loop pokemon team? eyes? looking with my eyes loop pokemon team?
actually. whole gang pokemon team, thoughts?
hilariously enough i was already typing this but you had the misfortune to ask me directly. fucking get ready. if loop had a pokemon team they'd for sure have mimikyu. i don't think i have to explain mimikyu. honestly i think they'd mostly have ghost types. i like the idea of chandelure and yamask. again pretty self explanatory. also hisuian zoroark, for its batshit dex entry. they could have a gengar if AND ONLY IF siffrin has a clefable. for non-ghost types minior's an obvious option. maybe emolga i think they could vibe like hell with emolga. perhaps sharpedo? i do think it would be funny if sif and loop shared a pokemon but i don't know which one . maybe the emolga
the rest of my insanity going under a cut because oh dear god
i can believe in siffrin having a slightly more mixed team. clefable as mentioned to match loop's gengar (also because funny moon). perhaps pelipper (Island). also aforementioned potential shared emolga. they should have a cat. perhaps delcatty. i think it'd be fun to have a vivillon since the regional pattern would effectively be entirely unique to siffrin's assuming they got it on the island
mira's like fairy/grass to me. i think she should have a mega altaria or mega audino either work. funny whimsicott? i think she'd vibe like hell with a ribombee. she'd also vibe with meganium i think. perhaps lilligant or lurantis? her party's vibes are fucking Immaculate.
isa should get a leavanny i don't make the rules. i think he tends towards rock/ground/steel but the leavanny is key. he could hang out with an excadrill i believe this with my heart. shiny nidoking for trans rights? i believe in lycanroc but i don't know if it'd be midday or dusk. probably midday. i think he'd have the world's chillest ursaring
odile gets mainly psychic/ice it's just her energy to me. i feel like she'd roll with an aurorus. i think she could have a froslass and they would have girlboss solidarity. perhaps gothitelle i think they'd vibe. i think it'd be a little insanely funny if she had a hatterene because if that thing wasn't evolved it would've mauled siffrin and loop to death so quickly. i also think it'd be funny to throw something like an obstagoon or a krookodile in there just to really keep them guessing
Bonnie My Love... they'd have swirlix for sure. i think they should have some manner of cute little bug like a spinarak or a joltik. it just feels right. hisuian growlithe could be a slay. i could believe in something like a torchic. i know its basic but i think theyd have fun with a riolu. the puncher. i think it'd be fun if they had a pancham and nille had a pangoro
SURPRISE NILLE. nille has the aforementioned pangoro. i think it'd be wonderful if the pans were also siblings. she'd have primarily fighting i think. she would get along with breloom i believe this in my heart. i think it'd be pretty fitting for her to have a bewear. perhaps hakamo-o (she would not have high enough levels for a kommo-o LMAO). i think she'd like zangoose because she'd think it's fucking awesome (she's right). i think it'd be nice if she had like a minccino friend to help out with chores. i literally feel so bad for nille she can have a beloved rodent who helps keep the house clean

"oh i should do the gen 4 national dex it will be a fun relaxing summer fun activity" i tell myself like a fool. i make my little spreadsheet. Oh, I Can Get Torchic Via Pokewalker! How Simple! I am a fool. I have been pokewalkering for 3 hours straight with no torchic. i know its there because i encountered one (1) torchic and it fled from me like a coward. im convinced this map is cursed . fuck sightseeing (the pokewalker map not the concept) and dont even get me started on the johto safari zone. "what if we made catching pokemon unenjoyable" they said. There is no skill there is only balls and it costs 500P just to run around like an idiot trying to find fuckign. lombre or whatever. who even cares. the johto safari zone is so beloved because it is in HGSS and everyone loves these games and they have different terrains and many different pokemon. but everyone who loves it is a fool. why is it entirely luck based. what do you mean rare pokemon can simply leave at any time for any reason for funsies. i cannot fathom shiny hunting in this godforsaken place. "oh let me place 10 rocks down randomly in the grass, rhydon will love this" <- statement by the utterly deranged. and then there's the grinding. i love fighting gym leaders over and over again, i say, like a liar. i love the pokewalker except for right now, when i need a torchic, and i am so so sleepy, why was torchic even in this thing. the other maps all have a theme to them, but torchic is out of left field. what does this bird have to do with sightseeing. i sure as hell am NOT sight SEEING it jesus christ please i just . need torchic . for my pokedex. i havent even finished the regional pokedex yet because of the grinding, because i am at the Home Stretch so to speak for grinding. the only pokemon left i need are like, dragonite adn tyranitar and mewtwo and lugia who are all such high levels and dear god i am so tired. i havent beat red yet; why is his team in the 80s. who designed this. i have like almost 150 hours in this game and my team is not even at the 60s yet. this is going to take forever.

The E4 friendship with Drayton gives me life fr so I'm coming in hot with Amarys and Drayton friendship!!
I will say that this is heavily influenced by my personal hc that Drayton has ADHD (for being unmotivated in classes, lethargic/sleepy a lot of times, eating something like the Academy Special and snacks for multiple texture, being keenly observant of his friends to name a few) but I like to think that Amarys would help him when he's like having a bad brain day
Amarys just makes me think that she has multiple items on hand that could make good fidget toys! Chains, little metal trinkets, just something that Drayton can fiddle with. Amarys also speaks in a clear, concise way that makes it easy for Drayton to understand / pick up the tone right away so he secretly appreciates that! I can also see her perhaps helping him in ways to make taking notes / organising school work more manageable when he's really not the sort to sit in the classroom
In return I can see Drayton being quick to defend Amarys if someone misunderstood her stoicism for being rude, standoffish, etc. IIRC he was the one in the game to say that despite acting that way, Amarys has a sensitive side. He's observant of his friends and cares for them a lot so he won't tolerate anyone being mean to them. Could also see Drayton showing Amarys his Archaludon and discuss various ways to care for Steel-types like how to polish em so that they don't rust, type of feed to give, etc
AND if we're having each of them giving him a Pokemon, I def love the idea of Amarys giving him a Piplup! Lil fella that plays around with the Cleffa and Torchic till they're tuckered out and now Drayton's trying to pick up three lil babies without waking any of them up
Tumblr media
Me reading that
Anon that's so fucking soft😭😭
Oh I love this, this is canon to me, this is canon in my heart
But oughgh I just answered an ask too saying that Amarys would give Drayton an A. Sandshrew bcmdnd but Piplup is still a dope choice tho, imagine if it's like Dawn's Piplup in the anime hahah love that funky lil shit hahaha
Also Amarys having lil items that are like fidget toys is just so special to me, that reminds me of my friend🥹 her letting Drayton borrow them, giving him smth to do. Y'know imagine if Amarys is one of the very few (probs the only one really lmfao) peeps who'd actually lend him her notes. I picture her like,, the one to take notes but never really using them much, she's a good student, and like Crispin she memorizes a lot of things quick (plus small hc from me, that she's the kid of Lenora and Hawes, and ofc those two are really smart ofc their kid would be smart af too hahah), so she usually just gives Drayton her notes, often telling him he could keep it
Carmine wonders why Amarys would just give her notes which she really went above and beyond to be so clear w stuff to Drayton who'd just crumple it while he's studying. If he even studies. But hey, Amarys didn't mind, not like she needed the notes much, plus she knows how Drayton has a hard time w class too, sometimes the notes would be enough to let him pass their tests
Anyways your honour BB E4 friendship real, god now I wanna make more stuff abt them, their dynamics w each other, they're interesting ofc, it'd be dope if we still get more of them if we do get bw3
But yeah anon omf love this hc, it's canon to me, this has a special place in my heart, Drayton w BB E4 friendship is so so real

Happy STS! I hope you've had a good week! What pokemon would each of your characters have? Is it what people would expect them to have?
Oh crap! I do not know enough about pokemon to answer this question well! XD At this point, most of my knowledge comes from Drawfee episodes. So these picks are all based on look and vibe! Thank you so much for the ask!
Marek: Morpeko --no one is surprised because he loves his hamster Baguette
Emmett: Torchic --people are surprised it's not some god-like evolution that could end the world
Fox: Snorlax --It's sleepy. No one is surprised
Gareth: Cubone --they've bonded over their traumatic histories
Reeve: Blipbug --I feel like Reeve would attempt to opt out, everyone would make their choices, and he and this nerdy little bug would be the two left and end up with each other. everyone is like, "that makes sense."
