after the war, you were one of the scientists allowed to stay back and continue studying pandora. you had gotten your own lab that was deeper in the forest so you could continue studying what you loved most, plants. as a botanist and biologist the world of pandora amazed you, even after a few years you would never cease to be starstruck at what you saw.
jake would occasionally stop by to visit. his insights as he became more knowledgeable on the forest were invaluable, but you also just liked seeing him. as he dropped by more, you could feel yourself falling for him more and more. it was futile though, you knew he would choose a na’vi woman eventually, especially as he became more settled in as the new olo’eyktan.
during one of his routine visits, you both climbed on top of your lab to watch the stars. he pointed various constellations out and rambled on about their symbolism. a few hours later, you were coming back down into your lab. while the lab could fit na’vi people in, the boxed space did make them prone to small accidents. you shouldn’t have been surprised when jake knocked off a jar as he was walking to the door. you laughed as you bent down to grab the jar and froze. of course. of course the one jar that would actually have consequences was the one knocked down.
“jake you should- you should leave, i don’t know how long it takes for this plants effects to fully wear off” you pressed your eyes shut, hoping he could leave before you embarrassed yourself
as you heard the door close you breathed a sigh of relief and opened your eyes only to see jake towering over you. he knelt down and raised a hand to cup your cheek, it almost covered half your skull. he brought you closer and brought his head to the crook of your neck. you could feel him inhale your scent and your eyes almost rolled back, you don’t know how long you could take it. it was too much. he was too much.
he pulled back and stared at you again, his face came closer before his lips brushed yours
“do you want me as much as i want you?” he whispered
you didn’t give him a verbal response, opting to instead grab his face and kiss him. you couldn’t help it, his voice, his face, his hands, it was all intoxicating. he kissed you back, quickly gaining dominance as he swiped his tongue on your bottom lip. when you whimpered he slipped his tongue in, you moaned as you felt him in your mouth, you couldn’t wait anymore. you both broke apart, panting. he grabbed at your shirt, you started unbuttoning it but he got impatient and ripped it. he tore off your bra and sighed as he laid you on the floor and started leaving kisses down your neck, making sure to leave marks, as he went down your chest and stomach he left a slew of purple and pink blotches. you were his and he was going to make sure everyone knew. eventually he got down to your stomach and you lifted your hips to help him take off your pants. he stepped out of his and youre eyes widened. he was big. too big. how was it going to fit? you’d come this far and now you wouldn’t even be able to go through with it. you were going to loose your mind.
his hands on your jaw broke you out of your minor panic, bringing you up so you could stare into his eyes.
“i’ve got you, don’t worry”
that was all you needed to relax again, you nodded and laid back as he started kissing your neck again. while doing that he began to tease your folds, sliding up and down before eventually pushing one in. you threw your head out and repressed a moan. he added another and started gently scissoring you open, once he felt your walls start to clamp down and your breathing become erratic, he pulled his fingers out. he brought them up to your mouth
“taste”
you did what you were told, barely getting half of his finger in as you began to taste yourself. once he was satisfied, he took them out and pulled you on top of him. he aligned himself with your entrance and began pulling you down slowly. you felt a burning sensation as you began to descend, once you bottomed out the pain started fading into pleasure. you looked up at him, and saw he was glancing down. following his gaze you looked down to your stomach. his length was kissing your cervix, and bulging out. you could see the impression on your stomach. you grabbed his arm and looked at him, he started to move.
as he started pushing in and out you started seeing stars. he pulled all the way out only to slam back in. you’d never felt this full, he picked up the pace and put a hand on your waist, it wrapped all the way around. you couldn’t focus on anything besides the feeling of him inside your walls, you pushed your head into his neck, hoping to stifle your moans.
he caught on to what you were doing, and changed positions to where you were on the floor, hips never stilling. he came down to your ear, you felt his warm breath as he whispered
“don’t hold out on me, i wanna hear how good i make you feel” you arched your back, and started letting go. he started to move even faster, each thrust hitting your cervix, you felt your toes curl and let go. the pulsing of your walls caused him to finish not long after, and he pumped you full before pulling out.
you both caught your breath on the cool floor. as you turned over you began to laugh
“that’s some syulang”

✿ The Home Sweet Home Legacy Challenge ✿
Info ✿
view on google docs
Use the tag #HSHLegacy so I can see your posts!!
If there are any rules that you don’t vibe with, just skip over them!
Some of the rules are centered around gameplay and some are more story-based!
You don’t have to complete aspirations or max out careers if you don’t want to, unless it’s otherwise specified in the generation’s rules!
Play with any lifespan you prefer.
Read one generation ahead to get all of the information you need!
Mods are allowed and encouraged; especially ones that make the game more realistic. I’ve linked a couple mods in some generations that can add to the gameplay!
If you have the more traits in cas mod, pick whatever extra traits you think would fit your sim!
Rules for the generations under the cut ✿
GENERATION ONE ✿
You were raised in the city by strict parents who pushed you to be the best student in school. Despite your ambitious nature you hated the fact that you had no autonomy or free time. When you became a young adult you packed up your belongings, your pet and your limited funds and you moved to the countryside. Your cottage is rundown and outdated…it’s going to take a lot of work (and money) to make it a home. You quickly realize you might not actually be cut out for this life, but you are too stubborn and proud to give up and move back in with your parents.
Traits: Squeamish, Ambitious, High Maintenance
Aspiration: Country Caretaker OR Freelance Botanist
Career: Start with a part time job and/or odd jobs until your sim ages up into an adult, then settle into a full time job of your choice. To make additional money, you can also sell harvestables from your garden or your farm animals (if you want to go down that route!)
Starting Out: Start in Henford-on-Bagley with your pet in a small, rundown cottage with 2-3 bedrooms. You can use money cheats at this point, but remember: small rundown cottage…don’t use those extra funds for nice appliances!! When your house is done, set your funds to 450.
Rules:
Your lot must have the ‘simple living’ lot trait
Reach level 5 in: Handiness, Cooking and Gardening
Befriend a few locals
Meet and fall in love with an outdoorsy sim with a large tight knit family
Spend every holiday with your partner’s family, and have a solid relationship with most (if not all) of them
Have 2 kids
Take a vacation for every sim’s birthday (if you can’t afford it, throw a birthday party on a public lot instead)
Renovate the cottage over time (get new appliances, wallpaper/flooring, etc.)
Optional Rules:
Play with the ‘off the grid’ lot trait
Max out Handiness, Cooking and/or Gardening
Make the sim’s parents and make them have a negative relationship
GENERATION TWO ✿
You grew up in a small, quiet town. After hearing about your parent’s childhood in the city, you were inspired to give it a try. You say goodbye to your loving family and set out for San Myshuno. You find an apartment and a part time job, then you get a few roommates to help with the bills. When you are faced with an accidental pregnancy, your roommates rally in support.
Traits: Loyal, Creative, Slob
Aspiration: City Native OR Painter Extraordinaire
Career: Max out the Retail part time job before quitting and selling paintings full time
Starting Out: Move into an apartment in San Myshuno with 2-3 roommates (you can use the roommate feature but I recommend actually having them in the household!)
Rules:
Max the painting skill
Have Game Night, or something similar, once a week with your roomies
Have an accidental pregnancy after a one night stand (if your sim can’t become pregnant and the other sim can, move the baby into your household when they’re born!)
Raise your kid as a single parent (with the help of your roomies)
Once your child becomes a teen, move out into your own place (it could be in San Myshuno or another world)
Marry as an elder
Optional Rules:
As an elder, marry the sim you had a one night stand with (that ultimately resulted in the birth of your child)
Become famous (because of your paintings)
GENERATION THREE ✿
Just as the expression goes, it took a village to raise you. You were a wild, rebellious child with a love for athletics. Even though you were surrounded by love as a kid (not just from your biological family, but from your parent’s roommates) you always wanted to have siblings. You end up marrying one of your childhood best friends and you settle down in a quiet neighborhood.
