My Sims 4 Packs
(Updated 6/15/22) Hi all! I've posted a list of all the Sims 4 expansion packs, game packs, & stuff packs that I currently have.
There are links to each one that'll take you to the EA website so that you can get a little overview of what the pack is all about, and I've also posted my opinion on each one and whether I think it's worth it/if I'd buy it again.
Keep in mind I've bought each pack when they were on sale (I've never paid full price for a sims pack and always wait for them to be discounted) and these are strictly my opinion - you might enjoy the pack for your own gameplay and the scenarios you create!
And as always I'll update this list as I buy more and play through them! :)
Expansion Packs:
Cottage Living: I really love this pack, especially for my decades' challenge. The pack adds taking care of different farm animals like chickens, llamas, and cows to your gameplay, as well as different farming options and different things to grow. If you're interested in doing a decades challenge I highly recommend this pack. The clothing and build mode items give cottage core vibes and there's lots of cute new hairstyles. The only downside to this pack is the animals are very needy and need constant care. It's like taking care of a toddler and when you already have a really large household, it can get annoying/overwhelming. Overall I love this pack and use things from it in all of my builds and when I'm in CAS. I would definitely recommend this pack and would 100% buy it again.
Seasons: I'd consider this pack one of the essentials because it adds so much more detail/realism to your game. Your sims now have seasons, weather, and events, and there's a calendar that's really helpful in planning events for your sims. Your sims now have different clothing options too for warm and cold weather and there are new deaths for your sims like freezing to death or overheating to death. The only downside to this pack I would say is that sometimes the seasonal events can get annoying if you keep each of your seasons to 7 days but there are ways to change the length of your seasons (which I should probably do lol). I would definitely recommend this pack and would 100% buy it again.
Cats & Dogs: I loved this pack when I first bought it and would always give my sims pets. I really do love this pack and the world especially that comes with it is one of my favorites since the lots are so beautiful and the map is really large when you're on a lot (Henford-on-Bagley is probably my favorite right now just from my decade's challenge). The literal only thing I don't like about this pack is that the pets can be really high maintenance (like in Cottage Living, but not to that extent). There are ways to get around it like setting up auto feeders, and your sims will almost always autonomously interact with their pets to give them attention. CAS items are awesome, although some of the swatches give major crazy cat-lady vibes. You can also create your own pet and customize the breed, their traits, their coat/coat pattern, and much more. This pack adds the option for your sims to become veterinarians and like the Get to Work pack, you can follow your sims to work and complete tasks for the day. It also gives you the option to open your own veterinary clinic if you choose (there's one already created in the world, Brindleton Bay). Overall I love this pack and also consider it one of the essentials, especially if you want to give your sims pets.
City Living:
Still working on this! Thank you all for your patience :)

facts about me that you could state to my face that would hurt more than that ask did
I own three copies of Okami HD, and have beaten exactly zero of them
I paid $40 for Balan Wonderworld, knowing full well that any enjoyment I drew from it as a game would be ironic, and I plan to spend another $10 on the novel so I can be mad about the fact that approximately two percent of the story actually made it into the game
I played Kingdom Hearts as a kid and was attracted to Zexion, and given I am currently attracted to another edgy squenix bastard with emo hair in the form of Therion Octopathtraveler, my taste has apparently not changed since I was ten
I played Sonic 06 and thought it wasn’t terrible
I learned and did a partial speedrun of PMD Red Rescue Team for the sake of getting on someone else’s Let’s Play of the remake
I tried streaming once, only to have to stop because my capture card ate my sound card
The last week and a half of my Spotify history is comprised almost entirely of the Persona 5 soundtrack and various covers of those songs
I’m a furry who can’t even decide on his own fursona’s species or design
I spend so much time reading Nuzlockes, challenge runs of Pokemon games, games for children, I was brought on as staff of the official forums
I do the aforementioned work as Nuzforums staff knowing full well that it is a volunteer position while I am unemployed in real life
I watched the Kirby anime as a kid instead of doing my schoolwork. Years later, I plan to rewatch it in its entirety instead of seeking employment
I voted for Bandana Waddle Dee in the Smash Ballot
On that topic, I’m a Kirby main! I played through the entirety of World of Light using only Kirby! Like, I love Kirby, but who the fuck mains him unironically like that? I don’t even do that strat of succing your opponents and spitting them out over the blast zone where they can’t recover or taking them down with you, like, cmon
I was in anime club in high school
Despite owning it, I’ve never played Among Us, but I still watch other people play it regularly
I didn’t realize the Guardians of Ga’hoole series was a WW2 allegory until I read the TV Tropes page in high school
I got into Kingdom Hearts for the Final Fantasy stuff, and yet to this day the only Final Fantasy game I’ve ever beaten was the DS rerelease of Final Fantasy III
I 100%ed Breath of the Wild less than three weeks after it released, and proceeded to help various streamers do the same, because I had literally nothing better to do with my time
As a teenager I uploaded two mashups, one of All Star and In The End, the other of All Star and Lonely Rolling Star, to YouTube because in the summer the only device I had to get online with was a Nintendo 3DS, I wanted to be able to listen to them year round, and my 3DS would not play Soundcloud uploads
I’m currently making a mashup of the Balan Wonderworld credits theme and Wonderwall
I think Pokemon peaked in Gen V and I trust Spike Chunsoft with the series more than I trust modern GameFreak
I have owned literally every Animal Crossing game except Amiibo Festival, but I do still own Amiibo from the sets released for it
I’m still waiting for Pikmin 4!
I’m still waiting for another real Chibi-Robo sequel!
I’ve still not beaten the prior games in the series despite owning them, but I’m still waiting for Bayonetta 3!
I dip dill pickle spears in chocolate pudding Snack Packs and I enjoy it
I know all the lyrics to the opening of Pichu Bros. in Party Panic, that anime special that was viewable exclusively on Pokemon Channel
I plan to romance Ann in my first playthrough of Persona 5 Royal purely for the sake of cucking the cat. I do not plan to do this because I dislike Morgana, but simply because I think it would be funny
I say KEKW, Pog, OMEGALUL, and Sadge in real life, with my actual human mouth
I have spent money on microtransactions for mobile games
I bought well over a dozen packs of the Unbroken Bonds Pokemon TCG expansion in an attempt to obtain a rainbow rare Reshiram & Charizard GX. I found zero of them
Until earlier today, when I cleaned out my drawers of old clothes I no longer wear, I owned two Big Bang Theory shirts. Instead of burning them like a reasonable person, I donated them to my local Goodwill for some other poor fool to find
At the age of 23, I still cannot swim
I’ve gotten used to every other bug in my house, including the bees in the walls and the stinkbugs who refuse to just stay outside, but whenever I see a silverfish I consider committing arson
I collect dice but do not play D&D or any other TTRPG, I just think they’re neat
I’m too physically weak to take apart a PS4 controller
I haven’t ridden a bike in a decade, and at this point if I tried I would probably fall over or ride uncontrollably into the street and be hit by a car
I still have art on my wall of a Pokemon character I made in sixth grade at the absolute latest
I buy sketchbooks despite not drawing traditionally literally ever
I cannot draw on a normal tablet, because I look at my hands instead of the screen, and so I had to buy a 2-in-1 laptop to do art
I bite my nails
I compulsively pluck the hairs from my legs
Despite compulsively plucking the hairs on my legs, I cannot be bothered to do the same for the ones that have grown into a unibrow
When I was a child a goose whacked me with its wing
I’ve been bitten by two dogs, one of which bit me twice
Despite domesticated animals hating me, I’m the world’s worst Disney Princess, having taught a grey catbird to recognize Zelda music and having watched the entirety of Avatar the Last Airbender with a baby mourning dove perched in the bush outside the window watching with me
I spell grey grey instead of gray despite being American
I’m American
I’m still on tumblr in 2021
do with this information as you will

My ideal #TheSims5 would be...
