GEE I HOPE THIS WAS WORTH WAITING FOR

OH MY GOD. The level of hatred I have for Harry Fucking Goddamn Potter, the culture around Harry Fucking Potter, extending its poisonous tentacles even to the concept of young adult fiction, fantasy, and the United Kingdom as a country and people. 

When you being on this, you may think, “Oh, Doc will explain that Harry Potter sucks because JKR hates trans women” and I will say, oh no, dear reader, that is a fantastic reason to hate the author, and I really suggest we all continue to hate her, and perhaps not purchase the QUEEN’S TONNES of officially licensed merchandise and movies and theme parks that give her stupid little fucking hands all that cash, but no, that is not why I hate the work. There are a number of great works done by terrible people, and the further out the lens of history gets the truer this is. 

I hate Harry Potter because it fucking sucks, and mentally stifled an entire fucking generation. 

“Well, Doc, Harry Potter was really there for me when--” Oh my god I could not fucking care LESS about your personal emotion connection to “orphan wizard boy turns out to be a rich aristocrat yet somehow less woke than Cinderella though” I have personally emotional connections to hot fucking garbage pails of media properties, and if someone came barreling through talking about the myriad ways in which they were horrible, I would be like, “Oh, you aren’t fucking wrong, pal” 

Harry Potter gained wild ass popularity in part due to its magnificent sorting system of Smart, Brave, Evil, and Other, because there’s nothing liberals like more than being able to put everyone’s personality into an easily labeled box, which is why astrology is so popular, or for the intellectuals, Myers-Briggs, which is just as fake but with the veneer of science. This allowed people to give into the tribalism they so desperately liked to pretend they did not possess, and also allow them to write thinkpieces about “The misunderstood Hufflepuff” or “Slytherins aren’t all bad!” or really anything that allows them to write a very real piece about their very imagined oppression for being a part of a totally fake house in a children’s book. Excellent use of your sociology degree, Kai, I thought the addition of phrases like, ‘Content of socialization” and “axes of oppression” really spoke to the struggles you face when wearing a green and silver scarf. 

The other reason it became popular is that it’s essentially wallpaper paste formed into characters. I have read all of the books, and I could not tell you even remotely what Harry’s defining personality traits are other than “protagonist”. In American, at least, a large part of it was the fascination with all things British, with the idea of boarding school and prefects and uniforms that aren’t inexplicably chinos and polo shirts for nine year olds. It allowed children to project onto something so bland that it could be anything. And for children, THAT’S FINE. There is a great deal of bland media made for children, but what I’m speaking to is the fandom, which is largely well over the age of 18. 

Because if we look at the books, are they...actually good? Was it good, or did I experience it as a child? I mean, honestly, on a literary level, are they, or was it just like we all watched Friends, we did it because everyone else was doing it, because I have a distinct memory of a series that involves such greats as “magical geegaws with poorly defined rules that are quickly forgotten despite being able to solve later problems quickly” or “Everyone loves Harry or is a bad guy, or secretly loved Harry all along” 

Oh, speaking of, man, if this was an actual well-written book, wouldn’t it have been wild to have Snape’s whole thing be to teach us that sometimes people do good things for the wrong reasons? Instead of naming your fucking child after the guy who ‘protected you’ because he still wanted to bone your mom? “After all this time” “Always.” 

While all this could have been explained, we have Quidditch added into the mix instead because 20 pages of the goddamn Puppy Bowl is exactly what I was looking for while I was waiting for JK to move the goddamn ball on literally any of these actual magical concepts. 

Harry Potter is a fucking trust fund baby, star quarterback, who grows up to be a cop and marries his high school sweetheart. (Speaking of, why were we shocked that JKR turned out to be a piece of shit when this was and always has been the conclusion of Harry Potter? Why are liberals so fucking into this series that upholds structures like it ain’t no one’s business? It’s a series that opines that those beneath us “Muggles” should be kept in the dark from us) Literally, he finds out he is a wizard and has a dragon-guarded fucking VAULT OF CASH. At 11. It’s such a series for little tyrants, you are special from birth and need do nothing to prove it, here is a letter certifying as such. Oh, not only are you rich and the greatest seeker and have excellent quips, but also your parents were not only rebels, but the best of rebels, and so deeply involved that your parents were killed by the big bad personally, again, because you are so special. His mother’s love literally saves his ass over and over again, because he was SO SPECIAL. He fought Voldemort FROM THE BEGINNING, and WON.  It’s literally the most privilege baby fantasy in the world.

A) Yeah, and you’re 32, you’re making my fucking point about Harry Potter setting an entire generation up for intellectual failure to launch. 

B) Okay, and? I can think of a bunch of kids’ books off the top of my head that in no way require specialness to be given by birth so as to roll out the red carpet for master protagonist. The Hunger Games. Watership Down. A Series of Unfortunate Events. The Chronicles of FUCKING NARNIA, about which I have only a small handful of particularly kind things to say. I’ve never read Percy Jackson, but it’s my understanding that despite his being a literal demigod, the attitudes of the supporting cast are allowed to fall between the extremes of “Appreciates Percy” and “naughty or will learn” Harry does nothing to improve himself even after knowing that he is HUNTED BY THE BIG BAD! “I won’t do this because I don’t like Snape”. So There” which, again, if this series were written with the slightest bit of care or know-how, could be a humbling fucking plot point! BUT NO THAT WOULD BE NAUGHTY. 

But the real reason I hate Harry Potter so much has everything to do with the fandom surrounding it, and how it intellectually stunted a generation of adults. The promise of Harry Potter was that it was supposed to make a new generation of readers, and so the popularity of them was pushed, and so there was discussion of teaching them in schools, but I tell you fucking what, I know a whole lot more folks who grew up reading Harry Potter that never advanced beyond reading YA, or even just rereading the entire series every year and that’s pretty much them done and dusted. 

In the attempt to recapture whatever it was about Harry Potter that attracted children (A lot of it was your peers doing it. I read them all as they came out, and it was literally the equivalent of watching the game so you could talk at the water cooler. That was never going to be recaptured) people, who by this time were likely in their teens, kept getting recommended stuff at the same and same level. No one ever felt pushed to read things that are challenging, to read things that have some of the concepts or themes of Harry Potter but maybe complicate. I know FAR more adults who read adult books that aren’t into Harry Potter, even if they were as children, than the reverse. 

But Doc, why is reading only books meant for 14 year olds a problem??? I mean I suppose I can’t convince you that comfort is not the job of literature or of life, it is the job of an easy chair, because Americans especially are decadent as fuck about being comfy cozy all the time and if anything causes them distress or pain it should be immediately avoided. But Maybe I can convince you that you’re fucking up these books for actual ass children who deserve to have their own writing section without adults bringing their fucking asses into it. They deserve their own spaces. There’s a number of YA editors who have talked about the difficult space YA now occupies because since Potter’s blowup, it’s no longer a niche category, but basically “adult easy reads” and so they have been buying books that are more about the tastes of adult buyers than of literal 14 year olds. 

Is that not...sad? To anyone else? Honestly, and this is not part of the essay because it’s a broader reaching problem, but CHILDREN’S MEDIA IS NOT FOR US. CHILDREN’S MEDIA IS NOT FOR US. CHILDREN’S MEDIA IS FOR FUCKING CHILDREN. The fucking 40-23 set really needs to get their shit together and grow up a little bit and engage in some fucking adult media, and maybe, if we support what we’re actually looking for FOR ADULTS, it will come to us. No one is saying you can’t read Harry Potter or watch some Cartoon Network show, but like, search your heart and come the fuck on. Engage in something more complex. If not for yourselves, for the kids getting shoved into simplified adult stories. It should not be about us. 

