if a condom broke during a one-night stand, Leon would absolutely be a dad basically only in name. maybe the woman gives their kid his last name, maybe she doesn't. but Leon is just a monthly check that comes in and also that guy who shows up on birthdays and maybe holidays when the kid is younger. like, don't get me wrong, it's a big check, and his kid never wants for anything and is fully taken care of, but the kid just doesn't have a real, actual dad in their life. and then Leon pretty much gives up come middle school when it's clear his kid wants nothing to do with him.

I think he would want to do more and be more, but his job and his life literally do not allow for him to do that. not only does it not give him the time to spare or the predictability to be dependable, but he's also staunchly unwilling to rope some chick and their innocent child into the nightmare hellscape that is his life. he'd rather have his kid know next to nothing about him and resent him for it than expose his kid to the horrors of bioterrorism.

if Leon was to accidentally impregnate a girlfriend, he'd be a bit more hands-on -- because it's not like any girlfriend would be completely oblivious to what he actually does for a living. but he'd be a constant source of frustration and disappointment in a family setting. in some ways, this is worse than the one-night stand kid, because there's no pretense or broken promises with the one-night stand kid. one-night stand kid knows that their dad isn't going to be around, doesn't expect him to be around, and never asks him for anything as a result.

an accidental kid with a girlfriend is constantly going to get flaked on -- and not on purpose, but just due to the reality that is Leon's life. Leon's going to do his best to try to be an active part of this kid's life, and it's going to blow up in everyone's faces. he'll have to break promises and go back on his word constantly, which will piss off his babymama because he'll always be pushing shit back onto her to pick up the pieces when he can't follow through with his responsibilities.

because, like. he still wouldn't live with them. he'd still be at a distance from them. he'd still view his family as just a part of his life and not something that exists at the centerpoint of it, which sucks and makes everything harder.

if Leon was somehow in a position to deliberately plan to have a child, that's a completely different ballgame. all of the bullshit about his life would be hashed out ahead of time with his girlfriend/wife, and contingency plans would be made in case he suddenly got called away for xyz reason. this kid would be programmed from a very early age to see their dad's erratic schedule as normal and expect him to disappear for stretches at a time because he has a Very Important Job.

and because there's a baseline of expectation already set and plans in place for backup, I see this going so much more smoothly. everything exists within reason and expectation, and this is the version of dad Leon who actually has a good relationship with his kid. he may not be around all the time, but when he is around, he's genuinely invested in his kid's life and achievements and wants to hear about their day and gets involved with their interests and shit. he knows who his kid's friends are -- maybe not well, but knows them decently enough.

in fact, Leon planning out having a kid and then actually going through with it might just be the best thing for his mental health. it gives him something to come home to and something to keep fighting for. that kid would be a constant source of hope for him to draw on at any point, no matter where he's at or what he's doing.

No honestly I’m a Beth girl through and through but it’s 100% John’s fault for like you said enticing enough fear in both of them that they felt they couldn’t go to him. I do imagine Beth thought at least John would’ve ended up sending Rip away or at worst killing him. Sure; he was a good fit for the ranch but he had no where else to go and no one would be looking for him. As much as I like the show I do know John is both the main character and the villain at the same time. I think he’s quite interesting because while he does what he thinks is right for his family and the ranch, his methods are totally flawed and he goes about things the wrong way. He feeds of off of his children’s trauma and darkness in order to keep the place going. I wonder how the rest of the series will go without him being in the picture tbh.

I love Beth so much too aaahhh if I could write with a Beth my whole soul would be soothed lol!! sometimes I feel like the writing has gotten a bit lax on the show with just making Beth and Jamie so intensely vindictive towards one another that’s it’s almost become the primary personality trait for both of them and the rest of their personality has fallen to the wayside. their beginning intensity was so intriguing and I thought well crafted.