Create a World is base game included. It has fail safes and error guards to prevent causing problems with routing. You can shape the landscape with mountains, trees, rocks, bushes, landmarks, etc, and be able to place as many lots as you need. Would require a better program that Sims 3 CAW.
It comes with 3 basic built worlds like Sims 4
It's completely open world like Sims 3
Cars and boats and other vehicles are DLC options. If there are horses, we should be able to buy a wagon or carriage.
It comes with cats and dogs do start with and you can have DLC to add other animals if you want them. And if you want wild animals (to wander your world or to live in a preserve) this should be an option too. You should be able to choose only the items you need for your style of play.
Hunting should be an option. I don't even care if it's a rabbit hole like the bear hunt in sims medieval. I like there were steaks in Sims 3. Not everything has to be cute in the Sims .
Some grit and hardship without dying from embarrassment from peeing your pants like a toddler is required. Give the sims some dignity. Hypothermia? Fine. Drowning when you're so tired you pass out? Fine. Laughing yourself to death, stupid.
Gardening plants should have unique meshes that look like real plants. Dragon fruit does not grow on a bush and corn doesn't grow on a vine. I want to utilize all of my ingredients in something. It took several packs before I had a use for bluebells in my game other than simoleons. That's not acceptable.
Off the grid options should exist in base game. Roughing it in all forms should be base game. People love rags to riches challenges. Being poor should be base game, not take 10 packs to get a bush to pee in, an option to make candles, and live off the grid. Mansions should take 10 expansions. Cities should take 10 expansions Capitalism should take 10 expansions.
The ability to make swimmable water features that are not pools, like lakes, rivers, and waterfalls.
Lots of DIY activities for the sims, especially survival related. The woodworking table was good but it had so few items. The eco fabrication thingy was cool but big klunky machines is what I hate about sims 4. Like the telescope and microscope.
Population control. If I want an uninhabited island, I should be able to have one without mods.
Cars are DLC options on an individual basis. Otherwise you have to take public transportation. I hate yellow cabs in sims 3. A public bus, train, or subway. A transportation career should be an option.
There's like 10 different cars in sims 3 I didn't use because I prefer horses, broomsticks, boats, and motorcycles and the occasional cc car. It really bloats the game to have so much unusable stuff. Maybe an option to hide objects you don't use.
Variety in community lot types.
I love the lot traits in Sims 4.
I love the changing lot types like the seasonal community lot in sims 3 and the eco living community lot. More of that!
Sims should be able to join a religion as in sims medieval. Custom religions would be interesting, which would influence sim behaviors and feelings.
Babies grow into toddlers, grow into children, grow into tweens, grow into teens grow into young adults, adult, middle age, and elderly. Ghosts are optional.
Supernatural/occult sims should be DLC on an individual basis. If I want witches and ghosts but not aliens, it should be so.
Time periods in history can be adjusted in options. It limits what sort of items you can use or clothing.
Be able to change colors and textures like in sims 3.
Bunk beds are base game.
Weather should be base game.
Illness, injuries, and cures should be base game.
Individual adventure options should be DLC. Individual careers should be DLC.
So say I have base game, my sims can take plant remedies to get better, which requires a skill, but to get "better care" you have to buy the hospital expansion that comes with the career, but also can be adjusted to some kind of economic heathcare system that you can choose. Taxes vs deductables.
User created custom content can be part of the game. People can get paid and EA can get paid for making crazy good custom content.
Self employment should be base game.
I don't want to sell on plopsy. I did like selling on the market tables on sims 4 but it doesn't always work the way I want it too.
Risky and autonomous woohoo should be a thing as should birth control without an expansion. Like even, say my sim can eat a plant and have all the woohoo she wants without pregnancy. Moodlets can be like a honey moon period, or there could be conversational based moodlets. A couple could have a conversation to "try for baby" and they get autonomous action moodlets to encourage this behavior until pregnancy is achieved. A "fertility treatment" should be a temporary moodlet from a hospital, not a trait.
Recycling should be base game. Especially breaking down recycled materials such as metals, glass, and plastic for home building materials or diy materials (like bits and pieces from sims 4 eco lifestyle)
Lots of slots for clutter. I don't like having to cheat to place objects closer together or on top of a shelf.
Wall height adjustment to any size. Auto roofs, custom roofs curved roofs, different textures. stairs of all types including spirals and ladders included in base game. Free window and door placement. Clear roofs, clear floor tiles should be available if wanted. Ceiling tiles should be a thing.
Have a full range of gender expression and sexual characteristics.
Hide /unhide mailbox to have bills and items automatically delivered to your inventory. The ability to auto pay,
Cell phone should have an option to turn it off. Turn it on, get lots of calls, invites, opportunities, etc. That's fine. But the Sim gods give and take away when it's their game.
Consequences to your actions. Don't have a criminal career without crime and punishment in the world. And yes this should be a playable career.
Don't have fires without firefighters ever again.
Have the option to turn off public services like police and fire department if desired.
I hate rabbit hole careers but some people prefer them. Jobs should have all have rabbit holes and all have options to follow to work. Even school.
Pristine graphics.
A meaningful emotional/mood/trait system.
Favorites: music, color, genre (movies and books), food.
Custom music could tie in with a service like spotify.
Game music (build/buy, maps, and loading screens) is obnoxious. I like how in sims 4 you can turn it off.
I understand fish go bad but don't let me forget to put thing in my fridge. Store all harvestable and fish at once in a fridge.
Little pop ups that tell you about a book the sim is reading would be a nice touch. You should be able to buy books your sims wrote and edit these text pop ups so that they can be shared with the gallery.
Speaking of the gallery, there should be a Sims 5 gallery.
There should also be a virtual real time sims online community. Add friends and visit each other's houses, world, etc. Your sims social media account is on there too. You can share what your sim is doing with their blog posts, followers, videos, etc. Subscribe and let your sim watch them on any screen in the house or get updates on what they are doing or if they're throwing a party which you can be invited to or hear about later. It's all built into the game seamlessly. (I know. But... This is my fantasy sims game!)
I love what they did with the inventory in sims 4 with one of the updates. Keep that.
Every expansion should come with a world. And the builds should be worth buying the world. Otherwise give us the power to create and share our own so that people who can't build or don't want to spend the time can have access to quality creative content.
I know I'm kind of all over the place but this is the kind of game I want.

「the sims 4」animal crossing challenge, redux
original animal crossing challenge by simifymecaptain (deactivated, but archived here!)
because i’m way too excited for animal crossing on the switch, i decided to try out the animal crossing challenge! but, the original rules are older & the original simblr deactivated.. i hope they don’t mind that i’m taking this challenge & adapting it to new expansions, & new information from animal crossing: new horizons leaks! ♥
the animal crossing challenge is a mix between rags to riches, & a collection challenge! i hope you like the rules i’ve come up with, as this is my first challenge i’ve officially made! if you have any suggestions or questions, please send me an ask!
basic outline:
even though animal crossing is a sandbox/open end game, the basic “goals” of animal crossing are to finish your fish, bug, & diving encyclopedia, complete the museum, pay off your house, please the happy home academy, upgrade the town, enjoy holidays, catalogue items, & make friends! therefore, to translate this to the sims we can come up with these..
complete your museum
upgrade your "town”
enjoy the holiday events (seasons)
make friends
pay off your debt
what’s this like?
you will play only as one single sim!
you will have to earn all your money from selling items from your own town!
there are many, many holidays to celebrate!
prepare to make many friends, & get villagers to move into your town!
build your town by adding public works projects & other fun items to your town
extreme goals available!
