I‘ve been in this fandom since 2015-16. I‘ve seen the ao3 tag count go from 200(ish) to 11.000. I‘ve read every (good) fanfiction under the andreil tag and then some from other fandom related tags. I‘ve even read bullet point fanfictions here on tumblr bcs I read every (good) fanfiction on ao3 and tumblr, thats how desperate I was. And now I get to see how big this fandom got! We trended on tumblr!!! We are probably getting a rainbow crate special edition!!!! WE ARE GETTING A NEW BOOK!!!!?!!!!?! I am so happy to have seen this fandom grow and still be a part off for such great news!!!

ur girl just watched the little mermaid remake and idc what anyone says it snapped and it was an actually good remake after god knows how long (around 7 years i believe since cinderella was also a good remake that snapped and it came out around 2015-16 ish i think).

Halle Bailey is an undoubted STAR okay and im glad this movie has gotten her more attention and success CUZ ITS DESERVED girlie sang like rent is due girlie sang like the landlord of her sea cave was giving her a hard time and she didnt have enough pearls to pay the bills and rent was DUE. I loved her acting considering the fact that she just debuted her eyes are so pretty she's so pretty her facial expressions were on point the whole movie and she's a true princess and she deserves all the flowers and more.

The underwater animation was a joy to watch and the mermaid tails were so creative it wasnt corny or too fake looking it was fun, colorful, very natural but also very whimsical, it was perfect, i dare say. today is world donkey day apparently, so I was going to draw a lil doodle of mira with her donkey right. so I go 2 google it (have not googled her specific donkey type, the woolly páramo donkey, since I made her possibly, in like, ..2014?? usually I just type in baby donkey for refs, lmao)

and ive gone down a rabbit hole.

this is going to be a Long One.

there's almost NOTHING abt the 'woolly paramo donkey' on the internet. there's a blogsite from 2011 saying "Another endangered species of donkey is the Woolly Paramo Donkey. It can be found in high elevations of up to 3,000 m altitude and the permanent snow line of about 5,000 meters. It can be found in Colombia." which, I assume in 2014, when making Mira, I googled 'endangered donkeys' and this popped up. And I did not look further. until now.

if you google that passage, or anything related to páramo woollies, they just. don't seem to EXIST???! there's one page that copy and pastes the above paragraph word for word, but it was published in 2015, so. it also just scrubbed info from the aforementioned blog that seems to be run by a rando with no...sources or expertise at all....fabulous. okay. kept digging.

this page cites the pictured donkey as a woolly páramo donkey, except, that is in Ireland. not anywhere near páramo! (and sure, exporting animals is a Thing, but...the caption says its a subspecies of the paramo donkeys???!) (and, for the record, were going with the wiki's definition of paramo here: "A narrower term classifies the páramo according to its regional placement in the northern Andes of South America and adjacent southern Central America.") so we're looking for donkeys around there. more on that later.

but for now, The ENGLISH wikipedia page for Páramo (region) does not include ANYTHING about donkeys. which. if it was an endangered species, wouldn't it be notable?? however, the image the first blog uses...IS on wikipedia, and is cited. as being taken in 2007, possibly one of the earliest pics of said donkey type, and was in Chimborazo, Ecuador which iS IN THE PARAMO ECOSYSTEM OKAY WE'RE GETTING SOMEWHERE. RIGHT. THERE'S DONKEYS THERE. I knew that from looking up travel iteraries around Columbia's paramo. what I need to know tho is...ARE THEY A SPECIFIC, ENDANGERED SPECIES/SUBSPECIES/ RARE BREED?! ANYTHING???

The guy who's credited with the photo...unless its a case of the same name (which would be a hell of a coincidence, in this case) has scientific papers out about the paramo region! but...I have to request access to them, and most of them are in spanish, and who knows if they mention donkeys at all or the guy just put pics of them on wikipedia to be nice. like, I know donkeys do live there, but it doesn't seem to be a specific species, more like this is 'a woolly donkey of the paramo region' from the translation of the title of the photo. woolly donkeys can be anywhere!