Traits: Family Oriented, Hot Headed, Athletic
Aspiration: Big Happy Family
Career: Athletic
Starting Out: Move into a house in a world of your choice with your partner.
Rules:
Max the parenting skill and the athletic skill
Have 4 children
Reach the summit of Mt. Komorebi at some point in your life
Be a hands-on parent: play with your kids, build them a treehouse, throw birthday parties, be as involved as possible in their lives
Go through rough patches with your spouse due to your anger issues
Eventually decide to get a divorce after trying to make it work (or if you have RPO, you can opt for separation instead)
You and your ex-spouse must live on the same lot and continue to raise your kids together
Sleep in your workout shed in the backyard
Optional Rules:
Remarry your ex-spouse
Reach level 5 of the handiness skill
GENERATION FOUR ✿
Although you and your siblings were loved by your parents, the living situation after their divorce was not ideal. Because of that, you vowed to never get married. You head off to university immediately after graduation and start on your path toward success.
Traits: Ambitious, Noncommittal, Genius
Aspiration: Fabulously Wealthy OR Academic
Career: Business OR Politics
Starting Out: Enroll in University and move into a dorm
Rules:
Max the research and debate skill, and the logic skill
Reach the top of your career
Get the best possible grades throughout your life
Have at least two romantic relationships at all times…you are never faithful to one sim
Have two kids with two different partners
(Hesitantly) become official with one of your flings and move in together
When your partner proposes, reject them and have them move out
Go on a post-breakup trip with your kids to Sulani
Rarely discipline your children. In fact, rarely interact with them
Optional Rules:
Never retire
Move at least three times
GENERATION FIVE ✿
Growing up, your parent was pretty distant and you never had a great relationship with them. They were always working, talking about work, or spending time with their significant others. One of your favorite memories of your childhood was your trip to Sulani. You and your sibling decide to move out together and live there permanently. It’s rough living in a new place with limited funds, but the two of you have some creative solutions.
Traits: Loyal, Bro, Kleptomaniac
Aspiration: Party Animal
Career: Criminal
Starting Out: Move into a small house in Sulani with your sibling.
Rules:
Max the charisma skill
Reach the top of your career
Earn money from the criminal career, stealing and pickpocketing
Always maintain a close relationship with your sibling (who can also follow in your criminal footsteps, or work part time / odd jobs instead)
Throw parties regularly and pickpocket the whole time
Have a rivalry with another criminal that turns into love at some point
Your sibling eventually moves out…and your partner moves in!
Have one child
Have a super tacky over the top wedding
Optional Rules:
 Max the mischief skill
(If you have this mod, you can pickpocket when your sim is younger! If you have Basemental you can also become a dealer to make money. If you have this mod, I recommend using the enemies to lovers interactions!)
And that’s all for now! I’m breaking this up into two parts, so the next five generations will be coming sometime (fairly) soon!

Ya'll know de-aged Danny, but get ready for.....
De-aged Tucker!
So, the trio has split up as they got older, still friends, but just going on with their own lives.
Sam went on to connect more with High society and becoming well-respected, as well as running multiple charity events and a botanist on the side.
Danny went ghost hunting with his family, then when he became an adult, his parents pushed for him to go to college to pursue his dreams.
Tucker?
Well, Tucker has been doing some... stuff. If he had to say.
Said stuff involved magic, another secret government branch, wizards and tech. Suffice to say, Tucker has been leading a very busy life in the dark, he's keeping it from Sam and Danny because he doesn't want to involve then in this when they have their own lives to look after.
This government branch has nothing to do with ghosts, everything to do with magic and ancient artifacts, however. He's been tracking them down for years now, constantly hacking into many of their bases and preventing them from doing whatever they wanted to do.
Eventually, however, they managed to catch wind of him and he, well, he kinda slipped up and they caught him. Not that he couldn't get out of it, nor was it the first time it happened, but still. However, this time they found him far too dangerous to continue to exist in this world, so what did they do?
Reverse his clock and banish him to another dimension, of course!
So now here Tucker was, a 10-year-old boy with none of his usual equipment and lost in an entirely other world without any help and any variety. He only had what he had on him at the time, his clothes-that were now too big for him- a highly advanced arm bracer that he regularly wore and uses for hacking- thankfully able to fit on his arm because of the nanobots it was made from- his beret and his glasses.
Well. Fuck.
So of course, he first finds a place that he could own as a child without being put in foster care, an abandoned warehouse, perhaps? Yea that would work, just needs a little fixing up.
Of course, if there's anything to bust along the way trying to find a way home, then of course he would bust it.

A Floral Inconvenience
Tumblr media
You came into Twisted Wonderland with nothing but the clothes on your back, a literally fiery cat, and an immune system not conditioned to handle the foreign antibodies in the air, earth, or water. It was honestly a miracle that you hadn’t caught some sort of incurable disease, probably because most diseases here required magical output to survive, like plants and water. You weren’t immune to your own feelings though, and magical disease and illnesses have a funny way of adapting themselves to their potential host. It was then that you found yourself prepared for springtime hay fever and allergies, after all pollen was pollen no matter where you were at. What was unexpected, and thus not prepared for, was the disease known as hanahaki, or the flower sickness. Long ago, there existed a family of mages that lived in a small mountain village deep within a jungle that was established by a family of mages. The family protected their village with fantastical and magical abilities, each unique and extraordinary as generation from generation grew. One of those mages, the Flower Bride, had the ability to grow a magnificent array of flora with just the wave of her hand! Flor de mayo, jacarandas, figs and vines all made their home with the Flower Bride. She had a heart so full of feelings, love for her home, family, and her beloved, of course, that her very emotions affected how dazzling those blooms were. The Flower Bride then decided that others should be able to demonstrate their love in the same beauteous display as she did: after all, who wouldn’t want their love developing into only the most lovely blooms? As such, hanahaki was born. Some see it was a blessing, a push, an opportunity for one to confront their feelings. It’s a realization that what they’re feeling is indeed true, the type of love that can only be achieved in fairytales. Others saw it as an inconvenience: after all, sometimes it just wasn’t the right time to confess your love, or they’d be coughing up petals mid-speech, kind of annoying honestly. Yet the sickness would continue until they acknowledge their feelings, the love died down, or it became a chronic illness. Officially dubbed hanahaki by researchers in the East, the disease was also referred to as the flower sickness, being twitterpated, and sometimes even the lovesick florae by the general population. The most commonly afflicted persons fit into two categories: the positively, without a doubt, enamored sort, the twitterpated or lovesick sort of folk. Or, they were the kind to bury their feelings deep deep down and just one day die. It wasn’t unique to any singular species either. It had adapted to afflict humans, beastmen, and even merfolk. Why, not even fae were immune despite their natural immunity to magical disease. Really, it shouldn’t have been any surprise that the emotionally stunted students of Night Raven College would be prime targets for their own bout of hanahaki.

Dialogue Prompts
“Why is your trash can full of flower petals? Are you secretly a botanist, or is there something you're not telling me?”
“So, I hear you've been coughing up daisies lately. Got any plans to enter the flower business?”
“You know you have it bad when you start sneezing petals every time your crush walks by. At least it's a colorful allergy!”
“I can't believe you're faking a cough just to get some attention. And you're using fake flowers for the petals? That's commitment!”
“I think the local florist is in love with me. Their shop is making a killing off my Hanahaki. Do you think they'll give me a discount?”
“You've got to stop sending secret admirer bouquets to yourself. The delivery guy is starting to think you have a dozen secret admirers.”
“I've heard of wearing your heart on your sleeve, but wearing petals in your hair is a whole new level of fashion statement.”
“I have a steady, loving partner. you on the other hand have a left hand and a sunflower cough.”
