Alrighty before the new episodes come out I have a theory I want to put out

These three right here Lucifer, Lilith, and Eve are why hell is the way it is, I'm calling it now and I want to be wild with this theory for a moment. These three were in a poly relationship or situationship, or just friends, or Eve might have been like fuck you dude after her experiences with Adam, and was just friends with Lilith.

Now as we know when Lucifer fell and was sent to hell he got majorly depressed, he is not doing well its hard to say he is functional, as someone with depression he needs help but he gave up. Which is hard and something you can't do especially when you have a child, Eve could have pointed it out, maybe in Charlie and Lilith's best interest maybe not. But we're going to say they left together and raised Charlie together maybe with Eve maybe being her nanny, her tutor who knows but she was there, she has to be because she definitely isn't in heaven from what we have seen.

They could have been twinning it up if the theory is they look identical is correct but I don't know about that, Adam's face looks a screen monitor, and his exorcists follow that trend, which makes me think she's static, the static you see on the TV when you have no signal or looking for a channel and the antenna isn't in a ok position, and you know what this fits to me at least.

Let's look at Lilith in hazbin hotel, she is audible, music song, her voice, Soundwaves carrying empowering messages and songs.

Visual and Audible, almost like two other characters we see Alastor, and Vox. Alastor being audible with radio and his waves casting his shows out, and Vox with his shows, tech, all of the media that requires being seen. Vox is always trying to get at Alastor, what if their relationship is a mirror of Lilith and Eve's. Eve jealous or wanting to be close to Lilith, who knows maybe Eve is the one Alastor made a deal with and the reason he was so mad at Lucifer is because Eve might have been at Lilith's side and this man hasn't done a thing, after years of help raise his daughter now he shows up, like boy if you don't you'r behind out of here like go! Or maybe Alastor did make a deal with Lilith and after hanging out having sometime with the girls got the tea and about Lucifer seeing how he is a parent and was like no, and now has a beef with him.

Which leads us to our other thing why haven't we seen Eve, anything about her seems just hidden or lock and key, we never see anything but her smile, never her eyes which makes you think right, another bit into this ramble of a theory I got eyes are the windows to the soul, straight to the heart right does Eve even have one, like is she a good person, what kind of a person was she because the smile she wears might not be a kind one, she is the mother of Cain and Able and all the other humans, Adam is a asshole, but what is Eve.

Is Eve angry because maybe Lucifer and Lilith didn't take her with them, now she's stuck with Adam and being the eternal scapegoat for years for eating the fruit. Being the reason people put down women because they are her daughters, this could be a big revenge plan on heaven, for letting Adam when he doesn't deserve it into heaven. Lucifer and Lilith for giving her the fruit and ruining everything about humanity, for heaven for creating humanity and letting them suffer, to go through it all and end up in hell

Or the other sad theory is Lilith is Dead, more than likely do to Lucifer and, Eve is fucking pissed but you know what they continue the relationship and someone has the idea for her to pretend to be Lilith, maybe for Charlie's best interest for hell's best interest. Because Lucifer isn't running the show, someone has too mind you the show being run is awful but it's running and why do I say it's awful. Because when you look at helluva boss and the treatment of some hellborn demons they have their problems like when Blitz when to go take Loona for her shots and it took as long as it did for them to even be seen.

Which Lucifer doesn't care about, the other leaders of the rings and the other people in charge don't care the system works for them, Imps, hellhounds. But at the sametime it's supposed to be awful its hell, but at the sametime the people it's supposed to punish can't even leave the top layer, so why is awful in some of the other layers, mainly because the others are left to their own devices, when leading their rings, Mammon is a piece of shit, but Asmodeus isn't as bad of a guy as you would think, Beelzebub as we see her isn't either. Now my other reason why Lucifer doesn't care as much, they don't have his gift, humans have his gift of knowledge and have souls, the hellborn as we know don't have a soul, not sure gonna need to get more proof on this but this is a theory ramble.

The angels and heaven created hell to keep Lucifer in so he would be punished and never see the good results of his work they would be in heaven, out of reach. That doesn't mean he doesn't care about them a little bit he made sure that the hellborn, and his daughter would be spared from being killed by heaven.

But yeah this is my theory rant until the new episodes until they come out or the brain gets going again. Hazbin majorly breaks the show don’t tell rule in terms of how bad hell is to exist in. We are told that there are exterminations but don’t see one. Characters getting hurt in hell is few and far between.

