Who’s Juniperclaw again? Also the quote about ruthlessness? Staring curiously
Canon!Juniperclaw is tigerHeartstar's nephew, son of Dawnpelt and brother to Strikestone and Sleekwhisker.
He was the first deputy of ShadowClan after tigerHeartstar's return, until he tried to pressure SkyClan into leaving the Lake in AVOS by poisoning their food. No one was hurt any worse than "bad tummyache," but he was exiled anyway. He then died rescuing Shadowkit from a flooded river QuickTime event.
We found out that he went to the Dark Forest in TBC. He was allowed to become the guardian of the tunnel between the Place of No Stars and StarClan's Hunting Grounds, in the hopes of finding redemption.
For BB this is all a bit different;
I've been waiting for a while for the perfect opportunity to rise to rework Juniperclaw's story.
I REALLY like the idea of his poisoning, his exile, and his placement in the Dark Forest... but the back half of AVoS is baddd.
Plus, it's just too bloodless. If he's going to get DARK FOREST over this, I expect a body count.
So now, his actions lead to at least 3 deaths. Leafstar is one of them, Sparkpelt was ALMOST another but Hollylark uses xeir powers to die in her place, and Flickerkit dies shortly before his birth.
ANYWAY JUNIPERCLAW
I feel like he wasn't expecting the death toll to be so devastating.
This event is being moved to Squirrelflight's Horror. Juniper's plot was that he was going to do this poisoning to blame it on The Sisters.
He just wanted SkyClan off ShadowClan land, he figured if he convinced Leafstar that the Sisters are a threat that needs to be dealt with that she'd move
He didn't think it would kill three people, just make them sick! Maybe just ONE of Leafstar's lives! And how was he supposed to know ThunderClan's leader's daughter would have a bowl?!
This plan probably works, but the guilt EATS Juniperclaw alive. He got exactly what he wanted-- a battle patrol against expectant queens.
I can't see this secret going on too long, someone rats him out and he crumbles. He can't live with it anymore.
But in Waspstar's eyes, an exile was a light punishment. Exactly what xey expected out of Heartstar, so openly biased for her family, not taking the death of SkyClan's leader as the murder that it was.
Xey dealt with this by sending a message; all "honored" guests could come and pay their respects to Leafstar.
Juniperclaw isn't invited explicitly... but the message reaches him. It is implied. So he comes, hoping to offer his sincere regrets.
I'm trying to figure out the cat equivalent of "Being taken out back and shot" is lmao
Professional mob boss kind of hit. Someone takes out the pistol with a silencer and ends his existence in the back alley as the loud party inside drowns out the sound of the shot. Do you understand me
Whoever the "hitman" was, Waspstar is the one who ordered it and xey take full responsibility.
The kill was clean. Not messy. Juniperclaw didn't suffer-- unlike his victims.
Juniperclaw goes to the Dark Forest like canon, but in BB he isn't the only border guard. He's buddies with Mudclaw and Appledusk.
The line about ruthlessness I mentioned offhandedly is this one from KA Applegate. I'm pretty sure it's from Animorphs.
"People don’t understand the word ruthless. They think that it means ‘mean.’ It’s not about being mean. It’s about seeing the bright, clear line that leads from A to B. The line that goes from motive to means. Beginning to end. It’s about seeing that bright, clear line and not caring about anything but the beautiful fact that you can see the solution."
It's become a popular paragraph as of late, because it slaps.

Tigerstar continuing to ignore Tawnypelt is an annoying little quirk of his for a number of reasons.
It was a combination of Tawnypelt and Dovewing’s judgment that allowed Shadowkit to gain sense of the visions he’d been having along with his seizures. He didn’t listen to her then.
He appointed Tawnypelt as his deputy just to …. not listen to her. Him blatantly overshadowing her got so bad that there was a point where Tawnypelt said that at least Rowanclaw had bothered to listen to her before making his decisions. She is continuously disrespected by her son.
