gosh i am so so sorry to come into your askbox with this but you seem a knower of things and as an extreme latecomer to this fandom, i have been. a little bit genuinely mystified by the ""dadza"" phenomenon in general? like i've seen figures or characters Assigned Dad At Fanbase before but it's usually because of like. dad hobbies or jokes or fashion sense or an actual child they talk about often or a tendency to actually make "ah yes, i'm your dad" comments/jokes, none of which the real streamer seems to have or do, or a some manner of "gruff character is soft and caring under the surface and looks out for children" archetype, which his RP character doesn't seem to be (outside of MAYBE qsmp, the story that literally became about parenting through peril, but i know this goes back further than that). Is it just because he's older by internet standards and people can't imagine people with more than a 3-year age difference interacting in a way that isn't """parental""? was it a one-off joke that got taken too far? is this all a symptom from the dsmp plot point that snowballed to the extreme? i need to ask because it is just SO far-reaching and i see no clear origin and as you can imagine that is confusing.

Okay so. This is a fascinating question because as I throw my mind back I am a little fuzzy on the actual order of events. I think it was a bunch of things happening that kind of compounded, but to the best of my knowledge what happened was:

Through SMPEarth and MCC, the original sleepy bois becomes popular. Technoblade, Philza, and Wilbur Soot. Shipping is frowned on, so people start getting invested in a family dynamic (often with all three of them as siblings). Through a MCC win, Tommyinnit (also exploding in popularity) gets added to the "official sleepy boys" dynamic, and now we have 4/4— still often interpreted as siblings, if you ever read Snapshots in Lavender, which is drawing from this time period.

Wilbur particularly is huge into the family dynamic, often talking about being twins with techno, brothers with tommy, and referring to Phil as dad and Dadza (cause he was ten years older and that means of course he's OLD and DAD, and Wilbur had a daddy kink). When SBI joins DSMP, wilbur takes the opportunity to canonize Phil as his dad in lore at the same time as he makes Phil kill his character, and tries repeatedly to make Techno his twin, and refers to tommy and him as "like brothers" a lot. Tommy plays into the dadza stuff (he is like a decade and a half younger than Phil so at least it makes more sense) and also is clearly relying on Phil for things like tech support and moral support as the fandom is exploding. Phil is dependable and safe, therefore dad. Fandom takes this and RUNS with it. Passerine happens, and Phil gets written as the dad of wilbur and tommy, Techno as an ambiguously sworn brother to phil, and brother/father/mentor to wilbur and tommy.

Pandemic is happening. 30k people are showing up to Phil streams. TTS off kids basically in distress are latching onto Phil as a supportive and dependable figure who they are seeing as dad in fanfic and on Wilbur streams as Wilbur is playing up the dad thing whenever he interacts with Phil. Phil is like (to the fandom) sure if you haven't got a dad or a good dad you can call me dad I guess and just sort of laughs at his friends calling him dad.

Techno puts his foot down in canon that Wilbur is not his twin, though that doesn't stop either Wilbur or the fandom, and Phil clarifies that Tommy isn't his kid, and Techno isn't his kid, just Wilbur, and this does not stop fandom at all. Tommyinnit's Unbeatable Method and Clinic for Supervillains are written in this period, and Phil dad and techno+wilbur+tommy trio of kids are locked in. Other huge fanfics use this lens— importance of being kind, ars poetica, his curse of binding— a few people such as silverwing are doing techno and phil platonic marriage with wilbur and tommy adopted kids, but the phil=dad lens is inescapable. Even bones in the ocean, which I think might be the biggest phil-centric fic, has a subplot about him being wilbur's dad and how that went.

We start getting into fandom schisms about if Phil is a good dad or a bad dad in canon, with his treatment of Wilbur/Ghostbur/Tommy being variously argued. A common refrain is that cc phil is a great dad, c phil is a terrible dad, so this fic is writing phil as a good dad cause that's what's real. Phil in real life continues to have no actual children, but the fandom refers to Phil as techno+tommy+wilbur's dad so often that he puts "father of three" as his end screen. [EDIT: i have been informed that Tommy made that and send it to Phil and told him to put it as his end screen, so that was still Phil just playing along.] It becomes a common interpretation that okay in LORE phil is only wilbur's dad, but in like pure SBI phil is everybody's dad, and people are writing just the pure character dynamic, not LORE. This is still tagged as not RPF. Dark SBI starts to happen.

The DSMP kind of stutters to a halt, with various endings good bad or contentious. Technoblade passes. The fandom declines, but the fan fiction is kind of self sustaining at this point and has firmly established character interpretations. People are regularly showing up to Phil streams to call him dad. He keeps saying that he's just a guy playing block game, but it's fine if people call him dad if that helps them.

QSMP happens. Wilbur immediately assigns Phil as his dad again, though Phil manages to wiggle out of it enough to say that it's not a bio relationship, they just met on the train. Phil becomes a father of an egg child, and the Phil good/bad dad wars start up again. People start interpreting DSMP canon through the lens of Phil's QSMP actions and explaining how that makes him a good or bad dad. However, shipping is kinda legalized due to Phil having a (platonic) husband, so the lens of viewing Phil as a character in a relationship starts up, but the phil-dad people also continue, notably interpreting team bolas as a family with phil as the dad, and starting wars on the wiki about who gets listed as Phil's family and how/why.

Wilbur is revealed as a domestic abuser, the QSMP ends, and both arms of the fandom decline again. Phil's stream numbers are declining to a more manageable level where he can actually read chat and respond to donos, and he starts responding more firmly to people saying that they love him, dadza, saying that that's parasocial and they don't know him. He is notably no longer laughing at it, and he re-emphasizes that he's just a guy playing block game on the internet. We still get like one dono a stream fully latched onto him as their dad.

A year later, Phil blocks dadza in his chat.

Which is to say to my knowledge it mostly came from fanfiction/other people, and Phil went along with it, and now he is no longer going along with it. He has never seemed particularly dad-y to me, but people viewing him through a wilbur-centric or tommy-centric lens had that wiring laid down for them, and then the fandom fucking Took Off With It with how popular those characters/character focuses were. That's my understanding of what happened, if anyone else wants to chime in go for it.

A funny, and kind of annoying, thing I've come to realise that the SBI family dynamic truthers really don't understand why the SBI family dynamic wasn't made canon in the DSMP. Cause from what I remember it was mainly because it didn't make sense for Techno's character, specifically because of his dynamic with Tommy.

Cause yeah, if Techno and Tommy were brothers, half the shit in Pogtopia would have happened very differently. Hell, Tommy's exile would have happened a lot differently. First thing is Tommy would have stepped in during the festival cause he would have known Techno doesn't do well with peer-pressure (likely only being stopped by Wilbur holding him back), and even if he for some reason didn't try and stop Tubbo's execution the pit fight wouldn't have happened cause Techno wouldn't want to beat the shit out of his little brother. The Withers likely still would have happened along with the Theseus speech but it likely would have been less of a threat and more of a warning.