Like Sir Pentius is the first released but what was so bad about his life? Or mimzy’s, nifty’s, alastors, charlie’s, or most sinners? Vox, Velvette, and Val are certainly not suffering. And Angel and Husk are extreme outliers who are not shown to fit into any pattern.

We’re just not shown what the average hell demon is going through in a way where we’re meant to care. We could have gotten that if the writers actually had Charlie redeeming sinners and there were actually any in the hotel, but the hotel is fucking empty the whole show.

These have been sitting in my ask box for a few days and admittedly, I was just gonna let them rot there but.

Let's talk.

I write in my spare time. I don't get paid to write fanfictions ( unless they are commissioned pieces, which are all on a hold for the foreseeable future ), imagines, etc. It's something I do when I have the time & I have the muse to do so.

Why haven't I been writing as much?

-I suffered 2 major deaths in my family literally 2 weeks apart from each other. The first one, I was in vacation in another state & had to cut it short, turn around, and drive 1600 miles in 3 days to go home, pick up my family, drive to my other family, have the funeral, go through a tornado outbreak that same night while staying in a hotel & having nowhere to go, find out that some of my relatives houses were damaged & the city they lived in had been majorly damaged by the tornadoes, and then drive home. And then, 2 weeks later, there's another death on the other side of my family. So my summer was spent grieving and in funerals.

-Prior to that, I have depression!! I had a depressive episode that lasted for a hot minute where I didn't do anything!!

-NOW, I got a new job & am back to work for the first time in 1 year and 8 months. It took me a year and eight months to find a job that is nowhere even near my degree field. Wild shit. Anyways. My new job takes a LOT of mental strength. I work as an attorney's assistant. I work Wednesday & Thursday, all day. Fridays are my half days. Which doesn't sound bad!! Except I have a stack of things I have to file that is nearly 200 pages deep bc there was a gap between the person before me leaving & when I started that they got behind. So I'm busy 20 hours a week. & what I handle can be VERY emotionally hard, as I've recently found out. I can't share details bc privacy laws- but I have to read some not great shit.

-In the 4 days that I have off, I help my mother. I'm a partial caretaker for her; I do all of the grocery runs & doctor appointments in those spare times.

So. Yknow. I enjoy writing, I have requests that I've been working on & things in my drafts that I do work on in my free time, but like. I have a life, yknow? And I know everyone has shit going on in their personal lives, I get that. I know fanfiction & fandom is an escape.

But I'm just a person. I have a partner who I try to spend as much time as possible with bc we're long distance. There's a lot more happening that I'm not gonna talk about here because quite frankly- it isn't anyone's business.

I love writing. I love making fanfiction and I love writing requests but y'all have got to stop treating us writers like your personal fiction creators that exist only for your beck & call. Bc I've seen that happen a LOT over the last few years. Majority of us do this for free because we enjoy it. That's it.

As I think she very much does. As exhibited in episode 3-

“I’m sorry I got so crazy today-”

“No, no, I’m sorry. I’m sorry I put pressure on you.”

Because it’s Charlie’s fault, it’s always her fault.

Episode 3, episode 4, the outcome of episode 6, the possibility of losing her new family, Adam killing Pentious, the death of everyone, on her side or otherwise, it’s her fault.

Even when Charlie asks, “How come [Alastor] can have faith in me but my own father can’t?”

That’s half “Why won’t you support me?” and another half “What’s wrong with me that makes you not love me?”

Their relationship downright starts with Vaggie being someone Charlie saved. Someone whose wellbeing was in Charlie’s hands. Who she had to care for and nurse back to health. Who she had to extend responsibility over.

The only character who majorly interacts with Charlie who escapes being being an extension of her responsibility is, honestly, Alastor.

Part 1 of this is Alastor removing himself as one of the ‘suffering sinners.’ Not only does Alastor make it clear he’s quite comfortable down in Hell, he’s constantly removing himself from the subject of Charlie saving her citizens. He doesn’t participate in the hotel’s activities. He isn’t present for the phone call with Lucifer, which has the explicit purpose of gaining Charlie an audience with Heaven to save her people. He’s absent from the club in episode 6, which becomes the subject arguing for the redemption of sinners. Even in episode 2, when Charlie actually does ‘save’ a sinner, that being Pentious, he doesn’t reveal himself until everyone else has left the room. The only exception to this during the “I have to save my people” of More Than Anything. Combine that with his initial dismissal of redemption-

-he eliminates himself from Charlie’s mind as a sinner in need of saving, in need of her.