By the time this arc begins, I’m going to assume that Oakfur has died by now. With that being said, Tawnypelt is the only cat in ShadowClan who has lived long enough to remember how Twolegs destroyed their home. She’d literally been chosen by StarClan to embark on a journey to find their new home. If Tigerstar had a shred of common sense, he would understand how crucial it is to gain that insight from his mother so he could effectively lead his Clanmates through this new Twoleg threat. I’m not sure what exactly he’s compensating for that he seems almost allergic to listening to his mother, but this flippant behavior is reminiscent of an angsty teen.
I completely agree. It’s a fascinating consistent character trait for him to have that I hope Tawnypelt reflects on a bit in this arc. Does he want to feel in charge and have a sense of overall control and so he asserts authority over his mother in this way? Since if he can control his mother he can control anyone. As a line of thinking I mean. Obviously all subconsciously and it would probably be something he would be horrified at himself with if he ever truly realised. Could this be what’s going on? He is a character that feels the need to be in charge of any situation so I think this could fit.

okay au where bristlefrost is a dovetiger kit and littermates with shadowsight, lightleap, and pouncestep:
bramblestar pulls what rowanstar did with violetshine and twigbranch and makes the couple give her to thunderclan. before shes given to thunderclan, she promises shell protect her siblings and see them again some day. shes especially adamant to shadowkit, who she was the closest with.
shes raised by daisy and squirrelflight respectively, both enraged at bramblestars actions.
ivypool, slowly but surely, grows closer to her niece. by the time bris becomes a warrior early, theyre just as close as bris is with her respective mothers.
slowly, bristlepaw bonds with her birth mother as a mom and her siblings as, well, siblings. 3 moms for bris!! shadow and bris are inseparable again pretty soon. slowly, though, bris notices somethings upsetting about shadowpaw.
after she rescues rootpaw, they begin to bond too. she eventually introduces him to shadowpaw and the three are incredibly close. theyre so proud when she tells them she’s become a warrior early, as are dovewing, tigerheartstar, and her sisters.
then bramblestar dies, and unknown to everyone, gets possessed. she defends her brother harshly against those accusing him of murder. bris can remember what bramble did, and resents him for it. but she’s too afraid to stop him, fearing he'll rip her away from all she knows again. he blackmails her for much of the arc to keep her, at least to his knowledge, underpaw.
like in canon, she joins the rebellion. specifically after watching her mom squilf get kicked out violently, and bonding with spotfur and stemleaf. she confides in her best friends about this, as well as her 3 moms. rootspring and shadowsight join her. she firmly remains on squilfs side from here on
when shadowsight goes missing, shes the first to know what mightve happened. why else would bramblestar and berrynose have come back to camp covered in blood? she runs to tell rootspring, and they go to find her brother together.
eventually ivypool confronts her niece. she can tell that bramblestar has been abusing his power over her, considering her experience with hawkfrost, and shes worried. and bris spills everything. ivypool decides to join the rebellion, becoming squilfs second in command of sorts.
mostly goes the same from here. bris is still bullied into being deputy, a rebellion member, etc. shes significantly more devastated by the death of her friend stemleaf and former mentor rosepetal, though.
shes enraged to hear what ashfur did and is still doing to her mother squirrelflight and to her brother shadowsight, even moreso than she is at what hes been doing to her
bris is just as happy as in canon to not be deputy, and is thrilled when her mom squilf and her aunt ivypool become the unofficial leader and deputy. she still goes to find the sisters with rootspring too, and still realizes she loves him. etc etc. she also still promises to her now dear friend/aunt spotfur that shell help raise her kits.
though terrified of the fact that ashfur is free, she is PISSED when they imprison shadowsight, and has to be held back by dovewing from clawing lionblaze. she advocates for his freedom immediately. the rest of her canon continues as usual because i think its great but:
ivypool talks with bris before she dreams into the df for the final time. she tells a bit of her story with hawkfrost and the dark forest, and makes her promise to make it back safe for everyones sake. but bris ends up being unable to keep that promise, as everyone knows.
