Hello! What abt svt & their reaction/rls to foreign staff members? As in maybe translators that are with them on tour?
you being a foreign staff member
content: these are mostly implied to be platonic, fluff, foreign reader (non-korean), most of these reactions assume you speak english and korean as an additional language, etc.
wc: 881
a/n: i loved this concept honestly!! id love to write a longer fic about a language barrier fic or a translator staff member :0
masterlist
seungcheol -
being leader, he sometimes would feel the brunt of taking on interviews and such in english, not always being able to understand what's being asked of him. he would turn to you before and after any interviews or social interactions that involved english to clarify anything he didnt understand. would have a lot of respect and admiration for you, thinking you to be super smart for being able to translate so effortlessly.
jeonghan -
would sometimes strike conversation in japanese just to throw you off. he'd even ask joshua to teach him some phrases in english to throw you off even further by suddenly switching languages. would do the same with jun and throw some chinese at you too. however, he would still converse with you in korean often to get you to accompany him and a few of the members during outings in order to translate.
joshua -
he'd be happy to have another person to speak english to, always seeking you out whenever he got tired of not being able to speak his native language. since the two of you both had korean as an additional language you'd learned, the two of you would relate a lot and mutually gravitate towards each other.
jun -
he has a tendency of going live on weverse and going back and forth between korean and chinese, even teaching carats a few phrases in both languages. this makes me think that he might seek the same from you. he would ask you to translate phrases into whichever language you knew and would even teach you stuff in chinese back.
soonyoung -
he's always trying to learn new words from his the comments on his weverse lives, so i think he would come to you with that same curiosity. he would be fascinated by how easily you went back from one language to another and ask you to teach him how you do it. would be super cute about it too, following you around whenever you were assigned to go on tour or to events with them and rambling questions at you.
wonwoo -
he mentioned in a fansign recently that he wants to learn a lot of languages, so i think he would be somewhat fascinated by you and how well you spoke korean despite it not being your first tongue. would maybe even seek you out directly to strike conversation about linguistics.
jihoon -
he's expressed before that he thinks his english is bad, so he might be a bit shy to speak it. he might look to you for help whenever he happened to go out or find himself in social situations overseas, sticking by you in order to avoid awkward social situations. he would be forever thankful to you for always helping him out and would come directly to you any time he needed help or wanted to learn something new in that language.
seokmin -
he's so outgoing he would probably not even need you to direct yourself at him in korean to become friends with you. since you'd be around a lot, he would do his best to make you feel comfortable while also getting your help in learning a bit more english to communicate with carats. to him it'd be a two birds one stone type of situation; he gets a new friend and gets to find new ways to talk to his fans.
mingyu -
super interested in interacting with you. he loves to learn and is always hoping to strike conversation with new people he meets, so he would have tons of questions for you as to what words to say and how to say them. being the friendly guy that he is, you two would likely become fast friends due to how often he came to you with questions.
minghao -
he's said before he wants to learn english and how hard he's been working towards it, so he would come to you with any questions and even asking you to tag along if he were ever to want to go out during tour. he'd become friends with you very easily and exchange his knowledge in chinese for your knowledge in english.
seungkwan -
he'd be immediately curious about you, seeing as you didn't seem to be a regular staff member. upon finding out you were a translator he'd try to communicate with you in broken english, completely forgetting that you'd obviously know korean. after that, he would consistently ask for your help in learning important phrases in english and praising you for your expertise at speaking multiple languages.
vernon -
as someone who had to learn korean as a second language very young (and then retain his english language after moving to korea), he would probably relate to you a lot and befriend you very easily. he would seek you out to dust off his english and the two of you would likely hit it off right away.
chan -
being the future of kpop, of course he needs to know a bit more english, or at least that's what he tells you any time he comes to you with yet another inquiry as to what some random post he saw online means. he knows he can just use an online translator (or ask an english-speaking member), but he would trust your judgment more.

(〃ω〃) soul reuniting with his streamer bf
pairing : soul (p1harmony) x male reader
warnings: none :)) oh wait, reader is japanese - speaks japanese and a lil korean - but other than that theres no physical description being described so i hope it still is relatable (he had to b japanese for the plot ‼️)
rating : just fluffy pining and subtle (not so subtle) clingyness from shota <3 abrupt ending (?) a lil bit, sawrryyy
-> pt. 1 , maybe a short series because i feel this is just too cute + i feel like this was written rlly messy so pls excuse that and just look at how cute soul is pls.
wc : 4.1k+
the two of you met way before he even became a trainee and stayed close throughout his whole journey. being one of the few people he kept close from his hometown, he is always eager to talk to you and catch up — even if you guys are now very far from each other.
while he pursued his dream of becoming an idol, you were working towards your own, which was to become a popular streamer. with how oversaturated the market is, it took you quite a while to make a name for yourself. luckily, you had a strong support system in shota and the loved ones surrounding you. and all the hard work and effort you put into this dream eventually paid off, in two years time you were a well known name in the gaming community, not just in japan, but internationally.
shota liked tuning into your streams whenever he could, playing them around the dorm and watching them at full volume as he was entranced completely by you. the members wondered why he would be so invested in your streams, beginning to recognize your face from how often shota would watch, but did not know how deep your relationship with the boy was.
he kept his love life a secret from everyone, including the members, to play it safe. he was still young and even though he knew how much he loved you, he doubted he would be able to convince those around him how serious this relationship was for him and they’d just end up forcing a break up to happen between you two. he knew he could trust the members to not be completely doubtful of his relationship, but he still didn’t really see a rush in telling them.
meanwhile, since they thought that he was just watching some random dude streaming, they didn’t pester him about it, noticing that you were japanese and immediately marking it up to shota finding some sort of comfort to his homesickness.
“sho, guess what?”
he immediately made a face at the question, making you laugh at his suspicions.
“what?” he asked, wondering what had you so smiley. naturally, it made him smile in return, ear to ear with his eyes crinkling at the ends.
you didn’t say anything, instead showing him the plane ticket that was in your hand, as well as the passport that was accompanying it. he leaned forward to the phone screen, eyes comically blowing wide as he physically jumped into the air.
“oh my god!” he exclaimed in english, making his members snap their head in his direction at the sudden screech. he began giggling like a kid, running in place to physically get out all of his emotions of excitement and anticipation. “are you serious? are you really coming?!”
the members looked at each other in confusion, wondering if any of them could translate what he was saying from japanese to korean. then they watched in even more confusion with the way he threw himself into his room and shutting the door behind him rather excitedly.
“yep! my flight is in thirty minutes, i’ll be there in, hm, 3 or 4 hours?” you grinned, trying to be mindful of your volume as people were beginning to stare at you for your excited whispers to your phone.
“[name]! you’re really coming?!” he repeated again, throwing himself onto his bed and hugging one of the stuffed plushies you had bought him. “are you really coming?”
“yes, shota! why else would i be at the airport?” you laughed, spinning the camera around to show your surroundings, “i think i might have to hang up soon though, the people are starting to whisper about me,”
“no, no, stay on the phone until your plane leaves! promise, i’ll be quiet,” he pleads, looking at you with nothing but adoration and love, hugging the plushie tight as he imagined it were you instead. well, it would be in a couple of hours, which he found to be unbelievable.
“hm, ok, ok, until the plane leaves then,” you agree, nodding and internally cooing at how cute your boyfriend is, “what should we do when i get there?”
“eat! eat!” he chants, “then shopping? we have to get you some souvenirs. wait, how long are you going to be staying? do you already have a hotel? maybe the managers will let me have you stay in the dorm-”
his rambles continued on beyond that, the words leaving his lips before he could realize. but you simply let him go on, smiling at the animated expressions he was using while he talked and how audibly excited he was at your surprise visit.
“no, no, don’t, i already have a hotel booked, it should be pretty close to your dorm…if i was understanding the directions correctly when i booked,” you commented, crossing your fingers for shota to see, “my korean still isn’t the best, but i’ve been studying for a long time,”
“it’s probably better than mine,” he comforts, making you frown at his comment. he raises his hand in defense, swiftly apologizing for the slight self-deprecation.
“i’ll be there for about a month? i didn’t know your exact schedule, so i wanted to stay for a while in case it overlapped-”
“we already finished promoting for our recent song, so we don’t really have anything scheduled — besides morning and afternoon practices and lessons,” shota explained truthfully, grin widening as he realized he’d actually get to spend a lot of time with you.
“then, that’s perfe-”
you were cut off as there was an announcement made for you flight, making it known that boarding was beginning. shota frowned at the news, but reminded himself he’d finally get to see you in person in a few hours.
“i’ll see you soon, sho! promise the time will go by like this,” you snapped your fingers, making shota anxiously-excitedly toy with the soft fabric of the plushie.
“bye, i love you,” he says quickly, waving his hand towards the camera.
“i love you too, shota, i can’t wait to see you again!”
a blush is present on both of your faces at the farewell, but thankfully the camera doesn’t properly pick it up. you hang up after a couple seconds of waving bye, making shota turn onto his bed with a dreamlike look on his face.
in a split second, he’s turning over onto his stomach and making all sorts of noises into the thick mattress below him and ruining the neatness of his sheets as he flails around in bed. he thinks about how this would be the first time in about six years you two would see each other. and he gets all flustered at the idea, wondering how you have changed — how he’s changed and how you would react to it.
you’ve talked almost every single night since he’s left japan, but facetimes and phone calls can’t compare to the real thing. and he now feels nervous, butterflies in his stomach as he continues kicking into the bed.
“soul? what are you doing?” jongseob asked, peering into the room with a confused look on his face.
he stills in his actions, looking up from the pillow at his close friend and weakly replying, “boyfriend is coming.”
jongseob blinks several times before repeating what soul said, in a loud, shocked tone, “your what?!”
“boyfriend,” shota says, enunciating the syllables, “is coming. here. now.”
“what?! since when did you have a boyfriend?!”
“a what?!”
now the other members are barging into the room and surrounding soul, who’s still in a panic over how you’ll react to seeing him in person for the first time. keeho takes a seat next to him, placing both of his hands on his shoulders, “repeat what you told jongseob,”
getting tired of the entire interviewing process, shota speaks in a clear, definitive tone, “my boyfriend from japan is coming here, now. he’s on a flight, now!”
there’s silence that falls over everyone, taking in the words.
“well, that’s good, right?” keeho tries looking at the positive side, refusing to question shota further on why he never said anything about having a relationship, instead choosing to be comforting rather than demanding.
“no — well, yeah it is, it is! but what if he doesn’t like me anymore?” shota whispers, feeling himself grow more self conscious as he realizes what he had just said to his members.
“okay well, since we know nothing about him since it’s our first time hearing of him-” jiung slaps keeho on the back of the head, making the leader clear his throat and reword his sentence, “well, we don’t know much about him, but i’m sure him coming all the way here for you is a clear sign that he still likes you, shota,”
he remains silent, fiddling with the rings adorning his fingers. the others watch on, anxious and too shocked to really say anything else. so he shoots up from his bed, grabs his towel, and rushes to the bathroom to shower and freshen up, and also clear his thoughts.
in the newfound silence of the bedroom, they all look at each other.
“shota has a boyfriend?” intak repeats, still not believing the news, “why didn’t he tell us?”
keeho shrugs, that question being the main thing on his mind. he wonders if soul was burdening himself with such a secret for a long time and frowns as he thinks about how there might be more that he’s hiding.
“well, let’s not question him too much about it, if this guy is on a flight right now, that means that he’s gonna be here in a couple of hours. just, pretend that everything is normal, alright?” keeho advises them all, motioning for them to leave the room to give shota privacy when he gets out of the shower.
after the flight that was a little over three hours long, you finally touched ground in south korea. you felt both giddy and nervous over being reunited with your boyfriend after so long, but tried to not focus on the nerves too much. after going through airport security and securing your luggage, you opened an app on your phone, about to call for a taxi to take you to your hotel, but a shadow standing in front of you distracted you.
looking up in confusion, your furrowed brows became relaxed the moment you recognized who it was. it took a couple of seconds considering they were wearing a beanie that covered their hair and a mask.
but you could easily recognize shota’s eyes from a mile away.
he was standing in front of you with a bouqet of flowers proudly in front of him, as well as a plushie keychain of sorts also attached to the bouqet.
“sho-chan!” you cried out, pulling him into a hug immediately, which he reciprocated in a second. the flowers were crushed in between the both of your chests, but neither of you minded. he rocked the two of you back and forth, the mask on his face covering his grin, as he breathed in your scent. “why are you here? what if you get caught?”
“i needed to see you,” he whispered, still holding you so tight it was borderline suffocating. his arms were around your waist as his hands went up and down your back, fingers slightly digging into the fabric of your clothes. as if he were grabbing for you, trying to understand that you really were in front of him.
this wasn’t one of his dreams.
“i missed you so much,” you said, smiling into his chest as he kept running his hands up and down your back. you tried pulling away, but he was pretty adamant in keeping you against him. it took pinching his side with laughter before he could release you. and even then, he still had his arm around your shoulder to keep you close. “so, what are you do-”
“[name]-san! welcome to korea!”
it was a sudden exclamation of pretty off-sounding japanese. you looked behind shota and saw five heavily disguised individuals holding a sign reading the words they had just said, as well as one of them holding flowers.
“what is going on?” you ask, voice breaking into laughter at the awkward scene.
“my members, they wanted to come so that they could say hello to you,” shota explained quickly, “i just told them today, that you were my boyfriend, so i think they were really excited…they seem more excited than i do,”
you watched shota’s reaction carefully, to see if there was any hint of how they took the news, but he was just relaxed and embarrassed of their activities, not at all spiteful or hurt. so you simply smiled, taking his hand in yours and walking forward.
“thank you so much for the warm greeting,” you bow in thanks, taking the flowers from theo, and looking at each of them, “we can just speak in korean, by the way, no need for japanese,”
“yeah, they don’t speak it well anyway, so i doubt you’d be able to understand anything they said,” shota teases in his mother tongue, making you smack him on the chest as a way of scolding him for being so mischievous. but he only smiles wider, grabbing your hand in his and swinging it back and forth. “should we go?”
the rest of the members watch his comfortabilty with you, fond smiles on their faces, before nodding and agreeing that they should leave the airport before someone notices them. shota makes sure to stay close, holding you tight with a grin that he can’t wipe off of his face the entire time.
”so, [name], how did you and soul meet?” keeho asked, closing the door behind him as everyone was settled into the van. you sat at the window seat, shota next to you and jongseob on his other side. the remaining four were sitting in front of you, being able to look at you directly with the way the van’s seats were positioned.
“me and shota have known each other before he even came to korea for training,” you explained carefully, trying to keep the vocabulary simple so you didn’t confuse yourself, “childhood friends,”
“so when did you two starts dating?”
you look at shota, trying to remember the exact amount of time. he giggled quielty, deciding to answer, “i asked him to be my boyfriend a couple of months after our debut,”
the members tried fighting off the look of surprise on their faces, but it was hard when the news was so ground breaking. since debut, soul had been successful in keeping his relationship with you hidden.
“wait — hold on,” intak clapped his hands, pointing a finger at you with shock painted across his face. keeho smacked his pointing finger down in a second, glaring at the third youngest for his behavior, “i know you! i know your face!”
you became bashful, nodding your head at the man’s exclamation.
“wait, intak how do you know him?” jiung asked, confused even more, along with the rest of the members.
out of nowhere, theo was next to shout out, “oh! i know you too! this is crazy!” he said, looking at you and soul with wide eyes, “you never told us he was the one you always watch,”
“guys, what are you talking about?” keeho asked, making theo and intak both shout at the same time: “the streamer soul is always watching!”
shota covers his face in embarassment of his members’ antics while jiung, jongseob, and keeho all make sounds of realization.
“you’re so cool!” keeho says suddenly, also putting two and two together, “me and soul were watching you together one day, you’re really good at game. how did i not recognize you?” the last part was rhetorical, of course, but you simply shook your head in bashfulness.
“wait, this is so cool, soul’s dating him!” jongseob said, grinning ear to ear as he slaps shota’s shoulder several times. then he looks at you with a kind smile, “i watch your streams sometimes, you’re really cool!”
“huh? since when?” soul asked, hearing that piece of news for the first time.
“since i started playing honkai, he’s got good builds,” jongseob shrugs, looking at you with a kind smile, “wow, you look different in person, in a good way!”
shota rolls his eyes at jongseob’s compliment, but you thank him with a genuine smile and nod of your head.
“that’s really nice of you guys, i didn’t know shota would be watching it that frequently,” you said, feeling shy at the fact that these guys have probably all seen you look your worst on streams where you didn’t really care for your appearance.
”he watches you allll the time,” intak adds on, “always on his phone watching you!”
“and with no headphones, it’s at full volume too,” jiung says, briefly scowling at soul before sweetly smiling at you, “i guess he was just so proud that he wanted everyone in the dorm to know,”
shota waves his hand and makes noises to tell them to shut up, but their exposing of him doesn’t end there. they keep telling more and more about his behavior whenever he watched your streams, the entire car ride consisted of that while shota tried getting them to stop.
but you took each thing they said to you with a genuine smile and thankful nod. you were internally relieved that they were all very accepting and not even paying any mind to the fact that you and shota were both boys dating, just treating your relationship like any other — which you appreciated.
the entire car ride was light hearted and full of laughter, plus shota making embarrassed noises whenever they exposed him of his very down bad behavior that they were also piecing together. whenever shota would get particularly embarrassed, he’d hide into your shoulder and whine audibly enough to the point they also began teasing him for that.
finally, the van arrived to their dorm and they quickly explained, “let’s just eat dinner first before you go to your hotel room,” and they all seemed too excited to deny, since you thought that it would have been too burdensome. but with the way they were so eagerly guiding you to the building made you feel too welcomed to refuse.
“we tried cleaning up before you came, so if there’s any mess, please excuse it,” keeho says softly, looking a bit embarassed, but you just shake your head and tell him it was fine. shota is still lingering incredibly close, standing behind you with his arms wrapped around your waist.
“we bought a mix of korean and japanese food, so hopefully you find something you like,” jiung says, motioning for you to take a seat across from him and smiling excitedly at the sight of the food, “everything looks really delicious. i want to try the curry,”
“it smells very good, too,” you comment, the aroma of all the food surrounding you all. they all agreed with moans of pleasure, excited to finally dig in and soon, they were all grabbing their own pair of chopsticks and grabbing pieces of the food.
shota grabbed at least one piece of everything for you, excitedly watching you react to each thing you tasted. his dark eyes were seemingly permanently resting in a crescent position and his cheeks were always raised high due to his smile.
“is it yummy?” he asked after feeding you a spoonful of spicy tofu stew. you nodded with sounds of approval at the food, making the other member chuckle in agreement.
“here, try this one,” shota repeats, holding a piece of an unknown dish to your mouth. his hand is resting underneath it in case he needs to catch it. opening his mouth as he feeds you, eagerly awaiting your reaction once again.
he did this with every dish that was on the table, grinning happily and shaking your hands together every time you enjoyed it. jiung had to physically restrain himself from showing any sign of giddiness at how adorable the two of you were.
“so, what do you have planned while you’re in seoul?” keeho kindly asked.
soul was eagerly waiting for your response wanting to get any hint of anything that the two of you could be doing for the entire month you were together. trying to ignore his adorable eyes planted on you, you looked directly at keeho, “i have a lot of things i want to do and see, like the traditional villages and stuff, but also the other tourist spots…i’ve never been to korea before so i’ll be happy to see anything! i do have some stuff planned with shota, but, i can’t spoil them,”
the boys all nodded in understanding, looking pleased at the information.
“well, if you ever need anything, we’ll all be here for you,”
you thanked them for being so kind and that was the wrap up of your meal. shota was quick in pulling you away, the others not minding that he was skipping out on cleaning up since he was so visibly excited to be with you. he carried you into his shared room with jongseob by your waist, falling onto the mattress with a satisfied sigh.
despite not seeing you for so long, the level of comfortability was not at all forgotten. his awareness of his skin against yours was enough to make him crave it more, burying his head into your neck and tightening his hold around your waist. you laughed at the ticklish sensation, feeling his smile press against your skin.
you rolled over a couple of times until you were in a comfortable position. shota moved up to sit against the wall, letting you sit on his lap with your legs on either side of his, and resting his hands in yours, holding on tight.
“i can’t believe you’re really here,” he sighs, eyes blown wide as he takes the sight of you in, “i missed you so much, [name], you wouldn’t believe it,” his voice is quiet and soft, as if he wants these words to only exist in this moment alone.
his hand gently moves to rest on your cheek and your scared that he’d feel just how hot your skin was from the close proximity and his heartfelt words. but he can only smile at you so fondly, the cool feeling of his rings against your skin calming your racing heart (to an extent).