“Why'd I have to get a nose full of lilies? I'm allergic, this is so unfair.”
“You think with all the lavender on my head I could make my own syrup out of it?”
“No, I've been practicing my sleight of hand! Watch as I make a bouquet of tulips magically appear—ACK!”
“No, I haven't been growing marigolds out of my ass. Why would you even ask that?!”
“Here, your favorite flower! Hmm? Where'd I get them? Uh, I just found them, around…”
“I'd rather have the thorniest, pesticide ridden roses grow in my mouth before I'd ever admit having any sort of affection for them!”
“Sooo, are you gonna apologize for puking dahlias all over my breakfast?”
“I've never heard of a flower sickness, are you talking about seasonal allergies?”
“Look, even if confessing would let me get rid of the poppies, I'd rather not. Maybe I'll just learn how to make poppy seed muffins or something.”
“Is this normal here?” “Only for the emotionally unavailable folk.” “Ah, so it is.”
“Dude, are your freckles turning into baby's breath?” “AHH!”
“Aren't lotus flowers really good for your skin? Babeeey, I'm set for life—” “NOT WHEN THEY'RE GROWING OUT OF YOUR EARS!”
“Look, I care for you and want you to get laid, but imagine all the money we'd save on tea if you kept growing chamomile from your head.”
“Blehhhg…” “You know I always knew I'd be holding your hair back as you puked your stomach out at a party, I thought it be from the alcohol though, not flowers.”
“You know, some people pay a lot of money for Hanahaki bouquets, have you considered—OW! It was just a suggestion!”
“I'm so happy that you confessed first.” “Why?” “If I had to dig out another hydrangea petal from my teeth, I was gonna lose it.”
“Man, sunflowers have got to be the worst to be puking up.” “Nah man, it's roses and their thorns! They scrap up all up your gums, my dentist bill after was ridiculous!”

Wedded - Dragon! John Price x Reader | Chapter 1
Tumblr media
When you are mistaken by a dragon as his promised bride, you unexpectedly need to learn how to live with your new husband. After all, the dragon made a deal, and he wants his end of the bargain - you.
Current | Next Chapter
The results of the poll were clear. Dragon Price is first to come up and be written. This was also the only option who’s fic had multiple chapters sooo, woop woop! Hope you all enjoy :3
CW: f!reader, dragon Price, violence in future chapters
Word Count: 3028
Walking into the town, your eyes curiously looked around, an excitement blooming inside you – one you always found yourself in any time you got to a new part of the land, finding cities and villages you never knew existed.
This time, you’d made it to a village just south of the roaring mountains. A range that spanned the border of the land near the east. It was a relatively small village, and as you walked through to the marketplace, you immediately became aware of how close-knit the community was, as everyone seemed to know everyone.
Making you stick out like a sore thumb.
Still, your travels hadn’t gotten you this far if that was something that scared you off. And without further thought, you stepped up to one of the market brokers. The man was a botanist, obviously, selling herbs and wildflowers, your keen eyes curiously scanning around.
“Hello, madam!” The vendor perked up, giving you a once over, noting the large bag slung over your shoulder, as well as the leather-wrapped stick you were leaning on. “New to town?”
“Good morning.” You smiled politely. “Yes I am. It’s very nice.” You said, though as you looked around, it was evident that a scuffle had recently taken place. Broken wood and scorch marks riddling the buildings around.
“Can I help you find anything?” He asked, that typical salesman smile on his face.
Giving a small smile back, you shook your head. “No, I’m just looking for now.” You declined.
As you perused, you recognised most of the man’s wares. Within your own bag that was currently slung over your shoulder, you kept several exact specimens like the ones laid out before you.
After all, you’d been collecting them.
For the last three years, you’d been scouring the land, finding and testing herbs and wildflowers for their potencies and effects. What was once a hobby had become your life, with you abandoning your old one in the process. Yet not a day passed where you regretted your newfound freedom.
“Say, you seem very knowledgeable in this.” The vendor suddenly spoke up and you glanced at him, tilting your head in curiosity. Seeing that, the man explained. “Your eyes zero in on the rarer plants and skip over the common ones. Not many know them like I do.” He complimented.
“Oh, yes.” You smile. “I’m… well, a researcher. I’m writing a field guide on the plants of this continent and their effects.” You said, slight pride in your voice. Though it wasn’t a secret per se, saying it out loud was not something you often did. But giving the man’s profession, you figured it was worth a shot. “I’m looking for some rarer plants and I must ask, what is this one?” You questioned, pointing at a flower to the right. It had white, pointed petals that slowly turned blue the closer it got to the core, yellow spore marking the centre while the stem and leaves itself were green. Nothing like you’d ever seen before.
“That? Oh, that is a mountainscale lily.” He smiled, picking up the dried specimen. “Very rare. Found only in caves high up in the mountains.” As he said that, he turned and pointed to the looming mountain behind the village.
“I’ve never seen them before.” You mused, leaning in to get a better look.
“They’re native to this region. Only grow under very specific circumstances.” He explained and you nodded, curious.
“Is this in a place I could reach?” You questioned, making the vendor frown.
“I would not advise-“ “Ah! Hold on!” A woman suddenly interrupted, sliding in beside the merchant, her hand on his arm. The man looked a little startled, glancing at her in confusion, to which the woman nudged her head in your direction with an easy smile. “Look at the lady, she’s well equipped! Don’t be underestimating her now.” She teased, bumping her hip into his before squeezing his arm to get his attention and sending him a pointed stare, one you felt you shouldn’t be witnessing. At it, the man glanced from her to you – who was standing there confused – before grunting as he looked away from you, muttering under his breath.
Confused, you turned to the woman who turned to face you while smiling wide.
“Sorry about that. I couldn’t help but overhear.”
“That’s… okay.” You hummed, shifting your hiking stick to your other hand, a little put off by her sudden appearance. “So, am I correct in saying you think I could get to where the flowers grow?” You questioned, the woman seeming to light up.
“I am positive! In fact, I would like to ask to make a deal with you. Hire you, if you will.”
That was both intriguing and concerning at the same time. Anyone could take one glance at you and see you weren’t exactly a mercenary for hire.
“Darla, no-“ The man started, placing his hand on her shoulder, but the woman just shrugged it off.
“Hush now, I’m sure it will be no problem.” She smiled, keeping her eyes on you, to which the man grabbed her elbow, forcefully turning her to face him.
“Don’t. This is our problem. We must bear the consequences.” He said pointedly, but Darla scoffed and yanked her arm free.
“We have a perfectly capable young woman here.” She spoke, glaring at him.
“I’m sorry, what’s going on?” You asked, confused and before the man could say anything, Darla stepped in.
“These flowers. They have a healing capability. About a month ago, our village was raided and our supply stolen.” She spoke, a resentment sounding in her voice. “It was supposed to last us through the winter but now new flowers need to be plucked. The problem is that gathering them requires skill and knowledge. No one but my husband can do it, but he injured his leg during the raid and hasn’t been able to make the trip.” She said while gesturing to him.
“Oh. I’m sorry to hear.” You frowned in sympathy, looking at the vendor who had a defeated look, sitting down on his stool behind his stall. When looking around at the village, the evidence of a scuffle was clear. And not a small one. Not only were there the ruins and scorch marks around you, some houses were even burned down on the outskirts – which you’d seen when coming into town.
“Listen.” The man spoke up, catching your attention again. “The mountains aren’t easy to traverse, especially with an injury. It’s not a safe road. Think about this.” He warned, looking at his plants, avoiding your eyes.
Your brows creased together in thought as you then looked at the woman. “So… what is it you want?”
Darla perked up, her eyes landing on you before turning pleading as she walked around the stall, grasping your hands and holding them up between you and her. “We will tell you how to find the flowers. And in return, I beg you to retrieve a satchel full of them for our village. We cannot survive winter without them.”