Alex: Psyduck --Everyone knows he enjoys the company of pathetic telepaths #dragReeve
Hannah: M̸̘͉̬̹̯̮̬̻̬̮̺͝ĩ̷̫̳͈̫͚̠̩̀̆̀̾͂͝ͅs̵̡̢̢̢̛̲̯͖̱̪̠̳̘̮̱̺͓͉̗̱͈̤͔̔̋̆̋́̋͆̀̎̍̌̀͆̎̑́̊̎̆͘̕͜͝ͅs̴̡͚̮͉̯̬̘̬̪̀͛̋̀̇̍̏ḯ̵̢̢̧͎͍̠͔̟̘̪͉͌̾̿̾̈̀̍̇̕͘͜͜͝n̵̛̫͔̥͕̟̼̲̦̠͍̘̼̭͕̬̗̥̖̉̌̄̒̀͂́͆̿̓͒͆͛̄̕͜͠͝g̷̨̢̬̔̇͐̊̔̒̎͒͌̎̀͊̋̕̚͜͝͝͠͝N̷̡̧̡͔͚̞͎̲̳͙̰̱̟̠̻̞̺̗̥̾̒͑̍̉̃̅̍̓̽̄͋̿̍̄͝ơ̶̢̢̦̪̥͍͈̜̠̙̺̦̮̳͓̪͍͎̖̲̑̽̅͗̓̍̈͆̀͋͂͐͒̈̆̂̓̕͘͜͜͠ --we don't ask

oh, that's... well it's fortUnate they coUldn't catch yoU at least! >u<; no worries i get that a lot! ... i may have wrote a lot so i'll go ahead an readmore this.
Uh, so. way back in the day, fUrther back than even when the knowlege of who lord english trUely was or what a cherUb is was widely known, a lot of alternates of oUrs were still taking Up the sUrname english. an occasion forced the hand of my brother and i to select one as well, and the person we felt most attached to to even consider selecting their name as oUrs was oUr timeline's dirk strider. thoUgh, on that note, oUr timeline also had a living lil' cal who called himself oUr grandpUppet, and wasn't the only one to do so weirdly enoUgh. so, even thoUgh we did have a papa miracles (who we did not know the name of Until mUch later in oUr lives, thUs, never thoUght to Use the name makara) strider jUst felt correct. it's been oUr name ever since ^u^ Unless bro went and got married or something. idk, i haven't been in contact with him for over half a decade at this point. as for a very qUick sUmmery of myself, i'm a troll, have been one since my original game when my brother and i god-tiered. oUr alpha kid's session was postponed by three years dUe to the stUbborness of one of the players, and the argUment i had with her had me going to sleep earlier than i was meant to, thUs catching my woUld be assassin in the act and sUrviving to eventUally play the game and ascend. most of oUr timeline is UnfortUnately dead at this point, lots of long stories bUt also jUst. it's been 11 and a half years since this blog's creation. not a lot of folks stick aroUnd that long. at some point we entered a second game to help someone who had already killed her second player, and that game never finished, so that's where my hive is still located. thoUgh it's been a hot minUte since i lived there fUll time. if i ever reference candyland it's the land of tricks and frogs. generally i'm actUally on a timeline fUll of pokemon we were gifted access to years and years ago, thoUgh i haven't been there since may. and sometimes i'm on serket's timeline, like right now :U she's a dear friend. and wrapping Up to the post that started this, my dead best friend is half bird, or was half bird, so i don't eat poUltry. which is why i was asking in the first place aboUt the dinosaUr thing. i was also tricked into eating torchic meat once and it really does jUst make me a little sick to think aboUt u_u; hoo boy that's. that's barely scratching the sUrface. bUt i think i covered prominent points. i really need to figUre oUt how to sUm this all Up faster. on that note, feel free to tell me anything aboUt yoUrself yoU'd like to share! i apologize for the rambling.
@empiricalsagipia
I do not think so.
yeah, i don't think it does either. alright, i am coUnting all those likes as agreement as well. >:U also hello, dear! i don't believe we've met.

I know I'm super late for the character ask, but if you're still accepting them, Blitzo
My otp for them:  Stolas. I was on the fence about it because Blitzo seemed thoroughly uninterested, but...I think he seriously has personal issues that make him believe he's unworthy of anyone's love, and any relationship is iffy for him NOW, but oh gosh does Stolas ever treat him wonderfully and they DO have a chemistry that radiates off the screen for me even if it's not quite healthy yet. Also the height difference.
My brotp for them:  Loona. Good dork dad and his daughter.
Any other ships:  @sugar-fueled-gremlin and @sweaterblitz managed to make me hyped up for Blitzo/Betelgeuse. The crossover that is...quite literally from Hell and I love it
My favorite nickname for them:  Love when Stolas calls him "Blitzy"
Their role in TBTC, the only AU I have:  Haven't debuted him yet, and here's what I'm thinking. Two possibilities for how he shows up. One is that we're going to be recruiting some people directly from Hell in chapters to come (literally Verosika and Striker are WHAM ARMY material, I want Nevan and Arkham from DMC3, and also a witch from a book I read as a kid whose soul was claimed by the Devil in a way I think requires more than a simple resurrection), so I could just have I.M.P. do silly cameos every time we need to go jailbreak someone from Hell. But another thing that's kinda on my mind - I know that one of my favorite broTPs I haven't gotten to unleash is the double date of Milxie and Nergal/Sis from Billy and Mandy, and I want the four of them to have a little adventure together in some regard. Not sure what they'll be doing yet, but Blitzo would have to be somewhere in the background of that. I would ideally like to do both but I have to see what flows naturally (as in: why would members of a cheap assassin's guild be hanging around Hell's high-security prisons, and WHAT ARE NERGAL, SIS, AND M&M AFTER IN THE FIRST PLACE)
My favorite outfit they wear:  So the real answer is his normal one because that coat
Tumblr media
But you know me. I do love when male characters say "fuck gender roles" and he looks FANTASTIC:
Tumblr media
Defining color:  Red
Would I date them:  OH GOD NO. Too much sex required and also he can be a bit of an asshole.
First impression:  I thought he was really humorous, but I was more distracted by Moxxie.
Current impression:  I still mostly watch this show for Milxie and the villains, but Blitzo is very entertaining, and I love the facet of his humor that specifically relates to him being a hyperactive, chaotic man-child ("GAMES? I HEARD 'GAMES'").
Hogwarts House:  This is a Gryffindor off the shits
Which Pokemon starter they’d be: I think he's a Torchic kind of guy (but would be happier if there were a canine or equine Fire starter)

In which another expedition begins
Tumblr media
First [ARC 1]: In which the human is transformed First [ARC 2]: In which a present is prepared Next: In which the god of antimatter is met Previous: In which preparations are made
“So, you’re all heading out now?” Gardevoir asked, leaning her back against the door frame of the base.
Nelvana nodded, “yeah, no sense in waiting any longer than we already have. We had breakfast, we had a good night’s sleep, and we’re all packed item-wise.”
“Ah, alright,” Gardevoir sighed with a small smile. “Sorry, I’m just a bit worried. That’s natural though. I’m sure that you all will be fine.”
“I… Yeah, we will,” Nelvana replied after a moment’s hesitance, “how’s your telepathy? Do you think you’ll be able to talk to us at the end of the day at least?”
    “We’ll see…” Gardevoir murmured, “I hope so.”
    “Me too.”
Scrambling back down the path over to the other two, Keahi skidded to a stop next to zir partner. Zie shook out zir feathers, and then looked between the two with a broad grin.
“Getting in some goodbyes?” zie asked, receiving nods in response. “Cool! I think we’re just about ready, so everyone else will come up to say goodbye to you too, Gardevoir.”
“Alright, that’s good. I wouldn’t want to have you all go without any goodbyes,” Gardevoir chuckled, “how long do you think you’ll be gone, by the way?”
“Depends on how well everything goes, but I did double-check the maps, and with any luck we’ll be back here at the base after a little over a week or so!” Keahi chirped.
“I’m glad to hear that,” Gardevoir hummed, “I do hope you’ll be back soon and that everything goes well.”
“Thank you! And we all hope that things stay good back here too!” Keahi replied, “can I get a hug before we go?” zie requested, spreading out zir wings.
    Gardevoir giggled, “of course!”
Bending down, Gardevoir reached her arms around the torchic to give zim a hug. They didn’t linger like that for too long, Keahi clearly too excited to be restrained for too long, but regardless, they enjoyed the embrace. Nelvana silently opened her arms up next, and Gardevoir hugged her as well. They stayed like that for a bit longer, and by the time they let go, the rest of the group had wandered back over to the base to give their farewells to their friend who would be staying behind.
“Aw, do I get hugs too?” Ceebee asked, faking a whine in her voice. “I’ll be splitting off from the rest of you for a few days too!”
Keahi laughed, “if you want hugs!”
“Of course, I want hugs!” Ceebee gasped, and then laughed as well before going around to hugging her friends.
