It's slightly funny (but also slightly heartbreaking) that Majima, intentionally or not, went "well I missed my chance with my first love Makoto, best spend the rest of my life being a pest to her dead brother's boyfriend". And did just that.
We don't think about Majima and his sad life lest we fall into a pit of despair 🫡😩😭
#lmao#ask#tbf he seemed happy enough in y7 and he did have purpose in the clan and then with his building comoany#and then got saejima back so its not too bad#lowkey laughing bc i was gonna be like Oh but mirei was before makoto??#but then i remember i just made an au thats better than canon where 18 yr old majima got married to mirei and then it fell apart#bc dumb teens and yakuza and idol industry and thats half the reason hes down to sacrifice himself and why he walks away from makoto#but thats not canon thats my brain

tbh I really wanted the 3jimas to win that fight, to have Kiryu realize that his actions have consequences and that maaayybeee the people he keeps disappearing on to only reappear briefly to make demands of are finally sick of it and the rose tinted glasses of admiration have come off
no absolutely i really needed kiryu to just. //shakes him//
another thing i really wish we got from IW was daigo going off on kiryu- like he STARTED to but i needed that Y4 shit RIGHT NOW. if Y4 did anything right, it definitely helped broaden daigo's character in how having the chairman title pushed onto him was stressing him out and having him express this to kiryu was SO cathartic, even if daigo's words ultimately mean nothing to kiryu (or at the very least, kiryu did a bad job on understanding daigo's grievances and helping him afterwards)
it really is agitating that the jimas ended up going to the tower anyway too. i get that saejima and majima are kiryu's ex-colleagues and daigo's practically his son, and the fight was supposed to be a 'wake up call' for them. but it just diminishes the anger we saw from daigo in that first scene (and as if i have to say it, daigo becoming angry is a rare thing so that when it does happen its so jarring and it's meant to be serious) and it continues to excuse kiryu's general disregard for others if it means he gets what he wants.
its unfathomable to me that after nearly two decades of holding a position daigo didnt want for the sake of his idol, he finally gets to break away from it. and now his idol's just waltzing back into his life- after acting like he was dead for three years- asking for ANOTHER favor. and daigo's just supposed to accept it. if kiryu wasnt literally dying i just know he'd keep doing this until his last breath and no one would punish him for it because despite how many times he claims to understand daigo's woes, it's evident he doesn't care enough to leave him out of things
#iw spoilers#snap chats#this turned into a daigo rant LMAO SORRY#ALSO INTO A KIRYU HIT PIECE OOPS JLERJALJ#no listen i keep saying it but i genuinely love how much of an asshole kiryu is it makes things really interesting#BUT ITS SO FRUSTRATING WHEN HIS SELFISHNESS DOESNT GET PUSH BACK#like i remember thinking that scene in y3 where mine calls out kiryu was the best scene#i hadnt even played the rest of the series yet but i still knew mine had points about kiryu just pushing problems onto others#and still acting like he's virtuous#BUT THATS A POST FOR ANOTHER DAY ALKJALKJ kiryu ily please stay an asshole who wants to do good#but ultimately sucks at doing good for the people who matter the most to him#let me just ramble more cause when i think of that scene with the jimas its so upsetting#just seeing how daigo's so concerned for kiryu- UGH i need to eat drywall#like aoki's death was one of the only things from this franchise that actively frustrated me#but this whole scene is so agitating too whenever i think hard about it#SORYR FOR THE RAMBLE this was definitely more emotionally charged than i try to make my posts usually#but oopsie </3 i have a lot of feelings ....

Okay but imagine Majimas spouse being fed up with all that yakuza shit since it’s affecting majima negatively, so s/o suggests that they should fake their death and move to another country and live their best life?
Hmmm I think this would pose quite the dilemma for Majima, depending on which time in his life it happens.
In the years leading up to 2006, when he’s still making a name for himself in the yakuza, constantly under the looming shadow of his boss and mentally in a bad place... well, I think that’s actually the time he’s most likely to consider it. He’s living day by day powered only by inertia, obediently playing the pawn in Shimano’s “long game” of one day seizing power in the Tojo. But when will that day come? And will it even change things for Majima? He’ll still be a leashed dog...
But while I believe he'd fantasise about faking his death and escaping from it all, at this point there’s still too much guilt, mainly around Saejima. Majima worked his ass off to get back into the clan and powered through all the shit thrown his way in the hopes of one day facing Saejima with a strong family by his side... if he gave up now, his name would be struck from the record and he’d have to live with the disappointment of not fulfilling the goal he and his kyodai set when they were young: getting to the top.
It hurts like hell, to have to choose between your beloved and your life’s work that you’re more or less chained to... so maybe his partner should leave it as a suggestion, not an ultimatum. Because they’re not going to like Majima’s answer otherwise.
For sure there’s a bit of sunk cost fallacy at play here as well. The more years pass, the more Majima’s likely to think “I can’t leave now.” Still, around Y2 he becomes disillusioned with Tojo leadership and even though his family grows bigger day by day, he starts to realize he doesn’t have to officially be yakuza to offer them a “home”.
It would still take a while to convince him at this point, but with Shimano gone, Kiryu-chan settling down with his own quiet life and Daigo not yet in the picture, Majima finally starts taking the idea seriously. In Nishida he’s got a dependable successor for the position of Majima Construction’s CEO and I’m certain he’s already got a will of sorts, with instructions on how to incorporate all the boys who still want to be yakuza into an eventual Saejima family. When... if it happens. There will always be some guilt, knowing that although he’s “died”, he still hasn’t properly atoned for his Ueno hit absence, but he keeps it at the back of his mind. One day he’ll return and get what’s coming to him, for sure...
Finally, if we’re talking about Majima from Y4 and beyond, Saejima becomes a much more real obstacle standing in the way of a “clean” escape. On the one hand, he of course doesn’t want to let go of his brother now that he’s back, but on the other hand he also gets exposed to Saejima philosophy: it’s never too late to start over. Faking his death and disappearing can be his way of “retiring” from yakuza life to begin a new chapter... but, you bet Majima would beg the big tiger to come with. Well, maybe beg is a strong word. He’d mope around trying to come up with arguments and scenarios where they could still work together even under new identities, but Saejima would be having none of that. He’s got a few more years in prison to get through first...
If Majima does decide to make this step, he’s gonna have to first come to terms with the fact that 25 years have turned both kyodais into very different people, whose life paths are maybe inevitably set to diverge... And it’ll be hard.
So I touched on a lot of stuff here but in short I guess the answer is: it’s a hell of a difficult decision. There will always be business left unfinished, people left behind... as impulsive as Majima normally is, this is a situation that he’s gonna have to spend a lot of time contemplating.
And his partner? He’s touched by their concern and even surprised at the lengths they’re willing to go through for his sake, throwing away the life they’ve built for themselves for the promise of a happier one by his side. For sure he’s daydreamed about it too - lying in their garden, fanned by the gentle breeze and the smell of orange trees, watching their kids grow up happy and healthy, in a place far, far away from any yakuza dealings...
It’s worth thinking also about where Majima would like to go. Tropical places aren’t really his thing, the sun doesn’t play well with his pale complexion and especially not with his pride and joy: his tattoo. Although speaking of that, he’s both looking forward to people not judging him harshly for his ink any more and also a little miffed that they wouldn’t appreciate its symbolism as much either...
Still, he’d probably move somewhere where the climate is as temperate as Japan’s, maybe to a smaller city that still retains a bit of the cosmopolitan feel he’s used to, but is a lot calmer than Kamurocho.
