Cave in a release the backstory you built for Gregory and Cassie >:)

they are twins (cassie older by a few minutes and she holds it over his head their entire lives). they grew up together with only their mother happy and well off. they squabble and are considered a package deal and troublemakers. they're just normal kids, they go to school together, have separate rooms decorated head to toe with things they love (they especially love the freddys franchise and have lots of merch of the glamrocks) and they have hobbies. until one day the family goes to the pizzaplex and only cassie and her mother come out. the next day the place is reported to be burned down and abandoned.

cassie and Gregory were attached at the hip and were incredibly close before he disappeared. cassie is grief stricken and declines fast after Gregory doesnt show despite the police searching. she lashes out at school, doesnt have energy to do things she loves, and is depressed. therapy doesnt help and her mother is taking It hard, with one child being gone and the other in bad shape.

hope is nonexistent after months pass. Gregory is considered a cold case. cassie doesnt give up hope, even though her mother has. but its dwindling, every day that passes is another that her brother is gone without a trace. one night, shes awake, thinking, when her walkie talkie (it came in a set of two, gregory has the other one.) suddenly starts spitting static. when she grabs it, Gregory's voice filters through.

it's the first time shes heard his voice in months. it's the first time theres any indication that he is isnt dead. he uses the small amount of time to relay a message, to ask for help, and he doesnt answer her when she talks to him.

cassie doesnt waste any time. she writes a quick note to her mom and packs a bag, and is out of the house making for the pizzaplex as soon as her mother lays in for the night at 10pm.

Ruin happens. whatever plot it may be. Gregory is found and taken home with a broken Freddy in tow (maybe just his head). his mother is ecstatic. so is cassie.

but hes not the same as he was before. hes in bad shape, obviously, from surviving on scraps and not showering for 6 months. but that's not all. hes plagued with nightmares of things he wont tell cassie about, no matter how much she presses. he doesn't laugh like he used to, he doesnt get into trouble. he can barely do anything at all. just ever awake enough to eat and take care of himself.

cassie was changed forever by her brothers absense as well. but shes even more disturbed by how different he is, and just wants him to be back to normal.

it takes months, but slowly but surely, gregory improves, and he and cassie are never the same, but they get better, and even after their mother finds Freddy in their closet one day, she lets him stay, and they live happily and together. not perfect, but improving every day

And the only reason the Batfam found out was because apparently their secret (grand)daughter/sister-in-law Jazz/Jasmine was in labor and their (great)grandson/nephews Danny (Daniel) and Dan (Dante) called him while on a Red Hood job with the rest of the Batfam to panicky tell him their baby sister Ellie was on the way early.

Red Hood books it away from the fam to his bike while asking to put Kori or Roy on the phone.

thinking about caleb being struck with this sense of recognition when he sees depa in the bacta tank. about the way he’s drawn to her. and then after he leaves, she wakes up from her 6 month coma—pulled from it by this connection they share through the force. like he was meant to be her apprentice, like they were meant to find each other.

and to parallel, the way that ezra can hear the force singing to him, nudging him to look, look - to see what's right in front of him! and when he sees kanan, recognizes that kanan is what he's being drawn to, that's when kanan turns around. (recognition of self through the other).

the force is drawing them together, and has been long before ezra and kanan ever laid eyes on each other. because kanan tells hera later that even before they knew ezra, they were drawn to lothal. that no matter what happens, they always end up back on lothal.

like kanan was meant to go there. like he was meant to find ezra, in the same way that he found depa.

Vash, mid-action of peeling an apple, turns to the sound, noticing who it was that entered, and says, "Oh, Wolfwood, you're back." Wolfwood's hand then enters the panel, hovering over Vash's cheek and Vash looks up as Wolfwood asks, "Can I?" Vash responds, "Not going to talk about it?" while using a hand to gently hold Wolfwood's hovering hand and presses a kiss to his inner palm.

Vash then gets up fully, setting down the knife down on the table and the apple onto a plate, He leans into Wolfwood as Wolfwood explains, "Had to meet someone. Nothing interesting to talk about." Vash kisses Wolfwood's left cheek and a hand moves to cup his other cheek while muttering, "You're being vague." Wolfwood says neutrally, "If yer really that curious, keep askin'. We  can talk about that instead of doing this." Vash leans back and responds, "Let's talk after, since... You look so tired."

The panel pans to a close up of Wolfwood's downcast eyes, bags heavy underneath his eyes. He doesn't allow Vash to sit in that moment for long though, then saying, "Yer not helping, Spikey. Being all slow with it... I could fall asleep right now." He moves his hand to start unclasping Vash's coat, starting from his collar. Vash with red cheeks, responds briskly, "Oh, shut up. I'm worried about you. I can't be worried?"

The final shot shows Wolfwood's back to the viewer while Vash's softened expression can be seen as he holds gently onto the side of Wolfwood's face and a hand firm on his waist. Wolfwood responds, "I'm fine, seriously," pausing for a moment before continuing, "Is it okay to still..?" Vash responds, "Yeah, it's okay."