Then comes exile where Techno would still laugh an "I told you so" at him while dragging Tommy's dumbass back to his cabin. Which wouldn't have prevented Dream from visiting but would have prevented the TNT stuff because Dream's whole manipulation plan was based around Wilbur's way of controlling Tommy in Pogtopia (which I could go on an entirely separate rant about but I don't want to make this ask too long). Which Techno doesn't even think about. There's also the fact that in this hypothetical, Tommy would now be staying and listening to the brother that doesn't hate Dream's guts and isn't gunning for power.

Honestly I could be wrong and incredibly biased about this but I am so tired of the "c!Techno and c!Phil are neglectful family members" trope, cause while it could make sense for Phil's character, it doesn't for Techno. Not with how dedicated he is with the people he cares about.

Do I think that Tommy would go as far as to help with Doomsday in this AU/hypocritical? Maybe, considering Tommy would be there when the Butcher Army shows up or if Techno changes his pitch from "Tubbo betrayed you" to "L'Manburg is driving you and Tubbo apart".

Honestly I've just been reading way too many fics where SBI is canon and Techno is way too ready to kill Dream as though Techno wouldn't have dragged Tommy to the cabin the first night of exile if it was his brother, and not some random kid he met during a revolution that was the surrogate brother of his bestfriends son.

At most there would have been one instance of Dream blowing Tommy's things up that first night and that would be it.

Sorry for the long rant, this could have been its own post on my page but I thought you would have an interesting take on this kind of topic considering your a lot more knowledgeable on Dream's character then I am.

Well I mean the biggest argument for sbi not being canon is all of the ccs said so lol. But as you point out it also just doesn’t make sense canonically speaking either. Now we could say that siblings act differently toward each other and in other stories we certainly see that difference in closeness. There is also age gap to consider, all of my siblings and I are 2-3 years apart, which is pretty close, but the further the gap is the more that sibling dynamic changes and can even become more parental. Also, siblings tend to have more conflict during young adult years as they all try and figure themselves out, becoming more independent and setting boundaries and such. Sibling dynamics just tend to be different and it does depend on childhood and parenting, and personality. Especially I think (as a middle of 4) the bigger the family the more drama and conflict there is. So there is technically a world in which sbi exist with the canonical dynamic between Techno and Tommy.

However, you are also right, that that dynamic would stay consistent and yet many fanfic writers tend to have their dynamics and behavior change, where Techno becomes more protective and close to Tommy. In other words, you could have the same dynamic and sbi, but it shouldn’t change. And in that sense, after spending months locked up with Dream and after Tommy siding with the country who tried to kill him and unable during Doomsday to see the problems with that, I don’t personally think Techno would choose Tommy over Dream. Dream saved his life, what has Tommy ever done for Techno? Sure Phil, but Phil doesn’t have much of a relationship with Dream, so that’s different.

Anyways, I’m not so sure Tommy would have stepped in at the festival. Because I think he trusted Techno and his strength to be able to handle it and being his sibling wouldn’t change that. Afterwards, I think perhaps he would be more understanding of Techno’s reasoning and maybe even forgive him. As far as the pit goes, I think it still could have been a thing. For starters, because the violence scale on the dsmp is scuffed and like people be pushing each other off roofs and stabbing for fun. So, I could totally see it be more like a roughhouse time or whatever, I mean in my experience brothers in general tend to fight, even if it’s a little sibling.

Yeah I mean his line ‘You want to be the hero, Tommy? Then die like one!’ Might not have happened, especially since that happens before the bigger betrayal. I think him calling Tommy Theseus was kind of a warning anyways, but that’s besides the point.

I do think I agree, that on the first day, when Techno comes to visit Tommy in exile he would have dragged him to the cabin. Leaving Dream to search for him and perhaps eventually end up at Techno’s. Perhaps since that scenario Techno would be more involved and it’s less Tommy snuck into your basement, Techno would strike a deal with Dream that he’ll keep an eye on Tommy and keep him away from the main server area. This goes well until the Butcher Army happens causing Techno to go after L’manberg. Given that Tubbo is still Tommy’s ex-friend, and without Exile he didn’t spend as much time alone thinking about how all of his friends don’t visit him and stuff, I think perhaps he would be more resistant to destroying L’manberg… whether Techno could influence Tommy enough to make him more neutral to Dream and more anti-government, I think is hard to say. Tommy has hated Dream and seen him as a bad guy, who even got him exiled, for a long time and Wilbur certainly sank his claws of propaganda into him. However, Wilbur’s death and betrayal certainly takes away some of his influence. Techno is good at pointing out the reasoning and obvious - You blackmailed Dream and expected it to go well? Bruhhh…- maybe Tommy would listen or maybe not I could see both ways. He is stubborn, but also Techno’s influence, the lack of Wilbur’s influence, and the lack of Dream’s exile manipulation (not sure what you mean by being based on Wilbur, you should write an essay about it) could be enough to turn Tommy’s alliance a bit. Not sure it’d be enough to make him participate in Doomsday though, I think Techno would keep his point that ‘Tubbo betrayed you’ and that ‘the government divided you,’ which without Dream around would be alot easier to convince Tommy of.

Yea it is sad to see them portray Techno that way, especially as you said, we see Techno more so reflect how much he cares for all of his loved ones and animals. I mean Phil is canonically neglectful to Wilbur, unless we use some kind of reasoning of why he couldn’t come to the server before, but even his behavior when Will is revived isn’t great. But Techno is hardly neglectful.

I don’t think Tommy is some random kid. I always got the impression they were friends before like from smp earth and that Wilbur was more so the stranger. Especially as there is that conversation (I think with L’mandog) where Wilbur says ‘I just don’t know you that well yet.’ So Tommy and Techno were always a friend-ish relationship. Unlike Tubbo though, Techno didn’t just follow Tommy, he stood up for his principles and goals even when Tommy opposed them.

Well, hopefully I addressed all of your points, I don’t even think I talked about Dream much lol. I’m trying to imagine how things would be different for him if Exile didn’t happen and honestly I think it’d change a lot. Though L’manberg would still be plotting against Dream so Doomsday would still happen. But would some of the other things? If there was a huge rift between Tommy and Tubbo and Tommy was behaving thanks to Techno, then the disc finale might not have happened. Still, Dream is still scared of a big unkillable threat so a prison would still be built, and everyone still hates Dream so perhaps he’d still plan to put himself inside. But then you have the circumstances in prison, would they be as bad without Exile? Would Tommy even bother to come visit him, would he still kill Tommy in prison, certainly not if Techno was still aligned with him. Maybe he’d instead try and manipulate Tommy into pitying him and telling Techno he needs to get out or something…

I don’t know… it’s interesting to think about though…

Can someone help choose which fic I write?