everyone is devastated, even more than they were in canon (which i think is very good, but this isnt a post about how much i love tbc). dovewing and ivypool end up confiding in eachother, mourning together alongside shadowsight, rootspring, lightleap, tigerheartstar, and squilf at the moonpool. spotfur is devastated when she gets the news of her nieces death.
ivypool and dovewing go together to ask rootspring to try and see bris at the gathering, and the same scene as happens in canon occurs with dovewing giving fernsongs poignant advice. they, doves remaining kids, bris' other moms, spotfur, and tigerheartstar all remain a family. like in canon, they regard rootspring as family now too (alongside his immediate family). they continue to share bris' story for generations to come, as the light in the mist.
dovewing and ivypool finally start to heal and grow close as sisters once more. they will never be as close as they once were as kits, but its a close second.
dovewing tells her one day about bristlefrost’s promise to her siblings, and they break down crying together. bris died fulfilling her kithood promise: to protect her siblings (and by extension, her family and the clans as a whole)

Story:
When she was a kit, she dreamed of having a loving mate. Pearfeather wasn’t that though. Always ‘too busy’ to spend time with her.
So who could blame her for seeking attention from others?
Tabasco was fun for a while.
When Pearfeather died, she turned to her new mate, Zelda, for a time, but he was so boring! Always so nervous around everyone.
So she may have messed around a bit.
And Zelda may have hated her by the end of their relationship, but it was fine, because she had a new mate!
But then Chiquito got mad because she had an affair, so she may have gotten a new mate, but then he died, so back to Zelda it was.
She ended up having a whopping 31 kits, and even loved some of them.
Sure Sootseeker murdered two of his siblings, but most of them turned out ok! So what was the big deal?
It wasn’t like a lifetime of breaking hearts could have consequences…
Additional Information:
--Submission by @ambitiousauthor
--Ambitious: "I have discovered the ‘have affair’ button on Lifegen"
--Her kits are listed as victims bc their mom constantly having blatant affairs really messed them up.
--For a split second I thought that this was extreme of StarClan to condemn her for this but then I remembered all of Squirrelflight's Hope.

Read Tigerhearts Shadow, liked it ok.
I like the books where the cats interact with different settings, especially twoleg stuff, its very fun to me. I would give Dovewing all of my bbq.
I might be stupid but uhh.... I didnt fully realize it was a church that they were living in until the kits crashed a funeral. It being framed as a big place where twolegs gather and "yowl" made me think it was a stadium or symphony hall... but uhh, in hindsight its pretty obvious. I just dont think about churches very often. This particular story did feel extra... religious to me? Like more than the avarage warrior cats plot. Maybe it was just because so much of it was centered around blind faith in StarClan and dreams.
I really liked Spiresight tho. I thought he was cool and him and Blaze's relationship was really sweet. I thought the scean when Tigerstar posthumously makes him a warrior was... a little odd.... he never really expressed a desire to be one, and the element of it seeming to be The Reason he makes it to StarClan was kinda... uncomfortable?? It reminded me of that thing some churches do of posthumously baptizing dead celeberties... idk, the framing of the whole book really does make it seem like the clans are an isolated war cult. Which is fascinating. But I do feel like the books frame Tigherheart's devotion and insistance that all cats should live like the clans as correct on some level... even tho, idk the anarchist city cats that give out free healthcare and think its pointless to "own" land seem to have the right idea to me. Well, in my headcannon Fierce calms down and they all go back to chilling in the basment.
