Suddenly remembered with that previous post I reblogged about a time I reblogged a post (or made a post I don't remember) referring to rpf and one of my followers went into the comments like "I hope this isn't condoning real person fiction : / it is actually really inappropriate and bad." I was like lol dw it is all in jest, but actually no. Who cares. At least as far as these people are concerned, they are major huge celebrities. They are not gonna care if I make some jokes about them kissing on tumblr.com. They have other things to worry about like idk being famous.

I was intrigued by the defense of Maya from people who read the manga, I also saw a screenshot of this scene with her fight with Taichi and I want to say as someone who doesn't know the manga, only the series: I feel like none of this scene from the manga was translated into the scene in the series except the words. The vibe, the atmosphere, they are completely different.
I won't go into detail about all the differences, I'll write about one, the main one, which I think explains everything:
Maya from the manga is agitated and you can see that she is angry on Kohei's behalf, but you can see some kind of… chivalry in her, as if she sincerely believes that she is defending Kohei, her attack is mean but also kind of "argumentative", as if she wanted Taichi to understand what she thinks he is doing wrong
Maya from the series behaves as if it was all about attacking Taichi and everything is laced with some kind of malice and unnecessary rudeness, her attack is aimed at insulting and belittling Taichi, to drive him away from Kohei
So it is quite possible that it is simply… the drama's fault and how they decided to show this character, without nuances, just as an ordinary bitch. Or maybe the same scenes just have a different tone on paper and different in a real life.
I may also be wrong about the vibe of this scene in both editions, because I haven't read the manga and I've seen comments from readers that they didn't like Maya in the manga and don't like her in the series. So idk, I'm just trying to understand what is going on in this series right now 😅
I also want to say that the fact that it's a girl doesn't matter at all, quite the opposite, there is general anger in the BL fandom that the girl has been made "the bad one" again, we're all tired of it, besides, it's already 2024, girls don't have to have to break up relationships and they don't have to be mean.
Overall, I have the impression that something went wrong with this character and in this episode.... It's weird when the fandom of a romantic series is on fire… with anger and hatred 😭

To clarify what I mean (and I promise I'll stop bothering you after this), you tagged a 318 words long fic with:
"Drabble Wordcount: 100-500 Wordcount: 100-1.000 Wordcount: Under 10.000 Implied/Referenced Character Death Canonical Character Death Past Character Death Arson Police Talking Pillow Talk Break Up Talk Implied Relationships Established Relationship Prison Europe Norway (Country) 1990s Alternate Universe - 1990s Jokes Bad Jokes Humor Attempt at Humor Some Humor Hurt/Comfort Emotional Hurt/Comfort Angst and Hurt/Comfort Hurt Emotional Hurt Light Angst Angst with a Happy Ending Ambiguous/Open Ending Hopeful Ending Fluff Domestic Fluff Romantic Fluff Cuddling & Snuggling Sleepy Cuddles True Love's Kiss Kissing Gentle Kissing Band Fic Love True Love Idiots in Love Dorks in Love First Love Friendship/Love Friendship Tags Are Hard I'm Bad At Tagging I'm Bad At Summaries I'm Bad At Titles POV Third Person Reader-Insert Reader-Interactive I Wrote This Instead of Sleeping Author Is Sleep Deprived"
The majority of these tags are clearly completely unnecessary.
Listen, I don't want to sound rude and you probably also don't pretend to be rude, but:
Yes, and? It's my fanfic and I tag it with the tags I want. If they bother you then just don't read them lmao it's as simple as that, but then if you or other person don't read them then y'all don't have the right to act surprised or disgusted by something I wrote.
As a reader I like them to have as many tags as they can so I can read them all and get a good idea of what I'm going to read, whether it's a drabble or a long-fic slow burn, so as a writer I do that.
If YOU think that putting a lot of tags is associated with being a bad writer and you consider some tags unnecessary, that's up to you, but I think that the fewer tags the worse and it's a symbol of laziness and little love for your work. Am I going to go to an author who does what I don't like and tell her to stop doing that jsut because I don't like it? No, girl.
Do whatever you want with your own fanfics if you post them on AO3, assuming that you maybe are also an author because if you don't then you don't have a right to complain. At least I don't go on other people's accounts anonymously and insinuate that they are bad writers because of the fucking tags they put on their fanfics.

So as part of making the chronological order video, obviously, I watched the bit in 1967 again. And I’m thinking, there’s an alternate reading of “you go too fast for me Crowley” here, right?
So first, the buildup. With new s2 canon, we’ve got both 1827 and expanded 1941 added to think about:
1827: Crowley got dragged to hell for doing something Good
1862: He returned 35 years later with a cane asking for a suicide pill
1941: (At least some of) The forces of Hell are looking for a reason to take Crowley back to Hell for further punishment
Crowley is also doing loads of things that are unsafe, even reckless. Aside from the Bad Idea Magic Trick, which is admittedly Aziraphale’s fault and didn’t seem to pose any danger to Crowley at the time, he’s also entering churches and trying to get holy water and getting mixed up with human criminals, and yes, driving recklessly — and his lot do not send rude notes; if he gets discorporated, Aziraphale’s got every reason to think he’s going to be tortured and may not be allowed to come back. He also thinks that if Crowley thinks he's going to be dragged back to Hell, he's going to kill himself first if he has the chance. Suicide pill: Permanent, finito, holy water destroyed. No coming back 50 years later, no coming back ever.
