Note
Not to be the little gremlin obsessed with Chappell Roan BUT… reader thinking Logan is too cool to want a proper relationship with them, so when things get physical they insist things are just “casual” in order to protect themselves from getting hurt. But secretly you’re in love with each other, so honestly, neither of you want things to be casual at all… (mutual pining my beloved) please & thank you!! Love you!
ahh hi hi avo I LOVE this song, and this request, and you - I could so see this being a situation that Logan and reader find themselves in. I had so much fun writing this, I hope you like it! (I added a couple winks to the lyrics as well.) 💖 thank you so much for sending this to me!!!
Tumblr media
casual | variant!logan howlett x f!reader
1.2k | posessive!logan, fwb(???), use of alcohol, mutual pining, references to oral sex and PiV.
It doesn’t matter that your heart flips when you look at him. It’s Logan. It’s just casual.
Tumblr media
It certainly feels like a dream, watching your worlds collide.
The heft of Logan’s palm fitting into your friends as he shakes their hand - the five of you squeezed into your usual booth in the corner of the bar.
You’d say the past couple weeks had seemed that way, as well. A late-night dose of bravery spiraling into something so raw and intense and real, that you feel like you could choke on it.
Even now, there’s heat in your cheeks as your eyes flick his way. Something stirring in your chest at the way his other arm slings across the back of the booth almost possessively.
But like all dreams, there comes a moment where you have to wake up.
Because you know it’s not.
Because you know your feelings aren’t requited. How could they be, when it’s Logan you’re talking about?
A legend.
A lone wolf.
Someone important, someone whose name carries a weight. Who saved the world, from what Wade tells you.
And you’re - you.
So even if you know what he looks like beneath that flannel, know what his mouth feels like when it presses against yours - what he sounds like, when he comes - you know that this is nothing.
It’s casual. A distraction, for both of you.
And if that’s how it has to be, then you’ll do your best to show him you’re cool with it.
You just hadn’t expected this moment to come so soon. It had been a genuine offer, your “you wanna come with?” when the hour rolled around for your weekly trivia night.
Not thinking his head would cock to the side. The look he’d give you - that arched brow, as his fingers splayed out across your bare hip. Still crowded together on your couch, sweat-dewed.
The “sure, sweetheart” that slipped out.
And now you’re introducing him as your friend - that quick history you’ve perfected - rattling off the “you know, Wade from work’s roommate” even though Wade didn’t work at the dealership anymore.
He had made enough of an impression that none of your friends had forgotten.
And you ignore the bitter jolt in your stomach, when all Logan does is hum.
You think you must have assumed right.
He doesn’t correct you.
Tumblr media
Logan quickly solidifies himself as an asset to the team. He gets a lot of the history questions that you’ve always struggled with. A shy quirk of his lips when your friends cheer, and you get swept along with it.
His hand ending up on your thigh along the way. Squeezing, when you chime in. Almost as if forgetting - it’s easy to, when you’re having fun like this.
A low rasp in your ear, when the host takes a break.
“Lemme get you another.”
You can only nod, as he eases out - taking your glass with him.
It only takes a second, before MJ’s hand slaps down on yours.
“That’s Logan?” She hisses - leaning forward, “The one who-”
“Yes.” You cut her off, ignoring the sideways glance her boyfriend gives you.
You never should have told her about that.
Had a hard enough time climbing into your car without thinking about it, yourself - the way he had man-handled you in the passenger seat. Thighs thrown over broad shoulders.
Fingers twined in his hair, as he made you moan in the dark parking garage. Too eager to make it up to your apartment.
She frowns, the words petering out, “But I thought-”
Your teeth worry at your lower lip.
“Yeah. Me too.” You sigh.
MJ knows how much you like him.
Really like him - butterflies, and everything. How it’s been years since you felt this way - slipping from you during that rushed phone call at 6 am the morning after your first night together.
Her eyebrows raise, and it’s a look you know well.
“It’s, you know.” Your hand waves, “It’s casual. It’s-”
It’s easier, this way.
Maybe if you keep repeating it, it won’t hurt as much when he moves on.
The look she shoots you is one of pity, just as a drink is set down in front of you.
Your teeth clicking against each other as the words are swallowed. Forcing a smile as Logan slips back in the booth next to you.
The next round starts a moment after, and it’s a welcome reprieve.
You miss the way his eyes narrow, as yours fix firmly on scorecard in front of you.
But you don’t miss the way his hands stay folded on top of the table, for the rest of the night.
You suppose he must have remembered where he was.
Tumblr media
“You wanna come up?”
He lingers outside your apartment door, hands jammed into his pockets. That look from the bar is back - all dark, narrowed eyes.
A low sound in his throat, close to a scoff.
“That what you want, sweetheart?”
Your eyebrows raise, “Yeah. I do, I mean-, that’s what we usually do, right?”
He’s spent just about every night at your apartment. His things still scattered across your room. A leather jacket slung across the chair that’s tucked against your vanity.
Logan’s lips twist at the edges, eyes dropping.
“Suppose we do.” Those hands slip from his pocket, crossing over his chest, “Back when I thought we knew what we were doing. But now…”
His head shakes. A tick in his jaw.
Your stomach drops.
“What do you mean?”
Logan huffs, “The bar, baby. Is that how you really feel?”
A step closer, until he’s caging you in. Voice dropping, rough and low - near gritted out.
“Does this,” His fingers flick between your chest and his, “feel casual to you?”
Your heartbeat gallops behind your ribs.
“I thought-,” You manage, “Thought that’s what you wanted.”
He’s too close, now. The dip of his head, those eyes burning in their shades of brown and gold.
“Now, why would you think that?”
You swallow, “Because you’re you, and I’m-”
“You’re?” He prompts, but you go silent.
A sigh, when your head dips.
Unable to say it out loud.
“Driving me crazy all night, you know that?” He rasps, “Giving me those looks. Calling me your friend, when we both know your mouth was around my cock this morning.”
A low rumble in his throat, “When I still taste like you.”
Your breath hitches, as his hand thumbs at your jaw, tilting it up.
“Lemme ask you again.” His mouth is close enough now to ghost against yours, “Is that how you really feel?”
Your head shakes.
“Wanna be yours.”
It’s breathed out, just as he kisses you.
His body pressing flush, as your hands twine around his neck. A palm around the back of his neck, pulling him closer as he deepens it.
Desire thrumming to life inside you, washing out the dregs of insecurity that you’ve been carrying this whole time. Melting them away completely with the hungry sweep of his tongue, the way he swallows your soft moan.
There’s a flash of white when he finally leans back, with the curve of his lips.
“Good.”
His hand closes around the knob. A rough twist, as his another arm wraps around your waist.
Walking you backwards, into the dark.
“The let me show you exactly how I feel.”
Tumblr media
thank you so much, again!! 💖

can you see the stars in your dreams (and do they have a lot to say about me) - Part 6
Or: a secret Admirer AU
PART 1 || PART 2 || PART 3 || PART 4 || PART 5
Tumblr media
In the next letter, Eddie makes no comment about their differing opinions. Chrissy knew he wouldn’t. She doesn’t know Eddie, not really, but he’s never seemed like the kind of guy who’d stop talking to someone over such shallow, small differences, no matter how he comes off in his little cafeteria rants.
       Secret Admirer,
You’re enough, just the way you are, brown eyes and all. I bet they’re real pretty. I could look into them for hours, mesmerized by every color differentiation, spend days counting every one of your eye lashes.
Just say the word—I’ll pick you up in my van and we can go to the drive-in and hold hands the whole time. I’ll wear my silver jewelry, and you can wear gold. I bet your hands would look real pretty wrapped up in mine.
       I’ll be a gentleman, sweetheart, I swear.
       Only the best for you.
       Yours,
       Eddie
P.S. Romantic meeting spot. I can’t wait to put this note right next to your heart. Next time maybe I can put my letter in Moby Dick. After all, you’re my white whale, baby, I’m always looking for you.
She likes Eddie, really she does, but the way Steve blushes as he hands the letter to her is ridiculous. The guy’s not exactly smooth, or suave, or any of the things that should leave Steve all hot and bothered.
Still, she dutifully helps him write his reply:
       Eddie —
Maybe someday, we’ll get to go to that movie. When we do, you don’t have to be a gentleman at all—I’m easy, if it’s for you, and it would be such a waste not to make use of all that space in your van.
I don’t have any rings, but if I did, I think I’d want one of yours. That way, whenever I look down at them, I’d be reminded of you.
How was your day? All I want to do is ask and hear your reply.
       Yours, always
       Your Secret Admirer
P.S. I’ll search the seas for you.
“I know he’s your friend, but I just don’t get it,” Chrissy says to Jeff, walking close enough to his side that their shoulders brush. “The guy looks like a mangy poodle, and he’s not exactly Shakespeare.”
Jeff snorts. “Hey, he’s at least a cute mangy poodle,” he replies, bumping their shoulders purposefully this time.
“I guess if you’re into that sort of thing,” she mutters, and somehow, Steve is. It still shocks her, sometimes, when she thinks about it too much.
“The heart wants what it wants,” Jeff says, sounding wise, but when she glances at him, he’s grinning, eyebrows jumping up and down at her like this is all just some joke.
She scoffs, “I just wish what Steve wanted wasn’t leading toward a broken heart.”
Jeff’s expression drops at that, mouth pursing. He’s quiet all the way to Eddie’s locker. She slips Steve’s letter between the slats and keeps walking, only stopping when she realizes Jeff’s no longer beside her. When she turns around, he’s staring at Eddie’s closed locker like it holds the answers to the universe.
“I’m not so sure about that,” he says, finally turning back toward her and catching back up with quick strides.
Chrissy doesn’t respond, at a loss for what to say. She can’t see it, but for all the letters she’s helped write, her and Eddie aren’t friends. She doesn’t know him as well as Jeff, who’s been by his side for years, or even as well as Steve, who watches him every chance he can get.
“Yeah, maybe,” she replies, unwilling to let any hope build, not when it’s Steve’s heart on the line. “Want a ride home?”
“Yeah, thanks,” Jeff replies.
And when he slides into her passenger seat, she feels a little less alone.
The letters keep coming, and Steve keeps blushing and pushing them across the table at her.
       Secret Admirer,
Oh, a flirty one, aren’t you? I like it. But maybe I’m shy, did you ever think about that? Maybe I want to walk you to your door, slide one of my rings on your finger, and give you a little kiss. You can pick the ring, baby—I’ll even resize it to fit you just right.
My days are always brighter when I hear from you. I go to the quarry on Wednesday’s to peddle my wares, but all I want to do is go home and play my guitar (my sweetheart). I’m writing a new song and I really want to get it down by next week’s practice, but I’m stuck on a riff I just can’t get right.
       Do you play any instruments?
       Sincerely,
       Eddie
P.S. You’re going to make me swoon, babygirl.
And Steve keeps responding using Chrissy’s pen and Chrissy’s brain, and his own bleeding heart.
       Eddie —
My mom made me take piano lessons when I was little, but my dad refused to keep paying for them. I didn’t want to at first, but I really liked it. Maybe I’ll brush up my skills so I can play a song for you. Any requests?
Does your band play anywhere? I remember you from the middle school talent show, are you still going by Corroded Coffin? I bet you look hot when you play—I want to see it, someday. Your rings would glint under show lights, hypnotizing the entire audience. Especially me.
Did you figure out your riff? I’m waiting with bated breath.
       Sincerely,
       Your Secret Admirer
P.S. leave this one in The Taming of the Shrew.
She wants to build a cage and lock him inside, or shake him and shake him until he sees what a risk he’s taking. Jeff might not see it, his priorities are different. But her first concern is Steve, always will be Steve, whose heart isn’t the only thing on the line. And she can feel it coming—the moment, inevitably, when this whole thing falls to pieces.
       Secret Admirer,
Have you read this play? It’s not the romantic story you think it is. Since you’re already holding the book, why not check it out? I promise not to look at the checkout card to figure out who you are (I say, unrepentantly lying).
My band actually just got our first gig at the Hideout. It’s next Tuesday, and you should come! I would love to see you in the audience, cheering me on. I’ve been trying to respect your boundaries, but darling, I want to see you. Will you come? Please?
       Thinking of you, always,
       Eddie
Chrissy doesn’t want to stand by and watch Steve Harrington break.
***
Part of Eddie wonders if he won’t get another letter—if she’ll just show up at the Hideout next Tuesday with a smile. Still, when he hasn’t received an answer for a couple days, he checks if anyone’s checked out The Taming of the Shrew, but no, it’s still there, nestled on its shelf in the library, Eddie’s damning letter no longer inside.
He’s starting to wonder if he made a terrible mistake.
It’s happenstance, the way he finds out. He could have just as easily not forgotten his campaign notes. He could have been prepared, and not left all his little sheep moaning and groaning about what amounts to a five minute delay, if he’s quick about it.
He could have, but he didn’t.
Instead, Eddie stands at the end of the hall, transfixed, as he watches Chrissy Cunningham’s distinctive high ponytail sway back and forth as she walks away. From his locker. Where he just saw her slip something in.
She’s well out of sight before Eddie walks up to the looming hunk of metal on shaky legs. It takes three tries to get it open, and there, for all and sundry to see, is an envelope with his name written in a familiar scrawl.
He doesn’t open it.
“What took so long?” Doug gripes as Eddie shuffles back into the room, clutching his notebook to his chest.
Eddie walks slowly to his throne without replying, eyes still unfocused and fixed on the swishing of Chrissy’s hair.
“Are you okay?” Jeff asks.
Eddie shakes the thoughts out of his head, leans back on his throne, and smiles. “Sometimes a quester is besieged on his travels and must defeat a mighty foe before he can return from whence he came.” He says it with all the gravitas of his dungeon master voice.
Doug laughs, Gareth rolls his eyes, but Jeff’s eyes are narrowed on his face for the next ten minutes until he gets sucked into the campaign. And Eddie? Eddie’s heart isn’t in it. No matter how determined he is to put it out of his mind, it keeps sticking to his neurons.
Because Chrissy? She’s nice, sure. And pretty, definitely. Her hair’s…nice? Bouncy? It’s probably soft. And yeah, she’s a jock, but she’s not like most of them—too kind to give a kid a swirly or call any of the other girls fat.
Which brings him to the King of the jocks, Steve Harrington, whose name is practically branded on Chrissy’s shoulders by this point, whose arm is pretty much super-glued around her waist. Steve, with his perfect hair, and long eyelashes, and those big brown eyes, and all those muscles.
Something too squirmy to be hatred sinks in his gut. Jealousy, maybe? Because how could someone like him compete with King Steve for a lady’s hand, love notes or no?
He’s distracted for the rest of the campaign, says half-hearted goodbyes to the boys before finally closing the van door on them and driving away.
When he opens the letter in the safety of his bedroom, it’s shorter than usual:
  Eddie —
There’s nothing more I want than to see you up on that stage, rocking out, in your element, but I’m just not ready. I hope you’ll forgive me.
  Yours,
  Your Secret Admirer
P.S. If you still want to respond, I’ll look in the big print edition of The Hobbit.
He goes over the words again and again, finger running along the lines of each character, trying to picture Chrissy pouring over them with her pen.  He loves all the words in all the letters, wants to carve them all on his skin, helplessly charmed by each vulnerability shared.
He can’t quite make the words fit the girl.
Eddie still drops his next reply in the big print edition of The Hobbit the next morning. He watches Chrissy all day. He’s surprised, somehow, when she meets his eyes once across the insurmountable distances between them in the lunchroom. She ducks her head immediately and blushes, even with Harrington’s arm wrapped around her shoulders.
There isn’t another note by the end of the day.
“So, wait,” Gareth says, stoned out of his mind and sprawled out on Eddie’s bed after the hell they call education finally released them. “You’re saying Chrissy has been leaving you all those notes?”
Eddie spins around in his desk chair, but it’s not one of those fancy wheeled ones that Harrington probably has, so he’s forced to turn and straddle the back, letting his head hang over the headrest as he groans.
“For the last time, yes!” he says, more to the little bits of his carpet that he can see than to Gareth himself. “It’s Chrissy!”
Gareth takes another hit, blowing smoke toward Eddie’s ceiling to swirl around and join the rest of the stains up there. “Are you sure it wasn’t just someone who looked like her? How close to her were you?”
Eddie groans again, shuffles off his uncomfortable chair to flop beside Gareth and steal his joint back. “She was wearing a cheerleading uniform, man,” he says before taking a puff and letting all the smoke out with his next words. “And no one else on the team has that color hair.”
Gareth hums, twisting on his side to burrow his head into Eddie’s only pillow. “What is that color even? Like, blond but with a weird red in it? What’s it called, bluh-red?”
He laughs like that’s the funniest joke in the world, so Eddie doesn’t hand back the joint, just pulls on it until he’s down to the quick and ashes it on his nightstand as Gareth whines.
“It’s strawberry blond, you idiot.”
Gareth wrinkles his nose at that. “That’s a stupid name.”
Eddie smacks his hand out, lets it hit Gareth’s arm with a solid thwack. “You’re supposed to be helping me!”
“With what?” Gareth replies, rolling away from Eddie when he goes to hit him again. He ends up on Eddie’s floor, fall cushioned by all of his dirty clothes scattered about. “Just like, talk to her?”
“Chrissy Cunningham?” Eddie demands. Gareth doesn’t seem to be understanding the severity of the situation. “Whose head cheerleader and, oh yeah, dating Steve Harrington?”
“So what? The guy’s a douche,” Gareth replies.
Instead of getting back up on the bed, he snuggles further into Eddie’s dirty clothes, rolling around like a pig in a mud puddle until he’s got enough of Eddie’s discarded shirts on him to function as a makeshift blanket.
Harrington is a douche. He’s got to spend an obscene amount of time on his hair in the morning, and he hangs out with those hyenas on the basketball team all the time, and he’s Steve Harrington. Rich kid, lady killer, King Steve Harrington.
Maybe all Chrissy really wants is an excuse to leave him. If that’s what his lady wants, he will provide.
***
Steve’s been sitting on Eddie’s letter for a few days now, at a loss for what to say. He puts it under his pillow at night, hoping the perfect answer will come to him in his dreams. He finds himself unfolding it and refolding it again and again, wondering if the words will change.
  Darling,
If you’re not ready, that’s okay. But the heart wants what it wants, and you can’t blame me for trying, can you? Even still, I’ll be singing just for you.
Of course I still want your letters, never doubt that. They’re still, always, forever, the best part of my day.
  Always,
  Eddie
P.S. Excellent choice in hiding places, have you read it?
It’s just, a big part of him had expected Steve’s dismissal of meeting up would end this thing they have. He’d braced for it, and instead, Eddie was sweet.
And Steve can’t give him what he wants, isn’t what he wants, so he keeps the letter with him and stews on it, Chrissy sending him worried looks when she thinks he’s not paying attention.
No matter how lost in thought he is, a part of him is always tuned into Eddie’s presence, so he sees him coming before Chrissy does.
“Miss Cunningham,” Eddie says, leaning forward like a gallant knight as he takes her small hand in one of his own. She jumps, eyes darting up from her lunch to meet Eddie’s own. “Can I have this dance?”
The rest of the lunch table titters. It might have been charming, if they were at a dance, or anywhere aside from shoehorned to the side of the table with all of Steve’s shitty friends laughing.
It might have been charming if Eddie’d looked at Steve at all.
Chrissy’s sure looking at him, though—eyes all wide in her face as she shifts her gaze back and forth from Steve sitting across from her to Eddie crouched at her side.
“Um—” is all she gets out before Jason stands from the far end of the table and starts taking threatening steps forward.
“What the hell do you think you’re doing, Freak?” Jason demands, chin raised.
Steve’s about ready to stand, insert himself in the whole thing, but then Eddie’s lips graze Chrissy’s hand.
Jason stumbles back like he’s been shot. Eddie grins against Chrissy’s skin, turns his gaze away from Jason, and lands on Steve. He can almost feel it on his own skin as Eddie puckers his lips again and presses another kiss to Chrissy’s skin, this time to the smooth surface of her wrist.
He never looks away from Steve.
“Um!” Chrissy says again.
Only then does Eddie break eye contact with him. He drops Chrissy’s hand, placing it gently back to the table, says, “until next time, mi amore,” and saunters away, continuing until he’s out of the cafeteria entirely.
Steve doesn’t look away until the door swings shut and blocks his view of Eddie entirely.
“What was that, Chrissy?” Jason demands. He’s moved closer while Steve was distracted, absolutely towering over her, looking more like a beleaguered father than an ex. “First Harrington, and now the Freak?”
Steve wants to defend himself, defend Eddie, defend Chrissy. But despite what Jason clearly thinks, she’s never needed defending, so he asks, “do you want to get out of here?”
“God, yes,” Chrissy sighs.
They leave their lunches uneaten and their tables unbussed, hustling out the same doors Eddie’d just sauntered through, leaving a scolding Jason in their wake. Something about devil worship and blaspheming?
Steve’s not exactly the church-going type; he’s just glad when the doors swing shut and cut off Jason’s little speech.
“What was that?” Chrissy asks in a whisper despite the deserted corridor.
“Jason?” Steve asks at his normal volume. “I don’t know, he’s always been a bit like that, hasn’t he?”
“Not Jason,” Chrissy snaps, slapping at Steve’s arm, taking any sting out of the motion by wrapping her arm in his after and reeling him right back in. “Eddie!”
Steve, who had sort of been hoping that he could pretend the whole thing had been a vivid hallucination, has nothing to say.
“Do you think he knows?” she asks, voice quiet again as she looks furtively around the deserted halls, for random passerby’s or even Eddie himself.
“About you?” Steve asks, stomach sinking even further when he continues, “or about me?”
Chrissy stumbles, eyes going impossibly wider at the thought. She pulls him into an abandoned classroom and pushes him into one of the uncomfortable chairs. She sits in front of him, looking across the desk between them like he’s a sad woodland creature she’d just hit with her car.
“He can’t know about you,” she says. “He was flirting with me.”
Steve grimaces. Chrissy’s too nice, always thinking the best in people like she doesn’t have Jason Carver as living, breathing proof that sometimes, beyond all expectations, people can suck.
“He could be fucking with me. Eddie seems like the type to play with his food.” Steve stares down at the grooves of the desk he’s seated in. Someone had carved FUCK on it in big, bold letters. Steve’s never agreed with a sentiment more. “Do you think Jeff told him?”
Chrissy shakes her head so hard that her ponytail whacks her in the face. “No way, he promised!” she reminds him.
Jeff seems like a good guy, but Steve’s not sure how far that goes. He doesn’t have the wherewithal to trust like that, not with this.
“Well, what do we do?” Steve asks. “Should you just flirt back next time?”
Chrissy bites her lip, worrying at the dry skin there until Steve taps her chin in reminder, and she puts her teeth back in her mouth.
“Maybe it won’t happen again?”
Steve sighs, thunking his head down against the desk. “Yeah, maybe,” he murmurs into the wood, Chrissy’s hand patting his shoulder a paltry consolation to the nightmare he’s found himself in.
***
It happens again.
“Carry your books, my lady?” Eddie asks. He’s already got his hands out expectantly, but he’s too much of a gentleman to make a move without her say-so.
She watches his hopeful grin for a moment before sliding her pile of books into his awaiting arms. Once secured, he does an endearing little fist bump before taking up residence at her side like it's his birthright.
“What are you doing, Eddie?” she asks.
“What do you mean?” he asks, almost sounding clueless enough to convince her, if it wasn’t for that little smirk on his lips.
Everyone in the hallways are giving them a wide berth, clearly shocked by the unexpected pair. It’s nice, almost, to be given so much space. But—
But.
“You know I’m with Steve, right?” Chrissy asks.
Eddie grimaces, like just hearing Steve’s name is enough to sour his mood. “What, is it illegal to walk a pretty girl to class now?” he asks.
Chrissy’s own mood sinks to the pits, and she sighs, disappointed. “No,” she replies before letting the silence between them linger uncomfortably.
Eddie’s fidgeting with her books, anxious fingers fluttering against the loose pages of one of her notebooks, and his eyes dart toward her every couple of seconds.
“Chrissy—”
“You know, for someone who spends so much time ranting about the status quo, you sure can’t seem to look past skin deep.”
Eddie jerks like she struck him. Chrissy would feel bad if she wasn’t thinking about having to tell her best friend about this in a couple hours. “I see you,” he murmurs, shifting on his feet and not meeting her gaze as he holds out her books for her to take.
When Chrissy sighs, he flinches again. “I don’t think you do,” she says, not sticking around to see how it lands.
She’s got class to get to, and a best friend’s heart to break.
Chrissy snags Steve’s hand before he can walk through the cafeteria’s swinging doors and pulls him the other way. They settle into the same, abandoned classroom in the same, abandoned seats.
“It happened again,” she says, not letting go of Steve’s hand.
He’s still got a bit of polish clinging to his nails, the chipped yellow making him look almost jaundiced with how patchy it is. She uses her own fingernail to chip at it, ignoring the sunshine yellow flakes dropping down to the empty desk separating them.
Steve doesn’t ask what happened again; he doesn’t need to.
“Did you flirt back?” he asks.
Chrissy bites her lip. “I let him carry my books.”
She hadn’t flirted, is the thing, but she hadn’t gotten rid of him either. She knew, no matter how heartbroken he looks across from her right now, he wouldn’t have wanted her to.
“Okay,” he says, like it really is, like he means it. “Thank you.”
“Don’t thank me!” she snaps, snatching her hands back for a second before the bewildered look on his face has her reaching out again. “What are you thanking me for?”
Steve smiles—it’s small, and sad, and he’s beaming it right into her soul. “For keeping me safe.”
Chrissy groans, dropping her head onto their clasped hands and just keeps groaning. He means it—of course he does. If there’s one thing she’s learned since this whole thing started, it’s that Steve Harrington is somehow, inexplicably, too nice for his own good.
“I love you, you know,” she says, lips brushing against his skin with every word.
She’s been thinking it since he’d called her his best friend in that letter, since he’d said it and she hadn’t said it back. It sits unsaid behind her teeth every time he smiles, or frowns, or anything at all. He’s just too dang easy to love.
When he doesn’t reply, she forces herself to raise her tired head and get a look at his face. His eyes are big and round, mouth hanging open far enough that she’s tempted to close it for him, and there’s a damning sheen to his eyes that makes her own water.
“Really?” he asks, voice cracking. “You do?”
“Of course,” she replies, the way he always does to her, no matter what she asks for.
He smiles again, and it’s big this time, happy and watery around the edges as he says, “love you, too,” leaving the “I” out of the confession like that’ll somehow make the whole thing less real.
They’re smiling at each other like damn fools when Steve’s stomach growls and they dissolve into giggles.
“Buy me lunch?” she asks.
“Of course.” He jumps up from the desk and holds out his hand for her, an unknowing mirror of Eddie this morning.
She doesn’t put her books into his arms, just takes his hand.

