#and stopped by the (after) life of the party

My family did a nice party with reasonable food and borrowed decorations. None of my friends had anything resembling those tens of thousands of dollar glitzy themed fancy DJ 500 guest extravaganzas. They were usually in a synagogue hall. The guys had a nice sponsored kiddush after shule the week they read from the Torah, maybe a price tag of a couple hundred dollars max. The girls in my community didnt read from the Torah but did have a party that was mostly like an elevated birthday party. The food was more Shabbos food than hot dogs, sometimes catered sometimes homemade. The decorations were a little nicer, one of my friends had a chocolate fountain and that was super fancy. I think one person rented....like a fancy hall you might have a small wedding in? And there were waiters and the food was quite fancy, not michelin star but more like wedding food? And everyone dressed up a little, Shabbos clothes or similar.
The smaller ones had guests limited to close friends and immediate family, larger ones include the synagogue community, parents friends, maybe grandparents friends, some more distant relatives.
And like, I was aware of who had the bigger fancier parties and who had the smaller more intimate parties, and sometimes the intimate ones were a nicer experience, and I dont remember any bitching about whose parents could afford what. I do remember some parents feeling pressure, actually, that I was sideways aware of, yknow when youre on your way out the door and youve already said your goodbyes and them your parent stops to talk to all the other parents for 20 minutes before you leave? And I do remember adults congratulating each other not doing any big blowout nonsense, affirming that its ok to be keeping it very appropriate for the occasion.
Cause it is a big deal, but its not a wedding or idk what else rich people have overblown parties about. Every kid has one. Especially bigger families cant afford to spend a fortune on each kid. It doesnt need to be about showing off. Really its a community event, its about marking ones transition into Jewishly legal adulthood and proper responsibility for oneself, its about marking ones new responsibility and privilege of counting in a minyan and being able to read the Torah and lead services. Its very definitely not nothing. The celebrant is a teenager. All these things are true. Most people do whatever fanciness they can reasonably afford, and for most people that looks nothing like the handful of examples Ive seen in media.
And on the other side, people do gift money, but that doesnt mean every kid walks away with thousands. Its traditional to gift in multiples of 18 which is the number for life, so maybe you got a lot of $18's and maybe you got more $320's. Cause the other trope Ive seen is "Im loaded with all my bar/bat/bnei mitzvah money". Imho I got a decent amount for how I old I was, my parents allocated some I was allowed to spend and the rest I had to save, which I genuinely appreciate. I know some people got a lot more and some got a lot less. Its super variable. I think some peoples parents took the money to pay for the party and like, groceries, because that was their financial situation, which imo is unfair to the kid, but if its that or not eating I also understand the parents decision.
Point being, most people arent fabulously wealthy and many are actually quite poor. People do what they can within their means. It varies a lot. Id love to see more Jewish rep that isnt wealthy new yorkers and $20k bar mitzvahs.
I'm just gonna say something, Bar/Bat/B'nai mitzvahs are a celebration, they often but not always come with an after party and depending on the means of the parents of the lucky 13 year old they can be over the top sometimes. Much like rich kids with sweet 16s or Quinceañera.
okay thats out of the way, what I wanted to say is, I'm SICK of every media depiction of a Bar/Bat Mitzvah as a 100 million dollar, biggest party on the planet celebration of conspicuous consumption. Almost ALWAYS missing the you know Bar Mitzvah itself, and again depicting Jews over and over again as INSANELY wealthy. Like not everyone, hell not MOST people's Bar Mitzvah was huge and expensive.
another thing, I know by definition no 13 year old is cool, by definition they are greasy and annoying and cringe. But EVERY depiction of a Bar/Bat Mitzvah where the boy or girl of the hour is both an awkward loser and (particularly the boys) sleazy little creeps who are trying WAY too hard to impressive with their garishly massive (and expensive) party (and how often they quote how much something costs as if a 13 year old would know or care) it just seem a little close to the old antisemitic stereotype of Jews as crass and uncouth social climbers desperately trying to use their money to buy their way into classy society and forever failing.

