── .✦ You make a deal with Jisung.
word count: 2.1k
genre: fluff, skater!jisung x female reader, friends to lovers, neighbor au
warnings: cursing, reader is kind of a brat, kissing, borderline making out, much fluff
taglist: @jisunggy
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ───
Maybe this deal wasn’t such a good idea.
Your most recent obsession, Stardew Valley, had you begging Jisung to play just one game with you. planning to bug him into submission, you would bring up the game every chance you got. After about a week, he finally relented and agreed to play with you. On one condition. You had to let him teach you a trick on that goddamn skateboard of yours.
You from this morning had agreed. You from this morning was an idiot.
Now, you’re sweating your ass off on a dingy green park bench in the middle of July, chugging what little water you have left out of your regrettably small bottle. It had been what, three hours now? And you just couldn’t get the damned trick down. If you have to hear the words, “One more time! You were so close!” again, you might commit a war crime. The plastic of the bottle crinkles as you crush it and toss it towards the nearest trash can. You miss.
In an attempt to get Jisung’s attention, you sprawl your limbs obnoxiously over the length of the bench.
“You’re trying to kill me.” You groan, theatrically draping an arm over your face, “Your sick games won’t work forever.”
“Maybe if you weren’t such a whiner you would get the hang of it faster.” Jisung suggests helpfully as he successfully throws your bottle in the trash and takes a seat next to you, shoving your leg out of the way to make room. He’s sweaty as well, and proceeds to take over any space that is left on bench.
You are most definitely not thinking about how you would love to devour him whole right now. No, that would be silly.
Five years ago, Jisung moved into the neighborhood. Both of you being in freshman year of high school, it started with you two carpooling to school. Which turned into doing homework on the weekends. Which resulted in the two of you being permanently attached at the hip.
And the whole time, you’ve had the biggest, juiciest crush on him.
That little smirk when you’re teasing him? Smitten. When he raises his arms and you can see a sliver of that waist beneath the folds of his hoodie? Good lord. And don’t even get you started on his habit of running his hand through his hair.
But of course, you’re too much of a chicken to actually tell him about it. Besides, he probably doesn’t even like you like that, and you’re not about to make a fool out of yourself to find out.
“Well excuse me for not particularly enjoying having heatstroke. I’m done.”
Arms crossed, you challenge him to say something. Unfortunately, he’s gotten pretty good at dealing with your shit over the years.
In favor of a response, a pointed look is sent by Jisung, one eyebrow raised along with a just barely suppressed smile coloring his features. A bead of sweat rolls down the left side of his flushed face, suggesting that he’s probably just as warm and uncomfortable as you and he’s not complaining. Whatever. You’re still going to bitch about it.
“But you were almost there, I swear! Just one more time, pleasee?” Jisung pleads, widening his eyes and sticking out his lower lip. Not this tactic again. You hate it when he does that. He knows you can’t say no. It’s an unfair advantage.
Skateboarding with Jisung had been a nearly daily exhibition for around a year and a half now. Well, you say “skateboarding” but it really just consists of you riding to and from the convenience store at the end of the block every couple of days. Which you manage to do without falling over, thank you very much. Jisung was just a natural at it, always had been. You were, quite frankly, not.
You had never attempted a trick, content with simply watching Jisung in his element. There’s something theraputic about watching a master of their craft in action. Also you were scared of falling and breaking an arm again.
Fine. Fine. You’ll try one more time.
“Okay, one more time. But this is the last try, or I swear to God I’m going to feed your hamster to Bagel.”
Jisung grips the front of his shirt in mock offense at the threat, his gasps of, “You monster!” trailing you as you stomp off with your skateboard onto the open pavement.
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ───
“Now remember, left foot on the back edge…”
A small breeze had started to pick up, alleviating some of your discomfort. The surrounding air was less stifling now, the wind bringing the scent of freshly cut grass to your senses.
What was this trick called again? A strawberry milkshake? It was one of the “easier” tricks, according to Jisung. If by “easy” he meant that it’s the mental equivalent to stepping on a lego, he was right on. This shit is hard.
The firm hold that Jisung’s hand currently has on your waist makes it even harder. He’s really not helping you focus on the task at hand.
With a deep breath, both in preparation for the trick and to quiet down the rushing of blood in your ears, you repeat the same motion you had been working on for the better portion of the afternoon.
Front foot off. Wrap around. Land.
By Jisung’s reaction, you would think you had won the lottery. He’s pumping both fists in the air and shouting, completely beside himself. You landed it! You really did!
You then proceed to wipe out on the pavement.
Yeah, that checks out.
As you’re brushing the fall from your pants, you are nearly bowled over by Jisung, who sweeps you up and spins you around in a tight hug. The rush of the breeze around you has you laughing breathlessly, holding on to him for dear life.
“Yes! Holy shit, see? I knew you could do it! That was awesome!” He sets you down, looking at you with beams of pride spilling from his crinkled eyes and heart-shaped smile.
“I did it! I finally did it!” You squeal, the adrenaline and genuine excitement of the moment taking control of your body as you bounce up and down, gripping his fingers as you do so.
The grin Jisung gives you is bright enough to light up even the darkest corners of the world, you’re sure of it. You want to keep him in your hands forever and never let go.
But, you do. After a minute of joint celebration, you inform him that you’re going to sit down for a minute to catch your breath.
Finding a nearby tree, you settle beneath its branches, eyes adjusting to the newfound shade. The grass is cool beneath your palms, calming your sun-kissed skin.
As you watch Jisung continue to skate you’re reminded of just how good at this he is. He navigates his skateboard like it’s as simple as walking, every one of his tricks are landed with precision and ease. His habit of biting his lower lip in concentration anytime he performs an air is doing nothing for your sanity though.
