Had an idea on the beach today: a cheeky Remus with a brother head cannon if you will
Remus and his Brother Romulus. Identical twins that everyone can tell apart.
Remus littered with scars and Romulus all perfect and pristine. Romulus has one scar from when he had his appendix removed. Remus is a little jealous but when Romulus got sick Remus was so scared to lose his brother.
Anyway the brothers go on holiday with Lyall and Hope to Cornwall to a caravan park. It was a lot cheaper back in the 70s.
They go during the summer of their 5th year. The twins begged their parents to invite the other marauders and they agreed. The caravan is super small but they make do. James and Sirius are happy to sleep on the sofas. Peter wanted to go but he was on holiday with his family in Spain.
But the day the lupins decided to head on holiday was a full moon. Lyall cursed himself, he usually marks the moons. But it was fine Hope said to Lyall she will go down in the car with Romulus and check in the next day Lyall and remus can join.
Remus wasn’t fond of the idea, you see this was the year they all turned into animagi. Romulus’ animagus was a golden eagle. And they managed to get 4 moons in of having the marauders around and Remus’ wolf wasnt hurting himself since.
But Remus was about to go though a moon on his own for the first time in a while and the other issue was Romulus wasn’t a strong enough flyer.
That boy is a new bird you don’t just wake up and know how to fly. James made a joke in passing that he should ask the owls in the owlery for tips. Romulus thought it was a good idea until he nearly had his eye scratched out.
Anyway, Romulus said to Remus that he would fly back home once he helped Hope with setting up.
You know how I said Rome wasn’t a strong flyer? Yeah that boy jumped off the roof of the caravan made it 4 miles before losing confidence. Falling out the sky and walking back to the caravan park at 3am
Remus wasn’t mad at him but Romulus thought he would be, so when Lyall apperated to the campsite the next day Remus was a little tired and Lyall was still confused as to why the wolf was whimpering and howling as if it lost its pack all night. They made it to the park and Remus went down to the beach. Hope was say reading a book and Romulus was no where to be seen.
“Where’s Rome mum?” Remus asked he was more awake and chipper than normal for a day after the moon.
“He is over on the gannel love, on his paddle board.”
Remus plodded over he could see Romulus lying on his back on top of his board letting the current take him
“Oi bird brain!” Remus shouts at his brother, Romulus sits up a little he sees it’s his brother and flops back, a few kids were watching the interaction. Remus rolls his eyes and eyes up the water. He was wearing his swim shorts and a very baggy t shirt and he new how cold that water was. “Please don’t make me swim to you Rome, at least paddle over to me”
“No, your going to hit me” Romulus voice was a mix of shout mumble, Remus rolls his eyes
“I’m not going to hit you? Why would I hit you?’”
“Because! You know why!” Romulus was sat up right and looking like a scolded child, Remus huffed a laugh and placing his hands on his hips. Sure they were both twins but only Remus could mimic Hope lupins hands on hips and cocked eye brow signature
“I’m not-… fine. I solemnly swear I won’t hit hit”
“You sound like James”
“Shut up and paddle over here”
Remus isn’t fond of paddle boards but he trusts Romulus. Romulus kneels on the board and paddles over, Remus hops on haphazardly rocking the board a little
“Yet to find your sea legs” Romulus chuckles “I’m sorry I didn’t make it to you”
“I new you wouldn’t… how far did you get?”
“4 miles I was over Newquay and just fell out the sky, so i tired to walk back to the campsite and got lost” Romulus flopped back on the board causing it rock making Remus grab his brothers thigh
“Wow good job your not a homing pigeon then” Remus laughed “dad hugged me this morning when I got up” Romulus propped himself up on his elbows watching Remus “he asked me if I remember howling last night, he never asks me about the moons it was weird.”
“What did you tell him?”
“That I think the wolf knew you Weren’t there and it missed you” Remus stared at his hands
“Oh. Well your not as beat up today plus your awfully chipper for a guy who’s bones and skin rearranged”
“Twat” Remus pushes Romulus
“Yeah yeah. What time did dad say James and Sirius are coming?”
“Dunno, why?”
“ might head back to mum the ocean is fucking freezing today”
“Grow up you have a wet suit on”
“Still pissing cold” Romulus sat up grabbing the oar and paddling back up the gannal, Remus sat comfortably on the board dipping his fingers in the water he looks up at Romulus noticing the missing sting on his wet suit
“Your rowing back to mum cause you broke your suit” remus smiled flicking the zipper, Romulus looks back with a side eye
“No” Romulus lied
“Really, what happened to it”
“I got mad and pulled it off trying to zip it up I think it’s to small and I already used reparo on fins-“
“You brought you wand! Rome dad will murder you”
“Yeah well it’s a good thing I did! I was going to ask him if we can make my suit bigger it seems I’ve grown and I fucking shin slashers let alone ankle swingers”
Remus barked a laugh “want me to unzip you ?”
“Please” Romulus sighed leaning back enough for Remus to grab the zipper pulling it down “thank you I can breath again”
Romulus slipped the cuff off his ankle handing it to Remus as he jumped into the water, he inhaled sharply at the sudden coldness of the water. As he drags the board to the shore. Remus dismounts onto the sand
“Oh shitting hell” remus looks over at where hope and Lyall are sat,
“What?” Romulus joined him pulling his board out the water, remus turned his brothers head to look at the scene:
Mr and mrs potter immaculately dressed and not in beach attire talking with hope and Lyall with James and Sirius standing around in Victorian swimsuits, proudly.
“Oh wow, that is a swimsuit” Romulus giggles peeling the top half of his wet suit off “well might as well join them” Romulus picked up the board by the middle handles heading back to the sun shade hope pit up Remus followed grabbing the end.
“Look at what the tide washed in my two special boys” hope cooed James and Sirius perked up looking over at the lupin twins. Sirius was amazed at how cool they looked
“Dad can you make my wet suit bigger please” Romulus said. letting the board settle in the sand Remus dropped his side grabbing his towl and scurrying into the shade Lyall huffed a laugh
“And a hello to you to Romulus, like I said Monty the boys will be fine with us and you don’t need to give us any money-“ Lyall began
“I know.. I just want them to pay their way is all. Anyway James Sirius behave have fun and don’t cause any mischief understand” Fleamont gave his sons a cheeky stern smile they both nodded
“Don’t worry we will behave” James said taking a seat on the beach Matt with Sirius
The adults decided to head up to a small cafe to finish their conversation
“What are you two wearing?” Remus started looking them up and down
“What? It’s the latest in swimming fashion according to witch weekly” Sirius said looking down at the swim suits
“Yeah if your Victorian child with an opium addiction” Romulus giggled
“You can talk that thing looks way to small, plus it looks just like our suits” James commented
“That’s because it’s to small for him” Remus chided.
“And is that why people are staring ? Because of our swim suits” Sirius voice was quite as he could feel eyes on him
“Probably but then again they are looking at me in a to small wet suit” the four of them laughed

Well shit that was longer than I thought expect a more coherent story I guess

Costumes with The Bad Batch
When you bring up Halloween to The Bad Batch for the first time & ask them if they want to dress up with you, choosing costumes can be chaotic!
Rating: Pg-13 & sfw
Warnings: References of blood, a small amount of swearing, Crosshair's gets suggestive at the end (but its not explicit), Echo's hcs have self-doubt and references to his dysmorphia, kissing, cuddling, and hugging
Note: I had a lot of fun writing this one!! Thank you @donkey-rider for bouncing ideas around with me 🥺🧡🖤
Tumblr media
Tech
When you first mention the idea of dressing up for Halloween to Tech, he is not into it
“Why would I dress up if my armor is sufficient?”
Tech understands the idea of Halloween from what he has read, but at the same time he doesn’t
The only reason that he agrees to dress up is because of how sad you look after he originally denies the idea
You excitedly kissed him, before grabbing his hand to find a local costume shop, while Tech frantically tries to tell you that he still has some work to do
It was to no avail, and soon you were scanning a costume shop of poorly made costumes that were extremely overpriced
Every time you would pick up a costume, he would shake his head, and soon Tech started talking about how he could easily make something better then these ‘cheap excuses of costumes’
You raised an eyebrow at him, putting the costume back on the rack. At that moment it was decided, Tech would be making the costumes
After going to a fabrics store, Tech locked himself in the Cockpit of the Marauder, refusing to let you see what he was creating
Honestly you were scared about what he was going to choose, not that you didn’t trust him, you just had no idea where his mind was going about all of this
Dozing off, you fell asleep in the main room of the Marauder on one of the chairs
You don’t know how many hours had passed, only knowing that you heard a noise and it shook you from sleep
As your eyes opened, you saw a shadowy figure standing over you
They were wearing a bloodied lab coat, black gloves stretching up to their elbows. It almost looked as though there was a scalpel in their hand
You couldn’t help but scream, falling from your seat
“Sarad its me, its Tech-“ Tech stated while smirking at your reaction
Letting out a deep breath, you looked up at him. “You scared the shit out of me! Give me a warning next time”
Tech let out a chuckle at your fear, reaching out with his hand to pull you up
When he did, he pulled you farther then you expected, tumbling into Techs chest
You felt him lean his head down towards your ear, you shivering at how close he was
“I figured that you could be my lab assistant cyare~” Tech whispered, before pressing a kiss to the side of your face, pulling away
Walking back into the cockpit, Tech left you in a daze, staring at the closed door
Hunter
When you first mentioned Halloween and dressing up, Hunter was curious
Omega had been raving about it when she learned about your planets holiday, automatically determining that she wanted to dress up as a pumpkin
She had gotten you onboard to also dress up as a pumpkin, wanting to twin with you
The only one who didn’t have a costume was Hunter, and as much as it was out of his comfort zone, he basically had no choice
With Omega and yours begging, he finally agreed with a sigh, leading to both of you cheering
So after Omega went to sleep, you sat with Hunter, resting your head on his shoulder while you peacefully sat in each others presence
After a few moments you broke the silence, grabbing one of his hands in both of yours
“If you don’t want to dress up, you don’t have to” You quietly mention, feeling guilty for the amount of pestering that he had gone through before
Hunter automatically assured you that he wanted to dress up, just that he had no idea what he was going to dress up as
After a few moments of pondering, your eyes lit up, pulling away to look in his eyes excitedly
Rattling on you told him about your idea of him dressing up as a scarecrow! He protected both you and Omega with his life, just like a scarecrow protects his crops
Staring at you, Hunters face slowly morphed into a smile, reaching his hand out to rest it on your cheek
“I think that’s a lovely idea cyare”
Hunter didn’t say it out loud, but the fact that you saw him as your protector brought him so much joy
His face was already flushed when he pulled you in for a kiss, grateful to have you in his life
Getting his costume is a tomorrow problem, for now he just wanted to show you how he fells about you
Wrecker
Wrecker was on board the moment that you explained to him what Halloween is
You didn’t even have to ask him about dressing up, he was asking you as soon as you were done talking about it
Quickly he grabbed your hand, pulling you out of the Marauder to find a costume shop
Laughing, you calm him for a moment, telling Wrecker that it was probably a good idea to look for directions before aimlessly wandering
Pouting slightly, Wrecker stared at you as you pulled your datapad out, looking for the closest store
Glancing up at him as you waited for the directions to load, you saw his pouting face, and you lightly placed the datapad down
Moving your arms so you could cup his cheeks, you kissed him
Wrecker ending up picking you up by the waist so that he didn’t have to lean down
As you pulled away, you rested your forehead on his and let out a laugh when you heard the directions beep as they loaded up
You expected Wrecker to put you down, but he had other ideas
He moved you so that you were holding onto his back, him picking up the datapad so he could follow the directions
You couldn’t contain your laughter as he moved forward, holding on tightly as he proceeded to leave the Marauder
In true Wrecker style, he had managed to get lost (goofing around, he declared himself the true follower of the directions, and didn’t want you to help him)
But after an hour of exploration, he had finally found the store (which was 30 minutes away but shh it was fun for the both of you)
Looking through the costumes, you saw his eyes light up, pulling one from the rack
It was a pirate costume, with the hat and everything
You couldn’t contain your giggles, asking him why that costume with a slight tilt of your head
“Cyare its perfect!! Pirates like explosions, and I like explosions! I want to blow up a ship!” Wrecker had excitedly pulled you into his arms, and you were nodding at his logic. “And today! We were like pirates, we were following the map to the treasure!”
You laughed, moving closer into his side. “The treasure that we have to buy”
Wrecker jokingly elbowed your side (lightly of course), “It would be cuuuute” He drawled out, and you nodded looking up at him.
“We can be pirates Wrecker”
At that moment you could see the excitement light through his eyes, and he picked you up to press a ton of kisses to your face
Once he put you down, he went on a quest to find you a matching costume, while you watched him with a big smile on your face
You don’t know how you got so lucky with someone so pure and wonderful as Wrecker
Crosshair
When you brought up costumes to Crosshair, at first it was an automatic no
He loves you, he really does, but the idea of dressing up in public really unnerves him
So you had to brainstorm, find a compromise, and if not then you would respect Crosshairs wishes (you would never force him to do something he is uncomfortable with)
Thinking about it for a few days, it suddenly hit you what you could do
You looked around, finding Crosshair on his bunk, reading something on his datapad
Moving over to him, you sat down next to him, resting your head on his shoulder
No words were said at first, but it wasn’t awkward. It was a comfortable silence
When he turned his datapad off, focusing his attention on you, that was when you made your move
“Cross, I know that you were against the idea of dressing up for Halloween, but what if it was just the two of us?”
Crosshair raised an eyebrow at this, knowing how much you enjoyed going out for Halloween
“Are you sure doll?”
You nodded excitedly, pulling both of his hands into your own
A natural smile fell onto Crosshairs face, and he realized how much you wanted to spend the holiday with him. He couldn’t help but agree, leading to you pulling him into a kiss
He wasn’t expecting you to kiss him so quickly, you falling on top of him as he stumbled back
You couldn’t stop the giggle from falling from your mouth, hiding your face in his chest
After a moment, Crosshair wrapped his arms around you, joining you as chuckles escaped from his mouth
He pressed a kiss into your hair, before leaning back, staring up at the ceiling of the ship
Glancing up, you stared at his face, a smirk slipping onto your lips
“You should dress up as a vampire”
Cross gave you a weird look, sitting up by leaning back on his arms
“And why should I doll?”
A small laugh fell from your lips, flush settling onto your cheeks
“I mean you already bite me enough so”
Crosshairs eyes widened, and a smirk matching your own falls on his
Jokingly he pulled you against him, his mouth hovering over your neck. He pressed a small kiss, before looking up at you
“Yeah, I think I will be”
Echo
You were resting in Echo’s lap when you told him about your idea of dressing up for Halloween
His arms were wrapped around your waist, and as he rested his chin on your head, Echo pondered about what he could dress up as
“Love, I don’t know what sort of costume I could even pull off!” He mumbled, and you turned around in his lap, facing him
“You can pull off many things my dear, don’t say that” Your hand was on his cheek, trying to look into his eyes. But he was looking away, not wanting to make eye contact
“Yeah, like a droid or a monster or something,,” He muttered bitterly, and your eyes opened wide in shock. You shifted his face so that he was forced to look at you, your worried eyes on him
“Please don’t say that Eyayah,,,”
Echo’s eyes softened as you said his name in Mando’a, moving to rest his face in your shoulder
You moved your hand to his head, tracing shapes on the back of it while you felt his breathing slowly start to calm down
Quickly you reassured him that he didn’t actually have to dress up, that the two of you could stay in and watch movies or something
But you felt him shake his head against your shoulder, looking up at you
“Fives used to always joke about being a wizard”
You let out a laugh, looking down at him
“Really?” Echo nodded at this, rambling about how Fives tried to convince Hardcase that he was a wizard one day (with the help of Ahsoka of course)
The story ended with the both of you in giggles, and you rested your forehead against his to catch your breath
“You should dress up as a wizard then Eyayah”
“Only if you join me”
You nodded against his head, and Echo couldn’t help but capture your lips with his
After you both slowly moved apart, you heard him whisper a ‘thank you’ onto your lips

So, I noticed you write for Peter Pettigrew,,, I was wondering if you could write something for him and a female s/o? Where he has to introduce his incredibly shy, Hufflepuff s/o to the other Marauders. Bonus points if she’s short, like 4’11-5’0. You can ignore this if you’d prefer not to write it. Have a wonderful day.
i will always write for my baby. your wish is my command. also sorry if this isn’t what you were imagining!
Young!Peter Pettigrew x fem!reader
summary: For days Peter had been non-stop talking to his friends about his girlfriend and for the life of them, they could never catch him with her. Peter hated getting bothered by them as much as he did so to put them at ease, he arranges an introduction.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The hallways of Hogwarts were ones of great architecture and historic stories that the many portraits of old witches and wizards absolutely loved to talk and brag about. Students and ghosts alike walked along the corridors every day without really admiring it apart from when statues liked to jump out at them or portraits grabbed their attention with things varying from manic laughter to noisy singing. It truly was a work of art.
It looked like somewhere royals or people in high society back in the olden days would come to stay for their Honeymoon or just for a small change of scenery and no matter how strict the rules, how tidy the uniforms or how high the expectations, students definitely did not act as tidy or as civilised as a royal or a lady or lord would do.
A prime example would be groups of rowdy teenage boys thinking insulting innocent bystanders or making creepy comments about a girls body would be a proper thing to do in a hallway as grand as the ones in Hogwarts. Another example would be the much rowdier, much more irresponsible pranksters of Hogwarts that rivalled against the other boys in witty comments or just funny circumstances.
You often rolled your eyes at their work or mutter quietly about them under your breath when they passed, practically yelling for the whole corridor to hear unless they were about to pull a prank and whispering which is where you would normally make your leave from that particular corridor. But they seemed to be everywhere you went and you didn’t see why until a particular member of the group approached you in the Kitchens one night when you were getting your midnight snack from the house elves.
He said he liked you which made you look around for maybe a sign of the other boys in wonder if this was some sort of prank. But it wasn’t and he...actually liked you. It definitely didn’t escape your notice that the boy was one of the quiet ones and seemed to be holding his breath when he confessed. Sadly, the confession was right before the summer so all you could do was send letters over the holidays which were slightly awkward.
More so when you returned to school and found yourself glancing at each other from across the hallways before you turned and scurried off in another direction after smiling. Then he began to join you on your midnight snack journeys which developed into a beautiful relationship full of blushes, grins and soft, gentle kisses stolen before you had to separate.
Pranks your way were avoided and you were practically living in bliss until he proposed that he wanted you to meet his friends. As in the rowdy ones, as in the ones that get all the good scores no matter how hard you try and the ones that always disrupt your reading time in the library.
It was safe to say that you were  nervous because you were nothing like them, loud noises weren’t your thing and you’d much prefer to curl up next to the Black Lake with a book in your hand then join the group of boys in the Great Hall where they probably threw food at each other and if someone else's food ever touched you, you felt like you might be sick. Not to mention the fact that all of them are giants compared to you.
“They are going to love you.” Peter promised, his grip on your hand tight as he tried to drag you down the hallway whilst you planted your feet firmly to the ground. For someone so small, he was amazed at how much you can resist his pull.
“They’re going to hate me.” You argued back attempting to pull him the other way but definitely not succeeding. “I’m awkward and lonely and weird and obsessed with bees which is definitely not normal.”
“It’s cute.” He chuckled, giving up on his pulling but being pulled towards you by your grip when he had given up. You stumbled but he grabbed you arms and stabilised you before you could fall forward and hit the floor. “You’re cute.”
“I am not like them.” You took yourself out of his arms with a mutter, frowning slightly whilst Peter frowned too. “They’re loud and you’ve been friends with them forever and I’m just new. If they don’t like me then we’re gonna...”
“I’m not gonna break up with you if they don’t like you.” Peter shook his head and stepped close, his hand reaching down to tilt your chin up so he was looking down into your eyes. “They’ll love you...I promise.”
“I’m just nervous, I’ve never even thought of being friends with them. They’re just so loud and I...I’m quiet and shy and I stick my face in a book every time they come near me. I just know that they’ll find me weird, Peter.” You covered your face with you hands, shaking your head.
“Oh, baby...” He wrapped his arms around you in a hug and you welcomed it gratefully, hopefully he would listen to you...but no, Peter lifted you up and put you easily over his shoulder as you yelped and kicked your legs. “Come on.”
“Peter, no, please.” You begged as he walked down the corridor with you over his shoulders and consequently receiving a lot of stares which you shyly leant your head on his back to try and get rid of the stares. You were just happy that it was the weekend and you were wearing jeans instead of a skirt. “Pete, please put me down.”