In my dreams I'd like to think that the point was supposed to be that StarClan or what ever gave Dovewing the dream so that she and Tigerheart could learn from these cats and maybe chill the fuck out. Except Tigerheart is terminally stubborn and only Dovewing absorbed anything. Otherwise its a little unclear why they got sent away to that particular place? Dovewing had personal fears that made sense but idk if she'd have left without the dream. Tigerheart was presumably supposed to go find the lost shadowclan cats and also three more guys, but it just seems like a very roundabout way to get him to do that... It was a plot very driven by prophecy but the -why- of the prophecy didnt really make sense to me... i havent read tBC but i know a bit about Shadowsight's whole deal and kinda thought as I was reading that maybe Spire would have knowlage to save Shadowkit and that was why they were going... or that he'd be an important mentor for him for a bit but uhhhn.... nah. Idk maybe it comes up more in tBC?
I do like Tigerheart as a character, I like that he's stubborn and selfish, and also always justifying his actions for the greater good. Its cool that those traits were on display. But i do think warriors has a general issue of feeling the need to flatten their pov characters, or act like they are in the right..? Its weird, its like all the traits are there, even kinda acknowleged, but just... wind up burried? I dont know if im doing a good job explaining what i mean... its all something that kinda feels like a symptom of the books being outlined by different people than the ones who write them. Tigerhearts Shadow very much felt like that kind of book to me. Maybe even further acentuated by the need to fit into another series as a side story.

Hi its me again
I wanted to ask about badger dovewings relationship with shadowclan - did they let her in bc they wanted thunderclans live tank on their side or do they just like her? i havent rlly read oots(i'm getting around to do it tho) so i dont know what would change if dove was a badger
also i think cloudtail and brightheart would be great grandparents<3
Hello again i'm-smart-i-swear
So to answer the question, I'd imagine that after DoveWing had that dream and ran off from the clans to go with The Guardians for a bit (Remember, in this au they consist of both cats and badgers), TigerHeart brings her and the other cats from the Guardians back to Shadowclan.
I'd imagine that the cats of Shadowclan were very, very hesitant at letting a badger join their clan, but some of the guardian cats vouched for DoveWing and how they shouldn't look down on her or fear her for being a badger. It would still definitely take a good minute for Shadowclan to fully accept her because the badgers they've dealt with really don't like the clans. But after a while they do begin to warm up to her a lot. Some cats think that she's useful because she could help them in fights which makes her a little iffy, but usually she'll always have another cat who bumps right in and adds that they need to stop seeing her as a weapon and start seeing her as their clan mate, same with ShadowKit and PounceKit as they're both badgers too. Also Shadowclan had to listen to TigerHeart because he was now their leader, some of them trusted that he knew what he was talking about.
This is just a general rough idea for what I have in mind, maybe I'll add more onto it later on but we'll just have to see. Also yes, CloudTail and BrightHeart would be good grandparents and great grandparents to DoveWing and ShadowSight+LightPounce respectively, they don't care that they're all badgers

Hello! This is a bit unusual, but as I am also going through pain (I am going to fight whoever came up with evolution), I decided to work on my own idea for a character! (don't worry, I haven't forgotten those in the inbox!)
SCP-055 and SCP-4205, the Self-Keeping Secret and "In the Eyes of the Beholder".
I know that many of you may not know what SCP-4205 is, and I encourage you to read the article!
"SCP-4205" by Woedenaz, from the SCP Wiki. Source: https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-4205. Licensed under CC-BY-SA.
I looked through a list of potential suffixes for SCP-055, (I already found the prefix Fog sufficient, he puts a fog over the mind and a fog over the eyes), and I was able to find one that I think fits well!
Fogsnare! "Snare" commonly has one definition, but there's another one that I think fits well with them being one of the Broken Stars! "
"a length of wire, gut, or hide stretched across a drumhead to produce a rattling sound"
Sufficiently gory, right? And for 4205, we have Shadowglow! "Shadow" in reference to the recorded footage in his article, and "glow" in reference to his eyes!
For the story, I think Fogkit and Shadowkit were born in IceClan! Fogsnare's mother kept the father a secret, and was allowed to, but passed away during the birth. Shadowkit was born to a medicine cat and a warrior. The medicine cat refused to be near him, claiming that Shadowkit was "a kit born of the darkest hell", while the warrior cared somewhat, but wasn't really around. This caused some major issues, that by the time they were rectified by the deputy literally stepping in to act as a parent, gave Shadowkit some problems in life, and what we would call RAD (reactive attachment disorder).