What about a fully rural life? I think it might get a little too boring for Majima... but listen on one of my Discord servers people once discussed the likelihood he grew up on a farm, given he talks about horse riding with the Y0 hostesses as if he’s actually done it... 👀 So... maaaaybe he could get accustomed to it again, once he enters his twilight years.
Oof this ended up longer than expected, but I guess I had a lot to say! Hope this gives some food for thought! It definitely did for me 💙

a8, a13, b2, c11, d4, d7, f9! thank you for participating!
A8: Favorite song(s)?
fave disco song: queen of passion
fave boss theme: receive and turn you
fave dance battle song: like an arabesque
fave princess league song: loneliness loop
fave main karaoke song: pride from despair
fave back up vocals karaoke song: heartbreak mermaid
A13: Favorite minigame(s)?
all the rhythm based ones! but especially disco and dance battles.
B2: What’s a scene that never fails to make you cry?
hmmmm i actually only cried a couple times during the whole series, and it was when tachibana died and when saejima gave his speech abt how bad killing is at the coliseum. not even sure why that one got me but it did sjaksjndasdjn. i see my peepaw cry and i cry too, ig.
C11: Which character has the best taste in clothing? Who has the worst?
best: i havent played y7 yet but ive seen pics of seong-hui and shes so stylish i love her purple hair.
worst: nishiki. i know, controversial maybe, but that white suit was NOT it.
D4: Which character(s) do you believe should have never existed in the first place?
lau ka long, that entire thing was soooo uncomfortable 😰he was literally just there to b a racist stereotype and u could just take him out of the game and nothing abt the plot would even change 😭 and then he had to come back in y3 too 😭😭😭
D7: Who was the least engaging protagonist?
i wouldnt say haruka isnt an engaging protagonist, but i feel like she was rlly passive and not exactly in character from what we've seen in previous games. i just think she couldve been handled better. she had a lot of interesting traits that were just,,, ignored. like the way she vocally disagrees w/ kiryu abt hamazaki, and rlly isnt a trusting person, ppl have to prove themselves to her.
shes also shown to b rlly clever and she can be assertive! she stands up to hamazaki and mine.
i feel like they just made her... too nice all the time? i wouldve liked to see her be allowed to react in negative ways to... anything. ofc im not finished w/ y5 yet but thats my take so far. haruka just wasnt written that well, and its a shame bc she is a good character, they just didnt utilize the traits she had in previous games very well and she doesnt feel like the same person.
basically what i mean is, haruka is a rlly good character, but when they made her into a protag they failed to translate any of that and she feels like a totally different person and its disappointing.
F9: What are you most likely to get arrested for?
honestly its probably just an accident, smth bonkers happens bc smth bonkers ALWAYS happen, and i end up making myself look suspicious on accident.

Hi! Idk if it’s too late for the Drabble requests, if it is then please feel free to ignore this!!! But I wanted to ask for some majima/nishiki? Either before or after nishiki goes apeshit, I’m really not picky. I just love the idea that they interacted after their fight in yakuza 0! Especially since I feel like their situations are kind of similar, even if how they coped was...very different lol. Thank you 🥰
Thank you so much for this request~ I LOVE majima/nishiki as a concept, especially in that nebulous ten-year-period where Kiryu’s gone, it’s really fun to think about. This is like a beginning of a fic where they both go entirely off the rails and turn the entire Tojo Clan upside down, I hope you like it!
The thing is, Majima should leave this well alone. He knows he should. Shimano had as good as told him to leave this hornet’s nest alone, with one quirk of his eyebrow, and Majima’s nothing if not an obedient dog. But the thing is—it wasn’t an explicit order, and he feels the itch of his conscious twinging inside him, the same part of his heart that starts bleeding every time he sees a lost cause, everytime he sees somebody pure and good, bleeding out from the injustice of the world.
He wishes sometimes that Yasuko and Saejima had been stoned-hearted people. Maybe if their internal voices guided him away from this, Majima wouldn’t drag himself into quite so much trouble, saving beautiful people with puppy-dog eyes.
But he had loved them for their love. Their open, bleeding hearts had taken him in, and he’d destroyed them, and now Majima will destroy himself over and over, to repay even an ounce of their kindness into the world.
So even if it’s a bad idea, even if it’ll destroy him and probably Nishikiyama too, he walks up to the newly crowned patriarch at the Tojo HQ. Nishikiyama’s leaning over the scenic bridge staring at Chairman Sera’s koi pond, so, with a casual, dangerous saunter, Majima drawls, “Ya ever hear that story about why koi fish are so damn red? It’s ‘cause they drank the blood of the battlefield to grow all big and strong. But they ain’t never satisfied with that, so they just kept swimming.”
Nishikiyama looks up from the pond, eyes narrowed, body tense, as if he’s one misstep away from simply bolting. Cute. He’s got something of a survival instinct, then.
“...that’s sakura, Majima-san.” he says, finally, turning his gaze away from Majima and back towards the koi. “Sakura trees are buried over the battlefield, and their blossoms are stained red with blood, because they absorbed that blood.”
“Haw?” Majima demands, with a scowl. Well, maybe not that much of a survival instinct. He’d slap one of his family members down for that kind of backtalk. But Nishikiyama’s not a subordinate anymore. A Patriarch in his own right—no matter how stupid Majima thinks that decision was. “Then wassa myth about koi, then?”
“Koi swim up the waterfall, endlessly, futilely.” Nishikiyama says, a bitter curl to his mouth, and he reaches into his jacket, pulls out a cigarette packet. He pauses, as he’s about to tuck it away, and offers one to Majima, stiffly, as if he’s not used to having to think about it. Majima accepts, pulls out his own lighter, and lights them both up. Majima makes sure to aim the ash away from the pond though. He doesn’t abide by littering, and he respects Sera too much to fuck up his shit.
“Seems like a waste of time, don’t it?” Majima asks, low and amused. “Shouldn’t it just swim wherever the fuck it wants to?”
The cigarette smoke makes Nishikiyama’s taut face a little more hazy, blurry, relaxed. Younger too. Majima had thought his becoming Patriarch at 25 had been a transparent move on Shimano’s part, an admission of his own weakness, an admission of how he was dependent on Majima’s mercy, an easy bribe and reward and leash all at once. Even though Nishikiyama’s 27, he seems younger than Majima had been, back then, and the move to make him Patriarch only shows the weakness of Kazama’s hand more clearly.
No wonder Shimano’s gloating so much. Any way you cut it, trying to replace Kiryu with Nishikiyama is a futile decision. But still.
Majima remembers the man who’d fought him in the bar seven years ago, eyes blazing and skin glowing. Not Kiryu, not by a long shot. But something different, something bright in its own right.
Nishikiyama looks at him, confused and puzzled. “I—what the fuck do you want?”
Majima grins, wide and mad and crazed. “Just seems a waste, is all. Dogs are chained, leashed, but koi can swim anywhere. Why try for the waterfall when the ocean’s just as wide?”
Nishikiyama blinks for a moment, and then scoffs, puffing out a breath of resigned, irritated smoke. “Koi are stupid. Can’t hold more than one or two thoughts in their heads. What space do they have for dreams of the distant ocean?”
Majima’s enjoying this, he can’t help it. Kiryu’s never had much patience for the metaphor, but Nishikiyama’s willing to hold this conversation in a space away from where either of them have to admit what they’re doing. It’s refreshing, sometimes, to dance above the lie, an electrifying, terrifying thing. Majima leans his elbows back against the edge of the bridge, turning away from the fish, to tilt his gaze upwards towards the overcast sky.