As with goodbyes always were, especially surrounding large groups such as this, it took several minutes before everyone got through all their hugs and said what they wanted to say to those they would be departing for an unknown amount of time. Eventually though, there was nothing more that needed their attention here, and they realized they would have to depart.
“Well, before I get too sappy, I should head off,” Ceebee sighed, “I’ve got all my items and this map to get to Murky Cave, so I should be good to go,” she said, “well, alright then! I’ll see you all later, some sooner than later! I’ll let the judge know you say hi!”
“If you get the chance, could you check in with Mienshao too?” Damien requested.
Nelvana nodded in agreement, “maybe see how they… handled Ninetales too.”
“I’ll see what I can do! No promises though, we are in a hurry!” Ceebee told them, “I guess I’ll be off then! See you all!”
Not wanting to wait and then be dragged down in some sort of delay, Ceebee gave one final wave to her friends before taking off to the sky. She simply swirled upwards into the air at first, before doing one final flip and then flying off eastwards.
    Alex snorted, “always a show-off…”
“I suppose we should head off as well,” Tsuki said, “we would not want to fall behind any sort of progress.”
“Of course,” Dusknoir agreed, “let’s get going then.”
“Whoohoo!” Edgar cheered, doing his own flip in the air. “My first expedition! I’m so excited!”
Keahi giggled, “yeah! I’ve never gone this far up north before, so this will be a new experience for all of us! In a way.”
“Good luck, again, to you all!” Gardevoir hummed, beginning to wave at the remaining group.
“Goodbye Gardevoir! We’ll see you later,” Nelvana responded.
Tsuki stepped up beside Nelvana, closer to Gardevoir. She seemed to want to say one final thing as well, but swallowed her words back down as well, simply smiling at her friend.
With that, the group of seven set out on the path heading west. There was no direct path out north right away, so they would have to start west before taking the turn out to where they actually needed to go. There was, of course, always the possibility as well that the path wouldn’t last the entire way there, but for the beginning it seemed safer to stick to the dirt road ahead of them.
Nelvana and Keahi naturally took the lead, though Tsuki and Alex were never far behind. Every so often Tsuki would sniff ahead of the group, but would then fall back again to let the two team leaders take the lead. The three ghost-types made up the rear of their clunky lineup, though Edgar would hover around everyone, sometimes also hurrying off ahead, and other times even going off path and weaving through the trees before rounding back to everyone else.
In general, they all managed to make their hike fairly swiftly. Damien had been getting more used to traveling for long distances, so he did not request frequent breaks like he had at first when he and Nelvana had been traveling to Murky Cave themselves. Everyone else was used enough to staying active that they were able to keep pace.
After a few hours, the path became completely shrouded by piles of multicolored leaves coating the earth. Many trees above them were already bare, though the majority of them still managed to display the artwork between their remaining leaves.
“Wow, I don’t usually get out by leafy trees like these in the autumn to really see this,” Keahi murmured in awe, purposely kicking leaves up around zim as zie walked. “It’s really pretty out here, isn’t it?”
“Yeah…” Nelvana gasped, unable to tear her gaze away from the leaves. “Do… Do the leaves do this every autumn? How come?” she asked, crouching down to scoop up a small handful of leaves without pausing as she walked.
“Oh, yeah they do! They lose all their leaves or else it’d be too heavy with the snow that comes in the winter,” Keahi explained, “I… I had almost forgotten that you hadn’t seen this before, I’ll be honest.”
“I must admit that I have not either. The Frosty Forest remained in winter all year round. This will be my first proper autumn as well,” Tsuki commented.
“Me neither! There weren’t any trees at all up at Sky Tower!” Edgar added.
“Really?” Keahi gasped, “have none of you really had an autumn before?”
“I have, don’t worry,” Damien answered, raising his hand from the back of the group.
“That’s still only two out of… out of seven of us here! Wow!” Keahi exclaimed, “you all have been missing out! Summer is still my favorite season, but autumn is probably the prettiest. I bet you’ll like winter and spring too though! When there’s a new coat of snow on the ground, everything sparkles! And while spring starts out being yucky, it’s really nice when all the flowers start growing again!”
“Mm… I look forward to all of it,” Nelvana hummed, dropping the leaves she had picked up and watching as they scattered behind her as she walked away.
“I’m so glad that we actually get to see all this,” Alex agreed with an exhale, some of his stiffness going away with his breath.
“What about you, Dusknoir?” Edgar asked, looping back around to the pokemon in question. “Don’t you think this is nice?”
Dusknoir looked away from Edgar, “it… it is nice, I suppose.”
Alex scoffed, though said nothing to Dusknoir’s lackluster answer. He wasn’t about to waste his breath in a pointless argument about the such when he could just enjoy what he had here right now.
Keahi continued kicking up the leaves as zie walked, and soon Nelvana couldn’t help but mimic the action. She shuffled her feet through the warm colored mixture, reveling in the noise of the cracking.
“They’re crunchy,” Nelvana commented quietly, swishing her tail behind her now as well.
“Mhmm! It’s because they aren’t connected to the rest of the tree anymore!” Keahi told her cheerfully, “you know, sometimes when my family would go out to where enough leaves fall, we would make leaf piles and then jump in! Most of the leaves should have fallen by the time we get back, so maybe we could do that once all this is over!” zie suggested.
“I’d like to try that,” Nelvana replied.
Damien smiled as well, “oh yeah, leaf piles are tons of fun. The raking isn’t, but it is worth it.”
Curious about the other two kicking around the leaves, Alex relented and decided to give it a go instead. Taking a few quick steps ahead, he kicked up a bunch of leaves, which all flew back at him, some landing on himself. Keahi burst out laughing first, and it wasn’t long before most of the group joined in. Most of the group.
Dusknoir narrowed his eye, “you all should quit messing around. We shouldn’t be wasting time playing around like a bunch of children. If case you have forgotten, we could be being pursued.”
Nelvana stiffened at Dusknoir’s tone, gripping her club close to herself and shifting to walk without kicking up the leaves as much as possible for now. Alex narrowed his eyes back in return, brushing the leaves out of his face before turning back to Dusknoir.
“Oh, buzz off Dusknoir. Just because you aren’t happy that we aren’t stuck in hell doesn’t mean you get to ruin others’ enjoyment of an actually good life,” Alex hissed, “this isn’t slowing down our travel time any, I would know about that more than most. So just shut up.”
Dusknoir’s eye narrowed more, and his hands clenched into fists, though Edgar floated in front of him before he could speak back in retaliation.
“Hey! Come on, we shouldn’t be arguing about something like this!” Edgar insisted.
“There’s no harm done by kicking up some leaves, so leave it be,” Tsuki added, shaking her head down at the ground which she refused to look at from.
“Leaf it be?” Nelvana joked under her breath, lacking enough courage to speak any louder in this moment.
Despite how quiet Nelvana was as she spoke, Keahi did still pick up the pun, and chuckled softly in return, patting zir friend’s back with a wing. Dusknoir scoffed, but didn’t push his point any further despite no longer having any interruptions.
Even as they continued walking silently through the forest, something began to boil and burn within Nelvana. Frustration surged against Dusknoir, against him and how he tried to act like the responsible one despite what he’s done. She wanted to do or say something, to get him to back down and stop bothering her and her friends, but she feared him more than she hated him.
Somehow, despite this, she managed to reach down with shaky hands to collect a large handful of leaves as she walked, having to pause this time to hold such a pile in just her left hand. Every fibre of her being felt tense.
Spinning around suddenly to face the rest of the party behind her, she tossed the handful of leaves into the air, switching her grip to hold her club with both hands afterwards just in time to hit the bunch of foliage with her weapon, spreading them directly at Dusknoir. He flinched back from this, reacting to the simple leaves as if she had thrown dozens of blast seeds at him instead, and many of the others stepped aside from surprise.
Still burning inside, mind whirling, Nelvana wanted to say something, but no words came out of her open mouth. Breathing heavily, she continued glaring at Dusknoir instead, whose eye was still wide in shock and confusion at her sudden outburst.
Finally, her fear bubbled up again to drown her anger, and she turned back around and fled further up the path, kicking several leaves up behind her in her retreat.
“Nel! Wait!” Keahi cried out after her, immediately going to hurry after zir partner.
Alex hesitated for a moment, letting out a low hiss under his breath and sparing a sharp look back at the others, before bolting after the other two, dropping to all fours to pick up more speed.
“Er… well, you did say you wanted us to hurry,” Damien quipped at Dusknoir, holding more bitterness to his tone than intended.
With that, while he did not run, the gengar picked up his pace to pull ahead of the others and continue down the path to where the other three had disappeared into the thicket. Tsuki nodded along to Damien’s words, before exhaling with a growl.
“We don’t want to fall behind,” she stated, before picking up her pace as well to follow the rest of the group.