I have an AO3 account where I write Dreamsmp fanfictions (I don’t support the toxic content creators) and I currently have two fic ideas that I can’t choose between. So these are the options for anyone who wants to read this little rant about each of them. (These are not prompts. These are my ideas. You can take inspiration but please don’t write these yourself)

option 1: Tommyinnit-centric. Revolves around SBI. Set in an original fantasy world. There’s two kingdoms. Tommy is from the darker kingdom, full of mythological monsters. The rest of SBI is from the neighboring kingdom, full of more friendly enchantment. You know how it goes. Found family fics. If you asked me to summarize it to one sentence, it would essentially be “Tommy commits illegal border crossing and accidentally gets adopted” Some other small details: 1. Phil is a baker, single father of Wilbur. Kristin is the queen, single mother of Techno. Wilbur and Techno are best friends and there’s a sub plot of them trying to get their parents together. 2. Tommy has an unidentified chronic illness that causes fatigue, weakness, and sometimes lightheadedness. 3. Niki is a witch. We love to see it. 4. There’s occasional references to the song Harpy Hare.

Option 2. Tommyinnit centric. Revolves around bedrock bros. Has anyone watched that Barbie movie where she gets trapped inside of a video game? Because it’s like that but graphic. Since it’s a pvp game in a randomized setting (Sort of like the hunger games). Hear me out please- Wilbur (Tommy’s brother) plays that game a lot, with his alleged online friend Techno. Tommy just so happened to steal the controller when this mass phenomenon happens that causes a bunch of players to be well.. trapped in the game. Unhinged, I know. But Tommy finds Techno in the game and they have to survive until further notice. Some extra details: 1. By the start of the game, everyone is kind of working together. But eventually the idea comes up that “what if the last man standing gets let out?” and that’s when other players are threats too. 2. Tommy is 13. Techno is 17. Techno will also be written with some level of fear because before this, he is NOT an intimidating blood god as seen in most fics. He was literally just some guy who plays video games. So he’s a little more held together than Tommy but I’m trying to make it realistic. 3. All players are stuck in the bodies of their avatars. Which are made to look like their dsmp selves. So Tommy looks a lot like c!Wilbur for half of the fic, since he had stolen the control from Wilbur. (Changes later). 4. There’s details to remind you it’s a video game. Techno complains of the constant music playing, but Tommy can’t hear it because before this, Wilbur had that setting muted. And whenever Tommy gets close to a raised platform, he accidentally jumps onto it, because Wilbur had auto jump on. They eventually figure out that they can change the settings somehow

Storytime 1 - Dsmp alt timeline i guess? Techno breaking Dream out of prision but ends up keeping him trapped in his artic home to help "rehabilitate" him better than Quackity ever could. Turns more discduo centric real quick but has the rest of sbi all participating in uh..."helping" Dream get better. It actually is kinda soft if you ignore all the uh. Dark behaviors attached lmao. This one I have a beginning to end and is super self indulgent heheheh

Storytime 2 - A kind of mafia au where Dream is a dragon hybrid and ends up being tortured by Quackity so badly his mental breaks and only acts like his hybrid counterpart. After being trained like an obedient animal, he's "given" to sbi and ends up trailing Tommy around because of backstory stuff. Discduo centric again with a lot more rivals involved. Has a lot of world building kinda and I actually didn't write the most notes for this one but I remember it so clearly lmao Way less dark imo actually as sbi "want" Dream to get better but they're not really trying their best :3c Is most definitely not completed as I didn't know how I wanted to progress it at a certain point

Storytime 3 - LMAO I have no notes written for this except the premise omg. But it's a more rivals centric au where they're both part of some hybrid testing ability and are eventually rescued by Phil(and others). Phil is convinced Techno is his long lost son and wants to take him in but has to reluctantly take in Dream too as Techno refuses to leave him. Leads to rest of SBI kinda gaslighting Dream to be a "better" family member and while also trying to get Techno unattached from Dream too. It's actually pretty long and has two separate arcs I wanna say, with Phil and after Phil lmao It also has like. Way more than this and involves XD and Blood God in pretty significant ways too haha Also is completed in my head but like...super loosely..

Storytime 4 - Mainly discduo centric where Dream is a trapped baby god in some facility run by XD. This one is difficult to explain and kind of nonsensical but XD wants to find out how a godlings magic can be utilized to the max and is using Techno and Wilbur(not trapped in the facility and are more like....borrowed from other gods/patrons) to see how Dream reacts to "stimuli" and relations and how that affects the magic. Wilbur..."dies" at one point and leads to Dream to fall in a kind of depression(as he eventually conditioned himself to be codependent to Wilbur and Techno oops) which XD is upset at cause it's messing up his experiment. Techno ends up bringing Tommy to replace Wilbur. It's like....really weirdly complex and hard to summarize. Doesn't have an end per say as I wanted to do like a second arc but never went further. I guess it does have a conclusion to the first arc though. It's dark in the way that Dream is unintentionally affecting them to Want to be with him and not leave him which leads the others to act irrationally about and with him as well lmao

Yea that's about it! They all seem not that bad on the surface I think! And the notes I have definitely do not have everything I had in mind but thankfully I brainrotted on these for so long they're seared into my brain lmao

Okay I love me a bit of angst turned comfort times so let’s go back to a classic trope.

Now for most pixies, the warning and stories of destruction would be enough to warrant not exploring these claims, but not for a certain blonde boy.

More or less you Wilbur having a nice afternoon in the forest with Tommy a pixie just coming and watching. He never makes his presence known or anything but he enjoys just observing them. But then I think it would be fun for like 3x Tommy saves Wilbur and the 1x Wilbur saves Tommy thing.

Like Wilbur gets stuck in a ditch, and Tommy decides to help him out. He doesn’t actively reveal himself, but Wilbur kinda sees glimpses and hence keeps coming back hoping maybe one day they can meet. He unfortunately just keeps getting hurt too lol.

Cue this also being a time of magic hunters that just so happen to find the Glade Wilbur’s been coming too and finding Tommy who’s gotten a little too comfortable.

Wilbur just so happens to see his little friend captured and then saves him. Tommy kinda passes out tho so he takes him home till he recovers etc and then cue first real meetings and becoming friends.

is there anything in the Works that you are exited to post/share ?

Absolutely yeah

I've been pretty excited about shameful company and the direction that's going in. I have been plotting the various ways I will destroy Wilbur which is a neat pastime. Not to spoil but I'm really excited to watch the relationship between he and Tommy go to ruin for like two or three chapters straight.

Your love is also going well. Current debate in my head is on how much I want to isolate each character / what way. I'm tempted to make tommy the most horrifying little critter but I also think it'd be funny if he was the only human.