You have a slight problem. You’re tipsy and there’s a baby in your arms. You’re drunk enough that you’re not sure exactly who the baby belongs to, but Quinn had been carrying her awkwardly, so you’d scooped her up and decided to dote on her. Of course, you’d had to cross the room to get to him and the baby, your vision tunneling as soon as you spotted him.
Turns out, Quinn was only holding her so that her parents could wish the hosts goodbye without a tired baby in their arms. She’s taken from you far too soon, which you act gracious about, but inside, you’re pouting. You love babies. They’re so cute and so precious and you love the idea of watching a tiny little human, that you made with the love of your life, learn how to be a person.
Once the parents are gone, taking your new favorite little friend with them, you pout at Quinn outwardly. “I want one,” you whine petulantly.
Quinn rolls his eyes, but he smiles at you fondly. “You’re drunk,” he says.
“Only a little,” you reply. “And that doesn’t change anything. I still want a baby. I want you to give me one.” You bring your hands to his sides and wrinkle the fabric of his shirt in your hands.
Quinn covers your hands with his own and removes them from his clothing. He fixes you with an unimpressed look. “We’re in public,” he reminds you.
“Then take me home.” You bring your arms over his shoulders, plastering yourself against his front. You touch his nose in a brief Eskimo kiss, ghosting your lips over his. “We should practice.”
“Practice what?” Quinn asks, playing along. He hugs your middle, keeping you close. You’re both toeing the line of acceptable PDA, especially when you’re at an event with Quinn’s colleagues, but you can’t be bothered. You’re horny and you want to make a mini-Quinn. You’ve seen his baby pictures– he was adorable.
“Making a baby,” you sing-song, toying with his hair. He hasn’t cut it since the start of the season, so it’s growing nice and long. He also hasn’t shaved in a little while, so his facial hair is your favorite length. “I’ll let you come inside me as many times as you want.”
“Tempting,” Quinn laughs. “But, again, baby– you’re drunk.”
“I’m horny,” you correct.
“You’re horny because you’re drunk,” Quinn says. He pecks your lips. “I promise, as soon as we’re both sober, we can do every little dirty thing you could ever dream of.”
“You’re no fun,” you tell him with a frown.
Quinn allows one of his hands to drift lower and pat your ass. He kisses your cheek, then puts his mouth right next to your ear. “We can have a lot of fun tomorrow,” he mutters. “When you’re sober. I want you to remember every second when I try and knock you up for the first time, baby.”
You straighten your posture a bit, reacting to his words. You sway with him a bit like you’re slow-dancing. It’s certainly out of place in this environment, to be holding your boyfriend so close for this long, but you don’t care. You want to be touching him and you like what he’s saying.
“Gonna look so pretty with my cum dripping out of you, sweetheart,” Quinn continues. “But I’ll have to make sure it stays inside somehow. We can’t take any chances, can we?”

hellooo I just want to say that I like your blog, I really like your writing style🫶🏻🫶🏻 AND
what do you think about Vernon finding the reader's twitter spam account? at first, without saying anything, he follows her from a fake account and learns her fetishes and things like that. then he can't hold back and teasing the reader because of this situation and does all the things she reposts, all she wants and imagines(I honestly can't decide whether they will be friends or lovers and I leave it to you)
thank you very much in advance🩷🩷🩷🩷
when vernon finds out about your freaky tweets
WARNINGS: smut, face slapping, BIG DICK!VERNON, cock riding, mentions of hair pulling, dirty talk, choking.
it starts innocently enough; you’ve got your little spam account, this place where you post anything that comes to mind without a second thought. it’s private, anonymous—you’re safe, or so you think. until one day, you start noticing a new follower, someone with zero posts and a random handle, lurking in the notifications. you brush it off, figuring it’s just some bot. but vernon… well, vernon's been piecing things together. and one night, after reading one of your latest posts—something so NASTY that practically burned his screen—he decides he can't just pretend he hasn’t seen it. so he waits until you’re in the living room next saturday, all comfortable, maybe a little too comfortable. you look up, seeing him standing there with that little frown he gets when he's too stressed to understand something, a raised eyebrow, and his phone in his hand.
“so… ‘i just want him to hold me down and—’” he reads aloud, and you feel everything in you freeze up as he raises an eyebrow at you. “‘then pull my hair back so i can see his face… maybe, idk, slap me around a little?’ really, y/n?”
you scramble, trying to play it cool “vernon—wait, why—where’d you see that?”
“oh, i dunno. i’ve been following this account for a while. figured i’d wait until you posted something really crazy before bringing it up.”
you stammer, face going hot. “i—you didn’t have to read it out loud like that, jesus.”
“oh, come on,” he says, leaning in, crowding your space just enough to make you feel cornered “you can post it, but i can’t say it?”
you swallow hard “i didn’t… i didn’t think you’d see it.”
“didn’t think i’d find out?” he echoes, voice dropping a little. “you know, all this time, i’ve been seeing these little things you like. i didn’t say anything because i thought you’d be embarrassed. but now…” he smirks, leaning back with a sigh, watching you. “now i think maybe i should give you some of what you’re so clearly craving.”
“vernon,” you say, trying to keep your voice steady, but it’s hard when he’s looking at you like he’s imagining every filthy thing you’ve ever posted.
he smirks, reaching out to tuck a strand of hair behind your ear. “oh, don’t go all shy on me now. i’ve read what you want. all of it. let’s start with the basics, huh?” his hand trails down, tipping your chin up, thumb brushing over your bottom lip. “you wanna ride me? why didn’t you just say so?”
you feel your heart pounding as he pulls you closer, he's practically purring as he goes, “or that other thing you posted—what was it? something about choking you?” he wraps his hand lightly around your throat, thumb brushing over the sensitive skin as he watches your reaction. “like this?”
you almost cant nod, you're melting, your breath coming short as he tightens his grip just enough to make you feel it “so pretty when you’re horny,” he murmurs, fingers pressing just a little more.
and when you shake your head, he grins, pulling you onto his lap, guiding you to straddle him as his hands settle on your hips “guess i’ve gotta make up for all those little fantasies you’ve been hiding, huh?”
“you sure you can handle it?” he whispers, leaning in, lips brushing against your neck. “’cause i don’t think you really knew what you were asking for when you posted all that.”
but you nod, he tilts your head up, lips brushing over yours, and you feel his hand come up, palm grazing over your cheek before he slaps you—just a little, just enough to make you gasp. he chuckles when you moan, liquefying on his lap, fingers tilting your face back to him.
[...]
he’s already watching you with a azy smirk, eyes rolling sliighty as you sink down onto him, your thighs trembling as you struggle to take all of him in. and god, he’s big. you knew he would be—you’d guessed it a dozen times in all those reckless tweets, wondering just how good it’d feel, but feeling it now, it’s like all that teasing turned on you, stretching you almost too much, and every inch you take feels like a challenge.
“aww, look at you,” he coos, his hands resting on your hips, fingers rubbing little circles into your skin as you try to ease down, taking him deeper, even though it’s making your breath catch, making you whimper and shake. “what happened, baby? i thought you said you could handle it.”
you bite your lip, cheeks burning, and he chuckles, leaning in closer, voice low and teasing. “or maybe you just wanted me to be big so you could talk all that shit on your little account,” he murmurs, running his thumb over your lip. “all those tweets you made, talking about wanting me to be, what—eight, nine inches?” he grins, watching the way you flush, the way your hands grip his shoulders to steady yourself. “think you got what you wished for, hm?”
“shut up,” you manage to whisper, but it’s so breathless, your body clenching around him, and he laughs, hands guiding you down just a bit further, his hips lifting just a little to meet you, that makes you gasp, makes you try to pull back, but he keeps you there, fingers firm on your hips.
“no, no, let’s see you take it,” he whispers, voice rough with that soft teasing. “come on, baby. don’t tell me this is too much. you wanted all of it, right?”
you nod, trying to adjust, but it’s almost too much fr, too thick, too deep, and he watches you with those hooded eyes, savoring every single whimper you make. “it’s okay,” he says softly, almost soothing as he leans up to kiss you, but you can hear that cocky lilt in his tone. “you’re doing so good. even if you can’t take all of it… god, you’re trying, huh?”
and he’s right there, brushing his lips over your cheek, murmuring sweet, filthy encouragements into your ear as you sink down a little more, taking just a bit more of him, even though your body’s practically begging for a break. “that’s it… there you go. so good, baby. i’m impressed,” he purrs, hands trailing up your back. “i didn’t think you’d take even this much.”
every time you pause, every time your breath catches, he’s right there, fingers digging into your hips, guiding you, helping you ride him “guess you really wanted to know..” he murmurs, grinning as he watches you struggle, your head falling back as you finally take just a little more, his hands pulling you down hard against him until you can feel every inch of him.
“there it is… that’s my girl,” he whispers, in asatisfied rasp, his eyes dark as he watches you ride him, just as you’d dreamed about, exactly as you’d hoped—only now it’s even better.

