the way terra gets sent onto the fucking galactic federation ship makes NO SENSE like suddenly he just starts getting magnetized into the underbelly of the ship (is it gravity???) and then suddenly he ends up in jail WHAT.
Tumblr media
ah yes "swept onboard" more like hurls into the underbelly of the ship and it fades out like. what.
also i love how they dont show terra breaking out of the cell. he just pulls out his keyblade and then the next shot hes out like can you just show it like a normal person.

Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix Recap: Atlantica (Part of Your World)
Upon unlocking Magnet, you automatically unlock the next “episode” of Atlantica’s story.
You’ll see no immediate change upon disembarking to Atlantica’s only save point.
To begin the next chapter, you must speak to Flounder, and agree to try and move the statue again.
So begins “Chapter 2: Part of Your World”.
After the chapter title fades out, the camera pans down to Ariel, despondently drifting near the shipwreck while looking up at the surface.
“Ariel!” Sora calls out, before swimming up alongside Donald and Goofy.
“We’d like ya to come with us, Ariel,” Goofy invites.
“Have we got something to show you!” Sora entices.
We next see Ariel and Flounder swimming into Ariel’s grotto. The trident imprint that revealed the Keyhole in the first game is still there.
But more importantly, the statue of Prince Eric is now in the middle of the room.
“It’s a pretty cool statue, huh,” Sora remarks.
“It looks like some kinda Prince,” Donald adds.
“A prince!?” Ariel questions as she examines the statue.
Sebastian, meanwhile, is quietly stressing out in the background.
This song’s musical challenge is to score five or more Excellents in a row.
You get an Excellent by pressing the button prompt with near-perfect timing, when the timing gauge is in the yellow.
If you get a Good or a Bad, the combo will be broken.
“Part of Your World” does NOT reuse any of the audio from the original movie. It instead uses an entirely different instrumentation, though Ariel’s VA does a great job of reciting the lyrics. Don’t know if she also voiced Ariel in the movie or not, even if the Kingdom Hearts series has a pretty impressive track record with the (still living) original voice actors. Remember how the first game had Alice and Wendy’s VA reprise BOTH her roles?
Ahem, regardless, while the gameplay’s still pretty bad, this version of Part of Your World is still a good song to listen to, and the cutscene that accompanies it in the background is endearing.
“What do they call ‘em? Ah! Feet!” is now accompanied by Ariel grabbing onto Goofy’s flippers, for example.
But back to the gameplay once you’ve hit the target combo at least once, you don’t need to worry about any further misses, unless you want to reach the objectives recorded in Jiminy’s Journal for completion’s sake. Such as unlocking the Secret Ending.
There’s also still bubbles to pop, but they don’t function any differently than regular notes, and thus the only purpose they serve is to cause a hilarious animation hiccup in a later game. I’ll tell you about it when we get to Melody of Memory.
After successfully completing the song, Sora reminds Ariel that they’re here to help her out, although Sebastian urges the Junior Heroes to stay out of it.
“Look who’s talking,” Sora snarks.
“Yeah, you were gonna tell her dad about it!” Donald reminds him.
“Oh, what am I going to do?” Sebastian wonders as he grips his head.
Ariel continues to admire the statue.
Later, King Triton and Sebastian meet in the former’s throne room.
“You’re late Sebastian,” King Triton points out via text box, “Is something?”
“No. Nothing, Your Majesty,” Sebastian assures him, before swimming up to him.
“That’s good,” King Triton notes, “So tell me – how is the song for the musical coming along?”
“It is finished, Your Majesty!” Sebastian exclaims, before the camera cuts to an angle looking up at the ceiling from behind the throne, “And it celebrates all de wonderful things found here in de ocean. It will be my finest work!”
“Will it get Ariel’s mind off the human world?” King Triton asks.
“Er, yes… well… Probably… Possibly…”
King Triton glares at him.
“I-I mean, most definitely!” he corrects, “Excuse me, Your Majesty, but I must rehearse… you understand.”
Sebastian hurriedly swims off.
Back in the Undersea Courtyard, Ariel is still lost in thought as Sora, Donald, and Goofy look on.
“This is terrible!” Sora observes, “We’ve got to do something.”
“She can’t be in the musical like that,” Goofy points out.
“I’ll sing her part instead!” Donald offers.
“No way! Not a chance!” Sora shuts down, apparently sharing the fandom’s opinions on Donald’s singing voice in this game.
“What? Why not!?” Donald asks, either unaware or uncaring of the pain his singing voice causes in this game specifically. Seriously, what’s with that? Donald’s sung in PLENTY of other works, but it’s only THIS game where it sounds grating to me!
“Hey, it’s Sebastian,” Goofy points out.
The crustacean of the hour swims up with a scroll in one of his pinchers.
“Dis will never work…” Sebastian despairs.
Sora asks what’s up, and Sebastian reveals that he’s composed a perfect song for the musical.
But he thinks it’s gonna be too complicated for the Junior Heroes.
“Aw c’mon!” Sora replies, “How hard can it be?”
The camera fades to black.
When it fades back in, a completely befuddled Sora, Donald, and Goofy are struggling to make sense of the directions they’ve been given.
“Uh oh…” Donald helpfully remarks, before the screen fades to black.
Upon getting booted back to the Gummi Ship, you are alerted that you’ll need the Drive Gauge to be 5 or more before the Junior Heroes will be able to play their parts in the musical.
However, you can also return to Atlantica, swim past all the NPC’s in the Undersea Courtyard, and go through the Loading Zone to access King Triton’s Throne Room, where King Triton is swimming around, and there’s two Puzzle Pieces to collect, one above each of the “torch” things behind his Throne.
I’m only alerting you to this because you CANNOT access King Triton’s throne during story events, and thus I was always under the impression that the Undersea Courtyard was the ONLY visitable area in Atlantica.
With that, we’ve got one more Disney World to go before returning to Traverse Town.
All I can say is, you’d better Be Prepared.
-
So we’re still in the middle of the little mermaid story but other stories are more complete. Inch resting.
Also re: that last bit: Ohoho?

Hi Em, how are you?
I have questions for W&D Wednesday if that’s okay🙈
Does being a child of the damned or the light mean that child’s parents are demon or angel? With Takashi being a child of the damned, does that mean his father is demonic? For some reason I originally thought Takashi was a descendant and Ryuji was Azenean.
Why is Ryuji’s father so cold towards his son and hates all magic users? Are the Zenko family Nobles or work under Takashi’s father?
When Ryuji is tasked to hunt down magic users, how do they track them? Do they leave a sort of magical signature or footprint whenever they preform magic?🤔
How did Ryuji get his characteristic scar under his eye?
How did they mistakenly kill Ishida’s sister, Sora, as a magic user if she wasn’t one?
Where was Ishida when this all went down? What happened when he found Sora?…if it’s not too big of a spoiler😅🙈
I was reading your OC-tobers.…again🤭😅, they’re very addictive… what happened after Ryuji lost consciousness in the burning building??😱 Does Ishida save him?
I really didn’t mean for these to be Rishida focused. It just sorta happened 😅. I’m missing these boys.
I hope you have a good day. You’re a gem💜
Hello buttercup!!! and HOLY MOLY I'M ON CLOUD 9!!! This is amazing!! Let's get into these answers! 😆🤗
I apologize for the length up front...😅🙈
1. Technically speaking, both Children of the Light and Children of the Damned are “descendants of angels and demons.” And the angelic/demonic blood (or power) gets passed down genetically. So Takashi’s Father is demonic, but not a “demon” in the traditional sense of the word (like the monstrous ones). The Han demonic family line goes back generations. I hope that makes sense!
Also! You are not crazy! Originally, Takashi was a descendent, and Ryuji was Azenean. However, as I wrote the story and developed it, I changed it. Mostly because Takashi was born with powers…therefore, he needed to be a direct Child of the Damned. Ryuji was changed because I adjusted his family background to fit in with the story and in order to have his backstory make more sense tied in with Takashi’s a Drele fit better than an Azenean. :)
2. The Zenko family does work under the Han family. They were a noble family that joined forces under the Han family. Ryuji’s Father has always hated magic users because he feels threatened by them and is envious of their powers since he himself doesn’t have any powers. So when he hears that the Han family doesn’t want anyone to threaten their control over the lands, Ryuji’s father offers to create and train a group of Assassins to hunt and kill all the magic users.
3. Because the Han family controls much of Nubik territory, they have spies and soldiers constantly walking around who would see magic users and give out their locations. Magic signatures can only be traced and felt by other magic users. In some cases, they would use other magic users to help track down their friends. But for the most part they just gathered intel on where they lived and went from there. And even as magic users tried to go into hiding, people would rat them out to try and stay in favor with the Han family (and avoid punishment).
4. Ryuji got his scar under his eye after he tells his Father he is quitting being an Assassin and basically that he thinks what his father is doing is wrong. And his Father back hands him. 😤The family ring his father wears, cuts under his eye.
5. Ryuji was not told who the target was. Only that there was a magic user that lived in the house on the hill. This was his first mission and the team was reluctant to have him with them so they didn’t give him any information. In fact, when they arrived at the house, Ryuji was told to keep watch from another hill top & to shoot his arrow if necessary. Minutes in, Ryuji heard and saw explosions coming from the house, he saw the leader of the assassination team come out and a person (he did not realize it was a child) firing magic explosions at him. So, to protect his comrade, he fired. When he came down from the hill, he saw that it was a young child and he saw the broken glass. Horrified, he realizes that she was throwing potions, she was not the magic user. He’s completely distraught over this mistake, but the team doesn’t care. “It’s one less magic wannabe” is what they tell him. But when Ryuji returns home, he tells his father he is quitting the team. Unable to cope with his mistake. Furious about his son’s embarrassing behavior, Ryuji’s father sends him to a Warriors Academy. Where he meets Takashi. 🤗
6. The “flashback” scene about what happens to Sora (and how Ishida responded to it) is written here 😊
7. Takashi goes to get help and tells Ishida that Ryuji had gone back into the burning building to save the young girl. When they see the building has collapsed, Ishida digs through the rubble and nearly uses all of his magic to heal Ryuji when he finds him. ♥️
THANK YOU SO SO SOOOOOO MUCH FOR SENDING THESE IN!!! 😘😘😘 I hope I was able to answer everything for you!! If you have more questions or want me to clarify more things let me know!!
I'm gunna tag the rest of the W&D gang because I figured you guys may have the same kinda questions or may wanna know

oranges and unicorns
@hallowed-nebulae
What would it be like, Xion wonders, to live a life before this one?
To wonder what was more real, a current life or the memories from before? ...maybe she does know it’s like for Xehanort and Ruse. Because that’s what happened with her and Sora, how she doubted her realness because of the memories she carried from Sora.
..her friends helped her discover who she was, outside Sora. Because Sora never became friends with them, thought he befriended (still befriends) so many others.
That’s what happened with Ruse too, with Namine and herself. Among others. That’s must have what happened.
...but what about Xehanort? Do they have friends that support them? There is Ven and Terra and Vanitas, and they seem helpful. Especially Vanitas, he and Xehanort seem close. Oh, that’s good then! They do have friends!
But talking to them would probably still be good.
“Do you know where Xehanort is?” Xion asks Ruse.