“always wanted to go back home to you,” he whispers, his other arm moving to wrap around your waist. he leans forward, making your chests meet at the sudden closeness, as well as vice grip around your middle half making you forcefully press against him.
“i missed you too, shota,” it’s soft, but he catches it and he smiles ear to ear at the confession.
“can i kiss you?”
it takes a couple of seconds to process what exactly he had said, but when it finally does click all you can manage is a nod. it’d be your first kiss together, but there wouldn’t be any more perfect of a time than now to have one. reunited after years of being apart, forcing a long distance relationship that you both knew would have sparse amounts of support.
his eyes are trained on yours, until he eventually flutters his eyes shut and leans in for the softest kiss in the world. he squeezes you closer, practically melting into you as he tries so hard to keep your lips on his for as long as possible.
when the two of you have to pull away, he’s already grinning ear to ear with a healthy blush on his face.
“i love you so much, [name],” he gently says.
it’s the easiest thing in the world to reply back, “i love you too, shota,”
┆pt. 2 would probably be more centered around how reader being a streamer acc impacts the plot lmao (like random ass ppl recognizing him on the street - which i think would b rlly funny)

from this idea/request
your dream job.
working with a boy kpop group as a marketing newbie.
they came to the united states for tour. you were excited to work for the one and only stray kids.
𐒡𝛫𝛧
not proofread. please like, comment, reblog! do not repost or translate, tysm!!
₍ᐢ. .ᐢ₎ ₊˚⊹♡
you could barely contain your excitement. even 2 weeks later and 4 shows later. you don’t think you’d ever get over the fact you are literally working with the stray kids.
you didn’t care if your job was to double check and make sure catering was okay. or if the wardrobe designers had everything they needed. or ran errands for food or other supplies.
it was all worth it to be able to be in close proximity with the stray kids.
your korean language knowledge lacked, however the boys were good speaking in english and hearing you talk in your native language. you once even apologized to them because you couldn’t communicate with them in their language. even with simple words.
bang chan and felix looked at you like you had two heads and said to never apologize for that. it seemed the other boys didn’t mind either.
you all communicated well enough to make sure everyone was on the same page.
right now you were carrying 2 big plastic bags and 2 drink carriers to the guys’ dressing room while they waited for press conference in boston.
opening the door softly, you bowed and walked in quietly as each boy was doing their own thing.
han was singing, lee know harmonizing. hyunjin and felix playing a game on their phone. seungmin and i.n. was napping. changbin and bang chan deep in conversation.
you were just surprised more chaos wasn’t happening right now.
changbin and bang chan immediately saw you carrying everything and rushed to get up to help you.
“here, let us help.” changbin said in his cute english accent.
“we could’ve went and got our own take out.” bang chan smiled taking the drinks.
“it’s fine, part of the job.” you awkwardly replied.
“thank you so much!” felix smiled pausing his game with hyunjin.
you turned around to leave the boys, as your supervisor would yell at you for spending too much time lingering.
even though the boys (all 8) have even told you they didn’t mind company.
they loved their u.s. staff.
“do you want to join us? we got extra.” bang chan asked. what you didn’t recognize in his tone was hope.
he was hoping you would say yes. but frowned when you shook your head politely. “i wish i could, but i should go see if my boss needs me for anything else.” you smiled and walked out of the dressing room.
your smile could melt bang chan.
what you didn’t know, was that bang chan started to enjoy your company. the first day he met you, newbie to this industry and work, he loved the brightness your energy brought.
he wanted to call you sunshine in a nickname, but was scared to see how you would react.
him having a crush on staff? fine, okay.
but he knew you were probably drilled to not even look twice in their direction in that way or else you’d be terminated.
he didn’t want to ruin this opportunity for you.
but he also wanted you. sexually? maybe. but even more so, just wanted to spend more time with you.
and he would find a way.
︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶
and bang chan did.
he had texted your personal cell asking for you to bring him something as he felt nauseous and had a headache.
it was rare bang chan asked for anything. at least, from what you observed.
so the fact he texted your personal cell rather than your work cell, your stomach dropped thinking something was truly wrong with him.
you even texted him back asking if you should bring back up, and he had said no.
bang chan: no, i just need you
bang chan: and the stuff i asked for, yeah
bang chan’s ears got red at the thought of the first text message and how it could be interpreted.
he waited anxiously in his private hotel room, pacing back and forth waiting for your knock.
what if you got the stuff but handed it off to security to bring to him? dang it, he should’ve been more specific that he wanted you to hand it directly to him.
light knocks came to the door, and he smiled knowing it was you being polite, even with knocking on a door.
he opened it, seeing your worried face, and you pushed passed him.
“are you okay bang chan?” you asked frantically and took everything out the bag that could hopefully help him.
bang chan couldn’t get sick and you would do everything you could to help that.
in reality, bang chan was fine.
“just feeling a bit queasy.” he says with a fake frown. “no matter how much traveling we do, being in different time zones so many times do get to us.”
“i bet!” you turned to him finally seeing him. he was dressed in black sweatpants, black sleeveless shirt and house slippers.
those fucking muscles. you could literally drool at the sight. heck, you probably were. you had to blink rapidly to get your mind right.
“yes, right,” um you stuttered, noticing bang chan smiling. “i—i should go now.”
“stay for a while?” he asked, his question thick with his aussie accent.
“i don’t know—,”
“please? just for one movie at least?”
was this appropriate? probably not. you could potentially get fired. but couldn’t you also get fired if you left your client unhappy?
you’d do anything to make the boys happy. anything. and you knew if you truly didn’t want to, they wouldn’t make you.
the thing is—you wanted it all.
bang chan hoped you would agree. but he wouldn’t hold you hostage if you said no.
please say yes, he internally begged.
you nodded, “okay.”
thankfully, you were dressed in comfy clothes because when he had texted you, you ran to the nearest convenience store in panic.
his room was big enough to have two big comfy chairs that had sight of the television on the wall.
“what kind of movies do you enjoy?”
“anything in mind yourself?” you asked.
“how about the new marvel movie?”
“sounds good to me!” you smiled and hugged your knees close to your chest getting comfy on the chair as he got comfy on the other chair next to you.
if bang chan was bold enough, he would’ve asked if you wanted to watch the movie while laying in bed.
but would that be too bold? he can hear some members say, ‘not bold enough!’
how bold should he be with you? he did some lurking and found your personal social accounts. before you deleted any evidence, he found that you were a fan of theirs.
although he joked saying fans needed to touch some grass, he needed to touch some grass.
he saw the thirsty posts you had made of him before deleting. that’s why he wore the sleeveless shirt.
going shirtless would be too much too soon.
bang chan was restless during the entire movie and you noticed quickly.
you got up and grabbed some of the medicine and pedialyte from the bag. “here take this. you’re restless!”
“oh, um thank you.” he smiled timidly and took the the one pill and drunk the pedialyte.
“maybe that’ll help.” you smiled sitting back down.
“i think I should lay down?” he asked more in a question rather than a statement.
“ok, i’ll leave you be.” you smiled and stood back up.
“no, can you stay? um, just make sure i don’t vomit in my sleep?” bang chan wanted to cringe so badly at his own pleading.
“don’t you sleep naked?” you blurted without much thought and he laughed.
“yeah i do, but i can stay dressed for you.” he winked.
oh this flirt. this mister, ‘i don’t know how to flirt.’
should you stay?
“yes, you should stay.” he said and you wanted to slap yourself as you found that you said that out loud.
bang chan got comfy in bed, turning off the television. he patted the empty spot next to him. you hesitated but remembered technically he’s your boss too.
the thought of sleeping with your boss? your celebrity crush who’s your boss? amazing.
you sat next to him and you two got in comfortable conversation. it started with him asking how did you know you wanted a job like this and you replied it started in your teen years with the 17-magazine and teen vogue magazines wanting to be around celebrities and get to know them better.
like isn’t it fun to be able to interview your favorite popular artists?
as time you went on, you suddenly yawned and looked at the clock on the hotel nightstand.
“shit! it’s almost 1 am!”
bang chan laughed. “well, our show isn’t until the day after tomorrow,”
“you mean today? the day after today?”
“no. it’s not today until we sleep then wake up. regardless of time.”
you looked at him with interest. “that’s an interesting way to put it.”
“either way, we sleep, we wake up, we have nothing to do so we can sleep in.”
“well depends if my boss needs me to do anything.”
“i can tell her to give you a day off. say i need you as my personal assistant.”
you laughed. “personal assistant in what? keeping you company.”
bang chan blushed. “maybe.” he replied quietly with a smile.
“i can do that.” you replied.
was chan flirting with you? or was he just being his usual self?
no, this seemed like flirting. you doubt he’d just ask anyone for that.
“well i can keep you company whenever we wake up.”
“and tonight. while we sleep?” bang chan stared at you, his brown eyes looking at you with hope.
“sleep?” you choked out nervously. sleep? with? bang chan?
you could literally combust.
“i don’t have sleep clothes?” you questioned.
“i can lend you something if you need, unless you sleep naked too?”
you bit your bottom lip. should you do this?
“please? i won’t do anything you’re not comfortable with. if you don’t want me to touch you, i wont. i—i just really like your company.” bang chan admitted shyly.
how could you say no to that? “okay.” you smiled.
what you wish you could tell him was, ‘yes! touch me! i’ll sign an additional nda!’
you got into bed next to bang chan, after dressing in a plain black oversized stray kids shirt he gave you. you denied needing any pants as it would just make you restless in your sleep.
the shirt covered all that needed to be covered.
you both laid in bed, facing each other with nervous smiles.
“we should get some sleep.” you said with a yawn.
“yeah, we should.”
you and bang chan stayed up until 6 am that morning.

All the times you fell in love with Minho
Pairing: Minho/Lee Know x fem!reader
Word Count: 3670
Summary: Falling for Minho has happened in small stages and some moments stuck out: helping you learn Korean, picking you up when it rains, or showing you around his hometown, and many more.
Warnings/Tags: fluff, slight angst, soft!minho, friends to lovers
A/N: This is just a collection of short "stories" that I might conclude to a fiction, filling the gaps one day. I hope you enjoy it!😊~Moon🌙
You can't exactly pinpoint the moment you knew that Minho was the one. It got lost in a blur of memories, loads of emotions, and incredible moments spent together for years. If someone would ask you what made you fall in love with him, though, you could think of a few moments…
One
It's already getting dark outside as you walk down the street next to your best friend. You shove your hands into your pockets and exhale softly, watching your breath dance through the air. "I can't wait to be back home."
"Why are you suddenly in such a rush?" he asks confused. After all, you have wanted to go for a walk tonight. "I thought you liked this?"
"I do," you clarify, laughing. "It's just getting really cold, and I miss my blanket."
"Unbelievable," he teases you and gently pokes your side. "I thought we were getting dinner," he pouts.
"We can still do that…on our way home?" you suggest, and he rolls his eyes at you.
"Fine," he sighs dramatically and gently bumps his shoulder against yours as it starts to rain very gently. "You'll start melting now?"
"You're an idiot," you groan, and he smirks, satisfied that he pissed you off.
"Not really, you're just being ridiculous," he tells you, and you're about to protest when suddenly he stops walking. His whole expression changes, eyes lightening up and a wide smile covering his lips. "Hii," he says softly and crouches down. You frown softly and only now realize the cat strolling towards Minho. You stare at him as he scratches its head and talks to it in a voice you've only heard him do around children before.
"Min, what if it's sick?" you ask worriedly, and he rolls his eyes with a soft groan.
"Y/N, not everything outside of your flat is a danger, alright?" he reminds you before looking down at the cat again. "I mean, how could you be, huh? Such a sweet little baby," he cooes, and you have to bite back a laugh at how his whole demeanor changes. Cute.
Two
A frustrated groan leaves your lips staring at the page in front of you. It's been a few months since you moved here and your Korean was getting better, but you still needed to learn a lot. Your friend Felix knew the struggle and tried to help you out, as well as Chan since they were able to talk English with you in case you didn't understand. You were a quick learner, but this was taking a toll on you, and you've found yourself frustrated very often. You look up as Minho strolls into the kitchen and grabs himself a drink from the fridge. You flash him a kind smile, and he gives you one back before coming over. The thing with Minho was that your Korean needed work, and his English did. You two always tried to communicate but had to focus really hard to do so. Chan and Felix both pushed you to learn from each other often, and you were starting to get along much better than in the beginning.
"Are you studying?" he asks you, switching to English and you nod tiredly. He looks at you and squints his eyes for a moment. "I can help?"
"Yes, please," you answer, and he nods relieved as you answer in his language. "I don't know how to pronounce that," you say and point at the line in question.
Minho gets himself a chair and sits down next to you, reading through the page before humming softly. He reads it out loud for you, and you try to repeat it. He chuckles at your first attempt, and you smack his arm in protest.
"Hey, that's not nice!" you laugh.
He grins. "My mistake," he says with a very adorable accent that makes you smile involuntarily. He lets you repeat word for word and becomes very patient with you. You feel at ease now, listening to his soft voice making sense of your chaos. When Chan and Felix get back from the company and see you two sticking your heads together over your book, they exchange a knowing grin and give you some privacy.
Three
Minho glances at you as you look down at your phone, seeming a little sad. He gently nudges your side and tilts his head at you. "Hey, you're okay?"
"Yeah, I'm okay," you nod, but he's not convinced. "I just miss home sometimes, you know? I love it here, I do, my job is amazing, and I can spend time with you guys all the time…but sometimes I miss home."
Minho nods understandingly; he knows how it can get. "What do you miss the most?"
"Right now?" you ask, and he nods. "That might sound stupid but my mum's cooking."
"That doesn't sound stupid at all," he assures you. "My mum lives an hour away, and still, I miss it all the time."
You giggle softly and shake your head at him. "I can't cook for shit; otherwise I'd solve the problem that way."
Minho frowns at you. "Hello? You have a foive star Michelin here," he says, imitating Felix's accent and deep voice. "Tell me what you want, and I'll figure it out."
"You're being serious?" you ask amused, and he frowns at you, almost offended. You know he can cook, but you didn't expect that. "Wait, really?"
"For someone as smart as you you're surprisingly dumb sometimes," he tells you with a kind smile and pats your head, like you've seen him doing it with his cats before. "Don't worry, kitten, I got you."
You search his eyes, and your heart warms at the thought of him cooking for you. "Okay," you say gently and send him your mother's recipe.
Minho reads through it before jumping up. "Huh, easy as cake," he grins.
"As pie," you say.
"What?" he asks, irritated.
"As easy as pie, Min," you clarify, and he pulls a grimace.
"Correcting me even when I'm doing you a favor," he scolds you fondly.
"Hey, you told me to," you giggle.
Minho opens the fridge and waves you off, taking out some ingredients. He meets your eyes across the room and smirks. "Cooking like a chef."
"Shut up."
Four
You curse quietly to yourself as you look outside and see the rain pouring down on the streets, thunder rumbling through the air. Of course, you forgot your damn umbrella today. You never did, and somehow you managed to do so the first time in ages you could actually use it. Once you're done handling all the things for the upcoming tour of your friends, you push yourself up and pack your things. You'd be soaked the minute you stepped outside.
In the elevator, you once more check your bag but still can't find your umbrella. You give up sighing and walk towards the exit, frowning as you spot Minho. "What are you doing here?"
"Hello to you too," he says and you fight back the urge to roll your eyes.
"I thought you had dance practice," you tell him, confused.
"Why would they need me?" he asks jokingly.
"You're the main dancer, genius," you snort.
"Totally overrated," he waves you off.
"Seriously, why are you here?" you ask, laughing.
"Why? Would you prefer I'm somewhere else? Am I bothering you?" he asks, pouting.
"What? No," you laugh and shake your head.
"Sure sounds like it," he says before grinning. "When you came here, I promised Felix to take care of his friend. Since we all know you're made of sugar, I'm here to make sure you'll reach home in one piece." You blink at him, confused. "It's raining, and you'll simply dissolve, won't you?"
"Idiot," you giggle.
"Well, come on now, I have a dance practice to get back to. I'm the main dancer, after all," he tells you and earns a playful punch in the arm for it. Minho grins and wraps his arm around your waist, pulling you against him as he opens the umbrella and steps outside with you. You smile at the feeling of his body next to yours as he makes sure you're not getting wet.
"Thank you for picking me up," you tell him gently.
"I saw you forgot your umbrella," he tells you and smiles softly. "You're too young to die, dear, I had to come and get you."
"Will you stop?" you laugh and pinch his side, making him squeak in surprise.
"Stop this, or I might reconsider," he jokingly threatens.
"You'd abandon me just like that?" you ask, covering your mouth in fake shock.
"You? Never," he winks at you, and you quickly look away, feeling yourself blush. Gosh, not again.
"You're a real gentleman, thank you very much," you say sarcastically, and a genuine laugh falls from his lips. You can't help but laugh as well, loving the sound of his sweet, happy giggles.
Five
You nervously fidget with your hands as you get closer to Minho's bedroom door. Only five minutes ago it had seemed like a fun idea to actually learn a dance of theirs for once as Felix had so often teased you about. You used to love dancing growing up but haven't done it in a while. Chan suggested that you ask Minho for help, after all, he was their main dancer. You've watched him work quite often by now, knowing his ways to make things simple for his friends. Somehow, the thought intimidated you a little because Minho was amazing at dancing. You could only embarrass yourself, right? You give yourself a push and gently knock on his door.
Only a few seconds later, he's at the door, opening it and looking at you surprised. "Y/N? Do you need anything?"
"Maybe?" you chuckle and awkwardly look at him, not knowing how to say it.
Minho squints his eyes at you before taking your hand and pulling you into his room, closing the door again. "What did you do?"
"What?" you ask, laughing nervously.
"Did you break something? Did you mix colors doing the laundry again and ruin another of Changbin's expensive shirts?" he asks, and you start laughing at him.
"No, Min, please," you giggle and search his eyes. "I wanted to ask you for a favor, actually."
"Go on," he nods and leans against his desk, gently blowing a strand of his hair out of his face.
"I've been joking with Felix and Chan about learning a dance of yours," you tell him, and he looks at you curiously. "Channie suggested I'd ask you for help."
"Any particular reason for it?" he asks, interested.
"Boredom?" you shrug, and he chuckles softly. "I used to dance when I was younger, but I haven't done it in ages, so…I could use some help."
He smiles gently, unable to hide his excitement about you coming to ask him for help. "When do you want to start?"
"Right now?" you ask before quickly shaking your head. "If you have time. If not, we don't have to and-."
"Of course, I have time for you," he tells you with a genuine smile that makes your heart flutter a little.
Only shortly after you find yourself in the practice room with him, a little intimidated by the huge mirror wall in front of you. Minho follows your eyes and contorts his face. "I hate them too, once you know the dance they're simply distracting."
You chuckle softly and watch him as he starts talking you through the steps. Following his instructions is easy, he simplifies everything for you with silly metaphors that make you laugh. At one point, you can't quite follow his movement anymore, and he steps behind you, gently taking your wrist.
"Here, like this. Twist it gently against your head and twirl your fingers to a fist as you do," he tells you and moves his leg between yours. "A little further apart," he says before his hand lingers over your lower back and corrects your posture. Your breath hitches as his fingertips brush against your skin as he tucks a loose hairstrand behind your ear. "Try again," he says quietly, and you repeat the last few steps he has shown you. He tilts his head at you softly as he watches you with trained eyes. You're not quite sure why he's smiling to himself until he speaks up again. "Very well, Y/N, you'd fit right in."
"Stop it," you say, blushing softly at his clearly impressed expression.
"I mean it. You're better than you think you are," he tells you kindly.
Six
"Oh! And just down here, I used to go after school when I didn't want to go back home already," he tells you, pointing down the street. "I used to play games there all afternoon with my friends."
"What about your homework?" you tease him.
"Overrated," he rolls his eyes. "I did that hidden beneath the blanket with my flashlight later."
You giggle at the thought of a small Minho hiding beneath his blanket and doing his homework in secret. "Such a good student, huh?"
"I was okay," he shrugs and thinks for a moment. "You're hungry?"
"A little, yes," you nod and giggle as his eyes brighten up. "Let me guess, you know a place."
"Hey," he says softly and looks almost a little timid. "I thought you wanted to see the places I grew up around."
You gently wrap your arms around him, standing next to him, and smirk at him. "I still do. I just think you're adorable."
"I'm what now?" he asks offended but you see the blush rising in his cheeks.
"You're adorable, Min," you tell him again, and he glances at you nervously. "I love how excited you get over small things sometimes."
"Hey, I have a reputation," he mumbles, only half-heartedly protesting.
"I know you better than that," you chuckle, and he squirms a little in your arms. "Lead the way, handsome."
"Handsome?" he whispers, and his eyes widen.