Your crippling sweet tooth prods at you, so you decide to reward yourself. Rustling through your bag, you pull out a lollipop, popping it into your mouth. Its tart sweetness bathes your tongue, and you cross your legs, humming contentedly as you resume your attention on Jisung.
After about ten more minutes, he’s jogging over to you with his skateboard in hand. Your heart noticeably picks up its pace. Stop that. Calm down.
Taking a seat next to you, Jisung runs his hand through his sweat-damp hair, one arm supporting his weight and the other coming to rest on his knee. He looks ethereal, skin glowing with the gentle brush of light falling from the tree above.
Then, without so much as a “hello”, the lollipop is yanked from your hand and held out of your grasp.
“Jisung, are you serious? Give it back!” You shout in exasperation at the loss of your sugar source. Is he seven years old? Who does that?
“Nuh-uh, what’s the magic word?” He stretches his arm away as you basically tackle him, reaching vainly for the candy.
“I’m not the one who should be saying please here!”
You have an idea. Grabbing the front of his shirt, you pull him towards you. This is definitely the dumbest thing you’ve done all week. But it’s too late now. You can see his eyes fly wide, trying to process the situation as you plant a kiss right on his lips. He’s soft. And warm.
When you pull away, you take the opportunity to snatch the candy back from Jisung’s now limp hand. Popping the sucker back into your mouth, you grin at him smugly. It worked.
Jisung sits there, unmoving. Lips slightly parted, he stares at you, his gaze shifting from your eyes, fluttering down to your lips, and back again. Shit, was that a bad idea? That was a bad idea. You probably should have asked first. What the fuck were you thinking?
Before you could blurt out any sort of apology, he’s grabbing your hand and the candy is pulled from your lips with a pop. It falls onto the cool grass below.
A shaking hand slots underneath your chin with barely suppressed eagerness and he pulls you to him, capturing your lips in a proper kiss. The heat from his body and the sweep of his breath over you are all-consuming. blocking out the world, save for him.
This. Him. Everything about it just feels… easy. Natural. The way he cradles your jaw firmly, but with a careful gentleness that is entirely and solely Jisung. The way his free hand drapes down your side, coming to rest on top of your hip. The way his lips move in perfect harmony with yours.
The tree’s rough bark presses against your back as he leads you backwards, the sweetness of the lollipop being traded between your mouths. A flame starts to burn in your chest, spreading like wildfire until your whole body is alight with the flicker of butterfly wings.
Drawing away to look at you, Jisung runs his tongue over his glistening lips.
He’s holding himself back. He wants nothing more than to consume you, your essence, everything. He wants to show you how much he cares. He also wants to suck every last drop of sweetness from your lips. But he won’t. Not yet. Not until he knows you want it as much as he does. But, God, you drive him crazy. His eyebrows pinch and he shakes his head, trying to clear it.
You feel the loss of his ministrations on you like a load of bricks. Wrapping a hand around the back of his head, you pull him onto you once more, wanting -no- needing more of him. He needs more of you too, as is evident by the way his hands tighten and by his quiet gasp of breath when you oh-so gently nip his lower lip, teasing him.
This time, you’re the one to pull away, giggling awkwardly as he squeezes his eyes shut, clearly attempting to pull himself together.
Peeking at you, he finally makes eyes contact, feeling the need to say something, anything.
“Wow…” Is all he manages out, and your giggles morph into full on laughter. You make a kissy face at him which earns you a shove to your shoulder, and Jisungs ears turning a bright red.
“Hey! Don’t make fun of me!” he complains, bringing out that pout of his again.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry,” you say, patting his shoulder, “you’re just such a dork.”
With your side of the deal completed, it’s his turn to pay up. With the steadily setting sun lighting your way, Jisung accompanies you to your house after the silent agreement to play games now, sort out weird feelings later.
epilogue ─☆
As your game loads up, Jisung decides to sit on the couch as far away from you as possible, curling up and hunching over his respective screen. Occasionally, he glances up at you, looking like he just got caught with his hand in the cookie jar.
Okay. What is he hiding.
You (with grace) crawl across the couch to him, taking a page from his book and snatching the switch from his hands. He yells and kicks you in protest, but not before you had seen his screen.
J.one J.one’s Farm
Day 9 of Winter, Year 3 124,196g
Hours Spent: 106
One hundred and six hours. Jisung had told you that he’d never heard of the game before, let alone played it, and had very begrudgingly agreed to humor you. This whole time he’d been playing it? Why didn’t he- oh.
Jisung looks up at you with a sheepish grin, having been caught in his little scheme.
“I just wanted you to skate with me- ow!” he exclaims, bringing up his hands in defense as you bonk him with the switch.
“Next time maybe just ask?”
“How would I have gotten my kiss then?”

Hey! I’ve been into SDV for a while know and I found your profile and it’s absolutely amazing! Your headcanons are so accurate and your writing is so smooth! I love it all! I saw that you take requests, so could you do headcanons for Stardew Valley Bachelors and Bachelorettes reactions when they find out that the farmer has a prosthetic leg?
(Love your work💗💗)
A/N: thank you for enjoying my work!! I try my best to write everyone in a way that I think is accurate so it feels good when people say that they think it is. Again if anything is offensive or wrong let me know!!!
Tw: some cursing, maybe some mean things/judgement/ableism because let’s face it not everyone is nice, a person without a prosthetic writing about it. let me know if anything else should be tagged!
Bc: at least 5 for each!! Some are shorter than others!
Stardew Masterlist
Sebastian
I feel like Sebastian would try to act normal about it but would be like….
Hmm okay
I don’t think he would react outwardly
He would try to keep things inside
And I don’t think he’s ableist
But he would be like
OMGOMGOMGOMG in his mind
He wouldn’t ask questions either
He’d just act like everything is fine when in reality he’s now panicking like……..
Is he supposed to act different? He doesn’t think so? Is that rude?