They absolutely gave the “middle siblings” energy I love and live for in life lol. I feel like Beth and Jamie have a weird chemistry with one another and I’m telling you if they teamed up to take down Market Equities or any of the bad guys they’d be unstoppable. Beth is cutthroat and more or less fearless, hence “I’m the bigger bear” quote and Jamie is empathetic in a very witty manner but knows how to make use of his seemingly timid nature to his benefit and advantage. I think they both know how to pull their punches when it’s necessary and I think that’s why together they’d be such a powerhouse for the Yellowstone.

but I totally agree, I think Beth and Jamie both knew that Rip was a runaway kid with nobody out there to search for him I think John even mentions it in one of the flashback eps, but I think they both probably though oh yeah our dad will for sure kill this kid and have no remorse for it. Given the fact he tried to force Kayce to take Monica to the clinic for an abortion herself and when he refused literally gave his own son a brand I think John has- or maybe had no qualms about sacrificing his children for the assumed betterment of the ranch for sure!

I do love the show but yeah I’m on your page John is for sure the villain and that’s the cool thing about him as a protagonist because so many people are used to protagonist being the perceived “good guys” and the Duttons are not that, lmao, and I love it! I think John’s ego is intrinsically tied to the “worth” of the land and his children are in fact offerings to that success. Gosh John realy traumatized all his children and when faced with that reality he actively works to tear them down and make them feel worse for calling him on his toxicity. I’m super curious how it’ll end without him there too, I’m curious how the writing will go or make up for his lack of presence and part of me is worried it’ll be a bit phoned in, but I mean I think that’s normal worries for most media these days because once you really like something anything below what you’ve come to expect probably feels like an insult. Modern AU: I don't generally do these so this one I have to think about harder. I could see him being a professional weightlifter. Lifting is something he starts younger, but in his mid-to-late 20s he also gets into mixed martial arts and wrestling as a hobby, and everyone is grateful he started late, because he is a MONSTER, and would be even worse if he had started training in adolescence.

-Does side gigs as a bouncer. It's potentially how you meet him; you either work at a place he's been hired at, or maybe you frequent the locale.

-Later in life he reconnects with Inuarashi and the two of them are looked up to as heads of their community in their town of Zou. They show up to all the small local elections and represent the neighbors who may not be able to stand up for themselves as easily and stuff. /end Modern AU

Sexuality: Tbh, being bi/pan, I HC most characters as swinging both ways to various degrees if it's not explicitly stated in canon. We can't say for sure how Mink culture is with regards to gender/sexuality. There's clearly going to be author biases: Nekomamushi remarks to Bepo, when Bepo states he will defend his home too, "Well, ya talk like a man..."* (depending on the translation you're reading, but it's along those lines) so that could imply a patriarchal structure of some sort.

However, bio/zoology is a special interest of mine, and animals function in vastly different ways than humans w/r/t gender. We can't even say they have "gender roles" because those apply to human social constructs. Minks may have the secondary sex characteristics of humans, but they also display behaviors typical of their animal species. So I can see their perceptions on that sort of thing being far more liberal. Every species is going to have its own tendencies--say, hyena minks tending to have their women taking dominant social role, like with real life hyenas--so as a whole, they don't worry about it so much.

That part got long, sorry. Anyway, as for Nekomamushi... I think he ultimately wouldn't care what his partner was gender-wise. He would like someone he can be his unapologetic, boisterous self with. A friend before a lover. I could even see him skewing toward demisexual.

Bedroom Preferences: Usually prefers to top/take the lead with things. Doesn't like being told what to do, but can come around to seeing the fun in playing a subby role now and then if he's properly convinced, but he has to be in the mood for it.

Kinks: -He can do gentle, and he does enjoy gentle at times, but if he had to choose, most of the time he would rather be feral about it. Pinning you down, holding you still while he takes what he wants, scratching, breeding, etc. He's a warrior, he likes for sex to be heavy physical activity, he wants to be tired by the end. This can be an issue with the size/power difference, but so long as you mind your limits and keep a safe word/signal handy, you can make it work.

But during a heat cycle, he'll try to keep it inside. Doesn't matter if you can't get pregnant due to anatomy or birth control, he can't help it. -High sex. Occasionally will switch out his usual herbs for something that gives a stronger high rather than just a buzz. Prefers to do this one with his partner, if they don't also smoke, he won't be as inclined.

-Likes when you're rough with him too, by the way! Likes his hair and fur being pulled, being bit and scratched... But again depending on the power difference, like... unless you are a fighter, you just might not be able to pull hard enough on his fur for it to feel good, or even scratch through his pelt... but in that case he still thinks it's cute you try.