I've been trying with cold love a lot too. I'm not sure if I want to complete it but I have the plot in my head. dragon!Quackity makes an appearance, makes Wilbur less insane & explains to sbi what's wrong with him (instincts), and then he takes 3/4 sbi back to village while they're sleeping (so they don't have to be conscious when he eats them again for the trip). Uhhh. Wilbur moves out across town because he doesn't think they want him anymore. They periodically drag him back and try to reassure him he is still loved despite being a dragon. Mild tensions due to the kingdom wanting to kill the dragon. I have a scene in my head everytime I listen to tongues and teeth where Wilbur is vent-performing it in a tavern late at night when sbi walks in and sees it. I imagine in this scenario that some of the lyrics likes 'a mouth so sharp and cruel' are perjorative terms for dragons. So to an audience that doesn't know Wilbur's secret it reads like him drawing a parallel between him and a dragon but to sbi they realize he's just tearing himself down and hates himself. But I don't really write songfics? So this likely won't happen. It happens in my head.

One More Step Out of the Pit: Chapter 3/26

Summary: It had been Tommy and Tubbo for practically forever. They clawed their way out of hell together. They discovered their superpowers together. They started working for the Superhero Guild together before even coming of age. Tommy probably owed Tubbo his life ten times over. So, when the three supervillains he'd been assigned to bring in managed to take Tubbo hostage, well, there was really only one thing to do.

He knew, of course, he was signing himself up for torture and death by offering that trade, but that was okay.

It'd have to be okay.

“Are these tomatoes?!” An excited scream was what woke Tommy up. It was not even two hours after he’d fallen asleep and part of him wanted to be pissed about being woken up when he was so exhausted. The other part of him smiled into his pillow.

“Cut them open,” Tommy called back.

He listened to the rustling coming from the kitchen area as Tubbo rushed to do as he said. “Seeds?” Tubbo asked after a moment, his voice quieter and closer now like what he was saying was a secret. It was a secret. Tommy peeled his face off of the pillow to look up at the boy in their bedroom doorway. “Where on Earth did you find these?”

“I stumbled on a hidden community garden on the way back from work last night,” Tommy explained.

He watched the war on Tubbo’s face as he bit his lip. His hands were covered in tomato juice from where he’d picked a few seeds out of the vegetable. He was cradling them between his palms now. “These are very illegal to have,” he said. Yet, despite his half-hearted protest, the seeds had already started to sprout in his hands. As Tommy watched, a baby stem curled up his finger, a pair of leaves opening and sitting at the tip of his thumb.

“You should find some dirt for them,” Tommy suggested softly.

“Right,” Tubbo agreed. “Dirt, water… and sun somehow in a place no one can see. Or maybe a grow light in the bathroom? I’ll figure something out.”

Tommy nodded, struggling to keep his eyes open. Tubbo seemed to notice. “I’m sorry,” he said. “I didn’t mean to wake you up. I was just excited.”

“I know Tubs,” Tommy yawned.

“You got back kinda late last night, huh?”

“Had a run in with the SBI,” he said.

“Are you hurt?” Tubbo asked, concerned.

Tommy shook his head. “They didn’t even manage to get a finger on me,” he assured proudly, but then deflated a bit. “But, uh, Dream wasn’t too happy that I didn’t arrest them. I got whatever they were trying to steal, but that wasn’t enough for him. So… no paycheck.”

Tubbo frowned. “What were you supposed to do?” he asked. “1v3 the SBI of all people?”

“Apparently.”

“That’s not fair.”

“Life’s not fair,” Tommy reminded.

“I hate that you fight them,” Tubbo said, quietly. “The Blade killed 4 level 6 heroes with a flashlight and a set of car keys two years ago and that’s with him being taken unaware and alone.”

He’d also held a sword to Tommy’s neck once. It had been just them alone in an alleyway. He’d lowered it a moment later and slipped away into darkness without a word. Tubbo didn’t know that though.

“Eh, Philza’s scarier and Whippoorwill’s more creatively bloodthirsty.”

“They shouldn’t send you after any of them.”

“They know I’m a big man!” He paused at the look on Tubbo’s face. “I’ll be fine,” he promised.

“I just worry…”

“Don’t,” Tommy said. “I’m wily. Like the coyote… wait, no. I’m the Road Runner! The Road Runner wins those things, right? Never gets caught, right?” He’d never really had an opportunity to watch cartoons. He’d just absorbed knowledge from other people talking about them. “That’s me! Meep meep motherfucker.”

Tubbo cracked a half smile. “Well,” he said. “No paycheck, but we do have veggies and veggies that will regrow if we’re careful to hide them. Well, the tomatoes are fruit, but still.”

“Not a fruit,” Tommy enlightened him.

“I… they are?”

“No,” Tommy said solemnly. “I reject that reality.”

Tubbo stared at him for a moment and then shook his head. “Go back to sleep Tommy. I’ve got to get ready for work anyway. I’ll make you something for breakfast and leave it in the fridge.”

“Mmm, thanks.”

“See you at work,” Tubbo said, closing the door behind him. He and Tubbo’s work schedules just barely overlapped. He worked 4am-2pm and Tommy worked Noon-10pm with one day off a week. They’d somehow managed to scam having the same days off this month thanks to Puffy, which was nice. Otherwise, they’d barely see each other except when they were both asleep.

Thinking of sleep...

Tommy woke to the sound of an alarm on his phone at 8am. He barely resisted the urge to throw it out the window. The only thing that stopped him was that it was expensive company property, and he did not need to have that added to his bills.

Groaning, he pulled himself out of bed and into the small bathroom to take a shower. He hadn’t gotten the opportunity to wash the gross off himself last night. He winced in sympathy for Tubbo as his bedmate.

A few minutes later, he was padding into the kitchen. He glanced in the fridge to see a Tupperware container labeled ‘Breakfast’ in Tubbo’s horrible handwriting. Popping open the lid revealed scrambled eggs with tomatoes mixed in, and after making some toast, Tommy sat down on the recliner to eat. (It’s fine. It was already stained to hell when the dragged it up here from the trash, so it wouldn’t matter if he spilled.) There was a sticky note on the arm that didn’t have a bite taken out of it. ‘Buy melk and bread today, pls.-Tub’ it read.

Tommy grabbed the discarded pen next to it and wrote ‘No.-Tom’ with a smile on his face. It looked like he was going to the store before his shift today. He glanced at the time on his phone. Ugh. He should probably get moving if he wanted to get to the shop and back before needing to leave for his shift.

Reluctantly, he put his dishes in the sink and went to the bedroom to change. He pulled Tubbo’s green hoodie over his t-shirt for warmth since it wasn’t like the boy was using it right now, and it was the warmest piece of civilian clothing they had. He counted out how much money he had in his wallet, winced, and dug his hand into their ‘saving’s account’ (and old pickle jar).

Figuring he had enough cash on him, he left the apartment. His and Tubbo’s apartment was on the 2nd floor of the building. It was the lowest priced housing they could find within walking distance of the Hero Guild’s HQ. They’d had the option of living at the much nicer apartments the Hero Guild provided, but they’d quickly learned those came with a cost much steeper than the one they paid for their dirty little two room apartment. They’d bolted as soon as they’d realized the apartments came pre-outfitted with cameras. They weren’t dumb.

They were lucky, really, that they were able to afford this place even with its lack of an elevator and staircase so rickety that Tommy was worried he’d need to use his powers to survive them one of these days.

