The Legend of Hana Chapter 134
Warnings: You already know. It’s more angst. Tw (?) for electro torture
Rating: SFW
Tumblr media
Previously in the Legend of Hana:
In an apartment complex in the heart of the city, was a boy with soft, chocolate, spiky hair. He wore a black tank top with a gray jacket with red seams on it and matching pants. He laid on a couch next to a window with a thin curtain covering it.
“Oh, you’re finally awake, Sora,” the girl said.
“Huh? You…know me?” Sora asked, confused. How did this girl know him? How did he end up here?
“You’ve been asleep since you arrived in this world seven days ago.” Seven days?!  Has it really been seven days since his fight with Yozora?!
“How do I get back?” he asked.
“I’ve been working on it. So far, I have nothing but with your help, perhaps we can.”
“Then, let’s get to work.”
                                                          ☽✧☽✧
After the Master of Masters kidnapped Lily and Hana, Xigbar and Luna were trying to figure out what to do and where they might be. But knowing the Master, he would hide them somewhere where no one could find them.
“We need to find them before it’s too fucking late. Who knows what he might do to them,” Xigbar said.
“But how? And where? He could be anywhere,” Luna replied. It felt like there was absolutely no way of ever finding their daughters. Until, Mukuro came up to them and suggested something.
“Maybe Master Yen Sid knows. The man practically knows everything,” she said to them. The couple thought about it for a moment, but soon agreed. With that, everyone headed to Master Yen Sid’s tower, hoping for some answers.
                                                         ☽✧☽✧
Lily stirred awake, only to feel the worst headache she had ever felt. It was as if she had multiple migraines going on all at once. She looked around and saw that she was in a somewhat dark room. Her arms were held up in an almost T like position and were held by what looked like sharp wires. Not only that but her legs were too. She tried to squirm free, but the wires holding her cut her skin, drawing blood. A door suddenly opened and Lily looked as best as she could only to find two Monokumas walk up to her. One had all white fur and a bandage over one of its eyes, as if hiding the signature Monokuma eye from her and anyone else. The other was all black and wore a dark gray fedora with a red and white feather on it and had an eyepatch over one of its eyes. On one half of its face, it had sharp gold teeth and it held a cigar in one hand. It also wore a black tie and a gold padlock chain around its neck.
“Well, well look who’s awake!” the white Monokuma said to her.
“W-who are you? Why am I tied up like this?” Lily asked, clearly scared of the situation she was in.
“Isn't it obvious, lil’ bitch? You’ve met us before,” the black Monokuma replied, taking a puff from its cigar. Lily pondered for a moment until it hit her. The only one who was able to create the Monokumas was none other than the Despair Spirit herself.
“No…” she gasped, her eyes widening with even more fear.
“Hello again, Lily. Do you like my new looks?” the white Monokuma said as it removed the bandage over its eye.
“How? I saw you die by Xehanort’s Keyblade!”
“Well, my daddy was able to save me by creating these two Monokumas here! Isn’t he just like the best!” the black Monokuma replied, its grin opening wider.
“W-where’s my sister? What are you gonna do to me?” Lily whimpered.
“Oh, just make you one of daddy’s queens~” the white Monokuma said. Before Lily could say anything, the two Monokumas were gone and a really painful shock went through her body. She screamed as the shocks traveled all through her body. The shocks soon stopped and her head laid limp. Tears began to fill her eyes as she panted, scared that this was gonna be her life.
“Daddy…please save me…” she whimpered.
                                                        ☽✧☽✧
Donald and Goofy followed Ortho through the halls of the Underworld as the little robotic boy talked about himself and his older brother. Being the son of Hades, he was quite talkative. It reminded Donald and Goofy of Sora. Oh, how they hoped Hades had the answer to where he might be. And if Hana and Lily were okay. They soon made it to Hades’s throne room where he sat with his wife Persephone and his eldest son, Idia, who was playing a video game on his phone.
“Hi, daddy! You have some guests!” Ortho said as he hovered over to his father.
“Oh good. There hasn’t been a lot of action here lately,” Hades responded as he stretched his arms and sat up straight. Persephone leaned over to Idia and told him to sit up straight and he did, reluctantly. Hades’s two servants, Pain and Panic, let Donald and Goofy in and Hades looked at them in shock. What were they doing here?
“What are you two doing here? And where’s that Keybrat you always tag along with?” he asked the duo.
“That’s why we’re here, Hades. Sora went missing a year ago and no one has found him,” Goofy explained.
“Not only that, but Hana and Lily also went missing,” Donald finished.
“That explains why Hana didn’t show up for tea the other day,” Persephone whispered to her husband. Hades pondered for a moment before speaking to the duo.
“So, what do you want me to do? They’re not here in the Underworld if that’s what you’re wondering. I would’ve seen them in the River of Souls and put them in a different part of the Underworld,” he said.
“We know. We want to speak to him,” Goofy whispered to Hades. Hades’s eyes widened for a moment but then relaxed, understanding why.
“Pain. Panic. Show our guests the way,” he said to his two servants. The two servants nodded and escorted the duo through the many corridors of the Underworld. When they arrived, the duo saw a warning sign, telling them that this part of the Underworld was dangerous.
“Before you go in, there are rules you need to understand,” Panic said to Donald and Goofy.
“Lady Hana had asked Hades to keep him in here. She warned us how dangerous he was. Whatever you do, do not let him escape. If he does, scream Cronus. That will alert the security system Prince Idia had planted to make sure we capture him,” Pain explained. Donald and Goofy nodded and the door opened for them to walk in. By the time they walked in, the door slammed shut and they were left in a dark room. Suddenly, torches lit up with blue fire around the room revealing the person they came to visit.
“Donald. Goofy. What a surprise,” he said.

Ch 4  .:Budding Feelings and the Beginning of the End:.
Severus Snape had made a lot of mistakes in his life, and seeing you again after all these years was forcing him to relive every single one of them.
He stared blankly at the wall in front of him, shrouded in the darkness and grim silence of his empty house. He never thought he'd see you again, and certainly not under these circumstances. When he'd laid his eyes on you in the kitchen of 12 Grimmauld place he couldn't believe it. He, much like the rest of the Order (except for Molly, apparently) assumed you wouldn't be at these meetings any longer. After James and Lily were murdered and Sirius was thrown into Azkaban, you'd left London and headed to New York under the Ministry's alliance with MACUSA, hoping to help bridge the gap between muggle-borns and purebloods in America. He knew you had been back to meet Harry a handful of times, but he also knew that being in this city brought up painful memories for you, so he was as stunned as anyone else to see you standing there in the doorway, greeting them as if nothing were out of the ordinary.
He could see that traveling had been good for you. He'd heard through the Hogwarts circuit that you were back on auror duty across the world, taking special assignments from Dumbledore and the Minister for Magic himself. You seemed like you were doing better, but when you turned to smile at him he could see the hesitation and the sadness that brewed behind your eyes, likely his doing.
He desperately wanted things to go back to what they were before—
Before he'd ruined it. . .
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~   1974  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Alright students,” Professor Slughorn said as everyone finished filing inside the room, “today we're going to be pairing off into new partners for the upcoming project.”
Groans and nervous chatter flooded the sound space immediately, no one very thrilled with having to work with someone new out of their control. You cast a glance over to Lily who looked equally displeased. You liked being her partner, you both excelled at the subject and worked really well together.
“Yes, yes, I know,” Slughorn said, waving the complaints off, “However, I am going to be giving you the luxury of choosing your own partners this time, but everyone—”
The energy in the room instantly shifted, everyone shoving around people to get to their friends.
“—keep in mind, if I see any slacking off or trouble brewing in these new partnerships I will not hesitate to rearrange them!”
Slughorns's words were completely lost among the commotion as people paired off before you could even get your bearings. Snape stalled as he stared at you from across the room; Lily had already been dragged away by Mary, and his brain was trying to work out how to ask you to be his partner.
Suddenly an arm was slung over your shoulder and you turned towards the new presence in surprise. You looked up to see Evan Rosier, the sleeves of his shirt rolled up to his elbows and his Slytherin tie loose around his neck.
Oh, sod it, Snape cursed internally. He was too late.
“Wanna partner up?” Rosier asked, a crooked grin gracing his chiseled features, “It'd be my honor to have the smartest Potions partner in class, not to mention the most attractive.”
You rolled your eyes at the praise. Evan was your friend, and he was nice to look at, but if he thought that you would be willing to do all the work for the both of you in exchange for some cheap compliments, then he had another thing coming. You locked eyes with Snape from across the room
“It would be your honor,” you smirked up at Rosier, “but I already have a partner, sorry.”
It took Snape a few seconds to realize what you were doing, but once he snapped out of it he made his way towards you. You almost chuckled at how robotic he looked as he did, clearly shocked.
Rosier looked between the two of you and rolled his eyes.
“Suit yourself, sweetheart,” he said, letting you go and pushing you lightly in Snape's direction, “but if you change your mind, you know where to find me.” He sent a wink your way that left Snape's blood inexplicably boiling,
“Thanks for that,” you grinned, “and just so you know, I would have chosen you even if he didn't come up to me, so don't get all pouty about it, okay?”
Severus just looked at you blankly. Even after four years it was frightening how well you were able to read him; for a moment he was scared that he'd accidentally projected his thoughts to you, but he wasn't anywhere near that level of legillemency yet. He wanted to say something that had some semblance of gratitude but settled on:
“Whatever.”
To which you just laughed and dragged him to your now shared desk.
You really were something else.
“Now then,” Professor Slughorn addressed the room, “today we will be beginning the new unit on toxic concoctions, starting with the Draught of Living Death. If you would all turn to page ten of your books, we will get started presently.”
You turned open your book and Severus did the same. As he did, you noticed that nearly every page was covered in small notes littering the margins, with some of the instructions circled, crossed out, or modified. You were hardly surprised, Snape had been pouring over this book since last year when he'd stolen it from a fifth year Slytherin who'd been speaking poorly of you (that last part you were unaware of).
You turned your attention to the directions, reaching over to preheat the burner so your cauldron would be hot enough by the time you began. However, as soon as you lit the flame with the tip of your wand, your cauldron shot up into the air, hitting the ceiling with a loud BANG! before crashing down back onto your table, breaking several of the glass instruments that were settled there.
Your face burned embarrassment as everyone in the room turned to look at you in shock.
“Snape, (L/n),” Slughorn said, surprised, “whatever happened?”
“I. . .” you began, not knowing what to say, “I don't know, I'm sorry, Professor.”
“Quite all right,” he said uncertainly, restoring your table and equipment with a wave of his wand, “just be sure whatever that was doesn't happen again.”
“Of course,” you mumbled, trying to ignore the snickering around you. If you noticed the way that it stopped as soon as Snape sent a deathly glare at the culprits, you didn't show it. You reached down to grab your cauldron, noticing that the bottom was dusted in some sort of orange powder. As you turned it over, a note fell out of it.
You're welcome, (L/n). Sorry I couldn't be there for the fireworks~
J.P.
“That sneaky little, ugh,” you crumpled the note, growling in frustration.
“What is it?” Severus asked, peering over your shoulder to glance at the paper. However, as soon as you tried to show it to him it vanished in your hands in a wisp of glowing embers. You turned to look at Severus who was still staring at you expectantly.
“It was Potter,” you rolled your eyes.
Anger flashed in Severus' eyes before confusion replaced it momentarily.
“But that was your cauldron, not mine. Why would Potter want to mess with you?”
And now the anger was back again. Snape was used to Potter’s crew targeting him; bullying and suffering through minor hexes had become an everyday occurrence, but when he imagined them doing anything to you it was enough to make him see red.
“Ah, well. . .” you trailed off, deciding that telling him you'd yelled at the group of Gryffindors: 'if you jerks want to have a go at Severus you're gonna have to get through me first!' was a bad idea.
“I sort of, maybe, kind of. . . started it?” you said. Severus raised a brow at you. “Look, Potter was asking for it, okay? It was about time someone messed with him for a change. And besides, it was hilarious, even Lily got a kick out of watching that broom hit him in the head.”
Severus chuckled at that, a hint of pride welling in his chest at yours and Lily's shared distaste for the Potter boy.
“But that was the last straw,” you declared, grabbing a Sopophorus bean from the bowl in front of you and a knife to cut it as per the instructions, “I'm sick and tired of him acting like he's better than everyone else,” you said, stabbing down with your knife for emphasis. The Sopophorus bean jumped as you did, sliding out from under your blade and skidding across your cutting board. You huffed as you grabbed it again, placing it back down and holding it in place. “And he walks around with that little posse of his like he runs this school!” You brought your knife down again, moving your fingers at the last second, but the bean still managed to slip away, trying to bounce back into the bowl.
“This means war!” you seethed, grabbing the runaway legume again, now at your wit's end, and crushing it in your fist. It stopped jumping as the beet-red juice of the plant dripped down your arm, and Severus looked at you with a small smirk on his face.
“Well, that's one way to do it,” he said.
“Shove off,” you said playfully, throwing the bean in his direction. He dodged it easily, his smile growing.
“No, really,” he said, almost more to himself than you as he scribbled out the word 'cut' and replaced it with 'crush' in his notebook, “you might be better at this than you let on.”
You blushed at the unexpected compliment, backhanded as it was.
“Excuse you, I happen to be fantastic at Potions,” you said, grabbing another bean and avoiding his gaze.
“Right, that's why your cauldron exploded.”
“That was sabotage,” you shot back.
“I was talking about last week,” Severus said cheekily, taking in your flustered expression.
You both went back to your ingredients, eventually discovering that crushing the beans with the flat of a knife was the best way to extract the juice without them jumping. You watched Severus out of the corner of your eye as he measured out the African Sea water, adding it gradually as he stirred the mixture counter-clockwise. The elixir turned a bright blue color, shimmering as if light were being reflected off of it. He continued on with the formula, snapping off a few fluxweed sprigs before adding them and lowering the heat with his wand, hardly looking at the instructions at all.
You wondered where this newfound confidence had come from. Severus was usually so rigid and withdrawn, but right now he looked more at ease than you had ever seen him. A spark was present in his eyes as he worked that you rarely ever saw, and it made you smile despite yourself.
The rest of your potion making process went on without a hitch, and you silently applauded yourself as you watched the other students around you struggle to get their concoctions together. Even Lily seemed to be having trouble, though Mary wasn't really helping other than offering moral support.
You turned back to focus on your own potion, stirring it with the ladle and mesmerized by the way it began to turn a deep plum color. Meanwhile, Severus was cleaning up your shared station, looking over at the brew. His brows furrowed as he examined it.
“Just stir it a bit more,” he said, coming up behind you and placing his hand on top of yours, “the color is still off.”
Your face burned at the unexpected contact; Snape certainly wasn't a touchy person, so the act caught you completely off guard, though you'd be lying if you said you didn't like it. Severus nearly jumped backwards, absolutely mortified when he realized what he was doing. It was him micromanaging more than anything; he was so focused on getting the potion right he didn't even notice he was moving his own body as he gave you the instruction.
“Sorry,” he said, feeling quite possibly the lamest he'd ever felt in his life.
“It's okay,” you said, biting the inside of your lip nervously and continuing to stir like he said. Your light response allowed Snape to relax, his shoulders lowering a full three inches. He'd been certain you would have reacted to his mistake with disgust or repulsion, but you didn't. What did that mean? You were utterly confusing. Despite how well you could read him, Severus was unable to get a read on you at all. If he had been, he would have noticed the tiny smile on your face as you stirred, silently wishing his hand were back on yours.
You and Snape stood at attention as Slughorn peered down at your potion, looking mildly impressed. He reached into his robes, procuring an oak leaf from who knows where, and dropped it into your cauldron. The leaf floated on top of the liquid for just a moment before its edges began to burn. It furled from the unseen heat, folding in on itself and disappearing into the inky depths of the liquid. Slughorn's expression lit up, his impression no longer mild.
“Merlin's beard, it's perfect!” he exclaimed, “in all my years I've never seen a pair recreate this potion exactly as you two have done today.”
You beamed at the praise, your smile only widening as you saw your emotions mirrored in Severus' face, albeit more subtly.
Over the course of your fourth year, you and Snape continued to excel in Potions, receiving much praise from Professor Slughorn and a lot of glares from your fellow students. However, there was something else that continued that year, and that was your increasing interactions with James Potter.
“I just don't get why you even bother with him,” Snape had said to you one day while you were in Potions. Your prank war with James was at its peak, and you were sidetracked that day in class coming up with new ideas to get back at him.
“It's a full on battle now, Sev,” you said, “I can't back down! Now, for my next one I was thinking something along the lines of a callback to one of his earlier stunts. Maybe get him back for tampering with my cauldron at the beginning the year.”
“(Y/n)—”
“I've got a few friends in Gryffindor, and apparently he talks about his prank plans way too loudly in the common room, so I have a head start on this one. They mentioned something about my shampoo—“
“(Y/n),” Severus stressed, finally catching your attention. You looked up at him, embarrassed at you rambling. “Why do you keep doing this?” he asked, “he's just baiting you. You know that.”
“It keeps them from doing anything that targets you, right?” you questioned back.
Severus didn't know what to say at that. It was true, ever since you had declared war on James, he and his stupid friends hadn't really bothered with him at all. Were you doing this for him? He didn't know what to do with the thought.
You were, of course, but you thought it better not to mention that in the last few months this had been going on, you'd also begun to find the rivalry and banter between you and James fun.
“Gather 'round students, gather 'round!” Slughorn beckoned the class over, disrupting your train of thought and putting an end to your conversation, “now, would anyone like to identify the potion in this cauldron here?” He gestured to a shockingly pink liquid that seemed to swirl on its own. Plum and periwinkle smoke wafted through the air above it in delicate spirals.
“That's Amortentia,” Lily said, “it's a love potion that's supposed to smell different to everyone depending on what scents attract them.”
“Right you are, Miss Evans,” Slughorn said proudly, “would you like to tell us what you smell?”
“Cinnamon,” she started slowly, “warm spices, butterbeer, sandalwood. . .” her cheeks reddened significantly, as if she'd made some sort of realization. “Th-that's all.” You stared at her quizzically but she just shook her head. You'd have to ask her about this later. . .
“(L/n),” Slughorn said, “would you be so kind as to do the same?”
“Sure,” you said, stepping up to the cauldron. It was captivating, almost drawing you in physically. “Wild lavender,” you said, smiling, your mother had a garden full of them when you were growing up, “rain when it hits the pavement, and old leather books.” Scents you wouldn't realize until much later all correlated with a certain person.
“Very different scents for very different people,” Professor Slughorn said, “thank you for demonstrating, you two. Now, we will not be brewing this potion today for obvious reasons. It is incredibly dangerous, capable of creating not true love, but unhinged obsession. What we will be doing, however, is studying its effects. . .”
“Strongest love potion in the world, huh?” Evan suddenly appeared at your side, “funny, I could have sworn it smelled just like you, although you wouldn't need a potion to reign me in~”
“Put a sock in it, Rosier,” you said, shoving him away playfully.
“Aw, come on, just one date wouldn't hurt,” he said, “I'm pulling out all my best lines here!”
“That's the best you've got?”
“Ouch.”
Snape couldn't help but glare at the Slytherin boy, not liking how close he was to you. Nice as he seemed, Snape knew how he could really be. He didn't think you'd be such good friends with Rosier if you knew he was knee deep in the dark arts as soon as the sun set on the castle. Then again, Severus wasn't one to talk.
Over the course of the year he noticed that you only grew closer to James, something that bothered him immensely. He was grateful that you had gotten his bullying to stop, but he hated that the way you had gone about it was to turn Potter into a friend. . .
“Merlin, he keeps looking over at you, Lils,” you said.
Lily and Severus looked over to where James sat with Sirius, Remus, and Peter in their corner table as usual. Somehow they always managed to be at The Three Broomsticks at the exact same time as your trio, almost as if they knew you were there. James Potter was, in fact, looking towards your table, until your friends not-so-discreetly turned to look at him and he diverted his gaze elsewhere.
“Idiot,” you rolled your eyes as you took another sip of your butterbeer.
Lily looked between you and James' table for a moment before turning back to you.
“Actually, (Y/n), he's staring at you.”
You looked at her like she'd grown a second head but then began to laugh.
“Is he? Jeeze, what a creep,” you said, but with affection in your voice that wasn't missed by Severus, “it's probably because I saved his ass the other day and he's still reeling from it.”
“Oh,” she said, a hint of what you swore was relief in her tone until she realized what you said, “Wait, you what?”
“Sirius and I were talking in the forest and we got ambushed by Malfoy's motley crew,” you said, “and Potter showed up because of course he did. It was just a little duel, no big deal.”
“What?!” Lily said, concern written all over her face, “they fancy the dark arts, (Y/n), you could have been hurt!”
Severus stared into his drink, unable to look at either of you.
“I'm fine, Lils,” you insisted, “and trust me, I don't think Malfoy's going to be bothering anyone anymore. Just show him a picture of a squid and he'll probably screech like a banshee.”
Lily laughed along with you, partially in confusion, until the first part of your statement hit her with a slight delay.
“Hold on, you were in the forest with Black? And did you just call him Sirius?” she asked, her teasing making your face flush.
“We just. . . figured some stuff out. . . It was nothing like what you're thinking, so drop it,” you grumbled, taking another drink to hide your embarrassed face.