full rules, recommended cc/mods, & more under the break! this is a HUGE challenge.. so prepare to read !! ♥ good luck, & have fun !!
starter building rules:
first off, you need to build your “town!” you can build your own, use the premade one from the original challenge (on the gallery by SimifyMeCaptain), or maybe i’ll upload my lot when i’m done?? :)
must use the largest lot (64x64 if you have the expansions with them, 50x50 if you do not)
you may use unlimited money to build your lot, but once the building requirements are done, you must set your household funds to §0.
indoor items must stay inside (example, don’t cheat out of your small room by putting kitchen items, beds, toilets, & other necessary items outside)
all other buildings & public works projects not listed below must be built & purchased with earned household funds.
housing rules:
build at least 3 small houses, one for you, & at least two for other villagers.
each roommate must have their own separate house (no room sharing or “apartment” style houses)
all houses must be the same size, square, one single room, single story, 6x6 grid space.
must keep your own sim’s room empty. all items placed in their room must be bought with household funds, not with the unlimited building funds.
fill the other houses with furniture, but you must lock your own playable sim out of the house so they can not use the items.
extreme rule: objects can only be placed locked on grids, with only 90 degree rotations, like animal crossing!
museum building rules:
your museum needs 5 rooms, one room for each of the following: fish, bugs (frogs if you don’t have outdoor retreat), fossils, & art, with a lobby/entrance in the center. no collectables go in the lobby.
you may decorate these rooms how you want, as long as they do not add any skill building objects.
you may add rooms on the second story for other collectables, if you decide to do the extreme/extra goals of finishing other collections. this must also have 4 rooms, with a lobby. this must be built with your earned household funds.
additional building rules:
don’t forget to build your town tree !! you’ll want to put a small tree, & replace as you get through your challenge with bigger ones, or plant one yourself in a planter
no skill building items can be purchased with unlimited building funds, except gardening planters. the rest must be purchased by earned funds. (yes, you need to purchase your easel!)
if something can be considered a “public works project,” you may not use unlimited funds to add it to your lot. these must be built with your own earned money.
optional: build a building as your “re-tail” where you can put extra skill building objects. these items must be bought from your earned household funds.
optional: you may build a “town hall.” this building can include a only 2 useable (non-furniture items): a computer & locker/dresser. computers are really needed in the sims 4 to do necessary things, & shouldn’t be used for fun or skill building! your sim will need to purchase their own computer to use it for that.
optional: you may build a small “camping” style bathroom with a shower, sink, & toilet for use without having to put them in your villager’s small houses. you sim may use this restroom.
you may build your town on any neighborhood.
once you’ve built the place, it’s time to make your own villager! ♥ use the freerealestate cheat to move them in, then set their money to §0 by using the cheat “money 0″ both of these cheats require “testingcheats true” on, first!
sim & gameplay rules:
your playable sim:
can be any age, gender
can choose any traits, but can not change them later. modded traits are permitted.
can choose any aspiration, & can change your aspiration once completing it. modded traits are permitted.
villagers/roommates sims rules:
one of the challenge goals is to fill your other houses. you must do this while keeping the other sims a non-playable character. discover university now includes roommates! you can either put an ad for roommates, or make friends & ask them to be your roommates. roommate mods: littlemssam’s roommates or kawaiistacie roommates no matter which way you choose to add roommates, they must be an non-playable character.
you may edit your villagers’ looks in CAS, but you may not change their traits, aspirations, or age.
if your roommates give you rent money, you may use it to pay for bills.
additional gameplay rules:
your sim may NOT have a full or part time job! all funds must be made by selling fish, insects, paintings, fossils, other collections, etc. just make sure you keep one of each in the museum!
your sim may be employed as a freelancer, or do odd jobs (island living)
anything that your sim can sell is a viable way of money! don’t forget about woodworking, flower arranging,
benches placed outside ONLY may be slept on during the start. your sim can not sleep on comfy couches in the museum or town hall!
pets are allowed! dogs & cats must be adopted through the phone/computer & paid for. you may then edit them in CAS to your liking, but do not change their age/traits.
aging does not need to be on.
you can leave your town/lot to use other lots, of course! you’ll need to, to get collections & such :P
your villagers (roommates) may help you with chores, as long as you’re not asking them to. you can also purchase a patchy the scarecrow :)
you may NOT hire a maid/butler, etc.
mods are allowed, as long as they are not used to make money, or make collection finding easier. do not use mods that change the households’ bill percentage.
you may NOT use cheats, other than when you are first building your lot, move objects, setting your money to §0, or if you want to change the appearance of your sim/pets.
holiday calendar set up: (seasons)
add these holidays to your calendar! you’ll need to have 28 (or 21) day long seasons. ♥ make sure you get gold!
festivale: any day in spring. traditions: art & music spirit, grand meal, party spirit.
valentines day: any day in spring. keep love day & its traditions!
bunny day: any day in spring. traditions: flower bunny, egg hunt.
april fool’s day: any day in spring. traditions: mischief spirit.
parent’s day: any day in spring. (combined mother’s & father’s day ♥) traditions: give flowers.
weeding day: last day of spring. traditions: gardening.
bonfire night: first day of summer. traditions: fireworks, bar-b-que, party spirit
labor day: last monday of fall. traditions: go on vacation or travel.
halloween: last day of fall. traditions: spooky spirit, trick or treat, wear costumes.
harvest festival: any day in winter keep harvest fest & its traditions!
toy day: any day in winter keep winterfest & its traditions!
countdown: last day of winter keep new year’s eve & its traditions!
you may keep lottery as it was in the original AC!
you may also celebrate any surprise holiday, but do not have to gold it!
if you want to have sims off of work is up to you, as it will only affect your friends/roommates.
completion goals:
complete your museum with every base game fish (22), insects (21, outdoor retreat. frogs if you do not have that expansion, 25), fossils (15), & one of each painting painting goal includes one of each of the following: playful, flirty, confident, sad, angry, focused, classic, pop art, realism, abstract, surrealism, impressionism, & landscape painting. extreme goal: complete the paintings with each being a masterpiece.
complete the second floor of your museum by purchasing an observatory.
fill your town by having sims move into the other houses, & stay without moving out for a whole sim year
have at least 10 good friends, including being best friends with one of your resident villagers
build 10 “public works projects” such as a campground, fire pit, jungle gym, fountains, etc on your town’s lot
complete all the holidays with gold rewards! (seasons only)
pay off your debt by having all bills paid after completing all the other challenges
extreme goals:
if you enjoyed this challenge, try to finish these extreme goals!
complete every collection! you’ll need to get every alien (10), crystal (20), elements (15), fish (22), fossils (15), frogs (25), gardening (32), geodes (6, get to work), insects (21, outdoor retreat), metals (20), microscope prints (12), mysims trophies (20), postcards (14), space prints (15), & space rocks (4). you may combine rooms in the museum if they make sense (ex. metals, crystals together)
complete the fishing collection with expansions! full fish list found here.
collect all the flowers & “hybrids”, & reach level 10 of gardening. reach level 10 of flower arranging (seasons)
complete the “friend of the world” aspiration
purchase & build a retail lot to serve as your own “nookling junction” where you can sell extra items for money! this goal is complete once you’ve build a “T&T emporium” & have made 50 sales! (get to work)
purchase & build a restaraunt to serve as your “cafe” public works project. this goal is complete once you’ve got a 5 star restaraunt! (dine out)
cc recommendations:
sims 4 furry mod - to make animal villagers! by no means required, but they’re pretty cute to make for your roommates! ♥ littlemssam or kawaiistacie’s roommate mods systemdata studio - animal crossing series - walls, apple series, citrus series, & more just like in game! lana cc’s animal crossing tag - for misc animal crossing cc!
please share your towns!
please please please, if you’re doing this challenge, use the tag #TS4-AC-redux or @ me, @pluwumbob !! i’d LOVE to see what your towns! also if you have any questions or suggestions, please send them my way! i’m so excited to know what you guys think !!