“Even if yer gonna do something pointlessly, endlessly, ya gotta dream. Doesn’t the koi dream of becoming the dragon? Does it want it? Or is it just doin’ it because it thinks it should?”
Nishikiyama looks away. “Does it matter?”
“It’s the most damn important thing in the world.” Majima says, seriously, and he thinks about who he’d be if he hadn’t had the dream of Saejima and Yasuko and their happy family to tide him through the Hole. He’d let the madness into his soul, he’d had to change in order to survive. But the dream had kept him on the right track. He knows more than anybody, how important it is to hold steadfast to it.
But that’s always been his problem. A loyal dog, too loyal for his own damn good. Once he gets his teeth into something, he can’t ever let go.
Nishikiyama looks down, a stray strand of hair falling down into his eyes. “The ocean just seems so far away.”
Majima snorts. “Then it’s gotta find something’ to tide it over. Somethin’ smaller, something closer. Dream small first, and then ya’ll get better at it. And ya can dream big. Dream about the freedom of the wide ocean.”
There’s a loud booming laugh from the other side of the garden. He and Nishikiyama both glance over, to where Shimano seems to be making some big joke with the Shibata and Kumigawa Family heads. A reminder of how dangerous this game Majima’s playing is. He rolls his neck out and tries to look as infuriating as possible. Nishikiyama, not nearly as stupid as he portrays himself to be, curls his shoulders inwards, as if annoyed, but there’s a thoughtful edge to his gaze anyway.
“Didn’t think you were the type to dole out advice like this, Majima-san.” Nishikiyama says, puffing out some smoke.
Majima cackles, loud and amused. “Gotta switch it up sometimes. Get you all soft and mushy, and then I’m gonna attack out of nowhere, when yer least expecting it.” He fiddles with his sleeves, just long enough to flash Nishikiyama the knife he always has on his person. Nishikiyama’s eyebrows rise, but he doesn’t react, not like Kiryu would have.
“And I suppose the hand that holds the leash is close by.” Nishikiyama says, coolly, something of a smirk touching his lips as he looks away from Shimano and back towards Majima. “The dog’s never thought of turning backwards?”
“Don’t bite the hand that feeds you, amiright?” asks Majima, lazily, but he feels his heart start to beat a little faster, as Nishikiyama tugs at his own tie, loosening it a little.
Nishikiyama’s eyes lid, and he looks somewhat torn, conflicted. Has Majima hit a sore spot here? Has Nishikiyama got second thoughts about hitching his wagon to Daddy Kazama? Ha. Majima’s been there, too. He understands that much. Nishikiyama licks his lips, stubs his cigarette out against the side of the bridge. “What if it’s stopped feeding you? What then?”
This is the problem with metaphor. So easy to get lost in it. Nishikiyama’s difficult to read, not like Kiryu, who’s an open book, whose every expression gives him away. Majima doesn’t know what their conversation is about anymore. Are they talking about Majima and Shimano? Or Nishikiyama and Kazama? Or more dangerously, are they talking about both?
“Shit if I know! Wonder how long a fish can go without food? ‘Cause a dog’s got patience. It’ll wait forever. It’ll wait until it dies.” Majima whispers, quietly, so quietly he’s not even sure he’s saying it. Majima’s in this for the long game. No matter what, he has to survive, like the bleached, wizen plum tree in the back of his yard. Only one person can kill him, and neither Shimano nor Kiryu nor Nishikiyama can get in the way of that.
This is dangerous. Nishikiyama’s dangerous and he’s playing a dangerous game. Turning away from your expectations is one thing, but betrayal is entirely another. Majima shouldn’t bite. He knows the consequences of betrayal. It has been burned into his bone marrow, he is a creature shaped entirely by betrayal’s fallout. But he’s a stupid thing, and the naked plea in Nishikiyama’s expression is maybe the only thing in the whole world.
He’s always been a sucker for beautiful, broken things.
“I’ve been hungry my whole life, Majima-san.” Nishikiyama whispers, and his gaze has moved down to Majima’s lips, still closed around an almost-burned-out cigarette. Nishikiyama’s tongue flickers out over his lips, leaving them wet and shiny in his wake. “I don’t know how much longer I can go.”
Majima shuts his eye and thinks. If this goes wrong, they’re horribly fucked. The Hole will be nothing compared to what Shimano will do to him now, now that Majima is in a place of real betrayal. If this goes right, on the other hand....
When he opens his eyes, Nishikiyama’s still looking at him. Majima pulls the cigarette out of his mouth, and puffs the smoke out, straight into Nishikiyama’s face. To anybody looking, it would be an act of pure antagonism. But Majima whispers, “Wait a little longer, then,” and it is a promise shared between the two of them. Two left-behind, shattered things, desperately trying to survive. Trying to find meaning in a world devoid of it.
...this is madness. But he’s the Mad Dog of Shimano. Madness is his specialty. The ocean in which he thrives. He’ll join hands with Nishikiyama, against his better judgement, and throw himself into the whirlwinds of chaos, of forging a new path entirely.

After some time passes, Samatoki and Sasara talk over a phone call. Sasara tells Samatoki that there's no problem on his part.
Sasara: They kept asking me about all sorts of stuff, but in the end I was deemed unrelated to the case and got released. However, your men are in a deadlock... the cops said your car was used in a criminal act. On top of that, the victim is said to have been kidnapped by you.
Shocked, Samatoki says that he doesn't understand what this is all about. Sasara suggests that they meet up for the time being and asks where Samatoki is.
We then see them talk inside a house.
Sasara: What's this place?
Samatoki: A hideout for when stuff comes up.
Sasara: Heh, you're well-equipped.
Samatoki glares at Sasara. The the following panel is that of Sasara getting in the way of the cop who was about to arrest Samatoki.
Samatoki: Why'd you help me out back then?
Sasara: It hasn't been long yet, but I already know you're not that kind of person [who kidnaps people]. My eyes ain't bad, you know.
Samatoki sighs and smiles, telling Sasara that even good-naturedness has its limits.
Sasara: But well, if you actually did do it I'll be caught as an accomplice.
Samatoki: I didn't.
Sasara: I know, I know. That's why we gotta find the guy who set you up.
Samatoki stands up, saying "Yeah. I'll find and finish 'em all."
Sasara: Just a sec! You're wanted right now. You'll just get caught by the cops if you loiter around.
Samatoki: Yeah, but I gotta do what I gotta do! For my guys who got caught too...
Sasara: All the more reason for you not to get caught, yeah?
Samatoki: But someone else I can count on...
Sasara: ...'s right here!
Sasara points a finger towards himself, leaving Samatoki speechless.
Sasara: It's not easy to experience this kind of situation while living a normal life. I'll have my fill of amusement!
Samatoki: Heh. You're one crazy guy.
Then we see Sasara walking around town reading a list of groups that oppose Samatoki's that he gave Sasara. Sasara complains about the list being endless. He's tried digging around, but it seems that the Saejima guy mentioned in the last chapter isn't involved in the incident.
Sasara: (Wait, a P.S.? Saejima and Tomabechi, they profit off business together? These losers sure have a complicated dumpster map.*)
Sasara looks at one more name in the list: Tomabechi Zakuro**.
Sasara: Here comes the last one.
