LET GO - part 1
summary: abby is your new bodyguard and takes her job very seriously, but your gonna help her loosen up.
cw: bodyguard!abby, sfw, nothing sexual in this part.
toni's note: new series yall! watch me only post this and abandon it.
╭──╯ . . . . . . . . . . ╰──╮
“but papa!” “i don’t want to hear it girl, you keep acting like a child, chasing all your bodyguards away. but i promise you this one will not be chased away so easily!” your father says before hanging up on you. you stare down at your disconnected phone with a frown, wont be so easily chased away? not him challenging you. who ever this man is, he won’t be here for long.
your phone vibrates with a text from your father telling you that your new bodyguard is on the way to your apartment. you have a attitude at the fact that your father isn’t getting the hint, you don’t need a babysitter. people in his industry don’t even know he has a daughter so this is all so extra. you hear a knock at your door as you walk over to it with a huff.
you swing the door open when your eyes widened. you are (pleasantly) surprised as you see the tall, very beautiful blonde at your door. she stands with a straight, stiff posture with her hands behind her back as she looks down at you. “it’s nice to meet you, ma’am. i’m abby anderson, your new bodyguard.”
fuck. you will absolutely not being trying to drive this one away, you think as you watch the buff woman walk into your overly expensive apartment. you watch her ass in her tight black pants as she observes her surroundings, you bite your lip before speaking, “how bout we go out?” if your father is going to pay a beautiful woman to hang out with you, you will take full advantage.
“we can do what ever you want miss.” she says looking at you. your face beams as you rush to get dressed. you and abby are going to get along great.
it’s been two months since abby started following you around like a guard dog. she doesn’t talk much but you don’t stop talking to her. in the beginning she was strict with herself, walking behind you and making sure areas were secure before letting you do your thing, but you slowly broke down her walls. now she walks beside you, even letting you hold on to her arm as you walk.
her stoic face melts into one of warmth that only you can see. it’s almost unnoticeable if you didn’t spend everyday with her but you see the warmth in her eyes and the slight upturn of her lips as she looks at you.
you were in your own world, looking out the window as abby drove you guys home after a great day of shopping when your attention snaps to abby’s hand that is suddenly resting on your thigh, giving it a slight shake. before you can say anything her hand is gone and you look up at her face, yours getting warm as she glances at you. “you zoned out for a minute.” she says with a concerned look.
you grab her hand that is sitting on the middle console bring it up to your face, “aww you were worried about me~” you tease as you lean over the console closer to her face. she looks over at you slightly pushing at your shoulders to sit back in your seat, “put your seat belt on miss.” she stops at a red light reaching over you pulling your seatbelt, she smells like pine and something else earthy but sexy. you take a long sniff and she looks at you with a quirked brow and a small smirk, you turn away.
“how many times do i have to tell you to stop calling me miss, abs?” you say pouting at her. she lets out a grunt and starts driving again. abby let’s you intertwine your fingers, holding her hand as she unconsciously rubs small circles on the back of your hand.
you two reach the apartment you now share together, she sits your bags on your bedroom floor before announcing that she was going to take a shower. you make dinner for the two of you and watch a movie, that you forced her to watch with you, as you ate.
“night,” abby says walking into the spare bedroom that’s now hers. “goodnight, abs” you say as you walk into your own room. your scrolling through your phone before bed when a loud lightning strike struck outside. you jump and squeal a little. “what the fuck,” you mumble putting your head under your blanket. it starts to pour and you feel like the thunder is getting louder and louder. you grab your pillow jumping out of bed to abby‘s room.
you knock on the door, when you get no answer you walk in quietly. “abby?” you call out as you watch her chest rise and fall, sleeping peacefully through the aggressive storm. you sit on the empty side of her bed shaking at her shoulder, she wakes up with a start, glancing around before her eyes settle on you. “what’s wrong?” she asks rubbing her eyes. “can i sleep with you?”
“huh?” she says not sure if she heard you, “i’m scared of the storm, bad memories.” abby flops back on her pillow with a sigh, before signaling for you to get in. you hurriedly crawl under the covers and scoot closer to abby. you absentmindedly play with her hair that is laid across her pillow. abby turns her head towards you. you slide your hand to her cheek cupping and rubbing your thumb over it.
the only sounds you can hear in the room is the rain pounding against the window and each others breathing. you two are so close that you feel her breath against your face, abby keeps her dark blue eyes trained on your face. you lean in placing a soft kiss on her lips before pulling back. abby slightly follows your lips before she places her hand on your waist leaning in to kiss you again.
your kiss becomes heated and you crawl on top of her, straddling her legs as you press your body against hers. the storm is long forgotten as you two run your hands over each other, panting into each others mouths. as your hand reaches to pull her shirt up, she grabs your hand pulling away from your lips. “we have to stop…” she whispers staring at your lips. she slowly pushes you off her lap on to the spot next to her.
abby sits up putting her face in her hands. you two sit in silence for awhile, you could see this was really bothering her. if abby is one thing, its serious about her job. “let’s sleep.” she says after a long moment. you nod laying down, abby scoots away from you leaving a nice space in between you two.
“i won’t tell my anyone…” you whisper to abby but she doesn’t respond.

Solstice Eve | Loki x Reader
You and Loki enjoy the run up to the Winter Solstice, getting to know the Asgardian court and integrating into your new home. But there's always trouble brewing and this time old allies come back as new enemies.
Warnings: some language, silly fluff, Christmas vibes in August, threat of kidnapping.
AN: what do you mean this is 8 months too late!?