The full conversation, once the holy water is handed over, is:
C: Should I say thank you? A: Better not. C: Well, can I drop you anywhere? A: No, thank you. Oh, don't look so disappointed. Perhaps someday we could... I don't know. Go for a picnic, dine at the Ritz. C: I--I'll give you a lift. Anywhere you want to go. A: You go too fast for me, Crowley. [Leaves]
The usual reading here is that when Aziraphale says “you go too fast for me,” he means it in a relationship sense, that giving a lift would be taking things to the next level in some romantic sense. This is a very fun and romantic reading, but it doesn’t quite sit right with me for what I think is actually happening on Aziraphale’s side of the conversation.
What I think Aziraphale means is “You’re too reckless, and I can’t keep up with you," and “I don’t want to be thanked for bringing you your death.”
And he comes as close as he ever does to telling Crowley what he actually does want — he wants to sit together, enjoy each other’s company over good food and good wine. He tells Crowley exactly what invitations he will accept from him in the future. And then he leaves, cutting off their dance, drawing a clear boundary.
I think to Aziraphale, he’s just said as clearly as he can. “Stop putting yourself in so much unnecessary danger, Crowley; it hurts me to see you like this."
Whether that's what Crowley actually heard, however, well. Either way, he does eventually take his angel to the Ritz.

genuine question: do you guys not think it's incredibly unhealthy to sit online speculating about literal strangers' sexualities all day? do y'all not see how grossly disrespectful that is just as a general concept? these are people none of you have EVER met or spent ANY actual personal time with. they don't know you and therefore have never disclosed details about their romantic life bc it isn't your business??? what gives ANY OF YOU the right to hyper analyze everything they do to attribute it to their sexuality? i'm trying to understand how you all could possibly say you love them but don't have enough respect for any of them to simply be fans of their music and leave this weird ship at the door. y'all hyperanalyze all their body language to confirm they're in love but ignore them mentioning how the comments section is never fun to look at (bc it's ALWAYS just shippers being stupidly unhinged) and the very obvious discomfort the shipping shit brings them. most of you shippers are straight women fetishizing. most of you shippers are larries who jumped ship when 1d disbanded. most of you are grown adults who need to get offline and get real hobbies that don't involve breaking down the potentiality of sexuality for people you literally don't know personally. how do all of you have so much audacity and so much time to think half-critically but no time at all to introspect on the level of sheer delusion you have to willfully exist in to perpetuate this narrative shamelessly? this is so sick. how do y'all not feel awful about all the blatant, obvious, perceivable stress you shippers cause them? why can’t y'all behave like actual people with empathy and ethics?
Hi anon!
You are not sending me a genuine question. If that had been your aim you would’ve worded your ask differently. I also wonder if you send asks like this to blogs and accounts who talk and speculate about their relationships with women.. because if you are not actually being homophobic right now.. that would be the same.
I understand the delicacy in this. Except for the part of tour ask that seems homophobic (and plain rude and extremely biased on many accounts) I can even understand you wanting people to stay out of their private business to some level. You want to protect them from harm and I very much applaud that, even though I think your reasoning is faulty in some ways. It is for instance nothing new or weird for fans to care for and be interested in the private lives of artists. It’s something that the artists themselves and their labels/companies also know and at times even feed into. It’s basically inherent to the fan/artist situation. It’s just human nature to be interested in things like this.. is that bad? I don’t know if a word like bad or good applies here.. it’s just human to me.
You look at all shippers and their ways as the same. I think there’s many different kinds of shippers. There’s definitely those that go way too far. People should never confront members themselves with these things. Don’t go in their comments with Taekook or Jkk mentions. Don’t bring banners to concerts, just.. don’t. Not to blow my own horn.. but I would never! Also the constant searching for proof in the tiniest things… it’s so unnecessary and it makes people look crazy and (!) it takes away from the seriousness that this situation brings with it. Which brings me to my reason for talking about this.
Aside from thinking Tae and Jk are super cute and adorably in love, there’s the underlying issue of queerness still not being socially accepted in so many places all around the world. I think it’s important to talk about these things (even as a straight adult, because the more people talk about these things.. the more influence we have in making things better for the future). If no one was to ever talk about celebrities being closeted or closeting in general.. there would be no progress. I am fairly sure about what I have seen between Tae and Jk.. I am also fairly sure that they are not ashamed about their queerness. That is why I talk about this. I feel I am doing this in a respectful way. There’s things I do not discuss (sexual stuff) because I feel that’s in general not useful for the conversation.
I am not willing to take responsibility for other Tkkrs behavior though. I talk about things for myself and for my own reasons. I like to think everyone is able to think for themselves and be responsible for the way they interact in fandom. I am my own person though.. I do not rile up Tkkrs to go leave annoying comments anywhere.
Mostly though.. I am talking about love, anon. The difference between you and me is that to you them being straight is the default and to me it is not. Your ‘speculation about sexuality’ feels harmful to me.. because it’s love that we talk about.. I really hate the notion that there’s a difference between same sex love and straight love for you.