Ruse looks up from her orange, peels in her mouth as she slowly blinks at Xion.
“Sure you don’t want to know where Vanitas is?” Ruse teases, after swallowing the peels down with a noisy gulp.
Her cheeks warm as she looks away from those knowing red eyes. “Uh-! He was nice, but...I don’t want to be overbearing! What if he’s like you and doesn’t like that kind of thing?”
Those same red eyes soften. “That’s a good point. What if I check for you? None of ‘em will think you’re interested, and then get embarrassed to be around you.”
Xion twists her hands together. “I would appreciate it.”
That’s what you’re supposed to say about that sort of thing, right?
“Okay.” Ruse gives a firm nod, tossing her orange up and down. “Let’s go find Xehanort!”
Finding Xehanort doesn’t take long. She’s in the big open part of the castle with the glass windows, talking with unicorn-man. Ira, that’s his name. The light comes through in all different colors through the fixed up glass, breaking apart on Xehanort’s face.
Making her look like...a rainbow. Or a quilt. Not anything broken, just pieces that are fitting together like they’re meant to.
“Heya!” Ruse speaks first, takes the attention so Xion can look the pair over some more. It’s what they usually do, and Xion is forever grateful for it. She should be over needing to be so careful, this isn’t the Organization, but...Xion might always need to watch and look before she can speak.
Ira the unicorn man merely gives a polite nod in their direction. Xehanort stops talking, looking a little nervous. Oh, the unicorn mask is so very elaborate! Her fingers itch to fold herself a mask just like it out of paper. Or a unicorn head!
“What do you want?” Xehanort asks.
Ruse peels off an orange slice. Two. Tosses them in Ira’s and Xehanort’s direction. Xehanort fumbles but manages, Ira catches the offered slice without even a blink.
Ruse’s way of trying to make them feel welcome, Xion knows. It’s just like how she brought Xion to the Twilight Town bakery after Xion...cried about being a fake. Left the Organization, in exchange for a hug and treats. ...That makes her sound like a easy mark, doesn’t it?
(No, it’s more than that. It was the comfort offered, the truth after so many lies. A promise that Ruse offered and has fulfilled, many times over.)
“Soooo,” Ruse draws out. “What’s Vanitas’ thoughts on a one time date? Hypothetically?”
Xehanort chokes. Looks up from the orange she’s been examining suspiciously. “Is this a bribe? Is that why you gave this to me?”
Ruse laughs. Throws her head back in an exaggerated fashion. “No, of course not! Everyone deserves food and that food is just to say hi! The question’s separate, yes or no?”
“...you would have to ask them,” Xehanort says.
“Alright. Sounds good to me.”
Xion rubs her tongue against the back of her teeth. So maybe she has a chance? Just maybe?
“You are the same kind,” Ira says, out of nowhere. He’s not looking at the orange or eating it. Just holding it. “Both of you are Dream Eaters.”
Ruse looks taken aback. “Uh, yes?”
Xion nods her head. Waits for him to say more. Looking him over, in his bright robes and with his hidden face.
Xehanort looks them over closely with grey eyes. “Both of you? You’re Dream Eaters?”
Ruse tilts her head back and forth. Xion speaks up. “Yes. Also known as Replicas, more specifically.”
“Replicas?”
“That means we were supposed to be other people,” Ruse helpfully adds. “Both of us were made in the image of other Keyblade wielders. To make more Keyblade warriors, you know?”
Ira inhales. “How foolish. Taking on a Keyblade should be a choice, not something forced on a child.”
That seems...personal. Xion looks him over carefully.
Ruse shrugs in forced causality. “It turned out okay in the end. Xion’s got her changing face and she’s not forced to be Sora. And I’m not a Riku, Riku’s my brother instead.”
“...do you have a Keyblade?” Xehanort asks. “I saw Xion with one. But not you.”
Ruse scratches at her scars. “Nope. Not for me.”
“Ruse, if you want one, I can help,” Xion offers. Because there was that old book with the story of passing on Keyblades. If Xion could get a Keyblade, Ruse could too.
“Not for me,” Ruse repeats with more heat. “Besides, you know what Even says about my Heart and stuff. Not strong enough to support Keyblade experiments and all that, leave it be.”
That’s true. Xion nods as Ruse offers her an orange slice. She accepts, bringing it up to her mouth. The fruit is tart. Good.
While Xehanort and Ira are still digesting what Ruse said, it’s Xion’s chance to speak. To look carefully into Xehanort’s grey eyes. “See, we get it. You don’t have to be whatever you were before. You can be...a person. Whatever person you want.”
If Ruse can promise that and keep it, then Xion can too. Even for someone from a different universe, even someone with a past life.
Promise.

WAIT IF WE HAD SDRA2 boys w/ ult plushie maker little sibling making them plushies
WHAT ABOUT SDRA2 girls w/ ult fashion designer little sibling making them dresses? If you write this, that’d be great.
HE CK this is a cute concept!! I had this requested a few times so here you go! Also for this I’ll give the sibling an opposite personality to the plushie-maker (more extroverted and confident)
........
Emma
“Oh! This is a wonderful design, [y/n]!” The actress laughed as she twirled around in the dress, looking at herself in the mirror before turning back to you, still grinning. “I absolutely must wear this in my next movie! Thank you so much.”
You just smiled. “No problem, big sis Em. I heard you didn’t have anything like that in your wardrobe so...I figured I’d helped you out.”
“And you did help me, indeed!” Being so tall, she had to kneel down to hug you tightly. “I truly do appreciate it.”
When you hugged her back without hesitance, it only made her want to embrace you tighter and never let go. She never had the best family growing up, so when you met the highschoolers of Hope’s Peak and became attached to her, she stayed committed to being your protective and encouraging big sister figure.
“Well, I’m happy we could address that issue.”
Emma blinked in surprise, looking at you for a few moments, before she smiled laughed. “My jokes are finally rubbing off on you, huh? Hajime is going to love this!"
.......
Hibiki & Kanade
“You made these..for us?”
“Of course [y/n] did, idiot!”
“I-I was just asking! These must’ve taken an awful long time to do--”
"Hey um..big sis'?” You spoke up, smiling awkwardly. “I wanna see what they look like on you. Dresses aren’t gonna wear themselves, you know.”
Hibiki stared at you with wide eyes, stunned by your sarcasm, but she huffed and nodded, dragging her sister to the bathroom where they both got changed into the dresses you made for them.
You just waited patiently and when they finally returned, you grinned. “Do you like them? I tried to make the designs as identical as possible.”
"Like? I LOVE mine!” Hibiki grinned, clutching the hem of her dress that was lined with music notes. “We will wear these to our next concert, right Kanade?”
“That’s a good idea, Big Sis..” The guitarist smiled sweetly as she looked at you. “Thank you, [y/n].”
.........
Iroha
“E-Eh?? You made this..just for me?”
“Yep!” You smiled as you handed Iroha the dress, which was neatly folded and wrapped in plastic. “I tried to keep the pattern of your capelet so...you can try it on if you wanna.”
The painter seemed frozen on the spot, still in disbelief that you actually took the time to make her this. But when you cleared your throat to get her attention, she squeaked an apology and dashed off to go change.
You smiled and sat on the sofa, waiting for her return. And you noticed she left her sketchbook behind, seeing it was open on a page of some drawings--particularly ones of your favorite animal.
“I-I’m back! I really love this, [y/n]! Thank you.”
Quickly glancing back, you saw her in the dress. “I knew you’d like.....huh?” You saw her tearing up, sniffles escaping her, so you went over to hug her. “Hey, it’s okay, big sis. Just..don’t get any snot on the sleeves.”
“S-Sorry, I’m just..so happy to have a gift from someone.” She hugged you tightly.
Usually she’d be afraid of crushing you, but she was quite overwhelmed with emotion right now.
You were someone she could truly call family.
...........
Yoruko
You overheard the hostess complaining about getting harassed at her job because of her..promisc...promisc-something outfit.
While you didn’t know what that meant, you didn’t like seeing the person you looked up to as a big sister unhappy every time she came home.
So after she left again, that’s when you got to work making a lovely dress more befitting of her talent. It was similar to her usual blue outfit, with some minor changes, but you hoped she’d like it.
You got done just as she walked through the door, sighing tiredly. “What a pain...maybe I should go shopping for a new outfit-”
“No need to, big sis! Ta-daa~!”
Blinking in surprise, Yoruko saw the dress laying out on the table and gasped, running over to examine it. “Th-This is...” She felt the soft material, before looking at you, still stunned. “Wow..how long did this take??”
“Your whole shift.” You shrugged, putting your sewing tools away. “Hope it’s not too far off from your usual outfit.”
“O-Oh no I..I love it.” She smiled brightly. “I might just have this replace my old outfit because...well...you wouldn’t believe the rude things customers have said to me!”
With a small huff, she clutched the dress, before departing for the nearest room to change.
.............
Kokoro
“Hm? You made me this?” The psychologist briefly looked away from her tablet as you presented the silver dress to her.
She already knew you were quite skilled at this sort of thing--even anticipating you making her a dress because you viewed her as a kind and caring sisterly figure. But she couldn’t help but be impressed at your newest creation.
“Of course!” You smiled. “Just something comfortable for you to wear while you’re doing research and stuff.”
“...huh, I see. Well I appreciate the thought so I’ll try it on.” Taking the dress from your hands, she promptly left the room and returned shortly after.
You looked at her clapped your hands together. “I knew you’d like it! I see your smile.”
“...no idea what you’re talking about.” Despite her attempts at hiding her blush, it was clearly visible.
.........
Setsuka
“Hm? Whatcha working on now, kiddo?”
“Just a dress for you.” You hummed as you sewed on the last few gems, before smiling at your handiwork. “Aaaaand done!” Putting your tools away, you moved aside so you could show off the finished product.
Setsuka closed her cybernetic eye--having recorded some of your work for...safekeeping--as she looked over the dress. It was a lovely dark gray and crimson red with different colored gems that matched the colors of pool balls.
“Wow, I gotta say this is your best work yet! Thank you.” She held up the dress, before glancing at you. “May I try it on?”
“Absolutely, big sis!” You were practically bouncing in your seat, excited to see her reaction as she left to try it on. She returned a few minutes later, her smile growing as she looked into the mirror.
“It’s nice and comfy, just what I needed.” She chuckled. “I’ll be sure to wear this to my next tournament."
“Will I be able to see you there?”
“Sorry, I don’t think so. Maybe when you’re older..I doubt I’ll outgrow this dress by then.”
“Awh darn..well I’ll look forward to that day!”
........
Sora
"This was nice of you to make for me, [y/n]..you didn’t have to-”
“But I wanted to.” You insisted after you presented the dress to Sora. She had a knack for neutral colors, so you figured you could make a nice one out of that.
Something simple and sweet--just like her.
Even though she didn’t know what motivated you to work all night on this dress, she was still grateful you made her something, and so she went to try it on. And when she returned her smile only grew.
“This is quite nice,” she remarked, smoothing out the bottom of the dress before glancing up at you. “Thank you, I...kinda needed a change from my usual school uniform anyways.”
“I had a feeling you did.” You could only chuckle. “Only the best for my big sis!”