As they continued, Edgar positioned himself in front of Dusknoir, purposefully keeping his own pace slow enough to fall far enough behind Tsuki so that she and the others would be out of earshot. Still confused by all that just happened, and mildly planning to give everyone else a head start, Dusknoir didn’t notice what the duskull was up to right away, but by the time Tsuki’s white fur had fully disappeared, he began looking to get around Edgar and hurry along.
“What do you want, Dusknoir?” Edgar asked quietly, continuing to subtlety angle himself to block Dusknoir’s path.
Dusknoir narrowed his eye at him, “what do you mean?”
“What do you want here, now that you’re in this timeline,” Edgar clarified, “you mentioned wanting to serve Dialga again after this, so is that it? You just want to follow them again?”
“Of course. I am nothing if not loyal, and Dialga did bring me back here. I can only assume it would be to further my services,” Dusknoir answered.
Edgar hummed, pausing for a bit before continuing, “that sounds boring. Do you not want to do anything else with your life?”
“You don’t understand,” Dusknoir sighed, “Dialga has given everything to me. Why do you ask so much about it anyhow?”
“Because!” Edgar twisted himself in the air as he floated. “Because… there’s more to life than that,” he said, finally settling on his own answer after much thought.
Dusknoir shook his head, crossing his arms behind his back as they continued. With both of them floating and the rest of the group much farther ahead by now, none of the leaves crunched around them. Without that noise, the woods felt strangely silent.
“Do you ever want them to like you? Or any of us, really,” Edgar asked, “because it gets harder for us to like you when you hurt our friends,” he added.
“Why do you ask all these questions?” Dusknoir snapped, but then sighed and regained his composure. “No, I don’t care what any of you think of me. After this mission, we should be parting ways anyhow, so that does not matter.”
Edgar’s eye darkened, “do you… really understand what you’ve done? Why they don’t like you?” He drifted downwards momentary before floating up again, as if gravity had become stronger for him in that moment. “That night you first showed up, I don’t think any of us had ever seen Alex so angry, or Nel so scared. You bring out the worst of them. Every time Kangaskhan calls Tsuki her child, I think Alex wishes he could hear his mom say that one more time. Nel has amnesia, and she still has nightmares about you, even before you showed up here. You will always haunt them, and you dare say that it doesn’t matter?” he seethed.
Dusknoir paused for a few moments, stiffening at Edgar’s darker tone. Even haven only been around the duskull for less than a week, he knew this was unusual for him to say such things like this. Regardless, Dusknoir did not falter.
“Why do you tell me all these things? It won’t change anything,” Dusknoir questioned.
“I think it will. Because I think you do care, even if you say you don’t. I think you like this timeline, but you’re scared to admit it because that means the things you did were wrong,” Edgar answered, “and if you ever did want to make things better, you need to admit that to yourself.”
“You’re naïve,” Dusknoir told him, “you are still young, you don’t understand what’s going on.”
“Maybe! Maybe that’s true,” Edgar replied, returning to his usually cheery voice, which sounded hollow as Dusknoir looked into black sockets of the skull Edgar had as a face. “Maybe it is naïve for me to think that. Not many people see the sins of someone every time they look at each other and still dares to say that they can become better. But let me tell you something, Dusknoir, I’m not as naïve as I used to be. I’ve learned a lot, and a lot of that credit goes to what I’ve been shown in my time with Team Galaxy. They’re good people, and if you dare say that you don’t care that you’ve scarred them deeper than physically…” He trailed off, his voice growing softly strained; he wanted to cry. “Dusknoir? How many of your scars are actually from Nel or Alex? Because I only have this one, and it’s from the time I used to live under a legendary.”
Bursting out from the forestry ahead, Tsuki padded up to the conversing pair just as Edgar finished his final response. She appeared oddly rushed, with her widened eyes and the obvious rush she had been to get back to the two others. Though after a few seconds of looking them both over, any previous nervousness was blinked back into her usual tension from being around Dusknoir; sensing his past disasters like Edgar did. Breathing out a relieved sigh, she spoke up.
“We were getting worried about you when you fell behind,” Tsuki told them, “come on, the others are up ahead.”
Almost as if relieved to be released from the conversation he started, Edgar nodded eagerly, the light returning to his eye as he hurried ahead of Tsuki to catch up to the rest of his friends. Dusknoir followed wordlessly, keeping his slower pace from before as he stared down at the natural canvas of color around all of them.
Many hours later in that day, the group settled down to set up their camp for the night. Eventually the earlier tension left most of the party, allowing them to enjoy the rest of the day.
“Alright, I can go get some firewood, does someone want to come with me? Buddy system?” Damien suggested, standing up from the small circle of rocks he had made up while most of the others had been discussing between themselves.
“A fire?” Alex repeated, swiftly looking up at Damien as he spoke.
“Er, yeah? For warmth and light in the night,” Damien responded, “it’s… nice.”
“But we…” Alex trailed off, before his shoulder sagged as he looked back down at the small firepit. “Nevermind, go ahead,” he muttered under his breath, relenting to Damien’s wishes.
“But what? Is there something wrong with a campfire?” Damien questioned, glancing over to Nelvana for clarification.
“But we’re being tracked,” Dusknoir finished for the grovyle, “light in the darkness can attract unwanted attention,” he added.
“The Lake Guardians shouldn’t be anywhere near us right now, it’s fine,” Alex groaned, sitting up again from his slouch. “Go ahead and get the firewood, forget I said anything.”
Damien paused, but then nodded, “okay, if you’re sure then…”
“I’ll go with you,” Tsuki volunteered, standing up from where she had been laying down and padding over to the gengar.
With that, the pair headed off into the already growing shadows of the forest, leaves and the rare branch cracking under their feet.
Nelvana picked at the grass beside her, “I wonder how Ceebee is doing. And everyone back at the base,” she murmured.
“Has Gardevoir gotten in touch with you yet, or are we too far already?” Keahi asked, sitting down beside the cubone, who mimicked the torchic’s action and sat down as well.
“No, I haven’t heard from her… Maybe that’ll change in a dream?” Nelvana said, then chuckled. “We’ve come full circle; me waiting to hear from her in a dream.”
Keahi giggled, “guess some things will never change,” zie replied, “say, I forget, was Ceebee supposed to contact us tonight, or will she be silent during her trip to Murky Cave?”
“We agreed that she’ll send us something through telepathy to let us know she’s alright,” Alex answered, “though, depending on how far she goes, that may be short since she may get tired.”
“I miss them all already…” Edgar sighed, “but this has been really neat so far! Will this be forest all the way there, or will it open up a bit?”
“We should pass through some valleys, and maybe actually up on some mountains eventually!” Keahi told him, “this is going to be quite the expedition.”
“Ooh, that sounds really cool! I can’t wait!” Edgar cheered.
Dusknoir silently observed. His gaze drifted, but more often than not lingered on Edgar. While he wouldn’t want to admit it, he hadn’t really been able to stop thinking about that strange conversation from earlier.
While he wouldn’t want to admit it, the answer to Edgar’s last question had been only half.
First [ARC 1]: In which the human is transformed First [ARC 2]: In which a present is prepared Next: In which the god of antimatter is met Previous: In which preparations are made

Faceless: a Pokémon creepypasta
It had been 3 weeks since Brendan had dissapeared, Prof. Birch wouldn't give up his search for Brendan, May was helping too. "Go Torchic! Help us find Brendan!" May said "Lotad! you help too!" Birch said. Birch and May and their Pokémon went searching in the woods, the last place Brendan was seen. "Brendan! Are you there?" Birch yelled. Birch would never give up looking for his son, even if he turned up dead. Night came and Birch and May quit searching for the night, the next morning Prof. Birch went outside to see May's mother crying and holding May's bandana. "Oh my! What's wrong? Where's May?" Birch asked. Through sobs May's mother replied "May dissapeared this morning, I thought she went outside but when I went looking for her all I found was her bandana." She said. Birch tried to comfort her but she just ran back to her house. Birch went back into the woods to look for Brendan and now May, instead he came across something he wasn't expecting. Birch wandered throughout the woods until he abruptly stopped. There, he saw a rustling bush and he heard what sounded like muffled wimpering. He carefully approached the bush "Hello? May? Brendan? Is that you?" The bush started rustling more now, until a little tan Pokémon crawled out and fell on its face. "Huh? It's a Meowth!" He exclaimed. This was already strange since Meowth didn't normally live in the Hoenn region, he ran over to it and picked it up. What he saw next was horrifying, the Meowth didn't have a face.