ANYWAY, my larger point is that it was Harry Potter, a badly written series about a magical boy who was chosen and magic and also rich and also a favorite of the headmaster and also more clever than most adults and also spoke the same magical snake language as the big bad and was also star quarterback, but at least there was a system in which you could buy a scarf in block colors and feel like you belonged to a team.

sirius black is an ISFP; an essay

TLDR: Sirius is an ISFP because he predominantly uses Fi (is very passionate, very attached to his emotions as shown by his anger in POA & OOTP and his empathy for Harry in GOF), and Se (physical excitement is important to him & he manages surviving out in the wild). We also see a little bit of his tertiary Ni (he tends to brood a lot & think deeply when attempting to help Harry through his struggles). He’s introverted (lets James take the lead and serves more of a supplementary role in conversations). So Fi is his dominant function & Se his auxiliary. I also talk about why Sirius doesn’t use Ne, Ni, or Si as upper functions & why the other upper Se types (ESTP, ESFP, ISTP) don’t fit him. 

hey y’all i’m here to do some REAL myers briggs typing of harry potter characters. i’m doing this because i’m SO tired of mistypings that i can’t bear it!!! i have found 0 sites on this internet that accurately type harry potter characters & even if they get some right, it’s almost never 100%. �� obviously it’s easier to type people rather than characters bc people are ~REAL~ and also because authors can be inconsistent whilst writing characters, bla bla bla. But JK Rowling, for the most part, is pretty good at creating characters with developed, consistent personalities, and Sirius Black is one of them. 

I’ll begin with typing Sirius’s upper Perceiving function, which is undoubtedly Se, or extroverted Sensing. Se-users perceive the world through their five senses, and thus are very in-tune with their physical surroundings. Sirius is very into physical thrills; his vehicle of choice is a FLYING MOTORCYCLE, enough said. He is easily able to adapt to restrictive physical conditions; while living in Azkaban among the dementors, Sirius is able to transform into his animagus form and literally swim all the way to the mainland. If that isn’t Se, idk what is. Throughout Sirius’s time post-Azkaban and pre-Order, he lives a vagabond life both in Scotland and in other countries. He seems to be able to easily navigate living in the outdoors. That doesn’t mean he’s comfortable (i.e. him living off rats in a cave during GOF), but he manages to sustain himself while simultaneously evading capture by the Ministry. In Snape’s Worst Memory, Sirius is extremely bored after sitting through a long O.W.L. exam, and needs James to do something to stimulate him. And all through OOTP, Sirius’s biggest conflict is a feeling of restlessness due to being stuck in Grimmauld Place. 

One thing I've also noticed about Se’s is that they are very perceptive of people's physical habits, sometimes to the point of intense scrutiny. In Snape’s Worst Memory (SWM), Sirius says he was watching Snape during the O.W.L. and how Snape’s greasy nose was glued to the exam paper the entire time. You can’t get more typical Se bullying than pointing out other people’s unappealing physical habits. In Grimmauld Place, Sirius tells Kreacher off for sneaking away family heirlooms while everyone's cleaning out the house. Being observant enough to notice someone sneaking something is a very typical Se thing to do (I’ve experienced it! .-.).  

So why aren’t Sirius’s upper perceiving functions Si, Ne, or Ni? Ne will be the easiest to explain, because Sirius quite obviously does not use it. Ne’s are usually detached from their surroundings, living in a rich inner world full of spontaneous ideas. Sirius is very much in touch with the environment around him and doesn’t have the playfulness that Ne users have. When he’s speaking, he's very clear and to the point, while Ne’s are abstract thinkers who like to bounce ideas around just for fun.

Sirius is not not an upper Ni user, but as an ISFP, he uses tertiary Ni, which we do see. Again, Sirius is too much in touch with his surroundings to be an introverted intuitive. But he does have a brooding nature, and whenever Harry’s in trouble, like when he’s talking to Sirius in GOF before the first task and telling him about all the odd things happening around him, Sirius quietly absorbs all the information Harry gives him (“He had let Harry talk himself into silence without interruption”) and is thoughtful (though not for the long and generally stays to the point), while trying to figure out what’s going on at Hogwarts ("I don’t know,” said Sirius slowly. 'I just don’t know…Karkaroff doesn’t strike me as the type who’d go back to Voldemort unless he knew Voldemort was powerful enough to protect him”). Though Sirius is generally a pretty brash person who doesn’t act with cautious and constant thoughtfulness as an Ni would, he knows how to utilize his Ni when he needs it. As Heidi Priebe’ says in her article How Each Cognitive Function Manifests Based On Its Position in Your Stacking, “As a tertiary function, Ni manifests as the desire to optimize or perfect upon one’s pre-existing talents or skills.”

Lastly, Sirius definitely does not use introverted Sensing (Si). Si is a past oriented function that stores exact details of past events. Si-users are relatively careful people who “get attached to past ways of doing things,” which is basically the exact opposite of Sirius. Adventure, thrill, and stimulation are his middle names!! 

So we’ve established that he’s an upper Se, which means Sirius could be an ESTP, ESFP, ISFP, or ISTP. 

Sirius is not an ESTP. This might be hard to believe since ESTP surface-level descriptions on the internet (thrill seeking/passionate/drama lovers) seem very much like Sirius. But Sirius isn’t an extrovert and as I’ll describe later on, he doesn’t use Ti. In the Pensieve during SWM, we see the Marauders interacting and James is pretty clearly the loud one, showing off his Quidditch skills to Wormtail and leading his and Sirius’s attack against Snape. James initiates the verbal attack (”All right, Snivellus?”) and James continues to initiate the provocations (”How’d the exam go, Snivelly?”) while Sirius only supplements the conversation (”I was watching him, his nose was touching the parchment…”). Sirius is not the leader, at least not verbally. He attacks Snape physically and is verbally vicious to him, but he’s not initiating the conversation the way James is. It’s hard for me to imagine an ESTP being a side character during a social scene. And we see Sirius being a side character multiple times; in POA, Sirius is bent on attacking Peter, and Lupin is the one who has to explain the backstory of the Marauders to Harry, Ron, and Hermione. Sirius is quieter, wanting to carry out the action and isn’t helping lead the conversation. Again, in OOTP, when we are with Sirius in Grimmauld Place, Sirius is relatively quiet. Yes, he gets angry at Dumbledore for forcing him to stay shut up in the house (honestly fuck Dumbledore), and at Molly for not filling in Harry about the work the Order’s doing. But otherwise, he’s not usually the center of attention. I concede, he’s most likely going through depression, but it still feels natural that he’s not super loud. I feel like an ESTP becoming quiet because of depression would mean that they were going through really severe depression, but it seems like Sirius’s case is more mild. He’s still pretty functional in plenty of other ways. 

Sirius is not an ESFP, and the reasons for this are very similar to those I gave for him not being an ESTP. He doesn’t lead actions and is relatively quiet. And all the ESFPs I’ve met— and I’ve met a variety of them (Most ESFPs I know are warm and ridiculously energetic, but I also know one who is more relaxed and blunt), but I’ve never met one who’s brooding. I just don’t think broody is a trait that can be ascribed to an ESFP, unless they are dangerously depressed. And again, I really don’t think this is the case with Sirius. (If you are or know a broody ESFPs, feel free to comment!) 