For the niche ask game: Terra, Repliku, and Namine
FUCK YEAH THANK U OK
I'm gonna skip the smell question bc I literally do not know what to say abt that for anyone
Terra my beloved
• Song that reminds me of them: the only song I've ever associated with him is.. apparently Apocalypse by Sleeperstar according to my spotify playlist for him
• An otp: tbh,, I dont actually ship Terra with anyone
• A notp: anything w the minors and also,,, lowkey Terraqua,,, just bc I dont see them like that but since there's So Much of it its just. Yknow. I'm v sorry Terraqua enjoyers u do u
• Favorite platonic/familial relationships: I enjoy his relationships w Aqua and Ven so much....... AND WITH RIKU their interactions are so good
• Popular headcanon I disagree with: HES NOT THAT DUMB. PLEASE I know its just a fandom joke but I could go on and on abt how the way he was raised and how the total lack of proper guidance fucked him over so so bad but also there was no fucking way for Terra to figure out the stuff happening behind the scenes. Not once does he actually assist the villains without rightfully believing hes doing the right thing, the closest exception I can think of being when he helps Hook bc yeah that dude is pretty shady but he was asked to protect the chest, and only attacked in defense of it - something that is a defining trait of Terra, and his whole job is to protect the light which is vague as fuck so can u really blame him for thinking some of it was in a chest for some reason, plus Peter Pan is kind of a bitch so u can't really fault him for that fight anyway. And don't talk to me abt the sleeping beauty incident bc that wasn't his fault (although I admit its kind of funny that he just,, left) AND the entire Xehanort arc. Dont even get me started if Eraqus just let Terra know that Xehanort is up to shit instead of telling Aqua to spy on him and TELLING TERRA TO FIND XEHANORT WITHOUT ANY CONTEXT WHATSOEVER ALLOWING XEHANORT TO MANIPULATE HIM WITHOUT ANY TRUE HINTS ABOUT HIS MOTIVES we could've avoided like at least half the shit that went down in this game I swear I would've killed this old man with my bare hands. Anyway what was the question
• The position they sleep in: he takes up like 3/4s of any bed without trying i just know it.. and he seems like he'd be very warm. Sleeping next to him is absolute hell in the summer
• A crossover I'd love to see them in: does kingdom hearts itself count as a crossover considering all the d*sney and ff characters.. I just wanna see more Terra
• My favorite outfit theyve worn: how DARE u make me choose between his glorious flowy pants that I desperately want for myself and one of the best armor sets in all of kh.. but I'm going with his keyblade armor purely bc of that one shot thats just like. Terrass. Yknow the one
Repliku
• Song that reminds me of them: oh god I feel so strongly about this. I have a whole (very self indulgent and incomprehensible) playlist for them but I'm gonna say specifically Last Of Me by CircusP
• An otp: ok I wanna say Replinami. But. I've grown so attached to the idea of Repliku n Roxas being together its ridiculous
• A notp: w any adults obviously, and Riku and Replitwo. They're Siblings
• Favorite platonic/familial relationships: on that note I'm very very soft for their sibling relationships w those two. Whenever I think abt the kh3 Riku n Repli scenes I cry. Also love the idea of them being friends w Xion and Vanitas. And Sora..
• Popular headcanon I disagree with: are there,,, really any popular headcanons abt Repliku? I can barely find any for them to begin with lmao but I CAN say they're not cishet. Bi transfem Repliku my beloved
• The position they sleep in: considering how their life has been plus how touch starved they are, they usually curl up into a ball and/or hold something close to them
• A crossover I'd love to see them in: does my idea of showing them Pokemon The First Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back as a form of therapy and/or enlightenment count. Ok but i actually wanna see them interact with Mewtwo for better or worse i think it'd be fun
• My favorite outfit theyve worn: I've talked enough abt the darksuit for this one to be obvious I think
Naminé
• Song that reminds me of them: ooooh this is a hard one...... I'm gonna say Worlds Apart by Seven Lions
• An otp: Namixi and Replinami are both very very good
• A notp: any adults, n im not rly a fan of her being w any of the destiny trio or Roxas
• Favorite platonic/familial relationships: on that note again i Do enjoy her general relationships with the above four.. and I like her dynamic with Axel/Lea tbh. And the idea of her and Terra being friends is vv neat. And I think she'd have a funky friendship w Vani. She has so many friends!! good for her, good for her
• Popular headcanon I disagree with: I cant think of anything in particular I disagree with I just think she should be allowed to kill people (read: Ansem TW)
• The position they sleep in: similar to Repliku, but she prefers being surrounded by something (whether it be pillows, weighted blanket, etc)
• A crossover I'd love to see them in: I think Naminé, Lunafreya from ffxv and Lillie from pkmn should meet.. they're sisters now
• My favorite outfit theyve worn: theres uh. Not a lot of options here (but all the fan made outfits ppl make for her are so epic and cool i love em)

*A few minutes later, a car pulls up down the street*
Tumblr media
Oh, that looks serious...
Tumblr media
Oh my...
Tumblr media
Then, I shall go and speak with them promptly.
Tumblr media
Are you crazy, princess?! They’ll rip you to pieces!
Tumblr media
I will not simply stand by and do nothing!
Tumblr media
Sonia, think about this! If you get hurt, not only will you not be able to help save the others, but this could start a diplomatic incident with Novoselic.
Tumblr media

Sokai AU cause unfathomable reasons.
Prompt:
The sandy grains of home were carried by the beach’s breeze in the night, before carefully dropping down and remaining still as the dark cloaked the earth but kept the heavens abright.
Sora and Kairi lay on the cooled sand opposite the other, their faces side by side but upside down from one another, looking up at the sky.
Sora had just finished talking about all the different worlds he’d been too, and Kairi finished mundane talking about life back home and school, some friend chit-chat here and there about their lives and what they’ve been up to… but nothing compared to the glittering hues of blue, purple, and green that sprinkled itself like a paint brush across the skies, in ribbons of glory, only being drowned out by the light radiating in their hearts… the only distraction on this otherwise beautiful galaxy seen in the night.
The two were chuckling quietly beside the other, before Kairi lifted a hand to point at the moon, “Look! It’s teasing the sea again.”
“Teasing?” Sora looked up, dumbfounded, “How?” He scooted his head a little closer to hers, but kept his eyes on the moon. “It looks like a glowing rock to me.”
“That doesn’t mean it doesn’t have it’s own attraction, though.” Kairi also, ever so delicately, and being too shy to pay much attention to it, let her cheek tilt lightly towards his upside-down from her direction forehead as well.
He looked up, unable to help but notice the warmth from her body heat pierce the cold and soothe his growing need to be with her. In all his travelings, this feeling never waned. Even when he was young, he always wanted to be close to her… but it was never quite at potent as it had been when he returned so many years back.
“The waves pull and tug between their emotions for each other.” Kairi continued, digging her fingers into the sand and showing resistance, before letting go and scooting her palms to push the sand forward. It was similar in rhythm and movement as the tide, “It keeps trying to tell itself it’s not possible to reach the moon, but then it goes back to reaching for it again. It’s a beautiful love story, isn’t it?”
Sora peered up, pushing his head against the sand and letting his hair get messy to tilt his chin up and get a better angle at what her hands were doing behind him on the sand.
His own hands were on his stomach, and he moved them off to lean himself for a better view.
“You could just turn around, you know. Silly head.” Kairi giggled, and her laughter rang through like a bell to his ears, her being so close, the music of it delighted him into laughing himself.
“Haha, I know.” He laid back down, “I always thought the sun and the moon were a thing… Always chasing, never meeting.”
“The sun meets the moon, and vise-versa.” Kairi turned her head to him, “That’s when we get an eclipse-ah!” in that one, miscalculated moment… Kairi’s nose lightly hit against him.
She swiftly turned her head back up, covering the lower portion of her face as Sora could feel her cheek on his forehead warm up.
His eyes wanted to look, and lightly did a few takes, but he heard her sneeze and snicker quietly to herself. He was unaware that his hair had tickled her nose and caused her to sneeze, which she was laughing at. She felt it was a funny act, and played it off as such.
He closed his eyes and smiled, enjoying being with her again after all this time had passed. He reached up his hand to point directly across from her, since they were laying in front of the shoreline, but positioned at it’s right. His arm lifted up along the sandy beach to be above her own laid head and pointed out towards the ocean, “But then… don’t the moon and sea meet at the horizon?”
Kairi thought about it, turning her head away from him as he looked at the back of her head, his own mind racing with thoughts of her as she admired the twinkling stars reflected on it.
“It still must pine for more, though… don’t’cha think so?” when she turned her head back to him, he still had his head fully turned to her, so their eyes, although upside-down, were parallel to each other.
A galaxy left unexplored rested in the light of their own inner minds, swirling out in speckled stars within the color of their own hues…
“Y-yeah… guess it is kinda a lame story… huh?” Sora knew he had to speak but didn’t really want to reply, he was too invested in the warmth from her. “It’s warm.” he finally stated, before heat swarmed his own cheeks at blurting out his admiring thoughts.
He looked down and away, pulling in his lips at his embarrassing folly, but Kairi’s light breathing revealed her own ‘pull’ of attraction and her eyes batted and quickly looked away to try and sedate the sensation. “I-It is an island, Sora.” she smiled and closed her eyes, feeling his hair tickle her chin now that she was tucking it down and withdrawing slightly.
Her forehead brushed up against the corner of his nose and cheek again, and he could smell the salty breeze in it.
He smiled too, relaxing and closing his eyes… “Yeah… Or maybe I’ve caught something.”
“You’re sick?” She leaned her head back up, lifting it slightly off the grainy sand. “Are you sure?” She lightly touched his cheek and the cold dissipated into a soft, low burn that made his eyes widened slightly, his pupils dilated as she then touched her own cheek.
“...That’s not how you tell if someone’s warm or not.” Sora couldn’t help but grin widely like a fool, clearly in the depths of the sea, bathed in the light of the moon.
Kairi blushed a little and lowered her fingers that had pushed lightly against her own cheek, nervous… but as her eyes lowered and rose back to meet his, she nudged herself closer and put her cheek up against his.
It was so soothing he thought he could fall right to sleep and dream forever.
Who needs blankets?
“...Hmm… You feel warm.” she admitted, looking away as he saw her eyelashes from the framing of her eyes bat again. He couldn’t see where she was looking, but lightly moved his nose and felt her eyebrow’s hair glide against it.
“I feel cold... compared to you.”
The small, miniscule gesture could have gone completely unnoticed, but as though drawn to the touch, Kairi gently and also very carefully joined the nuzzling sensation, each moving in tiny increments as though trying to disguise from the other what they were experiencing.
There was a soft sigh… barely audible, and when Kairi opened her eyes, she felt too many static pulses and rose up, breaking off the sliding of their cheeks and tapping of their noses together, their foreheads sharing warmth and rubbing against the sand…
She covered her face again and then brushed herself off, almost as though pushing the feeling back and getting up.
Sora immediately leaned up too, worried he had done something wrong, and sat upon the sand while she put her hands behind her back, and walked back passed him.
“Kairi..?! I’m-!” he wanted to say he was sorry, in case he really did overstep something, thinking maybe he had frightened her and she caught on to his careful play, not realizing she was enjoying being close to him in her own hidden way too. “Are… you okay?”