There’s a strange feeling in the air tonight— dense, electric, charged with the kind of energy that makes your skin prickle and your pulse quicken without reason. The kind of feeling that only comes before things change. Before a shift so subtle, so inevitable, you don’t see it coming until it swallowed you whole.
Maybe it’s fate sharpening its teeth. Maybe it’s destiny rewriting itself in real time. Or maybe it’s just the way the universe works, pulling you towards something, towards someone, whether you’re ready or not.
You don’t know it yet, but the world you know —the one you’ve mastered, the one that bends to your will— will start slipping through your fingers. The lines you swore you’d never cross will blur into nothing. Not all at once. Just enough to make you wonder if losing it might be the best thing that ever happened to you.
Or the worst.
Either way, by the morning, nothing will ever be the same.
・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
The limousine glides to a stop at the curb, the low purr of the engine nearly drowned out by the deep bass thrumming from behind the club’s velvet-roped entrance. Outside, the city glows. Neon signs flickering against the blacked-out windows, paparazzi cameras flashing like tiny detonations in the dark.
Your dress is custom—something sleek but bright enough to catch the low, moody lights of the club. A perfect deep shade of red, sculpted to hug every curve, paired with heels so high they should be illegal. Your stylist had insisted on the look, calling it “effortlessly sexy”.
But as you step out of the car, the cool night air brushing against your bare shoulders, the silk brushing against your legs, it feels more like armor than fashion.
Your heels click against the pavement. Diamond-studded earrings catch the flashing lights as your name spills from the lips of paparazzi, murmured like a prayer behind metal barricades. Security holds them back, but their cameras? Their cameras never miss.
You inhale deeply, forcing a smile as your friend Olivia loops her arm through yours, her perfume sweet and familiar as she leans in, voice smooth with amusement.
“Ready to have some fun?”
You nod, but the truth settles low in your stomach.
You don’t know what you’re looking for tonight. A distraction, maybe. A release. Something to remind you that your life is more than a series of curated, picture-perfect moments. More than something to be consumed.
The doorman doesn’t even glance at the list before letting you both in. Past the crowd, past the rules. Straight into the kind of luxury most people only dream about.
Inside, the club is a different world—bathed in gold light, dripping in excess. Crystal chandeliers hang from vaulted ceilings, their reflections fractured in the glassy surfaces of designer champagne flutes. The air is thick with an intoxicating haze of perfume and liquor and the music is a hypnotic heartbeat, moving through bodies like an electric current.
A server appears before you even have to ask, pressing a drink into your hand. It’s cold against your lips, smooth and sweet with just enough of a bite to remind you that it’s expensive. You let it linger on your tongue, relishing the way the warmth spreads through your chest.
Everyone’s looking at you. You can feel it. The stolen glances, the whispers behind manicured hands, the way conversations pause when you walk by. The attention used to unnerve you.
It still does.
But you slip into the role effortlessly. Chin high, lips curved in just the right amount of detached amusement, the slit of your dress parting just enough to tease, the subtle sway of your hips deliberate.
You don’t stop to acknowledge anyone, but you already saw lots of recognizable faces. Eyes track your every move. They want to talk, to be close, to claim even a second of your attention.
You let Olivia lead you through the pulsing crowd, past velvet ropes and watchful bouncers, into the VIP section—where the real power plays out. The air here is heavier, thick with the kind of confidence that only comes with knowing you belong.
Not even half an hour passes before she nudges you, her perfectly manicured fingers gripping your arm as she tips her head towards a booth across the room.
“Oh, shit,” she murmurs, her eyes flickering with amusement, with something else. Intrigue. Mischief. “Isn’t that the girl from The Fireflies?”
You take a slow sip of your drink, pretending to be unaffected—heavy on the pretending.
“Really? Ellie Williams?”
“Yeah” Olivia exhales, shaking her head, lips curling into a smirk. “Goddamn, she’s hot as fuck.”
Something shifts. A charged pause. The air seems thicker, humming with something you can’t quite name.
You tilt your head, finally allowing yourself to glance over.
And there she is.
And yeah—she’s indeed hot as fuck.
Ellie is sprawled across the leather booth like she owns it—like the whole damn club bends to her presence. The black fabric of her shirt hangs loose on her frame, the top few buttons undone, teasing just enough of the freckled skin of her chest to be unfair. The sleeves are pushed up, exposing tattoos that wind down her forearms, ink bold against pale skin. Silver rings glint on her fingers as she idly swirls the whiskey in her glass, watching the amber liquid catch the dim light.
She’s not alone—the rest of The Fireflies are scattered around her. Dina is perched on the armrest beside her, scrolling through her phone, half-listening to whatever Jesse is saying, who’s deep in conversation with someone you don’t recognize. But Ellie? She’s elsewhere. Detached. Letting the whiskey burn slow in her throat as the bass-heavy music thrums through the club. Until she looks up.
Until her gaze collides with yours.
And then—when she realizes who she’s looking at—something shifts.
She doesn’t look away. Doesn’t break first. Instead, she keeps staring—not in a fleeting, casual way. She’s studying you. Sizing you up. The smirk tugging at her lips is slow, knowing.
Like she’s been expecting you. Like she’s been waiting for this moment.
Like she knew you’d both end up here eventually.
Your fingers tighten around your drink as you exhale, pulse thrumming against your skin.
Ellie takes a lazy drag of her whiskey. In one slow, deliberate movement, she spreads her legs a little wider, drapes an arm across the back of the booth, and raises an eyebrow.
The tension between you stretches—thin as wire, hot as an exposed filament—buzzing as the glances keep coming. Stolen, lingering, and never accidental.
You shift in your seat, crossing your legs. You’re playing it cool, but the thrum of adrenaline in your veins says otherwise. You can feel her eyes on you even when you look away, even when Olivia keeps talking in your ear, words blurring into the low hum of music and conversation.
And then, she grabs your wrist. “Come on,” she urges, eyes glinting with mischief. “We didn’t come here to sit around.”
You let her pull you onto the dance floor, slipping into the current of bodies that move around you, the music curling around you like smoke. You move easily, letting the rhythm sink into your bones, letting the world blur.
But you keep looking back.
And Ellie—Ellie is still staring.
Her gaze is heavy-lidded, dim light catching in green irises, turning them darker. She lifts her glass to her lips again, slowly, whiskey kissing her mouth as she watches you move.
She looks like she’s enjoying the show.
So you give her one.
You dance, letting the music drown out everything else—the flashing lights, the faceless bodies. The bass thrums through your bones, heartbeat syncing to the rhythm, but no matter how lost you let yourself get, you can still feel her.
Ellie hasn’t moved. Not yet. But her presence is suffocating, pressing into you from across the room. She’s relaxed—almost too relaxed. Like she’s pretending this isn’t affecting her.
But the way her jaw shifts slightly, the way her grip tightens for half a second before she hides it behind another sip?
Yeah. It’s affecting her.
So you push it further.
You let your movements get a little slower, a little more deliberate. Your dress clings in all the right places, the dim lights casting shadows over your skin, and when you open your eyes again, you catch the exact moment Ellie loses her composure.
It’s the way her tongue swipes across her bottom lip. The way her fingers drum against the table, restless, like she’s debating something.
The way she exhales sharply, sets her glass down, and finally moves.
She stands, pushing off the booth with that same lazy confidence, but there’s a new sharpness to it now, a purpose. She murmurs something to Dina, who only smirks, flicks a glance at you, then waves her off.
She doesn’t rush. Doesn’t weave through the crowd—she cuts through it, a slow, steady force, people shifting around her without a second thought.
"Alright, superstar" Olivia drawls, her grin nothing short of wicked as she catches your eye. "I’ll leave you to your… situation."
You barely get a chance to react before she downs the rest of her drink, runs a slow hand down the fabric of her dress, and locks onto a guy leaning against the bar—tall, sharp-jawed, the kind she loves to toy with.
"Oh, I see..." you murmur, arching a brow as you watch her shift her weight onto one foot, feigning nonchalance, even though you know better. "Text me later—if you even remember how to type by then."
Olivia leans in, pressing a quick, sticky-sweet kiss to your cheek, her perfume blooming warm against your skin.
"Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do" she purrs, voice light, eyes glinting.
Then she’s gone, slipping into the crowd, leaving only the faintest trace of laughter in her wake.
And just like that, you’re alone.
Well—not exactly.
You feel her before you even see her.
The shift in the air. The weight of a gaze. The way the energy of the room tilts—like gravity itself is bending towards her, like she commands the space around her without ever needing to claim it.
Your pulse stumbles.
Ellie moves like she knows she belongs wherever she stands. She doesn’t even have to touch you; just her presence alone is enough to sink beneath your skin, coil around your ribs, settle deep in your stomach.
Her scent—smoke, leather, and the sharp bite of her cologne—wraps around you as she leans in, voice dropping low, teasing.
"You always put on a show like that, or was that just for me?"
Her breath ghosts along your cheek, close enough to taste the warmth of whiskey lingering on her lips.
You don’t answer right away. You let it sit, let the tension pull tight between you. A slow inhale, the ghost of a smirk playing at your lips as you rake a hand through your hair, finally turning to meet her.
And fuck.
Up close, Ellie is lethal. The kind of beautiful that feels like a setup, like a loaded gun placed in trembling hands. Her green eyes gleam, sharp and unreadable. Her gaze flicks down to your tits for half a second, barely noticeable—but you notice.
“That depends.” you murmur, voice smooth, honeyed. “Did you like the show?”
Ellie huffs a quiet laugh, tongue pressing against the inside of her cheek, and shit that does something to you. She leans just enough for the space between you to practically vanish, the heat of her breath against your skin.
“I don’t think like is the right word”
Oh.
The music pounds around you, but it’s background noise now—distant, unimportant. Because all you care about is the rush of your own heartbeat, the scrape of Ellie’s voice, and the way she’s watching you like she’s already got her next move planned.
You raise a brow, letting your fingers trace the rim of your glass before taking a slow sip. “Oh yeah?”
Ellie’s gaze drops to your mouth. She smirks. That same lazy, knowing smirk from across the room, only now it’s worse. Now it’s right there.
“Yeah,” she says, voice edged with amusement, with challenge. “I think I need a closer look.”
Your stomach tightens.
You tilt your head, pretending to consider. “Mmm. I don’t know. You seemed pretty comfortable back there.”
“I was,” she admits, eyes gleaming. “But you were distracting.”
“Distracting?”
She muses, lips twitching. “It's hard to focus on anything else when you’re in the room.”
Jesus Christ.
You should say something witty, something smooth, but it seems that your mind is short-circuiting and working against you. So you settle for something else that doesn’t require snarky comebacks.
You don’t break eye contact as you set your drink down and reach for her whiskey glass, plucking it from her fingers like it belongs to you.
Slowly, you bring it to your lips, tilting your head back to take a sip. The burn of the whiskey is immediate, rich and smoky, but you barely register it. Because all you can focus on is Ellie watching you—watching your mouth, your throat, the way your fingers wrap around her glass.
“It’s good.” You murmur, licking a stray drop off your bottom lip before offering it back.
Ellie takes it without a word. Her fingers brush against yours—just for a second, just long enough to feel deliberate. Then she drinks, lips meeting the same spot yours just touched. Indirect kiss.
Ellie doesn’t react, not outright. She just watches you over the rim of the glass, half-lidded, unreadable, before swallowing the last sip. She nods toward the backs of the bar, where the booths are tucked away in the dim neon haze, shadows swallowing the edges of the room.
“C’mon.” Her voice is low, sure. “Let’s go somewhere quieter.”
It’s not a question.
You should hesitate. You should throw something sharp her way, something teasing, a push to match her pull. But you don’t.
Not when the warmth of her touch still lingers against your skin.
So you just follow.
After grabbing fresh drinks, you slide into the booth, expecting Ellie to take the seat across from you. But she doesn’t. Instead, she slips in right beside you, close. Casual, unhurried, like it’s the most natural thing in the world.
Her thigh presses against yours, warm through the fabric of her jeans. A smirk tugs at the corner of her mouth as she leans back against the worn leather seat, one arm draped lazily over the backrest, fingers just barely grazing your shoulder.
She takes a slow sip of her drink, the ice shifting with the movement, her other hand resting on her thigh—dangerously close. Close enough that if you shifted even a little, if you so much as exhaled in the wrong direction, her fingers would graze your skin.
You take a sip of your own drink, matching her energy, leaning back just enough that your shoulder presses against her arm, your movements measured.
“You comfortable?” she muses, voice dipping low.
“Yeah,” you turn your head as you answer smoothly “Are you?”
Ellie chuckles, shaking her head, her eyes flicking over your face like she’s figuring out a puzzle she already knows the answer to.
“Oh, I’m real comfortable.”
She tilts her glass, ice clinking, watching as you drag your fingers along the condensation on yours.
“So…” you hum, drawing out the word and trying to chat a little “What’s next for the great Ellie Williams?”
Ellie exhales, tilting her head back against the booth.
“Studio time. Late nights. Same shit, different album.”
You nod, taking a sip. “Bet it’s gonna be good.”
Ellie raises an eyebrow. “Yeah? You a fan?”
You lift a shoulder in a shrug, playful. “Maybe. Or maybe I just said that to be nice.”
Ellie scoffs, shaking her head. “Bullshit.”
You laugh, looking at her over the rim of your glass. She studies you for a second, eyes sharp and knowing, then leans in, her voice taking on a teasing lilt.
“What about you, pop princess? More shows? Another album?” she quips. “...maybe a fake PR relationship?”
You roll your eyes, but you’re smiling.
“I don’t do those.”
Ellie gives you a look—unconvinced. “Sure.”
A beat of silence, thick with something unspoken.
If only you both knew
Then, her hand moves lower, fingertips grazing the bare skin of your shoulder. The touch is featherlight, almost absentminded, but you know better. Her other hand slides down slowly until her palm settles on your thigh, just above your knee. You feel the warmth of it through your skin, a quiet claim. Almost possessive.
She’s testing you. Seeing if you’ll pull away.
And you don’t.
“You nervous?” she murmurs, feeling as goosebumps raise in the skin she's touching.
You exhale, meeting her gaze with a challenge. “Not even a little.”
Ellie hums like she doesn’t believe you. Her fingers tighten just slightly against your thigh, pressing firmer, the weight of them making heat coil even lower in your stomach.
“Then finish your drink.”
Your brow lifts, matching her grin. “Why?”
She tilts her head, green eyes dark, half-lidded, unreadable.
“’Cause we’re getting out of here.”
Jesus. Fucking. Christ.
You know exactly where this is going.
So you knock back the rest of your drink in one smooth motion, the warmth of the alcohol sliding down your throat, mingling with the heat pooling low in your stomach. The sensation is almost dizzying, but not as much as the way Ellie hungrily watches you.
Her fingers remain on your thigh, unmoving except for the lazy brush of her thumb against your skin. A barely-there touch, but still there. When you set the glass down with a soft clink, Ellie smirks.
"Good girl."
Your stomach tightens, but you keep your expression composed, refusing to give her the reaction she wants. Instead, you lean into her touch, letting your thigh press more firmly against her hand.
And then, just as effortlessly as she slid into the booth beside you, she moves again—standing, slipping out of the seat with an easy grace. Without hesitation, she reaches into her pocket, tosses a couple of bills onto the table, and tilts her head towards the exit.
“My hotel isn’t far.”
Your lips curve, eyes glinting with something playful, but you don’t stand up. Not yet. “Are you always this forward?”
Ellie chuckles, slipping her hands into her pockets, her smirk deepening. “Only when I know what I want.”
You hum, gaze flicking between her lips and her eyes, drawn in by the way she looks at you—steady, unshaken, expectant.
“And what is it that you want?”
Ellie doesn’t hesitate or waver. Her gaze drags over your face, then lower, sweeping over every inch of your body. That look alone answers every question you could possibly have.
She’s eye-fucking you.
“I think you already know.”
Her voice feels like a dare wrapped in velvet.
She shifts just slightly to let her fingers brush against yours—not quite holding, not quite taking, just enough to make you shiver. To remind you that you’re the one who has to make the next move.
“Last chance, pop star.” Her thumb grazes the inside of your wrist. “You coming or not?
No time to blame the alcohol, the music, her, or even yourself. None of it matters. Not when she’s this close. Not when you’ve already decided—fuck everything.
You don't answer her with words.
Instead, you let your fingers slip fully into hers, a silent answer in the way you squeeze her hand. With unhurried confidence, you rise to your feet, stepping in close, letting her feel the warmth of your body against hers.
Ellie watches you, her smirk deepening, her grip tightening ever so slightly, like she’s making sure you’re real. And then, without another word, she turns, leading you towards the exit, her pace steady, certain— she already knows exactly how this night is going to end.
・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
The elevator ride is painfully slow.
Ellie leans against the mirrored wall, the yellow glow of the overhead lights casting soft shadows along her sharp jawline. You can feel the heat of her gaze, the weight of it pressing against your skin.
“So…” she drawls, tapping a slow rhythm against her thigh. “Have you ever done this before?”
You arch a brow. “Been in an elevator?”
Ellie huffs a quiet laugh, shaking her head. “No, smartass. Snuck away in the middle of the night with someone you barely know.”
You hum, pretending to think as you glance at her from beneath your lashes. “Depends” you say. “Do you count as someone I barely know?”
Ellie exhales sharply, something between a laugh and a scoff as she steps closer until there’s barely a breath of space between you.
“You think you’re funny,” she murmurs, voice just above a whisper.
Your pulse thrums. “I know I am.”
She studies you for a moment, head tilted, before her lips twitch into something smug. “Alright then” she muses, tilting her chin towards the soft ding of the elevator reaching the highest floor.
“Let’s see if you’re still funny in a minute.”
You step inside, your heels clicking softly against the marble, the sound swallowed by the sheer vastness of the room. Ellie follows, closing the door behind you with a quiet click.
The Four Seasons suite is nothing short of breathtaking—the kind of luxury that feels effortless, curated. The living area is sprawling, tastefully minimal, yet undeniably expensive, all clean lines and plush textures. Beyond the floor-to-ceiling windows, the city stretches out in a sea of glittering lights, skyscrapers piercing the night sky.
The air is cool and heavy, carrying the faint scent of cedarwood, perfume, whiskey, and something distinctively her. A half-finished whiskey bottle and an ashtray filled with cigarette butts sit on the bar. In the adjoining room, a decadent king-sized bed stands with its pristine sheets rumpled, as if she left in a hurry.
She doesn’t move right away. She just watches you, standing a few steps away, hands in her pockets. She’s giving you a moment to take it all in, to change your mind.
"You sure ‘bout this?" she murmurs, voice lower now, more serious. Less teasing.
Your lips curve, slow and certain. “I wouldn’t be here if I wasn’t.”
Ellie exhales a quiet chuckle, running a hand through her auburn mullet before stepping closer. The room feels smaller now, the space between you dissolving into nothing.
“Yeah” she mutters, gaze flickering to your lips. “Didn’t think so.”
And she kisses you.
It’s not gentle. It’s not soft. It’s filled with longing, of knowing about each other without ever really knowing each other, of stolen glances, headlines and rumors that led to this. Her lips are warm, slightly rough from cigarettes and the way she’s been smirking all night.
You match her, hands finding the front of her black shirt, gripping the expensive fabric between your fingers, pulling her closer. Ellie groans against your mouth, low and amused, like she knew you’d be like this— she was just waiting for you to prove it.
She backs you up slowly, guiding without breaking contact, until the backs of your knees hit the edge of the bed. You sink down, breathless, heart hammering, and Ellie follows, bracing herself over you, one knee between your legs, hands settling on either side of you.
Her hands roam, slow but sure, like she’s mapping you out, memorizing every inch of you beneath her fingertips. The room hums with the soft sound of your breaths, the distant city noise barely audible past the pounding in your ears.
Her lips trail from your mouth to your jaw, down the column of your throat. A quiet exhale escapes you when her teeth graze your pulse point, and she smirks against your skin like she’s won something.
Ellie moves with purpose, like she’s savoring every little reaction you give her. The way your breath stutters when her lips graze just below your jaw, the way your fingers clutch at her shirt, pulling her closer, needing more.
The air between you is electric, charged with something you are too far gone to name, but definitely heavy. Her hands press against your sides, fingers flexing like she’s grounding herself, like she needs to remind herself to take her time, try to draw this out.
But then you move—tilting your chin, brushing your lips against her pulse point—and Ellie falters, just for a second. A sharp inhale, a quiet curse under her breath.
She’s kisses you again, deeper this time, more urgent. And you know something inside her has finally snapped.
Her hands grip at your waist, fingers digging in just enough to send a thrill up your spine. Her weight presses against you, firm, unyielding, and you arch into it, meeting her halfway. There’s no space left between you now, just heat, friction and the dizzying sensation of losing yourself in her.
She pulls back just slightly, just enough to look at you, to study your face in the dim light. Her thumb brushes over your cheek, softer than before, more careful. Her pupils are blown wide, her breathing uneven.
And then—just when you think you have her figured out—she shifts, her breath hot against your ear, pressing her knee harder between your thighs.
“Tell me, princess” she murmurs, voice dipped in something dangerously close to amusement. “Still playing the part?”
It would be so easy to keep up the game, to smirk and tell her that she’s the one who’s falling for it. But Ellie’s knee moves again—just enough to steal the thought right out of your head—and you let out a soft gasp instead of answering.
Your fingers tighten in her hair, and she groans low in her throat, the sound vibrating through you. It’s heady, dizzying, the way she knows exactly what she’s doing, exactly how to unravel you.
“That's what I thought…”
Her fingers finally find the zipper at the curve of your spine, slow and deliberate, the ghost of a touch sending shivers down your skin. She pauses, eyes flicking up to yours, searching, waiting for your approval.
“Yes, please,” you breathe, barely above a whisper—soft, wanting.
You didn’t mean for it to sound that desperate, but God, you are.
Ellie’s smirk deepens into something downright wicked, her eyes dark with satisfaction. “Fuck…” she mutters, mostly to herself, like she wasn’t expecting you to sound like that, and she wants to hear it again.
Then—slow, torturously slow—she tugs the zipper down, the sound of it impossibly loud in the quiet space between you. The dress pools at your waist before slipping further, guided by her hands, like she’s unwrapping something precious.
And when it finally falls away, leaving you bare save for the delicate lace of your black panties, Ellie exhales a quiet curse, eyes raking over you like she wants to commit every inch of you to memory.
She can’t quite believe you’re real. But you are. And you are here, beneath her, almost naked and looking up at her like this. Her hands skim up your sides, fingers splaying over your ribs, dragging heat in their wake. There’s something almost reverent in the way she touches you, like she’s been waiting for this longer than she’d ever admit.
“You are even better than I imagined,” she murmurs, voice thick, dark and dizzying. Her gaze flickers back up to yours, and the corner of her mouth tugs into a knowing smirk. “And trust me, gorgeous—I imagined a lot.”
It’s like she’s learning, memorizing. And it’s because she is. This is a moment she wants burned into her mind, something she won’t let fade when the night is over.
“You’re still dressed…” you murmur, running your hands up the fabric of her shirt, fingers tracing over the smooth, expensive material.
Ellie smirks, tilting her head slightly. “Wanna fix that?” Her voice is teasing as she leans in, pressing a peck to your lips, barely pulling away before adding, “Be my guest.”
You don’t need to be told twice. Your fingers move to the buttons of her shirt, starting slowly at first, savoring the way the fabric parts beneath your touch, revealing inch by inch of her skin. But patience has never been your strong suit, and before you know it, your fingers are working faster, making quick work of the last few buttons.
Ellie chuckles softly at your eagerness, shrugging the shirt off her shoulders and letting it fall to the floor without a second thought.
Your breath catches, taking her in—her toned arms, her freckled chest, her abs, the ink sprawled across her skin, the way the dim lighting casts shadows over every sharp edge of her body.
She raises an eyebrow, clearly enjoying the way you’re looking at her. “Like what you see?”
You swallow, lips curving into something between a smirk and something much softer. “Yeah,” you admit, voice quieter, breathless. “I really do.”
She smirks, all too proud of herself, before lowering her mouth to your body, lips trailing hot, open-mouthed kisses down your chest. Each press of her mouth sets your skin on fire as she moves lower, finally reaching your breasts.
Her tongue flicks over a hardened nipple before her lips close around it, sucking just enough to send a sharp jolt of pleasure straight to your core. Her other hand moves to your other breast, fingers squeezing, kneading, rolling your sensitive bud between her fingertips with a precision that makes your breath hitch.
A moan escapes you before you can stop it and Ellie groans low in her throat, the sound vibrating against your skin. She knows exactly what she’s doing, her movements natural, fluid.
You know she has done this more than a hundred times—but right now, with the way she’s touching you, kissing you, looking at you—it feels like you’re the only one.
And the worst part? She’s barely even started.
“You’re unreal,” she mutters against your skin, voice thick with something reverent, almost amazed. “You sure you’re not the one playing me?”
Your breath catches, a slow smirk forming even as your body betrays you, pressing closer, craving more. “Maybe,” you tease, voice barely above a whisper. “Or maybe I just like watching you lose control.”
Ellie exhales a quiet laugh, but there’s something darker in her eyes now—something wild, untamed. She leans in, lips ghosting over your jaw, your throat, before settling just below your ear.
“Then I guess we’re both in trouble.”
Ellie’s fingers trail lower as she reaches the waistband of your panties. With a slow smirk, she hooks her fingers into the lace and tugs them down, the fabric slipping over your thighs in one smooth motion. The cool air kisses your heated core, and she exhales sharply, her gaze flickering downward—taking you in, almost ridiculously soaked for her. Just for her.
“Damn…” she murmurs, voice thick with something between amusement and hunger. “Look at you.”
“Fuck, Ellie...” Heat rushes to your face, her fingers ghost over your thigh. She’s barely touching you, barely doing anything at all, and yet—your body is already responding, arching subtly towards her, silently asking for more.
Ellie chuckles, low and knowing. “You’re so easy to read.” She leans in, lips grazing your jaw, her fingers still dancing just at the edge of your glistening pussy. “And so, so needy.”
Her words send a shiver down your spine, and when she finally moves—finally gives in to what you both want—you can’t stop the breathy moan that slips from your lips.
Ellie grins against your skin, pleased. “That’s more like it, baby. Keep moaning for me like that.”
Her fingers move like pure sin, circling your clit with practiced ease, each motion precise, calculated. Designed to ruin you, untame you. Your moans spill out freely, and you can feel her eyes on you, dark and burning, primal.
The sight of you like this—bare, undone, completely at her mercy—makes something in her tighten, makes her want to see just how far she can push you.
So she doesn’t give you a second to prepare. One moment, she’s watching you with that signature smirk, and the next—her mouth is on you, tongue sliding through your folds like she’s been starving for this.
“Oh god! Ellie!” You choke on a gasp, hands flying to the sheets, twisting them between your fingers as her tongue works against you.
Ellie eats you out the same way she plays her guitar—expertly, effortlessly, like she was made for this. Every flick of her tongue is deliberate, every slow drag filled with a deep, unrelenting intensity, she’s savoring you, she wants to make a masterpiece out of your pleasure.
“So sweet…” Ellie groans against your cunt, the sound sending vibrations that make your whole body jolt. Fuck, she thinks, feeling the way your thighs twitch, the way your breath stutters, how quickly you fall apart for her. It’s addictive.
She pulls back just enough to spit on your pussy, watching the way your hole clenches around nothing. A quiet chuckle rumbles in her chest, fingers dragging lazily up your slit, collecting everything you’re giving her.
“You’re fuckin’ messy, babe." She murmurs, half in awe, half just to tease.
Before you can even think to respond, her tongue is on you again, dragging slow and deliberate licks over your swollen clit while two fingers ease their way inside, stretching you open.
You inhale sharply, your thighs instinctively trying to snap shut around her, but Ellie is quick, her free hand pressing against your hip, keeping you right where she wants you.
She curls her fingers just right, feeling the way your walls flutter around them. She watches you from beneath heavy lids, drinking in the way your head tilts back, lips parting, how every needy sound you make is just for her.
Her lips curve against your heat before she bites down on your clit softly—just enough to make your breath hitch, your fingers tighten in her hair. Her fingers move in tandem, thrusting slow but deep, curling just right against your spongy spot to make pleasure coil tighter and tighter inside you.
You can’t even form words, only breathy, broken sounds slipping past your lips. Your body moves on instinct, rolling against her mouth, chasing that high she’s so effortlessly pulling you towards. Ellie groans at the way you react to her, the vibrations sending a new wave of heat spiraling through you.
“Takin’ it so perfectly, princess,” she muses, her voice rough with satisfaction. One hand smooths along your thigh, grounding, teasing, keeping you exactly where she wants you. The slick, obscene sounds of her fingers and mouth working on you grow louder, matching the frantic pace of your pulse.
You’re so close, you can feel it—electric, unbearable, curling low. Like a thread waiting to snap.
“I—hah!—Ellie, I’m gonna—” Your voice breaks as pleasure crashes over you, white-hot and dizzying. Your body tightens, trembles, pleasure snapping through every nerve as you cry out, gripping onto her like she’s the only thing anchoring you.
Ellie doesn’t pull away immediately, working you through it, her mouth still lazily exploring, drawing out every last aftershock until your thighs are trembling around her. Only then does she ease back, slow and deliberate, her fingers slipping from you with a quiet, wet sound.
You barely have time to catch your breath before she lifts them to her lips, her eyes locking onto yours, utterly shameless. She slides them past her lips, sucking them clean with a satisfied hum.
“Too good to waste” she mutters, the rasp in her voice making heat flicker in your belly all over again.
You watch her with a dazed expression, your mind still lost in the aftershocks, chest rising and falling as you try to remember how to breathe.
This is almost too good to be true.
And thank God it is.
Ellie watches you with half-lidded eyes, her breath heavy, chest rising and falling as she takes in the sight of you—disheveled, skin glistening, lips parted as you gasp for air. She knows she’s wrecked you, and fuck, she loves it. Loves the way you look at her, like she’s the only thing that exists in the world right now.
“Shit babe, you soaked the bed…” she murmurs, a teasing smirk tugging at her lips as she drags her fingers up your trembling thighs. “Do I turn you on that badly?”
Your head barely nods, your body still buzzing, heat pooling in your stomach again even though you haven’t fully come down. “Mhmm.”
Ellie huffs out a quiet chuckle, pressing her lips against the inside of your knee before pulling back just enough to unbuckle her belt. Your breath hitches as she unfastens it, sliding her jeans and grey boxers down her hips, revealing the deep purple strap nestled between her thighs.
And It’s almost unfair how good she looks like this. Shirt unbuttoned, muscles flexing as she strokes the length of the toy once, watching you with amused eyes.
And let's just say, you are shocked.
How the hell did you not notice it before? It’s thick, long, and attached to a harness that presses snugly against her lower abdomen—bigger than anything you’ve ever taken.
Your gaze flickers between her face and the toy, your thighs pressing together involuntarily. Ellie notices, her smirk widening. “Something wrong, baby?”
You swallow, your voice coming out weaker than you want it to. “N-no.”
Your breath stutters, eyes widening. “Nervous, pretty girl?” Ellie quirks a brow. She clicks something at the base of the strap, and suddenly, a sound vibrates with a low hum.
You shake your head, but the anticipation, the way your legs shift, betrays you. Ellie just smirks, gripping your knee and spreading you open.
“It’s okay” she says, and for a moment, her voice is softer “You can always tell me if it’s too much.”
A thread of something unspoken lingers between you, but then she’s pressing the tip against your soaked entrance, teasing, watching your breath hitch, and any softness vanishes into something much darker.
She pushes in—slow, stretching you inch by inch, letting you feel every single second of it.
You let out a sharp cry, your fingers flying up to grasp at her shoulders, nails digging in. Ellie groans at the sight, her pupils blown wide, her fingers flexing against your thigh as she stills for just a second, letting you adjust. “Shit…” she rasps, voice thick. “Taking me so fucking well.”
Your walls flutter around the length, the feeling making your whole body shudder. “F-fuck…” you whimper, the sound breathy, desperate.
Ellie grips your face with one hand, tilting your chin up so you have no choice but to look at her. “Tell me how it feels.” she demands, her thumb brushing over your parted lips.
“Good—so fucking good—Ells…” you gasp, your voice breaking as she bottoms up, letting you feel the thickness of the toy against your walls. Then, she shifts, gripping your hips tighter, pulling you flush against her as she sinks deeper, her thrusts picking up pace.
“Yeah?” Ellie breathes, watching the way your body trembles beneath her. “Gonna fuck you so good you won’t be able to think straight,”
Your head tilts back and your eyes dart shut as you moan, pleasure sparking through you like wildfire, but Ellie isn’t having that. “No.” she grits, leaning down, her breath hot against your ear. “Look at me.”
She grips your jaw, tilting your face back toward her, her lips just inches from yours.
“I want you to look at me fucking you.”
The way she says it—so raw, so commanding—has you clenching around her, has your legs shaking as she fucks you harder, deeper, hitting that spongy spot inside you that makes your mind blank.
Your eyes flutter open, and what you see nearly ruins you. Ellie, flushed and wrecked with desire, watching you fall apart beneath her, completely at her mercy.
Her smirk returns, slow and knowing. “That’s my girl.”
“F-fuck, right there—Ellie, please!” you babble, your voice breaking as she adjusts the angle, pressing your knee up to your chest so she can sink in even deeper and hit that spot that makes you fall apart. Your fingers claw at her back, clinging to her as if letting go would shatter you completely.
Ellie groans, sweat slicking her forehead, the vibrations from the toy sending shocks of pleasure through her own body. She’s close, she knows it, but she wants you there first. Needs to see you unravel beneath her, to make you tighten around her.
Your moans turn into choked sobs of pleasure, your body going rigid as the coil inside you snaps. “I—shitt—I’m gonna—!”
And then it happens. Your back arches, your legs shaking uncontrollably as your orgasm crashes through you, your vision going white. The sheer intensity of it rips a cry from your throat, your nails digging deeper into her back as your body spasms.
“Jesus fucking christ…” Ellie curses, watching the way your release splashes everywhere, coating her toy, dripping down between your thighs and her lower abdomen. “Did you just—fuckk—did you just squirt?”
And just like that, with one last deep thrust, she shudders, her own orgasm overtaking her as the toy grinds against her in just the right way. “Oh god, I—”
Her muscles go taut, her forehead dropping against your shoulder as her breath leaves her in a sharp exhale. She rides it out, her body trembling against yours before she finally stills, catching her breath.
She’s careful as she pulls out, the slick sound making both of you shiver. A low whistle leaves her lips as she looks down at the mess between your legs.
You can’t form words, your body still convulsing, overstimulated and spent. Ellie watches you, chest heaving, eyes half-lidded with satisfaction. “Goddamn…” she murmurs, grinning lazily as she flops beside you.
“You really did soak the bed.”
・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
The first thing you notice when you wake up is the smell of coffee.
The second thing you notice is that your body hurts—a deep lingering soreness that reminds you exactly how last night went down. And let’s just say, it was a long night.
You stretch lazily against the sheets, tangled almost beyond saving, blinking against the light filtering through the curtains. The room is a mess, whiskey glasses half-empty on the nightstand, your dress discarded in a careless heap on the floor, the air still heavy with the scent of sex.
The steady hum of the shower echoes from the bathroom. You exhale, running a hand through your hair as you sit up, the sheets slipping down your bare skin covered only by your lace panties. Your fingers find the nearest whiskey glass, bringing it to your lips—only to find it empty.
You huff out a quiet laugh, shaking your head. Of course. Ellie Williams never does leave you anything to sip on but trouble.
And then she walks in.
A towel slung over her shoulders, fresh boxers hanging low on her hips, a white tank top clinging to her still-damp skin. Her auburn short hair, darker from the shower, is pushed back in that frustratingly effortless way.
Your breath catches.
Maybe it’s the afterglow, or maybe it’s just her—but she looks too good. Unfairly good.
Ellie glances at you, grabbing her coffee cup from the table. “Damn, you survived.”
You groan, dragging a hand down your face. “Barely.”
Your body feels wrecked, and you’re painfully aware of exactly why. But there’s no time to dwell on it—your fingers fumble for your phone on the nightstand, and when you check the time, your stomach drops.
Shit. You were supposed to be at the studio an hour ago.
With a sigh, you throw the sheets off and swing over the edge of the bed, standing on shaky legs. Ellie watches, her smirk widening, not even bothering to hide her amusement.
You shoot her a glare. “Shut up.”
“I didn’t say anything.” She leans back against the dresser, legs spread, mug cradled loosely in her hands, eyes dragging over you in that slow, unhurried way. She’s memorizing every mark she left, every inch of bare skin now illuminated by the light. “Just appreciating the aftermath.”
You roll your eyes, but your cheeks warm anyway. Before you can shoot back a response, she tosses something your way—a soft bundle of fabric. You catch it midair, unfolding it. A T-shirt. Hers, obviously.
“This is all I’m getting?” you ask, lifting an eyebrow.
Ellie flops onto the edge of the bed, pulling on her jeans, that fucking smirk never leaving her lips. “What, you want a medal too?”
“No, dumbass. Pants.” You gesture to your mostly bare legs. “Or am I supposed to just strut out of here in nothing but this?”
Ellie hums, head tilting like she’s actually considering it. “I mean… yeah? Could be a serve.”
You glare. “Ellie.”
She grins, taking another slow sip of coffee. "Alright, alright. You can borrow something.”
You huff, pulling her shirt over your head, the fabric soft and smelling like her. “Generous.”
She snickers, getting up to rummage through her bag. A moment later, a pair of jeans lands on your lap. “Don’t say I never did anything for you.”
You unfold them and immediately groan.
“Oh, come on,” you grumble, holding up the jeans.“These are massive. I look like I raided my dad’s closet.”
Ellie, still perched against the dresser, tilts her head, eyes dragging over you in that slow, lazy way that makes your stomach flip. “Nah,” she muses, taking a sip of her coffee. “If you were wearing your dad’s jeans, they wouldn’t make me wanna fuck you all night again.”
Your breath catches—just for a second—before you recover, scoffing as you lob a pillow at her face. She dodges easily, laughing, while you mutter under your breath, pulling the jeans on. They hang ridiculously low on your hips, and you have to roll the waistband several times to make them even somewhat wearable. With a huff, you snatch a belt from the chair, looping it through and cinching it tight.
By the time you’re slipping on your shoes, Ellie is leaning against the doorframe, arms crossed over her chest, her smirk growing by the second. She’s watching you with that barely concealed amusement, like she’s holding back from making some smartass comment.
You narrow your eyes. “What?”
She nods toward your legs, lips twitching. “Nothing,” she says, voice dripping with amusement. “Just… loving the fit.”
You glance down at yourself—the borrowed jeans, the oversized shirt, and all of that paired with heels. The entire disheveled aftermath of last night wrapped up in one ridiculous outfit. It’s not your fault she wears jeans three sizes too big and still manages to look good.
You shoot her a glare, grabbing your phone from the nightstand. “You’re insufferable.”
“And you’re stealing my clothes.” She takes another sip of her coffee, watching you struggle with your belt. “Might as well start charging you rent.”
You roll your eyes and head for the door, but just as you reach the threshold, her voice stops you.
“Hey.”
You glance back over your shoulder, eyebrows raised in silent amusement.
Ellie, standing in the doorway, tilts her head, her lips curling into a playful grin. “Hope to see you around, superstar.”
You return the look, shrugging as you take a step backwards into the hallway. “Don’t hold your breath.”
Ellie chuckles under her breath, shaking her head in mock disbelief.
“Absolute fucking menace”
・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
The air outside bites at your skin as you step out of the hotel, the morning sun glaring too bright for your tired eyes. Your phone buzzes in your hand—a quick reminder that your driver is two minutes away.
You glance down at yourself: your own clothes abandoned somewhere in a hotel room you never bothered to retrieve, and Ellie’s oversized t-shirt draped over your frame, hanging just a little too big, screaming that it isn’t yours. Great.
You roll your shoulders, trying to shake off the ghost of last night’s lingering touch, the memory of her hands gripping your waist, her lips trailing over your skin. You told yourself it was just fun, a wild one night stand with a hot rockstar to take the edge off.
But now, you can’t help but feel that your body still hums with the echo of her touch.
You don’t notice the subtle flicker of movement—a camera shutter clicking once, twice, in a quiet, practiced rhythm drowned out by the city noise.
The soft thud of the car door seals you off from the world, and as you settle into the seat, you catch your own scent—a heady mix that unmistakably smells just like her. You rest your head back and inhale slowly, grounding yourself as the car pulls away from the curb.
But you don't know that across the street, a photographer flips through his shots, zooming in on your face.
You don’t know that in just an hour, your name will be trending worldwide—paired inseparably with hers.
And you don’t know that later, back in the hotel room, Ellie is still standing by the window, scrolling through her phone. She pauses, eyes narrowing as a fresh notification pops up, a text from her manager— with a TMZ headline.
Your name.
Hers.
“Shit.”