*) Not literal, the actual text was a pun: クズ共の複雑な勢力図 kuzudomo no fukuzatsuna seiryokuzu ‘scums’ complicated power map’

Lady Dojima
Sexuality Headcanon: bisexual
Gender Headcanon: 🙈 lady . this actually fluctuates depending on how indulgent i wanna be but usually i just go cis woman -_- just bc that's my mom who would love and support me
A ship I have with said character: erm.. *blushes* kashiwagi >_>
A BROTP I have with said character: kashiwagi as well :) that's her best friend thats her buddy, she has a really good relationship w kiryu too but it's different it's like a different tier entirely it's more familial in a sense but it isnt but it is, i also would like to explore her relationship w nishiki (apart from kiryu) but that is just (:, her and haruka would be cute too just bc <3 extended family
A NOTP I have with said character: sera just bc the theories around it get on my nerves, any other man people pair her w tbh besides my beloved <3
A random headcanon: shes kind of a weird girl outside of professional settings i think the blunt way she talks is kind of offputting outside of those and also she just doesnt censor herself not that shes crude but she wont stop herself from saying weird or mean things, she has a really sarcastic sense of humor she delivers everything really dryly so it's hard to tell if shes serious or not also she doesnt laugh a lot you'll probably only make her laugh if you are close w her and even then she is just ._., daigo picks up a lot of his mannerisms from her if you see them next to each other in the same situation they are very very close and similar, she likes strawberry shortcake but shes very particular about it her like former bff ran a bakery and it feels homey and nice to her so <3 fond memories but now shes particular, her favorite flower bouquets are roses + hydrangeas but she doesn't really like roses on their own, she likes cats, she doesnt like cooking but she isnt bad at it, shes very meticulous about how she presents/looks, she has a similar academic bg w daigo, shes self taught w a katana mostly + she practices w it to destress, shes not social but shes kind of chatty if you catch her at the right time but she mostly just asks a lot of questions and doesnt engage in convo well, she likes dresses/skirts but mostly dresses <3, very close w daigo i think he really was one of those kids who was like "my mommy is my best friend <3" but they're very close that's her baby shes very proud of him and they are still close now, shes otherwise not very good w kids i think kind of awkward daigo was her exception everyone else she is just kind of … … …, she likes to sing/hum (: but only when alone/doing menial tasks
General Opinion over said character: i looooove her shes my everything i just care so deeply about her i cant even call her my friend i respect her too much shes a little bit above me but <3 hi lady dojima ik ive said this before and its so embarrassing but i get like >///< *blushes irl* if i think about calling her yayoi or god forbid a milf or anything it feels too disrespectful im so >_> anyway hiii i love you

A BROTP I have with said character: not including daigo um akiyama (: the whole 5 party really saejima likes to look out for him and kiryu is also there and hed be a cute big bro to haruka
A NOTP I have with said character: mine but its almost allowed bc of how laughable and mockable and ridiculous it is also any polyam ships that involve well. you know..
A random headcanon: autism (: baseball special interest that started when he was like 7 and never went dormant ever, hes bad w time and remembering things he just loses track of everything, he sleeps a lot and can sleep anywhere but if hes not sleeping he has to be doing something like anything, he likes to paint his nails mostly green but sometimes he lets daigo do black, bad at math but he likes writing a lot just in general sometimes he writes little notes/poems/thoughts/stories on his scrap paper when hes procrastinating work they're nothing special so he doesnt even really acknowledge that he likes writing he usually just scraps them or forgets about them it's just for fun, he likes to impress people if someone mentions being into something he tries to get into it too i think hes just a people pleaser, he likes to sing (: also just for fun he doesnt care about being good he'll do it when walking around or when doing literally anything he doesnt care about being loud/obnoxious in public if hes in a good/energetic mood, he cant cook mostly bc he has trouble paying attention to things for a while he gets bored and forgets about stuff, he forgets to cut his hair a lot so it gets long sometimes and he just ties it up until he actually gets around to doing something about it, very friendly he says hi to everyone and is the kind of person to not disclude people ever hes just very kind, he doesnt hold his alcohol well he gets sick pretty fast, hes very good at talking baseball/batting specifically but not very good at teaching or hes not very practical about it at least hes actually better at giving pitching tips, he has weird volume control i think its actually the opposite of daigos, hes a hugger (:, kind of really bad w social cues hes really social but can be awkward he tends to talk too much, he procrastinates a lot but hes also just a "drop everything to come and help" kind of guy maybe he doesnt prioritize well but he just cares about people like he is kind of finicky for money but hes also the type to give up his jacket if someone needs it or lend things out when he can, hes not good at picking up hobbies sometimes girls/friends get him stuff like a plant or some kind of craft kir or something and it's not like he doesnt take care of it/do anything w it he just cant hold an interest he wanted to get into music/instruments once though but it's expensive and then he eventually stopped caring/forgot, he shares his food w street animals when he can, he can either sit through movies or he can't it's either like "if im idle too long ill die" or just intense focus, he smiles a lot it's like his default face but he also smiles/laughs when hes nervous, he takes lots of pictures hes the kind of person to just message out of the blue w a pic saying it reminded him if you even if you dont make the connection and maybe it's just bc he thinks about people when walking around and he'll see something pretty/nice/cute or that just makes him smile so he needs to share it w whoever was on his mind he does it w the rgg5 crew and akiyama doesnt get it but hell send like a thumbs up or some blingee bedazzled stupid pic back + kiryu usually ignores him but deep down he thinks its sweet and maybe says "thanks." but feels too awkward to send a pic of the kids or the beach back + saejima usually sends a cat picture back or just says "okay" or ignores it + haruka always sends something back and kind of does the same thing w shinada now where she'll send him things if she thinks of him bc he started it
General Opinion over said character: he makes me so happy i love him so much hes just sweet and <3 i love you you make my heart feel <3 nice and sweet and kind i love you you mean the world to me you make me so emo i wahhhh i love you <3
#asks#rgg txt#<3 i love you <3 im glad i got to do my faves w you they make me (: loses it a little..#SORRY I DIDN'T KNOW THE SHINADA ONE GOT SO LONG WTF#i was like okay dont add more on lady dojima now it will be obnoxious but i kept going okay just one more for shinada .. but wlel um..

Time to (finally) update Mob! Go check it out, it's full of tears.
Summary : Something happened after Haruka’s concert. (PART 1) (AO3 Link)
2 - TEARS
He had been crying for what felt like hours.
Days, even.
None of this felt real.
He vaguely remembered talking to people. Distant family members, coworkers, neighbours. Nice, friendly people with their sorry, pained expressions and their kind words. They all came flocking to him the second the news talked about it.
He hated them.
Hated how he felt them struggle with his own raw grief. Hated the sad tint of compassion in their voices as they told him they couldn’t imagine what he was going through. Hated how they looked at him as he cried, scared of that pathetic display.
He was scared, too.
But mostly, he was angry.
His anger, at first, was directed at no one in particular. Or everyone at once. He blamed the people who made this concert happen. He blamed the girl, the idol who started this disaster. He blamed the yakuza who had raised her. He blamed every single fucker who had been in the crowd that night.
He blamed her, too.
He hated himself for that.
When some journalists managed to track him down, asking him about what happened, what he felt now that his world had been turned upside down, he could barely believe it. These people were vultures. All of them. Hounding him down, following him everywhere until he cracked and talked to them. And even then, as he allowed some of them into his house, he was speechless. Their questions barely made sense, he barely remembered saying anything, his eyes lost in the camera in front of him. He doubted any of his answers made any sense. How could they? Nothing made sense anymore.
All he could offer to the good people of Japan, who were in no doubt watching because they wanted to see what a broken man looked like, were his tears.
He kept crying long after everyone had left.