I would like to take this time to say that even without his RAD, Shadowglow would've ended up the way he did. His best friend and crush's dad is the WC Scarlet King, and he has killing people powers. This disorder is not related to the murders, it manifests in other ways.
It was when the pair was apprentice aged that their powers struck. It was Fogpaw first, running into the snow after being terrified by how nobody seemed to remember them, and then it was Shadowpaw's turn!
6 dead and then he went missing. Fogpaw stumbled into Shadowpaw, who was confused about why looking in his eyes didn't kill this new cat that he had never seen before.
To answer his question and probably yours as well, Fogpaw was forgotten by Whisperpaw's powers too.
Meanwhile Fogpaw: ":'("
So, after a long conversation, they found shelter in a small crevice and slept there that night.
Fogpaw dreamt themself into the Dark Forest, meeting his father for the first time, and their siblings! His dear old dad (derogatory) offered them a deal, since Fogpaw didn't really want to cause the destruction of the clans.
If Fogpaw sided with him, he would assist Fogpaw in unlocking his full potential AND give Shadowpaw the same ability all cats of his blood have. Immunities to each others powers. (For example, if Wrathscale accidentally goes to a certain someone's section of the Dark Forest, his skin won't melt off and all he'll do is complain.)
Fogpaw took the deal, and their dad gathered their 5 siblings in the Dark Forest and gave him a name. Fogsnare.
While Shadowpaw woke up and went "my great great great uncle (Twistedmask is making himself the god of evil gay relationships istg) visited my dreams! he's really funny! hey, i remember you now!" And Fogsnare went "my dad is evil and i have a new name and im gonna have to destroy the world"
And then Shadowpaw went "new name? awesome! can i have a new name?"
And that's how Fogsnare and Shadowglow became a murder duo! Fogsnare's dad pops into their dreams from time to time, going "hey can you do this for me. not asking."
They live in the more treacherous and obscure parts of IceClan territory, staying away from any contact with the clans other than when they get voluntold to do something. Shadowglow goes along because Fogsnare is his closest and only friend and crush, and he doesn't exactly mind the death, due to MANY, many things, including Twistedmask.
To wrap it up, here are the designs!
Fogsnare.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And Shadowglow! The patterning and scars are almost all from the Rooted Clans greatest dad......
That's all-....
....
What was I talking about again?

Dovewing and Tigerheart: "We named this one Lightkit and this one Shadowkit because of our differences!"
Tigerheart four seasons later: "Lightpaw, from now on your name will be lightleap, which makes it about the antonym of heavy instead of the antonym of dark and destroys all the symbolism of your name. Poucepaw, I'm gonna doubledown on the pouncing bit. You're Pouncestep now. If you ever stop moving we bury you whether you're dead or not."
Shadowpaw: "Puddleshine?"
Puddleshine: "Yeah don't worry I'm the one who will be chosing your adult name, not your leader."
Shadowpaw: *sighs in relief*
dovewing and tigerheart: we named these two to celebrate our differences and the other one just cause pouncekit sounds cute

AVOS Lightning Round!
Alright it's a rainy night, I'm tired and don't have the energy for much else, and I wanna get these shitty books out of my way. Time for the AVOS lightning round!
I'm sticking true to that poll and just gonna read the wiki summaries for each post. I'll comment about what I see on there if I find anything to say. I have a pdf of the actual books off to the side, ready to abuse CTRL + F all I need. I will only use this for the Sleekwhisker bits, the Dovewing and Shadowkit content, and Juniperclaw. If I find something interesting on the wiki summaries, I'll check it on the actual books.
Let's get this over with already!!

Some WC skits
Dovewing's Phone : *ringing*
Ivypool : *looks over* Aren't you a little old to be calling Birchfall "Daddy"?
