Is anyone else experiencing mobile ads that are unmuted & start playing audio as soon as they come on your feed?
I keep hitting the mute button, but each ad I get still shows as unmuted & starts playing whatever music/audio it has in it. I'm almost positive I remember being able to mute one ad, then all other ads that pop up on my feed were muted, too. That no longer seems to be the case.
I wonder if this is a glitch or intentional. Somehow I have the feeling it's the latter, and if that's the case, that's scummy.
I'm less concerned about the minor inconvenience of having to lower/raise my volume whenever I want to watch a video then reminding myself to lower my volume again so I don't get jump scared by an ad later, & more concerned that it is an ad that is automatically unmuted & starts playing whenever it shows up on my feed.
I should have the option to keep my Tumblr browsing experience silent without having to lower my phone's volume all the way down. If I want to hear something play on my feed, I should have to unmute it myself vs. having it be unmuted for me unexpectedly.
Come to think of it, I feel like since I've started experiencing this issue, I've noticed more ads on my feed. Maybe I'm noticing them more bc now they have audio and catch my attention more often, or it could also be that they've just added more ads recently in addition to making all ads play sound whether you muted the previous ad or not.

hi the wip for this was absolutely not supposed to blow up. why does that have 1k notes. horrifying. anyways!!!! it’s update time baby!!!! 64 new assets this time around!
so that’s what the caption was supposed to be. this update was already pretty damn big and took a ton of time to make!!! and i was finally done!! but then my hand slipped and now we’re at 143 new assets. super sorry for the delay! That Was Not Supposed To Happen.
i’ll go more indepth below the cut, but this update encompasses all menu/profile art for both isat and sasasaap, battle portraits for sasasaap, every single pixel icon in isat (to my knowledge anyways), the dialogue skipping animations, and a few miscellaneous additions.
also i spent too much time on these to put them below the cut so Please God Look At My Icon Resprites I Spent 16 Hours On Them. enjoy!

okay first things first. why the hell is this batch 143 assets. so. i HEAVILY underestimated how many times the menu drawings are used in the games. even removing all of the custom art, it’s still ≈30-40 variations! that’s a lot! and once i finally finished everything, i got Posting Anxiety and somehow convinced myself that attempting Animation And Pixel Art (two things i haven’t done in YEARS) would be easier than writing a normal post. so here we are.
the custom art here is pretty much par for the course at this point. extra menu art for bonnie, extra expressions for the party in act 5, we’ve done this enough times that it’s expected. i am aware that bonnie’s custom menu art gets completely covered by the ui. i kept it in because it’s really funny (and also i didn’t feel like extending the sprite (but then the sasasaap version forced me to extend the sprite anyways so Whartever)).
once again, provided a spritesheet for sasasaap’s battle portraits! i do intend to cover both games, it’s just a slightly lower priority atm. unlike isat though, i’ve got Less (read “No”) experience with sasasaap, so there might be more issues with those assets?? apologies if there are, i’ll try to fix any issues that come up!
the Miscellaneous Additions i mentioned above are the sprites used on the teleport map and the loading screen, which is just a tiny version of the skipping animation. they were pretty small, so i figured i might as well get them out of the way!
not actually much to say about the 75 icons surprisingly! i haven’t done pixel art in about 5 years?? and that’s a Travesty actually these were super fun to make. i did make mockups for the overworld sprites earlier, but they aren’t Officially part of the redraws (yet) so they’re getting posted seperately
and also!! some exciting news!! this project might actually become a Proper Published Mod pretty soon!! i’ve been in contact with someone who’s willing to help me get everything set up, and i’ll be getting a Usable Computer around the end of the year!!!! it’ll still be at least a month before it’s up (i’d like to get the enemy art finished beforehand wauaua) but!!! still exciting!

I haven’t known how to make this announcement for several months, but here we are; obviously, anyone who ratposts regularly will have inevitable Rat Turnover, because rats only live 2-3 years. Still, I always feel like the rug has been pulled out from under me when I lose one of these amazing friends.