Birthday Kiss | Nightcrawler x Reader | One Shot
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Author's Note: I find out an hour after waking up at almost 3pm it's Kurt's birthday... had to write something for the blue lad... German translations at the bottom !!
Summery: It was known by everyone except you two that there was something... awkward between you and Kurt. The exchanges of glances when the other wasn't looking, the way your laughs trailed off... Nothing but tonight was the end of all that.
Themes: Birthday, First Kiss, Fluff OMG, so much Fluff, Mutual Crush, Open Ending, Alcohol/Drinking Mention, Awkwardness, Flirting, Guest Appearance of lots of characters, Kissing (duh), Kurt Has a Beard and Forked Tongue (because fuck you), His face is also skin (not fur), Shorter!R (<5'9), R is a mutant/x-man (No Powers Written).
Word Count: 1.4k
The X-Men knew that Kurt wasn't one to like big celebrations, but that didn't stop them from forcing him out of his comfort zone. They rented out a mutant friendly restaurant for the blue boy's birthday. He had to be quite literally dragged by the hair into Wolverine's jeep to go. It was a site to see, really.
But you were happy to see him warm up to the idea as you crawled into the backseat next to him, his tail stopping it's anxious swishing to wrap around you and bring you closer. This made the both of you blush, his cheeks a faint purple.
"So... you knew about all, uh...this?" He asks, voice barely above a whisper.
"Who do you think brought up having a party?" You laugh, smile beaming as you look up at him. His blush deepens at the thought.
"Was?? Since when?!" He laughs, shaking his head as he tried to hide behind his hands. You reach out and pull his hands away from his face, his yellow eyes widening at the sudden act.
"The first, duh. I knew your birthday was coming up, and I wanted to make sure you knew we cared for you, Blau." You say, quickly watching his reaction, which was much softer than you imagined it would me.
"Well, I should have excepted it from mein Freundchen, huh?" He laughs, wrapping an arm around you and pulling you flush against his side. If it weren't for the slight bumps of the road, your ear would be flat against his chest. He quickly puts his knuckles against your scalp and gives you a noogie.
"Keep it civil back there, kids." The gruff voice of the driver and owner of the jeep said, cigar smoke puffing out his mouth as he spoke.
"Sorry, Logan!" You respond, pushing Kurt off of you, your own cheeks hot with blush. You look over to Rogue, who sat on the other side of Kurt, watching the two of you with a small smirk on her face. "What're you looking at?"
"Oh, nothin', sugar." She says, eyes darting between you and your friend, before turning to look out the window. You weren't sure what she meant, but quickly turned your attention back to Kurt, who shrugs and laughs. You watch as he turns to his sister and gets her attention with his tail.
You watch the two siblings mingle, resulting in both of them laughing about some inside joke. It made your heart flutter to hear him laugh, a big change from the man that didn't even want to celebrate his birthday, having to be dragged out of his room by you and Rogue, forced to get dressed in something slightly fancy, and shoved into the car.
The rest of the trip into town was filled with Wolverine's radio blaring some classic rock, small talk and jokes from the back sit of probably the worst trio to get on Logan's nerves, and the wind blowing through the car from the windows. You all finally arrived at the restaurant, having to wait in the jeep for the others. You get out and stretch your legs, quickly followed by Kurt as he sits back against the jeep, arms stretched high into the air.
You can't help but watch the way his white shirt slightly raises, showing just a bit of the blue fur underneath. You blush once again, quickly looking away before he can see. He finishes stretching, holding the front closure of his leather jacket. "You alright, mein Schatz?" He asks, raising an eyebrow.
"Yeah, yeah, don't worry." You wave him off, seeing two more cars pull into the parking lot. You smile widely, grabbing his wrist, "Come on birthday boy."
Kurt's glowing yellow eyes widen as you pull him along towards the others, a humbled laugh leaving his throat as his tail swishes anxiously behind him. The two of you start a conversation with the others, Scott and Hank both giving Kurt a pat on the back as they greet him. You can't help but notice, even with all the people around, he's staring right at you majority of the time.
The party quickly moves inside, a slight rain picking up in the city. The restaurant was on the top floor of the building, high in the sky with a nice balcony. It wasn't that much a big room, the X-Men filling it up pretty well with the amounts of guests. You were quickly separated from Kurt as he was dragged to the bar by some of the guys. You watched from a distance as they all took a shot. You kind of wished you were there to see what they cheered to, but it was less important than the gossip that Warren was spilling to the small group you found yourself apart of.
The night continued on, food being brought and distributed among everyone. You heard a ring of glass being hit with something metal, getting everyone's attention as Scott stood in the middle of the room.
"Hello, everyone! Thank you all for coming out, truly. We're about to bring out the cake and play happy birthday, so if you'd all like to come over here," He gestured to the table next to him, a spot blank for the cake, "That'd be great, thanks!"
He quickly turned around and started talking with Jean and Logan. You looked around for Kurt, spotting him close to the table with a tail wrapped around his leg. You walked over to him, putting a hand around him in a side hug. "Hey, what's up?"
"Oh! Nothing, just... this is all wunderbar, liebe, I'm just a little... over stimulated?" He laughs out. You understand what he means, grabbing his wrist once more and pulling him towards the balcony.
"Then let's get some air, yeah?" You say, looking back at him and pausing before you step out the door. He nods, walking out with you into the cold air of the New York night. You both sigh, finally away from the loud party. You watch as Kurt walks to the balcony edge, leaning himself against the bars.
"Thank you," He grins, "for everything. I didn't think I'd want to be here, but it's very nice that you arranged this whole thing."
"Oh, it wasn't just me. We all pitched in. I just picked the music and decorations, really." You admit, trying to stay humble as your cheeks burned.
"Ja, but, you know," He turns back to you with a toothy grin, his fangs glinting in the moonlight, "it wouldn't have happened if you didn't ask to have a party."
You nod, understanding what he says but still not wanting to take all the credit. Before you can respond, he teleports behind you, the air around you surrounded with the familiar brimstone and ash smell. He places his hands on your shoulders, pressing a soft kiss on your cheek. The feeling of his goatee lingers on your skin as he pull back. "Danke, mein Fraund."
If your face didn't already feel hot, it now felt like it was on fire, your blush dripping to your neck and ears at the gesture. You look over at him, a genuine smile on your lips. "You're very welcome, Kurt." You say, turning around and wrapping your arms around his middle. You nuzzle against his chest.
You both stay there for a few moments, taking it in. You pull away first, heart pounding as the thought of your next action. Your hands travel up to Kurt's face, holding it in place as you stand on your tiptoes. "And... you're welcome for this." You say softly before pressing your lips flush against his own.
Kurt tenses up for a moment, the glow of his eyes disappearing as he closes his eyes, leaning further into the kiss. This shocked you, making you gasp, taken aback as his forked tongue licks across your bottom lip. He pulls you closer into him, a hand combing through your hair and holding your head in place.
You open your mouth, allowing him access into it. He chuckles softly, tail snaking around your hips. The kiss feels like it lasts forever, the two of you tangling in one another. When he finally pulls away, your eyes open to the sight of his cheeks a deep violet, feeling his breath pant against your lips as he presses your foreheads together.
"Did... that really just happen?" He asks, voice hoarse.
"Yeah, it did... It very much did, Kurt." You respond, pressing your lips against his again, but only for a moment. "Think of it as... a birthday gift, yeah?"
"I think a birthday kiss is the best thing you could have given me, Liebchen." Kurt laughs, capturing your lips once again.
"Was?" = What? "Blau" = Blue. "mein Freundchen" = My friend (in a condescending/playful way). "mein Schatz" = My treasure/My darling/My sweetheart. "Wunderbar" = Wonderful. "Liebe" = Love. "Ja" = Yes. "Danke, mein Fraund" = Thank you, my friend. "Liebchen" = Darling.

I.
Eddie’s first day as a probationary firefighter is…interesting. Captain Nash welcomes him with the same warm smile he gave him the first time they talked, then leads him inside and shows him around the app bay.
“We’ll give you the full tour later,” he promises, “after you’ve met the rest of the team. You’re the first one here, if you want, you can change into your uniform now.”
He points towards the locker room – which has glass walls for some reason – and Eddie nods.
He’s just finished buttoning up his shirt when Captain Nash ushers a group of firefighters inside. Eddie runs a hand through his hair to make sure it’s tidy and smiles as Hen and Chimney introduce themselves to him with warm smiles and handshakes, welcoming him to the team.
There’s a third person with them, hovering in the background and glowering at Eddie. He’s young, probably around Eddie’s age, tall and very built, and despite his hostile expression, he doesn’t give Eddie the impression of being an asshole. It’s like the expression doesn’t fit on his face, like he’s not used to wearing it.
Chim grabs him by the arm and pushes him forward, giving Eddie a commiserating smile.
“And this guy is Buck,” he says. “He was our probie before you.”
“Nice to meet you,” Eddie says politely, stretching a hand out to offer a handshake. “You’ll have to show me how things work around here, then.”
Buck glowers down at his hand, and when he finally grabs it, he squeezes it too tightly, like he’s trying to prove something. Eddie squeezes back, amused by the pretense this guy is clearly putting on.
Behind Buck’s back, Hen rolls her eyes, but she’s also wearing a fond look, which only confirms Eddie’s assumption that Buck isn’t half as bad as he’s pretending to be.
From Captain Nash, he knows that they’re supposed to work together a lot of the time, so that’s gonna be interesting. He doesn’t know why Buck is acting like this, but he’s gonna find out, and then he’s gonna figure out a way to work with Buck anyway.
He didn’t come here to make friends, but he’ll be spending 50 hours a week with these people, and he has to trust them with his life for a lot of that time, so they at the very least need to bury whatever hatchet Buck is carrying right now.
Eddie lets go of his hand with a nod and a polite smile, and gives himself a week to figure Buck out.
II.
The days between the accident and the funeral are kind of a blur.
There’s too much to do and think about, too many decisions to make, too many people to call, too much to organize. He has help – Abuela, Pepa, the entire 118, but it still feels too much.
Shannon was 27, she didn’t have a will, they never talked about any of this. How is Eddie supposed to know how she would like to be buried, or if she’d rather be cremated? What kind of music she would want them to play at her funeral? This wasn’t supposed to happen. Not for a very, very long time.
But it did happen, and now Eddie is somehow supposed to know all this about her, his wife, the woman he’s only just let back into his and Christopher’s lives, the woman who asked him for a divorce and completely pulled the rug from under his feet just a day before she died.
Sometimes, he feels like he didn’t know her at all.
His parents are here “to help”, which should be a relief but really isn’t. They never liked Shannon and aren’t making a secret of it, even now that– now that she’s gone. So Eddie can’t involve them in the funeral planning, and he can’t even leave Christopher with them because he’s scared that they’re gonna take the opportunity to grab him and run, and someone needs to make sure that Shannon’s memory is honored, but she didn’t have any family except him and Christopher, and Chris is seven, so Eddie has to be the one to make this funeral beautiful, something she’d deserve, but he doesn’t know– there’s so much–
“Eddie,” someone says next to him, snapping him out of his spiral. “Come on, breathe with me.”
Eddie stares at Buck’s chest as it rises and falls with exaggerated breaths, trying to match him. When did Buck get here? He doesn’t remember letting him in, doesn’t really remember what he was doing before he started hyperventilating on his couch.
“Chris,” he gasps when he realizes that also means he’s not sure where his kid is. And of course he’s the kind of father who would do that only days after his kid lost his mom, maybe his parents are–
“Is with Hen and Karen,” Buck says firmly, grabbing his forearm. “He’s gonna spend the day with them and Denny, probably getting spoiled rotten. I borrowed Pepa’s key when we went over there so they could pick him up, she told me you might not open – sorry for barging in here, but I’m glad I did. I know you– I wanted to– Bobby and Athena are running interference with your parents. And I’m here to help you with all that.” He gestures towards the couch table that’s covered in forms, leaflets from funeral homes, and cards from grief counselors. “After Abby’s mom– I helped plan her funeral. So I’ve got some experience.”
Eddie just stares at him, biting the inside of his cheek hard to stop himself from crying. He trusts Buck, but he still doesn’t want to cry in front of him, doesn’t want to cry in front of anyone. But he does think that maybe he should give Buck his own copy of a key, so he won’t have to borrow Pepa’s next time.
Buck squeezes his forearm and gives him a small, sad smile. “We’re all here for you, Eddie. I got your back, remember?”
Eddie blinks against the tears in his eyes and swallows around the lump in his throat that’s keeping him from saying anything.
Instead, he twists his arm from Buck’s grip and grabs his hand instead, squeezing it in a silent thank you.
Buck squeezes back and keeps holding on.
III.
Buck gets to go home earlier than anyone expected, but Eddie has been to his new apartment, so he isn’t surprised when Buck texts him a picture of his couch with a sad face. It’s not ideal, but at least he has a bathroom downstairs and a girlfriend who can help if he struggles with anything.
Until he doesn’t have that girlfriend anymore.
Eddie doesn’t find out until after his shield ceremony, days after, actually, once his parents have finally gone home to Texas.
Buck says he’s fine, obviously, but Eddie starts going over every day he doesn’t have a shift anyway, because he knows Buck and can see how much he’s struggling with the whole situation, with the uncertainty of when and how he can return to work.
He brings Christopher most of the time. They’re not having the best summer either, Eddie still worries that he’s not doing enough to help Christopher deal with his grief, when he can barely keep his own head above the water of grief, guilt and fear.
Carla is doing what she can, watching Christopher whenever Eddie’s working, she found him a grief counselor and is even looking into more permanent therapists.
None of it changes the fact that they’re grieving.
But when Christopher gets to hang out with Buck, he lights up every time, and so does Buck, which makes this a two birds with one stone kind of situation. Hanging out with Buck helps them both, too, makes their grief not the first thing on their minds for a little while.
Buck can’t move much, so they play board games and try to find one they all enjoy equally – it’s not easy, since Eddie likes luck-based games (he plays poker with his abuela and tía whenever he can), Buck prefers trivia and games relying on knowledge, while Christopher likes strategic games most.
But everyone gets to pick sometimes, and when they don’t want to play board games, they switch to video games instead.
Eddie knew that Buck and Chris get along well, they have ever since the first time they met, when Buck drove Eddie to Chris’ school after the earthquake during Eddie’s second week at the 118. But with how much time the three of them are spending together now, he can see them growing closer every day – and he loves it.
Buck is his best friend, and he genuinely cares about Christopher in a way that feels completely independent from Eddie.
One evening, while they’re playing a few rounds of Christopher’s current favorite video game after dinner, the kid falls asleep between them on the couch.
Buck smiles down at him and lowers the volume of the TV, which means he loses even more clearly to Eddie, but he had the win in the bag anyway, he’s sure.
Buck rolls his eyes at him when Eddie celebrates his victory with big, silent gestures, but he’s smiling, too.
Eddie grins at him, resting his arm on the back of the couch behind Chris, and Buck twists a little to face him. His leg, resting outstretched on the couch table in front of them, moves with him, and Eddie slides Christopher’s glass of water out of the way in a practiced move.
“I know you’re here to keep an eye on me,” Buck says, “and I should probably be annoyed. I– I was kind of annoyed, at first. But it’s hard to stay annoyed when he’s here, right?” He nods down at Christopher. “And I guess you’re okay, too.”
“Wow, thanks,” Eddie says, but he knows his glare isn’t convincing. “To be clear, we’re all keeping an eye on each other.”
“Yeah, yeah.” Buck reaches for Eddie’s hand, still on the backrest between them, and squeezes it – just for a moment, like he’s trying to get Eddie’s attention, like he doesn’t already have it anyway. “Thanks.”
IV.
Everything sucks.
It’s the uncertainty that gets to Eddie most, the not knowing how to help, how to stay safe, how to keep his loved ones safe. How long this is gonna last.
Every day, they have to see people die from a virus they know nothing about, and can’t do anything against.
And afterwards, they can’t even go home.
Christopher is part of a high risk group, and Eddie risks exposure at work every day, so obviously, he can’t endanger him by living with him. Chimney feels the same way about Maddie, and Hen also wants to keep her family safe, which is how the three of them ended up at Buck’s apartment, where they’ve been camped out for the past three weeks.
It’s generous of Buck to let them all stay with him, but the loft is not made for four people to live there, and they’re all feeling it.
Eddie loves his friends, but spending every minute of every day with them is starting to wear on him. They all try to give each other space, using the balcony as an extra room or going for runs outside, but there’s only so much they can do.
He hates being separated from Chris, it makes him feel like he’s breaking his promise to never leave him behind again. Christopher says he understands, but Eddie worries anyway. He trusts Pepa, who’s working fully remote and offered to stay with Chris, and they talk every day, but it’s not the same as being there.
Whenever he talks to Chris on the phone, he feels better in the moment, but worse the second they hang up. While they’re talking, he can almost pretend that things are normal, but it all comes crashing down afterwards.
He hasn’t hugged his son in weeks, and he has no idea when he’s even gonna see him in person again.
Buck joins their calls most of the time, at least for a few minutes, and he sits next to Eddie on the bed now, shoulders slumped where they’re touching Eddie’s. In a world where he has to keep his distance from almost everyone, except the patients he’s treating and the people he’s living with, touching and being touched by Buck is a real comfort.
“This won’t be forever, Eddie,” he says, almost desperately.
“But for how long?” Eddie asks, and it comes out sounding a little wobbly.
He’s not embarrassed by it anymore – Buck’s seen him in all kinds of situations, and they’re currently sharing a bed, so he’s seen him cry anyway.
“I–I wish I knew,” Buck says. “I wish I could– fix this.”
Eddie wipes at his eye and laughs a little. “The whole pandemic?”
“If I could, yeah.” Buck shrugs.
Eddie presses even closer to him for a moment, a gentle pressure of their shoulders, arms and thighs against each other. “I wish you could, too. But even if you can’t – I’m glad you’re here.”
“Of course.” Buck smiles at him and places his hand on Eddie’s thigh, palm up.
Eddie smiles back and grabs his hand, squeezing tightly.
“Okay,” he says, taking a deep breath. “I think it’s our turn to make dinner tonight – you ready?”
“Ready when you are,” Buck says, but he doesn’t let go until Eddie does.