-Reverse Monsterfucker. (bangs fists on table) like I said before. He gets a thrill out of fucking a human--it's not necessarily taboo, just almost unheard of, and that's exciting for him. Also thinks it's so hot that you're into him and that you're into the same things. Has a high sex drive and loves if his partner is the same way. Something about a human fucking "like a Mink" makes his brain go brrr, he comments on it all the time at first. "So needy, my little kitten's more animal than most Minks, aren't they?"

-Corruption. After fucking him the first time it's over. Sex with people closer to your size just doesn't get you there anymore. Even giant toys don't do help. You need it how he gives it to you, and when he finds that out he's ENRAPTURED. It really gets him going knowing he's made you kind of addicted. He's a touch self-conscious about how strongly he can get off to that thought, so he doesn't talk about it unless it's during sex with dirty talk.

It's a set-up, Okamura is gonna die, and I assume the Thieves will be blamed and the whole thing will start unraveling.

If they had just not set up that fucking Phansite, none of this would have happened. So I'm blaming Mishima, personally.

Morgana has the same vision/dream about a shadow self in Mementos? Which I took initially as something that was Actively Happening, but it seems to be his origin actually. So Morgana is... some kind of product of the shared cognition of the world?

Later, he just happens to ask Reverie about the Phantom Thieves' methods of affecting changes in people, and the physical representation of desire in the form of a "heart" and Maruki is off to the fucking races.

THIS ALL SEEMS VERY BAD HONESTLY. Like even if the most well-meaning motherfucker in the world got ahold of some means to affecting the collective unconsciousness on that scale, P5R is turning into a practical lesson on why doing that just really isn't the play. It's the recurring question of the whole game and with Okamura, signs are pointing to "yeah don't fucking mess with people's internal cognition, fuckface"

Next rank up, Maruki is excited about being nearly finished with his paper so he takes Reverie out to that one fancy buffet. Midway through, one of Maruki's college friends joins in to congratulate him on the paper and to shoot the shit, and:

Next link, I get to know who the fuck Rumi is. Rumi was apparently the love of Maruki's life. They were going to get married and life was peaches and cream until there was a burglary. Rumi was hurt in the process, but worse, the attack caused her to have a mental breakdown. The aftershocks of it ended their relationship, and Maruki is transparently still deeply affected by it.

This is the cusp of his motivation, to learn a way to not only heal people of their emotional pains but to prevent that pain if he can.

Fast summary of events: Kasumi is trying to improve her gymnastics but her performance is still not up to the standards of Shujin, and her honor student status is threatened. If she doesn't bring home a gold medal, she's going to lose her special privileges, and everyone is super disappointed in her.

The school faculty tells her this apparently to motivate her, but Maruki just happens to be included in the meetings (is he her therapist since the loss of her sister?) and he sternly tells everyone yo, this much pressure on her might make her crack more, not help her.

Reverie and Morgana find one of her lucky charms on the floor and go to meet up with her at the new stadium to return it.

OH GODDAMMIT I DIDN'T CAP EVERY LINE BC I DIDN'T REALIZE WHAT WAS ABOUT TO POP OFF.

BASiCALLY: KASUMI HAS THE META NAV AND THERE IS A PALACE HERE.

She mentioned her own name, Kasumi Yoshizawa. But she also mentioned Dr. Maruki's name. And she corrected some passerbys that this place was a "stadium, not a research lab."

So the keywords here are either "Kasumi, Stadium, Lab" or "Maruki, Stadium, Lab." I am leaning towards the latter because inside the beautiful Frank Gehry Designs A Hospital building, there are pages from what I assume is Maruki's research paper.

like I see a lot of fandom headcanoning Leon as such a devoted and hands-on dad, but Sherry Birkin would like to have a fucking word with you about that LMAO

if a condom broke during a one-night stand, Leon would absolutely be a dad basically only in name. maybe the woman gives their kid his last name, maybe she doesn't. but Leon is just a monthly check that comes in and also that guy who shows up on birthdays and maybe holidays when the kid is younger. like, don't get me wrong, it's a big check, and his kid never wants for anything and is fully taken care of, but the kid just doesn't have a real, actual dad in their life. and then Leon pretty much gives up come middle school when it's clear his kid wants nothing to do with him.

