While this fic has some cute and wholesome moments, it is still a very explicit fic that has some very dark elements and a very fucked up relationship dynamic. The midjourney stuff just reminds of when we were trying to find a new platform to host the ao3 donation form, and companies kept trying to tell me about all their "ai" features that would track donor engagement, and figure out the optimal pattern to email individual donors asking for follow up donations, and all the ways they suggest we manipulate people into staying on our websites. It was a great way to filter out who either wasn't listening to us when we described our ethics and donor base, or just didn't believe us.

Now granted ao3 is a unique case based on a) the amount of page views we get in any given time period and b) the fact that most donors absolutely do Not want to be identified as such anywhere, (the default "list of recent donors" module got nuked Immediately) but it surprised me some that the concept of "donors who value their privacy and would be furious at even the whiff of AI" is unique. Some of us really are just existing in different worlds.

wild boars are so cool and badass just look at those things. why does nobody seem to take them seriously theyre up there with bears and wolves in terms of being so strong and hairy and awesome. AND theyre omnivores? wow. the talent. the range. we could learn a lot from them I think

its fun how they're both so different yet so similar, their personalities are nothing alike but the way they process things, their decisions and reactions are nearly identical, both went through a "roleplaying" phase in their youth, adopting the roles those around them wanted them to play

miku has never been mean or evil, but people, the circumstances, forced him to adopt a role he was never made for playing, same case with rin, she was forced to turn into this flawless being who makes no mistakes and is always kind to everyone

in the end, both took the decision to play along to protect themselves, to fit in just like anybody else, to have a role, a set position, something stable to hold onto, but it wounded them deeply, and it takes them a long time to heal and learn to be themselves again

there is, famously, a huge amount of social pressure on gnc cis people to transition. society just wants more trans people, trans women especially. this is a real and serious problem. there are just too many trans women making egg jokes. we have to protect the poor cis people from being compared to us (which is clearly and self evidently a horrible thing to do clearly)