Sirius Black is not an ISTP. Sirius’s actions when he is passionate and angry do not mirror those of a dominant Ti and inferior Fe user. A dominant Ti would be unattached to conflict situations unlike a dominant Fi. A dominant Ti usually doesn’t like conflict, and I can only see them yelling or really losing their temper if their boundaries are invaded (i.e. if someone keeps trying to argue with them and won’t give them space). But otherwise, the ISTPs I know generally prefer to be alone when they’re angry. They might lash out by doing something more subtle; using their dominant Ti to bide their time & really plan something evil. Sirius is not like this at all. From the first time we meet him in POA, he is screaming at Pettigrew, ready to kill him without a second thought. He's completely raw in his anger at losing James and Lily to Wormtail's betrayal (“THEN YOU SHOULD HAVE DIED”). He’s completely immersed in his feelings the way a dominant Fi would be-- and I would know because I am one. 

All of Sirius's raw, pent up rage is flowing straight through his body and out of his mouth. As Fe users, ISTPs aren’t internally connected with their feelings enough to be able to express them so rawly. Fe is literally the function that expresses feelings in sync with the people around them. So the way Fe users express feelings always takes into consideration the people they are talking to and the environments they’re in. Sirius has no distance with his feelings at all. 

We see Sirius’s dominant Fi when he’s telling Harry that he “as good as” killed James and Lily. A dominant Fi is can be so deeply connected with their guilt that they equate facts to be on par with their feelings rather than the other way around. In other words, we change up facts a little bit (some people could say this is lying but I prefer to say passion-inspired inaccuracy), to match our feelings about a situation. Sirius is still deeply filled with remorse and sadness at Lily and James’ death and says “I don’t deny it,” when Harry accuses Sirius of killing his parents. 

When Harry recounts his meeting with Voldemort at the end of GOF in Dumbledore’s office, Sirius tightly grips Harry’s shoulders after he reports seeing his parents through Priori Incantatem. This is a gut reaction of intense empathy that is typical for a well-developed Fi. He’s also intent about Harry having rest after going through the ordeal (“We can leave that till morning, can’t we Dumbledore?” said Sirius harshly. He had put a hand on Harry’s shoulder. “Let him have a sleep. Let him rest.”). Fi’s, especially Fi’s who are also Se users are deeply aware of human physio-emotional needs. 

We continue to see Sirius’s Fi when Harry goes to Sirius for advice. ISTPs give logical, concrete suggestions when you tell them your feelings. But ISFPs (especially ones who aren’t the most socially mature) absorb your feelings and give suggestions based on what they feel themselves (i.e. Sirius telling Harry in OOTP after H believes he attacked Mr. Weasley, that Harry simply needs to go to sleep because he’s in shock. Sirius isn’t using logic to help Harry, he’s worried about Harry’s mental health and immediately lectures him instead of giving a logical solution like an ISTP would). Later in OOTP, Sirius earnestly tells Harry, “Look, your father was the best friend I ever had, and he was a good person. A lot of people are idiots at the age of fifteen. He grew out of it.” I repeat, this isn't logic. But then again, we IXFPs aren’t exactly logical when we’re talking about the people we love. And thus, in conclusion, Sirius’s function stack is Fi-Se-Ni-Te...in other words he’s an ISFP through and throughout.

share  a  funny  roleplay  horror  story :  recently an admin of a twitter rp tried to use my male muse for their weird ship narrative. they tried to make him look like an asshole (& i do play assholes but this one wasn’t one) + used another male muse to make it seem as if these two boys were fighting over the person’s girl, even though she actually had a ship all lined up. they were also running the gossip twitter, so they made up a bunch of stuff about our muses without our consent and consequently i told them to fuck off, and both of us left the group. then she had no more “groupies” so she cuffed and the group closed two days later. it was petty hilarious.

fondest  roleplay  memory :  once in an OC group, i wasn’t “technically” doing a ship with a friend, even though the characters had feelings for each other. but for some reason the status of their relationship was a hot topic group wide, meaning everybody had their nose in it and wanting to know what’s up, so they publically kept doing things to make people think they’re together while denying it in the same breath. it was really fun to let it play out like that.

Rant: Pop Culture Astrology

If you’re an astrology fanatic like myself, you’ve probably heard or seen comments like this:

“There’s way more than 12 types of people on this planet!”

“I’m a (insert sun sign here) and I’m nothing like it’s description!”

“Astrology is bullshit because I’m a (zodiac sign) and I’m dating a (poorly aspected sign to previous) and we get along great!”

“The stars can’t determine who people are that’s ridiculous”

   The list drags on, (comment any other statements you’ve come across). These statements make me want to choke on a fork. Astrology is often looked down upon for being “too generalized”, a common theme in the statements above, but anyone who’s cared to look up what a natal chart is knows it’s not true. Everyone has a birth chart as unique as their thumbprint, and the sun sign is just a tiny part of it. Even twins can have completely different moon and rising signs. Not to mention, there’s draconic charts, synastry charts, composite charts, 9 different persona charts per person, progressions, and soooo much more different charts. It’s also more than just the 12 signs too, there’s houses, angles, aspects, decans, transits, rulership, retrogrades, and more. But fuck all that! These people still really wanna sit here and tell me that astrology is a bunch of made up bullshit. I know it’s a lot for their tiny brains to handle but can you please not devalidate other people’s interests because you’re too ignorant to even try to understand them?! (Damn I gotta calm down lol).

   At the same time, I can’t blame people for thinking this way, (my Libra rising ass tryna keep the balance here). There are a lot of pages on Instagram that post generalized posts as their whole feed, and while I don’t have a problem with these posts at all, it is probably why so many people only have a “pop culture” view of the topic. You also see so many horoscope pages give out random weekly, monthly or daily forecasts. But little do most people know, the terms “horoscope” and “birth chart” can be used interchangeably. People are right when they say those daily horoscope things are inaccurate, because in order for it to be accurate, you need to be inputting a birth date, birth time, and birthplace/ coordinates. Also, if you are to look at horoscopes written by astrologers, (not random people on Snapchat), use your rising sign. The rising sign changes about every 2 hours while the sun stays in one sign for about 30 days, so the rising sign will give you a more personalized reading

   Another note is that people love to claim that astrology is some made up shit, but may believe in stuff like Harry Potter houses. So many people are against astrology because “it’s generalized into 12 signs” but no one cares that people believe the world can be sorted into 4 groups by a magical hat?? Astrology doesn’t “lay out your life” in great detail necessarily, (sorry Virgo), but may show you where your natural strengths and weaknesses are, some themes in your life, and stuff like that. But here’s something to think about, if the moon practically controls the oceans tides, which is a massive body of water that covers about 75% of the entire planet, why does it seem so weird to people that the position of the moon affects people, which are also about 75% water? Which faction(s) did they join and which did they destroy? Why?She doesn’t join any factions, but she is attempting to destroy the Raiders for destroying her home and taking her life away from her.

Give us a summary of their backstory.Laurie Anders was born in a small settlement in the Commonwealth Wasteland. When she was 12 Raiders burned the place down and slaughtered everyone; she only survived by hiding under her parents’ corpses. Once they left, she fled the area. She ended up becoming a pyromaniac because of this event, and a Med-X addict because it helped stop the emotional pain she was in.

What’s their full name and does it have a meaning? Do they have any nicknames and how did they get em?Laurie Melissa Anders. She doesn’t know the meaning of her name (and I just liked it). Her only nickname is “bitch” and that’s because she is a bitch to everyone.