His hand lowered to between his resting legs, seeing as she stopped walking just a small ways away from where they were previously laying.
“Em-hmm.” Kairi’s hair drifted as she paused her walk, falling up and then down to rest from the movement. She was looking still as the night… but beautiful, ever just the same… even though he could only see her back-view. Was she looking down? Away at something? Had he made her uncomfortable..?
He was wracked to his core, thinking she may have caught on to him, and didn’t know how to explain himself. He pushed down his lower lip again and furrowed his brow, regretting the poor moment of weakened judgement, “Em…” He was about to call out his supposed error and apologize, not wanting to let her go but keep by her side until she spoke out again.
“I’m just going to cool off at the pier. I got a bit… too warm… you’re just so full of heat, Sora!” she turned to tilt and twist her body back, closing her eyes and giving him the brightest smile.
He grinned too, surprised and not following what she was implying, but was glad she wasn’t leaving him behind.
He got up and raced to catch up to her as she waited for him and they both walked blissfully at peace by the other.
Sora put his hands behind his head as Kairi sat down at the edge of the pier, kicking her feet off and getting comfy.
She looked up at him and then the stars, which made him look down and back at her, deciding to sit next to her.
“Sora… The stars don’t change… people shouldn’t either.” She nodded, and he listened intently, looking back at her as he kept one knee raised up with it’s foot still on the pier, letting his wrist rest on it.
He studied her words and then nodded more enthusiastically back, strongly looking out towards the night sky full of stars too. “Yeah… but people don’t really change, they grow. Things get bigger… more…” he suddenly felt her fingers move over his resting hand...
His eyes twitched as though to blink but didn’t, he felt her pinkie and ring finger glide over his knuckles and then stop, inching with brief stops as though unsure if he was accepting this gesture or not.
He lifted his hand lightly, tilting it on it’s wrist, and allowed her fingers to curl under and hold him as he did the same, gripping them from underneath his palm.
Like a shell, closing under the pearl to blanket it, he lowered his hand back as though to lock her kind expression of affection there and not remove it from his side.
“Expanded..?” Kairi replied, looking away but nudging her head down cutely, realizing he was accepting the invitation.
The touch kept that flickering flame aglow, but strengthened it deeper in their hearts.
“Yeah…”
The two didn’t look at one another, possibly too embarrassed and shy to say anything, but it was clear they understood the other to perhaps like them mutually back as they secretly did the other.
But… was it so much a secret?
The two smiled in glee off from the other as Sora raised his other hand from his knee and scratched behind his head… this was something he’d always wanted to do… hold her hand… be there for and with her… but then-
Kairi tugged on his hand, pulling him down off the pier and into the water as he plummeted down, not letting go of her hand.
“Ahh!”
She laughed and gripped the pier with her free hand, turning her body as to not fall in.
He was half submerged from his waist down before flailing a bit to move back up towards the surface, but with her hand as an anchor, it wasn’t too hard to get back to the pier.
“Hey! What’s the big idea, Kairi?” he seemed startled, but that childish complaining made her laugh even more, trying to keep her strength about her and not laugh off the pier.
“Just cooling you off.” she had felt he was her moon, and she was thrusting him into the sea...
But to Sora, he was like the ocean… and this time-
A sly and playful smile spread across his face as he curled his fingers tighter into her hand, readying as he lifted his foot to the wood under the pier, holding it steady.
He was going to pull her into him.
“Then maybe you should join me!” he ripped her from the top of the pier and the two dived into together, Kairi twisting to face the sea’s surface but sinking down gently into the blue with her eyes closed from the impact.
Sora floated over her and opened her hand up to intertwined his own into it, and while her eyes squinted a moment from the shades of shadow and moonlight, she could see him eyeing her from above, as though asking permission.
Entranced by the dream-like floating, she opened her mouth slightly and pulled into him, and when he noticed her soft lunge for him, he joined it and the two shared a quiet, but heated declaration of affection…
Needing air again, Sora and Kairi released their holds, Sora pulling her from below and Kairi whisking her hands through his hair and moving from his head to holding from around his neck.
They both came up to the surface before Sora balanced his arms and swung them to keep himself afloat. Looking around, he reached up and grabbed the edge of the pier, then returned his determined arm to protectively holding Kairi up without her needing to kick or swim.
Hooked onto it, he looked down at her and skimmed his nose down the bridge of her own, making sure she was okay.
She bundled her hands to hide her face, peeking up at how close he was and tenderly surrendering to his hold… letting him keep her up from drifting into the push and pull of the waves again.
“Riptide.” Sora gently whispered out, “I hear they’re deadly…” He tried to be charming, but she splashed water in his face and grabbed the pier, pulling away from him and swimming off.
“Were you thinking I’d let you hold me all night?” She teased, sending the flame through the gunpowder wire and shooting him off like a rocket after her.
She laughed, before seeing him summon his keyblade and disappear under the water. She stopped and looked around, unable to see anything. Usually, the water was so clear during the day, but at night, it was like swimming through a mirror of the universe.
A large blast followed swiftly by her and she lifted an arm up while the raining splash pelted her quickly, and looking up, Sora had jumped and spun his keyblade to move swiftly through the water and double-jumped into a glide to find her.
He flew around her infinitely a few times, and she shook her head at his antics.
“Hehe… You gotta teach me how to do that.” She moved to swim towards the shoreline but he cut her off, aiming and positioning himself to lightly drift to the water like a swan to a lake. “H-hey..!”
He offered her his hand and she took it, then placed it on his shoulder and used his keyblade to propel them through the tide towards the shore.
“Quite a propeller you have there.” she teased.
“Would have come in handy when we had the raft.” He kid right back, and the two slugged their way out of the water, soaking wet, but enjoying the night, just the same.
“Maybe you could train with me tomorrow?”
“Why tomorrow?” Sora looked back at her but then realized she was asking him on a date. He flipped a little, wigging out but composed himself after a second and walked back up to her, gesturing his an awkward but excited hand as he spoke. “I-wah-oh-uh-y-yeah! That would be great! I’ll see you first thing tomorrow!”
She smiled, seeing he understood her. “Great, I’ll bring a picnic.”
“For breakfast?” he tilted his head, innocently naïve.
She chuckled into her hand, “No, goofball, for lunch. But if you’re that in a hurry to see me that you won’t at least have breakfast… then I’ll bring some of that too.” It would be a long but fruitful day tomorrow… in fact, the date might just last… for the rest of their lives~
He scratched the back of his head and smiled with a huge red streak across his face, and she darted up expertly to the side of him and delivered a farewell peck on his cheek, before rushing off and once again, covering the bottom-portion of her face with one hand as though unable to hide her feelings anymore.

Ice chips.
A whole paper cup full of them.
This was my current mission. My purpose. My whole reason for existence in this one very specific moment in time.
For if every wholesome, family-friendly sitcom from the 90s were to be believed, ice chips were like crack to women in labor - they just couldn't get enough of the stuff.
Why? No one knows, least of all me… okay, maybe doctors knew but if they did, not a single one had yet to clear up that little mystery for me.
The why didn't really matter anyway. All that mattered is that Rayne wanted them. And what Rayne wanted, Rayne got.
Especially when she was about to shove a brand new tiny person through her body and out into the world any second now.
...at least, in theory anyway.
I thanked the attendant at the nurse station and turned with the freshly secured cup of ice chips in hand, heading down the hospital wing back in the direction of Rayne's room in the delivery ward. As I hurried along, I anxiously ran my free hand down my frazzled braid, grimacing at all the little wisps coming loose before shifting to smooth my fingers along my rumpled dress that I'd been wearing since yesterday. Turning one last corner, my eyes immediately went to Rayne's door-
-only to be brought up short by the sight of fluffy, squishy, huggable reindeer plushie nearly twice my size already waiting politely outside it.
Well there was something you don't see every day.
It only took me a second to spot the shoes poking out underneath that had to belong to whoever was holding the thing from behind where I couldn't see them. I squinted.
I knew those shoes.
With a tiny, tired smile, I put one foot forward once more and approached the giant stuffed caribou with a lightly teasing, "If you're looking for the North Pole, you're off by about a couple thousand miles, Prancer. Or is it Blitzen?"
"Har, har. You're an absolute riot," came a voice from the other side of the massive doll. Though I couldn't see the eye roll, I could distinctly hear it in his tone.
Shaking my head with a soft snort, I dug my phone out of my pocket to check the time. "...1 p.m. already? Can't believe she's been in labor for nearly twenty-one hours." Twenty-one extremely long, extremely sleepless hours for the mother-to-be, not to mention all her loved ones here to support her. Tucking the phone away once more, I told him, "Thanks again for covering my early shift, I really appreciate it. Hope it wasn't too hectic of a morning over at the Ice Palace."
"Hey, don't mention it," Kristoff poked his blonde head up just over the plushie's shoulder. "If it's a choice between the two of us, it's no contest: Rayne'd much rather have you here with her than me." He paused, eyeing the closed door leading into her hospital room with a tiny frown. "...so, still no baby, huh?"
"Still no baby," I sighed, then tipped my head to one side. "Care to explain the reindeer? I didn't even know we made Svens in this size."
"We don't," he shifted his hold on the thing for a better grip. "We got a small batch to try and sell as a test run last year, but no one was really buying 'em. Still had a couple stowed away in back just gathering dust, so got the okay from Frozone to steal one for welcoming the new little Hewley into the world."
A grin pulled at my lips, "How sweet. I'm sure Rayne will love it." I then quirked an eyebrow at him. "...why were you just standing outside with it anyway? You know you could have just walked on in, right?"
His gaze darted to the door once again, then back to me. "...is the yelling still happening?" he whispered with a nervous little wince.
Now it was my turn to roll my eyes as I deadpanned, "It's the beautiful blessed miracle of life, Kristoff. Rayne's allowed to yell as much as she wants. Now come on, there's already one baby on the way, we don't need you being a big old second one." With that, I reached for the door knob, pushed it open and made my way inside.
And straight into the madhouse that was Rayne's hospital room.
"You did this to me, you bastard! I'm gonna KILL you for this, you smug son of a bitch!"
Ah, and there was Rayne now, shrieking her head off.
To be fair, if you'd been in labor for nearly a full day now, you'd probably be shrieking your head off too.
"Yes, hon."
And that'd be Riku, the absolute picture of patience and composure as he smiled lovingly through the abuse, both verbal and physical as Rayne's death grip just had to be murder on his hand right now. But he was soldiering through it like a champ.
Huffing and puffing, Rayne spat, "Don't you 'yes hon' me with that stupid, sexy, annoying, beautiful, infuriatingly perfect little grin of yours, pal! When I'm through with you, you won't have anything to grin about!"
"Yes, hon," he chuckled softly, gently sweeping a few of her messy bangs out of her face before pressing a light kiss to her sweaty temple.
"Oh-ho, no! None of that!" she snarled, narrowing her eyes at him. "It's stuff like that that started this whole damn mess, jerkface!"
"Yes, hon."
We were all handling being included in this special moment in Rayne's life a bit differently, each doing what we could to keep her happy and distracted from the contractions. As could be seen, Riku was doing his part by being a flawless model husband/punching bag combo. Sora-
"What does every moogle need in the morning?"