“Whatever you say, (Y/n),” Lily sang, taking a sip of her own drink.
Severus felt jealousy bubble up in him like a disease. He cast his gaze upwards, his eyes locking momentarily with James'. His arch rival rose a cocky brow at him, his gaze unmistakably shifting to you and Lily before staring Snape down again. Severus took a sharp breath to steel himself, that feeling in the pit of his stomach never really going away.
That was the beginning of the end.
“So you finally decided to call me over?” Ethan smirked, looking down at Y/n. Her disheveled hair and puffy eyes did things to Ethan, playing with what he hid deep, deep inside.
“Only the best treatment for our guest.” Vic chimed in, swiping her thumb below her chin, gathering some of Y/n’s cum on it, before licking it right off.
Ethan’s eyes darkened, his smirk fading away. He descended onto the bed, right next to Y/n’s side.
“I think you’ve had enough of Vic being this cocky. Help me switch the tables.” He whispered, igniting a spark inside of Y/n.
“You’re corrupting the gir-“
“Quiet.”
Y/n found it hard to believe that a girl as confident and fiery as Vic would follow someone’s instructions this quickly, but a stern look from Ethan was enough to even make her blush.
“So listen up dolcezza, our lovely little blondie over here seems to like blood. How about we do something with that?” His warm hand was already on Y/n’s chin, guiding her towards him.
“Where do we even get blood from?” She asked, a slight tinge of fear crossing her.
“Oh I mustn’t have mentioned, she also likes being bit.”
As she caught on, the same smirk which was on Ethan’s face mirrored onto hers.
“Go ahead, get her naked.”
Y/n glanced over at Victoria, who was rested against the head board. A hand was lightly pressed between her legs, a nonchalant look on her face despite Y/n being able to tell she was looking forward to it.
“Well come on puppy, are you really not gonna do what Ethan asked you?” She inquired with a sarcastic tone, eyeing Y/n down.
The girl glanced at Ethan, who gave her a reassuring nod.
“Come here.”
Victoria puffed, amused at the shakiness in the girl’s voice, but did what was asked of her regardless. Still wanting to play with the girl, she opted to tower over her, staring into her eyes with a deep red gleam.
“Uh- You should take your… earrings off.” Y/n managed to let out, mad at herself for being so easily intimidated by the blonde, who scoffed and rolled her eyes.
“You should be guided, puppy, not so dominating, are you?” Vic let out, still not willing to let over control.
“You should shut up.”
Y/n’s words widened the blonde’s eyes, while Ethan chuckled behind them, still watching like a hungry eagle.
“Now take your clothes off.” She breathed out, starting to enjoy the feeling that came with seeing Victoria do what she told her.
The black gown was soon thrown onto the floor, right beside Y/n’s own clothes, and the two girls were now naked in front of each other.
“Well that was entertaining to watch. Y/n, grab the ropes and tie Vic to the bed.”
“What ro-“
Before she could finish her sentence, 4 red pieces of silk appeared in her hands. She looked at Victoria, who was now staring right back at her. It was a game. The second Y/n would let her dominance fall, Vic snatched it right back and made her even shyer. As with most games, Y/n was determined to win.
“Ethan, get off the bed. Vic, get in the middle of it.” She said, while climbing off along with Ethan. The blonde did as instructed, without any remarks on funny looks this time.
Now, Y/n was nervous. How did she tie her hands? Where? How tight? She didn’t want to hurt her…
“I’ll tell you how.” Vic spoke from below her. “Oh so you decide to be helpful for once?”
Vic’s laugh vibrated throughout Y/n’s body, making her shiver.
“Don’t make me change my mind, cutie.”
Y/n bit her lip, holding in another comment, and listened to Vic as she told her how to tie her up.
“Good, now just tighten it. Hard.”
The girl looked down, trying to focus on the task at hand, and not the sensation of Vic’s breath on her chest.
A load of blushing and fumbling later, Vic was tied to the bed and Ethan came over to inspect Y/n’s work.
“Good girl. Now bite her.”
“What?”
“Oh come on puppy, did you expect us to be into unicorns and butterflies?”
Y/n took a step back, slightly overwhelmed with all their stares on her.
“Ethan, guide her.”
The man hummed in response, as he walked right up to Y/n from behind, resting his large, warm hands on her.
“Relax, dolcezza. If you want to stop, we will.”
“No its- its ok.” The girl confirmed, leaning her head back as Ethan kept rubbing her shoulders.
“Alright. Just rest on your knees above Vic, and kiss her neck.
Y/n nodded and got closer to her, looking gently into her eyes for confirmation.
“I’m all yours, cucciola.” Vic breathed out, while Y/n kissed down her neck.
A trail of saliva was left in her wake, marking every place Y/n had been. She reached her pulse, sucking softly on it, making sure a bruise would remain there.
Ethan rested his hand on the nape of Y/n’s neck, pulling lightly at her soft hair.
“Now go harder.”
Y/n focused on a single spot, sucking on it harshly as Vic’s breath became heavier and heavier.
“Come on, bite her.”
Y/n’s pupils dilated, and she finally dug in. Biting softly at first, she increased the pressure as she noticed no restraint from the girl. Only whimpers.
“Fuck Y/n harder!” The blonde moaned, arching into Y/n’s mouth.
The irony tinge of blood soon filled Y/n’s mouth, as a satisfied breath left Victoria.
Y/n pulled away, examining what was left in her wake. Purple splotches all over Victoria’s blushed neck contrasted with her blonde hair, neatly arranged around her head on the silk pillow.
“Good. Now I’ll show you just how useful fangs are in this situation.” Ethan breathed out, with a devious grin on his face.
The veins around his neck and eyes turned black, long, white fangs extending from his canines and his eyes turned a deep red.
Vic’s eyes glinted, watching as Ethan descended on ber body, and slowly left a red trail of blood all over her stomach and neck.
Once he was done, they both began grinning maniacally as they made eye contact, instantly turning their attention to Y/n, who stood dumbfounded in a corner.
“Now…” Ethan spoke, his voice now lower and groggier, “ Spread it all over with your hands.”
Y/n nodded shortly as she approached Victoria again. Her eyelids covered half her glowing eyes, deeply focused on Y/n.
A delicate hand touched the blonde’s stomach, testing to see if it hurt.
The blood clung to her fingers, spreading around as she moved her hand all over her body.
Seeing Vic like this, tied up and full of blood turned Y/n on more than she would have thought.
Instinctively, she licked up her stomach, cleaning a long line of blood, and tasted it thoroughly as the irony tinge filled her scent.
“So you already know what to do. Now let’s get her clean.”
Ethan dragged Y/n down, settling her so that she would be between Vic’s legs. The girl got the hint and began licking her thighs.
Swipe after swipe, Y/n grew more desperate as Victoria’s whimpers filled the room.
“Fuck just-“
Vic kept moaning, not being able to form a coherent sentence. An infinte wave of lust washed over her, like waves at the beach. She arched into the mattress, into Y/n’s mouth and began pulling at the ropes, trying to get them untied.
Beads of sweat fell down her forehead, soon followed by tears, revealing the skin behind al those layers of blood.
“Listen up, Vic. I’m tired of being filled with blood. So I’ll let sweet little Y/n to finish pleasing you, I’m ordering a pizza.” Ethan said, having noticed the rush that came to Y/n when she was totally in charge.
“Now it’s just you and I.” Vic whispered, too weak to talk louder.
“Tell me what you want me to do to you.”
“Suck my clit till I cum.”
Y/n didn’t need to be told twice. She was already in a convenient position, too.
Leaning down, she began circling her pussy, painfully away from where Vic wanted her to be.
“Y/n, please…” the blonde begged, trying to push her closed with her legs, which, to her dismay, were still tied to the bed.
Y/n smirked against Vic, loving her response, and finally deciding to be nice.
She licked between her folds, sending shivers through Vic, whose eyes were brimmed with tears.
Y/n wrapped her soft lips around Vic’s clit, sucking softly, until the blonde was trembling.
She increased the pressure, all while her moans grew louder and more frequent.
With one loud scream, Vic began shaking hardly against Y/n’s face, filling it with her cum as she rode out her climax.
It was as if fireworks exploded inside of Vic, an indescribable feeling which left her gasping for breath.
“Now would you look at that, it stopped raining.”
“Don’t you dare leave.”
Y/n grinned as she got off the bed, swiftly throwing her clothes on and putting her hair in a bun.
“Expect me here every time it rains.”
Y/n left the room, shutting the door behind her, a grin on her face, while Vic was left breathless, tied to the bed.
Love is a strange thing.
It pulls individuals together, sparking fireworks and blissful rays of euphoria within seconds. It renders people affectionate, words dripped with honey and caresses full of tenderness transcending  without a means of stopping. To be frank, it’s majestic through the eyes of the beholder.
But love is indeed a strange thing.
It’s history has been plagued with moments of weakness and hesitation, moments that rip away layers to reveal raw, vulnerable selves from every individual. It’s inability to forget and move on clutches onto the minds of those that chose to associate with it, invading their memories and never granting them a single second to run free. Love is a strange thing, but it’s most putrid use has always been the necessity to use it like a tool.
A deep breath escapes your tinted red lips, cold hands clutching onto the delicate bouquet that’s been thrust into them. The petal pink and lilac purple flowers rest against the chaste white of your dress, the awaited arrival of yours long passed as you raise your head and sneak a peek at the person standing in front of you behind your veil.
Clad in a special tailored suit for the occasion, his dark brown hair has been brushed back and neatly tucked into the corners of his hair. He stands tall and confident, seemingly captivated by the words the priest mumbles through as he drags on through every dull phase written in his book. As if he can tell your eyes are on him, he suddenly looks in your direction and you return your gaze back to the ground, clutching onto the array of petals in your hands.
The priest goes on to dutifully declare the responsibilities you must carry, including the very ones that tie you to each other.
For better, for worse. Rich, poor. Sickness, health.
Love. Cherish.
“Until death do you part?” The priest peers up with fatigued eyes, glancing in between you. You suck in a shaky breath, eyes fixating on everything except for the man standing on the opposing side.
“I-I do.” You hastily mutter, swallowing the lump stuck in your throat. Patiently waiting for his answer, you try not to focus on the collection of eyes gawking at you from the altar.
“I do.” He states, firm and resolute with his answer. It shakes you to your core, eyes immediately flickering up to meet his warm ones.
You’re perplexed for a moment, but you’re not given time to dwell any longer once the priest shuts his book, content with your answers. Relief floods you in an instant, yet it’s short-lived and has your stomach churning instead.
“You may kiss the bride.” The priest steps back as if you needed room for the grandiose gesture, eagerly awaiting the showcase with the rest of the people seated in front of the altar. Nevertheless, your hands begin to quiver despite your best wishes and you remain planted in place.
Before you even know it, the delicate veil resting against your forehead is being pulled up and tucked away, projecting your dolled up features on full display. You can only fidget when he draws near, preparing for the worse until he pauses.
Glancing up in surprise, you’re caught off guard from the lines crossing his forehead and the dismay clouding his eyes. For a second, you could have sworn that you were gazing into a mirror, an image of your combined concerns being painted right in front of you.
You’re caught in between a daze and bewilderment when he advances again, however all you feel is a soft peck against your skin before your veil is placed back into place. Your audience seems to be at loss with the action, but once he turns around to face them in the midst of holding your hand, loud cheers and roars flood the room as congratulatory confetti bursts into the room.
Unconsciously, your hand drifts over to your cheek with furrowed brows and you steal another glance at the man you will be bound to for eternity.
***
The L/N Family.
Tactical and resourceful, known for their skillful strategies and trade explorations, a business they would go on to proudly pronounce in the arms industry. Others would look to them for support and reassurance, and they would in return cohesively make protective deals that would ensure no harm. Yonghwa, their head, would go on to make a legacy out of his family name.
The Kim Family.
Discreet and powerful, known for their relentless determination and invokable hunger, characteristics that would eventually seep into their weapon manufacturing business. They know how and with whom to pick their fights, vigorously acquiring a steady position in the industry within a flash before everyone’s eyes. Namjung, their head, carved the Kim name into a status no one would have ever imagined.
Trade and manufacturing, two able sides of the same coin. They seeked to forge an union that would unite their two sectors, to create a harmonious flow of success within their collective industries.
But not all deals, go as planned.
On the fateful day, Yonghwa was found on the ground in a pool of his own blood while Namjung was left visibly shaken. Catastrophe seemed to only follow the event there on after, with both families seeking revenge on the other. Their union seemed to be the last thing on either mind, but after the years passed and stained relations had been fully dragged out, there only seemed to be one solution that could bring peace to the two of them.
***
The wheels of the large suitcase hit the polished ground.
It’s lavish and grand, crystals littering the high held ceiling and lilies spread over the handles of the spiraling staircase. It ends right at the large chandelier, with more crystals dangling down opposite the shining marble that your slippers find purchase in.
You remain in place, staring with wide eyes and an agape jaw the scenery before you.
“Please,” A girl bows before you, dressed in a simple pale blouse and skirt that’s paired with an apron. There’s a small twinkle in her pleasant eyes paired with natural pouting lips; the delicate features drawing out the sheer youth the girl embodies. “Follow me.”
You snap out of your daze once she advances forward, her hands careful weaving through yours to clutch onto your packed luggage. At first, you’re a bit unsure as to if you should let her carry the heavy load up the stairs, but you’re pleasantly surprised when she manages to hall it all the way up.
She roughly pushes herself against a large wooden door, revealing the grand room behind it. It’s decorated similarly to the main portion of the house, however the sheer size of it has your jaw dropping again, eyebrows furrowed as its appearance.
Your suspicions are confirmed right away, “This will be your room, Miss Y/N.”
“I-I…” You can’t help but hesitate, “Are you sure?”
She nods, placing your luggage now. “Of course, Master Kim asked us to prepare it for you.”
You instinctively flinch at the sudden mention of your husband, but the girl tilts her head to the side, curiosity peeking through her.
“Don’t they have such rooms in the L/N residence?” Her eyes suddenly widen, and she slaps a hand against her mouth, “Oh no, I-I didn’t mean it that way!”
A smile curls on the corners of your lips, “What’s your name?”
She gazes at you with surprise, like she had been expecting a scolding fit for her lifetime. Nonetheless, she hastily answers your question with a bow.
“I am Eunjoo, one of Master Kim’s most faithful servants.”
“Little flower.” You decipher, “Sounds like a fitting name.”
“It could have been summer’s grace.” Eunjoo offers with a shrug, “Though I don’t really like summer, so I’ve tried my best to ignore that meaning.”
You let out a genuine chuckle from that, something that has Eunjoo instantly beam. The news of her own Master getting married to someone from the L/N family was initially difficult for her to digest, but it appears that she was too early to judge.
A lopped smile etching onto your features, “And to answer your previous question, unfortunately the L/N’s don’t have such a residence. We’ve lost much of our wealth after‒…” You pause, biting back your words, “...after, you know.”
You wave your hand away in the air and Eunjoo understandably nods, no need to delve into the long-lived history of your families that is known to all. She hurriedly aids in you in unpacking much to your reassured protests, following and assisting you around like a little fairy. Her company ends up being both interesting and comfortable, especially since the two of you discovered the other wasn’t well in adapting the titles you carry.
A knock resounds against the door, drawing out your attention. Immediately Eunjoo drops the clothes in her hands, right before she straightens up and takes a graceful bow.
Her reaction is telling of who's at the door, so with pinched lips and a creased forehead, you turn around.
He remains glued to the door frame, still adorned in his tailored black suit. Aside from the similarity in his put together appearance though, his shoulders are no longer hiked up in a noble stance, nor is there any remaining amount of warmth spreading through his eyes. Instead, he appears akin to how he was in the split-second before your ultimate union was official, the memory causing the skin of your cheek to slightly burn.
Swaying from side to side, he hesitates to step into the room.
“I see you’ve met Eunjoo.” He mentions. On cue, the servant straightens up, a huge smile on her lips.
“I was just helping Miss Y/N unpack!”
“Oh that’s nice, perhaps I can assist to‒” He isn’t able to finish his sentence, because the next thing you know you jolt at the sound of a loud crash that echoes through the room.
“Master Kim!” Eunjoo immediately rushes forward, scurrying to help the fallen man. He instantly rises up to his feet and dusts off his suit jacket, but remains of glass are scattered all over the ground.
He lets out a groan and Eunjoo sighs, “Master, you know you have to be careful.” She begins to quickly pluck up the shards of the vase, raising one up to eye level with a pout, “I especially picked this one out for your newly wedded wife.”
At the mention of you, Namjoon instantly glances up, pupils shaking. “I-I can get you a new one soon, it might take around a week but if I put in a request now‒” He scrambles around for a moment, before checking the inner pockets of his jacket for something to write on in a haste.
Unconsciously, a small smile cracks through the seam of your lips, increasing as he tries to intervene with Eunjoo to pick the shards, and she protests that he shouldn’t get his hands soiled with her errands. He eventually has to sheepishly stand to the side, staring at her defeated like a child that had just gotten scolded for misbehaving.
Eunjoo eventually collects all the pieces and ushers herself out, reminding you of the pending family dinner you’ll need to attend in the evening. She leaves the room and you decide to resume unpacking, until you come across the realization that you’re not alone.
“Do you need help?” He peers at your suitcase behind you, “I’m usually more capable with things that aren’t easy to break.”
The abrupt proximity catches you by surprise, but you merely shake your head at his kind offer, “I should be fine, thank you.”
He nods and you assume he’ll excuse himself after a moment, but he lingers and that’s when you crane your head over at him.
Appearing to be in between a deep ponder, he snaps back into reality once your questioning eyes fall onto him. “Uh I‒” A lengthy sigh leaves his lips, “I know this is strange.”
You wonder what he's referring to until you notice him gesturing to the gap between you, “It’s strange for me, and it’s strange for you. We didn’t really have a choice in the matter.”
He sheepishly scratches the back of his neck, a deep crease forming between his brows. You’re frozen in place, at a complete loss for words.
He suddenly sucks in a breath, looking up to gaze into your eyes, “But I’d like to get to know you better….a-as my future wife.”
Your eyes round and his declaration only receives dead silence in its awake. Flabbergasted, he attempts to correct himself amidst your prolonged response.
“T-That doesn’t mean right away! We can take our time and I’m not expecting anything from you, so you don’t need to worry and‒”
“I’d like that.”
He freezes, “Wait, really?”
You hum, a corner of your mouth lifting, “You’re right, it’s strange. But I’d like to get to know my husband better as well.”
His eyes immediately sparkle, like you’ve said the very words he’s been aching to hear, “That’s great!” A breathtaking smile overtakes his features, “I guess I’ll see you at dinner then?”
You nod with a smile,  and he departs, the euphoria never once leaving his lips.
***
Evening draws near and long gone is the dilatory white piece of garment that’s forever confined you to your fate. Instead, it’s replaced with a delicate fabric of rose gold, perhaps to represent the luxury you have of being present in such a place or in the new beginnings that will soon follow you.
Regardless, you prepare yourself. Although you’re simply arriving to dinner, there’s a family waiting at the table that you don’t know of yet.
Eunjoo brings you down with her after putting your hair up and presenting a pair of matching heels your way. You’re wary as you walk down the spiraling staircase, barely balancing yourself on the elevated shoes. Luckily, Eunjoo notices and helps you down, but the split moment of relief is met with a jolt of surprise when you notice someone waiting at the bottom.
“I’ll take it from here, Eunjoo.” The women amiably bids. Eunjoo swiftly bows, mumbling something along the lines of Mistress Kim, before heading into the dinner room.
You immediately whirl around, eyes on alert like a deer in headlights. She mirthfully smiles at you, carrying a warm tone in her eyes that feels familiar.
“You don’t have to look so worried,” She reprimands, “I’m not going to bite your head off.”
Your eyes widen even more, “I-I’m sorry?”
She bursts out into laughter, concealing her ruby red lips with a hand that is glittering in assorted jewels.
“Nothing, dear. I’m just teasing you.” You nervously laugh at that, and she places a hand against your back, guiding you forward. “Come, I’m eager to know what my son’s wife is like.”
Politely nodding, you follow behind her and nearly freeze. If you had expected your bedroom to be astonishing, then you weren’t prepared for the enormous buffet that waits for you ahead.
Pieces of food are scattered all over the decorated table, ranging from freshly cooked to foods you would have never imagined yourself eating. It reminds you of times your family could barely manage to have a decent meal for one night, lost scavenging for food that wouldn’t make your empty pockets hurt.
You’re so lost in the thought that you don’t feel someone brush by you. There’s suddenly a warm hand planting onto your shoulder, drawing your attention with a smile full of dimples.
“Do you want to sit down first?” He gestures to the table, where his mother sits next to his father and opposite to his sister. Embarrassed that you’ve been just gawking at the table, you hurriedly take a seat and so does Namjoon.
Even though you’re only just sitting at the table, it seems like all eyes are on you, burning into your skin and tracing every move. The impending silence eventually does crack though, and it’s done by a person you would have least expected.
“Is that chicken?” Namjoon’s father blurts out, his eyes following a tray one of the servants brings by. His wife immediately interjects, dismayed by his reaction.
“Indeed,” She points a demanding finger at him, “But none for you, there’s a reason why your health hasn’t been the greatest as of lately.”
He pouts at her response, longley staring at the dish once it arrives. The childlike display catches you a bit off guard, eyebrows raised.