The next image is a shot from later that night after the previous comic. Vash and Wolfwood are now in bed, half naked. Wolfwood's buries his face into Vash's chest, his arms wrapped around him, while Vash is petting at his hair. Vash reminds him, "Hey. You said we'd talk about it." Wolfwood pauses for a moment before piping up, "In the morning? I'm sleepy." Vash says, "Okay..."

The next two pages start from the morning after. Wolfwood is already fully awake, pulling on his outer jacket as he says to Vash, whos' still bundled in his blankets, "Breakfast is on the table. Make sure to eat it. I'm going to grab some things in town and then we're leavin'. Got it?" Vash says, "Mh." Wolfwood responds, "Good. See ya in a bit." The dialogue starts to shift into Vash's inner thoughts now, as he gets up and eats toast, thinking, "Wait. Weren't we supposed to... talk about it?" The next shot then shows him fully up, meeting Wolfwood in town. He carries a half worried expression with him while Wolfwood slides on his glasses for him. A quick panel shows Wolfwood's tired expression from the night before and quickly juxtaposes with Wolfwood in front of him who's smiling gently, the shades covering his eye bags. Wolfwood asks him, "Still not awake yet?" Vash pauses, his thoughts stirring, thinking, "Oh. I guess I was getting ahead of myself... thinking you owe me that kind of honesty." He smiles at Wolfwood and responds, "I'm awake!" His thoughts continue, "Maybe one day, you'd trust me enough to share your burdens."

The final image shows Wolfwood pulling at Vash's cheek and Vash complains, "Owwwww why..." Wolfwood quickly says, "You were thinking something stupid, right? It's all over yer face." Vash mutters, "Nooo, I wasn't..." END ID]

@gumworthweek 2024 Day 4 - Genderswap / Bodyswap

I'd like to think Edgeworth would be absolutely horrified to find out just how terrible Gumshoe feels on a daily basis! Since Gumshoe is a big guy who's spent years working a highly physically and mentally demanding job whilst too poor to eat and running on basically nothing but fumes, I think the likelihood of his health being in pretty bad shape is very likely, even after Edgeworth raises his wages. Experiencing it for himself really shocks Edgeworth into realising he needs to be even more committed to listening when Gumshoe complains of aches and pains or feeling tired — he doesn't want to lose his partner to a heart attack or other health condition, after all...!

Might be a hot take as a bkdk and tgck truther here, but I find izuocha endlessly fascinating, beautiful, but also tearfully tragic.

I see their love for each other as something representative of their innocence and naivety when they only knew so little about who they were, and what was to come.

I think the main barrier of their relationship is that its rooted in how they see each other very idealistically, specifically that they're attached to the image of their Best Heroic Selves, and not the deeply selfish, destructive, freaky, and egotistical parts of them. To each other, they need to keep fulfilling that image or else that same person they looked up to would almost die in front of them, and that would be too cruel. Although that hero is still there, that same person they looked up to is not the same now because of...well...everything.

Izuku had barely even talked to girls when he first met her. She was Izuku's first ever real friend (Sorry Kats, everyone and him knows he was terrible), so he saved her in that entrance exam even if it was so dangerous. She gave a new meaning to his derogatory nickname just by being a friend that believed in him. After that, she saved him several more times (Blackwhip and Megaphone are the biggest samples iirc). It makes perfect sense that she is Deku's hero.

Ochako hardly knew what it meant to be a hero when she first got into UA. Just by reaching out to some kid tripping, she made a new friend who would then save her in that exam, then save him again in return. This boy then became someone who was always working so hard to save everyone in trouble, and she realized she wanted to be just like him too. "I want to save people"

But...Deku changes. The weight of One for All is on his shoulders and he needs someone to carry this burden with him. He continues to want to save other people at the expense of himself, still not letting his true selfishness and ego ever show- and it only grows more and more unbearable.

Then...Ochako fell in love with Himiko. Truly, relentlessly, selfishly and devotedly in love with a girl who then dies giving her blood to her- the greatest expression of love Himiko could ever give.

Not that they can't love each other because of this happening (and...so many other things oh god), I'm honestly not sure how to explain it- But them ending up together after losing that innocence and naivety? After Ochako will forever grieve the girl who showed her love in its most beautiful and ugly form? After Izuku changed so fundamentally as a person that the butterflies of a nice girl talking to you doesn't exist anymore? After that simple image of being a hero and being in love has completely changed for them both?

Even so, I believe they still love each other. There is no label I know of that can properly describe them though. They are each other's image of being a hero when it comes to saving people. Aside from Shoto, no one else can grasp the grief of the person you tried to save dying in your hands. They would no doubt try to cope with these losses together, and just try to get better together...but so much has changed. They've changed. The world changed. What are they now? Who are they now?