Tumblr media
Birch gasped. The face of the Meowth looked like it had been stitched on then had the stitches removed as the face grew on, it also had patches of its flesh removed on it's back. Birch was terrified but wanted to help the poor creature, so he took it back to his lab. When he arrived back at his lab he examined the disturbing creature, the Meowth didn't move much, it sat all slumped over like a stuffed toy. "Could whoever did this to you taken Brendan and May?" Birch thought outloud. The Meowth slowly raised its head to look up at Birch, it started to wimper. Birch was getting creeped out and put the Meowth in a kennel, Birch decided to get some sleep and maybe find out who did this to the Meowth and took May and Brendan. Late that night Birch woke up to a crashing sound and muffled screaming that sounded like Brendan, Birch freaked out and ran downstairs.
He saw that the Meowth had broken out of its kennel and was clawing at its face, bits of flesh getting stuck on its claws, The gory Meowth looked at Birch. Birch screamed at the horrific sight, the Meowth's face was torn off, flesh and blood was everywhere and the Meowth's face was Brendan's. Birch tried to run away but the door was gone, he looked back at the horrifying creature, the mutilated Meowth screamed and jumped at Birch and started clawing at his face. Birch woke up crying "o-oh god it-it was just a dream." He decided to go and check on the Meowth, when he went into the hallway he gasped when he saw the Meowth standing at Brendan's bedroom door. "W-what are you doing there? How did you get out of your kennel?" Birch said confusedly. The Meowth looked at him and then bolted past Birch "HEY! GET BACK HERE!" Birch yelled. The Meowth ran into the woods with Birch following behind, the Meowth ran into the dark parts of the woods.
They kept running until the Meowth abruptly stopped, "huff... huff....why did you run away like that?" Said Birch. The Meowth slowly raised its had and pointed at a bush, Birch walked over to the bush and felt around for anything inside, when he finally found something that felt like a human leg. When Birch pulled the thing out of the bush his heart stopped. "BRENDAN!!"
Now Brendan is home again, the faceless Meowth still living with Birch. Birch is always acting scared around them and rarely leaves his house now. Also Brendan doesn't talk very much anymore. infact, he can't...he doesn't have a face.
Hi! This was my first creepypasta and I hope you guys liked it! :3

summary: There’s a chick in Dan’s kitchen. word count: 1215 rating: g warnings: none a/n: Written for the @phandomficfests DanAndPhilGAMES flash fest, inspired by Can Your Pet.
ao3 link
There’s a chick in his kitchen.
There’s an actual, honest to god, chick in Dan’s bloody kitchen.
And his boyfriend’s leaning over it, as though it’s a perfectly normal occurrence for their to be a bird standing on their kitchen counter. A dumb bird, too, because it just about walks off the edge, and Phil lets out a huff as he picks it up and sets it back down in the middle of the island, only for it to start walking towards the edge.
“Where the fuck did you get that?”
Phil looks up, eyes wide. The bird almost walks off the counter again before Phil remembers it’s there and scoops it into his hands.
“Uh, someone was giving it away,” he says. “On the street. I didn’t want a bad person to take it.”
Dan pinches the bridge of his nose. “So you just took a chick?”
“Yup,” says Phil. “Probably not my best choice.”
“Probably? What the fuck are we supposed to do with a chick?” He glances at it, its little yellow head poking out from between Phil’s hands. “What about when it turns into a grown up chicken?”
“I didn’t think of that at first,” says Phil. He’s petting the chickens head now. “But I did some research–”
“Oh no.”
“–and I think we should buy a coop.”
Dan sighs, and pinches his nose even harder because he’s probably going to end up with a headache.
And, maybe, a pet chicken.
---
Phil puts the chick in a baking dish so it stops trying to fall to its death.
And watching it walk around, pecking at the bird seed Phil brought in from outside, Dan can admit that perhaps it is rather cute. Maybe he can understand why Phil took it from whoever was giving it away on the street. It’s been five minutes and already Dan can’t imagine risking it going to a meat farm.
He shudders at the thought, reaching out to run his finger over the soft fluff on the chick’s head.
“I knew you’d like him!” says Phil.
He’s standing in the doorway with an old amazon box, which is apparently what the internet said to put the chick in until they can get it a more suitable habitat. His smile looks so happy, Dan can hardly force himself to fake a frown.
“We are not chicken people,” he says.
Phil shrugs. “We could be chicken people.”
He sets the box on the ground, and goes to get old blankets to make the chick comfortable.
---
They can be chicken people, it seems.
There’s a little bowl of food on the floor, and another little bowl of water, and the little chick is walking around the enclosure they’ve made out of books in the lounge. It pecks the food and water, and then walks over to them, head bobbing, its little eyes unfocused.
Dan wonders if it’s happy.
They went out and got it a last minute heating lamp, and a little guinea pig cage, and more food.
For right now, Phil scoops it into his hand and pets its little head.
“We should name it,” he says.
“That would form an emotional attachment,” says Dan.
Phil glances at him. He holds the chick up to his cheek, close and cuddly, and offers a smile that has Dan’s heart flipping over his chest.
God dammit.
“Are you trying to tell me you’re not already emotionally attached?”
He is. Of course he fucking is.
They’re going to end up with a chicken.
“Fine,” he says. “We can name it.”
---
“Tweety?” says Phil.
Dan frowns. “I’m not naming our chick after one we murdered in a video game.”
It’s stupid, but the chick is asleep in it’s little habitat now, under the warmth of its heating lamp, and Dan’s chest aches at the thought of what happened in that game. It makes him want to scoop it up in his hands and keep it safe.
He needs sleep, probably.
“Good point,” says Phil. “Um, what about Arthur?”
“Arthur was an aardvark. And a weird fucking show. Our chick isn’t weird.”
Phil’s staring at him, gaze soft, fond. “You’re very paternal with our chick,” he says. “I like it.”
Dan feels himself flush. He wants to reach over and cradle the chick again, as though it’ll comfort him.
“I have a name for it, I think,” he says.
“Go ahead.”
He reaches over, and runs his finger over the bird’s fluff again. “What about Torchic?”
Phil’s smile cracks, wide and happy, across his face. “That’s perfect!”
Dan can’t help but smile, too. He pets the chick one more time, and whispers into the quiet of their lounge: “Sweet dreams, Torchic.”
---
They do a lot of research in bed that night, huddled around Dan’s laptop.
There’s web pages about how to take of a chick, and then a full grown chicken, because it’s only been a few hours and already Dan can’t imagine handing Torchic away to a stranger. Phil, he knows, can’t either. He probably couldn’t from the moment he took Torchic from a random person and brought him back to their house.
Suddenly, Dan’s very glad they were adamant about getting a garden when they bought their house.
For a dog, had been the plan. And now, for a chicken, too.
They do research on coops, too. Dan finds a cute one that’s grey with a little red door that they bookmark but don’t buy, not until they can make sure it’s safe for Torchic.
“Tomorrow,” Phil whispers again Dan’s shoulder. They’re half asleep by then, the clock on Dan’s laptop telling him it’s far too late to still be awake.
Torchic must agree, since she’s been asleep for a long while.
“Tomorrow,” Dan agrees.
He closes his laptop, setting it down on the bedside table. Phil’s still pressed against his side, and his head rests on Dan’s shoulder when they both lay down to sleep.
Dan stares hazily at the door, towards where they set up Torchic’s habitat, until his eyes drift shut.
---
He wakes up early in the morning to Torchic chirping in the hallway.
Phil’s still asleep, draped across Dan’s side. He has to be careful when crawling out of bed, trying not to wake Phil up. He slips out of the bedroom, into the hallway, where Torchic’s cage is pressed up against the wall.
She’s eaten some of her food and had a poo since last night, and looks up at him when he walks over.
Dan smiles. “Hello,” he says, high pitched and happy sounding, even to his own ears. “Did you sleep well?”
Torchic chirps.
Behind Dan, the bedroom door opens, and closes. Phil, stumbly and grumbly and still half-asleep sounding, walks over and wraps his arms around Dan’s waist.
“You’re a chicken dad,” he says, giggling against Dan’s shoulder.
“Shut up,” says Dan. He leans back, though, because it’s early and he’s sleepy, softer around the edges than he will be after a coffee and breakfast.
And because he’s happy.
His hand drifts down so he can grip at Phil’s wrist, holding him in place. “We’re chicken dads,” he says.
It’s a little too sappy, but Phil drops a kiss to his shoulder and Dan’s chest goes warm.
On the floor, Torchic chirps again.

Absolutely Disastrous Ch 7
Sorry for the late chapter guys! I’ve gotten a new job recently and a class on top of that!
Ch 7: The Classy Skitty Man! A Different Kind of Challenge!
“Wait, you can’t leave town! There’s some rare footprints I need to sketch!” a harried-looking artist pushed them away from his sketching grounds. “The nerve of some people! Can’t they recognize the potential discovery of a Regice’s footprints?”