You giggle at him and poke his cheek lovingly. "Chan was right, you really suck at taking compliments," you say and let go of him.
"He didn't say that!" Minho protests loudly, and his eyes widen as you simply nod. "Chan hyung, you little -."
"Don't," you scold him, and he rolls his eyes.
"He's not here, you know," he tells you.
"And still, you call him hyung," you point out.
"I'm being polite, some people were raised like that, you know?" he teases, and you stick your tongue out at him. "See? That's exactly what I mean."
"So? Where to next?" you ask, and he points down another street.
"Right there," he smiles and looks down as you take his hand.
"Come on now, I'm hungry," you laugh at his puzzled look.
"Right," he nods quickly and leads you down the street, loving how your hands fit together perfectly.
Seven
Minho frowns softly as your name pops up on his screen. He grabs his phone and takes the call almost immediately. "What's up?" he asks.
"Do you have time right now?" you ask shakily, and he sits up straight in his chair.
"What's wrong?" he asks worriedly.
"I'm just feeling sad," you tell him and sniffle softly.
"Oh, dear, why's that?" he asks softly.
"I miss home and I feel like I'm messing everything up lately. It's been raining for days, which only worsens my mood, and I'm having trouble sleeping," you explain quietly.
Minho hums gently before frowning. "Chan's busy doing the live right now, and Felix is on some fashion event…but Chan should be done in twenty minutes. I'll tell him to call you and-."
"Minho," you say, and he shuts up immediately. "I know they're busy."
"Yeah, right, you know our schedule better than we do," he giggles.
"I wouldn't have called them if they weren't either," you say.
"What?" he asks confused.
"I wanted to talk to you and hear your voice, Min," you say timidly.
His eyes widen at your confession, and he swallows hard. "Why me? They know you so much longer, and I'm sure they can help you out better."
"I feel safe with you," you tell him, and he remains quiet for a very long moment. You start getting nervous, unsure if you've overstepped a line now.
"I uhm, can I call you back? Something came up," he says, and you swallow hard.
"Okay," you say quietly, but he has already ended the call. You anxiously put down your phone and stare out of the window. Had it been a mistake calling him for comfort? Did he feel like you were moving too fast in your friendship for that?
Only twenty minutes later, Minho rings your doorbell repeatedly. You open the door and stare at him, surprised. "I brought some food, your favorite chocolate, and my mini projector to watch some movies. I also brought the blanket you always steal from me…which is kinda stupid since you have your own here," he says and frowns at himself at the last bit. "Will you let me in? I'm soaked and starting to feel a little cold," he whines.
Only then you notice his wet hair and clothes, too focused on his soft eyes searching yours beforehand. "Why are you here?" you ask stunned as you let him inside.
Minho looks at you in utter confusion and puts the things down on your kitchen table. "You said you were sad."
"And that makes you risk getting sick?" you ask surprised, and hand him a towel for his hair.
He quickly dries his hair a bit before putting the towel aside and tilting his head at you. "You said you feel safe with me…so why would I stay at home?"
You stare at him before tears fill your eyes all over again. "I really don't deserve you," you press out, touched by his effort.
Minho's face softens, and he pulls you into a warm hug. "You deserve only the best and so much more, beautiful," he says softly and smiles as you hold onto him tightly. He buries his face in your shoulder, smiling at the feeling of being needed. Needed by you. "I'm here now. You'll be okay," he promises, and you believe him.
Eight
You chuckle as Chan takes your hand and pulls you into the audience to get a good view of the stage. The rest of the kids follow you, and you all curiously wait for your friends to enter the stage. Felix told you it would be the first time they'd perform Taste live. You loved the song the moment you heard it for the first time and were really surprised by Minho's vocals as well. You giggle softly as Minho fools around with the audience before, opening his suit jacket and laughing at the supportive screams. "Such a tease," you say.
Chan grins and hums softly. "Wouldn't expect any different," he nods, knowing damn well his friend only had eyes for you since he spotted you in the crowd. By now, everyone had picked up on the way you two gazed at each other, both thinking to be subtle.
They start their performance, and you can't do anything else than stare at Minho. The suit fits him amazingly; the colors are complimenting his dark eyes and hair. His stage presence is undeniable, and you'd never get sick of watching him dance, doing what he loved. His beautiful angel voice rings in your ears, and suddenly, he's sinking to his knees, still singing effortlessly. You're making eye contact, and it hits you all over again how beautiful he is. Before you know it, he's on the floor, rolling his hips with his hand placed near his lap, and you can't deny the sparks shooting through your lower stomach.
"Enjoying the view?" Chan teases you, and your eyes widen.
"Huh?" you ask nervously and glance at him for a moment. "Felix being handsome is no news, Channie."
"I wasn't talking about Felix," he chuckles and leans closer to you so you can hear him as the crowd goes wild. "I'm not talking about Hyunjin either."
"Minho always looks good on stage," you say cautiously.
"Only on stage?" he asks, and you turn to look at him. "I'm not blind, Y/N."
You glance back on stage as Minho takes his ending position, panting softly and smirking succeedingly into the camera. "Would it be so bad if I liked him more than a friend?" you ask timidly.
Chan gently wraps his arm around your shoulders. "Do you?" he asks, and all you can do is nod, swallowing hard at the confession. "I can tell you he'd love to hear that."
"What?" you ask surprised.
"Minho needs someone to show him how lovable he actually is. He'll never make the first move thinking you don't like him that way and too afraid to lose you," Chan tells you gently. "You have a very special place in his heart; he's just scared to show you."
"Are you saying there's actually a chance he likes me back?" you ask quietly.
"Not just a chance," he says before searching your eyes. "We have your back no matter what, and we'll always be there to support the two of you," he tells you and gently places his hands on your shoulders as Minho makes his way towards you. "You two deserve to be happy," he says softly and pushes you forward.
You meet Minho's beautiful dark eyes and flash him a shy smile. "Hi."
"Hey," he smiles happily, eyes lightening up at the sight of you.
"You looked beautiful up there," you say, and he blushes, smiling shyly.
"Yeah?" he asks sweetly. You've never called him beautiful before.
"Can we talk?" you ask gently and reach out for his hand.
Minho's face grows worried as he takes your hand, intertwining your fingers. "Is something wrong, kitten?" he asks.
Gosh, you really loved this man.

I haven’t had any questions lately but love your blog and your insights. In a video of the group photo at Milan fashion week, GG is sitting next to the older man and they are talking. I figure in some videos when GG is talking to others he has translators but it does not look like anyone from his staff is around and I was wondering if they were speaking in English or what other languages he might speak. Love to hear your insights and hope you are doing well.
Hi coyote! Thanks so much, I'm glad you're enjoying my blog! 😊
The man he's seen talking with a lot is Diego Della Valle, the CEO of Tod's. GG has a fantastic relationship with him, and he even referred to him as yeye (grandpa) in his Vogue interview from the show.
Last time GG was in Milan Della Valle took GG on a tour of some beautiful sites around Italy - including the Colloseum in Rome -and some sites significant to the brand (the workshop, the flagship store, etc.). GG got to spend a lot of time with him, so they had plenty of opportunity to build a strong relationship.
You can tell just by his entire demeanour around GG that Della Valle adores GG. Which makes absolute sense given how cute, gracious and charming GG is. When GG arrived at the Tod's show this year Della Valle lit up like a Christmas tree.
They sat together last year at the Tod's show as well (those who missed out on last year's trip can check out my 'gg milan fashion week 2023' tag).
Anyway, you weren't asking about Della Valle, you were asking about how GG is able to communicate with him. The simple answer is that GG does have some English!
Many students in China learn English in school, although they sometimes don't get as much opportunity to speak it, so it's probably kind of like my French - I understand quite well to hear, read and write it, but my accent and pronunciation are a bit rough around the edges (that's putting it mildly 😅).
With the international travel he's done and all the elbow-rubbing he's had to do with foreign celebrities and brand stakeholders I think GG has had a lot more opportunity than the average person to exercise his language skills, so I've no doubt he's improving all the time.
He's also a huge music lover and has many times been seen singing English songs from Avril Lavigne, Ellie Goulding, Sam Smith and many more. A couple of English performances he's done in the past:
youtube
youtube
Starts at 3:22 (I'll never get over hockey player GG 🥲).
It also seems clear that GG has a general interest in languages. He knows a fair bit of Korean and he and DD are seen in The Untamed BTS speaking various languages and dialects, including English. This is also a common feature of LRLG rumors.
There are many clips to be found online of GG speaking English for ads, occasionally a few lines for drama roles, throwing in English phrases into interviews, etc. Just based those alone I think one can tell that he's got pretty good English. His pronunciation is quite good.
If you watch some of the vlogs he's posted from the international events, and some of the clips shared by brands and magazines, you can catch moments of GG having English interactions with many people at those events. One of my absolute favorites is when he's replying to a bodyguard in a vlog when he was in Florence last year (starts at 4:08).
The bodyguard is trying to teach him how to roll his r to pronounce Florence in Italian ('Firenze') and GG says, "I can't do it." The way he says it is so damn cute, I almost died when I heard it.
Anyway, so to answer your question, GG speaks in English with Della Valle and others at those events!

daehwi - what an experience lolol. first he’s very pretty he had a lot of highlighter on lol i started off telling him i had prepared what to say but i totally forgot and he was like oh no that’s okay try and remember ! but i told him that i hope it doesn’t make him feel old but they were my first group when i was 14 and now im 19 and he laughed and was like wow ! then i told him i heard he’s from LA and I’m from LA so i became more interested in him after that but after i was done speaking he went- “Well…. actually i’m from orange county ☝️” in a sassy lil voice funny but a lil embarrassing on my part LOL he asked me if i was going to their LA show next as i was leaving so either way our conversation ended nicely :)
donghyun - OMG he was so pretty !! he was my favorite experience in fan signs in general actually. he was just super super nice and his english was really good ! he even held my hand but it was a little awkward i used the wrong hand but he laughed it off ! he wrote my name on the poster we went letter by letter lol. told him he was my other bias and that i loved his singing and he appreciated it ! also mentioned they were my first group and he was really surprised but happy. he is literally SO handsome like i can’t stress that enough …. it made me like him even more lol like i was watching him the entire show
woojin - he was last in line and he was very nervous ! usually he’s one of the louder goofier members and we could see he was even acting that way outside of the fansign. when you sat in front of him he turned like stone cold 😭😭 i told him ab6ix is one of my favorite and first groups and that i love his vocals and i hoped he sang more. he didn’t say much just nodded a couple times and repeated a little of what i said - you most definitely had to lead the conversation which i understand ! he’s korean he does not speak english so i ofc don’t hold it against him it was just silly :) fansign by fansign i will get better at dealing w the two sided awkwardness. lil awkward but he’s handsome. he has a HUGE head might i add like biggest ive ever seen.

25th August - 1st September
Landed in SK at 5 in the goddamn morning, and it's just as hot as it was in the Philippines if not hotter. I still have my stupid shell coat on, but I have to suffer with it on because I have two bags, and handbag and a backpack to look after now. I walk through what feels like the entire length of the airport trying to find the taxi rink (there was no way I was going to try and access public transport like this, what a guaranteed sensory nightmare), and thank the lord that the hotel I need to go to is a popular enough destination that I can see the sign for taxis going to Bupyeong.
The taxi driver was a very sweet old man, and we desperately tried to communicate to each other. Eventually one of the rink officers had to be called, but then we were off!
This man! Drove like a F1 competitor! At one point he was going 140km/h. It's nice to know that taxi drivers are all the same worldwide, I guess.
I was worried I wouldn't be able to use my card in SK, and I would have to pay cash to this man, but luckily the card worked. The conversion fee is also not bad so I'm not even going to open up a Korean bank account or anything.
I go up to my room, battle with my HEAVY ass door, trying to push my luggage through. There's a raised metal threshold which is making that very difficult, and I'm almost in rage-tears at this point. When I make my way in, all I can do is stand in place under the airconditioning, trying to cool down, both physically and mentally. By this time it's around 6am and the breakfast buffet opens at 7am. I also have to go to Gangnam later to pick up some documents, but all I can think about it is sleeping. So I shower, take a nap, and wake up 7:30am, to go eat possibly the saddest breakfast in the world.
I'm so nervous to be there, and trying not to look confused and out of place, that I rush through the line super fast. The end result of my plate is... not pretty. I have a bunch of lettuce, some acorn jelly, two bits of seafood salad and plain rice. All I can say is that it was filling... but coincidentally, it's also the last time I go to the breakfast buffet. I had a fantastic view though from my seat, overlooking the plaza square below.
This was the first and last time I saw it so empty.
I eat my sad breakfast, and then decide to nap AGAIN before making my way over to Gangnam.
At around 1pm, I wake up from my nap and start my journey. Naver maps is incredibly helpful, and Seoul rail system is amazing and easy to understand. The efficiency reminds me of the London Underground, another amazing rail system. It takes almost 2 hours to get to my future accomodations... I see a humorous station.
My accomodations are also a 15 minute walk from the two closest stations... so I'm going to be getting those steps in no matter what. Once I pick my documents up, I decide to have lunch at a cafe, with considerably more appealing-looking food, in that it actually looks like a prepared dish, rather than a plateful of bare ingredients.
I adored the little ice cubes in my drink!! Something about it was so... Texture.
Once I finished I started walking back to the station, when I was stopped by a man (yes, he was cute).
Him: Excuse me--
Me: Yes?
Him: 혹시*... do you speak Korean?
Me: No, sorry 😅
Him: Ahh. Do you live around the area?
Me: No, sorry 🥹
*this means "by any chance" in Korean.
At this point we both smile embarrasedly at each other and walk away. In fact, he was smiling pleasantly the whole time, I think it might've just been me embarrassed at my lack of response.
Now... during this interaction, I thought he was eventually going to ask me for directions, so I was really surprised he didn't. And then I was really confused as to why he asked ME, a person who definitely does not look Korean, if I could speak Korean. On top of that, he was talking to me in English?? So language was not a barrier for him?? ON TOP OF THAT, there were some Korean men walking behind me that he could've asked these questions to? I'm actually baffled at that interaction and can't figure out his reasoning...
But can you believe that something stranger happened after that? The aforementioned group of Korean men ended up walking in front of me and look what I noticed them holding...
UM HELLO???? COLES??? IN MY NEIGHBOURHOOD??????? They were carrying MULTIPLE coles bags, and I checked!! Coles is not a supermarket in South Korea AND the men were definitely speaking Korean! SO I can only conclude that they recently travelled to Australia, or are Australians travelling from Australia, and decided to bring their trusty Coles bags with them. What???
The rest of the week is spent getting my sim card. On Tuesday (27th) I go to Sinchon, and see one of the loves of my life on a wall, and also a surprisingly apt name for a restaurant with a spicy menu:
Once I had my mobile, I did some necessity shopping at Daiso, and had lunch: tomato eggs and rice. Ugh, sooo fkn good, I still think about it (I'm typing this on the 15th of Sept, so that shit means something).
On Thursday I had a Banh Mi at the Vietnamese restaurant next door and it was okay... I've had better ones in Australia, which is crazy.
And then on Sunday I dropped my bags off at my Gangnam accomodation because uni was supposed to start on Monday, and I could not check in AND attend glasses, so my host very graciously offered to keep the bags at the accom and then I could check-in the next day. That worked so perfectly for me, I was ecstatic. I was so scared to ask her, because it felt like too big of a favour to ask, so the fact she offered first was amazing.

Emacity (PJM)
Emacity: The desire or fondness of buying
Part of the “Protect the Village!” Oneshot Series!
Masterlist
Pairing: DeliveryBoy!Jimin x Reader
Genre: Fluff, Romance, mutual pining (kinda)
Note: April will be my hibernation month lol
Summary: Whoever invented online shopping? A genius. Whoever hired Park Jimin to be the town’s delivery boy? An even bigger genius.
Word Count: 2.2k
You wouldn’t call yourself a shopaholic. It’s not like you had an addiction to the point of needing an intervention. You knew what was a dumb purchase and what was a personal purchase. You actively searched high and low for coupons and discounts. You never bought something that you knew would end up in the garbage after one use. You were a responsible shopper. But shopping was like a hobby.
You were lucky enough to have the money to spoil yourself. You worked a well-paying job as a translator for businesses that are trying to branch out to new countries while also offering online language classes to international students. Switching between Korean, English, Spanish, AND French usually gave you a headache. And trying to translate a word that didn’t really exist in other languages was exhausting, but it paid well.
And it gave you opportunities to see Jimin.
Park Jimin, Bangtan Village’s delivery boy. Worked at the post office seemingly 24/7 and is always voted employee of the month. Has a smile that’s permanently painted on his face and is as kind as a saint. What’s not to love about him? Besides that fact that his eyes sparkle with the same elegance as polished amber. Or the fact that his skin is perfectly smooth. Or that he emits an aura of confidence and stability.
Not that you know, but you can feel it. You and Jimin exchanged few words on the occasions when you get to see him. Simple, “Hey! How are you?” ’s and “Long time no see!” ‘s. But each word that reaches your ears are pieces of gold to you. You and Jimin didn’t really know each other, but you’d like to say that if you waved to him out in town, he’d wave back.
Your friend, Namjoon, liked to call you a lovesick idiot. Whenever you gushed to him about how Jimin smiled at you, he’d shake his head and say, “You’re a hopeless romantic and it’s tiring to me,” And today was like no other.
“I’m telling you, Namjoon! He has the cutest smile,” You sighed, watching your best friend work on his current project, Yoongi’s car. “I know, you’ve told me several times before,” He groaned, lifting his head from the machinery under the hood and looking at you with an unimpressed look. Absentmindedly wiping off his oily hands on his black stained hand towel.
“Why don’t you just talk to the dude? You know several languages yet you can’t communicate to a boy who speaks your native language?” He pointed out, leaning his hip up against the black car. “I may be able to chew you out in French, but I don’t speak ‘extrovert’” You argued back, a sly smirk on your face.
Namjoon rolled his eyes with a small smile, “You’re impossible,” He chuckled, “But you really should talk to him. You never know~ He may think you’re cute too~” He teased, dodging the spare hand towel you threw at him. “Stop teasing!” You whined, “You know I can’t, I’ll make a fool of myself and end up confessing to him in Spanish or something,” You groaned, slumping in your seat.
Namjoon tilted his head in confusion, “How do you accidentally switch to a whole other language,” He asked. “Trust me... It’s happened before...” You cringed, shivering at the less-than flattering memory. “Well... Maybe you should express it non-verbally?” He suggested, shrugging his shoulders nonchalantly as he went back to tampering with Yoongi’s car.
“I appreciate your advice, Joon, but I don’t think I can even work up the courage to confess, verbally or not.” You sighed, giving Namjoon a somber look to which he responded with a comforting smile. Namjoon went back to work and you checked the time on your phone. 2:22pm.
“Shoot, I gotta go,” You said, standing up and grabbing your bag. “Why? I thought you didn’t teach on Wednesdays?” Namjoon asked, still working on the car. “I don’t but, I’m expecting a package,” You smiled to yourself. “You memorized when Jimin comes to deliver your packages? That’s kinda creepy Y/n,” Namjoon insinuated, squinting his eyes at you.
You gasped, “Is not! I’ve just noticed that he always comes around 3pm... and I want to be there when my new keyboard comes.” You crossed your arms in defence. “Mhmm, go on then,” Namjoon chuckled, and you stomped your way out of his workshop back to your house.
You wait anxiously for a knock on your door. You sit on the couch, fiddling with the blanket that was draped over your lap. If you were being honest with yourself, you were more excited about seeing Jimin than getting your new peach-pink keyboard to complete your soft pastel desk setup.
You knew Namjoon was right about you being a lovesick idiot; you were in deep, and you haven’t even hung out with the man! You scoffed to yourself, shaking your head at the way his smile made your heart rate pick up and palms clammy. Maybe you could take Namjoon’s advice and invite him on a date. Not necessarily come completely clean and admit you were head over heels, but ease your way in instead.
Only problem is, you didn’t quite know how to do that...
The long awaited knock finally sounded through your tiny house, and you stood up quicker than you should as blood rushed to your head, making you feel dizzy. Shaking it off, you go over to your door, opening it to reveal the very man you’ve been wanting to see all day. “Hey! What’s up Y/n?” Jimin greeted you with a smile, a small brown package under his arm.
“Hi Jimin, I’m doing good... What about you?” You asked, leaning up against the doorway. “I’m good, it’s a nice day out today,” He sighed, handing the package out for you, “Here you go! Your weekly package,” He joked, making you give him a lovesick smile that made you look like the woozy emoji. “T-Thanks,” You chuckled nervously.