Snowy Escape, Rainy Parade
While Snowy Escape is a much better Pack than the far, far out there Batuu, the more I find out about it, the more I feel like it should have been part of Seasons (which didn’t have a world, mind you, despite being an Expansion Pack). Heck, it feels simultaneously held back because it is not part of Seasons (cherry blossom viewing in parks in spring, leaf viewing in autumn and so on), yet at the same time half its world cribs from Seasons by having weather.
As such, it suffers from the same malady that Island Living does, and that is that it feels like a Game Pack with a slightly larger world.
Also, even though things like sentiments have been made part of the base game, when you start a new game now, sims like Bella Goth and Nancy Landgraab who have supposedly existed for years before the start of the game has no sentiments like the new pack sims.
And this lack of synergy between packs (and base game) just limits everything a lot IMO, and exists, I believe, because they’ve divided the content up in so many packs that it is too high a barrier of entry, even with constant sales, to get new players should they utilize synergy (the alternative is, of course, to make a pack so full with stuff that a player would not miss the synergetic elements, which this team would never do).
I guess where I stand right now when it comes to the packs is that these should have been grouped together like this in order to match expectations set in Sims 1, Sims 2 and Sims 3:
Expansions Packs (7 packs, was 10 packs before)
Get to Work + Strangerville + Journey to Sixam (Magnolia Promenade was small, Strangeville was small, both seemed to be near base game locations, and Sixam was small and far away, but together they may make a whole EP world’s worth of locations! Also, no SW tie in but fleshing out of aliens.)
Get Together + Discover University + Bowling Night (It’s all about that Young Adult life, and attend an old, storied university in old Windenburg, or perhaps attend a more modern one in Britechester? Make bowling teams and study groups with clubs and so on.)
City Living + Dine Out (Waterside Warble should have been a restaurant. There should have been a rooftop restaurant. City Living has the whole “learn global foods by eating at stalls” mechanic. Dine Out decor fits in City Living’s aesthetic... Also, should make the Big City bigger to fit expansion expectations)
Cats & Dogs + My First Pet + Movie Hangout + Cool Kitchen (The first two are the same pack divided, and the second two are to make it as robust as the other expansions on this list, but if not, they should be together among the stuff packs as one homebody pack.)
Seasons + Snowy Escape + Spa Day + Fitness (Yeah, I’m going there. These four are totally treading on each others’ toes like drunks on a dance floor.)
Get Famous + Luxury Party + Moschino (Glam, bling and designer stuff plus photography for the paparazzi, which could actually be an active job, going around in a larger Del Sol Valley photographing celebs.)
Island Living + Laundry Day + Eco Lifestyle + Tiny Living (They just seem to fit together, I wonder why~lol, also having a tropical paradise just off the industrial harbor is just the kind of thing Sims worlds do, and would make the worlds larger, which is important in an expansion. That Laundry Day only came with one type of each laundry washing options means that it is not enough alone. There should have been silent luxury washing machines, clunky, old used tumblers who wake sims at night rooms away/on floors above and below and different kinds of clotheslines, buckets and the likes. Also, could have some lore/story about an evil business expanding to exploit the islands and causing trash to wash ashore and whatnot)
Game Packs (4 packs, was 9 packs before)
Outdoor Retreat + Jungle Adventure (Forest Vacation pack.)
Vampires + Vintage Glamour (Now you can have vintage vampires stuck in more eras than the semi-Victorian one. Also, you should be able to get a vampire butler and a ghost maid with this pack, if not Bonehilda.)
Parenthood + Kids Room + Toddler + Nifty Knitting (Just a family gameplay pack.)
Realm of Magic (+others that would fit. It is just more than a stuff pack, but too little to be a full game pack IMO.)
Stuff Packs (1 pack, was 17 packs before)
Perfect Patio + Backyard (Yeah… Even then it feels just about the same as the smaller stuff packs for previous iterations.)
Free (1, was 1 before)
Holiday + Spooky (Then Spooky can be incorporated in Seasons properly.)
Total: 12 paid packs and 1 free patch to synergize (was 36 paid packs and 1 free one before), and the packs themselves cover enough that no one will miss a feature or two by not having the synergetic pack (say, if the City Living festivals lined up with the Seasons, or the Parenthood collection have special vampire interactions with an undead ancestor...).
The alien-work expansion would have been such a fanservice pack if they included lore about a Bella clone and whatnot.
Heck, even if they divide the packs into 36+, the lack of synergy between them is so jarring even when you buy most of them for $750 if you don’t wait for sales, and do I recommend waiting for sales now.
Heck, wait until the base game is free and then buy it on 50% off sales and it still feels a bit thin and reedy and watered down for that money’s worth, though it has become better.

*:・゚⍟ The End! ⍟*:・゚
I’ve finished exploring the Realm of Magic content with the Goths, so that’s all for this short story! I’ve always wanted to do something with the Goths on Sims 4, they’re my favorite pre-made family, I just didn’t know what to do with them until RoM was released. I mostly use my Berry family for everything Sims 4 related, but since my legacy save is a whole generation ahead of where my blog is at with them, Realm of Magic was the perfect opportunity to bring the Goths in. I wanted to start playing and posting magic-related content right when I got the pack, so this was the perfect time to play with them!!
This may be the end of my adventure with them on Sims 4, but I’ll be resuming my Goth Legacy on Sims 2 now, and I also have plans to start a Sims 3 Legacy with them as well when I finish playing through the Sims 2 content. (I’ve got about 6 generations planned for Sims 2, and Sims 3 will be similar to the Berries where I just keep going until I run out of DLC to play with.)
I really enjoyed Realm of Magic a lot. I feel like it could have been better if we had gotten a whole expansion for it, but this is better than no spellcasters at all. My favorite thing about The Sims is all the occults and silly things that are in the series, so I’m glad Sims 4 has been catching up to previous games on occult life states lately! Realm of Magic, Vampires, and Cats and Dogs are the only packs I’ve paid full price for, and I don’t regret a single penny. ♡
Also, if anyone is interested, I did post my Sims 4 Goth family to the Gallery! My gallery ID is the same as my tumblr URL: Sheepiling

What I’d Want Out Of Sims 5
So, thanks to renovation madness kicking in, I only had one mini-update for you guys regarding what’s actually happening in my Sims game. To fill the gap, I figured I’d give you all a quick list of what I’d like to see out of a semi-idealized Sims 5 (I say “semi-” because these ideas are made with the assumption that this is a game company looking for profit and thus paid expansions will always be a thing). I’m doing my best to keep this simple, as I could go on for probably literal HOURS on the subject of what I’d like to see done, but this should sum up what I think would be best:
1. CAS -- I think most of us would agree that Sims 4 CAS is actually pretty good, and that being able to make changes directly on the Sim is a great development. Where it falls a little short is in the personality section. To whit, I propose the following:
-->Bring back favorites from The Sims 3 (like favorite food, color, etc)
-->Bring back turn-ons and turn-offs from The Sims 2 (like a Sim likes blondes and glasses, but dislikes tattoos)
-->Rejigger how many traits each age group gets (I was thinking that toddlers should keep their one toddler-specific trait; children get two traits but one HAS to be picked from a short list of traits that fit with the toddler trait they got; teenagers get three, possibly four traits, plus the bonus trait from their aspiration category; young adults and up get five traits plus the bonus trait. I’ve also seen people suggest implementing “fatal flaws” like the ones from The Sims Medieval, or possibly going back to the point-build system of the first two games. Maybe you could even combine traits with the point build?)
