StS x Pokemon AU brainstorming stuff
Now I'll have to publicly share some flow of thoughts rambles, I've been accumulating for an year now.
Bless @ectogusher for listening to my rambles, and @doodlingwren for busting my door open to finally share what I got.
Excuse me as I talk in my notes as if these things were like a guide/romhack shit
All under read more bc it gets long c:
Here's the main skeleton of this whole deal-
Sanctuary = Its own region. No new fakemons, but it's a sizeable piece of land that has gathered up a wide variety of various species found across the globe. This worldwide thing also influences the type of trainers and people from all over the world going there. If we were to touch on the subject of game mechanics: There would be most of them (Mega evolutions, terastalise, Dynamax even Paradox pokemon forms) further showing how mysterious and mythical this region is.
PC - Seiya / Shoko Rivals - Seiya -> The other bronze boys / Shoko ->The other saintias
With Ikki being the Silver-esque type of rival, meanwhile Shiryu/Hyoga/Shun all follow the same line of friendly rival archetype. I still haven't thought that far on the Shoko route.
Other prominent NPCs:
Professor Shion: Former gym leader, he was once offered the champion title but refused it. Claiming that his passion was in research and studies, rather than the battlefield. Due to stepping down from battles, his friendship/relationship with Dohko has strained over time. Shion is the one who brought Mu to Sanctuary down the line.
Schoolkid Kiki: Catching Tutorial NPC. He can be usually found at the Pokemon School in Mu's city. He will inherit Mu's mantle down the line. The pokemon he uses in the tutorial is a Noibat;
League Chairwoman Saori Kido - With Julien Solo and Hades coming in as other seemingly "investors" on the project
Gym leaders: Most of these guys' aces aren't fully evolved, bc they chose to keep them like that. Yadda yadda friendship boosting their favorites.
Mu: Sinnoh - Dragon - Dragonair
Aldebaran: Hoenn - Ground - Rhydon
Saga/Kanon: Alola - Water - Gyarados (Saga)/Kingdra (Kanon)
Deathmask: Kalos - Dark - Murkrow
Aiolia: Sanctuary (native) - Electric - Electabuzz
Shaka: Kanto - Psychic - Alakazam
Dohko: Johto - Fighting - Mienshao
Milo: Unova - Bug - Volcarona
Elite fours:
Aiolos: Sanctuary - Fire - Charizard
Shura: Galar - Steel - Metagross
Camus: Sinnoh - Ice - ? (Either Froslass or Glaceon)
Aphrodite: Paldea - Poison - Roserade
Champion - ??? (the plot twist is that: the PC wouldn't fight the 3rd gym leader, bc Saga was pretending to be the champion. When he really wasn't chosen or appointed to that position)
Evil organisations: They definetely do exist, and they are obviously tied to the aforementioned Julien and Hades figures. But I still haven't thought that far.
Worldbuilding notes:
Muvians are similar to draconids (introduced in ORAS), a small tribe that originates from Sinnoh and has some deep connections and bonds to dragon types. Which means, any muvian = dragon type specialist or in the very least owns one. Muvians are also meant to have a foot in aura sensitivity (see characters like Lucario, Riley, etc.);
Sanctuary's League has a rampant corruption problem, as seen by what I mentioned about Saga. The two evil organisations are basically being pitched against one another, as smokescreen for the real problem. Their current champ is this sort of "elusive" figure. There hasn't been a proper champion in a long time. And yet, according to paperwork and the system, it states that the role is currently filled by someone. Anyone that isn't tied to Saga's schemes is left in the shadows, even those that allegedly should be the closest to him (Aiolos for SURE has no clue of what's going on. He's probably hiding or declared missing in action during the events, and only shows up when the time comes to challenge the E4).
There's a small timeline:
ND folks (a good few years into the past) -> Classic folks -> Omega folks (+20 years into the future)
In ND's setting we see how odd and hapharzadly the League was instated in the region. Which sets up the perfect grounds for Saga to exploit down the line;
Shion and Dohko are recently turned gym leader here. Mu comes onto the picture a good few years after ND's events; In a way, since Tenma would be the PC here and Alone his rival. It could be the Red vs Blue type of ordeal.
In Omega we'd see how the League is trying to remedy its reputation & amend for Saga's schemes, with an entirely new set of gym leaders and League members. + Former league members can still be found and fought in the post game, Silver/Gold style.
Individual notes:
Mu - Obligatory pokemon Aldemu food
Mu used to own a Gible and Alde once owned a Trapinch, at some point they traded pokemon. So now, Alde has a Garchomp in his personal team and Mu has a Flygon;
Mu's battle team against young trainers has a Swablu, which is used as a messenger to carry mail exchanges between him and Alde;
Mu LOVES pokemon dolls and has a huge collection of it. In the post-game: PC can find Mu and Alde on a date at the region's big mall, with them looking at a shop's display window. Mu gets mad at PC for ruining his date, but would give out his pokegear number;
Aldebaran -
Aldebaran gym's city is also where the pokemon day-care can be found. He may not run it, but he often helps out the elderly couple currently in charge of it;
In the post-game: After adding Mu's re-match call number. Alde can ba found on the route between his and Mu's towns, he was on his way to take a meal for him, and he also shares with PC that they bought the doll in the end
Saga/Kanon -
PC doesn't really get to fight for the 3rd gym badge. Rather, it's simply handed out by Kanon, who approaches them to talk about how the leader hasn't been seen in so long;
Saga's "fall from grace" comes from a humiliating match against Aiolos, originally fighting for the E4 member promotion which he lost. Despite the clear type advantage;
It's left implied that these two were meant to be gym leaders, the matches would have been double battles.
Deathmask -
DM gym's city houses a Game corner (Casino) and a contest hall. First sighting of an E4 member is Aphrodite, who introduces PC to them;
DM is a sore loser AND has no qualms with cheating against his challengers, if it means he gets to maintain his "streak". In the battle against PC he would use an overleveled Crawdaunt;
In the post-game: PC will get a hint from Shaka's radio talkshow mentioning DM's whereabouts, in the city's underground game corner;
DM's strength is everything philosophy = DM's entire personal team consists of very strong dark types with some form of 4x weakness;
DM is well in kahoots with Saga's schemes;
Aiolia - TBA I haven't thought anything for him c':
Shaka -
Shaka gym's city is meant to be the largest and the most advanced one (Saffron and Goldenrod cities style), it has the region's largest shop for expensive and important items. It also has a radio tower, which broadcasts various programs (professor talk, loterry ticket, poke flute, etc), Shaka hosts a talk show where he commentates on PC's progress, all while actively putting down/poking fun at his defeated colleagues. Under specific time slots, he will have a guest join him, which will be an exchange between the various league's members. But the most important one is where he will be joined by the region's "champion";
Shaka is a fan-favorite across several trainers in the region, with many NPCs commentating how much they love tuning in to hear him talk & so on;
Shaka is also well known for his psychci prowess (Sabrina style);
Shaka is also deeply involved in Saga's schemes;
Dohko -
Dohko gym's city also houses the pokéathlon. With Dohko going undefeated in all the challenges, until PC comes along;
Post-game: to get Dohko's number for rematches. PC has to visit Shion after obtaining a certain number of species then, take a mail key item to Dohko. And THEN they get Dohko's number. it's a love letter, an invitation for some tea at noon
Milo - TBA I haven't thought anything for him c':
And "unfortunately", that's all I got x)
I suppose this is a lot better than trying to find all my notes scattered around all over the place. Hope it makes sense or that in the very least, it's fun to read through.
