#and then create a movie that is this terrible

This is one of the additions I appreciate most (there have been many great ones!), and in hindsight, I wish I'd put more context like this my original post. It was unnecessary to insist books/media can't be traumatic, which is dismissive of anyone who might be vulnerable and unfortunate enough to actually have been traumatized in that way and created a lot of side disputes about whether it's possible, which has distracted from the main goal of better understanding what trauma is like. If I had a do-over, I'd have phrased more of it with questions -- "Do you actually mean 'traumatize'? Do you know what goes into trauma and PTSD or acute stress disorder? Knowing that, do you feel it's accurate to use that term? What do you think might be the knock-off effects on trauma survivors (including and especially anyone who has been through a real-life version of the book/movie? Are you telling someone their basic existence is an infohazard, contaminating, unspeakable)? And lastly, could you use advice or support or resources to manage the aftermath of reading that book?"
Depending on how the rest of the conversation went, that last question might be said sarcastically. Though I do realize, especially after reading the notes of this post, that some people need access to much better coping strategies for managing feelings that fiction gives them. And stories can have lingering effects, some of them downright strange when we type them out (your snake example reminds me of some childhood experiences I blogged about earlier as an outgrowth of discussion around this post, and a few continuing adult habits of mine). But not all effects, even negative or uncomfortable ones, rise to the level of "trauma." And the experience of learning and having empathy for a terrible situation can, as you say, result in a "me" the reader likes and appreciates! (My last caveat is that nonfiction on topics like the Holocaust, because it's a real-life and generational trauma, might not always function the same way as fiction. People can and do get secondary/vicarious trauma from taking in media coverage of real life atrocities and tragedies. Though it's more likely to happen to the contractors moderating Facebook to remove violent imagery for hours on end, or someone processing information about their own family or loved ones' deaths or injuries, rather than to a Gentile like me reading a book on the Holocaust written and illustrated for a general audience while reclining comfortably on my couch. I read Primo Levi's Survival in Auschwitz as a preteen 21 years ago, and some details and phrases stick with me. But I'm not getting sensory flashbacks or dragging myself around in a fog on the anniversary of the date I read the book. Levi survived the trauma of Auschwitz. I just read about it.)
I'm wondering if, as a society who cares about vulnerable people, we could stop saying "traumatize" when we truly mean "upset"?
I am sick of hearing sad books or movies "traumatize" their readers. I simply do not believe that happens. A traumatic experience might be adjacent to books (I have vivid memories of books I was reading around certain experiences and even how the contents of those books affected my processing of the experiences). But it's not caused by the book. And, y'know. The weather is Christofascist Censorship Attempts outside.
Meanwhile from the other side I continue to be surprised at just how badly people fail to understand trauma and traumatic experiences in general. Watering down the term isn't helping. Find other hyperbole to express that The Bridge to Terebithia gutted you, chewed on your heartstrings, and made you cry your first pair of contact lenses right out of your preteen eyes.
#abuse cw#self-harm mention cw#trauma#long post#Holocaust cw#I've bitten my tongue in reblogs from asking: Do you think EMDR might help you free yourself from the bonds of Bridge to Terebithia?#but maybe I should just have asked it#because if the answer is 'yes' - someone's taken a step toward getting help! if the answer is 'no' - it's clarifying#(yet another caveat that EMDR is not the only therapy for trauma and doesn't work for everyone. But it's a helpful example.)