It wasn’t that the Hero Guild didn’t pay well, it was that it didn’t pay people like Tubbo and Tommy well. Your salary wasn’t based on what you did or who you fought. It was calculated based on two things: years of experience and rank. He and Tubbo each had a bit more than one year of experience. Tubbo had rank 1. Tommy had rank 1.5 even though he’d regularly been doing rank 5, maybe even rank 6 work lately, but people under 18 weren’t allowed anything above rank 1.5.

Then, on top of that, they were both hit with what was referred to as the “teenager tax.” Minors weren’t really allowed to work for the Superhero Guild, at least not on their own. They needed an adult sponsor (which was actually kind of the opposite of a sponsor because part of Tommy and Tubbo’s paycheck was siphoned off to them in payment for being mentors.)

Still, it was better than how Tommy and Tubbo had been surviving on the streets ever since Tubbo was tossed out of his house. They were, at the end of the day, able to pool their resources to pay rent and eat every month no matter how much of a stretch it ended up being sometimes.

Plus, they wouldn’t be 16 forever. With Dream as his sponsor, three years of experience, and the work he’d already been doing for the Guild, he was positioned perfectly to climb the ranks quickly when he shucked the shackles of childhood. He’d be making the biiig money then. Tubbo would probably struggle a bit more since his power was not really a combative one, but Tommy was sure he’d also get promoted eventually.

Who knew, if Tommy managed to be good enough and to kept Dream’s favor, maybe Tubbo could even quit and get a gardener’s license or something. That would be nice. He’d definitely be happier then. Tubbo with a garden of his own. Now that’d be a sight to see.

The thought put a smile on his face as he entered the small grocery store a couple of minutes later. The woman manning the till gave him a suspicious look as he entered, probably because he was an obviously poor teenager with no parents to be seen. Tommy half wished he was allowed to flaunt his superhero identity so people would stop glowering at him like he was going to steal shit whenever he went anywhere. Of course, if he did that, then people like Whippoorwill with his desire to slowly peel Tommy’s flesh off his bones to make into soup (Yes, it did sound gross. Yes, Whippoorwill really had said that. And just because Tommy sprayed mace into his mouth one time! Dude was mental.) would be able to track him down at home. That would put Tubbo at risk.

As it was, he had to bear the lady’s unpleasant expression as he scanned the aisles.

“Can I help you?” she asked in a nasty voice after he stood there for a few seconds too long apparently.

Tommy rolled his eyes and pulled the wad of cash out of his pocket to show to her. “Buying bread.”

“Aisle 2,” she said, still sounding like a fucking asshole, but not quite like she was going to push the panic button behind the counter to summon a hero to arrest him.

Ignoring the eyes that remained on him, he wandered over to peer at the expiration dates on the bread. He was trying to decide which option was better: bread that was a bit more expensive but would last longer or bread that was cheaper and expired in a few days when he heard the sound of metal scrapping on metal.

Tommy’s head jerked up to see some guy with a giant sword at the front counter. Now, Tommy could immediately tell he didn’t quite know what he was doing with a sword, and it was much too big for his lack of muscles, but still, anyone could be dangerous with a giant sharp thing in their hands.

Ugh. Come on. He wasn’t on duty. He didn’t even have his costume for crying out loud.

“Man, do you really have to right now?” Tommy asked him as he rounded the corner, irritated. It probably… wasn’t the wisest thing to say, but it did get his attention away from the nasty lady by the register that he was holding at sword point. Tommy grimaced when he realized she was too far away from the panic button to hit it.

“You have a problem, kid?” the sword wielder asked.

“Yeah,” Tommy said, taking a nonchalant step closer. The guy let him, seeming not to register him as a threat in the slightest in the too tight green sweater with a daisy on it and ripped jeans. “Last night really fucking sucked for me. You couldn’t have done this, I don’t know, in 20 minutes?”

“Believe it or not I’m not on your schedule,” he said with a curled lip. The sword had dropped just a bit, too heavy for him especially when his attention was split. “Now shut up, kid.”

He took his eyes off of Tommy for a moment to return to his crimeing and Tommy jerked forward, grabbing his wrist and twisting. The sword clattered to the floor and the nasty checkout lady took her chance to dive for the panic button.

The man stared at him in shock for a moment as Tommy kicked away the sword, but he quickly recovered, fury on his face. He lunged forward suddenly taking Tommy unaware as he’d been focused on making sure the sword was far enough away. Unfortunately, that hadn’t been the only sharp thing on him. Tommy gasped even as he punched the guy in the face sending him sprawling.

A moment later, a superhero Tommy vaguely recognized, the Boomerang or something, crashed though the door and surveyed the scene. The nasty lady pointed at the man Tommy had just punched and who was getting to his feet with a bloodied knife. Boomerang was on him in a second.

Tommy slowly looked down at his bleeding side, feeling a bit dizzy.

“A-are you okay kid?” the woman at the register asked. She suddenly seemed to be trying to be a whole lot nicer to Tommy.

Tommy breathed slowly, strangely calm. Why, oh why, did he have to get stabbed off duty? He didn’t have the money to deal with this sort of crap. At least it didn’t seem too bad… Tommy thought. “Does the store have medical supplies, perchance?” he asked as Boomerang stopped beating the sword man’s face in and started to put him in handcuffs.

“Shouldn’t you… go to the hospital?” she asked.

“Nah, he’s as bad with a knife as he was with the sword,” Tommy said. “‘Tis just a flesh wound.” Probably. He hoped.

She looked at him for a long moment. “I…” she said and honestly the concern pinching at her brow was just annoying. Tommy almost liked her better when she was being a bitch. “Yeah, we should have some stuff. Let me… Let me go look for you.”

Tommy nodded at her. “Okay,” he said. “I’m gonna…” He slowly sunk down onto his knees. “I think I’m going to sit here for a minute ‘till the shock wears off.”

so. currently actually sobbing bc i made the horrible decision to look through techno’s channel. i saw the gravity mod vid he posted after the announcement that he had cancer. i remember being so happy. sbi content! god. i still haven’t watched the video. yknow the one. a year ago i tried to watch squids video on part of the potato war. i didnt get 3 mins in b4 i heard his voice (he was celebrating!! he was happy!) and started crying. maybe in a decade ill be able to watch it and smile. and ill be able to watch the new one, and old ones and laugh like i used to. i looked through the community posts. he really loved birds, didnt he? i feel so bad for his dad.