rant about the Monster High live action movie, because i watched it last night (includes spoilers)
ok, so i did not like it.
first of all, it's a musical -- what was the point in that??? it just seems like they were trying to fill in gaps, like they didn't know how to get some things across so they just sang it i will admit the dances were pretty good, but i feel like it was just unnecessary there was one decent scene that was more musical-y that i liked (it's between Deuce and Clawdeen, and only them) but other than that i didn't like the singing parts at all
now about the characters Frankie: in the og monster high, she's female, but in this she has they/them pronouns there are multiple scenes where she doesn't know what a high five is, but she knows about gender??? Ghoulia: changed her entirely, like she cant even speak in the og movies, but now she can?? and the way she acts is not accurate to her character at all also in the og movies she's essentially best friends with Cleo, but now they barely even talk to each other?? Draculara: changed her entire personality, at the start of the movie she's all antisocial and pretty rude - she is not like that at all, she's more like a social butterfly in the og's, and i don't like that they changed her that much also she's a witch, for some reason??? Clawdeen: first off, she's part monster and part human, which is not accurate at all i get that it was necessary for certain plot points, but that doesn't mean its good also she's now an only child? what the hell happened to Clawde, he was one of the best characters in the og movies, and without him there would be no one for Draculara (i loved their relationship) Lagoona: ignoring the fact that she had barely any lines (maybe five, throughout the 90min movie) she's best friend with Cleo??? no, just no, in the og movies she doesn't like Cleo at all, and i absolutely hate that they made them "beasties" Deuce: he was actually one of the more accurate characters, and the actor who played him fit the role really well the only thing i don't like about him, was the whole thing he had going on with Clawdeen - they're meant to be 'together', and i really don't like that dynamic if they were just like close friends, that would work but i don't like them being in a romantic relationship other than that, the characters were pretty good, except for a few of my faves that got maybe three lines throughout the entire movie (namely, Heath) i will admit that the character designs were great (as in clothing), and so was the outside of Monster High
the main antagonist in this is a monster known as Hyde's kid, who is pretending to be a teacher (Hyde, as in 'Jekyll and Hyde', wherein Jekyll is the human half while Hyde is the monster half), while i do like the incorporation of Jekyll and Hyde in this, i feel like they could've done it a lot better they made Hyde a scientist, which i'm pretty sure isn't accurate, they did however have a potion Hyde made that makes you completely monster (if you have a human part), which would essentially get rid of the Jekyll side of him, which (based on what I know about him - not much) I do think he would do I mainly liked this because you pretty much don't see any sort of mention of 'Jekyll and Hyde' in modern day media, so it was pretty nice to see this (however badly, it was portrayed)
the ending was good, in the sense that Clawdeen got accepted as one of the monsters, but bad in the way that it set up for a sequel that focuses on Draculara's witchiness it gives the feeling that they knew the movie was gonna be a hit and that a lot of people would watch it, even if it isn't accurate to the og monster high movies at all
all in all, plot was decent, sets were pretty good (except whenever Draculara was using a cauldron), characters and the relationships between them need some work. probably a 4/10, wouldn't recommend unless you're watching it to make fun of it, or didn't like the og Monster High movies

Hi! could i request a omega Daki x Alpha reader smutty were reader is just incredibly protective of Daki and sometimes loses it but Daki both loves the attention and loves that she can actually calm the reader down?
by @gayforthem
Hello! Thank you very much for the request, and don't forget to drink water!
enjoy reading~❤️
Omegaverse AU: omega! Daki x alpha! Reader [NSFW🔞]
"Your"
Tumblr media
warnings: modern au, kinda dark omegaverse (mention of murder), heavy petting (masturbation), mention of oral sex, mention of marking.
omega fem character x alpha (aggressive) gender neutral reader
Daki was popular.
Sometimes it felt as if every time she walked into a room, everyone stopped doing their own thing to look at her.
Daki was a bright and damn attractive omega, and she knew it. With all her bright makeup, elegant clothes, and arrogant, warm smile.
And with that cute expression she made whenever someone (usually a "fan") bothered her, but not enough to make her really angry.
She waved at them sweetly and wrapped her arms around your arm, throwing eloquent glances at your face without even looking back.
Daki lived for your reaction.
Nothing too rude — she was satisfied with your irritated face when someone clung to her, or the ostentatious indifference when another alpha tried to "seduce" her (as if they could hope for something), or the cold when someone asked if you were her alpha.
As if the mark on her neck wasn't a telling enough sign. Or that she didn't leave your side.
Or the way you looked at everyone who bothered her.
"Don't touch her"
Daki watched curiously as you tightly gripped the other alpha's hand and gently held her to you. Not that she enjoys your jealousy...
Well, she enjoyed your jealousy.
"Touch her again", you gripped the other's hand even tighter, "and I'll chew out your too-long arms, as well as your brain, which apparently isn't there. Got it?"
You're not exactly aggressive.
If you were an unbalanced type of alpha, you wouldn't be able to be a couple with her for so long.
You were just annoyed when others touched your omega.
Even if she could protect herself.
"You shouldn't have been so aggressive", Daki later whispers seductively, clinging to your clothes as you stand in a dark corner of the club, out of the bright artificial light. "Everyone knows I'm your omega. They wouldn't dare claim me"
Everyone knows you're her alpha. Only for some reason they ignore it.
Probably because if an omega smells like an alpha, it's not a sign that the omega is "marking"
What an abomination.
You looked seriously at your girlfriend, who cocked her head to one side, hanging on your every word.
So cute when she's not trying to play on your instincts.
"I'm not acting this way because of aggression against another alpha. I'm acting like this because no one can touch you without permission... Do you understand? Nobody. Even me"
If you weren't in public, Daki would purr like an affectionate cat. You have already seen, even through the gloom, how contentedly she smiled.
The color of your favorite lipstick glistened in the faint light from the dance floor.
"And if anyone does that, or otherwise interferes with you, I officially declare that I will bite their throat out"
"And if they looks?"
"I'll suck their eyes out of their sockets. Don't underestimate me, babydoll"
Daki lifts up to kiss you on the lips, wrapping her fingers around your neck. More likely to strangle than let go.
When she pulls away, the light is surprisingly reflected in her amorous eyes. Running her hand through your hair, she gently touches it, smiling coquettishly.