“That’s unreasonable though.” He suddenly looks in your direction, “What do you think, Y/N? Isn’t she being unreasonable?”
The abrupt inquiry leaves you speechless, no coherent words manifesting at the tip of your tongue. His wife whirls around, cocking up a brow in his direction.
“Why are you dragging her into this?” She faces you with a smile, “Y/N is the newest addition to our family so we should make her feel welcome, not bring her into such trivial matters.”
The pleasant response astonishes you, but more so the mention of your inclusion. He lets out a sigh, acknowledging his wife’s sentiments.
“You’re right.” He turns to you, “Y/N, why don’t you tell us about yourself?”
His mother hums, “I’d like to hear about where you grew up, Y/N.”
“Oh, it’s nothing really special,” You grow bashful, “I was raised in the outskirts of the country by my parents.”
The two of them nod, intently listening to you, “Before coming here, I studied in the imperial academy for a while.”
“Ah, involved in the industry I see.” He praises, “You must know a lot about how our businesses are conducted, right?”
“Not quite.” There’s a strained smile on your lips, “I didn’t want to actively participate in it.”
Although your answer seems to have taken both of them by surprise, his wife hums in approval. “So I’m assuming that was your personal choice?”
When you nod, a giant smile stretches onto her lips, and she elbows her husband, “A gutsy one, don’t you think?”
He smiles in retaliation, “Just like you.”
She blushes at his sudden compliment, but a voice from afar breaks the two out of their daze.
“Gross - we’re eating here.”
Appalled at the feminine voice, you notice the young girl seated across from Namjoon, a deep frown etched onto her stern features.
“Leave them be, Geongmin.” Namjoon coaxes his sister, but she lets out a grunt of disapproval in the midst of eating soup.
The corners of his mother’s lips turn up and his father faces you again, looking as if he had a million questions up his sleeve lined up just for you.
Much to your surprise, the rest of the evening is spent exchanging pleasantries with them and keeping conversation light. There even comes a moment when both you and Namjoon end up reaching out for the bread basket, only to pull away once you discover your hands had ended up meeting halfway. As you grow bashful, you notice his mother smiling tenderly and his father chuckling at the abrupt affiliation.
Once the evening begins to come to an end, you excuse yourself through the use of your own fatigue and request to head to bed first. They waste no time in understanding, with Namjoon’s father even wrapping a hand around his son and expressing that he needed to discuss some things with him anyway.
You leave the room as he heads off with his family, granting you with some much-needed time and space.
***
Treading back, you pause at the large wooden door that leads into your room. Your eyes briefly skim over the fine carvings on the wood, instead choosing to scrutinize the direction of your right and left side. A shadow casts over your pupils and your hand presses against the door, letting it slowly creak wide open.
Step by step, you stroll inside and let the light fade out, replacing itself with only darkness.
The moment the source of luminescence disappears, you move within a flash. The handle is locked, tugged at for a confirmation. There’s a speck of radiance coming from the small lamp you’ve turned on, enough to see the large suitcase you’ve brought get yanked out.
Zippers are flying and the cover is ripped off. Clothes are frantically thrown astray, dumped into a careless heep without much of a second look. Your hands are weaving through the material and running rampant, eyes flickering with something akin to desire and alloyed with increasing unease.
Once your hands meet with metal, a twinkle emerges within your orbs. The spindle of ore is unwound; detangling the material in a quickened manner. It looks distinctly similar to what one would use for electrical purposes, set with the intention of providing light in grim areas.
Right. The intention.
Unraveled, you cautiously drift over to the large window by the bedside and crank it open. Peering outside, there’s no glimmer or streak of luminescence meeting your eyes, only a dark, simple gray sky.
Unconsciously a breath of relief leaves your lips and you reach out, reclining your body just enough to reach above and then below the window’s hilt. The instrument effortlessly blends in, appearing like a simple cable that’s been tightly strung around.
You lean back and rummage through the luggage on the ground, pulling out a small plastic box that doesn’t appear to be much, but more or less, is the sole thing you couldn’t have departed without. With a small hinged click, it connects to the thin barbed string you just unraveled and right when a quiet buzz resonates through, does a smile tugs on the corner of your lips.
A knock resonates through the box. Followed by another, and then another. It’s succeeded with a prolonged silence on your part, your entire body remaining in a frozen state.
Static echoes and you let out the air you didn’t realize you were holding from your lungs.
Within seconds, you are nimbly knocking against the box in repetitive notions. Your actions range from different types of knocks; heavy, light, twice the sound.
More static echoes and your eyes immediately widen, hands balling up into tighter fists.
A heavier one.
“I have….”
Lighter.
“...successfully infiltrated….”
One last firm knock.
“....the enemy household.”
@ekaterina-popova : hey! I found out that lupi means wolves and I instantly thought about Italian Remus. Can you write: Sirius flirts with Remus in French and then Remus answers him in Italian but sirius didn't know that he knows Italian so he melts
Sorry for writing it quite late but here you go! <3 Hope you like it!
Remus enters into their apartment—His and Sirius’ apartment.
“Honey, I’m home!” He calls out, and throws his key into a bowl he calls ‘something fancy china Lily bought.’
“You know it’s getting really cliché now,” Sirius appears in the corridor and Remus feels like he can’t breathe anymore because his boyfriend is wearing a red gypsy skirt with yellow frills on it, “so can you start saying something else? Like ‘Je suis chez moi, mon chérie.’ Or ‘votre bébé est à la maison.’ Huh?”
But Remus is spluttering, growing red in the face. He can tell that Sirius is speaking French on purpose, and it is a lot to handle. The most terrible has happened because Sirius has figured out why his boyfriend is at loss of words.
“Oh, you’re blushing so hard! Merlin you are in love with this skirt, aren’t you? My Remus Lupin has skirt kinks!”
“Shut up! It’s just because you are half naked, and you know how I get when I see you shirtless.” To display his nonchalance, he walks past his boyfriend and loosens the tie of his collar.
“Yeah, I remember fifth year when I came close to you while being shirtless, and you practically cried in front of me because your ears felt hot!” He doubles with laughter, his damp hair sprayed the faint droplets of water on Remus, and it is getting really hard for him to sit straight on the couch. The real question is: Why is he keeping himself from kissing his boyfriend senseless? Because Full moon is in two days, and he has to restrain himself from wrecking him. He can’t lose control even after how much Sirius has insisted that he can deal with it but Remus highly doubts it.
“Sirius, I’m trying to be sane here. But clearly, you are not helping.” Remus clenches his teeth under his mouth, and keeps his hands under his pockets.
“So you do like this skirt, don’t you?” He is grinning his Sirius Black grin with his dripping wet hair sticking to the space where his shoulders meets his neck. He is dazzling, the sexiest human ever to exist in Remus’ life. Remus stares in awe as his eyes travels from his sharp jawline to the muscles stretching from the base of his collarbone as he tilts his head a little backwards. Remus can’t tell if he is doing this also on purpose because his brain is fuzzy. He feels like he is drunk, and he is. He is drunk on Sirius Black. Then his eyes descends to his tattooed chest, and before they descend any lower than his naval area. He jerks himself out from the haze.
“Fuck,” he murmurs, “Sirius, just don’t talk. I-I can’t deal with you right now. You are too much today.”
“You know if someone else would have been in my place, they’d be offended but I swear to Merlin and Morgana, I’m so on fire right now, Moony.”
“Padfoot!” He glares at him but receives a bark of his favorite laughter, and he tries not to slip from his grip, “Okay, where did you get the skirt, anyway?”
“Lily! She said it was quite over-fitted for her.”
“Sirius, it’s a loose skirt with frills on it.” But Sirius makes a noise of disapproval from the back of his throat.
“Yes! And Lily is very pregnant, and please It’s called a gypsy skirt, lover boy.” Sirius comes close, and wiggles his hips in most obscene way that Remus hisses and then bits the inside of his cheek. He can tell that he has started to look at Sirius like he is the most delicious meal walking around him. He catches the whiff of the cologne he bought him for his seventeen birthday. And Remus thinks he is going to die with the heat between them.
“And!” Sirius is now barely at a distance from him. Those mere inches were close enough for Remus to feel the puffs of Sirius’ breaths on his bottom lip as he continues, “Would you still not want me if I come in a pencil skirt in front you?” Those arousing whispers set Remus’ body on fire because damn it! He isn’t a fashion designer but he knows fucking pencil skirts.
“Sirius! Please…” He cries, slipping away from the dangerous territory of Sirius’ charm which happens to be inversely proportional to Remus’ self-control. “It’s two days in full! And I’m driving crazy here! You are driving me crazy here because all I want is to eat you like you are my dinner for tonight.”
“Moony, by all means, I’d be lovely for your cannibalistic appetite.” Sirius makes a show of opening his arms to him, “Have me, darling. I’m all yours.”
“Urgh! I can’t! Just go—I can’t lose control—I just can’t!”
“But Moony—“
“No means no. Vai nella tua stanza! I want to fucking breathe.” He doesn’t realize what he has said even after it has been apparent for solid fifteen seconds that Sirius hasn’t left the living room as he is told. Remus looks up from the book he has suddenly started reading. Of course, he is pretending to read. How can he read when he feels like the argument isn’t finished yet. Remus looks up and freezes because Sirius is wide-eyed and open-mouthed.
“Did-did-you just…Did you just speak…?” Remus holds back a laugh because the surging confidence and sexiness that usually radiates from the Great Sirius Black seems to have dissipated into thin air. And then Remus is able to put a finger on it.
“Italian?” He cocks an eyebrow, feeling dominant all of a sudden as he stands up to walk towards Sirius, “Stai arrossendo troppo!”
“I thought you speak Welsh!” Sirius splutters, his cheeks glowing red as if someone he has grown microscopic extra bunch of red roses beneath his snowy skin. Remus was at a brink of lunging at his boyfriend to take him in a fierce kiss. He was almost going to devour him the rest of his night. The ideas are surging into his mind, and so is his blood in his veins erratically. The wolf is going to wake up.
“Dwi hefyd yn siarad Cymraeg, Sirius darling..” Remus replies as he bows his head dramatically, “But! amo l'italiano…è sexy, che ne pensi? Huh, love?” It is fun to watch Sirius flustering beyond pink color. The sight suddenly hits Remus with Hogwarts nostalgia as he recalls the era of his and Sirius’ mutual pining over each other, and a memory plays in head.
“Sirius, do you want—you know—like if you want to, ever—not necessarily this time—but do you fancy going to Hogsmeade with me, like alone?” Remus asked, and tried to ignore the cold sweats under his arms and lower back.
“Huh? Really? I mean—I-I…like I mean…uh—“ Sirius kept chuckling like he was either short of breath or coughing because of the cold in the courtyard.
“Oh my god, are you blushing?” And he was, and then did a little too much more.
“Uh—Beetroot juice, that’s all.” And with that he scurried away with the sea of the fourth-year students.
Remus really gazes at Sirius with a solemn look. A feeling of warmth and innocence surrounds him because Sirius’ thick eye brows are knitted together and a look of plea swimming his silver eyes, while the cheeks were still flushed pink. He looks endearing than enticing.
“Ah, screw it.” With that, Remus crashes his mouth against Sirius’ which immediately response with a moan. The kiss is soft and passionate at the same time but as they both deepens it, Remus thinks he is able to set the whole world on fire. He tries not to lose himself completely but the scent of Sirius doesn’t elevate his restraining power. In fact, does things otherwise.
“Oh mio, I love you!” Remus gasps when Sirius’ mouth travel to his neck.
“Fuck! Say that in Italian, you git!” Sirius protests and pins his boyfriend by his wrists above his head. And Remus quirks an eyebrow on the boldness.
“Oh, te ne pentirai, amore mio,” In a swift motion, he twists in hands to clutch Sirius’ wrist, and pushes him on the couch. The view is very much appealing. The red skirt loosely tugging on Sirius’ waist, his half-dried hair coming into his eyes, parted lips, lustful eyes, thoroughly flabbergasted. Remus smiles deviously, “Don’t forget that I’m the one with real animalistic instincts, not you, lover boy.”
Of Course I Knew (Sirius Black x Reader) SMUT
Tumblr media
Request: hello! i was wondering if u could do a smut with young sirius black where the reader is like friends w him but she’s v inexperienced and like insecure abt it?? like she hasn’t had her first kiss and she thinks that’s unattractive but he’s like “nope that’s hot” thank you in advance!
Pairing: Young Sirius Black x FemReader
Warnings: Underage sex, unprotected sex (wrap it before you tap it), maybe language?
Word Count: 1926
A/N: Okay, so I’m trying to push myself with smut writing so any constructive criticism is welcome. Requests are still open and desired. I hope Sirius isn’t too OOC and I’m jumping on the Ben Barnes as young Sirius train! - S
___________________________________________________________
(Y/N) regretted her decision as soon as she sat down next to her friends. James shot her a goofy grin, “So Matthew, eh?”
She let out a long sigh. All she’d done was accept an offer to Hogsmeade with him, but somehow she had known that would be enough for the teasing. “What’s wrong with Matthew?” She didn’t even like the guy that much and she doubted she’d see him again outside of class, but he seemed more normal than not.
“Well you tell us, (Y/N), you clearly know him better than the rest of us!” Sirius snickered, “Or at least what he’s telling blokes...”
Her face turned bright red. Why that slimy git! The only thing they had done was hold hands.... of course she didn’t really want to tell them that either. 7th year and she hadn’t even kissed a boy. She looked up at Lily who was ready to defend her friend, but (Y/N) quickly stopped her, “Well that’s not of your business, is it? Go ask him if you’re looking for bloody details...”
Lily did not approve of (Y/N)’s lying, and she even told her so. (Y/N) agreed that lying probably wasn’t the best course of action, but she just didn’t want to deal with the teasing that would come from telling the truth. Sure, Remus and Peter would probably leave her alone, but they both knew James and Sirius would get a good laugh. (Y/N) just assumed that she’d let the Matthew rumor play out and soon everything would go back to normal.
That had been wishful thinking. It’d been nearly a week and Sirius still had not let it go. James didn’t even have to be around for him to enjoy the nagging. (Y/N) was about to explode; she grabbed Sirius by his robes and pulled him into one of the many empty rooms of Hogwarts, “Is this what you did with Mat-“
“Oh come off of it, Sirius! You know nothing happened between us! What do you want me to say?! I’m pathetic I haven’t snogged a guy much less slept with one! Happy?”
“Well not entirely... of course I knew nothing happened between you and Matthew, he’s an idiot. I was wondering how long it’d take you to come clean. I’ve been mostly curious as to why you’ve been so keen on us thinking something did happen?” Sirius questioned her, he’d leave the part about him being jealous out for now. It just seemed rather unimportant at the moment.
“You guys are brutal, you know? This much trouble over Matthew... I knew you’d make fun of me even more if you knew how... inexperienced I was.” (Y/N) sighed and looked towards her feet.
“You really think we’d make fun of you for being a virgin? We have moony for that!” Sirius cracked a joke hoping it’d lighten the mood a bit.
“No I think you’d make fun of me because I haven’t even been kissed. I’m sure not even Wormtail is that pathetic...” (Y/N) mimicked his idea of a joke, it seemed to work because he chuckled.
“That’s not pathetic... it’s hot.” Sirius waited until she was looking back up at him before he continued. “But if you’re so worried, I would be more than happy to help you out.”
(Y/N) thought about it... she always had a little crush on Sirius, but honestly she assumed most girls did (he was quite handsome). Would this ruin their friendship? It seemed doubtful, even if there was a new tension between them it would probably run its course and/or Sirius would go out of his way to make sure a comfortable air returned. He was a fiercely loyal friend. “Okay.”
He didn’t need to be told twice. As long as he had been waiting for this moment, he would’ve just slammed his lips into hers, but considering it was her first kiss, he opted for a more gentle approach. He grabbed her waist with one hand and pulled her to him, and laid one on her. His lips were firm but soft against hers, and acting purely on instinct and a little bit of what she had seen in books, magazines and movies when she wrapped her arms around him. Sirius smiled against his lips; he took the kiss a step further and gently flicked his tongue across hers and swept it in when she parted them in surprise.
(Y/N) was going with the flow... that was the best she could think of. She wasn't completely naive to what was going on. She was seventeen years old; she'd had thoughts and heard talk and being half-blood there was no shortage of information available to her when she was home for the summer... she’d learned a few things, of course reading/watching and actually doing were two different things. Sirius thought she must’ve been a liar or a natural, because it was one of the best kisses he’d had in awhile (perhaps who it was with helped too).
Breathless, the two parted and Sirius being Sirius had to speak first, “You sure you’ve never done this before?”
“Oh, shut up...” (Y/N) blushed. Sirius... always the jokester.
“As you wish.” Sirius leaned down and kissed her again. He was pleased to see she immediately reacted to him; briefly he was worried he might've been overstepping a boundary. She had agreed to a first kiss not a second one, but that worry melted away quickly.
(Y/N) slowly felt her nerousness disappate, and she moved naturally with him. Sirius carefully backed the girl into one of the dusty desks, and helped her up by grabbing her thighs and lifting. She instinctively wrapped her legs around him, and once she was safely on top she loosened her grip on him. Sirius instead pushed himself closer to her and grabbed her thighs again to keep her wrapped around him. (Y/N) had no problem obliging  his request, he clearly knew what he was doing and was happy to learn.
Her robes were pushed off of her shoulders and she shook her arms out of the sleeves. There were still entirely too many layers for his liking but he didn’t have to worry about it too much... (Y/N) immediately loosened her tie and broke away to peel off her sweater. Sirius too her absence to play catch up, discarding every article of clothing that she had, plus one (he never liked that stupid tie).
(Y/N) let out a soft moan when Sirius’ mouth found her neck. The noise egged him, his gentle nips because a little harsher; perhaps he was secretly hoping to leave a mark on her flesh. His fingers worked on the buttons on her shirt and being the gentleman he was he helped her out of it.
Sirius paused for look at her. Her skin was flushed and her lips swollen, and she was completely bare from the waist up except for the tie that hung between her breasts. “Blood hell, (Y/N)...”
She would’ve assumed she would have been embarrassed in the situation, but oddly enough, (Y/N) felt more excited than anything else. She could see that the front of his trousers fit a little tighter than they did when they first walked into the room and she knew Sirius well enough to know they look on his face was not a displeased one. Feeling the slightest bit confident, she leaned back on her elbows and let him take in the sight. She found herself disappointed when he didn’t kiss her again, instead he leaned in ghosting his lips across hers while he began working on removing his own shirt, “Has anyone seen you like this?”
“No,” (Y/N) whimpered, ready for him to touch her again.
“I’m the only who’s got to kiss you, the only one who’s gotten to see your body, to touch it. Do you have any idea how much that turns me on?” Sirius growled against her ear.
“No, but you could show me.” That was all it took to make Sirius snap. They’d definitely be missing Potions today, but screw it. Remus and Lily would probably share their notes after a good scolding.
His lips found hers again and in a flash they were gone. Abandoning hers for a new adventure. (Y/N) didn’t mind one bit in fact she was in favor of his endeavor. A shiver shot through her spine when his tongue flicked across her hardened nipple. And her nails dug into the wood of the desk when he took it in his mouth. Another low moan fell from her lips while he used his hands and his mouth to turn her mind foggy.
Sirius let his other hand slip under her skirt, he teased her through her damp underwear for a few moments, but then slipped his fingers past them and into her. Sirius pumped his fingers into her, hopefully getting her more familiar with the sensation and getting her to relax. His original plan was to go torturously slow until she begged for him, but he found his own self palming his erection for a little relief. When she moaned out his name, that was enough for him.
He worked fast to get the rest of their clothes off. (Y/N) felt like she was in a daze, intoxicated by everything he was doing to her, because the next thing she knew she felt Sirius rubbing his cock against her, getting himself well lubricated for the next step. “You sure this is what you want?”
Unable to form words she nodded and screwed her eyes shut when he began to slide into her. It wasn’t entirely bad at all; different, and an adjustment but absolutely tolerable. Sirius on the other hand was having to will himself to keep his cool, a low groan erupted from his throat as he fully sheathed himself inside the girl. Soon enough he’d be able to properly drive into her until she couldn’t stand to walk, but that’d be another time. This time, her first time he pulled out slowly, enjoying the way she made his dick glisten.
(Y/N) thought that perhaps sex was a bit over hyped in the cosmopolitan magazines her mother got, but slowly her body began to adjust. She began to enjoy the slow drag of him pulling out and then pushing back in and then when he quickened his pace it was nothing less than pleasurable. When Sirius felt her relax he began to adjust his thrusts, still not pounding her into oblivion, but fast enough they’d both be satisfied. Sirius reached between them teasing the bundle of nerves between her legs, he rubbed until (Y/N) let out a strangled cry and he felt her tighten around him.
His hips snapped a little quicker and his rhythm became a little more sporadic as he felt a familiar feeling getting closer. Sirius focused on the girl in front of him, she was still riding out her her high and utterly awe-striking, he couldn’t believe what he was doing. Watching her writhe beneath him brought him closer and it wasn’t long before he gave into the pleasure himself; thrusting a few more times before stilling himself inside of her.
“Wow... I see why people enjoy that so much.” (Y/N) let out an exhausted laugh.
“I’d like to put in a formal request that I be the only one you do this with.” Sirius chuckled along with her, but not because he was joking, “I’ve never been that great at sharing.”