Series Masterlist | Loki Masterlist | Masterlist
Winter in Tonsberg was beautiful. You watched day after day as drifts of snow filled in the crags and tarns of the mountains surrounding the village. Every morning you made coffee for two, slowly learning all of the different dials and knobs of the expensive coffee machine Loki had in his impressively equipped kitchen. His cottage wasn’t as sprawling as the compound, but it was beautifully appointed. From the open stone fireplace to the waterfall shower and roll top bath, Loki had a wonderful eye for both luxury and comfort in even the most everyday items and habits. He allowed you to make any changes you wanted though, adding blankets you bought at the Sunday market, cushions and tapestries the elders gifted you and what felt to him like hundreds of candles.
The house was always happier with a candle burning, cycling through vanilla and cinnamon, the scent clung to him when he attended council meetings and followed him to the small pub on the wharf, The Dog and Bildgesnipe, when he met with Thor.
Loki had started adding sticks of cinnamon to the fire in the evening too, unable to go without it regardless of if you were in the cottage or not. He loved the way you’d changed his home, fitting perfectly into the nooks and spaces of his heart and moulding new and interesting ways to live out of every vacant moment.
He watched you now, as you wrapped the ends of your sweater over your hands to protect them, standing at the window, watching the weather changing in the distance, the people passing and waving in the street.
The morning had started like any other, tangled in a mess of bare limbs and soft sheets, Loki had kissed you awake and you’d showered together, giggling in the steam without a care. After your shower you’d dressed first, leaving Loki to enjoy the hot water while you sought out your first coffee of the day.
As he watched, you sighed, leaning against the wooden window frame and raised your hand as Madam Gina walked past, the stooped old woman who had revealed so much of your life on that day at the end of November. Since then you’d seen her many times, mostly in the Long Hall where she took up residence on the sidelines, watching and smiling at the children playing or the business of the court. You liked it there too and had spent many happy afternoons since beside her, topping up her teacup whenever it got low.
Thankfully, there had been no more revelations and no more surprise visitors. Just the ebb and flow of life in Tonsberg as it should be, and Loki’s heart swelled to see you so settled. Everything was as it should be, he thought, ready for another day.
Tony ushered Steve into his office, checking the corridor before locking the door. Steve rolled his eyes, the entire office was empty at this hour, but he was glad Tony was at least taking their project seriously.
“Have you done it?” Steve went straight for the desk, bending across to pull all the paper together and leafing through. It was unlike Tony to do anything the ‘old fashioned way’, as he called it, but he was determined to keep this project a complete secret.,
“Of course I’ve done it, you’re a sceptic, Rogers, anyone ever tell you that?” He circled around the wide glass desk and dropped himself into his office chair.
“I just want to make sure it’s right, we don’t know what we’re messing with here.” He scanned the paper again, the strange symbols and pictures a blur.
“I’m sure, if we -” Tony snatched the papers back, searching for something, “if we - god fucking damnit this is why I hate paper - a ha!” With a flourish he pulled something from the bottom of the pile and slapped it onto the glass in front of Steve. “If we use this,” he tapped his fingers on a circling of runes, “we can keep him contained. I saw him in that castle, he could’ve used his magic and had her out in seconds, but instead he -” Tony made a motion over his throat with his thumb, “why would he make such a mess unless he had too?”
“Tony, the mans a lunatic, maybe he just likes killing?” Steve sighed, pulling another chair closer so he could sit and flick through the pages instead.
“I don’t disagree, that’s why I want to bring him in.” Tony took the page back, keeping it neatly to one side.
Steve rubbed a hand over his face and then looked out of the window. It had started to snow across the compound in the last few days, slushy grey drifts that made him think of Brooklyn in the 40s, churned up snowmen and bitter cold nights.
“What are you going to do with him, once he’s here?” He asked, his mind wandering to Bucky, currently safe on the sofa in his own apartment. Probably still mooning after Natasha, but at least he was safe. They’d locked him up too, and he was innocent, doubt crept into his consciousness but Tony was already answering.
“Lock him up, throw away the key?” Tony said, glibly .
“Tony,” Steve’s tone was firm, if they were arresting a man then they needed more of a plan than just locking him up.
“We put him on trial. Thor says he’s served time in Asgard and been ‘rehabilitated’, something about the Mind Stone and I don’t fucking buy it. He’s a liability and Thor won’t help us, went all Prince Charming with a sore head when I suggested it.”
Steve remembered Thor leaving, no one had heard from him since but he was fairly sure he was back in Norway. He wouldn’t leave the Asgardians for long.
“I remember. So, we put him on trial and then?” Steve trailed off, “put him in prison? What prison would even hold him?”
Tony’s eyes lit up, “And then we charge the Federal Bureau of Prisons a small fortune to keep him here! I love it Rogers, you’re starting to get it!”
“Tony.”
“Then we know we’re doing the right thing, okay, girl scout. He’s got that girl all wrapped around his fingers, who knows what awful, evil things he’s twisting into her mind. We get him, we get him on trial and then we get her back.”
“Fine.” Steve gave a heavy sigh, “When?”
“Tomorrow.”
“Do you know where he is?”
“Tonsberg, where else would he be,Thor said he was under Asgard’s protection.”
“Tomorrow, Tonsberg.”
“Just us though, don’t worry anyone else about it now.” Tony said, cryptically.
Steve scowled, he hated these backdoor deals, if he was doing them then so were a hundred other people and who knew what they were up to. But he had promised to keep Estrid safe and then she’d slipped away, been seduced by Loki and under his watch, kidnapped, attacked, vanished. Despite his doubts and fears about how Loki’s imprisonment might play out, he couldn’t leave a woman in such clear danger.
“Agreed, let’s get him locked up where he can’t hurt anyone anymore.”
“That’s the spirit, Rogers.” Tony grinned again and Steve’s stomach turned again.
—
Loki pulled his sweater on, abandoned on the back of the sofa the night before, and kept half an eye on you while he collected his own coffee from the kitchen island. On light steps he crept up to you and wrapped an arm around your waist.
“How’s the weather today, my Darling?” He sipped his coffee, looking down at you with that wistful smile he seemed to have permanently etched on his face.
“Cold, snowy,” anyone else may have looked miserable at prospect of a below freezing day on the unforgiving coast, but not you. No, Loki had noticed you were always happy to enjoy the changing season and everything they had to offer. Whether it was the bright sunshine he'd met you in, the crisp autumn leaves that coated the ground are his cabin, or now the blanket of snow that has been placed like a cosy blanket across the entire horizon. “We should go for a walk later, on the cliff tops, if it’s not too windy.” You suggested, finishing your coffee. You span in his arms, reaching up to tangle your fingers in his hair.
“That sounds wonderful, Asynja, I’ll try and get out of this council meeting early. In fact, would you like to attend? I believe we’re discussing the last preparations for the Solstice feast and Yule celebrations. I’m sure your new friends would enjoy your company while they weave the wreath.” He teased, kissing your forehead.
The elders of the village had taken quite a shine to you and you’d easily fallen into step with the other women, helping to prepare for the feast and giving advice on the decorations. In reality, you had no idea what was happening when they asked. It has come as a surprise that they not only allowed you to join them, but sought your input with genuine interest. Especially as you had barely celebrated anything while you lived as a mortal in London. There’d been no Yule, no Christmas. Nothing. But you were excited to share this first celebration with Loki.
“Leave my friends alone,” you chided playfully, “I’d love to come, let me just -”
You barely had to move to use your magic now, a simple flick of your fingers and you had summoned your boots and tights, a corduroy skirt and knitted jumper. Your coat and scarf were by the door. Although it was below freezing outside it didn’t seem to bother either of you, Loki never felt the cold and you were always able to conjure enough warmth in your hands to keep the Norwegian wind at bay.
“Are you ready?” You asked, skipping out of his grasp and opening the door, letting a swirl of snow in over the doorstep.
“Of course I am,” he answered, a wisp of his own magic dancing in the air as a duplicate called to you from down the street.
With a laugh you shut the door, chasing him down, your magic and laughter entwined with the softly falling snow.
Loki was right, the council meeting was no more than a decorators committee at this point in the month, but you both revelled in the feeling of being part of something more, something soft and warm that filled you with happiness just like the hot spiced wine and thick stew that was passed around at lunch time.
By the time Brunnhilde had called an ending to the proceedings it was already dark, the street light reflecting from the crisp snow and the moon illuminating the edges of the water.
“I guess we’re not going for that walk on the cliffs after all,” you grouched playfully, wrapping yourself around Loki’s arm as you walked side by side.
“As much as I’d enjoy having you all to myself in the dark of night,” Loki purred in return, freeing his arm just to wrap it around your waist, “I fear we have friends waiting.” He kissed the top of your head and you snuggled closer.
Loki led you from the Long Hall where the King held her council, and decoration, meetings to the lone pub in the village. Val had commiserated on the necessary building of some restaurants and a hotel on the edge of the village to accommodate the increasing number of tourists, but the pub remained solely for the Asgardians, their visitors, and no one else. You had a feeling there was some sort of spell or enchantment that made it invisible to the tourists that passed by the windows, but you’d never felt the need to ask when the welcome was always so warm for you.
At the entrance, Loki held the door for you, whisking away your coat in a flurry of magic and ice cold wind. Beyond the bar was already bustling with laughter and bodies, each hand raised in greeting as you both passed, some muttering “your highness” still, unable to lose their deference.
“Evening,” Loki shook hands politely with some and patted others on the shoulder, leading you to a booth by the window already occupied by Thor, beside him was a slender woman with dark brown hair and delicate features, tapping on a table and trying to show Thor something while he shuffled closer. Every time he moved, the woman moved away, just slightly, but you didn’t need to read their body language to know this was not a couple that’d last, you felt it deep inside, like an instinct.
Loki stopped and coughed loudly, “good evening, brother.” He smirked at Thor’s blush.
“Good evening, Loki.” Thor replied, stiffly, “good evening, Trouble.” He stood and crushed you into a hug, startling you out of your thoughts. “Let me introduce you to my-”
“Friend,” the woman interrupted, “Jane Foster, it’s lovely to meet you.” She smiled, shaking your hand, and scooched over enough to make space for you both on the bench seat. But as you looked at her, you could sense there was more. Images of her and Thor rose unbidden in your mind, and that golden thread of connection still hung between them, slack and dim, but still there in your mind’s eye. Interesting.
“I’m Estrid,” the name still didn’t feel right, and you’d suggested to some of the others they could use your old name as a sort of nickname, but it hadn’t stuck, not with Loki around.
“Princess Estrid,” he said, proudly, draping a protective arm around the back of the seat and rubbing his thumb against your shoulder.
“Well I sure Jane doesn’t care about all of that,” you smiled at her, and she smiled back, but before you could say anything else Thor had reached over the table and tapped a large finger on the wood.
“Doctor Jane, she’s a Doctor.”
“Yes, well, I’m sure Estrid doesn’t care about all that either,” she pushed his hand away, “I’m really pleased to meet you, Thor’s told me all about you and, well, I’ve got some experience with Asgardian nonsense too. It’s good to meet you, is what I was trying to say, and maybe I could read your electromagnetic impulses some time, if that’s okay?” Jane rushed her words out, the tablet clutched in one hand, her eyes twinkling with excitement.
“I don’t know about that,” Loki squeezed your shoulder.
“I’m sure it’ll be fine, Loki, don’t worry about it. I’d be happy for you to read my electromagnetic impulses, I think -”
The bar tender set down a tray of glasses, a tankard of ale for Thor, a glass of aged fifteen year old whiskey for Loki and a bottle of chilled white wine with two glasses.
“Loki, Thor,” the bartender nodded at them both, polite, but without the obsessive reverential treatment of the older Asgardians. “Princess,” you smiled back and thanked him.
“Doctor!” Thor tapped his finger again.
“My apologies, Doctor Foster,” he stammered, retreating to the bar.
“God he’s so embarrassing, I’m so sorry.” Jane turned to you, ignoring Thor’s aghast expression and opening the wine, “I’ll pour.”
Safe in the knowledge that you and Jane were perfectly able to handle yourselves, Thor and Loki took a polite turn around the bar, speaking with the villagers and their friends in turn.
After the first bottle, Brunnhilde appeared, signalling for the bartender for three more drinks and joining you and Jane in your booth.
“I don’t know how you both put up with those two.” She said, sliding into the seat, a bottle of wine in one hand and mead in the other.
You hadn’t realised how lovesick your sigh was until Brunnhilde laughed, shaking your shoulder, “sorry,” you blinked a few times, tearing yourself away from the sight of Loki half bent over a cards table a few feet away. His black jeans were pulled tight around the curve of his thighs and you just knew if he turned you’d be able to see the outline of every wonderful inch of him hidden beneath. He’d discarded his aran sweater when the fire had roared to life at the edge of the room, leaving him in a forest green shirt, rolled up to his elbows. As he moved you watched as the veins in his hands became more pronounced, gliding your gaze up to his broad shoulders and the black curls that fell over his face when he laughed.
It wasn’t just that he looked good enough to eat, he also looked happy, rested and content, his friends around him and purpose every day. He gave you purpose too, joining in the council activities and practising your magic.
“Hate to break it to you, B’, but I don’t put up with him anymore.” Jane said, sadly.
“What? I thought you two were-” you hesitated to elaborate and Jane took pity on you.
“We broke up, it just wasn’t working. But I’d already agreed to spend the Solstice and Yule here, so - maybe it was a stupid idea.”
“No, no-” Brunnhilde pulled her into a hug and it occurred to you that they probably already knew each other, if Thor had brought her here before. “You’re always welcome in Asgard.” The King winked and Jane blushed.
“I’m sorry - that things didn’t work - I didn’t mean,” you stammered acutely aware that this was now a reunion of friends and you knew nothing about them. “I can go, if you want to talk and catch up-”
“No, stay, please.” Jane smiled a lot, there was always something in the corner of her lips, wanting to be happy, but this smile was softer so you sat back down. “Now, tell me what it’s like having fire magic.”
The wine, beer and mead flowed freely in the tavern that night, every villager in their cups excited for the celebrations to come. At midnight you decided to head home, passing Loki on your way to the door, he slung an arm around your hips, pulling you to his side.
“I’m going to stay awhile, my darling, if you don’t mind,” he looked up at you from his cards table, his blue eyes like sparkling frost in the firelight, and you bent to kiss his quickly.
“I don’t mind, handsome, you stay.” You ran a hand through the errant curls that had formed in the warm atmosphere.
“Are you walking with someone?” Despite the many empty glasses spread across the table, he was still alert and concerned, scanning the pub for any danger. You both bore the memory of your kidnapping, a sense of fear when you were alone without anyone, despite being stronger now.
“B’ is going home too, Jane is staying in the rooms at the back, but Thor said he’d see me home if you wanted to stay.”
At the sound of his name Thor thundered towards you both, clapping a hand on your shoulder and giving you a little shake. You could almost feel the wine sloshing inside of you and you patted his fingers, hoping he’d stop.
“Fear not, brother, I can escort the maidens home.” Thor bowed theatrically, behind him Jane and Brunnhilde snorted with unrestrained laughter and you couldn’t help joining in.
“Very well, take care of my Asynja,” he tugged you down and kissed you again, the taste of whisky and honey dancing on his tongue as he deepened the kiss.
“That’s enough, either let her leave or walk her yourself.” Brunnhilde gave you a shove, waving behind her as Loki turned back to his game.
You were happy to let him stay, pleased to see he’d taken up new friendships since you’d both become so settled. You’d miss falling asleep next to him, but you knew he’d be home soon and you needed your bed immediately, your head was already swimming.
Jane left your party first, taking the steep steps at the back of the tavern to the rooms above. You’d offered her your spare room tomorrow, but tonight just thinking about removing your makeup and brushing your teeth seemed too much, making the spare bed was unimaginable.
The King took the side street behind the Long Hall, waving goodnight as you and Thor made your way to Loki’s cottage. You’d left a light on above the door and it illuminated the wreath you’d made and hung there earlier in the week.
Opening the door the soft scent of cinnamon and pine drifted into the crisp night and Thor once more embraced your arm.
“Estrid,” he looked down at you, suddenly very serious, even the way he said that name held a gravitas that gave you goosebumps.
“Yes?”
“Thank you,” he smiled, pulling you into a bear hug and squeezing you tight.
“What for?” You laughed, trying to squirm free.
“For making your home here, for trusting Loki and I. I have seldom seen him as happy as when he’s with you. I’m glad to have you here, Trouble.” He ruffled your hair playfully, his own drinking catching up to him. “May you be here for many more celebrations.”
“Well, thank you for welcoming me, Thor.” This time you lifted your arms and wrapped them around his neck, hugging him back, and he lifted you off the ground, shaking you from side to side until you were both crying with laughter. “I think -” you hiccuped, “I think we should both go to bed and sleep. Lots to do tomorrow.”
“Yes, yes,” he wiped a tear from his eye, “I must fight Loki tomorrow.”
“What?” In your bewilderment you couldn’t stop laughing.
“Oh not truly fight him. But we must pretend to fight, so I can beat winter and spring will come again. Have no fear, I shall return your beloved to you unharmed.” And with that he patted your back and wandered into the village, humming to himself. He tripped slightly on the decorations that had appeared along the harbour as you’d drunk. With a happy giggle he danced around the wreath and meandered back to his own home.
Across the harbour there was a flicker in the window of the now abandoned harbour master’s house and Steve sat back on his haunches.
“He hasn’t left that bar,” he groused, rubbing the arms of his stealth suit against the cold of the night. “But she seems safe, Thor is here as well.”
Next to him, Tony turned the heater of his suit up, “of course he is, I’ve never met a worse double agent in my life.”
“He’s hardly a double agent, he’s loyal to his brother, I can’t exactly blame him for not following orders.” He thought of his best friend, safely tucked up in the compound with his budding relationship with Natasha to distract him. He knew what it was to choose loyalty over command.
“Well, he’s not on our side. We just have to get him alone and then we can lock him up and forget about it.” Tony leant back on the creaking wicker chair.
“You said we'd do this properly.”
“Yes, yes, whatever you need to help you sleep at night Spangles.” Tony waved his hand, the gauntlet of his suit catching the faint light.
The little house had stood empty since the it’s two inhabitants had been arrested by the King of Asgard and her guards. It had been damp and cold enough before then, but now the frost lay thick on the inside, as well as the outside, of the small windows and Steve was jealous of Tony’s heating system, the soldier rubbed his hands together.
“Let's just be quick.”
“Wouldn't want you becoming a Capsicle again.”
Across the bay the tavern door opened again and a square of warm light cut across the black cobbles. In the doorway a familiar figure filled the space leaving a silhouette of his lean body dancing on the ground as he waved drunkenly behind him.
“Let’s go.” Steve ordered, pulling the dark cowl of his suit over his head.