RN I focused on the classic folks bc it's the one I've been working and thinking of for the longest time.

Tengwar <3
It's the best thing Feanor made. Seriously. Nobody will murder you for using Tengwar. Nobody will hack your brain when you use Tengwar in the wrong moment. (The lamps are ok, but kinda meh, Tengwar is better)
Did you know, just did you know, that every consonant has a name, and the name is a noun, and some are really cool (and foreshadowing)? (chart and translations below the cut)
So, if you want a chart, here is a chart. And the names are (I don't have diacritics, so I just double the long vowels) (Quenya mode, with some historical notes from LotR appendix and elvish.org):
"Normal stuff Feanor had on his desk" row:
T tinco - metal
P parma - book
K calma - lamp (like those Feanor made? Or... like those Aule made)
Q quesse - feather (birds are important!)
"Things that keep you trapped" row:
ND ando - gate (like... the Door of Night?)
MB umbar - doom (doesn't need a comment...)
NG anga - iron (also, used in sword names, even for non-iron swords)
NGW (in TA changed to NW) ungwe - spider's web (foreshadowingsight on Feanor's part? :) )
"Mountain things???" row
S suule - spirit or breath (Manwe Sulimo... king of winds and stuff...) | TH thuule - spirit or breath, but I'm a Feanorian, or at least I'm a linguistics geek and love the phonetic scheme (me! but otoh it sounds dumb :( ), or I love the Teleri and/or Sindar, who use it as th (Finarfin, iirc).
F formen - north
H (h before t) harma (voiceless velar fricative phonetically /x/... I think. the sources are confusing. In TA mostly softened into a breath h.) - treasure (my precious Silmarills...) | aha (later renamed, idk when) - rage (my Silmarils! and, even more importantly, my father!)
HW (like "wh" in "why" especially the fancy British way of saying it where it's actyally h-w, not w-h) hwesta - breeze
"We need to name a row after places of articulation" row
NT anto - mouth (couldn't you think of a better name? I get it's a place-of-articulation row, but i don't like it anyway)
MP ampa - hook
NC anca - jaw
NQ unque - hole
"Things that Melkor likes" row:
N nuumen - west (Numenor...)
M malta - gold
NG (by TA: N) noldo - Noldo, as in type of Elf. Yes, it was initially Ngoldo. I mean, initially initially it was a gnome, so...
NW nwalme - tornment
"I have no idea but vaguely positive-metaphysical?..." row
R (pre-consonant or end-of-the-word R | non-vibrating r, whatever this means. My bet is that it's "r" as in Japanese --- position like "r", movement like "d") oore - heart (or: rising. Guess whose name includes this component. funny that it's the same word as heart, especially given that heart is also defined as conscience here)
V vala - power (duh.)
Y (? it has some history) [there was a consonant here]anna - gift (totally not made into a sus word by now...)
W/V (Initially W, by TA changed to V) wilya - air / lower sky (funny how those two names are next to one another. )
"Really, I think Feanor ran out of ideas for coherent name sets" row
R (vibrating, typpical "rrr") romen - east (the same sound being written with "East" and with a word alternatively translating to "heart" or part of Melkor's name --- I love it! Why? See my recent post. I love that. Call it a coincidence, but I love it)
RD arda - realm
L lambe - speech
LD alda - tree (!)
Now we are not in regular rows, so, the extra letters:
S silme - starlight (or... metaphysically important light in general? because guess what word is connected to this one. Also, funny how it's just after "tree"). It's always S, never TH.
(nuquerma is just "flipped" or something I guess)
Z aaze - day / sunlight (in Noldorin changed to Z - aare) | SS esse (Numenor and later, because they did not use the "z" sound, I think) - name
HY (Numenor and later: H) hywarmen - south
I yanta - bridge
U uure - heat
(doesn't have a sound, in Sindarin it's A) osse - terror (I guess he isn't a very nice Maia?)
H (voiceless h: /h/ not /x/; in TA replaced by harmen) halla - tall | gasdil - stop
(short wovel carrier) telco - stem
(long carrier) aara - dawn
The Tengwa names after directions are also used as marks in the compass (like we use NSWE) And snarky comments aside, I love the schema and how the names connect into many interesting and often Silm-events-related patterns. I love how each (almost) row is named after a set of similar things.
I'm not an expert, and if I made some mistakes, I'll be grateful for corrections.

What happened to Matt Eberflus being in the hunt for a DC??
Who do you think is better out the two it seems we're getting?
Patrick Graham or Al Golden? (Unless they surprise us)
Hi Wicked <3 <3
So okay, DC updates were abundant this week!
Eberflus seems to be out of the running. Honestly the tweet that first mentioned him was so oddly worded anyway, I believe it said something like "Matt Eberflus is involved in the Bengals' DC search" and they never specified that he'd be a candidate at all. Of course, everyone jumped to conclusions that he was, but it's looking more and more like he was never even going to be interviewed 🤔 Maybe he was involved as like, a consultant? I think Zac and him have a good relationship from planning that joint practice together last summer.... it also could have been that Eberflus' agent wanted to show that there was interest in him, for leverage with other opportunities potentially? All of those big Insiders are really just mouthpieces for agents at the end of the day 🥲
And yes! Looks like it's narrowed down to between Patrick Graham and Al Golden! Love that we're quickly making progress here!
From what it sounds like, Golden is the front runner, but they're waiting for the national championship to be finished before they finalize everything. (I'm technically a Buckeyes fan just via family but now I do want to see Notre Dame put up a fight defensively for the sake of my Bengals fandom 👀). Honestly though from what I'm seeing, both candidates would be solid choices for us!
Graham was the former Raiders DC, and despite them being a pretty awful team last year, their defense over-performed based on the talent available (Maxx and I think a few other of their better starters got hurt during the year). He's been known to be creative with schemes, and has spent a lot of time with the Patriots under Belichick (which can only help his defensive background!) He's also apparently well respected throughout the league and players love playing for him.
Golden is the current Notre Dame DC and he also was the linebackers coach for the Bengals during their super bowl run in '21. (He did a lot to bring the best out of Logan and Pratt that year apparently!) I don't follow college football at all really, but ND has one of the best defenses at that level and honestly not a lot of Star Freak Players (again I think some of their best talent got injured earlier this year and still they've been playing lights out on defense!)
I think the best thing about both of these candidates is that they've shown they're able to connect with young players and develop them. And the players don't necessarily have to be Stars; they can build the scheme around them to enable them to be at their best. And as great as Lou was at a lot of things, that was a clear weakness of his. We've got ALLLLL this top round defensive talent! Rounds 1-3 in '22, rounds 1-3 in '23, rounds 2-3 in '24! And so little to show for it! I think if you hire either Graham or Golden, you're going to be getting more out of the young guys no matter what and I'm excited about that!
Some more info to read up on them if you're curious!