**********************************
Kiryu was awake. And, like all the times he had been conscious enough for it, he was begging. Bargaining. Trying to win over whoever was in front of him, to be finally allowed to leave this damn room. Today’s target was Akiyama, who was trying to avoid his desperate plea by looking at something outside, through the window. The man was being particularly stubborn today, not even meeting Kiryu’s eyes as he made small talk, attempting to distract him. Well, Kiryu was stubborn enough. He knew he would win at this game, eventually.
He tried to brute force his way out of there several times, only to be pushed back in his bed by Saejima or Majima. Sometimes both. Apparently, the two oath brothers were standing guard next to his door at all times, making any escape impossible. For the time being, at least. Kiryu couldn’t wait to be back in full force; to show them what it means to try to stop him.
For now, he was still far too weak to even attempt to fight anyone. Last time he tried, punching Majima in the nose after he stupidly got a bit too close, the nurse gave him something that made him sleep for an entire day. His punch was so weak it didn’t even manage to break Majima’s stupid nose.A total flop. After that, Kiryu was forced to behave, not wanting to lose more time than he already had.
The big bad dragon of Dojima, grounded. Stuck in this hospital room when all he wanted was to see Haruka.
Not being able to be with her was driving him crazy.
So he begged.
Asked as soon as he was awake, no matter who was in front of him. The nurses, the doctors, Majima and Saejima, Date that he only saw once or twice, Akiyama… They all gave him the same answer. Not today. Not yet. You’re not strong enough.
If today was any indication though, he was making some progress. He felt it as Akiyama wriggled uncomfortably, back on the chair he usually sat on next to Kiryu’s bed.
He knew if anyone was going to cave in and give him what he wanted, it was going to be Akiyama. The man was crushed by his guilt, and Kiryu wasn't ashamed to exploit that. He'll feel bad about it later.
“You do look better, today.”
Too busy focusing his thoughts on trying to win him over, Kiryu almost didn’t hear Akiyama talk. He blinked stupidly, trying to process what had been said.
“Good enough to take a walk?” he asked, daring to hope it would be enough to work. He would have tried to smile, but his face kept its usual stoic expression, hoping he looked at least strong enough to walk out of here.
Akiyama just stared at him, and for the first time since he had walked into his room, Kiryu noticed how truly exhausted he looked. He usually looked tired, with bags under his eyes and his dishevelled suit, but everything about him looked worse right now. Having lost track of days ever since he woke up, Kiryu didn’t know how long the man had been in the hospital, keeping watch over him or checking in on Haruka. He would have been thankful for it, if his mind was not solely focused on finding a way out of his cell.
After what felt like an hour, Akiyama finally talked again, his voice weirdly hushed. “It’s a bad idea.”
And just like that, Kiryu was set free.
Well, more or less.
Taking a walk was apparently out of the question. Kiryu had to admit he probably wouldn’t have been able to take a step on his own, but he refused to admit it as his friend pushed a wheelchair that he got from who knows where in front of him.
It would do.
Finally being able to get out of the room felt unreal. Kiryu immediately felt the anticipation of it all making him dizzy, his body still aching from his wounds. Still, he said nothing as they started moving, afraid any comment about his pain would take him back to his room.
Akiyama was pushing his chair, mumbling to himself some more about what a bad idea that was while Majima and Saejima were following like two nervous shadows. Kiryu was more or less sure they didn't ask anyone’s permission before they took him out of the room. Not that it mattered now, no doctor's order could have stopped him, anyway.
Kiryu felt better than he did when he first woke up, his head wasn't spinning as hard anymore, and he could more or less focus on what was happening around him. Still, he felt numb. Wrapping his brain around what happened after the concert was hard, no matter how many times it was explained to him. Even now, as Akiyama kept talking to him as they advanced through an empty corridor ("It looks worse than it really is" , "Doctors say she was lucky" , "Her chances of waking up are very good", things like that), Kiryu's mind was blank. He didn't know what to make out of those words. He was probably still high on painkillers. And probably a bit in denial, too.
He heard Majima take a deep sigh behind him and wished he could have punched him again. He wasn't sure why.
Maybe because they had finally taken a stop near a small room, similar to the one Kiryu had just left.
Maybe because Date came out of it, looking more glum than Kiryu had ever seen him.
Maybe because right now, fighting someone, anyone, sounded better than getting inside this room he had begged again and again to be in.
Now that he was here, he was scared of what was inside.
Date was talking to him, no doubt saying the same kind of things Kiryu has been hearing while he was being pushed here. This time, he couldn't focus on his words at all, barely aware of how his own hands got on the wheels of the chair, making a move for the room. Akiyama showed no resistance and let go of the chair, taking a step back.
Scared or not, he had to do it.
Once he was inside the room, everything went too fast. Everything he saw was too much for his still fuzzy head, but it was still enough to make him stop in his tracks. Feeling as if his blood has frozen in his veins, Kiryu took in the details of the horrid scene laid out before him.
The slow beeping of machines and, louder, the respirator, filling the room with a hypnotic rhythm.
The bruises on her face, deep purple in places, still way too vibrant after so many days.
The terrifying paleness of her skin.
The catheter lodged in her arm.
The fact that it was her, the child he swore he would stay far away from, for her own sake, lying here, completely still. Haruka.
Kiryu only managed not to fall down because he was already sitting in the wheelchair.
He did break down, though.
He wasn’t sure when he had started crying. The world was spinning again, his body screamed in agony, and the only thing that made him take his eyes out of the bed where his daughter laid way too still was a hand on his shoulder.
Date. The man was suddenly next to him, kneeling next to his chair, at his eye level.
He was crying, too.
All that Kiryu could think about as their eyes met is that it felt wrong. Date wasn’t supposed to cry. He wasn’t supposed to cry, either. And Haruka wasn’t supposed to be here, wounded and unconscious.
It was all wrong.
**********************************
Majima ran away as soon as everyone started falling apart around him.
It was not that he was scared of that unbearable display of vulnerability. No, really. He was tough, he could handle a few tears. But when he heard some actual wails coming from the room, he felt as if he’d rather be somewhere else. It did not help that both his oath brother and that loan shark guy looked absolutely mortified, the latter looking like he was going to burst into tears as well at any moment. Majima really didn’t want to be here to see that.
So he turned tail and quickly put some distance between himself and all those unpleasant emotions. He did hear Saejima call for him, but he was already far enough to pretend he didn’t notice.
His quick, angry steps disturbing the stupid silence of the hospital earned him a few suspicious looks from staff members and patients alike, but Majima didn’t mind. He couldn’t exactly blame them, the place was quiet enough than a tall, obnoxiously dressed yakuza stomping around stuck up like a sore thumb. That was alright with him. If anything, looking at the nurses glaring at him as he zoomed past them made him forget about his thoughts for a hot second. Which was nice. Not much, but nice. He gave them a wide grin, baring his teeth as they quickly looked away.
He would have accepted anything to distract himself from the voice in his head, his own voice, what he had said to his oath brother right before their fight echoing at the back of his mind.
He loves her more than life itself.
God, he hated being right.
He had known Kiryu for long enough to know the man cared too much about pretty much everyone he met. He forgave backstabbers without a second thought, worse, he was the kind of sad sap that would grieve for a fallen enemy like he would for a dear friend. Most of all, the bond between Kiryu and that kid that somehow ended up in his care was something else. Sure, Majima couldn’t pretend he knew much about what being a parent was like. Hell, Kiryu had what, a dozen crying orphans? A whole pack of sad little fuckers, waiting for him at home, that he surely cared about just as much.