Edit: All chapters up on Tumblr & ao3 :p
Okay, so I saaaaid 3 chapters. But like every good ending to a movie franchise, we going halfsies. ;P I will be dead honest, I have only seen the fist episode of FoP: ANW and have no desire to continue, because, as a 24 yo woman I should not feel this distraught about a cartoon. Also, I'm recalling things from the OG series by memory. So if things don't quite line up with canon or lore, just let me have the liberation that comes with fan fiction. Also, I know the show takes place ~20 years ahead, I like to think Timmy kept his fairies till he was 18 and so it has been 12 years since they have last been together.
Second Star To The Right And Straight On Home ⭐️ (Part 1)
Timmy had been working on this sales report for the first 3 hours of shift. His hands were cramping as his eyes strained at the screen. Maybe he needed glasses? Definitely needed to start taking magnesium supplements. Was he really getting that old? It wasn’t like he had done much in his life to feel old at 30. That was another thought, he hadn’t done much of anything. He’d been at this job for nearly three years, maybe a handful of failed dates, and spent his free time napping on the couch after eating room temperature pizza.
What am I doing?
Introspection always vined its way like poison ivy through the ridges of his brain when left with his own thoughts.
I need fresh air, maybe take a walk, go grab a drink this weekend, anything to break up the monotony.
Monotony: he never used that word. The world was starting to bleed into the black and white screen he worked with, smearing into something gray. This was torture, working under florescents when there was real sunlight. His cubicle was near the back of the office and closest to the windows. It magnified his gloominess by teasing the bright colors of the outside. He frequently cast glances to see streams of sun peeking through tree leaves. Most times, there was a finch sized bird sitting on the closer branches. Timmy noticed it the first time when, strangely, he was feeling watched. Or maybe he was desperate for attention.
Lately, when he’d go to check on the little bird, it was missing, leaving him discontent. It was a strange color, akin to lavender or periwinkle. No amount of Google searches revealed the species. It wasn’t uncommon for Cosmo and Wanda to take animal forms. Green and pink dogs were definitely harder to explain. There were no strange looks when they were pins on his backpack or-
Wait.
Timmy’s brows furrow and he moves his hands to grip the arms of his chair, sitting up straighter. Though he was looking outside, all focus was on whatever was unfurling in his head.
Cosmo and Wanda .... did I ever have dogs? No. Definitely not a green one. I had fish, it's a wonder they stayed alive for so long.
Why did he think of those names? Why could he picture personified versions of everyday objects? Always the same color. Green and pink. Pink and green. Because he knew them. He knew they weren't pins on a backpack or an .... umbrella?
They were my fish. Right? But they were also people. No, that’s not quite right either.
They were his fairies. And he remembers skydiving. He’s never been skydiving. But how does he know the sting of wind on his face? And why was his parachute talking? Timmy nearly knocks over his chair as he gets to his feet, heart rate increasing like the one and only time he went to the gym. A co-worker catches the sudden movement, sensing a source of panic.
“Yo, Turner, you good man?”
Timmy barely registers the words and makes a noise in the back of his throat as a reply.
“I’vegottogo.” He tumbles out, snatching his car keys and phone from beneath the desk.
He has to find that fishbowl.
💫💫💫
The house had been shut up since his parents left on their yearlong Winnebago journey. Outside of Facebook posts and a few messages he rarely spoke to them. They were never really the attentive type. At least not to their son. Timmy has a hard time getting the door open. Images and dialogue clog up his concentration. It’s like their occurring in the moment and yet he’s recalling them from the past at the same time
Wishing for Christmas every day? Really immature Timmy.
‘We’re two halves of a whole idiot!’
Wanting to be a girl for the day was a bad idea from the start. What was I thinking? Even if Trixie Tang was hot. Wanda did warn me though.
'This bike stinks. I need one that’s cool as I am!’ 'This bike is as cool as you are!’
'Did I really wish to be in the internet? Oh dear God I’m so happy it wasn’t the modern-day web.
'And here's Wanda with the news: Vicky 's going to kill you when she finds out what you're up to!’
His head pounds from the jumbled jargon he once knew as it takes meaning again. No wonder he felt so bored with his life now. He had fairies and dumb wishes with dumb, sometimes disastrous outcomes as a kid. Cosmo and Wanda were his fairies! There was a whole world of fairies, anti-fairies, and pixies and magic! And there was a whole book of rules, all of them he sees himself breaking. As well as being the source of new ones.
When the keys finally make it into the doorknob and he throws it open, not bothering to retrieve them or close the door. After he had moved out, his parents didn't do anything with his stuff. Just shoved boxes and the miscellaneous in as they needed. Everything was mostly in the same spot. Including the fishbowl.
It was right where it should be on his nightstand. Timmy went to reach for it but pulled back, staring intently. Dust had covered the glass surface, and he was afraid that disturbing any of it might cease the onslaught of memories. He wanted these memories, he wanted to know his life hadn’t been useless. That there were people who wanted the best for him and didn’t abandon him when there was a stupid decision to be made. Knowing that two tiny fairies said they cared for him.
His heart was pulsing hot bolts of pain at the thought of having lost them in the first place. At wondering why his god-parents left him and where they were now.
After a long moment, he tentatively reached out, bringing it closer, letting clips of childhood reflect off the glass. It was barely big enough for one guppy, much less three goldfish. Three. There had been three.
There was no cringe or embarrassment attached to this wish. In fact he remembered being the happiest he’d ever been in his life. It has been him and his god-parents for a long time, and he never thought it could get better. It was an overwhelming feeling of love that encompassed past and present. Cosmo and Wanda for once hadn’t warned him of the repercussions, despite them being epoch-making; they all knew it was so worth it.
Sadness has such a way of tainting things. It crept unnoticed as another memory took place. It was in this room. He felt a tight squeeze around his arm and saw Cosmo’s face pressed into his shoulder, muffling sobs, his dramatics matching the situation for once. A light kiss pressed itself into his temple as Wanda patted down his hair. Tiny hands pulled at his shirt and tears stained more than his clothes. Then there was nothing. Like it was all a dream that faded with the night and the sun was rising a now dull dawn.
Timmy rubbed at the dust with his thumb, smearing a tear across it. He remembered the third one. His voice choked on something bitter as he saw through the eyes of his younger self, hugging the baby fairy when it all went away.
“Oh Poof, I - I’m so sorry.”
“Don’t be. And it’s Peri now.”
💫 💫 💫
Was that really the first thing to say after 12 years? The strain in his own voice prevented what Peri thought might be condescending. Call it intuition or an inference, but he knew Timmy would come back here. After Dev granted his wish, he sat there dumb struck until the kid asked him what happened next. Peri had pictured the reunion with so many different outcomes that, for a moment, he was scared of ‘next.’ Timmy was all the way back in Dimmesdale, across the country, though that was no problem with a little magic. Magic however, could be independent if left without clear boundaries. Peri had no idea how this wish would work out. Would it be instant? Would it come back in pieces? Would it work at all? He was sure he found a loop-hole. He could recall several times his magic went against Da Rules without the intention, and as dangerous as it was, this was his fail safe.
This was Peri’s first time shapeshifting into his human form that was not directly from his normal one. His little finch self has flown through the cracked window, its symbolism lost on him. A human body felt clumsy, but it seemed like the right choice. What if he hadn’t remembered they were fairies yet? Granted, he was still trying to figure out the wings and crown, it was difficult to hide the markers of his true self.
It would not have mattered if Poof appeared as a fairy or disguised as human, Timmy could see Cosmo and Wanda in him. He had just been a year or two out of his beach-ball stage when Timmy had turned 18, and the then young kid was already resembling his parents. Now, Timmy was struck with the resemblance to his god-parents. His little Poof had Cosmo’s smile and Wanda’s hair, but his eyes were uniquely his own and easily the most identifiable. Timmy had seen those lavender eyes glitter as they first took in the world. He hated anyone or anything that turned those eyes into blank spaces all this time.
Peri might not have been going by his government name, but he made a noise akin to it when Timmy pounced on him. Petite as he was, something he got from his father (well, before retirement), he felt enveloped by the embrace. Even as a human, Peri was slight and though Timmy was no body-builder, he wasn’t a teenager anymore. The differences didn’t register as he felt the warmth of Timmy’s near crushing hold. His body recalled the last time they were like this, when it was goodbye. As his mind caught up to the haptic memory, the contrast between then and now made him break.
My brother remembers!
Relief was meant to be calming, coming out from a storm unharmed, but for them it was a tsunami. For all the bravado and charisma he showcased, over a decade of longing revealed itself. Timmy wasn’t much taller but it was enough so he could hide his face in his brother’s neck, for once not holding back the tears. He felt the human’s cheek press against the side of his head and it was the most contact either had in a time they had stopped counting. Timmy couldn’t believe this, he never wanted to let go, never wanted to forget a single second of this. How could any magic replace this?
The moment could not bridge the years apart had they stayed this way for twice as long. Timmy had to force himself to push Peri back by his shoulders, one hand staying there and the other pressed against the back of his head to get a better look. If he still had them, he’d wish for the tears to stop so he could see properly.
“Oh my God. Poof, look at you! You grew up! How-how could I have missed this?” He hiccuped.
Peri didn’t bother to correct him, the name was childish but they had both been children when Timmy named him and if anyone had a pass to say it, it was his big brother. The fairy took a shaky breath, attempting to blink away the kaleidoscopic effect of tears.
“Like -,” he has to step back, letting both of Timmy’s hands rest on his shoulders, or he might never stop crying, “Like I said, don’t be sorry.” He smiled pitifully. They could fix it now
“We used to watch - oh what was that show? Sleazy and Cheezy! And you about got me killed!” He laughed, wanting to recall as much as possible
“And - and remember the time mom was so mad because you were teaching me to shape shift!”
“Tree and bee do sound the same!”
“Okay but, you definitely stretched it with the bird and rocket mix up!”
“Hey, I wasn’t gonna let you take the fall. You were already falling in on our roof.”
Reluctantly, Timmy let go of Peri’s narrow shoulders, the euphoria bottoming out. Peri saw the dimming of blue eyes, and an intense anxiety struck him. This time he was the one reaching out.
“What’s wrong?
Timmy pulls away and moved to sit on the edge of his bed. A musty smell arose as the sheets crinkled under the weight. Peri watched as a perturbed look took form.
“Why?” He finally says.
“What do you mean ‘why’?”
“I grew up, they wiped my brain. You could have lived eternity and forgotten about me.”
Peri had a lightning-like shot of anger, “I could never forget about you. None of us could.”
Timmy scoffed, “You’re telling me that immortal fairies, who have had countless god-kids throughout the centuries, would find me so important?”
The fairy clenches his fist, stomping over to force the human to look at him. "You have no idea how hard they fought for you. Or how much of a hole you left for us. They haven't had a god-kid since you.”
“Really?” He concedes. It dissipates into something bitter and selfish when he sees Peri’s resolve falter.
“Well -
“I figured as much.”
“No, you don’t understand.” He says the harshness leaving, replaced with empathy. He sits down next to Timmy. It was very recent. And I was mad and couldn’t understand either, after all we went through.”
“Thanks.” He says flatley.
“Will you just listen to me? When they met Hazel, they said it felt different from their time with you. Because they realized you meant more than being their god-kid. That it was the same feeling they have with me.”
They think of me like their son?
Timmy wills himself not to let go of another tear, but it has been an emotional day and having half your life re-written can be a little overwhelming.
“Do they know, that, well, that I know ? ”
Peri grins, a bit of debonair sneaking in, “Would you like to tell them?”
He thinks of the first time he met his god-parents, at 10 it never crossed his mind to be skeptical because, hey, unlimited wishes. Now that he’s older, he realizes all the lessons he learned from them. And how he could get away with so much more with Cosmo and how Wanda would nag him like a mother. They were more his parents than his biological ones.
Timmy bumps his shoulder with Peri’s, “You realize we probably are going to be crying again?”
“No doubt. Family reunions can be emotional.” He says with a curt nod, now wearing a full smile.
Family. His family.
“I gatta ask though, did you say your name was Peri?”