"Never♡"
This corner seems to be getting too lit up. And crowded. Sometimes your girlfriend's popularity is a little tiring.
Daki falls silent, relaxing in a warm embrace, unusually silent and thoughtful. you look below out of habit, expecting to see a white collar preventing a mark, but instead you see a bare neck with half a necklace hanging from it.
The other part is hanging around your neck.
"It's getting late", you gently wrap your arms around Daki's waist, which is easy to handle, though knowing her by day she would try to playfully pull away. "And not safe for cute, sleepy omegas. Let's go home"
"Is it really that unsafe to have their strong and brave alphas around?" Daki responded playfully, smiling. "Let me see... no?♡"
"Daki..."
The girl responded with a shrug and a flirtatious wink, squeezing your hand.
"Convince me that we need to go home"
At least she's never boring.
"Safer at home?"
"No, more boring at home! But what about the people? Dancing? Communication?"
You took a deep breath, and omega just giggled.
"Can we cuddle at home?"
"... perhaps..."
"At home, we'll watch some TV shows and relax?"
Daki averted her brooding gaze, pausing before looking at you coquettishly, smiling.
"Okay, we can go home if you don't like clubs so much..."
👑🌟
The walk home was quieter than you originally thought.
"Daki, don't run on the ice, you'll fall"
"Daki, your lips are blue. Maybe you'd better wear my clothes?"
"Daki, hold on to me, please. It's safer and warmer"
"[Y/n], I'm not a little girl!"
"Of course not"
In the end, Daki agreed to hide in your clothes, and "led the way" while you slowly followed her, trying not to step on her feet.
You walked in silence, which was interrupted only by short questions "are we going there for sure?" and "yes, I know, I know!". Daki gave you long looks from time to time, the meaning of which you did not understand, but decided not to ask, guessing what thoughts appeared in her head.
"Don't leave my side, dear. I've heard that there are aggressive dogs here"
"Like I might want to get away from my warm alpha, mmm"
👑🌟
It was much more comfortable at home than at the club. There were no bright lights, no strange smells, no annoying alphas that you would love to chew through an artery if they came after your omega again.
What a joy that the law does not regulate this issue in any way.
Like the question of killing alphas by omegas when they want to abuse an omega.
You looked at Daki, who, in her favorite pink sweater (your birthday present, before you even thought about starting a relationship), was looking for something interesting in a box of CDs, her head pressed against your shoulder. Bending her legs in only short socks, Daki spent a long time sorting through the disks, dissatisfied with throwing unnecessary ones.
"How about we watch this?" there was a disk in front of your face that you didn't recognize. "Something romantic... or a melodrama... Just right for this evening!"
👑🌟
The film was not bad. Not too original, but atmospheric. With songs, winter and "Christmas miracle".
Putting your arm around Daki's waist, you pressed your lips to the mark, not being too interested in the plot. Daki gave you playful glances, but to the last played hard to get, ignoring your courtship.
After kissing her neck, you slowly put your hand on her knee, watching her reactions. Daki only snuggled closer to you, giggling for a moment as you gently ran your fingers along her thigh before returning to the film, "ignoring" you.
However, it definitely became harder for her to ignore you as your fingers gently traced the inside of her thigh, very close to her panties.
A slight blush appeared on her face.
Bringing her legs together and holding your hand between her thighs, Daki gave you a hot look before tilting her head forward, submissively baring the neck you pressed your lips to.
Daki hated it when you bit her.
👑🌟
Even after the credits ended, you continued to sit, using the light from the black, unplugged screen.
You felt very warm from the warmth of your girlfriend and the faint, sweet smell that made you feel a little dizzy. Daki, on the other hand, was much less sleepy — although she didn't stop fidgeting all through the movie, squeezing your hand, and now she was breathing heavily, digging her nails into your hands, but she was silent, thinking about something.
The pain was mild and bearable, but unpleasant.
Suddenly getting out, Daki pulled you towards her, once again starting to smile coquettishly, hinting at a surprise.
And when her back hit the floor, she grabbed the sweater and pulled it up. Smiling cheekily, she raised an eyebrow at your reaction.
"Isn't that what you wanted, my love? Watch a movie and relax? Your omega is ready for anything♡"
It was hard to deny that now, lying under you, with her cheeks so rosy and her expression so confident, she didn't look... attractive.
Very attractive.
"And? Why are you only looking? My breasts are waiting♡"
And grabbing your head, Daki confidently placed it on her chest while continuing to smile cheekily. One hand clutching the clothes on your back, the other she placed on your head, stroking, watching you.
Daki has always been a warm body, but you doubted that now you will want to fall asleep again. Although, her breasts were a great place to sleep — soft, with large, pink nipples that she once wanted to pierce.
Some pink jewelry would look great. In addition, you could play with the piercing — wrap your lips and gently pull. Or, if it's rings, you could come up with something about light chains.
Considering how masochistic Daki was, she would have liked that. As long as you don't tell her to obey you outside of bed.
"Hey, [Y/n]?" whispered Daki, continuing to stroke your hair as you gently played with her breasts, squeezing and rubbing to hear her moan, "I love you"
You stopped, looking from her breasts to your girlfriend.
"What are you looking at?" said Daki excitedly, still patting you on the head. "I mean... look, even if you threaten to hit the other alphas, or, you know, kill them, I appreciate it. I know I'm acting like I don't like it, but I don't. It's kind of nice"
You were still looking at your girlfriend, which made her even more embarrassed.
"Okay! Good! It turns me on when you act like a bossy alpha! All right?! Stop staring like that! This is normal for omega!"