#so yeah to answer your question i'm good with both!#the one critique i'm hearing is that the bengals should have cast a wider net#like it sounds like it was always going to be golden from the start and they only bothered interviewing two other guys#which! is fair! you'd like them to look at this from every possible angle#but frankly we've got so much going on this offseason that we've gotta hurry up lol. no time to look under every stone!#if they think they've got the guy then go for it i say#also lmao golden apparently never even sold his house in cincy#so maybe this has been the plan for awhile? 🤔#(would explain daijahn saying he knew who the new DC was a week ago lol)#but yeah! both good. both likely a clear upgrade in terms of developing players. which is exactly what we need :)

ND events brainstorming
Obligatory @doodlingwren
Unlike the Classic's events, I didn't get to think a whole lot about ND as I'm writing this. So far, I only have a very rough idea of what it should be, and how it contributes to reaching where we are in the Classic's setting.
Aesthetic/Sprite-wise. I'd be following G/R/B/Y's look and rudimentary af sprites for ND. This is mostly a mental note for me, when I get around to working on them.
ND should take place at least 30-50 years before, the Classic's setting. There's a HUGE window of time between the settings which most certainly could explain:
People seemingly forgetting about Hades squad's antics in ND. Only older people genuinely seem to have a vivid memory of what happened, and the sense of "they must have been disbanded a long time ago, right?". This also means that Hades is indeed VERY old, but somehow maintains a mostly youthful look (dhermatologists hate this guy);
This also explains why in the classic's setting there is barely any acknowledgement to the previous GLs and E4 members, or even why PC never runs into them (they have either retired/moved out of Sanctuary);
The underground tunnels aren't that big, and they still retain its natural formations. They may connect a city to another dungeon/route but, nowhere NEAR the level that we observe in Classic's setting. It sure explains why it took Hades THIS long to conclude the tunnels and properly execute his plan;
It would also explain why the likes of Dohko could have obtained, seemingly ancient time's species (they used to be a lot more common way back then).
ND's setting is all about the introduction of the Pokemon League in Sanctuary's grounds. PC will be seeing how there's a lot of work that has yet to be done (some GLs have recently been assigned to their positions), and how it is still in its infancy. As well as how it became, the perfect breeding ground for the antics of an organisation like Hades'.
For Worldbuilding flavor, this also implies that a good chunk of cities we see in Classic either don't exist in ND. OR they are MUCH smaller and barren in comparison.
PC talk & notable NPCs
While in Classic's setting we had PC with a bunch of R2F characters (as well as its Shoko's route alternative). In ND, it's a lot more straightforward. With the only PC being Tenma, and his only friend rival that turns antagonistic in Alone. Tenma's story is there to illustrate how in a way, he became the poster boy to promote and boost the League's image to the public (in order to help it establish itself in Sanctuary).
I have talked in another post- and I'm bringing it here. Meanwhile, Alone's entire character is corrupted by taking on Hades' sponsorship deal. Thus, becoming another pawn in Hades' schemes;
Sasha wouldn't be a playable character. She is meant to be the Chairwoman, in charge of organising and running the League. But PC and her would often run into one another, throughout the journey.
Talking about Suikyo, he is still kinda of an enigma to me. I still haven't come up with something for him but, he could be a notable character from Hades' squad. He'd still have his connections to Shion and Dohko so, his role could be to further illustrate Hades' coersion abilities, and how trainers would willingly join his organisation.
Odysseus takes on many roles at the same time, given the early stages the League finds itself. He isn't a professor per se, BUT PC would for sure get their starter pokemon from him. Odysseus also fills the role of a placeholder champion, until he is officially beaten by Alone, crowning him as the champion (that will be shortly after be defeated by PC). Odysseus is also the NPC that will take PC to be registered on the Hall of Fame.
Now the fun stuff in League members talk
The order wouldn't be the same one, we see in Classic's setting. I'm sacrificing the zodiacal order, if it means we get to highlight the most notable ND golds <3.
Gym leaders:
Gestalt: Galar - Flying - Skarmory
Cardinale: Kalos - Grass - Tsareena
Ox: Kanto - Normal - Taurus
Shion: Sinnoh - Dragon - Salamence
Mystoria: Hoenn - Water - Walrein
Dohko: Johto - Fighting - Mienshao
Izo: Sinnoh - Rock - Kleavor
Abel & Kain: Unova - Psychic - Gothitelle / Espathra
E4 members:
Écarlate: Paldea - Poison - Sneasler
Kaiser: Kanto - Fire - Pyroar
Deathtoll: Alola - Ghost - Cofagrigus
Shijima: Johto - Fairy - Flutter Mane
PC wouldn't really get to fight Odysseus so, his ace pokemon is kinda of up in the air to what it would be. I also feel like that he wouldn't have a type specialty. BUT it would probably either be Hisuian Braviary, OR Ursaluna.
And that's what I got so far!

Peruse and Profit : Holcombe Hill and District : guide book : Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway : Manchester : nd [c.1920] by mikeyashworth Via Flickr: The Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway were early proponents of railway electrification; eventually lines on Merseyside serving Liverpool as well as the Manchester - Bury line were to be electrified on third-rail (the Liverpool section having used a fourth rail similar to London Underground in early years). The short branch north from Bury Bolton St station to Holcombe Brook seemed an unlikley candidate but in 1912 the Preston engineering concern of Dick, Kerr & Co. were keen to trial an overhead electrification system in connection with a possible scheme in Brazil and the LYR accepted the company's offer to electrify the branch at Dick, Kerr's expense. The system came into use in 1913 and in 1916 the LYR purchased the equipment but the following year began to convert the branch to the third rail system used at Bury on the Manchester line. The electric services ran until 1951 when it was de-electrified and replaced by steam before passenger services were completely withdrawn by British Railways in 1952. This little guide book attempts to sell the branch, its services and locations for both residential and leisure use. Undated it mentions electrification and has a list of other L&YR books that include the company's guide to WW1 battlefields and so c.1920 seems a plausible date as the company was merged into the London and North Western Railway in 1922, a year before Grouping in 1923 when 'both' companies became part of the new London Midland & Scottish Railway. The "Peruse and Profit" title was common to several L&YR publications of the era and was used on other area guides.

Sustainability in Rice Production: How Indian Exporters are Leading the Way
Sustainability has become a pivotal topic in agriculture, especially in rice production, which is integral to India’s economy. As a leading rice exporter from India, the nation is making significant strides in adopting sustainable practices that benefit the environment, farmers, and consumers alike.
Current State of Rice Production in India
India stands as one of the largest rice producers in the world, contributing significantly to global rice exports. With diverse climatic conditions and fertile lands, the country boasts several key rice-growing regions. Rice wholesalers in India play a crucial role in this ecosystem, connecting farmers to markets a nd ensuring that quality rice reaches consumers both domestically and internationally.
Challenges in Rice Production
Despite its prominence, rice production in India faces numerous challenges. Environmental issues like water scarcity and soil degradation are exacerbated by climate change. Economically, rice producers encounter fluctuating market prices and fierce competition on the global stage. These challenges necessitate a shift towards sustainable practices.
Sustainable Practices in Rice Farming
To counter these challenges, Indian rice farmers are increasingly adopting sustainable practices. Techniques such as using organic fertilizers and pesticides, implementing crop rotation, and enhancing water management are becoming commonplace. The rice traders from India are also crucial in promoting these practices, encouraging farmers to utilize methods like the System of Rice Intensification (SRI) and alternate wetting and drying (AWD).
Technological Innovations in Sustainable Rice Production
Technology plays a significant role in sustainable rice farming. Innovations like precision agriculture tools—including drones and sensors—are helping farmers optimize yields while minimizing resource usage. Furthermore, the development of drought-resistant rice varieties is vital for adapting to changing climate conditions. Mobile applications are also empowering farmers with knowledge about sustainable farming practices.