hello! First of all i enjoy your writing alot! Can u write an imagine/headcanons of Malleus, Riddle and ruggie (seperatly) with a Fem! Reader who's obsessed with shopping and drags them excitedly to the mall? Reader has them trying on outfits like a silly fashion show and etc! And can u make them and the reader in a relationship already? Thank you i hope you're doing well! 💗💗
Because you only requested three characters, I am making the scenarios longer.
Riddle Rosehearts
He just can’t find it in himself to say no to you when you ask him with puppy dog eyes if you two could go to the mall on the weekend. Plus, Trey and Cater pointed out that you had been following each of the Queen’s rules as well as maintaining a good grade in all of your classes, and thus deserved a break like this.
So it was a date that the Housewarden found himself very excited for. It wasn’t everyday that he got to take his girlfriend off of campus and go do something she liked to do, so this was a once-in-a-while opportunity. The town wasn’t far away from NRC either; just at the bottom of the mountain that NRC was built upon. Thus you wouldn’t waste a bunch of time commuting.
When Saturday rolled around, he heard a knock on his dorm room as he was getting ready. He opened the door to see you in a casual outfit, ready to head out. He was ready too, and he made sure that he had his wallet before leaving. As you both exited the Heartslabyul doors, he yelled out to Trey that he would be in charge while he was away with you. You took him by the hand as you dragged him to the bus that was taking students down the mountain.
During the bus ride, he was looking up some of the stores that were within the mall. You were peering over his shoulder as you made an effective plan on the places you were going to visit, since you were aware that Riddle preferred to have this kind of thing organized. You then pressed a kiss to his cheek and thanked him for agreeing to come with you, and he just had a dopey grin as his mind went completely empty.
Within the mall, you just let out a gasp as you looked at the huge building. You turned to look at Riddle and he asked you where you wanted to head to first. You pointed to a nearby clothing store that had a dress in the window that looked super cute, and he took your hand in his before leading you inside. You took him to the dressing rooms after choosing a few different outfits, and you asked which ones he liked more. There were a few that exposed a bit more skin than he was comfortable with, so he was definitely flustered for a few minutes.
The next store was actually a men’s store, so he was kind of confused as to why you chose to go there. You said that he needed a few more outfits and maybe even a few matching ones like you had so that people could tell that you were a couple. You picked a few that you thought he would like and you had him go try them on. You sat outside of the changing rooms, scrolling through some of your friends’ Magicam posts when your boyfriend called your name.
You looked up and saw that he was wearing some black pants, a white button up, and a red sweater over it. You stood and walked over to him to adjust his collar, and as you were doing that he asked if he looked alright. You gave him a kiss on the lips as you stated that it looked great, and you asked if he felt comfortable as he was the one wearing it. He nodded his head, so you went to the cashier to purchase the clothes before making your way to the next store.
Ruggie Bucchi
The only concern he has is how much money he’s going to be spending, but you told him that you had been working at the Mostro Lounge to save up money for this, and that Leona offered to loan some money as well (totally not because you threatened to wake him up with ice cold water every morning and drag him by the tail to classes if he didn’t). So, he was pretty excited to go with you.
As the days ticked by, the hyena was getting more and more excited. Honestly, it was annoying to the Savanaclaw Housewarden because Ruggie kept messing things up because he wasn’t paying attention to what he was doing. You weren’t in a very different state, considering it was the first time in a while where you were able to go on a proper date with your hard working boyfriend.
When Saturday arrived, he was super happy. He got ready in just five minutes before he ran to your dorm, where you were about to head to Savanaclaw. After laughing at the coincidence, Ruggie took your hand in his and pulled you to the bus that was taking students to the village at the bottom of the mountain. Because it was 9 in the morning, it was a bit chilly, so you squeezed his hand because it was warm.
If we’re being honest, this trip was a spontaneous thing that you wanted, so he was just going to be following you around. He listened intently as you went on about some of the stores you saw online and how you wanted to visit as many stores as possible. His tail was definitely wagging in pure happiness at just being able to be with you when he’s been so busy lately.
Anyways, he wasn’t surprised when you spotted a really cute outfit in one of the shops’ windows and dragged him in. He would be the kind to look at different articles of clothing and hold them up to you, trying to picture an entire outfit. You brought the right guy for the job, as he’s done this before a few times but in thrift stores. Actually, he had a pretty decent sense of style, and you saw that in the outfit he came with you in.
After you got some food at the food court, you spotted a store that you wanted to go into. Ruggie was just going to follow you without a word, but he noticed that it was for men’s apparel. He, too, was very confused as to why you wanted to go in there, and you said that you wanted to buy him an outfit that matched the one you had purchased from one of the prior stores. The entire idea was absolutely adorable, and so he went to try on the clothes.
A few moments later, he emerged from the changing room in a light orange hoodie with some distressed jeans. You chose the hoodie because 1) you could steal it when Ruggie wore it enough so that it smelled like him and 2) it matched a dress you got earlier. He asked if you chose the hoodie to steal it, and you just shushed him jokingly as you hugged him. The hyena started laughing before wrapping his arms around you in return.
Malleus Draconia
This man was so happy when you asked him if he would go to the mall with you on the weekend, because he never gets invited to anything. Plus, a date with his beloved sounds absolutely amazing, so he asked Lilia if he could go. The bat fae was definitely very excited, so he cleared Malleus’s schedule as well as informed the other two knights that he would not need a security detail for a simple date. Sebek was kind of hysterical, but this isn’t about him.
He could have very well manipulated time and made it move faster, but he knew that patience was rewarded. The entirety of Diasomnia could sense the pure joy radiating from the dragon fae, and did their best to make sure that no one or no thing got in the way of his good mood. He, however, didn’t notice because the only thing he paid attention to was the way you were also beaming about your date.
Malleus had to admit to his retainers as well as his guardian that he had no idea what to wear to something as casual as a date to the mall. All of his clothing was either for school, or for more formal occasions. He opted on some black dress pants as well as a white button-up and some comfortable dress shoes, and he grabbed the flowers he purchased before and showed up at Ramshackle. The gesture made you a bit flustered, but you put the bouquet in a vase of water and took his hand in yours and led him to the bus.
During the ride to the bottom of the mountain, he asked you why you wanted to go on the vehicle rather than just allow him to teleport you there. You told him that you knew that as a royal member, he might not have had experience with the life of an ‘ordinary commoner’ and thus wanted to provide that perspective. He then said that you were not an ordinary commoner, but rather the princess to his prince.
You made a joking comment that he looked like your sugar daddy instead of your boyfriend, especially since he insisted that he pays for everything you wanted while you were there. He didn’t get it, but it didn’t matter. Then, you spotted a dress that looked so cute, and Malleus waited outside of the dressing room. He thought it looked absolutely beautiful on you when you came out and gave him a bit of a twirl. This guy has a whole other way of testing out the length of dresses. He will dip you down and kiss you in front of everyone to see where it raises on your leg. So that’s what he did, and he seemed satisfied with the modesty of the length.
Anyways, you brought him to the food court so that the two of you could get a bite to eat. He made you laugh by saying that he preferred the fast food over Lilia’s cooking, and he was practically inhaling his food. Once you were finished, you started walking through the mall when you spotted a men’s store. Your prince here was kind of confused as to why you wanted to go in there, and you said that he needed some casual outfits and you dragged him into the shop.
There, you immediately spotted some black ripped jeans as well as a few muscle t-shirts and hoodies that you had him try on. He admitted that he did like how the shirts outlined his muscles so that he could impress you a tad more. Also, the clothes were a lot more comfortable than the formal things he typically wears, so he purchased them and walked out wearing them. All in all, you both considered this date successful.

Erling Haaland x Reader - The Confession Part 2/2
+18
Again, thank you @ruben-dias for the gif
Part 1
Summary - Erling has had a crush on Reader for a long time, but Reader is clueless about it since she never thought a guy like him could like a girl like her. Nevertheless, the truth unfolds when Erling gives Reader a ride home after a lake party with their friends.
Enjoy!
It was a sad sight to see Erling moping around like he did. Especially when you were the cause of his foul mood. Nevertheless, you knew how to make things right.
"Erling?"
You had been working up the courage to ask him for a ride home from the lake. It was a foolish plan indeed, but if you could get him alone, just the two of you, maybe then you could let him down easily.
"Hey." You blushed as you walked up to where he stood by his car.
"What do you want?" He muttered.
"A ride, actually."
"A what?"
"Nicole's car is full, and Tim....Well I haven't asked him. But maybe I..."
"No." Erling exclaimed.
You fell back two steps, quite surprised by his reaction.
"I mean, yes." He coughed. "You can ride with me, if you want?"
"Thanks."
You helped Erling pack up the rest of the stuff that would go in his car. The two of you were the last people to leave the parking lot, trailing the other cars in front of you.
"So..." He sighed.
"So?" You shrugged.
The awkward silence that lingered was unbearable. It was easier to converse in a group, but other than your friends, the two of you seemed to have nothing in common.
"How's life going?"
"Excuse me?"
It was almost laughable, how awkward it was. If it wasn't for the radio playing the latest hits, you might have considered throwing yourself out of the car.
"What? It's just a question." Erling said, seeing as you had begun to laugh uncontrollably.
"Yeah but, what kind of question is that?"
"A normal one, I'd say."
"Erling, we hang out like everyday, you know how my life is going."
"Yes, but we never hang out alone. And even around everyone you never talk about yourself."
"I beg to differ."
"You don't. Otherwise I would've known that you don't eat meat."
He mumbled the last part and you felt a tad guilty.
"Look, Erling…"
"It's okay." He chuckled. "I should have known that you don't eat meat, or that you can't swim."
"Hold up." You flinched at the last part. "Who told you that I can't swim?"
"Can you?"
"Yes. Yes I can, and you assuming that I can't is really…" You caught yourself getting rallied up, however now was not the time. "Look, Erling." You sighed. "About the hot dogs…"
He rolled his eyes. "It would be nice if we could just forget about that."
"I agree. I think that there's a few things that we should forget about."
"Like?"
"Like…you being into me."
Erlings eyes left the road.
"Nicole told me."
"I'm surprised it wasn't Tim."
"Tim knows?"
"Everyone's knows." He chuckled.
You shook your head, "Since when have you liked me?"
"Erm...since the day I met you."
You were quite lost for words. You never knew Erling to be so open about his feelings. To you he had been just another guy, dreaming about playing football. Perhaps there was more to him than you thought.
"When you and Nicole first started hanging out," Erling said, hands steady on the wheeI, occasionally glancing your way. "I would ask her about you, what you're like and so on."
"Really? That's so sweet of you. But why didn't you just ask me yourself?"
He shrugged, "Believe it or not Y/N, I'm not really great at talking to girls."
"You know what...." You nodded. "I believe you."
He nudged you with his elbow, seeing the smile on your face. The car fell silent after that, the road passing you by. You still hadn't set things straight with Erling, but after seeing another side of him you became curious.
"There's another lake around here somewhere, no?" You turned your head to look out the window. "A smaller one?"
"Yeah, it's literally called, little lake." Erling said.
"Could we maybe go there?"
"Right now?" He frowned.
"Yes."
It was an odd request coming from you. But a smaller lake meant that the sun heated up the water faster. And unlike what everyone thought, you did enjoy going for a swim. And with the sun set low in the sky it was the perfect condition for a quick dip.
"Did you even bring any swimwear?" Erling questioned. He had broken out of the group, taking his car off the road and driving towards Little Lake. The water was still when you arrived and to Erling's surprise you stripped yourself of your clothes and waded out in the water in only your underwear.
"Are you coming or are you just gonna stand there and watch me?" You said.
Erling needed no other conformation. He was tugging his shirt over his head and running out to catch up with you. The two of you dove into the water and swam around the deep end until the sun disappeared behind the forest trees.
"We should head back." You said, afraid that you'd eventually get too tired to make it back to shore. Erling must have noticed this, because he pulled you towards him and raised you above the water by carrying you in his arms.
"God, you're tall." You smiled. "Tall people never drown."
"Is that so?" He chuckled and carried you back to the beach, refusing to let you walk on your own two feet until you reached his car.
"I don't want this night to end." You found yourself saying. You also found yourself tucking hair behind Erling ear as a strand looked to have bothered his eyes.
"It's gonna get dark soon." He said.
"Yes, but I still don't want this night with you to end."
"Perhaps we could get some food? How about hot dogs?"
You smiled. "I think I have a better idea."
You stepped up to him, placing your hands on his damped torso. His muscles flinched below the palm of your hands as Erling kept his eyes on you.
"Are you sure?" He asked, before you even puckered up to kiss him.
"Yes." You nodded. "I'm sure."
"Again, it was all the confirmation he needed to lean down and capture your lips. All he needed was the confession that you liked him back.
What followed was a hot minute of making out, your mouths devouring each other until the desperate gasp for air. Erling then led you to his car, the back of it, so that you could lay down across the passenger seat.
You bit your lip as his cold fingertips slid your panites down your legs. His hands then went under your knees, pulling your hips to meet his face that tucked into the car as he bent down to lick you clean.
"Fuck." You gasped, a hand running through his hair. "Yes Erling, right there."
His tongue found its way to pleasure you in all the right places. And he kept at it as if the need to make you come was his mission in life.
"Please." You squirmed, wanting him to stop before it happened. "I need you."
"I need you to." Erling grunted, his hand reaching for your breast under your bra.
"No, Erling." You gasped, eyes squinting as he squeezed your nipple. "I need you, inside of me, now."
He raised his head to look at you, his lips plump from sucking your clit.
"Please." You said, to which he stood, hands tugging down his swimming trunks. He was already hard and big, bigger than you thought. He rushed to retrieve a condom out of his glove compartment, dressing his dick with the rubber. Once it was on he placed himself between your thighs and slid inside of you to the sound of you moaning his name. It was perfect, he was perfect. What a way to end the night. With a swim around a lake and a potentially new boyfriend.
The End