“Not until we’re at the hall and you see how excited they are to meet you.” He laughed as you groaned at him and nuzzled your head into his back as you turned a corner. Your palms were beginning to get sweaty and you felt your breathing pick up slightly at you nervousness.
“Peter, seriously.” Your voice had retreated to a small murmur, no longer were you joking around. You really didn’t think that his friends would like you, they were confident and charming and you were reserved, flustered easily and talked about bees all the time. Hell, in the summer you were in an environmental protest against pollution whilst they were probably having fun swimming somewhere.
“You’ll be fine, angel. We’re here.” He said and slowly lowered you from his shoulder, you nervously glanced around when you noticed you were outside the Great Hall and you looked into it to see the familiar three boys sat at the Gryffindor Table. “Hey.” You looked at Peter again. “I’ll be right there with you. They may be tall and slightly intimidating but they’re nice.”
“Sirius once spilt tea on my book and didn’t apologise.”
“He’s an energetic guy, he probably didn’t notice.” Peter tilted his head and you nodded in acceptance, pursing your lips. When he did it, you didn’t confront him and just moved away mumbling under your breath and shaking out your book. “Ready?”
You hesitated as he took your hand and started walking into the Great Hall, dragging you behind him with a small grin on his face.
“No.” You finally answered, gulping and stepping closer to Peter as you got closer to the three boys flinging pieces of bread at each other.
“Too slow.” Peter grinned back at you, tugging you along and you whined, deciding to catch up to him but walk behind him in an attempt to hide from the others. You were there in no time and tucked yourself behind Peter, hoping that your size would prevent you from being seen. “Hey boys, since you’ve been asking...here she is.”
You only heard silence as you stayed behind Peter, gulping nervously.
“I fucking knew she was imaginary, I called it.” The voice of Sirius Black came from in front  of Peter before he exclaimed in pain after sounding like he was being hit with something.
Out of curiosity, you tried to peak out from behind your boyfriends shoulder as little as possible but a pair of soft brown eyes met yours instead and you found yourself frozen in place as you stared straight at Remus Lupin and he raised his eyebrows at you. You slowly went back behind Peter, knowing it was stupid because he’d seen you but you did it anyway, raised eyebrows could mean a million different things.
“She’s not imaginary, Padfoot, she’s just behind him.” Remus said and you shut your eyes in regret as your forehead fell forward and hit Peter’s back whilst he moved out of the way and you were faced with three pairs of eyes staring up at you. “Hi, I’m Remus.”
“James.”
“Sirius, but you can call me anytime.”
Peter took a daily prophet off of the table and hit him on the head with it as Sirius laughed and raised his hands in defence, you smiled awkwardly at it and avoided all eye contact. Your hand squeezed Peter’s slightly and he looked between you and his friends, frowning again.
“This is Y/N L/N, my girlfriend.” He introduced and gestured you forward slightly, you glanced up and gave a small wave at them. James was smiling at you, Remus was smiling only a little bit but mainly just examining you and Sirius narrowed his eyes at you before standing.
He towered over you and you gulped as you tilted your head up and his grey eyes examined you with a small smirk tugging at his lips. You backed up slightly, Peter’s hand on the small of your back as he stroked soft circles with his thumb. You continued to avoid eye contact.
“You are tiny.” He stated and you nodded with a small clear of your throat, your eyes trained to the floor. “Well, to me you are. I’m sure Pete has an easier time since he’s tiny too.”
“5′9 is not tiny.” Peter defended and Sirius snorted, sitting back down at his chair as you breathed out in slight relief and stood awkwardly for a second.
“Take a seat if you like, we don’t bite.” James smiled and you about to tell him that it was okay and you didn’t actually want to be there anywhere but Peter nodded encouragingly at you and you sat opposite Lupin, Peter sitting next to you and putting an arm around your waist to let you know that he was there and close.
“So how did you two meet?” Remus asked, biting a bit of his sandwich as James nodded from next to him, both of their gazes were on you and you could feel Sirius staring at you too.
You thought Peter was going to answer so you looked up at him but he was looking at you too, nodding his head and he gave your waist a quick squeeze. You gulped and turned your head back around, eyes trained to the table.
“Well, uh, I was getting...a snack at night and then he, uh, came in and yeah...yeah.” You mumbled, clearing your throat slightly and looking up at the boys before back at the table and then back up at the boys. Your hands were fidgeting together under the table and your knee was bouncing.
“You snuck all the way to the kitchens at night without getting caught?” James widened his eyes as he looked around at his friends and you glanced up, back down again and then up one more time.
“Well, I’m a- I’m a Hufflepuff so my common room is uh...right next to the kitchens.” You nodded slowly.
“Useful.” Sirius said and you glanced at him quickly, furrowing your eyebrows at his narrowed eyes as he looked at you.
“I-I don’t understand...useful for what?” You looked around at them all nervously, Sirius was the one to answer so you looked at him again and found him smirking down at you.
“Pranks.” He shrugged his shoulders, grinning and you gulped again, nodding and smiling awkwardly as you turned your head to Peter who smiled again and rubbed his hand on your waist. “So, Y/N my tiny friends tiny girlfriend, what do you like to do?”
“I’m uh, I’m a passionate advocate for environmental change.” You said, nodding as your eyes found comfort on the table once more. Glancing up once, you caught Remus’ smile as he looked at you and you awkwardly smiled back. “I like to read, anything really no genres. I love exploring different cultures and uh...I like bees.”
“Bees?” James furrowed his eyebrows with a grin as he leaned forward and you nodded awkwardly. “That’s adorable.”
“Why do you like bees?” Sirius laughed. “Is it because they’re yellow and black like your tie?”
“Well, almost 90% of wild plants and 75% of leading global crops depend on animal pollination so they do a lot for us and they look nice on the flowers in my garden.” You said and glanced up to them all smiling at you.
“I’ll have to see your garden sometime.” James mentioned and your eyes snapped over to him as your fidgeting hands slowed down but your knee kept bouncing. “I love flowers. Especially Lilies.”
The boys all laughed and even you managed to crack a small smile at James’ infamous crush on Gryffindor Lily Evans. You felt Peter’s hand squeeze your hip slightly and you looked over at him, your eyes managing to lock in comparison to how you avoided the rest of their gazes. You were sure that your cheeks were flushed at the attention you got but Peter only smiled and kissed your cheek as you scrunched your face up with an adorable smile in his opinion.
“I told you they’d love you.” He whispered into your ear, kissing  your cheek again before you both directed your attention back to Sirius’ talking.
Remus tapped his quill incessantly into his desk, unable to concentrate on his exam. A few rows away he could see Peter staring at his parchment with his fidgeting hands in his lap. He had no idea where to begin with the list of questions.
Beside him was James, a sight to behold. Not wishing to be caught by McGonagall, he only snuck a few glances at his pale friend. James was disheveled, his hair unkempt as ever but with something more unnerving – as if he didn’t even care to look at it, brush it. The effort appeared to be in his school uniform, at least he managed to fold his collar despite how wrinkled the rest of his shirt was. His tie was loose, and it remained the reason Remus knew his friend was still breathing, cause he could see it rising and falling on his chest.
He was just sitting so still. He was staring into nothing. The circles under his eyes could rival Remus’ around a full moon.
And adjacent to him was an empty desk, one that should be housing Sirius. He hadn’t even shown up for their end of year exam.
Remus sighed, feeling his quill tip dull under the pressure he prodded. At least James was able to show. He had no doubt Sirius was brooding in the corner of the common room, butterbeer in hand. Or else he was sitting beside the Blake Lake, toes turning blue as he stuck his feet in the water.
Yes, at least James came to the Great Hall to take his exam, even if he wasn’t looking at the parchment. Remus knew he was staring at the pair of girls at the other end of the hall.
There was (Y/N) and her friend Mary, each scribbling along their exams as the rest of the students should be. McGonagall began walking between the desks and Remus returned his gaze to his own scroll of transfiguration questions.
It had been a few weeks since those dreaded Easter holidays and every second had been a personal hell for the marauders. James was humbled, became extremely tolerant, and had lost his first quidditch game in years. Sirius became something more irritable; he was edgy and sought the solidarity of dark corners. He rarely socialized, couldn’t even bring himself to take the mickey out on Peter.
It was a grand awakening for James, it made him regret and change. He no longer felt the need to terrorize younger students or attack Snivellus. He was kinder to those around him and even offered to help where he could. Though he did all of it with a glazed look in his eyes and a depressed smile on his face.
Sirius, in the classic fashion of being James’ complete opposite, turned in on himself. He became self-deprecating and didn’t wish to inflict that torment on anyone else. He believed in every ounce of hate he received, in the amount of guilt he harbored. He struggled to see past the bad. His life was teeming with it.
The Great Hall doors burst open, and the flittering steps of Professor Dumbledore appeared. At his side was a very reluctant Sirius.
“Ah, Professor McGonagall,” he said with lightness that did not match the person beside him. “I believe you’re missing a student.”
“Black,” McGonagall snipped, walking towards him and eyeing his ruffled clothes, “You’re thirty minutes late.”
Sirius merely shrugged his shoulders, looking anywhere but the corner of the room (Y/N) and Mary stared.
McGonagall released a heavy sigh, though her brow modeled concern. “Well, take your seat. You’ve still got around an hour to finish the exam. I suggest you use the time wisely.” She shared a look with Dumbledore as Sirius retreated.
Remus and James followed their friend with worry in their eyes, but his desk was too far for them to ask silent questions.
Sirius merely slumped in his chair and twiddled with his quill. He may have been forced to be there, but that didn’t mean he was going to comply with the test taking. Remus forced himself to return his attention to his own exam. And the rest of the hour was filled with a ticking clock and scratching quills.
By the time McGonagall waved her wand and called forth the scrolls of parchment, Remus devised another tactic to fix the wellbeing of his companions. Instead of greeting James and Peter, he chose to wait by the door until (Y/N) came by.
She had her head held high, book bag tight on her arm.
“(Y/N).”
“Not now, Remus, I’ve got to study for Charms.” Mary was nearby, leading the way outside. “I don’t want to hear some other passed along apology.”
Remus wringed his hands, falling into step beside her, “I’m not trying to speak for them. I just want to talk to you. I – I’m worried.”
There was a small pause in her steps, but she kept forward, “It’s none of my concern.”
“But they’re not getting any better,” a new curt edge in his tone, “They’re not themselves anymore.”
“I distinctly remember saying that they don’t exist anymore. I don’t care, Remus.”
“You don’t want to care.”
She finally stopped and turned to him, “I’m moving on. And I won’t be able to keep doing that if you bring this up every time I see you.” But she hesitated at the look on his face, “Remus, what’s wrong?”
He bit the inside of his cheek, eyes full of fretting, “I know you think this was some kind of joke – and it was for a while – but I don’t think you realize how far they fell for you.”
“And that’s supposed to make what they did okay?”
“No,” he bit back, “Not at all. But what’s happening to them right now, that is proof that they regret. That they are sorry for what they did. I think they…”
(Y/N) folded her arms, clearly unimpressed, “Think they what?”
“They need a little forgiveness to get better.”
“No,” she snapped, whipping around and continuing down the entryway, “I’m glad they’re stewing in their regret. They should be.”
“For how long, (Y/N)?” Remus begged, following her steps, “I’m tired of watching them wither away.”
“Please,” she scoffed, “You were there when we had this conversation. I don’t want to see or speak to them. Ever.”
Remus felt his blood boil over, “It’s killing them, (Y/N)! And I won’t watch it anymore. I am terrified that they’re going to be like this forever. You see them, (Y/N), I know you do. You look when you think no one’s around.”
She stiffened, “What do you want me to do, Remus? I can’t forgive them – not yet at least.”
“Please, just talk to them. Make them feel less invisible.”
“I don’t know…”
Remus grabbed her shoulders and made her face him. “James keeps his snitch locked away in his trunk. Sirius gets detention and then does it without a fuss.” Her gaze was hard, but he could see it thinning. “I can’t get James to do so much as nick food from the kitchens – all he does is study like the obedient student he’s never been. I don’t think I’ve heard Sirius make a complete sentence since the holidays. He refuses to even keep company with his friends.”
She swallowed hard, “They hurt me, Remus. They hurt me bad. It’s – It’s hard for me to look past the game they played. Even if their feelings have changed.”
“Please, (Y/N), I’m begging,” he retorted. “Just talk to them, get some closure. I know you made a choice back on that train. Could you just give them some piece of mind? I’m sure it would help you too.”
She looked up at him with some remorse in her gaze, until it flitted to whatever was behind his shoulder.
He whipped around and found Sirius standing several feet away. There was a slouch in his shoulders and his hair fell across his forehead and into his eyes. But there was clear pain and longing there where he stared back.
(Y/N) took an involuntary step backward, hands winding tight around her book bag. Her breathing hitched in her throat and Remus sidestepped.
Sirius took a shaky breath, his eyes purple rimmed and stinging, “(Y/N) …”
But she had already turned on her heel and darted towards her common room. The sigh that escaped Sirius had Remus at his shoulder in an instant.
~~~
There was no one else on the quidditch pitch when she sat in the stands. She sat there and waited, her heart thumping a thousand beats a second. She knew he’d be walking by any minute; he always did on the weekends.
She could hear footsteps thumping against the grass and a chill went up her spine. James came around the corner, kicking dandelions as he went. But his steps faltered, his eyes went wide.
“(Y/N)?”
The edge of fear in his voice put a familiar thump in her chest, “Hey, James.”
His breathing got heavier, his hands running up to tangle in his hair, “You… you’re not running away.”
“I wanted to talk.”
After spending so much time avoiding him, it was a shock to see the state of him. His glasses hid most of the tiredness in his eyes, but he was pale, paler than usual. His voice was raspy where he choked on the words.
“Talk?” She patted the seat next to her and watched him weigh whether or not she was joking before sitting. “Had a change of heart?”
She took a deep breath, keeping her hands tight in her lap. “I’ve… I’ve been thinking a lot about the last time we talked. What I said to you.”
“It’s all right, (Y/N). You were right – you had the right to be angry. I’m just… I’m glad we’re talking now.”
She turned to him and was met with a pained grimace, “I think you need to hear me say it.” He shut his mouth real quick. “James, what you did was horrible, terrible. I thought of it as unforgiveable. But if there’s anything that could’ve proven to me that you guys felt differently about the joke, it’s how you guys have been behaving the last few weeks.
“I think I’ve been punishing you because of my own embarrassment. But honestly – this grudge holding deal isn’t healthy for either of us.”
“You’re looking better than any of us,” James laughed, disbelief ringing in his ears.
She smiled his favorite smile, “I forgive you James.”
He sighed, leaning over and putting his head in his hands. “Thank you, (Y/N), thank you.” He turned to her with an earsplitting grin, “I know I was stupid and arrogant, and it was just some childish bet. We didn’t think about the people we would hurt.”
She started to laugh, “I know, James – that’s why you’re forgiven.” But then she caught the subtle look in his eyes, and she had to suck in her lips. “Look James…”
“It wasn’t going to be me, was it?” the understanding in his voice was remarkable.
“You’re not mad?”
He leaned back, rubbing his tired eyes beneath his glasses, “Mad? You’ve just forgiven me from one of the stupidest things I’ve ever done – of course I’m not mad.”
(Y/N) ran sweaty hands against her knees, “I think you should talk to Lily.” That made his eyebrows raise, “Ever since you’ve knocked down your ego a few notches, she’s started seeing the good in you.”
A newfound smile crept onto his face, “There might be a happy ending for us all yet. Have you told… Sirius?” The stillness of her expression gave the answer away, “You know, I think he’s been far worse than me. You’re going to want to find him quick.”
She shared a glance with him and an appreciative smile, “It’s so good to talk to you again.”
~~~
It didn’t take her long to track down Sirius, he hid out in only a few different places those days. She kept James beside her, each taking turns talking and catching the other up on all they’ve missed. They trailed down the corridor, James falling easily back into how things used to be with (Y/N).
“Let me carry your book bag.”
“James…” The edge in her voice made him laugh, even more as she raised a brow.
“I’m just being friendly, just like we used to.”
And with a comforting feeling of nostalgia, she handed her bag over, giving him a swift punch to the arm for good measure. He rubbed the spot mockingly with a dramatic whine on his lips.
“So how do you suppose I should talk to Evans?”
“You can start by calling her by her first name.”
“She likes being called Evans.”
“Since when has she liked anything you do, James?”
He shrugged half-heartedly, “Just recently, if my sources are correct.”
(Y/N) sighed with an easy smile on her face, “You made friends with me fairly quickly. I’m sure you’ll think of something.”
James pondered with an animated look, “All right, you want to make a bet? How fast I’ll win Lily’s affections?”
“Too soon, Potter – way too soon.” But she was smiling, nonetheless. So much so that she didn’t notice the new visitor coming down the hall.
They were on their way towards one of the secret entrances that the Marauders discovered for their map of mischief. There was always the chance of finding one of the quartet skulking in the entryway or hiding along the passage in case Filch or Minnie was after them.
It appeared Sirius had taken such refuge, deciding to come out when he heard familiar voices. And the sight before him took what shattered glass his chest was and refine it to sand.
(Y/N) and James were walking side by side, laughing and talking as if no time had passed between the Easter holidays and now. Then deep in his gut, he knew, (Y/N) had chosen James – it was James from the beginning.
She chose to forgive James and now they were going to live happily ever after.
And Sirius was left to despair in painful silence.
(Y/N) looked up and found her sweet smile vanish instantly. James was quick to follow, readjusting the bag on his shoulder. He swallowed hard, as if the words he was just saying were suddenly lodged in his throat.
“Back at it, I see.” The hoarseness in Sirius’ voice was heart wrenching.
James flickered his eyes towards (Y/N), noticing her shock, and saying, “How are you, mate? It’s been a bit.”
“A bit.” Sirius muttered, repeating the last words with a hardened gaze. “You’ve moved on since last I saw you.”
(Y/N) couldn’t bear to hear the betrayal and anguish in his words. She knew what it looked like. Like she had chosen James and didn’t want to waste her time keeping Sirius in her life.
“Sirius.”
The way she said his name sent a flood of emotion in him that Sirius didn’t like. He didn’t like not being in control of his emotions. He didn’t like that he couldn’t hold himself together. He hated the fact that seeing her looking back at him after all this time was crumbling him as if she’d yelled at him all over again.
“I won’t bother you. Enjoy your evening.” And Sirius turned as quickly as his sleep deprived, wobbly knees would let him, and leave the corridor.
(Y/N) took one step forward and hesitated, a hand outstretched, but the words wouldn’t form from her jumbled thoughts. There was only a look of horror as she watched him leave. James was eyeing her with sympathy, his heart just as punctured by Sirius’ obvious loathing.
“Look at your face,” he feigned a smirk, “You really do care about him, don’t you?”
She finally shut her gapping mouth, biting her lip, “Now more than ever.”
James nodded, putting an arm around her shoulders and leaning down to whisper, “Then go after him.”
In an instant she was running down the corridor, turning sharp and feeling her shoes slide from her momentum. Her throat was dry, and her eyes burned, but she ran like there was nothing else in the world that mattered.
And there was Sirius about to make his way outside and to the courtyard. But she yelled for him first.
“Sirius!”
When he turned there were obvious tears in his eyes, tears that betrayed him and fell at the sound of her voice.
“Sirius, wait, please!”
He could only dare to imagine what she meant by that. But it was enough to keep him rooted to the spot. She was talking to him for the first time in weeks. She was looking at him with something other than hatred.
And the fine sand of his chest rustled with hope against his wishes.
(Y/N) ran so fast that when she collided with him, he was almost knocked off his feet. She wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him tight against her.
His breathing quickly began to rise to match hers, though he wasn’t the one who had just ran down the stretch of a few corridors. His arms remained limp at his sides, disbelief etching every part of his face.
Only to feel the doubt creep in.
She just wanted to clear the air, so it wasn’t awkward for James and her. She wanted him to be happy for her and James. She wanted them to be friends again.
The problem was that he wasn’t going to survive witnessing those two together.
“(Y/N), don’t do that.” He reluctantly reached for her arms and pulled her away, “You can’t do that.”
He was oblivious to the immediate confusion in her reddened face, “What are you talking about, Sirius? Do you not want me anymore?” Again he didn’t notice how her eyes began to fill with tears similar to his.
He dared to look at her face, to see the features he’d been dreaming about for weeks. He let his gaze linger despite the yelling in his head to spare himself from the pain that would later come. Another hot tear escaped the corner of his eye.
“How could you ever think that?”
She sighed out an exhausted breath, “You are determined to stay unhappy, aren’t you?” When his loving gaze faltered into confusion, she continued, “Sirius, what you saw back there… that was James and I being friends. I just spoke to him this morning and we made up. We decided to be friends again, and to just be friends. The only reason I spoke to him first was because… well, I was more nervous about talking to you.”