But Haruka was special. Had always been.
And, right now, she was in pieces. Broken by the very same morons who swore they idolized her right before she had the nerve to open up to them. And, just like Majima had predicted, this also broke Kiryu. He felt an unpleasant shiver creeping on his neck as he thought of the other man crying in the depressing little room where his daughter laid.
Still, things could have been worse - at least, the kid was still alive. For now.
Alright, so trying to not think about it wasn’t working as well as Majima had hoped. He needed to think about something else right now. Find an actual distraction, since wandering through the hospital aimlessly didn’t work.
He needed someone to pester.
He went straight for Daigo’s room.
As he made his way through the much nicer hospital aisle, with the fancy rooms they kept for the important, wealthy guests, Majima frowned. The place felt strangely empty. No body-guards in front of either of the corridor’s end, no guy standing in front of the room’s door, and, surely enough, no one inside.
He sighed.
One of these days, they were going to make a “ Who’s the biggest dumbass who had ever led the Tojo Clan ” poll, and Majima wasn’t sure who would actually win that title. Sure, Kiryu was a colossal meathead who kept putting himself into impossible situations, but Daigo was no slouch either. What he lacked in stupidity he made up for in impulsivity. The only reason he was still in the hospital at all was because he kept finding ways to escape his room, and, way too often, fuck up his stitches again.
It had been years since Majima had sworn he would keep an eye on the chairman for Kiryu’s sake, and the guy had managed to throw himself at all kinds of dangers with a frightening regularity ever since. Though he had joked when he proposed keeping his boss on a leash last time a major crisis happened, Majima found the idea pretty reasonable right now. That would at least cut the poor nurses some slack. They were always running after their patient, and, if the emptiness of the room was anything to go by, they didn’t have much luck in finding him this time. That, or they simply gave up. Majima wouldn’t blame them.
Still, they probably didn’t look that hard, because as Majima got down a few floors, abandoning the quiet fancy corridors to come back to something more modest, he found Daigo in his usual spot, standing guard in front of room 407. Well, “standing” was perhaps a bit of an exaggeration, as he was sitting in a wheelchair similar to the one Kiryu was probably still weeping in. A few Tojo clan men were scattered in the corridor, keeping an eye on their chairman. As Majima walked past the closest one, a sweaty brat who literally looked like he had never worn a suit before, he had to stop himself from barking at them to get lost. If the way the guy bent over as he passed was any indication, shaking and sweating even more, he would have obeyed pretty quickly, too. Those body-guards might not have looked like much, and looking at them shaking as they stared at him did nothing to make his bad mood better, but they were at least doing better than their predecessors, so far. After the whole Aizawa fiasco, the only thing Majima asked of these guys was to be born and raised Tojo men, no more wolves in sheep's clothing bullshit.
So he settled for a grunt of acknowledgment, leaving the bodyguard behind to go sit on a chair placed conveniently next to his boss. As if Daigo knew he was coming to bother him. Majima was grateful - he had been standing still for too long while Kiryu was unconscious, and though he wouldn’t say it out loud it, he was starting to get a little tired. He frowned, realizing this was basically just him admitting he was getting old, which was not something he needed right now.
“Aren’t you supposed to be in your room, boss? Ya know, getting some rest, not playing hide and seek with the nurses, that kind of stuff?” he said as he collapsed on the chair with a loud thud, making all the body-guards suddenly stiffen. Majima paid them no mind, focusing his attention on Daigo who… Certainly looked like a man who hadn’t slept in a week. Which, to be fair, was how he usually looked, but still!
Before he could attempt to make fun of him for looking like shit, Daigo answered his question with another, not even taking his eyes from the door he was surveying. “Aren’t you supposed to be in front of Kiryu’s room?”
“Yeah, about that…”
That got him a reaction, at least. Majima appreciated for a few seconds the fact that his boss finally stopped staring at the door like an exceptionally sad looking guard dog to glare at him, before he took pity on him and grumbled some kind of explanation. “They took him to see the kid. Went as well as you’d think.”
“And by “they”, you mean…?”
“That loan shark guy. And Saejima, I guess.” Majima decided to omit he too had taken part on their little excursion to Haruka’s room. It wasn’t like it was his idea. And it wasn’t like they could have kept Kiryu from escaping forever. “He felt better, today. Hell, he has always been quick to heal, the fucker. So taking him to her room didn’t sound like such a bad idea.”
“How bad did he take it?”
“Eh. If he hasn’t fainted by now, he’s probably still wailing in there, I bet.”
As if summoned by the growing tension in the corridor, a nurse got out of room 407, freezing in her tracks as she realized a bunch of yakuza were staring at her. Still, she said nothing and left the scene as quick as she had appeared. Majima guessed when you worked in a hospital, you had no time to lose on a bunch of criminals looking at you funny. He assumed the conversation would just continue, but the chairman’s eyes were once again wandering to the now semi-open door of the room.
“That friend of yours is doing okay, I heard?” Majima only had a brief knowledge of who was the patient of room 407. Some guy that Daigo knew from high school, who ended up fighting alongside Kiryu and his ragtag bunch of buddies, because, of course, why not. He was also the one who was actually AT the concert that night, and who didn’t exactly save the day. That was a bit of a touchy subject, though, so Majima thought he would rather focus on something safer. Like what the guy was called, for instance. “Shit, what’s his name again? Swear Saejima told me, but-”
“Shinada.” Daigo cut him off, still focusing on the door, his brow furrowed. “I don’t think I should be calling myself his friend. He’s only in there because I meddled with his life. Again.”
Majima was musing on what that “again” meant when he noticed a worrying twitch of Daigo’s eye, as the man lowered his head slowly, his shoulder sagging. It occurred to him that perhaps he had just fled a crying chairman to come find another, and frankly, this pissed him off.
A good subordinate would have said nothing or, better, changed subject to spare his chairman the embarrassment of showing some kind of vulnerability, something the bodyguards were doing very well, as they all mysteriously started to look in different directions. Majima wasn’t exactly a good subordinate, though.
“If you start crying, I’m going to sucker punch you.”
The exhausted glare Daigo gave him was miraculously tear-free, so that was nice. “I’m not going to cry. And it’s not exactly a sucker punch if you warn the guy beforehand.”
“Maybe. But hey, let’s look at the big picture, yeah? The clan is still standing. Most of our guys are still alive.” But a lot of them were dead, Kiryu’s kid was in a coma and he himself wasn’t doing well at all, the clan’s hierarchy was once again all shaken up… Majima gritted his teeth, struggling to find something positive to add, before he settled on what he thought was a particularly nice note. “And shit, almost forgot, Saejima and Kiryu are not going to jail, thanks to ya!”
Majima had been slightly worried when cops started to get into their business shortly after the concert. That they had the nerve to show up at all, claiming that it was time for Saejima to go back to jail, and that Kiryu somehow had to go too, for some reason. It only took a little bribe from Daigo, the you-could-buy-a-house-with-that-much-money kind, to get them to back off and forget about the whole “jail” thing for a little while. They would come back, of course, but for now, his oath brother was free to haunt the hallway of this damned hospital, and Kiryu was free to cry for his daughter in peace. Lucky them.
“They’re not going to jail yet.” Daigo added, still looking pretty glum but at least finding some kind of a normal posture again.
“Yeah, sure. Still, it was nice of ya to do that. They’ll never admit it, the big idiots, but it’s probably better if they stick around, at a time like this.”
Would be a shame for them to miss all those tears, uh?