Sora was trying to make her laugh.
"A kup-o coffee!"
...and was doing a rather poor job of it.
As Rayne stared blankly up at him, Sora gave a tiny sheepish laugh from where he stood at the foot of her hospital bed as he scratched the back of his head. "That one was a dud, huh? Okay, okay, how about this one? What do moogles use when they go shopping? ...Kupons!"
More crickets from Rayne. This time accompanied with an unamused little eye squint.
Undeterred, Sora smiled brightly and held up his hands, "Wait, wait, I gotta million of these! What did one cactuar say to the other? ...looking sharp! What does a cactuar wear to a business meeting? ...A cac-tie!" Why did the chocobo cross the road? ...he was going for a wark!"
His new rapid fire approach did not seem to be helping matters.
"Alright, no, hang on, I'm gonna get you with this one for sure! You ready? Okay… Knock knock."
Rayne's eye twitched. Patting her hand, Riku obliged his cousin with a sigh, "Who's there?"
Barely able to contain his glee now, Sora replied, "Interrupting chocobo."
"Interrupting ch-"
"BWARK!" Sora crowed in delight.
The expecting mother-to-be looked just about ready to hurl the beeping heart monitor at him.
"Look, Ray, look!" Kairi suddenly chimed in, swiftly coming to her boyfriend's rescue as she shoved her phone in Rayne's face. For her contribution in keeping Rayne's mind off the pain, Kairi had elected to sit in the bed with her to provide cuddles and hundreds upon hundreds of pictures of adorable baby animals. "Aren't these little piggy-wiggies the freaking cutest?"
Frowning at the screen, Rayne said flatly, "...they'd look even cuter in the form of crispy bacon on a bun slathered in barbecue."
Kairi gasped in horror, snatching her phone back to hug protectively to her chest, "Not the piggy-wiggies!"
"Sorry, Kai, but I'm starving and they won't let me eat a damn thing until this little bundle of joy gets the hell out of me," she grumbled back.
She pursed her lips to one side, swiping her thumb across the screen several times now, "Guess I'll skip these pics of baby cows and chicks and- you know what? No farm animals at all, how about that?"
Sora was now sidling up along one side of the bed opposite to Riku, both hands covering his face as he went.
Oh dear.
One could only assume this was leading up to his latest attempt to get a laugh out of her and I was almost dreading how the next couple seconds would unfold.
"No frowning. No sad face. Okay?" he muffled out from between fingers as he blindly inched closer to Rayne. "This birth runs on happy faces, so ya gotta look funny… like me!" He suddenly threw his hands out wide to reveal he was wearing a pair of gag glasses, complete with a comically large plastic nose and mustache. "I-"
Rayne yelped in surprise and socked him in the stomach.
Yup. That'd gone about as well as I'd expected.
And correction… it seemed the role of punching bag would now be played by Sora.
Quite literally.
Eyes growing round as she clasped both hands over her mouth, Rayne said, "Oh god, Sora, you okay? I'm so sorry, but you scared the everliving crap out of me!"
"No, no, it's fine," he wheezed out a chuckle, doubling over and clutching at his gut while Kairi shot him a sympathetic pout as she rubbed his shoulder. "You're bringing a new little life into the world, so you get a free pass!"
Smothering his snickers behind a hand, Riku shook his head at him, "Where did those ridiculous things even come from?"
"These?" Sora held up the gaudy spectacles. "Saw 'em in the hospital gift shop and thought everyone might get a kick outta them."
"Or at least a punch," Kairi teased, sticking her tongue out.
Kristoff and I hadn't been spotted yet. Sensing an opening as the rest of them devolved into light laughter, I was just about to insert myself into the conversation when-
"Beep beep, coming through! Move it or lose it!"
Jolting, I just barely jumped out of the way in time to narrowly avoid getting steamrolled by Anna as she suddenly came charging into the room. Her arms were stacked so high with hospital pillows that she couldn't really see past them, so I suspected she had no clue that she'd just beeped-beeped her own sister.
Yesterday when we'd been racing our way back to Twilight Town, I'd called Anna to make sure she'd heard the news that Rayne had gone into labor. Since we still had had several hours left on the road to go yet before we'd be back and I'd been worried about missing the birth, I'd wanted to make sure that Anna could at least be there in my stead. However I discovered I needn't have even asked, for my sister had already been burning rubber out of Arendelle to get to Twilight Town herself even before I'd called. Thankfully we'd arrived with time to spare - plenty of it, as it was turning out. And bonus, I'd been getting to personally witness Anna's own unique brand of pitching in... that is, by doing anything and everything in her power to make sure Rayne was as comfortable as humanly possible.
Which to Anna apparently meant stealing every last pillow in this medical institution to offer up as tribute to Rayne.
"Ta-da!" she chirped as she dumped the tiny mountain of cushions onto Rayne's bed with a big, delighted grin. "I'm back with a whole friggin' variety this time, so pick your poison! I got soft ones, firm ones, big ones, small ones, some as big as your- you know what? Do you wanna go with all of them? Let's go with all of them! Sound good? Good!" With that, she began gently but eagerly stuffing them one by one behind Rayne's head.
"Anna, sweetie… do you think we're maybe approaching the point of too many pillows here?" Rayne delicately asked, shifting her back slightly against the already substantial collection behind her that Anna had managed to amass in the past several hours.
She wrinkled her nose with a snerk, "What? Nonsense, there's no such thing as too many pillows! And I think you'll be singing a different tune once you get a load of this puppy here," she proudly held up and fluffed a particularly plush looking pillow. "This right here is the Holy Grail of hospital pillows! I earned this bad boy too! Had to throw down with some greedy, wrinkly old fart who was trying to horde all the good bedding for himself!"
"Let me get this straight… you beat up an elderly old man and stole his pillow?" Riku gave her a dull look.
"I didn't beat him up! Just… got in a bit of a tussle, that's all," she brushed off with a tiny shrug. At all the blank stares she received, she huffed, "What, he was crotchety and mean and fought dirty, kept whacking me with his cane! The old coot friggin' deserved it!" She turned her head away with a razz of her tongue before her face lit up once more. "Besides, nothing but the best for the soon-to-be mommy, isn't that right, Ray-Ray?" she cooed as she fondly tucked "the Holy Grail" of hospital pillows (which was the last of her latest haul from all her ransacking and pillaging) behind Rayne. Then she clapped her hands together, "Now! Be right back with more in a jiff!"
Before Anna could dash off again however, Rayne snagged her wrist with a hasty, "No!" As my sister glanced back at her, Rayne winced and lowly hissed her way through what looked to be another contraction before blowing out a relieved puff and exhaustedly chuckling, "The thought's appreciated, sweetpea, really, but try as you might, I just don't think we can quite cram the hospital's entire supply of pillows in this one teeny room."
"But-"
"Ah-ah!" she interrupted her protest, holding up a finger. "Trust me, I'm good. 'Sides, if you keep going at this rate, soon there'll be no room left on the bed for me."
The corners of Anna's lips turned down in a tiny sulk. "I suppose you're right," she hung her head as her hands smoothed over Rayne's bedsheets, flattening any wrinkles. Then she froze mid-gesture, face brightening once again as she looked up with a delighted little intake of breath. "I can get you more blankets! So many blankets! All the blankets!"
"What?! Anna, no, I'm not even-"
But my sister had already blurred out of the room with nothing more than a quick, "Hi, Sis! Bye, Sis!" to me. She didn't even acknowledge Kristoff. Don't think she saw him behind the caribou.
"...cold," Rayne finished with a defeated sigh. Then she seemed to notice me for the first time. More specifically, what I was holding. She immediately perked up, "Ah, there she is! C'mere, oh Great Bringer of Ice! My Ice Babe, my Ice Queen, my Ice Goddess!" She stretched out her arms towards me, making grabby hands. "Gimme!"
Ah, my role in keeping Rayne happy.
Which if it hadn't been obvious already, that greeting should have just made it abundantly clear.
This was actually my first time being present for the birth of somebody's child. And if I was being totally honest here, I had to admit that the experience did make me a bit awkward and anxious. Gussy it up however you like, but the "miracle of childbirth" was some animal kingdom nonsense that I'd normally rather take no part in. It was all just so... er… messy. But this was an important day for Rayne and I wanted to be there for her. Which meant I just had to do what I did for all important things that made me awkward and anxious.
I let it go and did them anyway.
Taking in a breath to quell my jittery nerves, I braved a smile as I approached her bedside and held out the cup which she greedily snatched up. "Got it back here as quick as I could, hopefully it didn't have a chance to melt too much."
Popping a few frozen chips into her mouth, she closed her eyes with a contented hum. "Ahhhh, that's the stuff! You always treat me right, boo! Keep the good shit coming."
"D'aw," I grinned softly, reaching out to lightly pat her cheek, "you make me feel like I'm your drug dealer."
"Don't act like you don't like it," she crunched down on the ice with a cheeky little wink before digging a few more out of the cup to slip between her lips. Then she looked past me and went stock still. She blinked once. Then twice. Then, "...um?"
I glanced back to realize she just now seemed to be noticing the comically large, dopey reindeer in the room. How she hadn't spotted it sooner was beyond me. In any case, I cleared my throat and stage whispered, "Pssst… Kristoff!"
"Right." Taking that as his cue, he started jauntily bouncing forward with the thing, making it do a floppy little jig in the process. Remaining hidden behind the colossal doll the whole time, he adopted a deep, goofy voice to speak for the plushie, "Hello, my name is Sven and I'm gonna be your new lil gal's bestest friend! I'll make sure to give her all the snuggles and huggles and wub she'll ever need!"
For a second, Rayne's expression was unreadable as she just continued to stare at the thing's big, silly face. Then she burst into tears.
Fudge, was this a good crying or a bad crying?
With all the drastic mood swings she'd been experiencing since labor started, it could really go either way at this point.
Everyone began to scramble. Riku was murmuring softly to her as he caressed her cheek, Kairi was frantically trying to pull up what she was claiming to be an absolutely adorable picture of a dog and duck that were besties, and Sora was desperately shooting off lame, punny jokes so fast now that the punchlines were getting all jumbled and mashed together into pure gibberish. However it all turned out to be unnecessary as Rayne suddenly wailed, "Oh my god, I love him!"
Whew, okay, this was a good crying.
False alarm, people, stand down.
"Really?" Kristoff stuck his head up from behind the deer, flashing a lopsided smile.
She nodded her head vigorously, sniffling. "He's perfect for our baby girl! And good news! You've officially just been hired as our full-time nanny!"
He gave a bashful chuckle as he found a corner to deposit Sven in, "Shucks, you don't hafta-" But then he stiffened as her words really sunk in. "Wait, what?"
"Yup! Don't worry, I'll talk to the Ice Palace for you so they'll work your shifts around it. Ah, we're gonna have the happiest kid in the whole wide universe now that she's going to have her own talking, dancing, prancing reindeer to play with every day!" she clapped in glee.
"Every-" Kristoff spluttered and paled. "Now hang on, I never agreed to any of-"
"Da-dun da-dun! Candygram!" a new voice loudly sang out. We all turned to discover Lea now standing in the doorway, grinning like a madman with his arms loaded down with junk food. Way, way too much junk food.