A swipe of her thumb changed the trajectory of the summer for the better. What was meant to be a slothful three months of taking it day by day, hoping, praying for any excitement to befall the lazy crawl of time became late nights tapping away at her phone, and endless conversations with a boy in another timezone: Joaquin. The dating app had been a distraction, uninstalled as soon as his number made its way into her contacts, texts traded for images. Innocent, as it always starts, he sent himself, in the gym, muscular arms flexed, pretty pearly whites flashing in a charming smile. Tan skin, overgrown curls slanting into playful eyes, she’d found herself intimidated, yet enthralled all the same.
He was treating her. It was only right she rewarded him in return.
Joaquin’s recompense took the form of a mirror selfie in a dressing room; a baby pink dress, made to be taken off, kissing, clinging to every curve — mouth watering. To add to his torture, she’d followed the vision up with: so cute, so expensive. Exposed by the exchange, their definitions of expensive were worlds apart.
$3000 received from Joaquin Torres: ‘Wear it for our first date.’
“Joaquin, that’s too much, you have to take it back,” she’d whined over the phone minutes later, a deep chuckle coming from his end of the line.
“You said it was expensive—”
“Yeah, eighty bucks!” Too loud, catching glares from other shoppers, she sighed and lowered her voice. “It was only eighty bucks. I can afford that, I’m sending it back.” She was still shaken from the notification, fingers trembling, intending to do as she said, brought to an end by his answer.
“No.” Joaquin’s tone was firm, his grin audible, his mind made up. “Keep it, buy yourself other pretty things to wear for me. You need more, you let me know.”
Men in the real world can’t be trusted, men online ought to be monsters, but there are always outliers; a man too good to be true that happens to be true after all. With money in her account, and shopping bags littering her bedroom, she’d convinced herself that Joaquin was her Prince Charming, sent to her by Aphrodite herself to save her from the lonely, boyfriend-less, love-empty, paycheck-to-paycheck life, that his interest reflected hers identically. He was respectful, kind, patient, and had yet to bring up the topic of sex, whereas any other man in his seat would’ve begun posing with his cock in his hand. The bar was low, and Joaquin was in his home gym, using it to make those strong arms of his all the more delicious, raising it with ease.
A month and a half into being matchmade, one night on FaceTime, after almost an hour of blissful silence, Joaquin asked, “You wanna come to my party next weekend?” The question was posed as though there weren’t thousands of miles between them, met with hesitation on her end, causing him to continue: “I’ll fly you out Thursday, we can hang on Friday… I’ll take you shopping. Party’s Friday night. It’ll be fun.” He sounded nervous, fumbling for words to convince her. Those brown puppy dog eyes twinkling below furrowed brows, gazing at her lips, waiting for them to part, only to cut her off when they did, trying his very best to stave off what he thought was oncoming rejection, the rumble of his chest audible in his words as he murmured, “I really want to see you. I want to touch you and kiss you good morning and good night. The texts aren’t enough anymore…” His hands clamping over his face, he fell back onto his bed, out of frame. “Your lips look so soft — you look so soft. Please.”
How could she say no?
⠀⠀
⠀⠀
Joaquin traces the shield shape of the Porsche logo with his fingertips, his knee bouncing as he watches the automatic sliding doors of the airport gate like a hawk. He’s seen her silhouette a thousand times in pictures, stalking her Instagram, scrolling through their texts, imprinting every line of her figure behind his eyelids. Every moment of downtime is consumed by her, thoughts notching themselves into a spectrum of museum dates and ice cream to her pressed into his mattress, chanting his name like a mantra. Ice cream was easy to discuss, a two-hour conversation about favorite flavors and other sweet treats — a mutual sweet tooth — had distracted him from his work only days prior. He’d called her sweet, she’d giggled, and he’d forced his next set of words to die on his tongue: Can I have a taste?
The doors open, and angels sing. Heavenly beams of light dance over delicate features as she finally appears. A gust of wind blows past, tousles beautiful, beautiful hair, sending her into a bout of struggle as she rushes to fix it, not catching him approaching her in the midst. He calls her name, softly at first, then a bit louder.
“Joaquin!” She chirps back, sheepish simper on glossy lips. “Hi!” Her arms open, inviting him in; he swoops down, drawing her into his embrace without missing a beat. Pressed to his front, her heels lift off the ground, and when he steps back, his hands remain on her waist. Joaquin’s gaze travels down, down, down, absorbing everything from the stitched flowers on her jeans to the ribbon ties of her shoelaces. Then, up, up, up, waist, chest, a swan-like neck— a face that broke the mold. Their eyes meet, and it dawns on him that she’s doing the same, opening her mouth, but he steals the words before she can speak.
“You’re real,” he breathes out, his thumbs pressing into her shirt, the warmth of his palms seeping through the fabric. Her smaller hands find his chest, her smile bashful.
“I am…”
He doesn’t kiss her just yet, too shaky, too nervous — afraid he’ll lay it on too thick and chase her off. His nerves contradict the romantic perfectionist in him, the one that wants their first kiss to be memorable, not just a formality in front of the airport; a lazy, no-effort thank you for humoring him and taking a flight across the country. The gentlemanly things are in order overall — carrying her bags to the trunk, opening the passenger side door, holding her hand as she climbs into the seat… feigning confidence as her gentle gaze follows his movements, beholding him with a fondness he doesn’t allow himself to translate. He fears if he does, he won’t make it to their destination without spilling all over her.
“My place first — got all your favorite stuff made for dinner, you gotta eat real food after that bullshit they try to feed you on the plane,” he says with his signature smile, buckling himself in. She adjusts her seatbelt, and shrugs, his brightness contagious; her cheeks already feel warm from grinning so much.
“I dunno… I like the snacks they give you! They gave me complimentary champagne, that was nice! I didn’t know rich people got to be drunk for free on flights.” Arguing her case is useless because Joaquin shakes his head as he drives off the sideroad, onto the lane heading towards the freeway. He opens his mouth to declare an equally playful rebuttal when she continues, “But let me guess, it’s cheap, wack champagne. Right? Right, Joaquin?”
He gasps, chokes out a laugh, and then nods, “It’s fucking terrible!”
Banter is more common than not between them — Joaquin’s personality thrives off it, his goal in any conversation is to make the other laugh. With her, it’s especially important — special. If he can work his way to one of her mellifluous giggles, his day is made, and the rest of the world can go to hell for all he cares. Over the phone, it’s a piece of cake. When she’s less than arm’s width away, it’s natural, as though the space between them has always been minimal. He tells a joke, she laughs, presses a dainty little hand to his bicep, and he decides he’ll never let that space grow again.
⠀⠀
⠀⠀
The GPS blanks out shortly past them turning off the main road, much to her confusion, as the street they’re on is very much paved. Joaquin notes the knit in her brow, and offers a grin with an explanation, “This is the driveway. All this belongs to me— my family, they wanted their house at the center of it all. These are all orchards.”
After all this time, she’s become acutely aware of Joaquin’s financial status. If it weren’t for the downpour of gifts, the stacks of paperwork that occupied his attention during their calls and FaceTimes had made it transparently obvious. However, seeing it before her eyes couldn’t be more jarring. His car takes them from a dark asphalt path to one of sandy, beige stone, leading up to a mansion that’s nothing short of a palace. It’s perfect for California, with a white stone exterior. Rounded tuscan-style tiles of an earthy red shade decorate the roof. Gardeners take delicate care of the flowers surrounding the entrance, and Joaquin greets them with a smile as he drives up to the front door, circling the statue of a headless angel at the center of the roundabout.
“This is all so beautiful,” she muses, beaming, her orbs and her simper twinkling just alike. “I really appreciate you bringing me here, this is the coolest house I think I’ve ever seen.” Joaquin hums, and tells her it’s not a big deal as he removes his shoes near the entryway, feet sliding into a pair of navy green slippers. Hopping up the stairs leading to the set of wooden double doors, a step and a half behind him, she spins a full circle, ogling at the masterpiece of a lawn from a proper point of view, filling her chest with a deep breath. Her compliment isn’t empty politeness, it truly is the grandest place she’s ever visited. To say she’s out of her depths is an understatement, and she glues her palms to her jeans. She thought she was scared of heights, snakes, or bugs, yet the mere thought of bumping a table and shattering one of the beautiful, priceless glass motifs climbs her list of fears at the speed of light.
Not only would it drive Joaquin away, and upset him, but in no universe would she be able to financially recover — that is, if she could cover the cost in the first place.
Joaquin sets a pair of slippers before her, looking almost as skittish as she feels. “You c-could stay here,” he stammers without thinking, eyes widening upon realization, hurriedly attempting to apologize, “Sorry. Not like with me— I know you booked at a hotel, but we have a lot of rooms— I wouldn’t ask you to have sex with me on our first day of—” Cutting himself off mid-sentence, he glances up. She’s staring at him, amused, with that same fondness from earlier. “Stop. Don’t laugh.”
“I wasn’t going to laugh!”
A chuckle slips past her lips, betraying her. “You’re laughing!” Joaquin grunts, rubbing a hand over his face, shamefaced. It isn’t fair to take her time removing her sneakers and shoving her feet into the provided pearly white slippers, to make him wait. It isn’t fair at all, but what is she to do when he looks so cute standing there, blushing? “Say something… please.”
“I don’t think… that… and I wouldn’t mind staying over…” she replies, trailing off, looking anywhere but his eyes, teasing him.
“But? Is there a but in there?” His frown deepens, high cheekbones glowing pink. “You’re still fucking with me!” A sigh, and her countenance softens.
“You already did so much for me, I owe you so much money, I don’t wanna impose and—”
“I don’t care about that. I’d really — really like it if you spent the night — if you’re comfy enough with me to do that — I know it’s probably weird, though, so I’m probably scaring you — Christ.” This time, he runs both hands down his red hot face, and blurts out, “I really like you! I’m so excited that you’re here and I don’t wanna look like a fuckin’ virgin and give you the ick — you can say no, I won’t be mad, but just know I’ll keep a safe distance and—”
“Don’t want you to keep a safe distance,” she cuts in. It sucks all the air out of his lungs; he waits with bated breath. Her voice subsides, quietens to say, “I’ll stay. I would love to stay… I mean, came all this way to see you, right? I should spend as much time with you as I can, no?”
“Yeah, yeah… I think so, too…” Soothed by her answer, Joaquin pads closer, she has to tilt her head up to maintain eye contact. His curls curtain his gaze; longing, locked in on her parted lips — it flicks up, he wordlessly asks for permission, and she lifts her chin in response. Her heart pounds against her ribcage, teeth digging into her lower lip as one large hand snakes around her hip, two fingers in her belt loop. He’s so close, close enough to breathe in his expensive cologne, the one made in 2007 that he always complains about not finding — the mint on his lips, the gum he chews to help him quit smoking. Surreal doesn’t cover it, he’s a materialization of every fun fact he’s ever told her, and sure, that’s how life works, but how could the years craft someone so desirable? Someone she gets the privilege of feeling, her palms against his torso. He’s warm — strong under her touch, and his heart… it threatens to beat out of his chest, right into her hand as he kisses her. He’s all soft lips and careful tugs to her hips, his other hand finds the opposite loop, the pads of his thumbs glide under the hem of her cotton shirt — he kisses her like he’s trying to slow down time; gentle, patient.
It’s romantic, liplocking in the arched doorway of a mansion surrounded by orchards, the sun setting in front of them, silhouetting them in pinks and purples. She pulls back only once she’s breathless, bunching his shirt into her fists, and Joaquin chases one last peck, followed by a bright white grin that crinkles his eyes. He’s about to speak when an older woman emerges from around the corner, and squeals, picking up speed until she’s standing before them, either oblivious to their closeness or indifferent to it.
“This is the girl you were telling me about!” She sings the words, smiling from ear to ear. Joaquin, slightly miffed, looks at her and sighs, dragging his hand across the belt of the younger girl’s jeans, over the small of her back to wrap his arm around her waist.
“Yes, mom, this is her,” he groans, his cheeks taking on a rosy hue once more, out of embarrassment this time. A type of embarrassment that only a mother can invoke in her child. He goes about introducing them, gesturing his hand from one to the other, “ —and this is my mom, Esperanza.”
“I’ve heard so much about you, it’s so good to finally meet you!” Esperanza shakes her hand with both of hers, glowing with joy.
“He talks about me?”
The grunt Joaquin lets out is answer enough, though Esperanza is more than happy to elaborate: “Oh, yes! At this point, there isn’t much else he talks about. He was so excited about you coming here, he had his outfit set on his bed like picture day was coming up—”
“Mama!”
“Ah… right. You weren’t supposed to know about that.” Esperanza reaches out and pets his curls dotingly, her laughter mixing with that of their visitor’s. “I’m sorry, cariño, it was an accident!” It’s an endearing sight, the masculine, self-sufficient, all-capable presence that is Joaquin Torres defeated by his adoring mother in front of the girl he’s utterly enamored by. “Shall we eat? I’m very excited for tonight’s dinner, I have so many questions for you!” Then, she boops the younger girl’s nose — boops it, leaving her stunned as she all but dances away.
“I am so sorry,” Joaquin groans out, covering his eyes with his free hand. Even still, his fingers are wrapped around her waist. “That was so—”
“Cute. That was so cute.” Interrupted for the umpteenth time, he’s once again led away from his anxiety by her sweet voice. “I love your outfit, too… Very impressed.” A playful scowl tugs at his upper lip and she giggles, pushing up onto her tiptoes to kiss it away.
“Thank god for that,” he murmurs against her mouth, kissing her once more just as his mother’s voice bellows from the opposite end of the hallway, and he rolls his eyes, tugging the girl along towards the dining room. “C’mon.”

Intuition

Masterlist
Yandere Batfam Blurb
The pain faded when you turned sixteen, only having a phantom ache when one more stray was added to your ‘family’. There was no reason to wonder why they were so uninterested in your life, for as long as you could remember, they had been creatures of the night, and you were the anomaly. Oddly enough.
At first, they tried to integrate you into their lifestyle, but it was hard when all you craved was love, affection, and a place to call home. So they grew uninterested. The worst you ever felt was hearing snide remarks and playground bullying just because you were different.
Your interest lies in the arts that weren’t comparable to figuring out the Riddler's plans or stopping the Joker. To the world, you were most impressive, but after a while even the praise from others meant nothing. Resentment grew easily of course, being giggled at when you left the room was beyond degrading and insufferable. But when offered a spot in one of New York’s best schools for the arts, every memory that left you crying leaped clean off your chest.
A brand new start in a new city—the best city— is exactly what you need. Packing was a challenge as you couldn’t bring the heart to throw away everything and leave without a suitcase and a part of you felt like you would return to the manor one day, so you left everything reminding you of Gotham.
The last thing on your plate before you left would be telling Bruce. You stalked down the gothic halls filled with priceless paintings and old photos, elated, you planned to simply ask for money and be out of his hair.
No more crying, pleading, begging your pseudo father to have interest shown towards you. You knocked on the door to his office, waiting patiently before he let out a tired grunt to come in. He looked up at you, gaze meeting, his eyes lingering for only a second before focusing back on his papers.
“ Y/n.”
“ Father, I need money for a flight to New York.”
He paused his writing, looking up at you curiously. You went on to briefly explain that you were accepted into a new school and would be leaving later that night. You bit your lip anxiously, wondering why he suddenly looked so shocked by what you said, he had always known about your love for music, dance, and drawing, not that he truly paid any mind to your ‘senseless babbling’ as he would call it.
“ Do you want one of my credit cards?” he questioned, finally redirecting his intense stare back to his work.
“ Yes, that will do.”
He hummed and shooed you away by telling you Alfred would give you everything you needed before your flight. Walking back to your room, that phantom pain visited your chest cavity. Even knowing you were leaving didn’t truly spark anything in him and you thought you knew better than to expect a reaction other than indifference. The little girl in you finally let the last ember of hope fade out that day.
The flight to New York was brisk but you're glad you chose it. Alfred offered to just drive you, but it would be dreadful having to show your dorm and lifestyle change from the mansion. Although he wasn’t as unkind to you as the others, Alfred never once stopped the rude comments or showed interest in anything about you, not even in what you liked to eat. What was the point of having an uncomfortable ride?
New York was exhilarating, the city is exactly as described and you couldn’t be more in love. The city was alive and electric, it breathed hopes and dreams to anyone who stepped inside. It was easy to make friends, the school was heavily social and you quickly settled into this new life.
Parties during spring break and recognition for your talents had you in a multitude of social circles you couldn’t even recognize the girl you had become. A newfound confidence in every stride and a smile that never left your face. Now and then you would get some calls, unknown numbers, plus a few in between those calls from Bruce.
It was strange but you ignored both, getting a new number all together because Bruce would never care about your slight over-the-top spending habits to call you about it. Maybe he was beginning to see what he was missing out on, oh well. The heat of the city was something you barely felt under all the smog of Gotham, the pollution seldom let you see the blue of the sky.
New york was full of people who knew who they were, and what they wanted, and even if they were unsure they stood confident. You embraced it, dressing in clothes that would’ve had you outcasted in Gotham and its gothic glory, letting the colors dance on the bronze of your skin. The caterpillar finally became a butterfly, oh so radiant, that must be what drew everyone into you.
When the semester finally came to its end, furthermore, you had presented your final piece, performed a new play, sending off the graduates and the other students off with glee, you decided it was time for a vacation. “Y/n, do you have any plans for the summer?” your friend asked while the two of you lounged at a small cafe.
“ I think we should go to the Hamptons if you don’t have anything planned.”
“ I’ll be overseas for the first two weeks of July, I would love to go in August.”
While you spent the first days of summer lounging under the sun, the bats were still surrounded by darkness, following their same routine. It was one of those days where everyone decided to linger around the cave.
Bruce was oddly glued to his phone screen even when his youngest son tried getting his attention by throwing a knife at him. Easily dodging and continuing to tap away only made the young boy angrier. “ Father, we need to continue training, what has you so distracted?”
“ We can train later, Damien, I’m very busy,” he grumbles.
All of his children suddenly stopped what they were doing, curiosity beginning to peak, could it be a new villain? The joker again? With one look from Dick to Jason to Tim his screen was easily pulled up onto the large monitor. It was a surprise to all when they saw your face, smiling and radiant all over the screen. “ Since when did Y/n have social media?” Barbra spoke up.
“ Recently. Since she…moved to New York for school,” Bruce replied. On the screen, a video appeared, you were accepting an award for one of your paintings. The family became engrossed in the new life you had, telling Bruce to click comments and click on your friends' pages.
Jason was irritated, he can’t even remember the last time he saw you, and Bruce never told anyone you were just going to up and leave. “ Why didn’t you tell us she was going to New York? When did she even leave?” He barked at Bruce. Bruce sighed, looking up at him, “ Well, when she left we were dealing with Penguin and you weren’t around until two months ago so I just never got to it.”
“Well, why didn’t you tell the rest of us? Dick or Tim could’ve told me if you told literally anyone else.”
Bruce shrugged his shoulders, turning back to his screen, “ Well, now you know Jason, and so does everyone else.” Bruce was becoming agitated by questions, he wanted to continue looking at your little life you’ve been building, watching his little girl laugh and smile made him feel bittersweet.
He was beginning to realize how little time the two of you spent together and how he would ignore you whenever you tried to make a connection. He should be there giving you flowers and taking you sightseeing, but you left all on your own only asking for a credit card. The others went on their way, four of them becoming increasingly interested in this new and improved Y/n Wayne.
After a grueling night, the four men of the bunch return to the manor, without word, they had Tim pull up everything involving you dating back five years. The pictures became sparse when you got younger, but it was evident you had always been obsessed with art no matter what form it took.
Hacking into your social media was angering, not just because of what they saw behind your public posts, but because of the ease of your passwords. Throughout your posts were dances, paintings, you at galleries, and you with friends… who were also bad influences to a sixteen year old girl. When diving deeper, they knew they might find things they didn’t like, such as videos on your google photos of you at parties.
All but one adorned red ears and everyone was forced to look away, not being able to bear witness to you being as reckless as they were at your age. Wanting to keep their image of you, their baby girl, squeaky clean.
You painted your first days of summer away, relaxing in your dorm finally having some alone time for the first time in almost a year. It was the most peace you’ve had in life, you should’ve known there was no way in hell that this was truly your life now.
Too good to be true. It was just too fuckin good to be true. As your first week of summer break ended and you were enjoying the breeze in central park your phone rang, looking down at your bright screen the caller ID read Bruce Wayne. Your scrunched your face, irritation filtering into your spirit. You answer trying your best not to sigh as he began speaking.
“ Y/n, are you busy right now?”
“ No Br-father,”
“ O-oh well I wanted to talk to you about returning to Gotham for a while.” Bruce spoke, trying to hide the fact that he was flabbergasted. You almost called him Bruce before quickly correcting yourself. New York has done a number on his baby girl.
You snatch the phone from your ear almost ferociously, return to gotham he said? Return to the place where you spent over a deade miserable? Someone better have died again for you to even consider something so preposterous.
“ Um I don’t know if I can return any time soon, I have a trip planned and I’m working on a few paintings that I want to submit for a show in September.” You spoke.
He smiled into the phone, the slight waver of your voice let him know you were lying. He hummed thoughtfully, “ I’ll send Alfred over now and we can bring your paintings, and over dinner we will discuss this trip you plan on going on and with who.” You couldn’t hide your bewilderedness, you almost forgot you weren’t speaking to just anyone but Bruce Wayne. A billionaire who could make anything happen including but not limited to sending over his butler to gather his daughter’s painting in under an hour.
“ I’m honestly just not too keen on being in Gotham—Listen father I have to get back to my work.” With that you hung up your phone rushing to the nearest exit of the park throwing out what was left of a drink you were carrying. You rushed to your dorm, not even to pack an over night bag but to simply gaze at it lovingly.
This space, this mini apartment meant the world to you and every part of it showcased memories old and new. In this moment non of it felt real, it was all dream like to you.
The sun seeped in through the windows, reaching all the way to your ankles illuminating your dorm in a warmth that Gotham probably only experienced before the existence of humans. Your phone buzzed again and it was a message from Alfred letting you know he would be in front of your dorm in less than twenty minutes.
You bit your lip while a sense of dread washed over you. Such a familiar feeling but the last few months had you believing you’d never experience it again. You’d have to face Bruce and that whole godforsaken family again when you had just gotten used to thinking that part of your life had possibly been a figment of your imagination.
You laugh at yourself, thoughts running amuck when you knew you now had fifteen minutes to back a bag and put your painting into something that wouldn’t damage it during the drive. You lull your head back and clap your hands before quickly moving around the apartment gathering your belongings.
When the car pulled up your body fought itself. Run back inside, hide underneath your bed and turn off your phone pretend as if you’d ran away or maybe you didn’t hear— do something but don’t get in that car— do not go back to Gotham. You gave alfred a polite smile that vanished when you turned your head back to the road.
Small talk was even more aggravating when you genuinely didn’t want to associate yourself with people. Your grew angry when the drive was nearing its end, Gotham and New York were too close for your liking and you had little to no time to prepare and rehearse the made up conversations in your head. The manor came into view and your eyes almost buldged out of your head when Bruce was waiting for you outside the manor door with his youngest little goblin.
You got out of the car, heels scrapping the pavement and extending you an extra pillar of strength. Your eyes met neither Bruce or Damien but you held your head high as they observe you. Bruce smiled at you walking over and embracing you. You were frozen in place.
“ Y/n you look beautiful, I hope your ride was pleasant.”
When he realized you weren’t moving to embrace him back he released you stepping back to look you in your eyes. Your lifted an eyebrow and side stepped him following Alfred into the manor trying to shake off the confusion within your spirit. The manor was dark and unwelcoming all but screaming at your bright colors to leave at once.
You grounded yourself with the sound of your heels stalking through the cold manor to your room feeling Damien and your father’s presence behind you. Alfred helped you settle into your room while the two watch, you felt like you were under a microscope from how hard their eyes burned into your every being and movement.
“ Y/n why don’t you show your brother and I your new painting—”
“ Father can yo please just tell me what the fuck is going on? Why are you behaving as if you even care about a single thing I do? Why am I back at the manor and why on earth was it so important for me to get picked up almost immediately after your weird phone call?” You couldn’t stand another minute of this weird shit.
Why was hovering over you pretending like he cared about you? You knew who bruce Wayne was, especially the Bruce who presetented towards you, his odd child, the child who didn’t have any interest in being a vigilante. The chil he neglected and let get bullied and ridiculed by his other other children who thought she was a useless accessory for the Wayne’s public name.
Bruce sighed, he knew he shouldn’t have come on so strong right off the bat but he couldn’t help himself. He was enamored by the way you simply came out of the car like you couldn’t care any less to be here. You, one of his first children along with Dick whom he barely paid any attention due to his life as Batman.
He had no words that would southe you, he along with the rest of your siblings were riddled in guilt and admiration for you. He knew how the children spoke about you, but he never stepped in due to knowing that although they might sound harsh to outsiders the children were always somewhat jealous of your carefree life that they themselves know they could never have.
Out of every kid you were the one who had absolutely no interest in him as Batman and becoming one of the vigilanties under his wing. You did whatever you wanted to do without thinking there is a possibility of your identity being revealed and you would need to spend all night fighting someone or something twice your size.
Bruce was only now realizing that you had been ostrasized from them, his baby probably thinking she was hated for simply existing. Without letting his small smile drop from his face he walked in your room further sitting on the edge of your bed. “ I called you because I knew summer had just started and I wanted you to come home, the manor has been empty without you as you know most of your siblings don’t live here anymore.”
“ I’ll save the in depth version of this coversation for dinner as I have invited over the entire family to welcome you back… and Y/n, I care about you very much.” You gave him an incredulous look as he got up, pat your head, and walked out with Alfred and Damien.
The little demon only sparring you a glare once more before following his father. A wave of nausea unearthed itself in the pit of your stomach.