Connor and Nines x (Fem pronouns)reader
=================>
Your life had truly changed.
In the beginning, everything was pretty simple. You stayed in your apartment, did some work, went out and got grocery's, looked in alarm at the anti-android activists pushing some poor soul to the ground, and taking Cosmo for a walk!
Very simple.
Then the revolution happened. And everything you had known went out the window.
Androids came out as a race of people, and demanded rights. There were riots in the streets. You holed up in your home, watching with bated breath as the androids protested peacefully in the streets. Eventually, the two apparent leaders kissed each other and declared their feelings to the entire world. It made you sob like a baby.
This worked to stop the war, and Androids were granted certain freedoms.
But one thing hadn't changed.
The riots.
All day every day, riots from both sides would block streets. You just wanted to go to your favorite paint store and people were demanding androids be decommissioned.
On this certain day, you were out with your golden retriever Cosmo. She was the best girl, and kept you company on your lonely rainy days. You had one human best friend, but she lived all the way in Seattle. You both would call almost religiously everyday, but this had turned you into a but homebody.
You were walking in the park of Detroit, a cloudy fall day blowing gusts of cold air into your hair, whipping it into your cheek. And getting stuck in your lipstick. Great.
You were busy brushing your hair out of your face when you heard a man yelling.
You immediately stopped and looked around your face covered in hair, trying to tell where the sound was coming from. It sounded different from usual yell of protesters, and you were in a secluded area of the park you were at, meaning there weren't to many people.
Getting scared because of being surrounding by trees and unable to see your surroundings fully, you pulled out your pepper spray and grabbed on tight to Cosmos leash.
The bushes rustled, and you jumped in the direction, holding your pepper spray out and turning and closing your eyes.
You stood for a few seconds, waiting to hear the yelp of a man or something, but got no such sound.
But you heard sniffing.
Opening your eyes and looking down in confusion, you saw a huge dog sniffing Cosmos nose. The dogs snorted in happiness, and Cosmo returned the kindness by licking his ear. You saw their tails wagging, and awed in cuteness, before also noticing the big dog had a loose leash laying on the ground. You gently kneeled down to pick it up, but the dog immediately noticed.
He then pounced.
Landing on top of you, the huge Bernard send you backwards into the grass. You tensed up, but you were met with lots of kisses from the dog. You opened your eyes and giggled, dropping the pepper spray and petting the good boy. You had Cosmos leash wrapped around your wrist, and the golden came up to start licking your arm to join the fun.
You laughed in joy, loving the attention, before hearing the yelling come closer. You stopped petting the big pup and glanced around. The dog licked your arm, continuing to give you kisses, acting unconcerned at the shouts.
"SUMO" a faint voice cried, making you realize you forgot to check the dogs collar. You huffed and shuffled around the leashes to reach under the dogs scruff to see his name tag. You read the name and message under your breath
'Sumo'
'Hey dumbass, give me my dog back'
Below it, a phone number.
You chuckled at the message, before hearing another cry of the dogs name. You realized his owner might be looking for him, and decided to help out.
"Over here!" You called, realizing you were still sitting on the ground. But alas, you remembered to late, and the bushes pushed apart, revealing the literal most handsome man you had ever seen.
Your breath stopped as you stared at the mans sharp jaw and nose, before moving down to his pink lips. Your eyes darted up to his eyes, and you gasped as you saw the honey brown circles staring into yours.
He stopped momentarily, inspecting your position before hurrying over to you and the dogs. He started rambling, grabbing the dogs leash and holding his other hand out to you.
"I'm so sorry ma'am, he didn't hurt you did he?"
You stared at the guy in shock, before taking his hand quickly and standing up. You noticed he had a nice build, standing above you at a pleasant height. You stared a little longer than you should have, before clearing your throat to answer him in a small voice. You brushed your hair out of your face to make it look presentable and said simply
"No No he didn't hurt me. He actually gave me a lot of kisses."
You chuckled and rubbed your arms, eyes going wide as you felt the dog spit all over it.
Imagine how your face looked.
The man nodded, before holding his hand out stiffly. You stared at it in confusion, before realizing he was probably trying to shake hands. You dumbly wiped your palm on your patterned flower jeans and gently shook his surprisingly cold hand.
"My name is Connor, I'm.." He stopped himself, gulping before continuing "its nice to meet you miss..?" He tilted his head, smiling softly at your flustered expression.
"Miss Y/n" You said, using your first name. Connor nodded and grinned again, before you both seemingly started staring at one another, gently holding hands.
A rustle broke out from the bushes, and you jumped, dropping Connors hand, briefly seeing a sad look overcome his features.
But you were more concerned with the identical twin of him that just emerged almost silently from the trees.
"Hello" The twin said smoothly, giving you a once over, piercing you with ocean eyes.
"I see you found the animal" He nodded to Connor, who was holding a leash and looking in surprise. You looked back and forth between the two as they silently stared at each other. It was almost like they were reading each others thoughts. Could twins do that?
You wouldn't know, being an only child and all.
"The 'animal' has a name Nines" Connor responded, before turning back to you.
What kind of name was nines you wondered? That sounds like a name and androi....
Ohhhhhh
You looked between Connor and this new guy, noticing their almost perfect complexations. Connor had a beanie on, and it had shifted, confirming your suspicions.
He had an LED.
You looked away it shock, a little frightened how you didn't notice at first. Not because they were made so well, but because of how handsome both of them were.
Glancing up you noticed Connor glaring at his twin, shooting him a dirty look.
The taller android rolled his eyes before walking up to you and holding out a hand, somehow even more stiffly than Connor had done.
"I'm Nines, the newest Rk unit." He grinned slyly, before shaking your hand. His smug expression turned into a grimace when he felt slobber on your fingers, and you stood in shock as he took a handkerchief from his breast pocket and wiped his hands.
You felt slightly offended.
You brushed it off, your hands were pretty dirty with dog spit.
"I'm Y/n, nice to meet you." You nodded, smiling. You felt a tug on the leash you were holding and you looked down, seeing Cosmo and Sumo playing with each other. You giggled and watched them, before feeling eyes on you. Peering up, you noticed both android looking at you with odd expressions.
Oh well.
Connor caught your attention and smiled "What's your dogs name?" He asked softly, making you swoon.
You tried not to get carried away. He was a perfect handsome android who probably was just being nice and had a pretty android girlfriend. You cleared your throat, before putting on your best smile and responding.
"This is Cosmo, she's 3" You laughed as Cosmo put Sumo's ear in her mouth and paw at his face. Connor looked down and chuckled softly with you, but you noticed a very unimpressed harrumph come from next to you.
You glanced at the other android, and noticed him rolling his eyes at the dogs antics. He cleared his throat and you and Connor stared at him.
"As 'cute' as this was, we should get going." he said, giving you one more onceover, before turning his heel and leaving the little clearing.
You tilted your head at where he had gone, before turning to see a depressed looking Connor. The android started after his twin, before turning and winking at you.
"I sent you my contact information!" He yelled, before jogging up to Nines, Sumo barking after him. You stood in shock, the ordeal ending so quickly.
Pulling out your phone, you looked and saw that a new contact had been made, named Connor with a smiley face. A text had been sent to you, and reading it made you smile.
"Puppy play date soon! Nice to meet you :)"
You tucked your phone away, before continuing on your walk.
Not knowing that one moment would change your entire life.
To be continued....
================<
Hope you enjoyed! This was more of a meet cute, but it will pick up in the next chapters to come.

Not beta read
My shelter
Life in Laredo was fine.
Javier had his father, his health, plenty of things to do around the ranch to keep him occupied. It was also a plus that he wasn’t being shot at everyday.
It was fine.
He tries not to seem ungrateful for his life, especially in front of his dad. He always worked so hard to provide for him and his mother. He was so proud, telling everyone in town his son was going to take down Pablo Escobar.
He didn't miss the way people treated him when he moved back home. He was not a celebrity, nothing special…just doing his job. At least that’s how he felt. Now everyday was the same, get up at the crack of dawn, feed the animals, have breakfast with his pops,do whatever project was assigned so that he could feel useful, have dinner and go to sleep.
Sleep wasn’t usually easy to come by these days.
Rinse and repeat, day in and day out.
Tonight is going to be one of those sleepless nights. He’s been nervous all day, smoking more than he’d care to admit. None of his daily tasks seemed to quell the oncoming anxiety. His dad is making dinner and even that is setting him on edge. The clinking of the plates, the scraping of the pan.
Chuchos has been treating him like a scared animal in a cage all day and he wants to tell him to lay off but he can’t.
“I think you need a companion.”
“What!”Javi looks up from his plate at his dad.
“Ms. Valencia said that could help with ptsd.” Chucho scrapes the remaining carnitas onto Javier’s plate even though he had said he was done.
“Listen pops, I don’t really need Ms. Valencia’s advice on ptsd or help finding a companion right now.”
Chucho sighs and looks down at his plate, moving the food around with his fork. “I mean…like a dog or something. I’m not trying to play matchmaker.”
Javier points toward the window. “I have plenty of animals to keep my company.”
His dad laughs, easing some of the tension of the conversation. “Well son they can’t come inside or go on walks. It was just an idea.”
“Thanks but I’ll be fine with the cows. You’ve been… spending a lot of time with Ms. Valencia.”
“Don’t change the subject Javier.” He stands to grab his plate but Javi ushers him to sit and heads to the sink to start the dishes. “Thanks for doing those son…I’m gonna head out, don’t wait up for me.”
Javi smirks as his dad throws on his coat and fixes his hair in the reflection of the toaster.
“You kids be safe.” Chucho waves him off before closing the back door.
****
After another long sleepless night, Javi decided to head into town. He was just going to the market to pick up a few things for dinner and stop by the hardware store for longer screws to fix the fence so the cows would stop getting out.
He’s driven by it dozens of times, somehow he’s never had a reason to go inside. He really shouldn’t go inside. He’ll never hear the end of it from Chucho. Laredo Animal Protective Society free adoptions. Maybe he’ll just go in and look.
There’s a few dogs playing in the small yard next to the building, all happily wagging their tails as they follow him along the fence. He can’t imagine how there's any dogs here at all with how cute they all look. He’s not even inside and he’s already a goner.
****
The bell chimes at the front door and you have to cease petting the senior cat October or Tobi for short. Despite it being free adoption day, you didn’t have very many customers so you’re excited to maybe help make a connection. It comes as a surprise when you enter the front lobby and see the last person you would expect to be at your job.
Javier Peña
Even with his back turned you can still make out that stance. He’s standing with his head cocked to the side as he reads the information board.
He hears you shuffle in and turns to greet you. His shy smile puts you at ease, knowing his reputation it was a relief to see him a little nervous.
“Welcome to LAPS, are you here for our free adoptions?”
Javi can see your mouth moving as you approach him, but he’s not entirely sure he heard a word you said. Your disarming smile and bubbly charm has him feeling something he hasn’t felt in quite some time.
Maybe his dad was right.
You’re patiently waiting for him to respond as he stands there dumbfounded. You don’t seem intimidated or annoyed by his presence as he nervously rubs the back of his neck.
“I’m ugh…not entirely sure what I’m looking for.”
“Well let’s start with something easy then. Are you a dog or cat person?” You turn towards the kennel doors hoping he gets the hint to follow you.
“A little of both I guess, but I’m here for a dog.” Now that the words have left his mouth it starts to feel a little more real.
You clap your hands together and lead him into the doors on the right. “The dogs are this way, we try to keep them separate so the cats can relax.” You turn to him and smile again, he’s not sure how every single person that walks in here doesn’t leave with a pet if this is how you treat the customers.
You pass a few cages that are marked in various colors, he silently follows you as you explain what the colors mean. Some are already adopted and others are just boarding. A few of them are getting acclimated to the shelter or waiting for people to come get them because they’re just lost. He hasn’t really looked at any of them, too focused on the way your blue scrubs hug your curves.
At the end of the cages are some long runs, a beautiful German shepherd is in the first one. Jesse James is his name, he’s 4 years old and very excited as he puts his large paws on the front of the door.
“He’s a sweetheart, his owners couldn’t afford his knee surgery so they surrendered him to us. Unfortunately he needs another surgery so keep that in mind.”
Javi thinks he’s nice, but that’s a lot to take on. Plus he already has large animals to take care of.
The second run has an elderly looking golden retriever Audrey is the name on the tag, you stop to open the door as she gingerly makes her way towards you wagging her tail. Your soft voice as you crouch down and greet her has his heart practically melting. Her face is golden and graying in some spots.
“She’s twelve…so I don’t know if she’s a good fit for you.” You answer the silent question on cue as if you can read his mind.
“What’ll happen to her, if no one takes her.” The timber in his voice cracks slightly at the prospect.
You look up at him while Audrey enjoys your soft pets and see the heartbroken look in his eyes.
“Oh…this is a no kill shelter. If no one takes her she’ll just live out her life here with us.” You stand and close the door and she slinks back to her plush bed. “We have to do free adoptions occasionally when space gets limited.”
The final run has no tag on the door. A small beagle comes to the front as you open the door. He looks young but not a puppy. You step aside and let Javi crouch down to greet him. Javi scratches him behind the ear and is rewarded with small licks to his face.
“Hi buddy, you want to come home with me.” He barks once and wags his tail and Javi has all but made his decision.
It’s adorable the way Javi coos at the small dog, you can’t help but look at the way his jeans stretch when he crouched down to say hi. His black shirt is taught over his muscular frame and a sliver of skin just barely shows as he leans forward.
“What’s his story?” He catches you checking him out briefly when he turns around. He’ll have to send some flowers with his pops to Ms. Valencia as a thank you.
“She was roaming the streets a few weeks ago. She’s past her waiting period for someone to claim her.”
“Oh so you’re a lady.” You chuckle at the way his voice changes as he properly addresses her. “Hola cariño, cómo te llamas?”
“She doesn’t have a name just yet.” She barks twice in his face and he lets out a hearty laugh. “She likes to bark, I hope you don’t mind.”
“No one out at the ranch will complain.” He says it mostly to himself as he’s all but confirmed that he won’t be going home empty handed.
****
“Well let’s get your paperwork sorted out.” He’s muttering half phrases to her in English and Spanish as she rolls over for him to rub her belly. “I promise she’ll be here when we’re done Javier.”
It’s not just the way you say his name but the fact that he doesn’t remember even introducing himself. He looks up at you then and notices your name tag. The name is vaguely familiar but he knows he’d remember your face.
“Have we met before?” He asks as he stands and closes the run door.
You laugh as you make your way towards the front, knowing he’ll follow close behind.
“Yes Javier Peña we’ve met before.”
A slight panic falls over him as he tries to rack his brain for any memory of you. You’re grazing your fingers along the cages as you speak softly to the other animals.
“I’m sure I’d remember if we met.” That flirting tone that you knew to be the real Javier makes an appearance as you round the corner to the front desk.
“I won’t hold it against you. I was a few years under you and I guess you would call me a late bloomer, but I hate that term.” You nervously bite your lip as you slide him the paperwork for the adoption.
He feels a little bad that he didn’t remember you. He had blinders on back then, only had eyes for one woman before he left for Colombia. He wants to ask you out for coffee, maybe even go to lunch. He’s still hesitant now having to approach women in a proper manner. When women practically throw themselves at you it’s hard to remember how to court someone.
You gasp and skip to the back before he has a chance. You return with an arm full of stuff and set it on the counter.
“We just had some donations so you’re in luck Javier Peña.” He doesn’t normally like when people use his full name. It makes him feel old and official, but he loves the way it rolls off your tongue as you lick your bottom lip, a nervous habit he’s noticed during your interaction. “ Food to last a few weeks, toys, and a leash. Perfect way to get you started.”
It does feel perfect.
“I’ll go get your girl. You’ll have to tell me when you come up with a name.” You wink at him and disappear behind the doors again.
****
His new companion is sleeping comfortably in the passenger seat of his truck. She stirs occasionally when the road gets a little bumpy but relaxes almost immediately.
The setting sun shines through the passenger window and she lifts her paw to cover face. He chuckles to himself at the human-like gesture as he reaches over and scratches behind her ear.
“Never thought I’d have a partner in crime again.” She lifts her head and barks at him. “You’re just as talkative as my old partner, Steve.” She speaks again, her hearty boisterous bark echoing in the cab of the truck.
She sits up as he drives down the path leading to the ranch. Her soft pants and excited tail wags as she takes in the sight of all the farm animals has him feeling a sense of contentment.
“Steve is no name for a lady, cariño.” She paws at his arm and lets out a small whine. “How about Murphy?” She barks twice in his face as he parks his truck in front of the house.
Steve is gonna love this.
****
Chucho drops a piece of meat on the floor as Murphy hurriedly scarfs it down.
“Dad, don’t feed her your food, she has her own food.” Javi looks at Murphy as she licks her chops.
“I didn’t give her anything son.” Chucho slowly dips his hand below the table to feed her another piece. He holds his hand up to shush her as he saunters off to the hallway to enjoy her treat.
Javi rolls his eyes as she returns from the hallway and lays down in her bed near the back door. She looks outside and lets out a puff of air as she buries her head under the blanket.
“I’m glad you took my advice, Jav.” He looks up at his dad smiling to himself while he finishes his meal.
“Technically I took Ms. Valencia’s advice.” His dad scowls as he shrugs his shoulders, standing to gather his plate in the sink.
****
“You named your dog after me!” He can hear the girls giggle in the background as Steve shoos them away.
“Not exactly, she’s tolerable and I like her company.” He stares down at the dog, perched at his feet while he stands in the kitchen at the receiver.
“If you missed me that much you could’ve come visit.”
“Ha,ha very funny.” It’s true he did miss his partner, Murphy is turning out to be a wonderful replacement.
“I’d like to meet this girl that convinced you to get a dog.” His teasing tone is clearly evident over the phone. He briefly mentioned you so he’s not sure how Steve could even pick up on his obvious crush.
“Goodnight Murphy.”
“Are you talking to me or the dog?” Connie can’t disguise her laugh on the other end, clearly eavesdropping on the conversation.
“The girls and Connie will get to meet your namesake the next time you come to see me.”
They say their goodbyes as Javi hangs up the phone. Murphy lets out a long drawn out yawn and Javi agrees it’s definitely time for bed after a long eventful day. Her first night not sleeping in the shelter, it pains him and warms his heart all at once knowing she won’t ever have to go back there.
“Let’s go to bed Murph.” The pitter patter of her feet follows him down the hall to his room. He places her bed in the corner and strips off his clothes. She hops up onto the edge of the bed before he has a chance to tell her no.
“Your bed is down there cariño.” She rolls over exposing her belly as she nuzzles further into the blankets and he knows it will be nearly impossible to tell her to get down.
“Fine, but just tonight.” He doesn’t even want to address the fact that he spent most of his day talking to her, he wonders if she can even understand him.
It won’t be until much later that he realizes how peacefully he slept that night.
****
Javi stretches his tired muscles as he takes in the soft morning light peeking through the window. He doesn’t immediately register how comfortable he is or well rested. He’s usually up before the crack of dawn so he knows it’s much later than he’s used to waking up.
The edge of the bed is empty save for the small indent where Murphy laid all night. Her bed is empty as well and the door is slightly ajar. Panic sets in as he throws back the blanket and pulls on his sweats forgoing a shirt to look for his companion.
You said she was roaming the streets when she was found and he hopes she didn’t decide to run off in the middle of the night. Despite requiring opposable thumbs to open the door, he can’t think straight until he knows she’s safe.
He’s calling her name throughout the house as he takes note of the kitchen being gently used. There’s a small plate next to the food bowl of untouched kibble with some leftover scrambled eggs.
Chucho
It’s the first morning since he’s been home where he really takes in the sight. His dad is at the fence with the calves and Murphy is sitting beside him. She’s looking up at him as he explains something to her as if she can understand him.
He points out to the pasture and she looks out and barks at the small calves running to their mother. Javi is very glad he took that step and brought her home because more than one person seemed to need her presence in their lives.
He should call and thank you.
He heads over to his truck to pull out the paperwork from the adoption. It’s really the only way he has to contact you so he hopes it’s you who picks up the phone.
He slams the truck door and sees Murphy running toward him full speed.
“She’s excited to see her papa.” Chucho exclaims as he sends a wave to his son. “I’m going to feed the rest of the animals. I'll catch up with you later.” He winks at Javi as he lumbers off to the barn.
****
His hands are a little shaky as he dials the number to the shelter. Murphy is laying on his feet beside the table as she drifts off to sleep again, probably having been awake for hours with Chucho.
“Laredo Animal Protective Society.” Your sweet voice comes through the receiver and he’s nervous and relieved all at once.
“Hi, it’s Javier…Peña.” You chuckle a little on the other end.
“I hope you’re not sick of her already.”
“Oh no, not at all…Murphy loves it here.” He looks down at her as she rolls over exposing her belly again.
“Murphy? I’m guessing there’s a story there.”
“Ya there is…I’d love to tell you over lunch or dinner.” Murphy barks and he nearly drops the phone.
“I think that bark means dinner, and I’d love to hear it Javier Peña.”