Melissa ignored him, ripping off the yellow tape that blocked the route to Petalburg City.
The artist pushed up his glasses indignantly, the lenses flashing white. “Little girl,” he hissed dangerously. “You’ve disrespected the sanctity of Pokémon footprints. They’re a testament to the bond between trainer and Pokémon, and I will not stand for your mockery!”
He held up a Poké Ball.
Diogee scuffed the ground with his paw, but Milo held him back by the collar. “Wait a little more before battling, okay? We just got you healed from your fight with Shroomish and Minun.”
Diogee sat down with a small huff.
“Don’t worry. I’ve got this,” Melissa said, taking a battle stance. “Torchic, let’s boom!”
She pitched the Poké Ball like a baseball, only for the device to fall to the ground a foot away.
Picking it up sheepishly, she threw it again. The ball slammed into the ground six inches in front of her.
Melissa groaned. “Oh, come on!”
The artist crossed his arms. “Delaying your inevitable defeat is a terrible course of action.”
“You think I’m doing this on purpose?”
“-and when I was nine, I was kidnapped by a pack of Smeargle and covered in their painted footprints during a ritual to provide their paintbrush god with an earthly vessel so he could share the knowledge of art and footprints to lowly mortals,” the artist explained.
Zack almost choked on his soda. “Wow, that’s…really interesting.”
“What’s the name of the paintbrush god?” Milo asked.
The artist tapped his chin in thought. “Well, I guess the closest thing in English would be ‘Raphaelmichaelangeloleonardodonatello’.”
“Torchic, let’s boom!” Melissa shouted, finally managing three feet with her Poké Ball toss.
Torchic opened her beak, releasing several embers to pump herself up.
“Okay, we’re ready now!” Melissa exclaimed. She turned towards the boys, frowning when she saw they’d laid out the entire picnic spread while she was struggling to throw her Poké Ball. “It’s a little early for lunch.”
Milo shrugged. “Artie here doesn’t battle well on an empty stomach. And don’t worry, we’ll save you a sandwich.”
“An artist named Artie?” Melissa returned Artie’s glare coolly. “Who knew?”
“First you mock the sanctity of footprints, now you make fun of my name!” Artie growled, rushing into a battle position. “Prepare for your inevitable-“
Melissa rolled her eyes. “Less declarations of hatred, more battling please.”
Artie released a Pokémon with a cute beret perched on its head. Blue paint oozed from a paw marking on its back and tail tip. It stuck its tongue out adorably as Milo checked its dex entry.
“Smeargle, the Painter Pokémon. In a thousand years, human society will collapse and the Great Smeargle Era will begin. Turf wars will become the dominant competitive sport.”
“Paint the field, Smeargle!” Artie commanded.
Smeargle spun in place, flinging blue paint all over the grassy terrain. Torchic ducked her head, jumping back when a splash of paint hit her wings. Realizing that Artie and Smeargle didn’t seem to care where the substance touched, Milo threw on a paintproof poncho, which was large enough to cover Zack as well. As Melissa ordered a Peck attack, Milo helped Diogee into an Absol-sized poncho.
Torchic rushed towards Smeargle, her beak glowing brightly as it elongated into a white, sharpened point.
“Dodge and use Sketch!” Artie yelled.
Smeargle waved its tail as it darted to the side, conjuring a pencil that floated over to Torchic. Startled by the writing utensil, Torchic’s concentration slipped and she lost her balance, stumbling face-first into the paint. The pencil circled Torchic as she recovered from her fall, leaving a trail of pink sparkles behind. The Painter Pokémon touched the pencil, allowing it to flicker out of existence.
“Torchic, watch out!” Melissa shouted as Smeargle charged with its tail extended into a sharp paint-covered point. But Torchic was too busy shaking the paint off her body, not paying attention to the battle at hand. Smeargle jabbed Torchic with the point, and the Chick Pokémon skidded back several feet against the paint-covered ground.
“Keep at it, Smeargle!” Artie crowed.
This time, Torchic was ready and countered with her own Peck. The two Pokémon parried, jabbed, and blocked each other, avoiding strikes as they tried to dish out their own attacks. Melissa and Artie tried to give more instructions, but Torchic and Smeargle were too engrossed in their beak-to-tail swordfight to listen.
“This is really cool!” Milo exclaimed. “I haven’t seen a swordfight this good since the Gallade Kingdom arc of Dr. Magnezone!”
“Who’s cleaning all this paint up exactly?” Zack asked worriedly, glancing over his shoulder as if expecting a mob of senior citizens to hurl dentures at them for making a mess of their pristine town.
Torchic and Smeargle broke apart to catch their breath. Blue splotches of paint covered their bodies.
Melissa tensed, her eyes flickering over the field as she thought of her next move. Then she smiled triumphantly.
Milo knew that look.
She always smiled like that when she was about to do something sneaky.
“Paint attack!” Melissa yelled.
Torchic used her feet to fling a glob of paint at Smeargle’s eyes, and the Painter Pokémon stumbled back in shock. It rubbed its face to get rid of the paint, but only succeeded in smearing it all over the place.
“Hey, no fair!” Artie protested, glaring at Melissa. “Get a grip, Smeargle!”
“You brought it into the field and gave me access to a good weapon,” Melissa smirked. “It’s totally fair. Now, let’s finish this off with Ember!”
Milo, Zack, and Diogee shot up in alarm. “Melissa, no!” Zack yelled. “The paint might be-“
BOOM!
“-combustible.”
And that was how Oldale Town set the world record for fastest evacuation in the event of wildfire.
“-arson, graffiti, endangerment, public nuisance, vandalism, waking me up from my afternoon nap, and coercement via Deerling eyes for the girl,” Oldale Elliot had been rattling off various charges for the three teenagers in the holding cell for twenty minutes.
Mostly it was leveled at Milo and Melissa. Zack was being treated on a guilt-by-association basis.
Artie and Smeargle had made a hasty retreat when Oldale Elliot showed up. Smeargle’s fur had been slightly singed, but it was otherwise fine.
Oldale’s residents had been evacuated to either Littleroot or Petalburg until it was safe to return, and the local firefighters had contained the wildfire so quickly that it wasn’t necessary to call in the Mt. Chimney Fire Department for help.
Which was probably a good thing, since Melissa wasn’t keen on seeing her dad after their last argument.
Milo’s head was still spinning from the fact that they’d entered Petalburg in the back of a bona fide 2001 Volcarona brand fire truck. Only ten of those had ever been made, equipped with five different ladders and a bell that sounded like a volcanic eruption.
Okay, so Oldale Elliot had insisted on escorting them to the holding cell in Petalburg City and the staring and muttered complaints about the younger generation had been more than a little awkward but it was a 2001 Volcarona! How could he not be excited?
“Not even a week and we’ve already been arrested,” Zack sighed. He twirled Treecko’s Poké Ball in his hand. “Seriously, you’re supposed to confiscate someone’s Pokémon before arresting them.”
“We were evacuating the premises under the watchful eye of an escort,” Melissa replied, reclining on the rough wooden board that was supposed to pass for a bed. “We weren’t arrested.”
“Explain the holding cell then.
“Relax. There’s no trial date,” Melissa smirked. “Yet.”
Zack glared at her. “You’re a natural at reassurance.”
“Thanks! I try,” Melissa said.
Unhappy with the current arrangements, Diogee had taken to pacing and scratching the walls with his claws. “Don’t worry. We’ll be out before you know it,” Milo soothed, trying to keep Diogee from wearing down his claws too much.
The wall behind him crumbled to pieces just as a much younger Elliot opened the door. A backwards baseball cap was perched on his head. “So these are the ones who caused the fire in your town, Gramps?” his voice cracked on the last syllable, and he rubbed his throat in embarrassment.
“Pay attention,” Oldale Elliot barked, thrusting his cane in Milo’s direction. “His sunny disposition is a façade to hide his unsafe delinquent ways.”
Then he pointed the cane at Melissa and Zack. “And these are whippersnappers Murphy has recruited into his crusade of destruction.”
“Heh, you said whippersnapper,” Milo giggled into his hand.
“No respect,” Oldale Elliot grumbled.
Before he could complain any further, footsteps echoed down the hall. “Please excuse my interruption, gentlemen,” a smooth, pleasant voice rang out.
A man in a black and red business suit stepped into the cell. His brilliant white smile didn’t falter even as Oldale Elliot muttered an insult under his breath while everyone else was just too confused to speak. Two Skitty perched on his shoulder, occasionally rubbing their faces against the man’s neck.
“Hello, children,” he greeted. He rubbed the Skitty under their chins, causing them to melt into a purring mess. “I’ve been looking for some fresh challengers lately, and you seem to fit the bill.”