WELL. the wikipedia photo is used on the ITALIAN WIKIPEDIA PAGE FOR PARAMO. and it lacks info which makes me scream. just calling it a 'woolly paramo donkey' and not elaborating is EVIL is it a reg donkey or NOT

looking into woolly donkeys alone, which I KNOW are a thing, this page cites the miniature woolly variation as rare, saying there are only 400-ish in the US. cool, that's a rare breed, if true. different from being an endangered species, though!!! totally different thing!!! and that linked page is from a breeder with no cited sources, and their last news update was...2019.

the smithsonian estimates miniature donkeys in general to at 10,000-20,000, so 400 of those being woolly seems to be..lowballing the amount of woollies? possibly? seems very low...esp for something with high cuteness appeal that would be a hit at fairs, competitions, or petting zoos. but if true thats at least...a rare breed... which is something...

(there are Poitou donkeys, if nothing else, which are confirmed to be a Thing, woolly, and endangered. quite frankly if I was going to change her to any other donkey, this would be it. its not on the red data list, but it is on the FAO endangered list, which is like. close enough yk?)

back to the paramo donkeys specifically. in my desperation, I asked bing's AI to scrub the web for ANYTHING about them. not that AI is always right, but it is Fast. it said "There is no scientific record of a species known as the “Woolly Paramo Donkey” living in high altitudes or near permanent snow." which...yeah. starting to Doubt it's existence. by this point.

just when I thought 'this thang isn't real, oh god I might have to pick a new donkey for Mira.....' I Found it somewhere unexpected.

a blog post about farmville 2. yeah the old facebook game! why is it here???! the game came out in 2012, so it had to be pulling the name from an earlier source, and was not where the blogs were getting their info (and thank god for that) but...even looking into reputable sources for THAT is hard to find??! its not on the farmville 2 wiki (LMAO) there's other species of donkey on the game, but none matching these low res pics that pop up on random cheatcode blogs when I look for possible sources?

both of these images/img descriptions call it the woolly paramo donkey. and seem to be reasonably well rendered, and can be found across a few other farmville 2 blogs/guides... (the first img being a baby, the scond being adult vers) I can't really imagine boomers who play farmville going to the effort to photoshop fake upgrades in 2012 for farmville 2... but its not on the fan wiki, which usually cite their sources. I am not playing farmville 2 to investigate this further, but its WEIRD!!! esp since farmville does have woolly donkeys, and the above are NOT just colorovers of them! where...where was farmville drawing the "woolly paramo donkey" name from.

anyway, enough about farmville it really isnt THAT important but it blows my mind the name woolly paramo donkey slipped into there somehow. how. who. & its supposedly in a game called 'island paradise' but I couldn't find pictures of it. but its got its own wiki fan page as well...??

so, anyway, back to the actual research, here's a map of where the paramo ecosystem is. and a map from 2018 on a reputable government website regarding donkey populations. (most recent study I could find, unfortunately!) there could very well be an endangered or at least rare subspecies/breed of donkey around there! (by the way, there ARE woolly MONKEYS around the area. surely no one with dyslexia like me read monkeys as donkeys and ran with it right. RIGHT.)

but...there's not one listed under the red data list's website under the name paramo or even any woollies. tbf, the red data website is moreso for wild animals, rather than rare domestic breeds). so I thought hm. okay. time to try something else. I checked for endangered south american donkeys in general. narrowed it down by possible countries. I checked every search engine I have bookmarked, including one that searches for scientific articles/books exclusively. I checked the dang wikipedia list of donkeys. (which, by the way? severely lacking info in general)

NOTHING. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS THE WOOLLY PARAMO DONKEY BREED, EXCEPT CITED ON THOSE RANDOM BLOGS, AND THAT SINGLE WIKIPEDIA PHOTO. unless...the region it would be in would be spanish-speaking.... there MIGHT be websites on it that I can't even read or find because I'm not using the right terms...OOF. I tried a few words for donkey (burro, burra, burrico,) paired with paramo, and I just kept getting a book result. Pedro Páramo by Juan Rulfo. not related at all, sadly, just includes a donkey in the story and the word paramo in the title.