1. Which Hogwarts house are you?

Gryffindor

2. Who is your favourite professor at Hogwarts?

Hagrid for the unconditional love that pours out of him and for being so loyal.

3. Would you have an owl, cat, or toad?

Owl.

4. Favourite character and why?

Luna - emotionally intelligent, compassionate, beautiful spirit and unafraid of being true to herself and standing by her friends. 

Hermione - passionate, fights for what is good & right in the world, badass feminist icon. Many more reasons!

5. Pro or anti Marauders?

I feel like James was a bit of an arsehole when he was at school to be honest. I mean I would have thought more Gryffindors would have stood up for Snape for one thing. That’s what Ron did for Hermione, and Hermione did for many elves. Maybe it was a side bully issue, it happens a lot in schools unfortunately, after all. Or they might have seen how Snape treated Lilly when she tried. I personally don’t like comparisons to Fred & George because Fred & George would never be so mean. They are pure fun seekers. I do love Remus. Sirius does things wrong yes, but love him too. He certainly redeems himself (like Percy). Non perfect characters are part of why I love the books so much.

6. Avada Kedavra, Crucio, or Imperio

I think I could never perform Crucio or Avada Kadavara and would prefer Crucio to Avada Kadavara being performed on me. Hopefully, it wouldn't be a Longbottom scenario but Hermione one. Not that is an ideal situation or anything! However, Imperio does freak me out, even though you can use it to do something relatively harmless like in Gringotts in Deathly Hallows, it still is so intrusive. 

7. Favourite book and why?

I find that too hard to answer! I love them all too much! If I I had to narrow it down I would go with 3, 5, 6 and 7 as they are beautiful in so many ways. 

8. Who do you think was the best father figure towards Harry?

I feel like the Weasley’s are the perfect parents to Harry. I know Sirius really feels like the perfect dad to Harry himself, but the Wesley’s are such brilliant, loving, supportive parents to their children, and then to Harry who becomes their adoptive family. Particularly Molly, who really does see Harry as her son! *Sobs thinking about her Boggart*

9. Favourite movie and why?

Half Blood Prince, because it is very loyal to the book, I love the cinematography and the acting. There are lots of other reasons but I also love that we get lots of passionate Hermione and brilliantly odd Luna. Also, Prisoner of Azkhaban. Again, the cinematography is beautiful. There are all these little details of the HP world that seem so like the book it is so great! The film is very loyal to the book in general and what a great, layered and twisty book that one is!

10. Which character do you relate to most, and why?

Luna - I found out we have the same Myers Briggs personality type, INFP. I have always felt a little odd in one way or another. But I also like the way that can make me see things round me. I feel that oddness, on top of an outcast like experience, can help in accepting others and understand people in emotional pain. I try my best to be like her. 

Hermione - I can get really heated and passionate about things I believe in, like equal rights, and it sometimes bores certain people or rubs them up the wrong way. Plus I love books! And I would like to think I would also stick by Harry in Goblet of Fire. Go Hermione.

11. Who was the most evil character?

I feel Umbridge has a lot to answer for a few reasons. I feel that Bellatrix and Voldermort are so far gone, as it were, that it is something they have convinced themselves is for ‘the greater good’. Whilst what they’re doing is completely disgusting and horrid, they have managed to convince themselves of this nevertheless. Umbridge, however, is a far more dangerous creature in my eyes. One reason for this is because I have been unfortunate enough to be manipulated by people like that. They don’t care if what they do is right or wrong. They use what they want for power. In fact, I feel she knows she is doing the wrong things and enjoys it. She really is awful!

12. Thoughts on Severus Snape?

Yes, he is unnecessarily cruel at times, but he has very complex inner turmoil he never got a chance to truly resolve and he worked so hard to do the right thing. Maybe for the wrong reasons, as some people like to point out, but they were his reasons and they are much truer, braver actions than some people would ever take in a situation like that, whatever reasons they have for it.The reasons that motivate us are not always the purest and humans don’t always behave in the best way, but he did something truly incredible that I admire.

13. Who was the bravest character in Harry Potter and why?

Hermione for several reasons. To name a few: she never abandons Harry, not for one minute; She is the one to stand up for those without a voice with S.P.E.W and does something so insanely cool and brave with the DA.

14. Best subject at Hogwarts?

Flying does seem awesome! Also charms because fun and useful!

15. Worst subject at Hogwarts?

History of Magic, that Proffessor Binns, bloody hell, could you listen to more than 5 minutes of him talking without falling asleep? 

16. Who would be your enemy or enemies at Hogwarts?

I would try not have any but anyone that bullied other people. Probably Malfoy in the first few books. But love the way his character evolves. Anyone that picked on Luna, I feel me and Ginny would have words with them. And Peeves, in a jokey way because his tricks would be so annoying.

17. Who would be your best friend at Hogwarts?

I’d love to have Harry and Hermione as my friends. Also Ron, not only for his merits (which I do admire) but he comes with his  amazing family. As I am in their house that gang seems the most likely. Obviously Luna! Neville, Hagrid, Dobby and some Hufflepuffs would be great too. 

18. If available, would you use a love potion on someone?

Unethical, no!

Probably Molly, but hard question!

Draco, for the way he grows throughout the books. Narcissa, for being a good mother despite being in an incredibly terrifying situation with an awful husband.

Probably a creepy, old fashioned doll. I really don’t know where this fear came from but I feel embarrassed by it too as it is supposed to be a toy.

Apparently, according to Pottermore, a big / wild cat that I have forgotten at the moment! I have put lioness before, I am a total stereotype of my house.

Fuck - Hermione or Ginny. I feel like this word makes me feel more intrusive than marry for some reason, and more presumptuous?

Marry - Luna! Plus, we have the same personality type - I think we would get on

Kill - I wouldn't want to kill Voldermort as Harry has to. I think Molly has to kill Bellatrix too. I think it would depend on the situation. I wouldn't actually kill her but I suppose Umbridge as I have wished death upon her many times.

24. Thoughts on Cursed Child: I see it as an alternative time-line - plus I enjoyed it on stage way more than when I read it.

25. Thoughts on Fantastic Beasts: I loved the first one. One thing I loved was what it says about bullying and outcasting people in society and what that can do internally. Not as much obviously. Haven’t seen the second one yet so can’t comment on it.

1. Which Fallout game are they from?       New Vegas // Originally from Four, changed due to preference and ease of access.

2. Which factions did they join and which did they destroy? Why?       If he had to pick, he would be independent. Definitely up for destroying the Legion, although despite his dislike and suspicion of the NCR he wouldn't act so readily to get rid of them. The Mojave Chapter of the Brotherhood isn't prevelant enough for him to really care, though he is slightly intimidated by their armor and guns.

4. Give us a summary of their backstory.       He was born in Freeside in 2264. His father, Michael, is retired from the NCR MP, and his mother, Heather, used to work in The Strip at Gamorrah. When he was six years old, Heather left Freeside and never returned. Archie never found out where she went to, though outside of his knowledge she had hitched a Caravan to the Commonwealth, and then eventually made her way to Maine. He spent most of his time outside of his house in Freeside with a boy named Castor and Castor's sister, Neta. When Archie was at home, he was the sole recipient of verbal, physical and mental abuse. When he turned fifteen, he fled Freeside. He's been wandering for two years, and has yet to settle into a new living situation. He takes whatever jobs he can find to make at least some Caps.