Dovewing : *answering the phone with a nonchalant expression* Hey, Tigerheart.
Ivypool : *chokes on her food*
---------------
Tigerstar 2 : I told the kits they weren't allowed to play in the snow because the might get sick.
Dovewing : And?
Tigerstar 2 : and they told me if I didn't, then I wasn't their best friend anymore.
Dovewing : What did you do?
Tigerstar 2 : Well they've been playing in the snow for the past six hours and I'm the Greatest person in existence in their eyes.
Dovewing : *sighs* Of course.
-------------
Birchfall : So, you're the Tom who wants to be with my daughter?
Tigerstar 2 : Y-yes.
Birchfall : *Eyes him up*I don't care if you're a clan leader, I'll determine what is good for my daughter.
Tigerstar 2 : Y-yes, sir.
Dovewing : Father!
Birchfall : I only want what is best for you.
Whitewing : Honey, he's the father of our grandkits and he kept Dovewing safe on their journey back. I think he's perfect for her.
Ivypool : But he joined the Dark Forest!
Tigerstar 2 : So did you!
Birchfall : Enough! We'll have dinner and afterwards, I'll determine if he's good enough.
Dovewing : *whispering to Tiger* Use the secret weapon
Tigerstar 2 : Uh, ok... Birchfall, if you approve of me and your daughter's relationship, you'll have special visitation rights in Shadowclan to see your grandkits, along with Whitewing.
Birchfall : *thinks about it before looking at Whitewing* Honey, he's the one.
Ivypool : WHAT?!
Tigerstar 2 : *looking at Dovewing* Wow, I can't believe that worked. How did you know it would?
Dovewing : Grandparents can't resist the chance to visit thier grandkits whenever they please.
--------
Tigerstar 2 after a particularly stressful day of leading ShC : *Yawns* So tired! *Falls down and buries himself into Dovewing* Hmmm, warmth. So warm and soft.
Dovewing : Stressful day?
Tigerstar 2 : Oh you don't know the half of it, Dove! First, there was-*cut off by Dovewing kissing him* What was that for?
Dovewing, teasing : You don't like my kisses now?
Tigerstar 2 : Starclan no! They're the best part of my day sometimes. But why?
Dovewing : *shrugs* I don't want to hear about your day. *Licks him on the head* Now sleep, Tigey.
Tigerstar 2 : But the clan-
Dovewing : Will be perfectly fine under Cloverfoot and Tawnypelt's watch. You deserve a full day's rest.
Tigerstar 2 : Well...if you say so. *Closes his eyes and quickly falls asleep, snoring and softly muttering about his love for his family as he does so*
Dovewing : Oh, Tiger, you idiotic fluff ball. I love you so much.
-------------
Shadowkit : Dad, can I have candy?
Tigerstar 2 : No.
Shadowkit : B-b-but-
Tigerstar 2 : You already ate a payday an hour ago. You're good.
Shadowkit, tearing up : B-b-b-but...*starts to cry* WAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!
Tigerstar 2, being unsure of how to handle the situation : Aw geez! Please, Shadowkit, don't cry! Please calm down! *Looks around* Do you want that teddy bear? You said your old one was falling apart. *Shadow continues to cry* Yeah, I don't like that idea either. *Looks around again* What about-*roar of a lion is heard close by* Oh no! Please, Shadowkit! Stop crying! Please, before your mother-
Dovewing, hella angry at Tigerstar 2 due to Shadowkit crying : WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO MY BABY?!
--------------
Tigerstar 2 : Well, let the meeting begin.
Fakebramble : You're ugly and Shadowclan deserves better leadership.
Tigerstar 2 : I...no, I can't say that.
Fakebramble : What?
Tigerstar 2 : I can't call you trash.
Fakebramble : Why?
Tigerstar 2 : Because Tawnypelt told it's never a good idea to roast trash. But she never said anything about roasting you!