anyway, all of this to say, the breed is most likely not real, or if they are, not documented online. from what I can tell, it seems to just be that woolly donkeys in general are rare, and while they do live in that area, are not proper endangered animals/species if we want to get hung up on semantics. but I'm not changing it for the comic. having her be a (possibly) fake donkey breed is objectively kind of funny, and it was already mentioned in chapter 1!

unless shirogane has decoy DNAs in the event of a break in and that was one of them. oops, all placebo. her mew power comes from, like, the power of belief or whatever. joke joke joke this is not lore its a joke

Hallo Yes I Do. basically theres two versions of mary's songs, and two versions of her music videos.... and it was renamed three times. bear w me yeah? her song was first released on february 1st 2012 on NND, and was titled 想像フォレスト (Souzou Forest / Imagination Forest). this first version of the mv is the one that eng-speaking fans first made subs for, and to this day if you search up for english subs of mary's song, you will find the subs laid over this old version of her mv, and is likely why you, and probably other old kgpr fans, remember her song as 'Imagination Forest':

then, a few months later, her music video was reuploaded on may 19 2012, also on NND. once again, the song was renamed, this time to 空想フォレスト (Kuusou Forest / Fantasy Forest). aside from the title change, her song was also slightly rearranged, and this rearranged version is what was included in the Mekakucity Days album, which was released on august 15 2012.

i think the askblog scene is A LOT more chill these days. a lot more lax and there's sooo much just...Less of everything that it makes things easier to like take in stride at least to me compared to 2012-2014 days where everything was so intense, extreme, and constant

there's still the like ghosts of the same issues that've been present since day one but its like...on a MUCH lesser scale. i honestly think it's pretty good all things considered :) the only thing that makes it rly hard for me compared to past eras is how split the fandom is uhhh app/site-wise (like its very much spread across tiktok, tumblr, twitter, discord, maybe more...idk) and so it feels like im missing out if i dont keep up everywhere LMAO and each location comes with its own issues either population-wise or site/app-wise

having music critic thots abt the weeknd im so so sorry

i saw the weeknd in concert last summer, it was amazing. i really dont like stadium shows usually, but his was killer, he had a cool stage concept (gently mad max-ish cult leader and his dancer-disciples, giant inflatable moon) and he's got the presence to fill up all that space. and ive been listening to him for almost a decade, obviously the music's there. actually the show i was at was where he debuted the trailer for the idol. its out now and i havent watched yet. i thought it looked cool then, but after everything ive heard.....im just really ambivalent.

in the early days, when he was keeping mysterious, no press, no photos, you didnt even know if the weeknd was a band or a guy. just this chilly, atmospheric, sleazy/sexy horror-movie r&b. nothing supernatural. but cruel. the lyrics were all about the worst kind of fuckboy shit, and obviously drugs, and the music really seemed to give proper weight to it. the speaker in the songs was awful, the music was telling you that his actions were violent and terrifying for the women he's hurting and for toxic for himself. if youre a person attracted to men, you know what its like to see how awful a guy can be and still be into him, maybe even BECAUSE of how awful he is. thats a fucking horror movie. those first xo eps are crazy, i still listen to them.

then he goes pop star. i remember the collab w/ ariana grande in 2014 was surprising but it found a perfect, plausible midpoint between their two universes. then he goes full max martin in 2015 with "can't feel my face" and again, bizarre to see this plausible way for the prince of darkness to get to the top 40 via a neo-michael jackson jam with a veiled drug reference as opposed to multiple explicit ones. but it made sense! he danced onstage now! i remember hearing it on the radio when i was picking my cousins up from middle school, that felt surreal.

and he just kept on doing the popstar thing. i dont think the sleaze ever really left, it just receded into the background. killer atmosphere, more pop hooks, a general darkness that felt credible coming from him because of the early stuff, its just lit with neon now. he gets increasingly more conceptual, which i love. i love a concept album. its still about fucked up relationships and now death more generally instead of drugs specifically. cool, great. i've been with him the entire time. that brings us up more-or-less to the present.