Sirius was too busy going over what he had seen earlier, analyzing the interactions between (Y/N) and James.
“Sirius, what happened between us was horrible. I was so hurt that I didn’t give any thought to how you felt. Obviously, an entire school year is a long time to spend with one person, and I’m sure pretending became real very quickly.”
He swallowed thickly, his eyes itchy from the tears. But he didn’t dare speak, it was all too good to be true. He didn’t want to wake up from whatever dream this was.
“I forgive you, Sirius.”
He let out an unexpected breath, blinking fast – he was not ready for it. His hands clenched into fists as she took another step closer.
“I forgive you – and it’s been paining me to see you like this. That I did this to you.”
“I did this to myself,” he rasped, “You could never do anything so cruel. Nothing I didn’t deserve.”
Then she was holding his face in her hands, wiping away his tears. She felt her heart skip at the way his eyes closed, and he leaned into her palm. “I want to make things right.”
He reached up and placed a trembling hand over one of hers. “Friends again?”
She smiled an easy smile that heated his face. “Actually…” And she encased his lips with hers. She could feel the stutter in his breath from shock. His limp arms hesitantly rose to graze her waist, unable to will himself over completely.
She broke away, pecking his lips once – twice – more. “Does that tell you plain enough?”
He was trying his best to get his breathing under control. His lower lip was starting to quiver, “So… just friends then?” A smile broke out on those trembling lips.
“Right,” she laughed, wrapping herself around him again, hugging him tightly. And this time he returned the feeling, holding her close by the waist. “I made my choice a long time ago. It’s just taken me a while to figure out how to tell you.”
Sirius buried his face into her shoulder, feeling his chest begin to repair itself. His heart thumped excitedly.
There was no possible way he was going to let go of her any time soon.
-You received your acceptance letter to Hogwarts and your parents were so proud and happy for you -You headed to Diagon Alley to shop for your needs -It was fun and colorful unlike anything you have never seen before -You watched as you leave your teary eyed parents and headed to look for a vacant compartment -You saw a boy whose hair was wavy and wore a maroon coat -”Can I sit here? All other compartments were vacant if you don’t mind.” -The boy seem to be in a cheery mood as he extended his arm out in front of you as you sat opposite to him “I’m James Potter.”  -”I’m Y/n L/n” you two talked for hours until you both arrived at Hogwarts -James didn’t left your side as all of you first years were walking to a staircase -”Good Evening Children, I am Professor McGonagall.” You looked at her hat down to her dark green robes -As she continued on she opened two heavy doors only to be welcomed inside the Great Hall  -”Now I will be calling one student and you must sit here on this stool as I place the sorting hat to sort you into your houses.” “There are four houses,there are Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw.” -She had the hat on her other hand and the other was a scroll  -”Sirius Black” You looked at a boy who had dark hair and pale complexion who seems to be rather intimidating. -You watched how it was going to be until the hat spoke “Gryffindor!” The table where the Gryffindor’s all sat roared out and welcomed at boy.  -”James Potter” you felt James’s hand squeezed your hand, his hand felt rather cold.  -”Don’t be nervous.” You whispered to him, he just smiled and released a heavy breath. -”I just wish we are sorted in the same house Y/n.” You felt your heart leap with what he just said and you smiled at him.  -He step up and sat on the stool, he kept his eyes on you and you just smiled at him in hopes this would help him ease up. Until the hat spoke again “Gryffindor!” -He smiled brightly and instantly bolted down and run towards the Gryffindor’s table. -”Y/n L/n” Your eyes went wide as saucers, but you remain calm and walk up sitting on the stool you couldn’t look up to meet anyone’s eyes you just stared down at your feet.  -”Hmm, I have never seen such as this as before. Very interesting.” The hat made you nervous and your palms started to sweat. -”SLYTHERIN!” You looked up to the table were Slytherin sat they all stood up and cheered for you, the prefect welcomed you and you smiled at them, you sat next to a black haired girl. You look in front of you to see James who was already looking at you and smiled at you. -”I guess were not the same houses.” you mumbled under your breathe. -Days passed on you and James would still be seen together, playing around, him always asking others if they have seen you, and times wherein he pulls you to sit next to him in the Gryffindor’s table. -years went on and you became close with Remus and Sirius and Peter, although you learned why Sirius was somewhat avoiding you first but he warmed up to you eventually learning the truth about his life and his family and he trusted you.  -But as years went on you realize you grew feelings for James and that he was in oblivion about it, you too would always be together despite that they bully Snape and other Slytherin you were the exception because to them you weren’t anyone like them Sirius even joked that the hat made a wrong choice to place you in Slytherin. -In your 7th year you just became miserable, you lost your father and your mother was too busy that in the holiday break you don’t get to see her  -You stay with the Potter’s even thought you insisted not to but James literally begged for you to join him and Pads -He still made you happy despite the lost you just had -In the Gryffindor dorm party only the Marauders and the other friends they had were invited and of course James tagged you along. -Surprisingly James didn’t sat next to you like he usually does but you just shrugged it off but it was hard when he seems to be having fun with this red hair girl, that every second he was whispering something to her ear and you felt jealous. -It was Remus who saw you watching them from the other side of the room. -”Ah James, fancy with all the ladies you know him but he doesn’t stick to long with them.” Remus just cracked up jokes to make you laugh to also divert your attention away from the two. -The very next morning came and you sat at the Gryffindor table because Peter, Sirius and Remus said so because James told them that he has an important news to tell. -”Good morning lads.” James said seemingly in a good mood in the morning you looked at him and he looked at you but he was smiling over something -”What’s with the smile Prongs?” Peter asked him while he took bites on his toast. -James cocked his head to the side as he just continue to smile to himself -”Your scaring us what’s with you and how are you even this happy we have double period in Potions that’s not fun.” Sirius said  -”I’m dating Lily.” He said out of blue which made you choke on your pumpkin juice -Peter passed you napkins and you thanked him, you look at him in disbelief but deep down you were hurt. -”Congrats Prongs!” Sirius said out loud causing the others to look at our table -”What? My best friend finally got the girl!” Sirius said to everyone as they all cheered just the right time Lily entered the Great Hall and I look down at my own food that doesn’t seem so appetizing anymore. -”I’m happy for you James, please excuse me.” You walked out of the great hall and passed by Lily. -You sat in the Black Lake, the tears kept falling down your cheeks and you were fully sobbing your heart out. -You clutched your chest and felt the pain in your heart. -Trying to silent the sobs escaping your lips you bit your lip as hard as you could. -Burying your face on your knees, you cried and cried until you stopped you know you missed a lot of your class period but you couldn’t careless when you feel like this. -”I guess if only I was in Gryffindor maybe things would’ve been different.” You mumbled to yourself.  -But now in present time, you look down at James and Lily’s tomb you released a sigh  -You still remember the days when you were all still so young, the fun, and laughter the love and memories you all had. Placing a hand on your lips and placing it on the tomb no matter how hurt you were you just knew it was never going to be. -”Farewell.” You stood up and walked away, unaware that Harry and Hermione would be in the same spot you were standing a few seconds after you just left.
“Are we on a date right now?” Chapter 2
So I had planned on this being a one-time tumblr prompt, but @whiffingbooks left me a kind comment that gave me the creative love I needed to keep going. Thank you so much!! This isn’t exactly what I planned it to be, but I ended up really liking where it went, I hope you do too.
And a special shout out to @narukoibito who is a treasure trove of writing advice, and was so kind to give me some guidance on this fic. I couldn’t have done it without you :’)
AO3
Ginny held the door open for Harry, a small smile on her lips as she looked back at him. As he walked through the door he wrapped his scarf tighter around his face, whether he did so because of the January cold or to hide his excessive grin was up for debate.
It isn’t like he could help it really, he’d just spent the entire afternoon with Ginny. The thought of her brought his eyes to her form, she was keeping a steady pace beside him while Demelza, Luna, and Adeline walked ahead laughing.
They fell into a steady rhythm together, hanging back from the others as they walked to the castle. It felt so natural to be alongside her and their silence felt comfortable. There was something about her quiet confidence that made him feel at ease, maybe even made him feel -
“You know Harry, I would’ve thought that the boy who lived would be better at getting out of a tight spot.” Ginny started to dig into him with her signature smirk.
“Well Voldemort’s usually casting spells at me, not giving me cheek.” Harry retorted quickly, “Honestly, Gin. I didn’t think you were going to give me a break back there.”
“Actually, I went pretty easy on you. I could’ve been a lot worse.” She sent a wink his way, and Harry felt something flip inside his stomach.
“Merlin,” his voice came out choked, “Remind me to always stay in your good graces then.”
Ginny laughed, “Aye aye Cap’n.” She said as they started up the castle steps.
Harry followed closely behind her as she reached the doors and made her way into the entrance hall. They’d made it back to the castle a bit too quickly for his liking, he wondered if he should invite her to sit with him at dinner or if she would just follow him anyway.
“Oi! Harry, Ginny!” Ron’s yelling pulled Harry back to reality. Ron was walking toward the two of them with Hermione in tow.
“You two get everything sorted then?” Harry asked as the four gryffindors converged in the center of the hall.
Ron scoffed as Hermione began to explain, “Well, it all seemed to be in order until we got back to the castle, and then Jacobsen tore off running-”
“And Hermione wouldn’t let me levicorpus his arse-”
“Ronald!”
“Would an offendo trip jinx have been more appropriate?” Harry tried to phrase it as an honest question, but Hermione still sent him a look that made him wither.
“You two are incorrigible children, I don’t know how-”
“See you three around then,” Ginny cut in on Hermione's tirade, for which Harry felt grateful for, he didn’t exactly feel in the mood to be lectured before dinner. Then, Ginny turned her sparkling eyes on him, “And do let me know when our next date is Harry.”
As Harry felt the color drain from his face he decided he wasn’t so grateful she’d cut in any longer.
“What did she just say?” Ron’s words rushed out all too quickly.
Harry turned ever so slowly to his best friends, he had only moments to look at them before the assault started. Hermione had what seemed to be a mix of smugness and surprise across her face, while Ron’s mouth was just a gaping hole .
“It’s about time honestly.” Hermione seemed to recover quicker than Ron did, “Although I thought it would be another couple of months, still I am very-”
“A date? With Ginny?” Ron looked positively gobsmacked.
“Err, not really,” Harry ruffled his hair, “See the thing is, after you lot deserted me-”
“We were doing our civic duty, Harry!”
“Yes, that. Well when you left me to fend for myself,” Harry chose to ignore Hermione’s scoff and just continue on, “Romilda found me and I panicked. But well Ginny was there, So I err, pretended to be on a date with her to get Romilda off my back.”
Hermione’s eyes narrowed, “And what exactly did Ginny do?”
Harry thought back to the way Ginny’s eyebrows flew up as he begged her to save him. The way she smirked as he struggled to find an excuse and the way her lips-
“Harry! This is crucial information here.”
“Sorry right, She err didn’t let me get off that easy. Shot down every excuse I lined up, and even went so far as to say we snogged. And that’s what really buggered Romilda-”
“SNOGGING. If I catch you with your hands on her like Dean-”
“Oh finally Harry! Did the two of you really kiss?”
Ron and Hermione had both reacted very differently but with equal enthusiasm and at the same time. The two of them whipped their heads around to glare at the other, Harry felt the storm coming before it even started.
“What do you mean finally?” Ron said fiercely, “Ginny gave up on Harry ages ago.”
“I wasn’t talking about Ginny,” Hermione rolled her eyes, “I was talking about Harry.”
Ron’s eyes grew large, “Harry? Harry doesn’t fancy Ginny? Are you daft?”
Hermione’s laugh was nothing compared to the pitiful look she sent at Harry. “I’m daft? Ron, don’t tell me you haven’t seen it.” She pointed a finger and Harry, “He has been pining after her for months now.
So this was his life now? He, Harry Potter, the chosen one, who was tasked with recovering important information about Voldemort, and uncovering Draco’s secret plot, was standing here watching his best mates bicker over his feelings. Surely this could not be happening, but indeed, it was.
“I would’ve noticed if my best mate had taken a fancy to my little sister.” Ron barked.
“You’re about 7 months late! Haven’t you noticed the way his eyes follow her, or how he perks up when she walks into the room?”
Perked up? Was he really perky around Ginny, that didn’t seem the right word.
“They are friends ‘Mione.” Ron rolled his eyes, “Don’t you think I know Harry well enough to know when he’s after a girl?”
“Friends don’t get hit by bludgers at quidditch practice because they are too busy staring at one another, and friends don’t sit nearly on one another’s laps at your mother’s house over the Holidays.”
Alright that was a step too far. “OI” Harry shouted, pushing between his friends who had been standing awfully close during their bickering, “Do we really need to have a round table about my love life?”
His outburst seemed to snap the two back to their senses. Ron’s ears burned red, and Hermione started to twirl a section of her hair. The two muttered their apologies while Harry shook his head at them.
“Excellent, now that’s over with can we eat now?” Harry gestured toward the doors to the Great Hall and the three of them set off.
Unbelievable, he was hit one time by a bludger during practice, and it was only because he was coaching. He was meant to be watching Ginny’s play, he wasn’t distracted by her. And there were a lot of people at the Burrow this Christmas, he had to sit close to Ginny so there was enough room for everyone else. And what was Hermione talking about, 7 months? He shook his head at himself as he sat down on the bench next to Ron, had he truly been so obvious?
“Harry?”
“Yeah, mate?”
“If you need to ogle Ginny at all, she’s just up there.” Ron pointed directly at Ginny before dissolving into a cackling fit.
“Oh bugger off” Harry muttered while shoving Ron.
----
Harry assumed that his days would get back to normal rather quickly after the previous day, true to form, it did not. It seemed Ron and Hermione’s reaction was a direct indication of how the rest of the school would behave.
Despite having broken up with Ginny 2 months prior, Dean was now sending him glares every chance he could. A pair of younger gryffindor boys asked him if Ginny was a better kisser than Cho on his way to breakfast, while Ron buckled over laughing. As he walked to potions a charmed note informed him that he was leaving a trail of broken hearts by taking Ginny as his lover.
It was at dinner, around the fifth time someone congratulated him on finally asking Ginny out, that the the grin on Hermione’s face was just too much for Harry to handle.
“That’s it.” Harry slammed his fist on the table, “I’ve got to find her.”
“At least give us the map!” Ron shouted, “We’d hate to walk in on the two of you!”
Harry threw him a rude gesture over his shoulder as he marched out, which only seemed to make Ron laugh harder.
As he stormed away from the Great Hall, Harry whipped out the Marauders Map to locate Ginny walking out of potions. Harry increased his pace, only focused on Ginny as he made his way to the lower levels of the castle. Finally, he rounded a corner and came face to face with the Hufflepuff and Gryffindor 5th years.
Immediately his eyes zeroed in on Ginny and her glinting copper hair, he pushed through the crowd and stopped in front of her. She had been in the middle of a conversation with Demelza, before quirking an eyebrow at his sudden appearance.
And dammit, he was really starting to like that look on her.
“We need to talk,” Harry’s voice came out heavy and low, which pulled Ginny’s eyebrow up higher on her freckled face.
A chorus of wolf whistles sounded as her peers walked around them.
“Go easy on her Cap.” Demelza said, patting his shoulder as she walked away with the crowd.
Harry gestured to an empty classroom on his left, Ginny gave a small bow and headed through the door. Once Harry walked through the door he flicked his wand and the door slammed shut.
“A bit eager this evening, aren’t we Mr. Potter?” Ginny was leaning up against a desk with a smirk and that damn eyebrow up again.
“Now is not the time, Gin.” Harry shook his head, they were in a right mess.
“Can we reschedule then?”
Harry felt his jaw slacken at her words, did she just? He searched her face and found her eyes dark and deep on him, his mouth fell a little further. A bit of a strangled noise came from his throat, Harry quickly shook his head again.
“Ginny, I..
“What is it you wanted to talk about?” Her arms crossed over her chest as her eyes took on a guarded glint.
Harry looked at the floor before willing the courage to talk to her again. “The whole school is gone barmy! I’ve been accosted all day, blokes want to know what it’s like to kiss you. I’ve been asked maybe a hundred times how I asked you to be my girlfriend, and the whole team is on me about it too. I feel like I’m going mad.”
Ginny laughed, an actual laugh that started deep in her stomach and radiated out through her lungs and mouth. Harry felt like he missed the joke.
“Sorry, It’s just” Ginny said between fits of laughter, “You’ve gotten yourself into a real predicament Harry.”
“Me? You’re the one who told her we’d snogged for ages” Harry felt his neck flush as he alluded to kissing Ginny.
“True, but you are the one nearly knocked me over for a fake date.” Her eyes were still full of mirth as she turned the blame on him again.
“Okay fine, it’s both of us. But what are we going to do now?”
“What do you mean?”
“I just,” Harry rubbed the back of his neck, “I dunno, haven’t people been asking you things to?” She nodded. “What did you tell them?”
“I haven’t told anyone anything, have you?” She asked him, Harry shook his head in response. “Well then, what is there to do?”
Harry looked at her for a moment, his head spinning. The whole school thought he was dating Ginny Weasley, which on the one hand was brilliant. Wasn’t this what he’d wanted? To be closer to her, to have someone mention their names together, to be someone she would want to snog?
“What if we just carried on,” He began tentatively, “Just let them think we are together, and we could act the part?”
“Are you saying we should pretend to be in a relationship?” Her brows furrowed and her arms came to rest at her sides.
“Well what’s the other option? Just ignore them? Come on they’re relentless.” Harry pleaded with his brain to not let any true feelings slip. “Stage a break up? They would talk about it for ages, it would be almost worse?”
Ginny watched him explain with a collected expression on her face, Harry felt nervous all over again under her gaze. She took a step closer to him, bringing her close enough to embrace.
 “Maybe it’s the only way, to erm, pretend?”
Ginny’s eyes roved along his face, but her expression was completely blank, the moment began to last too long. Harry shifted uncomfortably on his feet.
“Could you really do that?” Her eyes pierced him as she posed the question. “Do you really think you could fake being in a relationship with me?”
Harry opened his mouth to reply but stopped at the sight of Ginny shaking her head. “You couldn’t, it’s not like you.”
Harry felt his brow furrow, of course he could, it’s what he wanted? To be around her constantly, to be the one went to Hogsmeade with, to walk hand in hand around the castle, and run his fingers through her deep red locks.
She took a half a step forward before looking him carefully in the eyes. “The Harry I know, would never. He is either all in or all out. This fake dating scheme? That's only half in, it would kill you.” He felt her eyes scan his face again.
“You know that right? You have to know that it wouldn’t be good,” her eyes fell quickly to her hands before coming back up to his eyes, “not for either of us.”
Harry took in her gaze, the way she was staring at him was paralyzing his body. He could barely breathe with her this close to him, her flowery scent was overpowering as she continued to search his face. He knew she was right, he couldn’t do it. How could he be with her unless it was 100% Ginny? Putting on a face in front of everyone else, and then what? Nothing probably, it would be torture. How was it she knew him better than he knew himself?
He must have taken too long to respond because she started to back away from him, her eyes down cast.
“Ginny, wait.” Harry took three large strides toward her again, easily bringing them back to their previous closeness. “Could you do it? Would you be able to pretend to be with me?” It was his turn to survey her face for anything, any semblance of emotion.
Her face was calm and cool as she looked back at him, ever so slightly she shook her head. “No, I couldn’t. You mean too much to me to even, It’s just, you’re one of my best friends, I can’t…” Her words slowly drifted off.
Harry nodded slowly too, now hyper aware of how close they were to each other. Ginny’s eyes took on a steely glint as she turned around and walked to the door. Her hand touched the door before she turned around.
“If anyone asks, I’ll tell them it was just a one time thing. We’re friends.” Her words were calculated.
Harry nodded, “Friends” he murmured as the door closed softly behind her.
This or That Part 5
Harry Potter AU Marauders ERA
Link to Part 4
Pairings: Regulus Black x Reader. Sirius Black x Reader
Rating: T
______
2 months…
It had been two months since you had officially begun dating Regulus. As you expected, there was a lot of talking when word of your relationship officially got out. A few stupid boys from your own house decided to make teasing comments about you dating a Slytherin and ended up getting hexed by Regulus. No one was about to mess with Regulus and his reputation.
The only complaint was the lack of physical intimacy in your relationship. When Regulus said that he was taking things slow, he wasn’t kidding. You wondered if Regulus thought you were a slut because you had been hinting about the next level of your relationship for some time.
What if he thinks I’m a whore? Am I whore for wanting to be with him?
The thoughts plagued you almost non-stop! Regulus had been trying to prove to you that he could change but not everything was perfect.