june 2022. worst month of my life i think. everything happened at once. on june 1st lizzy was over. i was so desperately in love with her. still in denial about the inevitable friend zone. we went to zydecos grad party! she left halfway through to call her ex. they got back together. the facade was broken. obviously she didn’t like me back and anything romantic with her is a pipe dream. (i mean who would ever love to be attracted to an ugly fat pig like me?) so lizzy is over. im trying to ignore the heartbreak. then i hear the news. techno died. my sister hears it from a friend and tells me. the ppl we have over dont get it. they dont get why it hits me so hard, and god i dont want to explain it. so i pretend im fine. keep hosting, keep being nice. every second is agony! i cry myself to sleep. that had stopped a few months ago. i wasnt suicidal anymore but god. 2 weeks later im starting to back to *normal* levels of summer break depression. my dad finds out. he loved techno. im gone again. my mom fonds out, she doesn’t know who he is., doesn’t know the other 3 ppl at the table have already been grieving. shes lost so many to cancer. “did you hear about that minecraft youtuber who died of cancer? he was only 23, its so sad” i didnt know what to say. “yes i watched him everyday for 4 years his videos were the only thing that could get me to sleep when i started having suicidal thoughts if not for him i wouldn’t be here and now he dead.” yeah.

i still didn’t get over lizzy for months. fantasizing about a life with her was my escape. it was unrealistic and i couldn’t think about her like that anymore. then my dad brought covid home from work. june 23rd, my mom almost dies. thats the worst day of my life. it was mcc day. i was watching it on my tv, because my dad went to see his parents and mom was sick. she had been in bed for days. she got sick a lot. she had bronchitis for 10 years at this point. i was taking care of her. she was obviously delirious. asking me to pour water on her because she was so hot. i didnt know what to do. i waited for so long. i couldn’t deal with this right now i needed to de stress not have more. it got too much, i called my dad and he said she must have high blood sugar. fuck. i looked at her insulin log, nothing written for 2 days. fuck fuck fuck. he told me, if she cant draw her own blood for a reading, call 911. so we did. she could have died. if i waited any longer she could have passed out and stopped breathing. she went to the hospital. medically induced coma, intubated. she had told us many times shed rather die than be on a ventilator. none of us mentioned it. she was in a coma for 2 weeks. woke up, had to be in vent for longer. she was finally extubated. she couldn’t talk but she managed to be sarcastic still. i had to hold back tears. best day of my life.

that month changed the course of my life forever. my disability was most likely caused by the mild covid infection i got b4 my mom got sick. my mom doesn’t have a fungal lung infection anymore. my parents are sleeping in the same room again, and going to therapy. my mom has a cgm and a cpap and is on top of her health.

i cant stand the sounds of artificial breathing after sitting next to her for so long. im more afraid of my future than ever. im still getting over my best friend (fuck being demiromantic man) and i am still crying over technoblade.

So there's currently a situation going on twitter regarding Shubble being a victim of abuse with a lot of things she and other people have said that seem to point to a certain cc.

I apologise if all this sounds vague if you are unaware of what's happening, I'm just mainly going through the motions and am possessing my feelings.

In terms of what I think, I won't speculate who the individual is as no name as been dropped along with the fact that it won't help the victim, that doesn't mean I won't take action.

So currently my thoughts are that I continue my zombie fic, as it was 3/4 sbi anyway. For my other fics I will continue working on three of them as I find each one of them dear to me, though as much as it hurts I may end up cancelling one of them (that being 'to live again') as I've been struggling to continue working on it and this situation hasn't helped.

My finished fics will be kept up. I'm not archiving them and have spent too much time to just delete them. Any drafts I've written will probably go into the Bookshelf where I post all my prompts. If I do end up making a new fic then it might be solely turtle duo (Techno, Tommy and Phil).

And lastly, aside from when I post the final chapter to 'a light in the cabin' I will no longer be making posts when a fic gets updated. So I highly recommend that you subscribe to my ao3 if you want to know when something has been updated.

What are Balanced Funds?

Have you ever wondered where the SBI Balanced Fund invests in? For that, we must start with understanding the concept of balanced funds. Balanced funds mix their portfolio between equity and debt in a rather rigid proportion. For example, the mix can be between 60:40 in favour of equities to 60:40 in favour of debt. What are Balanced Advantage Funds?

Balanced Funds and Balanced Advantage Funds appear similar, but differ in terms of asset mix and discretion. There are similarities and dissimilarities between Balanced Funds and Balanced Advantage Funds (BAFs). This evaluation can identify best balanced advantage funds that fit your choice.

What about tax treatment? Balanced Funds are treated as non-equity (debt) funds since the equity exposure is less than 65%.

Balanced Advantage Funds are treated as equity funds since total equity levels are always maintained above 65% by way of including allocation to equity derivatives.

The next time you come across the SBI Balanced Advantage Fund or the SBI Mutual Fund Balanced Advantage Fund; remember that it is a dynamic hybrid fund with substantial allocation discretion for the fund manager.

Who should invest in Balanced Funds?

Balanced Funds are ideal for investors who are looking at longer term returns with better managed risk. The debt component also enables steady income. Balanced Fund are a good step to onboard an investor to equity as the risk gets gradually graded higher. It is for investors looking to have a more conservative approach to long term wealth creation. In fact, Balanced Funds are the more pristine form of rule-based hybrid funds. Investors who do not want too much of fund manager volition can opt for Balanced Funds.

Who should invest in Balanced Advantage Funds?

In a BAF, the returns are based on dynamic asset allocation and these are considered ideal for first time investors or conservative investors to test the waters. Investors who are comfortable with moderate volatility in their investment portfolio and have investment horizon of 3-5 years should consider investing in this fund. The dynamic allocation feature helps in reducing the volatility.

The moral of the story is that the next time you see any talk of an SBI balanced fund (or SBI hybrid fund), know that we are talking about an amalgam of debt and equity with different mixes and different levels of fund manager discretion.

Eyes, Blood, Fear. I had an eldritch Phil phase for a while and wrote four fics in this little series. This one is about Tommy being adopted by an absolutely horrifying and unsettling creature! :D

6.Fic with the angstiest ending: Hmmm that's a tough one. I have Strong Opinions about happy endings, so even my angsty fics almost always have some hope at the end, if nothing else. I think I planned for Counting the Ceiling Tiles to have a pretty angsty ending, that's a DSMP unethical magical experimentation type fic.

7.Fic with the happiest ending: Very proud of It Takes Three, a Marin and Ravio and Legend wedding fic :D That one was a collaboration with heademptilee! Let my boy be happy and cry like a baby on his wedding day, he deserves it

8.Do you get hate? I did for a little bit in. I want to say late 2021/early 2022? A bunch of people from Twitter were absolutely vicious about my decision to make a villain character transphobic, and didn't really back off even when I deleted those chapters. Crazy times. I haven't had anything like that happen before or since

Mmm several of my DSMP fics, I had so many good ideas for them and then I had to take an abrupt step back from the fandom and all my motivation just fizzled. Also Forcing a Change, I had a scene from the very end of the fic written out and was SO excited for people to see it but never ended up getting that far

18.Thoughts on mixed language dialogue? As someone who was big into Clone Wars and The Mandalorian for a while, I love a bit of culture building or character building through language. I think there are right and wrong ways to do it, but as long as you're being respectful and do your research (and preferably either have a translation in the notes, or make it obvious what's being said through context), it can really add to a story.