Blinking in surprise, you looked from her, down to the pressed flower laying on the wood of the stall. You’d never heard of a flower which had capabilities such as that.
“I-“ You glanced up at her again. Her hand was holding yours tightly.
“You can take this one for free.” She then quickly spoke, grabbing the pressed flower and pushing it into your hand.
Frowning, you looked down at it, briefly studying the colours and make before sighing, looking at the vendor again, who was still looking down. While the thought of a flower having such potent capabilities was hard to believe - not without it having some sort of addicting feature – the opportunity to study it was too good to pass up. “Okay.”
At your simple word, Darla lit up, grinning wide, though it was almost scary as she then turned to her husband and hugged him. “We’re going to be alright!” Before you could say anything, she moved back over to you, gripping your shoulders. “You will save every young maiden in our village from a terrible and ill fate.”
Letting out a bit of a confused chuckle, you leaned back a bit. “Why, does the flower not affect men?”
At that, Darla cackled a laugh – a surprisingly pleasant sound.
“Come, let me give you a map and explain how to get there.” She smiled, placing her hand on your backpack, gently pushing you with her, leading you across the market.
And in the haste of her offering you a place to stay at her impressively lavish two-story house, food, a map into the mountains and all the instructions that came with it, you failed to realise that the herbal vendor never came to the house, nor that neither him or Darla wore wedding rings.
- - - -
Leaning on your stick, you paused at the edge of the trail, huffing and puffing.
Since the early hours of dawn you’d been walking, resting periodically to make sure you’d be fit to continue.
According to Darla, the hike to the nearest cave containing the wildflowers was ten hours – on top of the hour you’d already travelled by horse together with the woman.
She had been incredibly helpful, sticking close to you and repeatedly thanking you for being willing to do this. Hell, it almost felt like she was glued to your hip until the moment you reached the foot of the mountain, where she was all too eager to send you off on your way, taking the horses back home.
Not that you blamed her.
Walking over to the rocky face of the mountain, you leaned against it, staying away from the trail’s edge, not to keen to fall down it. Shifting down to sit, you pulled your backpack off your back, digging in to get your journal where you flicked to the most recent entry.
Opening the page, you carefully picked up the pressed mountainscale lily, turning it in your hand. Before parting ways with Darla, you’d asked her many questions about the flower’s properties. She’d seemed a little flustered, almost unwilling to talk about it.
Glancing down at your notes, you pulled out the charcoal pencil from the spine of your journal, drawing a line down from the drawing you made of the flower.
Hunching forward, you scribbled a single word before a loud thud suddenly echoed through the forest down below, making you snap your head up, looking over the sea of orange-leafed trees before you. Far in the distance, birds rose to the air, making you hum curiously.
Glancing back down at the journal, you placed the flower back between the pages before closing the book, getting back to your feet again, ready to pass the next few hours mulling over your new hypothesis, that one word echoing in your mind.
‘Addictive?’
- - - -
Pulling your coat tightly around yourself, you shivered, tying the strings directly under your chin. Even with the sun shining fully in the sky, the air was frigid – a cause of both the height you were walking at, as well as the nearing of winter.
You’d long since pulled out your woollen hat, keeping yourself as warm as possible, your hands feeling like ice.
Holding your map tight, your eyes glanced from the parchment and up the trail you were currently on. It was small, a goat’s path more than anything and one misstep would result in you plummeting down onto rocks far below.
Yet as you looked right, you couldn’t help but be in absolute awe by the view.
As far as your eyes could see, the forest stretched. Along the way, a wide river shimmered in the slowly setting sun, everything bathed in a gorgeous light, enhancing the golden leaves of the autumn trees. If you weren’t at threat of losing the light, you’d have sat down to draw it.
Looking back at the map, you breathed out, exhausted. Your feet hurt, every step making you question whether or not this was worth all the hassle. Yet as you grasped onto the brittle rock on your left and rounded the bend, you saw it.
A large opening sat in the side of the mountain, a plateau in front of it providing plenty of space. The cave opening alone must have been the size of nearly two houses beside each other.
And about ten meters in front of you, you saw it.
A mountainscale lily gently flowed back and forth in the breeze, the petals gently moving.
Firmly pushing off your stick, you began walking towards it, crouching beside the flower.
It was small, incomplete and evidently not growing in ideal circumstances, too exposed to the wind.
Leaving it where it was, you kept going. The cave sat about thirty meters ahead and your heart began thudding in excitement.
Every herb and wildflower you’d documented so far was one you either already knew, or had vaguely heard of. All of them were known, most likely researched, used in experiments until every purpose was exploited. But this one? You’d never heard of a flower like this. And the thought of you being the first to properly document it? It filled you with an eager excitement.
Reaching the cave, instantly you saw the lily’s on the edges of the opening, blooming in the dirt-like ground that littered the plateau you were standing on, the forest behind you and far below.
Taking off your backpack, you moved over the left, crouching by a cluster of the flowers. Digging into your pack, you pulled out your journal and knife, carefully starting to prod at and study the flower, carelessly scribbling anything of note down.
Your mind was only focused on a single thing, yet as you inspected the flower, you noted that even in its alive state, the colours were less bright than the pressed flower the vendor had given you. Even these flowers weren’t sufficiently growing.
“Is it the cave?” You mumbled to yourself, setting your items down and getting to your feet.
Slowly, you started to walk in through the massive opening, your body casting a tiny shadow in the large circle of light.
For a minute or so, you moved. Yet the further you went, the more you walked, a dread slowly started to settle in the pit of your stomach.
Something felt off.
Stalactites hung from the ceiling, ominous and casting shadows onto the top of the cavern.
The light from the entrance was pale, limited. And as you walked forward, you slowly got to the cap of it. Daylight reached into the cave in almost a halo. A safe circle of pale light, ending where you stood now, right at your feet.
Normally, you didn’t feel like this. Normally, you’d step into the shaded part of a cavern without trouble but in this moment? You couldn’t.
There was something about this place that wasn’t right. Unnatural.
…Warm.
The cave was warm.
It was subtle, not immediately noticeable until you focused on it, but still your eyes widened in realisation of that fact. Despite climbing high up, damn near into the mountains to get here. There was no frigid cold. The difference from the moderately chilly air outside and in here was noticeable. And it definitely didn’t come from the watery sun outside.
A breeze suddenly picked up, a gust of wind so fast you had to snap your hand up to hold onto your hat, your eyes closing on instinct as your clothes billowed and ruffled.
Clutching the strap of your bag with one hand and your hat with the other, you dared to peek an eye open. Yet as you did, your heart sunk, watching as the sun that had been shining on your back was blocked, a shadow sliding in and covering your body.
The gust of wind passed, your heartbeat thudding harshly in your chest as you could hear every breath you took, your eyes wide as you stared at the unnatural shadow currently cast over you. A shadow that shouldn’t be there. A shadow that wasn’t a second ago.
Slowly, as if a thousand weights hung on you, you turned your head around. And the clench of your jaw slackened as a terror fell over you.
Sitting there, sprawled  across the opening of the cave, hung a dragon.
With scales a deep green, its eyes were fixed on you, unblinking while it sat. Hanging on the rock, its massive form blocked out the sunlight, small slivers only escaping near the corners of the scaly creature, the light almost casting it in a halo. Or hellfire.
You’d never seen a dragon before, only heard stories of knights or travellers, regaling the terror and power they could wreak.
You didn’t dare blink or move, just stuck in a staring contest until for the first time, it made a noise as a billow of smoke escaped its maw, a rumble echoing through the cave as it shifted, muscle rippling and scales glistening in the light.
With a deliberate and slow movement, it flexed the joints of its wings, stretching them slightly and blocking out even that last bit of sunlight that was on your body, fully encasing you in its mighty shadow.