I think he would want to do more and be more, but his job and his life literally do not allow for him to do that. not only does it not give him the time to spare or the predictability to be dependable, but he's also staunchly unwilling to rope some chick and their innocent child into the nightmare hellscape that is his life. he'd rather have his kid know next to nothing about him and resent him for it than expose his kid to the horrors of bioterrorism.

if Leon was to accidentally impregnate a girlfriend, he'd be a bit more hands-on -- because it's not like any girlfriend would be completely oblivious to what he actually does for a living. but he'd be a constant source of frustration and disappointment in a family setting. in some ways, this is worse than the one-night stand kid, because there's no pretense or broken promises with the one-night stand kid. one-night stand kid knows that their dad isn't going to be around, doesn't expect him to be around, and never asks him for anything as a result.

an accidental kid with a girlfriend is constantly going to get flaked on -- and not on purpose, but just due to the reality that is Leon's life. Leon's going to do his best to try to be an active part of this kid's life, and it's going to blow up in everyone's faces. he'll have to break promises and go back on his word constantly, which will piss off his babymama because he'll always be pushing shit back onto her to pick up the pieces when he can't follow through with his responsibilities.

because, like. he still wouldn't live with them. he'd still be at a distance from them. he'd still view his family as just a part of his life and not something that exists at the centerpoint of it, which sucks and makes everything harder.

if Leon was somehow in a position to deliberately plan to have a child, that's a completely different ballgame. all of the bullshit about his life would be hashed out ahead of time with his girlfriend/wife, and contingency plans would be made in case he suddenly got called away for xyz reason. this kid would be programmed from a very early age to see their dad's erratic schedule as normal and expect him to disappear for stretches at a time because he has a Very Important Job.

and because there's a baseline of expectation already set and plans in place for backup, I see this going so much more smoothly. everything exists within reason and expectation, and this is the version of dad Leon who actually has a good relationship with his kid. he may not be around all the time, but when he is around, he's genuinely invested in his kid's life and achievements and wants to hear about their day and gets involved with their interests and shit. he knows who his kid's friends are -- maybe not well, but knows them decently enough.

in fact, Leon planning out having a kid and then actually going through with it might just be the best thing for his mental health. it gives him something to come home to and something to keep fighting for. that kid would be a constant source of hope for him to draw on at any point, no matter where he's at or what he's doing.

Nolan -

Break: What would cause your OC to break down completely? What do they look like when that happens? Has anyone ever seen them at their lowest?

Nolan is, a very tough nut to crack in most senses. Such as like the lab/company he is stuck with often studies with the human psyche and artificial beings. He has been in a position of what counts under psychological torture a handful of times and still stood strong, at least with keeping appearance (to say he'd been completely unaffected would be wrong)

He's been in the heat of battle many a time and at one point had to be a key leader of some. He's learned to keep a level head react less strongly in order to survive. But I do think being forced to watch as those he's closest to (i.e Sterling, Cait, etc.) come to serious harm or worse, would break him.

He hasn't really been in a position to completely break down yet, but I can kinda imagine what his expression would be? Like, absolutely full of devastation with a haunted, hollow look in his eyes. The kind of way one might get when there's a total gut wrenching, stomach dropping, empty pit feeling when something awful happens or intuition of something about to happen? His usual calm anger in most situations now replaced with panicked, anguished pleas and begging. I dunno how to describe it very well atm unfortunately jfdkgs

I might try to draw it at some point possibly.

There'd also only been a few times during a period of adjustment to a whole new universe in which he had felt hopeless at being ripped away from almost all he knew. But this would be more like typical showings of signs depression; hopeless, no interest in anything, struggling with basic care. A few people have seen this from him, but I probably wouldn't say anyone has really seen him at his complete lowest yet. (answer likely to change if i get around to writing more with him)

Kris -

Desire: What's one thing your OC wants more than anything in the world? Are they open with that desire? Why or why not? What would they do to fulfill it?

I want to say it'd likely to have more freedom and to have more exciting things happen in his life. But he wont be very open about it, more likely to have to pry it out of him (if you want any info from him about himself tbh).