Tawnypelt : True!
----------
Bramblestar : Hey, Alderheart.
Alderheart : Hey.
Bramblestar : Do you think I'm a good leader?
Alderheart : maybe.
Bramblestar, attempting to gloat : Who's the best leader of the clans?
Alderheart : Tigerstar seems to be doing an alright job.
Bramblestar : *shatters as his son disses him*
Tigerstar 2, across the lake : IN YOUR FACE!

"I felt it. Tonight I realized—I haven't seen any StarClan cats in my visions. I haven't been to their hunting grounds. I just hear a voice. And see shadows. I can't really explain, but I felt a presence while I was at the Moonpool. It was watching me. It made my fur crawl. I don't know what it was, but it felt too...Too evil to be StarClan. And I've let it guide me. It's been guiding me all along."
                                                          ~~~
i’ve decided to FINALLY get back to working on my warriors designs in my spare time, and i just finished the silent thaw, so i decided to draw my favorite of the three protagonists in this arc!
It was large and strangely coloured, and were four of them as far as he could tell. But he was captivated by one with a black patch of fur on its eye. He later asked Scone, who explained to him that they were "pigs," and would basically eat anything they could.
He was fascinated by them. and started bringing plants and fresh-kill to them.
In a gathering in leaf-bare, he heard from Shinestar that a warrior called Ashpelt had caught one of the pigs. He was furious.
Goldfur mocked him, saying things like “no wonder you love those pigs so much! You are just like them--you roll around in mud and you eat anything!"
Froglight was angry, and he tried to walk away, but Goldfur just. wouldn't. stop!
Froglight was scared and dirty. Goldfur was finally dead, and he dragged his body to the place where the pigs lived without a second thought. He really hoped this would work. He was bruised and his tail was muddy, but he put the body down. And the pigs started eating him.
By Starclan, it really worked!
He splashed into the cold river for a bit and came home sniffling and tired.
At one point, he dragged Ashpelt to the pigs only to notice that Spotty was pregnant and that she and the other one where feasting on the third pig after he had been crushed by a branch. Froglight was kind of worried this meant that they wouldn't eat Ashpelt. But they did.
A couple moons later, he had some kits with Scone. A black-and-brown one called Blackberry, a brown one called Muffin, and a black one he took to Shadowclan and called Shadowkit.
His life was good, and he fed four more cats to the pigs, not noticing they weren't really pigs anymore. They were large and brown and even hungrier than ever before.
One day after he visited Blackberry, Muffin, and Scone, he was walking back to Shadowclan.
The second one pounced on him and kicked so much he almost passed out. As he was bleeding, he saw Spotty, dear Spotty, biting into his wounded chest. He started to cry and whimper, and Spotty stopped and..was he crying, too? As he finally died, all he felt apart from the pain, was spotty licking his forehead.
GraveClan Cats: Marshmallowkit
Tumblr media
Marshmallowkit is a big chubby white tomkit with blue eyes. He is based on Prompt #27, Marshmallow, and also a bit on the Stay Pufft Marshmallow Man from Ghostbusters. Slow and a little dopey, Marshmallowkit loves two things in life: eating and sleeping. He likes to use his bigger size to push his siblings around a little to get what he wants. He and Shadowkit fight a lot due to Shadowkit’s constant bullying of Marshmallowkit and his siblings.
His mother is Cakepopswirl and his littermates are Orangekit, Cocoakit, and Caramelkit
When he becomes a warrior, his name will be Marshmallowfur.