19.First fandom you ever wrote for? Doctor Who! It quickly became a Superwholock crossover even though Doctor Who was the only show of the three I had actually seen haha. It's sitting in a folder on my computer where no one will ever see it except me, on rare occasions, for nostalgia purposes. The first fic I ever posted anywhere was about a Homestuck oc!

Two Moon Pearls and the Master Sword the chain gatecrash Legend's first quest. Honestly, I'll be surprised if this is ever surpassed. It's my oldest, but also it's a good combination in terms of length, accessibility, and story I think.

Ocarina, Oracle Sequel to the above! The chain gatecrash OoA and OoT. There's a pipeline from people reading Moon Pearls to reading this nowadays. It'll be interesting to see how it goes, it is a longer read after all.

Mandatory Puppy Pile The funniest and shortest fic I have. This was second place after Moon Pearls for a long, long time. We love wolfbrain Twi.

Reasonable Assumptions The little fic that could. This came out after Moon Pearls and it's always done... fine. It's not the funniest, or best, or angstiest or most anything else of anything I've done, but it chugs along. Hyrule, Legend and Wild meet in Hyrule's era. None of them realise time travel has occurred.

Requiem of the Wind Ghost ship and space whales. 8.5k Wind centric one shot. I feel like this one is very me lmao. I like it! It'd be nice if it got more attention. I reckon Fortuity is going to overtake it though.

"Daaaaaad c'mon why can't I comeeeee!" The young dragon hybrid whined, berry collecting basket in hand as he stood in front of the door his father and brother were trying to use to leave.

"It isn't safe for you. Your too you-" "Me and Tech-" He tried to argue back before his brother interjected, "Techno and I."

Wilbur rolled his eyes at the correction. "Techno and I, are the same age! Why wouldn't it also be safe for me!"

"Your not as strong as him and I don't want to see you get hurt." Phil softly sighed, bracing himself for another argument. "But-"

"No-Wilbur you aren't like Techno. Your weaker and your not as good at fighting as him. *You're staying here* now move-"

Techno glanced at his father and then at his brother who's eyes were filled with tears, face scrunched up like he was about to sob.

Phil saw this and immediately tried to correct himself. "Wil-Dew droplet-I didn't mean you couldn't do things for yourself...it's going to be dangerous and Techno is more capable. You both have your own specialties but...."

"T-Techno's more mature and stronger...I know..." The brunet's wings and tail drooped as he stepped to the side, head hung low.

"Chin up Wilbur. We'll be back before...before the end of the harvest alright? And if we're late at all, whether by a day or a second you can pelt us with as many tomatoes you want alright?"

They all giggled, a warm and soft smile across everyone's face. They all said there goodbyes. All going in for hugs and exchanging quick 'I love you's and 'See you soon's as Wilbur's brother and father left to go off somewhere unknown to him.

The young hybrid took care of everything. The garden, the house, the animals that visited. Everything really.

Each day he would always eat a strawberry. They tasted fresh and good for ages...but as the years went by they...changed.

He would sell the berries each day and each day he would ask how they tasted. The answer was always the same. "Sweet and juicy!"

Sour. Sour was what they tasted like to Wilbur. Sour just like the taste in his mouth when his mind wandered to his brother and his father that had never returned. It had been thirteen harvests since they disappeared. He still wasn't over it.

This is a list I will continue to update but these are some of the fics I have read (most of them are already pretty popular but tbf thats for good reason) that I think are just some of my favourite fics

Please note that these are not ranked by anything and I’ll also be making 2 separate lists for Superhero/powers AUs and foster AUs bcs I have read far far far too many of them

1. Ours Poetica by zeeskeit [unfinished] This fic is one of the most masterfully written fics I've read, the poems the author includes are just incredible, I love the pacing as well as the other characters that we get to meet. This fic legitimately made me try learning poetry, I'm shit at it but the writing is literally that inspiringly good

2. Butterfly Reign by SilentTeyz [unfinished] Pain. Agony. But so wonderfully written, I love it. The cutthroat brutality even the nicest characters are capable of bcs that's just what is needed in the royal court is one of my favourite things in this fic, there is only one character in this fic I think is actually in the right 99.9% of the time and that's Tubbo. Also love the reasoning we get behind all the characters actions *cough* Wilbur *cough*. Also Beau is incredible.

3. 3 weeks, 41 critters, 1 human (series) by Badnews [on going series] There are a lot of very good space AU/humans are orcs SBI fics out there but this one takes a popular trope and redefines it into something else. The rest of SBI as aliens slowly realising Tommy has sentience is such a hard thing to write but the author does it in such a way that it's realistic (well as realistic as an alien fic can be) and not rushed with an easy fix-it-all solution

4. Whatever Remains, However Improbable by 7CxRhyeby (completed) This fic was a fic I'm still yet to read anything similar to and I love I for that, Wilbur is a framed detective which suits him so much, the different povs are all so well written its just so *mwah*

5. FOIL v.) [something considered wrong or undesirable] from succeeding by MistBorn_SprenDeath (one shot) ok this one is very short compared to the others but its wonderful, Tommy is blind, vampire SBI are dicks, BUT, Tommy is not compliant or complacent, he is smart and philosophical and doesn’t roll over to be babied and I love that for him. Please read this if you have 5 minutes its so worth it.

6. Vibrations by celestialwarden [completed] I don’t read many canon based fics, I’m more of an AU gal but this fic is an exception, and by that I mean its exceptionally well written. Tommy goes on a healing arc, gets a child, gets a Sean (we stan Sean) what else could you need? It has some heartbreaking angst and reunions, also some terrifying cliff hangers, but it all turns out well in the end. Just keep reminding yourself that especially towards the second half of the fic. You’ll need to.

7. The Case of the Fire Inside by trying_to_spell_both_our_names_at_once [ongoing] Whenever the author replies to a comment I left on the most recent chapter of this fic I immediately put down whatever I’m doing cause that usually means a new chapter is coming out. This fic is so unique, Selkie!Tommy and lighthouse keeper W, T, & P,  Evil bastard dream but older brother dream and its so sweet bcs Tommy is friends with SBI as a seal but also a human but its also so sad cause DREAM dbshbvhdj I love this fic pls read it.

8. Kings To You by Flustered [ongoing] as I mentioned earlier I’m not a huge fan of dark SBI but Tommy in this is just? so? cool? From the first chapter he is so badass, continuously does the impossible (I won’t state his feats cause spoilesrs but he is so cool) and when Techno goes all dark and possessive he’s like ‘fine, you want to make me “yours” well then your mine as well bitch’ He literally just goes “same” when Techno is doing his whole piglin bonding thing. Did I mention he’s badass? He is so badass

9. Diasporas Blue by SilverWing15 [completed] Werewolf Tommy is so perfect always, and SilverWing is such a wonderful writer this fic is just perfect. Its soft and fluffy but everyone is also oblivious idiots, sometimes you just need that hurt/comfort with a little bit of fantasy found family.