He feels like he's unable to express his desires as he grew up in a rich home (most people wouldn't want to hear something like that from someone who grew up rich, cuz y'know, money can resolve most issues for the rich) and fairly uncaring parents (one being emotionally absent and the other caring more for reputation and show-y, wants to know everything but not actually care unless relevant)

In regards to freedom, he's been actively working on it since he started trying to distance himself from his family, trying to make a name for himself but not necessarily in a sense that means to get famous. Working in robotics to keep himself busy, a job that he finds some joy in, something he picked up for himself without the influence of his parents. And he keeps hoping for one day to be more exciting than a project going right, or wrong in an amusing way. (This is likely to be fulfilled sometime if he keeps interacting with Sid (@ace-shenanigans) methinks)

Midnight: What keeps your OC up at night? Do they have nightmares? Fears? Anxieties? What do they do in the small hours of the morning when they should be sleeping?

He does get nightmares sometimes where he gets forced back to being with his mom, and having to be put through beauty pageants again, essentially being a living dress up doll for his mom to fuss over like when he was a kid.

And he's fully aware he acts like a complete jackass to everyone, he just doesn't know (nor really care to fix it usually) how to not be like that. But sometimes it will keep him up for a bit, nervous that one day it'll get him fired from the one place he feels safe to just exist. And when he's unable to sleep at all/stay asleep, he'll usually either be on his computer at home typing away at some coding or he'll drive to work and get started on some small, quick project(s) for a bit with some classical music playing quietly in the background. (On these kind of days, he'll usually look like the living dead for 2-3 days)

Psydon -

Secret: What's one secret your OC never wants anyone to know about them?

Psy technically should be wearing glasses cuz he's nearsighted, but doesn't wear any/keeps his pair hidden away. He doesn't see to much of an issue with this either since a lot of what he does mainly requires him to see things close to him anyway. (He also isn't quite sure why he's cautious/embarrassed about this but he is)

He also isn't super fond of the profession he's basically forced into, as he feels like the things he's learned/learning may come back around to him manipulating others one day.

And this one isn't so much a secret that he never wants anyone to know about per say?? But he does have a crush on both Micha and Ash, that tbh he wont even admit to himself for a while.

Skin: How comfortable is your OC in their skin? Do they grapple with anything that lives inside them—a beast, a curse, a failure, a monster? How do they face the smallest, weakest, most horrible version of themself? Are they able to acknowledge it at all?

It's very hit or miss most days with how comfortable he is with himself. Between the times in which Kris refers to him (and the others, i.e Ash, V0id, etc) as "it" and his coder (an elderly man named Soloman) who originally assigned him as female and will still refer to him as such when he manages to make it in, never really settles right to Psy (and he'd sooner forget about the encounters when they happen).

He also struggles sometimes with the whole, being AI/an Android as it's left him with feeling trapped, almost hidden from the world and unable to really get to experience anything or get to "live" with how his line of work has him busy (basically "new age therapy/therapist") and how the people in charge of him and his case don't actually let him leave the proximity of Skyh Labs all too often.

In the irony of learning about therapy, he doesn't really know how to apply a lot of that knowledge to himself. So he doesn't know how to face another facet of himself outside of being extremely careful on choosing his words, and anything that would be deemed negative or hurtful to others, he bottles up and has an internal existential crisis over it later in the privacy of his own room. He tries his best to not acknowledge it all more often then not.

Hi.. I have come to talk about my Half-Life Einsla AU again. I went on a rant about it last night but I think that it's nonsensical enough but interesting enough to be shared here.

*Usual disclaimer for people finding this out of context: Tesla and Einstein are anime girls from HI3rd. I'm not writing fanfic / aus of real-life dead men please have mercy on me-

I've mentioned some of this before I think, but not the full scope of it.

For the most part, it follows during the same exact time as the HL 1 games, with Gordon Freeman still running around and doing his thing. The main difference is that they're in a different part of the facility than him and are actively trying to escape. They also don't have the luxury of being in HEV suits, nor do they have any knowledge of what was going on in the other areas of the facilities. Gordon plays a semi-important part in the background but it isn't until WAY later that they actually come face to face (that being before he jumps into Xen, but that's for later.)

