Welcome to My Collection of Random Thoughts during my nth* rewatch of Good Omens Season 2

Episode 1: Gabriel’s fly lurking in the box when Aziraphale first takes it inside 👀

Crowley’s promise of “two minutes” basically means that he’s been homeless and living in his car for the past 4 years strictly so that he can be within 2 driving minutes of Aziraphale at all times in case his angel needs him I’m not crying you are

So here I think the key word is “fragile,” Crowley knows they are ostensibly safe from their respective sides but that could change at any moment so he’s basically spent the last 4 years in anxiety-ridden terror hovering as close to Aziraphale as he can to try and protect him from heaven, hell, and anyone else that would want to bring him harm after all that business they pulled in season 1 with stopping Armageddon

Episode 2: I just happened to pause the episode while Aziraphale is lying to the angels about his miracle and LOL Michael really outdid himself here (Sheen, not the Archangel)

Gabriel trying to swat flies and almost smashing the repository of every single one of his memories

Episode 3: So I’m trying to find any hints or foreshadowing of the Gabriel Beelzebub thing bc tbh I did kind of feel like it came out of nowhere which is really the only issue I have with them. I found this one scene where Beelzebub almost ?? seems to be concerned about Gabriel ?? But it’s blink and you miss it and there could be lots of other reasons why Beelzebub doesn’t want to fail in locating Gabriel (pressure from/leverage over heaven, etc) so idk

Azirpahale seems lowkey kind of manic this whole scene tho, he’s controlling literally everyone to force Nina and Maggie together and whenever Crowley says anything that pokes holes in Aziraphale’s Magical Jane Austen Ball Fairytale, Aziraphale just straight up denies it. He wants Nina and Maggie to dance and he wants him and Crowley to dance and he refuses to acknowledge anything beyond that.

Is this just Shax insulting Crowley for how much of a nuisance he’s been or a reference to his former status as an angel ???

They’re both completely dismissive of each other when they’re trying to say something important and that’s the main issue they’ve been having this entire season tbh

Episode 6: I think it’s funny that Crowley describes the angels as bees here because in the book, Neil/Terry describe humans the same way. Guess we have more in common than we thought huh?

So the metatron was the one who originally decided Gabriel would be memory wiped and not sent to hell, and he was also the one that decided not to sound an alarm about Gabriel for some reason and said ‘just go find him yourself’ instead. The metatron has definitely got his own agenda and you can bet he doesn’t want Aziraphale up there in heaven because he’s a “leader” and he’s “honest” like that’s exactly what Gabriel was and look where it got him 👀

There’s just something I can’t quite put my finger on about the metatron bringing Aziraphale a coffee from “give me coffee or give me death” and then asking Aziraphale if he’s going to take the coffee he’s giving him…

I have not seen a single person talk about this since s2 came out but Nina literally calls Maggie “angel” because that’s the term of endearment they hear Crowley using for Aziraphale !!!! I’m still going fERAL over this and I can’t believe no one else is eitHER

Something about this part of The Final Fifteen compared to this scene from the first episode is so representative of the entire season. Azirpahale keeps saying “my way or get out” and Crowley finally hits a wall and can follow Aziraphale no further. So he does just that. He goes.

I’m sure a lot of us by now have seen this post that brings up how Aziraphale literally pushes the remains of Crowley into his mouth and swallows and it’s the only thing I see when I watch this now

We still don’t know for certain if Crowley queued up this song to play on their way to the Ritz or if the Bentley started playing it all on its own and it’s driving me insane

One thing about Lilith is that she has a purpose, and that purpose is protecting her kids, and because she's emotionally distant she'll just do things for them instead of with them.

I'm obsessed with Felix. He's such a fun character, just so much personality even though we see next to nothing of him in canon. Same with Devera! They feel the same to me in a lot ways I think.

Lilith is a touchy subject among all the Sorrengail children for sure, but definitely with Mira and Vi because Mira has spent so long trying to keep the peace between the two of them. And (in this world) Mira has been there for Violet in a maternal role a bit, so she sees the choices Lilith makes differently than Vi does and relates to them more, where Violet just sees that it's not what she needs from her mom.

This became a therapy session...somewhere around chapter 10, probably.

Idk if you ever thought about this but how would Husk react if his S/O was super self-conscious about their body? Whether thinking they’re way too skinny or way too fat. I feel like you, as the Husk professional, would know how to answer this because I am the exact opposite of a Husk professional. Much better with Angel Dust tbh.

Oh, trust me, as a certified fatass I have thought about this constantly. How would Husk feel about body types that aren't traditionally attractive?