-->Bring back hair physics because come on (I like the more cartoony style but come on)
-->Keep the CAS Story randomizer but unlock the bonuses so players can put them on Sims manually at will (like I would like to)
2. Aspirations -- I actually like that Sims can switch between lots of different aspirations between categories, but I do agree that it can make Sims feel less special, and I do kind of miss the aspiration system as it was in Sims 2. Therefore I propose the following compromise: You still have multiple aspirations grouped under larger categories, but your Sim can only choose two categories to focus on (like, they can be a Knowledge Sim with a lesser focus on Family, or a Romance Sim with a lesser focus on Popularity). They can do all the aspirations in those categories, but if they want access to more categories, they have to earn unlocking them through some sort of challenge. (Or have their players cheat them in.)
Also, bring back wants and fears, lifetime wants, the aspiration meters, aspirational breakdowns, and the silly items you could unlock with aspiration points (the potions are fine, but I kinda want my zappy needs-filling machine back). Sims 2 really had it going on!
3. Worlds -- Okay, I LOVE that all worlds are available in a single save file now, and that my Sims can visit all of them. If we can keep that and just reduce/speed up the loading screens. . . I personally can live without a proper “open world” a la Sims 3, but being able to visit my next-door neighbor without a loading screen would be nice.
4. Expansions -- The Seasons, University, and Pets expansions should always be the FIRST expansions worked on, as they’re some of the most popular and really change how the game is played (particularly Seasons!) For some specific thoughts on each:
-->Seasons should have the calendar and holidays from the Sims 4 version, the seasonal festivals from the Sims 3 version, and the relationship/skill boosts from the Sims 2 version. Also snow should have depth.
-->Pets should include cats, dogs, horses, and a variety of small pets (birds, lizards, rodents, rabbits) -- and if you MUST give the small pets their own separate thing, DON’T TIE MOST OF THE CONTENT TO THE MAIN PETS PACK. Nobody wants My First Pet Stuff again.
-->University should probably follow the Sims 4 model, but maybe add in the occasional active class, and make the University world a bit bigger -- or maybe add in more worlds with a university? Hmmm. . .
Related to that point, I would also suggest that vacations in SimWorld be revamped so you can just vacation in specific spots in other residential worlds, as well as having specific outside places to go (as I like Sulani, but I’d like it more if it was a vacation destination).
5. Activities -- Starting from the top:
-->Just put in cars from the start, or fit them into an early expansion, as people want them no matter what
-->All Sims of all ages should have a variety of hobbies in the mode of The Sims 2 Freetime, with magazines, private clubs, and whatnot
-->Children in particular should have child-friendly objects like the muffin oven and the lemonade stand from Sims 2 to give them more to do
-->Bring private school and the admission challenge with the headmaster back from Sims 2
-->Give all careers “active” days where you can join the Sim for a special event (like a musician Sim doing a big concert) -- I actually think this makes more sense than having plain old “active” careers, as I’ve discovered that going with your Sim to work all the time can get -- repetitive. You could also do this with school days for littler Sims.
-->Also, personal pet peeve, but Musician should have its own career path where you can choose to be a rock star or a classical musician -- Entertainer then can focus on Stand-up Comedy or something else.
-->Related, Woodworking should be its own skill and not lumped under Handiness.
-->We have responded surprisingly well to laundry, so maybe include more chores linked to specific items? My specific ideas are for a vacuum cleaner that makes floors dirty, and a lawnmower that makes grass sprout and weeds appears in the lawn.
7. Occults -- Okay, this one is probably gonna be at least a little controversial, but I’ll put it out there:
I firmly believe every occult life state should have its own game pack where it can be explored to the fullest.
Reason? Sims 4 Vampires. It is my absolute favorite take on vampires in the whole series and I feel like all occults should follow its model. Imagine if we’d gotten a mermaid game pack where they had an underwater world! Or an alien pack with even more to Sixam! Realm of Magic comes close, but I feel like the Magical Realm should really be bigger. . .also Spellcasters should have permanent weaknesses, not just curses one can dispel with the right potion or spell; potions should need more ingredients and be harder; and familiars should be treated as a special category of small pet. (Let me interact with the cute dragon, damn it!)
Also, children should be allowed to participate in occult life states, even if their powers are a little different -- I mean, come on, Sims 1 had a whole set of kid spells for your junior spellcaster! How is it that’s the only game where that’s happened?!
Aaaand okay, I am indeed starting to ramble. Yes, this is what happens when I try to keep it SHORT on this subject. *facepalm* I promise to go back to picture updates next week!

Sims 4 Patch Notes
UPDATE: 4/16/2019 – PC 1.51.75.1020 / Mac 1.51.75.1220
Happy April, Simmers. Nice to meet you! Maxis hired me as a freelance writer to work on these game update notes. (Side note — if you find a problem, blame SimGuru Graham — he’s my editor.) In all honesty, it’s a pretty sweet gig. I got to see the new Expansion Pack, Game Pack, and Stuff Pack that the team is working on, and did you know that they bring in bagels on Fridays? But hey, enough about me. Being a freelancer, I’ll be gone again before you know it.
Anyway, funny coincidence; there’s actually a brand-new Freelancer career arriving in this update that’s free for all players. I was playing around with it earlier, and go figure… my Sim self earns more money as a freelance writer than I do! Geez; guess I’ll have to live out my fantasies of getting rich through The Sims again. Looking beyond the new, free features though, I’ve got to say… those SimGurus really knocked it out of the park with this one. Just look at all those lovely fixes to many of the top discussed community issues!
Well, let’s get to it, shall we? Here’s everything you’ll find in this April update. Have fun!
Yours truly,
Sue D. Nym

FIXES & UPDATES
The Sims 4
Sims will travel to the correct venue when invited out to an event by a NPC Sim.
Fixed an issue where the UI would occasionally indicate that a Sim was at work, when they were actually at home, which would block access to the Sim’s inventory.
Sims will no longer receive random phone calls from other Sims between the hours of 8pm and 10am, allowing them to enjoy a full – and speedy – night’s sleep.
Fixed an issue where multiple music tracks could end up looping and playing simultaneously.
Expecting parents will once again be able to “Take Family Leave” via their phone to take time off from work.
Fixed an issue where a Sim who had cheated with another Sim romantically, were then unable to successfully propose to that Sim and get married.
Fixed an issue where Sims in the eSport Gamer branch of the Tech Guru career were not earning money when programming video games.
The Pick Up Serving Together interaction will no longer cause one of the Sims involved to fail to route to the food.
Fixed an issue where interactions on the Digitalistic Sketchpad object would disappear if a Sim’s actions were canceled while they were picking up the Digitalistic Sketchpad.
Updated the Digitalistic Sketchpad object so that creating paintings on it will satisfy Aspiration goals and work tasks that involve painting.
Fixed an issue with the Lin-Z Smart Speaker, where the interaction to hire a Gardener would remain unselectable, even when the home had a garden that needed tending.
Sims will now look at the Lin-Z Smart Speaker when speaking to it.
The “Pre-Owned Painter’s Easel”, that’s unlocked via the Painter career, will now provide an Inspirational emotional aura, instead of a Focused emotional aura.
Fixed an issue where staircases were not rendering properly while held by a mouse cursor.
Updated positioning of overlapping Search & Reset buttons in a player’s catalog within the Gallery.
Adjusted icons of Lunar New Year recipes to better display what food you’re looking at within an inventory.
The children’s Yin & Yang Necklace will no longer clip into their neck when wearing a shirt that’s tucked in.
The “CleanRoom” wall pattern, which was previously missing a name for its 5th color variant, has now had that specific color variant named “Like Sand”.