They've worked in the facilities for a while, and they specialized in creating experimental technology essentially. Tesla occasionally helped with weapons however that wasn't her official role. They did not like their jobs in the slightest. They hated how things were run, and they felt like they were being suffocated in a way. It did not help that the pay was not worth the effort. The irony is that when the Resonance Cascade began they were actually about to leave for another base.

Now for some information that doesn't TECHNICALLY matter but it's hilarious to ME and I wanted to share.

Tesla DOES NOT like Gordon Freeman AT ALL. Einstein doesn't particularly like him, but Tesla has gone on full rants about how she doesn't even understand how he's working there. In her defense, though, she has reasons for it. She doesn't find him professional At All (which is ironic considering how she is), and doesn't understand how he's still hired. He's probably ruined her lunch before. Why? I don't know I just think it'd be funny lmao. Also they've heard the stories of him running through the vents. They don't understand what Kleiner see's in him.

She does have some respect for him, though. He is good at what he does and she'll begrudgingly admit it.

Einstein just finds him slightly annoying tbh.

They were relatively young when they started working at Blak Mesa. They met through Planck, and she helped them get their jobs. However Planck doesn't work there anymore. She's either at a different facility or retired, I'm not sure yet.

100% Would threaten the GMan and beat his ass just by pure audacity alone. They just want to go home they don't care that he's some god-like being. He will let them go home whether he likes it or not.

Now for the actually important stuff. When the Resonance Cascade first began they actually weren't supposed to be there. They had just finished packing their desks and were about to leave when it happened. Einstein was left relatively unscathed (minus some minor bruising/scratches (they would've been worse but Tesla threw herself over her to protect her)) and Tesla made it out with a few cuts/bruises and maybe fewer brain cells. However, some of the others in the room weren't so lucky.

They meet a security guard and help him gather everyone together, and the three go to the nearby guard room to try and call for help. They're unable to contact the surface, or anyone for that matter, and without warning a headcrab teleports into the room. The guard has zero clue what they are and it's at this point they realize something is seriously wrong. After talking to the other few survivors they ultimately decide that they'll be the ones to try to find help while the guard stayed behind to help the others.

Before they leave he gives them the key to one of the guard rooms where they find a map of the facility and guns/ammo. At that point, they start making their way through the facilities. However, their approach is different from Gordons'. Specifically, they avoid conflict as much as humanly possible, and they have to be extremely careful due to not having HEV suits. They do eventually have a run-in with the military however it's a one-time thing and their way of handling it is. Something to say the least.

Going through the facilities was easy at first. They were familiar with most hallways, and they really only encountered the occasional headcrab. I think it would be around this point that Einstein just picks on up and says 'We're adopting this thing' just to annoy Tesla. Yes, it ends up traveling with them on a leash. Yes, it wasn't happy about it. They bond though so it's fine.

They occasionally hear updates through the radios scattered around the base and through other scientists they find, however, it isn't until the military arrives that things get worse. They very quickly realize that the military is not on their side, and at that point on they have to start hiding and using their own skills to survive. Tesla makes hand-made grenades to deal with them in case they can't avoid them, which is effective for the most part.

Occasionally they hear things about Gordon and are amazed by the fact he's survived so long, and are amazed that he's managed to piss off the military so badly. They also learn through scientists that the Lambda team is trying to find a way to fix the disaster so they try to make their way there.

An accident occurs at some point where Einstein is in danger and nearly falls into a bunch of nuclear waste because the floor collapsed in, but Tesla managed to get her and pull her up. The headcrab somehow helps her by the sheer power of I think it'd be funny.

Once they make it up to the surface things get even more difficult. The places to hide are few and far between, and it was only by sheer luck that they managed to get far enough to get to the Lambda lab. This is where they get a glance of Gordon Freeman, but they don't even try to get to him. They figure he'll be fine and go on with their days trying to avoid the alien and military combat.

They end up making it there and they help the other scientists try to get it under control, and eventually Gordon arrives. They help get the portal open and just pray for the best.

I also had ideas for HL2, but I haven't fully finished watching a play through on it so I can't say anything for sure.

