Crazy Anthem is quite literally the perfect Crazy:B MV and, even more importantly, a perfect Rinne center. I don't think anything else could have possible encapsulated Rinne better. He might seem brash and uncaring but that's all surface-level things, the persona he allows people to see. This MV is very specifically about the version of Rinne he allows himself to be around his friends and loved ones, the kind of person that would do anything for them. Enstars has made it a point to show just how much Rinne is willing to sacrifice for Crazy:B, the lengths he has gone to ensure that his unit can continue to be happy and silly. I couldn't imagine a better MV to showcase that than what we got. Having an entire MV of fun times with Crazy:B? That's the most Rinne thing I've ever heard

Another Noa x Mae edit! These two are just my ultimate OTP—ahhh! This was a quick edit inspired by listening to Sailor Song, and I felt it perfectly matched their vibe. It's a simple edit without too many effects, but I think it captures the mood of the song well. Plus, it's my contribution to Nomae Week. Hope you enjoy it!

Just to clarify, I don't support bestiality or zoophilia in real life. This edit is purely for fun and creative expression, celebrating the fantasy world these characters belong to. Shipping fictional characters is a common and enjoyable part of fandoms, and if it's acceptable for movies like "Beauty and the Beast," then it's also fine for Noa x Mae!

EVERYONE PLZ LOOK AT HER (people who made the fanart: shadow.cipher/instagram, @hannathenarc/twt, hattersarts/tumbler)

It’s like, her character design and personality we get to see in the whole 2 min of the video is more than enough for me to start making head cannons for her.

Plus all the things we see she can do/is/does in the music video?!!!

We first see she has a background as some sort of pirate esk character in a group and has beef with this entire vampire/monster league

We can tell she’s the muscle of the group because we see her demeanor handling one captured enemy, she is the first to jump out of the ship, she seems skilled at quick action and acrobatics, AND SHE DESTROYS A WHOLE BUILDING JUST BY LANDING ON IT, and the obvious fact that she’s bigger than the rest of the clown group.

And it’s like the rest of the group knows what she’s capable of, they know she doesn’t need a parachute to dive 100ft in the air, all of her actions just give us more clarification of why she was put in charge of handling the captured enemy in the start of the video and why it was probably planned for her to jump first out the ship

So much of her personality just shines through in the first min of this mv it’s insane, or maybe I’m just crazy :?

Her character design too?!??

The overalls makes her work feel more”heavy duty” if that makes sense, and the long hair just feels so fitting for her especially when it’s up. AND THE BIG SHARP TEETH W/ THE EYES. IAN YOU DIDNT HAVE TO GO SO CRAZY ON THIS CHARACTER AS YOU DID.<333 Being clown themed just brings her all the way to the top on the character design too.

I remember this one head cannon that I heard from someone, that in that clown universe all female born clowns tend to grow up to be bigger compared to male born clowns, this headconnon is awesome and now I say it’s true

But the eyes and teeth just make her more mysterious and stand out in the group, why do we see her with those features but no one else? Maybe she’s only half clown and those features come from a vampire or other creature?

AND THE VOICE

Maybe Ian’s singing in the mv wasn’t supposed to be the exact representation/voice of BigJ, but it’s too perfect not to be. I just imagine if Big J were to have the voice of anyone it would be Ian because of how well the raspy deep tone singing is done by him. Big J totally embodies his voice perfectly I think. In other things like Worthi’s 15 blows album you can hear more of that absolute monsterish singing that matches Big J perfectly

Anyway idk I just rlly like this character and hope to see more content/ head cannons for her, if ygs have any plz comment them or smth<33

Hi Mark!

It's my 32nd birthday today, and the 10th birthday since my love of Magic began. I love Sphinxes (?Sphonx), expecially my number one commander, Yennett. In that deck, there is nothing that excites me more than resolving a Psychic Battle and mainupulating the top of my library with high MV cards to try and dominate control of the game. It perfectly captures the feeling of being an imperious, arrogant Sphinx who can tell the future!

Do you have any trivia about your own favourite Sphinxes from Magic design, or about the card Psychic Battle specifically?