Lucid Dreams- Bucky Barnes x Autistic!Enchanced!Reader (Part 01)
Summary: The cradle of sleep continuously eludes Bucky. Nightmares tormented him every night. But a chance encounter with an unknown woman draws him into the dream realm. Granting him the peace he so desired. But he longs to see her again. His dreamgirl.
Disclaimer: The reader's autistic traits are based on my own. Every autistic person is different with their own different traits. So please do not assume every autistic person is like this.
Inspiration: Lucid Dream by Owl City
Bucky jolted awake from another nightmare. Covered head to toe in sweat, his heart rate extremely high. He was in his apartment, on the floor in the living room with a bunch of blankets and his pillow. The TV on low playing some crappy old sitcom from two decades ago was the only light in the room. Bucky groaned in frustration as his hands went to his short hair. He hadn’t had any decent sleep in weeks. Nothing but nightmares.
He was so tired.
The lack of sleep was affecting him during the day, shuffling through the streets as if he were undead. Fueled by reflex and muscle memory. How much longer was this going to go on?
“How have you been sleeping?” Dr. Raynor asked. But Bucky didn’t answer, he didn’t want to. He just kept staring blankly out the window, his vision doubled occasionally with exhaustion. In the corner of his eye he saw Raynor grab the notebook with frustration. His anger spiked, “Like shit okay! I’ve been sleeping like shit! Happy now?!” He exclaimed. The pen stilled in the therapist’s hand as she eyed him. “Have you been doing those sleep exercises I recommended?” Bucky rolled his eyes. “Yes, every single one. And not one of them made a damn bit of difference!” All these “new age” methods were ludicrous in his opinion. Scented candles, meditation, listening to some ancient sounding new age music. It was too weird for his taste. A glass of smoked whiskey and a good book was enough for him, more realistic.
Bucky sat through the rest of the session harboring anger. His frustration over the lack of sleep he was getting was pissing him off more everyday. Everynight he’d stay up as long as possible. He'd eventually pass out but he’d be up in less than four hours from a nightmare.
Walking back to his apartment the sounds of the city had become droned and melded, in his exhausted hazed mind it was like the world was fading away. He passed the little coffee shop on his route, it showed up a few months ago. Seemed to be fairly popular with the young crowd. Whatever. He just wanted to go home.
“OOF!”
Someone bumped into him. “Sorry!” They left before he could see their face. He couldn’t really see clearly through the haze in his eyes. He looked at where he felt the person’s hand touch him, on his sternum. He felt a warmth coming from it as if the hand was still there. He grasped the end of the hoodie and pulled it towards his nose, he sniffed. Coffee. The smell of freshly ground coffee beans wafted into his nose. The roasted smell made his mouth water. Fresh coffee. Maybe he’d brew up a pot when he got home.
Finally his apartment was in sight, and so was someone. Sam. The new Captain America sat on the steps of his building. Clearly waiting for him. On approach Sam stood up, “Raynor called me.” He said. Bucky rolled his eyes in annoyance, “What are you my nanny now?” Bucky snapped, fishing out his keys. “She told me about your sleep problems. I just wanna help man.” He was so sick of this. People thinking they can just walk into his life and without indirectly telling him he’s a wreck, a psychological tire fire, a monster who must obey like an obedient dog! “She knows nothing about me!” Bucky was getting more and more angry. “Buck, we're just trying to help.” Sam placed his hand on Bucky’s shoulder. But the former Winter Soldier shoved it off as if he had been burned. “SHUT UP!” He yelled. He turned to Sam, “You wanna help Sam? Then leave me alone! You have no idea how all this is for me! Everything I’ve done! And until you do, LEAVE ME THE FUCK ALONE!” He yelled with all the anger that had been pent up inside.
He turned and entered the building, leaving Sam behind. Once inside everything hit him.
Why did he do that? Sam was just trying to help, like the good friend he is. And Bucky lashed out. He pushed his friend away. His only friend left. Bucky leaned his head back on the door as his face began to tremble and hot tears pooled in his eyes. He banged his head on the door in an attempt to punish himself. He slid down to the floor as sobs began to emerge from his throat. He was all alone. That’s what he does, he pushes and alienates all those close to him. Afterall it was his fault Steve left. Bucky berated himself thinking Steve abandoned him because he had enough. Bucky’s sobs echoed in his apartment. He was so tired. Why couldn’t he sleep? He just wanted to sleep.
Later that night, Bucky’s eyes were red and swollen from sobbing out his frustrations. He wished the world would just swallow him up forever. It was past midnight now, the smoked whiskey he poured two hours ago was almost finished. The astronomy book in his hand was half done. Since being freed, astronomy had become his favorite thing to catch up on. He could recall memories from his childhood where it’d be late at night, his parents and sisters would be tucked in and asleep while he snuck up to the roof to find all the constellations he could see. And get lost in thoughts over what may be beyond that sky and those stars. Now with all the satellites and space stations he was more enthralled than ever.
He yawned, he couldn’t see straight anymore. He wanted to sleep but he knew what would happen in a few hours. He needs to sleep. He stripped down to his boxers, his dog tags dangling against his bare chest. He looked at the spot where he had been touched earlier that day. It felt hot but not in a painful way, there were no marks or anything but he felt the heat seep deep inside him. Maybe he was hallucinating.
He laid down in his pile of blankets on the floor, the TV was on low. His head resting on the pillow. He took deep breaths trying to relax his mind and think of anything other than the impending nightmares he’d face later.
What would it be like to float through outer space? He wondered. Where nothing mattered. The problems he faced everyday would just melt away. Just him and the endless horizon of stars.
He slipped into sleep.
Weightless, Free, Peace, and warmth. That’s what Bucky felt, he’d never felt this before.
I am a light sleeper
But I am a heavy dreamer
He opened his eyes. And to his wonderment saw an endless sky of stars and colorful nebula clouds. He was floating in outer space. Yet he could breathe and there was no lethal cold. It was warm. Like being wrapped in a soft blanket or embraced by someone. This had to be a dream. It felt so amazing, sure he was just floating but it felt so free, so peaceful. He wanted to touch the nebula clouds, he reached his hand out unsure how to move himself forward. But with the thought of moving forward he slowly floated towards the cloud.
My imagination gives me wings
And I can go anywhere
His hand went through the cloud and it moved with his hand. Following his every movement as if he was controlling it. In a spur of childlike wonder he quickly flicked his hand and the cloud followed. Dazzling wisps of bright colors and starlight followed his hand creating an ethereal dance of light and wonder. Bucky’s heart soared with warmth and happiness. He wanted to see more. With a quick thought he floated up.
And when I wander away, to some other place
I'm suddenly there, way up in the air
Where passenger trains catch fire and fill the sky with flames
And that black rabbit of death
Wakes up in a breath, of beautiful dreams
My heartache it seems, so terribly vain
Where fire and diamonds fall like rain
He reached out to grab a star. In his hand it was small yet bright. Like a firefly. He held it with care. It was like he could do anything. Go wherever he wanted. Nothing could tear him away from this feeling. His self hating thoughts, his tainted mind. It seemed so far away like no harm could come to him here. Here in this realm of dreams he felt safe.
Do you believe in endless miracles?
Do you believe in the impossible?
Do you believe sleep is a time machine?
Do you believe in curiosity?
Do you believe in what you cannot see?
Do you believe life is a Lucid Dream?
He suddenly heard music. It was getting closer. Was there someone else here? He looked and saw in a burst of ethereal color, a woman. Running on a stream of white starlight that grew to catch her steps. Nebula clouds and stars followed her as if she were guiding them. Her (y/h/c) air flowed behind her like a curtain as she ran. Dressed in a black tank top and underwear of the same color, she was happy as she ran on the stream of starlight. Earbuds were tucked into her ears with their cords disappearing into nothing. Bucky could hear the music from them. As clear as day. The woman turned her head to look at him, she smiled brightly as if she had been looking for him. Her (y/e/c) eyes, brighter than the stars that followed her, gazed at him. Beckoning him. She was so beautiful. Like a Goddess of Dreams. With a quick flick of her hands she sent another stream of starlight his way. It flowed under his feet pulling him forward to follow the woman. Nearly losing his balance he gradually moved his legs to run on the stream.
This was amazing! He was running on starlight! He looked at the woman again, her smile was bigger and brighter. She raised her arms high as she looked at him cheering him on. He ran with her on the stream of starlight exchanging glances. She pointed ahead of them, the underside of a swirling galaxy. She sprinted ahead of him and breached the galaxy in a burst of stars and colored dust. Like a mermaid surfacing. He wanted to do it too. He sprinted. Breach. Breach. BREACH!
Well that's how you study the stars
That's how you study the stars
And that's how you know 'em by heart
Life is a Lucid Dream
He pushed through the galaxy floating up and up with the stars following him. The brightness in his chest radiated. He never felt so free. So happy. So content. He breathed deeply in peace as he floated. He opened his eyes and stared at the swirling galaxy before him. He wanted to stay forever. His dog tags floated before him. Above him he saw the woman again, delicately drifting towards him with a soft warm smile that made his heart flutter. She reached out and cupped his cheeks with such tenderness his eyes drifted shut at the warmth. “Time to wake up.” Her voice echoed with such grace and softness it made the angel's of old sound tone deaf. And with a soft kiss to his forehead he was enveloped in a warm bright light.
I am a light sleeper
But I am a heavy dreamer
When Bucky opened his eyes again, he heard the sounds of the city. He stared at the ceiling. He was back in the real world. He smiled at the memory of his dream.
He sat up, he felt well rested. Looking at his watch, it was past 6 in the evening. He had been asleep for sixteen hours. With no nightmares. He felt amazing. His mood shifted when in the corner of his eyes he saw a glowing blue light over his sternum. Ethereal blue light in the shape of a delicate handprint lay on his chest, the fingers ending at his sternum. Radiating a soft warmth. It faded slowly into him. He felt a wave calm wash over him as he thought about the woman in his dream. Did she do this? Did she give him that dream?
He needed to find her.
He had to see her again.