rafe is precious about his car.

it’s one of his less admirable traits, but he spends way too much money on his benz and there is no way he’ll let anyone get it dirty.
it’s light blue and sleek, and inside it’s leather and pristine. he’s had it for seven months and it still has that new car smell. maybe it’s because of the lack of fast food he lets in his car. either way, his car is pristine and he will not let someone like you, his girlfriend, mess it up.
there’s a few times where he has to reiterate some of his rules for you. the first rule? no feet on the seat.
it’s a rule you cannot seem to get through your head, as much as you try. it’s just comfy to have your knees to your chest as you sit and relax.
getting in the car after a late night at topper’s house party, your knees find your way to your chest so your chin can rest of them and you can shut your eyes after a tiring and busy night. as you put your feet up, rafe grabs your ankle and yanks your leg down.
“ow, rafe!” you whine.
“c’mon, you knew that was coming. no feet on the seat,” was his answer, reiterating his rule.
“what if i take off my shoes?” you offer, just wanting to rest comfortably on the drive home.
“no.” he repeats. “no feet, baby,” you sigh.
“my feet are clean,”
“stop arguing, not gonna work,”
so with that, you slump in the seat, choosing to be content sitting normally, with his big hand on your thigh.
the second rule is no food in the car. it’s a simple rule, one you obey most of the time. unless the two of you are in the car for a while.
“oh, rafe, there’s a chick-fil-a,” you point out during a road trip with him. “can we go through the drive thru?”
“fuck no,” he responds, driving straight past it.
“but raaafe, i’m hungry!” you complain.
“hey, i can turn around and we can eat in,”
you shake your head. “no, rafe, got these in,” you point to the heatless curlers in your hair. “can’t go in public with these,”
“shit,” he sighs. “no food, then,”
“why can’t we just go through the drive thru and you can make an exception?”
“no.”
you groan and he keeps driving. it’s a cruel thing to keep your girlfriend from eating, but he doesn’t trust you (or anyone) not to make a mess. so it’s worth it for him.
the third and final major rule is that you don’t control the music. every single part of his life is integrated with you, he’s bent his lifestyle for you, so the one thing he gets that’s still fully masculine and him, is his music.
every now and then you’ll make a request, and he might play it. but for the most part, he’s listening to rap and r&b music — future, carti, kendrick, don toliver, drake.
he’ll listen to a request if it’s out of the three ‘girly’ artists you like. that includes sza, lana del rey, and tate mcrae. he only started to warm up to taylor swift when you played him ‘end game’ and the version of ‘bad blood’ featuring kendrick. he likes only a few lana songs, which are the ones with a$ap, quavo, and the weeknd.
if you happen to request someone not his speed, he’s not gonna listen, in any circumstance.
“ray, can i have the phone to play a song?” you ask gently, reaching for his phone. he grabs your wrist.
“woah, woah. uhhhh, it depends, baby,” he stops you. “who you gonna play?”
“was gonna play some sabrina or gracie,”
“no, don’t like ‘em.”
“raaaafe,” you whine. “you’ve literally gone to sabrina’s concert with me!”
“that was just so we could do her position for that one song,”
you sigh, slumping in the leather seat. “fine.”
he pats your thigh to cheer you up. “hey, c’mon, tell you what — i’ll play that lana song we both like. what’s it called again?”
“groupie love?” you perk up a bit.
“yeah,”
“okay!”
he turns the song on, turning it up loudly. his fingers drum to the beat on your thigh, as you perk up and listen too.
rafe’s precious about his benz, but it’s okay to you — because maybe if you’re good, you’ll be bent over in the backseat after the drive.

My Girl
Hi! I’m totally new to this, so I’m sorry if this is all over the place. lmk if you guys like it!
—————————————————————————-
After a tough win, the team gathered in Paige’s room since she is hosting the party. Paige is talking to Ice and KK in the kitchen when Azzi walked in. Azzi is her best friend, who might also be the love of her life. Not that Azzi needs to know that. Of course she’s stunning, even in a crop top and jean shorts. The past few months they’ve been crossing the appropriate lines for friendship with lingering touches and flirty banter.
Across the room, some guy was standing way too close to Azzi. Her Azzi. Paige knows Azzi isn’t hers, but it kills her to think of Azzi with anyone else. That guy keeps leaningt in closer and closer to Azzi. Paige tried to look anywhere else, but her eyes had a mind of their own, and Azzi felt those piercing blue eyes burning into her. When Azzi looked over at Paige, she saw something in her eyes she’d never seen before.
When he put his arm on her waist, Azzi stepped backward uncomfortably. Something took over Paige’s body, and suddenly, she was next to Azzi. Her long arms slid around Azzi’s waist, pulling her in and away from that guy. “Hey Az, sorry I took so long. Here’s your drink.”
Azzi leaned into Paige’s soft yet possessive touch. “That’s okay, I was just talking to, uh, Jake, right?”
Barely acknowledging Paige, he responds, “Yeah, so how about that dance?” Is this Jake guy serious? Paige literally has her arm wrapped around Azzi and she wasn’t even sure of his name. Azzi’s whole body stiffened as she leaned further into Paige. “I’m just gonna hang out with my team, but thanks.” He didn’t seem to care. “Aw c’mon Azzi, I’ll show you a good time.”
“She’s good.”
“I didn’t realize I needed to talk to security first. If you didn’t notice, I was talking to Azzi.”
Paige stepped in front of Azzi, making sure he couldn’t touch her. “If you didn’t notice, Azzi said no. So back the fuck off my girl and get out of my apartment.” It just slipped out, but god, Paige wishes she could call Azzi her girl every day.
“Her girl? You for real, Azzi?”
“Yeah, she’s my girlfriend, so maybe give it up and leave us alone.” Speechless, Jake left quickly to avoid further embarrassment.
“Your girl, huh?” Azzi says as her hands rub up Paige’s biceps.
Paige wrapped her arms entirely around Azzi’s waist as if she’d done it every day of her life. Thankfully, the lights are low, hopefully blocking her blush. “Well, hopefully not his girl.”
“Yeah, definitely not looking to be his girl.”
“You lookin to be someone’s girl?” Paige’s eyes drifted down to Azzi’s lips, moving her hand to rest on her lower back. Azzi bites her lip, “Hm, no longer looking, just waiting for her to get it together.” Paige suddenly couldn’t breathe. Does that mean what she thinks it means? They always avoid these conversations, but the liquid courage is pushing boundaries. Paige can’t say that she’s in love with her. She can’t ruin their friendship and everything they’ve built, but she can’t stop touching Azzi either. “Uh, do you want to go dance?”
“Yeah, P, let’s go dance.” Azzi drops her hands down to Paige’s, and Paige starts to think maybe Azzi doesn’t want to stop touching either. The music feels like an excuse to be way closer than friends should, but it all happens so naturally. When Azzi starts to move her hips into Paige slowly, her breath hitches, and she grabs Azzi even tighter. Paige knows there’s no way they can use being best friends as an excuse anymore. She knows their teammates will tease her about this tomorrow, but it doesn’t matter because she has Azzi in her arms. As the beat speeds up, so do their hips as they grind into each other. A soft whimper leaves Azzi's mouth and Paige can’t help herself, “Fuck Az you’re so hot”
They are now face to face, their lips just an inch apart, and Azzi’s hands are in blonde strands. With a mischievous smirk, Azzi says “Yeah? You think so?”
“You have no idea.”
“Then show me.” Paige has never moved so fast in her life. She drags Azzi through the crowd and to her room. Slamming the door shut, Paige shoves Azzi against the wall with one hand on her waist and the other leaning above her head. “Say it again.”
Looking up at Paige with hooded eyes, Azzi practically whispers to Paige, “Show me.”
Paige leans in, their lips brushing, but not fully touching. “You sure, Az?” There’s no going back after this and Paige is praying they never have to.
“Paige, please. I want to be yours.” Something broke inside Paige, and she kissed her like her life depended on it. She’s dreamed of kissing her a million times over, but this kiss is better than she could have ever imagined. Azzi slightly opened her lips, inviting Paige’s tongue. Their kiss progressively got more passionate. Paige began to kiss down Azzi’s cheek to her neck, sucking and biting just to get Azzi to whimper.
“You wanna be mine, huh?” Paige chuckles and says possesivley as she leaves marks down her neck. Letting out a moan at the words, Azzi grips at the hair on the back of Paige’s neck, “Yes, fuck, P, you feel so good.” Paige slips one of her legs between Azzi’s and moves her hand just under Azzi’s breast. “Tell me what you want.”
Pulling Paige’s head back up to her face, Azzi breathes heavily, “I want to be yours, Paige.” Staring into her eyes, Paige finally says it. “You’re mine, Azzi.” Paige pulls at the back of Azzi’s legs, hinting for her to jump into Paige’s arms. Paige picks Azzi up and shoves her hard against the wall, kissing her even harder. Azzi leans her head back, “Mmh, I want you so bad.” Paige takes this as an opportunity to suck at her neck and grind into her hard. The moan that they both release is borderline embarrassing. Their lips reconnect, and Paige walks them over to her bed. “Fuck Az, you look so good,” she says as she straddles Azzi.
They both start pulling off each other’s clothes and grinding into each other. Paige’s hands are hovering dangerously above Azzi’s jean shorts. “Can I?” Azzi nods her head and pushes Paige’s hand down further. Paige fumbles with the button to her jeans as she kisses down her chest. She slips a finger down to rub at her clit. “Fuck, baby please.”
Paige isn’t sure if it’s the term of endearment or the begging, but she knows she’ll do anything Azzi wants. “Tell me who you belong to.” Paige slips two fingers deep into Azzi.
Azzi is a whimpering mess, with her eyes shut, gripping onto the sheets. Paige loves that she can’t speak, but she needs to hear Azzi say it. “Tell me, mama. Who do you belong to?”
“Yours, I’m yours, Paige, fuck!” Azzi yells out as Paige thrusts deeper into her.
“You’re so fuckin sexy, ma. You’re all mine.” Paige can feel Azzi getting tighter. “Your pussy that wet for me, baby?”
Azzi’s eyes are rolling into the back of her head as she grips onto Paige’s shoulder like her life depends on it. “I’m so close, don’t stop.”
Paige laughs at the idea, like she’d ever stop. “C’mon Az, when have I ever done you like that.“
“Paige I love you but shut up and fuck me” Azzi says breathlessly. Did she mean that or was it just in the moment of a fucked out haze? Paige slowed for a moment but knew she couldn’t stop now. She started to rub Azzi’s clit until her legs were shaking. Azzi came screaming her name as Paige continued to finger her guiding her off her high. Out of breathe, Azzi pushed Paige’s fingers away and pulled her up. Paige is trying to act normal about all of this, but Azzi just said she loved her.
Azzi must have noticed Paige’s hesitation, “What’s wrong, P?”
“You love me?” Even to Paige’s ears she could hear the insecurity. Azzi’s face softened as she rubbed across Paige’s jaw. “Of course I love you. I always have. I just have been too scared to push things and risk losing you.”
Paige starts laughing leaving Azzi confused. “Uh, what’s so funny about that?”
“Baby, I’m so fuckin in love with you and we are so dumb.” Azzi smiles, showing those beautiful dimples. “I guess we deserve each other, hm? Maybe now I can return the favor and show you how much I love you.”
Paige can’t believe this is real. Azzi is her girl.

an: LMAO DID I JUST ACCIDENTLY WRITE MY OWN FIRST SMUT LMAO @iimplicitt IS STILL IN SHOCK BUT IT JUST HAPPENED.
wc: 3.4k
warnings: SMUT MDNI (18+), drug use, cheating, graphic? sex
LANDO NORRIS WAS THE KING OF THE ICE—MVP, team captain, the kind of player scouts drooled over. Fast, ruthless, unstoppable. On the rink, he was untouchable. Off it? He was a ticking time bomb.
The parties, the girls, the drugs—it all blurred together in a haze of neon lights and bad decisions. He lived for the rush, for the next high, for the next night he wouldn’t remember. And then came her.
She was off-limits. Oscar’s girl.
Oscar, his teammate, his so-called best mate, the one guy who still believed Lando had a shot at going pro if he could just get his act together. And she was his. The perfect hockey girlfriend—pretty, polished, and loyal, at least in theory.
But Lando saw the cracks. The way her gaze lingered when Oscar wasn’t looking. The way she bit her lip when he got too close. She wasn’t as untouchable as she wanted to be. And Lando? He never turned down a challenge.
One night, a club. Oscar was out of town. She was bored. One too many drinks, a little bit of molly, and suddenly, she wasn’t resisting anymore.
Lando didn’t love her. He didn’t even know if he liked her. But he knew she’d come back. They always did.
Their affair was a game, a sick addiction—sneaking around, pretending there were rules when there weren’t. She hated him. She wanted him. She swore it would stop, but it never did.
Then the cracks shattered.
A video. A night they couldn’t take back. It spread through the team like wildfire, through the uni, through Oscar.
Lando never claimed to be a good guy. He never pretended to play fair. And now? Now, he was about to lose everything—his captaincy, his shot at the league, his best mate.
But the worst part?
He still wanted her.
And he was willing to burn the whole fucking world down to keep her.
7 months ago:
The first time Lando really noticed her, she was wearing Oscar’s jersey.
She was standing just outside the rink after a game, her hair still damp from the cold, laughing at something Oscar had said. Lando should’ve kept walking, but something about the way she smiled made him pause. It wasn’t just pretty—it was effortless, like she wasn’t even trying.
And then she looked at him.
Just a flicker, a half-second too long, before she turned back to Oscar. But Lando felt it. That awareness.
He ignored it. At least at first.
It wasn’t like he needed another complication. His whole life was a balancing act—keeping his grades just high enough to stay eligible, keeping his nose clean enough for the scouts to stay interested, keeping his habits in check enough that the coaches didn’t start asking too many questions.
Besides, he had options. Plenty of them. Girls who didn’t come with consequences.
But she was different.
Not just because she was Oscar’s, but because she wasn’t like the others. She didn’t throw herself at him. She barely looked at him when Oscar was around. She should have been safe.
She wasn’t.
The first mistake was at a party.
The whole team was celebrating a win, the kind of night that blurred into neon lights and sticky floors. Lando had already taken something by the time she showed up, a slow burn in his veins, turning everything soft around the edges.
He saw her first.
She was wearing something tight, something short. Not for him, but it didn’t matter. Because he saw the way her eyes flicked to him when she thought Oscar wasn’t watching. The way her breath hitched when he brushed past her.
She stayed close that night. Close enough that he could smell her perfume, close enough that when she reached for a drink, her fingers skimmed his.
Oscar left early. She didn’t.
Neither did Lando.
It wasn’t planned. He wouldn’t even call it intentional. But the second they were alone, the tension cracked like a shot to the glass.
“You’re drunk,” she murmured when he backed her against the wall.
“So are you.”
She should’ve pushed him away. She didn’t.
And when he kissed her, she kissed him back.
It was a mistake. One they should’ve never repeated.
But they did.
It became a pattern.
It became an addiction.
Oscar would go to bed early after a game, and she’d stay up just a little longer. Oscar would go grab drinks, and she’d glance at Lando across the room. It was never enough to prove anything—but it was enough.
Enough to make it impossible to stop.
The first time he fucked her, it was after another party, both of them high, half-drunk, caught between a hotel room door and a terrible decision. She was gasping his name, fingers digging into his back, and he didn’t even feel guilty.
Because it didn’t feel wrong.
It felt like something that had been waiting to happen all along.
He told himself it wouldn’t happen again.
But it did.
Again. And again. And again.
She never left Oscar. She never tried. Maybe she told herself it wasn’t real, that Lando was just another bad habit, another high she couldn’t quit.
But Lando knew better.
Because she wasn’t the only one addicted.
He should’ve stopped before it got messy. Before the video. Before Oscar found out.
But Lando never stopped anything.
Not until it was too late.
And by then, it wasn’t just his career on the line.
It was everything.
The morning before the end of her world, she woke up to a pounding headache and a sinking feeling in her stomach.
The room was too bright, the hotel curtains half-open, letting in the early morning light that made everything look too real. A slow, creeping nausea settled in as she forced herself to blink.
The sheets weren’t hers.
The bed wasn’t hers.
The shirt she was wearing sure as hell wasn’t hers.
Fuck.
She sat up too fast, the room tilting as last night hit her in flashes - booze, a long drive, Lando’s hand on her thigh in the car, his breath against her neck in the elevator. The taste of him still on her tongue.
Panic clawed up her throat.
And more importantly- where was Oscar?
Her heart was hammering as she shoved the sheets away, swinging her legs over the edge of the bed, but before she could move, a lazy voice cut through the silence.
“Relax.”
She turned, pulse spiking, to find Lando sprawled on the other side of the bed. Shirtless, half covered in the sheets, arm thrown over his forehead like he didn’t have a single fucking care in the world.
Like this wasn’t the worst thing that had ever happened.
“You look like you’re about to be sick,” he muttered, blinking at her through heavy lidded eyes. His voice was hoarse from sleep, slow and thick, and so fucking casual it made her skin craw.
She was about to be sick.
“Where the fuck are we?” she snapped, voice sharper than she meant it to be.
Lando groaned, running a hand through his already messy hair before reaching for something on the nightstand. “Couple hours out. Middle of nowhere. You insisted we get away before Oscar got home, remember?”
She didn’t. But she believed it.
Her fingers clenched around the hem of the shirt, his shirt, realising she wasn’t wearing anything else beneath it. Her stomach twisted.
“This is bad,” she whispered. “This is really fucking bad.”
Lando just hummed, reaching for the little plastic bag sitting next to his phone. She watched in muted horror as he dipped his pinky finger into the powder and brought it to his nose, inhaling it like it was nothing. Like this wasn’t a complete fucking disaster.
“Chill,” he muttered, voice nasally as he sniffed again. “You'll give yourself wrinkles stressing like that. Shit, you’re stressing me out.”
She stared at him, breath coming too fast, too shallow. “Lando, Oscar is going to kill me.”
At that, he actually laughed.
“Kill you?” He scoffed, shaking his head before leaning back against the pillows, watching her through hooded eyes. “No, sweetheart. If anything, he’s gonna kill me.” He tapped a finger against his chest, smirking. “And I don’t plan on dying today, so…”
He reached for her wrist before she could move, tugging her back onto the bed like it was the easiest thing in the world.
“Stay.”
She resisted, barely, fingers digging into the sheets, trying to hold onto whatever little self-control she had left.
“I need to go,” she muttered.
Lando tugged her closer. Not hard, not rough. Just enough to make it impossible to leave.
“Not yet.”
Her breath caught.
“Land-”
His lips brushed her bare shoulder. Just a ghost of a touch. Just enough to make her shiver.
“You made your choice last night,” he murmured. “Might as well enjoy it.”
She wanted to push him away.
She didn’t.
Because Lando was right.
She had already made her choice.
And deep down, they both knew-
She wasn’t going anywhere.
Lando’s breath was warm against her skin, his lips ghosting over her shoulder, lazy but deliberate. Like he had all the time in the world. Like he knew she wasn’t going to pull away.
And she should.
She should push him off, grab her things, and get the fuck out of this hotel room before it got even worse.
But his fingers were already sliding up her thigh beneath the sheets, slow and teasing, his grip just firm enough to make her breath hitch.
“Lando…” Her voice came out weaker than she wanted, barley a whisper.
“Mm?” He hummed against her skin, his mouth brushing the side of her neck now, his stubble scratching just enough to make her shiver.
She swallowed hard. “I need to go.”
He exhaled a quiet laugh, his fingers tightening on her thigh as he pulled her fully into his lap, pressing her back against his bare chest.
“You keep saying that,” he murmured, nosing along the curve of her jaw. His other hand came up to push her hair aside, exposing more of her neck. “But you’re still here.”
She clenched her thighs together, but Lando’s hand was already between them, fingers tracing just under the hem of his oversized shirt.
She hated how easily he could do this - how he could make her body betray her even when her brain was screaming at her to stop.
Hated how much she wanted him.
His hand slid higher, his fingers grazing just over the lace of her panties, a teasing brush that sent heat curling through her stomach.
“You’re fucking dangerous,” she breathed.
Lando grinned against her neck, his teeth catching just enough skin to make her gasp.
“And yet…” His fingers hooked into the waistband of her underwear, dragging them down, his voice dropping to a rough whisper.
“You’re still in my bed.”
And just like that- she stopped fighting it.
She let him pull her back down, let herself sink into the sheets, into him, into the inevitable.
Because she knew the truth.
She was never leaving.
Not really.
Lando’s hands were everywhere.
Sliding up the curve of her thighs, gripping her hips as he pulled her back against him, his breath hot and slow against her neck. She could feel him - hard and insistent, pressing against her.
She should stop this.
She should.
But then his fingers were slipping up higher beneath her borrowed shirt, skimming over her stomach, higher-
Her breath hitched.
He smirked against her skin.
“See?” His voice was low, rough with sleep and something darker. “I knew you weren’t in a rush to leave.”
She wasn’t.
Not when his lips were trailing down her neck, his hands gripping her like he owned her. Like there was no point in pretending she was anyone else’s.
Because wasn’t that the truth?
Oscar might have had her first.
Might still think he had her now.
But this?
This was Lando’s.
And she fucking hated herself for it.
He nudged her thighs further apart, his fingers dragging back down her stomach, slow, teasing-
Then the phone rang.
A shrill vibration from the nightstand, cutting through the thick haze of heat and need.
She froze.
Lando didn’t.
His fingers kept moving, sliding lower, dipping into her, his mouth brushing her ear.
“Don’t answer it.”
She swallowed, pulse hammering in her throat.
The phone kept ringing.
Lando let out a slow, exasperated sigh before reaching past her, grabbing it off the table without properly looking at the screen.
And then he smirked.
“You should probably get this,” he murmured, turning the screen towards her.
Her stomach dropped.
Oscar.
Her hands were shaking as she took the phone from him, but before she could sit up properly, Lando grabbed her wrist, dragging her back down against him.
“Don’t move,” he muttered.
She shot him a glare, but he just grinned, fingers now idly tracing circles against her bare thigh and she hesitated- then answered.
“H-hey,” she said, voice strained.
Oscar’s voice came through the line, casual. Trusting.
“Hey, darling. Can we talk when you’re back from your mum’s?”
Lando grinned.
She felt sick.
Oscar exhaled a slow breath. “The boys showed me this video, and I want to talk about it.”
Her heart stopped.
“I don’t think it’s you, but it’s best we clear the air with what the guys are saying, it’s silly I know.” Oscar continued while she struggled to catch her breath.
Lando must’ve felt her tense, because he laughed - low and lazy, dragging his fingers back up her thigh and in between them, completely unbothered as her entire fucking world crumbles aroundher.
She couldn’t breathe.
Couldn’t speak.
Because she knew.
She knew exactly what video he was talking about.
And it sure as fuck wasn’t a highlight reel.
It was the video that made her call Lando last night.
It was the video that led her to this hotel room.
Her hand tightened around the phone.
Her mouth had gone dry, her stomach twisting into a brutal knot, but she forced a weak, “Yeah, sure.”
Oscar exhaled, oblivious. “Cool. I love you.”
She hung up.
Didn’t say it back.
The second the call disconnected, Lando plucked the phone from her fingers and tossed it onto the nightstand.
Then he laughed again.
A low, smug, wicked sound as his hand made itself comfortable in between her thighs, his mouth ghosting over her neck.
“Well,” he murmured, dragging his teeth over her skin. “That’s unfortunate.”
She clenched her jaw. “You’re a fucking dick.”
He hummed. “Yup.” His fingers teasing over her already aching core.
She wasn’t meant to be feeling this way.
“But as I said before, you’re still here.”
She should leave.
She should be horrified.
Instead, her body betrayed her.
She gasped as his fingers stroked slow, deliberate circles against her, her back arching as heat curled through her stomach.
Guilt tangled with need, twisting into something dangerous, something irresistible.
Her boyfriend had just told her he loved her.
And here she was- spreading her legs for his fucking teammate.
She hated herself.
But she didn’t stop.
Didn’t fight it when Lando rolled her onto her back, his dark eyes burning with amusement, with something possessive.
“You feel guilty,” he murmured, pulling her shirt off.
She didn’t answer.
He smirked. “Good.”
Then he was inside her, stretching her open in one slow, merciless thrust.
She bit her lip so hard she tasted blood.
“Fuck-”
Lando groaned, his hands gripping her thighs as he pulled her closer, deeper, his mouth brushing over hers in something that wasn’t quite a kiss.
“You think about him?” he whispered, rolling his hips, making her whimper. “You think about your boyfriend while you let his teammate fuck you?”
Her nails dug into his back. “Shut up.”
He chuckled, slow and sinful before grabbing her jaw, forcing her to look at him.
“Say my name.”
She shook her head, panting, her body trembling beneath him.
“Say it,” he demanded, thrusting deeper.
She broke.
“Lando.”
His smirk was pure sin.
“Good girl.”
And then she stopped thinking.
Stopped caring.
Let herself drown in the feeling of him, in the way he ruined her, in the way she let him.
And the guilt?
It only made it better.
Her body was betraying her.
Pleasure coiled tight in her stomach, hotter, sharper, with every brutal thrust. She could feel it building, could feel herself unraveling under Lando’s hands, under his weight, under the way he was destroying her.
And he knew it.
He could feel it.
His smirk was pure sin as he drove into her, as he dragged his teeth over her neck, sucking a hickey just where Oscar would see it later.
“You gonna come for me?” His voice was dark, teasing, bruising on her hips. “Gonna let me fuck you out of every last bit of guilt?”
She shook her head, a whimper escaping her lips, but he just chuckled.
“Liar.”
He dropped his hand between them, fingers finding her clit, rubbing slow, devastating circles that made her back arch, her body tightening around him.
“Come on,” he whispered, voice dripping with wicked amusement. “Be a good girl and let go. Let him hear it when he calls back.”
Her breath hitched.
God, she hated him.
Hated the way he knew exactly how to push her, how to twist the knife in her guilt, how to make her body betray her completely.
Because she was close.
So fucking close.
And the Lando pressed his forehead against hers, chain dangling between the two of them, his breath hot, his voice a low growl-
“Come for me, cheater.”
She broke.
Her entire body tense, pleasure ripping through her in waves so intense she thought she might black out. She gasped, nails sinking into his shoulders, a wrecked moan spilling from her lips-
And Lando fucking laughed.
Low, sinister, utterly satisfied.
“That’s my girl.”
He didn’t slow. Didn’t give her a second to recover before he took her again, chasing his own release, using her for it, dragging her deeper into his twisted, fucked-up world.
And she let him
Because at this point, there was no coming back.
Her body was wrecked.
Still trembling, still pulsing around him, her mind fogged with the aftershocks of her orgasm- but Lando wasn’t stopping.
He wasn’t done with her.
He gripped her thighs and pushed them wider, dragging her even deeper onto his cock, making her whimper from the sensitivity.
“Too much?” His voice was teasing, smug, but there was something cruel under it, something that enjoyed watching her squirm.
She nodded, breathless, her whole body shivering-
But he just smirked.
“Too bad.”
His thrusts slowed, but they were deep, drawn out, dragging against every sensitive nerve inside her. She gasped, her legs twitching, hands gripping at his biceps, trying to ground herself, but Lando was relentless.
“You can take it,” he muttered, dragging a hand up her stomach, hand pressing down on her lower belly. “You’re already so fucked out, but I bet you’ll come for me again.”
She shook her head, biting her lip hard enough to hurt, trying to fight the pleasure that was already creeping back in-
He chuckled darkly.
“Cute that you think you have a choice.”
Then his hand slid between them, fingers finding her overstimulated clit, rubbing slow, teasing circles.
Her whole body jerked, a strangled sound leaving her throat.
“L-Lando.”
“I love hearing you say my name like that,” he murmured, brushing his lips over her ear. “All soft. All fucked out.”
She whimpered, a tear slipping down her cheek from the intensity, but he just licked it off her skin, laughing under his breath.
“Poor thing,” he murmured, his voice mocking, his fingers never stopping. “Feeling guilty?”
Yes.
So fuckign much.
But her body didn’t care.
Because she was close again, pleasure building fast, even more devastating than before.
Lando felt it. He felt the way she clenched around him, the way her thighs trembled, the way she was completely at his mercy.
And he loved it.
“Come for me again, cheater,” he whispered, his thrusts getting sharper and faster. “Come while your boyfriend is waiting to talk to you.”
That broke her.
Her second orgasm hit like a gunshot, pleasure searing through her like white-hot lightning. She cried out, body locking up, vision blurring, and Lando groaned as she clenched around him, taking everything he gave her.
Her mind went blank.
She couldn’t think.
Could barely breathe.
And Lando?
He just grinned.
Because she knew why she came back to him every time.
Because she was completely his now.
And there was no going back.
Poor Oscar.