I think I made Psychic Battle. I have vague memories of it, but it was long ago. I love spell redirection and I think I made this to encourage people to play more expensive cards (and I thought it would be a fun card that added drama).

i saw this pic a bit late but now it’s stuck in my head. there’s probably no special meaning behind it, just some posing that could fit the theme of Everybody’s Waiting since it’s taken on the set of the mv, but i started having Thoughts™️ so… (more under the cut)

i suppose we can all agree this photo is fitting the vibe of the song perfectly. it’s about how everybody’s waiting for them to do something pleasing for the audience, how they wanna see them shine at all times because well, they’re not that small band anymore, they’re certainly more famous and with fame comes pressure. all the phones around them, pretty much shoved on their faces, ready to capture every single detail, is a pretty valid representation of said pressure

now moving from left to right:

both Nace and Kris seem to be cautious about their surroundings. Nace is probably a bit more alert since this is a bit newer to him than the rest of the guys, when Kris looks like he has accepted he’s being seen and he can’t really control it, especially now

there���s a hint of sadness in both their eyes, the result of pressure. but at least they are not alone; Kris has someone to lean on and Nace has a hand to hold on to when it’s getting too much. they’re in this together

the same sadness Nace and Kris carry seems to be following Bojan too. except that Bojan doesn’t even dare to look up anymore because if he does, someone may see through him. he’s tired, defeated, the pressure has taken its toll on him and he doesn’t know what to do. he can only try to shield himself by not looking up and by crossing his arms, a sign that no one’s allowed in but also maybe some sort of hug from him to himself

him being more closed may come in contrast with Kris being more open while battling with emotions, but this way they kinda complete each other. they’re in this together

while Bojan may not be able to look up, Jure is not able to look anywhere at all. this is supposed to be fun - he is supposed to be fun. but he doesn’t feel like that and that’s not something people will like so what’s better than closing up completely?

he’s attempting to hide, no one has to see what’s going on in his head. he doesn’t want anyone to see so he’s not only closing his eyes but is also trying to hide behind Bojan, who admittedly receives a lot more attention than he does. however, even if he’s leaning on his bandmate and friend, he’s aware that this attention is breaking him too, so he’s got his back. they’re in this together

among everything else that make people notice the contrast between Jure and Jan (i.e. the looks: Jure is blond, Jan is dark haired), their reactions to the matter of pressure seem to be a bit different too. Jure is hiding, but Jan is trying not to. this doesn’t necessarily mean that he’s succeeding and he’s dealing with pressure just fine, because there is sadness in his eyes

you could say he’s trying to play it as cool as possible, no one needs to know what’s up. but he also looks cautious. cautious like Nace on the other end of the group picture. and he realises that not everyone can deal with pressure in the same ways so the least he can do is let Jure know he’s there for him by leaning his head against his. they’re in this together

and finally looking at the photo as a whole? they’re certainly on the spotlight, the centre of attention for so many people around them. they’re trapped and can’t escape from the watchful eyes and the pressure is definitely hitting them, each one of them in different ways

but at least they’re close to each other. each of them is trying to make sure the others know that they’re there and not going anywhere. not because they are trapped and can’t escape, but because they’re a group of friends after all and they’ll stand next to each other through good or bad

I always think this song perfectly captures the two of them. It feels like the writers took some of the lyrics and transposed them into the screen using the two characters acting out the lyrics in question.

MY ANALYSIS TAKE ON "RUNNING WILD" MV:

I really like that in the 'Running Wild' Music Video, both Jin and his dog, decided to go places to spent their last time together, despite of the apocalypse. Going to places where is not guarded anymore, like the cinema where they just randomly watch a movie together, a thrift store where they just take and try stuff there since nobody is taking care of the store anymore, I'm assuming SOMEBODY'S LUXURY HOME AND SWIMMING POOL- 😭 (They even go to the beach, for last time sake)

But it doesn't matter anymore, only matters is they enjoy their last moment together. Everyone at the beginning were running for their lives from the apocalypse (which is a valid response-), but Seokjin looks up and stares at the meteors falling from the sky, then looks and his dog, and finally decided to plan the MOST AMAZING TRIP THEY'LL EVER HAD IN THEIR LIFE!