The Role of Indian Rice Exporters in Sustainability
Leading rice exporters from India, like Eurosun India, are at the forefront of this sustainable shift. By partnering with NGOs and government initiatives, these exporters are implementing eco-friendly practices in their operations. Case studies reveal how successful exporters are prioritizing sustainability, thus enhancing their marketability.
Government Policies and Support
The Indian government is actively promoting sustainable agriculture through various policies and support schemes. These initiatives provide subsidies and resources to farmers who adopt eco-friendly practices, making it easier for rice wholesalers in India to source sustainably produced rice.
Future Trends in Sustainable Rice Production
As global consumers increasingly prefer sustainably produced products, Indian rice exporters are well-positioned to meet this demand. The trend toward organic rice is growing, and rice traders from India are expected to lead the charge in promoting these products in international markets. With ongoing innovations and a focus on sustainability, India can set a benchmark for rice production worldwide.
Conclusion
Sustainability in rice production is not just a trend; it is essential for the future of agriculture in India. With the commitment of rice exporters from India, support from rice wholesalers in India, and the innovation of rice traders from India, the nation is poised to make significant contributions to global sustainability efforts. Through continued collaboration and investment in sustainable practices, India can ensure a prosperous future for its rice industry and the environment alike.

Four NDIS Disability Lismore Providers
The NDIS is a powerful tool to help participants achieve their goals. It allows them to self-manage their own supports, choosing providers that have the right qualifications, insurance, and safety checks.
However, social inequities remain a barrier to disability access. The NDIA needs to improve its partnership with people with lived experience and increase the alignment of its practices and processes. To know more about Disability Lismore, visit the Dabba Mallangyirren website or call 0403856995.
The National Disability Insurance Scheme is a new way of supporting people with disability. It offers more choice and control over your supports, and helps you achieve your goals. In some areas, it has already replaced the old Community Integration Initiative (CII) model. It also allows you to self-manage your NDIS funds and choose providers that meet your individual needs.
Dabba Mallangyirren is an NDIS registered provider of disability services. Their team of highly experienced disability support workers can help you manage your day-to-day activities. They are dedicated to genuine connections and safety, and they will create positive experiences for you.
Dabba Mallangyirren is a NDIS-registered disability services provider in northern NSW (Tweed, Byron Bay, Lismore, and Northern Rivers), Gold Coast, Brisbane, and Melbourne. Their team of qualified professionals is committed to providing personalised care to individuals with disabilities. They offer a wide range of supports including support coordination, community engagement, and housing assistance.
The Initiative also included access to consultants with particular expertise in co-design and community of practice development. While this was resource intensive for both NDS and the sites involved, it appeared to be useful in supporting practice change. This was particularly the case in sites where coordinators were concerned about how to retain the higher level of skills developed in the CII and to continue person-centred planning for community inclusion in their individual packages. They wanted to ensure they had sufficient time and resources to do so. They also needed to consider the implications of the new ways they were doing business for their participants.
Dabba Mallangyirren is one of the many registered NDIS providers that offer a variety of disability services. Their team is dedicated to genuine connections, safety, and creating positive experiences for their clients. Their services include home and community care, respite care, day support, allied health, and NDIS planning and coordination.
The NDIS officially rolled out in Lismore, Ballina, Byron, Richmond Valley, and Kyogle in Northern NSW on 1 July 2017. The NDIS allows participants to gain more time with friends and family, greater independence, and access to new activities. It also connects them to services in the community, including social groups and sporting clubs.
As the NDIS continues to roll out, a cottage industry is growing that aims to clip the ticket between participants and service providers. These services are called plan management, and they can help you save money on fees and give you more control over your budget. They can also help you find suitable providers, and negotiate prices with them.
Founded by people who care about building Staff and Participant connections, Disability Services specialises in low -- high complex disability home and community care, personal care, respite and day support services, accommodation assistance, transport, allied health and NDIS Planning and Coordination. They work with participants to develop plans that reflect their interests and goals.
The National Disability Insurance Scheme is a new way of supporting individuals with a disability. It gives participants more choice and control over the supports they receive, and helps them achieve their goals. It also allows participants to maintain informal support arrangements with friends and family who don’t get paid for their services. To know more about Disability Lismore, visit the Dabba Mallangyirren website or call 0403856995.
Champion Mentors is an NDIS-registered provider of disability support workers, with a strong regional presence in the Tweed, Byron Bay, and Lismore regions of Northern NSW. Their team is dedicated to genuine connections, safety, and creating positive experiences for their clients. They are a great option for people who are looking for personalised disability support in Northern NSW.

Applicants must show that they are professionally competent. This includes having tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline. They also need to provide proof of insurance.
Public sector
The Andrews Labor Government is committed to making the public sector an employer of choice for people with disability jobs Victoria, and to ensuring the right job matches the skills of each person. Public service departments and managers have an important role to play, through policies and positive leadership.
The Department of Families, Fairness and Housing offers a range of employment opportunities, including traineeships and the graduate recruitment and development scheme. We also offer work experience and internship programs for secondary and tertiary students. We provide disability-specific training and support for employees, and information about reasonable workplace adjustments.
Child protection practitioners investigate reports of harm to children, and there are a variety of entry level roles available. Housing services officers help people with disability access affordable and safe housing. And forensic disability services work to support people who are involved in the criminal justice system. These roles provide a diverse range of challenges and opportunities, and can be highly rewarding.
Private sector
There are a number of barriers to people with disability entering the workforce. These include prejudice, lack of awareness, and the difficulty of navigating workplace adjustment processes. These are issues that can be addressed through training and the development of policy. The policies should be linked with anti-discrimination legislation on the grounds of disability.
The public sector has a strong role to play in driving change and implementing Getting to Work. Government departments are required to prepare and implement EEO management plans, lodge them annually and report on their progress to the Public Service Commission.
It’s important to have policies in place that encourage the private sector to engage with disability employment programs. These policies should be based on the principles of inclusion, equality, and flexibility. They should also focus on fostering a culture of inclusion. This will help to create a diverse and inclusive workplace that benefits all employees. In addition, it will increase productivity and profitability by attracting the most skilled workers.
NDS CareCareers
The NDS CareCareers Victorian Workforce Promotion Project aims to promote the opportunities for employment within the disability sector in Melbourne and its surrounding areas. This includes developing and disseminating information, networking and advocacy on operational and wider policy issues concerning disability workforce, including the NDIS.
The project also supports NDS members to recruit and retain quality staff. It provides resources for disability workers in a variety of sectors, including community care and residential settings. It offers advice on the NDIS remuneration model, the portable long service benefits scheme and the new Disability Worker Commission check process. It also outlines support worker requirements and provides tips for working with people with disability.
NDS is a member of the Ticket to Work network, which is funded by the Australian Government Department of Education and Training. The network focuses on improving transition outcomes for young people with disability. It uses Kohler’s key principles of best practice transition and a strong emphasis on career development and employment first.
Explore disability careers
A job in disability support can be rewarding for people with a variety of skill sets and experience. The job focuses on helping people with disabilities live life to the fullest. The role offers a range of opportunities for advancement and provides many benefits, including excellent salary packaging and flexible working arrangements.
There are a number of ways to work in the disability sector, including traineeships, graduate recruitment and development schemes, and advertised roles. The government is also investing in programs that help people with disability prepare for work, develop job skills, and build confidence.