Grabbing the nipple, you pulled slightly, causing Daki to suddenly moan, spreading her legs for you.
You immediately moved your hand lower, gently stimulating through the thin, already wet panties, to which Daki abruptly squeezed your hair, trying to grip your hand tighter.
You pressed harder, indulging your girlfriend, moving your fingers more roughly, as if you were trying to tear your panties and get inside.
But your pressure was interrupted by Daki, pulling you and aggressively kissing you on the lips, not allowing you to pull away, with the second hand trying to caress you to those places that she could reach.
She swung her leg over your hip and pulled you back, panting and shivering.
"I love you too, my Queen"
It was even wetter between her legs, and the completely wet panties made it easier for you to slide over her labia, but prevented her from having an orgasm. Even the faint touch of her clit, though it sent a shiver of pleasure through her body, only made her tease harder.
"Damn it, just rip it off me already!" she whispered, trying to kiss you again, "or I'm about to bring myself to orgasm"
"Who can make you better than yourself?"
"Damn, I hate you!"
👑🌟
There was something cute about how red Daki was, biting the edge of her sweater and masturbating in front of you.
With ringing, squelching sounds, then penetrating inside with her fingers, caressing herself from the inside, then taking them out, stroking her labia, she purred charmingly while you stimulated her wet clit.
The performance, consisting of her reaction and sounds, was delightful.
Arching, she trembled, her mouth open and her legs clenched sharply, blocking your view. You only began to caress more slowly, feeling a strong tremor, continuing until she again spread her legs.
Slipping down to you, Daki clung trustingly to your shoulder, wet and shivering.
"You see", you began gently, massaging the girl's back, "you're doing just fine on your own, like a big girl"
The bite on the shoulder looked more like a symbol of embarrassment and indignation than defiance. Especially with that sweet, red face she tried to hide from you.
"Shut up", Daki said, catching her breath. "Shut up and get on the couch. And take off your clothes. We're not done yet"
"Oops?"
"My mouth isn't just made to rip out your opponents' throats and bite you if you didn't know it"

Hmm ok. You know how people talk about friends and possible romantic interests "playing games" with dms? Or liking posts on face of book or Insta or some shit? Like... "don't message them back right away you'll seem desperate" "leaving him on Read to make him Wonder" "I will carefully create a Persona they like to get them to go on a date with me... then slowly lower it as time goes on". You know. That kinda shit? Manipulative, toxic behavior being mainstream?
(And I call it this because it creates a system of Bad Faith. They didn't answer right away because they don't like me," rather than the other being busy "they left me on Read cause I'm cringy and dumb" rather than the other getting interrupted and not getting a chance to respond. The culture encourages and thrives on people seeing Read and Sent notifications amd taking them in bad faith of the person they're talking to).
Well I seriously wonder how much of that culture is cultivated from interaction models on social media. It's considered cringy, rude, and even creepy to look too far back on someone's insta (and for some people, apparently a few months is "too far"???). It gives you sent and read notifs, shows posts based on popularity, and, not even going into influencer bullshit, has a pretty toxic culture overall (I dont THINK it's worse than Twitter tho? I wouldn't know).
Twitter only shows you posts if you regularly interact with the blog, which, Considering the Troll nature of the internet, is something I am POSSITIVE fed the Bad Faith Culture of twitter. It's also considered Impolite to spam a page with likes. In spite of interaction models, I guess?
Facebook is a passive aggressive hellscape almost no matter what. Relationship status having "its complicated" is an unnecessary feature at best and downright manipulative at worst.
Tiktok, ironically, I want to say is the least guilty here (with the tradeoff of being the most insidious towards indoctrination via just, really fucking "good" interaction models for finding content it thinks you'll like) but I'm skewed by personal bias, cuz the sides of tiktok I was on are most CERTAINLY people who are from tumblr (more on this later).
And, a LOT of those "Unspoken Rules Of Use", translate directly in meaning to DM games.
I do not at all understand those games. I look at messages in good faith. I also never used many of those sites for long. My main social media is and has always been tumblr, which I've only recently realized has the potential to be the single chillest Social media site ever, IF you curate correctly and don't start shit. I'd like to think I've stuck by those rules.
Almost no one cares if you spam their likes or reblogs. When people are posting irl personal stuff, no one cares abt "stalking". Mutuals will leave each other on read for days or months before responding like it was only 5 minutes.
I seriously wonder how much of that manipulation culture, in the digital world specifically, has stemmed from interaction algorithms, and their respectively cultivated culture on different websites.

Heres a Thread of Anime Recommendations Because Friends Always Ask:
To start with, these are just my opinions and I haven’t watched every anime in the world. So if you have other recommendations, add them!
BEGINNER ANIMES: Most beginner animes I particularly like are pretty long (100-300 episodes) but I have a few that are not. I genuinely don't remember the first anime I watched, but these are my recommendations
Naruto/ Naruto Shippuden: Naruto and Naruto Shippuden pretty much go together for me. Naruto doesn’t start out the best, a lot of the characters turn you off because they are either really whiny or just all broody which isn’t particularly my cup of tea, but by around episode 20 (the start of the Konoha Crush arc) you are HOOKED. Naruto Shippuden, on the other hand, is good from the start and is (in my opinion) why I still love the series as a whole to this day. Naruto was one of my first anime, so I will always have a special place in my heart for it.