But, this is probably me, almost at the end it seems like Seokjin doesn't want to end. He even rode a car, trying his best escape the meteors (AND SOMEHOW HE SUCCESSED DOING IT??? 😭😭). He refuse to let go, just like the people are, but then he saw a family, cherishing their last moment together, still (SOMEHOW??) avoiding the meteors, but then stop the car to watch the world end, as they treasure their last moment together.

For me , this is a metaphor for for cherishing memories with people you love and care about, even in their last moments. The MV definitely capture the song, in a way, perfectly. Despite me joking about the ABSURDLY of how calm Seokjin is in an apocalypse, the message and story did make their point across. I can say I really like it alot! :) ✨💜💛💜💛💜💛💜✨

Top 20 K-pop songs in 2024 (Part 2, 10-1)

Here's Part 1 (20-11) in case you missed it yesterday. Let's get right down to it!

10. Sad Song by P1Harmony

Easily the best Latin-infused Kpop song since Antifragile. The chorus is crazy addictive, the raps and vocals are stunning and the beat gets you dancing from the very first note.

9. Sticky by Kiss Of Life

I struggled to pick between Midas Touch and this, but at the end of the day, Sticky was my song of the summer. The Afrobeats vibe always works for me and the chorus is among the best of the year.

8. ABCD by Nayeon

What a DIVA! This song really brings me back to the sound of the 2000s and the memories of my childhood. I couldn't not give it a high placement.

7. Run For Roses by NMIXX

Adding country/folk touches to a Kpop song might sound like a weird idea, but I'm so here for it. I hope their future releases stay as surprising as this one.

6. I'm Ready by Chung Ha

She really should stick to this style and sound, cause no one else in the industry can pull it off like her. I would go as far as saying this is the coolest choreography of the year.

5. Love Wins All by IU

No other ballad released this year has reached the soaring heights of this one. It's also one of the best of her career, which is saying a lot. And of course, the music video is an all-timer.

4. Supernova by aespa

I feel like I think about that beat change constantly. And it has so many iconic lines, like the first one or the Body Bang thing. Hell, I might even consider it their new representative song.

3. Déjà Vu by TXT

The best boy group release of the year, without a doubt. Their raspy, desperate vocals perfectly capture the yearning and heartbreak of the lyrics, aided by the emo vibes of the beat.

2. Lost by RM

Right Place, Wrong Person is IMHO the album of the year, and the lead single is the perfect representation of its eclectic brilliance. On top of that, the MV is one of the best things I've ever seen.

1. Smart by Le Sserafim

Back in February I predicted this would be my number one song and here we are. I just love everything about it: the amapiano beat, the lyrics, the vocals, the choreography. Can't wait to see if they'll top it!

THE STORYLINE: the timeloop and who are Halateez

Read how the ATEEZ logo is a representation and fundental key element of the Ateez storyline to find out who are Halateez!

Let's look at the Ateez logo from Fever albums...

Universe A ------- > < ------- Universe Z

It's basically a representation of the two Universes converging, perfectly reflecting the events set in the Fever albums: Ateez moving through Universes with the Cromer.

Talking about the Cromer... the converging "TEE" in the logo itself represents the Cromer, the device they use to travel through the Universes, and that connects the two. The Cromer is an hourglass and therefore has an eight shape, which, reversed is the symbol for "infinte" and "loop".

And what else has an "eight shape" and represents an " infinite timeloop"?

The Möebius strip:

The Möebius strip has been used to explain time travel theories. It works like this: we start at a point A (pinpoint your point A of choice in the image above) and walk towards an opposite point Z (draw your finger to your opposide point Z of choice). Since the two ends of the strip are connected, we can then continue from point Z and find ourselves back at point A. This means, we can infinitely walk from one to the other creating a loop. Since time passes while we walk from point A to Z, point A is in the past (where we start our journey) and point Z is in the future (the destination of our journey), making the Möebius strip a timeloop.

Let's apply it to Ateez story!