“Christmas is coming up.”
Lily said casually one morning over breakfast. You looked up from the book that Regulus had put down in front of you. Lily’s comment didn’t seem to register with your boyfriend. You knew that Regulus still wasn’t 100% on Lily. He had finally stopped trying to call her a mudblood (after a lot of nasty arguments between the two of you) and was now calling her by her name.
“Yeah, it is. What are your plans?”
You asked. Lily took a sip of her juice giving you a wink. She was partially trying to help get information out of Regulus. You had been hoping that he would take up your offer of going home with you for the holiday. Your parents were over the moon happy with the fact that you finally got a boyfriend. Regulus, on the other hand, wasn’t so sure about the idea of meeting parents so fast was a good idea.
“I’m going home. Maybe we can all get together and do something before we come back to school. What are your plans, Y/n?”
Your eyes flickered to Regulus’ hopefully. His grey eyes didn’t move from the book.
“I’m going home too. James had mentioned that his parents were having a party.”
James nodded as he and Sirius sat down. You noted how Sirius and Regulus still acted as though the other didn’t exist. It didn’t matter how much you begged either boy to give the other brother a chance either.
“Yep, it's going to be lit...well as it can be with one’s parents hovering.”
“We can still have a good time. Y/n, are you coming?”
Sirius asked, with a smirk. If he could just get you alone without your little shadow maybe he could win you over? He still didn’t understand what you saw in Regulus. The two of you seemed like such an awkward couple. Regulus wouldn’t kiss you in public. He acted as if you holding his hand was going to kill him. All that Regulus seemed to be comfortable with was to pull you into a broom closet whenever the mood suited him. Sirius had quit looking at the map when you were on a date with Regulus. All that Sirius saw was your names in broom closets or on top of the astronomy tower for long periods of time.
Some romance.
Sirius thought bitterly as you turned in his direction.
“Remus and I will be there.”
That got Regulus’ attention. His eyes were on you. On your last date, you had mentioned the party but you only were thinking about going. Now that you were going and Sirius was going...Regulus was concerned. He didn’t like the fact that you were still friendly with Sirius. Regulus was jealous and he didn't know why. Maybe it was the worry that he would end up losing you to Sirius in the end.
Why wouldn’t she want Sirius? He isn’t uncomfortable with kissing her in public or touching her for that matter…
Regulus thought gloomily before sliding his hand on top of yours. You scooted closer to him practically begging him for any kind of physical affection that he would give. Regulus still wasn’t for sure how to tell you that he wasn’t completely comfortable with snogging you in front of other people. Should that be saved for private?
James had picked up on the mood between Regulus and Sirius right away.
“Regulus, I know that you don’t have much to say about anything but if you can get away from your crazy parents you can come with Y/n.”
“Thanks but I have plans.”
Regulus replied. You quickly turned to him.
“What plans? I thought that we were going to do something.”
Regulus didn’t turn in your direction.
“Something came up.”
“When were you going to tell me?”
You asked, ignoring your friends who were now focused on the brewing spat between the two of you.
“Later.”
Regulus replied, finally meeting your gaze. He knew that you were put out.
“I have to get going anyway. I need to see Professor Slughorn about an essay.”
You said as you gently let go of Regulus’ hand.
“I’ll come with you.”
He said, calmly.
As soon as the two of you were out of the great hall, Regulus stopped walking and tugged you into an empty classroom.
“What was that back there?”
“Nothing.”
You said. Regulus put his books down before tilting your face to his. Even though you were a tad annoyed with him, Regulus could still win you over with one little smile.
“I’m going to miss you too.”
Regulus leaned down and snuggled his face into your hair. He had to get in control of the situation...fast! Over the past few months, Regulus was trying to be less of a control freak and more spontaneous. This was proving to be difficult for him.
“We better go. We’ll be late.”
You said with a sigh. Why you were so moody was a mixture of things. You had been hoping to have someone on one time with Regulus that you couldn’t have at school. You were tired of hiding in a dark abandoned classroom to get any kind of physical contact with your boyfriend. Sure, these make-out sessions were heated and often left you panting but you wanted more. You loved the way Regulus’ hands were beginning to get braver with each day but he wasn’t being as brave as you wanted.
Maybe he was just trying to be a gentleman and not push you into something that you weren't ready for? You were trying to give him some credit there. Regulus would probably be a perfectionist when it came to your first time. There was also the knowledge of his own disastrous “first time” with his ex Ambrosia Parkinson that was making him take things slow with you?
Ambrosia was another delicate subject that Regulus didn’t discuss often. His ex was a bratty nightmare on two legs. In your mind, she used Regulus. She used him to say that she was dating a member of the Black family then discarded him when she didn’t get way on everything. Regulus, no matter who the woman was, was not going to be easily walked over. You thanked his “control freak” nature for that one.
Ambrosia hated you too. She and Evan Rosier were on the same page that Regulus was wasting his time on you. Whenever either Ambrosia or Evan saw the two of you together they would automatically try to pull Regulus away.
Your own dislike of Evan Rosier came flooding in. You were already thinking negative things of parts of Regulus’ life before you so why not let Evan join in. Regulus knew that you didn't’ like Evan but he wasn’t about to drop his best friend since childhood (and you didn’t expect him to) but he could tell Evan to shut his gigantic trap from time to time.
Regulus kissing your forehead pulled you from your thoughts.
“You look so unhappy.”
You shook your head.
“Can we just drop it and go to potions?”
Regulus sighed and held out his arm.
“Fine.”
As usual, once in Slughorn’s room, Regulus went off to join Evan and his other friends. Snape gave you a nod when the two of you locked gazes. He and, sometimes, Barty was okay. You could deal with Snape better because of his friendship with Lily. That was probably the only reason that he found you so acceptable when it came to Regulus.
“You look all hot and bothered.”
Lily said with a smile. She had come into help with that particular day’s lesson and plopped down beside you.
“I’m just annoyed. Regulus is confusing.”
Lily lightly laughed.
“What boy isn’t? What is he doing?”
You glanced over your shoulder and met Regulus’ gaze. It was as if he knew that you were talking about him.
“Lily, how long did it take for James and yourself to get past second base?”
Lily really laughed on that one.
“That depends if you are asking James or myself. I will say a fair amount of time. James would try to convince you it was years. Have you and Regulus…”
You shook your head.
“No, it isn’t for my lack of not wanting to. I keep telling him that I am ready but he stops when it gets too far. This may be childish but I am wondering if he still cares for...her.”
Lily knew automatically who you were talking about. She glared in Ambrosia’s direction. The girl was still looking at Regulus hopefully.
“I don’t think that you have anything to worry about. If Regulus didn’t care for you I don’t think that he would have stepped outside of his comfort zone the way that he has. Besides, you aren’t named after a fruit salad. What were her parents thinking?”
Lily was relieved when you smiled at that. She understood your moody feelings. You wanted to spend time with Regulus over the holiday break; she didn’t put it past you to have something special already planned. Lily’s heart hurt knowing that those special plans had been crushed by whatever better opportunity came up for Regulus.
“Thanks, Lily.”
You said with a smile as Slughorn stepped in to begin his lesson.
After the lesson was over Slughorn gave out his reminder for his “Slug club” members that his Christmas party was the next evening. Regulus has asked you to go with him right after the two of you began dating. This was one thing that you were at least thankful for. Even if Regulus hadn’t asked you, you would have gone. Slughorn was over the moon for you as a student. When he found out that you were dating Regulus, the old man seemed thrilled.
You stood up to go to the door and wait for Regulus. The moment that you turned in his direction, you wished that you hadn’t. Ambrosia had her arms around Regulus’ shoulders and was kissing him like the world was about to end. Your mouth fell open in shock as Regulus pushed her away furiously.
“What are you thinking?”
Regulus snapped before noticing Evan’s silent giggling.
“Turn around, mate.”
Evan said with a smile. He was enjoying the devastated expression on your face. He didn’t want you with Regulus to begin with. Evan hated the fact that his best friend was dating some filthy half-blood from Gryffindor.
Regulus immediately spun around and felt immediately guilty when he saw your face. There was nothing but hurt and sadness written all over you.
“Y/n…”
You shook your head and left the room without another word.
As you ran down the hall, you ran into something hard and fell backward. After smacking your head on the stone floor, you looked up as James popped out from underneath his invisibility cloak.
“Y/n, precious!”
He squealed delighted to see you but stopped the moment he realized that you were crying.
“Hurry, jump in here.”
The moment that you were under the cloak, you were squished between James and Sirius. Sniffing back some more tears, you took in your current situation.
“What are you two doing?”
Sirius grinned.
“Playing a prank on Snivelly. Hey, are you crying?”
“Forget it.
You said, softly. About that time Regulus came running around the corner. He looked as devastated as you felt.
“Y/n? Darling, where are you?”
Regulus looked around pathetically. He didn’t realize that you were standing just a bit from him.
“Reg, can you slow down?”
Evan and Barty rounded the corner breathing heavily. Barty almost looked like he could pass out.
“Did you find her?”
Regulus shook his head.
“It's like she disappeared. I have to find her.”
Evan shook his head.
“She’ll turn up when she wants to chat. Come on, let's go back to the common room. I have some things to go talk to you about our plans for the holiday.”
Regulus waited a moment before turning and following his friends back down the corridor and out of sight.
James and Sirius waited until the coast was clear before pulling the cloak off. Right as they did, Remus turned the corner and stopped at the sight of you pressed against Sirius and James behind you. Remus mentally compared the three of you looking like three gummy bears stuck together on a summer day.
“I normally don’t ask questions but what the hell is going on? Is Regulus and Lily okay with this? I’m not sure that I am…”
James, Sirius, and yourself immediately pulled apart. Sirius and yourself were scowling at Remus while James howled with laughter. This was the funniest damn thing that had happened to him all day.
“Hush, you. It wasn’t what it looked like.”
Sirius snapped as James got a grip on himself.
“Sirius and I were under the cloak about to pull a grand prank when Y/n came running around the corner and into us. She was….”
“Wait, why were you crying?”
“I don’t want to talk about it.”
You replied. Sirius rolled his eyes as things were starting to click.
“Well, I do. What did my brother do?”
You resisted the urge to return the awkward hug that Sirius was giving you.
“I’m not telling you because I don’t want you to do anything stupid about it!”
You quickly turned and left your two confused best friends and older brother scratching their heads. It wasn’t until Lily walked up did they turn away.
“I can tell you what happened.”
Pairing: Sirius x reader
Request: Hiiiiiii babe I really have a strange idea in my mind But something (SiriusxReader) where Reader it’s in chorus of the Hogwarts and every personare spellbound Whit her voice bc she is descendant of mermaids She is best friends with the Marauders although she is a bit more with Sirius who always wonders if he is in love with her or if it's just the spell (she loves him too) End happy and fluff please 🥺
A/N: I’m so sorry I feel like I deviated from the request so much, I just let my mind run.  I hope you like it anyway!!
Wordcount: 1.7k
She sat in an armchair, comfy in the Gryffindor common room, feet resting upon a coffee table as the parchment rested on her knees and she wrote the essay she had been assigned earlier that day. As she worked she idly sang a tune to herself under her breath, barely audible.
She didn’t notice she was doing it until she glanced up from the parchment and noticed that a crowd had gathered around her, in a trance as they hung on her every word. She sighed, frustratedly, putting her quill down and looking at the four boys sat on the sofa adjacent to her. “I did it again, didn’t I?” They all nodded, sympathetic looks on their faces as she mentally chastised herself. It was an unfortunate coincidence that singing was one of her favourite things to do, and that having mermaid ancestors seemed to put a spell over anyone who listened to her voice.
Most people didn’t see her as anything more than that – a descendant of a mermaid, and therefore someone to be wary around, the same as they treated the beautiful descendants of Veelas – but she was lucky enough to find a group of friends who wanted to stick around when she wasn’t singing. It had started in their second year, when they had pulled a particularly offensive prank, and just as they were about to be caught, y/n had happened to walk past, singing to herself and distracting everyone around her from what had happened. Intrigued, the boys had approached her for her help in their future endeavours, and they had all been glad to discover how well they got on outside of the pranking business. Since then, the only thing which had separated the group were their separate dorms, other than that they were always together, visiting each other in the holidays.
She loved them all, almost equally, but a certain incessant flirt had captured her heart from the moment he had approached her, thirteen years old, an incredibly cheesy pick up line and his gleaming grey eyes. As they’d grown older, her affection for him had only grown stronger, but she pushed it down, tried to ignore it, seeing him turn his attention to almost every other girl in the year, seeing that the way he treated her wasn’t special, that their flirting was just a friendly joke. So she saw him every day, pretended she wasn’t hurt when he would use those same cheesy pick up lines on other people, or ask her for advice about a date he had coming up. She flirted with her own broken heart, but she couldn’t help it when she saw the way his face lit up when she would quip back with her little remarks.
Fed up of these thoughts swimming around her head, clouding her clarity and aware of the large crowd still surrounding her in the common room because of her accidental tune, she collected her things in her arms, bidding the boys goodnight before making her way to the dorm.
Sirius watched her go, his heart feeling torn in two, unable to deny how he felt but trying his hardest all the same. He remembered the first time he had seen her, eleven years old, stood in the great hall, waiting eagerly to be sorted, her y/h/c plait bouncing as she ran to the Gryffindor table, and the rush of happiness when he realised that, at least one good thing of his own sorting was that he could get to know her better. He’d spotted her in his classes, quickly picking up on her intelligence and her friendly nature, always chatting away with Lily at their desks. It wasn’t until second year, when she had saved him and his friends from certain detention, that he heard her sing for the first time, and just like everyone else, he was entranced.
He had pushed for the boys to bring her into the friendship group, hiding behind the excuse of a great way out of trouble, but desperately wanting the chance to get to know her better. His suspicions were confirmed when they got on better than a house on fire, instantly becoming as close as any of the other boys, if not more. He had watched her grow into herself, flourish as she grew stronger. He watched how she grew from the girl who would blush at every line he gave her, every hand hold and every kiss on the cheek, into the feisty young woman who would unabashedly flirt back, eyes strong and determined, barely bothered by his comments anymore.
He asked himself every night what he was feeling, whether his entrancement by her was just an extension of her ancestors or whether it was his own, real feelings. He daren’t ask the boys outright, he knew he would never live it down if the boys all felt the same and he had kidded himself that these were real feelings, but he had subtly extricated some clues from them that they only fell into that trance when she was singing. And sure, he loved to hear her sing, it was gorgeous, her voice was as smooth as pearls, but he would much rather hear her laughing at one of his jokes, or the way that she so compassionately spoke to Remus after every full moon, or how her voice when she was half-asleep just made him melt inside. No, her charm must just have an extra hold on him, that was what he had convinced himself, that was why he had distracted himself with every other girl he could, but each time he seemed to bounce back with an even stronger desire for her.
Two people who had the whole school pining after them. But who only wanted each other, the one who they could never have, the unattainable. At least, until the Marauders finally had the payback worth seven years of pranks.
The six of them were sat at breakfast, an ordinary morning, nothing out of the ordinary, even completed with Lucius Malfoy knocking y/n as he walked past, never failing to take her by surprise. Nothing was out of the ordinary, until she started to speak.
“I’m so fed up of my voice.” She confessed, looking surprised at her own words as everyone’s attention snapped to her. “Sometimes I wish I could just rip out my own tongue and never talk again, rather than have people admire me for something I can’t control.”
“We would be sad if you lost your voice, y/n/n.” Lily spoke up with a reassuring smile, which y/n only returned with words even more shocking.
“Lily, it’s time you admit your feelings for James. It’s just cruel to keep him in the dark now.” Lily’s cheeks flushed to the same colour of her hair as James snapped his head to her.
“You-what? Y/n, what has gotten into you?” James spluttered, and it was then that everyone turned their attention to the drink in her hand, fuller than it had been when she had first poured it. Remus took it from her, sniffing it cautiously, before confirming his suspicions.
“Veritaserum.” He frowned. “She’ll be spouting the truth for the next few hours.” He took her arm, trying to urge her up from the table as the rest of the group followed, immediately on damage control to prevent her saying something to someone unknowingly, catching Snape laughing at the Slytherin table with his friends.
They rushed her up to the common room and into the boys dorm, while she continued to spout harmless truths, how she had stolen some of Remus’ chocolate, how she had borrowed some of Lily’s clothes without her knowing. These innocent confessions continued for the next few hours, all of them deciding it was best to skip classes for the day, causing much laughter between the group of friends.
“Oh,” she laughed, being set onto James’ bed. “and it was me that jinxed the last girl you went out with Siri. Everyone thought it was one of the Slytherins but it was me!” They all stared at her, astounded at this revelation. It was Sirius who was the first to break it.
“Why would you jinx her?”
“Because I love you, silly. I didn’t want to, but I saw her flirting with someone else, so soon after she was with you, and I thought it wasn’t fair, how she could just treat you as if you were a nobody, because if it was me I would cherish every moment with you, but it isn’t me, it’s never me, and I lost it.” The room was silent as she stopped speaking, and her eyes widened, mouth forming an ‘o’ as she realised what she had said, the truth serum having finally worn off, although not going without a bang. “Haha, fooled you!” she forced a laugh, trying not to let her voice sound as weak as she felt, crossing her legs underneath. “A total lie, so at least we know I’m not poisoned anymore.” Her attempt at smoothing over what she had said had obviously not worked, Sirius stared at her in total shock, and everyone else began to file out of the room to leave them alone.
“You love me?” He finally asked, breaking the silence that had been suffocating her. She couldn’t help the tears that were pooling in her eyes, knowing this was the moment she had been dreading all along, the rejection which she knew would break her.
“Well, maybe I do. I just don’t want this to ruin our friendship, please I can forget it, I can try harder to move on.” She begged.
“Don’t.” She looked at him in confusion as he interrupted her. “Don’t move on. I don’t want you to love someone else. I-I love you too.”
For a few heartbeats, neither of them moved, neither of them spoke, staring at each other as if daring each other to make the next move. And then, in a flash, she had flown over to him and pressed her lips to his in a bruising kiss, marvelling in the feel of how soft his lips were, how expertly he moved them against hers, pulling her soul from her with their magic.
“I don’t want to thank Snivellus, but it feels like we owe him.” Sirius smirked down at her as she giggled, grabbing his t-shirt in her fists and pulling him back down.
How it may have gone - Humble Beginnings
A fic taking place in the marauders era. While the political climate seems to head to a conflict, James, Sirius, Remus and Peter are still just teenagers. Dealing with typical teenage problems.
But this year their little group grows. Who would have known that more prefects would be a good thing?
Masterlist
Ten: Detention III
When I came back to Greenhouse 4 the next day around the same time a new list lay on the first workstation. Next to it I found the lower section of the one I had worked off of yesterday. The little facts about the plants and creatures were apparently mine to keep. I folded that piece of parchment and put it in my bag.
Then I unfolded the new list.
To Do – Day 2
Behind the bumblebush by the desks you’ll find a door. I houses the supplies and tools. It’s not locked, grab whatever you need.
One table over is a stack of books that tells you what you need to know about the various plants and animals.
Feed the Abtu in the river
Check elderly mandrakes for signs of life (or death)
Water nettles, beets and tea (green, white and black)
Cut eight branches of Dittany
Wear gloves !!! and collect Streeler slime.
The Chameleon Potion is a very advanced one but it is one of the most powerful ways of disguise. In contrast to polyjuice potion which lets the drinker only turn into one person, of whom a ‘piece’ is required as an ingredient, which poses its own risks and obstacles, the Chameleon potion enables the drinker to practically become a metamorphmagi for at least two hours after consumption.
Nettles, beets and tealeaves (fresh or dried) are basic ingredients in a lot of potions. Nettles are mostly used in healing potions to provide the best starting points for the more magical ingredients. Not a single common healing potion is brewed without nettles! Beets are mostly used for colour in cosmetic applications. White, Green and Black Tea all have different properties that are released when put in hot water. Those properties often react with more magical plants like devil’s snare or moon dew to bring the potion to full potential.
When dittany is boiled and reduced, then combined with liquid silver it becomes a paste that is a very powerful cure against werewolves bites, called Lykoiaomai. This is the full recipe: Boil and reduce dittany leaves, strain the liquid to rid it of all solids and stir it into a liquid but slightly cooled silver. The ratio is one tablespoon of liquid silver to five tablespoons of dittany reduction.
When dried over a moderate flame Streeler slime turns into thin transparent gelatinous sheets, that can be dissolved in hot water. Dissolve the sheets in white tea as a cure for sleep deprivation.