"I know who you really are."
JOE GOLDBERG X SLASHER MALE READER
Warnings! ONESHOT, Stalker joe, killer reader, killing, blood, gore, Y/n is a manipulator, animals eating human flesh, reader loves animals.
J/n - Job name.
JOE POV:
Everything was perfect. I had the perfect wife, perfect job and an amazing son. Our life was perfect.
Until he came.
He was new to Madre Linda. He was young and ( tall, short, regular.) He never made an effort to talk to the other neighbors, only talking to them if he's spoken to or absolutely necessary. He lives alone but has multiple strange animals. Like snakes, way too many cats and dogs, birds, rats, raccoons, ferrets and fish.
Love and I watch him almost everyday to see is he a threat to break this “Peaceful and loving community”. He sticks to a routine only breaking it to go to a neighbors party or event. In the morings he usually goes on a run for thirty five minutes and stops on the second when it is past thirty five. Then he’ll go back home and let his land animals walk around the yard for their fitfhteen minutes of play time. After that he goes back inside to eat and feed the pets.
Now it's work time.
He hires a sitter most of the time, male but sometimes female. Once he gets the sitter ready and double checks with his animals he leaves for J/n. By the time he comes back it's about 10:10 on the dot. Sitter leaves with Y/n walking them to the door with a smile. And the smile disappears fairly quickly as they sitter gets into their car.
Today
Sherry and Cary had this great idea to have the biggest house party in the neighborhood. To which the whole neighborhood agreed too and all went. But I didn’t expect that He was gonna be here as well. Which surprised everyone that he brought a lovely man with him named Ken.
Love and I watched Y/n and Ken every single second of the party. Every few minutes Y/n will whisper something in Ken's ear about someone in the party. From Ken's reaction it had to be the most craziest and dark secret about them.
Y/n looks at his phone and doesn't spare a glance at Ken leaving the party. Ken quickly follows like a lost puppy making me scoff.
I turn to Love and she's busy talking to her so-called friends. I quickly exit the party going to my car and start it and turn the headlights off. I begin to drive slowly behind not drawing too much attention.
The couple walks to Y/n house without sharing any conversation. Once they get there Y/n opens the door for Ken who kisses his cheek as a thank you. I clench my jaw tightly and park my car somewhat away from his house.
3RD POV
"You are one lucky man Ken" Y/n says to him once he gets in the house leaving the door unlocked. "Really? How so Y/n?~" Ken asked seductively unbuttoning his dress shirt.
“Well it's simple most people never see an ecosystem this big and diverse in one house!” Y/n shouts with Enthusiasm smiling ear to ear to finally talk about someone beside the pet sitter about his animals. Ken lets out a fake ohhh. Y/n turns his face around to see Ken that's naked on his couch. “Before you get the wrong idea, I do have a license to own them. Don’t want you to think i’m some porcher.”
“Come eat, girls and boys!” Y/n shouts walking to the kitchen and getting an axe from behind the fridge.
Joe watches multiple animals leave their rooms upstairs hiding in the closest watching them pass. The house became silent for a while with only a few dogs barks.
Joe slips out of the closet looking for an escape. He finds an open window and begins to approach it but gets stopped by a harsh hand on his shoulder. There Is Ken holding onto Joe for his life. Blood everywhere and bite marks and tiny holes from the bird's beak littered on his body and one of his eyes was missing also his other hand that looked like it was chopped off.
Joe uses all of his strength to push Ken off of him and makes a b-line to the window but gets bounced back from a strong chest. Joe hand springs to his neck gasping for air hitting the snake that is slowly suffocating him.
“That's Jane! She's a Boas constrictor. She's such a good hugger.” Joe's legs begin to buckle and his face turns a slight purple. “Just say the word and I'll help you.” Joe tries to speak but nothing comes out making Y/n laugh.
“Jane off.” The large snake immediately loses her grip and slither off the semi-purple man. “You remind me of my rats. Quiet and mysterious listening when you don’t expect anyone to listen. You don’t spread diseases and damage like them. You bring death and tragedy.” You walk up to Joe picking him up, taking him to the bird room and using one of the chains putting them on his wrist trapping him in the room.
“When you are well rested, You will help me out with the animals then text your wife your gonna be gone for a few days maybe weeks even. FyI this is the bird habitat so pray they don't poke your eyes out or something goldberg~"
"I think me and you are gonna be one great couple once Love is out of the way.~ Maybe i'll be your new Love or beck who knows?"
"I know who you really are joe..."

Ok so since some people want to see my au here it is. Also I read the comics. This isn't accurate to how the comics are since it is an au. This is mostly focused on Brian. I kinda project onto him so just a small warning for future things.
The stuff with Tim was mostly @/krispawwxx ideas. With some of my own mixed into it
This au is called Lost memories.
Trigger warning: mention of Suicide but like once
Updated on July 21
Brian
I headcanon that Hoodie/Brian purposefully fell out of the window. Since I believe Tim didn't push him.(If it's been confirmed that Tim did in fact push him please tell me)
Brian had survived the fall. He woke up in the hospital after a few weeks. Similar to Jessica he doesn't remember anything. He doesn't remember Tim or anyone else. He doesn't know how he even got in the hospital. After a while he was released from the hospital. Unfortunately he wasn't able to walk very well so he used a crutch. He later gets a service/emotional support dog named Izzy who's a poodle(I just like poodles).
Brian has nightmares about the ark as well as all of the victims(So Jay, Alex, Seth, Sarah, Amy, and Chris aka the tunnel guy). He doesn't know who they are. He has dreams about two masks. Which is his mask when he used to be Hoodie as well as Tim's mask. He is very freaked out about this.
He does go to therapy. He takes medication for depression, anxiety, as well as for his hallucinations. He hasn't seen the Operator yet. He doesn't remember what the operator is.
He MIGHT be able to become Hoodie still. I haven't decided on that yet so we'll see.
Him and Tim have met again. Ofc he doesn't remember him
Tim
So after everything Tim mostly stays as Masky. He thinks Brian had died since he saw him fall out of the window. But he soon found out Brian survived. He visited him everyday in the hospital. But Brian was in a coma for those few weeks. He'd leave Brian flowers. But once Brian woke up he stopped visiting.
It didn't take long for the two to run into each other. Tim looked like he saw a ghost. He was crushed when Brian asked who he was. He realized Brian didn't remember him so he just dropped it. The two have run into each other a few other times since it's kind of a small town. They didn't talk very much. But Tim ended up giving Brian his phone number in case something happens.
He can become Masky. It's becoming a lot more frequent though. His medication doesn't work.
Jessica
Nothing really changes with her. She still doesn't remember anything from Marble Hornets. She still encounters Skully and blah blah
She and Brian will end up meeting since Skully will need both of their help killing the Operator. They obviously don't remember each other.
Jessica is slowly getting her memory back though. She does remember Amy(since in the comics she sees her in a hallucination). She ofc still remembers Tim. Since he did help her. I imagine they kept in touch.
------
End note: Everything is still a WIP so things will be added and changed. I already have two things written down which I'll post soon. If you guys have ideas let me know! I'm open to ideas. This is kind of a mess so I do apologize. I just kinda ramble. Also if you guys have questions feel free to ask.

Jack roller skating with reader 😊😊😊
Thru The Night
Jack Harlow x fem!reader
Fluff
A/n: thank you for requesting! @exoticr0ses
Synopsis: y/n going roller skating with Jack.
******************************
“I give up, Jack. Where are we going?” You ask him, adjusting in the passenger seat so you can look at him.
“It’s a surprise.” He shrugs.
“Can I at least get a hint?” You ask him, doing your best puppy dog eyes.
“No. Just look around. You know where we are.” He says, gesturing to the window.
You turn your head and look outside of it, seeing the regular everyday roads of Kentucky.
“No, I do not. I think you forgot that I didn’t grow up here.” You point out to him.
“Yeah, but I’ve taken you here before. It was in 2019.” He says.
You shuffle through your memories to figure out where in 2019 he took you.
“Are we going roller skating?” You ask him with a bubbly smile.
“Mhm.” He nods, trying to hold in his happiness from seeing your reaction.
“What!” You exclaim, unable to contain your excitement.
“But you suck at skating.” You laugh.
“I do not suck. It just takes a second to get adjusted.” He defends himself.
“No. I just think you suck.” You shrug.
“Well, I think you choke.” He sticks his tongue out at you.
“You know I choke.” You smirk at him.
“That I do, baby.” He smiles, sticking his hand out for you to dap him up.
Before you know it, you and Jack are arriving at the roller rink. While Jack parks the car, you waste no time before exiting the vehicle.
“Slow down, firecracker.” He laughs.
The two of you walk into the rink hand in hand. Jack pays for your tickets before the two of you enter. Due to y’all going early, the rink is empty.
“You picked a good time to come.” You tell him, referring to the lack of people.
“What do you mean?” He wrinkles his brows.
“There’s no one here.” You tell him.
He laughs, throwing his head back.
“I rented it out for you.” He says.
“Oh.” You tell him, shocked by the thought he put behind the date.
“This is the first date since I’ve been back, and you thought I was gonna lowball it?” He asks, picking up the skates from the counter.
The two of you go to a table and put on the skates. You smile as you watch Jack struggle to get up.
“Need help, baby?” You ask him, smiling.
“Man, I got this.” He reassures you (himself).
He finally figures it out, and you both head to the rink. You make it there first. And wait for Jack to catch up to you.
“I got this,” Jack says under his breath.
“C’mon, baby.” You urge him.
“I can either roll there or slide there. You choose.” He sasses.
You hold your hands up in defense and skate away from him. A staff member begins playing music, and you smile as Drake sounds throughout the speakers.
You lose yourself in the music and the action of skating. You don’t realize that Jack’s caught up to you before you feel him wrap his arms around your waist.
“Ah, you got in the groove, hmm?” You ask him.
“I told you that I just need a little adjustment time.” He smiles.
“Right, right.” You laugh.
Perfect by Ed Sheeran sounds throughout the speaker, causing you to smile at the song.
“It’s our song.” You tell Jack.
“It is.” He glows as the two of you glide to the song.
Suddenly during a turn, Jack loses his balance. The two of you crash to the ground in a fit of giggles.
“My fault.” Jack winces.
“Yeah, definitely your fault.” You laugh.
You get up and hold your arm up, which he takes gratefully.
The two of you skate for about an hour longer.
“I’m hungry.” You and Jack both groan at the same time.
The two of you shake your heads and laugh in unison.
“We are too in sync.” You laugh.
“I think we should get nachos,” Jack says.
“Ooo, I agree.” You tell him, skating towards the exit of the rink.
You find a bench and take off the skates. While Jack does takes his skates off too.
The two of you put on your original shoes and return the skates before exiting the building.
“I had such a great date, Jack. Thank you.” You peck his lips.
“I’m glad, baby. I hope you enjoy rubbing my legs and back later too.” He smiles.
“Anything for you.” You laugh.