Ooohhhh, domestic caitvi where the both of them are arguing and reader hears all of it… and she began overthinking in her child mind that maybe her moms might breakup or leave her, when the fight was over, reader created a plan or something for them to love each other again and apologize to each other. In the end its all fluffy and they cuddled to watch a movie together🥰
A LOVE THAT STAYS
Vi x Caitlyn x kid f!reader
Synopsis: Being a little kid, you got scared when you heard your mothers arguing, worried that maybe they might leave you too. So, you came up with a little plan to try and change that.
Request: Anon 🤍
A/N: Part four of Motherly Love.
The house was usually filled with warmth and laughter, a place where you felt safest in the world. But tonight, the air felt different. The warmth was gone, replaced by tension that made your little heart ache.
You sat cross-legged on the living room floor, Bunny tucked securely in your lap, as the muffled sounds of your moms’ voices carried from the kitchen. At first, you didn’t think much of it. Sometimes adults talked loud when they were excited. But the voices kept rising, sharp and clipped, like thunder rolling through the house.
You hugged Bunny tighter, your small hands gripping his soft fur.
“I can’t believe you’re being so stubborn about this, Vi!” Caitlyn’s voice rang out, clear even through the closed door.
“Oh, I’m stubborn? That’s rich coming from you, Cupcake!” Vi shot back, her tone edged with frustration.
“Why can’t you ever just listen to me for once?”
“Maybe because you think you’re always right!”
You flinched at the sound of something clattering—a dish, maybe—followed by the heavy thud of boots stomping across the floor.
Your heart raced. Your moms never yelled like this. Sure, they had little disagreements sometimes, everyone did, but this was different. This was louder. Scarier.
Your mind began to spin, filling with terrible, confusing thoughts.
What if they’re really mad at each other?
What if they don’t love each other anymore?
What if they leave me?
Tears pricked at your eyes as the fear grew stronger. You didn’t want your moms to be mad. You didn’t want them to stop loving each other. And you definitely didn’t want them to leave.
You sat in your room, Bunny resting beside you as your mind raced. You couldn’t just sit there and do nothing. You had to fix it. You had to make them love each other again, just like they always did.
Grabbing your crayons and a stack of paper, you got to work.
Your plan was simple: You would remind them how much they loved each other and how happy they were together. You drew pictures of your family—one of all three of you hugging, one of your moms holding hands, and one of you holding Bunny while they laughed together.
Next, you wrote little notes in your best handwriting, with words like:
“Don’t fight. I love you both so much.”
“You are the best moms in the whole world.”
“Please love each other forever.”
Satisfied with your work, you stacked everything neatly and carried it to the living room. The house was quiet now, but it didn’t feel like the happy kind of quiet. It felt like the heavy quiet after a storm.
You carefully set your drawings and notes on the coffee table where your moms would see them, then climbed onto the couch with Bunny, waiting for them to come back.
Caitlyn was the first to enter the living room, her expression tired and drawn. She spotted you on the couch and immediately softened, her shoulders sagging as she knelt down beside you.
“Darling,” she said gently, brushing a strand of hair from your face. “What are you doing up so late?”
Before you could answer, Vi walked in, her hands shoved into her jacket pockets. Her usual playful smirk was nowhere to be seen. Instead, her face was etched with guilt.
“Hey, squirt,” she said, her voice quieter than usual. “What’s going on?”
You hesitated, clutching Bunny tightly. “You were yelling,” you said softly, your eyes brimming with unshed tears. “Are you… are you mad at each other?”
Caitlyn’s face crumpled, and Vi immediately crossed the room, sitting on the couch beside you. “Aw, kiddo,” Vi said, pulling you into her lap. “We didn’t mean for you to hear that. Sometimes grown-ups get upset, but it doesn’t mean we don’t love each other.”
“But you were so mad,” you said, your voice wobbling. “I thought… I thought maybe you didn’t love each other anymore. Or me.”
Caitlyn gasped softly, her hand flying to her chest. “Oh, my darling, no. Never. Vi and I love each other very much, and we love you more than anything in the world.”
Vi nodded, holding you close. “Yeah, squirt. We’re sorry we scared you. That was our bad.”
You sniffled, leaning into Vi’s chest as Caitlyn sat beside you, her arms wrapping around both of you. “I don’t want you to fight anymore,” you said quietly.
“We’ll do better,” Caitlyn promised, her voice firm. “You’re more important to us than anything else.”
Vi kissed the top of your head. “You’re stuck with us, kiddo. No matter what.”
You finally smiled, small but genuine. “I made you something,” you said, pointing to the coffee table.
Both moms turned to see your carefully arranged drawings and notes. Caitlyn picked up the first one, her eyes softening as she read the words. Vi reached for a picture of all three of you, a crooked smile tugging at her lips.
“Did you make these for us?” Caitlyn asked, her voice thick with emotion.
You nodded. “I wanted to remind you how much we love each other.”
Vi pulled you into another hug, her grin wide now. “Kid, you’re the smartest person in this house, hands down.”
Caitlyn laughed softly, her eyes shining as she kissed your cheek. “You have the biggest heart, darling. Thank you for reminding us of what matters most.”
The rest of the night was spent cuddled up on the couch, the tension from earlier completely gone. You sat between your moms, Bunny safely in your lap, as they put on your favorite movie.
Caitlyn wrapped an arm around you, her other hand resting on Vi’s shoulder. Vi leaned back, her arm draped across the back of the couch, her hand brushing Caitlyn’s hair affectionately.
“Popcorn, squirt?” Vi asked, holding out a bowl.
You nodded eagerly, grabbing a handful. “Thank you, Mama.”
Caitlyn smiled down at you. “Comfortable, darling?”
“Yeah,” you said, snuggling closer. “I love you, Mommy. I love you, Mama.”
“We love you too,” Caitlyn said, kissing your forehead.
“And we love each other,” Vi added, giving Caitlyn a playful nudge.
Caitlyn rolled her eyes fondly. “Yes, Vi. We love each other.”
You giggled, feeling warm and safe as the movie played on. In that moment, all your worries melted away, replaced by the certainty that your family’s love would always stay strong.
A/N: Honestly, I know that this might hit home for some people, and I hope that you guys are okay now and doing well or at least better (and I’m sorry you ever had to go through that). The next fanfic should be a lot fluffier to help with this one.