PROS:
Great characters
Excellent character development
Awesome plot
Lots of action (once you get into it)
Fight/background music is great
Comes in dubbed and subbed
CONS
Not the best theme songs (not a problem for me in particular but I didn’t want to leave that out)
Fight scenes are pretty long
Long series in general
Tons of filler episodes
Inconsistencies
Helpful Hint: Look up the filler episodes if you watch this series. It makes the series a lot shorter and saves you from bullshit plots plots that don’t particularly add to the story
Hunter x Hunter (2011): I haven’t finished this series yet and haven’t gotten that far into it, but I really like it so far. The whole plot is interesting and easy to follow and just a wholesome show in general.
PROS
(as I mentioned earlier) Easy to follow
Great characters
Shorter fight scenes
Interesting plot
Currently releasing dubbed and the voice actors aren’t Shit are perfect for the characters
Good background music *cues spanish guitar*
Good fight scenes
CONS
A Relatively long series (not a bad thing but you just have to invest a lot of time into it)
Hard to get hooked (the first arc is slow)
Constant hiatus
Chimera Ant arc dragged on for too long
Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood: Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood is genuinely one of the best animes I ever watched. Everything about this show is great and I cant give it enough love.
Pros
Fights were perfect length
Characters are likeable (even a lot of the villains to be honest)
Good character development
Not an obscene amount of romance (I’m looking at you, Sword Art Online)
Plot is great
Perfect show length
Subbed and dubbed
CONS
The First Episode is Slightly Confusing
Pokemon: I watched this show when I was a kid, either Naruto or this show was probably my first anime but I’m not sure. It’s a pretty good show but isn’t my favorite of all time. I still think it’s a good start into the anime world, though
PROS
Genuinely funny characters
The pokemon weren’t “boring”– They had personalities of their own and made the show a lot more entertaining at times
Great movies
Antagonists are charismatic
Dubbed and subbed
Nostalgic
CONS
Plot is pretty basic
Boring at times
The newer seasons aren’t that good
Fights aren’t that great
Characters weren’t that complex
Overrun (in my personal opinion)
Quite long
Attack on Titan: I genuinely liked Attack on Titan for a long time before cancerous fans started polluting my feed. I still watch it (I haven’t watched all of season 2 yet, though, oops) and I do really like the show. I just some of the toxic fans.
PROS:
Good plot
Fights aren’t drawn out usually
Great plot
Dubbed and subbed
Still coming out
Amazing art
Good opening
CONS
Eren (the main character) comes off as an Asshole is angry 90% of the time (which is understandable, but annoying)
Mikasa (the main characters friend) is very whiny
A lot of the character’s you see all the time are really underdeveloped
Many fans are toxic
Takes a long time for new Seasons to come out
HONORABLE MENTIONS IN THIS CATEGORY (aka stuff I haven’t watched/ watched a lot of but everyone “raves” about
Dragon Ball Z
One Punch Man
Assasination Classroom
One Piece
Madoka Magica
SCI-FI/PSYCHOLOGICAL HORROR: I personally haven’t watched a lot of psychological horror/sci-fi even though I want to. This is probably because my life has been consumed with rewatching animes I have been watching other stuff instead. Anyhow, here are my favorites:
Death Note: I love this anime a lot. The plot, the characters, the everything. I haven’t watched it in a couple of years, but is for sure on my top 10 list even still today.
PROS
Great character development
Great plot
Makes the watcher think
Intense
Dubbed and subbed
CONS
Normal Length (about 40 episodes)
Some of the characters are annoying (by some I mean one in particular)
Complex plot (not a con for me but a lot of people prefer easy-to-follow anime)
Dubbed voice actors don’t really go with the characters (also not a problem for me because I usually prefer subbed over dubbed)
First episode doesn’t “hook” you in
Parasyte: I haven’t watched a lot of this show so I cant particularly criticize it as much as the others just because I haven’t watched the whole thing. But from what I’ve watched, it seems like a decent show.
Pros:
Decent length
Interesting plot
Pretty easy to follow
Good character development
Subbed and dubbed
“Hooks” you in quite easily
Opening is a bop
Cons
I don’t have any huge cons about it so far, all I could really say is that its “gruesome” but then again I haven’t watched a sci-fi/psychological horror one that isn’t like that
Tokyo Ghoul: Another anime I haven’t finished, but I have read a lot of the manga and do genuinely enjoy the show. It has all of the elements I like in a show and more. I just haven’t watched enough of it because I am already watching 2 anime’s and don’t want to completely flunk out of college.
PROS
Great plot
Characters are interesting
Easy to follow
Subbed and dubbed
Decent length
CONS
Dubbed isn’t the best
First episode was pretty fast paced
HONORABLE MENTIONS:
Cowboy Bebop
Steins;Gate
Psycho-Pass
Code Geass
ROMANCE/SLICE OF LIFE ANIME: I feel like these go hand and hand. A lot of these could go under a “fantasy” tab but I honestly haven’t watched a lot of fantasy that weren’t also “romance” or “sci-fi”. This tab is going to show how hopelessly romantic I am, oh my God.
Also, keep in mind most of these will be relatively short (12-24 episodes) just because
Nijiiro Days: This genuinely is such a funny and great slice-of-life anime. The friendship and the different personalities of the guys in this show is so great. I watched it earlier this year, and it has become one of my favorite slice-of-lifes of all time.
PROS
Funny
Decent length
Characters are interesting
Easy to follow
Not the typical “romance” anime (theres not a bunch of unnecessary drama, no unreasonable jealousy, etc)
Wholesome
 CONS
Can feel a bit repetitive at times
There isn’t a lot of “character development”: most of the characters stay the same
Hanasaku Iroha: I haven’t watched all of this show, but I love it so far. It’s unlike any slice- of life I’ve seen before. Theres not a huge amount of romance in it, it’s mostly about the the relationships the main character develops throughout the show.