When nobody replied, the man glanced over to Diogee. “Ah, pardon my manners. My name is Bob Block, but please just call me Bob. Mr. Block is my descendant. And these are two of my lovely Skitty, Kiki and Sophie. They insisted on coming along.”
Kiki and Sophie mewed as Diogee sniffed them curiously.
“I think my dad mentioned you at some point,” Melissa recalled. “Mostly to complain about your Skitty beating his highly trained Fire-types at the Gym Leader Annual Picnic.”
Bob chuckled. “You must be Richard’s daughter. Your dad’s got a bit of a competitive streak. His Torkoal is tough, but what can he expect it to do in an agility course?”
Oldale Elliot rapped his cane against the ground to get Bob’s attention. “And this is the problem with your generation! Always makin’ excuses for the youngins.”
“Gramps, watch it! You can’t talk to a gym leader like that!” Petalburg Elliot hissed.
“I’m old and I’ll talk to him however I want! It’s a perk!” Oldale Elliot retorted.
As they argued over basic decency, Bob circled Diogee curiously. Diogee kept his eyes trained on him. Satisfied, Bob gave a small hum and nodded.
“I also have a keen interest in creatures associated with the supernatural,” Bob said. “According to Pokélantis legends, Absol were messengers of Umbra, the god of darkness, and their appearance was a forewarning to tsunamis and hurricanes. Whereas in more recent history, a man had the idea to harness Absol’s power to predict natural disasters in order to save the lives of people and Pokémon alike. I find the duality rather fascinating.”
At the mention of his ancestor, Milo nodded eagerly. “That was Sheriff Murphy! His Absol was named Cassandra and together they traveled all around Hoenn to show people that Absol were just misunderstood and wanted to help humanity! He was so awesome!”
Bob laughed at Milo’s enthusiasm. “A Murphy, huh? Interesting. How would you like to come by my gym? I’ve got a challenge for you, but it would be much easier to explain on my turf instead of this, ah…quaint, rustic room.”
He took a step back to avoid the leaky ceiling.
Oldale Elliot grimaced. “You can’t just release them like that! You have no authority!”
“Tell me, good sir. Do you have jurisdiction in Petalburg?” Bob asked, stroking Kiki’s head as he waited for Oldale Elliot to come up with a response.
“No, not really…” Oldale Elliot grumbled.
“Do you have any objections?” Bob turned to Petalburg Elliot, who shook his head.
“Back in my day, gym leaders actually yielded to police,” Oldale Elliot muttered, shaking his cane threateningly at Milo as they exited the jailhouse.
When Milo thought of Pokémon gyms, usually a battlefield and several rows of seats for an audience came to mind. He didn’t expect plush carpets, an assortment of colorful toys, and at least ten climbing trees that were all currently occupied by Skitty.
The entire room was a Skitty’s paradise.
“Mind their tails, please,” Bob called as the group carefully waded through the sea of Skitty.
Bob brought them into a dining area, separated from the rest of the room by a glass wall. He gently nudged three Skitty away from the door.
“I like to issue a pre-battle challenge for trainers who want my badge,” Bob explained as he set a tray of cheese and crackers in front of the group. They tore into the snack immediately. Milo piled a little of everything onto a small plate, then placed it on the floor for Diogee. “Are all of you planning to battle me?”
Melissa shook her head. “Just Milo. So what’s the challenge?”
A Skitty jumped into Bob’s lap, and he stroked it absentmindedly. The action reminded Milo heavily of the evil Silverfinger’s iconic Persian petting in Clauncherhunter IV: Get a Pincer Grip.
“Simple. A game of hide and seek with all my Skitty. They hide all over Petalburg, you try to find them. They won’t venture beyond city limits, don’t worry,” Bob replied. “If you manage to find them all, you may challenge me without any badges. I require that you obtain one badge for each Skitty you don’t find. If you miss more than eight Skitty, you can retake the challenge in a week. How does that sound?”
“Great!” Milo exclaimed. “So am I allowed help for this?”
Bob nodded. “You may enlist your friends’ help. I would prefer that you not battle my Skitty unless a situation warrants it.”
“We’re in. I’ve got siblings so I’m a master hide and seeker,” Zack boasted.
“At hiding or seeking?” Melissa asked.
Zack slumped. “Mostly hiding. Lee and Lance tend to cheat.”
Bob blew a whistle, and every Skitty filed out of the play area. The Skitty on his lap pushed the door open with its nose and followed them into the open air. He gave a lazy grin.
“You have until sunset. Good luck!”
The first ten Skitty were all hanging out by a pond next to the gym, offering no protest when Diogee herded them back into the play area. They’d clearly hung around the gym on purpose so they could get to the most coveted toys first.
“I see another one!” Milo shouted, pointing at a Skitty who somehow made her way up to the awning of a small grocery store. Covering his head with a fireman helmet as a precaution, he climbed a stepladder until he was level with the Skitty. He was close enough to read the tag on her lavender collar.
“Aw, so you’re Kit!” Milo cooed. “My name’s Milo. Hi. I’m just gonna get you down, okay?”
Kit tilted her head, mewing in confusion.
“I’m holding the ladder!” Zack yelled from below. “Wait, sir, don’t walk under…ugh, that guy’s gonna be having some bad luck.”
As Milo reached for Kit again, the sound of metal crashing against each other followed by someone’s yowl filled the air. Kit startled, jumping onto Milo’s head in fright and knocking his fireman helmet back. Milo slowly descended, gripping the sides of the ladder tightly since his vision was obscured by pink and cream fur.
Zack grimaced at the sight of two paramedics helping a man onto a gurney. “I told him not to walk under the stepladder.”
Melissa had been more interested in her Pokédex than her surroundings. “The Pokédex says Skitty are attracted to moving objects. We can save time if we get them to come to us. Milo, you got any craft supplies in your bag?”
Fifteen minutes later, Zack was completely slathered in a rainbow yarn and feather monstrosity. Milo and Diogee collapsed in laughter, and Melissa snapped photos of a very disgruntled Zack. Her camera hand was shaky due to her giggling.
“I need new traveling partners,” Zack complained to Kit, who mewed happily as she batted the ends of the yarn back and forth.
“Sorry, Zack,” Melissa snickered. “But you drew the short straw. Literally.”
She flashed the straws they’d used to decide who was wearing the Skitty Attractor Suit.
“It’s popular with our focus group too,” Milo added, teasing Kit with the end of a string.
“C’mon, Skitty Man,” Melissa grinned. “Let’s see how popular you are.”
“Don’t call me that,” Zack grumbled, but he allowed Milo and Melissa to parade him around.
As they wandered through town, Skitty popped out from drainage pipes, mailboxes, flowerbeds, and places Milo didn’t know Skitty could fit inside. Melissa extracted another Skitty from a discarded tissue box, setting her in front of a loose string.
Milo did a quick headcount, which was made more difficult by the Skitty’s constant shifting.
“Twenty-one, twenty-two…. Zack, could you hold still?” Milo asked. “Now I lost count.”
Slightly dazed from being knocked over, Zack sighed heavily. “Yes, Milo. Cause it’s completely possible to remain still when covered in yarn, feathers, and Skitty.”
“Okay, thanks,” Milo said. He started another headcount while Zack tried to keep Skitty away from his face.
“Alright, I’ve got thirty-seven,” Melissa announced. “We’ll take the long way back, see if there’s anyone we missed and-“ she paused when a harsh howl pierced the air. Melissa scrambled away from the alley. “What was that?”
Thankfully, the Skitty were too preoccupied with Zack’s outfit to care.
“Diogee, you stay and guard Zack and the Skitty,” Milo ordered. Diogee whined, his red eyes pleading. Milo ruffled the top of his head. “You have an important job too. Make sure none of the Skitty run off so we can challenge Bob soon.”
At the prospect of a tough battle, Diogee perked up.
“Torchic, help us out!” Melissa said, forgoing the dramatic throw and settling for a simple release. When the red light faded, Torchic got into a battle stance.
Milo shone a flashlight behind a dumpster, but didn’t see anything except for a torn plastic lid.
A stack of cardboard boxes rattled next to a wall, a Skitty’s mews intermingling with the growls of a dark gray canine.
“A Poochyena,” Melissa breathed, her eyes lighting up. “I’ve always wanted one, but they don’t live around Lavaridge.”
“Well, now’s your chance to catch one,” Milo suggested. “I’ll focus on getting the Skitty away.”
Melissa smiled. “Thanks. Torchic, Ember on Poochyena!”
Torchic sprung into action, several fiery cinders raining down around Poochyena. Poochyena’s attention shifted to Torchic, allowing Milo to grab Skitty from the top of the stack.
“Gotcha,” Milo murmured, calming Skitty with several pats to the head.