im not gonna recap all the shit around the idol, if you want it im sure theres an article or youtube video thatll do a better job than i can. ill just summarize my own thoughts: it feels like the sleaze is back, maybe some of the horror, but also Glamour. johnny depp's supermodel daughter has cum on her face. we're seeing headlines about how gross the sex scenes are. look how Glamorous this is. classic showbiz trick of using a cautionary tale about gross men preying on women to just....create images and narratives about gross men preying on women. this might be the place i cant follow him. i cant rule out watching it, i am a habitual hater and i might be in the mood to hate soon. but its making me think about the way we use glamour and beauty in entertainment. it cant be a default, it has an effect on the story.

it looks like s1 is the most nonchronological out of all the seasons- dark cupid is said to take place on valentines day, later in the season theres a couple (retconned) references to may, and santa claws takes place on xmas eve. i'm choosing to ignore it because idk how to make it make sense, and pretending everything takes place early in the school year, september-october ish

adrien turns 14 in the bubbler in s1, and marinette turns 14 in befana which is in s2. theres rlly nothing in s2 to tell when it takes place.

in chat noir in s3 rose + ladybug say it's st. athansius day which is on may 2nd, another thing i am ignoring because it doesnt make sense.

christmaster is the middle of s3 and thats when christmas is (and when theyre 1/3ish of the way thru the school year) HOWEVER. im on the timeline section of the wiki rn and apparently three kings day is on january 6th. which means EITHER 35 episodes and a movie took place between december 25th and january 6th (funniest option), OR the three kings day episode should really chronologically be in like . season 3. or very early season 4 (option i'll believe for my sanity), OR that the writers just really didnt think that hard about it (option that is probably the actual reason)

multiplication says that hawkmoth disappeared for a couple weeks, so everything btwn christmaster & pre-multiplication took place from december 25-probably sometime in may, which i know bc in the kwamis choice (transmission/deflagration) its been 286 days/9mo 12d since adrien came to school. french 2015-16 school year started sept 1 meaning it is currently june 13, 2016.

the 2015-16 french school year ended on july 5 and adoration took place 2 weeks before the end of the school year which would be june 21. im guessing s6 is going to take place in the 2016-17 school year so that means the next 10 episodes will take place in the last 2 weeks of school

They changed the art on the blue eyes and if i were ever to get i have to buy from people selling it. So i was looking at the cards for the heck of it, not actually thinking of buying any cause i love yu gi oh but i am not spending 1000+ dollars on a singke card but then i came across 3 blue eyes and polymerzation and blue eyes ultimate dragon all for roughly 18 dollars. And that is the worse cause now something i want is there at a price that is almost obtainable for me if i could sell my art. So i do commissions and have a red bubble which i have a post about from a while ago. I have a lot goncharov and greek mythology inspired peices and i am always willing to add more. I am absolutely dying anon, I’m so sorry. Mobile didn’t display this message at all, but I mean if you’re still interested... I think this is about right. I love Nyssa so very much, and in the end I honestly just wanted to see her more. I also just feel like she was constantly being sold short and being used as a toy by the writers, especially by the end (but honestly, in my personal opinion, most if not all of the characters were just ‘bonuses’ on the show and Oliver got main character syndromed so very hard. But thats another post)

There are a lot of reasons I really love Nyssara, some of them personal. The first time I watched Arrow, in like 2015-ish, it was a big deal to me (unfortunately, for a lot of reasons i never made it to the end of season 2 and never really got into the fandom back then, just personal mental stuff in general). My heart literally stopped when I saw their kiss. Like, I knew i was into women, but seeing two women kiss for the first time was. Yeah. Honestly, for that reason alone Nyssara will always have a special place in my heart.

I also adore them as a couple as they were (this will make sense later, I hope). Sara really transformed who Nyssa was as a person, and who she could become. I think they are very cute and sweet together. HOWEVER-- I feel like ultimately they did have to break up and be apart to grow into “better” people. I just fully believe that sometimes, the people we love can’t be there for us forever, and they might be (not purposefully, obviously) hindering our growth. I love them together as they were and absolutely love fic of them together, but to grow and become the people they wanted and needed to become, IMO, they had to break up and move on from each other. They were great together, but still had a lot of growing and evolving to do that imo they couldn’t really achieve together.