Part 2 is him making Charlie his responsibility. He’s appears at her doorstep to help. He fixes up the hotel, gives her staff to run it, and only wants to watch it all unfold. Anything she needs he’ll deliver, at her beck and call.

“I’m your guy, your day-to-day, your chum, your steadfast hotelier.”

He’s ole reliable, providing her exactly what she needs (without her having to worry about his wellbeing, too strong to be hurt and too mentally stable to potentially fall apart, at least from Charlie’s initial perspective), but not just for the hotel. He gives her the information needed to defend the hotel, teaches her the skills to be the leader she needs to be, and takes her to the exact person who not only has an army for her, but repairs the damage in her relationship causing her oh so much unnecessary turmoil. He keeps her happy, stable, prepared, and maintains the family Charlie has built, all just for one little deal. Isn’t he being reasonable? Asking for a favor so small, just a safety net for the both of them really, so he can give Charlie everything she needs.

Then part 3, injecting himself as the father figure she’s always wanted.

Charlie is very desperate for a father that believes in her, supports her, one that considers her- her happiness and their relationship- their responsibility.

And as much as Lucifer is trying to make up for his past failures, what he can’t undo is that he’s Charlie’s responsibility.

Not exactly him, or his wellbeing, as with other people. Because we see Charlie (justifiably) put the burden of their relationship improving on his shoulders, and at first is incredibly frustrated with him.

Rather, Charlie is responsible for her parents’ legacy.

The dreamer? The revolutionary?

That’s what Charlie has to persevere. To cradle it, keep it from dying out like her father, from disappearing like her mother.

The pressure Charlie is under with her parents is so palpable. Her trying so hard to appear neat and proper while her parents’ grandeur looms over her.

But with Alastor and Rosie?

Their support is relieves pressure. The angling of the scene showing them allowing Charlie to rise.

Isn’t it just a perfect little escapist fantasy for Charlie? All of the fatherly affection from Alastor that she’s been missing out on for god knows how many years and the maternal support from Rosie that she hasn’t had in seven years with none of the baggage? None of the heartbreak or wondering why she’s seemingly abandoned again and again, just their support and belief in her. Alastor and Rosie never set the hurdles Charlie has to overcome, only help her pass them. They shape her into the version of her that she needs to be. And they’ll keep doing so.

“She’s filled with potential I could guide.”

As long as she’s convinced the version of her she needs to be is the very same they want her to be.

OH Oh oh, I would love to hear a Charlie canon vs fanon rant if you're up for sharing?

Ok ok mainly I was thinking of someone recently saying “Charlie represents a shallow christian view of redemption in which you just try really hard and don’t do drugs! you’ll be a good person that easy!” (paraphrased) and well. No. Definitely not.

What Charlie represents is the emotional idea of redemption.

Charlie’s chosen existence is based fully upon the idea that there is no category of “bad person” that excludes someone from being human. As such, everyone is capable of redemption because ‘there’s good in everyone deep down inside, she knows there is.’ People like to think this as naivety (which is. a whole other thing) but this is the stance the show takes every seriously. So many, and I mean so many, are under this impression that Charlie is at some point going to be proven wrong about redemption. That not everyone can actually be redeemed. But she just won’t be because the point is always that Charlie is right. With Angel, with Pentious, against Lucifer, against Adam and against Sera, she’s proven right.

“You build something nice, you invite people in and offer them everything and they just bring VIOLENCE and CHAOS to your doorstep. It doesn’t matter how well intentioned you are, they’ll always disappoint you.”

…He says, as the hotel crew work together to keep each other safe and out of harm’s way even at their own risk.

In any case, Charlie’s view of redemption is that of loving-

-and being loved.

This is what the series shows. Every fully realized character loves, and is loved by, someone.

No exceptions.

It’s a deliberate point of humanization because the show argues everyone has humanity. Which is what Charlie argues! The show is always in alignment with her values. As such, it doesn’t make sense to argue any of this is something she is meant to grow out of.

Now, where the above statement is drawn from is that she doesn’t have the practical understanding of redemption. Hence the parody of America’s famously ineffectual D.A.R.E program. This done because Charlie is very much throwing shit at the wall (done through looking at common behavior in hell and having her patrons not do the opposite to appeal to Heaven) in very desperate hope something will work and Heaven will recognize her people… as people. Importantly, the significant thing of Angel Dust and Sir Pentious being the actors in this scene is that through understanding them Charlie learns a practical idea of redemption. That being as (and what the show properly conceptualizes redemption as) the correction of behavior that harms oneself or those around you. Which is why we go from:

To:

“Heavenly people, the porn star chose a night of debauchery, that’s not a soul worthy of being in Heaven!”