Complex feelings about copyright and Disney's appalling ethics aside, it does unsettle me how quickly people jump to make and monetize the most unnerving, depraved content imaginable about characters created for children the second it hits the public domain
#lilac rambles#lilac goes to the movies#look you don't have to defend yourselves to me i don't really care what you do#so please don't flood my inbox with all this stuff about why disney sucks and why gross stuff is good actually#im not here to fight#i get it. they suck and this feels vindicating#i just get unnerved watching people do terrible things to things created for children the second they can#maybe it's bc i don't see anyone making anything...idk...nice? and like...not freaky?#like it really feels like 'haha we're going to defile this creation bc it makes us feel good to destroy something created for families'#bc if it had just been the case with mickey id get it yknow#but people did this with sweet old pooh bear too#but maybe that's bc he's now a disney property idk#like maybe as other famous characters come into the public domain people won't do the same things#and honestly that will make me feel a lot better

I kinda liked Deadpool & Wolverine. Probably helps that, though I'm not a superhero person at all, I actually really like the Fox X-Men movies and I hadn't expected it to be a sort of celebration of that entire era of superhero movies.
#there's a sort of tyranny in the MCU's quality#like they don't necessarily make bad movies#but the expectation that every movie be good creates a standard where creators are minimized along with risks#which is why the GotG movies are actually so good because Gunn is actually given the freedom to do what he wants#i just want movies to take risks!#superhero movies used to be weird as hell and it was great and also often terrible but terrible is better than just fine#anyway I don't think this is the point of the movie at all#like it's kind of goofy to reflect on MCU movies not taking risks after watching one where they brought Hugh Jackman back for Wolverine#but engaging with that era gave me feelings folks

:3 :3
13. if you had to choose one POSITIVE word to describe yourself, what would it be?
i grant myself now the honor of being DETERMINED. not because i am particularly strong or withstanding under the pressures of learning new skills or being criticized, but because i am Not and i will make myself persist anyway.
14. do you collect anything?
Lee You Know About My Fanfiction Hoard Already.
but other than that, I genuinely do like collecting physical copies of video games. I like that the cases all look so nice grouped together except for when you get a freak one like super mario bros for the wii and it's all red and weird and why'd they do that it ruins my color scheme- But I like that I can hold these things and take care of them as best I can to make sure the contents of the discs and carts lasts as long as possible. Which will not be forever. But will be long enough for having been loved.
15. what's the last thing you ate?
Right now, I am Preparing for my great and long pilgrimage to the library (it's only 2 miles) by eating delicious hashbrowns and chicken.
31. least favourite clothing style that is currently popular
i don't know clothing styles i don't know clothing styles i don't kno
okay. google says that. "Prep School Aesthetic" is in style again. and i'm looking at these outfits and they are so shit. they're so bad. it's probably just because they're all like. fashion model or instagram photos, but when i think about anything in this style, i'm thinking about clothes that are worn thin and dirty, stitched up and patched. these are all so clean and unwrinkled and. i think i just don't understand the appeal of wearing the Outfit of a college professor that's so clearly not been lived in. it's too clean. get some fucking coffee stains on there.
[ask game]
#ask#i think i find fashion modelling off-putting in the same way i find modern terrible movie set design off-putting.#its so. sterile. uncanny valley effect to me.#im looking for information via the clothes to figure things out about the person im looking at but the clothes don't say anything but what#brand they are. which communicates things to people who care about brands im sure! but i dont.#actually speaking of modern set design it's a flaw of modern costuming too where you can tell the budget fell flat at the last minute#sorry im not gonna go off on a tangent here but it's so clear where the corners are cut in making costuming that looks Lived In#especially in like. fantasy shows.#it was one of the best parts of early seasons of game of thrones. the costumes were created. and then Weathered. Aged. Frayed. to give#the world more of an impression of being a place people lived in. okay. okay im done. sorry aksjdlasj