"Good lord, where on earth did all that come from?" was the only greeting he got from me as both eyebrows shot up my forehead.
He shrugged, grin somehow defying all odds to stretch even wider. "Raided the nearest couple o' vending machines and picked the things clean. Hope all you boys and gals are famished cuz tonight we feast like Candyland kings! And you get a chocolate bar!" he tossed one to me, which I fumbled to catch before sensing Rayne's gaze narrowing on me and I hastily hid it behind my back. "And you get a chocolate bar!" This one went to Kristoff. "And you and you and you!" Sora, Kairi, Riku. "Annnnnd…" Lea stopped mid-throw to Rayne, smirking as he retracted his hand. "...not you cuz the Doc said that was a big fat no-no for you, Missy! Guess that just means more for me," he smugly singsonged as he made his way further into the room now.
Nostrils flaring, Rayne growled, "You are such an asshole, Red."
"One," he struck up a finger as he unceremoniously plopped down into a chair against the wall opposite of her, letting all the sweets pile up in his lap, "that's just part o' my roguish charm and you know it. Two, you said a naughty word." He tsked with a shake of his head as he began to peel the wrapper off a Snickers. "Now is that any way for a young lady who any second now is gonna be responsible for molding a young, impressionable mind of our future generation should be talking?"
"Fuck off," she spat out.
"That's more like it!" he laughed, toasting her with the candy bar before heartily taking a bite.
And this, my friends, is how Lea was doing his part to help distract her from the pain.
By being a royal pain in the butt himself.
Fighting fire with fire, as it were.
"Mm-mm-mm!" Lea hummed, putting on a show of enjoying his snack a little too much. "The way that chocolate just melts in your mouth and mingles with all that sweet caramel and peanuty goodness… golly, would I hate to be anyone who's not allowed to eat right now," he slyly broke off another piece between his teeth as he eyed Rayne.
She mutedly worked her jaw for a moment. Then in a dangerously low voice, she said, "Sorry, Elsa, but I'm sending your boyfriend to an early grave."
"Please don't. I'm actually rather fond of the little troublemaker," I snorted as I made my way over to him, quick to smother his mouth with my hand even as he opened it to spout off something else that would surely only tighten the proverbial noose even further around his neck.
I anticipated the little kiss he pressed to the inside of his palm. What I didn't anticipate, however, was him simply taking hold of my wrist and yanking my down into his lap (a rather awkward seat, mind you, considering I was sharing the space with all that candy) where he hugged me tightly, pinning my arms to my sides in the process so I could no longer silence him. Nuzzling his nose to my cheek, he then turned his head to regard Rayne once more as he chirped, "Just consider it incentive! Think about it: the sooner ya squeeze that kiddo out, the sooner ya get to throttle me! Now lessee here, where was I…"
Releasing his hold on me, he retrieved another bar from the heap, tore it open and chomped down. "Mmm… Almond Joy? More like Almond Nirvana! Seriously, this is too good. Raindrop, wanna bite?" he held it out towards her, giving it a little wiggle with an impish gleam to his eyes.
Pretty sure I could see a vein bulging on her forehead for a split second. Then she tried to lunge straight for him and it was only thanks to the combined efforts of Riku, Kairi, and Sora holding her back that she stayed put in her bed.
It seemed Lea was playing his part a little too well.
"Lemme at him, I'm going to murder him!" she snarled as she fought against all the hands restraining her.
"Ah-ah," Lea waggled a finger at her - a finger I hastily grabbed and forced him to lower in a futile attempt to keep him from antagonizing her further. "What did I just tell ya? Baby first, then murder."
Rayne's lips parted, a particularly nasty retort surely on the tip of her tongue, but then she sucked in a sharp breath through her teeth as it appeared another contraction wracked her body and she bellowed out wordlessly instead.
As if her howl was a summons, a new person suddenly came bustling into the room with a chipper yet soothing, "Hello, I am Baymax, your personal healthcare companion."
Mind you, I was using the term "person" in the loosest sense of the word. Baymax here was actually a robot of some kind, though a rather odd one at that - I usually didn't picture robots as big, round, soft and inflatable. Then again, this was the first robot I'd ever met, so what did I know? It seemed it (he?) was some sort of prototype on loan to the hospital, making rounds in the role of a nurse as a sort of a test run to see how viable mass producing more like it (him?) might be.
The future is now, apparently.
"Yes, yes, so you keep saying every. Damn. Time that you come in here," Rayne panted out in reply to the bot, her grip firmly squeezing Riku's hand once more.
"On a scale of one to ten, how would you rate your pain?" Baymax asked amiably as he began to lift her blankets to check how far along she was while the rest of us discreetly averted our eyes.
She huffed out a bitter noise that may have been some crude approximation of a laugh. "Trust me, we left ten in the dust hours ago."
"Good news" Baymax announced, still in that mellow yet upbeat tone he seemed to be programmed to never deviate from as he settled her bedsheets back into place. "You are dilated enough now to begin the birthing process. I'll page Dr Finkelstein so we can get started right away."
"Oh thank fucking god!" Rayne cried out.
Baymax turned to address the rest of us, "If everyone besides the father-to-be could please vacate the room and give us privacy, it would be most appreciated. Thank you and have a nice day."
As the rest of us quickly filed out of the room into the hall, I could spot Anna turning a corner down the way, her arms bursting with blankets now as she sprinted at full speed. Her gaze widened slightly when it landed on us and as she skidded to a halt, she asked, "What's going on? What happened?"
"I did it!" Lea chuckled triumphantly as he handed her a Butterfingers, which she bemusedly accepted. "I shit you not, I actually did it! I managed to annoy that baby outta her!"
Tumblr media
"Huh. We really would make a cute lil anklebiter, wouldn't we?"
I blinked, taking my eyes off my phone screen to glance down at Lea instead. "...pardon?"
The two of us had laid claim to a row of chairs in the waiting room that were sans armrests and pushed together to form a makeshift bench of sorts. I was currently seated in one on the end with Lea sprawled out across the rest of them, using my lap to pillow his head. Looking up from his own phone, he showed me his screen. "Got curious and put our photos in one o' those 'what'll our baby look like' websites. Just lookit this adorable lil fucker."
I was greeted with the sight of a computer-generated yet still rather life-like picture of a little boy. He had short hair that was platinum blonde like mine, as well as my blue eyes, but favored Lea's more sharp angular facial features, especially in the nose. "He is rather cute," I grinned, one hand pocketing my mobile while the other gently stroked his wild hair. Nibbling on my bottom lip, I hesitated for a heartbeat. Then, "...what brought this up?"
Retracting his arm and turning his phone back towards himself so he could stare at the picture once more, he shrugged. "I dunno… Raindrop and Riku's lil squirt's gonna be here any minute… Mom made that comment 'bout the two of us making a kid…" He paused and shrugged again. "Hard not to get curious what with all that baby fever going round right now, I s'pose."
"You think about that kind of stuff?" I tipped my head to one side, my finger idly singling out one of his crimson spikes to fiddle with in particular. "You want children?"
"Well yeah," he laughed, tucking his phone away as he sat up, now only occupying the seat beside me. Grinning sheepishly as he rubbed at the nape of his neck, he added, "Not anytime soon, of course. But one day somewhere down the road with the right person? Definitely."
The corners of my eyes crinkled. There was absolutely zero doubt in my mind that Lea would make an amazing father some day. His words did sort of beg a certain kind of question however. One that I wasn't really sure I was ready to hear the answer to one way or another. Still, as I lowered my gaze to where my hands were fidgeting together in my lap, my face warmed as I couldn't seem to help but ask, "And do you… see me as the right person?"
Lea reached over, engulfing one of my hands in his and weaving our fingers together, rubbing his thumb over my knuckles. I lifted my gaze to meet his and he smiled softly, "Maybe… yeah, I'd really… really like to think you could be." He used his free hand to tentatively sweep some of my bangs behind my ear, his palm lingering against my cheek. "...is that okay, El?" he murmured.
He was worried his answer might freak me out, make me feel pressured. And to be fair, it was the type of thing that probably normally would have. However, it wasn't a cold panic I felt seeping into my chest now, but rather a pleasant tingle, tiny but warm. I leaned into his hand, covering his fingers with my own as one corner of my lips turned up and I gave a small nod, maybe surprising us both a little bit as I whispered back, "Yeah, that's okay."
His grin stretched to the point of threatening to split his face in two. Then he leaned down to kiss me soundly, resting his forehead against mine after he drew back.
Personally, I'd never before really pictured children in my future. Not that I had seen myself not having any, but I hadn't particularly seen myself having them either. It just hadn't really been something I'd thought much about, to be honest. And it didn't help that like I said, the whole process of childbirth made me a bit squeamish. But now… thinking about the prospect of maybe one day having them with Lea…
...sounded like it might be nice.
But that was still years and years and years away, trust me.
Still… it was a pleasant possible future to think about.
A deep yawn suddenly overtook Lea and he gave a massive stretch before slouching further down into his seat, slinging an arm around my shoulders and tugging me into his side. "Yeesh, it's been almost two hours now, what is taking that kid so damn long? I've heard of showing up fashionably late, but baby girl is really pushing it."
His yawn was contagious for I found myself doing the same as I reached for his hand. Absently toying with his fingers, I hummed a tiny laugh, "Maybe she stopped to pick up a latte on her way here."
"Well then, that kiddo better come outta Raindrop with a cardboard to-go tray bearing enough coffee for everyone."
I smiled drowsily, but made no response. Seated across from us, I could see my sister cozied up with Kristoff in another pair of seats, quietly chatting and giggling. As for Sora and Kairi, they were off grabbing a bite in the cafeteria. We'd decided to go in shifts so that there would always be someone in the waiting room in case news came at long last. Lea and I had been the first pair to go, with Kairi and Sora being the last.
As the hospital speakers paged a Dr Sweet to report to surgery, Lea piped up again, "Ya know, a lil caffeine infusion might not be a bad idea. The hospital coffee here is shit, may as well be piss for all the good it does. Once the kid's made her grand debut at long last and we can finally split, I was originally thinking we'd head back to my place to catch some Z's. But how 'bout instead we swing by Lucky Cat for some quality bean juice so we can get a jumpstart on moving your stuff over?"
"Move my stuff?" My brow furrowed and I turned my head to look up at him. "...where's it going?"
Lea blinked owlishly at me. I blinked owlishly right back. "Didn't we…?" he began slowly, then groaned, rubbing his eyes with his thumb and forefinger. "Shit, I haven't actually brought that up to you yet, have I? Maybe I really do need that nap." His hand shifted down to scratch at his cheek now, "But c'mon now, El, think… the kid's almost here."
"Uh-huh," I nodded.
"And she's gonna need a place to sleep," he went on.
"Of course." Obviously. I wasn't exactly sure where he was going with this.
He looked at me pointedly. "...in a nursery."
I quirked an eyebrow. "Right." Still lost here.
His eyelids drooped. "Babe... your room's the nursery."
I just stared back at him blankly, not saying anything at first as my brain took a minute to churn over his words.
A rather long minute.
Give me a break, I'd been awake for close to thirty-four hours straight now.