“No problem,” Jimin said. “Hey um Jimin...” You called before he could walk away. “Yes?” Jimin inquired, raising an eyebrow. Shoot, what do you say? You didn’t think this through you.. You can’t just invite him out like a normal human, what if he says no? “I um- What’s your... favorite food...?” You asked, cringing at how pathetically shy you sounded. Jimin’s eyebrows knit together in confusion and he chuckled. “I like strawberry Pocky’s a lot,” He stressed, licking his lips at the thought.
You nodded, writing that down in your head for later. Maybe you could do something with this. “Cool, cool. Well, um, have a nice day!” You said, walking back into your house, package in hand, leaving Jimin confused and amused. “What a girl...” He whispers to himself, smile, like always, never leaving his face.
You continue to buy little things online just as an excuse to talk to Jimin. Who needs a mini cactus? You, apparently. And that chick plush you saw on Instagram? Boom, it now lives on your bed. Whenever he comes around, you take the opportunity to ask him questions like what his favorite color was or if he was allergic to anything.
You were planning something for him, and he was catching on. Sure, your questions were usually unprompted, but he’d humor you any day of the week. He may not know exactly what you were planning, but all he hoped was that it would change his life forever. And it would.
You were almost done with Jimin’s mini basket of favorites. A blue basket that held his favorite snack foods, stickers from his favorite shows, and some of those chunky rings he likes. Sure, maybe it was a bit excessive. Maybe this was teetering the line of weird and sweet, and you knew that bribing your way into a relationship was definitely not the way to go. But you just wanted to be nice.
Maybe buying things for others was your love language, or maybe Jimin was just worth spoiling. It was probably both. Whatever the real answer was, it didn’t matter to you. You just wanted Jimin to be happy.
Even if meticulously fiddling with the basket made you want to pull your hair out as the bow never looked quite right. Realistically you know it wouldn’t matter in the end and that Jimin would likely take the bow off after he received it, but you still adjusted it until it was perfect.
“Yeah, yeah, laugh all you want, Joon,” You sighed as you heard Namjoon hysterically laughing on the other side of the phone. “You’re going to bribe him into going on a date with you?” He asked, out of breath. “No! I just want to be nice,” You bit back, rolling your eyes even if Namjoon couldn’t see you. “Wow, the irony of Jimin delivering the gifts that your going to end up giving back,” Namjoon chuckled, finally calming down.
“Look, I’m just trying to follow your advice,” You whined, finally giving up on the navy blue bow and leaving it be. “True, I was thinking about a banner or something though. Like a cheesy promposal,” Namjoon said, and you could hear the undertones in his words. What he really wanted to say was, “How dramatic could you be? This is too much honey,”
Groaning, you flopped down on your couch, mumbling into the cushions. “I think I’m going to give it to him today, I have another mini cactus coming today,” You said, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness swirl in your stomach at the thought of finally asking the man you’ve been pining over out on a date. “That’s great! He’ll definitely say yes,” Namjoon said excitedly, trying to keep your fragile spirits intact. Knowing that if anything goes wrong, you’ll chicken out immediately.
“Yeah, I can do this,” You smiled, looking at the clock on your oven. “It’s 2:30, I have to go prepare. I’ll call you after!” You said, exchanging your goodbyes with Namjoon and hanging up the phone to go clean yourself up a little bit.
You weren’t terribly worried about your appearance. Jimin had seen you in coffee stained sweats and hoodies. There wasn’t anything worse than that. So you opted for a simple t-shirt and legging combo, washing your face and touching up your hair a bit. “Now to wait,” You whispered to yourself as you sat on the couch with the basket in your lap.
While you waited on the couch for Jimin to arrive, you looked at the mini cactus that sat on your coffee table and chuckled. Usually you bought things that may seem random to an outside person. A mouse that looks like a cat's paw, a throw pillow that doubles as a blanket, random earrings. But never a mini cactus.
After you asked all the questions you could think of and bought everything that you thought Jimin would like, you didn’t have an excuse to keep seeing Jimin. So, like a normal person, you bought little knickknacks. Hence the mini cactus and it’s new friend that’s on the way today.
Knock knock knock
“Well, your new buddy’s here lil’ cactus dude,”
Taking a deep breath, you stood up and walked over to the door, hiding the basket behind your back. “Hello, Y/n,” Jimin smiled as you opened the door for him. “Hey,” You smiled back, tightening your grip on the basket behind you. “Here you go, another odd stationary?” Jimin guessed as he held out the package for you and you took it with one hand, placing it down behind the door.
“I guess you could say that,” You chuckled, nervously shifting on your feet. “Speaking of... I have something for you,” You mumbled, but loud enough for Jimin to hear. “Is it another impromptu question? You haven’t asked one in awhile,” He chuckled, his cute eyes upturning into crescents.
“Close your eyes to find out,” You said.
“Close my eyes? Is this the part where you murder me?” Jimin teased, causing you to playfully roll your eyes.
“No... just close them,” You whined.
“Alright, I’ll close them,” Jimin relented, closing his eyes at your request. Taking another shaky deep breath, you took the basket out from behind your back and held it in front of you. “Open...” You whispered.
Once Jimin opened his eyes, he let out a cute gasp, eyes lighting up at the sign of the gift. “W-What’s this?” He asked, looking up at you with a huge smile on his face. “It’s um, all your favorites. Jimin’s basket of favorites,” You declared, holding the basket out for Jimin to take, which he happily did. “Y/n, this is amazing. What’s the special occasion?” He asked, looking down at the assorted gifts and snacks.
“You’re always making me smile, so I wanted to return the favor,” You shrugged in an attempt to look casual about it. “Really? I make you smile?” Jimin smirked, making your cheeks heat up. “Y-Yeah you do...” You admitted, kicking at the rocks on your porch. “You’re such a sweet girl, Y/n, cute too,” Jimin whispered to you, causing your breath to hitch.
“C-Cute?”
“Yep, you’re a cutie,” Jimin said, booping your nose.
“Would you um... Let this cutie ask you out to lunch?” You asked.
“Most definitely,”
“Park Jimin, do you want to grab lunch sometime?”
“It’s a date, cutie,”

SHINee scenario: Them falling for a foreigner and confessing in s/o’s native language
(Hiyaa!!! I just saw you opened your requests Can you do a Shinee scenario of them falling for a foreigner and they try to confess their feelings in s/i'd native language please?! Thanks!)
Requested by kdrama-i-nation
- Hope this is oki~ ❤️I don’t speak all the languages I chose so I’m so sorry in advance if I made any mistake or missused a phrase in any way 🙈
Taemin:
When you and Taemin met you were living and studying in Korea as an international student and the two of you happened to be attending the same university. You met on campus as you had a class together, which led to you talking and also studying together every now and again.
It was a simple friendship at first and even if Taemin was a bit shy around you he was also rather curious and didn’t restrain from asking questions about your country and culture. Every so often he also asked you to teach him different phrases or words in your native language, which he would try his best to replicate. You found it cute and quickly became fond of him that way.
One afternoon as you were studying together for an upcoming exam he got distracted trying to learn more words of your language, which didn’t really surprise you. However, one phrase that he briefly and shyly uttered definetely did.
“Me encantas.”
Since it wasn’t a phrase you had taught him it made you look at him in question and wonder if it was his way of confessing that he likes you. You quickly realized from the nervous look on his face and his red-stained cheeks that it was definitely the case, which made you smile before you quickly told him that you liked him as well.
Since you used your own language he didn’t understand at first and you then repeated it in korean along with a small laugh because of the adorable ‘ah’ he emitted. He also lit up with a smile, the beaming smile that you were particularly fond of, and it made you smile as well before you both shyly tried to return to studying.
(Spanish)
Minho:
Minho was actually someone you were familiar with long before the two of you started dating. Although you weren’t a singer as he was you were still part of the same large industry and had worked together on multiple occasions. It was mostly for concerts and other events SHINee had in your country where you had a vital part and often worked very close to them.
After a few years of meeting occasionally in that manner and gradually getting to know each other Minho gathered courage and then nervously confessed that he wished to meet you outside of work and perhaps even take you out on an actual date. It surprised you at first but since you also had interest in him, you agreed and that’s essentially how it all started.
Fast forward another year and you were now dating comfortably. It was a simple but sincere relationship and because you lived and worked in different countries it was at distance mostly but that didn’t affect the strong bond that had been built between you.
Since he knew your language rather well, it was normal for you to communicate with it. Even so, it would still surprise you to hear him wholeheartedly confess how he felt deep down in your native tone, especially as he used a very formal and straightforward phrase.
”愛してる (aishiteru).”
The way he uttered those words in a shy but determined manner instantly made you smile and find him rather adorable. Especially as you realized he must’ve been holding onto them for several months while waiting for you to be able to meet up in person again.
Of course, you didn’t hesitate to return those words to him along with a long and sweet hug to amplify the significance they held.
(Japanese)
Key:
You and Kibum met in the city of love, though your first encounter was anything but romantic.
It took place at a fashion event you were both attending where you ended up fighting over a certain item since you couldn’t agree on who had actually gotten their hands on it first. Kibum, being the stubborn diva he is, won that fight which left you holding a grudge and thinking he was rude and despicable.
However, that changed as you coincidentally met at different events and you realized he was actually an interesting person. Although his personality could seem loud and nonchalant at first he was exceptionally warm-hearted and intellectual once you got to know him and both sides were ones you grew fond of.
In a turn of events you exchanged social media and stayed in touch even as he returned to Korea. Since he was fluent in English that’s how you would communicate, either through messaging or occasional video calls. You would also meet up whenever he returned to your city and there was also a time you flew out to visit him in Seoul.
Now, you had been dating for over a year and Kibum was once again back in your city. It was a cool summer evening as you sat down on a patch of grass by the river and he pulled you to his side to place a gentle kiss on your cheek.
“Je veux passer plus de temps avec toi.”
The sudden phrase in your native language had you turn to him in a mix of surprise and confusion, since you had never really heard him say anything besides simple everyday words before.
“Je t’aime.” He then continued with a warm smile and although it wasn’t actually the first time he told you those meaningful words it still felt that way since it was in your own language this time and in the heart of your own city, which made it all the more special.
(French)
Jonghyun:
While living and working in Korea you would use your free time to explore the beautiful city of Seoul and find new places to visit and spend time at. There was a handful that you fell in love with instantly and ended up visiting on a regular basis.
One of those places was a secluded bookstore that also worked as a small coffee shop. That’s where you met Jonghyun for the first time and where your relationship essentially started.
Since you were both frequent guests, you ran into each other often and ended up talking and getting to know each other, which quickly evolved into you exchanging numbers and then planning out your meetings beforehand.
It was simple at first. Using a mix of English and Korean you would speak about yourselves, your different lives and your interests. Although you were from completely different parts of the world the two of you were similar in many ways and both especially enjoyed the many different forms of arts, including music and literature.
Even after you started dating and had done so for several months you would still find yourself coming back to the same secluded coffee shop where you first met and talk about everything and anything. It had always been a special place to you but it would take on a whole new level of significance when it also became the place where he first confessed how he truly felt about you.
“Ich liebe dich.”
The fact that he decided to use your native language to express his feelings made you feel warm inside and perhaps even fall in love with him all over again.
Your relocation to Korea was only meant to be temporary, but after meeting Kim Jonghyun you really considered the idea of staying permanently.
(German)
Onew:
You and Onew essentially met through work after you had taken part in a SM writing camp as a producer and some of the tracks you participated in making were picked for an upcoming SHINee album.
While working alongside them in the studio you and Onew instantly gravitated towards one another. Neither of you could really explain why but you both developed an interest that way and eventually started seeing each other outside of the studio.
Although there was a language barrier you didn’t need to talk excessively to understand one another but instead communicated through body language, simple English or the fraction of Korean you had managed to learn.
The only language you didn’t use was your own and it stayed like that for most of your relationship. Therefore, it definitely surprised you when Onew came to visit you in your country and seemingly brought a vocabulary of your native language with him. In fact, he uttered several words and phrases during his stay that he had studied on his own beforehand and you definitely found it very sweet of him.
Though, out of all the phrases he had learned there was one in particular that stood out and caught you off guard when he nervously uttered it one night while you were walking home after a date night. It consisted of three very meaningful words, portraying his deep and sincere feelings for you.
“Jag älskar dig.”
After a brief moment of silence and staring at him in surprise you smiled and uttered the same words in return, with an addition of a ‘too’, indicating that you felt the same way.
He then smiled and squeezed your hand a bit tighter for the rest of your walk through the city.

Well here it is! The first chapter. This will be a Yoongi x reader fic and a soulmate AU. I am not sure how many chapters or how long it will be. I’m just going to kind of roll with it and see where it goes. This first part is a little short just to kind of introduce the story. I hope you enjoy!
Summary: Soulmates have different ways of being connected to one another. Sometimes it’s through being able to write on their arms and having it show up on their soulmates. For others it was having their first words spoken to one another permanently tattooed into their skin. You had a unique connection with yours, one that you really hadn’t ever heard of happening before. Whatever song was stuck in your soulmate’s head was also stuck in yours and the same was for them. When Yoongi realizes one of his songs is playing on repeat in your head, he immediately takes to writing songs to communicate with you in hopes it will finally bring you two together.
Genre: Fluff. Just pure tooth rotting, sweet fluff.
Part 2
“Hyung? Yoongi?…. HYUNG!” Yoongi snapped his gaze to Jimin and blinked his eyes, rapidly trying to clear the confusion that was fogging his brain. It had been like that all day, him finding it difficult to concentrate on much of anything. The music in the studio and the sounds of the members talking just serving as background noise to what was replaying in his head. Yoongi pinches the bridge of his nose and shakes his head back and forth, trying to focus on what is happening around him.
“Huh? Sorry, Jimin. What did you say?”
“It’s your turn to record your rap for the new song.”
“Ah, right…” Yoongi’s sighs and wonders how on earth he is going to be able to focus enough to record when all he has been hearing is Gwen Stefani’s Holla Back Girl on repeat in his head. “This shit is gonna drive me fucking bananas.” Jimin giggles.
“Your soulmate again?”
“Yeah. I really wonder what kind of person they are with their questionable taste in music.”
“If they’re your soulmate then I am sure they are a great person hyung.” Yoongi’s sighs.
“I know. I just wish things were easier you know? You have a connection with your soulmate by whatever you write on your skin showing up on each other so you found one another very easily. I am just kind of stuck hoping someday we will be humming the same song and realize we’re each other’s soulmates.” Jimin can tell he’s feeling discouraged by the way he looks away and sighs for what must be the 10th time in the past minute.
“Hey now. Fate always has a way of bringing us together. I have No Doubt you two will meet each other soon.” Jimin says with a quirk of his eyebrows. Yoongi glowers at him.
“Did you just… I hate you. You’ve been hanging around Jin too much.” Jimin bursts out laughing and shoves Yoongi towards the studio.
“Go record your vocals hyung!”
You glare at your best friend as the moment you two get in the car she starts blaring Gwen Stefani.
“You really like to torture me and my soulmate don’t you?”
“Oh come on y/n it’s hilarious. You two share a connection through the music you listen to. We might as well mess with your soulmate a little bit. I’m sure they have a good sense of humor.”
“It seems like they mostly listen to rap and hip hop though you’re probably torturing the poor thing getting those songs stuck in my head all the time. Can’t we just give them a little break?” Your friend sighs and turns the radio down.
“Okay. Maybe I can play nice today.”
“Thank you.” You sit in silence the rest of the way, listening to just the background noise of the car running along the pavement on your way to the cafe. A new song enters your head, it’s pleasant. A melody and song you’ve never heard before. The voice singing it is deep and raspy and you find that you immediately feel at peace and comforted by the sound.
“Huh.. That’s weird.”
“What is it?”
“I’ve never heard this song before. I’ve never heard this voice before either. It’s nice...Really nice.”
“What are the lyrics saying?”
“To be honest I don’t know.. it’s in another language. Korean it sounds like. Does that mean my soulmate is Korean?”
“Could be! Can you understand any of the words?”
“Something about “That would be my first death… I’ve been always afraid of? There is some English.”
“Well write it down! Maybe you can find out some more information about them.”
“Just based on a song?”
“If it’s new and you’ve never heard it before maybe it’s something they wrote. Maybe your soulmate is an idol or a music producer?” You pull your phone out and write down the English lyrics you are able to pick up on. You enter a search into google but come back with nothing. “I got nothing. And I highly doubt my soulmate would be an idol.”
“Why do you think that?”
“Because there’s just no way!”
“If you start talking badly about yourself I will hit you.” You laugh and offer your friend a small smile.
“No no it’s not like that. I just don’t see how an idol could be my soulmate. That’s just ridiculous. That would be more likely for you since you are such a die hard fan of many groups.”
“I keep telling you to listen to kpop and give it a chance!”
“Well.. maybe now I will.”
“Okay this is weird.”
“What’s weird?”
“It’s quiet… Very quiet. There is no song stuck in my head when usually there is always something. What if something happened to my soulmate?” Yoongi has been pacing around the studio for the last 20 minutes. When the music suddenly stopped he had a moment of panic. Namjoon had come by to try and reason with him, but he wasn’t having it. “What if they’re in a coma? Or what if they fainted and no one is there to help them? What if-“
“Yoongi. Calm down. Maybe they just decided to give you a break from all the songs they have been subjecting you to and are letting you have some quiet time. Isn’t that what you wanted?”
“Well, I wanted them to have different songs stuck in their head but not just complete silence!” Yoongi huffs and flops down on his couch, head lolling back to stare at the ceiling. He closes his eyes and concentrates, trying to hear even some semblance of a melody playing in his head. Namjoon reaches over and pats his thigh.
“I’m sure it’ll be fine, Yoongi. They say if something bad happens to your soulmate your chest will actually ache and it will feel like a piece of you is breaking away. Is your chest hurting?” Yoongi shakes his head.
“Then they’re fine. I promise. You should go home and get some rest. Your comeback trailer is released tomorrow.” Yoongi feels relief wash over him as he sinks into the couch.
“Thank you, Namjoon.”
“Of course. I’m always here for you, never forget that okay?” He walks out of the studio, leaving Yoongi alone with his thoughts. He just wants to meet you already. He’s getting impatient, but he’s stuck. There is nothing more he wants than to finally be able to hug you and hold you tightly in his arms and tell you how much he loves you. It’s weird to him, knowing absolutely nothing about a person, not even their name but feeling like they’re your entire world.
“Please. Whatever force of fate in the universe is listening. I just want to meet my soulmate soon.” He’s lost in his thoughts for a while longer until a familiar melody starts playing in his head and he immediately bursts out laughing with a fond smile on his face.
“I told you you’d like this song!”
“Okay you were right. It’s amazing. It’s very catchy. Oh gosh it’s gonna be stuck in my head now. I hope my soulmate likes Got7.”
“I’m sure they love them! Who wouldn’t?!”
“Can we listen to more?”
“Of course!”
You spend the afternoon listening to Got7 with your friend. When a new video catches your eye.
“What group is that?”
“Oh? BTS? You’ve heard of them. I showed you their interview before remember?”
“Ah yeah, I remember now. Can we watch a music video of theirs?”
“Of course! Their comeback trailer is tomorrow why don’t we watch it then?”
“But I want to watch them now. That one is really cute.” You say with a slight pout on your face.
“The one with the bandana?”
“Yeah. Who’s he?”
“Ah that’s Min Yoongi! Or his stage name is Suga. It’s actually his comeback trailer that is dropping tomorrow. Which means we have to be up at oh.. 5 in the morning? You need your rest! We can watch more tomorrow.” You huff and flop backwards onto the bed. You lay there for a moment, wondering why you felt something similar to electricity zapping through you just by hearing his name.
“Min Yoongi, huh?” There it is again. Your blood beginning to feel like it’s heating up under your skin. “Well I can’t wait to hear what he has in store tomorrow.”

NCT′s reaction to their S/O struggling to learn their native language
This is kind of long so I’ve put it behind a cut for everyone - Lilly x
TAEIL
Taeil really loved you, even if most of the time he had to try really, really hard to understand what you are saying. He was always supportive of you, though, and he always did what he could to help you learn Korean, as well as trying to learn your own language himself.
One night, he walked over to your flat after practice, just because he wanted to see you. He knew where you hid your spare key, and let himself in, but you weren’t anywhere to be seen. He checked around for a while until he heard sniffling coming from your room. As soon as he opened your bedroom door and saw you sat on your bed, a Korean book on your lap, he knew why you were crying.
“Are you okay?” As soon as you heard Taeil speak in your language, you looked up, giving him a full look at your tear stained face. “Oh, (Y/N).” His voice was filled with sympathy as he opened his arms, inviting you for a hug.
“Its so hard, Taeil.” You cried, trying to get your words across in Korean.
“I know, baby.”