since i started star wars at like 14, i didn’t really get the full political implications or just the innate tragedy of it. it’s not supposed to be a happy story but there’s supposed to be hope. i always thought anakin wasn’t to blame going to the dark like maybe if he had a different master or wasn’t groomed by palpatine but in reality he was a grown ass man with full jedi training that chose to get married (“in secret” bc i swear everyone knew they was fuckin, they just didn’t want to banish him bc they saw him as the chosen one) and chose to kill younglings and massacre an entire people and kill another jedi and turn to the dark side. even if he had really strong emotions and felt things on an insanely intense level bc of midichlorians or whatever he still had full fledged jedi training to be able to control that and yeah the jedi temple was so corrupt in the way they were just cops with telekinetic abilities and fake buddhists but like HES GROWN. no matter what he experienced it was his choice. he was weak and he chose the dark side. so he is not babygirl. he’s hot. but he’s not baby girl. it was over even before he force choked padme cause he killed them kids he said no more jedi too bad so sad.
i never understood padme’s death tho it was kind of a plot hole to me just she just lost the will to live and just died after giving birth like what????even if she is force sensitive (ALLEGEDLY) that’s still crazy. i think it was soley for the anakin-vader plot so that he wouldn’t think of his actions or to maybe (idk if this was on purpose) justify his actions bc he had nothing left.
also sorry if u haven’t watched star wars yet…i recommend release order and clone wars and rebels animated series. forget about the mandalorian and the “ahsoka” show it literally doesn’t matter.
#ik there’s gonna be a new jedi order and theryre coming out with a new trilogy but sw is turning into marvel in the way u need to watch#all their stupid ass series to watch a bitchass movie or one show. if u content can’t stand alone it fucking sucks#also i hate when ppl quote yoda just bc he’s old doesn’t mean he’s not stupid#also i think the jedi values kinda ‘dehumanized’ jedis like leaving their families no attachments like what are y’all fighting for ur just#glorified cops. i think especially when u see the poverty in corusant which is supposed to be the planet for the AMAZING republic..some#peopl have never seen the sky…do something bout that. QUICKLY#i do think that disney star wars beyond liek the animated series is terrible. like they don’t know how to write. they just bring back old#problems and it’s the same tropes and maybe even the same characters#also rosario dawson allegedly attacked a queer person in public but the case was only dropped bc it was the pandemic and the person didn’t#have monies. like that doesn’t mean she’s innocent. sick sick people work for disney. sick sick people.#i hate the mandalorian so much. jon favero and dave filoni will pay.#imma pretend like some stuff just doesn’t exist. fun djarin who?? the mandalorian liek jango fett? oh sabine wren like in the animated show!#i rant abt sw bc i love it sm but i hate it. it was also created by a white american man so like…and more white american men make it worse..

Heather is a huge fan of horror movies, but especially body horror and splatter horror. I just gave her my weird thing where I mostly watch horror movies but for some reason only read mystery books
#wiz.txt#oversimplification because i've been reading a lot of nonfiction lately for some reason ?#and just rereading dracula a billion times which is probably not good for my mental health#anyway i would like to make heather not have to do that because she does not have to be like me#oc: heather#97#i like the idea that she is just creating the types of stories she wants to see#but they are. well. A Lot#she had to stop asking her husband to proofread for her b/c it stressed him out too much#lou does like some horror but he's more in the realm of gothic horror or '30s/'40s monster movies#the gore stuff he Struggles with#he mostly just watches dracula movies#and starts stressing himself out about it#because i also projected onto him#but just my weird thing about categorizing movies where dracula is a dad#he doesn't make a spreadsheet about it or anything because he's more well adjusted than i am#he's just like ugh this guy reminds me of my terrible father...who is also a vampire...#oc: lou#since i talked abt him in the tags so much i'll be looking for this later -_-