Many organisations provide training for people with disabilities, which is an excellent way to start a new career or change your existing one. This includes the Job Access Centre, which offers free advice and assistance for jobseekers with disabilities or health conditions. This service also has a network of local job coaches. The government also supports self-employment for people with disability through the Entrepreneurs with Disabilities Program.

Australia: Farmers are famously self-reliant. Why not use farm dams as mini-hydro plants?
- By Nicholas Gilmore , Martino Malerba , Thomas Britz , The Conversation -
Farmers often pride themselves on their self-reliance. When you live far from the cities, it makes sense to do as much as possible yourself.
Australia’s sheer size has meant many remote farms have long been off grid as it’s often simply too expensive to get a power connection. But for those still on the grid, there are now new options.
As solar gets cheaper, more and more farms are aiming to become self-reliant in power. But until now, getting fully off the grid has had a sticking point – solar intermittency. Solar power might be cheaper than ever, but if you don’t have storage or backup, you’re still reliant on the grid when the sun doesn’t shine.
Batteries are a compelling solution. But they might not offer a full day’s backup and come with concerns about fire risk and waste.
Generators offer reliable backup. But they too have downsides – they have to be resupplied and produce harmful emissions.
For farmers, there’s now another option: connect one of your dams to a river – or link two dams together – to create a small pumped hydro plant to store electricity from solar to use at night. The water in your dams could offer yet another form of self-reliance.
Our new research has identified over 30,000 rural sites where micro pumped hydro could work. A typical site could produce two kilowatts of power and store 30 kilowatt hours of energy – enough to run a typical home in South Australia for 40 hours.
Micro pumped hydro is surprisingly simple: two dams, a pump and a turbine. Author provided, CC BY-ND
Massive to micro? Yes, pumped hydro can work on farms
Pumped hydro is essentially turning hydroelectric power into a battery as well.
Take two reservoirs, where one is higher than the other. When you have extra solar power, you store it. How? By using the energy to pump water uphill to the top reservoir. When you need power later on, you release water down to the lower reservoir and produce electricity with a turbine.
At large scale, these plants are an established and efficient way to store energy, though they can suffer from cost blowouts, as in the Snowy 2.0 scheme. Queensland’s government is planning massive pumped hydro schemes to act as batteries.
Until recently, small-scale pumped hydro hasn’t made much economic sense.
But the steadily falling cost of solar means the numbers have changed. It’s now more cost effective to get larger arrays. And that opens up opportunities to find ways to store surplus electricity generated in daytime.
For farmers, another opportunity is the ability to use existing dams and reduce pumped hydro construction costs.
If it’s cheaper, it’s much more viable. Early research on solar-powered irrigation systems using pumped hydro suggests the payback period for this kind of energy storage could be up to four times shorter than for batteries.
What’s the catch? As you might have guessed, this solution depends on the size of existing farm dams and rivers, and topography of the land.
The steeper the slope between the two water bodies, the more useful the system will be as energy storage. To get the most out of these systems means finding the sites with the most potential value. And it’s likely the solution won’t work for farms on flat ground – you need a drop of at least 20 metres.
You’re probably wondering how this stacks up financially. We compared a micro pumped hydro system with 42.6kWh capacity and able to discharge 3.6kW to a commercial lithium-ion battery, the Tesla Powerwall, able to store 13.5kWh and discharge 5.0kW.
We found micro pumped hydro storage was 30% cheaper than a battery if locally generated solar was regularly needed overnight – such as to power a 24/7 irrigation system.
Australia has thousands of potential sites
Our research is the first continent-wide assessment of potential pumped hydro farm dam sites.
How did we figure out how many sites would suit micro pumped hydro? The magic of maths. We used algorithms from graph theory, as these are used to model networks, and set them loose on a 2021 survey of 1.7 million Australian farm dams. We didn’t want to raise people’s hopes if their dams weren’t suitable, so we set the minimum capacity at 24kWh (similar to a typical home battery after efficiency losses) and with a minimum slope of 17%, to make it price competitive with a battery.
That’s how we came up with our figure of 30,000 promising sites, including dam-to-dam and dam-to-river sites. Dam-to-river sites are a good option if you have a dam at a reasonable elevation above a river – you can pump water uphill from the river and return it later to make power.
What’s next for this approach?
You can make this approach more efficient by using new all-in-one hardware, such as combined turbines and water pumps, as well as integrating it with smart irrigation management.
To be clear, this solution won’t work for every landholder. If you’re farming wheat on flat plains, you’re unlikely to have the slope needed to make it work.
If you’re considering getting storage to go off grid, it’s essential to consider the pros and cons of each technology and how it would suit your local conditions.
For instance, if you’re in a drought-prone area with limited groundwater, it may not make sense to install pumped hydro. During a drought, you may well need the water on the farm. Our research assumes 70% of the water in the dams is available for use, which does not account for droughts or irrigation needs.
But for some landholders, this may be the missing part of the puzzle. Wind and solar installation is skyrocketing [around the world]. This, in turn, is boosting demand for cost-effective energy storage. Given there are 30,000 suitable farm dams in Australia alone, it’s likely this technology could play a valuable role around the world – especially for farmers in remote areas or where grid connection is too expensive.

a yandere request for the ice cream duo and ghiaccio with a darling that hides from them. Like the yanderes can not find them at all
Shyness
Ghiaccio and Sorbet/Gelato x Reader, Yandere, SFW
Ghiaccio
He doesn't notice at first. A distant and uncertain yandere, Ghiaccio is in your presence for perhaps a couple hours of the day at very most, and that's largely just to bring you things or take you out the room for the sake of your sanity. Most of the time, you don't even need to hide from him.
However, it came to pass that the longer you spent with him, the more you found yourself dreading his brief visits. It's not that he ever did anything to you, he was just a reminder of everything that had happened; the trauma of your abduction. And so, when Ghiaccio announced he was allowing you out of your room more often in reward for your behaviour, all you could feel was dread.
And so, you began to spend your newfound freedom scouting out places to hide in Ghiaccio's house. He lives in a high-rise apartment, so jumping from the windows isn't an option, and most of the other flats are empty so you can't shout for help. It would definitely seem hiding is your only option for if you get scared.
Ghiaccio stores his stuff very neatly so it's not easy to find places without displacing everything, but if you get creative enough, you'll find somewhere. It feels nice, lying down in the space under the sofa, the heat of your body slowly warming up your surroundings. It's the safest you've felt in weeks.
But then, Ghiaccio realises you're missing. Incredibly paranoid of losing you, he panics at once and immediately presumes you've managed to slip away. The sound of him running through the house screaming your name is terrifying, and chances are, your involuntary whimpers probably give you away.
Finding you under the sofa, eyes red from crying, is incredibly sobering for Ghiaccio. He immediately feels like the biggest idiot and would kick himself if he could. His apology is rapid, pulling you into his lap for a frantic explanation or how sorry he is. He explains he was never angry, just scared.
You're more than welcome to hide again if you ever feel like it, just so long as you answer when called. In return, he won't disturb you unless necessary. Honestly, he just wants you to do whatever you feel safe in his house as long as he still knows you're there.
Sorbet and Gelato
Though still quite cautious yanderes, Sorbet and Gelato are much more assured in their ability to keep you in their arms. Even if you were to get away, they have so many skills and connections they really could follow you to the ends of the earth, so loosing you isn't really much of a panic. If anything, the thought of you briefly escaping even excites them. Gives them something to do.