This name is borne by Archie Andrews, an American comic-book character created in 1941.       Archibald: Derived from the Germanic elements ercan "genuine" and bald "bold". The first element was altered due to the influence of Greek names beginning with the element αρχος (archos) meaning "master". The Normans brought this name to England. Other than that, it would actually surprie him if someone saw him as a girl.

7. Do they have any mental illnesses? How do they cope?       Bipolar Disorder Type II, Major Depressive Disorder, General Anxiety Disorder, Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder. He also suffers from constant nightmares. He's never really had any great coping mechanisms. Archie's constant manic episodes tended to lead him to do dangerous things and as a result sustain numerous injuries. Certain sounds are genuinely painful for him to listen to, such as the sound of chewing and even sometimes laughing. CPTSD has led to a mild fear of physical contact, sometimes turning severe depending on his current state. He just tries to get through each day and hope he doesn't tear someone's head off for something.

8. Do they have any medical conditions? Is medicine / treatment available for them?       He has pigeon-toe syndrome, which causes his kneecaps to be slightly misaligned. It isn't a big enough problem for him to be constantly bothered, but he has trouble standing and walking for long periods of time. It affects both of his knees, but primarily the left knee. There's not much he knows of that can fix that. He used to have glasses for his bad eyesight, but they were broken when he left Freeside. He can't wear any other pair that he's found so far without getting migraines. Suffers from an intolerance to eggs and dairy, although he doesn't encounter either of these often enough for it to be a problem. If he ingests too much of either, however, it causes his asthma to flare up.

9. How much do they care about their outer appearance? What’s their “beauty routine”? How often do they shower/ bathe?       He tries to keep his hair shorter than his ears, although that never really works out. That's probably the only thing he really cares about. Archie tries to clean himself as often as he can, although he tends to forget half the time.

90: talk about your one of you favorite cities.Ummmm can I talk about my own? I fucking love my city!! Asheville isn’t too big or too small. There’s a brewery every 2 seconds. It’s liberal as hell (especially for the south….don’t blame Buncombe County, bro. We voted for Bernie in the primaries!!!) with a super weird mix of people every where you go. Downtown is cool (I grew up here so I’m kinda over it but still) but you’re a hop and skip away from the Blue Ridge Parkway, which I frequent like 3 times a week. Seriously beautiful views/hiking trails/waterfalls. Did I mention I love my city?

OK SO TO START OUT a quick summary of this character: marion tremblay, 26 years old, they/them pronouns, a courier six (but i might write them into a non-six role idk) with Sight Gone Wrong. imagine savestates, but the character only experiences the "canonical" ie last save. so they go from neutral to knowing exactly how to process a situation, but it causes a LOT of stress on them, including an incredibly distinctive negative feeling when a "save" occurs and nightmares depicting all the plays gone wrong. in addition, the successful path isnt always harmless, and often leads to heavy injury - just not death. not to mention the fact that the successful path doesnt always help people theyre trying to help, just them.

marion is incredibly stressed and doesnt get it, runs into danger and knows exactly what to do, doesnt know why, doesnt understand how it all adds together, and doesnt understand to maybe take it a little slower. then again, when they try to chill out and live normally the nightmares just get worse and worse. so basically they self medicate to dull the dreams a bit and it just makes everything even more stressful.

theyre a courier/jack of all trades/mercenary type that uses a recharger pistol, and has no self of self preservation. is struggling, indulges often, and is impossibly easy to charm. does things for the fuck of it, anxious, hesitantly affectionate, eventually very protective and supportive, childish and constantly tired lol.

Why? they end up joining the ncr - they have plans and intentions to go for a free vegas, but realize eventually that the ncr is probably a lot closer to a safe vegas than they were before. kind of insists that the people get a say in things.

DOES have enough time to basically fuss with all the families on the strip and various societies - basically destroys the omertas, takes a long time and a lot of trauma to fix the situation of the white glove society, keeps house alive but out of power which basically really fucks marion up for a long long time, they then spend a million years slowly working their way into the brotherhood of steel to try to get them to kind of... not be involved anymore, same with the khans

Give us a summary of their backstory. OK SO... marion was part of a pretty biggish family closer up north, just kind of, they did business and were vaguely well off. they were always pretty pretentious and loved reading books n shit, tinkering with tech, so their parents were v happy with it. then around the age of thirteen their sight started kicking in, which manifested itself at first as just like a really heavy uneasy feeling whenever something was about to happen, and later kind of... worked itself into what it is now. anyway, they didnt cope very well with it and ended up fucking up a lot of relationships and things when they booked it at about seventeen.

at which point they kind of became a jack of all trades, constantly travelling, settling generally in the mojave. courier mostly at first, then eventually also a mercenary when the business started booming. they constantly had like, at least a couple dozen things going on, so occasionally they would forget a job or two. but considering their sight, they more or less had the ability to go into places that literally no one else could and come out bruised and bloodied but alive. so generally? business was good.

they did a lot of putzing around the strip, helped the followers a bit, etc. just generally has a little bit of history in most parts of the mojave.

after they got shot they forgot some... importantish things, but anyway they eventually fucked off, got ed-e, wandered around, rescued raul+visited him until they eventually just invited him along.

Do they recognize it as a flaw? their total lack of self-preservation and knowledge of self. like theyll do unhealthy stuff and get totally confused why they feel like shit, dont understand that running into things carelessly is what is making them constantly anxious and depressed, and they think that their inability to talk to people is what is fucking things up

What are they most insecure about? they pretty much lack any insecurity. they know theyre pretty bad at talking to people, but theyre not so much nervous about it as just dont really like doing it

Deathclaws, super mutants, raiders) most bugs actually. since their sight kind of just keeps them from dying, it usually keeps them from dealing with deathclaws at all - but hanging around cazadores and getting poisoned just kind of means downing so many bottles of water and antivenoms, and it fucking Hurts. plus they just find the way they move really really disgusting lol

they play harmonica! they like to think up songs, make harmonies to the songs on the radio. when they were little they liked to fuss with math puzzles and science shit but lost a lot of the focus as their sight got stronger, stopped being able to sit still long enough to really work on stuff. they like to fuss with ed-e sometimes lol. upgrades n stuff. polishin him

How do they celebrate it? when marion was more into consistent courier-ing, they liked pretty much any holiday that people sent gifts to each other. good for business, it was nice to see people so happy, PLUS people always tipped really well and gave them free food n stuff out of thankfulness.

What’s their favorite season? autumn, mostly - most fair weather. loves the winter when theres no storms or anything - nice to wear lots of layers of clothing and have it be appropriate.

Do they have a temper or are they level headed? pretty level headed, but when they lose their temper they sound kind of ridiculous because their voice gets really high and they??? talk like???? this?????? and theres a lot of gesturing.

they dont really so much lose their temper when they go into combat situations simply because they tend to go from zero to everyones dead, pew pew pew. it does happen sometimes in really tough, long situations, but as it turns out being angry doesnt really make your laser pistol shoot any better or harder Do they express their emotions freely or hide their true feelings? theyre so un-in-tune with their own feelings that they tend to not understand why or what theyre feeling. so its not so much hiding as like ????!??!!?!?!?!?