P.S : I'm sorry for any mistakes. English is not my first language!
Y/n wasn't always insecure about herself. Early in life she was a lively, extroverted and free spirit person, but life is unfair and unpredictable. Having the trauma of seeing her father abandon her and her mother for another woman, saying she was the reason why he stopped loving and caring for her mom, left something inside her that it was never possible to mend no matter how hard she tried, making her more focused on studies and goals than boys and dating while growing up. For her, love was an illusion and she wouldn’t make the same mistake as her mother.
Thinking about it now as she heads inside the apartment she shares with Lisa, she never gave anyone an opportunity, but as soon as she saw Jungkook she was drawn to him immediately without any explanation for it. Independence was her thing and she never thought she’d be capable of feeling the way she feels about him right now. Even if that meant that her friendship with Sewoon had to end.
Looking back she knows Sewoon was never a good friend to her and she deserves better. Despite knowing their personalities were completely different from each other, Y/n accepted her anyway. After all, Sewoon had been her first friend, the first person to defend her when necessary and for that she was truly thankful for her. She also knew a little about her past and even though their priorities were different, they understood each other like that.
Sewoon wanted to live life, have fun, go out, drink. Everything a teenager is supposed to do. She lost her virginity at 16 to a boy three years older than her who she met at a party. At the time Y/n asked her how was she able to do something so intimate with someone she had only known for a short time. Her best friend replied no one cared about that anymore. Truth to be told, after that she changed. A lot. Maybe that was when they started to drift apart a little bit. Y/n didn't like this change, not when she tried to do the same to her. Sewoon would share her experience regarding sex, how she did it, what she did and how good it felt. She was sexually active and made sure everyone knew about it, bothering Y/n. It was a subject that she didn't feel confident or comfortable talking about, however Sewoon pressured her to go the same path as her and that pissed Y/n off, but she would let it slide.
Maybe that was the main problem, letting it slide too muc. She never thought they would get to the point they are at today and that's sad. Now, Y/n was envious of all the experience she had acquired over the years, because with Jungkook it worked. He was so enthralled by Sewoon's beauty and comfort around guys, not to mention the way she won over boys, the subtle way of touching and talking to them when she tried to conquer them. Honestly, she admired the way she could make people who weren't interested in her focueds on her so quickly. Y/n knew she would never reach her feet in that way.
Everything that happened today with Jungkook was just one more thing to confuse her. What if she was imagining things? As far as she knows he could flirt like this with everyone else. What if he thought she was easy just because she had feelings for him and he was in need of more than she could give him? She has known him long enough to know he wasn’t part like this but still... One never really knows someone, right? Sewoon is living proof of this.
Walking in her room, Y/n went to change clothes and do her skin care, she had cried so much during the day that her eyes were swollen. She washed her face with cold water and dried it and putting a facial mask on. It was a very cold night but the moonlight helped to alleviate the darkness outside and she took advantage of being alone to go to the living room with her favourite book in hand, sitting in a chair next to the fireplace. The Y/n from a few days ago would be unable to tell Jungkook how she felt, yet both yesterday and today she had already confessed twice and had even confronted Sewoon. She never thought she would be able to raise her voice the way she did.
She somehow feels that Jungkook came into her life to break down all these walls around her heart with his sweet gaze and magnetic smile. She fell in love with him, but didn't have the courage to admit it (to him or herself), which ended up in her best friend dating him and yet she continued to desire him. Damn, she was so happy to know they had broken up, so she could rekindle her friendship with him and although knowing this was not something a good friend would do, at that moment Y/n doesn’t regret staying close to Jungkook, otherwise the moment they shared today wouldn't have happened at all. For that she also has Lisa to thank. God, she was very upset with her, but she ended up opening a path she never thought she would have with him.
Suddenly, she heard the main door open, announcing Lisa's arrival. Lisa hadn't even noticed her since when she arrived it was all dark. When Lisa heard a voice calling her in the distance she screamed and now it was Y/n's turn to laugh. Lisa put her hands to her chest and threw her keys at her in protest.
“You really scared the shit out of me Y/n. What the fuck are you doing with every light turned off? Are you a vampire and I didn’t notice it?” Lisa throws herself on the couch “Huuuuufff finally home! I've never had a day as long as this one. Meetings after meetings, just boring shit. How was your day? Was it a nightmare or a cool one?” Y/n gave a half smile
"Initially it was shitty, but it ended pretty well" Lisa raised her head and made a suspicious face.
“That means something did happen. Oh my god, is it Jungkook related?”
“Yes and no” Lisa was confused. “Last night before going to sleep I sent a text to Sewoon, trying to talk to her about the things I found out on that trip regarding Tae, but she didn't give me an answer so I didn't think much about it anymore. Today, it was almost time for my break when I saw her come in. I told Sana that I was going outside and would be right back, but the conversation didn't go as I expected. She was horrible Lisa, she said tons of shit that affected me a lot. I never met this person before. I saw a person I didn't know existed.”
“What did she tell you?” Lisa whispered and Y/n lowered her head, sighing.
“She basically said that she was happy I had disappeared without telling anyone, that the only bad thing was that Jungkook was constantly wanting to know my whereabouts and not even with the pictures she showed him did he calm down. Ohh and that she prayed for news to arrive that something bad had happened to me. She also mentioned that I had stolen Tae from her and that she’d do everything to be with Jungkook, especially since they had already been together a few times, so she had no doubt that he would choose her over me. A bunch of shit.”
“SHE SAID WHAT? God that girl needs a punch to bring her back to reality I swear the next time I see her I’m gonna end her. Who does she think she is f--” Y/n interrupted her
“It’s okay Lisa. Actually, I need to thank her. After that, I was so upset that Sana told me to leave, I needed to clear my head and you were working so I decided to take a walk. Somehow, I ended up in front of Jungkook's workplace, he ended up seeing me and went after me and insisted on bringing me home, however, I told him I had to make a stop by La Dolce Perla and we ended up having dinner there. Although things were VERY tense at the beginning, by the end of the night I ended up letting some things out and he didn't judge me or anything, quite the opposite, he kept me calm and respected me. There was something in the air you know? Something that was pulling us closer to each other. We almost kissed” Lisa squealed in excitement but then stopped and made a funny face.
“So why didn't you?”
“I - I don’t know... I guess he noticed how nervous I was. We were saying goodbye and then he told me he’d wait for me. I don’t know what kind of waiting was he referring to but somehow that gave me comfort, but I’m not sure it’s a good thing, I mean it gives me hope for a future for us but with Sewoon in the picture I--”
“Why don’t you talk to him about Sewoon? A real and open conversation where both of you get all the answers to your questions. You guys have a lot of connection, don’t miss that over misunderstandings.” Lisa said while hugging Y/n, excusing herself to get ready for bed. She had a very busy day in her company and she was wrecked. Y/n was tired too, so she went to her bedroom, did her routine and fell asleep, or at least she tried to.
On the next day Sana wouldn’t be there so she’d be with the new guy. She never got to make a full shift with him and she was curious to see how it’d go. By the time her alarm went off Y/n was wide awake and ready to star her day. She had the weirdest yet the best dream ever. It was about Jungkook and she was enjoying it so much that when she woke up she cursed her neighbor for making so much noise at 08:15 a.m.
She was going to make a double shift. She hated when her boss asked her favors like these but she really needed the money, that’s what kept her going. Getting there she saw Namjoon cleaning tables. Sana wouldn’t stop gushing over him, how cute he looked or how mature he was for someone his age. Even though Sana didn't have the courage to admit her feelings for him (yet, according to her) there was a palpable chemistry between them. The few moments that Y/n witnessed, made her think about her example, how much she thought she and Jungkook understood each other until Sewoon appeared. The day was passing by very peacefully. Right now there were only two customers so she and Namjoon took the opportunity to get some things done earlier. While at it, they got to know each other better and when they finished what they were doing, they ended up engaging in a deep conversation.
Okay, she had to agree with Sana, he had a great view on life and knew a lot for a 20-year-old. They were so absorbed in their conversation they didn't even notice the arrival of a new customer. Hearing the chirping of a throat in order to draw the attention of the two of them, Y/n was surprised to see Jungkook there with a look she couldn’t describe. Namjoon must have felt the weight of Jungkook’s eyes on him because he used some lame excuse to get out of there as soon as possible, leaving her alone with him.
“Jungkook, hi! I – I wasn't expecting to see you here at this time of the day. Usually you come a little later... Is everything okay?” Jungkook took a whole minute to respond, glancing between her and the door Namjoon had «escaped»
“Yes, everything’s fine. I hmmm- I was around and I-- I know it's almost your lunch time so I passed by to see if you wanted to have lunch with me.” He looks at Namjoon when he sees him walking out with some boxes. “But if you’re busy yo-”
“Imnotbusyatall” she answered so quickly Jungkook didn’t understand a thing so she had to repeat herself, calmer this time. “Sorry. I meant to say I’m not busy. I have two hours for lunch since I'm working double shifts today. I just wasn’t expecting to see you so... early. I mean, for someone who usually shows up around 9pm, it's quite surprising” She smiled, turning her attention to the door, only to see Namjoon walk in again looking at her and Jungkook. He gave her a thumbs up, she flipped him off surreptitiously. Jungkook, on the other hand, was paying attention to all these actions. He's never seen this guy before, maybe he didn’t pay much attention to him. They seemed to have hit off pretty nice and for some reason he didn't like that at all.
“I finished the morning session earlier than expected so I Ieft early as well. It's 10 minutes to 1 pm, can I stay here waiting for you or do you think you’ll have problems with that guy?”
“With Namjoon? Naah, he’s cool. I'll just tell him to come replace me so I can change clothes and we can go. I’ll be right back.” As said, Y/n went to warn Namjoon and went towards the locker room. She left after 5 minutes, seeing Jungkook waiting for her near the exit. Weird, he usually used to wait for her at the counter where she and Sana usually stay, where Namjoon currently is as well.
“Why are you waiting here? It’s not your normal spot you know? Joon won’t bite you for standing there” Y/n said laughing while approaching Jungkook. Seeing her, he adjusted his coat and smiled, opened the door motioning for her to go through it first, leaving behind her.
“I didn't like him, that's all, so I preferred to wait here. Besides, I didn't want to cause trouble. "
"Why would you cause trouble? It's not like this is the first time you've come in here or waited for me to leave. And what do you mean you didn't like him? Do you know each other by any chance? Where's the Jungkook who says we shouldn't judge a book by it's cover?” Y/n was teasing him and he knew it, answering with a little shut up. About five minutes away down the road there was a small burger place. It wasn't the first time they went there to eat, she loved the burgers there and the space was heaven. When they sat down, the waiter took their order and went to get their drinks, returning two minutes later. They both said thank you, giving some sips on their coca cola’s. Jungkook broke off the silence first.
“So..you and the new guy seemed pretty close. Cool guy hm?”
“His name is Namjoon and yes we got along quite well. You wanna know a fun fact? it was our first day working together officially. He started when I was on vacation and he’s been doing more day shifts with Sana. But yeah, he’s pretty nice. I was surprised, he’s younger than us but he’s pretty mature for his age and he made me laugh a lot today. It made my double shift a lot easier.”
“Ohhh”. Jungkook gave a few sips on his drink. “Glad it only took him a few minutes for you to be able to feel comfortable with him. It took me ages for you to look at my face. No one would tell it was your first time working together. You must have really liked him” Was he jealous?
“There’s nothing going on between us if that’s what you’re trying to know.” Jungkook chocked on his drink and tried to look everywhere but her. “We made a great team today but that’s it. He’s not my type. Besides, Sana has a crush on him. I’d never do that to a friend of mine”. Jungkook understood the hint. When he was about so speak, the waiter came with their orders. He waited for him to leave again so he could say what he wanted.
“I’m sorry” Y/n frowned.
“Sorry? What for?”
"It was bad of me to come between you and Sewoon. It's a long story and I have to tell you all about it, but at the same time I want to respect your space and time. I should have talked to you as soon as I realized something was going on, but I was confused and--” Y/n interrupted him.
“Were you happy? While you were with Sewoon I mean. Did she make you feel happy?” For the first time Jungkook didn't know what to answer because he genuinely didn't know. Looking back, he knows he was never in love with her, it was just a momentary thing. He realized this too late and now he’s paying for it. Y/n noticed his discomfort so she changed the subject. “This place is without a doubt the one with the best burgers. This is my second favorite place, I really enjoy coming here and this is sooooo good or maybe it's just me being so hungry.” She said, laughing at her own words. Jungkook laughed too. One of the things he never felt with Sewoon: lightness and tranquility. With her, everything was always a competition and based on image. Very controlled, very fake, very rehearsed.
During their meal, they talked about basic things related to life, work and dreams, ordered dessert and drank coffee. Jungkook paid their meals and even though Y/n refused he didn't listen, telling her to pay next time. When they got outside, Jungkook took out a cigarette and stayed like that, grabbing it. Y/n looked at him with a questioning face.
"How come I didn’t know you smoked? I mean every time we went out I never noticed. I was so surprised to see you smoking the other day”
"And you said you hadn't noticed me." He said laughing. "I don't smoke much, usually after coffee or when I'm nervous/anxious. I've always tried not to smoke around you because I know you don't like the smell, so I avoid it."
"Is that why you haven't lit your cigarette yet?" Jungkook looked at the hand that had the cigarette between his fingers. "Maybe" he said wrinkling his nose, looking at her with those sweet bambi eyes. God help her because she can't stay away from this man much longer. During their way back to her work she expected him to light the cigarette, but at no point did he do so. She even told him that if he needed to smoke to do it, that she didn't have to be an obstacle simply because she didn't like it, to which he replied that there were priorities and at that moment smoking wasn't one of them. She didn't say anything back but Jungkook noticed the blush on her cheeks and the shy smile on her face.
“I wasn’t happy” Y/n looked at him wondering what he meant by that. He keeps talking. “You asked me if I was happy with Sewoon and my answer is no. Everything was a facade between us and now I can see how dumb I was to call it love. There were no feelings between us, only physical attraction and illusions. I know I messed up bad by getting together with her Y/n and I wish I could take it back. Even though I didn’t know your feelings for me but it was wrong and you have no idea how bad I feel for hurting you, even without meaning to. I’m truly deeply sorry.” Y/n felt so bad for him. It was a mix of emotions and she just wanted to comfort him so she stopped walking, grabbed his arm and pulled him towards her, hugging him tight, whispering
"You're not to blame for anything. If anything I'm to blame because I was the one who didn't speak up." He moved away a little, although they were very close. "We don't control our feelings. It's not your fault that I fell in love with you just as it's not your fault that you felt something for Sewoon, just as I don't blame her for having something with you even though she knew about my feel--” She stopped talking when she saw his shocked face. His face changed drastically when she said Sewoon knew about her feelings, he was angry and you could see it. “Why are you looking at me like that?”
“Sewoon knew? She knew and you still insisted on pushing her to me?!” He was mad.
“What was I supposed to do? You’re my best friend and I was afraid of ruining it with you, then you wanted to meet her and I just couldn’t say no. I knew you two were perfect for each other. I- I didn’t want to be selfish- I -”
“FOR ONCE Y/n. Just for once you should’ve been selfish! Do you have any idea of how hard this has been for me? just to know that you were the one who gave me to her just like that? Was I not enough for you, was that it?”
“Jungkook, no... Wh- What are you saying? I was the one that wasn’t enough for YOU. That’s why I introduced you to her.” At this point Jungkook had already moved away quite a bit, running his hands through his hair.
“You were more than enough Y/n. You just didn't bother to face what was in front of you. Why do you want everything to be given to you? Is it really that hard for you to take control of your life for once? You would’ve avoided so many things Y/n. But you know what? I'm glad it was this way, maybe you and I weren't meant to be after all and we’re just realizing this now.” He sighed. “C’mon, I need to go and you have to go work as well.
The last minutes felt like hours. Y/n hadn't realized how things had gotten to that point, it wasn't possible to understand. She thought it was unfair that he was blaming her for not opening up, even though he was upset, but even so. When they arrived Y/n grabbed his arm once more.
“Jungkook, you can’t leave like this. You can’t drive being all raged up right now. Talk to me, please. I know I should’ve been more honest about things but I was scared and- and it’s not like you gave me any signs of any feelings either. I wanted you to be happy desp-” he released himself from her grip.
“I did gave you signs Y/n! I fucking did! That's why I'm so messed up. I - The only reason why I approached Sewoon in the first place was to have a reaction from you and to know things I knew I couldn't ask you directly.” It was Y/n’s turn to be shocked. What? “I know you avoid relationships and everything related to boys because you’re scared. If I told you how I felt or what I wanted I was scared you'd run away from me like you always do so I kept giving you signs Y/n but I had no reaction from you at all. I knew who Sewoon was from some pictures on your Instagram so when I challenged you to introduce me to her I was testing waters, however, your indifference remained there. It's not just my fault. I took you on dates and you would dismiss it, saying it was just two best friends hanging out. I left work every day and waited for you every day. In my free time I would come here to keep you company and be close to you while I sketch things that I could easily do at home. I have a cafe in front of my store and yet I’m- Always- Here- You can't be that oblivious Y/n. You were the one to put a label on us every goddamn time! You say you’re in love with me? No Y/n you’re not, otherwise you wouldn’t have given up so damn fast and give me to your best friend like a damn trophy the moment she asked. Hurts to know that I didn't deserve a second thought.” Y/n could only look at him. He looked so damn honest and he was so disappointed in her. There was hurt all over his face and that was killing her. She wanted to say something but she couldn’t so she did what she always does: let him go.
She shouldn't have let him go. The rest of the day was fulfilled with anxiety and guilt. Every day she discovered new things and every time she thought her and Jungkook were stepping forward, they took five steps back. She was ruining everything good she had ever dreamed of with her cowardice and lack of communication. She should've gone after him, yet pride got the best of her.
Like always.
After the argument he got in the car and left. At first she tried not to think about it too much, but then she felt the guilt consume her. When she was alone with just a few clients, she sent several texts to Jungkook, apologizing for the way things happened, for them to talk and clear things up once and for all.
No response.
Lisa was going to spend the night out, so once again she found herself alone in that giant apartment. Without thinking she called Jungkook, going straight to voicemail all the six times she tried. The only positive thing was that the next day it'd be her day off and she’d try to talk to Jungkook and clear things up.
Hopefully
The next day Y/n woke up with a huge weight beside her bed. When she opened her eyes she saw Lisa looking at her with a smile from ear to ear.
"Good morning, sunshine. I'm going to do something crazy and I want you to come with me. Hurry up, get even more pretty and let's go. If I’m late and loose my turn I'm going to kill you.”
That's what consisted being friends with Lisa: waiting for her to wake her up at 9:30 in the morning for something that had popped into her mind out of pure spontaneity was just an example of it. She was adventurous and left nothing undone or unsaid because, according to her, you only live once and she would rather regret what she didn't do than everything she tried and failed at.
That's how at 10 in the morning Y/n found herself in front of the tattoo shop where Jungkook works. The only thing she wanted to do was turn around and leave. Gosh, he's been ignoring her attempts to contact him, how could she just walk in there like nothing was happening? She remembers talking to Lisa about getting tattoos. She never had courage for it, besides, Sewoon would tell her all the time they wouldn't suit her, thus she gave up of the idea. Lisa encouraged her, saying that when she did hers Y/n would do it too, but now, her stomach was churning and it seemed like the only thing that was going to come out was vomit. When they arrived at the entrance Y/n stopped.
“I can’t go in with you. I’m sorry”
“What do you mean you can’t? You can’t leave me alone at it. Also, I booked you a session so you have to show up.” Lisa said innocently.
“You knew Jungkook works here, didn't you? You little bi--”
“Hey hey hey. There’s no time for that my friend. We're about to get hotter and have something marked on us. Let’s go.” She was fucked. Lisa linked her arm with her and they walked inside. It was a very peaceful place, with drawings on display, music playing and a diffuser. Of course. Jungkook was addicted to smells and very weird about them too.
The first person they saw was the red-haired lady Y/n had seen close to Jungkook the other day. Seen up close, she was even more stunning. Since Lisa was the one scheduling the session, the red-haired who introduced herself as Athena went to talk to Lisa to see what was she interested in. As she talked to her about the type of tattoo she wanted, presenting some sketches too for her to choose, Y/n looked around, praying she wouldn't see Jungkook while being there.
“What about you? What kind of design did you think of?” She asked Y/n, giving her a genuine smile. "First time? You don't have to stress about it honey, it's most likely for you not to feel a thing"
“Ohh I didn’t think of anything... You see I was totally caught up on this. I didn't know I was coming so I didn'--- "
“Her idea was to make a semicolon on her wrist. Something simple. Y/n, babe, we talked about this. You’re not gonna chicken out right?” Y/n looked at her friend and her answer shocked herself more than anyone else in the room. “Okay. Yes you’re right Lisa. I’m already here so why not?” Lisa opened her mouth, closing it up immediately, smiling. Change comes with little steps.
One step at a time
Athena showed Lisa some ideas until she finally chose what she liked the most. She was getting a sternum tattoo and the sketch Athena did was a piece of art, all those lines and details were just too perfect. She then excused herself to pick something up, disappearing for about 2 minutes, that's all it took for disaster to happen. While they were waiting for her to return they saw Jungkook walk through the door with two coffees. As he placed them on a small table in the entrance, Y/n realizes he didn't see them there, at least not until Athena returned to the room and spoke to him, causing him to look up where they were standing.
"Yooh Jkaay I'm glad you got here. Can you finish this design for me? I have these two pretty ladies here and the client will come by later to see if the drawing is ready but there are some parts I'm having trouble getting right, can you help me with this?” As soon as Jungkook looked up, he met Y/n's gaze, which was already focused on him. He had no reaction. “Hey lover boy. I know they’re pretty but I’m kinda waiting for an answer here”
“Hmmm.. Oh yeah- yes. You can leave it there I’ll be sure to give it a look.” his gaze was intense as it met yours but didn't say anything, as if he didn't know you. Athena thanked him and directed the two of them to a large room. While her friend took her shirt off and laid down on her back, Athena settled everything on the sterilized table. Y/n was inspecting the drawings on the wall, realizing Jungkook's signature on the end of all of them. After placing the artwork where Lisa wanted Athena grabbed the tattoo machine, filling the room with the sounds the needles working and Y/n got scared. She was sure that was gonna hurt. 10 minutes in there's a knock on the door. After Athena replied, Jungkook walked in the room with what Y/n thought was the drawing she asked him to check.
“This is fantastic Kook. If the idiot doesn't like it I'll have it myself. It's incredible." Jungkook smiled and looked at Y/n and then at Athena again. "This is going to be a lot of work Ath. It's full of details and has such a thin line. You have to be careful not to smudge as you clean it."
"I know, I hadn't realized that. It's going to be a challenge but it'll look cool on her body. I still have her friend to tattoo but that’s something small and quick.” Jungkook looked at her way.
“I can do it. I’m free and won’t have any client until noon.” Y/n froze in the moment. No fucking way.
"I can wait. It's okay, really." Jungkook looked at her, picked up some still-closed material and opened the door. "Come on, I'll take care of it." And for a second, Y/n didn't know how to breathe anymore
Jungkook was waiting for her to follow him. When he noticed she wasn't moving at all he called out for her name again. Unconsciously, Y/n ended up getting up and going after him but she didn't leave without looking at the place Athena and Lisa were, noticing the strange expression Athena made. Had Jungkook ever mentioned her?
He went ahead, taking her to a more private room which was on the first floor. It was quite far from all the other rooms and common area. When they arrived there, he motioned for her to sit in front of what she assumed was Jungkook's desk. There were photos of several people, she doesn’t remember meeting any of them until one got her attention: it was a picture of Jungkook and Sewoon together. He was wearing white and she was wearing a black dress. She remembers this day very well- It was in the beginning of their relationship and Sewoon was having a party with her agency and Jungkook was her date, they were both so pretty and cuddly and looked so into each other. Jungkook was treating her like a princess and it was the first time Y/n felt anger towards her best friend. She cried all night after getting home, spying Sewoon's instagram and all the love-dovey pics she was posting. What a night
He sat on the chair in front of Y/n, behind his desk to sketch what she wanted to tattoo when he noticed where her eyes were wandering at, grabbing the picture and putting it in a drawer. She didn’t say anything, looking everywhere but him.
“According to Athena you wanted just a simple semicolon on your wrist, right? So I did sketch want you wanted but added something more. If you don’t like it or want it you can say it and I'll do just what you initially wanted okay?” Jungkook showed her a design of a semicolon with a butterfly wing around it. It was honestly so beautiful. She remembers saying to him one time she identified herself as a butterfly, because no matter the situation she was going through she could always adapt herself and learn from it. Did he remember that?
“I- I love it Jungkook. This is so pretty and personal, I- Thank you, this is amazing. I’ll have it that way”
“Are you sure? It’s gonna be there forever”
“I’m 100% sure. Start this before I lose my courage” Jungkook gave her a nod, taking the paper and putting it on her skin with some wet liquid. He could tell she was nervous so he told her when he was about to start. “If you need me to stop let me know. We have time okay?” Y/n nodded
“You have amazing sketches here. Not that I didn't know but you're super talented, I feel grateful that it’s you doing this on me. When you become a world-renowned artist I'm gonna brag about it, I’m already warning you.” After their fight yesterday, Y/n was trying to ease the tension between them but he was making it hard. She missed Jungkook and wanted to clear things up with him. She was done with all the confusion and misunderstandings, however, Jungkook remained in silence. “Please Jungkook I’m trying. I miss you. I miss us. I don’t even understand what happened yesterday and I’m sorry for hurting you in any way. I’m tired of this! You're driving me crazy by leaving me in this void. I'm not like this Jk, you know it. I don't care about boys but just the thought of losing you is killing me. That's the effect you have on me!” He wasn’t paying attenton to her at all, or maybe he was just ignoring her on purpose, either ways she was getting more and more frustrated and did her best to keep her tears to herself since she couldn't get out of there. With her free hand, she surreptitiously wiped her eyes with her shirt sleeve. What she didn’t know was that Jungkook was paying attention to all her movements.
“I’m sorry. I talk a lot with my clients for them to relax a bit but with you... I feel like if I talk I'm not gonna be able to concentrate and I don’t want to mess this up. You make me nervous just with your presence. That's the effect you have on me Y/n. When it comes to you I can't separate things”
"I could’ve waited for Athena to do it. Actually I think it’d be better, given the situation we are at right now. Damn Jungkook I put my guard down for you and now you're treating me like this, what for? You criticize me for avoiding things, yet you're doing the exact same thing, it's not fair. You can't say whatever you want, make me feel bad and then do the same to me. I know I messed up somewhere. I know I should've been braver, but you are such a special and necessary part of my life that I was afraid of you not feeling the same way, could break everything we built so far, which is stupid right now because that's exactly what happened. There is no way we can go back to what we were before” By the time she ended her speech, Jungkook was already putting the final touches on the tattoo, being done with it. Both of them remained silenced until he had picked up the tattoo protection to place it around her skin.
“Let’s do it then. Let’s put everything on the table and be honest because honestly I can’t handle this anymore too. Where do you want me to start? From the day we first met? I had the shittiest day ever it was raining so much. That’s what made me stop at the coffee shop. Then you looked absolutely gorgeous standing there looking at me and when you noticed I was staring back and pretended to have lost an earring, that caught my attention, how innocent and naive you looked. Then I started to get to know you better and it was it for me. It was so hard not to fall for you. I kept taking you out to places but you always friendzoned me somehow, I would tell you about non existing dates to see your reaction but you always had the same posture, I came to terms that it was a one-sided thing. Then Sewoon happened. When you introduced us, honestly I was very straightforward with her. I asked her about you, if you liked someone if you ever talked about me, you know, something to give me hope. But the answers she gave me weren’t the ones I expected to hear and I was so disappointed.” Y/n's system was soon on alert.
“What- - What did she tell you?” Jungkook took a while to answer which was making her impatient. She was about to lose her mind.
“She told me you were seeing someone and it was getting serious. That she was sorry but wouldn’t get in the way. After that, we kept talking a little more and when I was about to leave she was the one asking me to go out with her. Just a simple date so I said yes, maybe that would help me take my mind of you. Then things happened and time skipped and we broke up and yeah I didn’t take that well because no one likes to feel they failed at something, but I’m so glad we did. We didn’t align in anything, we fought a lot behind doors. Then came the party you and Sewoon went. I was already there remember? You looked so sad and the first thing I remembered was the guy you were supposed to be seeing. I was hoping you were long gone with the dude but the way you were acting and how you were talking to me ended up confirming Sewoon’s words about you and that special someone and I--- I lost my mind.”
“So you ended up kissing Sewoon to relieve all that anger, right?” She got up and slowly turned her way towards the door when Jungkook grabbed her arm.
“That was a terrible mistake. As soon as I realized what I did I stepped back immediately. After that I looked everywhere for you, but I didn’t found you. When I did, you told me you were leaving with someone and that was it. I tried talking to you all night but your phone was either out of reach or you wouldn’t respond.” There's this awkward silence until one of them spok again.
“That night broke me Jungkook. You broke me. I was there, I was hurt and you noticed something was up but all your eyes were looking at was Sewoon. I wished so many times it was me you were kissing, holding, touching. I'd see you with her and all I imagined was us. That was so toxic of me, that's why I left, because I couldn't see you leave with her knowing the next day I'd know everything about it."
They didn't realize how close they were until they felt each other's breath hitting their faces. Y/n doesn't know when things changed, but since the night at the restaurant there is something that pushes them towards each other. She gets a strange feeling in her belly, in her chest… down there. It's strange, she never felt something like this for anyone and it was confusing her. She knows if he asked her something she'd do it on the spot. It seems like Jungkook could feel the tension either because the hand that was previously on her arm was now around her waist, while the other caressed the right side of her face tucking some hair behind her ear. It was then that she felt the distance between them getting shorter and shorter, when all of a sudden they heard someone knock on the door, opening it, revealing Athena's slightly confused figure.
"Sorry. I didn't mean to interrupt, I heard voices and came to check if you were okay, as it's not usual for you to bring anyone here. I-- hmm- just wanted to let you know that I finished Lisa's piece and we're downstairs drinking some coffee and talking in case you'd want to join us when you finished whatever you were.... doing, but no pressure, make yourself comfortable, I didn't see anything. Use protection, okay? You still have a life to enjoy before any surprises." Jungkook made a desperate sound looking at Athena and throwing something at her
"Don't be an idiot, it's not what it looks like and you know it. Anyone hearing you talk would think you see me doing a lot of dirty things here. Work is work and I take it very seriously." Jungkook paused, glacing at Y/n, just to speak again. " We'll meet you downstairs in 10 minutes, I just need to finish explaining how she should handle this in the next few days." Athena hummed, giving them a nod before leaving. However, they heard her tell Lisa that - they were busy and would probably take longer to joy them- They knew she spoke loud for them to hear. Jungkook went to a drawer and took out a cream, handing it to Y/n.
"For the next three days you must avoid direct sunlight on the area. This protection should last for 24 hours, then you can remove it in the shower or by wetting the area with warm water, drying it well and applying the cream two or three times a day. If you feel any itching, that's normal, but if you see red spots around it let me know so I can check it out. But in principle, everything should be fine." Y/n nodded and thanked him, grabbing her wallet, heading towards the door but stopped halfway and turned around, facing Jungkook.
"Did you sleep with Sewoon here?"those words came out faster than Y/n could control. Why the hell did she ask that. Jungkook wasn't expecting that either, because his mouth opened and closed several times, not knowing what to answer, a little embarrassed. This gave Y/n a feeling that maybe the answer was yes. "Never mind, sorry, I don't know why I asked this. Forget it." She turned around again ready to open the door. She was about to do so when a hand above her head slammed the door shut again with a bang.
"Why do you always put me in difficult positions? It's past and - aiish- No Y/n, I didn't. This is my office, my space, my privacy, I don't bring anyone for anything more than work, not even Sewoon. This wasn't exactly the space she liked to frequent the most" Y/n nodded.
"I don't know why I asked, I'm sorry. Being here knowing that you and her were- you know- that would be just weird and gross. I mean, who knows what kind of "things" would be around here and-- Okay, nevermind. How about we go down? They're waiting for us and will start thinking stuff about us being here."
"So? Let them think what they want to think.. I'm not bothered at all. Are you?" When Y/n was about to answer, the door opened without warning revealing an excited Athena again, but she didn't realize that when she opened the door she had hit Y/n with it. "Shit Ath be careful. Knock before coming in. Jesus"
"Dude, I don't know what the situation is between you two, but behind the door is definitely not the best place. Been there, done that. It's interesting but not comfortable. Also, why are you so bothered by the knocking thing all of a sudden? That was never a rule. Just put something on the door handle to when you're busy doing other things. That's what I do with your broth-"
"Aiiiishh Athena. I'm not really interested in what you and my brother do or don't do, How disgusting. We were just talking! Stop being nosy and up on my ass. What's the matter with you today? why are you always coming here thought? You never care when I’m upstairs”
“Well you’re always by yourself, there’s nothing for me to pry on. Either way, I came here to tell you that the client you had for noon called to inform he’s no longer able to come. His wife went into labour, so you’re free for now”
“Well at least is for some good reasons. I’ll call him up later to reschedule.” Athena would steal glances from Jungkook to Y/n with a funny look, trying to see something she could pick up to tease them more “Anyway, I think I’ll grab lunch with Lisa. She’s pretty rad. Do you wanna come?” It was Y/n’s turn to speak
“I actually have some things to get done, but you go and have fun. Maybe we can grab a coffee later?” All she wanted was to run. After that stupid question she made she just wanted somewhere to hide.
“Of course, just give me your number. It’ll be easier” they both switched numbers and Athena gave a final goodbye to her, giving her a hug and winking to Jungkook, whispering behave before shutting the door completely. What the hell.
“So... The girls are leaving and you probably have things to do too so I should get going as well. I have to meet up with Joon, he asked me if I could stop by so hmmm, yeah. Thanks for your time. If - if I have any questions I’ll pass by. Thank you once again." This was her cue to leave. Uttering those words she was out of the door, running down the stairs getting closer and closer to the main door but when she reached it, it was locked.
Goddamn it!
She was thinking about calling Lisa to turn around and wait for her when she heard footsteps behind her. She didn't dare to look back but in question of minutes she felt Jungkook's chest against her back, hearing him whisper
"Why are you always in such a rush when it comes to me? What are you so afraid of?" Jungkook turned her around to face him. "Let yourself go Y/n. For me, for you, for us. We've been over the friendship thing for a while now, don't you think? No matter how much you try to deny it, the attraction is here" He was so close to her she could feel his heartbeat.
"I can't" She whispered. "Everytime I look at you I get myself reminded of how you used to be with Sewoon. There was her before me and I can't compare. I can't erase that image of my head. I- I want to forget, but I can't"
"I'll help you forget. Let me help you forget, but mainly let me show you how there's no comparison between you and her" They were so close and there was so much desire so she let herself go and feel all she wanted, grabbing Jungkook by the hem of his grey shirt and closing the distance between them. The response to the kiss was automatic. Y/n felt Jungkook kiss her back as if he had already been waiting for this moment. Slowly at first, like they were testing each other, until he slowly pushed her against the door, placing his hand behind her neck, deepening the kiss. She never had a kiss like that. At this point she felt the entire zoo inside her and she was aware of everything around her: of how Jungkook's hands were hovering over her body, how their mouths were thirsty for each other, the way their bodies were so close yet so far.
It was just them and their desire for each other. And at that moment that was all that mattered.