“As long as you’re aware I feel the same, Black.”
Searching for Hidden Things (Ticci Toby X F!Reader)
Searching for Hidden Things
[Ticci Toby X F!Reader]
[Warnings: it's kinda sad? Language, blood but only slight.]
[AN: Another good one from Eris]
You are convinced that your home is haunted now more than ever. While you are not particularly ghost believer inclined, as a witch, your mind is open to these kinds of happenings but that’s not your field of study - you’re much more inclined to herbology and green witchery as opposed to medium and seership into other planes of existence. The natural, real world is what you are focused on. Not some spectre that happens to like little knickknacks that you don’t even claim ownership to.
How on earth did you end up here?
Simple. Fresh out of college and working from home, you decided to leave your stuffy city and come out to the countryside to get back into nature. It took forever to find a place that piqued your interest, but a small town smack dab in the middle of Alabama. You’re almost dead certain there’s barely five thousand people in the area. Though, you hardly stick around long enough to find out.
You only dip into town in the evenings and get the groceries that you can’t grow. Let’s just say you really enjoy living off the land and that practice helps you further your own craft. It’s anything a hedgewitch might dream of. The people that live here are pleasant, but they’re silent.
It was a normal evening visiting your favorite curiosity and occult shop run by a sweet girl and her partner who have come to expect you weekly on Saturdays. You usually stay for tea and a cupcake or whatever baked good Zinnia and Briar have set up for you, and it is from one of these little sit downs that you found out your home isn’t exactly normal.
“It’s so nice to see you again, love bug!” Briar smiles widely, their arms opening to greet you.
You smile back and walk into their arms and hug back just as tightly. “I could never miss tea time with my two favorite curio owners,” you chuckle.
Zinnia pops out from the back, her hands are covered by oven mitts. “I just made some brownies! Also have some angel food cake from last night. Come, come. Briar? Get the tea,” she says as she rushes to the back to set up the table in the sunroom.
Briar nods and puts their hand on your upper back, guiding you to the back. “My wife thought you would’ve liked the angel food cake. She’s been talking about it all night,” they explain, a giggle on their lips.
Zinnia is buzzing around like a bumble bee while her partner attempts to get her to sit down. She’s a good host, you’ll give her that. This is your fourth sit down with them and she’s like this every time.
“Reader isnt going to care about the plates-” Briar attempts to say before getting shushed by Zinnia.
“I like being aesthetically pleasing,” she says as Briar absentmindedly ties her curly black hair into a ponytail. “Unlike you,” she giggles.
You roll your eyes playfully at their sweet gestures. “Aesthetically pleasing or not, those brownies and the cake look delicious.”
“See? Reader gets it,” Briar lightly ribs before bringing the tea to the table, Zinnia following close behind them with platters and plates. “So,” Briar hums. “How is your place?”
You begin pouring yourself some tea and shrug. “I don’t think I ever mentioned it to you, have I?”
The couple shake their heads as they get comfortable in their seats. “Where have you put your boots down?” Zinnia inquires.
“There’s this little house in the woods,” you begin to explain before sipping at your tea. “Had a great garden and was already furnished, asked the realtor and she practically threw it into my arms.” You put down your tea cup and cut a brownie for yourself before raising a brow at the couple’s shocked and slightly confused expressions. “What’s wrong?”
Briar blinks a few times before shaking their head. “It’s nothing! Just, it’s the house in the woods?”
You nod in confirmation. “The house in the west woods, near the pond with water lilies?” You continue in an attempt to further their understanding, getting the feeling there’s something you don’t know but should. “Guys..?”
“S-Sorry,” Zinnia suddenly says. “It’s just that…” Her eyes shift around for a few moments before she leans in close, as if she was telling you a secret. “That house is haunted.”
Your eyes go wide before you laugh. You laugh and laugh and then when you realize they’re silent, you blink. “Wait what? Why do you say that?”
“Someone used to live there a few years ago, we moved in after her… disappearance,” Briar explains. “She just,” Briar makes a poof shape with their hands, “like nothing. No trace, no leads, the house was empty but everything of theirs? Still there.”
“Who was the person that lived there before?” You ask, intrigue kicking up before you bite into the brownies and then try the angel food cake. Zinnia was right, you do like it.
Briar shrugs, “we don’t know. Whispers say it was the girl named Natalie. She kept to herself but from the people I’ve talked to so far - at least, those who would talk about it - said she was sweet and spunky.”
“Guy at the grocery store, Mr. Wu? He said that Natalie was his regular. They were friends,” Zinnia adds on. “He used to visit her house every now and then and said near the end, her behavior got kind of squirrely. One night, he went to visit her and saw her running. Of course, guy is like seventy, got scared and ran back home. Called the police over it. They got there? Nothing.”
You nod as you listen to them give out their theories on what might have happened to Natalie. It’s one of the most interesting things you’ve heard of since you moved in.
When you returned home, you couldn’t help but shake the thought you were a guest in what used to be Natalie’s home. Your hands flew over the slightly dusty shelves and found it wrong to really touch anything that might not be yours. There’s books about boring things, encyclopedias, general knowledge, young adult fiction, but nothing that tells you who she was.
As you stand with your arms crossed in your living room, you search for the things that were left from her. Your room is entirely yours, you’ve already managed to find a room and clear it out for your witchy things, the kitchen was empty and there is no basement. This house is small, more like a cottage. If there were any signs of who she was, they’re not easy at making themselves known.
All you have to go off of from her is the living room and is undoubtedly Natalie’s and not yours. The shelves and other knick knacks are things that don’t match your aesthetic at all. Seems she was fond of the color green, just not plants like you are.
It’s by the living room that you’re able to learn some things about Natalie, even if they’re minute. For instance, you can tell that either she likes costumes or she’s missing an eye due to a small box of eyepatches varying in color and design. She’s got a frew petal pressed flowers - tulips - and last you checked, that meant a declaration of love according to the standard Victorian language of flowers.
You know absolutely nothing about Natalie other than her name and that she may be missing an eye and that she has tulips, but she permeates your mind like a virus that refuses to go away. You’re entranced with her, and want to know more of her.
When you work on sigils, you make one for her and put it in the corners of the front windows and in the doorframe. You wonder if she’s out there, and if she is, if she’s safe. If she is, you hope the runes and sigils you’ve made for her will keep her that way.
One evening at the grocery store, you have the privilege of being able to speak to Mr. Wu when ringing up some craving you’ll know you’ll inevitably have.
“Natalie?” He hums as he rings up your items. “She was a nice girl,” he continues. “Very kind, had a good sense of humor.”
You furrow your brows and smile sympathetically at him. “I’m sorry for-”
“It’s no matter,” Mr. Wu brushes off. “I don’t know what happened to her, and I’d like to think she’s still out there,” he begins checking the register for the total. “I’d like to think that when she was running, it was towards better and away from whatever it was she couldn’t get here..” His old, weathered hand reaches out to show you the total on the screen. You notice he’s put on a 50% discount. “On me,” he smiles.
Ever since then, Natalie has consumed your thoughts entirely.
So, how does this all tie into a little sparrow figurine going missing? You think it’s haunted. Genuinely. Have you angered Natalie’s spirit by messing with her house? You’re not so sure. You don’t communicate with spirits, though you’re considering picking up a pendulum and attempting.
Ever since you’ve heard about Natalie, things in your house have been getting moved or straight up lifted. It doesn’t help that you hear, no, you think you hear, things outside lurking around your home. Spiritually, you’ve protected the place more than you think is necessary. The not deer, skinny legends and Wendy boys really shouldn’t be knocking around her mostly because the place is just one giant protective bubble. Still, as you sit up late in the night and look at the moon as it reflects the water from the pond and the peer through the darkness of the trees that hang much too low, you know something is out there that shouldn’t be.
This has all come to a head when you wake up one morning to see that the sparrow figurine is gone. It makes you startle and almost drop your mug in response.
“How the hell..?” You say as you stare at the empty space. Its little circular base has left the real shade of the wood it sits on open. The dust has accumulated around it. You saw it here just yesterday! Little brown and tan sparrow and now it’s gone.
On instinct, you open your front door. It was still locked, and it doesn’t seem that anyone came in. But you know that you didn’t move it either. You haven’t touched any of Natalie’s things, you wouldn’t because you’re worried you’re going to upset her spirit or something. Who took it?
Unfortunately, that’s not even the first time it’s happened. A few days later, the little robin is gone too. Now you are absolutely convinced your home is haunted.
Of course, you call up one of your friends who also practices witchcraft like you do to see what you can do about making amends with a spirit. He’s a death witch - he should know.
“Wait what?” He says, his voice conveying nothing but confusion.
“You heard me,” you sigh as you plop down on the couch. “I think she’s been like, taking things because she doesn’t trust me with them?” You say in a slightly confused tone.
“But you really haven’t moved anything in the living room, right? From the pictures you sent me, you left that space as hers. She shouldn’t be upset considering you never touched her stuff.”
“But these figurines are still missing. How did they just get up and go?” You ask in a slightly exasperated tone, staring at the empty space.
“Y’know what you should try?” He begins, a small audible smile on his face. “Find something personal of hers and return it to her. Maybe she’s looking for something and is just settling.”
“Do you have a protocol for that or..?” You trail off.
“I’ll send you a page from my grimoire, sounds good?”
Here you are, late at night, not able to sleep and looking for something personal of hers. You don’t think it’s anything out in the open that she wants because why would she want that? It’s in her line of sight. You’ve practically turned up your home looking for it - her home? You’re not sure what kind of terminology you should use in regards to this house, but you know you’re hellbent on finding something, anything of importance to her home.
“Come on, Natalie,” you mumble to yourself as you head to your bedroom and begin overturning things. “I just need something of yours, help me make it make sense,” you say. “Natlie, Natalie, Nat, Nat-” and immediately after that nickname tumbles from your lips, you get the overwhelming urge to check under your bed.
Like a mad woman, you dive down to the floor and begin pulling your storage boxes out from under it. One of them snags slightly, and when you tug on it, you pull. Odd. You tug even harder. That’s when part of the carpet comes up. You raise your brow and shove the box out of the way before crawling under yourself and use the flashlight on your phone. It’s dark, a little dusty under here, but you clearly know someone has been under here before.
Your fingertips creep around the edge of the odd piece of carpet before you pull it up, seeing that it’s already been cut up. And there, you feel a handle.
“Oh my gods,” you mumble creeping further under the bed before yanking at the small handle. It doesn’t give right away. In fact, it makes you bump your head from the sheer force of trying to open it. It’s almost as if it was a secret and you’re violating the parties who knew it existed. Still, you continue to tug on it before it finally pops open. You move your phone over to see that there’s a box with the lid loosely placed on. Your hand gently reaches in and scoops the box up. You hold it like it’s glass. “Thank you, Natalie, thank you,” you mumble as you roughly and awkwardly crawl out from back under the bed.
You sit on your bedroom floor now, your phone now forgotten as your fingertips gently trace the box. You mentally ask for Natalie’s permission to open it and when you get the feeling of something warm, like a hug, you do so. Inside the box that you gingerly open, you see that there are letters, letters upon letters in a writing addressed to her.
“Can I read these, Natalie?” You ask softly, your eyes scanning over the one you hold in your hand dates from a few years ago. You feel that warm hug again, and the night alights with songs from the birds on the pond. You know you have her permission.
‘March 16, 20XX. Dear Natalie, how are you? I just wanted to apologize for the other day. I shouldnt have left that soon, but you know hoy my dad is. Anyways, just wanted to check in. Hope to see you soon.’
‘March 22, 20XX. Dear Natalie, I wasn’t actually expecting you to get back to me after what happened! I - thank you. Things have been just fine with me, but I miss being in Alabama. No reason, just miss the woods by your place.’
‘May 5th, 20XX. It’s funny you mentioned that, I saw something last night that reminded me of you too. Y’know how you’re always going on about time and being punctual? The other day, me and my comrades were walking through an antique store. Whole bunch of clocks. Made me think of you:).’
You keep reading the letters and piecing together the story of these two as it picks up through the years as general friendship to something more. This person that Natalie was writing to told them a lot of things - everything from the general happenings of the day to more quieter, intimate things (that you tend to skip over out of respect for Natalie.)
Reading the letters to Natalie becomes a daily occurrence for you. There’s so many that you decide it wouldn’t be right to read them all in one day. So, you read two a night and piece together their story, learning of their love and finding out just who they were. Natalie left some letters that she never sent to her love, mostly the ones that she must have considered duds or the angry ones that she decided not to send when her fire had died down. What? All couples go through those patches. It’s whether you can fix it and get back on the road or hitchhike with another driver that determines the outcome. And them? They loved each other so much, looking at another driver to get to their destination was never an option.
It takes months for you to get through the letters. Even reading two a day, it’s hard to get through a few years worth of content. They wrote to each other often. You’re able to see the full spectrum of emotions from them two, even if you’re on;y reading the letters addressed TO Natalie and not from her (for the most part). You read them smiling, and can hear their tears alongside their laughter. They no longer feel like names on paper, but real, once breathing people.
Eventually, you reach a letter that finally completes the story as you know it. It’s dated from right around the time you know Zinnia and Briar moved in. It explains a lot.
You know that whoever Natalie’s love was working for was NOT a good man. He struck the fear of the gods into them. He was called ‘The Operator’ and apparently had eyes everywhere despite being faceless. The way Natalie’s love writes about him has you feeling chills down your spine. Them too, because it was enough for them to want to run away. Natalie’s love was called a proxy, and from what you can understand, that means he’s a person who does work for someone else because they don’t want to get directly involved. The Operator treats those who work under him like cattle, and nothing more. He was a scary, scary man, and the society he runs is one you know is not intertwined with yours.
The letter that’s in your hands is the last one before their escape it seems.
‘August 31st, 2018. Dear Nat, are you nervous? I’m nervous - you can probably tell by my writing. Tonight we leave everything behind. We run. I hope you know that it’s never too late for you to back out. Because after this, we can never go back to what we used to. I’m so sorry that being around that tall fuck-but did this to you - and shit, by extension, me. I’m so sorry for hurting you, but this is it. This is it. This is the final stop.
Who knew that me striking up a conversation with a cute girl behind the counter of some hippy’s coffee shop would lead to a love like ours? You mean the world to me, Nat. I’m more and more thankful every day that I think about you and receiving your letters has me up to the moon. If you asked me about this kind of thing before I met you, I would have told you that I would never have gotten rid of the proxy lifestyle for a human. Humans are… Well, according to the Operator, they’re dangerous. They’re not worth us.
But you? Oh gods, you? You changed everything. You made it worthwhile. You came into my life like a splash of color in a world so grey and cold and bathed me in warmth until I could reciprocate your love and make room for it to grow. I love you, Natalie. I love you so, so much. After tonight, we won’t ever have to worry about this - the space and the distance between us. No more hiding. No more secrets. Just us and our transparency.
I love you, Natalie. I love you so, so much. I’ll see you tonight, backdoor as per what is our usual. To the moon and back! Love, Toby.’
You don’t know why, but Toby’s letter makes you tear up. It’s like you can feel exactly how Natalie must’ve felt when she received it. The tears that prick your eyes roll down your cheeks and you can’t help but take a few moments. You’d always known their story ended with something sad due to the whispers in the town, but getting confirmation that Natalie ran… It didn’t work. It just didn’t work.
You’re wiping away your tears when you hear your backdoor get thrown open. No one comes out to your neck of the woods, and it makes you panic. You can’t find your phone - dang it! Must’ve left it in the kitchen. You scramble around your room as you hear whoever just broke into your house walk confidently without a care in the world to the living room.
“W-Who the f-fuck lives here n-now?” You hear a male voice mutter as they pass your bedroom door. “A-All this w-w-witchy shit,” they continue.
You mentally huff. Rude. You then quietly slink around before grabbing a large chunk of amethyst. It’s rough to the touch and weighty, and unfortunately, one of the only things you have as a weapon now. Your heart is pounding as you quietly move through your hallway to the living room.
“Where i-is it?” He continues mumbling to himself as he tears your living room apart.
You’re able to see him by the faint light of the moon. He’s got brown hair and twitches slightly. Is he nervous? He’s still tearing up your living room though and touching Natalie’s things, and that's unforgivable in your head. So, you raise your chunk of amethyst pillar and quietly creep behind him.
He turns around to look at you, genuinely surprised someone is here when you whack him as hard as you can with the chunk of amethyst. “Are y-you fucking s-serious?!” He yells as he pushes you back.
You look at him with confusion as you back up, still clutching the amethyst before you notice that he didn’t react in the way he should. You hit him really, really hard and in the back of the head. He’s back up and glaring at you like you mildly inconvenienced him. And now? Now he’s pissed and looking at you like he’s going to kill you. You notice that he has hatchets on the sides of his waist.
“C-Come here,” he taunts, eyes narrowed and slowly closing the distance between you.
“Stop,” you shout in an attempt to command him back. “I will hit you-”
“With t-that?” He sneers.
“I swear to the gods I will-”
He looks like he’s ready to pounce when he suddenly stops, a certain sadness and pause rushing over his body and his face as he looks at the letters in your hand. You’d honestly forgotten you were still holding them.
“Where d-did you g-g-g-get those?” He asks quietly, his shoulder dropping.
“What?” You ask, surprised he can do an impression of a human being.
“Those l-letters! They’re n-not yours!” You pull back hard when he tries to grab them from you and swing the amethyst at him and sneer when he ducks. “They’re not yours either!”
“T-The hell t-they aren’t! I-I wrote t-t-them!” He shouts back.
You immediately deflate. “You’re Toby?”
He freezes and flails his arms slightly as if to ask nonverbally, ‘you read those?’
You sigh deeply and rest your hand on your forehead before you rest your arms down slowly, showing that you’re not going to fight him. It’s a pleasant surprise that he slowly copies your movements. “Do you know how a keurig works?”
He nods slowly.
“Make us some coffee. We got a lot to talk about.”
“So, t-t-that’s why you’re here,” Toby hums as he dumps another unholy amount of sugar into his coffee cup. “I-I thought y-you were some s-squatter in Nat’s h-house,” he admits with a small chuckle before scratching awkwardly at the back of his neck.
You take in a small breath and nod, a small smile pulling your lips upwards. “This is what you were looking for, huh?” You say as you push the box full of memories towards him.
He puts the cup down and takes it into his hands carefully before hugging it to his chest. He then takes in a deep breath, relaxing. “Y-Yes, this is t-them,” he says quietly. “That’s a-a-all I really w-wanted.”
“And the little figurines?” You hum, a knowing smirk on your face.
Toby flushes slightly and nods once more. “T-They just r-r-reminded me o-of her.” He then places the box in front of him and leans back, his eyes blinking upwards towards the ceiling before he stares up at the ceiling. “I lost h-her that n-night,” he says, voice so soft and scared as if he’s reliving it.
“Toby…”
“That w-w-was our thing, y-y’know? W-We were gonna b-b-be free. My b-b-boss found out,” Toby hisses as he picks one of the letters up and gestures with it, “a-and he s-sent my own c-comrades to…” He closes his eyes to stop the tears from welling within them.
-
Natalie was grabbing her backpack from her room with everything important when Toby came to the doorway and smiled at her. “What’re you doing here?” She chuckled, her green eye flashing with amusement. “Thought you were gonna be getting stuff ready in the kitchen and watching the door.”
“Just d-don’t like being a-a-away from you,” Toby said, a small smirk on his face as he came up to Natalie and brushed a long strand of brown hair from her face. “You’re s-s-such a p-pretty girl,” he complimented.
Natalie blushed slightly and took his hand that rested on her cheek into hers. “Go. I’ll be fine in here.”
“W-Whatever you s-say, p-princess,” he teased before pressing a kiss to her forehead and hesitantly leaving her side.
Natalie rolled her eyes with that smile never leaving her face as she continued getting the last of her things ready for the leave. When she was absolutely certain she was ready to go, she slid the backpack on and headed to the living room. She was ready to go and start a new life with Toby, the only man who ever made her heart skip a beat.
“Are you ready?” She asked, her arms wrapping around Toby’s waist as he finished his cup of coffee.
“S-Sure am,” he replied before turning around and wrapping her in his arms. “You g-gonna miss t-t-this place?”
“Absolutely not,” Natalie laughed. “I can’t wait to get out-”
What happened next was pure chaos. The back and front door were both breached by men in masks, and Natalie quickly deduced that they were Toby’s comrades. His boss found out. Toby reached for the front table and palmed his hatchets and swung them at the man in the white mask.
“Run!” Toby shouted, pushing Natalie towards the open front door. He watched his heart run out and shake off the backpack to gain speed as she took off into the night. Masky hit him, but he did not flinch.
“Fucking hell, Toby!” A gruff voice shouted.
The young proxy then watched in horror as a flash of yellow zipped out into the night to chase after Natalie. Toby felt worry cloud hsi every movement as he dodged and hit Masky. Hoodie’s specialty was tracking and hunting. He had to get out there to help Natalie.
Toby took a step back then ran into Masky as hard as he could, slamming his leader into the floor before attempting to brutalize, but not kill him. When he was sure that Masky was going to need a moment, he shot up and sprinted out of the house and into the darkened forest to find Natalie. He must’ve prayed the entire time he ran.
He ran over the heavy forest growth and cursed the roots that almost tripped him before he felt his world go quiet.