After Chris has gone to sleep, after Eddie has finally stopped crying, after Buck has wrapped his knuckles and cleaned up the worst of the mess in Eddie’s bedroom – the shards, the pieces of drywall, the fallen furniture, he makes up the couch for Eddie to sleep on. Eddie wants to help him, to tell him that he’ll just sleep in his room, but he can’t seem to move from his seat at the dining table.
Everything feels like too much, his hands hurt and his head worse, and he can’t stand the thought of Buck leaving. He’s exhausted, but he knows he won’t sleep if Buck goes home now.
But he can’t ask him to stay, not after Buck already dropped everything because Eddie couldn’t keep it together. He probably had plans, and Eddie ruined those too.
He can already feel the hot burn of tears behind his eyes again and drops his forehead onto his arms, folded on the table in front of him.
Buck’s hand lands on his back, warm, then travels up to squeeze the back of his neck gently.
“You ready to sleep?” he murmurs, and Eddie makes a noncommittal sound. “Come on, you must be exhausted.”
Eddie shrugs and Buck’s thumb brushes along his hairline.
“You don’t have to go in there, I can get you anything you need,” Buck says quietly. “And I’ll be right next to you in case you have a nightmare.”
“You’re staying?” Eddie asks, lifting his head. Buck’s hand stays where it is.
“Of course, Eddie,” Buck says, like it’s that easy.
And maybe it is that easy, Eddie thinks when they settle in next to each other in the living room, Eddie on the couch and Buck on a makeshift bed next to it. He’s pushed the couch table to the side to make room for it and it looks like he’s dragged Eddie’s mattress here, so at least Eddie doesn’t need to worry about him sleeping on the floor.
They’ve been by each other’s side through so much shit, maybe it’s not such a surprise that Buck wants to be here now too. He’s just not sure he deserves it.
“I’m sorry,” he says, staring up at the ceiling instead of looking at Buck. “You had plans– I’m sure you didn’t want to–”
“You have nothing to apologize for,” Buck says firmly. “Of course I’ll come whenever Christopher calls. O–or if you need me. I’m here, okay?”
“I keep thinking about her,” Eddie mumbles, pressing the heels of his hands to his burning eyes. “Mills. Last August– I should’ve– if I’d picked up the phone earlier–”
“This isn’t on you.” There’s rustling and then Buck is gripping Eddie’s forearms, trying to gently pull his hands away from his face. “I d-don’t know what Mills was going through, but I know that you couldn’t have known how bad it was. It’s sad, and it’s unfair, but it’s not your fault. And I know you’re feeling all these things now, but Eddie– I’m so happy you’re still here. I need you to– know that. Okay?”
Eddie finally lowers his arms, but instead of letting go fully, Buck just grabs his right hand and holds on. His eyes are wide and scared, and Eddie has scared too many people he loves tonight.
“Okay,” he says, even though– well. What makes him special? Why should he be the only one to get out? He’s not a better person than any of them, he doesn’t have a right to happiness or whatever he’s been deluding himself into believing he could have.
But he knows that he can’t tell Buck that now (or ever), knows that it’s a dark road to go down.
Maybe for tonight, with Buck by his side, he can keep the thoughts at bay for a little bit longer. After that– he has no idea. But Buck is still holding his hand, and Eddie may not deserve him, but he trusts him.
He thinks it may just give him enough hope to get through this night.
+ I
“This was nice,” Buck says, holding the door for Eddie as they leave the restaurant. “You, uh, you really didn’t have to pay, though.”
“I wanted to,” Eddie says with a smile, glancing right towards their cars and then left to where the beach is only a short walk away, and finally back to Buck’s face, finding him already looking back. “How do you feel about taking a walk?”
Buck grins, turning left. “Let’s go.”
They’re not on a date, or at least they haven’t called it that, but Eddie has been thinking that it feels like one all night. Technically, they’re two friends trying out a new restaurant together. They drove here separately, no one pulled anyone’s chair out, they talked the same way they always do.
But Eddie spent half an hour picking something to wear tonight, Buck is wearing a shirt that looks new and gorgeous and fit for a date, and every time their eyes caught across the table, Eddie thought that maybe, Buck wouldn’t pull away if he reached out and took his hand.
It’s not the first time Eddie has thought that. Ever since Buck and Tommy broke up, it’s felt like maybe they’re heading towards something, familiar touches lingering and turning into something new, gazes catching and then holding instead of looking away.
Buck was upset for a little while afterwards, but he admitted to Eddie that it was more about another failed relationship – and his first one with a man, after he thought he’d finally figured out what was missing, than about Tommy as a person.
He went on a couple of dates, with men and women, but nothing ever stuck.
Eddie was going through his own stuff at the time – he eventually came out to Buck a week before Chris finally came home, and Buck hasn’t been on a date since.
Sometimes, Eddie wonders (hopes), if the two things are related.
Still, neither of them has called tonight a date – yet.
Eddie glances at Buck’s profile while they’re walking, and wonders what he’s waiting for.
Yes, it’s scary because Buck is the most important person in his life right after Christopher, but it’s also not, because this is Buck. Who has been by Eddie’s side through the worst, most painful, most humiliating times of his life, and is still here. Buck, who Eddie trusts with his life, and his son, and his heart.
Buck smiles at him and Eddie smiles back, heartbeat picking up. He’s doing this, he’s gonna tell Buck how he feels. Any minute now, he’s gonna be brave enough.
“Hey,” Buck says, “it’s just me.”
“I know,” Eddie says, and his heart thumps against his ribs. He lets his fingers brush against Buck’s on their next swing and watches as Buck bites his lip, smiling down at the ground. Hushed, like a confession, he adds, “Are you nervous, too?”
Buck looks back up at him then, eyes glittering in the dark. “Y-yeah. I am.”
They’ve reached the edge of the beach by now and bend down to take off their shoes without having to talk about it.
When they start walking again, they’re even closer than before, the backs of their hands, their elbows and shoulders all brushing with every step.
Eddie keeps stealing glances at Buck, and almost every time, Buck is already looking back.
There aren’t many people at the beach at this time of day, so they don’t come close to anyone else, and all they hear is the sand beneath their feet and the waves crashing a few feet away. The moon is big enough to be reflected on the sea, a beautiful sight, but Eddie still can’t look away from Buck for long.
“So, this is, uh, kind of romantic,” Buck blurts out after a few quiet minutes. “Right? I–I’m not misreading that?”
“No,” Eddie says. “I mean– you’re not misreading it.”
“But you’re nervous.”
When their knuckles brush again, Eddie stretches out his fingers and catches Buck’s, holding on. Buck’s own fingers tighten immediately, and it gives Eddie the last bit of courage he needs.
“Well, yeah. Buck–” He stops walking, and Buck follows, turning so he’s facing Eddie. He’s close enough that Eddie can see his expression despite the dark, and he looks terrified, hopeful, nervous and excited at the same time, all of which Eddie feels, too. Eddie takes a deep breath. “I’m nervous because– nothing…no one’s ever been this important.”
A smile spreads out across Buck’s face, slowly deepening the crinkles around his eyes. “So this was a date?”
“Did it feel like one to you, too?”
Buck’s smile widens. “Yeah, i–it did. And I’m–I’m nervous too, of course. Eddie, if we do this, there’s no going back for me. I can’t– lose you. You and Christopher, you’re too important.”
He pulls on Eddie’s hand a little, and Eddie takes another step closer, drops his shoes in the sand and places his free hand on Buck’s shoulder, thumb resting against his collarbone.
“It’s the same for me,” he says quietly. He shivers when Buck grabs his waist, the warmth of his hand seeping through Eddie’s shirt. “I– We don’t know what’s gonna happen. But, Buck– I love you. I love you so much, I have for…way longer than I was aware of it, and I just don’t see that going away. And I don’t think it’s fair to us to deny ourselves when I really think we could make each other– so happy. I know I can make you happy, and I want to prove it to you every day of my life, Buck.”
Buck is just staring at him with a dazed expression, his lips slightly parted, and Eddie suddenly can’t stand not kissing him for a second longer.
He slides his hand from Buck’s shoulder to the back of his neck, watches Buck’s eyes flutter shut and feels his fingers tighten on his waist, and then he’s finally, finally closing the distance between them.
Buck makes a soft sound against his mouth, like he’s still somehow surprised this is happening, but he gets on board very quickly, and Eddie stops thinking entirely.
When they pull back breathlessly, Eddie’s hair is a mess – he can feel the loose strands on his forehead – his lips are still tingling, and Buck’s got both arms wrapped around him tightly.
“In case that wasn’t clear,” Buck gasps, and lifts a hand to cup Eddie’s cheek. His thumb brushes over Eddie’s chin and caresses his lower lip, and Eddie presses a kiss to the pad of it. “I love you, too.”

Dear Mouthwashing fandom, explain to me, why next to the incredible fan art, I find a fuck ton of shipping content, especially between characters where this is highly problematic? SPOILERS FOR MOUTHWASHING AHEAD CN for talk about sexual abuse, death, suicide & violence
DISCLAIMER: I do not shame the general practice of shipping at all. I am a shipper myself and I think it makes up for a lot of interesting dynamics and narratives outside the canon. Shipping is an important pillar of fandom communities and I am unable to forbid you to do it. HOWEVER, in the case of Mouthwashing I want to talk about what, in my opinion, feels tone-deaf to the themes and the canon of the game. But let me start with a short summary of the game before I get into it.
Mouthwashing is basically a visual novel that takes place on the Tulpar, the last manned cargo ship of the company Pony Express. The crew, consisting of Caption Curly, Co-Captain Jimmy, Nurse Anya, Mechanic Swansea and his intern Daisuke, is confronted with a crash against an asteroid and the consequences following it. The story is told out of order to reveal the truth bit by bit. What caused the crash, what happened and how the crew deals with the time afterward being stuck on the ship. Revealing sexual abuse, tragic backstories, the horrible side effects of late state capitalism and the neglect of people in command towards the people they are responsible for.
To boil it down we have two men who, out of societal misogyny, hurt the only woman on their crew by assaulting her or not acting as they should have in their position of responsibility. All of this would not have happened if Jimmy didn't rape Anya and impregnate her, and if Curly had disciplined Jimmy in a capacity possible on the ship and in Jimmy's position as co-pilot. To be honest, with the amount of automatization the ship has, I don't think they need Jimmy if it is not a case of emergency, but I digress. Jimmy is the perpetrator of the story, but Curly is an accomplice in putting his aim of finding a solution and compromise over punishing his subordinate as he should have.
And now to my actual point: I am a big fan of the game, the narration style and the utter tragedy of 5 people losing their lives in the isolation of space, with their company not giving a shit about them. Otherwise, they might have been rescued much earlier or at all. Or had enough cryo pots in the first place. Or a nurse with experience. Or any amount of better equipment and not the most cheap shit that somehow made it through a resemblance of regulations. There are probably no regulations.
Being a fan I, of course, looked into the hashtags on several social media sites, and between the incredible art and analysis of the game, I quickly found shipping content, and I have no idea why. I have literally no idea how that narrative speaks to you in a way of shipping characters romantically/sexually. Especially three shippings really rub me the wrong way.
ANYA/JIMMY
Are you fucking kidding me? Literally, what is wrong with you shipping a victim with their abuser? There was not one interaction between them, that suggest that there was consent or affection, that Jimmy has any sympathy for Anya. He knows what is going on, he knows that Anya is pregnant and takes no responsibility. Even worse, his idea of FIXING this was to kill everyone, at least himself, to avoid responsibility! Same goes for AUs where she kept the baby and is somehow okay and happy? I get the urge to fix it, but that is not a good fix. There is no good fix if you are pregnant due to rape.
ANYA/CURLY
A lot of argument I hear for that is that "at least Curly is her friend and was nice to her" and if that is your whole foundation of argument, I want to ask what your standards for a relationship are. Please know that you deserve more than the bare minimum. Another question in that context: Is Curly really Anya's friend? His friend was abused and instead of protecting her, he tried to reason and help her abuser! That is not the behavior of a friend! There is no "but Jimmy is his friend too!". If your friend is an abuser and that does not make you stop being their friend....why?
JIMMY/CURLY
It feels like it is a law on the internet, that two men who look at least averagely handsome will be shipped, especially if they have the tiniest of connection to each other. I am not even sure if I would call them friends in the first place. It appears that Jimmy, whatever his bad life before that job was (thanks to the developers for not giving us a backstory), he is still absolutely unsatisfied with that he has. He is jealous of Curly and his position, seeing how quickly he takes on the Captain title after the crash and only realizes far too late how hard the position actually is. Curly on the other hand feels a bit like a people pleaser to me. He probably had pity for Jimmy, took him under his wing to help him? Fix him? Whatever it is, it made him ignore Jimmy's bad side to a fatal degree. I respect the toxic yaoi but are you sure?
TLDR; I am worried about how the practice of shipping developed, from a way to extend the canon, explore queerness in cis/straight dominated media, into a compulsion of where some people can't look at any form of media or constellation of characters without immediately smashing them together like dolls. If you do this, maybe step back for a minute and ask yourself if it is appropriate. On that note, same goes in case you defend Jimmy. Why?

saw this post in the tag earlier talking about how we never really get a detailed look inside Maligula’s mind, and it got me thinking about the themes of the game again so I’m gonna use it as a jumping-off point. because i agree, it’s very significant that we never get to really see Maligula/Lucrecia as she used to be! but i think that fact actually makes the game much stronger, especially on a thematic level.
Lucrecia’s presence haunts the narrative throughout Psychonauts 2. at first, we can only make her out through her absence. she’s the seventh stump around the campfire, the missing center of a torn photo. we see glimpses of her in the ruined fragments of Ford’s mind. in Helmut’s mind, she’s a looming specter, a shadow of the friend he once knew. in Gristol’s mind, she’s a celebrated war hero. and as the game goes on, we learn that everything in Psychonauts 1 – the Aquatos leaving Grulovia, the family ‘curse’, Raz running away to camp – all of that was set in motion because of her. she’s at the very center of the tragedy that PN2 revolves around.
and she does haunt the narrative, even if Nona is still alive. because the old Lucrecia – the real Lucrecia – we never get to meet her. she’s long gone.
the closest we come to actually interacting with Lucrecia, as she used to be, is in Cassie’s mind. while the rest of the Psychic 7 only have a few lines to share, paper Lucrecia has a full dialogue tree. this is probably one of my favourite moments in the whole game. there’s an awe in Raz’s face, getting to meet her, but also this palpable tension throughout the conversation.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(screenshots taken from here! if you don’t remember this conversation, or just want a refresher, i’d highly recommend going back to watch it.)
this dialogue tree is great. it’s funny, and subtle, and surprisingly moving. Raz is full of questions for Lucrecia, and Lucrecia isn’t giving much away, but we get glimpses of her story here that are so tantalising. it’s a fascinating window into the person she used to be: coy, and playful, and a little aloof.
but – this is also very clearly not Lucy. we hear Cassie’s own thoughts coming out of her mouth (“Cassie told us [hydraulic mining] was very bad for the environment, but nobody listened to her, as usual”), but her dialogue is also steeped in Cassie’s confusion, her struggle to understand what happened (“I don’t really know [why I murdered all those people]. I was the nicest person during my time at Green Needle Gulch”). this is the closest we ever get to seeing Lucrecia, face-to-face, but she’s still heavily filtered through someone else’s perception.
Tumblr media
how much of this is the real Lucrecia, and how much of it is just how Cassie sees her? we’ll never know.
i think a crucial part of PN2’s themes is that perception – how you can be someone completely different to different people around you. everyone has their own version of the story to tell. the most obviously propagandistic is Gristol’s retelling, which comes as a shock twist at a climactic moment that throws the whole game on its head. here, we get to see the other side of the story, from someone who only ever knew Lucrecia as a protector, a general, a murderer – and thought she should stay that way.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(screenshots from here)
but as entrenched as he is in his narrative, Gristol doesn’t have all the answers, either. and Ford’s version of events, while probably more factually correct, is still steeped in his own biases. Ford was so dedicated to the memory of the woman he loved that he did terrible things for her; and when he tried to bury that memory, it was so deeply entrenched in his mind that it broke him.
Tumblr media
(screenshot from here)
but note the wording, when he talks about using the Astralathe to “neutralise” the “problematic” parts of her mind. My Lucy.
something else that PN2 touches on is how experiences change you. after the battle against Maligula, the remaining members of the Psychic 7 become very different individuals. Cassie withdraws from the world, unable to return to normality after everything that happened; Compton becomes an anxious wreck without his support network. Bob is broken with grief after the loss of his husband, and Ford willingly shattered his mind because it was what he thought he had to do to keep Lucrecia safe. and throughout the game, Raz helps all of them – but he doesn’t fix them. he doesn’t undo everything they went through, because how could he? the things that happened will stay with each of them forever.
and it’s the same with Lucrecia. even after she lets go of the rage and grief and violence that Maligula carried with her, symbolically severing the threads that bind her to her past – she doesn’t just go back to her old self. because she’s someone different now, too. she’s a mother, and a grandmother, and she loves her family so truly and so deeply. she’s patched together a new life for herself. and that’s what she affirms to Raz, in the moments before the final fight.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and he loves her right back. even after everything he’s learned, she’s still his Nona.
i think sometimes a story is more satisfying for not giving you the easy answers. Psychonauts 2 leaves a lot of things unsaid. it gives you pieces of the puzzle, glimpses of Lucrecia’s story through other people’s eyes, and asks you to draw your own conclusions from that. and then it says: this is who she is now. this is what matters. and personally, i think it’s stronger for that.