We start in Universe A and we end in Universe Z, in Universe A we find Ateez, in Universe Z Halateez. This means that Halateez are Ateez in the future, and Ateez are Halateez in the past.

N.B. Ateez were born as Ateez and we, the fandom, gave the Universe Z Ateez the "Hala Ateez" name to differentiate the two. Now, according to the canon provided through the Diary Version of the Fever and The World albums, we know that Ateez call themselves the Black Pirates (instead of Halateez) in the future to hide their identities.

When Halateez fail to protect the future from Z, the leader of Strictland/Universe Z, and are about to be captured, they go back in time to bring past Ateez in the future to take over them. This time Ateez, instead of becoming Halateez/The Black Pirates, become the Guerrillas, and this is how we have two timelines:

or (more correct and less confusing)

the Ateez > Halateez/Black Pirates timeline

the Ateez > Guerrillas timeline

Since the Möebius strip has two sides, we can give one side to Halateez timeline and the other one to Ateez > Guerrillas. And since the strip has a twist in the middle, that's the point where the two coexist and meet (see Say My Name and Dejavu mvs where Ateez and Halateez meet).

Why is this the only point in time where the two coexist though?

In the first timeline Ateez went from their past (when the group was formed) to their future (when they turn into Halateez/Black Pirates) living the time in between them, and not jumping from point to point. When they as Halateez got hold of the Cromer for the first time and used it to travel through the past they changed this: in the second timeline, Ateez do not walk towards their future anymore, they are brought directly to it through time travel.

Halateez changed their own present time, future and past too, bringing their past selves to their present time/Ateez future: since there's no Ateez in the past anymore because they were brought to the future, they can't live to become Halateez like they did before, and that's why Halateez do not exist anymore in the future, why we don't see them outside of Say My Name or Dejavu. Halateez timeline was replaced by Ateez > Guerrillas timeline and they therefore chased to exist.

So yes, r.i.p Halateez 😔

This timeline distinction is *fundamental * to understand which version of Ateez from which timeline we see in each music video and hear about in each song...

New Romancer 2

Rim’s 2nd album, New Romancer 2 was released on December 5th 2023! This album really shows how greatly Rim and Mao Sasagawa combine, and what they can do when they experiment together. Rim’s new wolfcut looks great and perfectly matches her edgy vibe. I’ve also noticed the general shape of it looks quite similar to Kaf’s hairstyle. I can’t wait to see her new 3D model at her upcoming Sinka live! (edit: this was written before her sinka live) Here's some of my favorite songs from the album in no particular order:

おしえてかみさま

This song grabbed me right away as the intro track. The voice sample captured my attention immediately, and the chords that followed afterwards reeled me in. One of my favorite things about this song is the piano that sounds a lot like the signal when the train crossing gates close due to an incoming train. I love how eerie and psychedelic it feels, but it also makes you want to dance.

生きているより楽しそう

I love how gritty this song is! The guitars and bass are all up in your face, and Rim’s voice complements them in an edgy, angsty fashion. The layering of Rim’s voice in different sections makes this song interesting to listen to! To be honest, I love this kind of sound from Rim the most.

Inner Child

I listened to this song all throughout 2023. The beginning piano and melody are so catchy, I love how there’s a hint of Mao Sasagawa’s voice layered under Rim’s as well. One of my favorite parts is the drum breaks appear only for a few seconds in-between Rim’s voice and the piano. I like how the first half of the song has the piano as the main instrument but then in the second half, the guitar takes over. Then near the end of the song, the piano comes in again to create the last chorus. This song is definitely one of my favorites out of the entire album!

フロム天国

A playful, upbeat song for Rim that’s still full of Mao Sasagawa's guitars. Ema also features in this song! I’ve heard that Rim is a Dustcell fan so I’m sure she’s happy to have Ema featuring in her own album. For a moment, I couldn’t tell which voice was Ema and which was Rim’s. I’d love to hear them sing together more!