“Are you really telling me you haven’t had a drink with friends at the end of a hard day?”

She’s not bending over backwards to make Angel as appealing as possible to Heaven, she’s making a stance that disagrees with their perception of ‘bad behavior’, reminding them to acknowledge his hardships and what influences his behavior, and making it clear that these specific actions aren’t having a negative effect on anyone, and therefore doesn’t contradict her statement that Angel has improved.

Then people see the part of Charlie’s arc which is learning to have a damn backbone (to put it bluntly) and go and argue that the end point for Charlie’s character is to “stop being nice.” Well, first of all, Charlie being nice is the only reason everyone isn’t dead, so jot that down, and second, while yes Charlie fights against Adam, the ultimate result of that conflict is:

“He’s had enough.”

Charlie is always going to choose mercy. She is always going to extend humanity. She is always going to offer the olive branch. People think Charlie is going to come to some grand revelation about having to be cruel and that just, isn’t the point. Because the big thing is that people believe Charlie is defined by her naivety (and that eventually that naivety must be destroyed) but she isn’t.

The only moment I can really think that suggests Charlie being such is her singing in the pilot during the newsbroadcast despite being warned otherwise. Besides that, I just don’t see it as a major point of characterization. Because we see Charlie acknowledge not everyone wants to change, but she doesn’t get to deny any the opportunity, deny them the hotel. Because they were entitled to the opportunity to change and improve by process of being alive. “How can I turn him away? I can’t. It goes against everything I stand for.”

In general I think there’s a failure of people who view Charlie as just… naturally happy go lucky at factory default and miss that Charlie’s kindness is a choice.

Charlie was born into a broken world with a decomposing kingdom to her name. Her optimism is a developed coping mechanism because it’s the only way she can believe everything can maybe work out. Because Charlie has been surrounded by this constant death she felt powerless to stop and everyone has just! accepted it! This constant misery that she unavoidably bares witness to, and it feels like she’s the only one who cares.

So she has to be kind. She has to believe things can tangibly improve. She has to put the entire world and then some onto her own shoulders and live with every action she takes having millions of lives dependent on it. Charlie doesn’t even think she’s any sort of properly equipped to do any of this, but she’s the only person who’s bothering to try.

As Charlie deeply internalizes what people say about her. Hell’s clown, a joke, a fool chasing an impossible dream, destined to fail. Whenever anything goes wrong, Charlie directs that entirely at her own self. Adam is going to slaughter the hotel? What a horrible person she was to give the them false hope. Heaven decided to personally purge Charlie and her family because they dared to believe in their own personhood? Well she should have done a better job at convincing them otherwise.

Charlie doesn’t like herself.

So she masks it.

Sometimes the mask, the optimism, breaks.

I think Charlie’s optimism is as to Alastor’s cruelty, that’s why this scene compares them the way it does. Those aspects of them, they’re not fake exactly, but they are conjured to shield their fears. Charlie is afraid of failing everyone and Alastor is afraid of… being afraid in the first place frankly.

Because again, Charlie views everyone as her responsibility. She needs no reasoning beyond Hell being her people for her to dedicate her entire being to them. People seem to not acknowledge how closely she and Vaggie manifest their feelings of self loathing, even if they pretty much do it on opposite ends of the spectrum. Vaggie is a living extension to Charlie, Charlie is a living extension of Hell. The knight and the princess, both sworn to their own duties even at their own suffering. And the princess would burn herself to ash to warm her kingdom. Charlie is the self chosen sacrificial lamb.

Odette O’Riley did not grow up in peachy circumstances. Sure she was spoilt, she grew up in her family hotels and never wanting for anything but it came at a price. Her family was one giant bunch of criminals. 

Her father, her late mother, her siblings - each one of them had blood on their hands and Odette figured out from a pretty young age that she was going to be joining them. 

She suffered majorly from being her daddies favourite, and the baby of the family. Never really knowing a consequence in her life. The problem was for as tough as the rest of her family was, and as much she acted like a brat and got her own way she wasn’t as rough and ready as the rest of them. 

When she finished high school she moved back to Ireland to go to university there, staying with an aunt who was still on the right side of the law but 12 weeks ago she received a phone call that it was time to head home to Chicago. 

In a last ditch effort of refusal and freedom her aunt suggested she applied to the Interchange, an opportunity that not even her heartless father could pass up and to her delight she got in, continuing her studies in nursing. 