I think it would be fun if darkwick has like a radio committee/club where they would read anonymous messages/letters for the school. Maybe they can invite the students as guest speaker too. I need Ed to be invited only for him to be like joke around and just beating around the bush haha hihi and then he dropped some big scandal/secret for all the school to hear.
How it works is the host will announce who the next guest speaker would be and then people can send anonymous letters, it can be about the guest or anyone, then the guest will have to read the letter there. On a live radio.
Yuri will either rant about darkwick general or openly threat frostheim students and endangering the radio committee.
Jiro will actually be pretty normal and give tips regarding student health. Until he read one anonymous letter with smth like love confession or poetry that's soooo Zenji style and he'd be like "...where did you get this?"
Subaru reading anonymous letters (sent by Leo) to corner him into spilling the beans about himself. Poor guy would struggle in front of the mic.
Can I be biased here? I want Haku to read a bunch of love letters lololol (i would send him tons tbh) JUST TO HEAR HIM oh-so-seductively CHUCKLE EVERY 5 SECONDS LETTER AFTER LETTER until I realize I wasn't the only one because some girl two seats away from me is giggling to herself hearing Haku reading her letter out loud. "Ahaha... so many love letters, are you guys sure it's all for me? All your love??? For a guy like me? I must've been a hero in my past life."
As for Tohma he would either read complaints or blatant complaints from another Frostheimers (i feel like he could tell just from the handwritting alone that the sender is from his house) and after reading the entire content he would go, "Thank you for the heartfelt letter, MR FUJI. I'll be sure to assess myself better but I would need more detailed information on your view regarding my performance as the Vice Captain. Please come to the Vault and be sure to come on time after this radio session. Should you be too busy, I can always interro– I mean interview your closent friend, the honor student. After all I don't mind having her attention all to myself." Or something along the line bcs he'd play dirty like that. (That's so hot of him tho i would at least admit it)
Sho wouldn't really be a guest speaker but if the radio committee needs to make some quick buck they could open a paid promotion and you would hear the committee promoting HTH lol. Like telling the audience about Discount of The Day that you wouldn't know unless you listen to the radio.
Also Haru would probably do the same too! He would want the radio to promote the safari lol.
Ritsu... can the committee even convince him to spare some time in his schedule to be their guest speaker? Would he charge them money? 😭 What if he starts spouting some laws about some legal wrongdoings the radio committee has done (which they didn't even realize) just by making this whole radio thing A THING.
Kinda same with Ritsu, the committee would have to pay Romeo for him to come. I just wish Kaito would send him a letter and everyone would hear Romeo curse tf out of that letter. I think by the end of the session he should put a bounty on Kaito's head. Just because.
What if someone say some bad things about Haru and then Towa IMMEDIATELY storm the studio or zap the radio tower 😭
Mizuki Rui dating advice session? Mizuki Rui dating advice session. Just like Haku he would receive anonymous love letters (or not anonymous. Honestly i would be bold too if it's him). They'd be such a huge confidence booster for him lol and he would give the senders cute nicknames if they're not anonymous.
There has to be messages about the teachers too. Hyde reading anonymous letter in which he could tell Sho was the sender. Students shit-talking about Moby and his weird ass idol obsession (i would be the sender just watch), *cough* students being nosy about the relationship between Benkei and Nicholas *cough* well well MC PLEASE MAKE THIS RADIO A PLACE FOR YOU TO LET YOUR HEART OUT PLEASEEEE YOU SHOULD BE GIVEN A FREEDOM OF SPEECH AT THE VERY LEAST 😭
The rest of them would either not care enough about the radio or become the sender. Leo would prefer to be the sender, i think. Ren would only send anonymous letter when Haru is the speaker to let everyone knows he dislike him and dislike being put in Jabberwock. Zenji will always send his poetry and probably most speakers would find it hard to understand his works, let alone reading them out loud 😭 Zenji himself would love to be the speaker but oh well~ still, it's an opportunity to spread positivity and hopefully he can brighten someone's day with his work.

this is such an important reminder. you don't have to give them a whole ass essay about why they should be feminists. just give them little bits, and maybe they will get curious about it and look into it themselves.
my best friend is a radfem but for years she did not talk to me about it. I dated an abusive man, wore makeup, said I wasn't a feminist, etc. and she never made me feel judged for it. she was there to support me and be my friend, because that was what I needed at that time. if she had started talking to me about feminism, I probably would have stopped talking to her.
thanks to her and other women in my life who uplifted me and empowered me to get out of the abusive situation I was in, I was able to get back on my feet. then, when I discovered radical feminism on my own, it finally clicked. let women discover it for themselves. let it click for them.
there is a big difference between spreading the word about something and preaching to people when they didn't ask. effective activism does the former.
I wore a dress recently (rare occurrence for me) and one of my friends was like, “Honey you look great but would you like some tips on shaving your legs?” And I explained to her that I don’t really like shaving my legs so I just don’t do it. And she asked if that’s why I usually wear pants and I said no I wear whatever is comfortable to me, shaved legs or not. And it was like I literally blew her mind.
This is what I mean when I say you should have empathy for women with internalized misogyny. I don’t mean having empathy for women who are abusive to you for being a woman. I mean empathy for women who genuinely don’t know that what they’re saying is sexist. I don’t think my friend even knew it was sexist of her to say that at all, she probably just thought it was a little rude (sometimes, when you’re close with someone, it’s okay to be a little rude because you know you love each other). These ideas were not things she had previously been exposed to at all. Instead of telling her to kill herself for having internalized misogyny, WHICH ALL WOMEN HAVE, I introduced her to feminist ideas. And you know what? I’ve noticed she stopped shaving her arm pits recently. And she hasn’t said anything about my legs again. 🤷‍♀️

“cause I'm a jealous girl”
Tumblr media
— ( 🎙️ ) " it didn't feel like that when you were talking to her" she says her eyes almost looking hurt and mad
— ( 🖋️ ) fluff and angst , arguing , jelous lara , swearing, possessiveness (?) , some parts are lyrics!, drugs , drinking , party ,if I have forgotten any tags please tell me mwa
— ( 🎬 ) new theme! hope you guys like it ^^ , my themes are heavily inspired by @/ninguitar so please do check out their blog
the party was packed—people were squished together , many were passed out drunk and not to mention some were taking drugs
the only reason you came here in the first place was for your girlfriend lara, she loved parties and lively energy that surges throughout the place—it kept her alive and thriving
as usual lara was drinking and having fun with some of her friends, you decided to stay in the corner with some liquor in your hands , taking a swig — the burning sensation quickly made it's way to your throat making you wince
"you look amazing!" you hear someone compliment lara, she in fact looked amazing—she truly is a masterpiece in your perspective
"thanks!—i could say the same about you" lara replies her hands are now on the woman's waist — a little too much for your liking but you trust lara she's just naturally friendly right?
"ooh someones jelly" manon teases as she looks at where you were staring, "am not" you said with the same playful tone , you were , actually you were very much jelous — lara should be with you not with her either way you let it be
"whatever you say — besides you are practically just sitting in the corner the whole night! , talk to people you might just make new friends" manon suggests which you took into consideration
wasting no time you lift yourself off the couch and walk towards the table where some drinks were placed , men were glued to this spot which icked you but you saw some girls here earlier , maybe they'll come back
"hi there!" you hear a woman say behind you , you turn around to be greeted by a short woman , you knew her she was talking to lara earlier — either way she looks nice and honestly someone you wouldn't guess goes to parties like these
"hii~ I'm y/n how about you?" you ask giving her a warm smile , "ezrela! , you're lara's girlfriend right??" she replies with the same enthusiastic voice
"yep! , and you participated in the dream academy too right??" you ask a bit of doubt in your voice since you weren't sure , "sure did! — it was honestly very fun" ezrela replies to which you ask more about
a good 20 minutes passed by and you didn't even notice ezrela was really nice and friendly, her humor was a lot like yours
you felt a pair of eyes glued to you , surprise surprise it's lara she was watching you and ezrela talk like you two had been friends since birth , gosh her rbf was stronger now
"i hate to say this but I have to go" you said frowning at ezrela, she smiles instead and asks for your number to which you gave her "see you soon??" you ask , "sure!" she replies
you walk towards your girlfriend who looked like she would beat the fuck out of you , you knew she could never but she just looked so mad
"you remember me?" she says her voice dripping in faux surprise, here it starts, you could never catch a break can you? , "what do you mean? love don't tell me you're mad"
"what — I'm not just curious what you guys were talking about , you were smiling like a stupid kid" she replied, first she said you look like a stupid kid which A. you didn't and B. shes just mad , second she was very jealous
"we were talking about her experience in the dream academy" you replied hands on her arms , you can smell the air around you it smelt like cheap beer and sweat but lara smelled amazing like a musky and fresh one
she didn't reply for a minute seemingly thinking about what you said her face was still — like rbf? or maybe confused you didn't know
"oh her experience?" lara said emphasizing her , her fists curl into a ball , you knew she wasn't mad at ezrela she could never that woman was like the sweetest soul you know next to yoonchae
"baby why are you mad?? — you know I love you right?" you said reassuring her , as you take her hands into yours massaging her palm with your thumb
"it didn't look like that when you were talking to her" lara says her eyes looking hurt and mad , you messed up big time
"baby I love you so much" you tell her kissing her lips, repeating the words like a mantra , "I love you so much, I'm all yours don't worry" you said as you place the last kiss on her hands
"really?" lara asks there was no doubt in her voice , you knew that she knew you loved her
"really, now can we enjoy ourselves — I can't waste the night when you look so pretty" you say a giggle escaping your mouth you walk her towards the middle and dance sensually to the song
"baby I'm a gangster too and it takes two to tango"
"you don't wanna mess with me (mess with me) cause I'm a jealous jelous jelous girl" she repeats the lyrics