not proof read players i shall do that tomorrow morning on corporate time
It was an unusual Saturday night for Aaron. The house was quiet. Missing Jack’s antics – he was spending the weekend camping with Jessica and Roy – and missing you.
No sweet perfume lingering in the air, no soft humming as you loaded and unloaded the dishwasher, a task Aaron had insisted you didn’t have to worry about because you were the nanny, not the maid. But you never listened. Just like you never let a pile of laundry sit unfolded or a toy stay out of place for too long.
Aaron had never given much thought to the little details of domestic life before, but you had a way of making them feel... noticeable. You were woven into the fabric of his home in ways he hadn’t anticipated.
The quiet should’ve been a relief. No FBI cases waiting for him, no screaming unsub demanding his attention, no late-night paperwork eating away at his free time. He should’ve been able to enjoy the peace.
Not when he knew where you were tonight. Not when he could still hear your voice in his head, casual and offhanded, telling him about the birthday party you’d been invited to. About how the birthday girl’s idea of a good time was getting steaming drunk and finding a guy to make out with.
Aaron had brushed it off at the time, forcing himself to nod, to keep his reaction neutral. It wasn’t his place to feel anything about your plans – he knew that. But the thought of you out there, surrounded by strangers, drinking, laughing, maybe kissing someone who didn’t know you the way he did...
He let out a slow breath, running a hand over his face as if that could wipe away the thought.
It didn’t.
With a quiet sigh, he turned to pour himself a glass of bourbon, the rich honey liquid swirling in the dim light. Even that was a reminder of you. A gift you had given him on your one-year anniversary of working for him and Jack, wrapped neatly with a note that had read:
For the best boss ever – because even superheroes deserve a drink.
He had smiled when he first read it, tucking the note away in his desk drawer instead of throwing it out. He told himself it was because Jack might want to look back on it one day.
Now, as he took a slow sip, the warmth spreading through his chest, he wondered if that had ever really been the reason.
His hand drifted to his pocket before he could stop himself, fingers curling around his phone. He pulled it out, the screen glowing softly. His thumb hovered over the familiar green app, hesitation flickering through him.
He shouldn’t.
He knew he shouldn’t.
But the temptation was there, gnawing at the edges of his restraint. You had been sharing your location with him since you started working for him and Jack – your idea, not his. Just in case, you had said with a smile, if I’m out with Jack and you can’t reach me, at least you’ll know where we are.
It had made sense. It was practical.
But Jack wasn’t with you tonight, and here he was, opening the app regardless.
His job had shown him first-hand what kind of vultures lurked in the world – predators who waited for the right moment, who preyed on people like you. People who were too kind, too trusting. People who laughed freely, who lit up a room without realising it, who believed the best in others even when they didn’t deserve it.
He told himself that was why he checked. That was why his eyes scanned the map, searching for the little blue dot that told him where you were.
A bar downtown.
Of course.
Aaron sighed, setting the phone down on the counter like it burned him.
You were fine. You were an adult. You were allowed to go out, to drink, to do whatever you wanted.
But the thought of you – tipsy, surrounded by strangers, maybe some guy with his hand on the small of your back, leaning in too close – made his stomach twist in a way he didn’t want to analyse.
He braced his hands on the counter, exhaling through his nose, willing himself to let it go.
Then his phone buzzed with a message from you.
Having fun?
He frowned, reading it twice, his grip tightening around the device. A second later, another message popped up.
Wait. Don’t answer that. I know you’re home. You don’t have fun.
His lips twitched despite himself. Then another message came.
I can hear you rolling your eyes from here.
This time, he didn’t fight the smile.
Aaron leaned against the counter, staring at your words, his fingers hovering over the keyboard. He should tell you to be safe. He should remind you to call if you needed anything.
Instead, he typed:
How many drinks have you had?
The response was instant.
Not enough yet.
He let a breath out, his thumb tapping idly against the screen.
Pacing yourself, I hope.
The read receipt popped up but no response came. His jaw tightened. You always responded quickly, even when you were busy, even when you were teasing him, there was never a delay.
A minute passed. Then another.
Aaron forced himself to set the phone down, crossing his arms over his chest as he stared at the darkened screen, willing it to light up again. He was overthinking it. You were probably distracted, mid-conversation, laughing at some joke he wouldn’t understand. You were fine.
He did his best to keep busy for the rest of the evening, but his mind kept drifting back to his phone. Every so often, he checked it – switching between your last text and the location app.
You hadn’t responded.
You hadn’t moved.
He told himself not to read into it. Maybe your phone had died. Maybe you left it in your bag somewhere and hadn’t checked it. Maybe you were just having fun.
Still, the glass of bourbon remained untouched beside him, the usual pull of exhaustion never quite setting in. It wasn’t until the clock crept past one in the morning that he finally let himself lie down on the couch, forcing his eyes shut.
Just an hour, he told himself. Then he’d check again.
He didn’t remember falling asleep, but when he woke up, his neck stiff and the room bathed in darkness, the first thing he did was grab his phone.
3:27 AM.
The uneasy weight in his stomach turned into a knot as he swiped open the location app.
Still at the bar.
He frowned, sitting up fully. A quick Google search confirmed what he already knew – the bar closed at 3 AM. So why the hell were you still there?
His pulse pounded in his ears, a dull thrum beneath his skin. A dozen possibilities ran through his mind, each one worse than the last. Maybe your phone had died. Maybe you were waiting for a ride. Maybe –
Maybe something was wrong.
You should’ve left by now. You should be home.
Before he even registered the thought, he was on his feet, grabbing his keys from the counter. He barely remembered locking the door behind him, barely noticed the cool night air as he climbed into his car. His hands were steady as he punched the bar’s address into the GPS, but his chest was tight, his breath slow and measured in a way that only happened when he was forcing himself to stay calm.
He wasn’t overreacting. This wasn’t just some irrational impulse. Because if there was even the slightest chance that you needed him – if you were alone, stranded, or worse – then sitting back and doing nothing wasn’t an option.
Aaron gripped the wheel tighter as he pulled onto the street, scanning the sidewalk. The bar had emptied out, its neon sign flickering against the damp pavement, and the only movement came from a few stragglers loitering near the entrance, voices loud and slurred.
Then he saw you.
Sitting on the curb, legs stretched out, leaning back on your hands like you didn’t have a care in the world.
Absolutely shit-faced.
His jaw tensed as he threw the car into park, cutting the engine.
You were smiling at something in the distance, your head titling slightly, eyes unfocused, lost in a world far from this dimly lit street.
The streetlights bathed you in a soft, golden glow, casting shadows over the flush in your cheeks, the curve of your shoulders, the bare skin catching the night air. You looked otherworldly – untouchable, ethereal, like something that didn’t belong in a place like this.
And yet, here you were.
Aaron swallowed hard, dragging his gaze away, forcing himself to find something – anything – else to focus on. He had no business looking at you like this. No business letting his thoughts wander into places they didn’t belong.
But it was impossible not to.
The hem of your dress barely skimmed the tops of your thighs, fabric pooling over your legs that seemed long and endless in a way that felt entirely unfair. He had never seen this much of you before – never had to resist the temptation, to let his eyes trace the lines of your body, the soft slope of your knee, the stretch of smooth skin illuminated by neon light.
And God help him, it did something to him. Something that should never be spoken aloud.
You never dressed conservatively for his sake, you dressed for yourself. Some days you showed more skin than others, but even then, the most he’d ever been allowed to see were glimpses – your ankles peeking beneath the hem of a sundress, the curve of your calf when you curled your legs beneath you on the couch.
But tonight? Tonight, he was drunk too. Just on something else entirely.
Not appropriate. Not his concern. Not when he was supposed to be mad at you.
But then you tilted your head up at him, squinting slightly, as if trying to make out his face through a fog. “You look an awful lot like my boss,” you mused, shading your eyes with one hand like there was a blinding sun overhead. “He’s very handsome.”
Aaron dragged a hand down his face, inhaling through his nose. You were drunker than he thought.
“Alright, that’s enough. Get up.”
You hummed, tilting your head as if considering the request, then stretched your legs out further, the movement drawing his attention to just how much skin was on display.
"Mmm, I don’t think so," you sighed, leaning back on your palms. "I’m enjoying the view."
“The view of what exactly?” He looked across the street where there was nothing but darkened storefronts.
A slow, knowing smile spread across your lips. "You, sir."
Aaron stilled.
You squinted up at him, tapping a finger against your chin. "Do you like being called sir?"
"What?"
You waved a hand, bracelets jingling with the motion, as if you were letting him in on some great secret. "I was talking to this guy at the bar earlier," you began, voice light, careless, like the words weren’t about to drive him insane. "He was telling me how he made his ex-girlfriend’s call him as sir – you know, when they did things…without clothes."
Your name left his lips, almost a warning but if anything it only amused you.
“It’s probably something I could get behind."
Aaron’s teeth clenched.
Enough.
“Get up.”
You pouted like a spoiled thing, tilting your head. "You’re no fun at all," you huffed, dragging out the words like a complaint. Then, as if your mouth didn’t already have him questioning his patience, you added, "You know, a few Sex on the Beaches would cheer you up immensely."
Aaron didn’t take the bait, didn’t argue, didn’t roll his eyes. Instead, he crouched down, hands settling on your waist, fingers pressing against warm skin that he should not be noticing. He ignored the way something turned inside of him when he lifted you easily, the way his grip instinctively tightened to steady you.
"Have you ever had sex on the beach?"
His hands froze just for a second. His fingers stilled against the fabric of your dress as he tugged it down, as if correcting some mistake that should have never happened in the first place. A correction, a reset.
But the damage was done.
You looked up at him, slow, expectant, lips curved like you were waiting for something.
“Get in the car.”
“That’s not an answer but I will get in the car regardless because it’s cold.”
Aaron swallowed, his throat dry as he watched you turn toward the vehicle. You walked unsteadily, your balance off, your steps slow. And he followed, forcing himself to keep his gaze fixed on the back of your head.
Not the dress. Not your legs. Not the bare skin he’d already seen too much of tonight.
But as if the universe hadn’t tested him enough, as if fate was sitting back and laughing at him, just as you reached the door, he stepped forward to open it for you at the exact moment your purse slipped from your fingers, falling to the ground.
Without hesitation, you bent down to retrieve it right as Aaron was behind you.
His jaw locked so tight it ached.
He whipped his gaze away immediately, staring hard at the sky, at the roof of the car, at anything that wasn’t the colour of your underwear.
This was some kind of punishment. It had to be.
"You have got to be kidding me," he muttered under his breath, his fingers flexing at his sides, forcing himself to stay rooted in place instead of stepping back like a man guilty of something.
Oblivious to his suffering, you took your time grabbing your purse, steadying yourself on the car as you straightened. You glanced back at him over your shoulder, blinking innocently "What was that?"
He dragged a hand down his face before stepping forward and reaching past you to yank the car door open. “Nothing. Please, just get in the car.”
For once, you didn’t argue. You turned, dropping into the seat with no grace and all recklessness, your legs folding awkwardly, your limbs not quite cooperating with the rest of you. A quiet oof left your lips as you settled before Aaron shut the door.
He took a second longer than necessary to collect himself, inhaling deeply before making his way to the driver’s side.
By the time he slid in, his hands were already working his quarter-zip sweater free, the fabric bunching as he pulled it over his head, revealing the plain white t-shirt beneath. He always ran warm – too warm sometimes – but tonight felt different. Without a word, he passed the sweater to you.
You blinked down at it. "What’s this for?"
Aaron kept his eyes ahead as he started the engine, adjusting the car’s heating. “You’re cold.”
You said nothing as you shifted beside him, pulling it over your head, the sleeves hanging loose around your wrist. You let out a small, content sigh, curling into the fabric like it was the cosiest thing in the world.
Aaron risked a glance as he drove. Big mistake.
You were looking at him – right at him – chin tucked into the collar, eyes warm and drowsy, but not nearly as unfocused as they should have been. No, there was something else in your gaze, something aware, something playful.
“Are you warm enough?”
You sighed, stretching slightly, shifting in your seat in a way that only made this worse for him. “I am indeed. How did you know I was here?”
“You share your location with me.”
You gasped theatrically, twisting in your seat, attempting to tuck your legs underneath you despite the seatbelt digging into your skin. "Aaron Hotchner," you accused, voice full of scandal, "were you stalking me during my non-working hours?"
Aaron stopped at a red light, his focus shifting to you once more, scanning your face, searching for any signs of distress beneath all the teasing and drunken charm. “You were still at a bar that had closed. I just wanted to make sure you were alright.”
You grinned, leaning your head against the seat, voice loose and lazy. "I am more than okay, boss. I’ve had like thirteen strawberry daiquiris, and I saved all the colourful umbrellas too. For my scrapbook – look!"
You reached for your purse, the movement uncoordinated but enthusiastic. The small bag sat on your lap, and when you flipped it open, the contents spilled into clear view – too clear.
Aaron’s gaze moved down instinctively.
And then his knuckles went bone white.
Cigarettes. A pack tucked neatly inside and several golden foil wrappers glinting beneath the streetlights.
His fingers clenched the steering wheel too tightly, his stomach twisting with something he couldn’t immediately name. His heartbeat, slow and steady just moments ago, kicked up and not in a way he liked.
“You smoke?”
You blinked, glancing down at your purse, then back at him confused. “Huh?”
He didn’t look at you – he looked at the evidence sitting in your lap. "Since when do you smoke?"
You followed his line of sight. "Oh!" You let out a bright, almost delighted laugh, completely unaware of the storm brewing next to you. "No, no, no! Those aren’t mine! I – oh my God, this isn’t even my purse!"
Aaron didn’t move, didn’t blink.
You giggled, digging through it with renewed amusement. "I was wondering why my lipstick wasn’t in here! This explains it. Me and Lily must’ve switched at some point." You lifted the pack of cigarettes between two fingers. "She’s the smoker. And a terrible one at that. She always has to borrow lighters."
He still hadn’t breathed.
You tilted your head at him, then followed his line of sight back to the golden wrappers glinting between the folds of fabric.
Your brows furrowed before you rolled your eyes. "Oh, relax, dad. Those aren’t mine either. Lily’s got a very active love life and clearly she came prepared tonight."
Aaron’s grip on the wheel didn’t loosen. Not even a little. Not when you were watching him like that – lips twitching, barely holding back a grin, fully aware of what you were doing. Then, as if you hadn’t already pushed him far enough, you plucked one of the golden squares between two fingers, twirling it slowly, letting it catch the light.
"What?" you murmured, feigning innocence. "You want to borrow one?"
He turned his head, just enough to meet your gaze, just enough to silently tell you to stop before he lost whatever fraying patience he had left. “Put it away.”
"Oh," you sang, drawing the word out as you tucked the packet back into Lily’s purse, "you’re one of those."
"One of what?"
Your lips curled. “Like it raw. I spoke to another guy, and I think they call it a breeding kink these days.”
Aaron nearly slammed the breaks. His head snapped toward you so fast he almost gave himself whiplash. For a brief, terrifying moment, he thought he must have misheard you – because there was no way you had just said that.
No way.
But there you were, sitting in his passenger seat, swaddled in his sweater, smelling like alcohol and trouble, blinking at him with wide, deceptively innocent eyes, looking at him like he was the most entertaining thing in the world to you right now.
“You’re going to regret saying all of this tomorrow morning.”
“Yeah.” You nodded, as if you’d already accepted your fate. “I figured I was already out of a job when I asked you if you’d ever had sex on the beach.”
“You’re not out of a job,” he muttered, because he could never fire you. Never get rid of you. Never let you slip out of his orbit, no matter how much you tested him.
“That’s a shame.”
His brow furrowed. “Why is that a shame?”
“Cause then I’d have an excuse,” you hummed, your voice quieter now, softer, like you were sinking into the weight of the alcohol.
“An excuse for what?”
You turned your head, blinking over at him, your eyes softer now, so much softer than the teasing from before. "For making things messy."
Aaron gripped the wheel tighter. "What does that mean?"
You sighed dramatically, stretching your legs out as if this conversation wasn’t about to end him. "It means," you said languidly, like you were talking to yourself more than him, "if I wasn’t your nanny, if I didn’t work for you, if there weren’t so many reasons why this would be a bad idea, I’d let myself say it."
“Say what?”
“You’re smart, Aaron,” you murmured, your voice slow, dragging over the syllables like you were fighting sleep.
His chest felt too tight.
And when you smiled at him – sleepy, real, unguarded – Aaron thought he might actually break.
"You know what.” Your voice barely above a whisper.
He said nothing, the only sounds filling the space between you were the hum of the engine and the occasional sigh from your side of the car for the rest of the journey. You weren’t fully asleep, not yet, but your body had started to melt into the seat, exhaustion creeping in despite your best efforts.
When Aaron pulled into his driveway, he shifted into park and glanced at you, debating whether you were even awake enough to get inside on your own. But the moment the car stopped, you stirred, blinking blearily at the windshield before frowning.
"This isn’t home."
Aaron’s stomach twisted because of course you didn’t see it that way. Even though you were there more than he was. Even though the house felt different when you were gone. Even though he thought of you as home.
He tried to push the thought aside. “Well, do you have your keys since you swapped bags with your friend?”
You frowned again, like you were trying to process his words but they were taking longer than usual to land. Then, after a moment, you groaned, slumping against the seat. "Shit. You’re right."
“Come on. Let’s get you inside.”
He stepped out first, rounding the car, but before he could even reach for your door handle, you had already pushed it open – or tried to.
Because your coordination was horrible.
The door swung open too fast and you nearly followed it.
Aaron caught you instantly, his reflexes sharp despite the late hour and lack of light.
“Easy, angel,” he cooed, the words slipping out before he could think better of them. They were gentle. Not the way he spoke to his agents. Not the way he spoke to anyone else.
His arm stayed secure around your waist, keeping you upright, while his other hand reached past you to shut the door.
And that was when you did it. Without thinking, without hesitation, you rested your hand on his chest as you leaned into him like you belonged there.
And damn it, it felt like you did.
He guided you carefully toward the front door, his hand never leaving your waist. This wasn’t the first time he’d led someone inside after a long night, but it was the first time he’d felt like this.
Once inside, he lowered you onto the couch, easing you down with so much care, like you were something fragile, something precious.
“Stay here.”
Aaron disappeared down the hall, moving toward the laundry room where he knew you kept a spare change of clothes for the nights you spent with Jack.
He was back in the living room within seconds, noticing the way you had kicked off your heels and curled yourself onto the couch.
Handing you the bundle of clothes, his fingers brushed yours for half a second, and he hated the way it made something in his chest tremble.
“Thank you.”
"Just get changed."
A sleepy grin tugged at your lips. "Yes, sir."
He clenched his jaw, ignored you, and turned toward the kitchen – because standing there any longer, watching you wrapped up in his sweater, looking at him like that, wasn’t something he could afford to do.
He heard you shifting behind him, the rustle of fabric, and then –
"Aaron?"
He stopped mid-step.
There was something different in your voice now, something smaller, something hesitant.
When he turned, he found you still in your dress, your arms wrapped loosely around yourself, his sweater now abandoned on the sofa.
"The zip." You turned your back to him. "Could you just undo it, please?" Your fingers pointed toward the back of your dress, granting him another view of something he had tried all night not to think about.
Wordlessly, he stepped forward, his fingers hovering briefly before carefully gathering your hair and sweeping it over your shoulder, baring the zipper to him completely.
He gripped the delicate thing between his fingers, and for a moment, he wasn’t sure if he had imagined the way you shivered beneath his touch. But as he pulled the zipper down, revealing the smooth expanse of your back, his suspicion was confirmed when he saw the goosebumps rise along your spine.
When the zipper reached the base of your spine, he let go, immediately stepping back, needing distance.
“You’re all set.”
You didn’t move right away, standing there with your back still to him, the dress loose around your frame, his sweater still abandoned on the sofa. Then, after a moment of stillness, you turned your head just slightly, just enough to glance at him over your shoulder.
"Thanks."
Aaron didn’t respond. He just turned and made it into the kitchen successfully this time, moving on autopilot, bracing his hands on the counter.
He was going to make you something to help with the inevitable headache you’d have in the morning, then he was going to go to bed, and by tomorrow, this would just be one more thing he’d force himself to forget.
By the time he had the bottle of painkillers and a glass of water in his hands, you were quiet. The kind of quiet that made him pause, his footsteps slowing as he neared the hallway.
He hesitated, listening carefully, trying to gauge if you had finished changing.
“Are you decent?” he called out.
“…Define decent.”
“Just tell me if I can come in.”
Another pause, then the sound of shifting fabric before you finally replied, "Yes, you can come in, Hotchner."
He stepped into the living room to find you sitting on the couch, legs tucked beneath you, your hair messy from the night.
“Take these, they should help with the headache.”
You took the glass, cradling it between your hands, but instead of drinking, you chewed the inside of your cheek.
"Is it a bad time to tell you that I’m a throw-up kind of drunk and not a headache kind of one?"
Aaron stared at you, expression completely and utterly blank. He’d dealt with some of the worst criminals the world had to offer, but nothing could have prepared him for you in this state.
“Are you going to be sick now?”
You tilted your head slightly, eyes unfocused but still completely earnest. "I don’t know… I don’t like thinking about it because then I get anxious, and then the anxiety makes me feel even worse." You frowned, looking up at him like you’d just personally inconvenienced his entire life. “I am so sorry.”
He sighed, crouching in front of you, resting his forearms on his knees. He should have been exasperated. He should have been frustrated. But in that moment all he felt was patience – one that seemed to only exist when it came to you.
"You don’t have to apologize," he assured you. "Let’s get you upstairs and closer to the bathroom."
Your lips parted before curving into a teasing smile. "You’re going to make me sleep in the bathroom?"
Aaron huffed a breath, shaking his head. "No. You can have my bed for the night. It’s more comfortable than being down here, and it’s less of a trip if you need to be sick."
You blinked at him, as if processing the words in slow motion. Then your smile softened. “You’re the best,” you whispered.
He tried to ignore the way those three simple words nestled themselves somewhere they shouldn’t.
"Come on, let’s get you to bed."
He helped you up carefully, keeping his hands steady as you swayed, still a little off balance from the alcohol. You leaned into him instinctively, far too trusting, and he had to remind himself that you weren’t thinking straight, that this could mean nothing in the morning.
By the time you made it to his room, you were half-asleep on your feet, blinking slowly as you took in the space around you.
Aaron pulled back the covers, gesturing for you to get in. "Go on. You need to sleep."
You hesitated, standing there, fingers toying with the hem of the oversized t-shirt you wore. “Will you stay? Just until I fall asleep?”
He should have said no. Should have reminded you that you were drunk, that this wasn’t a good idea, that you wouldn’t even remember asking in the morning.
But he didn’t.
Instead, he nodded.
"Okay."
You smiled sleepily, gratefully, before climbing into bed, curling up under the blankets.
Aaron sat down in the chair by the bedside, keeping some distance, his hands clasped loosely in his lap. For a while, neither of you spoke.
Then, just as your breathing started to slow, just as sleep almost took you, you mumbled, "You always take care of me."
Aaron let a breath out, watching as your body finally relaxed, as you drifted off entirely, safe and warm in his bed.
He wished he didn’t want to.
But he always would.