How do they come off to others? What first impression do they usually make? creepy. first impression is generally that theyre very businesslike, probably too frail to complete a job. “whys this person being so nice when they look like they want to eat me”

Current companion if any? they basically never travelled with a companion until recently. started traveling with ed-e, basically just because he makes sounds when things are happening, eventually found raul and after a good couple times of going back to him to get their laser pistol fixed just kind of invited him to come along. didnt realize he wouldnt be able to fix their pistol on the way lol

Does it depend on the situation? they have the ability to be pretty selfless for the most part since theyre pretty well off from all the work they did before getting shot in the head. on the other hand, theyre not really used to hanging out with other people so theyre kind of selfish when it comes to food n stuff, at least until they got sassed enough for it

Do they sneak? they are TOTAL SHIT at sneaking, for like no reason. theyre just... really not athletically inclined. their strategy is usually run and gun, dont stop moving, ABS - always be shooting. turns out when you have a rechargeable gun and the luck of the devil, it doesnt matter how many bullets you take as long as you win lol

What weapon(s) do they always carry with them? recharger pistol!!! they also carry a tiny bowie knife just in case. mostly used to cut plants off stems and cut meat off things. its a whole experience

Their most prized possession? pretty much everything they own is replaceable. the harmonica is nice, cause it pretty much still works entirely, but its definitely not super special or anything. theyd still sell it for a nice meal though

Their thoughts on power armor? a nice idea, but full heavy armor makes it kind of difficult to travel large distances, especially over mountains n shit

Favorite armor/ outfit? gecko-backed leather armor, plus a shitty hood they slapped on top of it. they think it looks so cool, plus its plain enough that its comfortable. they really want a tux lol

How’s their aim? Do their hands shake while pointing a gun? a gun? yes. a laser pistol? no. the second things have like, physical bullets in it, they get super stressed. using lasers instead of pistols or bullets allows a certain level of, like, disconnection from the situation.

What are their thoughts on having to kill on a daily bases in order to survive? Does it take a toll on them? Or do they shake it off rather easily? they really hate it. but honestly they get worse nightmares if they dont keep doing things, like constantly. they prefer to not really have to kill people, so tend to like... threaten and bluster their way through things pretty often. they wont chase down a fleeing enemy unless theyre really super in the zone

Thoughts on death if any? (ex. Fear it, accept it) definitely fear. they pretty much cant die, so theyre pretty confident about it, but its mostly because they manage to disconnect so much from situations that it basically just gives them night terrors. like i said before, complete disconnection from their own emotions. basically a whole lot of marions problems could be fixed by accepting that maybe running into danger is a bad idea, even if they basically cant die.

tl;dr, they think they accept it, but 100% fear

Do they move around a lot or prefer to have a place to call home? they move around SO much. marions pretty much been on the move since they turned 17, constantly doing just about anything they could get their hands on. a million jobs all at once

What’s their favorite location? the strip. they pretty much used to spend most of their spare time down there - loved the food at the ultra luxe, the booze n drugs at gomorrah, and the music company and games at the tops. a couple days of throwing caps down the drain, followed by doing a bunch of odd jobs in the area is a good way of spending a whole week. then, once they had enough messages and packages and people to kill/find, theyd take off again

Their opinions on ghouls, feral and not feral? marion kind of sees themself in feral ghouls. impossible to kill, but at what cost, etc etc. very angsty. thinks ghoul voices are actually kind of pretty

Do they scavenge for their supplies or simply buy them? combination. scavenges what they can, buys the rest. when youre as lucky as they are when finding bullets and bits, you definitely have enough caps for everything else. since theyre shit at repairing, they always get their equipment repaired while out

Are they the type to get distracted and go off to an unknown nearby location or do they stay on track? they definitely amble. long term plans are definite, but when you have maybe five jobs happening at once it doesnt hurt to step aside and grab a new one on the way

How do they sleep? Are they picky about where and how or can they sleep basically anywhere? they tend to get themself pretty blitzed to be able to sleep with few dreams. as a result they can pretty much sleep anywhere, but theyre pretty fitful about it

What’s their favorite radio station and song? (post-apocalypse) they used to like butcher pete but got pretty tired of it after a good, long amount of time. now they think aint that a kick in the head is super funny. since they got shot in the head.

theyre okay with literally every radio station, but likes black mountain radio a lot even though its a lot weirder than it was before. theyre really not sure if the people on the radio are uh ok but uh. makes it a point to eventually check that out.

What’s their favorite post-apocalyptic food? Are they a picky eater? Do they know how to cook? they fucking LOVE fresh fruit - trail mix is a huge fave, nd theyll pay pretty much any amount of money for it, especially since it keeps pretty well. theyre also a fan of like, gourmet shit, since they have the money to spend on it. good steaks are nice. theyre pretty picky, but they usually have a pretty good supply of long-keeping foods to eat on the road. they cant really cook that well though

What’s their favorite beverage? Do they drink alcohol? vodka is a fave. gets them real drunk real fast. a long time ago they managed to trade for some nuka-cherry and its basically their favourite thing in the whole world??????? has a weird distaste for sunset sarsaparilla and gives it all to raul

Do they have any tag skills? energy weapons, science, medicine. really good with e.weapons, more than decent with science, pretty good with medicine. mostly out of patching self up.

Are they good at disarming traps or do they constantly miss them? theyre pretty shitty at getting traps, but their luck is amazing with it. they can pretty much walk through a minefield just fine. like running through is safer than trying to disarm, because when you run through a minefield you either die or you dont - when you try really delicately you might blow some important bits up, but you wont die lol

idk you guys I made a harry potter verse a while ago but never used it.  I may make another one later that has nothing to do with what I wrote for this meme lol.  For the sake of this meme, though, I’m going to assume that Kafei’s parents are snooty and rich, obviously.......but muggles.  idk you guys!!  It would be easy to just be like oh yah they’re definitely snooty pureblood wizards.  But like!  Clock Town already has like widespread fantasy discrimination against deku scrubs etc. etc. and it’s already awkward to find a good balance between being honest and real about that aspect of the source material, & not writing about a terrible person who jumps at the chance to decide others are inferior.  I don’t HAVE to write about shitty wizards too lol; and I’m not going to.

MUGGLES

What is your character’s opinion of Muggles?  It’s useful to him when someone blatantly dislikes them because then he knows right away to avoid that person at all costs.  He hates the word because it literally has a funny sound and literally carries a degrading edge to its meaning.  Why is this the wizard word for human beings.  What the fuck.

Does your character look down on Muggleborns? He’s well aware that muggleborns are considered unworthy by some.  He tries to be conscious of what his audience may expect from him, and tailor his actions to try and optimize his outcomes.  That comes with some measure of looking down on himself and muggleborns, to sort of immerse himself enough in the “game” to instinctively know how to play.  But logically he considers looking down on muggleborns ridiculous and cruel. 

Would your character ever use the phrase ‘Mudblood’? He might use the word in a sentence if it served him, maybe talking about himself.  He wouldn’t direct it at a specific muggleborn student, to their face or not.  Also...he’s of the opinion that the word “muggle,” with the meaning wizards attach to it, is a gross thing to call another human; and nobody bats an eye if you say that word?  If being shitty to people is the law of the land, he’s already pretty scandalized at the gate, “mudblood” isn’t necessarily going to shock or horrify him.  Wizards think human beings who aren’t wizards are a few steps above animals, wizards can basically just shut the fuck up in general.  Wizards who make an elaborate show of rejecting ‘mudblood’ but use ‘muggle’ uncritically are some wizards he doesn’t want to be around.

What was your character’s House?  Ravenclaw

Was your character happy with their House? Did they feel the Hat was wrong?  He was super honored by it when he was a kid.  He was still figuring out his place in this new weird world, and the hat said he was Smart and he Liked That.  As he gets older, he starts to see the house labels as tools for putting people in boxes and stirring up pointless competition.  Intrinsically he sees house identities as harmless Myers-Briggs test type results, but he really rejects the way the school focuses on them so damn much, and the way the students organize themselves as suggested (a true Ravenclaw!).