With barely anything else to do, you turned your body around to face it like your head was, and as if on cue, that made it move.
Slinking down from the large cave entrance, the dragon landed on the rocky ground, front paws thudding down before the rest of the body followed, moving towards you.
Terrified, you stumbled back, wanting to run, though your heel hooked behind the uneven ground of the cave, making you fall onto your back harshly.
With the wind knocked out of you, you’d barely opened your eyes before you found the dragon’s maw hanging right above you, an amusement dancing in the crinkle of its eyes.
“Please-“ You whispered, only for the dragon to not hear as it instead spoke.
“Finally made the decision to show up, did we? You’re four hours late.”

I’ll try to get the next chapter out as soon as I can! Please let me know what you thought and if there is interest for a tag list for future chappies ❤️

Community gardens-
Community gardens are a piece of land gardened or cultivated by a group of people, which you can do individually or collectively. So they can be done on private or public land.
Community gardens are not only a testament to community care and mutual aid, it's also almost a radical act of protest and activism. You're combining and sharing resources, which is inherently anti-capitalist, and you're actively protesting climate change by cultivating the land and bringing back native plants. They exist in various forms, it can be located in the proximity of neighborhoods or on balconies and rooftops. They are far from a one size fits all, they are built to meet the needs of the people cultivating them.
Tumblr media
History-
this is gunna be a long one yall--
1890s-- Rapid urbanization in Europe and North America lead to community ran gardens to supplement food stocks that the city couldn't maintain causing an obscene cost of food. Thus lead to cities across the world attempting in their own ways to handle the problem-
1893 - Detroit Mayor Hazen S. Pingree took office with citizens even calling for “bread or blood”. In the mist of this crisis the city establishes a program that required vacant lots to be used as gardens and farms for the unemployed citizens have access to food. The deal the city basically makes is 'we will provide the land for you to farm, you feed yourself by farming it!' Later called "Potato Patches" would convert thousands of acres of vacant and idle land in the city for subsistence gardens, then cultivated by the unemployed in order to ensure citizens access to food regardless of the employment or economic status. At its peak, 1563 families participating over 430 acres of donated or City land. This would become so successful that later other cities like Boston and Buffalo would later adopt similar programs.
In England, “allotment” gardens were created to improve working-class people’s food provision, living conditions, and overall health of people living in suddenly crowded city centers.
Marseille in 1896, “les jardins d’ouvriers”, or ‘the workers’ gardens’, were created by a clergyman, with the purpose of reducing the misery of the working class and improving living condition.
1917- The War Gardens Commission was established to call on citizens to become, "Soldiers of the soil," planting gardens to meet some of their own domestic need for food as well as solider rations. (talk about abandoning your citizens for the sake of war >.>) Providing booklets, cartoons, and plenty of propaganda to teach everyone able to grow and preserve their own food supplies. War and Victory Gardens running well through the 1920s into the 50s. Often communties would have a vacant lot or shared spaces to also fullfill any need that wouldnt fit on private land. By 1944, between 18 to 20 million families with victory gardens were providing up to 40% of the vegetables in America.
1970s - In major cities that were fighting both economic crisis and urban decay as a result of white flight to the suburbs. Bringing rise to community groups like The Green Guerillas-  built of horticulturalists, gardeners, botanists, and planners who work to turn abandoned or empty spaces in New York City into gardens. The group threw "seed grenades" into derelict lots and developed community gardens, often without going through official channels. It became especially popular after the concerted redevelopment of a dangerous, trash-filled space at the corner of Houston Street and Bowery in Manhattan.  That first and now oldest recognized community garden in New York City on a street corner, grew to be over an acre and remains active as of 2023 now named the Liz Christy Garden after its founder who wanted a safe space and good food for children in her community.
2010-Current
Millions of community gardens spanning across the entire world have been reestablished. Particularly over the course of 2012 on wards in order to get back to connecting with the soil and feeding low income housing. Many of the gardens today also hold other community functions like yoga and woodworking classes, socializing centers, holding events, and act as a 3rd space where there are so few these days. Becoming more like a community hub over just a simple source of food.
Tumblr media
How do I join or create a community garden?
Join an existing garden- look up one in your area here
To create your own, you will need to do your own research on your city or towns bylaws but generally you'll need a few things-
Gather friends/group to garden with
Secure a place to garden, as well as access to water
Gardening Equipment
Happy Gardening!!
Also @solarpunkani this is for you!!!

Hi,
Can I request kurama x human reader who share his love for plants and nature which makes him fall for them?
Thanks for considering this requst
An: My man's would be gushing 💯.
Kurama With An S/O Who Loves Plants
Tumblr media
It's inevitable he becomes smitten
Someone else who shares his love of plants? You're his.
You start out as one of his classmates.
Just another face in the crowd.
It isn't until you have a project together that he gets to know you.
You'd chosen to do it at your house. It was more convenient that way. There'd be no interruptions and you'd get to finish faster.
There was just one catch though.
“My house is kinda humid. I like to keep the temperature high. If it's too much we could always work in the library,” you explained.
The heat was something he could handle. It wouldn't bother him in the slightest. And when he stepped foot inside, it was pleasantly bearable.
What he was not expecting were the ferns littered around your living room. Along with several other types of potted plants.
They all looked to be well taken care of, too. Seems you had quite the hobby.
He followed you to your room. Fingers skimming over the leaves of a pothos as he passed it. If you saw the action, you didn't mention it.
In your room were a few more plants placed towards the window sill. One in particular caught his attention. Through the foliage he could see glimpses of red.
“An anthurium,” he mumbled out.
“Huh?” You called from your spot on the floor.
He met your confused gaze and offered you a smile.
“You're a bit of a plant enthusiast, aren't you?”
You seemed to light up at his words. Excited to talk about your favorite hobby.
“Are you kidding me? These are my babies. I'm a single mother of about 24.”
Maybe it was a little endearing to see you talk so passionately.
“In all seriousness, I think I'm gonna become a botanist when I graduate. What about you?” You asked.
What would Kurama do? He'd probably be offered a job at his stepfather's company. If something else hadn't killed him first. But he felt like that wouldn't have been a favorable answer.
“I haven't decided yet.” Was his response.
He expected you to pry further. Instead you playfully nudged his shoulder.
“You could always join me.”
Surprisingly, he was left speechless by your offer. You'd wanted him to study plants with you?
“Don't think I didn't notice how you addressed Derek by his full government name.” You gestured to the anthurium behind you.
“You really know your stuff.”
Oh you had no idea.
“You name your plants?” He questioned. You were an intriguing individual.
“Hello? I told you they were my babies. And don't you try to change the subject.” You scolded.
“I'll consider it. How about we start on our project now?”
He figured that would've been the last time he interacted with you. That couldn't have been any further than the truth.
You showed up to his desk the next morning with a small potted plant.
He looked up at you quizzically before you spoke.
“What's this?”
You were trying to test him. A part of him found it cute. You had absolutely no clue how vast his knowledge was. Of both this world and the demon one.
He took you up on your challenge without hesitation.
“Bear’s Paw succulent. Also known as the Cotyledon tomentosa.”
“Aha!” You cheered triumphantly. As if you caught him red handed on something. Whatever connection you think you just made, he'd never know.
It became a daily habit of sorts.
Every morning you'd stop by his desk with something new.
The same question of ‘what’s this?’
And he'd always answer correctly.
You were persistent in whatever endeavor you were chasing. He thought you would've gotten bored by now, yet you kept at it.
Little by little, he starts to consider you a friend. He started anticipating your presence in the morning. Enjoying how you stuck around after quizzing him now. Getting to know each other more and more.
You didn't fawn over him like the girls in your class. And you weren't jealous of him like the boys. You were just you. And somehow you wormed your way into his life for the better.
You trusted him wholeheartedly with your plants. Even going as far as to ask him to take care of one for you.