So with the terrible Minecraft movie trailer dropping,
I've seen a lot of people bringing up better stories in the world of Minecraft, like Story Mode or the books or the SMPs, but may I add another option that would be a way better use of your time and money than the Minecraft movie (esp cuz its free)?
Animation Vs. Minecraft
(Note: contains out of context spoilers for this series to give you a sneak peek of what's waiting for you)
There's a good chance you've seen the first video, since it's one of the most watched minecraft videos on youtube, made by the same guy who did Animation vs Animator.
youtube
But did you know that the stick figures pick the game back up and continue the series?
There are now three completed seasons packed with fun episodic content that naturally blossoms into a larger, engrossing story that amounts to /several hours of animated content/. It's got fun characters, gorgeous fight scenes, and even musical numbers, all told with next to no dialogue!
The whole thing is a love letter to Minecraft, with way more passion and knowledge of the game than WBS.
New episodes would show off the latest updates, like when the main characters explored the ancient cities and lush caves before they were officially released.
There are even homages to the Minecraft animation community, such as the episode featuring Monster School (my favorite part of this is the way they purposefully imitate the old janky animation in Herobrine's movements)
Not a fan of piglins always being villains? While there's certainly some bad piglins in this series (though I'd argue they're under duress), the main cast also befriends some, include this adorable piglin child.
Still not over Reuben's death from MSM? Well they've also got a pig (named Reuben by the community), and it both doesn't die, and occasionally does some badassery himself!
Speaking of the action, this series doesn't just reference minecraft's world and creatures: it expands on the mechanics and worldbuilding, creating avenues for some truly incredible action that can only be achieved within minecraft. It takes full advantage of the medium and world.
My personal favorite example of this is the team's expansion on the Lucky Blocks mod, exploring the idea of a "randomizer" power to its fullest extent.
The action scenes are the kind where you have to watch them five times over because each character is doing something completely unique and fun.
Here is all the episodes of season 1 compiled in one video to get you started, though there are also playlists out there:
youtube
All in all, this series is funny, gripping, and adorable, and is worth your attention far better than some corporate schlock.

purity and cancel culture make people think artists who write, draw, sing or make things about subjects that are (rightfully) considered disturbing and socially unacceptable — as well as fans who like fictional things that are (rightfully) considered disturbing and socially unacceptable — are “red flags”, “predators”, “deserving of having their hard drives checked”, etc, when in reality people can like or make fictional things about subjects that are (rightfully) considered disturbing and socially unacceptable without condoning these things in real life.
artists who create (fictional) contents about triggering subjects aren’t automatically “predators who condone these terrible things in real life”. artists who create (fictional) contents about triggering subjects are just artists who create (fictional) contents about triggering subjects.
people who like (fictional) contents about triggering subjects aren’t automatically “predators who condone these terrible things in real life”. people who like (fictional) contents about triggering subjects are just normal people who like (fictional) contents about triggering subjects. for reasons that aren’t nobody’s business but their own.
(as long as they don’t act out these things in real life and hurt real people, they’re normal people like you and me, and 99.99% of people who like fucked up fictional things are normal people who don’t hurt anyone in real life.
if someone watched a fucked up movie and acted out the antagonist’s crimes in real life, then it still meant that this individual was already fucked up and a predator, and they would have done terrible things whether or not they watched a fucked up film; the art itself don’t make people do terrible things.)
art has never been restricted to only rainbow and sunshine and unicorns.
art is also about the depiction of macabre, things that are disgusting, unpleasant, violent and unacceptable. (as long as nobody in real life actually gets hurt.)
you can’t claim to “accept art and artists” and then say “but if you write fics about (X) or if you like this movie then you’re a red flag and are disgusting 🤢”
it’s absolutely okay if you personally hate these types of fictional works that revolve around triggering subjects that are (rightfully) disgusting and socially unacceptable, it’s okay because it just means these types of works are not for you (no one forces you to watch, read or listen to them), but it’s not okay if you start harassing artists who create or people who enjoy art you personally hate, just because you hate them and therefore you believe other people must hate them too or else they’re terrible people.
you are a terrible person if you harass anybody in real life over fictional things that aren’t real.
you are the one who aren’t able to separate fiction from reality.