But finally it clicked.
I gasped, "I need to move out!"
"There it is," he snorted, his hand rubbing my back.
"Crud, in all this flurry of baby chaos, that part completely slipped my mind." I was on my feet in an instant, hands wringing my braid as I began pacing back and forth. "Fudge, I'm entirely unprepared for this! What am I going to do? Where am I going to go?" I stopped momentarily, looking at Lea. He opened his mouth to respond, but I was already furiously pacing once more, muttering, "Well, not entirely unprepared. I of course knew this was coming, already had some of my things packed, been on the hunt for a new apartment, I have, I really have! You know I have!" Again I paused. Again his lips parted. Again, I resumed my patrolling without giving him a chance to speak, "But there's nothing lined up yet! Gah, the baby wasn't supposed to be due for weeks, I was supposed to have more time! But now there is no more time and… and…" I came to a halt once again, face hardening and shoulders squaring as I tapped the side of my fist into my palm with a firm nod. "Time to revisit the whole living in a box idea!"
Did I mention the whole thirty-four hours without sleep thing?
"Woah now, hang on! No one's gonna be living in a box," Lea hopped up with a chuckle, hands going to my shoulders and giving them a squeeze. "Doubt the new happy family would kick ya out just like that and make you homeless, they'd work something out for ya while you looked for a new home." Now his eyes darted to the left as he softly cleared his throat, "There's... another option though that, ya know... I'd like to think is slightly more appealing to all parties involved…"
I cocked my head. "There is?"
"Yeah." He took both my hands in his, holding them to his chest as he beamed, "Move in with me!"
"Move in with…" I echoed slowly, trailing off as I stared up at him.
Processing… processing…
I gasped again, "Oh no! No, we shouldn't- That's isn't- I couldn't possibly do that!"
"Aw, why not?" he pouted.
"Moving in together is a big step, Lea! A huge decision! One we definitely shouldn't be making spur of the moment like this, not to mention when we're both delirious from lack of sleep! There's so much to consider, so much to think about!"
He used the hold he still had on my hands to pull me to him and wrap my arms around his waist, freeing up his own arms to hug me instead. "What's there to think about? You're already practically living with me anyhow, you stay over almost every night as it is. I'd love to have you there, Bruni and Marshmallow would love to have you there… it's three against one, El, you're outvoted."
I drooped my eyelids up at him. "The dog and salamander don't get votes."
"You'll hafta take that up with them once you're all moved in and settled," he pressed a quick peck to my forehead before flashing a cheeky grin. My expression remained unamused and he snerked, "C'mon, is it really such a big deal? We were just talking 'bout having kids. Compared to that, the idea of shacking up together seems like small potatoes!"
"Yes, theoretical kids in a theoretical future. Me moving in with you is very real and very right now. We haven't even been dating for five months yet, that's way too soon to be living together."
Lea shrugged, "And you were with your ex for five years before almost tying the knot with him and we all know how that ended. Who's to say what's too soon and what isn't? All we can do is what feels right, and this feels right… doesn't it?"
...it actually kind of did.
Damn him, it did.
It didn't help that those beautiful green puppy eyes of his were murder on my resolve.
But my stubbornness flared and I hastily looked away. I wasn't ready to relent just yet and I weakly scrambled to maintain my defense, "But… it's just too soon, Lea. It hasn't even been a year yet, we haven't even… celebrated all the big holidays yet!"
Even as I blurted it out, it sounded lame even to me.
But it was the best I could come up with, dammit!
His eyebrows reached for his hairline and he fought a tiny smile. "...so just to be clear here, it's important to you that we observe all the major holidays in a calendar year together before making any further life-changing decisions."
I hitched my chin with a lofty little sniff. "Yes. Yes it is."
This was the hill was I choosing to die on, apparently.
"Duly noted," he glanced towards the ceiling with a tiny shake of his head before settling his gaze on me once more, eyes crinkling. "Fine, let's not call it moving in together then, call it… a temporary solution."
"...temporary?" I turned my head slightly, giving him some dubious side-eye.
"Mm-hm! Face it, babydoll, even though we both know Raindrop and Riku will be more than happy to accommodate ya, it's still gonna be a tight squeeze with all four of you in that tiny ass apartment while you're searching for a place. Wouldn't it just be more convenient for everyone if temporarily," he reiterated for emphasis, "you stayed with me instead just until you've found your new home? You know there's more than enough space for you and your things at my digs."
I tucked in my bottom lip. Maybe it was the sleep deprivation talking, but darn it, he actually seemed to be making a lot of sense. Still, I hesitated. "...I don't know what to say."
His eyes lit up. Great. Now the big dork knew he was winning. Hugging me more tightly to him, he grinned, "That's simple: say yes."
I squinted up to him, pursing my lips to the left. Then to the right. Then, just as I was slowly opening my mouth to speak-
-a throat suddenly cleared nearby.
Like, really nearby.
Both Lea and I tensed before turning our heads to discover none other than Saïx standing not two inches away from us looking quite perturbed.
To be fair, Saïx usually looked perturbed. It just seemed to be his face's default setting. But this was more perturbed than usual.
Lea quirked an eyebrow at him, but grinned, "Hey, big guy! Ya mind? Kinda in the middle of something here."
"And I do so hate to interrupt, truly," he said flatly, his cold unblinking gaze locked on his brother, "but I fear we have a rather pressing matter to discuss that cannot wait."
His eyebrows knit together. "...which would be?"
Saïx's hard stare was unyielding. "Do you think there is quite possibly something you may have forgot back at our mother's house?"
Cocking his head, Lea seemed even more genuinely confused now. Clearly racking his brain for a couple seconds, he then shrugged with a small shake of his head, "Like what?"
"ME, you DOLT!" Saïx snarled, slugging Lea in the shoulder hard enough to force a pained grunt out of him.
I inhaled sharply through my nose, eyes widening.
There was no way we'd actually-
We couldn't have honestly-
We didn't-
...did we really?
I thought back to yesterday, though it was a struggle to remember a clear picture through the fog of grogginess. Had Saïx been in the car with us on the trip back? Had he not? Try as I might, I just simply could not remember one way or another. But I suppose it could be (and in fact was) completely possible, especially considering Lea had had Saïx's car keys and I had had his code to start the engine.
In our state of panic and rush to get out of there, had we really just totally spaced on the fact that we didn't have him with us?
"Oh gosh, Saïx, I'm so sorry we left you behind!" I bemoaned in horror.
Lea laughed, "Relax, El, don'tcha know that with me as your boyfriend, that makes everything my fault? You're off the hook, I'm the only one he's mad at."
"He's right, I don't blame you at all." Although Saïx was talking to me, his irked gaze never left Lea. "You're not the one who forgot your own brother."
No, I just simply forgot a whole person. For a whole car ride. In his own friggin' car.
Elsa, Queen of Memory Lapse.
"Bah, I didn't forget ya, I just… thought you were in the backseat the entire time being really quiet!"
That earned Lea another punch to the arm.
Giving an annoyed huff as he rubbed his knuckles, Saïx asked with a bit less bite to his tone now, "I presume since I find you all still here at the hospital, the child has yet to be born?" At our silent nods, he moved to the nearest set of empty chairs and sat down with a soft huff, crossing his arms.
Huh. Guess he was going to join us for sharing Rayne's and Riku's joy in this blessed event.
I gingerly took a seat next to him, Lea plopping down in the chair on my other side. As his arm wrapped around my shoulders, he piped up with a huge smile, "Got some good news that I think'll clear up that black rain cloud hanging over your head there, Mr Grumps McSourpuss: El's moving in with us!"
My back stiffened and I whipped my head around to narrow my eyes up at him, "I haven't said yes yet."
Saïx was eyeing me oddly from the corner of his peripheral. "...you mean you weren't already living with us?"
"There ya have it! Saïx's official stamp of approval! Now ya gotta say yes," Lea beamed, smoothing his hand up and down my arm.
My eyelids drooped. "...one, in what universe was that even remotely a stamp of approval? And two, no, I don't 'gotta' do anything, least of all say yes."
"But you will," he winked at me, pressing a kiss to my cheek. Then he was looking past me towards Saïx once more, a thoughtful frown twisting his lips. "Hey… since we jacked your wheels, how'd you even get back here?"
Saïx fixed him with a dull stare. Then he shifted his crossed arms more tightly against his chest, closed his eyes and hitched his chin. "...wouldn't you like to know."
Lea snerked. "I would in fact, thus why I asked."
"What's that inanely childish saying you do so love to spout of? ...that's for me to know and you to find out?"
"C'mon, man," he groaned out. "This is gonna bug the crap outta me now until ya tell me."
One corner of his lips cruelly curled up. "I know."
Apparently, Saïx was swift to enact his vengeance when the need arose.
A tiny scowl emerged on my boyfriend's face, but before he could shoot off whatever acerbic retort he undoubtedly already had locked and loaded, I stopped him with a touch to his arm as I said, "Lea." He glanced down at me and I nodded towards the far corner of the waiting room. "Look."
He followed my gaze to a familiar woman with silver hair pulled back into a ponytail made of several tiny braids and the same green eyes as Lea. Aranea apparently was not aware that we had just noticed her, for she was too busy inspecting the selection available over at the hospital's coffee station with her nose wrinkled.
"Ah," Lea breathed, gracing his brother with a mildly sour look. "That's how ya got back. Ya bummed a ride outta our old lady."
Saïx said nothing, just continued to stare stoically straight ahead.
Blowing out a breath that made his lips flap, Lea turned his eyes towards his mother once more. A heartbeat of hesitation. Then making a sound that was half growl, half sigh, Lea muttered. "Be right back. Ma and I have some unfinished business." I smiled softly as he planted a smooch to my temple and I gave his hand a quick squeeze before releasing it as he stood up.
I watched Aranea perk up as she spotted Lea approaching. They exchanged a few words that I was too far away to hear, her grinning the whole time, him ruffling his fingers through his hair as he shifted his weight from one foot to the other. Then it seemed they decided to find somewhere else to have their talk for they then walked out of the waiting room.
Off to a good start at least, it seemed. Letting go a tiny exhale of relief, I glanced over at the chairs across from us once more to where Anna sat as I considered possibly shifting over to a seat near her. But seeing as she was currently otherwise, er… occupied with, hrm… inspecting Kristoff's tonsils with her tongue, I decided against it.
Ugh, gross, I did not need to see that.
Instead, I turned my attention to Saïx. My lips parted and I took in a breath to say something, but then I hesitated and clamped my mouth shut, staring down at where I was fiddling with my fingers in my lap. Then I cleared my throat, looked over at him once more and tried again, "Would it... really be okay with you if… if I decided to move in?"
His eyes flicked over to me briefly without turning his head. Then releasing a nearly inaudible sigh through his nose, he stared straight forward once again. "I consider you among a small, select handful of people I can tolerate and would even go so far as to say enjoy the company of. If my asinine fool of a brother has against all odds actually managed to persuade you somehow into agreeing to move in with him, then by all means, your presence on a more permanent basis could only be a considerable improvement on our day-to-day lives around the apartment." He paused and for a second it seemed that was all he had to say on the subject. Then then added a bit more quietly, "Besides, you make my brother happy. Far be it from me to stand in the way of that, even if I wanted to."