“I have to go on a family trip. Watch Cornelius for me.” You'd looked up at him with pleading eyes. Ones he found himself unable to say no to. So he (not so) begrudgingly said yes.
A cactus. You gave him a cactus to look after.
He makes it bloom for you by the time you get back.
“Some green thumb you have.” You mused once you got it back. A small feeling of pride washing over him.
Eventually Kurama starts returning the favor and bringing you plants instead.
The first time he did it, he had left a special type of rose on your desk.
“What's this?” His words mirroring yours.
You gave a smirk at the challenge.
“Easy. It's a Falstaff rose.” you answered.
“Now what's this~” you pulled what looked like a white and pink flower from behind you.
“A trick. That's an orchid mantis.”
“Damn. I almost had you.”
Every now and then he'll throw you off by growing a plant from the demon world.
“Is that a hybrid of some sort?” You asked, prodding at the rather sentient looking plant.
Did it just blink at you?
“It's cool whatever it is. How'd you get your hands on it?”
By now your guessing games had started to take place out of school and in your homes. Right now, you were at Shuichi’s because he said he ‘wanted to show you something.’
He appeared amused by your curiosity.
“I have my ways.” He responded.
“This plant is carnivorous. It produces a saliva stronger than acid.” Though he'd never let it hurt you.
And instead of being frightened by it, you were ecstatic.
“Let's feed it a bunch of things!” You suggested.
Did you hear that? That was the sound of his heart beating in overdrive. You were a very brave human.
But you also found beauty and wonder in things most would cower at.
He makes sure to bring and grow you more plants from demon world. Most of them are relatively harmless.
As long as you don't get too close that is.
It becomes a new game for you to guess what they do. What makes the flowers bloom. The conditions they thrive in.
Most of the time you end up being correct. Using your prior knowledge to make logical guesses. It's surprising how accurate you are for a human. But then again, you weren't exactly normal.
He's still not over how you fed that plant your entire backpack.
He would be lying if he said he hadn't taken an interest in you.
Not just because of your shared hobby. He liked how you made it a point to check on him everyday. How you'd let him ramble on excitedly about some new fauna. The way you explored and investigated something new without fear. The exaggerated movements of your hands when you were talking passionately.
All of it had pulled him in little by little.
He makes it a point to confess to you in a way only you two would understand.
“What do all these mean?” He asked you, presenting you with a small bouquet.
“Oooh! Going the extra mile today? You're on.”
You took the flowers from him and began mentally listing them off.
You hadn't taken in the full context until you were already speaking.
“Red carnations mean my heart aches for you. Forget me nots mean true love. Baby's breath means everlasting love. And a rose means passion…Oh.”
It hit you like a truck then, the implications of why he might've gave you this. Was this still part of your usual game?
You looked to Shuichi who didn't hide the softness in his expression.
“You're being serious? I…”
‘Say yes you idiot!!!!’ You internally screamed at yourself.
Instead you plucked one of the flowers and offered it back to him.
“Here's my answer.”
You'd given him the rose in return.

if you want to -- maybe AUTO with a botanist reader? i just think it'd be so interesting how it would play out !! u dont have to, so only do it if u want to!!
🩹 anon
To be Loved, To Maybe be Changed (Auto x Botanist!Reader)
Oh that certainly is a concept!! It's a great one for Auto to, this put an entire storyline in my head that I think justifies breaking out the oneshot format rather than headcanons. Which works out great because I think out of all the Ai's I've written for, he would need the most 'set up' from how not-sentient he's protrayed in Wall-E. Anyways grab a snack floks this is a long one
It had been many generations since the Axium returned home to earth. Humans, robots, and the all important plant finding themselves back on soil, populating the deserted planet once more.
Things have changed since then. The human body began readapting to earth's gravity, the majority of buildings around the landing site have been fixed up and inhabited, and most importantly: the city is covered in plants. Grasses sprout between broken walkways, invy weaves its way up repurposed skyscrapers, gardens spill out of every available alleyway, a gaint tree stands where that first plant took root all those centuries ago. Each year it seems the sky gets a little more blue.
The ever diversifying flora had captivated you ever since you first had the words to describe it. As soon as you had a say so, you began studying it. Dispite the flourishing growth, any sort of plant husbandry was still something of a lost art. You lived off of the ancient manuals and beginners guides that eventually made their way out of the Axium's archives.
Yet even those could only do so much for you when most of the crops that had evolved from that first seedling had taken forms a far cry from their original pre space-age forefathers. It became your life's mission to learn how to best take care of these new cultivars and of course, spread the knowledge (and hopefully passion) for botany that you had gained throughout your life.
That was what fueled your visits to the Axium. Still parked at the foot of that monumental tree, it had been transformed into something of a community center. With most of its facilities still running and new services offered everyday. You often came to drop off your experimental findings, teach classes, and check to see if other botanists had done the same. Why you began exploring the depths of the halls that one fateful day, you still don't know.
The spaceship was massive, clearly a crowning jewel of its time. To this day many rooms remained unused and largely blocked off. The bustle and warmth of public spaces giving way to dust and insect nests as you roam through areas no longer needed. Bathrooms too far from the people to warrant upkeep, storage rooms that were once filled with replacement parts for the robots that now walked side by side with humans. And at the end of your journey, the captain's quarters.
The door was practically sealed shut with age, and the room behind it was hardly any better. The air attacked you with a cloud of dust once you finally managed to shove open the door, and no matter how much you rubbed your eyes there still appeared to be an almost foggy looking quality to the room.
That's when you found Auto.
He was still dangling from the ceiling above a control panel you doubt still worked. You had seen and befriended many robots before, they were just as common as humans in the city nowadays with remarkably little tension between them. Recognizing that the innert steering wheel in front of you was once one, your heart ached. You were no mechanic, but surely you had to at least try to get him up and running again. What can you say, you were always a bit of a bleeding heart.
After carefully detaching him from the ceiling you carried what was essentially an inanimate hunk of metal all the way back home with you. People stared, sure, but they kept any questions or judgments to themselves as you made your way home.
Your residence was rustic, to say the least. A fairly rundown shack renovated into a makeshift greenhouse. Produce and flowering plants alike overflowed from their neat rows of pots on benches. Some were for you, more were to sell, all were part of research in one way or another.
You loved walking through your own little botanical garden to get to your living quarters. The moment you pass through the front doors you're always hit with a wave of earthy freshness. The smell of petrichor and pollen greeted you (and your new... friend?) just as it always did. Never once failing to make you feel at home.
Your living quarters themselves were similarly homey. Not drastically bigger than a hotel room, it's a modest living area with a kitchen tucked in the corner and two doors along the wall. One leading to a compact bathroom, the other your bedroom. Some may call it cramped, but to you it's cozy. You spent most of your time in the greenhouse anyway.
That might have been the only day you mourned your lack of space. As if he were a friend you had to drag home after a night of drinking, you placed Auto on the couch. Promising to yourself that you'd do your best to fix him up. You'd probably have to give him some wheels to, since you ripped him from the ship. Well, your life could always use some more excitement.
--------------------
Your knowledge of machinery had definitely improved over the past few weeks. On all accounts you were extraordinarily lucky that he was in such good shape. Age had rendered most of his circuits unusable, but isolation kept them from becoming unrecognizable. Night after night you would come home with a new part and with surgical delicacy, swap it out for its damaged counterpart.
You had heard stories from the time of the Axium. You knew of the 'evil autopilot program that tried to trap humanity in space'. You knew that you were probably trying to fix said evil autopilot program. It may have been the weeks of one sided bonding, but you didn't buy it. Surely at worst he was just following orders. And who knows, maybe with some free will he might be able to turn over a new leaf.