They don't really let you out much, keeping you in the basement for the vast majority of your time in the early weeks. However, beg enough with those big eyes and Gelato might just cave and let you out for a bit while Sorbet isn't around. Or, you might slip out. The door isn't locked on account of you being chained to the wall and if you're crafty enough with some bobby pins, you might just get the chains off.
Maybe your initial plan was to escape, but for understandable reasons, you don't go through with it. Deciding instead that a few hours without Gelato's incessant pestering, alone in the dark to dissociate, would be the next best thing.
Gelato realises you're missing and immediately calls in Sorbet to consider what might have happened. After doing the rounds of the doors and windows, they're convinced you haven't left the house so must still be inside. Perhaps this is part of some greater scheme of yours, or perhaps you genuinely just got a bit panicked and hid.
They start checking in all the obvious places, calling out as they walk around the house. No doubt you hear them and the fear grows in you quite a bit. Once the obvious choices have all been exhausted, Sorbet becomes increasingly concerned about the possibility you might be trying to ambush them with a weapon, so Gelato agrees to use his stand.
A few moments later, from your hiding place, you feel a string tighten around your wrist and realise the game is up. Gelato's stand Windrag, a little doll made of string, opens the door and crawls into your lap, reunifying itself with the unwound part of its body it used to locate you. You loom up and see your captors staring down at you.
Before you can stammer out your pleas not to hurt you, Sorbet has you lifted into his arms, facing Gelato. The smaller man coos about how much fun they had running around after you, and how they'd love to do it again sometime. They bring you back down to the basement, tuck you into your bed, and leave you be with a kiss to your cheek from each. It would seem they aren't the least bit bothered.

I can confirm, they introduced themselves as 3 readers and they made a post how Bee is leaving and starting their own channel. They even made a post to support it and linked the blog, that's how I knew of the Bee drama. But yknow whatever. But they shouldn't demonize those poor future apouses lmao, it's not gonna be them, or any of us.
Warning very long, I got carried away my bad lol
But the drama on tumblr is kinda mild conpared to Youtube "readers". At least the readers here on tumblr try to hide the fact, that they're describing themselves very well but yoooooooo.... Youtube readers are a different breed. Most of them are super young (12-13, but there are a handful of readers old enough to fucking know better) and just straight up describe themselves with no shame. I even found some who put pics of themselves lmao. Me and my friends like to go through readings and bet, who is describing themselves as a spouse. There is one reader who has over 30+ vids on Mrs. J, and most readings are like over 20 mins long. How much is there to know about a person, that doesn't exist yet??? But most YT readers are obssessed with the fact, that Mrs. J is from India, what a coincidence that the reader is also from India lmao. I'm not saying BTS wouldn't ever date someone from that country, I'm saying it's impossible to get a specific country, age, height, religion etc from tarot cards. The pics on the cards might give you clues and the cards can say that the person is different from you, but they go into way too much detail. And it's funny because they're always soooo specific for Jungkook and V, but for the other ones....crickets🦗 On one hand it's so sad bc you have these little girls, putting out their private info, looks and secrets for the whole world to see (these vids have thousands of views) and they don't really grasp the consequences of their actions bc yknow, their just children. The internet never forgets. But on the other hand, you have these grown women who, like I said, should know better than these little girls. Not only do they get so defensive if you don't 100% allign with what they said, they are borderline so obsessed of the idea of being a spouse. Like tf??? Bts aren't Gods. They're very attractive celebs, who's purpose is to entertain people with their contents and music (hence the word idol & entertainer), while they do feed into that perfect bf material scheme, it's up to the fan to not actually develop real romantic feelings (a celeb crush and being a stan is something very different). Most are actually fans for very superficial reasons, they just find them attractive, not the music. And if you take the glitz and glamour of fame and money away, Bts are regular human beings, with flaws and issues. Like. The. Rest. Of. Us. They only show you the best side of them, because it's part of the whole idol package. We truly do not know these people, no matter how sincere or authentic they appear on camera. Like so so many were suprised that they wanted to disband a few years ago, bc they couldn't handle the pressure. These readers always believe if they meet/marry them, their life is going to be better and they feel alive again or smth. Most of these readers actually need therapy, I don't mean that in a condescending way. They imagine that their spouse, a celeb they've never met, will be their sole reason for their happiness and only then they are able to fix their issues and unhappiness. That reeks of co-dependency. And even if they'd become couple and be public, then what? A really big big chunk of Armys are actually in love with Bts, no matter if they even know tarot or not (Armys usually claim that only 2% of the fandom are delulus but that's definetly not true🥴). You'd get send d*eath threats, be harrassed, get doxxed, be hated for all eternity, even if you'd decided to break up. Look what happend with Jk and the tattoo artist he only hugged. She lost her job bc Armys were reporting her, some were trashing her workplace, she got threats, her friends got harassed and doxxed and she lost a friend (Jk). Not only that, but people would legit stalk you and try to hurt you, if you were a romatic partner of Bts. Then you also have the tarot side, who'd try to curse youa nd paint you as the evil demon, who is toxic to member xyz. And I don't think you'd want to spend your entire life locked in your house. And I personally could never deal with like millions of haters, no matter how hot my partner is.
Yoooo! i search again in yt and watch a couple of videos... these are kids for go sake🥺🥺 where are their parents and why they let them public private infoooo?!? internet and children isnt the best combination...
and yess, theres also grown up women and thats really creepy, u can understand that children might do that cause they are young, BUT WHEN U ARE OLD ENOUGH, U SHOULD ACT BETTER!! and i insist, they just trying to prove to themselves and to the world that they are worth it to be with a celebrity, like yeah of course u are worthy, like any of us, but this is not the way u know? its weird, i dont think its sane at all, they just are using the cards to feel better, and thats bs. and if it is just a cope mecanism, plz work on yourself, get help, life its better when u are in a healthy place
also its interesting about mrs being from india and most of all the videos i watch where from indian armys, tarot doesnt work like that, yeah u can feel the energy that its different, perhaps different culture and think that maybe it could be a foreing, but the cards will never tell you something that specific, less if u dont even know in person the people you are reading for
we dont know them at all, and people put them in a such high pedestal just for being famous and hot, so i really have trouble to think that some tarot readers can pick their real energy, im a very intuitive person, but i need to be in the presence of the person to feel their real energy, so to be so specific in a reading they need to energise the cards with the energy of the person, they need to at least shuffle the cards and connect with the reader, sooo thats why i only see these reads as enterteiment, and its bad for the community to claim that we can see ALL of about them.
i'll never forgive the people who threaten the tattoo artist, poor girl, and thats why the guys cant have healthiest relationship, let them have a LIFE
#bts tarot#bts astrology#bts future spouse#mrs jeon#its so sad to think that they are wasting their youth and cant have friends cause some fans would harrass the people they love#like im only one year young than jk and jeez#they work so hard just to have people harass them bc they claim to be their future spouses?#mom plz pick me up#at this ratio all of us will marry bts#call me mrs bts now 🥴#no plz dont

What's 2 similarities & 2 differences U have noticed between Ozpin & Oscar?
Aaahh I was wondering if you were going to ask me! I’ve been seeing you around asking this question and the answers have all been interesting! So I’ll take on a response that people aren’t taking on then, yes? This will be a long post, so if anyone is interested in reading past the first analysis just click the ‘read more’!