Is terrified of losing you and doesn’t want to mess anything up.
When he does ask about it tries to do it in the most non offending way possible.
Because he is curious about it
I don’t think anyone else in the valley has prosthetics
So he does want to know everything
He’s really nosy tbh
But acts all emo and as if he isn’t and that he doesn’t care
If you wanna ever talk about it I think you would have to bring it up first
Sam
OH COOL ya know *insert some random thing*
He wouldn’t be all “omg I didn’t know I’m so sorry” about it
I think he’s similar to Emily in this
In that it doesn’t really change his view of you
Would probably say offensive things though
Like on accident and because his mind is coming up with dumb questions and he has no impulse control when it comes to his mouth
Would ask if you could be like a pirate
Or ask if it means you can skateboard better than him
Would probably give you a kinda offensive nickname
But again hes doesn’t mean to be stupid about it
DOES change his tune if you don’t like it
Would never want to continue doing something that you actively dislike
Does ask every question that is on his mind
I feel like rather than the others he’s much more comfy with you
So doesn’t hesitate to ask about anything he lacks knowledge on
Shane
Depending on where you are in your relationship he has different moods
Like if he hasn’t opened up and is still depressed and an alcoholic he would be VERY pessimistic about it
Would probably get your spirits down
Would also probably say VERY offensive things in his melancholy state
Would say sorry only after you say that he’s being rude about it
If it’s after he gets help no matter if you’re dating or not he’s still like…
Oof
About it
Y’know? But he wouldn’t be an asshole either he’d just be like
Are you okay? About it if it makes sense?
Like it’s not an omg are you okay it’s more of a how are you feeling about it way
Like no matter if you’ve had the prosthetic forever or got it more recently his question is the same
How do you feel about it?
Does really care about your thoughts
I do think with him you’d have more deeper conversations than with anyone else other than maybe Harvey
Alex
While I don’t think he’s very judgmental on purpose
He probably would say some rude things
Or react in a rude way
Maybe thoughtless is the right word?
Like he isn’t going to be mean or anything
But he will say something like “oh like a pirate or something!”
And you’d be like “??????sure I guess….?”
Would want to swing your prosthetic leg around for shits and giggles
Understands that it’s expensive to get proper prosthetics but it’s in the back of his mind
Wouldn’t really treat you any differently unless it’s something that he thinks could hurt you
Even if you can do it alone
He’s like “NONO let me do it!!”
I don’t know what type of person you are but I know that’s either a relief so you only have to do easy things or it’s annoying because you’re perfectly able to do things on your own.
Is always impressed that you can do your farming duties.
Like it’s sorta ableist?
Like he’s a little confused but he has the spirit type of thing
Harvey
His first thought would be
Damn how good is your insurance
Or if you had to pay out of pocket for it
Is a doctor after all
I think he’d be curious in a doctor way
Because again I don’t think anyone else in the valley has a prosthetic (Sadge bc diversity is cool)
So he hasn’t really seen them that often
Would probably be very intrusive if you two are close
Would also back off if you weren’t okay with it
Does however become very….worried? About you
I don’t think worried is the right word
But would remind you to take breaks more often than he would a farmer without one (and even then it’s pretty often)
Like a mother kinda
Is kinda ableist but doesn’t realize because he thinks it’s just his doctor side
Again will stop if you want him to
Would absolutely have some interesting facts about prosthetics
Elliott
Would try to be poetic about it
And it’s either very cringy or cute based on hope you think of him
Would probably try to write a book or story or poem or something about a character with a prosthetic
Does get a lot of things wrong with the facts but tries
Because you are his muse
And his characters reflect you even if he won’t admit is until you’re closer enough
Might change something’s up about it though so it’s not exactly you
Just in case you hate it so he could be like “nononono this character has a DIFFERENT prosthetic hehe”
I do think he’s ableist but again like the others not in a judgemental kind of way just…..uninformed
Will listen if you try to teach him
Will also fight anyone who has anything to say about it
Haley
Depending on where you are in your relationship makes her reaction different
Like before she opens up I think she’d have a mean girl type of reaction
Like she’d make a face and everything and ask rude questions.
Like it would genuinely either make you mad or make you feel bad
She’d be like “WHAT THE HELL??”
And you’d be like “tf???? Are you okay?”
She’s ask VERY personal questions
Partly because she’s curious and partly because she has to make fun of you by being a bitch
But if you’re closer when she finds out she’s just like…
Taken aback and like oof but that’s the extent to it
I think if you’re closer she’d be too scared to ask any questions because while she gives no fucks she likes you
Whether it be in a romantic or platonic way
And she doesn’t want to push you away or anything
So she won’t really comment on it other than being like “oh….okay….”
Will fight anyone who says something about it though
Like even if they’re asking a valid question or something she’s like “ABSOLUTELY NOT”
Emily
Doesn’t react at all other than being like oh cool!
Honestly I don’t think she would think anything different of you, or even think that anything has changed now that she knows
Like you have always been the person that she knows and your limbs being different doesn’t mean anything because why would it?
Does make you cute accessories for it if you allow it though
Makes covers, will bedazzle it, literally whatever you want.
I think out of all of the bachelors and bachelorettes she would be the one to make it the least weird.
Like the others would either ask really insensitive questions or act weird about it
She’s like <3 yeah okay anyways do you wanna see this dance I’ve been practicing?
Like sorry I don’t have many headcanons for her she’s just….normal when it comes to things that other people would deem weird(not to be ableist I hope you know what I mean by this bc people are asses)
Penny
VERY ABLEIST
But again not in a judgy way
She just….