What is your character’s opinion of the other Houses?  Like “muggles,” the people in the other houses are human beings with infinite possibility, who happen to be different from him in the one respect.  

Did they have many friends in the other houses?  Did he have many friends?

Which subjects did your character take?  Having just learned about this magical world, he wants to understand it, as a sort of safety measure. ��Get caught up before inexperience is used against him.  Once he feels like he’s really part of that world and has a good shot at defending himself from this or that, meanwhile, unsuspecting teachers will meet... What OWLs and NEWTs did your character achieve?  Depends on when Lazy Kafei arrived.

BEINGS & BEASTS

Does your character or their family own a House Elf?  His parents would probably keep a hose elf if they were given one, and Kafei doesn’t really want them to ever find out house elves are a Thing...

Would your character join SPEW because they support House Elf Rights or to shut Hermione up?  He wouldn’t join SPEW at all because taking a stand on something makes you an obvious target.  But he’d be generally sympathetic to the cause.

Does your character consider Werewolves to be Beings or Beasts? Beings, though he’d prioritize his own survival at all costs if that came up.

Would your character stop being friends with someone after learning they’re a Werewolf?  Maybe.  He’d keep their secret, though.

Can they cast a Patronus?  Either a cat or a fox, if he can cast one.  He might not end up learning any time soon.  He’s a sad, defensive coward, leaning towards realism/pessimism in terms of how much danger he might be in at a given moment.  He’s not going to be great at thinking up a super happy memory when he’s in distress.  He’s also not going to be great at thinking up a super happy memory if some teacher is wATCHING him?  And GRADING him?  Reliving happy memories is a deeply private experience, a vulnerability, fuck off. 

What is your character’s Boggart? Is it embarrassing for them?   Maybe it just fuckin... I don’t know, keeps changing forms, too quickly to really focus on a given one?  And all of the forms are recognizeable as things that do scare him, like his parents?  Because he’s afraid of A LOT of things; and he’s also afraid of not knowing enough about a thing to protect himself from it (other people DO NOT help, they never have, he has no reason to suspect they ever will, it’s just him against anything he faces).  

Has your character ever thought about or tried to become an Animagus? What form do or do they think they would take?  He’s curious about it, sure, but he’s really reluctant to experiment with casting magic on himself, especially serious magic.  Plus, students aren’t allowed to do that.  He supremely doesn’t want to get in trouble for things; a habit carried over from his home life.  He is interested, meanwhile, in assembling a general  magical bag of tricks for illusions, diversions, secrecy, etc.  There’s probably an easier, less intrusive way to hide from people than turning yourself into a dog.  Would he start a rumor that he has an animagus form, if it served him?  Oh yes.

She was born in freeside, her parents were really just fireside bums n so she never really had a strong sense of family. She sorta roamed around freeside as a  kid and tried her best to stay out of trouble.. she still found trouble tho , but luckily she sort of had the skill to weasel her way out of it. Eventually when she got to be a teenager her ability to get out of sticky situations sorta came in handy n she decided to become a courier! n then she got the platinum chip n benny came along u know the rest

yea i say it does. especially in the NCR mission to go into the vault and choose whether to kill the trapped people or help the NCR.. she sometimes regrets her choices but she learns to move on