“Y/N, you should be wrapped up in bubble wrap.”
Y/N rolled her eyes and leaned back in her chair as she stared up at the ceiling, “You're not helping me.”
Her best friend, Kim Mingyu, let out a laugh and shrugged his shoulders, “I never said I was going to help you.”
Y/N let out a groan and sat back up in her chair, “It wasn’t that embarrassing...”
Mingyu tossed a chip into his mouth as he raised his eyebrow, “You knocked down a whole shelf in his classroom and then you broke his door when you tried to flee the scene. I think that's pretty embarrassing.”
She crumbled up a piece of paper and tossed it at Mingyu’s head as she pouted, “Your so fucking annoying.”
“You just need confidence to be in the same room as him.”
“It’s not that easy...”
Park Y/N is clumsy, there’s no getting around that. From the moment she could walk, her parents knew she would cause heart attacks. Not from being pretty but from worrying them to the point their heart gives out. There were times when she wished she was like her older sister, Park Umiko and maybe then Kim Seokjin could fall in love with her. Seokjin would fall in love with someone who was a world-class ballerina and not a clumsy teacher. Umiko was elegant and she had this aura that brought people in. Umiko never tripped or broke something when she saw her crush, if anything they were tripping to get to her first.
Seokjin has been her crush for the past two years and it’s embarrassing. For starters, she’s twenty-six. Who has crushes when you're almost thirty? The second reason is, everyone knows she likes him. When she says everyone, she means everyone. All the students talk about it in the hallways and some even have bets when the teacher is going to confess. If she could, she would die but she doesn’t have good health insurance so...staying alive it is.
Mingyu frowned at her and stood up from the desk he was sitting at. He walked towards her and placed a hand on her shoulder, “Y/N, you want to get dinner? My treat so you can forget this day.”
Y/N looked up at him and nodded his head, “Can we get ramen with those special eggs?”
“Yes and yes you can get a beer.”
Y/N stood up as fast as she could and grabbed her bag, “Make it two beers.”
Mingyu rolled his eyes and nodded his head, “Whatever you want.”
Y/N nodded her head at this, “Let me drink to forget.”
“You're such a drama queen.”
They walked out of the classroom and she glared at Mingyu, “No, I’m not.”
Y/N walked off but Mingyu rolled his eyes and leaned against the wall, “Forgetting something?”
Y/N stopped halfway in the hall and let out a groan. She walked back and pointed at Mingyu, “Shut up.” She closed her door and locked it up with a pout. This was the fourth time this week that she forgot to lock up her classroom. It’s Tuesday. She turned towards Mingyu with a glare, “I told you to shut up.”
“I didn’t even say anything.”
“Your face says enough.”
They walked out of the school and went to the teacher parking lot. Along the way, Mingyu was making fun of her and the events that happened that day. She unlocked her car but stopped when she saw Seokjin getting into his car. The way he got into his car and still looked good needed to be studied. She didn’t understand how someone could be so handsome and cute at the same time. She shook her head and started walking but froze when she heard her name.
She slowly turned around and saw Seokjin giving her a soft smile from his window, “Have a good night! See you in the morning!”
She gave him a small wave and blinked her eyes, “Y-Yeah, se-see you in the morning.”
She turned around to walk to her car but tripped on her shoelaces causing her to fall face first. Mingyu stood in the back and watched all this with an amused look. He sighed and shook his head. He went towards Y/N and helped her up, “So about the bubble wrap.”
“Mingyu, I will run you over with my car.”
“If you can walk to your car without tripping then I’ll be scared.”
She bit her lip and looked past Mingyu’s shoulder to see that Seokjin was already gone. She let out a small breath and placed her hand on top of her chest, “Thank god he didn’t see that.”
Mingyu patted the top of her head, “Let’s get you those beers to erase the embarrassment.”
She smacked his hand away and crossed her arms over her chest, “Is Seungcheol going to be there?”
Mingyu raised his eyebrow as he opened the car door for her, “Yeahhh....why?”
“I’m going to tell him that you were messing with me.”
“O-Oi!”
The crush on Kim Seokjin happened so fast that it made scientists confused. Y/N had crushes and past relationships but she never felt this way towards someone. Every time she saw Seokjin smile the world would stop and it was just them. It was the story that parents would read to their children for bedtime (ignoring the fact that she wasn’t with him but you get the point).
Two years of her constantly running away from him was now causing problems in her personal life. Her mother (bless her heart), was worried for her. So like any worried mother, you set up blind dates with your friend's son. Of course, Y/N entertained her mother by going on these dates but Y/N would always find a way to leave early (she’s really good at lying). “My friend is having an emergency, I need to check up on her. It was nice meeting you though.” “My roommate had to take my dog to the vet because something happened. I have to go.” (She didn’t have a roommate nor a dog).
Her ex-boyfriend and close friend, Lim Jaebeom, has told her so many times to open her world up but she couldn’t. She fell for Seokjin hard and she was too stubborn to change her mind. All the guys that her mother set her up with, they weren’t bad but they weren’t Seokjin. It wasn’t the math teacher who could explain algebra to anyone or the teacher who sometimes took over the PE class. It wasn’t Seokjin and that’s what made them bad. The day she met Kim Seokjin was the day that was her downfall.
Y/N sat in the meeting room typing away on her laptop for her next class. She heard the chair next to her and looked away from the screen to see, Jung Hoseok giving her a soft smile. Hoseok was her work friend and among all the teachers, she liked him the best. He was the dance teacher but on top of that, he was the earth science teacher. Two subjects that Y/N will never understand.
“Did you hear?”
Y/N tilted her head at Hoseok with a confused look, “Noo....?”
“Since Mr. Lee retired, we’re getting a new math teacher. It’s their first day today.”
“Oh? It’s already a month into the new school year, isn’t it kind of late?”
Hoseok shrugged his shoulders and leaned back in the chair, “Yeah but Namjoon said he needed a teacher fast and he was the best teacher he interviewed.”
“I hope he isn’t like Mr. Lee.”
Hoseok let out a small laugh, “It was fun hearing his conspiracies about the world.”
Y/N shook her head at this and looked back at her laptop, “He was telling the students that the moon landing never happened and how Europe is made up.”
“To be fair, England isn’t real.”
Y/N rolled her eyes and let out a small laugh, “Hoseok, I can’t with you.”
“It’s true.”
Y/N finished the last sentence and smiled to herself, “All done. Do you want some coffee? I’m gonna grab some.”
Hoseok nodded his head, “Pleaseee~.”
The principal always made sure the staff was taken care of with goodies from his sister’s bakery. This time Namjoon brought coffee and strawberry shortcake. She poured the coffee and when she turned around she saw the new teacher walk in. He was in a simple white t-shirt and glasses and she glanced down at his plump lips. He was handsome. So handsome that it made her question. Why the hell is he a teacher? He should be an actor or a K-pop idol. She turned back around and felt her face get hot. She was going to introduce herself and make it known that she was cool. He looked like he liked cool girls.
She turned around but didn’t notice her foot was on top of the tablecloth. She fell on the floor with the cake landing on her head. She rubbed her ankle and opened her eyes to see Seokjin laughing with the other math teacher, Suan Choi. She felt her whole body get hot and she went to get up but slipped on the frosting making her fall back down. Hoseok quickly made his way to her and gave her a concerned look, “Are you okay?”
No, she was not okay nor will she ever be okay, “I-I’m okay.”
Hoseok helped her up and gave her his signature smile, “I’ll give you a 10/10 for that landing.”
She took some frosting and put it on his face, “Shut up.”
“Y/N, did you hear me?”
She turned her head to see Mingyu snapping his fingers in her face. She grabbed his wrist and twisted it, “I’m not a dog.”
“H-Hey, I’m sorry.”
She let go of his wrist and leaned back on his couch, “What did you say?”
He rubbed his wrist and pouted, “You’re mean. I asked if you were ready to go on that date tomorrow?”
She scoffed at this and took a sip of her beer, “No, my mom said this one is a good one.”
He raised his eyebrow and rubbed her shoulder gently, “You should tell her that you don’t want this.”
“I can’t say no to her. I hate seeing her sad.”
Mingyu frowned, “What about you being sad?”
“I’m not sad...I get free food.”
Choi Seungcheol walked in and glanced at Y/n with a worried look. He dried his hair off with his towel and sat next to her, “Should you be drinking more? You have work tomorrow. You had two beers at the restaurant.”
She pouted at Seungcheol and shook her head, “This is my last one and I'll go to bed.”
Seungcheol sighed and shook his head, “Y/N, you need to take better care of yourself.”
“It’s not my fault my embarrassment is making me drink.”
Mingyu let out a small laugh and shook his head, “That’s not how it works.”
Seungcheol glared at Mingyu (who immediately stopped laughing) and gave Y/N a gentle smile, “It’s going to be okay. Don’t think too much of it.”
Y/N placed her beer on the coffee table and nodded her head, “I-I just don’t know what to do Cheoooolll!” She wrapped her arms around his waist and he sighed. He gently rubbed her back as she cried into his chest, “It’s okay, Y/N. Let’s get you in bed.”
Mingyu stood up and grabbed her slippers, “You can sleep in my bed.”
Y/N looked at Mingyu and she gave him a tearful smile, “Really? I-I feel bad taking your bed.”
“I can share a bed with Seungcheol. It’s okay.”
Seungcheol picked Y/N up with ease and nodded his head, “Just get some sleep. I’ll have water and pills ready for you in the morning.”
“You guys are my best friends. I love you guys so much.”
“Yes, we know.”
They walked into the hallway and Seungcheol placed Y/N on the bed. He put the blanket on top of her and smiled at her, “Hopefully tomorrow is a better day, Y/N.”
She glanced at Seungcheol and nodded her head, “I-to think that.”
Seungcheol sighed and got up from the bed. He glanced at Mingyu, “We need to help her with this problem. She can’t keep drinking her embarrassment away.”
“I know but I don’t know what more we can do.”
“We’ll figure it out. Let’s go to bed.”
The next morning, Y/N woke up to her alarm blasting in her ear. She frowned and glanced at the time. She locked her phone and looked up at the ceiling, Another day to embarrass myself. She groaned when the second alarm started and she slowly sat up, “I’m up.”
She slipped her feet into her slippers and dragged herself into the living room. Walking into the living room, she saw Mingyu cooking breakfast and Seungcheol setting the table, “Good morning...”
Seungcheol turned towards her and smiled, “Your water is on the table with your pills.”
“Thank you...sorry for this happening again.”
Seungcheol shook his head and pulled the chair for her, “I’m just happy you went to sleep and were safe. Now sit.”
The morning went on like normal and Seungcheol drove Y/N to work this time. He was talking to her about Jaebeom and how he was planning on visiting soon. Y/N was surprised to hear this and looked at Seungcheol, “He didn’t tell me he was coming...”
“He probably wanted to surprise you. When he comes, just act shocked so I won’t get in trouble.”
She saluted him and nodded her head, “Whatever you say.”
He pulled in and smiled at her, “I’ll be picking you up. Mingyu pulled your car into the garage so don’t worry about it.”
Y/N nodded her head and gathered all her bags, “Thank you~. I’ll see you tonight.”
“Be careful today. Please.”
She pouted and nodded her head, “Yes Dad.”
Seungcheol got out of the car and opened her door. He gave her a smile, “See you tonight.”
She waved goodbye to him and walked towards the entrance of the school. She glanced up at the window and saw Seokjin talking to Suan. She watched Suan grab Seokjin’s arm, laughing at something he said. She frowned at this and shook her head. No negative thoughts. It’s too early. She walked into the building and heard her name. She turned around and smiled, “Good morning, Hoseok.”
“Good morning~. I was going to ask if you wanted to get coffee with me real quick before school starts.”
Y/N thought about it and shrugged her shoulders, “Sure, let me drop my things off in my class.”
“Let me grab that bag to make things easier.”
“Thanks.”
The two walked back outside talking about their lessons for the day. Unaware of eyes on their backs.
Kim Seokjin was born into a family filled with doctors. It was a shock to everyone when he wanted to become a teacher. His parents supported him and even offered to pay for his college but he refused. He wanted to achieve everything on his own. Finding a job in Korea was hard, especially for teachers. Every school he went to was too uptight and it didn’t feel right. Getting accepted to Map of Soul Academy was purely by chance. He remembers the day when he got the call from Namjoon.
Seokjin was on his couch watching the K-drama on TV. Park Jimin entered the room and raised his eyebrow, “It’s noon on a Monday. Why are you here?”
Seokjin pouted and grabbed his ice cream from the coffee table, “I have nowhere to be.”
Jimin sighed and frowned at his roommate, “I’m going to guess you didn’t get the callback.”
“Very good.”
Seokjin looked up at the ceiling and sighed, “Maybe becoming a teacher was stupid. I should’ve become a doctor.”
Jimin shook his head and sat on the couch next to Seokjin, “Don’t say that Jin. This is what you wanted to do. Don’t give up.”
“That’s easy for you to say. You have a job.”
Jimin scoffed at this, “Dude, I hate my job. At least you're trying to use your degree.”
Before Seokjin could say anything, his phone started ringing. He pulled his phone out of his pocket and he straightened up. He placed the ice cream in Jimin’s lap and picked up the phone, “Hello this is Kim Seokjin.”
“Hey, Jin. It’s Namjoon. I don’t if you remember me from college.”
“Oh, I do. We had Biology together.”
Seokjin heard a sigh of relief and he glanced at Jimin. Jimin raised his eyebrow and mouthed, “What’s going on?”. Making Seokjin shrug his shoulders, “Seokjin, would you like to have an interview today for a math teacher position here at Map of Soul Academy?”
Seokjin stood up and nodded his head, “Yeah, I would love to have that interview.”
“Is three o'clock okay?”
“Yes, I’ll see you then.”
“See you then, thank you again.”
Seokjin turned towards Jimin and gave him a proud smile, “I’m putting that degree to work today.”
“You should wash your face. You have chocolate on your face.”
He was forever grateful to Namjoon for giving him this job. Map of Soul Academy was a unique school. Unlike other schools, Map of Soul has four schools within one campus. Each school was based on different subjects, media, science, business, and medicine. He was hired into the media school and met unique teachers. It was clear that the media school was more lively than the other schools. Hoseok being the energetic earth science teacher and Kim Taehyung, the relaxed art teacher who only shows excitement towards art. It was rather different from what he expected.
There was also L/N Y/N, the clumsy history teacher that brought smiles all around campus. It was clear that Y/N was popular with all the students. She is compassionate and fun to be around with but he wouldn’t know this because she always ran away from him. Ever since he first met her, he was intrigued by her. She wasn’t like any women he met, which is a good thing.
“Ms. L/N, what can I do to help you?” Seokjin watched Y/N enter his classroom with papers in her hands, hiding her face. He tilted his head at her and frowned, “Are you okay?”
Y/N let out a small cough and nodded her head. She handed him the papers but didn’t make eye contact with him. Before he could ask what the papers were, she ran away. It was obvious that her eyes were closed because she ran straight into the wall making his shelves fall down. He stood up from his desk with a worried look, “Ms. L/N, are you okay?”
She rubbed her forehead and ran towards the door. They made quick eye contact and she slammed the door close which caused the door to fall from the hinges. He blinked his eyes and let out a small laugh, “Cute.”
After fixing his classroom, he went to his car to end his long day. He got into his car but before he could leave the parking lot, he saw Y/N looking at him with wide eyes. He gave her a soft smile and popped his head out of the window and gave her a small wave, “Have a good night! See you in the morning!”
She gave him a small wave and blinked her eyes, “Y-Yeah, se-see you in the morning.”
He smiled to himself and watched her trip on her shoelaces. He went to unbuckle his seatbelt but saw a tall man help her up. He frowned at this, it wasn’t the first time she saw this man with Y/N. He had no idea who he was but it was clear that they were close. He shook his head and drove out of the parking lot. He looked through the mirror and watched the man get into Y/N’s car. He wondered who he was and what he was towards Y/N.
Seokjin sat at the dinner table as his mother gave him a soft smile, “Did Seok-joong tell you?”
Seokjin looked up from his rice and glanced at his older brother, “Tell me what?”
Seok-joong rolled his eyes and set his bowl down, “Mom set me up for a date.”
He glanced at his mother and let out a small laugh, “You did what?”
His mom gave him a frown and nodded her head, “He’s almost forty and he’s single. I’m just trying to help him.”
Seok-joong scoffed at this and shook his head, “You set me up with a twenty-six-year-old. How is that going to help me?”
“I want you to have someone. I don’t want you to be lonely. Lonely people die faster.”
Seokjin glanced at his dad and raised his eyebrow, “Dad, did you tell her this?”
His dad shook his head and let out a laugh, “Her fortune-teller told her that one, son. I don’t want to intervene because she’s scared when she’s determined.”
Seokjin nodded his head at this, “Mom, who is the lucky girl?”
“Oh, Mrs. L/N’s daughter. You don’t know her but I’ve been told she’s wonderful.”
Seokjin started coughing on his rice and took a drink of his water with tears in his eyes. He looked at his mother with wide eyes, “L/N!”
“Seokjin, are you okay?”
“Nevermind that, L/N?”
His mother nodded her head and gave him a confused look, “Is that okay?”
Seokjin let out a small cough and nodded his head, “Yeah....” I’m sure it’s a different L/N. There’s no way it's Y/N.
The next morning, Seokjin went to work like normal. He was walking down the hallway with thoughts running around his mind. What if it’s Y/N? Will Y/N fall for Seok-Joong? It makes sense if she does because he’s a doctor. Who wouldn’t be in love with a doctor? It-
“Jin, are you okay?”
He turned around and saw Suan giving him a concerned look, “W-Why do you ask?”
“You're gripping your hair tightly and you are muttering.”
He let go of his hair and let out a small cough, “I’m okay. J-just thinking.”
Suan gave him a small smirk, “Was it about Y/N?”
Seokjin glared at her and rolled his eyes, “Stop talking nonsense.”
Suan let out a small laugh and grabbed his arm, “Every time you think about her, you mutter under your breath. You're so down bad for her, it’s funny.”
Seokjin felt his face get warm and looked at the window with a frown, “I’m not down bad...” He saw Hoseok and Y/N walking off campus and he frowned at this. Why was she always surrounded with other guys? Why was she so likable?
“Jin, you're going to cause the glass to break if you continue to stare at it.”
“S-Shut up.”
︵‿︵‿୨♡୧‿︵‿︵
Tonight was another date and Y/N hated it. Her mother told her some details about the date and if she was a normal girl, this would be a dream date. A date with a doctor is like winning the lottery but of course, Y/N didn’t care about the lottery. She was dressed in a light pink dress, nothing special, and drove to the restaurant. After this date, she was going to take Seungcheol and Mingyu’s advice. After this date, she was going to tell her mother, no more dates. She can’t handle them anymore.
She walked into the restaurant and walked towards the hostess, “Table for Y/N?”
She looked up and went through the list of names. She nodded her head, “Table ten.”
The hostess went back to her phone to watch something and Y/N sighed. She walked past the teenager and went towards a waiter, “Do you know where table ten is?”
The waiter blinked his eyes and nodded his head, “It’s by the window.”
Y/N nodded her head and squinted at the tag, “Thank you Jungkook.” She walked away from him and saw the table. There was someone who looked just like Seokjin. She stopped walking and her mouth dropped. Who the hell is this guy? She rubbed her eyes roughly and stared at her date who was the mere image of her crush. She pinched her arm and realized this was real. She slowly walked towards the table with a confused look, “Seok-joong?”
Seok-joong looked up from the menu and gave her a small smile, “That’s me. Don’t yell it out.”
She tilted her head at him and nodded her head, “I’m Y/N...” She slowly sat in the chair and she couldn’t stop staring at him with a confused look. Seok-joong looked around him and gave her a confused look, “Are you okay? Is there something on my face?”
“You just looked like someone I know...”
“Is that a good thing?”
In a sense, yes. “It’s not a bad thing...”
Seok-joong nodded his head and took a sip of his water, “Well should we order dinner?”
“Y-Yeah, we should.”
Y/N took her phone out (hiding it under the table) and texted Seungcheol, I need you to look someone up for me
Are you going to kill someone?
What no, I think I’m on a date with someone who’s related to Seokjin
Are you finally going crazy?
Look up Kim Seok-joong for me
Oh shit...that’s his brother
She looked up from her phone and looked at Seok-joong with a defeated look. Why couldn’t her mom set her up with Seokjin? She would’ve given her mother her paycheck every month for a year for the setup but no. Y/N took a bit of her pasta and let out a small cough, “So....family?”
Seok-joong looked up from his steak and nodded his head, “Yeah, something that most people have.”
“You got a brother?”
Seok-joong let out a laugh and nodded his head, “Are you trying to move on from me that fast?”
Y/N’s eyes widened at this and shook her head, “No, No I didn’t mean it like that! Oh, god I just processed what I just said.”
“Relax. I have a brother, his name is Seokjin.”
Y/N stood up from the table and put her arms up in a victory pose, “YES! I WON!”
Seok-joong let out a laugh and raised his eyebrow, “I’m assuming you know him.”
She felt her face get warm and sat back down. She let out a sheepish laugh and nodded her head, “I-I do know him. Well, I don’t know him like that but I know his name and I work with him.”
“You talk a lot when you're nervous. Did you know that?”
“Noted...Did you want this date?”
Seok-Joong shook his head and took a bite of his steak, “Nope and I’m amused you didn’t want it either.”
“No offense but no.” Y/N clapped her hands at this and smiled, “I think the universe likes me. I-I need your help.”
“My help? Do you have a rash on your body or something?”
Y/N glanced down at her arms and then back at Seok-joong, “What? No. I need help with Seokjin.”
Seok-joong nodded his head at this, “What about him?”
Y/N started to play with her pasta and looked up at Seok-joong, “You see...how do I say this?”
“You have a crush on my brother.”
Y/N closed her mouth and nodded her head slowly, “I guess that’s how you say it....I can’t talk to him...I have no idea how to approach him.”
“Seokjin is the easiest person to talk to. He goes up to people all the time to strike up a conversation. He does that all the time at the ER.”
“Wow, he talks to patients on his days off. He’s amazing.”
Seok-joong snapped his fingers at Y/N, “Don’t daydream on me. Why can’t you approach him? Also, this is the weirdest date I have ever had.”
“This is the most helpful date I have ever had. I get very clumsy when I see him...I broke his door the other day.”
“Ohh, that was you. He told us at dinner.”
“Oh god, he’s telling you guys my most embarrassing moments.”
“Well, it sounds like you do it a lot because he talks about you all the time.”
Y/N felt her heart beat faster and she leaned towards him, “He talks about me? Oh my god, he talks about me.”
He let out a small laugh, “Maybe that’s why he was upset last night about this date.”
“Upset?”
Seok-joong took a sip of his water and nodded his head, “He was shocked when he heard L/N. That was the first time I saw that expression on his face.”
Y/N felt warmth go through her body and she smiled at this, “Really? What should I do? I can’t talk to him...I always mess up and look like an idiot in front of him.”
“Don’t change the way you are. Just be more confident with him.”
Y/N scoffed at this and leaned back in her chair with her arms crossed, “Why do men think it's that easy?”
Seok-joong shrugged his shoulders, “It’s just Seokjin.”
Seokjin glared at his phone and took a sip of his beer. Jimin glanced at Suna and then back at Seokjin, “So...why are you glaring at your phone?”
Seokjin crossed his arms over his chest and shrugged his shoulders, “No reason...”
Suna let out a small laugh and placed her beer on the coffee table, “It’s because his brother is on a date with Y/N.”
Seokjin groaned at this and looked up at the ceiling, “I don’t need this.”
Jimin let out a laugh and looked at Seokjin, “Is that the girl that keeps running away from you?”
“Shut it.”
Suan rolled her eyes and nodded her head, “Yes, it is. She's super nice and she’s popular with the men which makes Jin jealous.”
 “I don’t get jealous.”
“Yes, you do.”
Just then the door opened and Seokjin jumped up from his seat. He walked towards the door and was met with Jungkook giving him a confused look, “Hello?”
“Well, did you see him?”
“Jin, did you have Jungkook spy on Seok-joong?”
“Jimin not now.”
Jungkook put his coat on the coat hanger and nodded his head, “Yeah and it was with the girl from the picture you showed me.”
“You have a picture of Y/N on your phone?”
Seokjin glared at Suan and then looked back at Jungkook, “D-Did they look like they were having a good time?”
“You do realize I had a job to do, right?”
“Okay and? Did they look like they were having a good time? Please tell me.”
Jungkook shrugged his shoulders, “I mean they were laughing...”
Seokjin frowned at this and he leaned against the wall with a frown, “She fell for the doctor. Of course, she fell for him.”
Jungkook let out a small laugh and shook his head, “You don’t know that hyung.”
“You would fall for a doctor too.”
“I’m not gay...”
Seokjin let out a groan and rubbed his forehead, “You know what I mean.”
“I don’t actually...”
Seokjin walked back into the living and sighed to himself. He picked up his beer and glared at Suan, “Don’t say anything.”
“You have to try harder to get her to notice you then.”
Jimin nodded his head and looked at Seokjin, “Can you just admit that you like her first.”
“Leave me alone.”
Seokjin was waiting in his car for Y/N. After last night, he was going to try harder to talk to her and spend time with her. He wasn’t going to let his brother win. He took a sip of his water and his eyes widened when he saw Y/N getting out of her car. She was dressed in her normal attire but today she had this glow to her and he didn’t like that. That just gave him more proof that she had a good date with his brother.
He took a deep breath and got out of his car as fast as he could. He walked towards Y/N and pushed up his glasses, “Good morning, Y/N.”
Y/N froze in her spot and slowly turned towards the voice. Her eyes were wide and when she was met with the dark brown eyes, she dropped her lunch bag. Seokjin glanced down at the bag and picked it up for her, “Go-Good morning, Seokjin.”
He handed her the bag and gave her a smile, “You can call me Jin.”
“J-Jin.”
“I was wondering if you would come with me to get coffee.”
She looked around her and then pointed to herself, “Yo-You want me to go with you to get coffee?”
Seokjin let out a small laugh and nodded his head, “Yeah, we have thirty minutes until school starts.”
“I like coffee.”
“That’s good. I like coffee too.”
After dropping her stuff at her classroom, the two walked to the local cafe across the street. Seokjin was talking the whole time while Y/N stayed silent. She couldn’t think of anything to say to him. She kept nodding her head but she stayed silent. Her dream was coming true and she couldn’t even express her happiness because of nerves. Seok-joong told her to stare at his lips or focus on his eyebrows but she couldn’t even look at him. Every time she looked at him, she wanted to kiss him.
“Y/N, do you want the croissant?”
She shook her head and looked at the croissant in the glass, “Y-Yeah...I-I’ll pay you back.”
Seokjin shook his head at this, “You can pay for the next time.”
Y/N’s eyes widened and whipped her head to look at him, “Nex-Next time!?
Seokjin grabbed the coffee and the croissant with a smile, “Yeah, maybe this time we could get lunch instead and more time to hang out.”
Y/N almost dropped her coffee but Seokjin put his hand on the bottom of the cup, “We should go back before we are late for school.”
“Ye-yeah.”
Y/N entered her classroom and stared at her door with a confused face. She glanced at the coffee and croissant with a red face, “Did-Did that just happen?”
“Ms. L/N, did you finally get asked out!?”
She turned and pointed her finger at her student, “Ara! Sit down and don’t yell!”
“But Ms. L/N, you're yelling right now.”
“Let’s start the lesson.”
“She’s ignoring us.”
At the end of the day, She was packing up after a long day of teasing from her students and Hoseok. It was annoying but she grew up with an older sister, she could take anything. The door opened and she looked up from grading. She sat up and smiled widely, “Jaebeom!”
He gave her his signature smile and leaned against the door, “Yo. It’s been a while.”
She ran towards him and wrapped her arms around his neck, “How’s Jinyoung?”
Jaebeom let her go and frowned, “You didn’t even ask about me?”
She let him go and let out a small laugh, “Fine, how’s my ex-boyfriend and his boyfriend?”
Jaebeom shrugged his shoulders, “We’ve been good. I wanted to visit you and the guys. It’s been a while. Mingyu told me that your sports day was coming up. I wanted to cheer you on.”
“You work in Tokyo, don’t feel guilty. We understand and yes, sports day is coming up. I don’t need cheering, I just need an excuse to leave it.”
Jaebeom laughed at this and glanced at the table, “Need help grading?”
“Please.”
Seokjin was walking down the hallway and he went to say goodbye to Y/N. He glanced through the glass and he felt his heart stop, Y/N was close to a man he had never seen before. This closeness was different from her with Hoseok and Mingyu, this closeness was warm and it was comfortable. It was clear they knew each other and the way she looked at him made him feel sick. He walked away from the door with his head hanging low.