Their Origins
Ozpin is at the core based off of two characters. One of those characters, Oscar is also connected to. There are obviously more characters and whatnot they reference, but for the sake of simplicity, I will only be addressing their clear initial inspiration. Ozpin is based off of The Wizard of Oz, also known as Professor Oz primarily in the Oz Book Series; but his full name is Oscar Zoroaster Phadrig Isaac Norman Henkle Emmannuel Ambroise Diggs, which he abbreviated to Ozpin Head. (Thank you @immortal-green-snom for this tidbit!!!) In the book series, after he had left in the air balloon in an attempt to help Dorothy get home, Professor Oz was revealed to have done a lot of slimy and heinous things to keep the throne of the Emerald City, and by extension, the Land of Oz itself. While he does get better in the latter books he reappears in, he was portrayed as being manipulative, a bit pathetic, but extremely intelligent and a master of illusions. I wouldn't be surprised if the writers of RWBY were trying to get that across in Ozpin's traits, but to be quite honest, they kinda failed at making him even a morally grey character, as a lot (not all, he isn't guitless, but again, a lot) of the arguments used in-show, and the FNDM itself, are all about things that were either not in his control, or something that was painted as being his fault/harmful, but was actually the opposite of the situation. The biggest example of this is Raven trying to trick Yang and Weiss into believing Ozpin had forced her and Qrow to become birds/have the ability to do so. In a lot of ways, Ozpin and Professor Oz are actually opposites of one another in terms of personalities, which may have in actuality been the overall intention CRWBY had, but we can only speculate. Professor Oz is extremely selfish, while Ozpin is selfless, even to a point where it actually becomes harmful to others. Professor Oz would have done anything to be in power, while Ozpin has done everything to relinquish himself of a position of power, which I find very interesting. This may be due to him even trying to somehow relinquish the burden the God of Light has placed on Oz as a whole, but is ultimately unable to give up that specific task. Even though, truthfully, he needed to relinquish that particular stronghold all along. Professor Oz is clearly a leader, and despite his negative traits, is actually a very good one. Ozpin...as much as I love him as a character, is not the greatest leader. He is, however, an excellent advisor/second-in-command. Professor Oz is only a mere mortal man pretending to be something more, while Ozpin is something bigger than a mortal man, but is pretending to be nothing but a man. Expanding upon this, they also are desperate to be the opposite of what they are. Professor Oz wants to be what he portrayed himself as, and for Ozpin, it's very much the same situation. There is a lot more I could say, but let's move on to Oscar!
Oscar Pine, like Ozpin, is based off of two characters at the core. Again, it is likely that he represents more than two, but for the sake of simplicity, let's discuss only the two. From the moment I saw Oscar, I knew right away that he was based off of my favorite character from the Oz Book Series...Tip. Tip, short for Tippetarius, was too a farmboy who longed for much more, who knew that there was more out there, despite being notably content in their lifestyle. The only difference was that Tip was a slave to an evil witch, but he escapes her in the second chapter with a companion. He is described as being just like any boy; rugged, mischievous, playful, and a lover of all things fun while still being quite shrewd. Unlike Ozpin and Professor Oz, Tip and Oscar are, in fact, extremely alike. Even down to their colors and appearance. Despite how Tip is colored, he actually has light brown skin (though considering the time period, we all know why this fact was dismissed), and black hair. And his treasured beanie cap was green and orange. His clothes also had a primary color scheme of brown, and were dirty due to the work he had done on the farm. Oscar and Tip have the exact same personalities, which was what affirmed to me that Oscar was meant to be his primary parallel. What got me the most was their sarcasm. Tip is still the most sarcastic and genuinely street-smart protagonists in the Oz Books. Not to say there were no other protags like that, but there was something to be said about how Tip was one of the few protagonists to actually act as a leader in the traveling group. Just like Oscar, Tip is also quite emotional, and they both have a sharp temper that they express not in loud outbursts, but by quips that you know could be quite hurtful if they wanted them to be. However, between the two, Tip is the loudest, should you put them in the same room. However, I suspect that as time goes on, Oscar might start becoming quite vocal when he doesn't like something, as I've noticed that the more he develops, the more he acts like Tip. Their behaviors are similar as well; when something personal is going on between two parties who clearly knew each other before him, both Oscar and Tip have a tendency to hang back and simply let the moment play out. They both start out as being sort of bystanders, just going with the flow while occassionally giving very good advice/strategies, but they start to become more of a leader as time goes on. In fact, leadership seems to be in their blood. There is actually a reason for this.
Ozma of Oz
There is a single thread that connects both Oscar and Ozpin, and that is the second primary character they represent. That character is the infamous Princess/Queen Ozma of Oz. Ozma, in many ways, is a lot like both Ozpin and Oscar; and may be the kind of person they become once the merging is complete. She is shrewd, but gentle. Sarcastic and blunt, but very elegant and fun-loving. They have a particular grace in how they handle their politics, but she admittedly gets into more trouble than rulers of kingdoms should. She is, ultimately, the perfect archetype of a ruler. And had completely reformed The Emerald City to be an environment that is very much like Vale's open-mindedness, with the advanced technology and efficiency of Atlas. Ozma, in the books, was actually revealed to be Tip; or rather, Tip was Ozma. After being transformed into a boy as a baby by a witch under Professor Oz's command, they were whisked away by said witch, and had been working under that witch until they had escaped as a young boy. Many speculate that Ozma was meant to represent the transgender community, and I know many transgenders see Ozma as an icon. Frank Baum was the type of guy that wrote things that were ahead of his time, and seen as very controversial by the few who could actually read the metaphors planned out. It was even implied in the later books that Ozma and Dorothy get married, and there were many illustrations made from the original novel illustrators of Ozma and Dorothy looking like a couple. What's even greater is that despite the change of gender from Tip to Ozma, she still very much contains her boyish traits despite the frills and queenly garb. As stated in one of the last lines in the second Oz Book;
"I hope none of you will care for me less than you did before. I am still the same Tip you know..."
When I realized Oscar was Tip, I knew Ozma was going to be put into the equation. I just,,,, wasn't expecting..... t h a t.
Oscar and Ozpin
Time to actually answer the question I was asked JSDJFDKDFKFK--
Oscar and Ozpin are different in one particular way: Trust. Ozpin trusts nobody. Truthfully, he doesn't even trust himself, I don't think, and that is likely why he didn't have much of a plan these days. He doesn't trust himself to be competent enough to complete the task assigned to him, he doesn't trust humanity to pass, hell, I don't think he even trusts the Gods to be capable of taking care of humanity considering the shit job they did in the past, and how poorly they have handled Ozma and Salem. In simple terms, Ozpin trusts too little. Oscar, on the other hand, trusts...a little too much. There, I said it. And I'm willing to say it again. Oscar trusts too much. Whether or not that will change after the end of V7 and what happened in V8 is left for debate. Oscar seems almost incapable of seeing the downside in some situations, like, for example, confronting a General who has completely gone off the deep end, unarmed and alone. And he trusted a man who needlessly beat the shit out of him for something that nobody, not even Salem, were truly at fault for. And while that trust paid off, unlike how it did in the past, it is a bit of an alarming trait that I genuinely think will simmer down either after all that happened in V8, or it will eventually when that trust truly bites him in the ass.