Which is a shame, because there are criticisms to be made of how Snyder tried to accomplish the things he was going for with his films.
I didn't like everything the snyderverse tried to do- many elements of it were overwrought and it suffered badly from trying to speedrun setting development to keep pace with the MCU- but I feel like a lot of the criticisms surrounding the thing are more people not liking what the films were going for rather than the ideas actually just being inherently bad
#forcing Superman to break his moral code to save lives? where even his power can't create the ideal outcome he seeks? good idea!#but Man of Steel ain't no Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow#and it was a terrible idea to do that in the very first movie of the franchise#(unless you think Superman's ironclad morality is a stupid problem that needs to be fixed ASAP)#zack snyder#dceu

Creator Spotlight: @themetalhiro
Hi, I’m Metal! I’m a freelance artist from good ol’ New Jersey. My favorite things to work with are a lot of bright colors, exaggerated poses, and candid scenarios. I try to farm sensible chuckles whenever I can, so I’m also big into comics. I love making them about my life, and the media I’m into, and one day I’d like to publish my own series! Thank you to everyone who has gotten me this far!!
Check out Metal's interview below!
Did you originally have a background in art? If not, how did you start?
I guess so! It’s funny, I don’t remember a single time in my life that I wasn’t drawing as a hobby… somewhere in middle school (a little late, I know.) I put the pieces together that animated movies were made by artists, and that it wasn’t just for fun, they were paid to do it. The moment I discovered people could be paid to make art, I decided I would do that, too. Now I’m here!
How has your style developed over the years?
I think the best way to answer this would be with an example! Over the last few years, I have made more of an effort to draw more intentionally, which sounds silly. Now, I put more thought into my poses and step out of my comfort zone with shape language and composition. I had a phase where I drew everyone with a huge, perfectly circular head and no nose. That definitely did not lend much variety...
Which 3 famous artists (dead or alive) would you invite to your dinner party?
Ack! I’m so terrible at history! I’d love to give a well-thought-out answer about fine artists of old, but I don't think we’d have much in common… Most artists I admire and who have driven me forward creatively are the people behind comics I’ve read. Andrew Hussie, Bryan Lee O’Malley, Eiichiro Oda... these guys have inspired me greatly and had a heavy influence in developing my art style and sense of humor. I’d love to ask them questions about their processes and upcoming projects. I think it would make for an entertaining night!
Over the years as an artist, what were your biggest inspirations behind your creativity?
Outside of pure aesthetics like searing bright colors, layered clothing, and loud noises…. the best and most inspiring moments in my life were those surrounded by friends and loved ones! I cherish the hell out of memories of hanging around in fun locations, trying weird food together, and impromptu midnight walks... so I try my best to capture that atmosphere and my own memories in my work when I can, even if I’m imposing fictional characters on top of them. That’s always the core of it.
What is a medium that you have always been intrigued by but would never use yourself?
I would never permanently refuse a medium, but every time I pick up clay, I’m like a baby using its hands for the first time. Absolutely dreadful. If one day I could make and paint a figurine like the ones I admire in videos, that would be awesome... But for now, I’m not counting on it.
How do you want to evolve as a creator?
I’ve had an absolute blast drawing fanart over the years, and it’s certainly played a massive role in my growth as an artist. But my dream has always been to publish my own stories for y'all to enjoy! I have lots of worlds I want to introduce to you before I’m old and gray. I want to get faster, work harder, and get better at drawing interesting settings so I can get the wheels turning as soon as possible. I also want to stop avoiding the color blue like a coward.
What do you wish you knew when you first started out creating art that you know now?
Pay your taxes quarterly. Tablets will break at the exact moment you need them most, so have a spare. Wear your blue light glasses. You’re going to need to wear a brace on every joint on the right side of your body. It can be lonely sitting at your desk all day. The car on the side of the road that costs $1000 cash….. don’t trust it!!!
Who on Tumblr inspires you and why?
@cranity—They use absolutely beautiful colors and weighty line work. Everything looks so sharp and clean! I wanna put it all up on my wall!
@vewn—Their ability to crank out quality short films and illustrations packed with detail is incredible. The off-kilter perspective they use really sells disorientation and catches your attention like nothing else.
@nelnal—They have absolutely banger character designs again and again, I can’t believe one person’s mind can come up with so many creative ideas!
@jinx88kc—They have a beautiful and recognizable style, and the way they incorporate animation into their illustrations sometimes is SO cool!
Thanks for stopping by, Metal! For more of Metal’s work, follow their Tumblr, @themetalhiro! If you haven't seen their Meet the Artist piece, be sure to check it out here!