Patch was a very special boy who was dear to my heart; we adopted him & his brother/father/unclear but related rat friend Bear (B-man) after they were passed over and made fun of due to, well, their uncharacteristic Hugeness (these guys were more guinea pig sized than rat sized - Bear got weighed at 2.9 pounds, and his vet wasn’t concerned about him being overweight!). Patch was honestly a huge jerk as a baby, but he grew into a kind & gentle rat that was always the first to welcome new additions & give them many kisses. After almost three wonderful years, Patch just got too old to go on; he developed hind leg degeneration, which is common in older male rats, which quickly progressed until he lost use of his back legs. That combined with dementia-like symptoms where he frequently became confused and scared without warning led us & our vet to decide that it was time to let him go. I haven’t stopped missing him since, and I doubt that I ever will. There could be nobody better to binge horror with, kiss my hands when I’m feeling down, or sit and boggle with me because he just liked anything we did together. Rest easy, sweet boy. Thank you to everyone who loved and appreciated him during my updates of his life.

The devs really fucked up this update which could have been really cool and fun for everyone, but no, they have to cater to the whales who spend thousands of dollars on every single thing that gets added ffs. For those who don't know, the devs added a TEMPORARY LIMITED TIME secondary moon to Earth's atmosphere, but I can only assume they fucked up the scaling of it because it's TOO FUCKING SMALL (and dim) TO BE SEEN WITH THE NAKED EYE, AND EVEN STANDARD TELESCOPES WON'T BE ABLE TO SEE IT, YOU NEED PROFESSIONAL GRADE TELESCOPES APPARENTLY.

The latest Developers Discussion has arrived~ Today, we'll be introducing the optimizations that will be released in Version 4.8. To improve your gaming experience, we've added some new features and updated existing systems, so let's check them out!
In addition, following the official launch of the new gameplay mode "Imaginarium Theater," we are also continuing to monitor Travelers' feedback.
The initial intention behind the design of "Imaginarium Theater" was to provide Travelers with new and diverse combat experiences through the introduction of new scenarios. However, there are indeed various shortcomings in the current gameplay, particularly in the lack of sufficient positive feedback for different party lineups during battles. Therefore, in the upcoming adjustments, we will continue to focus on elemental reactions and consider designing more strategically powerful and user-friendly mechanisms for everyone to consider.
Furthermore, regarding the issue raised by many Travelers about "the randomness of character acquisition," a mechanic to "push specific characters" has already been implemented. However, as the effect of the mechanic remains at a subtle level, the actual results are not ideal. In future iterations, we will also optimize the method of obtaining characters, such as providing multiple options for players to choose from in certain instances of character acquisition.
Optimizations for "Imaginarium Theater" are currently under development and will continue to be implemented in subsequent updates. We hope that these changes will provide Travelers with a better gameplay experience. We sincerely appreciate everyone's constructive feedback.

For a while now I've been looking for a setting in FFXIV and I've finally found it. It's not NEW, but I don't think it's commonly known either.
I wanted the setting that changes the player's name color in chat, according to their role. For example, if they are tank, their name would be blue, if they are healer, their name would be green, and if they are DPS, their name would be red.
At first I thought it was this ⤵️

The "Apply colors according to role." check mark option. But what that does, is this;

It may be a bit difficult to tell here because I tried to edit names in the screenshot (attempting to be considerate of people). It's really hard to see the ONE tank in my Alliance (B). But that option color codes the names of players above their head, in your party. And It doesn't effect other players in your alliance. (I have my alliance name plates set to a color very similar to that green apparently... I might change it.)
After learning this (literally today), I went searching again and found the real thing. It's this ⤵️

Found in Character Configuration > Log Window Settings > Button at the top right that says "Name Display Settings"
It'll open a new window called "Chat Log Name Display Settings".
I feel like this is rather hidden tbh 😅. But I was going over this topic with a couple friends in Discord and honestly this find is nice. We're all going to be using it 👌🏻
You can mess with the settings and apply them, and view how they'll look real time at the bottom with the small chat 'example' they provide.

The latest patch is actually surprisingly good, like sure they buffed the Splattershot but it's fine, it's not a buff that's gonna break shit.
A Booyah Bomb buff is absolutely wild tho, making it faster to fire it is crazy and I've immediately noticed the speed when trying out the new patch. The developers are paying attention to the fast paced nature of Splatoon 3 and making changes to make stuff flow better.
Can't believe they did a good patch that everyone can agree is solid. Hope it continues.
Please... don't let the meta turn into Splatoon 2's.. please Nintendo...