Again, with the factoids… While the last ones seemed random these appeared to be a little more tailored to my situation. Mainly because of the werewolf and sleep deprivation. Full moon would be tomorrow. All of the Gryffindor boys would be completely destroyed on Thursday, if I could find dried sheets of Streeler Slime in Slughorn’s shelves, I might just take them to see whether they worked as well as pepper up potion.
While Sirius was right and there were no side-effects to using the potion it was pretty hard to get a hold of and expensive to buy. If the giant slugs provided an alternative I could see myself nicking  some jars of their slime before detention was over. It would be helpful to the boys and to Crick and me. Just yesterday the next month of nightshifts had been figured out and I was serving at least one a week, not one on the weekends. Crick had had a similar fate while Jonas got way too many Saturdays to his name. Anything that would get me through a day of classes after a nightshift was absolutely worth breaking the rules for.
On the other hand, Sprout had never once said that I wasn’t allowed to take anything from the greenhouse. Obviously I could assume that nothing was to leave the treehouse but nobody had officially forbidden it.
I got to work and finished a bit quicker than the day before. One of the mandrakes didn’t react to anything I did to it, so I assumed it to be dead and put it on the table with a note. I thought it smart to let everybody know that I wasn’t sure what a dead mandrake looked like. Just in case this one was just really old and moved so slowly I didn’t realise it. The last thing I needed was to get in trouble while serving detention.
After I placed the dittany branches on top of the books I walked back into the shed and looked through the Potions section. I found two interesting things: There were a lot of sheets of Streeler slime and there were about 12 glasses of Dittany-Silver-Paste. They were labelled with dates. All of which lay in the future. One of which was tomorrow.
I had thrown myself in a homework marathon yesterday night and written my essay on the significance of Venus in relation to death for the Thursday class. Normally I couldn’t be bribed to research astronomical deteails outside of class or homework. It was one of those subjects whose importance to general magical education I understood – unlike divination – but I really wasn’t all that interested in it. Yesterday however, I had broken out my moon chart for the decade and checked the dates of full moons. I had made a list and pinned it into my wardrobe, just so I was prepared for a weak and sickly looking Remus and a grumpy Potter-posse. Aside from that, I had a feeling that the other boys were stupid enough to hang out with Remus after he had transformed and I wanted to be able to run to their rescue when something happened.
The dates on the glasses of anti-werewolf-bite-cream were all full moon dates. Seeing how Remus didn’t need a specific potion to be healed, even if he bit himself, because he already was a werewolf and didn’t get affected by the poison in his own fangs, the existence of all of these jars seemed to proof my theory that my stupid, stupid friends did regularly lounge with a transformed werewolf. And that the school knew.
While making these observations I found one glass with a December date. The 26th, to be exact. Remus would have been with his parents during the holidays, so this one went unused. Then, again, I doubted that every other jar of this stuff had been used. Did it maybe spoil quickly? Maybe, but not very likely. There were jars labelled for next November. I went back out into the bright garden and checked the special edition book on uncommon healing potions. I had a section Dittany, the recipe for the cream and stated that it was good for roughly ten years.
So, maybe the teachers relabelled the jars after every full moon that went well. I could safely assume that every single one of these jars was good to go in case of an emergency. And that it would be for couple of years. After all Remus had only started school five and a half years ago. And I doubted, that we had more than one werewolf on campus.
I struggled with my conscience and I didn’t feel good about it. But I went back into the shed, ripped the label off the December jar and put it into my bag. Just in case I really needed to run to anybody’s rescue. When I left I felt really guilty but I also reckoned I could talk myself out of the situation if it ever came to light.
We were all pretty nervous on Wednesday. It was our first full moon. And even though we weren’t going to actually be around Remus during the night, all of us girls were hyper aware of Remus’ bad shape and what would happen at night. I was glad that we went on revising spells in Charms class that morning. That way nobody noticed how little I could concentrate. Transfiguration went fairly well, too, as it was a theoretical class and I only needed to write down notes. I did, however, pull myself together to write them completely, detailed and legible because Milla was an absolute wreck at this point. Yes, her feelings for Remus weren’t influenced by the fact that he was a werewolf but the thought of every bone in his body breaking horrified her for him. Her voice was shaky all day and it sounded like she could start crying any second. Needless to say that she didn’t take any notes at all during McGonnagal’s monologue.
“Please, keep me away from Remus!”, she begged when we crossed the foyer for lunch. “Or at least don’t let me talk to him. He already looks like death and I don’t think my state would help that at all.”
“Sure thing. We’ll distract him.”
We did. Quite successfully. By now the others knew what my detention consisted of exactly and I decided to tell the entire group about my recent venture into thieving.
“Point is, that I have that stuff. I don’t hope you’ll ever need it but in all honesty if you should ever need it, it’s probably better if you have it with you rather than it sitting in my night stand”, I whispered while smoking.
“You stole Slughorn’s supply from a restricted area of the school? You sure you’re still you, Goods?”
“Fairly certain, yeah. Honestly, I’d rather lose my badge and serve detention for the next two years, than live through the nightmare of something happening to any of you.”
“I’m with Jette”, Remus agreed strongly. Well, as strongly as he possibly could. Milla was right, saying he looked like death. His skin was basically see-through and the dark circles under his eyes nearly reached his upper lip.
“I’m not myself. What if I do bite one of you?”, his voice got a little shaky and I had the distinct impression that that had nothing to do with his physical condition.
“You haven’t yet, Remus”, James tried to calm him down, with a pad on the shoulder.
“First time for everything”, Remus half-smiled in response.
“Just take it!”, I shoved the jar in Peter’s hands. “If you never need it, I’ll be heavenly happy, but if you do need it and don’t have access to it I’ll kill myself over it. And so will Remus. So, don’t argue!”
We sent them off to their classes and descended to the dungeons to learn something or other about fever-reducing-potions. Blair took care of her cauldron that she shared with Millla and the one that Chloe and Nica were supposed to brew in, while Joe was absolutely on his own with ours. I’d told him that I wasn’t on my A-game and could barely concentrate and being the wonderful person he was, he took it upon himself to just do the potion on his own, allowing me to lift. I had to promise that I’d help him out in Defence, though. And I was more than willing to pay that price.
When I got to the treehouse that afternoon I was met by Professor Slughorn. Oh. Not good.
“Miss de Witt. How nice. I thought it useful to talk you through some of the ingredients we have you collect and store. While I’m aware that Professor Sprout provided you with the books and some additional information, I’d like for you to know a little more. You up for it?”
“Certainly, Professor.” Maybe he hadn’t noticed that I nicked his December jar.
“Very well. We will get to the Dittany you collected yesterday. First, you should feed the animals. I’ll set up over there.” He pointed at the tables and pulled out a collapsible cauldron. I scanned my list for the day that just told me to feed the fish and lay out some hay for whatever other creature. I did both those things, visited the mandrakes, who were all still alive and returned to the table.
The Dittany branches were already in the cauldron and a shimmery, shiny substance sat atop a different fire. Shimmery, shiny and silver. Maybe he had noticed that I nicked the jar.
“Now, I’m sure you can guess what we’re doing today.”
“The potion – paste – that Professor Sprout wrote about. The one that heals werewolf bites?”
“Excellent. Five points to Hufflepuff.”
“Oh, thank you, Sir.”
“Now, I’m aware you don’t like potionmaking all that much. Contrasting your brother, who is still doing brilliantly.”
“Happy to hear that, Sir.”
“But with your strong suit being Defence against the Dark Arts, I don’t think that it would be crazy to assume you at least think about working in theat field. I would favour you for an auror but obviously you might end up a curse breaker, a member of the department for magical law or a dejinxer at St. Mungo’s. Every single one of these professions is connected to potions and potionmaking in one way or another. And if you’d ever want to apply to the auror training programme you need to have achieved an A at least in your NEWTs. So, I thought we’d try to install some interest in you by meeting here every now and again during your detention to work on interesting and practical potions. Would you be okay with that?”
“Of couse, Sir. Thank you. This is probably the best opportunity anybody has ever gotten by getting detention.”
“Well, I personally don’t agree with your actions, Miss de Witt. But I also don’t agree with those of my own students.” I had fully forgotten that Slughorn was Slytherin Head of House.
“What Messrs Black and Mulciber said and did does not represent my house. I trust you know that. And I don’t want you to miss opportunities over a throw-away nasty comment.”
“Thank you, Professor. I appreciate that. A lot. A whole lot.”
“Let’s get to work then.”
He went through the recipe and one or two tricks that could help me when brewing the thing myself. At the end we had produced four more of the jars. Three of them Slughorn put on his shelves, one he gave to me.
“I’d guess you won’t need it anytime soon. But it keeps nearly forever, so it won’t hurt to keep it for emergencies in whatever field you chose to work. And now that you know how to brew it and should wish to practice again, you can always ask me for the ingredients or supplies. I would have to supervise your use of them. You’ll understand that I don’t want you to take the silver for making jewellery. “
“Completely.” Frankly, I didn’t understand anything that was going on but I ran with it. By this point I was one hundred percent certain that Slughorn had noticed the theft. Otherwise he’d not have said that I could ask him for more of the potion. I thought he’d be mad at me but since he wasn’t I had to conclude that he knew about Remus’ condition and my friendship to him.
When Slughorn dismissed me it was pitchblack outside. I quickly looked up. The moon hadn’t fully risen yet, but it was definitely visible. According to our DADA material the transformation didn’t happen until the moon had done exactly that. Full rise and full moon. I imagined that the boys had already eaten and were on their way to wherever they hid during these nights. They’d gone so far as to tell us that there was a hideout but not where it was.
My steps quickened as I crossed the lawn. Suddenly, the lights from the castle’s windows seemed very far away. How fast did the moon rise? How far away from the castle was the hideout? Did the boys get there in time for the transformation? I quickened my steps. I started jogging. I did not want to run into Remus tonight. Absolutely not. Nope.
“Goods!” I stopped. Turned around.
“Sirius?”
“What are you still doing out here? Moon’s nearly risen.”
“Why d’you think I’m running?” I couldn’t spot any of the other boys.
“Oh… are you scared of the big bad wolf?” Sirius smug smirk appeared on his lips.
“I thought I already told you that I’d rather not run into a transformed werewolf. So, yeah. I love Remus, I do, but …”
“You don’t want to share his fate.”
“Well, no I don’t. And I’d rather not die, either.”
“Fair enough. No need to be scared, he’s already where he’s supposed to be.”
“Why aren’t you?”
“Forgot you wonder potion in the dorm… We have a fairly established routine for nights like these. And your stupid jar, is not yet part of it. But Remus insisted I get it.” I swung my backpack from my back to my chest and opened it.
“What are you doing?” I handed him the new jar of dittany and silver.
“Slughorn was at detention. He must have noticed that I stole one of the jars and taught me how to brew it. I got to keep one. Fully legal this time.”
“What kind of detention is that? I only ever get to clean things or write the same sentence over and over again.”
“Haven’t quite worked that out yet. But it seems to have some kind of deeper meaning. Slughorn said that he’d stop by more often during detention to teach me potions. The useful kind that I might enjoy brewing. He said it’s to help me get into the auror programme but I don’t know whether I should believe that.”
“Curious” Sirius looked up at the dark sky. “I gotta run.”
“Right… Hug Remus for me, yeah?” Sirius tilted his head. He didn’t look impressed with that suggestion.
“Or tell him I’m hugging him mentally.”
“Will do.” He was ready to head back to where he had come from.
“And be careful, you hear?”
“You worried about me?”, again he smirked at me.
“Yes, Sirius, I am. About all of you. Including Remus.  So, be careful and not arrogant or heroic or Merlin knows what. Okay?”
Sirius came a little closer and studied my face.
“Nothing will happen, Goods. We’ve done this for a while now. We know what we’re doing.”
“Yeah, right because it’s such a common practice to ru…”
“Nothing”, Sirius interrupted me “will happen to any of us. I promise.” He gave me that look that made one feel like he uncovered the deepest and darkest secrets of one’s soul.
“Fine. Fine, fine. Run off, then.” I pushed him against his shoulders to give him some momentum.
“Get something to eat you worried Goodie-two-shoes”, Sirius grinned as he ran back into the blackness of the grounds.
I continued on my way to dinner, slower than before, but distinctly more concerned. He could promise me that they’d be fine a million times, I would never fully believe that none of them took unnecessary risks. That was in their blood. They were inherently adventurous. To the point of stupidity. This was going to be a long night. I doubted I’d get any sleep at all.
Entering the Great Hall and spotting Milla, Blair, Chloe and Nica I realised that none of us would sleep. We’d all be awake all night assuring one another that the boys would be fine. Although none of us were sure about that.
The life of Anastasia Black
Hey Hey my readers. This is a chapter about the life story of Anastasia Black, a character I created myself. I have a plan in mind for the next few chapters. They will be part of a multi chapter fic. It will be about Fred and George Weasley and I hope you will all like it. I'm working on that and I would like some request that I can do in the meantime. I will make a chapter in which I will put some stuff for request and if you want to request a story, either leave a comment with the info or message me privately. I promise I will do them as fast as I can.
Master list
Anyway here is the life story of Anastasia Black.
Anastasia was born on 20 October 1977. She came earlier than expected as she should be born on 20 November 1977. Anastasia's mother died during child birth, her mother was barely a year out of Hogwarts. Having gone to Hogwarts from 1 Sept 1970 till 30th June 1977. Her father had attended Hogwarts from 1 Sept 1971 till 30th June1978. The hospital searched for relatives of the baby girl. They found out that her father was still in Hogwarts and couldn't take care of her. Her mother's parents were already dead. They contacted Hogwarts to ask for relatives of her father Sirius Black. Professor McGonagall send an owl to Fleamont and Euphemia Potter informing them of the situation.
Fleamont  and Euphemia went to the hospital to pick the little girl up. The  doctor unformed them of the name the mother had given her child and how  she had said that her father should chose her middle name. Euphemia decided to not tell Sirius about his daughter till he came back home for the Christmas holidays, so that it wouldn't disturb his 'studies'. They loved the little girl and took good care of her and when James and Sirius came back for the holidays to see their mother holding a little baby, they were more than shocked. Euphemia informed Sirius that this was his child and that the mother had died during childbirth. Sirius didn't know what to do with this information. Euphemia taught him and James how to take care of her and at the end of the holidays Sirius couldn't wait to see her again.
He decided to give Anastasia the middle name of his mother. The mother who had been a mother to him. And she was now Anastasia Euphemia Black. Sirius had his own apartment and decided that he would babyproof it, so he and his daughter could live together. All  the marauders loved the little girl and took turns taking care of her  when they had to go on missions for the Orde of the Phoenix.  Sirius had made both James and Remus her godfather's as he wanted to be  sure that his little girl would be in good hands if anything were to  happen to him during the war.
When Euphemia and Fleamont died of dragon pox in July 1979, both James and Sirius were devastated. Sirius tried to pull true for his daughter and  James was cheered up by his wife. Shortly after the passing of Fleamont  and Euphemia, Lily found out she was pregnant. The soon to be parents  were both worried and happy with the news. And James and Sirius started planning play dates for both their children. When harry was born on 30 July 1980, Anastasia was only 2 years old, but she liked the baby a lot. James and Lily died on the 31 of October 1981 and Sirius was arrested shortly after. While Anastasia was only 4 years old. Anastasia was forged to life with her grandmother Walburga against the protests of her only godfather left, Remus Lupin.
Her grandmother Walburga was hospitalized shortly after she took Anastasia in. But  she refused to put her granddaughter up for adoption, saying that she  was a Black and should grow up being taught as one. Walburga died in  1985, when Anastasia was 7.   Remus  Lupin wasn't allowed to take her in, and they were looking for  relatives that could take care of her. In the end it was decided that  either Narcissa or Andromeda would have to take her in. As there were no  other relatives left. The  two sisters argued who would take care of her, in the end, it was  decided that both Narcissa and Andromeda would take turns in looking  after her.  Remus objected saying that his young goddaughter shouldn't have to switch houses every day. And when Anastasia was old enough, they decided that she  would live in the mansion that belonged to the House of Black, the childhood home of both Narcissa and Andromeda. Both women would visit   her often. The  house elves would look after her in between, she would be taught the  ways of the ancient and noble house of Black. And Remus would visit her  whenever he could.
Anastasia  is a tall, well-built, gorgeous woman with fair skin, long wavy,  lustrous black hair, which sometimes appeared light in the sun, striking  grey eyes and an air of ''casual elegance''. All of which are  attributes passed down in the family. She is a true-hearted and brave  girl, she is witty and talented but also a bit arrogant and quite a  mischievous troublemaker. She has a great sense of humour and she is  loyal to her friends and family. She can be reckless and immature, but  when it comes to it, she takes responsibility. She can have an explosive  temper when she is angered, a trait she shares with Walburga, Bellatrix  and her father
The mansion was near Ottery St Catchpole. And Anastasia met the Weasley family when she went out on her own when she was 10 years old in 1988. She made quick friends with George and Fred. Fred and George nicknamed her Asta as Anastasia had started to hate the nickname Ana that her grandmother, Walburga had used for her. Anastasia (20 Oct 1977) turned 11 in 1988. And she started to attend Hogwarts in 1989 with Fred and George. They found the Marauders map in that same year. They nicked it from Filch his office after he had called them there because they had put off dungbombs in the corridors. He left them alone for five minutes but that was more than enough time for the three of them to look through his drawer with real dangerous stuff. They found an old folded piece of parkement and wondered what it was when they heard Filch come. They quickly closed the drawer and hid the parkement and sat down on their chairs acting like nothing had happened.
When they started their 3rd year at Hogwarts in 1991, Ron, Hermione and Harry start their first year at Hogwarts. Asta remembered Harry but headmaster Dumbledore forbade her from telling him anything, about her father and his parents. And she had to pretend they were just friends and that she didn't felt like they were family. At the end of their third year, Asta and George started dating.
Sirius escaped Azkaban in 1993. And Asta starts her 5th year at Hogwarts on 1 September 1993.   And she is made a prefect making her godfather proud, Remus saying that he was glad she wasn't following in her father's footsteps. Asta and Remus bonded at lot at the beginning of the school year. When Harry found out what Sirius had supposedly done, he got mad at Asta.  He knew that her last name was Black and when he asked her about it,  she admitted that she and Sirius were indeed family. And that he was her   father. At the end of Asta's fifth year and Harry's third, Asta told Harry the truth.
Asta  got a letter from Sirius, in which he said how much he missed his  little girl and how proud he was. He said that they would be together  after this was all over. Asta looked forward to when she would she her father again. Asta visited the quidditch world cup with the Weasley's.  As Asta was one of the Gryffindor chasers, she loved quidditch, so George invited her over. They started their sixed year at Hogwarts and the three-wizard tournament was announced, she and the twins became excited about entering until Headmaster Dumbledore Stated that you had to be of  age to enter. He said that you could enter yourself in the tournament   around Halloween which caused Asta to smirk as she would become of age   on the 20th of October and Halloween was on the 31st of October. The twins started begging her to put their names in as well, but Dumbledore warned them not to do it. When the champions were announced, Asta was slightly disappointed that she wasn't chosen but was excited to see what would happen.
Asta  was now that she was of age allowed to take the position of the house  of Black in the Wizengamot. This gave her new power and responsibility,  but she could handle it. She was informed of the tasks but wasn't  allowed to tell anyone what they were.
When  Professor McGonagall announced that there would be a ball all the girls  got excited and started talking about dates and dresses. Anastasia had   grown up with her grandmother Walburga and aunt Narcissa teaching her   how to dance and to wear proper dresses, so she wasn't excited to go   shopping or to have to practice dancing. But she was excited that the   ball was with a date. She was curious how George would ask her. When George asked Asta to the Yuleball as his date  he used fireworks, he and his brother had started inventing them both  they weren't perfect yet and the question was unclear. George apologized  and asked her if she would be his date. She of course answered yes. They had a great night. She sent pictures of the ball, to both Sirius and Remus.
After they finished their sixth year, they tried to join the Orde of the Phoenix, being of age. Anastasia finally saw Sirius again. They  had a sweet moment together and Asta showed him a picture book she had  kept during her Hogwarts years. Sirius felt bad about not being able to  be part of her life for so long. He promised that he would be there for the rest if her life, taking part in the important moments in her life.  She told him that she was glad to have him back and properly introduced  him to her boyfriend of 3 years. George and Sirius got along just fine.
Asta last year at Hogwarts started in 1995. Half  way through their last year Fred and George leave to open their joke  shop. Asta is proud of George, she stays behind at Hogwarts with Lee to  finish her  studies. She went with Harry to the ministry and helped them fight the  death eaters, she saw how Bellatrix fired a spell at Sirius. She saw Sirius fall through the veil to never return she was incredibly sad but managed to apparated out of the ministry.  After the ministry had made a public announcement that Voldemort was  indeed back, they apologized to Dumbledore and called together the Wizengamot. George didn't want Asta to go at all, let alone all on her own. But she went anyway. Sirius was cleared of all his crimes, but he couldn't enjoy being a free man.