Odette is here to get the most she can and take as long as possible with her degree as she knows not only will she be getting a nursing job when she goes back to Chicago but 3am wake up calls to patch up god knows what.

kinda riffing off the exhausting thought about 2019 only being 2 years ago...

like. every hour i feel guilty for “not doing more.” some of that guilt and shame i think is... more suited to me just needing to take some personal responsibility for procrastination and laziness. but a lot of it is... truly, what i suspect to be undiagnosed ADD that i haven’t learned how to manage yet. and fatigue.

i have to let myself remember the fatigue. to remember - spurred by my flippant comment - that 2020 knocked me on my ass. i know it was truly horrific for the whole world, so i think i downplay my own struggles because of that. i’m alive, i have a home, and i’m not in a depressive spiral— that’s the win, right? i should be grateful. i should be thriving.

but, like... my dad’s cancer came back and hasn’t really budged. my brother was almost stuck in russia— his flights kept getting canceled (not even because of covid— because of bomb threats); he just barely squeaked through the travel bans. my car was repossessed because of an error in renewal and payment instructions given to us by the dealership. so we bought it— just paid off what was left of the lease. 3 months later that car was rear-ended and totaled— when i already barely left the house bc of covid and especially bc of my immunocompromised father. so in the like 10 times i’d left the house in 6 months, i suffered a year-long insurance runaround over a crash that was 0% my fault. a few weeks after the car being totaled, i had to flee my home when raging wildfires encircled it on all four directions of the compass. i cried every day in the hotel room. the fires got within 2 miles of my home, with every sentimental item and art piece of mine inside. my mother was attacked in her own home— broken ribs, broken knee, the psychological trauma. covid closed our family restaurant multiple times— and continues to; we are pouring personal loans from our savings / investments and federal loans into the business to keep afloat. meanwhile all of the election distress and pain of our polarized society was buzzing in the background. and oh, the isolation: i haven’t seen a friend in real life in over a year, and i’m already a very majorly introverted homebody with rejection sensitive dysphoria so i self-isolate. and at christmas i found out my cousin was admitted into long-term rehab for her eating disorders, which i didn’t even know she was struggling with.

and after all that... i am sitting here, beating myself up for art block— and for struggling to re-organize my life— and for being reluctant to go fight the mental health system that wants to tell me i’m overreacting to diagnose myself with adult ADD— and for being afraid to hope for success— and having trouble believing in myself— and overall just berating myself for worrying about my most basic pyramid levels of security needs being met.

it was a hard year. can i let that sink in? can i allow myself some grace?

I’m doing a wedding at the end of the month for the most impossible bride. I don’t know why I took on her booking but I do know that she didn’t seem this difficult when she first booked. But OH MY GOSH is she a challenge. 😭 I regret taking her wedding so much and just want it to be over. I am so terrified that she’s going to leave a bad review because NOTHING I do is good enough (even though I’m doing double what I should be for her). It’s so bad that I’ve already prepared a response to a hypothetical negative review from her. 😬 A few examples of the craziness:

• Instead of asking a vendor her question directly, she makes me ask. And then gets annoyed at me if the response from the VENDOR isn’t what she was hoping for.

• She got very mad at me via email because she didn’t read her contract with me properly. I don’t offer decor delivery or errands on the wedding day but she assumed I’d be picking up and dropping off her decor. I gave her some great options to solve the delivery concerns which she shot down SO fast. And basically said: “what the hell did I even hire you for?!” I ended up bending over backwards and bending my rules for her. As soon as I did that she relented and found out a new solution (after thankfully apologizing for being a bridezilla - her words, not mine).

• Her wedding is so simple but yet she stresses about every. single. thing. All she’s providing is a card box, place cards and a skirt for her to wear at the ceremony. Everything else is coming from the venue, the florist, or the decorator. But those three items have caused insane stress, even though they’re so simple.

• She’s currently emailing me about the skirt she’s wearing for the ceremony. She wants it steamed. She thought the venue would have a steamer but they don’t. I suggested that a local dry cleaner could very easily steam it. “Nope, my friend is storing it on the floor at her house because it’s too big for the closet so that won’t help.” I suggested getting it done at her hotel. “Nope, the transportation from friend’s house to hotel to venue is TOO difficult.” I suggested dry cleaning again and then laying it gently on the floor at her friend’s house. “NOPE, that simply won’t work.” 😡😡😡😡😡 I’m giving you very solid options, just pick one! I know she’s just trying to get me to say and do it. But hell no, I’m not going to steam it for you because 1. I don’t have a steamer and 2. It’s way beyond my scope of work to do that.