My Yakuza 5 review MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD (AND A REALLY LONG READ):
Honestly, this game is so weird in a lot of ways. It felt like the team was just throwing EVERYTHING they had idea-wise into it and funny enough, most of it worked.
First things first, this game gets plus points for making Daigo suck still. I don’t think Daigo has ever done anything in any of the Yakuza games except get owned and I love it.
The plot suffered from some pretty serious pacing issues and the plot involving the Yakuza itself was...convoluted and kind of nonsense, but not in the way these games usually are. There are so many questions I had about pieces of the plot that I don’t think there is an answer too.
Akiyama’s part, again, felt pretty superfluous. I really don’t think there was a need to play as him and his connection to Park was just whatever. I think this is especially noticeable because he doesn’t have any side stories like the rest of the characters. He’s a very likable character, but his part here felt forced.
Shinada is another weird one. He is an incredibly likable character with a good backstory. His entire portion of the game had SO much heart and the ending to his story made me tear up too. Hearing Takasugi tell Shinada “We miss you, bud” while Shinada just breaks down crying hit me some sort of way. His section was just down to earth and normal and about the relationships he built up around him.
But his part in the plot was almost pointless. I really enjoyed his part of the game a lot and the conclusion was wonderful, but seeing him team up with Akiyama, Kiryu and Saejima at the end just felt completely random. He had so little connection to any of them. His part of the plot almost felt completely disconnected from the rest of the game and while I enjoyed it, it added to the pacing issues.
Haruka’s part was a lot of fun from a gameplay standpoint. I love rhythm games, so I had a blast doing it, but I have the feeling that the game should have put way less focus on the Yakuza stuff and more on Haruka trying to achieve this dream. Her part, combined with Kiryu’s part, was the focus of this game’s emotional impact. Her speech at the end and the post credits scene had me crying.
I do think it’s weird that Haruka wanted to be an idol and I know that it was hinted at in Yakuza 2 at least, but still. It kind of felt random. Anyways, Haruka needs to become a detective because that substory in Kiwami 2 was the best. I WANT DETECTIVE HARUKA. SAWAMURA, PRIVATE EYE.
Mirei Park got screwed over pretty hard in the game. She gets killed off screen and I honestly thought it was just a fakeout. But no, she’s dead and that’s that. Sucks too, because she was an interesting character even if I HATED her at the beginning for what she said to Kiryu.
Saejima’s part was weird too. It was like...a retread of his part in Yakuza 4. You start in prison, you break out, you go to a town and hide. The big difference is that this time you get to fight a demon bear and do some hunting. That part of the game is very weird. Saejima’s character is so fun and charismatic that he carried it through, but this was another part of the game that completely stalled the plot. NOTHING happened in it. You learn about Majima’s death very early on and just about nothing changes by the end of his part in regards to finding out anything. Anyways, Saejima has a substory where he slips and eats shit on the ice and that’s unbelievable. He honestly has some of the best substories in the game period.
What I will say is that the pacing is SO bad that when the other inmates and that warden appeared near the end to help Shinada, I completely forgot who they were because it had been SO long.
Kiryu’s part of the game was great. Seeing him suffer from so much loneliness because he was away from his kids and have this severe self loathing of himself because he truly believes that he’s a roadblock to his kid’s happiness and success...it just hit so hard. He has a substory revolving around buying gifts for his kids and it’s just so cute. Being a taxi driver as Kiryu was also really solid and I loved seeing him build new relationships with everyone at the company.
I think this game should have focused WAY more on all of that. I even like the idea that his people back in the Tojo were keeping an eye on him the whole time and planting people in his life. That would have been an intriguing path to further explore without all the...Omi Alliance/Tojo Clan war shit.
I don’t know what to say about all the war stuff between the Omi and Tojo. It was really stupid. The guy who wants to destroy the Tojo and Omi is the current Omi chairman, but he’s dying and doesn’t want a successor and also he wants his son...to have that power and his son somehow singlehandedly took over the Tojo headquarters, but also he was a Tojo plant and his sworn brother died and he was fighting in the coliseum so he could get info on who did it and seemed genuinely broken up but apparently he didn’t actually give that much of a shit?
It was some omega level ridiculousness. I don’t even understand the motivations other than “We came from nothing and achieved this power and now..I dunno f**k it I guess?”
I said it before, but this game is incredibly ambitious. There are 5 big ass towns you get to play in and other setpieces like the prison, the hunting town, etc. There is just A LOT of stuff to do. All the sidestories are unique and fun to play. The gameplay finally hits its stride and the combat is super fun (even if Kiryu and Saejima are BEYOND broken gameplay wise). The substory writing is the strongest it’s been in terms of the old games. Yakuza 5 is bursting to the rim with content. It’s ridiculously impressive as a package and I really enjoyed my time with the game, even though it had its faults. It’s definitely way better than Yakuza 4, which is to this day the weakest entry in the series.
Now all I have left is the conclusion to Kiryu’s tale and I AM SCARED.

headcanon + a ship for our boys and hana/akiyama
, headcanon + a ship →✧ 【 Kazumaji 】
Thank you Vince, for this question. You’re lucky, because I have a lot of headcanons and no where to put them.
So. Majima is absolutely a night owl ( hey Majima have you ever heard about sleep??? ) which is a real shame because being caught off guard, and vulnerable with just waking up?? What a shame, something beautiful about that. Which is not to say Majima isnt often awaken in the early morning ( despite going to bed at ass o clock ) I’m just pretty sure that Majima doesnt think he needs to be awake then. Though, Kiryu has to coax and convince Majima to come back to bed especially when the pair both still has the odd night where he wakes up shaking and can’t go back to sleep with his own demons lingering in the back of his mind. For Majima it had gotten better since Saejima was released and theyve gotten to be brothers again. For Kiryu it had gotten better once he had left the yakuza life behind and knowing that Haruka had been safe, but.... It’s not as though being a yakuza is a cushy life and there are still days that it scares Majima more than Kiryu. Usually not that bad... but it happens.
Kiryu has found that if he’s going to bed, and if he makes a big production of said getting ready for bed, nine times out of ten Majima will come along with him. When the dragon of dojima was younger he could of cared less about when he fell asleep or where, but now his body aches when he doesnt get enough sleep. So Kazuma makes it a point of making a routine to go to bed at the same time every night. Might be a little boring calling it a night by eleven, showered; teeth brushed and phone off; but it allows him to wake up bright and early by seven every morning. and kicks add every day. Which in the end of the day, it works for him.
Majima still has the odd late nights for his own business reasons ( whether its Yakuza or his construction Biz ) And to give the kids something to talk about: After all he does have a reputation to uphold that is. Occasionally he can talk the dragon into coming along too. Those are the nights to be remembered, but unfortunately Kiryu only humors him once in awhile, and only if he’s postitive that Majima has had at least a six nights of great nights sleep beforehand, so there isnt any complicit feelings towards the older’s horrible self care. Ironically though, that when Majima does manage to sleep, he’s likely to sleep until noon or even later: Unless he’s provoked or awoken. Unlike other’s Kiryu think’s that he’s adorable, and sometimes comes to check on him every few hours. And maybe, just maybe he kisses his forehead sleepily while majima is still dreamy and incoherent.
Kiryu’s seen Majima run on four hours of sleep or less with a barely a hitch in his step; but that doesn’t mean he should. So kiryu refuses to wake him up from his overlong naps. He might not ever admit it but it warms his heart that Majima feels safe enough with him to sleep so long.
headcanon + a ship →✧ 【 Akiyama & Hana 】
Hana is a total mom when it comes to Akiyama or Kido or anyone that is important to her. When Akiyama gets sick, Hana wont let him leave the house. You’ve got a headache? the sniffles? A slightly higher temperature then normal? Well guess what it’s a self lock-down quarantine on this fucking good christian household.