JOHNNY
He thought that you learning English for him was the most romantic thing anyone could ever do. Even though you two were already able to communicate in Korean, you wanted to impress him by learning his other language. He knew you were doing it, and tried to help as much as he could, but he had to admit he found it so cute when you struggled.
That was until one day he’d found you at the dorms, sat down with Mark practising. For a few moments everything was going well, and Johnny’s heart swelled with pride. That was until you made a mistake, and then another, and then another. Mark could see you were getting upset and tried to console you with an awkward hug, but it didn’t work.
“Baby, its okay.” Johnny spoke from behind you, making you jump and look at him. “Listen, I really appreciate your effort, but if you’re finding it too hard, you don’t have to learn English.” You just nodded at him, taking in what he’d just said.
“I want to Johnny. For you.”
TAEYONG
He’d find it so sweet that you were trying to learn Korean for him. Every time you spoke it, no matter how bad it was, his heart would be so full of love and he’d just listen to whatever you were trying to say. He always hated correcting you because he didn’t want to make you feel upset about getting things wrong, even though you’d told him on multiple occasions that that is the only way you were going to learn.
You were speaking to him his once, concentrating on what you were saying to the point where it was the only thing you were thinking about. The words came out slow so you didn’t make a mistake, but Taeyong listened carefully to everything you said, taking it all in. It reached the point where you knew what you wanted to say, you just couldn’t say it, and you began fumbling over your words. Taeyong watched as tears came to your eyes and you began to pull on your hair in frustration.
“Hey, it doesn’t matter, baby.” His voice was soft and soothing, and his words were said slowly enough for you to understand them. “We can translate it together, okay?” You nodded slowly, still upset with yourself for messing up.
“Thank you.”
YUTA
When he first heard you practising Japanese, he would be so excited. It would be so much easier for the two of you to communicate if you could speak Japanese. He gave you all the help he could by enrolling some of the other members who new small amounts of Japanese to help with your learning when he was busy. When he wasn’t busy, he’d sit with you for hours and help you with everything he could.
It was late at night and you sat on Yuta’s bed, ignoring Taeil’s presence as you read through a Japanese book Yuta bought you. Your eyes scanned over the words, trying to take in as much as you could, but you were finding it difficult. Reading the language was so much harder than speaking it, and the process of figuring it out was taking its toll on you. You had already complained to Taeil multiple times, but when you burst into tears, he had no idea what to do other than call Yuta and ask him to come home and see you.
“Baby, what’s wrong?” Yuta ran into his room to find you exactly how Taeil had described. There were wet patches on the book he’d given you from where your tears had dripped onto it, and Yuta’s heart sank. He’d only meant to help, but he’d ended up making you upset. “I’m so sorry, (Y/N). I didn’t mean for you to feel forced to learn Japanese.” A small laugh left you mouth, surprising your boyfriend.
“It’s okay, Yuta. It’s just really, really hard.”
KUN
When he first learned you were teaching yourself his language, he was concerned. He knew that you liked getting things right first time, and he knew that for someone who didn’t speak Chinese, it was a hard language to learn. That being said, he also knew you were extremely stubborn and so let you get on with it, hoping that it didn’t upset you too much.
It turns out his worst fears came true. When he heard a cry of frustration from his dorm room, he instantly got up from where he was sat with the rest of WAYV and went to see if you were alright. When he found you, you were sat on his bed with your back to the wall, breathing heavily through your nose in frustration. Kun couldn’t deny that he felt bad for you, even though he had warned you that is was a difficult language to learn. Next thing you knew, he was sat next to you, his arms wrapped around your waist, hugging you as tight as he could.
“I don’t want to say I told you so, but I might have to.” You let out a heavy sigh in response, making him laugh, finding you cute. “I know it’s hard, but I can help if you want. I’d suggest Hendery, but I think he was enoguh on his hands with teaching Ten.” The two of you laughed at this.
“I’d rather you teach me anyway.”
DOYOUNG
He felt so honoured to hear you speaking Korean for the first time, so much so that he almost barged in on you and your teacher to express hi love and gratitude. He understood that neither you nor Johnny would appreciate you disrupting the lesson, though, so he just left it and decided to tell you another day, when the two of you were less busy and he had time to properly thank you.
This day didn’t come for a few weeks, due to you having work and him having practice, but the one day that you did manage to see him, you couldn’t hold back your excitement to tell him your not-so-secret secret. When you saw him, you greeted him in Korean, making him grin wider than you think you’d ever seen before, and he began to thank you. You appreciated it very much, but you couldn't help but get confused with how quick he was speaking. All the words began to merge into one making you sigh. You’d clearly not practised enough.
“What’s wrong?” His voice was soft as he scanned you face for any indication of why your mood suddenly dropped. “Was I talking too fast?” You nodded.
“I just need a bit more practice, that’s all.”
TEN
Ten amazed you; he could speak five languages whereas you were struggling to speak two. When he first heard that you were trying to learn Thai for him, he was so thankful, but for you it seemed like something you simply had to do. He spoke your native language so why shouldn’t you speak his? Quite often, thoughts ran through your head, telling you that you were selfish for making him be the one who had to work hard to communicate with you.
When he arrived at your lat one night, he hadn’t expected to see you speaking broken Thai to yourself in the kitchen whilst you cooked. He almost laughed at how cute you were until he heard a shout come from the kitchen. He walked over to you, only to hear you cursing yourself out in your native language. He felt awful, as if in someway he’d been the one to force you to learn Thai.
“I hope you don’t mean everything you just said about yourself, baby.” His voice shocked you, making you jump and spin around to look at him. “You don’t have to learn Thai, you know. It’s not like we can’t already speak to each other.”You smiled at him, understanding what he was saying, but not agreeing with it.
“You speak five languages, Ten. At least let me try to learn this one for you.”
JAEHYUN
He loved helping you learn Korean. Of course he loved it when you spoke in your native language, or English, but there was something about hearing you speak Korean that made him weak at the knees. That was why he was so desperate to help you learn his language, even though you could communicate with each other perfectly fine already.
He was sat with you, going through your Korean book with you, although ‘going through’ is a bit of an overstatement. He chose this time instead to stare at you whilst he listened to the beautiful way you spoke. That was until a sniffle broke him out of his trance. He noticed a tear making it’s way down your cheek and gently wiped it away, shushing you gently.
“I’m never going to get it right, Jae.” you spoke, trying to hold back the sob that was pushing its way up your throat. “I should just give up now.” He shook his head, taking you in his arms and swaying from side to side.
“You can’t give up now. You speaking Korean is my favourite sound of all time, baby.”
WINWIN
In Winwin’s opinion, you were the most adorable person on the planet, especially when you tried to speak Chinese to him. He would always listen carefully to what you were trying to say, trying to decipher the what the words you were saying were supposed to mean. Sometimes he would tease you about it, making the both of you laugh before you got back to work with trying to improve.
What Winwin didn’t know was how upset you get whenever he made a comment about you not being able to speak Chinese very well. You were trying your hardest, and you knew that Winwin knew that, but you couldn’t help but take it to heart. Every time he made a comment, you would immediately get back to work, trying to improve so maybe next time, you wouldn’t feel so bad when you tried to speak to him.
“That was cute, baby, but what did you say?” He laughed slightly, expecting to hear you laugh too, but instead all he got was a sigh and a nod before you tried to head back to your books to practice some more. “What’s wrong?” He asked, making you stop and turn to him, shaking you head. You didn’t want to speak, afraid that the sob you were holding back would decide to break free.
“I’m fine, Winnie.” You spoke, hoping you’d be fine, but instead you felt your eyes getting teary and the sob broke free. Winwin instantly felt bad for teasing you; he didn’t mean to upset you.
“I’m so sorry, (Y/N)”
JUNGWOO
The most common sounds in your flat were your cries of frustration when you couldn't pronounce a word correctly, or remember a phrase you’d spent hours going over the day before. Jungwoo was used to this sound, and although he hated it, he knew that you wouldn’t listen to him if he told you that you didn’t need to learn Korean.
The truth was, you didn’t need to learn it. Jungwoo had been learning your language and was already really good at it. That didn’t stop you though. You wanted to prove to yourself that you were capable of learning another language, which was something you’d wanted to do for a while now. The Korean book you were reading was hard to get your head around, though, and you couldn’t help but let out a loud shout of frustration, making Jungwoo run towards the sound, relieved that it was frustration that caused it and not pain.
“If it makes you this angry, you really should stop. I don’t like seeing you so upset, (Y/N)” You just shook your head at him and picked the book up again, trying to read the words in front of you. “Fine, just take a break then. Come and watch a film with me and take your mind of of Korean all together.” He knew you couldn’t resist watching a film with him.
“As long as I get to chose the film.”
LUCAS
When you first tried speaking Chinese to him it was like his brain had stopped working. You sounded so cute the way you were speaking so slowly and trying so hard to say the words correctly. He loved the fact that you wanted to speak to him, but he was kind of upset that he never saw you when you were trying to teach yourself the language. That would be so cute, right?
Lucas could not have been further from the truth. The way you cried over text books at midnight and pulled your hair in frustration was most definitely not cute, and you did not want him to see that side of you. Unfortunately, you didn’t get what you wanted as one day, Lucas showed up to your home unannounced and you parents let him straight in. He walked up to your room, just in time to hear you let out a scream in frustration before you broke down into tears. Obviously your boyfriend panicked, storming into your room only to see you illuminated by the light of your computer screen.
“What’s wrong, sweetheart?” He rushed over to you, trying to get a look at what was on your screen. When he saw that you were on Duolingo having a Chinese lesson, his heart sank. Why would you do something that made you so upset?
“It’s just so hard, Lucas.”
MARK
English was such a strange language to you. Why did read and read not sound the same? Why did red sound the same as read but not read? Mark was no help either. The word ‘like’ was dotted throughout his sentences making everything he said that bit more confusing for you. Every sentence that came out of his mouth required you to use your full concentration to work out what he was saying.
Mark had noticed this though, and tried to make what he was saying simpler for you, but that still wasn’t enough. It got easier for sure, but you still found it so much more difficult when listening to Mark than when you were listening to Jaehyun or Johnny. So much so that one day, you just stopped trying to understand what he was saying half way through his sentence and just broke down. Mark was shocked to say the least; this was completely unexpected.
“Um... baby?” He questioned, his voice sounding unsure. He’d switched back to Korean to make sure you understood what he was saying to you. “Are you okay?” You shook your head, making his sigh and just hold you tightly until you’d calmed down enough to speak to him.
“I just takes so much effort to understand what you’re saying.” He nodded, understanding where you were coming from; he was known for going on tangents.
“I’ll make it easier for you next time, baby.”
XIAOJUN
Xiaojun would tell you immediately that you really didn’t have to learn Chinese for him, even though he knew you’d ignore him. Once he realised that whatever he said wouldn’t stop you, he helped you as much as he could by finding whatever resources he could. He liked sitting with you whilst you were learning, just so he could help when you got things wrong.
He was sat next to you, both of you leaning over the book he’d bought you. Every so often, he’d point to a word and ask you to say it, and each time you’d get it slightly wrong, getting more and more upset with each word he pointed at. He pointed at another one. You tried saying it, knowing it was wrong the moment is left your mouth.
“No. I think you just need to work on your pronunciation a little bit.” You let out a heavy sigh at his words and slammed the book shut. His eyes were filled with worry and you hunched over the shut book with your head in you hands. “Are you okay?” His voice was quiet as he spoke.
“Not really. I’ll try to get better.” You said, voice equally as quiet, but you had a slight edge to yours when you spoke.
“You know it doesn’t matter to me whether you get better or not, don’t you.”
HENDERY
Hendery had no clue you were learning Chinese, but he was suspicious of why you were spending so much time with YangYang. He knew the two of you were close, but he found it strange that you’d always be with him when he came back to the dorms. He trusted you, so he tried not to jump to conclusions, but it was difficult, especially when he saw you coming out of YangYang and Xiaojun’s room one day.
He didn’t want to confront you about it, but he wanted closure and that was the only way to do it. One day he made his way back to the dorms earlier than usual so he could talk to you, only to walk in and see you and YangYang sat at the table speaking in Chinese. Yours obviously needed a lot of work, and suddenly it dawned on Hendery; YangYang was helping you.
“I’m back.” Hendery spoke, a certain cheerful tone in his voice. The sound made you jump. Hendery was never home this early.
“What are you doing home so early?” You spoke in your native language, not being that advanced in Chinese just yet. Hendery wandered over to you and looked at the book in front of you, smiling at how cute your handwriting was when you wrote in Chinese.
“I just wanted to see my girlfriend.”
RENJUN
When you first brought up learning Chinese to Renjun, he was over the moon. He would finally be able to speak to his girlfriend easily. It didn’t take him long, however, to realise that you absolutely hated it. In your eyes, Chinese was the hardest language to grasp, and you’d spent so long going over the same few words and phrases that you were close to the point of giving up.
When Renjun got back from practice, he didn’t expect to see you in tears, talking to Chenle about how hard it was. Chenle was very good at comforting people, so Renjun was glad that you were with him rather than another dreamie. As soon as Chenle noticed your boyfriend by the door, he left, leaving Renjun to comfort you instead.
“I’m sorry if you felt like you had to learn Chinese for me. I didn’t mean to force you into anything.” You shook your head, letting Renjun know that non of this was his fault, you were just struggling. “If there’s anything I can do to help, let me know.” Once again, you shook your head and made eye contact with him.
“I’m fine. I just need a little bit more practice.”
JENO
His brain would just stop whenever he heard you speak Korean. He never thought you could get any more perfect than you already were, but then you started saying sentences in his native language and he died inside. How could you be so cute? Sometimes when you spoke Korean, he wouldn’t properly listen to what was being said, but instead he would listen to how the words sounded in your accent.
He’d even found it cute when you got frustrated about learning Korean. Normally you’d just sulk for a while, not minding when he giggled at you for being moody, but this time was different. You’d been sat for 3 hours straight, trying to get your head around something, and it just wasn’t going in. At first, you let out a few groans of frustration, but as soon as you heard Jeno begin to chuckle at your predicament. You slammed the book shut and left the room, going somewhere to cool off.
“Baby?” you heard the pitter patter of his feet before you heard his voice, making you aware of his presence before he even spoke. You didn’t reply to him, still upset. You heard a sigh from him, and he turned to walk away until he heard you speak.
“I’m sorry. I’ve just been working so hard on it and it kind of upset me when you laughed.” Jeno nodded, completely understanding what you were saying. Maybe he had been a bit insensitive.
“You don’t need to apologise, baby. I should be the one saying sorry.”
HAECHAN
He would be so loud about the fact that you were learning to speak Korean Soon enough every single member would know about how hard you were trying to be able to speak Korean, and some of the multilingual members would even offer to help. Every time, you would decline, feeling bad about taking up their time. Truth be told, you did need help, but you didn’t want to put unnecessary pressure on your friends.
One day, Haechan walked over to your house to pester you again about accepting his members’ help with learning his language, but as soon as he walked into your room and saw you crying at your desk, all his previous intentions went out of the window. His main priority now was comforting you, which he was incredibly good at.
“You okay?” His hand stroked your hair as he looked down at you, his eyes and voice soft. “Is it about learning Korean?” You nodded your head, knowing what was going to come next.
“I think you know what I’m going to say, but I really do think you should accept some help from my members. I don’t like seeing my girlfriend upset.”
JAEMIN
Learning a new language was hard, he knew that from trying to learn your language, but you seemed to be doing really well. You were improving by the day, and Jaemin assumed that soon you’d be almost fluent. However, he couldn’t work out how you found the time. You had school and work, and you spent every night studying until 8pm. He was confused to say the least.
One evening, he thought he would surprise you. It was 9pm, so he knew you weren’t studying and were probably lay in bed watching something you found on Netflix. When he reached the top of the stairs, though, he didn’t hear any sounds from your laptop, but instead heard a pencil scribbling away. That was strange; it was way after you’d stopped studying. He entered your room to see you sat at your desk with a Korean book on the table in front of you. Your eyes were burning as you tried to stop the tears from falling, but it wasn’t successful, as one landed on the page in front of you.
“I thought you’d stopped studying, (Y/N)?” You looked up at him and shook your head.
“I have. I’m studying Korean now.” You tried to hide the emotion in your voice and you turned back to the book to try and hide the fact that you were once again on the verge of tears.
“Right, you’re having a break tonight. You’re going to burn out if you don’t.”
YANGYANG
It was almost YangYang’s birthday, and you’d come up with the perfect present; you were going to finally show him your German skills, not that you had very many to show. You’d been learning behind his back for the past year or so, and you’d improved a little, but you had to admit, not as much as you would have liked to. You knew that learning languages took a long time, but you were taking lot longer than you should have been.
It reached the day of his birthday, and everything that you’d learned had for some reason gone missing from your head, making you begin to panic. You just wanted to make him happy, but now it seemed like you couldn’t give him his surprise like you’d wanted to. It was too late to turn back, though. You’d already rang the doorbell and were stood waiting for someone to answer the door. When they did, it was Kun, who immediately smiled when he spotted you. He let you in and you made your way to YangYang’s room, knocking on the door before making your way in.
“There she is!” YangYang beamed, taking you in his arms as soon as you stepped through the door. Your heart was beating so fast from nerves, that even YangYang could feel it through the hug. “What’s wrong?” he spoke, concerned about you.
“It’s nothing. I wanted to show you that I was learning German today as a present, but I can’t remember anything.” YangYang smiled, pulling you closer and kissing your head.
“That would have been great, but you know what would be even better?” You shook your head. “Me being your teacher.”
CHENLE
Chenle would be the most supportive person on the planet, mainly because of how hard he found it to learn Korean. Renjun was so much help for him, and so he is going to help you as much as he possibly can. He’d buy you books, pay for a tutor, give you feedback on your pronunciation. He just wants to help you like the amazingly sweet boyfriend that he is.
You were unhappy with your progress though, and so was your tutor. You felt so bad for Chenle, who refused to let you pay for your own tutor; he’d put so much money into helping you and you felt like you were just taking his money for the sake of it. That’s when you decided to talk to Chenle about how much you were struggling. You made your way to the dreamies’ dorm and sat down with Chenle, voicing your concerns. He was understanding and sweet, but he refused to take no for an answer.
“You know I’ll support you no matter what, (Y/N). It doesn’t matter to me how long it takes for you to learn Chinese. As long as you want to learn it, I’ll help you in every way.” You hugged him tight, refusing to let go. You loved him with all your heart.
“Thank you, Chenle. I’ll try my hardest.”
JISUNG
He knew you were learning Korean, but he was chill about it. He left you to get on with it because he knew he wouldn’t be much help at all. What he didn’t know was that you would have loved for him to help; you were finding it really hard to get your head around some of the concepts of the language. You spent hours every day locked away in your room, your head hanging over your Korean books, trying to force it go in.
Jisung was over at your house, lay on your bed as you sat and tried to pronounce a word. Jisung smiled every time you said it, finding it so sweet, but he wasn’t aware that you were on the verge of tears. You were never very good at holding in your tears, so they came pretty quickly, running down your cheeks and dropping onto the book in front of you. Jisung could see your shoulders sink, but he didn't think much of it until he heard you sniffle.
“Oh my god, (Y/N), whats wrong?” He rushed over to you, taking your face in his hands. He watched as the tears dribbled down your face. He glanced over to the book, realising that you were finding it hard.
“I’m just finding it difficult.” You spoke, our voice barely above a whisper. You afraid that if you spoke any louder, you’d have a full on meltdown. “Can you help?” Jisung nodded, a smile on his face.
“If that book ever makes you cry again, I’m burning it and you can’t stop me.”

Chapter 1 | Chapter 2 | Chapter 3
After we all introduced ourselves, Sejin oppa told the boys that they could take the rest of the day off their usual practice and training schedules so that we could get to know each other a little better.
“(Y/n) noona, why’d you decide to come to Korea in the first place?” Jimin asked, propping up his chin with the palm of his hand.
“Basically, I wanted to travel,” I replied. “I wanted to experience somewhere new and I had already learned the language so I knew I wouldn’t be completely lost. That, and the fact that Konkuk University accepted me as a student helped of course.”
If I hadn’t gone to Konkuk University, I probably wouldn’t have ended up in this room with these seven boys in the first place. That’s where I met Seokjin. No one else really talked to me, I guess my being a foreigner made them scared they wouldn’t be able to communicate well. But after seeing each other in a few of the fundamental courses we took together he asked me if he could sit next to me in class, so we started talking and quickly became friends.
He had told me he was a trainee, so I helped him when he had trouble getting work done because of his busy schedule. And earlier today, which was only about a month after the semester started, I mentioned how I was having trouble finding a job and he suggested I applied to the company he was a trainee at. I was baffled when I was told to come back for an interview so quickly after just filling out my application, so when I was hired so easily it was even more astonishing to me. And now here I was, talking with these seven interesting boys.