TLDR; All of this is stupid and is essentially me giving two insane scientists a gun and sending them on their merry way. They adopt a pet that could kill them and bicker like an old married couple, you know the usual.

been wanting to make another warriors blog for a while but i finally caved after writing up stuff about my new ocs and not knowing where to post it. im just copypasting this directly from an info dump i made so it's not extremely well organised LMAO but here are said OC ideas :]] im probably gonna spend quite a bit of time on this blog just building on them and drawing them tbh. that's the plan anyway

so imagine a cat becomes a medicine cat apprentice, and when they finally go to meet starclan at the moonpool instead of like.. awe, wonder, admiration etc. this idea of all powerful godly ancestors that can apparently predict fate and maybe even control it according to some cats, and watches them constantly.. fucking TERRIFIES this cat. like he is absolutely shitting his pants level afraid and he becomes gradually extremely paranoid about it all. he tries to keep doing the medicine cat stuff but eventually begs his leader to let him just become a warrior to try and get away from it as much as possible. and it helps but not.. a lot? hes still afraid and struggling.

it also turns out he's also had a pretty rough lot in life up til now, which doesnt help bc if these starclan cats control everything why has he suffered so much? what did he do to deserve it? bad things continues to happen and he questions it more and more. he feels like hes watched constantly and even like hes being punished for something he did, even though he doesnt know what his crime actually was. this makes things even worse.

at some point because of all this he runs off maybe? but he misses his family and clan and he also feels watched still no matter where he goes. and maybe something horrible happens to someone he cares for while hes gone and he blames himself for it because he left and thinks starclan decided to hurt his loved ones for it. so he becomes afraid to even leave the clans and doesnt attempt to run away again.

mind you, in the meantime starclan hasnt caused ANY of this. the things that happen are unfortunate coincidences. but he has no idea and after actually seeing what to clan cats basically counts as God Himself™️ hes a wreck. the books always show meeting starclan as a positive experience but i feel like it's something youd need at least some level of willpower for. youd need the right mindset. not just anyone can become a medicine cat and communicate with their ancestors. it's a big deal and some cats ,id think, just wouldnt be able to do it.

hes called whisperingstorm, he has a littermate called bubblingstream. his mother had other litters so he has many siblings but that's the one he knows best and grew up with. he also has an older brother maybe. dovesomething im thinking. bubbling has his own set of issues but im still figuring out how to make that work. another litter in his family is two more kits who are gonna have matching names, this serves to contrast bubbling and whispering who have conflicting names (they have rather different personalities but they also just. dont get along despite bubblings initial efforts to bond with whispering). bubbling as in excitable and upbeat, then when he grew up stream became his suffix bc hes actually rather.. not that basically. yknow how when ppl picture streams they see a calm, gentle stream that some would consider a relaxing visual? like that, as well as their family having a water/weather theme to their names. hes quiet and slow worded, not much to say. compare whispering, something quiet and soft, then when he got older his suffix became storm because of his explosive, high energy and honestly aggressive personality. so not only do they oppose each other in personality, their birth names themselves wouldve better suited them if theyd been swapped around as those are juxtapositions as well. whispering is loud and aggressive, bubbling is quiet and softspoken.

the reason whispering and bubbling dont get along is cause.. well, whispering is a prick, to be blunt. but hes like this as an active attempt to push people away bc of trust issues. he cares a lot about bubbling, he just also thinks anyone being close to him = him inflicting his 'bad luck'/'curse' (see: STARCLAN IS OUT TO GET ME) on others.

eventually it works and bubbling gives up trying to support his brother for his own sake because whispering goes anywhere from mildly mean to downright verbally abusive trying to get bubbling to go away and the guy cant really keep dealing with that. and whispering hates himself for it but he got what he aimed for so.. yeah.

not sure where im going next with this but i want. drama. but not murder. none of them are gonna be murdery. it's a very family issues and trauma and mental health kind of theme i want going on here. yeah someone will probably die bc that's just kinda a given in the clans but not from killing. i can enjoy warriors ocs that go and kill cats for one reason or another but between them and canon i want something different for once, and this is what i want to create to achieve that. plus running off somewhere and coming back to find out, say, a family member died of greencough or something? it's harder to pin a blame on anything material there. as opposed to a cat from a different clan outright killing them in battle or something.