She means well but it’s kinda annoying if you don’t want help
Just like how she shoves George’s wheelchair out of the way at the mailbox to help him
It’s like first you should ASK if someone wants help
And second helping isn’t always what you think it is
Would help you without asking if you want it
Acts like she just is so much stronger or whatever
Is VERY embarrassed after you talk to her about it
Might try to argue back that she was just helping
But ultimately realizes that she was kinda overstepping
Just wants to make things easier for you
Abigail
Would think it’s cool
Asks dumb questions like if it gives you an advantage over anything that others wouldn’t think about
Forgets about it half the time tbh
Like it doesn’t matter to her
And thankfully she has make herself her own person outside of Pierre’s beliefs bc child her would’ve been mean
But she does think it’s cool and like the others has a million different questions
Asks them nonstop
Also like Alex asks if she can use it as a weapon
Sometimes offensive but not often I don’t think
Would probably say some bullshit like you’re part robot or something
Again depending on how you feel she either keeps up this joke with you.
Or lets it die out
Cooler than most about it
Leah
I think she’s one of the ones that doesn’t react
Because she’s lived in the city
I think she has come across a couple people with different kinds of prosthetics
So she isn’t like the others with a million questions or anything
It’s much more normalized for her that she doesn’t really comment or question it
Will ask if she could create one for you out of wood just to see if she can
Also one of the ones that would knock a bitch out for coming at you in a rude way
Would probably have a “yeah and?” Reaction if you wanted her to actually react
Like it doesn’t change anything at all for her.
Maru
Would be stoked
But in a science type of way
Would also wanna see if she could make you a new one
Unlike Leah though Maru would probably be a bit offensive
Mostly because I don’t think she understands social norms or anything
So she would ask things that would be unamusing and uncomfortable for you because she really just….
Doesn’t understand that there’s things that you shouldn’t say or do
Is overwhelmingly positive though
Like tries VERY hard to get you to understand that nothing has changed for her
Is a little annoying about it but just really wants you to know that she likes or loves you no matter what
Would probably have some interesting facts about prosthetics as well

I saw someone saying that the farmer is “special” (explaining why they always get to see the blue jellyfish every summer) and this idea came to my head.
May I request some headcanons on the adventurer’s POV where they realized the farmer is “special”, and kinda fall for them the moment they realized that?
Think of it as like the lantern scene between Eugene and Rapunzel in Tangled. Thanks in advance ^^
Honestly, it turned out more like one-shot than headcanon, but I hope you enjoy this format as well, dear anon. Thanks for the ask! 🫰💕

Alesia:
It had been so long since Alesia had set foot in the Cindersap Forest. The last time she'd been here was probably ten years ago, when Marlon had taken her to train and gather mushrooms for brewing elixirs. It hadn't changed much since she'd moved to Castle Village, so it would be easy for her to remember all the paths here. Venturing deeper into the forest, she scrutinised the majestic poplars, looking for the secluded spots of mushroom colonies and simply enjoying nature. After all, she had missed the forest...
The archer's attention was drawn to some movement behind the dense blackberry bushes. Crouching down and trying not to make a sound, she curiously crept closer and closer until she finally reached the bushes. What Alesia saw made her very surprised. She had expected to see a fox or a grouse, but instead she saw the Farmer surrounded by wild deer.
A young male, three females, and four fawns - one big friendly family of noble creatures that surrounded the Farmer and would not let them pass. The adult deer licked Farmer's hands, jostling slightly in an attempt to take all attention for themselves, while the little fawns jumped and galloped around unrestrainedly. One even stole a tasty cave carrot from the Farmer's basket.
Alesia was so amused by this picture, how all these forest creatures demanded the Farmer's attention, affection, to be scratched behind the ears... And the way the Farmer glows with happiness, how they genuinely laugh and smile...
The crunch of a dry branch that the sniper stepped on immediately made all the deer turn their heads in her direction and prick up their ears. The male shook the signal and the whole herd galloped away, leaving the slightly confused Farmer alone.
Alesia emerged from the bushes and nodded a greeting to Farmer.
"Sorry, didn't mean to scare them," she smiled slightly guiltily at Farmer.
"Actually, I should thank you. They follow me around forever when I'm picking berries in the forest," Farmer was still smiling just as broadly. "Or else they'd steal all my carrots from me!"
That event was something Alesia would remember for a long time after returning to the Galdoran Continent.
Lance:
The Lunaloo migration, or Moonlight Jellies as they are commonly known, is perhaps one of the most majestic phenomena Lance has ever seen. They are frequent visitors not only to the Stardew Valley, but also to Ginger Island, so Lance was able to enjoy the beautiful sight without leaving his post.
Once again, the pale light emanating from the magical jellyfish illuminated the entire shore. Lance sensed this energy and quickly teleported to the docks. However, he didn't know that there were more spectators here who had come to see the jellyfish.
Farmer had been on Ginger Island for a month now and their presence wasn't too surprising. But as far as the pink-haired adventurer could remember, all the people of the Valley come together on this day. So why is the Farmer here? And alone?
Lance wanted to call out to them, but stopped himself when he noticed something even more unusual: at least five green, Shining Lunaloo were swimming very close to Farmer when they put their hand into the sea water. Such jellyfish were very rare, and the fact that there were as many as five floating near Farmer...
"A wonderful sight, don't you think?" Lance thought to himself that he should learn not to scare people with his sudden appearance, for this was the second time he'd made them jump in surprise. "Sorry, my friend, didn't mean to disturb you."
"That's okay, don't worry," Farmer assured him, and then their attention turned back to the jellyfish. "Look how beautiful!" they pointed with their hand at the glowing water.
"Beautiful creatures, indeed," Lance agreed.
The two stood in silence for half a minute, only the sound of the sea waves and the distant noise of the local jungle fauna could be heard.
"You know," Farmer broke the silence, "I don't know why, but those jellyfish, the green one, always come near me. Strange, isn't it?"
"Lunaloo are creatures imbued with magic. So it's no wonder they sense magic in you, too." Or something special, Lance wanted to add, but decided not to distract the Farmer any further with conversation, examining the jellyfish closer and setting himself up for dreamy thoughts.