Thankfully for me, my immediate instinct is that he doesn't care so much - sure, he has some physical preferences, but personality wins over everything else. It's part of why he's not swayed by Angel's initial flirting, I feel. He acknowledges that Angel is physically attractive, but the tryhard flirting was way too much of a turnoff. Conversely, even if he's not immediately drawn to someone's physical appearance, getting to know someone on a deeply personal level will attract him far harder than initial appearance ever could.

Not to say he doesn't see anything attractive in those non-traditional body types, of course. I do headcanon him as liking some squish on a partner for my own personal enjoyment, after all. Especially in the ass department. Husk hates to see you go but he loves watching you leave.

As for self-consciousness... trust me, he knows self-consciousness. I can go with him either being too skinny or overweight; either body type is the result of his awful self-care, especially ever since he lost the bet with Alastor. He drinks too much alcohol, he doesn't eat enough, and what he does eat has no nutritional value whatsoever. Any physical stamina he still has is bolstered by his innate demon powers; his muscles have all atrophied by now. But at the same time, we already know how Husk feels about wallowing alone in self-pity.

"You're not the only one down here who hates their body. Look at what I've done with mine! I got a second body after I destroyed my living one, and now I've gone and fucked this one up too. He had a death count of 25 and the count of 70+ injured. His bombs successfully went off and he even killed himself the exact same way Eric did. I feel bad that he had a severely abusive childhood, his father was an abusive alcoholic and abused him, his mother and even harmed their neighbors in their neighborhood. Everyone was terrified of his father. And his mother is a doctor/nurse or whatever and was treating his victims, when she found out her son was behind the shooting she tried killing herself. MY ATLA LIVE ACTION S1E5 THOUGHTS

EP4 - EP6

I think I’m progressively getting more confused with how they’re structuring this plot. At what point does an adaptation stop being a necessary rearrangement and starts being changed for the sake of change. I don’t actually have the answer to that, but I’m going to keep that in mind moving forward. 

So there’s a lot going on in this episode, with an arc that again spans episodes 5 and 6 (as a guess). It seems the writers are bringing in elements from book 2, which they were doing before, but this time I’m not entirely sure as to why? I’m a little perplexed about it, I guess. Don’t get me wrong, I thought it was a fairly enjoyable watch, but I do think I would sooner rather rewatch the cartoon again before this episode. 

There was a character officially introduced this episode that said some things that I feel directly conflicts with their character in the cartoon, and I’m finding it difficult to reconcile why the writers made this change. 

Lastly, this was the first time in this series where I immediately noticed a parallel between Zuko and Aang, which was always something that Made the original series for me, so I appreciated its inclusion here.

ive looked at some rotations of dum dums model and some of his bodymods are DEFINETLY more just aesthetic than functional.. at LEAST his upper lip rings. Those r trditional piercings. Probably also is chin metal n much of the stuff around his mouth. Again im not technically adept and Idk what the designers were going for, but I'd love to think that also the cored part around his neck, where they've just taken a part around his spine and replaced it w a dent of metal, is fully appearences, just bc its so extreme and interesting. He likes his bodymods he enjoys the process!!!! Perhaps he even enjoys the care that goes into them, bodymods that heavy must require a lot of care.

I dont. think he has tattoos in his final design right? og dumdum had the tats? Though i do love to think that he got tattoos when he was younger but most of them have just gone through being torn apart by his later bodymodifications. Dum dum prolly drives some kinda rly shitty van most of the time, just bc hes usually hanging out w so many people. Big driver in general!!! Standout character design on this show tbh, real feat of just styling and posture. Alda and Rogers are nearly the same height, similar build, and usually wearing one of two of the exact same monochrome outfits, and yet they have completely distinct silhouettes. I bet if you’ve watched this show, all I have to do is say “back of collar flipped up and hands in pockets, surgical cap cocked at an angle” and “hands loose and collar down, surgical cap square like a beanie,” and you know exactly who is who.

I am so supportive of how they kept making Gary Burghoff play the trumpet while, seemingly, forbidding him from taking any lessons or practicing.

yeah season 2 was their best writing, they didn’t add in anything for shock value and made some slight changes from the og which just makes it so good.

i think for the translations it might also be because it sounds weird in our own language since that’s something no one would say like that in real life, but since english isn’t our first language it sounds better in english even tho it might be cringe for english speakers as well if that makes sense? i’ve also done some translations and sometimes i genuinely don’t know how to translate a certain sentence because there’s no way to say it in english with the exact same meaning and it’s always so frustrating knowing people won’t get it

the acting in season 6 wasn’t that great overall imo, ella and mo were great, but for everyone else it was probably their first acting project, so it also makes sense that the acting wasn’t that good. you can tell they’ve all improved tho, and they’ll improve even more with the next seasons!