“How did you learn Korean anyway? Why did you want to?” Namjoon inquired. He had mentioned earlier that he learned English by watching the show Friends, which I thought was incredibly impressive.
“I found a website that taught it and made it really easy to learn. After getting into Korean dramas and K-pop I thought the language was really beautiful and wanted to give it a shot.”
“It must have taken you a while,” Hoseok added.
I saw Seokjin smiling out of the corner of my eye, waiting for his brothers’ reactions to my reply. “It took about 3 years.”
There were a variety of reactions from the boys, from as small as a just surprised expression, to straight up shocked gasps accompanied by jumping up from their comfortable positions on the floor. Meanwhile, my friend laughed out of enjoyment from their surprise.
“Really?! How fluent are you?” Jungkook asked.
“Well on TOPIK my proficiency was rated Level 6,” I replied, feeling shy from all their reactions.
“What’s that mean?” Yoongi asked.
“It means she got the highest level you can get. She’s completely fluent,” Namjoon elaborated.
I didn’t think it was possible, but even more dynamic reactions ensued from the group. Jimin and Hoseok were now standing, the latter spinning in circles. Even Yoongi, who appeared to be calmer and more muted than the rest of them was very obviously surprised at the knowledge. Seokjin was just on the floor, releasing his unique laugh which reminded me of windshield wipers.
I felt my cheeks flush at their over-the-top reactions. I knew that I learned it fairly quickly, but I definitely wasn’t prepared for these responses.
“I mean, Namjoon learned English just from watching a TV show and there’s no way I could have done that with Korean, so…” I said, hoping to reduce some of the attention they were giving me.
“Yah, calm down guys,” Seokjin managed to say once his laughing settled down a bit. “You’re making her feel embarrassed.”
“Sorry, noona!” Taehyung said as he and the rest of the boys started to calm down. “ It’ just, I’ve been learning English basically since I started going to school but I still can’t even hold a full conversation in it. So it was just super impressive to hear you learned Korean so quickly!” The rest of the group nodded in agreement.
“Thanks,” I said with a shy chuckle as I rubbed the back of my head with my hand. “Anyway, let’s talk more about you guys!” I smiled and they thankfully obliged.
Our afternoon continued like that, me asking some questions which resulted in quite a bit of conversation and bantering between them, then one of them asking me something else. I quickly began to feel relaxed with them. Something about them was very comforting and welcoming.
I learned of their ages. Of course, I already knew that Seokjin and I were the same age, being born in ’92, and I was even only 3 days younger than him as my birthday is December 7. We learned that on the first day we started to become friends and we were shocked at the strange coincidence, Seokjin saying that we were almost twins. Yoongi was the next oldest, a ’93 liner. Namjoon and Hoseok were born in ’94, Jimin and Taehyung in ’95, and Jungkook being the youngest born in ’97. I knew he looked young, but I had no idea he was only just barely 15!
After chatting for quite a while, Sejin oppa came into the room. He smiled, seeming satisfied that we appeared to be getting along.
“You’d probably better move this to the dorm,” he said as he walked up to where we were sitting in a kind-of-not-really circle on the floor.
A few of them immediately stood up at the suggestion, agreeing that it was a good idea,
“Guys,” Yoongi spoke up, “do we really want noona to come to our dorm? It was in a pretty poor state when we left this morning. I don’t think she’d want to see your guys’ dirty clothes and messy habits on display for her the day she meets us.”
Hoseok, Taehyung, and Jimin who were originally really excited immediately replaced their grins with frowns in realization of the poor state of their home.
Sejin oppa laughed from where he stood behind me. “What did you guys think I was up to this whole time? I cleaned it up for you. Don’t worry, it’s safe.”
A look of relief washed their faces again. “Alright, do you want to go then, (Y/n)?” Seokjin asked.
“Yeah, sure! I’m pretty sure that as your manager, I’m supposed to know where your house is anyway.”
The boys gathered their things and we walked to their dorm, which was close by for convenience.
When we entered the house, the first thing I noticed was that it seemed pretty small. But Sejin oppa wasn’t joking that he worked hard to clean it. It was spotless!
“Wow, thanks Sejin hyung! I’ve never seen this place so clean,” Namjoon said.
“Let’s try to keep it that way, huh?” Hoseok said to his roommates with his eyes narrowed.
Jungkook just giggled, and the others didn’t make much of a comment as they scattered around the room.
“Let me show you around a bit, (Y/n) noona,” Hoseok said, placing a hand on my back.
I smiled at him and nodded.
The house was very small so there wasn’t much to show me, but I still very much appreciated the welcoming gesture. After checking that the room was clean enough, he showed me their bedroom. Yes, a single bedroom. All 7 of them slept in one room together, using bunkbeds to take the most advantage of the space. I suddenly felt pretty bad for them.
“Is it hard for all of you to have such little room to share together?” I asked him.
“Not really,” he responded. “Some of our members do strange things in their sleep but we are used to each other.”
“Oh, you mean like how you touch your body while you sleep, hyung?” Taehyung piped in from behind us.
I quickly turned around and shot my head back and forth between the two boys. “Wait, what?”
“Yah, don’t make it sound weird, Kim Taehyung!” Hoseok said, his face turning red. After looking at my confused expression, he elaborated. “I don’t know, apparently while I’m sleeping I’ll run my hand across my arm or chest or something. I guess because my parents used to hold me while I was sleeping so it’s just something that my body does on its own. At least I don’t snore as loud as an engine like Namjoonie.”
“It’s not like I can help it!” I heard said member pipe up from behind us. From that point the rest of the boys all started chiming in and talking over each other so I couldn’t make out much more of what they were saying.
I just couldn’t help but think about how cute and sweet it was, that they looked so close and like a family of their own. I found myself wondering if I’d be considered a part of this family too from now on. I would really like that.

thought trade (i) // jjk
summary - In a world where soulmate systems exist, you get one of the strangest ones you can think of. You speak your soulmates thoughts without any regard for context and that’s your only hint. At first it’s a bit strange, as you start blurting out random Korean phrases and stuff but one day you get so fed up that you start cursing at the world for giving you the most useless systems there is. It isn’t until you check twitter and see that a certain K-Pop Idol is trending for a random outburst in English that’s your words. . .
pairing - idol!jungkook x gender neutral!reader
genre - fluff; soulmate au
word count - 4.2k
warnings - none
author’s note - the reader in this fic in gender neutral and when there’s italics it means they’re talking in korean. also this is the first story i’ve published publicly in 6 years, if you’ve noticed anything about this fic grammarwise, please tell me and i’ll correct it.
part ii
You honestly don’t know what you expected when you turned 20 as you awaited for your soulmate system to show. Most common it was tattoos that showed up, your soulmates first words or birthdays. The lucky ones got to share thoughts or perhaps even see each other in dreams but none of that happened to you. No, soon as you turned 20 nothing really changed. It wasn’t until 2 weeks later when you were out having dinner with some friends and you just blurted out a random full sentence in full Korean.
You were confused. You didn’t speak Korean at all, you could barely speak Spanish from the 4 years you took it in high school. So how in the world did you say. . .whatever you said without any prior knowledge. The friend you were having dinner with suggested it was your soulmate system. But you’ve never heard of a system that would have you blurt out Korean. Keeping the soulmate system in mind though, you decided to seek out a sort of soulmate doctor.
With soulmate systems becoming more and more common, they were confusing to the people that had the system as well as the people around them, so some people have taken it upon themselves to study and record different types of soulmate systems to help understand. Very next day after your Korean dinner burst, you google the nearest one and book an appointment for the following week.
You still had no idea what you’re saying so you’ve started a habit of keeping a voice memo recorder on you at all times recording every single thing you say or hear throughout the day. You’ve gone through three so far and only caught one outburst. You managed to roughly translate a few words: Army, dance, and concert. You have no idea about any of the context behind those words but you’d have to wait before you’d get any answers.
Finally your appointment with the soulmate doctor rolls around and you explained your situation, how you randomly burst out in Korean and how you have no idea what to do with what’s going on or how to communicate with your soulmate. The doctor frowned upon hearing your description. Turning to her computer, she began to type in your system attributes.
“Well, your system is fairly unique, I’ll say that for sure.” She responded, as she turned back to face you. “What I mean is, there have only been about 3 or 4 other cases with systems similar to yours. It’s called thought trade. You’re speaking your soulmates thoughts or words. As for the Korean bit, your soulmate is Korean and that’s as much as I can tell.”
“Is there any way I can control it? To a point where I don’t randomly blurt out stuff in another language?” You asked, desperate for any sort of solution. The three times you burst out were very embarrassing and the looks you got made you feel weird and shameful.
“Hmm, soulmate systems have only been known to let up until after the fact you’ve met. As for controlling? The only record we have of that is pressing enough thought to a point where you can force them to say it. Other than that, no, I’m sorry.”
You left the soulmate doctor feeling a bit dejected. You honestly didn’t know what to do about this; soulmate systems were supposed to make finding your soulmate easier and this didn’t seem to help you get anywhere. The only logical thing you could think of was to start taking a Korean language class at your college. Before the first class had started, you were sure to explain to your professor your reasoning behind taking the course. Thankfully, he was very understanding and promised he’d help you personally with any translations if needed.
After a few classes you finally had an outburst in class. Everyone in your class turned to stare at you in confusion, clearly whatever you said wasn’t a part of class and you felt your face grow red. The looks of their faces made you want to curl up under your desk and hide until the end of class. Your professor took liberty to explain to the class that it was your soulmate system upon seeing your embarrassment; to which your fellow classmates were understanding.
“Y/N, if it’s alright with you, may I incorporate your outburst into the lesson.” You gave a small nod as he clasped his hands together. “Alright, can anyone guess or translate what Y/N, or moreso, what their soulmate said?” He asked the lecture class, a few people raised their hands. He pointed to one of the guys in the front row. “Yes, Jay?”
“They said ‘I don’t know why I’m speaking like I don’t know my own language, hyung!’” Jay responded, before turning to look at you at your desk. “Perhaps he caught on to you learning the language and you’re mispronouncing some things?”
“He?” You question, you’ve never known the gender of your soulmate, so with Jay using the male pronouns you were rightfully taken back.
“Yeah, he said hyung. That’s the honorific he used.” He responded. Once the professor confirmed that is in fact what your soulmate said, he resumed the class yet you barely paid attention. For as little as it was, you had something. A clue.
As the months passed, the outbursts became more and more common happening at least twice every other week. Fortunately, your Korean had improved enough for you to start translating your bursts on your own. Some of it was a bit difficult to understand as to what he was talking about as it varied from a bunch of things like fire being too hot, and leaves falling down. Other times it was stuff about body aches.
Your classmate Jay had slowly become a blessing in your life when it came to further trying to understand your outbursts and your soulmate system in general. After your first outburst in class, he approached you and asked you a couple more questions about your system. He admittedly was interested in the many vast different types that existed and had never heard of yours before. He had offered his help on translating and thus your friendship began.
The semester was finally drawing to a close and you had Jay over to help study for the Korean final when you had another burst about the army, something about purple, and food. If you were completely honest, you were getting fed up with it. “I’m honestly tired of it! Why the fuck does nothing he say make sense! I’m already learning another fucking language to understand whatever the fuck he’s talking about but what he says doesn’t make sense!” You shouted, completely frustrated with the entire situation. “I’m still completely clueless as to who my soulmate is! And he’s not giving me any hints!”
Jay merely sat in silence as you sat back down, cooling down after your little meltdown. “Feel better after that?”
“Yes, a little bit.” You sighed, “Sorry you had to . . . witness that though.”
“No problem, honestly, I think you are being given hints they’re just too. . .vague to connect them.” He said in an attempt to reassure you.
“You on his side or mine here?” You retorted, eliciting a chuckle from your friend. “I just. . .want to strangle him sometimes.”
“I would too, if I had your system. I got lucky though, I just doodle on my arm and it shows up on her arm.” He smiled proudly as he looked at his forearm. He really was lucky when it came to having a soulmate system. Jay had been able to quickly locate his soulmate within a matter of hours after his system made itself apparent. His soulmate, Jenna, lived in Canada and he had plans on flying over to meet her for Hanukkah.
“Can we put a pin in this study session until tomorrow? After that, I’m exhausted and don’t think I can look at another sentence without getting angry at him.” You huffed as you leaned back on your couch.
“Yeah, final ain’t till next week. Call me if anything happens.” He assured you as he started collecting his things.
Once he was gone, you pulled out your phone and opened twitter. You barely use it unless to check up on some random celebrities tweets or check random news stuff. Upon opening the trending page, the top trend catches your eye:
JUNGKOOK SOULMATE
As someone with a weird soulmate system, you’re intrigued with what’s going on with this ‘Jungkook’. Upon opening the hashtag, you learned he is a sort of K-Pop idol, now you don’t know a lot about the music industry of the language of your soulmate so you decided to leave it, but before you close it you come across a video of said Jungkook from a livestream. He’s this cute guy that can’t be any older than you with brown hair that’s swept over his eyes and staring into the camera lovingly. He’s sitting in a hotel room and he’s just talking in Korean, and you vaguely understand what he’s talking about. He’s talking about his day, the food he’s tried lately, and addresses the viewers as ARMY. Then in the middle of a sentence about an interview he bursts out in full English “I’m still completely clueless as to who my soulmate is! And he’s not giving me any hints!” before he slapped his hands over his mouth and scrambled to the camera to end the livestream.
Those were your words. He said your words.
He’s your soulmate?
You swipe more down the tag and you see a bunch of stuff about theories about what his system might be. You come across a thread of several times his voice was bleeped out in a bunch of videos, while fans assumed it was swearing they began theorizing it was his soulmate system and he didn’t want them to hear him talk about things that probably didn’t make any sense.
That didn’t help you on your part. Now you only have one piece of evidence that proves he’s your soulmate. Exiting the app, you moved to google and see if you could find anything else about this Jungkook and low and behold, more photos of the cute guy from the video clip was there and you frantically called Jay.
“I just left what’s up-”
“I found him.”
“You what? You found him?” Jay was astonished to say the least, especially since less than 10 minutes ago you were cursing him out over not knowing who he was.
“Either I found him or I’m having a nervous breakdown.” You chuckled nervously as you began pacing back and forth in your living room.
“Okay, I’m coming back over.” You heard him turn and make his way back over to your apartment. “Who is he?”
“This sounds. . . completely insane but like. . he’s a K-Pop Idol named Jungkook, whoever the fuck he is, he’s my soulmate and I have no fucking idea how to get to him now.”
“Wait wait wait, slow down. Jeon Jungkook, of BTS, is your soulmate?” Jay inquired, “How did you find that out?”
“Well apparently the universe heard me complaining about not having a clue and went BAM ‘Here’s your clue’.” You still couldn’t believe this was real. Of all people that had to be your soulmate, he was it. You opened your mouth to speak again but instead of English, Korean toppled over your lips. One word that mainly stuck out was ‘I’m sorry’. “I think he’s in trouble. Fuck, I got him in trouble.” You hadn’t even met the guy and you were already causing problems for him. Or maybe this wasn’t new at all, maybe you’d gotten him in trouble before?
“Open the door, I’m outside.” You ran to the door and wrapped your arms around your friend. To say you were overwhelmed and scared, didn’t cover half of it. You knew who he was now, but now had no idea who you were and now you were clueless as to how you can even get to see him!
The next day and a half, instead of studying for your Korean final, you made it your business to find out anytime you could on Jungkook. As you watched some of the music videos, slowly more and more of what you’ve said in the past made sense. The weird sayings that you thought were completely random were song lyrics, the complaints about muscle pains made more sense when you saw how intense and hard they all danced. The “army” you constantly burst about was the fanbase they had, ARMY. You were given clues, you were just too stupid to use google once in a while.
Meanwhile, your outbursts have gotten more and more frequent. Happening almost twice a day. You could almost feel Jungkook’s concern and fear behind his thoughts because apparently BigHit was really good at hiding their idols’ soulmate systems and with your one outburst you ruined it for him.
ARMY slowly became a concern for you on your side because apparently a site of soulmate systems crashed because so many people were frantically searching for what his system might be. Once people found out about the rare thought trade system, almost daily you saw on Twitter of people claiming to be his soulmate. Those were easily debunked as the impostors were either too young to even get their soulmate system or the phrases they said in Korean were badly pronounced. Usually one of those two or they didn’t speak English fluently. That was the only clue ARMY had about their Golden Maknae’s soulmate, you spoke English.
You thought quietly to yourself, trying to push a thought to Jungkook about being sorry about this happening and that you weren’t posting any videos on Twitter, because either way you wanted him to know you were you and not give him the wrong idea. You don’t know if he got the message until several hours later when you were getting out of the shower and in perfect English said, “I understand.” You smiled, happy he got the message and you were able to connect to him at least in some way.
A full month after the “live burst” as ARMY dubbed it, you (and Jungkook) were able to decipher with the fact that you could only get each other's thoughts when you were extremely emotional, which explained the live situation. Sometimes if you thought really long and hard you could push the message across but that was usually hit or miss. It was currently winter break and Jay was currently on his way back from Canada when he called you.
“Pack your bags.”
“Uh, nice to hear from you too, Jay. I’m doing great. Why should I pack my bags?” You rolled your eyes as his demand.
“Because my dear YN, for Christmas I got you tickets to go see BTS on Jimmy Fallon-”
“You fucking what!? First of all that’s all the way in fucking New York City! Second of all, fucking wHAT?!” You screamed into the phone, a bit flinching seeing how you probably just got Jungkook to yell at the top of his lungs.
“Listen to me, YN. This is crazy yeah, but it’s like, the only chance we can get for you two to meet. Hence why I got you a round trip ticket to New York. You’re welcome,” the smugness evident in his voice.
“Jay. . .I can’t believe you’d do this for me? All I got you was socks, you can’t just buy me a plane ticket!”
“Jenna helped pay for it if it makes you feel better, we both want you to get your man. It’s our gift to you. Now go pack, the show is in two days and you leave tomorrow morning. We also got you a hotel ticket. You’re going to be there at least 5 days at least. Have fun!”
Soon as the call ended, you felt like you were going to cry. Was this going to work? You had no idea. “New York City? You go?” You heard your voice speak. You quickly thought back a yes for him and scrambled to your room to pack. You threw together your best and nice clothes to wear at the show and as you were getting ready for bed you heard yourself say “See you maybe.” You smiled as you tucked yourself in, wanting to be asleep as soon as possible in order to leave.
You barely slept that night, to a degree was somewhat okay because you could always sleep on the plane. You left two hours before your flight with the information that Jay had forwarded to you, and soon enough you were seated outside your gate waiting for your flight to be called. Seconds seemed like hours as you waited, you just wanted to get to New York as soon as possible and see Jungkook. Live and in person, right in front of you. But then it came to you, Jungkook had no idea what you looked like. So you came up with a little plan for the opportunity to arise.
After you came up with a plan, you saw on your VLIVE app, after the live burst last time you decided to download the app to be sure you didn’t have another repeat, you would simply sit in silence as you watched your soulmate talk but after the outburst, it seems he was limited from going live. But he was allowed to go live with other members because there he was with Jimin, sitting and talking to ARMY. After a sudden lack of Jungkook, the chat was spammed with questions about his soulmate and his system but he avoided that entirely. You watched them as you waited for your flight to be called, they playfully bickered about some dumb little game they were playing.
After nearly an hour, your flight was called and you decided to leave one message in the chat. ‘See you maybe.’ You watched for a few seconds as Jungkook scanned the chat. He saw his eyes light up a bit and open his mouth but before he said anything you had already closed the app. You couldn’t reopen it now as you were steps away from boarding your plane. You made your way to your seat and put your phone on airplane mode. The flight attendants went over the safety precautions but you didn’t hear a word they said for you were so close to Jungkook now.
Soon enough the plane took off and you put in your earbuds and played some of your already downloaded music, including some of BTS and more specifically Jungkook’s solo songs and covers. While you did love and appreciate the other members and their talent, you obviously had to be biased to your literal soulmate. His soothing voice lulled you to sleep and sure enough you slept the entire flight to New York City.
Soon as you landed you made your way over to baggage claim and called an uber to your hotel. You were getting more and more antsy to the point you were giggling like a maniac. “You okay?” Your voice spoke up. Okay, maybe you were getting too excited by this. You laughed a bit and thought back that you were just excited. You unpacked your things and then decided to check through twitter, and of course, Jungkook was trending again. Clicking on it you see a clip of the live stream after you commented and left. Jungkook’s eyes lit up and he said “You too”, you chuckled and scrolled through and saw a bunch of people’s theories as to who his soulmate is and as his response to your comment was vague, no one pointed to you.