Isaac:
Fireflies... They were strange creatures, at least to Isaac, who had never seen fireflies. In fact, neither had he seen any of the other fauna of the forest. The dark-haired adventurer was so used to the quicksand and bloody fog of the Crimson Baldlans that he was beginning to wonder about fireflies. Even the gardens created by their witch Camilla in Castle Village can't compare to the beauty of nature. And yes, Isaac was a connoisseur of beauty too, even but only a couple of people knew it.
He was standing on the dock near Marlon's boat, enjoying the silence of the night and the scenery of Adventurer Summit. And then, it flew past him - a glowing bug that caught the Isaac's attention. The firefly flew higher and higher, and without knowing why, Isaac followed the insect up the stairs. What was his surprise when the firefly he was following headed straight for the Farmer, who was surrounded by dozens of other fireflies.
Like a large camp lantern, they stood motionless, trying not to scare away the bugs that had managed to land on their sleeves. Noticing Isaac, the Farmer chugged a smile.
"Hey, good night. Um. Yeah, I know I look a little silly for you, right?" Silence was the answer for Farmer, and they weren't surprised at that - Isaac was a man of few words. The most they could hear from the monster hunter was a snort because the Farmer had once again interrupted his rest and enjoyment of solitude with his noisy company.
But the scarred man had a completely different look - there was no rolling of the eyes, no irritation, no anger, no indifference. His gaze was so soft and so unnatural to Isaac that the Farmer was a little confused.
Isaac, after all, was a connoisseur of beauty, and now he was looking at something more beautiful. Maybe something more beautiful than even the fireflies.

One Sunny Day
(Stardew Valley)(Haley x Female Farmer)
Chapter 23: Back to Danny's POV
I had gone to Gus's saloon to grab some dinner since I didn't feel like cooking tonight. I was also hoping to run into Haley too because I have been dying to see her. I was hoping to maybe pull her aside if I got the chance, but when I arrived, she was seated with Alex on their usual couch. She was awfully close to him, with her knees turned towards his. I should've known she'd be with him since we ran into each other at his house. She was not just there for Evelyn.
Something had compelled me to change shirts before coming here too. Earlier I was trying to hide the marks on my neck with a collared shirt, but I decided to show them off and put on a tank top with no collar. I was hoping Haley would see that I'm not ashamed or embarrassed about it and that my confidence is through the roof.
I was fully aware all eyes were on me too in the saloon. Word had gotten around about the situation, and everyone was trying to catch a glimpse. I ignored everyone and just placed my dinner order with Gus.
"I'll just take a pizza please, Gus," I say as I slouch forward in my seat and rest my hand on my cheek.
"Sure thing, Danny. Do you want a beer as well?" Gus questions. My gut lurches at the thought of drinking again and I quickly shake my head.
"No thank you. Just water for me today."
Gus examines me for a minute, realizing there is something off about me. He doesn't say anything as he turns to grab me a glass of water.
My eyes shift over to the arcade where everyone is hanging out. I would've gone over there too, but I can tell Haley is trying to hide from me. But when I look over, I catch many of them staring right back at me. I quickly avert my gaze away back to Gus who has brought me water.
"What's going on with you? Something seems to be the matter?" Gus sympathetically asks.
"It's a long story. I'm sure you've heard," I sigh and give him a small smile.
"Yeah I won't pretend that I didn't hear about that. Don't get too hung up on that. It will all blow over soon," He tries to reassure me.
"I don't want it to blow over," I mutter, "I want things to go farther between us. I want her to feel comfortable with me."
"Give it some time and maybe she will come around. You guys can't keep running around each other forever. One of you will have to make the first move, but I don't think it will be her," He explains.
"I'll try... but I don't know how much longer I can keep this up. She is the first person I have ever felt so drawn to. She makes me feel like no one has before," I start blushing and fiddling with my hands.
Gus gives me a genuine smile and pats the counter in front of me before walking over to help Pam.
From the corner of my eye, I start to see movement coming from the arcade. Curiously, I turn my head to see what's going on.
Haley and Alex are walking past, beelining for the door. Haley looks like she is on a mission, Alex is not looking too happy. I am a little upset, but what sends me over the edge is when I realize where their hands are.
They were holding hands as they walked through the saloon. Sure it looked a little forced, but nonetheless they were holding hands and leaving the saloon together. Late at night might I add.
I can't help it, but my jaw drops open as Haley looks my way with a glint in her eyes.
The two of them, still hand in hand, walk out the front door, making the bell above the door chime at their exit.
The saloon was silent as everyone had just watched the two of them leave together. I'm the first to break my gaze from the door. I instead look towards the group at the arcade who all turn to give me a pitiful smile.
Emily, who was working her shift at the saloon, had made the pizza I had ordered. However, she must've sensed my emotions because the pizza was already packed to go rather than for dine-in.
I took one last sip of my water and slammed it down on the counter. I passed some change to Gus for the meal, and took the pizza from Emily. Everyone in the saloon stayed out of my way as I booked it to the door to leave.
I was just going to call it quits for the night and go home, but before I could, I saw in the distance Alex and Haley still holding hands. They were headed straight for Alex's house. I watch as Haley stops in her tracks and leans in to whisper in his ear. Suddenly, their demeanors changed and there was more pep in their step. They burst through the front door of Alex's place and shut it right behind them. I swear I saw the door rattle on its hinges a second after it shut from something going on inside.
I was speechless. I was stuck in one spot, as I watched the whole thing play out. My whole body lost all of its energy in an instance. The hand holding the pizza lowered, my back suddenly ached, and my legs felt wobbly.
As if on cue, a raindrop falls right on my nose. I don't make any move to rush home, and continue staring in the same direction. I feel each piece of my heart break apart as I think about what they could be doing together in the house.