shadowsight rewrite stuff
-shadowkit is born an only child, no hate to lightleap and pouncestep but if his siblings aren't gonna be relevant then he doesn't need to have them and i almost feel him being an only child would make more sense anyway
-shadowkit is often in the medicine den due to seizures, which is what piques his interest to become a medicine cat
-shadowkit's visions are in the form of not only seeing the future, but also seeing future or past events through the eyes of another. his visions of drowning are actually foretelling juniperclaw's death
-as a child, shadowkit has an optimistic desire to be helpful and good while also being a neurotic little sprite, often conveying his prophecies is strange and vague ways. although he outgrows his childhood sense of wonder and gains more self awareness, even as an adult, shadowpaw never quite fit in. he's a large cat even for his age for one, he seems off in his own little world most of he time, and he always has a wide eyed stare, as if he's looking at something no one else can see. his pelt is so dark he sometimes fades into the background and cats don't realize he's there until they see his dark-amber-almost-red eyes pierce the blackness
-furthermore, as a result his incident run in with the river he is wary towards bodies of water. shadowpaw did not enjoy being so close to the moonpool when puddleshine first took him there, and ran away in fright, which gave the medicine cats a bad impression of him off the bat because they thought that something about starclan's presence itself was what frightened him, like when tigerclaw ran from the moonstone in the first arc, as if he had something to hide. he's gotten better at being around it with more exposure to it, but he still prefers to keep his distance. he doesn't know why. to him, the moonpool feels like a hungry mouth ready to swallow him whole. when he looks into the moonpool he feels like something stares back at him- and it isn't starclan
-shadowclan views shadowpaw's eccentricities ostensibly affectionately, in a "ha ha shadowpaw you're such a weird guy" kind of way, although their unnease towards him is nonetheless palpable. but his strongest non-familial bond is, surprisingly, with blazefire, the local hard-headed, overconfident jock who hails from the city guardians. the two grew up together and bonded through their shared relationship with spiresight, and shadowpaw feels like blazefire is one of the few cats he can speak to without feeling like a weirdo. he's the only cat in the clan shadowpaw talks to as much as he talks to his parents and his mentor
-when it comes to the other clans, most of the time they could care less, but shadowkit's advent with the river, almost drowning himself and killing a warrior in the process apparently on starclan's command, didn't go unnoticed and has made everyone see him as a strange fellow. this, combined with his strangeness, his quietness, his stature etc. has made some of them wonder what else he's possibly capable of. if he's hiding something.
-internally, shadowsight is very sweet and well meaning who wants to continue to do good in spite of himself, even though he is a bit spacey and often lost in thought, as well as having some tics he's less good at being aware of such as his tendency to stare. he was never good at making friends because he found it hard to fit in with the warriors' way of life, but he still dearly desires friendship and this draw pulls him into the eye of the public, where he Cannot Stop Acting Strange. he is well aware of how people think of him, the things cats say when they think he isn't listening or is too caught up in a daydream to hear, but he doesn't know how to fix how other cats see him, or if he even can.
-the events that take place after the moonpool freezes over do not help any of the aforementioned problems.
-the reason the imposter goes after shadowsight specifically to relay the codebreakers prophecy is more selective; he tells shadowsight, the son of a thunderclan warrior and a shadowclan warrior, that he is born of an evil act and he carries his parents' transgressions in his blood. The only way he can redeem himself is by persecuting the cats that committed the same crime that brought him into the world.
-toying with the idea that since ashfur already has hold over starclan at this point he might send spiresight to send this message instead of doing it himself, knowing spiresight is someone shadowpaw would trust.
-shadowpaw doesn't know what he should do. "starclan wills it," spiresight tells him. "what happens if starclan is wrong?" shadowpaw asks. "starclan is never wrong," spiresight reminds him.
-shadowpaw anxiously mulls over the information he's been given. restful sleep is near impossible to achieve. in his dreams he's standing on a ledge surrounded by fire. it's hard to see but he knows there's a molly in front of him. his lips curl into a snarl as he percieves her foggy shape. he hates her. he wants to hurt her so bad. even as the smoke chokes his lungs and burns his eyes all he can think about is how much he wants her to hurt, how badly he wants to be the one to instill all that pain and sorrow in her. god he can’t wait to see the look on her face as it contorts into a scream of fear and horror at what he's about to do-
-shadowsight never slept peacefully again after that.