Anastasia  uses some of the family fortune to open a breading habit for endangered  creatures and animals of both the muggle and the wizarding world. It  becomes a success. Some muggle asks her to breed their horses and the  dragon sanctuary in Scotland asks her to help them with breeding their   dragons.
George  and Anastasia are both very busy, but they want to live together to  spend more time together. As Asta owns the Black mansion and George and  Fred live in the apartment above their shop they hardly see each other. They discuss where to live as Anastasia has all that she needs for 'The Breeding of Black' in her mansion, and George must  be there for the shop now that it just opened. They decided that they  would put a floo-network straight from the Black mansion to the  Weasley's Wizard Wheezes. George is soon finds his place in the Black  mansion and Fred joins them to live there, since the mansion is big  enough.
George  proposes to Anastasia on valentine's day 1997. He has taken her on a  fancy date and at the end when they're standing in the garden in front  of the mansion, George gets down on one knee and tells her how she is  his everything and how nothing would make him happier than being able to   call her his wife. She said that she would love nothing more than to be his wife and for him to be her husband. Remus was overjoyed that his goddaughter  was getting married to the love of her live. Molly was worried that  George was rushing things because of the war but she knew that Anastasia  would be perfect for her son as they had been together in a  relationship for years.
They were discussing about last names. Anastasia was the last Black of the long line of Blacks. George said that Asta should keep her last name. And Asta said that George should keep his.   Anastasia did have some pride in her last name and knew she would miss  it, but she didn't want George to give up his family name as she knew  how much he loved his family. In the end they decided to both have both names. Then  they had to decided which name first. They let someone else decided.  Fred said that Black-Weasley sounded much better than Weasley-Black. So, they decided to become Anastasia and George Black-Weasley when they were married.
They  wanted to have a small wedding, but Molly was having none of it. Asta  put in the argument that Bill and Fleur would get married at the burrow  on the 1st  of August and that she and George could have a small wedding before   that in the Black mansion so that Bill and Fleur could have their   special day in the Burrow. But Molly refused saying that they would have  to wait till Ron, Hermione, Harry and Ginny were out of school so that  they could attend the wedding. In the end Molly got her way after Fleur  said that she wouldn't mind sharing her wedding day with George and  Anastasia and that they could simply marry on the same day to spare  trouble.
They had to evacuate Harry from his relative's home on 27th  of July. Asta wanted to help but George told her to stay home. He  didn't want her anywhere near possible death eaters or worse her aunt  Bellatrix. So Asta stayed at the burrow with Molly and Ginny preparing  for when the others would arrive. When they got back George was injured.  A death eater had blast his left  ear off. Asta had tried to heal up his wound as best as she could but  he would now forever have a hole were his ear was supposed to be. George was worried hat she would think of him, but she reassured him that she still loved him the same maybe even more.
They marry on the 1st of August 1997 and they become Anastasia and George Black-Weasley. Remus walks Anastasia down the aisle and he has never been so happy in a long time. Remus marries Tonks in 1997.  Asta is incredibly happy for her godfather and says he deserves to live  happy life. Remus and Tonks have a son, who was born in April 1998.  They made both Harry and Anastasia the godparents. Asta loves Teddy.
Asta finds out she is pregnant on the first of April 1998.  George thinks it's a joke at first but later comes around and is  incredibly happy to start a family with her and says that this is the  best birthday gift he ever got. Fred agrees with him and thinks it's  amazing that he will become an uncle and tells Anastasia that she would  be the most awesome person ever if she named her first son after him.   When Remus hears that she is pregnant, he is so happy for his  goddaughter.
The Battle of Hogwarts takes place 2 May 1998. Asta  joins George and Fred against their protest that she should stay home  in the save mansion to protect the precious cargo. She refuses saying  that she is barely a month along and that she won't wait at home  worrying about whether her husband and favourite brother in law survive  or not. Saying that stress is bad for the cargo too. The battle  progresses, Fred and Anastasia had lost George and Bill and were now  fighting alongside Percy. When the wall exploded,  Asta was pushed out of the way by Fred. Both Percy and Asta were  frantically looking for Fred's body hoping that he was still alive, but  he wasn't. Asta feels bad and Percy comforts her saying that it isn't her fault. They go to what is left of the great hall and are immediately  surrounded by the Weasley family. George doesn't take Fred's dead very  well but does manage to say that he could never blame Anastasia and that  it wasn't her fault. Anastasia starts walking around and sees her  godfather and his wife dead as well. She is incredibly said as she had lost a lot of important people in her life now.
Fred got what he wanted as Anastasia and George's first-born son was named after him and Asta's father. Frederic Sirius Black-Weasley is born in December 1998. He  has fair skin, medium, lustrous black hair and has the striking grey  eyes form his mother. He has a great sense of humor and is loyal to his   friends and family. He has an air of ''casual elegance'' surrounding   him. He is brave and reckless and a little bit arrogant. He has pride in  the fact that he has Black Blood. (Being part of the noble and most ancient house  of Black). He is confident in his looks and is quite a flirt. He loves  to pull jokes but becomes the first prefect in the family. He just like  his mother can have a temper when it comes to it. He joins the quidditch  team and becomes a beater, his father is incredibly proud of that. He  later becomes quidditch captain of the Gryffindor team
In August 2001 Asta gave birth to a pair of girls, Alexia Molly Black-Weasley and Syria Minerva Black-Weasley are the now famous Black-Weasley twins. They both looked like their mother with fair skin but with long wavy, lustrous ginger hair and brown eyes. Both having freckles form their father and they both like to play pranks with him.  Neither of them became prefect. They did join the Quidditch team as  chaser but stopped after a few years. They just like their older brother  have a great sense of humor, a loyalty towards their friends and  family and have the air of ''casual elegance'' surrounding them. The  twins are the most like their father, pulling a lot of pranks and always  getting into trouble. They are reckless and immature. They too have a  temper, that seems to run in the family. The sorting hat had considered  putting them in Slytherin but decided that they lacked a certain  ambition to do so. They were put into Gryffindor.  Their father had told them to formally introduce themselves to the  headmistress. They did as told and the following morning, Anastasia and  George had gotten an owl form the headmistress.
And  in April 2003 the last addition to the Black-Weasley family is born.  Remus Hagrid Black-Weasley has black hair, much to his mother's pleasure  and he has brown eyes like his father. Remus  is out the four of them the most responsible one, he is witty and very  talented. He becomes a prefect and a headboy. Remus also joins the  Gryffindor quidditch team as a chaser, just like his mother and his twin  sister but he stays on the team during all his Hogwarts years. He just  like his brother can have an explosive temper when he is angered. But  you can only anger him when you insult his family or bully his friends.  The sorting hat had considered putting him in Ravenclaw but decided that  Gryffindor suited him better. Remus was really happy when she  introduced her youngest son to him, feeling honored that she had named  one of her children after her. When Remus Hagrid Black-Weasley attended  Hogwarts, his mother told him to visit the care for magical creature  teacher and introduce himself formally to him. She told his older  brother to catch Hagrid's reaction on camera. Both boys didn't question  it and went along with it. Hagrid cried when Remus formally introduced  himself. Saying how glad and honoured he was that his mother had named  him after him. Saying that his mother was one of his few exam students  and that she was the best student he had ever had.
And they lived happily ever after.
PART 8
part 7     6      5      4      3      2      1
Sorry I vanished for a bit. There was an incident that distracted me for a while. I am glad to finally say that this story is complete. To be honest, I’ve had a few wobbles with this, but I guess I’m kinda happy with it now. Enjoy it.
Ten letters arrived for Elise in the post the next day; each one was more degrading than the next. There was one that stood out in particular. The calligraphic green ink of Dumbledore’s writing was on the envelope. After reading it, she raced up to his office, where he greeted her kindly, despite both knowing there was nothing good coming from their meeting. She listened to his words echoing around the dream, only this time she desperately wanted it to be a dream, she couldn’t face the reality. When they finished, she returned to the letter. She read it again and again, crying a little more every single time.
She screamed, ripping up everything into tiny pieces and shoving it into her trunk. Then she kicked the trunk across the room. Her heartbeat was thudding rapidly. She waited a second for the blood to stop rushing in her ears before she climbed down to the common room.
All the marauders except for Remus were sitting in the room, laughing with each other. Elise smiled painfully and headed over to join them.
The fire was gently crackling as usual and the midwinter sun had already set, despite it having just gone 4 o’clock. The snow still fell, and had created a huge mound of white fluff on the windowsill.
Elise pulled her robes tighter around her, shivering slightly as she sat down next to Lily. She pulled out some last minute homework and began to write. She could hear the others whispering argumentatively, whilst Lily tried to get them to stop. Earlier, she’d had a quiet word with Lily, not wanting any of them to bring up the dance. The three boys started a silent rock paper scissors competition. Whatever it was for, Sirius lost. He coughed loudly, drawing Elise’s attention.
“I have a serious question” Sirius asked.
“Go on” Elise started wearily. She knew Sirius could ask some very questionable questions.
“If…and this is an extremely big and hypothetical if… If you and Remus had kids together-”
Elise choked on air. “What?”
Sirius smirked. “I’m not finished. If you were pregnant, and you transformed, would the foetus also transform? Like, what would happen if you gave birth on a full moon?”
Elise dropped her quill, staring into space. If anyone else had asked that, she probably would have hexed them until they were just a big unidentifiable blob on the floor, but for some reason she felt her anger dissipate. There was no mocking tone in his voice or disgust in his eyes. She’d never had someone be genuinely curious in her condition. If anything, she felt better than before. She was free to talk about herself for the first time ever. “I…” she pressed her fingers to her temples in deep thought. “Stop, this hurts my mind”
“If dogs have litters of puppies, would you have litters of babies?” James piped up.
Elise threw an inkpot at his head.
“You can name them Sirius 1, Sirius 2 and Sirius 3” Sirius went on, ducking as Elise charmed the pillows to chase him around the room.
Remus wandered in. He took one look around the room. Peter and Lily were doubled over laughing, Sirius was being chased by floating pillows and James was dripping in ink. Meanwhile, Elise was trying to clear up a pile of books that had been knocked to the floor.
“Come on girls, we’re leaving” Sirius shouted as he exploded the last of the pillows. He sashayed out, followed by James and Peter. Remus watched them leave, before running over to help pick up the books.
Elise grabbed his wrist, smiling sweetly. “I can do that, go to the others before Sirius does something stupid.”
Remus laughed, accidentally inhaling part of his chocolate. “When doesn’t he?” He joked softly, before walking out of the portrait hole, waving, and lightly sliding it closed.
Elise beamed at him, waving back, still staring for a good thirty seconds after he’d gone before turning to a giggling Lily.
“Shut up.” Elise snapped, hiding a smile behind her book. Her face flushed red.
“You are going to be such a cute couple.” She smiled. The smile slid off her face when she saw Elise’s face fall.
“What’s wrong?”
                                        ------------------------------
The Christmas holidays came around, and all the students were gathered on the train. Elise had spent the time leading up to Christmas with the marauders, making the most of them. She felt no joy that Christmas had finally arrived, instead she felt a sinking feeling dragging her down. After hiding in the toilets, she shut herself away inside a compartment, closing the blinds. She couldn’t take it.  All the children around her were laughing and playing. The first years were running giddily up and down the corridor. To her, their bubbly excitement sounded like forks being dragged down a plate. Elise grimaced, how could they all be so happy as her world was crashing down? She noticed how students she’d never met made sure that they stayed at least two metres away from her, as though they thought she would jump on them and try to eat their face. The kids in her compartment ran out when she entered, as though she carried a plague.
Irritation simmered in her veins. She ignored it until she felt a stabbing pain in her palm. Looking down, she saw blood trickle down where she had gripped her bag strap so tightly, the corner of the buckle had torn her skin. Hissing, she dropped her bag and started to lick the wound clean. She pretended not to hear the whispers from passers-by.
“Are you okay?” A warm voice interrupted her.
She looked up to see Remus sticking his head through the door. She nodded, not making eye contact with him.
“I’ve been looking for you for ages; do you want to join us in our compartment?”
Elise nodded. After taking her stuff, she tried to slide past him and walk off, but failed when he joined her, matching her hurried pace. Neither of them said a word, just walked in a looming silence. She could sense the questions on his mind, hoping that he’d keep them silent.
“Is-“
“Everything’s fine, Remus.” Elise snapped coldly, cutting him off from saying any more. She sensed his hurt gaze as they continued to amble up to carriage.
“Eli-“
“REMUS” She screamed. He stopped walking. Elise’s hand shot up to her mouth. She cried. Remus grabbed her and pulled her into a long, warm hug. The snow fluttered against the window and Elise cried harder, but silently. He rubbed her back gently with his hand, soothing her.
Eventually, they let go. Elise’s hands trailed in the air, unready to end the hug. Remus took her torn hand in his and kissed it softly.
“I’ve been expelled.” She told him.
Remus dropped her hand like it burnt his skin.
“What?”
“The parents don’t want me at the school. The governors signed an order for my expulsion from Hogwarts because I ‘pose a significant danger to all pupils and staff’” She muttered bitterly. “They say there’s there’s strong evidence linking me to dark magic. I won’t even get to keep my wand.” She sobbed, pulling it out of her robes and gripping it in her hand.
She thought back to the day she got it. She remembered how the midsummer sun beamed down through the windows of Ollivander’s, illuminating the dust in the sunbeams. A young Elise with bright red hair in need of a trim was clutching a wand, watching in awe as it sprayed blue and gold sparks across the room - Applewood, eleven inches, thin and swishy, with a fresh unicorn tail hair. It was perfect for her. Only now that it was being destroyed could Elise truly understand the connection between a wand and its witch. She felt like she was going to lose a part of her – her longest companion, who had been there through it all, was about to be snapped to pieces.
Remus paled. “They can’t… You don’t even have much time left at school” He stammered, but Elise shook her head, placing a finger to his lips.
“There’s nothing I can do. Dumbledore tried to help but they won’t listen. No one will listen to something like us Remus, especially with my aunt.” She pressed.
“But…” Remus started, but then he looked down at his shoes in defeat. The train was slowing to a stop. The familiar yellowing brick slid into view from the window. The platform started to trundle past, tarnished trolleys were strewn across the concrete and parents were struggling to restrain their ecstatic children.
Elise felt the seconds drag on. This was it - the end of the line. She counted for what seemed like hours until the train jerked to a stop, its whistle screeching in the distance. Elise closed her eyes, not wanting to cry. She sighed, stepping aside as younger students sprinted off the train. She could see her parents waiting with tired eyes and dishevelled hair, panic written on their faces.
Elise felt her feet grow heavier as she stepped off the train and walked towards them.
“Wait.” Remus grabbed her arm, stopping her. “I…” He glanced from her to her parents in the distance. “I think I love you.”
Elise smiled painfully. “Well, Mr Lupin, I think I love you too.”
“You can’t leave.” He begged, pulling on her sleeve. She could see the heartbreak in his eyes. She shook her head slowly.
“I’ll write to you.” He said desperately.
Elise couldn’t hold her smile. It dropped into a pitiful gaze She placed a hand on his cheek. “Remus… A werewolf in Hogwarts. It’ll be in the Prophet. Most people already know because of what happened at the dance. I’m a known werewolf with muggle heritage. My blood is about as filthy as it gets and I have close relatives who are death eaters – we have to go into hiding.” She explained. She could feel herself choking up. She hated having to watch as Remus’ face whitened, she could see him breaking on the inside.
“Just my luck isn’t it. I get a crush on the sweetest, funniest girl I could imagine. A girl who truly understands the pain I go through and makes me feel like I can actually live with my condition. A girl who is so unique and beautiful and reminds me that it is possible to keep fighting even when the ones we love don’t take our side. Then when I realise I love her she has to leave.” He told her. “I’ll find you, when this is all over.”
Elise let out a bitter laugh. She couldn’t imagine a life where the world wasn’t going to shit. “Promise?” She asked.
Remus cupped his hands around her face. He hesitated briefly, giving her a chance to move, before pulling her towards him. He kissed her softly. It was bittersweet. Elise felt the joy of finally kissing her crush alongside the devastating realisation that she would probably never see him again. Their lips moved slowly and delicately, the pair of them savouring the moment, but when they sensed her parents edging closer, it became rougher. Elise’s hand jumped to his hair and she pulled him closer, desperate to keep on feeling - clinging on to her final hope of life and love. He did the same, running his hands through her knotted red locks, almost pushing her into him. His hands clutched her with needy desperation. She pressed her chest against him as they backed into the wall, draining each other of every drop of passion. She clung on to the final burst of colour before they separated, and her world faded back to the shades of her black and white television screen.
“I promise.”
The truth was, you were the reason why Remus was standing here in the first place. The full moon had been occurred just the day before and he was struggling to keep his eyes open. But when you had begged him in your letter to come over to James's place with the rest of the Marauders for Christmas to make sure she wasn't the only sane person inside the house, how could he have refused?
Even if you were not calling yourself that way, you were the fifth Marauder and everyone knew it. You were always hanging with the guys, planning pranks with them and laughing at their silly jokes and you were as much of a mischief maker as James or Sirius. You were shy with other people though, always blushing hard whenever someone you didn't know came to talk to you. To Remus, you were like a delicate flower, burning when in full bloom but closing back whenever you felt insecure.
It was probably because of these two sides of you that Remus had fallen for you in the first place.
He loved your silly jokes, and your bright smile, and your casual way of hanging with the four Gryffindor boys. He loved the way you made him feel normal, the way you made him be just a boy, instead of a werewolf in hidings. He loved the way you spent hours with him reading, the way you always waited in the Hospital Wing for him to wake up after a full moon, the way you repaired his broken heart every time you smiled at him with this tenderness in your eyes. He loved how gentle you were with him and with every person you called a friend. But he loved the shy girl that blushed when a boy would ask her to Hogsmeade and struggle to say no because she was afraid to hurt the feeling of a boy she had never met. He loved the girl who bent his head whenever a teacher raised his voice against her, despite how reckless she had been seconds before to do this prank of hers. He loved the girl who cried when she was worried for her friends after a full moon. He loved this fragile piece of glass you were sometimes and that he comforted at night when she had a nightmare and came knocking on the door of the boys' dormitory.
You were fragile and strong and he loved this in you. He reckoned it was a bit the same for him, he had two things living inside him. And of course, he couldn't compare you to his furry little problem, but it reminded him of his own struggles. And it was comforting to see a part of him in someone else. Because he knew that sometimes you tried to be strong but you could only cry, and sometimes you were trying to stay calm but you were like a tidal wave. And it was okay, he also loved the fact that you weren't perfect.
He loved everything about you. So how could he refuse to come if you asked him? Despite how tired he was? He couldn't.
He pulled his trunk behind him down the alley leading to the Potters' house, and finally knocked on the door. He laughed at the sound of your voice shrieking from the inside of the house, the sound slightly shushed by the wooden door but still audible.
"It must be REM!"
You flung the door open, grinning. And the boy's heart skipped a bit at the sight of you.
"REMUS!"
You were about to jump at his neck, your arms already up in the air, but you froze.
"Are you hurt?" you asked, worried.
But the werewolf shook his head, laughing, opening his arms for you.
"I'm a bit sore, but I'm fine," he reassured you.
Your grin came back to your face, and you hugged him, being careful not to hold him too tightly, afraid to hurt him.
"Finally!" you said, helping him with his trunk as you walked back inside the house. "I was starting to feel a bit lonely in here. Sirius almost burnt down the house already, and I spent 45 minutes with the boys trying to catch the lamp of the living room that James had turned into a mouse. And I arrived three hours ago."
"Well, you managed to keep all of them alive for three hours, that's not nothing!"
You both laughed, walking into the living room to find the boys setting a game of Exploding Snaps.
"Hey! Moony!" Sirius grinned, standing to hug his friend.
Remus winced, the boy not being as careful as you, but he happily wrapped his arms around Sirius anyway.
"How are you, Padfoot?"
"I'm away from Grimmauld Place for the holidays, which means that I'm happier than ever!" the boy laughed, and you smiled at the sound of his bark-like laugh.
Remus hugged James and Peter as well.
"We were about to play, mind joining us?" James proposed.
"Sounds fun."
"But we're going to bed early, because Moony needs to rest," you admonished.
"Yes, Mum..." James replied with an impressive eye-roll and a childish voice that made everyone in the room laugh.
"We need butterbeers first!" Sirius realized, walking towards the kitchen.
"So, how are you?" you asked, sitting next to Remus.