As the rain starts to fall harder, I finally muster up the energy to walk back home. I hold my pizza box as close to me as possible so it doesn't get soggy, but it isn't working very well. The rain is coming down too hard to shield the entire box.
I quickly enter through my front door and carefully set the collapsing pizza box on my kitchen table. Absolutely starving and on the edge of tears, I pop open the box to take a slice.
The rain had soaked through the top and gotten to the pizza making the cheese, dough and toppings all soggy. That was my final straw. Instead of taking a seat in a chair, my legs give out under me and I rest my forehead against my arms on the ledge of the table, uncomfortably squatting. I couldn't stop the tears from escaping this time, and let them rain down my face.

I just checked and I found out I had 1.3k followers. Hi. This is I think one of the first posts I’ve made on this blog in almost five years but I’m feeling down at the moment so I thought I’d reminisce.
Stardew Valley was the first game in which I romanced a male character. Yes, it was Harvey. I was eighteen years old, freshly out to myself and I was dipping my toes into the idea that I could get into a relationship with another man.
I had so much shame about it all then. I couldn’t speak, even to my queer friends about my feelings, like the words in my brain were censored before they even reached my throat. All things personal to me, all the aspects of myself felt embarrassing and wrong, fodder to be humiliated for. The thrill of a video game romance, the concept of openly wanting and being openly wanted, was exciting and mortifying.
The escapism of this imagined bucolic setting and of love and nearness to others, where being open and vulnerable is as simple as giving gifts and with a press of a button having something to say to someone. In life I struggled with my words, with relationships and being open with people. Even now talking about myself often feels like my innards are on display and I will be laughed at for it. I’m working on it.
Five years goes so fast and so slow. Forays into dating have left me hurt and confused. Coming out left some bruises. And in times of change like these, where people and friends who I wished would stay close forever have to move on and out into their lives, I think it’s easy for me to feel disheartened and stagnant. Like everyone’s caught in some big autumn but leaves me right where I’ve always been, a green leaf.
But I have changed. I came out to all the people I wanted to be out to, from whom I risked rejection. I’ve grappled with religion, with existential dread, with dating, even after I’ve been hurt. It sucks to have to go out there and meet new people and start over fresh when it feels like it takes me years to be myself around others. But those years have to start somewhere. My closest friend now I only really got to know five years ago. Who knows what five years more will look like.
I know that making a comparison between a real life concept with one that appears in a video game is sometimes seen as silly, but as this is a Stardew Valley blog it seems a fitting way to end. This is my year one again, with the sometimes cold people and the first flower dance. Even if I’m geographically in the same place, I’ll start fresh and there’ll be plenty of characters to know. One frantic day at a time.
I should learn to fish.

So, after getting the bad news about my neck, I spent a few days in bed, depression-playing Stardew Valley. Eventually I managed to get up and get to my real-life garden, which was sad-looking and neglected. I was very overdue for cleaning it up, weeding, clearing out the dead plants and covering it with mulch for the winter. I also went to plant some onions and garlic, I did plant a few broccoli earlier but it was immediately all eaten by slugs.
My highest priority was strawberries; they're the first thing I look forward to in the spring, and they've been overtaken by weeds and other big plants, overshadowed, and were generally looking very sad. I started clearing that stuff up, and immediately realized that I need a bucket to put slugs in, because they were so filled with slugs, and I mean, there were millions. Under every plant there was several families, they were hiding in the soil, laying eggs, hatching, it was a whole country in my strawberry bed.
It reminded me of the spring when I planted strawberries and beans together, and all of the beans ended up getting eaten by slugs. Also there were no slugs on other parts of the garden, where there were no strawberries. And now, clearing out the strawberry area, again, thousands of slugs.
This made me come to the conclusion that slugs,... love strawberries, and will multiply insanely on any area that I grow strawberries in. But, I love strawberries, and I allow them to grow on 70% of my garden, they're so small I can let them grow around everything else. Coincidentally, everything I planted in that garden for the last 5 months was immediately devoured by slugs. So this brings us... to a painful dilemma.
My garden used to not have a slug problem, in fact, last 3 years there were barely any slugs. And whenever there was a few, I could simply pick them out before they did any damage. The situation now is that slugs are here to stay, and they're staying in my strawberries, which I love. But, they are now going to eat the rest of my garden, repeatedly, before it even grows, unless... I take out strawberries.
I was trying to make this decision and I cannot do it, taking out strawberries is unmanageable, every spring I spend months just looking forward to strawberries and they're the center of my life. But.. I also need other food to grow at my garden. I can't just let slugs overtake everything forever, and having taken out 3 buckets, and my garden still getting eaten up, I know I can't keep fighting this.
So, what would you do?

Wanted to write something.. to test my skills of fanfic. Also this is for the Stardew Valley fans!
"Nothing Lasts Forever" A Stardew Valley AU made by Crimson.
[ Three TWs contains Mentions of Death, mentions of PTSD and finally... Character death. Now please enjoy this piece I made. ^^ ]
Cindy knew that her time was finally up, even though she knew that the loop would forever digest eternally. She was shaking, coughing and bleeding out from the wound of someone she may, or may not remember.. Her own visions can barely see a shadowed red and black figure with white eyes. She's barely trying to cover up her stab wound but she was already on her knees and coughed more.
Ugh... t-this is bad, really bad. She thought, her eyes slightly deepened a bit as she tried to get up. But she knew that the figure wouldn't let that happen. So Cindy remained still instead, but still clings on her scythe and her wound. She is now barely looking at the figure in a expression of hurt anger.
"Trying to get back up again I see?"
It said, it angers her like it was mocking her.
"Tried to, what could you possibly want from me?"
She said, while the figure hum quietly to tilt its own head a bit before slowly taking steps closer to her.