Added the ability to click through different pack art on the main menu for any of the packs you currently have installed.
A new content alert icon has been added to individual careers within the Select a Career panel, to help players find new careers that have been added to their game.
Note: If a save file created prior to this update contains a Sim that’s already in this bad state, simply traveling to another lot with that Sim will permanently fix this issue.
As far as I’m aware, this is the only instance in the game where a color variant has been given a unique name. Huh… neat!
Mac
Fixed an issue for Mac users with Intel integrated graphics, where the mouse cursor would not move properly after adjusting the shape of a Sim’s body in Create a Sim.
Removed an outdated file that was causing a false error message to appear for 64-bit Mac users that said, “The Sims 4” is not optimized for your Mac and needs to be updated.”
Get To Work
Scientists will once again wear an appropriate outfit when going to work even if StrangerVille is not installed.
The “Chemical Analyzer” object can now be purchased from Build Mode without having to use a cheat.
Fixed an issue where selecting the Randomize from Gallery option until receiving an alien Sim, and then further randomizing that specific Sim, could result in a naked alien Sim.
Made updates to the list of valid objects that can be selected as the outcome of the SimRay’s “Transform Object” interaction.
City Living
Fixed an issue where objects from multiple festivals were appearing on top of each other in the neighborhood simultaneously.
Apartment landlords will now leave the apartment immediately after addressing a tenant’s complaint.
Added the ability for Sims with the Vegetarian trait to hire a Vegetarian Caterer by clicking on Stoves or Refrigerators.
Vegetarian Sims will no longer enjoy eating Mud Carp.
Cats & Dogs
After installing this update, Sims who adopt an animal after befriending them will be able to become companions with them and lecture them for misbehavior.
Fixed an issue where hungry pets would not eat from food bowls autonomously.
The pet toy box will no longer have its position rotated in a random direction when a Sim returns home from an active career.
Fixed an issue where the “Litter-Matic Scoop-Free” litterbox wasn’t looking clean after cat poop had been removed.
Fixed an issue with the Pet Adoption Agency, where they would occasionally show up at a Sim’s home without any pets to adopt, and would simply stand at the home’s front door and not do anything.
Note: Sims who have already adopted an animal after befriending them, in a save file created prior to this update, will continue to experience this issue. We’re investigating a separate fix for this issue in existing save files.
We’ve placed the magic gnomes responsible for this in the naughty box alongside SimGuruNinja.
Seasons
Updated the Gardening career so that Sims will earn more than 10 Simoleons per completed work shift.
Fixed an issue where on days where no holiday was set to occur, a Sim’s work schedule would update to falsely indicate that the day was a Holiday just prior to going to work, causing the Sim to stay home for the day.
Fixed an issue where NPC Sims were not autonomously using the skating rinks that appear in certain neighborhoods.
Toddlers will no longer attempt to queue up behavior to “Run Inside” during bad weather conditions if they’re already inside.
Fixed an issue where Sims voices could not be heard when Singing Together around a Holiday Tree if City Living was not installed.
Get Famous
The Acting career task to “Get Into Hair and Makeup” can be successfully completed once again.
Fixed an issue where celebrity Sims who had been set to use their normal walkstyle were switching back to using the celebrity walkstyle after traveling to certain types of venues.
Three star celebrity Sims will no longer use the celebrity walkstyle.
Dine Out
Players who have City Living installed can now add the Siopao and Ensaymada dishes to their restaurant’s menu. Yum!
Vampires
Vampire Sims created after installing this update will be able to continue to gain points after reaching the rank of Grand Master.
Fixed some circumstances where Vampire NPCs could appear at a venue and prevent the player from being able to save the game.
Fixed an issue where NPC Vampires would have their Vampire Energy drained after completing a load, which was causing them to idle in place instead of performing their expected autonomous behavior.
Note: Vampires that already exist will continue to experience a problem with gaining points after reaching Grand Master. We’re investigating a separate fix for Vampires in existing save files.
StrangerVille
Fixed an issue where Sims that had been shared to the Gallery after completing Act 1 of the StrangerVille Mystery would be blocked from progressing in the mystery when downloaded from the Gallery into a new game.
The following environment objects, which were created for StrangerVille, have been added to the Build Mode debug catalog to allow placement on lots. Players must enter the bb.showhiddenobjects cheat before they can be seen in the catalog.
Added proper images to the Officer and Covert Operator branches of the Military career.
Removed the “Question about Spores in Lab” interaction for Sims who have already acquired the Modified Hazmat Suit.
Removed the “Heart of the Pack” styled look from Create a Sim, as it was authored using clothing that’s only available to Sims that have joined the Military career.
Updated the pack information panel on the main menu to not display world objects under the Build Mode Items.
10 different cacti
3 different Joshua trees
3 different RVs
2 clusters of rocks
2 junked cars
A group of desert flowers
A military truck
A tire
A parking stop
My First Pet Stuff
Fixed an issue where deleting/selling the rodent habitat could cause the game to become unresponsive.
Holiday Celebration Pack
The Crown Roast platter will now show a partially eaten state when half of its servings have been taken.
I’d like to adjust the wording here, as this issue was not specific to stray pets and there may be confusion. The bug was happening if you became Friends with the pet before using the Adopt interaction. You HAVE to become Friends for Adopt to become available on a stray, but some users were encountering this by petting their computer-adopted pet a bunch of times before hitting Adopt.

Animal Care Career for Sims 4 (3 Branches)
Download HERE
Check out my Patreon HERE
You need the Cats and Dogs expansion
Do you love animals of any kind? Then this career is the one for you. Whether the critters in question run, swim or fly you'll be taking care of them and educating the public along the way.
Level 1 - Bird Watcher
The best way to learn about animals is to watch them in their natural habitat. So get some binoculars and a thermos of coffee, because you'll be out early in the morning come sunshine or rain.
Level 2 - Kennel Cleaner
That's right you're scooping poop, it's not enjoyable work but someone has to do it. At least you get to see all those cute animals every day so it's worth it...Right?
Level 3 - Dog Walker
Well, now you get to be out in the fresh air getting some exercise with your favourite furry friends...Although you'll still have to clean up poop occasionally when the dog does their business in a public park.
Level 4 - Pet Shop Employee
So you're working in retail now... Which is better than picking up poop...Marginally.  At least you're rewarded with the smiles on sim's faces when they find their forever friend, even if you don't understand the appeal of a voidcritter as a pet.
3 Branches: Exotic Animal Specialist, Pet Specialist and Equine Specialist
Exotic Animal Specialist:
Level 5 - Zoo Keeper
And you're back to scooping poop, boo! But it's elephant and lion poop instead of dog poop so... Yay? Be sure not to confuse the penguin and polar bear exhibits, and please don't forget to shut the gate behind you.
Level 6 -  Circus Trainer
I hope you're not afraid of clowns because you're off to join the circus! Make sure those lions can jump through the hoops and stock up on peanuts for the elephants.
Level 7 - Safari Tour Guide
Time to get up close and personal with wild animals, and there are no fences this time. And on top of that you're educating other sims on these majestic beasts, so make sure you can tell the difference between a Bengal and a Siberian tiger.
Level 8 - Dino Researcher
So it turns out some billionaire called Roger Hamster has a plan to bring dinosaurs back to life! Something to do with mosquitoes and amber? It doesn't matter, he's offered you a generous salary to come work in his labs. It probably won't work but it should be interesting at least.
Level 9 - Raptor Trainer
Well, it actually worked, who would have thought it? But there's a problem...The three raptors who just hatched imprinted on you so now you're moving out of the lab to train and take care of them. Now Roger wants to turn the island into a theme park, what could go wrong?