Natalie was screaming.
Toby heard his name cried out in the trees and his heart sunk down to the forest floor as he ran wildly to the source. He felt hot tears as they rolled down his cheeks as he finally found that same damned hue of yellow waiting for him.
“Was wondering when you’d show up,” Hoodie mused as he dug his boot onto Natalie’s skull, making her cry out in pain and fear. Her arms reached out for Toby, his name permanently on her lips.
“You f-fucking bastard!” Toby roared as he lurched forward, attempting to beat Hoodie within an inch of his life when something hard smacked into the back of his head. Toby turned around to see Masky. His brown eyes were full of murder as he stalked towards Toby.
“I should kill you for this,” Masky sneered as he got within arm’s distance of Toby.
Toby glared and swung his hatchet again at Masky, now out for blood when Hoodie slammed his boot back into Natalie’s skull, a crack sending Toby into a fury.
“You won’t touch him if you know what’s good for you,” Hoodie said, his hands loosely hung in his pockets. “Leave him alone and focus on your girl.”
Toby felt chills down his spine as he turned his full attention to Natalie. “My g-g-girl,” he whispered as he fell to his knees to hold her. “M-My s-sweet, sweet g-girl.” His hands shoved Hoodie off of her skull, giving her room to breathe. After that, he turned her over on her back as she cried out in pain. He rested her head on his lap and let her sob.
“Toby,” she croaked in a voice like sandpaper. “Toby, it hurts,” she cried, hands reaching out to his face.
“I know,” he said as he gripped her hand. “I k-know, baby, I k-know.” Tears were pouring from his eyes just to see someone he loved in such pain. “It’ll b-be over soon, I p-promise.” His other hand that wasn’t being gripped by Natalie’s went to pet her hair and give her some comfort.
“Over real soon,” Masky huffed. “You better finish this.” Masky continued. “Or I’ll make Hoodie put a bullet in her skull.”
Toby sent another glare up to Masky and protectively held onto Natalie just a bit harder to not cause her physical body anymore pain.
“We need to run,” Natalie whispered as she reached up to hold Toby’s face. “We can still go-”
Toby hushed her as his eyes scanned over her body. She was beyond repair. Hoodie had broken her legs and bent them at angles that should not exist. “You n-need to r-rest, okay? W-We’ll go in t-t-the morning, I p-promise.”
“You do?” She asked, her beautiful green eye beginning to see the world more in shapes than in
“Y-Yes,” Toby promises. “Have I e-e-ever broken a p-promise to y-you?” He hummed before leaning down as best he could to kiss her forehead. “I l-love you, s-so, so m-much.”
Natalie sleepily giggled and allowed her tears to cascade down her face. “I love you too. To the moon and back?”
“T-To the moon a-a-and back,” he said as the grip she held on his hand weakened.
“Toby, my Toby,” she said softly, her voice growing softer as she repeated the words like a mantra. When her breathing slowed until it was nothing, her hand went limp in Toby’s.
Toby closed his eyes as his heart fell into millions of pieces. He refused to let Natalie go that night, and his teammates, who had acted on behalf of a father who did not love them, let him.
-
“A p-part of m-me died with h-her that night,” Toby says as he lovingly looks over the letters. “I still c-can’t breathe r-right without her.” He closes his eyes and allows his tears to fall. “I d-don’t think I e-e-ever will.”
You get up from your seat and pick it up, silently moving it to rest next to Toby as he begins to cry. You know he must’ve held this one in for so, so long. After planting your chair down next to him, you take him into your arms and allow him to cry.
Toby holds onto you and doesn’t let go. It’s like he views you as a comfort blanket or a teddy bear. And you let him. You let him get it all out.
You feel tears well in your eyes and let them fall too.
Werewolves Of London ( I )
Multiple Part Series
Part I
When Their Eyes Locked
Word Count: 2016
Fred Weasley x Fem!Werewolf!Reader
Summary: Fred can’t seem to stop himself from staring at you. What happens when your eyes lock?
Warnings: raunchy banter, description of turning into a werewolf (description of pain and screaming), being in pain, Y/n has a very prominent scar on her face idk if this is a warning (personally i don’t think it is but you can never be too careful😌)
A/N: Alrighttttt chapter one guys, pretty exciting😗. It’s kinda slow, really just introducing characters, background, and existing relationships. AH I HOPE YOU GUYS LIKE ITTTT, also best friend Lily makes a comeback (not Lily Evans)
“Come on! We’re gonna miss it!”
“We’re not gonna miss shit, either it happens here or it happens there.”
“I’d prefer the latter.”
Cedric let out a snort as he looked back at you, his scarf flapping in the wind and nearly hitting him in the face.
The wind was harsh this Saturday evening, overcast and gloomy, as three students were making their way to the Whomping Willow. The trek was meant to be a quiet one, a sneaky departure from the castle, but of course that was never the case. Not when Cedric Diggory seemed to ooze happiness and joy with each step, his smile warming the crisp, cool air around him; not when Lily Mclaggen (older sister of Cormac) had just as much snap as her brother had confidence and especially not when Y/n L/n, a sarcastic lycanthrope, was about seven minutes away from being in the midst of the full moon.
A sickeningly loud cracking started to sound from behind Cedric, making him turn to see you doubled over.
“Lily!”
“Calm down!”
You groaned, “I’m fine, let’s just go.”
Lily hooked her arm around your waist, shoving you toward the Whomping Willow that Cedric had fortunately petrified. You were able to just catch the familiar badger disappear into the hole under the tree. The pain was excruciating, making your knees give way and your body hit the ground as you felt what seemed to be your bones breaking, muscles tearing, skin stretching to accommodate the form of a beastly form. Groans and screams were pulled from your throat as you transformed, your hands scratching at your neck- or any exposed skin really- to somehow try and claw the pain away.
One last blood curdling scream turned into a strangled howl at the bright moon.
The werewolf stood up, shaking off the dirt from the ground, before snapping at whatever was nipping at its tail. A bone-chilling laugh sounded in the dim tunnel before the hyena gestured toward the badger to start making their way to the shrieking shack through the dark tunnel- the werewolf followed, it didn’t like being alone for long.
--
“Let’s go Fred, before Filch catches up.” George huffed out, his chest heaving from the vigorous running his lungs had to endure just moments prior.
His twin stood still, faint breaths passing from his lips the only thing being heard, his honey brown eyes taking in the vastness of the dark navy sky before him.
Fred had always loved the moon.
If he thought about it hard enough, George could still feel the harsh swats to his rear from when their mother found them out in the field behind the Burrow after Fred had insisted on sneaking out to look at the moon.
George groaned, “It’s just the moon, it’ll be there tomorrow, the day after that and I’m willing to bet my left ear that the moon will be there everyday after that.”
“Yeah but,” Fred grumbled, dramatically gesturing toward the sky with his hand. “It’s a full moon tonight, won’t be full tomorrow now will it?”
The attitude was clear in his tone, even more so in his raised eyebrows and pointed look. George conceded with a laugh, muttering out an ‘alright, Freddie’.
A piercing howl ripped through the silence making the brothers jump and look toward where it had come from- somewhere down near Hogsmeade they’d guess.
Fred slowly turned to his brother, speaking just barely above a whisper, “You think it was a werewolf?”
He had the same glint of mischief in his eyes that he’d get when he was younger and itching to tell a scary story.
George only shook his head, “In Hogsmeade?” He questioned. “Surely, you’re daft Freddie, what would a werewolf be doing in Hogsmeade?”
A shrug was his only response, before he added, “Wouldn’t be too surprising now would it? We’ve got a pink toad in Hogwarts.”
---
Your steps were slow and calculated as you made your way to the Great Hall. Cedric had his arm around your shoulder, no doubt trying to subtly check and see if the bandages he wrapped had held up when you changed into fresh clothes, and Lily had a habit of walking one or two steps behind you just after a full moon- you had a habit of stumbling or even losing balance completely during the few days following.
“You’re looking a lot better than last time, walking around and not stuck in the hospital wing.” Lily commented quietly.
Cedric nodded in agreement, “Yeah, it’s rather boring without your company.”
The comment was meant to rile up Lily, which it did beautifully.
“Right git you are, Diggory, you’re the boring one. You prefects, I swear-”
Lily continued on to grumble about all prefects being the same as you three made it through the doors and to your usual seats- the farthest table to the right, near the large window, and in between a few Hufflepuffs and a couple scattered Gryffindors.
Heat seemed to trail up your shoulder and to your face, the feeling of eyes on you had you inwardly wincing. You never felt too confident the morning after a full moon and it was most mornings that you could feel the heated weight of Fred Weasley’s eyes on you. Amazingly enough, you resisted the urge to turn and meet his gaze instead opting for taking a seat on the bench in between Cedric and Lily and placing your head on Lily’s shoulder lethargically.
On the other side of the room, Lee was slowly chewing on his bite of sugary cereal as he studied the eldest twin.
“You know, mate, you could just talk to her.” He offered up, making Fred rapidly blink as he was brought back to reality.
He frowned, “We’ve been in the same house for seven years, if she wanted to talk to me… she would’ve.”
His eyes seemed to naturally shift back to your form. You were half asleep, head resting on your friend’s shoulder as prettyboy Diggory couldn’t seem to wipe the bright smile off his face so early in the morning.
Fred had always noticed you. In your first year you had offered him your seat in potions next to George because it ‘didn’t feel right’ splitting him and George up on the first day of school- or so you had said before you went to sit next to another first year, Lily.
Second year was when he started to really pay attention to the rather heartwarming- or so Angelina had called it- closeness of your relationship with Lily. You were a sickly child, it seemed almost every month you had come down with something. Fred could remember seeing little twelve year old you sitting near the fireplace in the Gryffindor common room, head on Lily’s shoulder just as it was now and your face incredibly pale yet a warm smile still gracing your lips.
It was the third year when Fred started to realize his curious looks and sweaty palms were not something that just happened. He liked you. The quiet remarks you made under your breath and comedically uncontrollable reactions had him swooning. Third year was also the year that the infamous duo of Y/n and Lily had turned into a trio, prettyboy Diggory finding a cozy spot attached to your hip. It seemed everywhere you went, Cedric was there too.
It was during third year Fred learned about jealousy.
“How do you suppose she got her scar?” Lee asked in a hushed voice not wanting to be overheard.
Fred thought back to when he had first seen you with the gash trailing down from the arch of your left eyebrow to the apple of your right cheek, passing over the bridge of your nose. Sure he had seen you roughed up before, mundane bruises and scratches he imagines you received from being clumsy or maybe roughhousing with siblings he didn’t know you had (Merlin knows Fred himself had enough marks from his brothers roughing him up, all in good fun of course). This was different- violent, it seemed- nothing friendly could’ve made such an angry infliction.
“Does it matter?” Fred mumbled rather defensively. “She’s still...angelic.” He muttered with little regard as to what he was actually saying- his attention was stolen by the grimace that darkened your face as you shifted in your seat to reach for a box of chocolatey cereal.
George faked a dramatic gag, “Sods been a right sap for that girl for years now, still hasn't done a single thing.”
“Give him time,” Lee laughed, moving to shove Fred’s arm teasingly. “Fred’ll man up eventually.”
The seemingly lovestruck boy rolled his eyes at the two, “Fuck off, both of you wankers.”
--
The full moon and weekend had come and gone, the bitter taste of the start of a new school week was on everyone’s tongue as they made their way to their last class Monday afternoon.
You trudged into the dimly lit potions room, the brooding figure of Severus Snape doing nothing to lighten the atmosphere.
“Afternoon, Professor.” You quietly greeted as you slid into your seat.
The man seemed to only grumble out a response, not deeming a proper return of greeting worthy of his time- though you preferred this, rather not wanting to strike up a conversation with the potions Professor.
Lily clambered into the seat beside you, her usual seat, just a few seconds before class started. Her hair was frazzled and her tie a tad askew, silently you handed her a compact mirror from your book bag- though the smirk on your lips was loud.
“Don’t look so smug.” She teased, hand combing down her hair. “You’ve seen the thighs on Natasha Ravenforth, was I just supposed to deny myself the pleasure?”
Her tone was filled with incredulity, eyes wide and questioning almost as if she really couldn’t fathom the thought of not snogging the curvy Hufflepuff just before class. You kept silent, though your smile grew as you felt Lily’s eyes trained on you before she huffed and looked toward Professor Snape who was now beginning his lesson.
The class seemed to drone on, a long lecture from the monotone Severus Snape the only thing filling the agenda had the pace of the lesson slowed to an aching crawl. As your ears started to tune out his painful drawl you noticed it. Like an itch you couldn’t scratch or a twitch you just couldn’t shake, you could feel someone’s eyes on you. You turned to meet the person’s gaze, curiosity indeed killed the cat, and you were met with the honey-brown irises of none other than Fred Weasley. He seemed to be looking at you, or just passed you, with his chin resting on his folded forearms. His lack of reaction to you catching him staring led you to believe he was far too zoned out to know what he was doing, that is until he blinked a few times and his eyes snapped up to meet yours.
You didn’t really know him. Fred Weasley seemed to be everywhere and nowhere all at once, he was elusive and loud and if you weren’t careful you’d definitely find yourself falling for his toothy grin or boyish charm.
Your eyes seem to lock and you couldn’t help but furrow your eyebrows at the feeling fluttering deep within your chest at the way his facial expression seemed to soften and his head tilt ever so gently as his eyes swam with what you could only describe as- for lack of better words- wonder.
A nudge to your ribs brought you back to reality, Lily’s elbow still prodding at your torso until you turned to face the front of the class again just as Professor Snape was turning away from the board he had stuck his nose to whilst writing notes.
With one glance at Lily you could see the irritatingly smug smirk stretching across her face, her eyes still looking forward.
“Don’t look so smug.” You grumbled, roughly picking up your quill to take down notes.
For @pufferssss, happy late birthday!! ❤️
Waiting for sunrise
Words: 2968
The first and last time Levi visits Petra`s grave.
Levi arranged his cravat again, self-conscious at the thought of visiting her for the first time. He stood frozen in place, with a bouquet of orange lilies in his hand. Her favorite flowers. Just a mere coincidence, not an effort on his part, of course. He never imagined he would visit her here so early on. Staring at the newly carved headstone, he tried to set aside the nagging thought that the earth underneath it only held an empty coffin.
What should he say to her?
“Your dad came to see me after the mission, and I had to tell him that I don`t even have a body to bring back home to him”?
“I failed in getting justice for you and the guys”?
“I miss your tea”?
The only words he could spurt out were “Hi, Ral.”
He groaned at his awkwardness and settled on presenting her with the flowers he chose for her. He could feel his hands getting sweaty from anxiousness, much to his confusion. He had nothing to be nervous about. It was just Petra in front of him. His subordinate. Petra, who fought by his side for years. Who swore to devote her life to him. Just his Petra.
Levi sat on the ground next to the gravestone, unconcerned about the dirt he would have to clean out of his clothes at the end of the day. “I hope you can hear me, wherever you are. I like to think you`re listening.” He never spent much time concerning himself with death and the life that supposedly followed it, but ever since losing them as well, he found himself wishing they were happy. He knew that those brats would be wasting the rest they earned to look over him, no matter how much he objected.
“I hope you like the spot I chose for you. It`s sunny, but you also get some shade from the tree. I thought you`d like listening to birds singing." On their free days, he could always spot Petra with a book on her lap, under the shade of the oak tree in their yard. He never dared to bother her, worried he would disturb the angelic aura of the image, content with being fortunate enough to catch a glimpse of it. He never dared get so close to the sun.
"I`m going to bring some flowers we can plant next time I visit. I know you had a green thumb.” Levi omitted in letting her know it only took a month for the plant in his office that she cared for years to wither away in his care. Or maybe it just knew Petra would never be back.
Levi closed his eyes, lulled to sleep by the quietness around him and the feeling of the afternoon sky on his skin, considering if someone would bother him if he moved to the tree trunk to nap. He craved some peace.
“I`m sorry I didn`t get to come earlier. You missed a real shit show in Sina.” He took a glance at his wounded leg and sighed. “It`s not as bad as it looks, no need to mother me.”
Without raising his eyes from the ground in front of him, Levi admitted to her in a hoarse voice- “I kept calling out orders for you, and Erwin had to remind me that you`re not here anymore. Like I could ever fucking forget.”
Despite the emptiness in his chest, he went on- “Eren misses you. I really wish you could help me manage that brat. You always knew what to say to him. Hange misses you. I… everyone misses you.” They left a hole behind that he doubted he would ever patch.
Levi cleaned off some dust from her headstone before promising her he would be back as soon as he could.
As promised, the second time Levi visited her, he got her some daisies to plant next to her resting place. After wiping his hands clean on a rag, Levi sat down against the tree trunk to admire his work. He was sure Petra would be proud of the progress he made regarding gardening. He had even gotten a new plant to replace the one on his desk.
“Tch, not talkative today, are we? That`s alright, you know I always talk a lot.”
Visiting her calmed his restless spirit. His anxiety over the plan, his worry over Erwin`s wellbeing, his longing to have his old squad by his side again, they were all pilling up for the last few days. Levi found himself losing even more sleep lately. But he would never tell her that since it would most likely end in another one of her scoldings.
“You`re missing it, the final push. The brat`s finally going to do it, he`s going to seal the Wall.” Levi hoped that they would be able to carry out the mission. That his squad`s sacrifice to keep Eren alive would not have been in vain.
“You`re not being fair, are you? You already know what we will find in the basement, and yet you keep it all to yourself. Tch, be like that.” Would it all be worth it? The pain, the countless sacrifices, and the lives lost along the way? He wished Petra could answer that for him.
He never wanted to upset her, but Petra always encouraged him to let others help him carry the burden. Levi took a deep breath before speaking again- “I think Eren misses you. He`s been going on about how he wants to visit you again. Bring you flowers. To help me maintain this place clean." Levi rolled his eyes again and the memory. "Like I would ever need his help with that.”
Levi took the ribbon out of his pocket and started fiddling with it, ignoring the slight pang of guilt at how he came into its possession.
“I hope you won`t mind I took that.” The first night he spent without them, Levi found himself roaming the empty corridors of the castle. When his steps took him in front of Petra`s door, the urge to hold on to something physical to remember her overtook his sense of shame. He was aware that her belongings would go back to her parents in the next few days, but he hoped the red ribbon Petra used to tie her hair with would not be missed.
“I took your patch at first. I was going to keep it in my breast pocket. To have a reminder of your sacrifice. But when I saw that kid eaten up by guilt, I knew what I had to do. I knew what you would have wanted me to do with it.” He had no regrets about that. It was the perfect way to honor the kindest soldier the Survey Corps ever had.
When the light began to fade, Levi got up from his spot and left without saying another word to Petra. He did not want to say goodbye to her. Levi felt no need for it since death could be in his cards the next day. And he could get to see her again sooner than he thought.
The third time Levi visited her, it was not with a flower bouquet in his hand but with a bottle of cheap alcohol he found on Moblit`s desk. That night, Levi allowed grief to consume him.
"Erwin died. But I have a feeling you know that already, don`t you?" Levi wiped his nose with the back on his hand, too absorbed in his anger to even care about the disgusting habit.
"Are you mad at him? Are you mad that he chose to sacrifice your life?"
But only silence greeted him.
"Are you mad that I didn`t even question it?"
No answer again. The rage burning inside him overtook him, and Levi smashed the bottle against the headstone.
"Shit. I`m sorry, I shouldn`t have done that." Levi crouched down and collected the pieces of the bottle into his handkerchief. The grief, the anger, and now the shame for denigrating her place of rest were eating him alive.
"We found out the truth, you know? It`s a shitty world out there, Ral. But I have a feeling not even that would have cut off your wings."
Levi found himself craving touch. Her touch. And for the first time in his life, he felt the need to be comforted. He smiled to himself bitterly. How cruel must the deity who created him be for making him desire the impossible?
The fourth time Levi visited her, he brought a special gift for her. A small, odd thing that Armin called seashell.
“We saw the sea today. Just a big old pile of saltwater. But you would have loved it.”
Seeing the brats play in the water with carefree smiles on their face made him yearn for a glimpse of amber hair in the picture. He missed them all dearly.
“I would have to pull you out of it by the collar of your shirt, I bet.” For as devoted and strict as she was, Petra always seemed to cause him distress. Not that he minded it, of course. Levi found himself wishing to hear her timid knocks on his door again, even in the middle of the night. He longed for those times, where she shyly approached him after needing his help in whatever problem she found herself stuck in again.
While that was not his intention when he first came to her, his heart was heavy with words he never said to her. "The world hates us, Ral." He could never imagine how someone would ever detest someone as kind as Petra just for the blood running in her veins. But if he had to be true to himself, a part of him hated Petra as well.
"Maybe I hate you too."
Petra broke his promises to him, after all. Two years ago, when death was imminent on an expedition, and Petra put down her swords in acceptance, Levi fought with her. He made her promise she would make it to the end. That she would be by his side the day they kill the last titan.
"Do you remember your promises to me? Such bullshit. Never thought you were a liar, Petra."
But Levi knew she would have never left him had she had a choice. That she would have fought for even just a second more by his side. But it never dulled the pain of losing her.
With a heavy heart, Levi said his goodbye for the evening, guilty for blaming her for things out of her control.
The fifth time Levi visited her, it was snowing outside.