Another polarization between Oscar and Ozpin: faith. This ties in a little bit with the trust theme, but there is enough to talk about on its own. While Ozpin does believe that humanity is overall good, I think he has lost faith in their capability to work together long enough for there to be any sort of permanent peace. And, admittedly, he isn't wrong to think that. I think you would have to be very foolish if you genuinely think there will ever be a point where humanity will stop fighting amongst themselves; in other words, Ozpin is fully aware that the God of Light's task is genuinely impossible. And honestly? I think the GoL knows it is, too. Oscar has faith as well, but he views the dire circumstance in a different way that may be the key to solve the seemingly unending puzzle of Salem and their task. He gets faith in humanity not through the overall picture, but in the smallest things. Oscar likely believes that it doesn't matter if all of humanity is united, because he too knows that will never happen. But, he is certain that there is a lot more power in the smallest of unions and actions; a racist woman reforming and helping to comfort a faunaus child. A woman who helped a group of people tear down a kingdom realize the fault of their actions, and try to save another kingdom's people. A man who, while being genuinely wise, was so blinded by rage that he could not see past his own nose, change in order to save what little good has sprouted from something so terrible that he helped sow. The little things matter so much more, and unlike Ozpin, he doesn't think that they need to grow any further than that.
So, what makes them similar? Two distinct things. They both are very personal. Even if it is in different forms of expressing, Oscar and Ozpin are quite personal, especially when it comes to their advice. But they also really feel for the person they are talking to. And while Ozpin felt Hazel was too far gone, he felt for him and understood and even agreed with his anger. Their empathy is truly something else; and it is also their weakest point. Not to say that having empathy is bad, but their empathy leads into another trait that they have in common... They let people walk all over them. All. The. Time. To a point where it is actually very frustrating, and it even hinders their development as characters. Ozpin let Ironwood walk all over him, and never spoke in defense for himself. Ozpin let the council walk all over him, and never defended himself. Ozpin allowed for so much of the blame to be placed on his own shoulders, that it is extremely unhealthy, and something I wish the show would address, but have come to accept that it won't. Especially when this trait is reflected in Oscar as well. He blamed himself for failing to convince Ironwood, he allowed for Jaune to verbally and physically attack him, and outright refused to let Jaune apologize. They both brush off their wellbeing so often, that watching Oscar do the same only confirms to me the suspicions I had as to why everyone was genuinely so blind to figure out what was going on in their heads and when they were struggling. Because both Oscar and Ozpin refuse to acknowledge their own struggles and shortcomings.
But, to be frank, that is more of a writing issue than a character reflection, in my personal opinion. And I'll continue to see it that way until the show actively acknowledges that unhealthy behavior.
There ya go! My very very long analysis of Oscar and Ozpin; I hope I brought something unique among the batch of this question!

No but listen. L I S T E N. This hug. This HUg. I can’t believe I actually can write an essay on this. No but the best bit about this hug is how different their strides are.
She opens the door and she looks at him like she always does, but with considerably more relief than normal. She was shuttled away, never thinking she was going to see him again, she would have died on that planet if it meant she wouldn’t leave him. She was devastated in the rocket, maybe even running through the worst case scenario of shaking up somewhere with the 2 men that have just kidnapped her (but were very lovely nonetheless). She’s just murdered someone. It’s true, he was possessed and getting ready to kill them if it meant escaping, but she still killed another human. She closes her eyes as the rocket starts falling into the black hole and she finally resigns herself. She’s calm, devastated but calm, because what’s life without the Doctor anyway? At least this way she could truly spend forever with him. The irony that they should die in the same place but at different points of time. But then she hears his voice and it takes her a second of shock before she so excitedly calls out that she’s there on the rocket and he can come and get her. And she’s giddy, because he saved her like he always does, even if for a moment there she didn’t think he would. So when she opens the TARDIS doors after they’ve landed on some planet somewhere and dropped Ida off (he doesn’t even leave the TARDIS to greet her either because when they reunite he wants it to be a moment shared between them alone), she looks at him because somehow, against all odds, he’s there. He’s her home, she’s not thinking about getting the TARDIS back (and we all know how deeply connected Rose and the TARDIS are to each other), she’s just so happy and relieved to see him. So she runs to him, because she just cannot wait to have him in her arms, to feel him there and know he’s safe. Her strides are so quick, excited. She practically sprints.
But the Doctor walks with these long, firm strides of purpose and certainty. He’s spent however long on that planet realising he doesn’t know anything. It’s impossible that they’re underneath a black hole, in orbit, but there they are. It’s impossible that there’s writing so old on the wall that not even the TARDIS can translate it, but there it is. A creature claiming to be from before time and the Doctor can’t refute it, he has no proof that this beast’s version of the truth is any truer than his own. He falls into that pit not knowing whether he’ll make it out alive. He doesn’t know anything in this episode and it shows, he literally descends into the unknown. And he gets down into the pit and faces the beast and he loses it even more. He has this eccentric energy about him because he’s working through his beliefs, piecing it together with the limited truths that he does have.
“I accept that you exist. I don't have to accept what you are, but your physical existence, I'll give you that.”
And then the beast dares to make him chose between his escape and Rose’s. The darkness and terror of the devil’s flee or Rose’s survival. But he doesn’t even flinch (and we’ve seen the parallels between this episode and World War Three) because this time, the Doctor doesn’t need to decide between one or the other. He doesn’t always have to save everyone himself, because now he has someone who would gladly take that weight from his shoulders whenever she can. His huge 900 year existential crisis comes to a climax and to him its laughable, that this beast thinks its won, how much it has underestimated how fiercely he loves Rose.
“Except that implies in this big grand scheme of Gods and Devils that she's just a victim. But I've seen a lot of this universe. I've seen fake gods and bad gods and demi-gods and would-be gods, and out of all that, out of that whole pantheon, if I believe in one thing, just one thing, I believe in her. ”
This fucking knobhead is laughing in the god damn face of the DEVIL because it had the audacity to assume Rose Tyler wouldn’t refuse to put her life in the hands of anyone other than herself. These two episodes have been so focused on him completely losing his sense of self, his belief system. This mf centuries-old lord of time is lost and he’s falling until this ordinary shop girl with no a-levels nor aspirations comes along and stabilises him, she takes his hand in the darkness and pulls him back up. If there’s one thing he knows to be true, one thing he knows he cannot possible refute, and it’s not even something physical or tangible that he can look at and confirm is true, it’s his belief in that woman. In her strength and her love, her compassion and her devotion. She is who the last of the time lords turns to when he can’t save everyone. And it gets me that he’s quite happy to go down with that being what he dies for. He’s done it before and he’ll do it again. He even mocks the beast as they go because he wants to rub it in just that little bit more that the beast was so far from having won. But by some sheer stroke of luck he finds the TARDIS and now he can go and get her. And the way he looks at her when he finally sees her. This man, this time lord, is looking at the one thing that’s just made sense of his chaos, the one thing that’s grounded him, his truth in a time of crumbling uncertainty. Imagine what that would feel like. She is literally his home, his comfort, his answer. So his strides are stable as he goes to get her. They’re strong, she’s given him that strength. I think if she hadn’t have been so giddy he would have kissed her there and then. But he doesn’t, he just lets out this giddy giggle with her, because that’s what they do. They laugh and they giggle, they hug and they smile. They’re both home. He’s finally home and she’s right there with him.
AND THEN HE LOSES HER.