PROS
Funny
Decent characters
Interesting plot
Not a stereotypical “slice of life anime”
Decent length
Great art
Wholesome
CONS
Subbed only
Isn’t an anime you can binge
Some of the characters are assholes rude to the main character for genuinely no reason other than jealousy
Nana: A great romance anime that leaves you in shambles. It has some great bops in it. It takes everything you thought you knew about romance anime and completely turns it around and makes you wonder “why?”
PROS
Interesting
A lot more realistic than most romance animes
Dubbed and subbed
Good music
Decent characters and character development
CONS
Can feel repetitive at the beginning
First few episodes aren’t that great
Makes Rethink Everything you Once Thought About Love
A lot of jealousy
Durarara!: I watched this anime early last year and really liked it. I have to admit that I didn’t like the second season as much as the first, but it was all really interesting to me. I didn’t know if this was considered sci-fi or romance, but I decided to put it under this category anyways.
PROS
 Hooks you in easily
Funny
Action-packed
Characters are interesting
Has some character development
CONS
Some episodes are quite boring/uneventful
Second season isn’t that great
Ao Haru Ride: Not my favorite anime of all time, but still deserves to be on the list. It’s genuinely the typical School Romance Anime. I bet a lot of people would like this series, I think I didn’t like it because I went through a breakup right before watching this series.
PROS
Characters have decent backstories
Art is pretty
Average length
Funny
Cons
Characters can be quite annoying and are pretty “typical” people
So much unnecessary jealousy
Feels drawn out
Kaichou wa Maid Sama: I walked into this anime expecting not to really like it, and was pleasantly surprised.  I honestly thought it was going to be lolita trash but it was so much more. I love the manga and wished that they made the whole manga into an anime, but, alas, you cant always get what you want.
PROS
Wholesome
Makes you scream because of how cute it is
Great plot
Enjoyable
Hilarious
Dubbed and subbed
Not the stereotypical “romantic comedy”
CONS
Not the whole series
Dubbed isn’t great
The main Character can come off as annoying
Yona of the Dawn: I loved Yona of the Dawn, other than the fact Pierrot didn’t do the whole manga. Because of this, I recommend reading the manga after you finish the 24 episode series, because so much more happens.
PROS
Decent length
Subbed and dubbed
Great plot
So much action
Action sequences don’t take up an entire episode
Easy to get hooked on
Adorable as a whole
Great art
CONS
Not all of the dubbed actors fit the characters
Not the whole manga (by “whole” I mean all thats been currently released)
Antagonist has a stupid reason for going after the protagonist (in my opinion)
Ended the series without a great conclusion
Kamisama Kiss: I also wasn’t expecting great things from this, I thought looking at it that it was kind of strange because it’s literally a fox human, but my friend made me watch it, and I was blown away. This series made me cry more times than I care to admit. The whole series as a whole is just magnificent.
PROS
Great plot
Really sweet
Unique
Warms your heart
Funny
Dubbed and Subbed
Dubbed actors are perfect for the characters
Easy to binge
Although it’s not the whole series, it concludes at a good spot
CONS
First episode doesn’t hook you in
Not the whole series
Snow White with the Red Hair: I watched this series earlier this year and really enjoyed it. I only had a few issues with it as a whole, and they are just minor things. If you are interested in fantasy and romance, you should start with this or Kamisama Kiss.
PROS
Relatively short
Great characters
Excellent art
Warms your heart
Easy to binge
Dubbed and subbed
Dubbed voice actors fit the characters perfectly
Easy to binge
CONS
Some of the Episodes aren’t Interesting
Not the whole series (I recommend reading the manga)
Ends without any real conclusion
Lovely Complex: Lovely Complex has a special place in my heart as the first romantic comedy I watched at age 12. I’ve rewatched it once when I was 14, and let me tell you, if you romantic comedy, this is it. I don’t think I’d like it as much if I rewatched it now, but it still deserves to be on the list because it has a special place in my heart.
PROS
Funny
Really sweet (when you get farther in to the series)
Easy to binge
Relatively short
CONS
Characters can come off as whiny
So much unnecessary drama
Doesn’t “hook” you in per se
Characters are pretty bland
Toradora!: I wasn’t amazed with Toradora!, I did like it though. Toradora! is just a run-of-the-mill romantic comedy I’d probably watch in middle school. Although it didn’t stand out in my life, I think a lot of people would still like it, and I have to give it credit where credits due.
PROS
Short in length
Easy to binge
Hilarious
Sweet
Dubbed and subbed
CONS
Typical romantic comedy story
Characters aren’t that interesting to me
So much unnecessary drama
Unreasonable Jealousy
Your Lie in April: Such a great show. Like genuinely I am amazed how unique and bittersweet this whole show was. I watched this last year on a whim and by the ending I was shocked and crying.
PROS
Excellent art
Excellent music
Great plot
Realistic
Some interesting characters
Hooks you in
CONS
Some characters personalities are kind of bland
Isn’t good to binge (please, trust me, take it slow, or else you’ll contemplate the show for too long)
There are some episodes that are kind of meh if you don’t particularly like music  if you don’t like music, this show is not for you
Kimi ni Todoke: Really a pretty sweet show. I liked that the minor characters and main character a lot more than the main characters love interest. The show, all in all, is pretty good if you’re looking for something basic to watch.