In the beginning Loop tells Siffrin that he can tell the party about the loops. There's nothing stopping them after all.
In act 3, Loop asks again, will you tell your party about the loops?
For both the answer is the same. They can handle it. Why would his party need to know?
In act 4, Loop doesn't ask Siffrin if he'll tell the party. The answer to that is pretty clear, but the thing is they also don't ask a different critical question: why won't Siffrin tell the party about the loops?
Except. There is an equivalent question.
"What will you do after the loops?"
When Siffrin is asked this, the screen goes dark. They blank, more than that, it may be an answer on its own. There is nothing beyond the loops.
Loop just remarks, "something for you to think about." Notably Siffrin doesn't comment on any of this at all. They don't want to think about it.
The answer to "why don't you tell them about the loops" is the same as "what are you going to do after the loops" in a way.
Telling the others about the loops means they may end, worse it may mean they hate Siffrin. And Siffrin can't let his family hate him. Because beyond the loops, beyond this journey, Siffrin has nothing. There is nothing for him to look forward to other than these moments again and again.
So Siffrin can't tell their family about the loops because if they know, everything could end. And what else do they have other than this half-life?
#isat#isat spoilers#siffrin isat#loop isat#also bonus: loop knowing why siffrin cant ask so they ask a question that makes siffrin think about why instead of asking directly#in stars and time

SPOILER EPISODE 13
make yourself a cup of tea, you won't be disappointed.
We land a contract to plan a graduation party for the daughter of a prominent man. Amanda is in charge of the file with us because she went to the same prestigious school as the client. Amanda is super-stressed as the month goes by. During a burger outing, a fast-food manager recognizes Amanda, who is forced to confess that she worked there for 3 months because her father wanted to teach her about “real life” (at first she acts as if she doesn't know the fast-food employee).
But we learn the big lie, the drama, I mean, the TEA at the last Zoom meeting with the student's father, that after doing some research he's canceling the contract because he's discovered that Amanda didn't go to the prestigious school
((N.B.: Some locations and scenes may change depending on the character you'r lunch with. The moment of revelation took place in the meeting room instead of in the park for some!))
Indeed, he has discovered that Amanda is not on the list of students at the prestigious school. Everyone is shocked, and Devon explains that he was unaware of the lie and didn't check to see if what Amanda had put on her Personal Resume was true, preferring to trust.
The client, disappointed by this lack of seriousness, prefers not to work with us anymore and we lose the contract.
Amanda tearfully reveals to the whole team that she has never been rich. But she was rich for a while. Her parents worked for a big company, but her father made a bad choice and lost the company a lot of money. So he was fired, along with Amanda's mother. Amanda was 12 when this happened.
They had to move into a small flat and Amanda had to change schools to go to state school. She didn't know anyone and this sudden change of lifestyle was hard for her. She admits that she started to invent that she was still living the life of a princess, pretending to be rich and so on. The problem is that this lie is costing her a lot of money, as she can no longer tell the truth. So she says that she almost went into debt to pretend to lead the life she invented for herself. Ashamed of having done a public bachelor's degree, she also lied on her Personal Resume, pretending that she had been to this prestigious school.
Devon and Roy are particularly disappointed and upset. Amanda indicates that she will be resigning. Devon replies that if she wants to do that, he's fine with it.
If you follow Jason's lead, you will later learn from Jason that it was he who informed the client that Amanda had been lying about her past all along.
My personal opinion on this revelation: I have no real sympathy for Amanda. She tells us that it was when she was 12 that her luxury lifestyle changed after her parents lost their jobs. You're going to tell me that since she was 12 she hasn't been able to accept and mentally change the fact that she can no longer enjoy this lifestyle? If that had happened when she was 18 or 20, just before she started higher education, I'd understand better, knowing that her whole adolescence would have been spent in this luxury. But that's not the case here. She had +10 years to adapt and stop lying.

Charles and carlos lead oscar to their hotel room planning to fuck him till he can't move as oscars a bottom but then they see his cock is really big (9in) and they just stare at it while oscar has had this happen to him alot and he really just wants to be fucked not the one doing the fucking.
–🍑
I said I’d write a Drabble (100 words) but at my core, I am a liar so here’s 600.
This was a great idea.
Carlos had to give Charles credit because he would never have done this on his own. Beautiful, beautiful Charles and his unending sex appeal and overbearing confidence. God, Carlos wanted to kiss him for coming up with this.
It felt devious- coaxing Oscar from the after party and inviting him to their room. Yes, their room. Just two guys sharing a bed and exploring each other's bodies on the regular- totally normal.
But god, something about Oscar just had Carlos’ cock springing to life- hardening so quick that his head spun a little. Charles had noticed, of course, and took matters into his own hands.
“Fancy letting us fuck you, baby?” Charles whispered, hand ghosting along Oscar’s crotch. Oscar visibly shivered but shot Charles a smirk before letting his gaze drift to Carlos.
“Both of you?” He asked, a glimmer of something mischievous in his eye.
“That’s the plan. Can’t have you walking away easily afterwards- maybe we’ll keep you in our bed forever,” Charles said, glancing over at Carlos who was nodding along obediently. Who the hell was he to argue with that. Getting to fuck Oscar six ways to Sunday? Count him in…literally.
They’d barely been able to keep their hands off each other in the elevator, practically shaking with want as they waited for the ding of the bell before bolting straight for their room.
Oscar was on Charles immediately, hands gripping his face as he connected their lips together, pressing Charles against the wall. Charles let out an airy laugh, grasping Oscar by the waist to stabilise them. Carlos watched on, his already hard cock twitching in interest.
In the blink of an eye, they were stripping their clothes off each other as they stumbled towards the bed, Oscar falling backwards a little awkwardly as he spread himself across the duvet. Carlos and Charles stood at the end of the bed, discarding their remaining clothes in a hurry as they took in the sight in front of them.
Oscar stopped his own movements just to stare at them both- his eyes drifting to their cocks. His eyes went a little hazy, probably imagining how it was going to feel to have them both splitting him open, fucking him until he was screaming and forgetting his own damn name.
“You can stare all you like once you get those pants off,” Charles said, kneeling on the bed between Oscar’s ankles. Oscar flushed a little before letting his thumbs tease under the waistband of his underwear.
Carlos and Charles watched in fascination as Oscar peeled his boxers off his body, revealing his naked cock.
“Holy shit,”
“Fucking hell,”
They both muttered in unison, eyes locking onto Oscar’s rather large cock. Charles had seen his fair share of dicks in the past, Carlos too- but none had come close to this.
Oscar watched the pair as they analysed him, processing what they were seeing.
“I’m not fucking either of you,” Oscar blurted suddenly, hand drifting to try and cover himself. It was futile though, given Oscar’s dainty hands and massive cock.
Carlos couldn’t help but laugh at the blatency as he climbed onto the bed alongside Charles.
“Who said anything about that?” Carlos asked teasingly, hand cupping Oscar’s jaw as he let his thumb slip into Oscar’s mouth.
“Just- people usually see my dick and think I should top…” He mumbled before beginning to suck on Carlos’ thumb. Carlos smirked, pushing it in a little deeper.
“Hm, I don’t think you’d enjoy that though-“ Carlos began, barely registering that Charles was now firmly between Oscar’s legs, his fingers slicked up with lube as he reached down below Oscar’s cock.
Oscar tensed a little as Charles’ cold fingers came in contact with his hole but he relaxed quickly, fingers coming to grip Carlos’ wrist as he took him deeper into his mouth.
“No,” Carlos said with a cruel chuckle, his other hand coming down to spread Oscar’s knees wider for Charles. “I think you just love to be filled, isn’t that right?”
Oscar couldn’t disagree. Much less when he found himself choking on Carlos’ cock as Charles took him from behind.