10. Blood Brothers (Blood God!Tommy AU) by lockergirl [ongoing series] Tommy (blood gods) just goes and yoinks a select few people that eventually become his family and I love it. This AU is so perfect, I love that the way he meets each SBI member is unique for each of them, its bloody hilarious when everyone thinks Techno is the blood god, plus the way he actively hates blood sacrifices so he befriends Techno when he sacrifices a fucking baked potato and that just becomes a thing from then on. This fic has angst but its also really funny at times, Tommy can be an oblivious mess but he means well

OH GLADLY, it's been my main obsession for a solid two weeks now!

So as mentioned: in this AU, the existence of vampires is common knowledge. It has been since the late 1800s. Vampires and humans have been living in relative harmony, obviously with the caveat that there's tension on both sides. A lot of humans don't like vampires and a lot of (older) vampires look down on humans. Incidents happen. Overall things are peaceful though.

Since killing humans is frowned upon, vampires feed either on animal blood or legally obtained human blood. Preferably the latter because it tastes better and is healthier for them. Humans can either donate blood or (more commonly) sell it in specialized clinics. It's a very well-paid side gig, though it's also looked down upon by most people. Those who give up their blood this way are often (derogatorily) referred to as 'blood bags'.

Fun side fact: a lot of vampires claim feeding 'from the source' (ie straight from a human as opposed to having to drink packaged blood) is more delicious. Some vampires pay extra for this service and some humans also specifically offer it because being fed on by a vampire can honestly be a pretty pleasant experience. In their bites, vampires can inject a sort of sedative that causes something resembling a drug high. It's a feeling described as addictive, even.

Another important fact about vampires in this AU is that they become stronger and need to feed less with age. Vampires are considered fledglings for the first 100 or so years of their existence, a time during which they need to feed every few days and need to adjust to their heightened senses. They haven't unlocked a lot of their abilities yet and are only slightly stronger than the average human. As they grow older they become able to walk in sunlight, unlock things such as thrall and other gifts, become frighteningly strong and resilient, and need to feed less and less. Some ancient vampires only need to feed as little as four times a year - though they could choose to do it more often because they enjoy it.

Onto the actual meat of the AU: 3/4 SBI are vampires. Philza was turned in the early middle ages, Wilbur in the 1700s and Tommy less than 50 years ago (ie he’s a fledgling). Techno is a normal human, a university student who has been selling his blood at a local clinic owned by Niki to earn some extra cash. (While it won’t be relevant until later on in the fic, Ranboo and Tubbo also are vampires in this. Gotta feed that dark!sleepybee hyperfix of mine somehow)

Because they’ve got a fledgling in their coven, Phil and Wilbur have been needing to get their hands on human blood a lot more often than usual. This leads Wilbur to meeting Techno at the clinic and instantly taking a liking to him. Wilbur basically offers Techno a no-strings-attached position to become SBI’s live-in blood bag in exchange for them covering all his expenses (old vampires be rich). Technoblade agrees, assuming it’s a purely business agreement. Which it is except oops looks like they found familied too close to the sun chief.

As I said, I would consider this pretty mild on the dark sbi scale because there’s no kidnapping, manipulation, or similar tropes. (Nothing wrong with fics that do go there, I’ve written them before and will continue to do so. But that’s not the vibe for this fic). It’s more dark fluff if that makes sense? It does include some of those tasty ‘the vampires getting possessive and protective over their human’ tropes because I’m a sucker for that shit man. Also Techno whump, because when don’t I whump that guy.

Not sure when the first chapter will be up, maybe as soon as next week? Before the end of the month for sure :yesyes:

1. I can't wait to see more vampires make appearance! Techno as werewolf is definitely interesting idea! Is sbi family in your au? Cuz maybe I just spend too much time on Ao3 but Wilbur kinda gives off that vampire vibe and that would make an interesting family dynamic.

Also this is random but after that question I was actually thinking about who could be what kind of supernatural and ... now I can't get the picture of fairy Tommy out of my head XD Because yeah someone like Hannah is a obvious choice for fairy but Tommy? Nah. Also there's something funny about everyone experiencing fairy to be all flower and gentle and so on (ofc there are different kinds of fairies but this feels like the most common stereotype) and then there's this loud cursing child that would probably send a feral raccoon after you

Yep the come on babe is something they'd definitely do! The question is ... will Dream give in or is he already used to their puppy eyes? (Obviously he'll give in at one point but how long does he last?

I know this was technically asked before but I don´t think there was any explicit answer sooo ... aside from vampires what other kinds of supernatural creatures are in your AU? And do you have any ideas on which character would be supernatural and what kind they´d be?

So Sapnap and George can be seen in modern mirrors but what about photos? In some stories it´s said that vampires won´t show on photos so now I wonder ... does Dream ever try to take a selfie with these 2 and George and Sapnap are just not there or it´s just their clothes seeming floating around?

I think it was mentioned that after argument or something Dream puts on lot of silver jewelry because vampires hate that. And I´m sorry if this was already answered and I forgot, but how do Sap and Gogy react to this? Also does Dream put on just enough to keep them from biting or does he go overboard putting on ridiculous amount of jewelry just cuz he can and it´s kinda fun walking around the house with enough silver on him that these 2 assholes don´t even dare to come close? They´d be on the opposite end of the room shooting him very wary glances and just "come on babe, we´re sorry" (I also can´t get the picture of Dream holding eyes contact with them while putting on jet another silver necklace in passive aggressive manner)

Do Sapnap and George ever kinda ... stalk Dream around? Like following him to school etc. even if he doesn´t really want them to?

the au is gonna be centered around the vampires. I know I promised it half a year ago at this point but I do want to introduce other vampires that snf are friends with (cough cough they're from the munchymc crew). honestly I didn't put much thought into other supernaturals? the only one that I am 100% sure of is that Techno is a werewolf (or a wereboar. let me indulge). as of the others I think it would be nice to include fairies, as you can guess it'd be Tina, Sylvee and/or Hannah, but I don't really know what I'd do with them in the AU, so this is more of just a loose idea than a promise

that's an interesting question! I didn't think about it before, but it's probably because silver (or more specifically, silver bromide/AgBr) was used in photography back in the day. given that the images are processed digitally nowadays, they would not have this problem, though the image of that is really funny. (and, to be entirely honest right now, the selfie of them that I drew was supposed to be a window reflection. if you've taken one of those two-storey trains they make for amazing 'mirror selfie' places)

I should genuinely draw that :D it doesn't repel them Entirely, they can still approach him, but they try to avoid touching anywhere near the silver. which sucks for them because Dream loves his silver rings and chains. but the 'babe. babe no y do u do this to us we're sorry' is very much a thing :D the silver is a very clear sign to back off though, so they'd keep some distance. I wonder how much silver would be necessary to keep them at the other end of the room? on a bit of a sidenote, there is one human-vampire couple where the human threatens to get silver lip and tongue piercings whenever his boyfriend gets a little too much