Poochyena tackled Torchic into a garbage can, holding the squirming Fire-type down with his front paws. Then he revealed sharp fangs that crackled with electricity.
“I wasn’t expecting you to know Thunder Fang,” Melissa muttered.
As Poochyena and Torchic struggled against the garbage cans, something purple and hand-shaped drooped over the opening.
“That’s it! Grab the glove and shove it in Poochyena’s face!” Melissa yelled.
In one smooth motion, Torchic grabbed the glove with her beak and yanked hard enough to dislodge it from the rest of the garbage. The end fell into Poochyena’s open mouth, startling him enough to let Torchic go. Thunder Fang harmlessly discharged into the glove.
“Rubber insulates against electricity,” Melissa said.
“Murphy’s Law has its uses as an educational tool,” Milo grinned.
“Would you call my dad and tell him that?” Melissa called over her shoulder. “Torchic, finish with Scratch!”
Torchic raked her feet against Poochyena’s side, pushing him back. Poochyena whined, ears flat against his head as he recovered.
“Poké Ball, go!” Melissa cried, trying out a two-handed toss that was more characteristic of someone from Dragonite Ball Z than a Pokémon trainer. The Poké Ball dropped from her hands and rolled away uselessly.
Milo retrieved the ball while Melissa tossed the second one, which also failed.
Torchic and Poochyena exchanged glances as the pile of Poké Balls built up around Melissa.
After the tenth failed throw, Poochyena nosed a ball open and allowed himself to be sucked in. The ball snapped shut, wiggled three times, and emitted the small noise that marked a successful capture.
“One of these days I’m gonna throw one right,” Melissa muttered.
“How did you find your pre-battle challenge? Interesting? Fun?” Bob asked once all the Skitty were brought back into the play area.
“Both,” Milo said. “Melissa caught a Poochyena.”
“Poochyena are said to be loyal partners,” Bob noted. “But in case you haven’t noticed, I’m a Skitty person.” He laughed at his own joke. “Anyway, you missed four of my darlings. Don’t worry about them, they’re all trained to come inside at sundown. Please feel free to come back when you have at least four badges.”
“Good,” Zack growled as he shrugged off the Skitty Attractor Device. “This thing was itchy.”
“An interesting feat of ingenuity though,” Bob said.
Zack scowled. “That’s because you weren’t the one wearing it.”
“Alright, we did your challenge,” Melissa said. “Any idea where we’re heading now?”
“Rustboro City,” Bob replied. “Go through Petalburg Woods and you’ll be there in no time. It’s also home to the Pokémon School and the Mahlson Corporation.”
“I swear I’ve heard that name somewhere before,” Zack said, running a hand through his hair as he tried to remember.
“Orton Mahlson is the creator and star of Dr. Magnezone, in addition to being the Hoenn champion,” Milo supplied. “His dad is the CEO of Mahlson Corp, which originally started as a zoning commission and grew into the lead research facility we know it as today!”
“Forgive him, he’s from Johto,” Melissa clarified for Bob.
Bob chuckled. “No problem. Now, why don’t you head for the Pokémon Center and rest up? Petalburg Woods has a very…distinct layout and you’ll need your energy.”
Milo, Melissa, and Zack gathered their belongings and turned to leave.
“We’ll be back once I get four badges!” Milo waved at Bob and Skitty, forcing Melissa to pull him away from the path of an oncoming van. “So, he’s pretty cool!”
“Don’t praise him in front of me, Milo,” Melissa warned. “Poochyena are loyal partners and that’s a fact, not a rumor.”
AN: Hoo boy so this chapter got away from me. Hope you guys liked it!

oooh, this guy is very tall! perfect for a perch. she's going to jump off the bench she's currently sitting on to climb on up to his head and take a seat with a little tweet of satisfaction.
Tumblr media
Of course Kanji notices the little pokemon. How could he not?! Even if she was super tiny and super adorable, there’s no way he didn’t catch himself walking towards her. As she settles herself on the top of his head, he can’t help but wonder if his hair’s soft enough for her liking. It could be a mess up there at times but – that little, satisfied tweet… oh my god. How fucking cute could one thing be?!?! Kanji nearly lets out a very, very manly squeal but it comes out as a suppressed ‘eeeee’. ...Torchic’s made this tall guy very, very happy.

1-20 and 50-70 for the pokemon asks
This took so long to answer them all, but I got there!!!
1. favorite type?
Electric!! Water is a close second though, then Grass and Flying!
2. least favorite type?
Ground or Rock honestly. I just don’t tend to train pokemon of those types, it’s nothing against the actual pokemon~
3. favorite dual type?
Ooooo tough one! Electric/anything is honestly always fun, but I’ve got a soft spot for Ghost/Fairy ever since Mimikyu was released, and I hope there’s more of that type combo in the future!
4. least favorite dual type?
I genuinely can’t think of one!!
5. favorite trainer?
Just going off the games and not including gym leaders/trial captains here, it’s Gladion, Hau or Wally!
6. least favorite trainer?
Probably Silver honestly. I never got to play HG/SS, so if he got more development in those games, someone please let me know, but just based on what I have played and know of him, he’s definitely my least favourite~
7. favorite gym leader?
Can I have a few? Misty, Falkner, Jasmine, Wattson, Wallace and Fantina!!
8. least favorite gym leader?
Pryce’s gym always takes me FOREVER to get through to the point where I can actually battle him, so I’m going to say him for that alone >_
9. favorite elite four member?
LORELEI!!! I’ve adored her ever since I first played Yellow when I was 6~
10. least favorite elite four member?
Sydney and Lance have always been massive pains in the butt for me to beat!!
11. favorite trial (sun & moon)?
Ghost, hands down!!
12. least favorite trial (sun & moon)
I remember the first time I played Sun, the Grass trial was the biggest pain in the butt!!
13. favorite antagonist team?
I’ve got a soft spot for Aqua, but at the end of the day, it’s gotta be Team Rocket!
14. least favorite antagonist team?
Plasma or Flare, only because they’re the ones I know the least about >_
15. favorite shiny pokemon?
For sentimental reasons, it’s Espeon~ Love that little green alien!
16. least favorite shiny pokemon?
I’m not a big fan of ones where it’s hard to tell if it’s shiny without the sparkles around it, like Gengar, but really all shinies are special because they’re shiny!!
17. 3 favorite pokemon?
I’m gonna force myself to not to list the whole ‘Chu line or any of the “Pikachu Clones”, so I’m gonna say Pidgeot, Vaporeon and Torchic!
18. 3 least favorite pokemon?
All pokemon are good and deserve love and respect!! I have certain pokemon of certain types I’m not as fond of as others if you put them on a list, sure, but there aren’t any pokemon I actively dislike at all!
19. favorite pokemon game?
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team, Silver and Alpha Sapphire~!!
20. least favorite pokemon game?
I genuinely do not have one!! Every single pokemon game I’ve ever played, even if it was only a small bit of it, I’ve loved it!!
50. least favorite ice type?
I’m so sorry Vanillish, cause I know your whole evolutionary lines gets knocked a lot, but I had to pick someone >_
51. favorite bug type?
Butterfree!! Always has been always will be! Scyther is a close second though!
52. least favorite bug type?
Pinsir >_
53. favorite dragon type?
Dragonite or Goomy!!
54. least favorite dragon type?
Oh god this is hard cause all the dragons are super cool!! Maybe Druddigon, only because I genuinely forget it exists half the time >_
55. favorite ghost type?
Mimikyu!! As soon as it was revealed I fell in love with it. I’ve trained a few now and they’re always tiny, affectionate powerhouses! I don’t think I could ever play a game in Alola without taking one with me~
56. least favorite ghost type?
I love the lore behind it, but I don’t think I’d ever train a Cofagregius >_
57. favorite dark type?
Umbreon or Cacturne!!
58. least favorite dark type?
Hmmm Pawniard/Bisharp maybe? I’ve fought Bisharps in the Battle Tree and they’re really strong and cool, but they’re just not pokemon I think about too much >_
59. favorite psychic type?
Espeon!!! Slowbro and Wobbuffet are close seconds, but I love Espeon so much!!
60. least favorite psychic type?
I’m not the biggest fan of Drowzee/Hypno, but they’re not awful~
61. favorite steel type?
Magnezone!!!
62. least favorite steel type?
Durant, only because I really, really don’t like ants irl. I’m sorry Durant - you’re still really cool, I promise!!
63. favorite fairy type?
I shouldn’t say Mimikyu twice, so Sylveon!!

68. least favorite animated adaptation?
I haven’t seen enough to be able to say, honestly!!
69. favorite pokemon card?
THIS ONE!! HE LOOKS SO HAPPY!! LOOK AT THIS BEAUTIFUL HAPPY BOY!!