He originally was going to join up with Mister House, but once the man asked the courier to destroy the Brotherhood of Steel, Travis balked and said no fucking way. You don’t go against your allies like that. They trusted him and called him brother. He wasn’t about to be a backstabbing betrayer. As for what he destroyed it was most certainly Caesar’s Legion. Although the man did have a few good ideas, Travis couldn’t sit by and allow slavery, mistreatment of women, destruction of the remaining Tribals, and many other things. Lawful Good, Chaotic Evil)Travis has been told more often than not he’s too good for his own good.  He won’t knowingly harm an innocent nor steal from someone unless it can’t be helped.  He doesn’t even particularly care for killing bad guys, but he most certainly will not hesitate when it comes down to it.  He does his best to uphold any laws and morals, but sometimes out in the wasteland things like that have to be ignored.  Still, he’s not totally “good” per say and will do things considered bad, especially if it means his own survival.  If it means saving his ass, or someone he cares about, Travis will lie, cheat, steal, kill, etc…anything to assure he lives to see another day.20.  Do they have any hobbies? What are they?Travis loves collecting anything related to Nuka Cola. He also loves to collect as many pre-war books as he can to add to his already massive collection. However, his most favorite thing to do is repairing things and trying to get junk in the Mojave re-purposed. He already made himself a running motorcycle which operates on the fuel cores from Mister Handy robots. Currently he’s building himself a life sized horse based on the smaller toy models of Giddy-up Buttercup. He’s not exactly sure how he’s going to get it to function or work right now, but he’s not giving up and has high hopes for his latest creation.21.  Do they have a favorite holiday? How do they celebrate it?Up until recently Travis had no clue what holidays were all about.  His partner introduced him to Christmas so of course that's his favorite holiday.  They celebrated by getting a small pine tree from the woods, decorated it with paper cutouts and shot gun shell casings topped off with a glowing bottle of Nuka Cola Quartz.  This was all followed by a small gift exchange and a nice meal with close friends.22.  What’s their favorite season?Being in the desert there really aren't seasons.  However, he does love when he's on the east coast and spring arrives.23.  Do they have a temper or are they level headed?For the most part Travis is quite level headed and it takes a lot to really piss him off, but once that happens look out.24.  Do they express their emotions freely or hide their true feelings?Angry he always tries to hide because it can be a very destructive emotion from him if given the chance.  Sad can be considered weak and weakness isn’t anything a person wants to have shown out in the Mojave.  Those are the two main ones he’d try and keep hid if possible.  Fear he most certainly hides.  You never let an enemy know what gets to you and sometimes not even your closest friends.  Fear can always be used against you.  For the more positive emotions like joy and love, Travis certainly has no problem expressing those.25.  Are they a leader or a follower?Even though Travis has led people into battle and is currently co-ruling New Vegas, he hardly feels he's a leader at all.  He would much rather take orders and do things for someone else instead of having sole responsibility for something.26.  How do they come off to others? What first impression do they usually make?People generally see Travis as friendly and helpful and sometimes a push-over. The latter is something he’s certainly not, but people tend to see him that way because he is so caring and generous. Generally those are the people that try and take advantage of him and his good nature.27.  Do they prefer to travel alone or with company? Who have they traveled with if any? Current companion if any?Although he does enjoy solitude more often than not, Travis does enjoy being with his cyberdog Rex and eyebot ED-E. He’s traveled quite a lot with Craig Boone and did enjoy his company to more than just a companion.  Currently he has his cyberdog and eyebot and bonded partner from the Boston Commonwealth.28.  Would you describe them as selfless or selfish? Does it depend on the situation?Travis is very generous and always tries to make other people happy or comfortable before doing so for himself.  Even if he tries to be selfish that feeling doesn’t last for long and he still ends up helping someone anyway.29.  What do they find most attractive in others? (doesn’t have to be romantic attraction)For psychological trait Travis loves intelligent conversation.  Nothing irritates him more than talking to someone who’s so dense it’s a miracle they even know how to tie their own shoes let alone survive in the world.  He likes someone that’s at least close enough to his own intelligence, but a little over he doesn’t mind either.  Travis loves learning new things.  However, the person in question should not so intellectual where it makes everything spoken become a task to listen to and understand.  Physical he’d have to go for the cliche feature of a smile.  A true and genuine smile is one way to certainly get Travis’ attention.  He’ll know if you can be trusted or if you’re a faker depending on how you smile.  Like the eyes, one can read a lot through a smile and fortunately for Travis he’s learned to read them pretty good.30.  Do they flirt often? How easily do they fall in love?He is a smooth talker and can use this ability to get what he wants even if it means flirting, but that's as far as anything would go.  He also doesn't fall in love easily either.  He might develop a crush, but for actual love to show it would have to be something groomed and tended to in order for it to blossom. He’s only been in love three times in his entire life and the third is most certainly the last as he loves him more than anything.31.  What’s their love life like? Are they interested in anyone or in a relationship?His love life is fantastic as he's with the most amazing man in the world.  He's very happy, content, and deeply satisfied in both the mental and physical.32.  Do they prefer to solve things diplomatically or using violence?Travis is peaceful by nature so he would much rather try and talk out a situation rather than blasting everything away.  Sometimes folks can't listen to reason so of course he'd have to get physical.33.  What is their combat style? What range do they prefer? Do they sneak?He's very calculating and thinks about a situation before rushing in with guns blazing.  He can and will sneak for the most part as that's part of his being calculating.  As for range, that's what his sniper rifle is for.  He'll pick off the most dangerous enemies first or at least lure them in closer so he can blast them with explosives or his powerful rifle.34.  What weapon(s) do they always carry with them?His rifle named Medicine Stick.  He also has his scoped, silenced sniper rifle. One can also always find any sort of explosive with him IE dynamite, mines, or grenades.35.  Their most prized possession?His rifle Medicine Stick.  It’s very powerful and it’s the one gun he’ll use above all else at all times.  He likes the feel it has in his hands and he loves the sound it makes when fired.  Most of all, he loves the leather cover hand-stitched on the stock that is adorned with a sewn Tribal Medicine Wheel with beads and feathers.36.  Their thoughts on power armor?He honestly has no use for it.  He was trained to operate it, but doesn't like it in the least bit.  He feels it's too big and bulky to do much good.  Granted you might be protected more, but you really aren't as you have no agility or way to get out of a bad situation quickly.37.  Favorite armor/ outfit?Armor wise Travis loves his elite riot gear as it's quite sturdy and offers great protection as well as making him look good.  His regular outfit is a red plaid shirt, blue jeans, black cowboy boots, and a black cowboy hat.38.  How’s their aim? Do their hands shake while pointing a gun?When Travis rejoined the world of the living after being shot in the head, his aim and gun skills literally were pathetic.  Thankfully as his time in the Mojave went on, Travis’ aim became more true.  It wasn’t until he spent a lot of time with an NCR 1st Recon man named Craig Boone that his shooting skills became honed and seriously deadly.  He now nails headshots more often than not and sometimes at a full run.  His aim is true and he generally uses one bullet to kill someone these days.  As for hands shaking, only when he’s truly upset about a situation IE friend being harmed or going to be harmed in close proximity.  When that happens he’ll generally use the gun as a striking weapon instead and bash the enemy upside the head with the stock and continue to beat on them until they’re no more.39.  What are their thoughts on having to kill on a daily bases in order to survive? Does it take a toll on them? Or do they shake it off rather easily?Fortunately not too many people or critters harassed Travis to the point where he had to kill them on a daily basis. Powder Gangers flee in terror when they see him and for the most part Fiends are all but non-existent these days. Legion was the only folks he had to constantly be on the look out for and even then it wasn’t daily. In their case it was always self-defense on Travis’ part, it wasn’t like he was seeking them out to kill them. Travis is very passive for the most part. He doesn’t enjoy having to kill anything, self-defense or not, but it also doesn’t bother him. He’s not jaded, just a realist and knows it’s a cold hard fact of life in the Mojave.40.  Thoughts on death if any? (ex. Fear it, accept it)Since Travis has already been considered dead once already, he doesn’t think much of death anymore.  He’s not afraid to die now and almost feels invincible as a result of what happened to him.  He was lucky the first time in cheating death and he knows he might not be so lucky again, but he does accept it as a harsh reality.  These days, however, he’s more afraid of death happening to the one he loves as opposed to himself.  In that aspect he truly does fear death.  41.  Do they move around a lot or prefer to have a place to call home?His home will always be out in the Mojave.  He does travel back and forth every six months to the Boston Commonwealth.  42.  What’s their favorite location?Anywhere that his partner may be....but mostly in the desert of the Mojave.  43.  Their opinions on ghouls, feral and not feral?Travis has sympathy for all ghouls in all honesty. He does what he can to help those with their wits still about them. He also has no problem in putting a bullet in the head of those ferals as it comes down to being a “kill or be killed” in most situations upon meeting them. However, some time ago, he had a horrible nightmare which involved a ghoul and currently he has a very different attitude towards them. He’ll help if need be, but mostly now he’d much rather avoid them. He doesn’t want to resurrect the images from his nightmare because he knows it’ll set him off on some kind of angry rage and he’ll end up slaughtering the hapless beings.44.  Do they scavenge for their supplies or simply buy them?Travis likes to nose around looking for things overlooked or left behind. However, he knows that people do need to make a living out in the wasteland so he tries to buy from local merchants as much as possible to give them support.45.  Are they the type to get distracted and go off to an unknown nearby location or do they stay on track?For the most part Travis tries his best to stay on track with what he’s supposed to be doing. However, he’s quite curious and a little bit nosy and can and will drift off to check out something or explore a cave he discovers. Sometimes these distractions prove to be pointless, but a lot of times he ends up unwittingly helping someone as a result or even finding things to help himself like piles of forgotten caps, ammunition, or even on occasion weapons and armor that he can sell to traders for what he really needs.46.  How do they sleep? Are they picky about where and how or can they sleep basically anywhere?Travis can sleep anywhere at any time.  His only nit-pick would be sheets.  They have to be clean and he does keep a set with him in his pack just in case clean sheets somewhere is not an option.47.  What’s their favorite radio station and song? (post-apocalypse)Travis loves the Mojave Music Radio station.  He used to like Radio New Vegas, but once his deeds started to get well known and he became the headline in the news given by Mister New Vegas more often than not, well, Travis couldn’t stand it so he stopped listening.  The Mojave station provides some great tunes including a lot of great western/country songs.  His favorite being “Big Iron” performed by the pre-war star Marty Robbins.   48.  What’s their favorite post-apocalyptic food? Are they a picky eater? Do they know how to cook?Travis loves brahmin steak and gecko stew.  He's not picky at all as one can't afford that trait being out in the desert.  He does know how to cook and really well.  He makes a great stew and a great omelette.49.  What’s their favorite beverage? Do they drink alcohol?He does love Nuka Cola and has a small liking for Sunset Sarsaparilla.  He does drink alcohol and prefers beer above all else.  He will drink whiskey, but sparingly as the first time he really celebrated he got really sick and doesn't want to feel that again...but that won't stop him from getting drunk from time to time.50.  Do they have any tag skills?Guns, melee, and sneak51.  Anything they like to collect? (ex. Unique weapons, Bobbleheads)He loves pre-war toys and especially anything pertaining to Nuka Cola.52.  Are they good at disarming traps or do they constantly miss them?For the most part he does very well at disarming any traps, but that's if he discovers them first.  Lots of times he plows into a location only to set off grenade traps or even get hit with metal beams put in doorways.  He also got his leg snapped in a bear trap a few times, but fortunately those few times the items were seriously rusted so they didn't cause him too much damage.