• She’s so stressed about having to pay extra for her wedding. She chose a venue that estimates the amount of wine they think will be drank and who will fine the bride and groom if any outside food is brought in (including a friend drinking a Starbucks). So now the bride wants me to police the staff to ensure they don’t over pour wine and to police her guests to ensure they don’t bring in extra food. Because I don’t have enough else to focus on on the wedding day. ����

• She has sent almost three times the amount of emails that any other client has sent this year. It’s so taxing to wake up to three to four new emails from her almost daily, mostly with really stupid or unnecessary questions or notes from her.

The big thing is that she majorly suffers from anxiety. I have anxiety too so I get that. But hers is next level and has made her so difficult to work with. I feel like she’s impossible to please and that concerns me a lot. The wedding day could go so smoothly but still not be good enough for her. And I could do twice of what I normally do and it still not be enough to make her happy.

There’s a reason that this is happening in Texas, and as usual, it has to do with our shitty state leadership and history. The people here suffer under their tyranny in so many ways and this one has reared its ugly head, majorly:

So far, I’ve been super super lucky and my neighborhood in Austin has had power. I only had 1 water pipe freeze that I got moving again w/ a hair dryer and hoping no damage 🤞

Price gouging was happening at local hotels. I have friends who haven’t had power since 2am on Monday and it’s been -5 to 20 degrees since then.......in homes without insulation meant for this type of weather. And the roads are too bad for them to get much of anywhere and there are no plows or salt trucks here.

We’re expecting a second wave of snow between now and Thursday when the temps are expected to rebound to somewhat normal over the weekend (above freezing at least.) The outages will continue for a while and ERCOT is warning that even more crushing failures of the grid may be coming.

over a million people in houston alone don't have power and its largely the same across the state. most people across houston reported losing power at 2 AM Feb 15 and never regained it (my neighborhood included) despite energy companies swearing its rolling blackouts and not mass outage.

We’re suddenly in a Lifetime movie! A woman, in a tan trench-like coat, is rollerblading down the street and trips, falling literally and figuratively for a man, with close cropped light brown hair (and slightly elfin ears), who catches her. The elaborate wedding cake he was carrying is destroyed in the process. A creepy dude watches approvingly, when Lucifer surprises him and reveals he’s actually an overdressed Cupid! Cas is now in the bunker and giving the brothers the lowdown on all that’s been going on this season. Poor Sam has to learn that Lucifer is Earth 1 side. Dean has to learn that he hasn’t been talking to Cas this whole time.

The boys also learn that Mary is alive (which Jack showed them already?)

Lucifer hams up the almost-human bit. He’s cold and hungry. (I don’t rewatch 9x03 because it’s hard to watch Cas in this position. This is just annoying. Will Lucifer burn out his vessel on borrowed grace? Fingers crossed.)

Asmodeus and Ketch meet to discuss recent events. What was Asmodeus’s “important errand”? In any event, it’s pointed out by Ketch how monumentally stupid Asmodeus is. Ha. I mean, he really fails at a lot.  

Asmodeus tasks Ketch with killing the devil. Ketch seems less than impressed with the idea.

Luci tries emulating another homeless man, but fails. The other man offers to get Lucifer some food, and while they’re dumpster diving, he tells Lucifer about Sister Jo, a faith healer. Luci has his next meal lined up!

At the bunker, Dean and Cas finally have a couple minutes alone before Interrupting Moose interrupts.

Dean apologizes for not knowing Cas was captured. Cas deflects the unnecessary sentiment. He also deflects Dean’s question on whether he’s fine. CAS.

Sam arrives at the bunker and he has Donatello with him! He’s here because they have a plan. Use the demon tablet to open a door to the AU, throw Lucifer into that world, get their mom and Jack back, and escape before Michael follows them. Why use Donatello to translate the demon tablet if it’s only a maybe that the spell is on it? As many people have pointed out, why not use Kevin’s Elamite translations? (Boris: I watch 9x06 more than is allowed and wondered this right away!) (Natasha: at first I assumed they were going to unwrap Kevin’s translations and give Donatello a head start.) Ahem, rolling with the plot. Cas hears on Angel Radio that an angel was killed.

Cut to Sister Jo and her miraculous healing abilities, and Lucifer watching.

Team Free Will investigates the angel murder. They put it together that Lucifer is feeding on grace, trying to restore his power. Dean flirts with Cas. Cas flirts back. Sam looks distressed.