━╋ ݁ ⏜ ꒰ GOOD LUCK, BABE! ꒱ ── momo yaoyorozu x fem!reader / tenya iida x fem!reader ๑ ֹ ₊ㅤ
𓏲𝄢 momo does love you with all her heart. she does. but why can’t she let herself be with you if she does. now she’s here, as your maid of honor, watching you get married to someone that isn’t her.
𝜗𝜚 ─ warnings : angst. mostly written in third person. first time writer…bear with me please :p (might rewrite this in the future if i get better)
༝༚༝༚ ⊰ momo didn’t know if she wanted to rewind time or not. she wanted too, but she didn’t after seeing how happy you were. seeing your smile and how your eyes lit up were everything to her. and she wouldn’t dare take that away from you.
you deserved to be happy with the one you truly loved. she may have had your heart first but she didn’t keep it. now you have found love and solace in another. she wasn’t upset or sad, she was happy for you, and couldn’t wait for the rest of your future. but she was selfish, and wished that it was her, you were getting married to.
it was her fault, truly, it was. maybe if she accepted that her heart called out for you, it could have been her.
“i love you.”
words you had said to her when both of you were still attending UA. she knew you meant them. she whispered the same words to you. nothing came of it though…because of herself.
she wanted more with you, she wanted to live life with you right by her side, experience things she never had before. she wanted to be with you, live with you, marry you, raise a family with you. it didn’t happen like she had planned.
for some reason she couldn’t accept her heart yearning for you. so she put her feelings aside, and forced herself to love someone else. she’ll never forget the night she told you.
tears streamed down your face, and you asked why. she didn’t answer you, but she apologized. that wasn’t any better. you weren’t going hang to her, you weren’t going to put your life on pause for her no matter how much she meant to you. but you did tell her that when she realized it was too late for her to come back to you, you’ll tell her ‘i told you so’. and how much you hated it.
༝༚༝༚ ⊰ the morning of your wedding she woke up next to you, in the same bed. your eyes were still closed, lips parted slightly. she counted each mole on your face, and memorized their places. she watched your body going up and down gently with every breath you took. she knew in just a few hours she could never ask herself if their was a possibility of you being hers.
she watched you for a few more minutes. nostalgia waves over her, and just for second. in that tiny second for her, you both were back in the UA dorms.
she pushed the memories away, and gently called your name. at five a.m. you both woke, other bride maids tiredly walking in to get ready with you. the whole time she watched you, as you got your makeup done. she always loved your eyes, loves the shape and color of them. she watched as you got your hair done, your curls full of life, falling down your back.
she helped you into your wedding dress. a beautiful white dress with blue rhinestones coating the train. she softly slide the dress over your figure and went behind you to zip it up. her hand hovered over the zipper, her fingers twitched and she zipped the dress up.
she admired you whole, from the top to bottom. taking in your presence, being able to stand next to you was a blessing for her. she put a hand on your cheek and smiled at you saying nothing. and you smiled back, leaning into her palm.
you love her, truly. but you weren’t in love with her. not anymore. you cared for her and you would never stop.
she got in her place, standing next to the the bridesmaids. she watched you walk down the isle. for her, it was an eternity. the realization slowly sinking in, that you would belong to another.
she looked away slightly as you shared a kiss with your now husband, tenya iida.
the after party being full of life, while she felt like hers broke apart. as you both were eating, a very familiar song came on, you turned towards her, you eyes lighting up. you laughed and told your husband you were going to dance, giving him a wide smile and kissing his cheek. you grabbed her hand without another word and pulled her to dance.
“are you happy?” momo asked you softly. “i’m really happy, especially since you were by my side” you told her.
“are you happy, momo?”
no. she wasn’t.
“…i am” she smiled softly, her eyes slightly filling with tears.
you smiled and nodded, wiping her eyes. “don’t cry, i think you’re too beautiful to cry.” and in return she laughs.
“i told you so. i told you we’d be happy”
oh, how those first four words sent pain to her heart. if her heart wasn’t completely shattered, it was now. and once again in that moment she wished she had never set you aside. she wished she had let herself accept your love and your heart. she now truly wished should could rewind time.
now she’s standing face to face with “i told you so.”

a thought that's been spinning around in my head is what if jeremy did relapse? like what could drive him to that and how he would move forward considering the whole self hatred of "i'd rather die than be that person again" and shame in asking for help bc "ill never forgive you if you backslide"
OKAY so i’ve been sitting on this just thinking about it for a few days and although it’s not a theory that i believe would/will happen, it’s one of the few ideas i can come up with as to what could cause him to backslide
(i do believe him when he says he won’t. but god, for my own selfish reasons, do i want to see him crash out monumentally)
SO
Jeremy’s mom/stepdad stop allowing him to stay over at Laila/Jean’s place because of what happened to Bryson, how dangerous they think it could be, and how dangerous they think Jean is. Everything that has happened has made their control over Jeremy a thousand times worse. It’s torture for him, his final year, commuting to and from the university every single day for practices and that’s it; no parties, no free time, just practice, and classes, and then home. He’s forced into isolation, almost, but he still talks to the guys on video calls, and lies about having practices that don’t exist just so he can see them. But it’s few and far between. For him, mentally, it takes a huge toll. He hasn’t felt depression like this in a long time, if ever, really. It’s not good - He’s stuck with Bryson far more often that he’d like, and the only solace is those few hours a day where he gets to relax with Jean, Cat, Laila, and the few trojans he gets a chance to see outside of practice.
The guys notice this heaviness in him; Laila in particular gets worried to a point where she shows up at his house a handful of times just to make sure he’s okay, but the Wilshire household is a hostile place for her to be, and Jeremy hates her being around them if it at all can be avoided. Even the diplomats daughter excuse fails Mathilde and Warren: Jeremy has to focus on his LSATs, and he can’t afford outside distractions stealing his attention.
Jeremy pushes sitting the exam further out, and further out. He comes up with all the excuses he possibly can until he’s exhausted every single one, and with Bryson’s threats, he fails the first exam he sits. and it makes everything so much worse.
His phone is taken away from him at night, he’s not allowed to go for runs when he’s unaccompanied or without sharing his location the entire time. Everything the same as it’s been, but amplified, so much more suffocating than what’s healthy.
While all this is going on, the Trojans are doing well. They make it through to the Spring championships as expected, and one night Mathilde allows him to stay at Jean’s place, with the condition that he’s home by 10am the next morning. Its supposed to be a night of relief, a well deserved day off, but he cries in his friends arms and tells them that his family is destroying his life, and he doesn’t know why, and he doesn’t know what to do. Laila only looks at him with mild dissatisfaction as he spends most of the night sitting on the balcony, or out the front of the building, with cigarette after cigarette between his lips. They try to come up with a million ways to get him out of there but he knows none of them will work - he’s trapped, and there’s really nothing he can do.
Bryson corners Jeremy again, when he learns that he’s finally taking a resit exam, and tells him he has to fail this one too. Jeremy almost accepts the consequences of not doing what he says, that some planted coke or pills would be far less of a punishment than living in this prison is, but he takes the test, and he fails. It’s only half intentional, too. His mental health is in the gutter, because he’s a social butterfly, and he needs people around him to feel like himself. how can he focus on studying when he’s spending most of his days bored and resisting the temptation of the escape promised to him all those years ago?
The Trojans qualify for the semi finals, and then they qualify for the finals. It’s the Trojans V Penn State, or by another miracle, it’s the Foxes again. The date has been set. It’s a Friday, the same time of year that it usually is. It’s hard to enjoy the well earned chance at victory when he’s spent most of the year just trying to survive that big house with all its empty rooms and ghosts that walk the halls.
Warren has had enough of his failures, of course he has, the silly achievements of college sports irrelevant on his tall ladder of expectation. Jeremy spends a full night being berated, and belittled, called every name under the sun, full of vitriol and hatred for the disappointment of a son who refused the name of success and landed himself in such a position. Twice? He’d slammed Jeremy’s poor results on the table in front of him. Are you stupid, or do you faggots just get off on being embarrassments?
That night he texts his old dealer from high school, but when the response dings into his inbox, Jeremy deletes the message. He can’t. He thinks about Noah, and he thinks about everything riding on his sobriety. He can’t. He can’t do it.
But he wants to, so badly, and after that, he spends every waking second trying to prevent himself from asking again.
A morning or two later, Mathilde neatly sticks a sticky note to the top of the LSAT guides Jeremy has been pretending to study.
“What is that?” he asks, a date and time scribbled in her fancy scrawl across the green paper.
“It’s your exam, because you insist on avoiding it.” She says, turning around to do something else, like this was unimportant and meaningless to her. “I took the liberty of booking it for you. You aren’t going to fail this one.”
Jeremy picks up the piece of paper and stares at it. “I can’t do that date.”
“That’s too bad,” She almost laughs, sickly sweet. “It’s the only one they had this side of the month.”
“No, mom, I can’t do this date.” Jeremy’s head is in his hands already. This can’t be happening, and he doesn’t have the energy to argue anymore. “We’re flying out to Pennsylvania the night before. We play that evening. It’s the finals.”
She shrugs like that meant nothing to her, and Jeremy isn’t stupid enough to be surprised.
“Well,” She puts a hand on his head and endearingly rubs a thumb over his forehead. “You should have thought about that before failing the other two, Jeremy.”
He calls Cat as soon as he manages to pull his head out of the clouds of disbelief. It’s not long before the other two are on the other end of the line begging Jeremy to just leave, and they’ll figure it out later.
But he thinks of his life, that rides on a good relationship with the Wilshire empire, his reputation, and the Wilshire’s ability to ruin any potential recruitments he might have dreamt about in the future. One leaked document and every pro team in the country will know about Jeremy’s past, and his multiple run ins with the law. He thinks of his documents hidden under floorboards he’ll never find or safety deposit boxes he’ll never have access to. For a moment he wishes David Wymack had spent his time coaching a pro team, so maybe then he’d have a chance. He spends all his time agonising, trying to find a way, but everything in his life feels like it’s falling apart. He’s drinking so much coffee that he feels like his heart is going to burst. He’s barely even able to focus on playing anymore. He’s just about failing ceramics, for gods sake, and he’s not sure about most other classes - he has barely attended more than a lecture or two in weeks.
He spends hours, days, begging his mom to understand that this can’t be negotiable, it can’t be. He can’t let the team down at this point. Even Rhemann attempts to talk Mathilde down from her high pedestal, but Warren’s strong hand on her shoulder stops her from backing down. Jeremy’s dad stops answering his calls, not interested in being interrupted in the middle of the night to listen to the son he never cared about’s woes.
So the night before the championship finals comes, and Jeremy texts his teammates to have a safe flight, and he calls his dealer. They can’t meet anywhere suspicious, so he asks him to join him on the route he’s forced to run on. He knows his mom watches his every move when he leaves the house for even a second these days - he can’t stay still for too long either.
It’s not long later before he’s running home, with too much cocaine in his pocket, too many tears running down his face at what a disappointment he’d become. Noah would hate him for this; To be let down again, a promise broken, again, looking down from heaven at enough white powder to trigger a heart attack beforeJeremy even gets the chance to sit the exam.
He doesn’t take any of it that night; he knows he can’t fail again. The temptation is incredible, though, and it’s a very difficult thing to resist. He settles for some adderall he stole from Bryson’s room, and crams as much as his frazzled mind can take it.
He cries as much as he studies, every now and again just looking at the clear baggie that he hid in his wallet, heart racing every time he remembers that rush, that feeling.
The exam goes about as well as he expected, but he manages to find an hour somewhere afterwards before he’s expected to be home. he turns his phone and location off, and finds the nearest booty call to him in his contact list.
The coke goes down much easier than he was expecting it to, as if being out of practice would have made it different, but by the time his pupils are tiny and his heart is pumping, he’s at the front door of a bad idea. He doesn’t even feel able to question himself, unable to spend a half a second in his body to remember how much he’s destroying his life all over again, in that moment, because his brain and body are in seperate places. He doesn’t remember driving home, if his hookup kinda drove his car and got a cab back, or if he’d drove high out of his mind for the tedious 45 minutes that it takes. He hoped it was the former, but knew it was the latter. He just hoped he hadn’t caused an accident somewhere on the way.
His mom doesn’t stop him to ask how it went before he’s shutting his bedroom door behind him. He has a few hours to kill before the game, so he spends his time wisely between putting his nose in the bag, or smoking out of his bedroom window like a teenager afraid to be caught. By the time the game starts his paranoia has set in, an old and unwelcoming friend, and he hides his cigarettes deep in his closet for fear the tabloids would leak a photo of him smoking 10 cigarettes in an hour.
He cries when Jean takes to the court. He almost snaps his phone in half when Cat gets injured. When Derrick steps back from a fight, when Cody calls a timeout for an injury, all he feels is this hollow, empty pit in his stomach. When the Trojans lose, he can’t keep it in, and he feels his world start to crumble.
He wonders if this is how Noah felt before he made that decision to jump. He wonders if he’s high enough off the ground for it to work.
Laila calls him an hour or two later, and her face drops at the sight of Jeremy. When she asks him to hold the phone up to his eyes he smiles, an empty smile, obliging before she starts to cry. She hangs up, not out of anger, or rage at his decision to relapse, but sheer heartbreak at seeing him in such a state, alone, alone, alone, not able to do a single thing to stop it.
Cat calls him back minutes later, and he doesn’t feel heartened by how her voice cracks when she asks him what he’s taken. He’s angry, he thinks, a ball in his stomach and a voice in his head saying, “how dare they make this about them?”
She tells him to call his sponsor. She begs him to think this through. She knows she lost him when he’s half lucid and forgets he’s on a video call, dipping his head down to his bedside locker to snort a line he’d lay out earlier.
There’s an ending here, somewhere, a happy one, maybe, a complete one more likely. He said it himself; he can’t live with himself if he gets high again. He’d rather die than feel like that again. So maybe that’s just how it goes.

Prongsfoot microfic. Hope.
WC ≈ 1700. TW: swearing, internalised homophobia, underage drinking
"I love you, Sirius," James, looking rather sloshed, mumbles as he tries to wrap his arms around Sirius's neck. "Do you… love me?" His ability to talk properly is definitely falling apart.
"Of course I do. Everyone does" Sirius answers calmly, trying to keep James from falling to the floor.
Gryffindor had a Quidditch victory party after beating the shit out of Slytherin. At some point at the height of merriment, James and Peter decided to see who could drink more firewhiskey straight from the bottle. It was a pretty bad idea, Sirius knew that, but he didn't stop any of them from their teenage urge to explore all facets of bad decisions.
When the party came to an end and all their friends scattered to the dorms, James asked Sirius to stay with him for a little longer to have one more dram of whiskey, just making idle chitchat. Sirius shrugged uncertainly, thinking about the ability of James to drink more, but he looked sober (not really) enough, and… well, one more round of whiskey never killed anybody, did it?
That was a mistake, because James wanted one more. Then he asked Sirius for a drag – for the first time in his life – and then felt bad, and then poured himself another glass of whiskey justifying it with a need to rinse the awful taste of a fag from his mouth. Until Sirius finally took the last bottle away, and with a distinct sternness in his voice, said James had had enough. James didn't even try to argue, he just looked at Sirius and said:
"I love you, Sirius. Do you… love me?"
"Of course I do. Everyone does"
James chuckles and tightens his grip around Sirius's neck more.
"Come on, James, let's get you to bed. You need sleep. Trust me, mate, otherwise, tomorrow, I'm afraid you'll curse all of us out of pure hatred toward any form of life"
James apparently has nothing more to say, he just stares at Sirius with that deer look on his face and smiles – either gently or absentmindedly, hard to tell.
As soon as they're in their dorm, Sirius gets James into his bed. After a quick freshening up in the bathroom, Sirius climbs into his own, enjoying the cool sheets after this bloody long day with no extraneous thoughts. Not even about James confessing his love. Nothing strange about it, really, it happens every time James gets drunk. So Sirius is used to it. He knows there's nothing to overthink – it's just James's usual pissed charming self.
James has told Remus he loves him many times in this sloshed state. He's said it to Peter too. And everyone in this bloody castle knows that James is hopelessly in love with Lily. Unreciprocated, but still.
So there is definitely nothing to think about.
Nothing at all.
Sirius is about to fall asleep as he feels someone opening his bed curtains and trying to crawl in.
"James?"
"Mhm. It's boring there. Do you mind if I…"
"Fuck, James, we're not 15 anymore, and there is no space–"
"Thanks," James interrupts without any hesitation and comfortably nestles in beside Sirius.
"The pleasure is all mine", Sirius mutters, a hint of accepting fate and sarcasm in his voice.
"Couldn't sleep."
"Can't say the same for me."
James props himself up on his elbows and looks at Sirius, a mild grin on his face. Sirius arches an eyebrow, waiting for James to say something, but he just keeps staring at him in that strange way. Sirius feels his chest tighten at that closeness of his best friend.
He should be used to this by now, the same way he's used to James's drunken nonsense talking. But he hasn't manage. And Sirius is afraid he never will.
"You know what, Padfoot?" murmurs James in a soft voice
"Enlighten me."
"You didn't answer my question"
"Sorry?"
"I asked you if you love me"
"And I said–"
"Yeah, yeah, I remember. I'm drunk, not a mindless idiot. But that wasn't an answer. That was bullshit"
"Well, James, if you don't like my answers, you can peacefully fuck off"
James grins, but even in the dark Sirius can see the softness in his eyes. James reaches out to brush a lock of hair from Sirius's face. A tingling sensation spread through Sirius's body.
Fuck. Why is it always like this?
"I just wanna know if you love me the way I love you"
Silence falls between them.
James probably has no fucking idea how painful this is for Sirius – the endless love confessions, even if they're just friendly. The way he's always around, too close, too suffocating. The way he so damn casually demands answers from Sirius, completely oblivious to how much it all actually matters to him. Sirius is abso-fucking-lutely sure James has no clue just how important it really is.
James asks Sirius to say something he simply can't say. He can't. And he doesn't want to. Because there is no point in that. Because it's terrifying. Even dangerous. There's love that's fated to die inside of you, and that's the bitter poetry of life that Sirius accepted from the very first moment he realised his feelings for his best friend.
But when James is this close – when Sirius can smell moss, whiskey, and sweat, when James touches him, presses against him, so easily, so gently – for a brief moment it feels like there's something more. Something deeply mutual. Something beyond friendship.
Damn, what a load of sappy rubbish. Sirius shouldn't think like that. Just shouldn't.
"Sirius. Do you love me the way I love you?" James insists. The smug grin has faded from his face giving way to a drowsy, drunken, but stubborn stare.
James won't remember a damn thing anyway. Not after all that alcohol.
And Sirius? He could never lie to James.
(Or is this just a wretched attempt to absolve himself of the sin of a reckless confession?)
"I love you more than you can imagine, James" Sirius mutters as if ashamed of saying it aloud.
Fuck, that sounded pathetic.
But James just flashes that stupid, broad grin again. Of course he does. This drunk animal got exactly what he wanted — validation — without the faintest clue what Sirius’s words really meant.
It's for the best though. This is how it should be – James shouldn't have a single doubt about…
Sirius barely registers when James's lips find his. He doesn’t know how he ends up kissing him back, how his body just reacts on instinct. He doesn't realise when James's fingers tangle into his hair.
How long does it last? 5 seconds? Ten?
Sirius gently pushes James away. Soft but firm.
"James, no"
"Why?"
Why?
Because Sirius knows it's better not to let drunk people make important decisions – and kissing your best friend, who, by some cruel joke of fate, happens to be a guy, is definitely and important decision. One James might seriously regret.
Because James is completely wasted. Because he just wants to kiss anybody.
Because it's not about Sirius at all – he's just convenient for James's drunken lust.
Because if Sirius really succumbs to this temptation, if he lets this happen, and James remembers, it will ruin everything.
Not to mention Sirius thinks it's completely unfair to kiss someone who can't fully comprehend what the fuck they're doing.
And what then? Awkward pauses. Stolen glances. And a friendship that crumbles.
Sirius can't sacrifice James-the-friend-for-life just to get James-the-lover-for-a-minute, no matter how badly he wants to.
Because it's not right. It's not fair. It shouldn't be this way. And it never will be.
"Because I don't want to," Sirius lies. He has to. It's the only thing that will stop James now – a clear rejection.
"You don't believe me, do you?" A barely concealed disappointment in James's voice. "That I love you – you don't believe me"
"James, stop it"
"I love you"
Fuck, that hurts. Sirius thought he was used to James's confessions, but after everything that just happened, it stings all over again. Once more, that ugly miserable hope claws its way back into his chest – the hope that James actually means it. Not that Sirius doesn't cherish James's love as a friend. He does, more than anything. But a longing heart always wants more. And he thought he'd put all that behind him. He really did.
Merlin, his mother was right – Sirius really is pathetic.
He really fucking is.
"Say that when you're sober, ok?"
"And will you let me kiss you then?"James smirks, leaning in closer.
"Fuck off, James. For Merlin's sake," Sirius snaps, shoving him away. He turns away, forcing himself not to break. Maybe he just should to move to James's bed since James is so fucking glued to his.
An awkward ringing silence stretches between them.
"I'm sorry, Sirius," James mutters, a slight guilt lacing his voice. "I really am. I didn't think you'd react like this… I thought it'd be fun"
"Nothing to apologise for"
"Still, I am sorry. And…" James pauses as if he's trying to find the right words. "Look, don't think that I'm… you know… like that…"
This hits straight to the chest.
"Like what?" Sirius immediately turns around to face James again. He stares at him, arching a brow – waiting, maybe even daring.
"I'm not gay," James blurts embarrassed. If not for the darkness, Sirius could swear that James was red to the tips of his ears.
"You think that's the problem? That I might think you're gay?" Sirius asks, his voice laced with dry amusement, just enough bite to be cruel.
"Uhm.. yeah? That's why you're pissed, right? You thought I was hitting on you, and–"
"Holy fuck, James. You're such a fucking idiot" Sirius cuts him off. "Get the fuck off my bed. Right now."
"Pads–"
"Now, James. Or I'll throw you off myself. And trust me, that will fucking hurt."
"Alright, alright"James raises his hands in surrender and slides off the bed. "Listen, mate, I swear, I didn't mean–"
"Sleep it off, and we'll talk tomorrow." Sirius doesn't let James finish his stupid justifications. "If you even remember anything," and then he yanks the curtains shut just in James's stupid, drunk face.