It was always a wonder how someone radiating light and warmth could be a winter child. But Levi was sure he memorized the date right. It was an important one for him, after all. Levi fought to make sure he had enough time to get ready for celebrating her birthday. She deserved nothing more than a perfect day. Hange had been more than understanding, the wound left by losing Moblit still fresh in their heart.
Levi put the bouquet of twenty-two golden roses on the frozen ground. “Happy birthday. Twenty-two, huh? You`re turning into an old woman, Ral.” The irony of his words made a slight pang of guilt rise in his chest. The passing of time would never touch her again.
“I have your favorite”- he said, lightly shaking the box containing a small vanilla cake. Sugar was a rarity, but getting a cake was an unspoken rule in his squad. Their lives were too short to worry about the money. The first thing Levi noticed about Petra was the faint flower smell emanating from her. The first thing after setting his eyes on her clean nails, of course. On her first birthday that they celebrated as a squad, Levi gifted Petra a bottle of scented body lotion. And some high-quality cleaning rags, of course. But she did not pay attention to that. She and the rest of the Survey Corps never knew how to appreciate the finer things in life. But Levi did not miss the way her face lit up when he noticed something she enjoyed.
“I could never understand your sweet tooth, but today, I`m going to have a slice of cake.” Levi always refrained from indulging in this vice. Having grown unaccustomed to sugar, the idea of sweetness was unappealing to him. He always felt bad for disappointing her each year when she sat in front of him, with a small piece of cake she had cut for him. “Or two slices. Two is more appropriate anyway. If I get cavities, it`s on your ass.”
The ground was too cold for him to sit down on, and Levi made a mental note to build a small bench close to her headstone. He opened the box and eyed the cake wearily, considering if he should change his mind. He took a small bite of the cake, and he almost choked on it. “Oi, this is so damn sweet. How the fuck could you eat so much of it?” But it did not stop him from finishing his slice.
Levi expected to find some flowers lying in the snow or at least some tracks leading up to her grave.
“Does your old man still come around? I`ve never crossed paths with him since the expedition.” Sometimes, when he closed his eyes at night, he could still recall Mr. Ral`s pained expression when he realized there was no one left for him to wait for.
“Maybe it`s for the best. I bet he doesn`t want to see me again.” To see the face of the man who was supposed to protect his daughter. The face of the man his daughter wanted to devote her life to. The man who could not even bring him a body home to bury.
“I`m a shit. Ruining your birthday with talk like this.” Levi was never good at this. In his spot, Eld would have teased Petra about her first expedition. Tell her how now that she was a big girl, she ought to refrain from soiling herself again. Petra would turn red from embarrassment and elbow Eld in the ribs. Gunther would point out that despite their age, they are still children. And proceed with teasing Petra himself. Oluo would try to defend Petra`s honor to gain her attention, which would make him the target instead. Levi gave a small smile at the thoughts. He missed them dearly, more than he would ever care to admit.
Levi crouched down and cleared the layer of snow covering her headstone. He ran his finger alongside the letters of her name, wishing he would have had more opportunities to write it down.
“Happy birthday again, brat.”
The last time he visited her, Levi had company. Gabi and Falco did not give it another thought before offering to help him see her again before they would all leave for a new life. A better life, he hoped. But without her by his side, it was never going to be perfect. Gabi set down the flowers before they gave him privacy. While they never asked him about who she was, they knew Levi must have cared for her a great deal.
"Hi, brat. It`s been a while."
He had so much to say to her, and yet, he did not know where to start. A part of him expected to join her during the last battle, but fate always had something new in store for him. Levi was uncertain if it was luck by his side or a curse to watch everyone he ever cared about die. But life was looking brighter, and Levi promised himself he would never lose anyone again.
"Are Hange and Erwin with you now? How about the guys?" He wished for nothing more than to be there by their side. But Levi knew they would never forgive him if he did not try to live the remainder of his life to the fullest. And for them, he would try.
"Does Oluo still bite his tongue? Did he try to flirt with you again? Is Eld still teasing you? Does Gunther still treat you as a little sister?" Levi chuckled at the memory of their antics. He learned the hard way that he never appreciated them enough before he lost them.
"I hope there is an afterlife. I hope it`s peaceful. You all deserve it. Such a shitty end..." He closed his eyes and sighed at the words coming out of his mouth. "I`m sorry, I didn`t mean it. But you already knew that. I was always an open book to you."
Levi felt guilty for leaving the home they bled for behind, but if he were truthful, it had not felt like home to him for years. With no one left by his side, nothing was keeping him in Paradise anymore. While neither of them voiced it out, he had dreamed of a future with Petra by his side. And for her, he would try to live a long and happy life. Before he got to be with her.
"I`m sorry... for the future I never got to offer you. The one you deserved. I`m sorry for the house I never got to build for us, for the vows we never got to take, for the brats that will never play in my backyard." Levi knew Petra would encourage him to find love, but he never would again. He could never imagine a future by someone else`s side.
Levi glanced back at her grave for one last time before he set out for the remainder of his life- "I`ll see you soon. Wait for me."
Part 2 of The Complications of Friendship and Love
⭑*•̩̩͙⊱••••✩••••̩̩͙⊰•*⭑
*Previously*
The pain she’d locked up inside washed over her, her knees buckling beneath her. Sirius moved swiftly, gathering her in his arms before she hit rock bottom. Y/N clutched his shirt in her fists, soaking it as she sobbed against his chest.
“I never thought something could hurt this bad,” her voice broke, tugging Sirius’ heartstrings. Y/N’s heart ached; her chest physically hurting as it constricted her heart. The pain was too much to handle; the wound tearing open and blood smearing the ears of whom the sounds of her anguish fell upon.
Sirius had always known a time like this would come. A time when he’d sit there holding the love of his life in his arms as she sobbed into his chest over his best friend, for his brother. And there was nothing he could possibly do about it.
*Now: one year later*
“I’m sorry.”
Y/N turned to look at him with a smile but her forehead scrunched in confusion.
“What? Why?” she laughed.
“For that,” Sirius gestured with a tilt of his head to the dancing couple.
Y/N turned to look at the dance floor, continuing to play with the rings on Sirius’ fingers like she had been for the past half an hour; moving them to the tip then back to the base of the finger, switching the ring’s position from finger to finger, twirling and tracing the metallic objects. They were seated at the head table where they’d previously been occupying the chairs next to the bride and groom.
Sirius watched Y/N as she looked at the newly-wed couple share one of the first dances of their marriage life, her chin resting on the palm of her hand, captivated by her magnificence. A slight smile played on her lips: she hadn’t been able to keep a straight face the whole day. Her Y/E/C eyes twinkled with happiness despite the circumstance. Her face glowed under the candlelight with delight. Sirius’ eyes scanned her face; from her forehead to her long lashes kissing the apple of her cheeks with every blink, down the slope of her nose, over her rosy cheeks and across her jawline down to her chin. They trailed down her neck, to her bare shoulders exposed by the mauve-coloured maid-of-honour dress that adorned her body.
He could spend all of his life like this, marvelling at her beauty. She was beautiful, enthralling.
Y/N sighed as she turned to look at their hands, her fingers fidgeting with the ring on Sirius’ ring finger, her finger moving lightly from the tip to the base of his finger. Sirius restrained himself from turning his hand around and weaved his fingers in between the spaces of hers. The thought was compelling but he resisted the urge.
It was quiet for a while; the music, glasses clinking and the chitchat from the other guests filling the silence that hung in the air between them.
Y/N sighed before she spoke, “Is it strange for me to say that I don’t think I ever loved him?” Her head lifted up, moving to stare ahead at the man that once supposedly held her heart in the palm of his hands. “I love him. I do. But I think it was only ever as friends. I don’t think I was ever in love with James. It was infatuation. Infatuation. with the idea of loving James; the whole cliche of best friends ending up as lovers.
“And maybe I wanted to prove to myself, more than others, that I could get something Lily couldn’t; I would be someone’s preference over her,” she whispered.
Y/N turned to observe the reaction of the man seated beside her, his reaction to thoughts she was afraid to admit to herself much less speak them out loud in the presence of another. Her fingers stopped their movements. She quickly retracted her hand as she misunderstood the frown that took over Sirius’ face, reacting to the pause of her caressing touch.
“You think I’m crazy,” she stated as if speaking a fact.
Sirius’ stormy eyes widened, his hands rushing to grab onto hers, “No, love. No.” His shoulder-length black hair hit his cheeks as he shook his head. “I just-”
A half-drunk James cut Sirius’ response, “Y/N! Come dance with me!”
Y/N slipped her hand out of Sirius’ as she stood up with a strained smile. She paused and for a moment Sirius thought she wanted to say something. Y/N swiftly sauntered over to the tripping-over-air James, as if he’d imagined the brief hesitation. Sirius watched her back as she giggled at James’ drunk antics and Lily’s attempt to get him to stop, the sweet, liquid honey melody falling upon his ears distinctly even through all the loud music and noise.
He watched her dance in his brother’s arms, her eyes filled with underlying anxiety glancing back to him every few seconds. He watched her and sat quietly in the chair until Lily came over and dragged him to the dance floor. And even as he danced, his arms wrapped around Lily’s waist, his eyes never once strayed from the spellbinding figure moving around the dance floor.
⭑*•̩̩͙⊱••••✩••••̩̩͙⊰•*⭑
It was well past midnight, the festivities died down and the venue emptied out. Y/N and Sirius remained behind, insisting they’d be okay to take care of everything else; payments, wedding gifts, making sure everything was cleaned up - their last duties as best man and maid of honour.
Y/N sat with her legs stretched outside, the lush green grass tickling her bare legs as she leaned back on her arms, gazing at the celestial starry night sky; the stars luminescent and the moon glowing. The sweet smell of the wedding food lingered in the air, blending with the scent of a hot summer night. The humidity of summer seeped into her pores making her feel sticky all over.
Sirius sat beside Y/N; his luscious black hair tied up into a messy bun at the back of his head. His coat and tie had been abandoned sometime during the night, the sleeves of his white shirt rolled up to his elbows. The few unfastened buttons allowed the summer air to blow against the small portion of his unclothed chest, cooling him down after the many hours of dancing with countless people.
Sirius sat, hyper-aware of the brush of Y/N’s shoulder against his, her hair blowing against the back of his neck, her legs bumping into his. Electricity crackled through his arm every time his fingers touched her hand when he rested the bottle of firewhisky in his hands against the ground.
“How did you know?” he spoke quietly, the faint sounds of the hired help cleaning up in the tent in the background.
“Hmm?” Y/N hummed in question, distracted by the sight in front of her. Her brain had gone into relax mode; the warm summer breeze, the slight buzz from the wedding drinks and the presence of the man beside her driving her into a state of total relaxation and comfort.
“How did you know that you didn't love him?”
Y/N sighed closing her eyes, her fingers twirling a blade of grass she’d plucked from the ground.
“It’s odd,” she opened her eyes back to the view of the sky, absentmindedly searching for the different stars and constellations they’d learnt all about in Astronomy during their years at Hogwarts. “It’s like the further I got from him, the more I realized what it was like being with him. How it was always me giving too much: too much time, too much attention, too many promises. Too much love.”
Sirius listened attentively, not inputting any opinions and letting Y/N speak her mind like she so clearly needed to. How did he know that? He couldn’t say, he just knew.
“I realized how every day would end with me getting hurt and crying. Every moment I spent with him; I'd have to beg for him to pay the least bit of attention to me; beg him to go out with me. Wanting him made me feel desperate, desperate for love, desperate for him. Not once did he truly make me feel wanted. I noticed how each day our relationship had gotten toxic; the need to control things and the attention he gave Lily, the insecurity he made me feel. Not once did he truly make me feel wanted.”
Y/N paused, taking a moment to catch her breath. She had never spoken her thoughts out loud, frightened of how the person whose ears they fell upon would come to hate her. But she’d realized that the same fear had driven her to put up walls and innumerable metaphorical miles between her and her friends, the same fear that led to her breaking down in the middle of the corridor because she could no longer bear the burden of loneliness and suffering.
Sirius placed his hand on top of Y/N’s, curling his fingers around it.
‘It’s okay, I’m here. Take your time,’ the gesture spoke.
Y/N turned her head sideways, looking into Sirius’ eyes as she took a deep breath and continued to speak. “Suddenly, days after that day, I realized that I wasn't in love. What I felt for James had never been love. Love was not supposed to hurt that much. Love was not supposed to make me hate myself or want to be someone else. Love wouldn't have faded away the minute I put some distance between us. Love shouldn’t have made me feel like a burden, it shouldn’t have made me feel inadequate in any way.”
Y/N flipped her around, her palm touching Sirius, her fingers inserting themselves between the spaces of his calloused ones.
“Love is strong. Love is holding the person crying, without a word, even when you're dying inside. Love is like the rain; gentle, flooding, downpouring, drenching the world with its presence. Love makes you feel beautiful, love makes each day shine a bit more brighter and ends with you laying in bed late at night, smiling into the dark because your reality is so much better than your dreams, than your fantasies. And you want to bask in it for the rest of your life.
“Love is sacrifice. Love is surrendering yourself to the other person knowing that they will take you as you are, never wanting to change a single thing about you.
“Love is pure. Love is sure. Love is safe. Love is everlasting, like the universe. Love is....”
Y/N fell silent. Her eyes flickered between Sirius’ eyes, the storm behind them ravaging with unsaid questions and undetermined notions, as she gathered the courage to finally speak the truth that had been left unsaid for months.
"Love is you."
Sirius’ breath hitched at the whispered confession. He blinked, almost comically. He was sure his mind was playing tricks on him. Y/N couldn’t have said what he’d heard; it just was not possible. Right…?
“W-what?” he managed to choke out, his eyes blown wide open in shock.
Y/N blushed under his eyes, the flush of her cheeks crimson under the moon and starlight and faint lights from the tent nearby.
Y/N’s Y/E/C eyes focused on Sirius’ chest, darting from tattoo to tattoo, too nervous to meet his eyes.
“I- I…” she stuttered, too shy to speak the words. She was sure of what she felt, it was something she had never experienced before. It filled her body up with a surreal warmth, like a flame burning in the pit of her stomach, something that left her smiling at nothing, in absence of everything. Even in this time of war, she felt everything would be okay as long as she had Sirius standing by her side, holding her hand whether it was as friends or something more. Love, that is what it was; no need for a label or anything, just their friendship would be enough to pull through the darkest of days.
Sirius moved forward, his hand cupping her jaw as he leaned his forehead against hers. His eyes were closed shut, his other hand clutching the grass in a fist.
“I need to hear you say it,” he pleaded fervently, “Please.”
“I love you.”
Sirius surged forward, his lips connecting with Y/N’s. His hand left the grass, a few blades stuck between his fingers. He gripped the back of Y/N’s neck, the rings on his fingers cool against her hot skin, bringing her impossibly closer, the space between their bodies nonexistent. His fingers weaved into her soft hair, his nails scratching her scalp. The hand resting against her jaw tilted her face up for better access, allowing him to deepen the kiss. Sirius moaned at the feeling of Y/N’s hands moving, exploring every inch of his chest, shoulders and back.
Their lips moved feverishly and passionately, pulling back only once the need for air became too great.
Even then, Sirius leaned forward once, twice, thrice, kissing Y/N’s lips like they were the enriched oxygen keeping him alive, breathing life into his lungs and functioning his organs.
“You have no idea how long I have waited to hear those words falling from your mouth,” he said before reconnecting their lips into a kiss once again, soft, gentle and long-lasting unlike the others they’d shared but filled with just as much love.
Masterlist
----------------------------------------------------------
You sat across from Toast on the table, his dark glasses covering his eyes as he patiently waited, a map in front of him. He pulled an identical map from underneath the wooden table you sat at and replaced the one that had previously laid on the table.
His face was neutral, he didn't fight the silence that hung in the air. He looked at you as you leant back in your chair, fingers impatiently tapping the table in front of you.
"You don't have to be here you know." He spoke up, his voice carrying practiced authority that could silence an entire meeting full of arguing. Yet as he spoke to you, it had a tone of kindness to it. After all the time you spent together and the situations you had been in with one another he saw you more as his younger sister than anything else. It was a position you had acquired for most of the cartel.
As the sister of Scarra you had a lot of authority in the cartel, although it wasn't as if you needed it. Everyone, no matter how recently the cartel had taken them under it's wing, viewed you as their little sister in the hierarchy of the family.
"Don't worry about it. I want to see the new blood." Toast nodded his head a few times as if to ponder.
Today the new person Toast had scouted out would be arriving at the cartel for his first job, he'd be monitored by Sykunno.
"Are you sure Sykunno would be the best fit?" You had seen his information, they seemed far from compatible.
Toast offered you a small smile, brushing his hair back as he repositioned his glasses. His voice was confident as he spoke, a small hint of his smile could be heard in his voice, "I'm sure."
The male in front of you had always had a scarily good intuition about people, which was how he had recruited most in the cartel.
You nodded in return, but before you had the chance to even consider getting bored again, a stern knock on the door pulled your attention to it.
Toast gave a signal for the person on the other side to come in. You locked eyes with him, he was largely build, carefully dressed in a white blouse with a black vest, tie and dress pants, with white gloves covering his hands. A purple mask covered most of his face, but black curly hair framed the small piece of exposed skin he showed.
His eyes were sharp as he locked them with yours. Your eyebrow raised curiously as he returned his attention back to the male in front of him, "Corpse."
"Disguised Toast." He spoke back, his voice deep and serious as you looked him over. If you hadn't known better you probably wouldn't have been aware of the true nature of the man, despite the intimidating aura that hung around him.
"It's a bad habit to be late." You spoke up as you calmly leant back in your chair, usually when you accompanied Toast to these kinds of things you stayed silent in the background as you observed.
Toast gave you a curious look for that, it was largely hidden by the glasses on his face but it was obvious for you after all the years.
Corpse stayed silent to your remark as you narrowed your eyes, "you'd do good to change the habit before doing something you'll regret." The message in your words was clear, don't pull this again if you want to keep your spot in the cartel.
He gave you a silent nod as Toast returned to the topic, "to start off, you'll be disposing of someone. Sykunno will accompany you as your guardian." He pushed the document to the end of the table where Corpse grabbed it and opened it briefly.
"You'll be reporting back to me, in three days. I want it done before then." Once more Corpse nodded his head as Toast dismissed him.
He walked out of the room, being met by a calm face with a gentle smile displayed. He offered his hand to Corpse, "I'm Sykunno, happy to meet you."
"That was unlike you." Toast remarked as he turned to you, you simple leant back in your chair as you met his eyes, "he needs to know his place."
Toast nodded as he grabbed the document from underneath the table that displayed Corpse's information. He stood up as he walked to the door, closing it behind him as he left you alone in the room.
•••••••••
Sykunno was crouching in front of the body, turning to his companion with a small smile on his face, "jesus, you actually killed him." His voice was calm as he grabbed the dead man's cheek with his gloved hand.
Corpse still held the gun in his hand, he had considered pointing it at the male in front of him but something about it made him unable to actually commit to the deed.
Sykunno tilted the corpse's head around, before releasing and sliding his gloves fingers through the blood that had formed a puddle on the ground and spreading it between his finger tips.
His clean hand grabbed his phone as Corpse stood silently against the wall watching the scene in front of him. Not a single drop of blood had reached him.
"Yvonne? Yes, I'll text you the address." He stayed silent as Corpse could hear a female voice on the other side of the call, "hmh, yes that should be fine. Take it to my garden, it'll make for fine fertilizer."
Corpse curiously listened along, he had known there was more to Sykunno than the sly, calm, gentle and happy mask he wore.
Sykunno stepped away, turning back to Corpse with a gentle smile on his face as he clicked the call away and returned his phone to the pocket it originated from.
"Let's go, Toast will be happy to hear the results."
They calmly walked out of the building as a small van stopped in front of it. Corpse's hand automatically moved to the gun in it's holster at his side.
The movement from Sykunno's hand made him stop as the back doors of the van opened, he started walking past it as a female with blonde hair and pink ends carried out a small trolley with cleaning supplies displayed.
Sykunno offered her a small nod of his head which she returned. Corpse could distantly hear her speak to the front door man, "I'm the cleaning service that was ordered for today."
"There was no such thing."
"I've been send here by Y/n, ask the front desk, they'll know." The man left his position for a second as he leant inside, his voice muffled, before turning back "please, come in."
He followed Sykunno as they fled the scene.
•••••••••••
Lily granted you a smile as you entered the room, beside her sat Toast and at the head of the table sat your brother, Don Scarra.
"Brother." You greeted him first as you moved to the table. A fond smile formed on his face, "sister, how have you been?"
You returned the genuine smile as you sat down, "The days have been interesting with our newest member." Scarra nodded his head thoughtfully.
It had been a few weeks since Corpse had accomplished his first task. Sykunno still watched over him but they were more akin to companions than a guardian. They had gone of a few other tasks, and for now Corpse had the trust of the cartel.
The other two greeted you as well as Toast slid a file over the table towards you. "What do you think?"
You had started in the cartel innocently enough, despite your older brothers desperate attempts to keep you out. Your contacts were simply unparalleled.
Besides that you were an important person, both in and out of the cartel, and eventually Scarra had decided it was safest for you to become part of the cartel, seeing as there was no safer place for you to be.