Lucifer introduces himself to Sister Jo, who is not impressed or intimidated. She’s really Anael, a rogue angel that Hannah and Cas didn’t find back in season 10. She’s a savy businesswoman who knows what she wants and how to play the game of humaning, so I’ll handwave that away. She talks Lucifer into using her grace a bit at a time. Apparently angel grace can recharge?! Gah, I’ve read theories (but can’t find them now!) that Cas’s grace didn’t recharge because of his depression. I’ll take all the positive head canons for this episode that I can find.

Meanwhile, the guys start asking questions about the death of the cupid. Sam interviews the homeless man that helped Lucifer. “Actually we had a lovely chat.” Sam’s eyebrows couldn’t get much higher. Oh, Sam. The man leads the guys to Sister Jo.

Ok, Stop.

I am 1000% creeped out by the whole new way to extract angel grace. So. Fucking. Unnecessary. And. Gross.

Ok, Go.

That night, we find Lucifer feeding on Anael’s grace. He admits to killing the last angel, and Anael gets worried. Who knows who will come to her place next?

Team Free Will, that’s who.

They enter Jo’s meeting hall, to find...Ketch.

Ketch greets them like old pals. He tells them he’s in the area to kill Lucifer. Sam wants to know who he’s working for and Ketch dodges the question by suggesting a teamup. 

Cas is...not swayed by this argument. They stuff the unconscious Ketch in the trunk of the Impala and Dean suggests that they head back to the bunker, “find out what he knows and put a bullet in him. Burn his bones, and flush his ashes.” Cas in ON BOARD. Sam distracts them from their revenge fantasies to show them video of Sister Jo, who Cas immediately recognizes as fellow angel Anael. They head off to search for her body. Sam put a tracer on her credit card and when it’s used, they’ve got a clue on where to find her...or Lucifer.

Meanwhile, Sister Jo’s credit card is getting busy at a motel and so are...Sister Jo and Lucifer. Lucifer slowly sucks her grace in a sexualized manner and I just...

Basically, to me this approach to angel grace extraction with Sister Jo uses non-consensual (or at the very least, dubiously consensual) sexual overtones as a lazy shorthand to an imbalance of power between a man and woman. Of course, we’re overly sensitive to this because it’s essentially on a bingo card for these writers. We’ve seen the use of non-con or dub-con before by these writers in the past couple of seasons. (For example: in 12x2, 12x13, 13x02, and 13x13) When it appears, we throw up our hands and rant, regardless of how fair that is, because we’re steeling ourselves for it. On the other hand, maybe I’m still just pissed about what Toni Bevell did to Sam and how that was just brushed aside.

ANYWAY, afterward Anael and Lucifer collapse onto the bed breathlessly and talk about how less grace makes you feel more human emotions. Emotions are a wild ride that majorly weirds out angels. “When I’m in that place I can see how there’d be pain but there’s also hope. Love even.” Anael keeps it positive and then she reflects on the lot of angels. She was an unhappy cog in the machine in Heaven and falling to Earth was a blessing. It freed her.

Down in Kentucky Fried Hell, Asmodeus is catching up on his reading when a demon minion interrupts to tell him they’ve located the prophet. Donatello, meanwhile, is purchasing copious amounts of fried chicken wings. 

Cas appears and asks how his work with the Winchesters is going. Donatello blithely spills ALL the beans. His work with the demon tablet is going great and soon he’ll unravel how to open a door to another world (facepalm). Oh Donatello. “The ingredients are very, very complicated,” Donatello frets, talking about the spell to open a rift and NOT for example seven secret herbs and spices. Casmodeus then slips into his southern accent, freezes Donatello, and compels him to become his spy. Casmodeus sniffs at the fried chicken in a nod to fandom’s nickname for him.

The next morning TFW rolls up to the motel where Anael is staying. They draw her out by pretending to be motel management checking on her credit card. When she sees them and they ask about Lucifer she asks them for help. 

Sam and Dean greet Lucifer in the hotel room. “Morning sunshine,” Dean says and we both growl protectively over that phrase which should NOT BE SULLIED by being applied to Lucifer. Lucifer’s awkward while Anael quietly clues Lucifer in to the fact that TFW thinks he’s still depowered. Thanks, Anael. “Trapped” by TFW Lucifer engages in small talk, makes a crack about Sam’s hair (fuck you Lucifer), and asks about their plans for him.

Suddenly Anael and Lucifer team up to hurl TFW across the room with their rather powered up angel mojo. Lucifer does the patented heart-clench with his fists and Sam, Dean, and Cas writhe in pain on the floor. Suddenly Ketch appears and chucks a spell at the ground.