Akiyama likes it a lot, after all he’d do anything to get out of work or general responsibility to sleep the day away. But when Hana is sick she will fight him on it ( Spoiler alert when that happens She always loses. And Akiyama ends up calling into work on her behalf, and when they work together as the boss he tells her to stay home. )
Hana is always all over Akiyama when he’s sick. Cooking chicken stew and other comfort foods! Makes sure he’s comfortable. And when Hana’s sick Akiyama will make sure she is comfortable in the bed/couch, he’ll fluff her pillows and tuck her into the covers! Akiyama even adjusts the temperature in the room to attempt to even make her feel comfortable. Hana finds it kinda blush-worthy getting fussed over, but Akiyama really loves it just melts ( so does hana but she get’s flustered the entire time. ) And when Hana is sick, Akiyama will enter any fight, danger just to make sure she feels better.

what about some majima/saejima for the yakuza prompts? o:
Saejima isn’t worried when Majima is thirty minutes late to dinner. The guy practically lives in his own dimension, showing up only when it just so happens to coincide with reality. Brings to mind the time Goro was early to one of their outings. Been there for all of five minutes before yapping about waiting an eternity for his plodding ass. Maybe he’d mistaken Taiga for the restaurant’s owner, miserably counting down the seconds until the lunatic smoking his second cigarette stopped hovering by the front door like a moth so other customers wouldn’t be fucking horrified.
Saejima produces his phone, fires off a text. [Where are you]
The answer he receives a moment later is an incomprehensible mishmash of kanji.
Taiga nods to himself. Jittery fingers post-fight. He understands.
His own cigarette is burned down to the butt when Majima finally turns up. Saejima can’t help but stare because his kyodai is spotless. No blood. No bruises. Completely and utterly un-assailed.
“Why’d you pick a place so fuckin’ hard to find?” Goro grouses.
“We’ve been here before,” Taiga replies.
A frustrated huff, hands on his hips. “Whatever, man. I’m starvin’, let’s eat.”
Saejima shows him the text when they sit down. Majima grumbles about the phone being a piece of shit and do you think they’d be mad if I put it on the grill for a second.

“Is your license any good?”
“Is yours?”
Saejima has no answer to that. Somewhere between the sewer diving and the bear punching, renewing his driver’s license fell by the wayside.
“Besides,” Majima continues, putting the car into drive, “You fuck it all up. Movin’ the mirrors, crankin’ the AC way up, pushin’ the seat back so far I can’t even reach the fuckin’ pedals. It’s like the car ain’t even mine.”
Night has made way for cloudless sunshine. Kamurocho’s windows glimmer like a thousand stars and heat rises from the asphalt in waves. Saejima leans back in his seat and shuts his eyes. Light, wind, and his kyodai. Life ain’t half bad.
“There’s an idea. We should get you a car.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah. I mean, one of your boys or my boys could drive ya wherever ya want, but having a car of your own’s a real power trip.”
“Yeah.”
“Downside is if someone’s gotta problem with you, they might take it out on the car, but if that’s the case, then they’re weak as shit. Too scared to take it up with you personally, so they knife the tires and break the windows. But I know a guy who does aftermarket work. Anti-theft systems involving flamethrowers kinda aftermarket work.”
Saejima grunts approval. The drive’s making him sleepy.
“That’s what we should get you. Not a sports car. You probably couldn’t even fit in one. Nah, something big. Something tough, maybe even European. Something that says Saejima Taiga’s hittin’ the streets, larger than life and twice as--SHIT!”
Saejima’s glad he remembered his seat belt because Majima slams on the brake as if to kick it through the floor. Too late to prevent the bump. The bump that could only come from hitting someone.
Goro’s rarely paralyzed, but that’s what he is -- frozen in place, mouth agape -- knuckles white under his gloves. Taiga steals a second to look him over. Shocked, but no damage. Saejima scrambles out of his seat, runs to the front of the car.
It’s a salaryman. His briefcase is crushed flat under a tire. At least it’s not his skull. Taiga gingerly drags him away. “You okay?”
The man groans, clutching Saejima’s arm. “My hip -- hurts so bad--”
“Hang on.” He looks at Majima, who’s still stuck stiff, heart almost visibly pounding through his chest. “I’ll get you to a hospital.”
- - -
Thankfully, luck is on the salaryman’s side. He leaves with a bottle of painkillers and a violet bruise that will ache for weeks. Could have been much worse.
Saejima makes a detour before exiting the emergency room himself.

That evening, as the sky burns to orange, Majima finds a pile of business cards on his dresser. All of them are for various ophthalmologists.
He shoots Taiga a look. “You of all people should know my ass is perfectly fine.”
Saejima spits into the sink, finds Goro in the mirror. “Maybe you should see a proctologist too, seein’ your head’s up there.”
“Touché.” He sheds his jacket, rests it on a hanger. “You’ve been hangin’ around me too much.”
“It’s only going to get worse.”
“So take a vacation or something. The last thing Kiryu-chan needs is two of me, especially if one is huge and bald and has a combat boot feti--”
Saejima grabs Majima’s wrist. Bones grind together and Goro bares his teeth in a snarl. “Your vision, dipshit. Your other eye goes to hell, where does that leave you?”
“My other senses’d take over.” He tries to wrench his hand free but Taiga’s grip is granite. “I could hear the subway coming twenty meters down. I could feel a counterfeit yen just by touch. I could smell Minami from another building.”
“You can already do the last one.”
“See? Adaptation in action!”
Saejima shoves him into the closet. Majima snags the cleaver kept under a pile of belts -- just in case -- gives pursuit, and finds his kyodai leaning against the dresser. Staring at the business cards. The tiger on his back roars in silent rage.
Goro looks at the blade. When did he get so blurry? Getting lost in the chaotic lights of sundown, connections entangled spiderweb, both night and day dazzling, confusing him. He’s becoming borderless, a smear of paint on steel. He glances at a snake on his shoulder and imagines it laughing at him. Pathetic.
--wait a second.
He steals his phone from the bedside charger and flicks to the internet. Dksig -- no, backspace -- smwie -- fuck -- snslg shsc. Close enough.
Ecdysis, he reads, skimming the article, While a snake is in the process of shedding the skin over its eye, the eye may become milky. This impairs the vision of the snake and may result in aggressive behavior. Snakes will rub against rough surfaces to shed their skin.
Saejima is one of the roughest people he knows.
Taiga hears him sigh. Majima is beside him, squinting at names and tapping them into his phone. “What are you doing now?” he asks. And then: “Is that a butcher knife?”
“I’m gonna ask ‘em how many scalpels they got in their offices,” Goro says, “Lowest number wins. I’m not taking any fucking chances.”
“They don’t--” Saejima huffs, hands balling into fists. “They use lasers, moron.”
“Oh, great. So I get one eye stabbed and the other burned outta my head. That’s real fuckin’ peachy.”
Saejima catches his hand, gently this time. He doesn’t need a medical degree to see the shining devotion no cataract will ever consume. “Anyone tries to burn you,” he says, “I’ll beat the shit outta them.”
And there’s the grin, the wicked shark’s smile he’s come to love so much. His fingers dance double-time on the screen. “Now I’m definitely gettin’ an appointment,” Majima exclaims, “That’s something I need to see!”