Laughing In The Rain
By-Sandy
Sodapop Curtis x GN!Reader
Warnings:Zero, just fluff with soda
Word Count: 1,031
______________________________________________
______________________________________________
-You are a care-free sweet-hearted person, you have many people in your life but there is only one person you wanna spend it with and that is Sodapop Curtis. The boy next door, in simple terms. -You get butterflies just thinking about him. He is your dream and he just doesn’t know it. You haven’t seen him a lot since he dropped out of school. You miss seeing his smile when you’d was eachother in the halls. You miss seeing him everyday in History class. You miss him so much. -You guys have know each-other for 4 years, you aren’t the best of friends but your still pretty close. You know almost everything about him, not in the creepy way of course.
-Little do you know that he is missing you too.
••••••
It was a murky and rainy evening, you were at your desk studying for upcoming exams. Your desk faced the window so you could look out onto the street. Great for people watching is what you and your dad always joke about. You tap your pencil on your desk repeatedly, your growing bored and frustrated with studying this material. You look out the window zoning out. You love the rain, you love the smell of the freshly wet grass, the feeling of it hitting your skin, and for some odd reason you lived for the stormy grey the sky and clouds turn during a rainstorm. You enjoyed the little things no one else did. You came back to the present time, you say two little girls in rain attire jumping in puddles, you laughed to yourself as you thought it was adorable. You eyes wander to see the Curtis’ house and some of their friends out on the porch. They were knocking on the door, all huddled together trying to get through the open door first. You have this idea to go out into the rain and just enjoy it. You chicken out at first cause you don’t wanna embarrass yourself, you then begin to wonder why would I be embrassed if I am enjoy something I like. ‘Screw it.’ You thought to yourself.
You get off the desk chair and leave your studying to another time. You were about to walk out the door when you hear your mom’s voice call to you. “Y/N L/N, please tell me you are not going in the rain wearing that?” She said peeking out of your parents study examining your outfit like it was a report card.
I look at my outfit, I had on dark blue flare jeans with white roughed up shoes and a white sweater with your sliver locket.
“What do you mean?” You asked confused with what was wrong with your outfit
“Put a jacket on, young lady. Then you can go play or what not in the rain.” She said sternly with a smile.
“Okay, ma” You say willingly as you grab your black rain jacket and put it on. You open the door and close it, you take a deep breath. And as you guessed it smelled like freshly wet grass. You are pretty sure you have candle of the smell somewhere in your disorganized room.
You walked out into the rain, you giggled as your hair got wet. You went to grab the hood of the chair to put it on then you found nothing and then it hit you that you had forgotten that this rain coats hood was murdered last year after your little brother had the smartest of ideas to use it to play tug a war with the neighbors dog. You sat down on the sidewalk and played with the grass just enjoying as the rain hit your skin. You smiled with your eyes closed and took a deep breath again. You picked a dandelion out of the grass surprised that it wasn’t ruined by the rain. You twirled the stem around with your fingers. You zoned out until you heard a familiar voice saying:
“Y/N? Why are you sitting on the sidewalk when it’s raining?” You looked up to see Sodapop, you were shocked for a second then turned pink.
“Uhm..I just like the rain thats all.” You said almost like it was a question.
‘Gosh Y/N do you have any social skills?’ You thought to yourself.
“Oh. Me too” He said with a smile.
You chuckled awkwardly, “That’s nice.” you said uncontrollably
“Uh yeah.” He said sounding a little sad
This conversation was going no where. Until you said:
“So how’s been?” You said confidently, you even added a smile. You felt your skin turning pinker by the minute. He smiled, glad to find a topic. “It’s been great! As you know I am working at the DX full time now and..” He began sitting down right next to you looking you in the eyes. He’s eyes were sparkly, he didn’t have a rain coat on or anything just a white t-shirt, his DX short sleeved button up and hat, and his shoes and oil stained jeans. You completely zoned out, you didn’t anything he said and you found him looking at you happily and waiting for a response.
“Oh I am sorry, I zoned out” You said awkwardly and a bit embarrassed.
He looked at you with same sparkle in his eyes and replied with “Thats okay! Happens to me all of the time! I will just repeat what I said…” and he did.
———
You don’t know how long you guys have been out there but you didn’t care and he didn’t seem to either. Most of your conversation had been filled with laughs and giggles. It’s was still raining and y’all were soaked but it didn’t matter, you were happy. “So..” He said picking at the grass, picking out a strand of one from a patch of crab grass on your lawn. “Would you like to come over and hangout?” He asked looking at you with his perfect smile.
You didn’t say anything at first, you have never been invited to a boys place before. “I-I..uhm” You were speechless and you were so flustered.
He looked at you confused “We can just stay out here if you want, I was just getting a little cold that’s all.” He finished with his smile.
“No no no. I just went blank, sorry. I would love I mean like to hangout with you or I mean you and your friends. Uh sure.” You said quickly as you felt heat find your face, you had totally weirded him out you were thinking.
He laughed softly as he looked at the ground then he looked and you and said, “I was hoping you would say that.” He stood up and held out his hand which you quickly took.
He turned and gave you a kiss on the check before leading the way to his house. When I tell you almost squealed and turned 50 shades of red I mean it. Believe me.
Thank you for reading!
-Sandy

The neighbour was very strange to my step mum today. Yelled at her for noise from a bin lid. When only half an hour before, she was confusingly slamming her own bin lid in middle her garden at night by herself.
Read more as I ramble on and to save your dashboard.
She was putting recycling in the recycling bin outside and because her hands were full the lid dropped. It was a little loud but an accident.
The neighbour appeared and called sarcastically from her doorstep "well done for slamming the lid!"
Now if this incident was on its own, I would say she's just a grumpy neighbour. But prior to this, she was in her garden at night with her own bin (she had dragged it to the middle of the garden), and was lifting the lid fully open and letting it drop. It slammed loudly three times (with 10mins space in between) and frightened me inside my home (I wondered what it was, thought something had fallen outside).
I only figured it out is was her when I was walking to my Nan's to go to Zoe (my cat). She locked eyes with me, and I smiled and waved to her. Then she let the bin lid drop. It didn't look like she was putting anything in the bin.
This bin lid dropping by her was done half an hour before the incident. My step mum only did the recycling 10 mins ago (from typing this) and rang me to ask for advice. So the neighbour was doing it before.
I'm very confused by this. No one confronted or took notice of her actions in her garden. Although strange and at 7pm, it was none of our buisness. So it wasn't her calling us a hypocrite either.
She seems to have some mental disorder. She's spoke to herself multiple times in the past, ignores people when they greet her, and does her gardening loudly in the middle of the night. She does not come out in the day normally. We just leave her be with it all. Once again, it is nothing to do with us.
I have been rudely shouted at by her in the past. I was walking past her home on my way to my Nan's in the afternoon (as I do everyday). She randomly shouted in a sarcastic voice through her window at me " Oooh... I'm scared~!". It frightened me half to death as I didn't know what had happened or that she was even there. It's was not like I was interacting with her or dressed in a scary way at the time. It wasn't dark out and I walked to my Nan's at that time regularly every afternoon (6pm). I didn't respond back but just brushed it off as her quirky behaviour. But it did unnerve me tbh.
I hope its just verbal things. She could very easily key our car (there's no garage and we park next to each other as that's how the car park spaces work where i am) or toss tainted food over the fence before the dogs walk about in the fenced off garden before their walks. Never can be too careful with people nowadays. But I doubt it would escalate to that
We don't interact with her usually. There's no chance to. Although when i see her, i always wave to her friendily. We won't be responding back to any yelling at us. Don't want to cause any arguments. But it is upsetting to be yelled at unexpectedly for a mistake or nothing.
I miss the old neighbour. She was a lovely old lady called Pam. She had a sweet Cairn terrier. My mum used to keep and show them before she died when I was young too. She used give us a little chocolate box for Christmas abd remembered our birthdays (she got me the same personalised hair brush twice in a row by forgetting as she got older). It was nothing big but it was special as none the neighbours did that stuff. I still have those hair brushes in my drawer today. One day she had a heart attack in her home alone. She couldn't press her hospital alert button on time. She was discovered dead by her daughters when they came to visit her. They always liked to check up to see how she was. I remember being upset that I couldn't go to her funeral as I had to go to college. But my dad and step mum went. She was a lovely person always smiling and laughing.

🥮 ~ Cozy Corner’s Grand Menu ~ 🥮
🥮🧋🥮🧋🥮🧋🥮🧋🥮🧋🥮🧋🥮🧋🥮🧋🥮🧋🥮🧋🥮🧋🥮 You were walking down the cobblestone pathway of your town, adjusting the strap of your bag as the hustle and bustle of the street puts you on edge. Sure, there were the everyday pickpockets and thieves, but you couldn’t be too careful nowadays. Every street you turned down, it seemed to get busier and busier, which meant more people. And more people meant the increasing inevitability of trouble. Not wanting to get swept up by the crowd — or worse, stuck in it — you quickly spotted a little café. It was tucked away in its own little corner along the road and from the looks of it, no one else was in there. Deciding to wait for the masses to pass before making your way back home, you quickly made your way through what little space the people left for others to pass by and started shuffling hurriedly towards the café’s doors.
Upon entering its threshold, a soft chime rang through the empty establishment. The scent of fresh bread and coffee wafting through the air. You look around and quickly realize no one is here. Not one customer, barista or baker in sight. You step further into the shop, only to realize you don’t hear the busy clamor of the outside world. No honking cars, no muffled speech from passersby behind the door. Not even shadows crossing the color tainted glass windows. You decide to book it before some psycho pops out from behind the counter, but just as you turn on your heels to run for the door, all you see is white.
In a panic, you stumble backwards, only for the next thing you see to be the mahogany ceiling, a stinging pain making from your bum making itself known. Groaning softly, you sit up, trying to rub the pain away, cussing out some choice words. Slowly rising to your feet, you’re met with a small circular coffee table that seats one, your bag already propped on top of it and leaning against the dirty green walls. Utterly confused and a tad perturbed, you whip your head around, still finding the cafe empty. Hesitantly, you look back and blink twice as you find a leather bound menu, conveniently placed so that the establishment’s brand faces you.
Figuring that one peak couldn’t hurt, you hesitantly sit down on the wooden stool that had been previously pushed in before opening the menu, reading it over…

I'm a bit late, but I was sick over the weekend and I couldn't post this.
Last Sunday, the 15th of October 2023 was White Cane Safety Day. For those of you who don't know what a white cane is, it's a mobility device being used by those who are visually impaired to navigate their way around the world.
Nowadays, you can customize the look of the cane and change the colours according to your liking, but I like to stick with the classic. My everyday cane has a black handle with white body and the red part at the bottom. But I have two custom canes with bright blue handle and neon green handle, just for fun.
I want to use this oppportunity to raise awareness about those who are blind/visually impaired. Not every one of us would be using a white cane, or a guide dog, but sometimes, it's not obvious that we're unable to see as well as others.
We have our own reasons for not using a cane or a guide dog. Some of those reasons are personal, others are situational. They might not live in a place where white canes are widely available/easily attainable and not everyone could afford a guide dog.
For those of you who might need one and/or are on the fence of getting one or the other, I highly encourage you to do so, or at the very least, to give it a try. Please try the cane, though, not the dog. A guide dog is a commitment and you shouldn't get one unless you can commit to him/her because guide dogs needs to be cared for.
My cane has greatly improved my quality of life and I've become much more independent with it. It helps me to stay safe when I'm out and about. It also helps in those awkward situations where I'd walk straight into a full-glass window/door, thinking that there's nothing there.
And if you see someone walking with a white cane and you wanted to help, please ask first! Please don't grab their arm and drag them around. First, it's disorienting, second, it's just rude.
And never, ever take our cane from us. I don't know how/why this is even a thing that I need to mention. This should be one of those 'unspoken rules' that you do not take someone's walking aid from them. The cane is a mobility aid/device. It's not a toy, nor it is an accessories. 'Blindness' comes in many shapes, degrees, and forms and while it might be fine for me to be without my cane for a while, it might not be the case for another cane user.
I guess, that's my main points for this post. None of them is a new point, but it seems that some people still need the reminder every now and then.