"You know exactly what I had to always do to you, little one. Not letting you avoid your own demise, that is it."
Her own vision is starting to make her lightheaded slowly, but Cindy is still trying to keep it up. Even despite she knows that avoiding her own demise is indeed hard for her, she still wants to stay alive.
She yells, her tone slightly weakens.
"Sebastian is waiting for me! Why can't you let me live now huh?!?"
The figure quietly giggle as it stopped its own tracks, a slow red smile is revealed in a somewhat slow wide. Cindy felt disgusted of it. Especially the rain is starting to go a little hard.
"You can't escape from the Seal of Loops, little one. Admit it, you can never ever end it. Not even once and twice. You can rest now..."
No..! She can't let that happen! Cindy is still trying to get up before the wound immediately made her fell to the wet grass grounds, while the blood is still bleeding slowly.. and herself? She now died, again.
The figure giggled very quietly, while taking some steps back to take a look at the corpse.
The corpse of the Loop Victim.
The figure knew that her friend is going to find her, and it already turned around before fading in stars.
And the rain still fell, while the corpse is remained the same dead moment. But the sounds were soon interrupted by a sound of crunches before—
"Cindy?—"
.
[ LOOP #6 death complete. ]
Sweet dreams, little one.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Cindy gasped, breathing heavily as she was now back to her own bedroom, again, again, again, again, and again.
She is going insane. She really is as she curled herself up, shaking.
She has to find that Seal, to end it once and for all. She had enough of the loops so much.
She doesn't care if death is still always lurking onto her.
She wants to end it all.
And that is final.

Kedreeva, have you ever burned out on fic writing - done it so much and for so long that you wake up one day, and just can't look at any fic writing at all?
I've been writing pretty much non-stop for the last 3 years, and I'm exhausted with it, to the point where thinking about it makes me physically sick. I need to take a break, but I'm scared that my writing won't ever come back, that I've 'broken' my hobby for good.
Do you or any of your followers have any advice? It's such a horrible feeling, to lose something that's been such a huge part of my life for so long. I don't know what to do with myself.
I don't really burn out on the act of writing as a whole. I can get sick of a story, or a fandom, but I have always felt a deep desire to write something. At most, I might take a few days, or up to a month (sometimes post-nano, I do get tired of the story I was writing), and just pick something else to do, some other hobby of mine. A video game or a virtual pet game or something. Clean stuff. lay in the grass if it's nice. The writing will be there when I come back.
But even so, what I can tell you is that you can't break your hobby of writing. You can leave it, you can put it down, you can decide never to do it again. You may get rusty on some of the skills, but it's a skill like any other skill, and it will come back to you when you pick up practicing again. You may need to exercise the muscle memory to get back into shape, but that's just how any skill works. Writing isn't some mystical talent you use or you lose. It's a thing you learned how to do and then practiced doing for a while. And you can do that again any time!
so... my advice would be this. Don't just Not Write. Not Writing is a symptom of writing. You don't stop writing by Not Writing. If you want to take a break, pick up something else to be doing. Get a video game you can get lost in for a while like animal crossing or stardew valley or whatever the kids are into these days. Pick up some books to read. Get into a new show or rewatch an old one you love. Pick some other skill or hobby you wanted to learn and do that badly for a bit. It doesn't really matter what, and you don't have to pick one thing and stick with it forever or anything. Just give yourself an actual break doing something else.
the writing will be there when you are ready to come back for it.

Little thing I wrote for @enden-agolor’s Stardew Valley AU (posting it before I lose my nerve and it just sits in a doc forever)
-
A new farmer had moved to town.
Well…”new” was sort of relative. He’d been living there for almost a year already, but Lukas hadn’t actually met him yet. He’d seen him around, obviously, but they’d never spoken.
He’d heard plenty, though. People talked; he’d heard all about how sweet and helpful the new farmer was. He was a ray of sunshine, he’d overheard Petra say once. Apparently he was trying to fix the old Community Center on top of running his farm.
Lukas didn’t want to be rude to a guy he’d never met, but that sounded like a stupid idea. The building had fallen into disrepair for a reason; it was honestly a miracle that it hadn’t been torn down or turned into a Joja warehouse yet.
If anything needed that sort of attention, it was the library. Several books were missing from the shelves. Lukas had already read everything there at least twice, even the books he hadn’t been fond of the first time.
He had just checked his third-favorite book out again when he noticed the heavy snow falling outside. It had been snowing when he walked over, but now the flakes were bigger and he was sure to get soaked if he tried to walk home, not to mention that he could barely see three feet in front of him. He’d have to wait until the snow got at least a little lighter.
Lukas sighed, pulling his coat tighter around himself and standing under the overhang. The library was closing soon, otherwise he would just wait inside.
Hopefully it wouldn’t take too long. It was cold and he really needed to start making dinner.
He watched the snow drift down in big, fat flakes. It was pretty, even if it was incredibly inconvenient. The peace was nice, though.
Of course, it didn’t last long.
The quiet was interrupted by footsteps crunching in the snow as a bulky figure approached. Lukas looked down at the book in his arms, hoping that whoever was coming toward him wouldn’t try to make conversation.
“Oh, hi! I didn’t see you there!”
No such luck.
Lukas glanced up without moving his head. The farmer was standing there, holding a book of his own. There were snowflakes stuck in his messy hair and he had a wide grin on his face.
“I’m Jesse! I don’t think we’ve met yet,” he said, shifting the book to one arm and holding his hand out. “I’ve been trying to meet everyone in town. I thought I had, but I guess not! You’re Lukas, right?”
Lukas stared at the man’s hand. How he was so cheerful, especially in the freezing cold, Lukas didn’t understand.
“Petra was telling me about you,” he continued, oblivious to the fact that Lukas hadn’t actually acknowledged him at all yet. “She said you’re pretty shy, but that’s okay.”