Lucifer and Anael flap out of there and wind up in the woods somewhere. “I help you and you help me,” Anael tells him. Lucifer accepts this at face value and asks her for further direction. I can see she’s manipulating him but we both fear that this is going to lead to a sudden death for her at some point towards the end of the season. We both hoping we get to see her written with a little more depth later on in the season, and not just some fleeting medium-bad adjunct.

Back in the hotel, Ketch thanks TFW for their rampant gratitude. He then suggests that they pool their resources and go after Lucifer together. He confesses to working for Asmodeus. “How is that supposed to make us feel better?” Dean demands. Ketch says he’ll pass intel on to TFW. Apparently Ketch draws the line at letting Lucifer prance around the planet.

For Science:

Back to Lucifer, he’s chatting with a few of the angel host out by the Heavenly sandbox. Threats are traded between them but Lucifer promises to make more angels if they raise him up as ruler of Heaven. Duma laughs at this offer at first but Lucifer offers to give them back their wings. Ooooo now we’re talking.

Speaking of wings, Donatello adds more bones to his ridiculous pile of consumed chicken. Donatello’s...on edge. He’s enjoying the tablet translation headache that Kevin always suffered from. (Kevin! I weep) He promises that he’s working out all the necessary ingredients.

As TFW gets closer to opening a rift to rescue Mary and Jack, Lucifer assumes his throne in Heaven with Anael just chillin’ by his side.

Some time later Ketch chats with Asmodeus and they bond over liquor. Ketch worries that he can’t defeat the devil at full power. Kentucky Fried Demon pulls out a prized acquisition: an archangel blade.

It can only be wielded by an archangel which seems to make things tricky. However, Asmodeus has one more secret in his pocket. He leads Ketch to a cell with a mysterious figure in it. The figure looks up and….IT’S GABRIEL! (Asmodeus is using Gabe’s powers headcanon)

Copyright Act 1957, which always had been to consider that any violation of the copyright subsisting the owner's work, until now. When a person, without acquiring proper license by the owner of the

copyrighted work to use his work at any place and yet the person uses, it is considered to be an infringement of the owner's copyright on this basis the music/pre-recorded songs that are being played in events/parties/hotels/social functions, etc., for any sort of commercial purpose, one needs to obtain the proper license at a particular tariff from the Indian Performing Rights Society Ltd. (IPRS), which will give exclusive authority over the public’s performance rights. This provisional laws basically act as a safety net for the owners who have gradually suffered due to their losses amongst the others who are also performing it in various other events, when their work is simply being performed or broadcast without the owner’s prior permission or knowledge. However, the Act doesn't fully reflect the rights directly on to the owner of a musical work, by the way of providing certain very important exemptions where the

infringement must be construed as an innocent. The performance of the literary work, dramatic or musical work or the communication of the public of such work or of a specific sound recording in the course of a bona fide religious ceremony or any official ceremony held by the Central Government or the State Government or any local authority is not considered to be an infringement. With respect to Marriage procession and its associated or added festivities are included in the section of "religious ceremonies" for a clear understanding of the provision and as per the new notifications by the Government, it is clear that IPRS will grant a Free of Cost License (FOC) for such requests. It is said to be fair use if you are using the literary work within an enclosed hall which is meant for the common use of residents in any such residential premises, as a part of this amenities it gets provided the exclusive rights to broadcast and mainly for residents or as a part of the activities of a

non-profitable club or similar organization which is not established or conducted for profit. This is as per the guidelines which are issued by the IPRS. Commercial establishments such as hotels, banquet halls, lawns, etc. They are usually not given the permits to perform the music publicly by any medium without proper licensing and without paying a royalty fee for the usage. The tariff varies for A Class cities such as Mumbai, Delhi/NCR, Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad/Telangana, Goa, Ahmedabad, Pune, Chandigarh, Jaipur, and Udaipur and for other cities it only depends on the hotel's type and it’s luxury level. Although this new notification by the government is welcome to add, the situation is still in a big haze. The Cost-free licenses are provided only for indoor ceremonies, where the provision is turned down when that

wedding’s processions are majorly held outside, with hotels and banquet halls as their prime choices. Moreover, the obligation of obtaining such licenses solely falls on which type of party is the music going to be used in, with either option contradicting the spirit of the recently issued notification. Due to some confusions, a proper clarification was required from the part of the Government which will put the argument to rest once and for all and defining the boundaries of Section 52 with respect of the public performance of the sound recordings and it is set to be issued by the government very soon.