Your eyes scanned the pages, nodding your head as you read. A large celebration party for the opening of a new casino, the owner however refused to repay the cartel according to Ludwig who was in charge of the cartels money flow. He was divine in covering up the hardest of situations to the government and cheating the system.
The price had apparently build up to the amount where only his life would suffice, although as you looked at the mans information you doubted if even that was enough.
"I'll be able to get some people in, but for that I will have to attend myself as well." You shot a glance at Scarra, who had always been seriously opposed to you working in the field.
"Then we'll find another moment." Scarra spoke up as you had expected him to do, this wasn't the first time and you had a hunch it wouldn't be the last either.
Toast spoke up, "with all due respect, Don Scarra, but the target has been in hiding for months. This may be the only shot we have until he disappears again."
Lily repositioned her hat, the white flower on it changing position with the movement as she turned to the Don, "this would be a low risk mission, the guest list has been screened by Micheal, so the only obstacle will be the security. I've made him download the building plans and he'll be on comms to guide us through."
Scarra however still didn't seem convinced as Toast continued on Lily's reasoning, "beside that, we can send enough people to accompany her. We'll need her reputations to get into the VIP areas where he'll most likely stay hidden. Y/n will be kept out of danger at all costs."
Scarra seemed convinced as you turned to him, knowing you wouldn't have a say in the matter, "so who will accompany me?"
The Incident
(tw)
It was one day after the incident when Sirius Black found himself holding an ice pack to his, now swollen and black, eye.
James had wasted no time in telling Remus exactly what Sirius had done and what would have happened had it not been for him intervening in the last minute.
To say Remus was absolutely pissed would be an understatement.
He marched right up to where Sirius was talking to Lily by the lake, lightly pushed the red head out of the way, and swung as hard as he could at Sirius’ face.
He hit him with so much force that the boy nearly went flying into the lake, catching himself just in time as he clutched a hand over his eye.
The look Remus was giving him could only be described as murderous, and it sent chills down Sirius’ spine as he straightened back up.
Sirius felt his heart shatter right then and there as Remus flung curse word after curse word at him, not holding back in the slightest. Even as tears slowly started to drip from Sirius’ eyes.
Sirius had never seen Remus like this before —it almost reminded him of what he had imagined Remus would be like if he gave way to the wolf just a little— and Sirius never wanted to see this side of him again.
Sirius would rather be dead.
It was five days after the incident when Sirius Black found himself bleeding out on the quidditch pitch for the first time.
Snivellus and his band of Deatheater Slytherins had found him laying on the grass watching the stars with tears streaming down his face when they had decided to hex him. As soon as the first wand flashed, Sirius was in an overwhelming amount of pain.
Or at least he would’ve been if he hadn’t already felt so numb.
They stopped casting hexes and left when they noticed that Sirius was hardly breathing, all of them being too scared to stick around and get caught with hurting, or even possibly killing, another student.
Sirius hoped for the latter.
And had it not been for Dorcas and Marlene sneaking around past curfew, that might’ve been the case. They found him blacked out, blood staining all of his clothes with a deep crimson that reflected sickly in the moonlight.
He woke up a few days later with Madam Pomfrey beside his bed, bandaged up from head to toe. She informed him that he would heal up just fine and that there was no permanent damage. He simply thanked her and did his best to muster a smile, but there was no feeling behind it.
Sirius would rather be dead.
It was two weeks after the incident when Sirius Black found himself in detention for getting into a fight.
He had passed by a third year boy in the hallway and overheard him having a conversation about a certain werewolf and his suspicious new scars.
The behavior was so unlike Sirius that Professor McGonagall had to do a double take when she forcibly pulled him off of the innocent boy he was pummeling, nearly gasping at the sight of his emotionless and empty grey eyes.
She pulled him to the side, dispersing the crowd of onlookers the fight had caused, and stared down at him with a gaze that was enough to tie Sirius’ stomach into knots.
She wasn’t the first person to give him a look of pure disappointment.
James Potter made sure to give him one of those looks every single day.
He was aware that she knew exactly what had happened just fourteen days prior and he had fully prepared himself to be scolded by her, but instead she just asked if he was alright and if he wanted to talk about it.
Of course he didn’t want to talk about it.
Sirius would rather be dead.
It was a month after the incident when Sirius Black found himself having a panic attack in the middle of the Great Hall.
It was the first time he had been in there since Remus had found out what he had done, and Sirius just couldn’t bare the thought of sitting at that god forsaken Gryffindor table.
But he finally forced himself in, taking a seat on the opposite end of his friends, next to a sweet looking second year girl with blonde pigtails. She smiled up at him and he felt his heart clench out of guilt when he couldn’t smile back.
It was only when he looked down and saw that the food in front of him was none other than Remus’ favorite meal, that the air was viciously ripped out of his lungs.
It was all too much.
He started clutching his tightening chest, heaving, gasping, wracking for the breath that he suddenly couldn’t seem to get in through his trembling lips.
The young girl reached her hand out to him, concern pooling in her deep blue eyes, but he simply flinched away. Standing up from his seat, he weakly stumbled out of the Great Hall and into an empty corridor.
He couldn’t let Remus or James or Peter see him like this, he didn’t want them to think he was weak.
Sirius would rather be dead.
It was four months after the incident that Sirius Black found himself clutching his knees to his chest as he cried in his bed.
He was in the bathroom when he had heard Remus and James walk in, the two having no idea he was in there. For the first time in months Sirius finally felt an emotion other than heartbreak and self loathing.
“Do you still love him?” James had asked Remus.
“Yes.”
The one word nearly made Sirius scream out with joy, he couldn’t believe it. Moony —his Moony— just admitted that he still loved him. For one, brief moment, Sirius felt a small tinge of hope.
“But I wish I didn’t. And I hate the fact that I do. And I want to stop.”
Then the world came crashing down on him again.
It took everything in him not to break out into crying sobs right then and there, but he waited until they were gone and slowly emerged, staggering blindly to his bed.
The tears were stinging his eyes as he replayed Remus’ words over and over again inside of his head. He had forgotten what hope felt like and wished on everything that he hadn’t had such a small taste of it just then. Sirius would rather be miserable his entire life.
Sirius would rather be dead.
It was six and a half months after the incident when Sirius Black found himself staring up at Remus Lupin from the ground.
He was drained, hadn’t slept in at least a week and a half, hadn’t eaten in the past four days —he was getting dangerously skinny— and was hardly able to walk correctly. The dark circles under his eyes looked sickening against his tan skin, but he had long since lost all cause to care.
His head hung heavily between his shoulders, eyes trained to the ground, as he rounded the corridor corner. A weak huff pushed past his lips when a body slammed into him, knocking him down onto his back.
“Shit, are you alri—”
The boy’s words cut off as soon as he saw who he had caused to knock down, Sirius looking blankly up at him. For a second, Sirius nearly thought he saw a wave of concern flash over Remus’ face, but he knew it was just his imagination.
He turned his eyes back down, collecting the books that he had dropped due to the fall, and struggled to push his frail body off of the ground.
“Sorry,” he mumbled, nearly too quiet for the other boy to hear, before continuing his walk to class.
He couldn’t stand to wait around and chance seeing the look of disgust he had grown so accustomed to seeing on Remus’ face reappear. He couldn’t stand to see those pretty pink lips he loved so much curl up into a snarl one more time.
Sirius would rather be dead.
It was eight months and three days after the incident when Sirius Black found himself standing on the ledge of the astronomy tower.
His entire body was shaking —whether from the strength it took to stand or the wind billowing past him, he didn’t know— and silent tears were streaming down his flushed cheeks. His knuckles were turning white as he gripped onto the stone, the only thing keeping him in place.
He just couldn’t anymore.
He couldn’t wake up one more day knowing that Remus —and his other two best friends that he loved more than anything in the world—hated him.
He couldn’t go through another potions class watching Remus’ hands shake any time a Slytherin sent him even the smallest glance, sometimes even causing him to drop a vile altogether.
He couldn’t walk through the hall all by himself as the people he cared for most brushed past him like he was nothing more than a vapor, a nonexistent ghost floating by.
He couldn’t spend one more night staring numbly up at the top of his red and gold four poster bed, curtains tied shut, as he listened to Remus’ laughter.
He just couldn’t.
He couldn’t live with the fact that he had hurt the one boy he swore on his entire life he would always protect. It was all too much for him to bare and it was crushing him and the pain was just so excruciating.
So his hand let go, and he lifted his foot to step off the ledge, eyes trained forward to the waning moon in the sky.
Sirius would rather be dead.
And he would’ve been.
Had it not been for the pale hand that wrapped around his wrist just in time, yanking the weak boy back into the tower and into a firm chest.
Sirius could hardly stand, his knees finally giving out beneath him, his body only being held up by the arms wrapped tightly around his waist. Looking down at him, tears spilling out of his amber eyes, was a very heartbroken Remus Lupin. Sirius was confused, holding onto his consciousness just long enough to hear one sentence slip from the scarred boy’s mouth.
“I don’t want you dead.”
my tears ricochet {s.b}
 -“You wear the same jewels that I gave you”
description - reader’s family forces them to get the dark mark, on a mission they end up fighting with the order.
warnings - sad, angst, betrayal
 word count - 1.7k
Tumblr media
You’re dragged out of your bed at midnight, kicking and screaming because you know what’s next and you’re dreading every second of it. You push through the dark, giant french doors and are met with the blistering cold and the aura of pure evil.
Instantly straightening up, refusing to show any weakness in front of the people that would kill you without a second thought and bathe in your screams and blood. Putting on a brave face projecting willingness upon taking the dark mark, when in reality you’ve been threatened, your friends have been threatened, a baby has been threatened and you would be damned if you let your godson get hurt.
“Ah, Y/n I assume you’re ready to pledge your allegiance to me,” The man with the beady red eyes and the pale face spoke. You hated him, others feared him but you despise him with every inch of your being. You don’t fear the coward, you fear his ideals.
“Yes My Lord, I am ready,” speaking with a powerful voice meant nothing, on the inside you were quaking with anger, the only things keeping you calm and collected on the outside were the fact that Sirius and Harry could be kept safe, you could protect them better if you knew what Voldemort and his followers were planning. At that moment you couldn’t care what happened to you, you just had to protect them.
As they say, keep your friends close but your enemies closer.
With the ivory wand pointed to your forearm you watched the black ink bleed into your skin, forming the snake and skull, the mark of darkness, the mark of evil.
Pain is all you felt in the moment, you may have felt like your blood was boiling before but now you were almost certain you could feel bubbles pop under your skin. Dizziness washed over you as you fell back into someone’s arms.
_
You awoke groaning as the light that invaded your room attempted to blind you, sitting up in your bed you recall the events of the day prior. Horrifying, that is the only way you could possibly describe it. You hated being in a room full of people with such horrendous views, ones you didn’t agree with in the slightest.
A loud pop beside your bed startles you nearly making your heart jump out of your chest. The house-elf you’ve come to know as Dotty rushes to pull your body out of bed.
“Miss the dark lord, request your presence this instant,” she said, scrambling around your bedroom pulling out clothing for you to wear.
Eyes drifting to your still stinging forearm, you wince at the sight. The dark mark, something that you could never remove, something that would most definitely get you thrown in Azkaban.
As you get dressed the elf pushes you out the door, rushing to pull you to the meeting room. Standing outside the doors you mentally prepare yourself for what’s to come.
Entering the room all eyes turn towards you “ Ahh our newest recruit, I see you're doing better,” the deathly pale man says.
You gulp “Yes, my lord thank you” he nods pointing to an empty seat at the large table.
“The Order is going to be in the forbidden forest tonight looking for something that they think could weaken me,” he scoffs, “how pathetic” a few of the death eaters in the room chuckle.
“ Ten of you will be chosen to meet them there and defeat them,” he says looking at the table. “The following Death Eaters will go,” you drone out his voice focusing on keeping your mental shields up, not risking Voldemort penetrating your mind. “ And the last one is Mis y/l/n”
He looks at you “This will be your first and only chance to prove yourself, don’t disappoint me”
Refusing to meet his eyes, you respond “Yes, My Lord thank you”
-
Harsh spells are whizzing past you, Unforgivable curses being shot by death eaters. So far you’ve managed to block three fatal curses directed at order members. You couldn’t let them get hurt, you refused to.
Thankfully the mask blocked your face or else all of your friends would be able to see your face. None of them knew you were forced to become a death eater you didn't think they’d understand.
“Bombarda!” you heard a voice  yell from behind you. Knocking you off your feet, Falling to the ground you internally curse yourself not wanting to turn around and see one of your friends. The last thing you wanted to do was fight one of them in risk of hurting them, you could never forgive yourself for that.
Pulling yourself together you stand up and whip around and point to the person's chest. You lock eyes with the person and you feel your knees start to wobble. Sirius.
He looks down and eyes your wand suspiciously before looking back up at you not noticing what your true identity is. You know he would hate you if he found out, he would feel betrayed and honestly you wouldn’t blame him in the slightest.
Fighting with sirius was horrible, you hated every second of it. Only using defensive spells because you couldn’t bring yourself to hurt him.
You feel someone come up behind you at the moment Sirius sends a painful spell to your chest, sending you back a bit. As you stumble back you feel someone put cuffs on your wrist then the nauseating sensation of apparition.
You’re shoved onto the ground harshly, vision still slightly blurry from apparating. Someone pulls you from the floor on to a chair, tieing you there. Looking up to see who it was, you see an emotionless expression across Rumus’ face.
Keeping your head hung not bearing to meet any of your friends eyes knowing the hurt they’ll feel when they take your mask off. Familiar apparition pops surround you.
“I see you got one of them,” one chuckles. You know that voice anywhere, you didn’t even need to look up to know that it was James.
“Yeah, we were waiting for you guys,” Sirius says “We haven’t taken their mask off yet” he states.
“Oh I want to do it,” Lily says as she walk up to you, her hand reaching out to pull your mask off. They would never think about you the same and you knew that but you didn’t know how to explain the situation.
Her soft fingers grasp the edge of your mask as she slowly hooks them around the end pulling it of completely.
Sharp gasp can be heard from throughout the room as Lily loses her grasp on the mask letting it drop to the ground with a thud. Her hand goes up to her mouth in a feeble attempt to muffle a sob that tries to escape her lips.
Your head drops shielding your tear-filled eyes from your friends, “Y/n, how could you” this time it was Remus, his usual stoic expression gone with only pain and hurt on his features.
“I’m sorry” was all you could get out without breaking down. “What do you mean you're sorry, you betrayed us” Sirius exclaimed with rage rolling off his tongue “You betrayed me!” he exclaimed this time, with hurt.
You scoff “You really think I wanted this, I hate them and I’m one of them. Do you really think I did this willingly Sirius, how daft are you?” You say looking into the eyes of the one person that you hoped would believe in you.
Sirius drags you through the rain, puddles splashing under your feet but you didn’t care. Both of you are giggling like maniacs, utterly in love maniacs.
He picks you up by your waist and twirls around, peppering kisses on your face.
“I love you,  I love you, I love you” he exclaims in between kisses.
“Always and forever?” you ask looking up at him through your lashes which are weighed down by rain.
“Always and forever” He confirms pulling you into his arms.
The tension between the two of you was painstakingly obvious, as you glared at each other, both with tears in your eyes.
“Why, then Y/n what possible reason could you have for this”
You sighed “He threatened Harry, he said he’ll kill him If I didn't join” you looked up at them all having uncertainty in their eyes clearly wanting to believe you but still unsure. “You don’t believe me do you” pain is obvious in your voice.
“I'm sorry y/n but I'm not sure,” James says as he inches closer to you, holding up a small vial of a potion. You nod knowing where this situation goes next, Tipping your head back and opening your mouth slightly for James to drop the potion in. You grimace as you swallow the bitter liquid.
They ask you again, the same story spilling off your tongue.
“Please tell me you believe me now,” you sobbed, shame and disgust pooling in your chest. You hated yourself in that moment.
Both Lily and James ran to you and engulfed you in a tight bear hug “Thank you so much y/n thank you for saving him,”lily said as she sobbed into your shoulder.
Sirius cleared his throat from across the room, the non-verbal request was clear. Remus, James and Lily left the room leaving you and Sirius alone. Your head hung in shame and he walked behind you and undid the bounding on your wrist.
“You still wear it”
Your head shoots up looking at him with a questionable glance. “You wear the same jewels that I gave you,” he says, referring to the dainty necklace sitting comfortably between your collar bones.
You nod, “I’ve never taken it off and I don't intend on taking it off, ever,” he pulls you into a hug.
“I'm sorry I didn’t believe you” he says as he rests his head in the crook of your neck.
You dip your head down to rest on his, “Always and forever” you feel him nod “always and forever he says in response.
BEOMGYU IMAGINE ࿐ ࿔:・゚*
contains: fluff, angst, happy ending, fem!reader
word count: 3.7k
summary: you’re forced into a marriage with beomgyu, the son of hades
Tumblr media
this wasn’t what he wanted. this wasn’t how he wanted it to happen. when beomgyu had told his father he liked you a lot and wish he could date you, this isn’t what he meant. but really, what else would you expect from a man who got his wife in the exact same ways. damn hades and his impulsive and irrational ways.
beomgyu paces around persephone’s garden, walking up and down the dark stone paths past pomegranate trees with orange blossoms, deep green bushes, poisonous shrubs and glowing mushrooms. like the cloudy mahogany sky above him, there is a gloom over his mind. groaning and tugging at his hair, beomgyu tries to figure out what to say to you.
“y/n, i’m so sorry. i swear i didn’t ask hades to do this. my dad… he’s… he’s a bit… he’s a bit…” beomgyu groans and flops onto the wide edge of a fountain that spews a blood-like liquid rather than water. “this is hopeless. y/n, i’m so so so so sorry.”
“it’s okay.”
beomgyu jumps at your sombre voice. his heart flutters. there you are, looking solemn yet as beautiful as ever. you’re dressed in your usual bright colours and there’s a flower behind your ear, but you don’t look like you usually do. you look dreary and tired and… honestly? half dead. and beomgyu would know. not only does he live in the underworld, where you currently are, for a quarter of the year, his demigod powers include sensing the life auras of other’s. yours is surrounded by a layer of death.
usually, you look like a beautiful spring flower in full bloom, but right now beomgyu thinks you look like a wilted flower, dying a slow death. your cheeks are hollow, your skin is losing its glow and colour, dark lines circle your eyes.
“y/n,” beomgyu says. he’s surprised to see you here. ever since his father dragged you down here you’d been locked in your room, avoiding everyone. “y/n, i’m so sorry.”
you shrug weakly. “i know this wasn’t your intention.”
“i’ve tried to persuade my dad to let you go but… he doesn’t like being told what to do. his temper is… extreme. but i’ll keep trying. i’m so sorry.”
shrugging again, you sit on a nearby marble bench, your shoulders hunching forward like your spine is struggling to hold you up.
beomgyu feels his heart break at how little energy you have. that’s the effect the underworld has on outsiders. it reacts much like an immune system when a foreign bacteria or disease enters the body. because the underworld is a place for the dead, it sucks the energy out of the living which it does not know, those not from it or tied to those from it.
beomgyu sinks back to his seat on the fountain. “have you eaten?”
“no.”
it might sound weird to others, but beomgyu’s glad you haven’t. eating from the underworld means you cannot leave.
“i doubt you’ve been sleeping well,” beomgyu then says.
as if having your literal life force drained from you and not being to eat wasn’t enough, the constant tortured screams echoing out from tartarus can be hard to block out at night.
you shake your head.
beomgyu watches as the flower behind your ear dislodges and floats to the ground, shrivelling to dust when it touches the ashy ground.
you see it too, an ironic smile forming. “this really is the land of the dead, isn’t it?” one strained laugh leaves your lips. “you know, the longer i’m here, the more i feel like i’m becoming like everyone else hear. dead.”
beomgyu’s breath hitches. he can’t stand this.
❀⊱┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄
the next night, beomgyu knocks on your bedroom door and calls your name, praying you’ll let him in. he had persuaded a hermes child he knows to deliver some ambrosia to the gates of hell. beomgyu hoped the food of the gods, known to heal and recover, would help you regain your energy.
beomgyu is surprised when you open the door, even if it’s only a crack.
“yes,” comes your tired voice through the small gap you’d opened.
“i have some ambrosia for you,” beomgyu says. “i doubt it’ll do much but hopefully you’ll feel a little better.”
you open the door fully for beomgyu and walk back to your bed. you hold in the sigh of relief when you sit down. you’re so drained and lacking in energy that just walking making you feel nauseous.
you observe beomgyu as he steps in and shuts the door behind him. even now, late in the evening, he wears a sleek black suit jacket and dress pants. he doesn’t wear a tie. his fingers are adorned with silver rings matching the silver chain you see peeking behind the colour of his button-down shirt. maybe if you weren’t so miserable you’d find him attractive. you always did at camp, particularly after he’d spar with his friends and push his jet black hair off his forehead.
“can i sit?” beomgyu asks, gesturing to the spot beside you.
you nod.
beomgyu perches on the edge of the bed next to you, leaving some space because as much as he likes you, he doubts you like him right now.
“there’s not a lot but…” beomgyu hands you the small paper box. there are nine cubes of golden ambrosia inside.
“thank you,” you say. your voice is weak and it hurts beomgyu to hear it.
“i’m sorry,” he says again.