FFXIV Dawntrail FanFest EU Predictions Bad idea for a Green Mage to gamble against a Corsair

Jobs Okay, so listen. Let's talk about Yoshi-P's T-shirt again. Some of the leading theories seem to be, in no particular order:

a) Green Mage, because Green (& Krile's Letter in 6.5) b) Pictomancer, because Turtle Names (& because it would be cool) c) It's just that the Melee Job shares Ninja gear (& Yoshi-P thinks we're stupid)

And I could see all of these being true but I'm here to bet on something else. Or rather, I bet on the exact same thing:

What if they are all true? What if the Pictomancer-inspired Green Mage IS the Ninja Class? What if the WoL's class we see in the trailer is actually the Mage class? Think about it. He even wears a robe...

Joking aside I actually do think that would be a great idea. (and with great idea I mean I would receive all the good nin glams for my pictomancer/green mage) It would give us a real melee mage! It would be an easy way to shake up the formula even just a little bit and it would also make for a nice Fanfest Surprise (everybody is expecting that the WoL's job is revealed, but actually...)

I will debunk myself, of course that's not actually going to happen, that would be far too cool and we can't have that, not if it goes against lore. They will make up some problem and pretend as if they didn't create it themselves, something like "But NIN gear doesn't have Magic attributes" (you could just write a stat conversion trait for that, i think drk(?) even had something like that back in the day) or "something something Mage Visual Identity" (and everybody hates that everytime you bring it up, read the room yoshi-p, and also the "corsair" wears a robe too and now what)

also i just don't want corsair okay i think "pirate" as a concept for a whole job is boring af, at most it's going to be a reverse rdm bc yoshi-p is certainly not going to base it on gambler like they did in 11 (bc rng is evil)

Alliance Raid I mean we're all expecting Sakaguchi to do the Alliance Raid and I agree, very likely, especially given Yoshi-P's hint ("It's more Final Fantasy than ever") and also 24-mans are more interesting to write for guest writers since the story sections are less fragmented. What is it going to be about though, I could see it being any of the games he made...

A FFX raid series would fit the tropical theme and we don't have that much 10 content anyways, but aesthetically maybe that's a little too close to the rest of the expansion... Then again 10 is big enough, I'm sure they could make it work just fine.

From Yoshi-P's hint I could also see a FF1 raid happening, but I'm not sure that 1 even has enough stuff left that would warrant an alliance quest line... like even just imagining him doing a Matsuno and just copy/pasting Cornelia somewhere, where would they put it? Into one of the Shards? Which other places would we go to and which enemies would we fight that haven't been namedropped somewhere else already? It would likely have to come with a lot of new stuff - but maybe he would love to do that? An official Sakaguchi FF1 revisit?

I'm also feeling FF6 on the wind tbh. Maybe it's just because I'm playing a lot of FF6 music on Theatrhythm though. Sigmascape is so far back at this point that I could see them returning to give 6 a bit of the FFXIV interpretation treatment, especially since Omega basically just copy/pasted the boss designs. Also Valigarmanda is FF6 right?

Then again I could also see him just creating something new too, just write a new story and create new bosses fitting the world... Like what if they just made the Golden City (whatever it turns out to be) the raids? I could see that happening...

i do think valentina is smart and pr perceptive so tbh she's probs aware that edmund isn't exactly her #1 fan but just sort of tries to let it roll off her back and meanwhile she def blames rose for this no question hahaha 'that little ingrate trained him to despise us depsite all that we do for her and her sisters!' but she's like 'well she can still be useful' bc as long as rose is bringing a prince around, valentina can use social convention to pair him off w sonya at every chance (she does the same thing w arthur when she's there) and sonya can work her wiles and seduce him! when the two princes are both there, tho, valentina does def show arthur more deference than edmund bc that's the horse she's betting on if guin falls through hahaha but guin def gets the best of everything. tbh, she doesn't give a flying fig about guin, herself, but she acts like she does bc she cares A LOT abt what guin could do for ~her as cassimir's bride alkjsdkfjsdjkf

edmund thinks valentina is pretty much the worst!!!! I do think he's polite enough to her face, so it is easier for him to sneak around and help out in messing with her, but I'm sure there's times he's just very sarcastic and passive-aggressive.

But he probably also enjoys telling her how much arthur is secretly in love with sonya or something so she can go and bother him about it.