Pilgrim

Pilgrim! This song was released over a year ago and currently it’s Rim’s 2nd most viewed music video at 4 million views. I immediately felt nostalgic upon hearing this in the middle of her new songs. Mao Sasagawa creates such a floaty hypnotic feeling with both his instrumentals and Rim's voice. The most memorable part of this song was Mao Sasagawa’s use of choppy voice samples that contrasted greatly against the rest of the song.

Fanfare

For some reason, this song reminds me a little of R Sound Design. It has somewhat of a groovy Jpop vibe! The outro is my favorite part, the piano is so addicting. I think out of all of Rim's new songs on this album this one will be the one I have listened to the most.

Refrain

Unlike in Inner Child where Mao Sasagawa’s voice layered under Rim’s for only a few seconds, his voice is all throughout the song. The melody feels a little lazy and laid-back but as the song goes on the melody becomes increasingly redefined by the constantly changing instrumental. I'm amazed at how quickly Mao Sasagawa can change the atmosphere of a song just by adding a few instruments. As Refrain's lyrics becomes increasingly more pessimistic and frustrated the song does as well. The MV also illustrates the changes in the song really well!

デイネイ

It's edgy but I really feel like rim had fun singing it, it has a snarky, playful vibe. I really like the piano runs in this song, it really differentiates it from the rest of the songs in this album.

Eloim

Definitely Rim’s scariest song so far, I can’t get myself to watch the MV because its too scary. It also marks an experimental change for both Rim and Mao Sasagawa. Unlike Rim’s usual songs, this song’s instrumental is full of dubstep. Rim’s whisper in the back is also very haunting. My favorite parts has to be when the guitars come in and the song builds for the chorus. I also love how Mao Sasagawa eerily trickles the piano notes, its similar to what you would hear in a horror movie. This song is currently Rim’s 4th most viewed MV at 2.4 million views, 3 months after its release. It’s right above Tall Story that she made with Guiano, which has 2.1 million views and was released 2 years ago.

I love Rim's and Joucho's voices together, really putting the haunting feel of their voices together. Out of all the vwp duets, this one really stands out! It's so beautiful and edgy and eerie at the same time. I always feel like both rim and joucho are capable of capturing this mysterious, otherworldly feeling that's outside of reality. They performed this on Music Verse months ago and during the performance they panned Rim's voice to the left ear and Joucho's voice to the right ear and wow did it give me goosebumps.

Rim and Mao Sasagawa also did an interview on the production of this album here, and its a good read of rim's worldview, why they chose to use certain words in Rim's songs and also rim's career. They also touched upon Rim's identity as a virtual singer and how she often doesn't use her 3d model in her music videos. It's nice to get confirmation that this was a deliberate choice by Rim's team and that they've considered how her identity as a vsinger affects how people interact with her music. It's also sad to hear Mao Sasagawa say he's frustrated that people might dismiss Rim's music just because she's a vtuber, wherein he emphasizes because in the past people used to dismiss him because he was a vocaloid producer. However things are different today and he's grateful that vocaloid has broken into the modern Jpop scene. It makes me remember how Kamitsubaki are a rarity in the vtuber scene in terms of how seriously they promote and perform their music. Like Mao Sasagawa, I also hope the attitude towards vtuber music can change.

And in terms of the vtuber scene, it's worth pointing out how different Rim's genre and aesthetics are compared to other vtubers/vsingers. As rim's music and worldview continues to develop, I'm sure she'll continue to stand out and be a unique presence whether its in the virtual or non-virtual music scene.

i’m not 100% sure how to explain this but i was initially drawn to the visual style of kaf’s mvs years ago not only because it’s Very Cool but also because… like as a dissociative person i struggle to recognize myself in the mirror and my connection with my body and surroundings is tenuous at best, this is a longstanding issue for me and my perception of myself has long since warped into some sort of cartoon almost, like i Feel like a 3D model of a person who could not exist when walking around and i often forget that people do not perceive me the same way i look in my head. kaf’s videos perfectly capture that feeling and the disconnect from other people too, she is usually alone and if there’s people in the background they are far away or hard to make out, even in crowds… kaf never interacts w them, she’s a 3D model somehow lonely in a city as if no one can see her. and i’m like yeah that’s how i am everyday of my life