--------------------
"What happened?" His voice was striking, deep and inhumanly regular in a way that was still seen a trademark of artificial speech. He was upright on the wheeled body you attached him to, the red eye (camera?) at the center of his face seemed to scan you up and down before doing the same to the room around him.
The cocktail of pride and anxiety had yet to leave your chest. You attempted to explain, "Well I fixed you-"
"Before that." He interrupted. Slowly wheeling himself to the living room window, still unsure of the new addition you had made to his body. "Where are we?" He added.
You should have been prepared for that one. "We're on earth, in my house." You watched with apprehension as he stared out the window. The steering wheel that made his outer body clicked back and forth as if he were swaying in thought.
"Earth is habitable." His voice lacked strong inflection, you were unsure if he was asking you a question or stating the fact to himself.
"It has been for a long time." You said as gently as you possibly could. "You were... on that ship for centuries, a lot has changed since then."
If he was listening to you, he made no effort to show it. Instead continuing to look outside as if he were zoning out in thought. "There are plants", he observed.
The view out that window wasn't remarkable by any means. Just some grass and a few odd trees before the city's skyscrapers blocked your line of sight. But the mere mention of plants was always enough to get you excited. "Oh if you're interested in plants you should see this." Gesturing for him to follow you as you opened the door to your greenhouse.
He paused for a moment before trailing behind you.
--------------------
Auto made for a strange guest. With no astro-cruise to run he spent a considerable amount of time staring at you while you worked. It was only as you were measuring the pH of your plants' soil that you began narrating your work to him. It started as a way for you to simply diffuse the tension and explain why you were so invested in the vegetation.
He made for a good wall to rant to. You didn't have many close friends and certainly none as into botany as you, most other botanists spent as much time with their garden as you do. But thankfully, no matter how much you asked if you were being annoying, he would repeat that "The information is important, please continue." All while focused on whatever orchid you made the subject of your newest lecture. You did make it clear that he was free to leave at any time.
He never did.
--------------------
Your first trip to the Axium since Auto's reactivation was an awkward one, at least on your part. When you announced that you needed to go to drop off your latest batch of research he requested to could come with, one of the first things he asked of you since waking up.
Perhaps you shouldn't have been surprised, Auto had barely took a step outside your home. Relying instead on you and whatever books or documentaries you had to fill him in on what the world had become. Who were you to deny him some fresh air?
Although you had grown much more comfortable around him you were still anxious to hear what he thought of everything. And as always his judgment came in the form of definite reports. It was all "Humanity is stable." Or "Plant life is flourishing." If he had any semblance of opinion, he didn't tell you about it.
He didn't behave much differently on the Axium, continuing to trail you like a lost duckling and thoroughly scan the surroundings. It wasn't until you met up with a fellow herbalist that he spoke a word.
They asked you about a specific project you were working on, a new crossbreed of a medicinal herb of particular interest to them. However, as it wasn't the purpose of your trip you didn't have any of its records on you. You were about to apologize and tell them so until Auto informed them, "The crossbreed has shown accelerated growth but a greater sensitivity to sunlight." The herbalist thanked both of you and walked off.
Even though you shouldn't have been shocked to learn that he was actually storing the information you spat at him, it was still nice to know that he cared to some degree.
"Thank you, Auto."
"You're welcome."
--------------------
The days have gone on much the same since then. You had never sought out an adventurous life. Often you go out the greenhouse in the morning and find Auto observing the various moths and flies that had evolved as pollinators alongside the new flora. "Morning Auto!" You would cheerfully greet.
You never fully understood why he stayed, but it didn't matter to you at this point. He was here and he made no effort to go. You had more than enough room in your life for him anyway.
"Good morning."
And so another day starts.

☪︎︎ 𝔂andere botanist! who glowers you down as he watches the flower shop clerk flirt with you, his mind whirling with thoughts of repetitively stabbing his throat with the claw of his rake before burying his body beneath his garden to use as fertilizer. it’s a miracle that he hasn’t launched at the man by now but stood there trembling with anger, his heart thumping harshly, hearing the word “go” compulsively raid his mind, his hands twitching occasionally yet noticeably as the thoughts became louder …
“that loser doesn’t even go know where go eucalyptus originated. y’know i could tell go you everyth-STAB HIM everything you need to know, y/n. why laugh MINE …it up with this weirdo? go.”
☪︎︎ 𝔂andere botanist! who is an empty threatener. his obsession is primarily threatening to his emotional, physical, and mental health since he wouldn’t harm a fly, not him or his compulsive/intrusive thoughts. he feels a bit belittled when you brush off his outbursts, but nothing but a small smooch should be able to brush it off… for now, at least …
“i’ll kill anyone who even considers you as an existing human being! KILL THEM KILL THEM INSTEAD no one should know that you’re alive but me, i’ll even kill myself because i know you!! so loud, my head…”
“hm, that’s nice to know, sweetheart.”
“sweetheart…no, hush. you’re a bane, y/n. you never take me seriously…sweetheart, sweetheart, sweet heart, my love is sweet to them…”
“and don’t… and you a lie. now c’mon, the apples should be ripe to try.”
☪︎︎ 𝔂andere botanist! who embraces you dotingly, tightly, and longingly, muffling a loud moan into your shirt. his knees were in a gelatinous state, buckling wildly to the point where his weight shifted on top of you. he shoved himself so deep into you to the point it was painful, as if he was forcing his way into what’s beneath your skin. his arousal wasn’t discreet either since he was ‘subtly’ grinding his hips into your leg like a mutt in heat …
“hnngh, y/n? i missed you so much, did you miss me too? please tell me you miss me, i need it…”
☪︎︎ 𝔂andere botanist! with his face buried deep between your thighs, sucking and slurping you hungrily during your orgasms, seeing as his lips have not detached from you in a second. his own pants were stained with his own cum yet he hasn’t touched himself during the whole process, but solely examined your expressions as they contorted in pleasure and pain. his grasp around your thighs was hopeful and voracious. to think that someone like him would have such a hold, let alone coy look …
“i’m sorry, i’m sorry! it’ll be over soon, just one more for me, okay? just give me two more and i’ll love you harder…just five more…a few more than that, please?…sencha, you idiot…”
☪︎︎ 𝔂andere botanist! who is easy to please pt. two. he’ll take whatever you would give him sexually, even if it’s for your sadistic pleasure. he completely understands since he wants to see you in every scenario, so it only turns him on immensely that you love him so much to do such. he just wants to be useful for you, thrusting his sticky hips against you, his cum could be felt through the confinements of his boxers, which was caused by you merely kissing him and caressing his body. he couldn’t even breathe when you touched him so generously …
“please please please tell me you love me again…it’s a bold request and i’m a little messy but i know you can… i just want your love forever and—mmph, floret! your face, just look at me, catch me with your eyes and tell me i’m yours…”
☪︎︎ 𝔂andere botanist! who keeps his emotions limited to the best of his ability, but everything you do gets him so excited! the most ominous desires slip from his mouth instinctively, instinctively to the point where he doesn’t possess the mental awareness to apologize (which, again, you learned to inure) …
“i’ll skin all your friends in order to sew you a nice warm blanket to keep you comfy during the winter…”
“… that’s uh considerate, flower boy, but i’ll stick to the blankets you’ve bought me. they’re very warm, trust me.”
☪︎︎ 𝔂andere botanist! who absolutely trashes his place when you’re gone for too long with little to no explanation. once you came through the door you were greeted by a frantic and apologetic male, his roseated cheeks stained with smeared tears, his hands pricked with bloody rose thorns after destroying his vases out of resentment, and his hair was tousled and a bit damp from sweat. it was hard to be mad despite you being concerned, and what’s worse is that he seemed to calm down immensely when his hands traveled up your shirt, his breathing shaky and irregular as the thorns dragged across your skin …
“take off your shirt. i need your touch, your love, your sweat, embrace me with everything you own… i need your skin infused with mine… we’ll become one big bud of blubbery love, blooming under each other’s needs! you have a heart, don’t you?! can you show me, please? show me that you miss me. tell me that you need me. i can’t take another moment without you!”