PROS
Easy to follow
Decent length
Funny
Decent plot
CONS
A few of the characters are bland
Pretty generic
Second season is just a bunch of drama
Tonari No Kaibutsu-kun: I think I watched this pretty soon after Lovely Complex. Decent show, all in all, just a few issues with it. It reminds me a lot of Toradora!.
PROS
Easy to follow
Average length
Funny
Some interesting characters
CONS
Generic plot
A lot of unnecessary jealousy
A lot of drama
Main character and love interest get annoying at times
Say “I love you”:  This was a decent show. I really liked it when I first watched it, but didn’t really like it the second time. I feel like most romantic animes you can only watch once, then it kind of loses its charm.
PROS
Easy to follow
Gets straight to the point
Wholesome
Warms your heart
Most of the girls in the show are really realistic
CONS
Relationship is unrealistic (but we can dream, right?)
Guys in the show are pretty bland
A lot of unnecessary drama
Generic Plot
Silver Spoon: Silver Spoon is a slice-of life anime that I went into with no real expectations. I honestly just chose to watch it because it was the only thing I found interesting on netflix at the time and decided to watch it on a whim. Let me tell you, this is genuinely one of my favorite slice-of-life animes of all time. The characters are great, the plot is great, and I honestly can’t believe it doesn’t get more attention.
PROS
Not that long
Unique
Great plot
Funny
Interesting characters
CONS
Hard to get in to
Takes a while to get hooked
Ouran Highschool Host Club: I didn’t know if I should put this under the romantic comedy section, but it for sure has comedy. This show sounds extremely weird when you read the summary, I know, but trust me, it’s hilarious. I genuinely love this show and it’s characters with all my heart and wish they made more of it.
PROS
Average length
Hilarious
Great characters
Great plot
Can honestly watch any episode of the series in any order and get the same result (minus the 1st and last 3)
Theme song is a bop
Hooks you in easily
CONS
Not the whole series
Can feel a bit repetitive at times
Not the best conclusion
HONORABLE MENTIONS
Princess Jellyfish
Spice and Wolf
Orange
Fruits Basket
Clannad
Kokoro Connect
Sorry this is so long! I didn’t realize how many animes I thought were decent. I’ll make a separate thread for movies sometime soon so I dont make this any longer. I hope this helped a lot of you guys out!

Note
I'm not calling you a nasty person, I don't think you are, you are someone with just another opinion, but even if Colin is a hot guy, that does not mind that he has to have another LI necessarily or maybe it's me, when I watch a show and there is a hot actor (or actress) I don't think their character it's not excited because he/she isn't with anyone, sometimes putting them with someone destroys a bit the show (Castle, Supergirl, Grey's Anatomy for example), maybe is me, I think that all stories+
should be able to make the viewers to be excited without unnecessary drama just for shock and without being rude towards the narrative of their own stories and the fans, that's why I think that it would be so OOC, because many old fans are going to still watching and making something that could destroy 6 years of development and to be so inconsiderate with the viewers shouldn't be contemplated (maybe it's just me but I'm a videogame designer and that's how I want to represent my stories)
It’s not that your take on characters not needing love interests is a totally unique one... but it’s not the usual attitude of the “General Audience”. Folks like romance. I more or less identify as asexual and it generally saddens me how few characters are “allowed” to exist in media without a love interest. It’s something a lot of asexual folks get upset about, because it is just the standard state of media that every major character gets paired up with somebody eventually (and it’s usually presented as part of their “happily ever after” ending, which implies that happiness can’t be had without a romantic partner - something many asexuals struggle with the idea of). And when that somebody is offscreen, it simply doesn’t satisfy the GA’s rampant need for attractive people professing undying love and banging their genitals together (mostly offscreen on that part, but increasingly not).
So, really, you don’t have to try to convince me of all of the reasons why a Hook LI is a “bad idea” for a portion of the fandom or how it will alienate CSers or how it’s OOC for the character or it throws out established show canon. I know all of that, my friend. We’re not in disagreement on any of those points. You are totally beating a dead horse when it comes to those arguments.
What we seem to be in disagreement about is whether The Powers That Be, the folks responsible for making the show, ultimately care enough about any of those things enough to resist the siren song of a Hook LI if the General Audience starts telling them to DO IT.
Networks go by what the General Audience wants to see on their screens. That’s just what they do. And ultimately, no matter how dedicated to their show’s vision they are, show runners have to do whatever the Networks tell them to do. It’s better to have a slightly different show than you'd like to have than to not have a show at all. After all, these aren’t fanfics they’re writing in their free time. These shows are their livelihood. Their jobs. Their entire careers. It’s easy for fans to say “End the show!” and “Don’t change for the network!” but they’re essentially asking these people to quit their job and/or put a big stamp on their forehead that says “doesn’t work well with their employers”. It’s not realistic to expect that of anyone, regardless of their vocation.
Yes, right now, the GA sees Hook as being with Emma and would likely react poorly to him suddenly being with someone else. But a year from now, even 6 months from now, that may no longer be the case. There may be new viewers in the GA that have only started watching in S7. There may be viewers who have grown bored with Hook being in a long-distance relationship. There may be viewers who have started clamoring for a new ship just based on Colin’s onscreen chemistry with someone new. And there are, already, folks in the GA who just don’t give that much of a shit. So, yes, right now the GA isn’t asking for a new LI for Hook, so he isn’t getting one. But if the General Audience wants Hook with someone new, they will put him with someone new. If the GA wants him to wear hot pink daisy dukes and rollerskate everywhere he goes, he’ll wear hot pink daisy dukes and rollerskate everywhere. THAT is the reality of network TV. Like I’ve said, I don’t make the rules. I just babble about ‘em ;)