After a few hours of mindlessly scrolling and watching videos, getting to know what these people thought of Jungkook. He was very important to these people and you couldn’t help but be a little scared because they automatically assumed a lot about idols’ personal lives and you were possibly going to be added to that equation. You felt your stomach grumble and you decided to make a quick stop at a McDonald’s as it was cheap and easy food. Belly full, you fell asleep and happy to possibly see your soulmate within 24 hours.
You woke up a bit early to get ready, the dress code was smart casual so you dressed as such, only messing with your physical appearance very little as you didn’t bring much with you in your rush to pack. Once you noticed the time, you were on your way to the studio and you felt like your heart was going to beat out of your chest. After waiting for a few hours, you all filed into the audience and watched as the crew set up for filming. You couldn’t breathe as Jimmy stood in front and announced that BTS was here and you felt your heart stop when they came out.
They all came out looking very cute in their current concepts style, and they all look ethereal. Then your eyes landed on Jungkook and all of time seemed to stop. He looked so cute and you couldn’t believe it. There he was. So close yet so far. Every fiber of your being, every atom yelled at you to get up from your seat and run to him but you couldn’t, that was the stupidest thing you could ever do. No, you had to stick to your plan. Hopefully it will work. They danced their way to their seats as the band played, then they all sat down around and on the couch. You couldn’t register anything that was going on, all you could hear was your heartbeat in your ears. You watched them introduce themselves and you had to bite your tongue, because all you wanted to do was scream out to Jungkook that you were here. Just wait, you reminded yourself. Wait.
As they talked about their new music, you heard Jimmy ask about soulmates, more specifically Jungkook, with his system being exposed recently and if he found them.
He shook his head no. “Still looking.” he shyly admitted as the nearest member, Jimin, patted his thigh.
This was it. You shut your eyes and thought hard as possible trying to get him to hear you. Please please please.
“It’s been difficult to find them as-” Namjoon started to explain when suddenly
“I’M HERE!” Jungkook blurted out, cutting him off. It worked! His eyes frantically searched the audience and suddenly a bunch of screaming people were claiming it was them, even people with the most obvious soulmate marks exposed on their bodies, desperate for the love of their bias.
“Wait, they’re here?!” Jimmy shouted over the growing screams of the crowd, Jungkook stood up and watched the crowd intently, unable to pin point you.
Namjoon said something in Korean to Jungkook, encouraging the younger member to do something. Listening to him, Jungkook closed his eyes and the entire audience went quiet. Waiting for his soulmate to show themselves.
You felt the similar pull, the need to speak. Opening your mouth and standing as you let the words tumble out of your mouth in a shout, shrieking something about raw eggs and Jimin. As random as the saying was, Jungkook’s eyes locked with you and suddenly you felt your legs move without your permission. You frantically pushed past all the people sitting around you and you ran down the stairs to your soulmate. Your Jungkook. As he saw you run down the stairs, he ran to meet you halfway across the stage. You leapt into his open arms and you felt him spin you around as you held on for dear life.
Soon as everything stopped spinning you could feel him cry into your shoulder. You pulled away to see his eyes starting to grow red from the amount of tears he let go. From that sight alone, you as well burst into tears. He pulled you back into the hug by your neck and you both openly wept into each other's arms. You felt the other members (and you think Jimmy as well), join in the hug as you all stood there. You heard Jimmy say they’re gonna have a quick break and you all were gestured to go backstage. You almost didn’t follow but Jungkook pulled you along, not letting go of you.
Once in a back room, you were surrounded by the 7 members of the biggest boyband in the world, one of which was your soulmate and you honestly? You were a bit starstruck because while you had hoped that the plan would work, you didn’t think this far ahead.
“So, uh, what’s your name?” Namjoon broke you out of your trance and you felt your face flush, looking to the ground a bit.
“Uh, YN LN.” You said, continuing to stare at your toes.
“It’s perfect.” You heard Jungkook mutter as he pulled you into another hug from behind, burying his face in the crook of your neck.
Jimin lightly scolded the maknae in Korean, saying something along the lines of something about the conversation, the interrupted interview, and 'schedule mess up'.
“Sorry about that, didn't really. . .think of that. . .” You lightly chuckled as you dragged your fingertips up and down Jungkook’s arms that were still wrapped around you.
“Don’t apologize. I don’t care. I have my soulmate now. I have you.” Jungkook whispered into your ear.
“We have to go back to the interview. JK, they’ll be here when you get back, right?” Namjoon’s turned to you, putting you on the spot.
“Y-yes, of course.” You sputtered out, nodding your head.
You could feel Jungkook pouting as he looked up to face his members. Talking really fast, you managed to understand a bit of what he was saying to them. Asking them about missing the rest of the interview and something about Jin and his soulmate. A few of them went back and forth about whether or not it would be good with Jimmy or the staff. But it was when Hoseok spoke out that the other members agreed, Namjoon only sighed in response. Telling Jungkook he’d be excused from the rest of the schedule today. He then told him to get out of the outfit and get back into his normal clothes and take one of the cars back to their hotel. Jungkook agreed almost immediately as the rest of the members filled out of the room, leaving you and your soulmate alone for the first time.
“This why you excited for New York City? You seeing me?” Jungkook asked as he turned you to face him, you nodded. He laughed lightly. “You really surprised me, and you kept me on my toes the past two years.” Oh shit, he’s been voicing your thoughts way before you even started it because he’s two years older than you.
“Oh shit- I’m, I’m so sorry!” You laughed, you can’t imagine all the weird thoughts he got and not to mention in English so he was probably just as confused as you were.
“It made concerts difficult, but motivated me to learn English better.” He teased. He placed his hand on your face and you closed your eyes, leaning into his touch. He whispered a small plea. “Please don't let this be a dream.”
“It’s not. This is real.” You whispered back, opening your eyes and looking into his.
“Good, because then I can do this.” He gently pulled your face closer to his and met you halfway with a kiss. You’ll admit, you’ve never kissed anyone before but with Jungkook it all felt right. Granted it was a short and brief kiss, but you felt the emotion behind it all. He pulled away first and just looked at you. You could definitely see what all those comments were talking about with them saying Jungkook has the entire galaxy in his eyes. “I need to change now. Be right back?”
“I’ll be here.”

CHAPTER 2
the phone call with your mom was definitely the most stressful phone call you had to take in your life. It was even worse than the time you almost sat the whole apartment on fire when you tried to make your friend eggs and bacon for her birthday breakfast.
She had gotten worried demanding that you gave her your soulmates whole name and the number to Mrs.Kim. You knew you couldn’t give her that though. It would only make matters worse. You loved your mother to death, but she was a bit aggressive when it came to her children. You knew if you gave your mother Mrs.Kims number that she would lash out and probably be sued by the company because of harassment. And you knew she didn’t have enough money saved up to pay for compensation or a good lawyer.
You hadn’t slept much that night. You were too nervous about the meeting with Mrs.Kim and about your neighbor’s reaction to you having visitors. You were supposed to lay low, but everyone in your town knew you never had people over. you were kind of known in town as the young girl that wasn’t capable of making any friends. But most of all you were nervous about how many people Mrs.Kim would bring with her. She said she would bring a full security team. How many people is that? Would they just stand outside your house all day? Because that would definitely bring you an unnecessary amount of attention from your neighbors.
You hadn’t read anything more about Jimin in your letter nor have you searched for any information about him or his company on the internet. You figured that you would be better of going in the blind about him as much as everybody else does when they get matched. You didn’t need to put more pressure on yourself than you already have. You had started to worry about how he took it when he found out that a girl that works as a bartender and barely made enough money to pay her bills was his soulmate. He must have been so embarrassed. Maybe that why Mrs. Kim and a whole fucking security team were on their way to you at this very moment. Maybe their job was to hide you from the media because Jimin didn’t want anyone to find out about his poor and unsuccessful soulmate.
Okay... relax (y/n), no need to make yourself hate the guy before you had even been introduced to him. Just take a chill pill.
When the clock hit ten you heard a knock on your door. A woman, probably in her early thirties was looking at you through your glass door as you walked down the stairs. She had to be Mrs.Kim. Four men all dressed in black was standing on both sides behind her.
When you opened the door, it took approximately five seconds before the lady and all the men had taken off their shoes and made their way into your house. Two of the men dragged your curtains over the glass doors before they turned around with their back to the doors. Then they bowed and said something in a language you didn’t understand.
You didn’t say anything back nor did you bow back. Why did they bow? That’s so weird. Where you suppose to bow back, or would they think you look like a desperate foreigner trying to fit into the group. You figured a smile would be the best thing to do. You tried to give them the friendliest smile you were able to pull off, to try to make a good first impression. You didn’t want them to think of you as rude.
When you turned around to face the rest of the strangers, one of the men was on his way up the stairs. The woman and the last man of the four were just standing in the middle of your living room. They had smiled as soon as you had turned toward them. They bowed to, but the woman not as low as the man.
“Hello (y/n), it’s so good to see you in person instead of just talking over the phone. We apologize for rushing in so fast, we didn’t mean to frighten you.”
Yeah well too late for that Mrs.Kim. You shouldn’t have closed the curtains if you wanted me to relax. Now it just looks like you have a mafia boss on a visit with a plan to torture and kill you. You were almost afraid that one of your neighbors would call the cops on them.
“Ah.. yeah.. umm...hi... I am (y/n), but you probably already know that. I mean you wouldn’t barge in here if you didn’t know who I was”
Mrs.Kim laughs. She had a beautiful smile. Pearl white teeth and a little dimple, only on her left side though. Her eyes almost disappeared completely when she laughed, you could only see a little gap in her eyes where beautiful dark irises poked through. She had to be the most beautiful woman you had ever laid your eyes on. If you hadn’t just gotten your soulmate letter you would consider going lesbian for that masterpiece of a human being.
“No, we certainly wouldn’t. We have all just been a little on edge since we left Korea. Seeing that all your curtains were left completely open for all your neighbors to see just made us a little nervous. It is our job to keep your privacy private from now on after all. And I can promise you that I take my job very seriously as you probably will notice in the next couple of days. I will do my absolute best to protect you (y/n).”
She bowed again, this time a little lower than the first. Then she walked a little closer to you.
“Ah.. so, me and my team haven’t introduced our self’s properly jet. I can start with myself. As you already know I am Mrs.Kim. I have worked for BigHit for almost six years now. I started working as a secretary for a lot of the high profiled people in our company until I got switched over to the security department two years ago. My job for the last two years has been to plan for the arrival of the soulmates of our idols. Now I have been given the position as head of security for you (y/n). I truly look forward to working with you.”
She shakes my hand and smiles again. Then she turned to look at all the men around your house.
“And some of these men are going to be your personal security guards. Not all of them though, we just brought a little extra to ensure that everything runs smoothly for your journey to Seoul. The next couple of weeks is really going to determine who is gonna stay with you permanently. We will see who you get the most comfortable with and them pic two out of that. We also made sure that all of the security personnel assigned to you are capable of speaking English fluently so that we don’t get any problems related to communication.”
Wait... If they are all fluent in English, why the hell did they speak another language to you just a couple of minutes ago then?
“We have Junseo, Seurong, Yucheon, and Hyun. All of them have worked with the company for more than five years. Junseo is actually one of Jimins guards. He has worked with bts since the beginning. Jimin trust him more than any other guard working for us, so he specifically asked for him to join us on our travel to make sure that you were taken extra good care of.”
They had all smiled when Mrs.Kim said their name and said cute little Hello’s and hi’s in return. Junseo’s ears and cheeks got all red when Mrs.Kim had talked so well about him. You could already tell that he was too pure for this world, how is this blushing mess a security guard? You just couldn’t wrap your head around that. You just wanted to give him a hug and tell him how adorable he is. He probably wouldn’t appreciate that though. He is a grown man after all. You did hope that you two could become friends in the future though. Maybe you could take him out for ice cream someday. He seems like a guy that would like stuff like that.
Mrs. Kim said a couple of words in what you assumed was Korean before all of them except Junseo went outside again. She sounded so French when she talked English, but looked and talked Korean. You were confused. Maybe you were just absolutely horrible at telling apart accents. You were all just standing there so you asked them both to take a seat on your couch to get a more comfortable atmosphere. They happily obliged, you took a seat in the beanbag tucked in the corner of the room. It was silent for what felt like five seconds before Mrs.Kim opened her mouth again.
“I actually really need you to take a look at these documents with me (y/n). The CEOs of BigHit have required me to present this to you before our travel tomorrow. It is documents regarding your future in the company. Unfortunately, you don’t really have a choice of being a part of the company or not. Not only because of Jimin’s contract with BigHit but also his line of work. But they have tried to make it as fair as possible for you with this contact.”
The previous big smile that decorated Mrs.Kim’s face had become smaller as she kept talking. You had already tried to prepare for worst-case scenarios, so keeping calm wasn’t as hard as you had first thought. It made sense to. Everybody knows that if you get matched with a famous person that you are basically bound to both them and their work for the rest of your life. You felt bad for the ones that had found at who they were only to have it all be ripped away to become a personal healing bag for their famous soulmate.
You were also kind of happy though. Everyone in your life seems to know exactly who they are. What work they wanna do, their personality, what their style is, and what their dreams and goals are. You honestly didn’t know anything about yourself. You still haven’t found out who you are or what you want to do with your life. That was a good thing now though. Because if you don’t have anything to lose then people can’t take anything from you.
But why did they ask for Mrs.Kim to show me the contract now? Why couldn’t we just do that after arriving in Korea?
“He has requested you to show them to me now? Why can’t it wait until we have arrived in Seoul?”
Mrs.Kim nodded before looking down at the stack of paper in her hands.
“Well, even though they know that you wouldn’t run off to another entertainment company and ask for a job. They just need to make sure. Have it in black on white you know. It also is to make you more relaxed. In the contact that they wish for you to sign is a promise from them as a company. They want you to know that they are going to protect both you and your loved ones from the media and the fans. It is also a promise from them that they are going to give you work if you wish to and pay you even if you decide not to. For them, the most important thing is to know that regardless of where Jimin is or what he is doing, that you are going to be right beside him. They know that an idol can’t work without his or her soulmate after the bond as started. They need you to be around so that Jimin can keep working.”
“And in return, I give them what? All of what you just said sounds too good to be true.” You said. Your voice confused.
“In return” she continues. “In return, you give us your absolute loyalty. It really isn’t anything more than that. This isn’t a contact meant to screw you over (y/n). We know how bad it can all end if an idol doesn’t have their soulmate around twenty-four seven”
Junseo had made his way to your kitchen, probably to give the two of you some privacy to discuss this. It had to be a little uncomfortable just sitting there and watching this conversation progress. You saw him looking at the pictures hanging on your refrigerator. You had filled the whole surface of the refrigerator with photos from back home, and your trips to different parts of the world. The voice of Mrs.Kim brought you back to the conversation.
“You see (y/n), it has been a few thousand cases in South Korea with Idols not having their soulmates around them enough. And everybody knows how wrong things can go with too little physical contact. Both idol and their soulmate would get very sick and in the worst cases die. The things that are different between other companies and ours is that we are willing to use a lot of money, time, and resources on our idol’s soulmate. Because we care and we know that it is what we must do to keep our idols healthy and happy. We have seen how much we can get back from it too. Let’s say that you are happy spending time with us in this company. That can result in you being willing to show up for events and interviews. It can make you want to work with us too, maybe within music or dance, or maybe things like doing modeling jobs. It can also mean that you may be willing to do social media stuff, it is a huge market in that now. But you are never going to want to have anything to do with us if we don’t treat you like family”
She raised her shoulders a little, sitting more back on the couch. “However way you twist and turn around on this (y/n), you are good for the company. When this goes out into the public in just a few hours, things are going to blow up. Everyone is going to be talking about it. This is something that not only Jimin, his family, band members, and us in the company have been waiting for, but also the fans. It must be close to a gazillion hours of videos of Jimin on the Internet. A lot of those videos are him talking about you. His soulmate that he so desperately wants to find. The fans are going to be so excited for him when the news is out. So the PR is going to be amazing for the company.”
“That’s why BigHit doesn’t want much from you. The only thing that contract is requiring from you is that you don’t work for anyone else. That whatever work you want to do is going to be under BigHit, and that BigHit has the rights on whatever public works you do. It isn’t bad right?”
You nodded your head trying to digest the information. It didn’t sound bad at all. You had read so many horror stories about famous people’s soulmate being abused or taken advanced off by their soulmates company. It didn’t sound like the company that your soulmate works for did things that way. You should be happy and grateful for that you thought.
“Okay, I will sign it.”
The next morning was the most chaotic morning you had ever experienced.
Well not for you really. You had just been sitting at the floor with Mrs.Kim for the last hour drinking coffee and watching the moving people packing away all your stuff. But it was tiring to watch. And a little bit uncomfortable to not be helping. You had asked but all the men would just give you a smile and then bow before continuing on.You had taken that as a thank you, but no thank you.
Everything was gone in under two hours. You didn’t have a lot of stuff, but they packed everything so neatly. It was almost painful to watch them fold every clothing item you owned perfectly before packing it away. You thought your closet was quite organized but not enough for them apparently.
Mrs.Kim has told you that they were not Korean but Japanese. And also, that the same moving company had helped them every time the group that Jimin was a part of, had moved. They were supposedly the best of the best.
It was really quite in the streets, mostly because the clock only was eight in the morning. Most of the tourists are still asleep. So the moving crew had been able to pack everything up and leave without anyone noticing.Mrs. Kim told you that it would be best to pack up everything when there are fewer people around. The fewer the people the less attention.
The news of you and Jimin had dropped yesterday. And even though Mrs.Kim wouldn’t tell you anything, you could tell that it has become big news. She had talked on the phone for hours with someone you assumed was working for the company as well. She had talked in a low and stressful voice and even though you didn’t understand a word Korean, you knew that that conversation was something she didn’t want you to understand.
So she hasn’t told you anything though. You had tried to ask her about it but she would only answer that it was nothing for me to worry about and that it is being handled.
You did worry though, but she didn’t give you much time to. Because as soon as the moving truck had left you were lead out to the cars as well. You would be leaving in two different cars. You, Mrs.Kim, and Junseo were leaving in one car while Seurong, Yucheon, and Hyun would leave in another.
You and Mrs.Kim have taken the back seats as Junseo would drive. The car was filled to the brim with tension. As both you and Mrs.Kim refuse to make any eye contact. You could tell she was nervous, and it made you uneasy as well. The only comfort you got was from Junseo through the rear-view mirror as he would give you small smiles and winks whenever you would catch his gaze.
The last days had gone by so fast. You were just happy that you had gotten the time to give everyone that was important to you on that island a goodbye in person before you left. Even though you wished you had more time with everyone you knew that if you had asked for more you would have given Mrs.Kim a heart attack. And you weren’t that keen on having to explain to the company that you had killed one of their employees. You don’t think they would be so nice to you anymore if you had.
When you were getting close to the airport you noticed Mrs.Kim straighten up. She looked more alert as she eyed the people around the airport. Then after we stopped right outside the terminal one door she let out a breath and started to look more relaxed again. She turned to Junseo and told him something in Korean with a smile.
What suddenly made them so happy?
The door on your side suddenly opened, making you flinch before turning around to face a smirking Yucheon. You blush a little as he started to giggle of your reaction.
“You can come out now, me and Junseo will take you to the first-class lounge so you can eat something before our plane leaves”
Oh, so he does talk English, just with an adorable accent.
“I am really hungry too, so you don’t have to worry about eating alone” He gave you a reassuring smile. It reached his eyes and gave him cute eye wrinkles.
You smiled back before making a mental note of Yucheon being a potential candidate for being your future lunch buddy when your soulmate decided to ditch you.
“Ah. Thank you, I would hate to eat alone. That’s really depressing”
He giggled a little more before making more space for you to crawl out of the car. Junseo jumped out of the car only a second after you. Then the three of you made your way into the busy airport. Mrs.Kim hadn’t followed you and neither had Hyun. You didn’t want to ask about it, it was okay for you to not know the reason behind everything. You knew it would only make you more anxious. And you didn’t want to loos your cool when you had made it this far.
The first-class lounge was mostly empty except the few people that worked in the buffet and an old couple sitting in the corner. Yucheon had informed you that the plane didn’t leave before twelve o’clock, so the three of you had almost two hours to eat our way through the buffet.
You had gotten to know both of them a little better at that time. Yucheon was twenty-eight years old and loved food, animals, tv-dramas, and long walks by a famous river that was in Seoul. Junseo was thirty years old and loved to read, travel, play video games, and go to the gym. You liked both of them a lot and found yourself wondering if it would be possible to steal Junseo from Jimin.
You had asked them both if they would like to join you for ice cream and a walk along the river that Yucheon talked about, both of them said they would love to but that we would have to wait until the news of you and Jimin had died down.