Y/N hated going out with her sister. Umiko made it known that she was better than her. With the way she dressed whenever they went out and the way she spoke changed. It always made her feel small but she never said anything because what was the point? This is how her sister was and there was no point in trying to change her.
Her mother set up a dinner party with her friends, the Kims. She knew this meant she was going to see Seokjin and she was ready for the first time. Jaebeom gave her encouragement and told her to show off the side she never showed to people. Her sexy side. She had one but she didn’t know how to use it but tonight that was going to change. She was going to get Seokjin's attention...well she would try. With her sister there, she didn’t know how this night would turn out. It was either her crying because Seokjin noticed Umiko or her crying because Seokjin noticed her.
She entered the restaurant and her eyes landed on Seokjin who was in the corner. She fixed her skirt and took a deep breath. She ignored her sister's stare and walked towards Seokjin. She pushed her hair behind her ear and gave him a small smile, “H-Hi, Jin.”
Seokjin glanced and his eyes widened. Y/N was in a dark blue off-the-shoulder dress that made her curves stand out. He knew she was cute but to see her like this, this was different. He let out a small cough and placed his glass on the table, “Hey, you look great, Y/N.”
Y/N glanced down at her dress and smiled to herself, “I-I bought this dress.”
Seokjin let out a small laugh, “I would hope so or are you a criminal?”
Y/N shook her head and let out a small cough, “I-I would be a horrible criminal. Especially if you were the cop.”
Seokjin raised his eyebrow at this and leaned down to be closer to her face, “Oh? Why is that?”
“Yo-You make me nervous.”
“Don’t be nervous around me. I want to hear you talk more.”
She felt her face get hotter and she nodded her head, “Ye-Yeah...I’ll talk more.”
He grabbed her hand and headed to the balcony without anyone noticing. He stood in front of her and smiled, “Can I ask you something personal?”
She tilted her head and slowly nodded her head, “I-I suppose.”
“Are you single?”
She blinked her eyes and let out a small cough, “I am.”
His eyes widened and he couldn’t stop the excitement that was flowing through his body, “Really?”
She nodded her head, “I’m sure you heard about my date with your brother but...it was obvious that it wouldn’t work out.”
“That actually made me feel better.”
Y/N tilted her head at this, “Make you feel better? Why?”
“Y/N, I-”
“Y/N, who is this?”
Y/N looked past Seokjin and frowned, Umiko was standing there in her elegant black dress that showed off her beauty. Y/N hated how Umiko was looking at Seokjin, it made her feel uneasy. Y/N swallowed some spit and looked down at her shoes, “This is Kim Seokjin. He’s a math teacher at the school.”
Umiko nodded her head and glanced at Seokjin up and down, “A teacher? I would’ve suspected a K-idol with the way you look.”
Seokjin let out an awkward cough and nodded his head, “Thanks...umm and you are?”
“I’m Park Umiko. I’m visiting family for a short term. After this party, I have to get on the next flight to New York for my job.”
Seokjin nodded his head and glanced at Y/N, “Can we talk later?”
Y/N looked up and nodded her head with a small smile, “Yeah...”
She walked away from the scene and she didn’t even bother to look at them one last time. It would only break her heart. Umiko always wins and this annoys her. She will never win, she had to accept this.
Umiko watched her sister leave and turned towards Seokjin with a small smirk, “So, Seokjin-”
“It’s rude to interrupt a private conversation.”
Umiko’s eyes widened at this and let out a nervous laugh, “What do you mean? You were talking to my sister, it wasn’t private.”
“But it was private. I didn’t want to call you out in front of her because it felt inappropriate. Now what do you want?”
Umiko scoffed at this and crossed her arms over her chest, “I just wanted to know you...is that so bad?”
“Yes, especially when I was talking to someone. Now, I’ll see you at the dinner table.”
Seokjin ran out of the balcony leaving Umiko dumbfounded. His eyes landed on Y/N who was talking to his mother and he smiled at their smiles. He slowly walked towards them and smiled at his mother, “Hello, mom.”
“Oh, Seokjin. Y/N was just telling me about her lesson the other day. She’s so intelligent.”
Seokjin smiled at this and glanced at Y/N who shook her head, “I’m just average-”
“Y/N is one of the most intelligent teachers I have ever met and I’m proud to work with her.”
Y/N glanced at Seokjin with wide eyes, “Really?”
Seokjin nodded his head, “The students talk about you all day and I’ve seen your lesson plans. You're brilliant.”
She smiled down at her shoes, “Thank you, Jin.” She looked back up and glanced at the balcony to see Umiko smoking with annoyance. She had never seen Umiko so annoyed before but it made her feel better. Even though that was terrible to say, she needed a win.
Seokjin glanced down at her hand and wrapped his pinky around hers with a smile on his face. She glanced down and then back at him, he looked down at her and winked. She smiled at this and went closer to him. Seokjin’s mother watched this with a smile on her face. At least one of her sons will get with someone.
︵‿︵‿୨♡୧‿︵‿︵
Today was field day and Y/N hated this day. Last year, they had to play soccer against the students and she fell on her back after trying to kick a goal. The year before that, she went to hit the ball in baseball and she let the bat go. She hated sports day but this year was different. She wanted to impress Seokjin and this was her moment. All week Seungcheol, Jaebeom, and Mingyu were training her for this moment. She was ready to play but she wasn’t ready for the game to be volleyball. All the sports she trained for and volleyball wasn’t on the list.
She ran onto the court with the rest of the teachers and her eyes landed on Seokjin. He was the referee and he looked great in strips. Her face got warm and she didn’t even notice the game started, “Y/N! We need you!”
She shook her head and nodded her head towards Hoseok, “O-Okay!”
Jaebeom leaned towards Seungcheol, “Is that the guy who she has a crush on?”
“Yeah...I’m hoping this game goes well.”
Y/N went to hit the ball but the ball fell right in front of her. Jaebeom sighed and shook his head, “I just want her to hit the ball once.”
Mingyu nodded his head with his arms crossed, “She’ll hit the ball but she won’t hit over the net.”
“Oi, have faith in her.”
Y/N walked towards the water and frowned to herself, she hadn’t hit the ball once. She took a sip of her water and she felt a hand on her shoulder. She looked up to see Seokjin giving her a soft smile, “Are you okay?”
She felt her face get hot and she looked back down at her water, “I-I’m okay.”
“Just remember, it’s just a game. Don’t be too hard on yourself.”
“I-I’ll try.”
He patted her shoulder, “I’ll be cheering you on.”
She watched him walk away and her mouth fell open, “He-He’s cheering me on!?”
Y/N went to the court and felt fire go through her body. She was going to get a point and she was going to do it for Seokjin, “Game...Start!”
She ran across the court and went to hit the ball but somehow, the ball hit her square in the face. Seokjin's eyes widened and ran towards her, “TIME OUT!” He walked towards her and pushed the ball away, “Y/N, are you okay!?”
She let out a small moan and opened her eyes, “Did I hit the ball?”
Suan walked towards her and shook her head, “Technically you hit it but not the way you're supposed to hit it.”
“Suan, you're going to be the referee. I’m taking Y/N to the nurse.”
Before Suan could answer, Seokjin picked up Y/N and ran towards the nurse. Mingyu glanced at Seungcheol, “I guess that worked in her favor.”
“Shut it.”
Seokjin placed Y/N on the bed and got her ice pouch. He placed the ice on her head and she couldn’t stop staring at him, “Th-Thank you, J-Jin.”
“Are you okay?”
“I-I just have a headache.”
Seokjin nodded his head and grabbed Tylenol for her. He ran his fingers through her hair and let out a small sigh, “Your face is red. Are you sure you're okay?”
She swallowed some spit and nodded her head, “I-I’m okay. Don’t worry.”
“I can’t do that. I worry about you constantly.”
She blinked her eyes at this, “Wh-What do you mean?”
Seokjin felt his body get warm and let out a small cough, “I-I..I care for you.”
“Yo-You care for me!?”
Seokjin glanced down at her lips and sighed, “Fuck it.”
He leaned down and placed his lips on hers. Her eyes widened at the sudden action but she slowly closed them. She wrapped her arms around his neck and brought him in closer and he happily accepted it. When they pulled away, Y/N looked at him with a shocked face, “You kissed me....does that mean-”
“Yes...”
“You don’t even know what I was going to say.”
Seokjin let out a laugh and shook his head. He placed his forehead against hers and smiled, “I-I like you.” Y/N nodded her head and she fainted causing Seokjin's eyes to widen, “NURSE!”
︵‿︵‿୨♡୧‿︵‿︵
˚ʚ♡ɞ˚  Extend Ending ˚ʚ♡ɞ˚
It was Seokjin’s birthday and he got everything he wanted. He got the cake he wanted from his mom and Y/N placed the said cake on the table without falling. The greatest gift he got this year was Y/N, herself. What more could he ask for? Which is how he landed in this situation...
The warmth of his hand made Y/N feel so hot and helpless. He placed a gentle kiss on the tip of her ear causing her to let out a surprise gasp, “J-Jin.”
Seokjin let a small smirk appear and continued to kiss her neck. His fingers slipped down his skirt and he sneaked his fingers to push Y/N’s underwear to the side. He thrust a finger into her aching hole and smirked at her shaking, “You were the one that wanted this. Don’t act too shocked.”
“I-I-”
“Shush. You don’t want anyone coming up looking for us, right.”
She felt her face get hot and shook her head, “No...”
“Then stay quiet.”
She felt her back arched against his body as her mouth fell open. His fingers were a work of art. They were long enough to reach that spot that made her see the stars. She clenched around him and covered her mouth, “W-Wait...not there. Ji-Jin.”
She was embarrassed because it was her fault that this happened. She couldn’t help herself because she saw Seokjin in a casual black shirt. He looked so good and she couldn’t stop herself. She started to finger herself in his bedroom, thinking it would be quick and she would go to dinner without anyone noticing but Seokjin noticed. He always noticed.
He moved his fingers faster into her and she let out a small whine. She was dripping down to his fingers right to his wrist. She couldn’t believe the mess she was making on his bed sheet, “Ji-Jin, I’m so-” She felt her face get hotter when she watched Seokjin lick away her juices, “J-Jin, don’t do that.”
“It’s not my fault you taste so good.”
His lips landed on Y/N’s and in a steady swoop, Seokjin hoisted her by her thighs and wrapped her legs around his waist as the kiss deepened. She wrapped her arms around his neck and she couldn’t stop herself from moaning against his plump lips. His hands gripped her ass and thighs as she felt his cock at her entrance.
She pushed him away her lips shined in the moonlight, “Jin, your mother-”
“I know.”
“We have to-to hurry.”
Seokjin let out a deep chuckle and kissed her neck, “You just had my fingers and now you want my cock...so selfish.”
“St-Stop.”
He unbuckled his pants and hoisted Y/N up a little. He pulled down the pants and boxes. She glanced down to see his swollen head and she felt her face get hotter. He buried his cock into her pussy and she let out a loud gasp. Even though this wasn’t the first time they had sex, she never got used to his size. He squeezed the flesh of her ass and as he tried to find his rhythm, “God, always so tight.”
He began to thrust into her and his pace was causing the bed to shake a little. Her face turned hot at the sound and she hid her face into his chest. He ran his fingers through his hair and continued to thrust, he kissed the top of her head and let out a small laugh, always so cute. He felt her clench and he brought his fingers to press harshly against her clit. She let out a small sob and Seokjin kissed the side of her head, “It’s okay. Let it go.”
She closed her eyes and did just that. She let out a small gasp and wrapped her arms around his neck, “It-It’s too much.”
“I know, baby. I’m almost there.”
Her body goes limp and before he could spill into her, he pulled his cock out and the sticky white fluid went inside her underwear. She let out a small laugh and shook her head, “Yo-You need to stop doing that.”
He leaned down and kissed her forehead, “Let me live my fantasy.”
“Jin! Y/N! Is everything okay!?”
Y/N pushed Jin off and fixed herself up, “We-Were okay! I wasn’t feeling good! We’ll be down soon.”
Jin got up from the floor and glared at her, “Did you just push me off?”
“Yes...hurry up before your mom thinks we had sex.”
“She would be happy because that means she would get a grandchild.”
“JIN!”
Jin let out a small laugh and leaned down to kiss her forehead, “Thank you for the birthday gift.”
“Sh-Shut up.”

Would you? a part 2 of "She Wishes".
Tumblr media
Recommend reading "She Wishes" before going down.
Warnings: Angst, a lot of angst. Regret... Emotional Out Of Character Wednesday
Summary: Would you come back if you knew how much she has changed? Pairing: Wednesday x Female Reader.
I don’t need someone dragging me down, constantly whining about feeling neglected. If you can’t handle that, then maybe you should find someone else willing to put up with your desperate need for attention.
Wednesday jolted awake, the voice still ringing in her ears, her own voice.
In her whole life, she had never been the one to be afraid of nightmares, yet she ended up like this, being unable to sleep because of the nightmare she created herself. It had been the same, night after night.
When was the last time she’d slept without revisiting that moment, that night when she said those… words? She couldn’t remember.
She dragged herself to a seated position, trying to steady her breathing, only to catch a flicker of movement on the balcony.
A figure stood there, perfectly still, as if waiting... just as it always had.
It was you.
She knew her mind was simply tormenting her, feeding on her guilt and grief, creating illusions to make her suffer even more. But in a way, she had come to accept it. This was the only way she could see you now, the only way she could be near you. She couldn’t resist the pull, the familiar ache in her chest that begged her to walk toward you.
She glanced over at Enid, who was sleeping soundly on her side of the room. Fortunately, Enid could sleep through the wildest storms. Wednesday supposed it was a blessing; her friend wouldn’t hear her break through the silence to talk with… you.
And there you stood, haloed by the soft glow of the moon, looking more beautiful than she ever remembered. She took in the way your hair caught the light, the way it made you look ethereal, almost otherworldly.
A year ago, she would’ve never noticed something like this, but now? Now, she was all too aware. Painfully so.
She approached with quiet, as if you were something fragile she might shatter with her presence alone.
“You’re here again.” Her voice was low, tentative.
You didn’t respond, just kept staring up at the stars.
Wednesday swallowed, hating the awkwardness of her own silence, hating that she struggled to express herself even now, even when she knew you weren't real.
“I thought you might like to know how uneventful my day was,” she said softly. “Nothing of interest happened. I went to class, ignored everyone, and endured the same dull routine.” her gaze lingered on you, trying to memorize every detail.
As she stood beside you, leaning on the railing, she looked at the moon, "Thing played a particularly irritating prank on Enid, it was suspicious. Thing would never hurt Enid's feelings… unless Enid told him to do so. She probably did to… lighten my mood, which to her disappointment, didn't amuse me at all." She glanced at you, half-expecting a response, though she knew you’d never answer.
You were only an illusion, yet you watched her so attentively, as though you were really listening.
A faint smile ghosted across her lips, sad and bittersweet. It reminded her of the way you used to listen to her back then, a year ago, when the two of you were… something. She’d always avoided putting a name to it then, but now, she wished she had.
“I… know I never asked much about your day. I assumed you’d tell me what mattered eventually, but… you used to talk about everything, even things I thought were trivial.” Her gaze fell, the weight of her own words settling heavily in her chest.
"And the irony is," she whispered bitterly, "even if you’re just in my head, you're listening more to me right now than I ever did to you."
Wednesday waited, as if expecting you to smile at her words, to nod with that knowing look you used to give her when she vented. You always used to tell her about your own day, too, in that same casual, almost rhythmic way.
She closed her eyes, trying to remember the things you used to talk about—but it was like trying to catch mist with her bare hands.
The details were lost to her because she had never truly listened. She’d always kept her mind focused elsewhere, assuming you’d always be there, assuming your words would repeat endlessly, and she could listen when she felt like it. But that moment, like you, was gone.
"I don’t even know if I remember what your favorite book was," she muttered, almost to herself "or your favorite subject...or our favorite moment." She swallowed, the words sharp as they caught in her throat. "I don’t know why you gave me so much of yourself when I barely gave you a second thought."
She hadn’t even realized she was reaching into her pocket until her fingers closed around the metallic edge of her smartphone. A tool she despised. She pulled it out, letting it rest in her hand, staring down at the dark screen. She hated devices like this—clunky, bright, too noisy, too eager to pull you into a world she didn’t care for.
To her, the smartphone was an obnoxious symbol of the modern world, a world she found lacking in anything genuine or meaningful. Yet here she was, holding it, clinging to it like a lifeline.
This ugly piece of plastic and glass, which she’d once ignored with utter disdain, had now taken on a significance.
It was the only way she could reach you...
She found your number, just as she had every night for the past year. She already knew how this would end, the way it had every night since you’d been gone.
It always ended the same way, going straight to voicemail. Yet she pressed it anyway, waiting for that familiar sound. The ringing stopped, and the voicemail picked up.
She took a shaky breath, and then, she began to speak.
“Hello, it’s… me. Again.” Her lips twitched in a faint, bitter smile. “I suppose that part was obvious.”
She paused, glancing over her shoulder to make sure Enid was still asleep, then turned back to you.
“I know you’re not going to answer. I know that. But somehow… I can’t seem to stop myself. Pathetic, isn’t it?” She let out a low, humorless chuckle. “I never thought I’d be the kind of person to talk to the void, to cling to something so… intangible. But here I am. Just another fool.” She gripped the phone a little tighter, closing her eyes as she struggled to find the words.
“Today, I thought about that time you asked me to spend the evening with you. You brought snacks and books, and you told me it could be fun, remember? I scoffed, said it was pointless, a waste of time.” She swallowed. “But you… you just smiled at me. You always… God, you always just smiled, didn’t you? I never understood how someone can hide so much pain behind a smile... Now I do." She smiled.
The silence on the line felt crushing, a void that seemed to swallow her whole, yet she kept going. She had to.
“If you were here right now… I’d ask you to tell me about your day,” she whispered. “I wouldn’t even care if it was boring. I wouldn’t mind if it dragged on or if you rambled. I’d listen. For once, I’d actually listen.”
She took a deep breath, her gaze dropping to the floor as she tried to steady herself. “I miss you,” she admitted finally, her voice breaking. “I miss you so much it feels like I’m losing my mind. I may already have...“ She looked at your form in front of her, looking at her with such pity in your eyes.
"I don’t deserve to miss you this much. I know that. I know that I failed you in every possible way, that I took you for granted. And now…” She trailed off, her voice shaking with the weight of her confession.
“I keep thinking, what if… what if I’d done things differently? What if I’d actually listened, actually cared about the things that mattered to you?” She swallowed hard, the words barely a whisper. “Would you still be here?” she sighed.
“I just… I need you to know that I would give anything, anything, to have you back. To have one more chance to show you that I’m not the person I was back then. I can change. I have changed. I just… I just want you to come back. I just want to know one thing, Would you come back if you knew how much I've changed?"
The beep sounded, signaling the end of the voicemail. She lowered the phone, her hand trembling as she placed it back in her pocket. Her gaze returned to your figure, still there, still watching.
“Would you forgive me?” she asked, she had to know, just so she could at least sleep that night.
At that moment, your lips curved into that familiar smile, the one that always held so much pain and you whispered back.
“Would you?”