"I'm fine," the boy nodded, giving you a reassuring smile. "It wasn't such a hard one. I missed you though," he admitted guiltily.
You rested your head against his shoulder, taking the bottle of alcohol Sirius was handing you and thanking him.
"You're sure you're okay? You didn't hurt yourself?" you insisted.
"I have a new scar here, that's all," he said, showing you his wrist, now crossed with a little white line. "See? Nothing to worry about."
"All right," you nodded, sitting up again. "So... I guess it means we don't have to let you win and I can kick your ass!"
You all laughed, and Remus was grateful for you to have insisted for him to come. Because you and these three idiots were exactly what he needed for Christmas.
After all, Christmas was about family, right?
 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 Remus heaved a heavy sigh. Of course, he had forgotten something. He always forgot something when he prepared his trunk. Always.
This time, it was toothpaste.
"Sirius," he called. "Do you have some toothpaste please?"
"Nope. I borrowed James's," the boy answered.
Remus through his head back, sighing again. It was almost midnight and he was just so tired...
"Where is it then?" he asked.
"In Y/N's bedroom, she used it too. I think she went back to the kitchen though, you can go and take it."
Remus nodded, walking out of the bathroom and nodding at Sirius as he walked before his bed, exiting the room they would share for the night.
He crossed the corridor, and didn't knock on the door of your room before opening it. Because Sirius had told him you were downstairs in the kitchen...
So how on earth could he had ever imagined that you were standing in the middle of the room in your underwear, changing into your pyjamas?
He remained frozen on the spot, his eyes growing wide, and you gasped at the sight of him standing there before your room.
Strange thing, when you recognized that it was Remus, you didn't have the reflex to cover yourself with basically anything. You merely remained standing there, motionless.
You saw his eyes roaming your body from your eyes to your toes, and you blushed fiercely, but couldn't find a way to tear yourself out of your shock and cover yourself, or shout at Remus to turn around or... something, anything...
It felt like you didn't really care that Remus could see you almost naked.
And Remus was just as shocked as you were unless... unless it was of pure awe. He drank up your curves, barely realizing you could be real. You looked too perfect for that, he thought he was dead and had landed face to face with some kind of angel...
But he was the one who shook himself as his eyes climbed up your body and landed on your stare again. His face turned crimson, and he hurriedly covered his eyes.
Although, you reckoned that he had seen everything already...
"Oh Merlin..." he breathed, speaking at an incredible speed. "Y/N, I'm so, so, soooooooo terribly sorry. I... I just wanted to get James's toothpaste, but Sirius told me you had it, but that you went to the kitchen so I didn't expect you to be in your room. I'm so, so sorry, I should have knocked anyway. Please don't punch me in the face."
You smiled, picking up the toothpaste on your bed, and you walked to him.
He could feel you were close to him now, but he didn't dare to move. He was too scared you would slap him. He was too scared his poor heart would explode because it was crazy how fast this little thing was beating right now...
You put the tube of toothpaste in his free hand.
"Thanks," he breathed, closing his fingers around the plastic.
"You're welcome," you breathed, you voice more hoarse than normal.
Remus turned around, still hiding his eyes, and took a step away from your room, allowing you to close the door again.
When he heard the door of your room closing, he finally uncovered his eyes and opened them wide, struggling to breathe...
And he dropped the tube of toothpaste in shock of what had just happened...
 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 He couldn't stop thinking about you. He was exhausted and yet he couldn't sleep. His mind always drifted back to you standing there almost naked. And how could he find sleep with this  kind of thoughts?
He wanted to stand up and walk to your bedroom. He was afraid you would be upset with him because of what had happened. He was afraid you would stop talking to him.
And he also genuinely wanted to be near you.
He listened to Sirius's soft snore next to him, trying one more time to go to sleep. But again your legs appeared on his eyelids.
He sat up. He was done with this shit. He couldn't sleep. He wasn't sure he would ever be able to sleep again after what had happened.
So he slowly stood up, being careful not to wake up Sirius who was sleeping in the bed next to his, and he walked out of the room and into the corridor.
He remained there, pacing for several minutes, biting his nails, before finally gathering his courage and knocking on your door.
There was no response at first, and he waited patiently, thinking you were asleep. But then he heard your sleepy voice whisper.
"Who is it?"
"Remus," the boy whispered against the door. "I can't sleep."
"I can't sleep either."
"Can I come in?"
A short silence.
"Sure," you said softly.
Remus took a deep breath and opened the door to your bedroom, walking into the room and closing the door behind him again.
You were wearing a T-shirt of your favourite Quidditch team, and some old shorts. You made room for him in the bed, and Remus lied down next to you.
"Nightmare?" you asked.
Remus nodded slowly. He knew he was lying, but he couldn't really just answer that he couldn't sleep because he kept thinking about your cleavage, right?
"Me too."
You were lying. But how could you admit that you kept on thinking about the reason why you hadn't hidden your body when he had walked into you?
You both remained motionless for a long while, both of you lying on your backs next to each other but not touching, staring blankly at the ceiling.
And after a few minutes he couldn't bear this silence anymore. He had to ask you this question that burnt his tongue...
"Y/N?" he whispered.
"Yes, Rem?"
"Are you mad at me? For... what happened..."
He struggled to swallow, his throat tightening with fear.
You took a deep breath, summoning your courage.
"No, I'm not," you reassured him.
"Good... I was scared you were..."
"It's okay, Rem."
You heaved a sigh, throwing your patience and caution to the wind. You turned on your side to look at him.
"Rem?"
"Yes?"
"Look at me."
The boy forced himself to slowly turn his head towards you, blushing fiercely.
"I... I was wondering..." you said slowly, your voice barely a whisper. "You don't have a girlfriend, right?"
All the air seemed to have escaped from his lungs.
"No, I don't," he breathed. "Why?"
You shrugged, your eyes fixed on the brown orbs before you.
"I... I think I... kind of... you see?"
"Do you?"
"Yeah... But I bet you don't... I mean..."
"I do too."
"Really?"
"Yeah."
"You're sure?"
"Yeah."
You both grinned at each other.
"You're not going to slap me if I... try... to...?" Remus stuttered.
You shook your head.
He turned on his side so that he could face you.
"It's probably a bad idea though," he said.
"The boys will give us hell," you nodded.
"And you could have so much better than me..."
"Don't be stupid. You know I couldn't."
You both smiled, and Remus raised his hand to your cheek.
"Sirius will never stop teasing us," you said.
"And James will make stupid jokes."
"It's gonna be hell."
"Yep."
"I'm still willing to give that a try."
"Me too... I mean... it's been here for a while, right?"
"Yeah, I think so."
Slowly, you approached your lips from his, and he did the same.
Until you froze, your lips almost touching his.
"Rem?" you breathed.
"Yes?"
"I think I love you."
He grinned, staring at your eyes.
"I know I love you. I've been in love for a while now."
"Me too," you grinned.
"So, you're ready for trouble to fall upon your head?"
"I think so."
Slowly, Remus brushed his lips against yours, but he quickly pulled away, staring intensely at you again.
"I have something to confess first," he said.
"Right..."
"I couldn't sleep because... I kept thinking about what had happened when I walked into your room... and I... I think... you're the most beautiful woman on this earth. And I couldn't sleep because, I just wanted to be near you."
You grinned.
"I was thinking about that as well," you admitted.
"Really?"
"Yes, I... I'm not bothered by the fact that you saw me almost naked. I reckon it's the sign that there's something wrong going on between us."
"Yeah, right... I have to say..."
"Rem, for Merlin's sake, stop talking."
The next second he had crashed his lips to yours, one hand cupping your cheek while the other wrapped around you and pulled you against him.
You couldn't help but smile into the kiss.
Because he tasted like toothpaste...
Jily X Wolfstar
@alohcmoras request with a twist 🎉✨
sorry it took so long😭😭
ok so what if the Marauders studied in Beauxbatons instead of Hogwarts?
I mean, James, Sirius, Peter and Remus are far away from obedient students, so their first priority will still be Hogwarts
But when Remus’ parents had to move to France because his father’s boss decided to transfer him to the French Ministry of Magic during their 3rd year, Remus has to leave Hogwarts to attend Beauxbatons
Sirius would yell,”WE’RE COMING WITH YOU MOONY!” and James would agree and Peter would clap
Eventually Remus gave in to his friends’ begging, and it became his turn to beg his father
When the news of the Marauders leaving spread throughout the school, not many expressed it but they all know that they would miss them terribly
The boys saw that James was spending more and more time with Lily, being much less of a show-off during the last month before the holidays
Remus knew that his best friend would miss Lily Evans badly and needless to say, the kind werewolf felt extremely guilty
So he straight up told James one day that he could stay if he wanted to, but he merely replied with, “I’d be lost without my fellow Marauders”
GRYFFIN-HUG
The four mischief makers eventually found themselves in the Pyrenees in the middle of August
“Ugh!! Look at the uniforms Moony! They make us look like some kind of goodie-goodie two shoes!” “I happen to like the design, Sirius.” “Thank Godric I brought my leather jackets, at least I can be myself on weekends!”
Never mind the uniforms, the boys couldn’t believe that they had to take flying carriages led by pathetic white horses you find in fairy tales (Sirius’ words) to get into the castle, leaving Wormtail into a fit of nerves
But neither can deny that behind the fog, the creamy white castle looked absolutely magnificent
And they were absolutely stunned by the dining hall
It looked like a friggin ballroom
And it was huge
A grand staircase dominated the back of the room, with corridors stretching to unknown hallways on the stairway’s either side
The wall behind it bore blue wallpaper imprinted with flowers that looked like they were really blooming (MAGIC!), the Beauxbatons sign hanging proudly on the wall
There was a small golden stage in front of the staircase, and their were three long tables in front of it, not unlike the one at Hogwarts, except they have these elegant carvings on those soothingly—not blaring, mind you— white wood. Remus was practically bouncing at the artwork so he didn’t catch Sirius staring
The school was quite thoughtful, there were seats at the side of the hall so the newcomers didn’t have to stand at the side while they wait for their sorting
The ceiling was not disappointing either
It was way higher up than the one at Hogwarts
It was built flat, but with a few charms, the ceiling took the shape of caving upwards, much like a temple’s
The night sky that was twinkling with stars became more and more visible as the turrent like ceiling stretched further upwards
It was as if the students were having an Astronomy lesson and using a gigantic telescope
So it was no surprise that the boys were practically gaping at the ceiling, forgetting their too-tight new robes and staring all the way as they reached their seats in the front row
To their disgust, the house they were sorted into by shooting a silver arrow across the room burst into the colour green, and they only breathed a great sigh of relief when their peers told them that Bellefeuille was, in fact, the house of bravery
In the following week, the Marauders found that everything in Beauxbatons was better than expected
The school was big, there were Wood Nymphs dancing around, singing sweetly every time they had meals at the dining hall, and the girls were unsurprisingly, very pretty, according to a bashful Peter Pettigrew, who timidly admitted such a thought. There was even an extra Quidditch match within each house in November, which made Sirius and James squeal like babies
The only two things that weren’t as good was that there were no risky places that could kill you (unless you count the Quidditch stadium that was only about 15% smaller than the World Cup Stadium, in which you would totally break your neck if you fell off from your broom during a Quidditch match) and the headmistress
For some stupid reason, she despised boys
And to make matters worse, Headmistress Dochar (A/N: that means biased) had to teach the subject the boys hated and sucked at the most—Potions
Potions was the most important subject apart from DADA in Beauxbatons, so lessons were frequent and the recipes were complicated
After two weeks of continuous bullying by the Head, Sirus and James finally leapt up from their seats one lesson and openly yelled at the prejudiced woman, ignoring the pleading looks from Wormtail and Moony and the startled faces of the Beauxbatons boys
That earned them 3 weeks’ worth of detention from insulting the one with the largest power within the school
However, the Beauxbatons boys couldn’t help but shoot the Marauders admiring looks every time they passed by since they were the first to stand up to the harsh Headmistress and they soon became the newest celebrities of the school
To double their luck, a young Ms Bellerose replaced the originally dull teacher in DADA in about December
She was the playful type that always got students out from the claws of the Headmistress
And needless to say, she immediately grew fond of the boys’ mischievous personalities
She told them that she would like to start a project on a magical device that could show the location of everyone in Beauxbatons during the Christmas holidays when all four of the boys stayed on the school campus
Remus immediately came up with the idea of a map, and offered to make the map to show the location of people in different magical schools
Sirius had never been prouder
Messrs Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, Prongs and Vulpis (A/N: Vulpis is fox in Latin), are proud to present to you, the Marauders Map
From then on, their DADA professor became more of their fellow adventurer than a teacher. And by March, they had discovered two secret passageways—one towards the highest tower in Beauxbatons, which had a very nice balcony for them to smoke and chill, the other was towards a little street that sold delicious food at the foot of the mountain. Messrs Vulpis seldomly hung out with them since she was still a professor no matter what, but they had great fun every time they did
 It was during their fifth year, before the winter hols, after they lit the librarian’s chair on fire, when things started to get even more interesting
The school decided to open up to other wizarding schools by implanting a pen pal project
“YASSSSS THIS WORLD IS BEAUTIFUL!!!!” The boys literally threw a party when they learned that they were assigned with Hogwarts students so that they could catch up on everything that was now happening in their old school
And because of sheer, dumb luck, James was assigned to none other than Lily bloody Evans
Prongs was basically sweating all over when he received the news, afraid that things had changed between them because he had tried contacting her tons of times and she hadn’t responded at all
She claimed that she was busy with schoolwork while Peter bluntly informed it was probably because she was upset with Prongs leaving school or finding another guy to pay attention to
When James arrived back at school from the hols, he received Lily’s reply and was fuming more than ever when he saw that most of the content was about Severus Snape
Turns out Peter got it right
Prongs spent a whole day ranting on and on about how slimy Snivellus Snape was to touch his precious little redhead when he was
The letter he sent afterwards was too aggressive and it made matters worse
He didn’t talk to the Marauders for a whole day after he received Lily’s rant about how he would never be better than Severus Snape
His friends understood him more than anyone else, and knew that he wouldn’t shut them out no matter what, so when James returned from the Black Lake that night with bloodshot eyes, he found his fellow Marauders sitting there waiting
His tears soaked Peter’s jacket as he sobbed and sobbed and sobbed that night
Moony, Wormtail and Padfoot had never seen their friend so vulnerable
The following Sunday, Sirius and Remus spent their whole day in the common room thinking up plans for their friend and the boy in question didn’t show it, but he couldn’t be more grateful
The loudest high-five in history was created by Moony and Padfoot when James received a reply the next week, the Marauders could basically see Lily smile when they read the letter replying to James’ overly-enthusiastic description of Quidditch matches, Professor Bellerose and the Marauders Map
Sirius and Remus’ plans got better and better in every letter
They witnessed their friend falling hard and fast over again, unaware that they were also falling deep deep deep when they plotted and planned
Peter was having the time of his life watching James using every trick in the book to woo Lily Evans and hearing Moony and Padfoot ramble on and on about each other whenever the other wasn’t there
Everything was going along the flow. Apart from having a professor just as mischievous as them, it was just like old times, only better
Things, unfortunately, went downhill when the calendars flipped to the month of April
Girls had actually started fawning over Sirius, some flirted and some went as far as stalking or throwing themselves at him
It was no surprise, the disowned Black had naturally gorgeous looks
But that didn’t stop anger and jealousy bubbling inside Remus’ chest whenever he saw anyone, let alone a girl (well, aside from James and Peter) touch his darling Sirius Black, although he was in denial of such emotions
The change in their relationship was abrupt and obvious
They still huddled together to plan, for the sake of Prongs, but Remus always disagreed with Sirius on purpose, even if the idea was wonderful
Padfoot himself didn’t know what went wrong with the boy he loved so much, (but he didn’t know it at the time, did he?) and was actually hurt every time Remus started a war with him and never stayed to cuddle with him in the common room anymore
Remus could only stare when Marsha Earl, the most eager of Sirius’ “admirers”, asked Padfoot out openly in the dining hall, both blushing furiously
He lost his appetite immediately when he felt like he was being stabbed in the heart
He left the hall abruptly, terrified that Sirius had such an effect on him, too caught up in his emotions to notice his friends staring after him, with Sirius boring the deepest holes into his back
He didn’t care when he learned that Sirius didn’t agree to the French beauty’s invitation the next day. He stayed as far away from Padfoot as possible, not wanting to get hurt again.
James and Peter both felt really bad whenever Remus joked playfully around them but stayed completely silent around Sirius
James secretly told Lily about the situation in his letters to her, and she replied that she would bet anything that they were in love
He called her bollocks, but Lily’s little challenge was far from the most of his worries
Peter reported quietly to Prongs one day that the girl population were trying harder than ever to get Sirius to like them, and the poor black-haired boy was now having to deal with their constant fawning 24/7
Remus’ behaviour towards Sirius had escalated from ignorance to yelling at each other, calling each other names and sometimes even fighting like they were born enemies
Padfoot had erupted in Potions class once about how pathetic Remus was when he started an argument with Sirius over some stupid herbs that lasted 15 minutes
Peter swore he could hear Remus sniffling in his sleep that night
“Hey Moony, you ok?” “Y…yes, I’m totally fine” “I don’t think so mate, wanna talk about it?” No response
At the end of the month, Remus, panicking as he did every time he was soon to reach the full moon, trembled even more as he approached James and Peter and told them not to tag Sirius along when he transformed this time
The two were shocked as hell, and yelled at him to spill what in the name of Merlin was going on between Sirius and him, a question they had been dying to ask for months
Remus merely shook his head and looked at them with sorrowful and pleading eyes, begging them to listen to him in his own ways
James would have jumped back hollering and rushing towards Sirius if it weren’t for his self-control—he had never seen Remus so broken
Prongs and Wormtail couldn’t bear the thought of their best friend undergoing his transformation alone, so they gave in and everything went according to Remus’ plans
Only it didn’t, the pain the werewolf went through this time was doubled, dare I say, tripled without Sirius’ soothing wet nose of his Animagus form and forehead kisses after the tormenting morphing
Matters became worse when Remus learned that James had spilt the beans that he drugged Sirius that night so he could stay in his dormitory and not follow them to the Whomping Willow
The pain on the werewolf’s body grew more painful when he saw Marsha Earl skipping joyfully into the hospital wing to visit her friend and squealed that Sirius had finally agreed on going out with her the day after
“Sirius!” “Yes, Peter?” “You sure you wanna go out with that Earl girl?” “Of course, she’s gorgeous enough!” “You’re gonna ignore the fact that Remus’ hospital stay had lengthened into 2 weeks after your date today blurted the new out in the hospital wing?”
Padfoot ignored Wormtail and sauntered out the Bellefeuille common room with Marsha, though his heart was aching all over when his friend told him the truth that he had been avoiding with all his might
Marsha was extremely sweet and they could’ve great fun in the Three Broomsticks if Peter words weren’t ringing in Sirius’ head the whole time
So while Marsha was busy partying at said bar, Sirius slipped away at 5 pm, desperate to visit his old best friend
Moony was asleep in the hospital wing when he visited
But he was definitely not sound asleep since he was trembling madly
At the sight before him, Sirius shakenly walked towards the bed and got down on one knee
“Remus, Remus, Moons…please don’t shut me out again…” the voice that came out was hoarse
Remus’ eyes flew open, for he could recognize Sirius’ voice anywhere
“So,” The werewolf’s mouth pulled into a tight smile despite the pain his heart was going through, “enjoyed your date?”
“I mean, I just want you to be happy Pads, you don’t have to care for me, I love you, you know..” “Shut up.”
The two pairs of lips that have been aching to connect crashed together, stronger than a hurricane and firmer than an earthquake shaking the Earth
“He loves me…” was all that was on Sirius’ mind when he pulled at Remus’ bottom lip, coaxing a groan out of both of them
The kiss was an energy-drainer, and the two had no choice but to pull away to gasp for air
“I’m,” kiss “so,” kiss “so sorry Sirius,” long kiss “me too Moony,” they dived back into their own sea
“Can anyone, anyone at all, PLEASE explain to me what the fuckity fuck is happening!?” James bellowed loud enough for the whole dining hall to hear after Remus somehow miraculously healed all at once yesterday, earning himself lots of shushing from the forever graceful girls and professors. (except for Bellerose, of course)
However, the boys were staring at the pair that had just entered the hall, too alarmed to curse
In walked Remus and Sirius, in all their glory, whispering into each other’s ears like they had made up and went a level higher than best friends over a sodding day, which both James and Peter were sure they didn’t meet, like they haven’t for two weeks
The girls, noticing the expressions of the boys, turned towards the couple. Some of Sirius admirers, especially Marsha, went beet red
“Too bad for you mate,” Sirius smirked as he plopped down next to James, pulling Remus down with him, “Evans’ too smart for your own good, she won her little bet fair and square.”