Yucheon had been shocked when you confessed to not really knowing anything about Jimin. He had been even more shocked when you told him that you haven’t even searched his name on google jet. He, of course, had thought that you were at least a little curious about him. And you are, but you are also really afraid to freak yourself out before you had even met the guy.
Naturally Yucheon and Junseo we’re both eager to tell you everything they knew, even though you interested on that they don’t.
“You know” started Junseo.
“He really has been putting a lot of effort to make everything perfect before you come. Not just after he got the letter, but for as long as I have worked for BigHit”
He stopped eating and laid down his fork before he leaned more back into the couch.
“He talked about you daily, even before knowing your name. He would always say stuff like ‘I can’t wait to show her this’ or is bet she would love to see this’. It was always about you. Everything he does he does for you. I remember having to wake him up one time. He had fallen asleep in the car on the way to rehearsal. He was crying in his sleep, and when I woke him up he said ‘why does TISO use so much time to find her?’ And ‘I have paid them so much to make it go faster because I need her now. Why can’t they just find her now? I need her now.”
He picked up his fork again and took a big bite of the pasta dish he was eating.
“You know, he really is a good guy. But he has a big heart that breaks easily. So be nice to him, please. He really is trying his best. So don’t be mad at him for not knowing enough English to express himself or communicating with you properly. Just tell him it’s okay, and that you will learn together. Because I can’t handle to see him heartbroken, especially after longing for you for such a long time”
Junseo seemed to really love Jimin. He wouldn’t have told me this if he didn’t.
You just nodded and told him you that he didn’t have to worry. Your first language wasn’t English ether so you know that learning a new language could be hard. You wouldn’t judge someone because of it.
By that time Mrs.Kim had called them and informed us that we could board the plane soon. You had made your way through the terminal and before you even knew you were sitting in first class on a plane ready to leave for the other side of the world.
You had never flown for more than six hours, so you were starting to feel more and more thankful for the first class tickets the longer you were in the air.
You didn’t think you would have survived in the air for so long if you had to sit in the economy.
They had served food three times throughout the flight. All of the food served were multiple courses and were served with wine. When you were not eating you enjoyed the movie collection on board. Mrs.Kim had been on a Skype call with a man you didn’t know, for a couple of hours of the flight before falling asleep. The rest of the guys seemed to be sleeping for most of the flight too. Maybe it would have been smart of you to sleep too, but you were way to nervous about landing in Seoul to fall asleep.
The thought of the cameras that would be waiting to catch a glimpse of you at the airport was all you were capable of thinking about. You were thinking about how your life would be from now on, all the media and pressure didn’t match your ideal lifestyle. You were starting to question TISO’s discovery on you and Jimin as soulmates. Maybe they did a mistake or only matched you and Jimin together because they got paid a lot by him or his company and didn’t find his soulmate fast enough.
It didn’t seem right to you.
You've dreamed of having at least five or six more years alone before being matched with a guy living a quiet and boring life. You liked quiet and boring. It made you feel safe. Your mental health wasn’t stable enough to live the life Jimin was living. You prefer to not be the center of attention and would much rather be in the corner of the room than being the one that dances in the middle.
Your thoughts were stopped by the pilot's announcement over the speakers.
“ Ladies and gentlemen, we have begun our descent into Seoul. Please turn off all portable electronic devices and make sure all your belongings are secured. Also, make sure your seat back is straight up and your seatbelt is fastened. The flight attendants will make one more round to pick up any unwanted items left. Thank you”
You looked over to Mrs.Kim. She was already looking at you. A lazy smile decorated her face. She looked so cute when she was sleepy, you wonder who was blessed with waking up to her every day.
“Are you ready (y/n)?”
You nodded. You kinda just had to be ready, because there was no way they pilots would just fly a couple of extra rounds just so you could have a little more time, now was it?
“There is no need to be nervous. I have already talked to some of our staff on the ground. They have everything under control.”
You already know that they would. The only problem is that they actually need to keep things under control. That only means it’s people waiting for you on the ground.
“(Y/n)”
You nodded and tried to give a small smile as reassurance. She didn’t need to know how much you were dying on the inside right now.
“I need you to remember to stay close to Junseo when we land. Your baggage is going to be delivered directly to the car. All you need to do is to keep your head low and your focus on Junseo. You are going to be wearing a mask and a hoodie so that the paparazzi can’t get a clear shot of you”
You almost jumped from your seat when the plain suddenly hit the ground, only the seatbelt prevented you from it.
You had missed your favorite part of any flight. To watch out the window on the city that you were gonna stay in. Hopefully, it wouldn’t be the last time you were gonna land in Seoul, so you would just have to pay more attention next time.
“Ladies and gentlemen, we in emirates welcomes you to Seoul. The local time is six in the morning and the temperature is currently eighteen degrees Celsius. For your safety and for those around you, please remain seated until the ‘fasten seat belt’ sign is turned off. Thank you”
The next minutes passed almost too quickly. All of you were all packed up and on your way out of the plane in what felt like only a minute.
Mrs.Kim had given you a big pink hoodie with ‘BTS’ written on the front and a black mask. Junseo was walking in front and had his arm stretched out for you. You quickly accepted and gripped his hand hard. You swear you had seen Junseo flinch from the power of your tight hold on him.
You had walked through security control and passport control completely alone. Big Hit had to have something to do with the luxury treatment you thought.
They hadn’t asked many questions after receiving your passport and confirmation from TISO on your soulmate. They had stamped your passport and told you something in Korean before giving you a smile followed by a bow.
And then you were on your way towards a door to what you assumed was the main terminal of the airport. But nobody from your travel group told you anything. Junseo only offered his hand to you again as Mrs.Kim dragged the hood of the hoodie over your head and made sure the mask was sitting right.
“Keep your head down and don’t freeze. We have to move fast (y/n).”
“I understand” was the only thing you could think of saying. You just had to trust these people that you had only known for three days to keep you safe.
No problem.
As you got closer to the metal door you started to hear the noise from the other side. As soon as Yucheon opened the door the people on the other side exploded in screams.
You had loosened your hold on Junseo hand and tried to take a step back. But he had only fastened his hold on you and given you a thigh squeeze. Mrs.Kim placed her hand on your back before shoving you out the door.
The flashlights were blinding. You tried your hardest to keep your focus on Junseo’s moving feet and on Mrs.Kim’s hand that had made its way around your waist.
You lifted your gaze slightly. But not enough to look over Junseo’s big shoulders. You did, however, get a glimpse of the barricade that was blocking you from them. It hanged a lot of signs on it. Papers in all of the rainbow's colors with colorful writing on them.
“Welcome to Korea (y/n),” one said.
“Army supports you,” another one said.
Why the hell would the Korean army support me?
“Please tell Jimin to eat at” the rest was written in Korean. You assumed it was a restaurant or cafe.
You almost tripped when Junseo slowed down. A big revolving door was the reason for his now slower pace. But as soon as you had made your way through, you were quickly shown into a black van.
You felt as though you were finally able to breathe properly again.
Outside the airport young girls and boys were gathered. You could hear them even though the car doors were closed.
They were singing.
There was already a person ready in the driver's seat. Mrs. Kim had taken the front seat and Junseo had walked around the car to sit at your left side in the back.
You had no idea where Seurong, Yucheon, or Hyun was. But you could imagine them being in some of the surrounding vehicles.
The driver that you didn't know the name of, told Mrs. Kim something with a smile before starting to drive. The singing from the people outside the airport soon disappeared. You were left with only the motor of the car as noise. You pay close attention to everything passing by. This was the city you were most likely going to live in for all of the remaining years of your life. So you tried your best to remember buildings that looked exiting or places that you would like to later explore.
It was exciting, you couldn't lie. Seoul was truly a stunning city. It was extraordinary to see such a beautiful contrast between the old and the new buildings. You could almost feel the culture in the air as you got deeper and deeper into the city.
An extremely tall building caught your eye.
”What is that?” you asked. Everybody else that was in the car flinched. You had tried not to make your voice loud, but the car was just too quiet. Any noise that would occur would certainly scare anyone.
”what? Where?” Junseo was leaning over you to watch out your side of the car. His eyes frantically searching for whatever had caught your attention.
”that!” you tried to point your index finger as precisely a possible. Letting your finger push hard against the glass window and closing your left eye. Junseo tried to follow your finger to what it was pointing towards.
”ahh, that is lotte tower, I can take you there sometime. They have a nice bar in one of the top floors with an amazing view of Seoul” He had started at the building as he was talking to you. Your finger only left the window after he was done explaining about the tower.
The drive through the city went slow. The traffic wasn't bad, but it felt like they had a stoplight at every corner in the whole city center. But it could also be because of the awkward tension between everyone in the car. They all know that when you arrive, they are going to be the witnesses to you and Jimins first meeting.
No pressure right?
You were really nervous though. And it was uncomfortable to think about people watching your first meeting with Jimin. You found yourself wondering if that's how it's always gonna be with Jimin. He was famous after all. You had just hoped that you would have this moment for yourself.
You were starting to see that you were arriving on the rich side of town. Every building, flower, bench, and even the crosswalk looked expensive. You didn't belong here.
You suddenly stopped at a security gate. A huge fence blocking the car from continuing on driving. One of the two men guarding the gate came up to the driver's window. The other man was walking around the car and looking at me and Junseo. Mrs. Kim has just leaned over the driver to hand some papers to the security guard, not really seeming nervous about the men. They had talked only a couple of sentences each before Mrs.Kim turned around to look at me.
”This is as far as we are allowed to take you today, (y/n). These kind men will walk you up this hill to Jimins apartment. You can just walk straight in, the door is unlocked.”
You weren't ready. But then again you probably never would.
”okay, thanks guys. For the drive and all that.” you said looking down at your hands that we're lying comfortably on your lap.
”hey.” Junseo took your left hand and squeezed tightly. Then he gave you a piece of paper with his name and number on it.
”you know we are all just a phone call away if you need us. But I doubt you will. I know Jimin is gonna keep you busy. He has basically planned for this for his whole life. You are going to be eating good food, see beautiful places, have lots of fun, and meet everyone important to him. I promise you are gonna have the best time of your life, I am honestly a little afraid you might forget me after a few weeks with him.
You laughed. Tears were forming in the corner of your eyes. You couldn't tell if it was from nerves, happiness, or sadness. It almost felt like a mix of them all.
”thank you. I really appreciate you Junseo. Don't be mad though, when I start calling you about ice cream and that walk we talked about. I can be a bit annoying if things don't happen fast enough for me.”
You could see Mrs. Kim smile in the corner of your eyes.
«I like annoying.” was all Junseo said before you stepped out of the car. Only carrying your hand luggage, you had no idea when the rest would arrive.
The tall building he lived in was intimidating. It seems to reach beyond the clouds. Not the best place for one with a fear of heights, especially when he lives on the top two floors. You though the guard that followed you to the building was joking with you when he gave you a keycard to the elevator and told you to press floor number fifty-two.
The guard had let out a laugh at your reaction but did little to help you other than giving you a kind smile and a point with his index finger to the elevator.
He obviously didn't speak a word English, but you still found him cute with all his hand gestures and his broken English.
”Okay, okay, I am going don't worry. You can go down to your friend again. I just need a minute to try to calm myself before going into that death trap.”
He only let out another laugh but didn't move an inch.
Great.
You give the poor guy a smile before turning around and going into the elevator, pressing the fifty-second floor, and scanning your new keycard. You turned with your back to the door and faced the mirror that was covered the whole wall. Your make-up is completely ruined by your long journey and you find yourself regretting not using the time from the airport to jimins house to try to look at least a little more presentable.
You had decided to wear a navy blue jumpsuit. It was pretty and you slightly prayed that it would be enough to distract him from your face.
”hello.”
You haven't even noticed the elevator door opening, but as you lifted your gaze you saw his eyes on you through the mirror. He was standing in the hallway without shoes on.
He looked like an angel. Wearing all white and many accessories. The clothes he was wearing was baggy but made with a thin fabric, so thin that you could see the outline of the tattoo on his ribcage. His rings we're all gold-colored with different colored gemstones. His outfit was planned but relaxed.
Dark but gentle eyes started intensely on you. They held the stars. He had tears threatening to fall in the corners on both eyes, but you only saw it becomes the light hit his face perfectly, making his eyes shine.
He was biting the corner of his lip, as he was slightly swaying back and forth, shifting between one foot and the other.
Then you realized.
He was just as nervous as you.
”hi.”

Reacting To: Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts (Season 3 Episode 2)
Episode Title: Code Word Milkshake
Spoiler Warning: Kindly proceed if you’ve already seen the episode or are able to handle spoilers
1. OMG! A K-pop song? That’s so cool! It sounds like BTS lol. And the song is pretty catchy too 🎵; “Dive into my ocean of love”. It’s such a bop! We see the mutes (even the Mod Frogs) fangirling HARD. But what animals are these guys supposed to be? Are they dolphins? But why do they have horns? And apparently abs as well:
2. Aww but the leader of the group, Hyun Soo (as revealed in the subtitles) soon gets paralyzed by a dart and is kidnapped after signing fan autographs. And of course, it’s the doing of Dr. Emilia as she’s seen testing a serum sample on Hyun Soo. Again, I’m impressed with her ability to be so stealthy. However, she’s finding it difficult in getting the right formula for the genetic serum since none of the samples she’s used so far has worked on the kidnapped mutes. BTW, Jamack talking to Hyun Soo is hilarious.
3. In Timbercat Village, Kipo is planning with HMUFA a mission to find Emilia, rescue their friends and retrieve Song’s research journal. Oh, did Asher get a haircut? If so, they look really nice.
4. Our boy, Benson wants Troy to come along because he feels safer when he’s around. How precious! I’m happy he gets to go on a mission with Kipo for the first time too. It’s nice to mix groups up sometimes. And it looks like it’s just gonna be a human/hybrid-only mission because the mutes won’t be able to handle Emilia’s sonic emitter. Dave is upset that he won’t be able to tag along with them. I think it’s a good thing to sit this one out because he does have a tendency to die during their missions lol.
5. They manage to hitch a ride on a couple of dragonfly mutes due to Kipo coming up with the codeword, “Milkshake” to keep situations calm. Random but okay. As they’re flying over the sea, they spot a ship, which definitely belongs to Emilia since we hear Zane asking Greta to turn on the sonic emitter as some mysterious sea creature was circling around them. Because the dragonflies are not immune to the sound, this causes them all to fall into the water
6. The group tries to climb over the ship to get a peek of the situation aboard and they can see the burrow humans enjoying their time there, splish-splashing in a giant pool paired with a crazy slide and everything.
7. Dave lets Lio and Roberto know that he wants to have a boys night out (BNO) with them. But it’s clear that he’s doing this because he still feels salty about not being included in the stealth mission. Roberto looks like he doesn’t want to go out but Lio is down to hangout with Dave-o lol.
8. Back on the Dr. Emilia’s ship, Kipo and gang try to find her lab but they almost got spotted by a blonde human girl, who apparently is able to hear Hyun Soo sing through the cafeteria vents and thus, wants him to sing for her. Kipo and Troy actually recognize her from their old burrow. She’s actually Hoag’s daugther, Doag! I can’t believe he named his daughter that lol. Anyways, they were all actually friendly with one another, so we shall see if she’s willing to help them or not. Doag really likes dancing and we see her dancing around to Hyun Soo’s singing. She then does a split and spots them. Well, she doesn’t look alarmed actually.
9. Meanwhile, Dave and Lio are playing cards but afterward, they went to check out the so-called “community bonding” session between Timbercats and the Umlaut snakes. At first, it seems like they are having a huge argument but they’re actually just writing a song and having a couple of debates. It’s song-break time. This time, the song is called ‘Friendship Alliance’. How fitting. After the performance, Lio says he wants to go to bed but Dave isn’t done yet and wants him to check out his secret stash of explosion berry cola.
10. Doag explains to the group that Dr. Emilia has been treating them nicely so far but they want her to know the truth about Emilia who has been trying to kill Kipo since she was a baby. Plus, according to Troy (and Benson from earlier on), she didn’t eat his Benson’s pancakes. Troy is way more upset about the part about the pancakes, which of course he has to be since it’s his boo’s pancakes. But my goodness, Doag’s voice is like nails on the chalkboard. Don’t you agree?
11. I think it’s hard for them to convince her that Dr. Emilia is a bad person, especially since they don’t have any real evidence to show. Emilia is like a savior to these humans. Fortunately, Doag wants to help them rescue Boom-Boom, Jamack, Camille and Hyun Soo regardless.
12. She takes them to Dr. Emilia’s lab, which isn’t very hidden like they said lol. The door’s locked but Troy, the skilled magician was able to pick the lock no problem. Benson is impressed and he actually addressed him as his boyfriend! Cute!
13. They enter the lab and we see all the kidnapped mutes trapped in their individual mute-proof cells. Aww the way Jamack called Kipo, Burrow Girl was so sweet. He has come a really long way with her since Season 1 huh? I don’t know what’s up with Boom-Boom but she(?) doesn’t look too good, almost unhinged. So, Hyun Soo is known as a Dolphicon! I guess that’s short for Dolphin and Unicorn. That’s explains the horn. I actually like the name “Wall Siren” for him as well. Despite only speaking in Korean, Hyun Soo does seem to understand English when Doag asks him “who are you?”. I feel like the introduction of Hyun Soo is like paying homage to Kipo’s animation studio, Studio Mir, which is in fact South Korean.
14. Kipo proceeds to then break them out of their cells. Doag declares she’s going to help them escape. I actually hope there’s a chance that she would be part of Kipo’s group officially. She seems cool, mostly lol. Wolf also finds Song’s research journal but before they could make their escape, the traumatized Boom-Boom looks at the needles Dr. Emilia has been using on her, freaks out and drops her nectar bombs on them, which causes the whole lab to explode. Boom-Boom needs therapy for sure. Ughh…Wolf also accidentally drops the journal and leaves it behind the lab. That book is probably destroyed.
15. Back at Timbercat village, I assume Lio had already drank the cola before he is super hyped. Yumyan also joins in on their shenanigans and he gives them the idea to steal Molly’s axe and put it in an axe bush (is that what Yumyan said?). Also, is this supposed to be a pun or something?
16. Doag puts Hyun Soo in their getaway boat but it’s weird since he’s a dolphin and can just swim in the water instead lol. They’re supposed to leave now but Kipo wants to face Emilia now. I say she’s making a bad decision here. Dr. Emilia then arrive with Greta and Zane but Wolf takes out the latter two easily. The rest of the humans come out to the deck to see what the ruckus is all about and Emilia tries to play coy and innocent with them.
17. Hoag notices that his daughter isn’t around. Our heroes try to explain to the humans that Dr. Emilia is the bad guy; They told about how Song is the Mega Monkey and how she got her to attack and destroy their home back in Season 1. And they explain that she mind-controlled Song to kill her own daughter.
Even grandma can deliver a beatdown on someone lol
18.The humans are reluctant to believe them because it does sound very farfetched. But c’mon…they should know by know that Las Vistas is a messed up place; Anything can happen. Also, don’t they remember the Mega Monkey saving them from getting gilded in Season 2. Suddenly, Hoag makes an attempt to paralyze Kipo with one of the darts but she quickly reacts and knocks him out. The humans see this and they get mad at her. Eventually, Kipo and the others make their escape. Finally.
19. Back to Lio and Dave. We find out towards the end that Molly actually killed Dave 5 times for the stunt he pulled on her lol. Anyways, the both of them are glad to have this bonding session with one another since Kipo isn’t around.
20. Our heroes reach land but Doag wants to go back because she knows her dad is worried sick about her. And so, Hyun Soo and I guess the rest of his groupmates are bringing her back there. Aww, she should’ve stayed but I understand why she wants to go back to the ship. But to be honest, somebody should’ve thought to give her a communicator or a walkie-talkie or something because at least they can know what Dr. Emilia’s next move is. Perhaps they don’t really have to think too much into it since the journals has been decimated and all…or is it?
21. Wolf, I hope you’re happy you dropped the journal lol. Dr. Emilia figures out that Kipo is X. Wait, I’m trying to remember if there any mention of X in the previous episodes. Anyways, I wonder what she’s going to do with the fur Kipo left during their last confrontation. I guess since Kipo is a human who also has the DNA of apex predators, Emilia is going to play with her recombinant DNA and figure out a way to reverse the effects of the mute DNA so that only the normal DNA will be present? I dunno….
22. Last note/tiny bit of criticism: Is it just me or do you guys sometimes think that some of the character designs look a little wonky in this episode? Sometimes, I felt like Kipo, Benson and even Troy look a little off in some frames. Anyways, that’s the end of my review of episode 2. Stay tuned tomorrow for my review of episode 3. Thanks for reading everybody!