“it’s okay,” you reply, popping a cube of ambrosia into your mouth. “there’s nothing we can do about it now.”
for what feels like the hundredth time, beomgyu’s heart breaks and he whispers, “i’m sorry.”
and for the first time since you arrived here four days ago, you look beomgyu in the eyes. you see for the first time that he’s hurting too. there’s a sadness in his eyes you’ve rarely seen before. the sadness one feels when someone they care for is hurt.
slowly, you lean your head against his shoulder. beomgyu flinches from shock but stays still. the two of you stay like this for a while until beomgyu helps you under the covers and you fall asleep, your last thought being that while you’d rather be a million other places than this, there are worse people to be forced to marry.
❀⊱┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄
the next day, beomgyu finds you in the garden. you look a little better. you’re admiring some black lily flowers and beomgyu is suddenly reminded of your parentage.
“i’m sure your mother is absolutely furious with my father right now,” beomgyu says, startling you a little. “he’s stolen two of her children now.”
“bold of you to assume she wasn’t already,” you say, eyes still on the lilies.
“right, yes.”
“demeter is a very bitter woman, you know,” you continue. you turn and slowly make your way to a nearby tree with low hanging branches. it’s a pomegranate tree.
beomgyu watches you silently. he’s happy you’ve recovered a little, though you aren’t nearly as joyful as you are above ground.
“do you see her often?” you ask suddenly, running a hand down the trunk of the tree. “persephone?”
“no,” beomgyu answers, making his way towards you and the tree. he walks with his hands behind his back. “we have… conflicting schedules, you could say. i leave for camp during the summer. when i return she is here but not for long as she leaves just before spring and is gone all season so that the harvests will be successful.”
you nod in understanding.
beomgyu stands just beyond the reach of the tree branches. “have you met her?”
“no. we are only half-sisters. plus she’s here mostly.”
“that is true.”
“is she nice?” you ask, a question that you have considered a number of times.
beomgyu kicks at the ground absentmindedly. “yes. she’s kind to me. though, i think my father’s temper has rubbed off on her after all this time. she can be surprisingly fierce.”
nodding to show you’re listening, you put both of your hands against the tree and focus your power into it.
“she treats me well. like a son, i suppose. she asks me about camp and my friends, she jokes that she only leaves during spring to make sure i get fed.” beomgyu smiles. “she’s really kind and polite and gentle and loving.“
beomgyu looks at you. your eyebrows are pulled together in concentration. he’s seen you use your powers like this at camp before. you can heal plants and prompt them to produce flowers or fruit. a fond smile tugs at his lips. "like you.”
your eyes open, landing immediately on beomgyu. his widen, shocked, realising his words. he turns away from you to hide his blush and clears his throat loudly. he wasn’t intending to make any a move of any sort of you, thinking it wrong to flirt with you when your marriage is forced.
but you find it amusing that the compliment just slipped out. and you appreciate it. you can see the tips of his ears burning red.
deciding to return to your room, you reach up to the pomegranate you had used your powers to produce and tug it from its branch of the tree. stepping up to beomgyu and tapping his shoulder, you place the red fruit in his hand and walk away.
❀⊱┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄
yours and beomgyu’s wedding is not for another week. in the days leading up, you spend a lot of time together, the ambrosia he brought slowly healing you more and more. you find yourself able to laugh again. perhaps you even find yourself growing to like beomgyu.
you knew him well enough at camp half blood but mainly through mutual friends. after a week of getting to know him more, you wonder why you weren’t closer before. though, the screams from tartarus at night remind you that the whole son of hades thing likely formed a negative bias against him in your mind.
but that bias dissipates over time. you see that he’s just a boy trying to enjoy life. he didn’t ask to be a demigod, and he certainly didn’t ask for his godly parent to be the king of the underworld. this detail almost completely slips your mind until three days until your wedding when you ask beomgyu what it’s like beyond the garden walls.
he’s reluctant to take you outside at first but eventually does.
“um, you should probably hold my hand,” he stutters. “it’s easy to get lost out here and there’s a lot of dangerous things.”
you glance at his hand. he’s wearing an odd piece of hand jewellery. thick rings around his fingers are connected to a matching bracelet at his wrist by thin chains. the black metal is a stark contrast to his pale skin.
your staring turns beomgyu’s ears pink and hes quick to say, “y-you can just hold my jacket if you want.”
“no, no,” you say, taking his hand in yours. you’re not entirely surprised by how icy his hand is. “it’s okay."
honestly, you didn’t even realise you were staring at his hands so much.
you walk for about an hour around the dry land, the hazy red sky growing darker and darker the further from hades castle you are. you talk about many things. the topic of powers and abilities comes up.
"so what are your powers?” you ask beomgyu who is beginning to look antsy.
“if we stay out here any longer, you might find out,” he mumbles, his voice low.
“what do you mean?” you ask.
“we should turn back,” beomgyu tells you, his eyes narrowing as he glances around. “something’s not right. i can feel the dead nearby.”
“this is the underworld, beomgyu. everyone is dead.”
“yes, but they’re too close. something’s not right. let’s go.”
you frown but nod and let beomgyu pull you back in the direction of hades’ palace. you’re halfway there when a piercing screech sounds from above. a strong force suddenly knocks you into beomgyu and a sharp pain seers on your arm. a shocked exclaim jumps past your lips as you find three large gashes on your arm, blood pouring down.
“y/n,” beomgyu gasps, his arms catching you around your waist. he sees the blood too and his jaw clenches. he spots the cause of your injury just in time to pull you closer, out of its field of attack.
your heart rate doubles. “w-what-what-”
“a fury,” beomgyu growls, manoeuvring you behind his back.
holding your arm to stop the bleeding, you peek over his shoulder and see the ugly bat-winged monster circling back to your direction. it flies at full speed, baring its huge yellow fangs.
“stop!” beomgyu commands, his voice strong, deep and demanding.
to your surprise, the creature does, halting in mid-air, growling at beomgyu. it is now you recall just how powerful beomgyu must be. being a child of the big three (zeus, poseidon and hades) makes him indefinitely stronger and more powerful than the average demigod. even if hades wasn’t one of the big three, the kind of power he possesses is terrifying. the thought of beomgyu sharing some of those abilities…
beomgyu glares at the fury. “leave now before i banish you back to tartarus.”
the fury snarls.
“leave!” beomgyu yells, loud enough to make you flinch. he feels your movement and reaches back to grip your hand reassuringly.
with one last snarl, the fury flies away. beomgyu spins to you the moment it’s out of sight, his demeanour flipping as he cradles your arm in his hands.
“are you okay?” he asks quickly.
“not really,” you admit, shaking a little.
beomgyu inspects the large scratches and winces. “it’s too big for me to heal.”
he can heal? you think. it’s an odd concept considering he’s the son of death.
beomgyu stretches out his hand and makes an upward motion. a dark and opaque wall rises from the ground. he pulls you towards it. “let’s go.”
“wait, what is this?” you question.
he turns his head to you, the hint of a smirk on his lips. “shadow travel.”
❀⊱┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄
the night before your wedding, beomgyu knocks on your door to check on you as he didn’t see you today. he was visiting a friend because, while you are stuck here, beomgyu is free to come and go as he likes.
“how are you feeling?” beomgyu asks, sitting at the end of the bed. for once, he isn’t dressed up, instead donning a black plain tee and pair of sweatpants.
“i’m okay,” you tell him.
“that’s good.” he fiddles with the bed cover, avoiding your eyes. “i’m sorry.”
“it’s fine,” you say. “i can’t expect you to follow me around all day every day. you should see your friends too.”
“that’s not what i meant,” beomgyu says, his dark eyes taking on the sorrowful look he gets when he thinks you’re not looking. “although i’m sorry for that too now."
he takes a deep breath. "i meant that i was sorry for this. all of this. for my father dragging you down here. for our forced marriage. for making you unhappy, sick, lonely. i’m sorry for everything.”
“beomgyu… beomgyu look at me.”
he hesitantly meets your gaze and you see a tear sliding down his cheek.
“oh, beomgyu,” you sigh, leaning forward to wipe away the tear. “stop apologising.”
“but it’s true,” he says, his voice becoming rough and strained. “i know you don’t like it here. you don’t want to marry me. you’ve only been eating ambrosia for the past week but you still look half dead. you can’t even sleep at night. you-” his voice catches and he shakes his head, looking down.
you grab his hand and squeeze gently. “but it’ll get better once we’re married, right? i’ll have my energy back, i’ll be able to eat and sleep.”
“yes but that doesn’t change the fact that you don’t want this marriage,” beomgyu says. “i don’t want this marriage. i never asked for this, it was all my stupid father.”
“okay, you’re right,” you say. “i don’t want the marriage. but because i’m young, i’m unprepared, i have no say in it. i know you think i hate you but i don’t.”
beomgyu looks up again.
“i may hate the circumstances but i don’t hate you,” you say honestly. “at first, i did resent you, but i realised that this really isn’t your fault and that i shouldn’t hold your father’s actions against you.” you squeeze his hand again. “it’s not your fault. i don’t hate you. stop feeling sorry for me, okay? i’m fine, really.”
beomgyu nods. “okay.”
he’s silent, thinking, contemplating, processing.
you too have some thoughts on your mind. one thought actually. something that you’ve wanted to ask beomgyu the past few nights but never have, feeling too foolish. but seeing as you’ll be married to him tomorrow, you don’t see the harm in asking now.
“beomgyu,” you say quietly.
“yeah?”
“w-will you… will you please stay with me tonight?” you ask.
beomgyu’s ears flush bright red, the colour you’ve come to associate with his bashful and shy side.
“i think it’ll be easy to sleep if you do,” you continue. “will you?”
beomgyu needs a second to process your question but he eventually splutters, “yes.”
folding the blanket back for him, you shuffle over and lie down. beomgyu cautiously slides in beside you. he looks so stiff and awkward, it makes you smile a little.
“lie down,” you tell him and he does.
you take the initiative and cuddle up to him first, slotting yourself under his arm as you lay your head on his chest. immediately, you feel one hundred times better than you have all week. you feel safe and as though you can now breathe easy.
beomgyu finally relaxes, his arm looping around your shoulder, his hand slowly brushing over your hair.
the noises that usually keep you up at night fade away and sleep takes over. for the first time in almost two weeks, you have a good nights rest.
❀⊱┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄
when you wake in the morning, beomgyu is gone and a gorgeous women with long, flower adorned hair is carrying in a long black dress.
“you’re awake!” she says. “great. i’m persephone. i’ve heard you’re my half sister. it’s lovely to meet you. now let’s get you ready. you’re getting married today.”
you barely have time to process any of what the goddess has said before your being stuffed into the ebony gown. the silk body somehow fits you perfectly and the lace sleeves are the exact length of your arms.
the next half an hour is a blur as persephone styles your hair with a flower crown of red and white roses, clasps a chunky bejewelled choker around your neck and swipes red gloss on your lips and dark glitter on your eyes.
and suddenly you’re standing at the entrance of a large grecian temple with black marble pillars. beomgyu is standing at the other end of the temple on a raised platform. a… skeleton?… is standing near him, a large book in it’s bony hands. as you start walking towards beomgyu you vaguely wonder if you’re really about to be married by a skeleton.
to your right and left are rows of skeletons, odd creatures and the odd person who seems to be relatively alive. hades and persephone are in the front row.
the ceremony passes by in a flash. beomgyu holds your hands softly as the skeleton addresses the crowd of undead. he looks at you with more adoration than you knew was possible, but he never smiles. you slip gothic black rings onto each others fingers. he kisses your cheek. then the wedding is done.
afterwards, you and beomgyu take a walk in the garden again.
“how do you feel?” beomgyu asks you after a minute of silence.
“good,” you say, heading to a pomegranate tree.
“you look good,” beomgyu replies.
you smile over your shoulder at him. “thank you.”
“really,” he says. his eyes rake up your body. “not just the dress and everything, but your whole aura. you look alive again.”
you reach the tree and pick the closest fruit. “i suppose i’m allowed to eat this now, right?”
“if you’d like.”
“will you eat it with me?”
“okay.”
you find a bench to sit on. beomgyu picks a rock from the ground and, using a power you didn’t know he possessed, he transforms its shape to be sharp and pointed. he cuts the fruit with it and you eat in silence. you have to admit that it feels nice to be eating something other than ambrosia.
once the fruit is gone, you scoot a little closer to beomgyu and put your hand on his knee.
“you don’t seem happy, beomgyu,” you say. “what’s wrong?”
he sighs. “i don’t know. it’s just… i like you a lot. even more now then i did when i told my father about you. but i… i can’t be happy when you’re not.”
“who says i’m not happy.”
“well aren’t you?”
“i’m… unsure… i think i need some more time to fully process everything, but it could be worse.”
beomgyu scoffs quietly. “how could it be worse?”
“i might not be married to you.”
beomgyu almost flinches at your words, eyes going wide. “what?”
“like i said, i’m still a little conflicted but one thing that i’m certain about is my feelings for you.”
“and?”
you smile. “i like you.”
“r-really?"
"really. throughout this all, you’ve been so kind and gentle. you haven’t pressured me and you’ve made me feel as comfortable as possible. i really appreciate it and i can’t say that i haven’t grown to like you.”
amusingly, your words render beomgyu speechless so you add, “plus, being married to the son of hades is a bit of an ego boost, if i’m being honest.”
said son of hades smiles.
“you know, i’m pretty sure you didn’t kiss me properly earlier.”
“i didn’t think you’d want me to,” beomgyu admits sheepishly.
“well, i do, so…”
his smile turns to a cheeky grin as he cups your face in his hands. “may i kiss the bride?”
you grin too. “you may.”
Don’t miss the Yule Ball
Chapter 2
If there was anything to stop the girls from giving hopeful stares at Sirius, Remus would have done it. He was stuffing his porridge—not because he wanted to eat it for his breakfast—like he needed to, otherwise the world was going to be on fire. He scanned the girls around the Great Hall, murmuring ‘Sirius Black’, whipping their heads in all of the directions to find their target.
However, the target was sound asleep in his dorm because Remus came down quite earlier since he couldn’t sleep at night after witnessing Sirius’ awful sobbing. He had looked so vulnerable, and hopeless. Remus couldn’t stop himself from playing last night’s memory in his head, and how he had to keep a poker face while his insides were clenching. Sirius’ sobs had been hurting him like a physical pain since the night. He hadn’t known the best way to comfort him, so he had held him in his arms as tight as it was possible.
“Hey Remus!” He started a little to find Lily Evans smiling at him.
“Oh hi, Lils.” He smiled back, “What’s up?”
“Nothing, just thinking about tomorrow.” Her face was dissolving into something unreadable.
“The Yule Ball?” She nodded with a serious look, “You don’t have a date?” And she shook her head.
“Hey, Lils,” Remus squinted to look into her pained emerald eyes, “It’s okay. I also don’t have one. And I think it’s perfect! We can go together! It wouldn’t be weird at all.” He beamed up at her but soon his smile turned into frown because Lily was not at all thrilled with the idea.
“It’s not like I haven’t been asked, you know…” She began to play with her fruit salad.
“Who asked you?”
“James.” She smiled weakly. Remus thought for a second that his ears were deceiving him.
“I’m sorry, what?”
“Thatswhy…” She trailed off with a disappointed look, but he held her by her wrist.
“No, no, no. I just—you mean James? James Potter? My best friend James Potter?”
“No, my uncle James Potter.” She rolled her eyes, “Wait—I thought Sirius was James’ best friend?”
“Oh yeah, whatever. But you mean you want to go with him?”
“Is it really that weird, Remmy?” Remus melted on that look of hers. She so wanted to go with James, and at the same time James was going get lucky. He smiled genuinely at her.
“Lily, it is not at all weird. It’s like the opposite of weird.” Her smile stretched into a real one as she launched herself into his arms.
“God, Remus Lupin, your approval is all I needed. You’ll be the death of me.” They both laughed and held each other tighter.
And then, Remus’ eyes found Sirius walking stiffly to the table, alone. His eyes had bags under them, his hair were disheveled, as he slipped into the seat far away from Remus and Lily’s. Remus felt his stomach twist, and he untangled himself from Lily. She looked skeptically at him. By few eye contacts, he was able to communicate with her that he was worried about Sirius. She knew everything, including the fact he was a werewolf, the fact how he always had a crush on Sirius, and then fell in love with him, and the fact how Marauders fell apart because of the incident with Snape, and also the fact that even after forgiving Sirius, things were not going back to normal.
“Remus, it’s just that you guys stayed away from him for months, and things cannot just slip in the same old times in few days. It will take time.” She whispered to him.
“It’s not just that, Lily. He’s hurting. Like he is sick or something.”
“What do you mean?”
“He stopped in the middle of the crowd when we were heading back to the Tower after dinner. He was breathing hard. He was standing by the support of the railing of the staircase. And then I tried mending things with him, he cried—“ Remus felt like his heart was falling, “—like a lot, Lily.”
“Oh poor Sirius,” She said, eyeing Sirius sitting and staring at his breakfast, “Do you think he was having a panic attack or something?”
“Then why didn’t he tell me? Of all people, huh? He knows that I have a history with panic attacks. I know how to help!” Remus realized he was speaking louder.
“Honey, he already feel indebted after what he—I mean whatever happened between you two, maybe he didn’t want you to feel responsible for this…and you know he doesn’t take pity…”
“He is Sirius Black. He likes attention.” Remus instantly regretted his words.
“You and I, both know that’s only partly true.” Then they fell silent. Remus wanted to stand up and go straight to Sirius to hold him, kiss his head and tell him that everything was going to be okay. They were going to be okay. But then there was this fear, buried in the depth of his heart. He was scared, and the truth was that this fear was tearing them apart.
“Okay,” Lily sighed, looking very concerned, “What do you want?”
“Does that matter?”
“Of course, it matters! He loves you.”
“No, I don’t think so…”
“What!?” She gaped as if she had caught him saying a slur to her, “How can you say that? Sure, he did a mistake but that doesn’t justify the fact that he doesn’t love you anymore. Sirius is not like that!”
“I don’t know…I just I think he is better off without me, I guess? I just don’t want all of this for him. It’s too chaotic. He should move on, and just be my friend.”
“Remus,” She waited until our eyes were locked with each other, “I asked you what you want?”
Remus was out of words, suddenly.
Who said that he didn’t crave Sirius Black? Who said that he didn’t love him? Who said that he didn’t want him? He did. In fact, a lot. He wasn’t sure if he should be wanting him. Truth to be told, he wasn’t sure if he would be able to deal with their fierce relationship all over again.
Sirius was like fire, and Remus was less likely to be water all the time. He had tried shaping himself into one but sometimes it had been hard, because Sirius had been all over him. While they had been dating, Remus had lessened his reading in replacement to spend more time with him—not that he hadn’t enjoyed their time together but it had made him feel rusty. Sirius had always tried to sway him away from his studies. He had had the upper hand in their arguments because Remus had known that Sirius’ anger lasted hardly five minutes and then it dissipated into thin air, so he had always let him say mean things to him, not matter how bitter they had been to him. He’d gulp down everything, but the incident with Snape had not been worth swallowing down. Now that Remus was not with Sirius anymore, there were loads of time for him to study, read, be himself, and yet he was still feeling very useless.
No matter how many reasons Remus could list down to prove the disadvantages of being in relationship with Sirius, the opposite side of the list never failed to outweigh all of those drawbacks, and that was: He was unconditionally in love with him. And despite of everything, he was never going to stop loving him. And he knew that, but feelings also clouded decisions.
“We can only be friends,” He found Lily staring him with a resigned look, “I think I need to go.”
He stood up and walked out of the Great Hall because he felt suffocated. He loosened his tied to breathe properly, “How are you supposed to feel claustrophobic in the Great Hall?” He said under his breath because yes, that was a fun fact about Remus Lupin that he was a claustrophobic. It had taken him ages to get comfortable with physical interaction, and Sirius had been the one who had helped him.
Before he registered where he was walking to, he crashed into someone.
“Oh Merlin, I am sorry!” An unfamiliar female’s voice, “I am so, so sorry! Let me fix that for you.”
Remus didn’t even get the chance to know what needed fixing when his werewolf ears heard her whisper ‘Episkey’—
“OW!” Remus held his nose instinctively, and he found his fingers were soaking with blood.
“Scourgify.” She murmured that too, and his blood was gone. Remus finally focused his vision to find a brunette girl staring at him with big grey eyes—so like Sirius’, her yellow and black tie was there. Hufflepuff. He smiled at her. She had a beautiful smile, but not as dazzling as Sirius’.
“Hi, I’m Catherina Johnson, fifth year.” She held out her hand, and Remus took it.
“Nice to meet you, Catherina. I’m Remus Lupin, sixth year.”
“Oh, I know who you are,“ She smirked at him, “The smart one, and also the one every girl trying to steal for tomorrow.”
“Ha-ha,” Remus didn’t like taking compliments because he didn’t believe in them, “You must be mistaking me with Sirius Black.”
“Oh him, too! But hey Black is never a long-term material. We girls like guys like you, sweet and loyal…”
Remus felt so reminiscent. The girl was reminding him of Sirius. A lot. He huffed out a sarcastic guffaw.
“Looks like bumping into me was not a total coincident, was it?”
“Like I said, the smart one…” Catherina was an attractive girl, and cunning too, and Remus couldn’t say he didn’t her, “So, is that a yes then?” She was smiling, and Remus thought it was for the best.
“Yes, indeed.” He replied back.