🪷WEDDING🪷
Tumblr media
“Mija, you can go on ahead to the club” I raise my head to watch my parents dressed up for something other than the country club. “We will meet you for dinner” My mother nods to my fathers words, sending a smile over to me.
“Remember to talk with Francine about the party” They didn’t wait for an answer, already halfway out the door. Ever since I could remember we barely spent time as a family. It was rare to get them at dinner so I knew that they weren’t going to be back for dinner. They remembered birthdays and holidays but other than that, nothing. They were there for some school events but I stopped letting them know about the few last ones my senior year because I felt like I was begging for attention.
“¡Bye Hon!” My dad screamed as the car backed up in the driveway. I closed the door and turned to get my purse.
“You need me to tell Jerry to get the other car ready?” I look over, shaking my head.
“No, thank you Ruby. I will drive myself today” She gives a gentle nod before walking away. As I get into the car I think of not even going but then I turn it one and I think I could skip the country club for today and maybe go to the beach? Then Francine comes to mind and I lose all hope of having a nice day by the waves. Once Francine sees me at the club she will make sure I stay there and I have to see her because she is part of a wedding I am helping plan. Francine is an old friend of my parents, like a second mother and since she has no kids she bestowed that onto me. I make my way to the club and before getting out of the car I take a deep breath and walk in.
“Miss, so glad to see you, how are your parents?” I jumped, hearing the enthusiastic voice from the club's host.
“They are doing great”
“That's amazing to hear, well enjoy your evening” He smiles quickly before running off to his next victims that were just walking in.
“Alone again?” I closed my eyes trying to calm my beating heart down again. People need to stop doing that.
“I feel like I should be reciting Shakespeare right now?” My head moved up seeing Rafe lean over the balcony. Light salmon pink shirt with a fresh buzz cut and the never missing gold ring. “O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo?” I lift my hand mocking chivalry. Rafe chuckles, shaking his head.
“So that makes me Juliet?” I shrug my shoulders
“Fuck that, there is no shame in a woman senerating a man” He stand up straight and with a smile, he looks down.
“Well continue my lady,”
“Deny thy father and refuse thy name;” Why was I giving it my all? I laugh inside at my stupidity right now. “Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love, and I’ll no longer be a Capulet.”
“You always had a way with words” He smiled leaning back to his original pose.
“Yes,” Our heads turn to see Francine walking over to me with an unamused look. “Words she decides to keep hidden,” I smile respectfully, giving her a hug. “Hello Rafe,” I held an amused grin on my face. She was literally throwing daggers at him. We knew she didn’t like him, can you blame her? Rafe has a reputation.
“Francine-” She didn’t wait for him to finish before grabbing my arm and pulling me away from the club’s entrance and onto the garden.
“I thought you two were no longer friends”
“We are not,” I said rapidly, I lied quickly on my feet.
“I hope not, he's not a good boy for you my love,” Another smile, what I wanted to say was, “I know what i'm doing. I am too smart to fall for Rafe Cameron but if I did, I will take the blame” I only nod at her said advice. “Now, how about we talk about the wedding?” For a good hour I was following her along the country club and making notes on what exactly she wanted for the wedding. More flowers, clear chairs, mirrored floor, a release of butterflies, and no color other than sky blue and white of course.
“What were you thinking about the ceremony?” She lets out a quick squeal before rushing towards the cliff which was only a small hill with some height overlooking the beach. I walked quickly to see what she was pointing at with such a huge smile.
“We agreed on the beach,” I hear a contempt sigh leave her lips. Her shoulders fall and her eyes soften at the vision of the bride getting married there. “Can’t you see yourself there too?” Too focused on her happiness and excitement, her question caught me off guard. I look down again but quickly shake my head. “You have planned such beautiful weddings, where do you see yours?”
“I can’t set my mind on one,” I chuckled nervously. It wasn’t the whole truth but it wasn’t a lie. Of course I know what I have wanted for my future wedding since I was 6, but as a wedding planner there was one thing I hated the most about planning and it was the grooms. All they did was walk behind the bride, nodding and smiling. Agreeing on everything. I want to think it's to make them happy because a wedding was made out to be more for the bride but hearing the groom speak they let out subtle comments about no caring. I want my future husband to care. I want him to be present in what is the beginning of our future. I want him to be the bridezilla along with me.
“Well don’t settle for only this view” She pointed out. “You can have a destination wedding like somewhere in Italy.” Her eyes grow bigger, “Or the south of France!” She jumps giggling at her ideas. “I am going to go look at venues now, you know how easily they can book up!” There was really no use in saying it was too early to think about my wedding because nothing can change that woman's mind when she gets this excited about something.
“I need a drink-” I closed up my book and was ready to leave when I heard a voice from the shore.
“I got an extra beer” My gaze meets Rafe holding a beer up. “Is it too trashy for you my lady?” My eyes stay glued to him and a small smile appears on my face. “I don’t know any Shakespeare if that's what you want to hear” His arm slowly falls to his side. I look over to the country club and catch a glimpse through the window only to catch Francine rushing out of her office.
“Not trashy Cameron” I smile as I take a seat on the hill. “But I don’t drink beer,” I carefully push myself off and balance myself to walk down the steep hill until I am standing in front of Rafe.
“Worth a shot” He shrugs, putting the beer in his pocket. “I know you don’t drink at all.” I shake my head noticing he only had one beer in sight.
“Honey?!” Our heads turn toward the top of the hill to find no one there but the scream of my name becoming louder and louder. Francine can wait another day
“How about you offer me an escape?” With a glimmer in his eyes he grabs my hand and rush's us down the shore. I take a glimpse unsure of the object but as we move closer I start to laugh. “You bring this everywhere just in case?” My breath is shaky, I am not used to running. I look back seeing the figure of Francine screaming out to me but I choose to turn back to Rafe.
“Who knows when a lady needs my saving,” He puts out his hand for me to take and I oblige. He helps me up to a small row boat and I take a seat on the furthest end.
“Need help?” Rafe shakes his head pushing us offshore and he rushes to get in. “Daddy wouldn’t let you use his yacht?” I smile. I look over to the horizon, as the sun meets, perfectly creating an orange hue.
“No,” He groans, making me chuckle at his annoyance. “Don’t want to risk leaving it unsupervised since those pogue pulled their little stunt on Toppers”
“You always ruin it with your talk about pogues,” I roll my eyes looking back at him again. His arms stop rowing at his eyebrows furrowed.
“It 's true!. Little dirty pogues who don’t come close to us should be taught a lesson soon and for good” I never associated myself with what he would call somebody a pogue but that's because I don’t see them as such. My life has consisted of following my parents and at school and work I am only surrounded by people who are considered good. I never leave my bubble. But money or no money, people are people. As long as you are a good person, you are rich in my book.
“You know,” I look straight into his eyes. “You always mentioned how little Francine makes you feel, do you realize that's how you try to make them feel?”. His small smile falls into a straight line. “Would you want me to treat you less just because of some stupid status?”
“It's not the same, those pogues!-”
“Are human Rafe,” I let out a sigh knowing this conversation was just like the past. “Human beings who weren’t blessed with opportunities we have. They work day and night. It doesn’t matter what their bank account says if they have a good heart.” I move closer to him. “I know you have a good heart too Rafe.” I move my hand under his chin to pull him closer. “That's why I choose to disobey my parents and Francine once in awhile,”
“We tried this once already” He whispers. A slight smile appears on my face remembering how I like and feel having him this close.
“I still have hope,” His forehead rests on mine and a slow breath leaves him. “It was wrong of me to try to change you,” my thumbs caressing his skin.
“I was acting too proud and stubborn. Everybody saw me as such so it angered me.” He opens his eyes, putting a bit of space between us. “I was willing to try but I didn’t want to disappoint you”
“It wasn’t a choice for you to decide what is right for me. I told you I didn’t care about what anybody said and if it went down in flames, I could handle that.”
“But you don’t deserve-” his words paused as I came closer. My lips on his but only for a longing quick kiss to shut him up.
“You put yourself down when I see you more than worthy. Worth the eyes of people judging. Worth the scolding of my parents and definitely worth the hours of talk Francine is sure to give me” I hear his chuckle along with mine. “Do you think we should try this again?” He nodded eagerly, grabbing my neck and pulling me closer but I was quicker and set my hand between us first. “Rules”
“Fine” He groans, pulling apart. He shakes his head before turning his body towards me. “Date night twice a week,” My head falls back in annoyance. When we first tried having a relationship it was hard to adjust. I wasn’t allowed to have a boyfriend and Rafe knew this and decided to stick around. Of course, not being my boyfriend, I wasn't allowed to go out past 8. Not to any party or bonfire by the beach. I was also busy with school and starting my job as a planner to make time for him. That was bad on my part and we had a lot of fights because of it. I also didn’t like going out much, more of a homebody.
“Fine, but one at home date” He whispers okay. “No Pogue talk unless necessary” We need to talk about the important things first.
“Got it.” He smiled at that?. “When Francine is present you give me my place,” I roll my eyes.
“She is a strong woman but I promise.” I would defend him when need be and when it's reasonable. “but if I have to throw myself against her you have to promise not to back down when not only Francine stands against you” my parents can be a handful too. I watch as he stands up placing his hand on his chest. I laughed mostly because the boat was rocking unsteadily. “Rafe!” I hold on looking up at him again.
“It isn’t what we say or think that defines us, but what we do,” I stood up carefully and was shocked at his words.
“You don’t know Shakespeare but you do Jane Austen?”
“You left a copy of her book behind and I got bored,” I rolled my eyes knowing that wasn’t true. “But back to my confession,” I look back as we try our hardest to stay steady. “I will prove to them that I am willing to be someone they see worthy of you.” I walk closer, placing my arms around his neck.
“The only opinion you need is mine, and I think you are worthy” I whisper as he lowers his head to meet mine.
“I have seen enough!” I turn around shocked but only to see a blurry Francine at shore screaming towards me. “Get back here young lady!” Those were the only clear words heard before Rafe and I went flying into the water. My body resurfaced laughing at the action. I look around finding Rafe swimming towards me.
“Am not ready to face the world yet” I smile hopeful towards him.
“And am not ready to face Francine yet so how about we row away?” I nod turning towards the boat. “You don’t have a curfew?” I groan hearing his laugh from behind me. He pushes me up and I slide into the boat.
“Never got to be a rebel teen, I think I have some headaches to make up for,” I turn to help him climb in.
“Then let's go.” he smiles, taking his place and rowing away. “This is not a good look on my part.” He laughs looking back at Francine. “Will definitely be hearing about this,”
“Such a bad influence,” I grin looking at him. “Guess what?” His eyes sparkled hearing my giddy tone.
“I saved your beer” My grin grows bigger as he laughs. I throw him the can and with ease he catches it.
“That's my girl” his girl.

Part 1!
Johnny was practically convinced that the clock was broken by this point, because it had no reason to be that slow!
He was ready to clock out and head to the pub around 2 hours ago, so now he's just impatiently tapping the wooden table and waiting to get out.
"John!" His coworker calls out, right. The bet, he had to pay up. A deal was a deal and Johnny is a man of his word. "Right, just a second. Let me get my wallet, lad." He answered, quickly reaching into his pocket to grab his wallet.
"No no, you have got to tell me what happened between the two of you." Johnny raises a brow in confusion, muttering about how giving out context clues should be mandatory under his breath.
"The two of wh—"
"You and the pretty gal! Y/N was it? I checked the record books." They cut him off, continuing their rambling. "You looked like you were about to jump out of your skin when you were talking to her, c'mon open up, man! What were you two talking about?"
Johnny groans at the thought of the moment again, remembering the pure awkwardness and the tension that lingered in the air when Simon's name fell out of your lips.
"It's nothing, none of your business." Johnny replies in a dismissive tone, he noticed their mouth opening and instantly shut them up. "Will you leave me alone if I pay ye?"
Rude, maybe–but it's not nice to force information out of people who aren't willing to. What's this? A fucking interrogation? But..hey! He paid up and they left him alone, a win-win situation.
Johnny knew fully well that your business wasn't his business, and he completely respects that. But Simon's business was his business as well. And you were apart of Simon's business for who knows how long, so he should deserves to get filled in on what happened.
And as if the gods have answered his prayers, it was time to get his ass out of here! Johnny wasted no time and dashed out right after clocking out, he needs to pay his best friend a visit.
Tumblr media
Simon was going on about his day, calmly wiping down some bottles while making small talk with the customers when necessary, not really bothering to look up at them. He was so focused on his work that he didn't notice Johnny bolting in and grabbing the closest seat to Simon.
"Simon!" Johnny calls out, slightly startling Simon. An unimpressed scowl was on the blonde man's face..or maybe it was always there. Johnny couldn't really tell with the bright flashing lights here. Whatever, not important.
"Here for a drink, Johnny?" Simon asks, still fixated on getting this one dirty spot of a glass. The Scot nodded, leaning closer to Simon. "Yea, here to talk about somethin' too. Get me some tequila though, just put it in my tab. I think I might have a lot to drink tonight."
The Brit chuckles quietly, shaking his head in disbelief. "Thought you said it tasted like dog piss." Welp whatever the customer says, no? Simon starts preparing the tequila while Johnny spoke.
"It does, but it won't hurt if I try it again. Who knows? I might like it." Alright, he did make sense this time..Simon wasn't going to fight it, he hands over the glass of tequila.
The moment the alcohol got in his mouth, it was practically going straight back out. Johnny had only managed to swallow the liquid out of pure willpower.. "Never mind..it would hurt if I tried it again." He mumbled, wiping his lips and setting the glass aside for now.
"So..have ye been seein' anyone?" Simon, who was mixing up some cocktails now, raised a brow. "No..ain't got the time for it." Simon was wondering where this conversation would end up..
"Really, eh? How about in these past few years?" Simon wasn't sure what Johnny was planning, probably isn't any good. It rarely is.
"Why'd you want to know, mate?" Simon fires a question back, Johnny's shoulders visibly tense up. "Just curious.."
That sounded very typical for someone like Johnny, but there's no doubt that there was something more to it. "Just tell me, mate. It can't be the end of the world."
Johnny sighed, downing the glass of tequila despite the horrific taste. He was going to need a lot more than that.."Fine..I've had this client come in, asking for a cover up tattoo to cover her ex-boyfriend's name. She's a lovely looking lass too.."
Simon listened intently, wondering what this has got to do with him, he let Johnny continue. "I noticed that she had another covered up tattoo close to her more recent one so I asked her what was written on it.."
Again, what has this got to do with Sim—"She said 'Simon Riley' was written on it." Oh. Alright that made sense, not that it made it any better.
Simon tries to recall past memories of his relationships, big and small. It wasn't too hard to remember since memories were stored into his brain like an insanely accurate library. He remembers you, even if he wished he didn't.
"Y/N..?" Simon muttered, eyes wide as if he witnessed a ghost walking through.
...Not exactly the ideal situation Johnny wanted to be in, despite causing it.