Level 10 - Park Administrator
The good news is Roger's plan worked, and the park is open for business. The bad news is that there was...An incident on the day of the opening...Involving Roger and a T-rex. But wait, good news again, you were the only candidate who wanted to take his place, so now you're the boss...Congratulations?
Pet Specialist
Level 5 - Groomer
It's time to brush those knots and trim those nails, make those coats shimmer and shine. Just watch out, not all pets enjoy their time at the vet, so keep some treats on hand for when Mr Fluffles gets grumpy.
Level 6 - Pet Trainer
"Sit" "Roll Over" "Paw" These are all commands that you'll become very familiar with. Have patience because even the most difficult of students will get there eventually.
Level 7 - Pet Show Judge
Who has the shiniest coat? The cleanest teeth? The best walk? These are all question's you'll need to consider as you decide who deserves that coveted trophy. And watch out because some of the competitors may not like your decision.
Level 8 - Professional Breeder
Puppies, kittens and chicks oh my. You'll be surrounded by the cutest of animal babies, try not to get too distracted by playing with them. And try not to get too attached because unfortunately, all these cuties have to go to new homes eventually.
Level 9 - Veterinary Student
It's time to hit the books and brush up on the difference between Swamp Mouth and Lava Nose. You'll also be shadowing a fully qualified vet so be sure to pay attention, they may well have some words of wisdom for you.
Level 10 - Veterinarian
All your hard work finally paid off, you're now a fully qualified Veterinarian, congratulations! But don't put your feet up just yet, there's still a lot of hard work ahead of you. So put on your rubber gloves and get your thermometer it's time to diagnose and treat those cuddly critters.
Equine Specialist
Level 5 - Stable Cleaner
Mucking out stables is your primary task, but you also have to groom and tack up the horses ready for lessons. It'll be hard work but on the plus side, you get free riding lessons.
Level 6 - Riding Instructor
The student has now become the teacher, it's time to pass your skills on to others. Get ready to brush them off and patch them up if they fall off. But remember the number one rule is to get back on the saddle after you fall off.
Level 7 - Groom
You've been hired as the groom for a competitive showjumper, Poppy Fundell. This job is a lot more complicated than it sounds, you're not only responsible for grooming the horses to make them look perfect for showtime, but you're also responsible for making sure the rider has everything they need and running any errands that they need doing.
Level 8 - Excerciser
Title Description Your employer now trusts you enough to exercise their horses, that means riding or lunging them every day before competitions to keep them fit and sometimes warm the horse up before competitions. It's a big responsibility so make sure they don't regret it.
Level 9 - Professional Showjumper
You've learned a lot from your time with Poppy, she was selling one of her horses and you leapt at the chance to start your own showjumping career. Who knows maybe you'll end up competing head to head with Poppy herself.
Level 10 - Olympic Showjumper
A huge congratulations to you, you've been picked to join the Olympic showjumping team! Now's the time to work hard and go for the gold.

Holiday Celebration Pack
The Crown Roast platter will now show a partially eaten state when half of its servings have been taken.

The sims 4 was supposed to be some big innovative game because it had new things like emotions compared to the past sims games. It’s been out FIVE YEARS now and it’s starting to show it’s age. For example, in the sims 1 you got pets and that was mind blowing as it was. In the sims 2 your pets could have jobs and they had lots of different accessories. In the sims 3 you could have god damn horses, in ANY colour you wanted. Rainbow horse, cat or dog? All yours. You know what the sims 4 ‘cats and dogs’ gives you? Glitches. Half the time the cat or dog doesn’t even survive on their own and they’re not playable.
EA has no current news for a new sims game five years down the road. They’re releasing expansion packs with updates to make some of the gameplay different but they have an entire expansion pack (Dine out) unplayable and for months there has been no update to fix it.
It gets frustrating when sims have seemingly no realistic reaction to what happens around them. A sim dies in front of them and they’re sad for two days. Cry in bed for 12 hours straight and your sim forgets the dead sim ever existed. What if traumatic things like this actually affected our sims? They could get permanent ‘buffs’ or ‘debuffs’ that give positive or negative moodlets that affect them the rest of their lives. The longer the sims lives past the event the less and less the moodlet appears.
Like what if two sims got divorced? They have the same reaction to if someone died. They’re sad for two days then they move on like it never happened. What if depending on what happened at the time of the divorce it affected the rest of the sims life, less and less as they aged. If you were sad when getting divorced maybe you’d get a sad moodlet that lasted a few hours every now and then. But after a week of play time it would only show up every second day. Then two weeks after it would show up every three days and for only half an hour.
Or if you were holding a drink when you were divorced you would get a tense moodlet afterward until you had a drink. You could work around these, either giving into the moodlet to make it go away, causing the moodlet to appear much more frequently turning your sim into an alcoholic or you pushing through being tense all the time until it barely ever affected you at all.
Maybe if a kid was present in the room during the divorce, whoever moves out gets a sad moodlet ‘I miss my kids’ every now and then that only goes away by talking to them, even on the phone. And if you called at times where the kid couldn’t talk, like school or midnight, the debuff wouldn’t go away. Making them constantly sad like some people feel in real life who just can’t be with their children.
Imagine playing an elder sim that had a divorce when he was a young adult and you’d notice that maybe once every ten days he would get into bed but he wouldn’t instantly fall asleep. For say ten minutes he would lie there with a sad moodlet. Maybe that moodlet would just be called ‘got divorced’. Then he’d fall asleep and wake up in the morning without the moodlet. Like in real life, some people’s pasts affect them.
There’s always cheats and in-game items that make everything better, so no matter what happens there would always be a way to get around positive or negative things abut your sims that you didn’t like. But years down the line it gets stale and boring when you play this game only to watch your sims barely notice the effort you’ve put in for them. Your sim and their husband barely talk because you’re both working weird hours? Oh well, you’ll get to know each other again when you’re old and retired, right? Imagine if your sim got sad when their relationship with their partner went down, making them want to go on a date or spend time watching tv on the couch with someone?
If they ever do release a sims 5 I’ll be excited, but these little updates to sort of distract us from the rest of the game being broken are annoying. They want me to pay $40 god damn dollars to play as a mermaid that only works in water? How about fixing the parts of the game I already paid money for first.

20 Questions for Simmers
1.) Favorite Sims Game
While I have played and loved every version of The Sims, I think my absolute favorite was The Sims 2. It was the one I couldn’t put down! The little details and humor are what really stand out when I look back, and I don’t remember having any real problems with it either since the game itself was pretty solidly developed and bugs tended to be squashed quickly. Overall, I was never bored playing The Sims 2 and I still occasionally boot it up just to reminisce.
2.) Yourself in 3 Traits
Ambitious, dog lover, neat
3.) CC or No CC
I play with a small amount of CC. Everything I download is Maxis-match, and I pull pieces out whenever we get new official content that I can use instead.
4.) Preferred Part of the Game
I really like each part of the game and try to spend my time evenly among them. Lately I’ve been building and messing around in CAS more than actually playing though. Oops!
5.) Favorite Expansion Pack
In The Sims, my favorite EP was Makin’ Magic. I was so young when I played that I thought I was incredibly clever for figuring out the pattern to the spells in the dueling arena so that I’d win every time. And I had a lot of fun creating one of each type of potion and then trying them out on the poor, unsuspecting townies!
In The Sims 2, my favorite EP was Bon Voyage. I spent so much time completing every single vacation memento! Some of them were really hard to figure out too, so finishing the collection was really rewarding to me. All three of the destinations were equally fun to explore with their local dances, gestures, foods, and massages. I could really feel the difference between visiting Takemizu Village, Twikki Island, and Three Lakes.