Tumblr media
venti ★↷
venti, the tone-deaf bard as he was more famously known. but somehow like magic itself didn't always seem that tone-deaf with his songs. especially when he wrote songs for or about you. normally they were for your ears only but you couldn't help but wonder how these songs sounded much better than his others. but nonetheless whenever your lover came to you with a new song for you, you couldn't help but a crack a smile and that was all the bard wanted and more.
zhongli ★↷
zhongli has experienced alot in his life, and now as zhongli not morax he just wants to live out the rest of his life in peace, alongside you. you were by far his greatest treasure and he loved the small domestic life you two had built for yourself. and ever so often zhongli would love to take you glaze lily picking. he knew the times where they were at their best in their cycle so he would take you to the fields and pick some lillies to remake the beautiful bouquet left central in your shared home as you two share smiles and laughs for years to come.
kaedehara kazuha ★↷
kazuha often wondered if you got bored of this life with him. i mean the life he had made for himself, with beidou's help, wasn't for everyone. but you always assured him with a syrupy sweet smile that you loved this and wouldn't trade it for the world. but often you would find small hand written poems from your lover that you would always thank him for later with yet another bright smile that always made him feel like the luckiest guy in the world. or even sometimes during longer stops at docks, kazuha would take you sightseeing to spots he often would visit.
raiden shogun ★↷
ei sometimes struggled with understanding how humans would go about relationships. but you were an exception and tried your best to help guide her through the steps until she could understand herself on her own, and boy was she trying. but one of the things that became a routine was you plaiting her hair. she didn't understand your insistent asks on you asking her to teach you how she likes it plaited so you could do it for her. but eventually she taught you, you always looked so happy when you asked she didn't want you to lose that smile, and now it became a routine. and she loved seeing your soft smile as you plaited her hair.
tighnari ★↷
small note : pink roses mean gratitude, blue hydrangeas mean thanks and white camellias mean adoration
tighnari, as the forest watcher and a botanist, he knew about all kinds of flowers and various botanical specimens. and he figured one way to show his appreciation of you and everything you've done he decided to give you a bouquet of pink roses, blue hydrangea's and white camellias. not only was it a gift to show his feelings but he hoped it would make you smile. and it did. taking the bouquet with a bright smile you graciously hugged your lover and if you ask about if his tail was subtly wagging your wrong(your not).
columbina ★↷
columbina doesn't normally leave snezhnaya, but since you expressed how much you love her small little singing performances for you she kind of felt like maybe she should try to get you two to performances outside of snezhnaya. although that may be a bit difficult considering her status as a harbringer but you found out about her effort in her plans you couldn't help but smile and told her that you wouldn't mind just hearing her singing. she was happy you felt that way and made a small subtle effort to starrt singing for you more until she could arrange your trip out of snezhnaya.

Guest post from John Martin Rare Book Room at Hardin Library for the Health Sciences!
HEISTER, LORENZ (1683-1758). A general system of surgery in three parts. Printed in London for William Innys, 1743. 26 cm tall.
Hello friends. I am excited to present you this month with a book from the 18th-century physician Lorenz Heister. Not only because Heister was a snappy dresser who could really rock a powdered wig, but because his book was considered the gold standard surgical work of the time.
Lorenz Heister was born in 1683 in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, and became one of the most famous German multihyphenates. Never one to pass up an opportunity to learn something new or teach it to others, Heister was an incredibly accomplished physician-anatomist-surgeon-botanist-teacher.
Heister was the first to perform a post-mortem examination of appendicitis and suggest that cataracts were caused by changes in the crystalline lens rather than the cornea. He performed the first successful thyroidectomy and introduced the term "tracheotomy" in medicine. The plant genus Heisteria and the spiral valves of Heister (anatomical folds of the cystic duct) are named after him.
Heister's library contained over 12,000 volumes and 470 surgical instruments, most made of silver. In recognition of his work, Heister was a fellow of the Royal Society of London and the Royal Academy of Paris.
His most important book, Chirurgie [Surgery], was the first to systematically present surgery, detailing all surgical instruments, bandages, and operations step by step, including possible complications. Published in German in 1719, it was catered to students with limited Latin knowledge.
The book was popular for its detailed copperplate illustrations and was soon sold out, leading to new editions. It was later translated into Latin as Institutiones Chirurgicae and into English, French, Italian, Dutch, Spanish, and Japanese.
All in all, Hesiter's masterpiece includes 38 plates of multiple illustrations and 814 pages across two volumes bound together. Our first English edition copy is in fantastic condition. The calfskin cover has held up remarkably well, with only minor scratches here and there. The paper is in great condition, including the illustrations, all printed separately from the text and sewn in when bound. Because the illustrations are almost all wider than the textblock, they are folded to fit, sometimes multiple times. In summary, this beautiful and influential work on surgery is ready for action!

Juba II
Juba II (c. 48 BCE - 23 CE) was a Numidian prince and the king of Mauretania from c. 25 BCE until his death in 23 CE. He was raised in the household of Julius Caesar (c. 100-44 BCE) and married Cleopatra Selene II (40 - c. 17/5 BCE), the daughter of the Egyptian queen Cleopatra VII (69-30 BCE). His nearly 50-year reign was characterized by his loyalty to Rome and his promotion of Greco-Roman culture. He faced numerous uprisings by his subjects in Numidia and Mauretania, partly due to the unpopularity of his pro-Roman policies. Nevertheless, Mauretania became very prosperous under his rule and exported goods like Tyrian purple and timber to the Roman Empire.
Modern historians have paid more attention to Juba II's scholarly activities than to his reign. He was a man of many talents: an explorer, historian, geographer, and botanist. His scholarly contributions on the geography and inhabitants of Africa and Asia helped to inform Roman authors for generations.
Early Life
Juba II was born c. 48 BCE, as the only son of King Juba I of Numidia (60-46 BCE). Juba I was an ally of Pompey the Great during the Civil War between Pompey and Julius Caesar (49-48 BCE). Juba I was defeated by Caesar at the Battle of Thapsus in 46 BCE, and subsequently committed suicide. The orphaned prince Juba II was taken captive and led in Caesar's triumph in Rome to represent the victory over Numidia.
Despite this bleak start to his young life, Juba II's fortunes quickly improved. Julius Caesar chose to foster the young boy in his own household. Growing up in Caesar's family, he was treated with the same care as his adoptive siblings. Despite not being Roman by birth, he received Roman citizenship early in life and was fluent in Greek and Latin. After Caesar's assassination in 44 BCE, Juba II was cared for by Caesar's relatives; eventually ending up in the household of Caesar's grandniece Octavia Minor (69-11 BCE). Octavia already had three small children of her own, and she adopted several other children after Juba II.

Today In History
Dr. George Washington Carver, scientist and discoverer of over 300 products from the peanut, was successful in getting a Branch Agricultural Experiment Station and Agricultural School at Tuskegee Normal School on this date February 15, 1897.
Born a slave on a Missouri farm in 1865, Carver became the first black student and the first black faculty member at what is now Iowa State University. The well-respected botanist led the bacterial laboratory work in the Systematic Botany Department. But at the urging of Booker T. Washington, Carver moved to Tuskegee Institute in Alabama to serve as the school’s director of agriculture. He used his agricultural research to help black farmers become more self-sufficient and less reliant on cotton, the major cash crop of the South.
Carver developed numerous products and processes that expanded the range of Southern agriculture. At Tuskegee, Carver developed his crop rotation method, which alternated nitrate-producing legumes such as peanuts and corn with cotton, which depletes the soil of its nutrients. His innovations have been credited with the South’s economic survival in the early part of the 20th century.