One kiss to the werewolf’s forehead was all it took to confirm the black-haired boy’s statement, and all the boys who had, like Lily, betted with their friends that the pair was bound to get together soon, erupted into cheers
The two Bellefeuilles in question merely tolled their eyes and shook their heads
The school soon accepted the gay couple like any other couple, Professor Bellerose being the largest supporter of them all
During the hols, James sneaked Lily into the Beauxbatons school grounds, chilling on the balcony that the boys loved so much, their long-distance relationship firmer than ever
Messrs Vulpis tagged along once, and she and Lily immediately became the best of friends
Peter blushed as red as a tomato when Lily, ever the accurate match-maker whispered to all the Marauders in the dining hall during the Christmas hols that Peter had a crush on the pretty Marsha Earl, which was quite ironic since he always taunted her for getting in the way of Sirius and Remus’ relationship
The Marauders all persuaded him to ask her out, and he made the excuse of not knowing how to kiss
The consequences after such a statement was disastrous—Moony and Padfoot snogged in both public and private more than ever, saying that they were teaching their ol’ pal Peter how to display affection
In the end, Peter’s single status was also thrown out of the window, and Marsha, now officially Peter’s girlfriend, joined their little balcony gang
And because of the blonde, Wormtail didn’t turn to the Dark Arts, remaining a loyal friend after graduation
Padfoot practically squealing like a baby was an understatement, he was clinging on his husband and sobbing joyful tears when Harry James Potter was born to this world
When Harry turned 11 and it was time to choose which school he should go to, Mr and Mrs Pettigrew merely smiled at each other while Marsha bounced their baby daughter Aquila on her lap, smiles which spoke volumes
Sirius and Remus started arguing, an alarming contrast to the Pettigrew family. Padfoot kept hollering that Harry should go to Hogwarts and Remus trying to glare daggers at his husband (but to no avail) and repeating his statement that Beauxbatons was the best choice
The rest of the people in the room, including Harry and a 2-year-old Aquila, could only watch the two quarrel like 5-year-olds
Harry found himself on the platform 9 ¾ though, despite his Uncle Moony, Uncle Wormtail and Aunt Marsha’s protests
“Of course I’d like to study in the place where Uncle Moony and Padfoot fell in love,” he had said, grinning mischievously, “but Hogwarts is the place it all started, ain’t it?”
Surprising Confessions
Young!Remus Lupin x Reader
Summary: you and Remus haven’t seen each other since leaving Hogwarts for the summer holidays and when you finally get to spend some time alone, he confesses a surprise to you.
Words: 2012
A/N: Okay so this is the first thing I’ve written in a while and is the first imagine I’ve written on here, so please forgive me. This was originally supposed to be a blurb from a prompt given to me by a friend for a first kiss between the reader and Remus but I was watching friends while I started brainstorming what to write and I ended up using a prompt from the show.(in the episode where it’s Thanksgiving and Chandler gets mad at Monica and to make up for it, she puts a turkey on her head and dances around to cheer him up.) Anyway if you haven't seen the episode I highly recommend it, it's hilarious. Anyway, I hope you like it :)
Remus and yourself had been friends for as long as you could remember. You knew about his lycanthropy and had for some time now. You were one of the only people that Remus was fully comfortable around, other than his three trouble making, partners in crime. Before you both came to Hogwarts, you often kept in touch and visited during holidays, but after you were both sorted into Gryffindor you became almost inseparable. The bond you had was growing and over the years developed into a beautiful relationship. It wasn’t until 5th year that the marauders convinced Remus to ask you on a date, on which you spent the day sitting by the lake with a picnic full of food that James and Sirius nicked from the kitchens.
He was so shy while asking you and this was a side of Remus you rarely saw anymore. He had always kept to himself and was closed off from others but you had allowed him to open up. This combined with the confidence he gained from his closest friends meant that you hardly ever saw the quiet and timid part of him anymore. This persona caused new feelings to spark inside of you. You always loved Remus as a friend but new emotions were growing inside of you that were completely foreign.
You became official about halfway through 5th year and you spent every waking minute attached at the hip. Some of your free time was spent lounging in the common room or about the grounds together and although most of your time was spent preparing for your O.W.L.s, neither of you cared as long as you could do it together. After the stress of examinations, you could not wait to just relax and not have to think about studies for a whole summer holiday. However, the thought of not getting to spend your free time with Remus made you a little sad. Not that you cared about being apart, but you had become accustomed to having him around whenever you needed him or wanted to hang out. You also knew that a full moon was nearing and although James promised to watch out for him, you hated not being there to comfort Remus afterwards. This would be the first full moon without you in almost a year and Remus dreaded the fact that you wouldn’t be there to help him recover afterwards. He loved having you near him, even if it was just a simple touch on his hand to reassure him that you were still there and not going anywhere. You were slowly falling for him and him for you.
After the full moon, you hadn’t heard from him, nor any of the other boys, in a few days and this started to worry you. Had it been a bad transformation? Had something gone wrong? Why hadn’t anyone written to tell you what had happened? All of these thoughts clouded your head as you grabbed a piece of parchment and quill from your desk.
             Hi Rem,
             I know its only been a few weeks, but I miss you so much and I hate that I can’t be there to help you right now. It’s making me nervous that I haven’t heard from you or any of the others in a while and James promised me that he’d make sure you were okay. He told me that he would write the minute everything was back to normal. Please tell me that everything is okay? If it is you can tell him he better watch out the next time I see him because I’m going to hex him into oblivion for not keeping me updated. I hate not being there with you guys and I miss all of you. Mum misses you too and she suggested that, if you all want to, you can come and stay at mine for a few weeks. I personally do not think that mum knows what she is getting herself into, inviting James and Sirius together is going to be an explosion waiting to happen. But if you want, you could stay a little longer so we can have some time together. I miss just hanging out with you. Anyway, write back soon, hoping you are well and the reason James never wrote back is that he broke both hands. Miss you. Xx
Y/N
You prayed everything was still alright as you ran down to the kitchen window to send off your letter with your family owl. She gave you an affectionate nibble as you stroked her feathers before tying the letter to her leg. As you gave her a treat, she flew out the window and hopefully would get to Remus soon. You hated not living close to each other anymore, but you understood why his family constantly had to move around and you were glad that he was near James, Sirius and Peter now.
Not long after you received a note from James, apologizing for not writing sooner and begging for you not to hex him, as he knew how good you were at some particular hexes. It was probably the quickest response you ever got from him and you laughed, imagining what happened when they received Remus’s letter from you. He said that everything was okay now and even if Moony said he was fine, it was a hard full moon and he missed you terribly. James was ecstatic that he and the others would be coming to visit and could not wait to visit your mum. James promised to be on his best behaviour and could not wait to come in a few weeks. For the next little while, you helped your mum prepared the spare rooms and went to Diagon Alley with your parents to pick up a few things for the boys stay. It was so great to see some of your friends again and you wished that they could have spent more time with you. Your parents loved all of the boys and could not wait to go and visit James’ parents later in the summer. You spent the time you had outside and relaxing mostly, it was nice to have friends around after a few weeks of boredom. However, it was even nicer to have your boyfriend around again. You never wanted to let him out of your sight and he never wanted to let go of you. After all the boys had gone to sleep, you and Remus would sneak out to the garden and watch the stars, while he told you about what had been happening since school let out. You could tell that he was still down from not seeing you as often as he liked and it was obvious that the last full moon had taken so much out of him. He was exhausted all the time and had a sad aura surrounding him.
After a long goodbye with the other three Marauders, you were excited to finally have some alone time with Remus. It wasn’t that you didn’t get to spend time with him while they were there, but you didn’t want to flaunt your relationship around in their faces. It was nice to have time to yourselves every now and then and it was one of the things you missed most about Hogwarts. You watched muggle movies and snacked away on cookies your mum had made, snuggled close while Remus read his favourite book and even went into Diagon Alley on a date, stopping to get ice cream at Florean Fortescue’s and Remus wanted to stop into the second-hand bookstore to see what he could find. Even after all of this, you could tell that he was still down and thinking about the upcoming full moon. When you came home from Diagon Alley you both went up to your room, just wanting to spend the time you did have left, together.
“Mum?” you called as you climbed the stairs to your room. “Dad?” you called again. “I guess they aren’t home,” you said turning to Remus as he climbed the stairs behind you. The smile on his face was so pure and you could hardly notice the faded scars upon his face. They were something you hardly noticed anymore and as your relationship grew, so did your want to make sure he was happy. Remus plopped down onto your bed and you heard him groan as he stretched out across it, his lanky figure taking up most of the space. You sauntered over to your record player on your desk and turned on a new muggle band that Sirius had told you about, he always had such good taste in music and you enjoyed pretty much everything he gave you. You were quite musical yourself and loved to dance, so new music always made you smile. You knew that when you were happy Remus would be happy and if your plan worked out the way you wanted he would be smiling in no time.
You started to sway around your bedroom as the record spun around on the turntable and giggled when Remus looked at you funny. “What are you doing Y/N?” he laughed light-heartedly.
“Come dance with me, Rem, pleaseeeee” you whined as you shimmied your way to the edge of your bed. You knew that your ridiculous dance moves would make him laugh and hopefully dance along with you.
“Can’t we just cuddle for a bit, I’m so tired and I just want to relax.” He sighed and sat up as you placed your elbows onto the bed giving him your best pouty face. When he didn’t seem to respond to your antics, your dance moves grew more obnoxious and ridiculous, Y/H/C hair flying in all directions. “…I’ll take that as a no then” Remus laughed, swinging his legs over the edge of the bed in hopes to catch you in his arms.
“You’re so lame Lupin,” you teased as you danced a little closer to him, grabbing his arms and pulling him to his feet. The both of you laughing uncontrollably as you started moving his arms in exaggerated movements to match your own. The smile that lit up his face was enough to warm even the coldest of nights and your heart was the happiest it had been in weeks. His laugh rang out and was like music to your ears after the weeks of hurt he had been through.
In the middle of all the laughter, you almost missed his heartwarming confession to you, “You are amazing Y/N,” you giggled as he tucked a piece of hair behind your ear, “I love you.”
You froze and your erratic dancing ceased. The only noise in the room was the music coming from your record player. “What?” you said in a surprised tone. He had never told you that he loved you before. Even though you had been together for a few months now, you both were taking things slow. You had no doubt in your mind that you both cared deeply for each other, but you had no idea that he loved you.
“I said you are amazing, and then I just stopped talking, nothing else…” he said a blush spreading across his face and your face lighting up as he got embarrassed.
“You said I love you,” you laughed, smiling as you flung your arms around his neck and jumped into his arms, causing the two of you to fall back onto your bed. Laughing, you looked into each others’ eyes and smiled. “I love you too by the way” you grinned as Remus pulled you into his chest and planted his lips onto yours, the two of you melting into each other.
“I’m so glad you said it back…” he mumbled as you parted and both of you burst into laughter again. A happy smile making its way onto his face.
“I’m so glad to see you genuinely happy again” you smiled, ruffling his already messy hair and rolling off of him to flip over the paused record.
Under Grey Skies
Chapter 1: The Fallen Star.
This  is a Marauders Era fic, with Jily of course and Wolfstar coming up!  No warning for now I think! Hope you like it ^^
Tumblr media
All you could hear was the sound of the cutlery rubbing the plates while the atmosphere was heavy, cold and oppressive. Sitting in the dining room, with the rest of his family, Sirius, the eldest of The Noble and Most Ancient House of Black, was tilting his chair back on two legs, slamming it in this pesky silence.
His dark hair fell back into his grey eyes with a sort of casual elegance. With his pale skin, his mocking and sufficient smile, Sirius had in him, though he did not particularly like to admit it, all the presence of that old wizard family to which he belonged.
'Toujours pur' was their motto and the generations of heirs had not hesitated to marry between cousins to continue this lineage which they considered to be practically of royal blood.
His father, Orion Black, was enthroned at the end of the table, eating in silence not even giving his family a glance, absorbed into the Daily Prophet. Sirius was nothing like him, neither of appearance nor of temper. Orion was a weak man, always relying on his wife for any questions concerning the family. He was no man of decisions or actions.
His father had coarse features, his jaw was round, while Sirius's seemed to have been carved in marble. His short and grayish hair were flat and dull while Sirius's were dark black and as silk-like. His brown eyes often try to escape other person's glare, while Sirius's eyes stared at you, reading deep into your soul. No, he was nothing like his father, but was instead, the portrait of his mother.
Walburga Black was a tall, slender woman with long, thick black hair that fell on her shoulders with the same elegance as Sirius's, her black and cold eyes were on him at that moment, burning him like fire as she stared at him without a word, as he used to do it himself with other people. Sirius had inherited all his graceful features from her. Nobody could deny that he was her son.
She was exactly what a Black should be. Walburga was née Black herself and had married Orion, her second degree cousin or something like that, Sirius could never well remembered it. By doing so, she was able to continue the pure-blood lineage and thereby, entered the main branch of the family.
He sighed, trying to ignore the silent oppression she was putting on his head before turning his gaze towards his younger brother Regulus. Regulus was like an amateur portrait that someone would have tried to make of Sirius. He had the same dark hair, the same eyes but everything was coarser in his appearance that resembles Orion's features.
He had never had the presence of Sirius, and never would he have it, no matter how hard he would try. There was nothing to distinguish him from the others, not like Sirius, who only had to raise his head for the people to admire what generations of pure-blood aristocracy looks like.
However, Regulus was his mother's favorite son, and Sirius knew that she was waiting for the slightest opportunity to strip him of his eldest title and make Regulus the one and only heir.
He hated his mother and his only motivation for the summer he had to spend at Grimmauld Place, was knowing that he was driving Walburga completely insane.
He put make-up on because he knew she hated that, so he did it more during the holidays, intensifying the black lines around his eyes just to see his mother fulminate each time she had to look at him. She abhorred his long locks falling in front of his face so he let them grow during the summer.
She had ordered him to be calm and posed and to behave himself. So he took pleasure in screaming and running everywhere as quickly as possible, sometimes jumping steps in the stairs making the big portrait of herself she had hang in the hall before the summer yelled at him.
He suddenly rose of his chair without asking permission with a smirk before finally putting his gaze into his mother's, defying her arrogantly. -I'm not hungry; I'm going to my room. He said -Anyway, he add, glancing at his plate with disgust. -I'm not sure you know how to cook meals mother.
-You sit down immediately Sirius; I will not repeat myself to you, ungrateful child. She said that, in a so calm and cold voice, that he saw Regulus repress a chill of horror. He's father, on the other hand, stood still, as if nothing of this was actually happening.
-As I've told you, mother, I'm going to my room. Bonne appétit.
-It's hard to appreciate my meal when you stand before me. She said with that same, ice cold voice, looking at him with disgust. -I still can't believe you're my son. Nobody has ever shamed the Black Family like you did. Befriend that Potter boy, choosing Gryffindor. She continued, spitting that last word as if it were dangerous for her health.
-There, there, darling. Orion said to her briskly, gently patting his hand, without raising his eyes of his newspaper. -Contain yourself, you know he's not worth the effort.
-You are right. Walburga replied, taking her towel to wipe the corners of her lips gracefully. -Your little rebellion is over now Sirius. She continued.
-My little rebellion? Repeated Sirius coldly . -Because you think this is a joke for me!?
-Sit down Sirius, and listen carefully to your mother. Hissed Orion. Yet Sirius remained on his feet, with his hands on the back of his chair, staring at the both of them. - Well, as I see, you prefer the hard way. His father pulled out his wand to point it at him.
Sirius then felt a soft sensation of floating invade him, his head slowly emptying of all worries and fell himself sitting down against his own will. He saw Regulus twisted his hands nervously when he came back to himself, blinking his eyes, having trouble believing that his father had really used the Imperiatus curse on him.
-Good. Walburga exclaimed. -I'll do it sample, to make sure you'll understand every words I am going to say. Sirius glanced furiously at her. -You'll get married when you'll be graduated from Hogwarts.
-I beg your pardon! I will certainly not!
-Sorry but was I, for one moment... said Walburga to him. -Looking like I was asking for your opinion, you arrogant sufficient child! You will do what you are told to do, even if we need to force yourself into doing it.
-So this is it! Sirius shouted loudly, his voice echoing in the dining room as he clench his fists. -You really think I will bow to your inbred marriage! Well, people are damned right! The Blacks are really suffering from insanity and clearly, you two, are the most psychotic of the lot! He shouted before bursting into laughter and standing up again to run out of the dining room. Climbing the steps two by two, trying to get back to his bedroom as quickly as possible, hopping to be faster than his mother.
Still laughing, as he reached the top of the stairs, he could not help it and he risked himself, bending his head over the railing to see if she had followed him. But there was no one. With a satisfied smile, he turned around and then, out of the sudden, he receive a gigantic slap in the face that made him fall to the ground. His mother had Apparated next to him when he'd looked down the stairs. He remained under shock, a hand clutching his face where she had slapped him.
-Now, she said, grabbing him by the hair, forcing him to stand up as he let out a scream, trying to make her let go of him. -You're going to do, what you're told to do, or you can be sure you'll stay here till you've finally learned some manners, but we all know you're a desperate case. She said, forcing him to go ahead. He turned his head to see Regulus walked into his room, looking at him anxiously, holding his door half closed, as he watch the scene helpless. What can he had possible done for Sirius against his mother?
Sirius suddenly felt a pain so intense crossing his body that he collapsed to the floor, screaming out loud while he felted as thought his organs were literally melting and boiling inside of him.
And then, everything stopped as it had come. He was lying on the floor, gasping for air, drops of sweat dripping on his face, has he turned painfully towards his mother, who stood with his wand lifted, ready to inflict him the torture curse once more.
-I never told you to look behind you, but I had assured you, that you were going to obey me. Now get up.
She did not wait for him to stand by himself and she forced him to do so, by grabbing him by the hair again. He was taller than her, he knew he was stronger than her, but his mother was a terrifying woman. He knew, however, that if she succeeded in getting his hands on him, he was over for him, and he'll pay the price, as he was now. Sometimes, only sometimes, he regrets to never know when it was time to shut his mouth up.
He fell hard on his bedroom floor when she finally release his hair and he went painfully to lay against his bed, his body trembling head to foot. Walburga threw a look of disgust at the Gryffindor banners that Sirius had hung around his room with perpetual glues charm, as well as motorcycles and Muggles girls dressed lightly, before finally looking at him.
Sirius closed his eyes, ready to receive the spell again. Despite his determined and stubbornness personality, today more than ever, he found it difficult to be a lion in a pit of snake.
-I should have got rid of you the day you were born, I knew something was wrong with you. She told him, before going out and shutting the door closed behind her.
He finally allow himself to relaxed when he heard her walk away in the corridor and he climbed onto his bed, still trying to catch his breath. Squeezing his fists furiously, his heart pounding, he let out a bitter laugh for himself. What would the others at school says if they could see him right now?
The so popular Sirius Black, that nothing and no one could silence. He, who was always laughing, screaming and jumping everywhere. Honest with everyone, seeming to be above all that was going on in his family, proclaiming loudly every time he could, that he would never fall in the hands of the Dark Arts.
He let out a second laugh which died against the walls of his bedroom, a lump in his throat, his body still stretched, suffocating, hurting him.
Everyone knew that he was the black sheep of his family, that he did not approve of the unorthodox methods of the Blacks, that he dissociated himself from them and that he was always, every time he could, doing exactly the opposite of what his family asked of him.
But no one would ever have imagined that the situation was so painful for him at home, and no one would have thought that he was threaten to be torture for everything, or simply because it was entertaining his dear mother. No one knew that the Imperiatus curse was used on him at least once a day because he refused to answer to his parents.
Only James knew exactly what was going on behind Grimmauld Place closed doors. He was the only one who had seen what it was like to stand up to Walburga Black. And as of Remus, Sirius was trying to keep him in the dark with what it was like to leave there, the poor boy already having enough of his own problems to begin with.
When Moony was trying to find out what was going on, or was close of finding it, Sirius made gestures of impatience and took the boy by the shoulders to shook him, laughing, telling him he doesn't have anything to worry about.
But Sirius knew that Remus was still looking at him over his book, trying to find a flaw in him to learn what was wrong with him and what had happened. He knew he was not tricking the werewolf, but it was so much easier to pretend there was nothing and that he was well, even if sometimes, it was too much for him to bear.
He closed his eyes, trying to calm himself, clenching his teeth, doubting that the next day would probably be a painful day for him and that he would have to pass through it like all of the other crappy days. Life was hell when he was ''home''.