In The Sims 3, my favorite EP was Ambitions. The firefighter career and the new inventing skill were the real highlights to me. I spent weeks creating a Simbot without cheating, and firefighting was a really exciting change from the standard rabbithole careers. Another neat feature was the ability to sculpt statues of Sims. Never-melting ice sculptures looked great in mansions, and of course stone sculptures made great monuments to ‘famous’ Sims in town.
In The Sims 4, my favorite EP (so far) is Seasons. The weather effects are beautiful, the raincoats and rainboots and umbrellas are adorable, kiddie pools are the greatest item ever created, and temperature is just such a vital addition that it's finally starting to feel like a full game for me! Seasons and weather in general also function differently in each world, which is perfect. I didn’t want snow in Oasis Springs, and Brindleton Bay desperately needed fog and rain to feel complete.
6.) Favorite Game Pack
In The Sims 4, my favorite GP (so far) is Vampires. I never really liked this life state before, but this time around they’re fantastic! The abilities help differentiate each vampire from one another, and I love that they don’t have to ask permission nicely before biting a Sim. The sticker cracks and spider webs are also something I’d been wanting to help make places seem less perfect. Overall, the life state seems so detailed and sets a much higher bar for future life states. I don’t even mind paying for each individually if they’re this well-done.
7.) Favorite Stuff Pack
In The Sims 2, my favorite SP was H&M Fashion. Honestly, I just really loved all the new clothing that kept my Sims from constantly matching each other. And building a clothing store with all the cool retail items that came with it was a lot of fun too!
In The Sims 3, my favorite SP was Town Life. The rabbitholes were more modern and added some variety since most of the others were the same building with slightly different colors. I had a lot of fun remodeling my more modern worlds with them.
In The Sims 4, my favorite SP (so far) is Laundry Day. I’m a sucker for realism elements so adding another menial chore for my Sims makes me happy. The laundry system is surprisingly complex, the furniture filled in a lacking farmhouse style I felt was missing from the game, and stackable machines look perfect in apartments. The clothing and hairstyles were also very well-done and I have to actively try not to overuse them on all my Sims.
8.) Least Favorite Expansion Pack
In The Sims, my least favorite EP was House Party. It felt like the smallest addition we were given, and parties weren’t enough for me to explore more than a handful of times before I got bored. As soon as the next EP came out, I moved on to the new content and I don’t think I ever threw another party again.
In The Sims 2, my least favorite EP was Nightlife. It wasn’t bad at all, it was just the one I used the least. My personal gameplay style at the time was incredibly family-oriented and you just don’t take your kids to clubs. I only ever went to the new Downtown subhood for first dates and a few marriage proposals since the date interactions were pretty cute.
In The Sims 3, my least favorite EP was Showtime. I don’t think I ever really played with anything from it. The ‘optional’ online connection where you would send your Sims to someone else’s game to perform really made me mad since some of the items you paid for were locked away behind it and I had no desire to participate. And the whole in-game news feed and achievement system were horrible and really caused problems. The venues were also super glitchy so even when I did give the new active careers a go, trying to complete a performance was almost impossible. Overall, the whole thing felt like more trouble than it was worth.
In The Sims 4, my least favorite EP (so far) is Get to Work. I think my expectations were just too high going into it. The active careers are okay, but none of them make me actually want to follow my Sims to work past the first few days because they get highly repetitive and there’s no real risk associated with them. The retail system also seems a bit lacking. There are very few retail items to use when building a store, although I do have to mention that the clothing mannequins are pretty cool. And actually running it is too easy since you can just instantly restock the items even if they’re unique things that you’ve made your Sims create.
9.) Least Favorite Game Pack
In The Sims 4, my least favorite GP (so far) is Spa Day. It’s not nearly as immersive as the others. There isn’t much to do outside of getting a massage or doing yoga, and both are kind of boring to do repeatedly over and over. It doesn’t expand on the gameplay nearly enough to be categorized as a GP in my opinion; I’d demote it to SP.
10.) Least Favorite Stuff Pack
In The Sims 2, my least favorite SP was Glamour Life. It added the least versatile stuff. Most of my Sims weren’t swimming in cash, so the items, particularly the clothing, were rarely used since they’d look and feel out of place.
In The Sims 3, my least favorite SP was Katy Perry’s Sweet Treats. I didn’t even buy it and I have no idea why anyone did. The objects were all horrible and cheesy. There was literally nothing good about it. At all. Ever.
In The Sims 4, my least favorite SP (so far) is My First Pet. No matter how many times they deny it, it’s a massive money grab. The furniture set literally completes what they left incomplete in Cats & Dogs! The clothing is for the most part just recolors of what we already have! And to top it all off, there’s just one new critter. They claim four, but it’s the same thing with a different skin overlay. I am perfectly fine with some items in a pack being dependent on owning previous packs so that they can continue to expand on past content. But to release this immediately after the associated EP and for it to pretty much be the rest of the items that we were missing from said EP...certainly seems like they withheld content just to wring an extra $10 from their players. Especially since it wasn’t even mentioned in their quarterly teaser. Haven’t bought it, and will not until it’s on sale.
11.) Custom or EA / Maxis Sims
EA / Maxis Sims are the best! I adore the premades and their unique, weird stories. My favorite thing to do is make them over and put an interesting spin on their storylines while still keeping them recognizable.
12.) Households or Single Sims
Definitely households. I prefer organized chaos with lots of things going on at once! There just isn’t enough to do when there’s only one Sim.
13.)  Free Will On or Off
Free will is always firmly set to off in my game. I’m a dictator when it comes to my Sims and I make no apologies for that.
14.)  Favorite Life Stage
Toddlers. They’re just so darn cute! The expanded skill building this time around is really cool since they actually learn in discernible stages instead of all at once, and I’m still not over their ability to go up and down stairs all on their own. The little mess-makers also have some of the cutest interactions with other Sims and their environment.
15.)  Favorite Life State
Aliens. The first time I ever had a Sim abducted was in The Sims 2, and it terrified me because I had no idea what was going on and didn’t know if he was ever going to come back. Then he was finally returned and popped out an alien baby! It was just so surprising and ever since I’ve had a particular fondness for extraterrestrials.
16.) Favorite Skill
Cooking is probably my favorite skill to build. Something about getting to see what those difficult dishes look like is just fun to me. Since The Sims 4 actually includes 3 separate skills for cooking, gourmet, and baking skills I’ve been having a blast discovering all the new recipes!
17.) Ever Completed a Legacy
Only once, way back in The Sims 2. It lasted a grand total of 16 generations before I wound up making the move to The Sims 3. I’ve tried numerous times since then, but The Sims 3 was too buggy to play a single file that long and The Sims 4 is still missing a couple of key features that I’d like to have before trying again.
18.) Longest Simming Session
When I had more free time (and was significantly younger), I happily confess to wasting away a full weekend playing The Sims 2. These days I’m lucky to get a couple hours a week here and there. Ah the joys of growing up!
19.) Personal Sims Wishlist
There are a few things I’m still really missing for The Sims 4. I’m hoping universities and witches are making a comeback soon as they’re crucial to my planned storylines. Fairies, werewolves, and a beach vacation world would also be wonderful to have but they’re less important to me.
20.) Unpopular Opinion
I don’t miss the open world system from The Sims 3 at all. I’m perfectly happy trading it for every world to be connected. Every save file is a megahood and I find that preferable to a single, completely open world. I also think that it makes the game more stable for everyone, especially lower-end computers. The loading screens are worth it!

The first sims mobile game was released in February of 2000. The common edition of The sims mobile 4 does not involve the expansion packs or particular digital content material like Cats & Dogs, Get Renowned, or Strangerville—but it does contain free of charge updates to the game, like the new profession possibilities, like freelancing, that was added to The sims mobile four in April.