He realized that Jesse probably wouldn’t leave until he’d said something. “…Hello.”
Impossibly, the man’s grin got brighter. “It’s nice to meet you.” He seemed to realize that Lukas wasn’t going to shake his hand and dropped it back to his side.
“I should be getting home now,” Lukas said, barely glancing at Jesse before clutching his book closer to his chest and walking off. It was still hard to see where he was going, but it was better than standing next to the human sunshine until the snow died down. He didn’t want to make any conversation.
“See you around!” Jesse called. Lukas just trudged through the snow a little faster.
He knew he’d see the farmer around again, obviously, but the more he could avoid that, the better.

Three Houses notes
I loooove the smoke smell I don’t care what the haters say. such an excellent layer added. we are not using scent enough in the theatre.
so easy for me to forget that I think Malloy writes just awesome straight dialogue. the conversation between Wolf and Susan at the top of the show is just juicy.
shedding a single tear (from each eye!) during my first time hearing The Berries and the Plums versus my open weeping during my second watch. seriously what a fucking song. (the strain on “I can’t leave now” is going to live in my head forever)
Scott Stangland… ough. I love these sorts of characters who manipulate the story whilst appearing in it. I just could not keep my eyes off him.
the game being an amalgamation of The Sims and Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley is like extremely funny to me, a very online take by Dave Malloy
I generally hate all puppets but could cope with these. I liked how the main performers did the puppetry. don’t get how Mia Pak is doing that with her voice though?!
I find Sadie’s story the most compelling, and Beckett’s the least; but it’s the most personal and thus was the biggest swing. the only song I disliked was “Stones”, actually.
the Wolf/Beckett relationship should’ve been a combination of the dynamic that Wolf had with both Susan and Sadie, which is to say, it should’ve been erotic hostility
Henry Stram and Ching Valdes-Aran are secretly carrying this piece on their backs
favorite song from each: The Berries and the Plums (Susan), Haze (Sadie), Love Always Leaves You in the End (Beckett). need recordings of these songs right now or my head is going to explode.
set design by dots… save me dots… save me
I think the issues I have with the book would’ve been sorted out by Malloy having a harsher collaborator, but Tippe is such a killer director of this piece so I can’t even concern myself with it. and I don’t have any issues until the end! so it’s fine!
Sadie diving into Wolf’s arms during the dance. oh I sincerely felt myself tearing up. what a choice!
I do really, really dig it. would love to see it again in a few months or years but wonder if public notions of the pandemic make it so we aren’t able to see this staged again. but it still feels raw and affecting right now - I just don’t know if everyone felt the same way?
Dave Malloy’s next piece will certainly ruin my life. I can’t wait for it!

Hi hello yes
Uhhhh
ALSO TRIGGER WARNING!
Talking bout a bit of abuse stuff and will probably pull up some long dormant frustrations regardless of your stability rating
If you're having a bad day or are "fine" but not fine please scroll by and have a nice day
This is gonna be a little crazy for a sec but please stay with me bc it's worth it
You know how in some games (stardew valley for example) your relationship with a character is measured with a single number, let's call that X bc it's a variable, if [person] likes the thing you did you get +relationship points (higher X value) while doing things theu don't like does the opposite, - relationship points (lower X value)
There's nothing wrong with this is games, in stardew valley it's very simple and does its job well
(I promise I'm building to something)
In games like Fallout New Vegas your reputation with the various factions is represented with two variables, infamy and fame, infamy is gained by doing things the faction disapproves of (stealing, helping their rivals, murdering their members), fame is gained by helping thee faction (doing quests for them, helping them with stuff, etc)
Because the game uses two variables which I'll now refer to as I for imfamy and F for fame, paints a much better picture of your relationship with a group of people, because you can't loose infamy or fame, once you get those points they're there forever
(FNV players I know about the midgame switch, I'm making a point)
If you have very high infamy and no fame they hate your guts
High fame, low infamy, they idolize you
That's how it'd be in most games but if you have high fame and got caught pickpocketing more than a few times then they consider you a "good natured rascal"
Overall a very dynamic system
In reality a lot of people, especially those with abusive tendencies will feel guilty about how they treat others and "make up for it"
No ammout of gifts or "I love yous" can make up for certain things, I won't tell you why but I know firsthand why
If someone in your life upset you then you should allow yourself to be mad at them for as long as you need, if they tell you to get over it then they're just not very mature.
Just because you forgive someone for their actions doesn't mean that you have to forget about them too
Please understand that if this sounds like anything that happened to you in your life, you ARE NOT the problem
If you've done something like that to someone else I need you to think about what happened, because from the other point of view, you're a bomb that goes off every so often and it's best just to avoid it for as much of the day as possible and to brace for impact when it's coming
What the fuck do I mean by that? Let's say most of the times you go near your parent/boss/person with power over you and they yell at you/assign you a task you don't wanna do/anything negative for you
How would you respond?
You avoid them!
For parents who are actually trying, look, parenting is really hard, but please, you're just as human as your kids, remember that just because you've been alive for longer doesn't mean you will always know what's best for them
Also speaking from experience, the two worst things you can do to your kids is to make them think they can't be themselves around you or them fearing you
If you wanna see them again after they graduate high school,
Because IRL there's more variables to a relationship than I can count!
If you think it's just one then you're very wrong and need to have some long talks with the people you care about and maybe a therapist
If you sum it up to two, good stuff and bad stuff, that's better
But
Life isn't a game, as much as I wish it was (fuckin wish I could quicksave/quickload)
You are allowed to fuck up, but if you take nothing away from this, if you hurt someone the best way to deal with it is to admit your mistake and say sorry, it may be hard, they may yell at you, but life is rarely easy, and the things worth doing are rarely easy, you're allowed to make mistakes but please, admit when you're wrong and when the time comes, face the music.