A small smile tugged at my lips. "...he makes me happy too."
Saïx gave a low hmph at that, closing his eyes. "I would hope so. Otherwise, what would be the point?"
On that note, the conversation ended. As he seemed more than content to remain in a companionable silence, I reached over the seat Lea had vacated and towards the little table on the other side, plucking up one of the outdated magazines provided by the hospital from it and slowly began flipping through its pages.
A short while later, I heard a door opening and I glanced up to see that Lea and Aranea were walking back into the waiting room. Neither one looked like they wanted to murder each other, so I took that as a good sign. In fact, they almost, almost seemed somewhat chummy.
I set the periodical aside and both Saïx and I rose as they approached, which prompted a chuckle from Aranea, "No need to get up, I'm not staying. Just wanted to give my other knucklehead kid one last hug before hitting the road," she embraced Saïx, which he accepted as stony-faced as ever. Then she turned to me with a sly little smirk, "Plus I hear congrats are in order."
My eyes blinked. "...they are?"
"Course! You two lil lovebirds are gonna be living together soon, after all!"
I twitched, then shot Lea a flat look. "I haven't said yes yet."
He grinned, stepping closer to take my hand and bring it up to his lips. "Key word there: yet."
Oh-ho, he thought he was being cute. Even as I opened my mouth to prove just how wrong he was however, Aranea suddenly snagged me into a bone-crushing bear hug as she chirped, "Take care, shortcake!" She gave me one final squeeze before releasing me to rest a hand on my shoulder, "And if either of my boys give you any trouble, you gimme a call, I'll be only too happy to knock some sense into 'em!"
Smiling, I nodded, "Thanks, I'll be sure to do that. Have a safe trip back."
Lea received a hug from her as well and though he returned it stiffly, it was remarkably warmer than the one they'd shared yesterday in the foyer of her home. With that, she made her way towards the exit, waving goodbye to us over her shoulder before disappearing through the door.
"I take it you two are getting along now," I said to Lea as I settled into my chair once again.
He took a seat too, stretching his arm out along the backrest behind my head. As his fingers began to idly toy with my braid, he pursed his lips to one side in thought. Then, "Ya know how you and your folks 'get along' now?" he brought up his other hand to form air quotes. At my nod, he said, "Well, it's kinda like that. We're… gonna work on it."
I reached for his hands, lacing our fingers together as I told him gently, "I'm glad you decided to give her a chance."
"I think I am too," he admitted, albeit somewhat begrudgingly.
Just then, the same door Aranea had left through opened once more, Sora and Kairi being the ones to step through this time, laughing over something they'd been talking about. It seemed their timing was impeccable, for that was also when the double doors on the other side of the room parted and in walked a very familiar white, inflatable robot. All of us immediately zeroed in on him and were on our feet in an flash as he greeted us with, "Hello, I am Baymax, your personal healthc-"
"Yeah, yeah, we know all that already, get to the good part, you giant balloon!" Anna hastily cut him off, rolling her eyes. "Do you actually have anything new to tell us? How's Ray-Ray doing?"
"The delivery was a success," Baymax announced, managing to sound almost pleased somehow despite there being no actual change in the mechanical tone of his voice. "Everyone is happy and healthy. The new family is ready to accept visitors and have welcomed you all back to their room."
There was a mixture of whoops and relieved sighs all around before all of us, Saïx included, followed the robot as he led the way past those doors and towards the maternity ward. Not a minute later found us all crowding back into their hospital room. I spotted Riku first at his wife's bedside, facing her so his back was to us. As for Rayne, she looked absolutely exhausted and like she'd been to hell and back twice, but she positively radiated pure joy and love for the little bundle I could now see her holding in her arms. As she looked up at our entrance, she proudly beamed and said, "Everyone… I'd like you to meet Aria."
"...and Cayde," Riku added, smirking as he turned around to reveal he was cradling a second baby.
"TWO?!" Lea gaped, wide-eyed gaze darting back and forth between them while the rest of us were too stunned to even speak.
"That's right! Two!" Rayne chirped in delight.
Sora was the next one to find his voice, only to blurt out, "Twins?!"
"No, we liked the first one so much, we decided to randomly steal a second one from one of the other cribs when no one was looking," Riku deadpanned before snorting with a shake of his head. "Of course they're twins, doofus."
"But you never said anything about twins," Anna was already adopting a baby voice as she approached Riku, wasting no time making funny faces at Cayde.
Gently rocking little Aria as Rayne watched her fondly, she said, "We didn't know. No one did, not until Cayde shocked us all by showing up hot on the heels of his big sis. Guess the doctors missed him during all those check-ups and sonograms somehow."
"How do they miss a whole other baby inside of you for months?!" Kristoff shook his head in disbelief.
"Who knows, but it's not unheard of. We're not the first couple this has ever happened to." Glancing over to Cayde, Rayne grinned as she reached out a fingertip to tickle the underside of one of his tiny feet. "...he was a surprise, that's for sure, but a happy one."
"I'll say!" Kairi giggled, stepping forward to gently squish Aria's cheeks as she cooed, "This just gives Auntie Kairi and Unkie Sora twice the niblings to wub, doesn't it? Doesn't it? Yes it does!"
"Speaking of which… Kristoff." The man in question stood up straighter as Rayne suddenly locked eyes with him and told him in no uncertain terms, "We're gonna need a second reindeer."
He dragged a hand down the side of his face and sighed. "...I'll talk to Frozone."
Rayne crinkled her nose as she hummed a soft laugh, then her eyes landed on me as I approached her bedside. "Oh, Elsa, there was something I… we," she amended, exchanging a glance and a tiny nod with her husband, "wanted to talk to you about… we'd absolutely love it if you'd be the twins' godmother."
The finger I was waggling at Aria froze as my gaze widened and snapped up to meet hers. "Who, me? Really?" By the look in both the new parents' eyes, they were serious. Dead serious. "Oh! Why, uh… yes. Yes of course! I'd be very honored," I smiled.
"And Sora," Riku chimed in now, causing his cousin to pause mid-sticking his tongue out and crossing his eyes at Cayde. "We were hoping you'd be their godfather."
Sora blinded us all with his signature huge, thousand-watt grin. "Absolutely! I'm gonna make the best godfather ever, you'll see! I- wait…" His brow furrowed and he gasped, whipping his head around towards me now with a slight look of panic. "Does… does that make us... god-married?"
"Yes. It does."
And who was it, one might wonder, to deliver that answer in full earnest and with a completely straight face?
Saïx.
That's right. Saïx.
Which is probably why Sora took him at his word and didn't even think to question it. Nostrils flaring and with a steely look of determination now, he informed Lea, "I promise to take good care of her."
Not missing a beat, Lea nodded firmly, "You better, lil man, otherwise I will end you."
I elbowed my boyfriend in the gut, forcing a wheeze out of him. As everyone else sniggered around us, I sighed, "No, Sora, that doesn't make us god-married, it doesn't make us god-anything."
"Oh good! Whew!"
At that point, conversation for the most part subsided in favor of everyone trying to squeeze in to fawn over the new babies. After a minute of this, I decided to take the opportunity to snag Lea (dragging him away from playing with Aria's "widdle toesy-wosies" - his words, not mine) and pull him off to one side of the room away from the others. They hardly even noticed us stepping away, so enamored were they all with the little ones.
I faced him, holding both his hands in mine as I took in a deep breath and released it before uttering a single word. "Yes."
His face immediately lit up, but he quickly schooled his expression and cleared his throat, asking casually, "Yes? Yes what?"
Ugh, he knew very damn well what, he just wanted to hear me say it. Rolling my eyes but unable to fight a small grin, I said, "Yes, I'll move in with you. It just makes sense, after all, now that they have twins, there's even less room for me in their apartment and-"
I didn't get to finish that sentence as he smiled fiercely and grabbed my face, planting a firm kiss to my lips before laughing as he hugged me, picked me up and spun me around.
"Temporarily," I insisted, arms instinctively latching around his neck to steady myself.
"Yeah, yeah, of course, temporarily," he agreed, putting me down while still grinning like an idiot.
I poked his chest a couple times, "I mean it. I'm going to keep looking for my own place and the second I find something, I'm moving right back out."
"Whatever ya say, babydoll!"
Funny thing is though…
...I never did end up actually moving out.

Author's Note: MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS! Hope you all enjoyed the millions of teeny references I sprinkled in - my aesthetic, as I'm sure you're all aware at this point xP (My fave was something Lea said towards the very end, did you guys catch that it was a reference? I hope so :3) Regarding Sora's lil stand-up comedy act, I unfortunately cannot take credit for any of his material - I just googled a bunch of Final Fantasy jokes xD I can't even take credit for the cactuar jokes for even tho I couldn't find any ACTUAL cactuar jokes out there on the internet, I just googled cactus jokes instead xD And yes, there are IN FACT cactus jokes out there, and a LOT of them lawl! And woo, Lea and his mom made up… sort of! xD Sorry that happened off screen, part of it was I thought it wasn't a conversation that Elsa would really be present for, part of it was I didn't want to take focus off the main points of this chapter, and part of it was I was just too lazy to write it at this time xD Maybe I'll go back at a later date and write a Lea POV chapter for this lil chat with his mum, we'll see! But for now, at least we got a lil closure on that front! And aaaaahhhhh, our ice and fire bbies are taking a big step and moving in together, yaaaaaay! :3 I knew that was definitely a relationship milestone I wanted to cover in one of these bonus chapters and this just seemed like a fun way to bring it about xD
The next one-shot is set during Christmas time! Which I know, lil late, should have posted it today xD But I'd kinda locked myself into the baby chapter with the way the last chapter ended and the babies are born in September, so couldn't combine them into one chapter xD So consider next week's update just a bit of a belated Christmas present! And I'll say this about the next bonus chapter: It's gonna be pure crack xD Trust me, there will be no substance whatsoever, it's just mindless silliness and slightly scandalous and mildly salacious (but still 100% family friendly… ish... haha!). Basically, if PG horny hijinx doesn't interest you, you might wanna skip the next chapter xD You've been warned!
Thanks for reading, I super duper appreciate it! And an extra BIG thank you to those of you who’ve liked, reblogged, and followed so far, seeing those lil notifications always brings the biggest, goofiest smile to my face!

Thera’s Journal Entry #49
“Your friend Angelica told me I would find you out here.” I heard Osiris walk up behind me.
I sat on a high walkway, overlooking the city. My legs dangled off the edge and my arms rested on the middle bar of the railing. Bright stars were scattered across the night sky. I stared at them, trying to map out constellations Sora had shown me long ago.
“What do you need?”
Osiris stood beside me. “I went through your files. I wanted to see if there had been anything important that I had missed. It seems there has been a lot.”
I nodded. “Yeah.”
“Three files full to be exact. The first one full of things about your history, before you became known as a hero.”
“You aren’t the only one who didn’t know that stuff. Really, no one finds my backstory before I became a hero all that important.”
“After learning about Sora and Zane-2, I checked their files as well, and found a bit about them. Ikora found me going through it all. We talked for a bit. She said you had finally gone through their things. Finally started to talk about it more. Started to talk more in general.”
“Only took over fifteen years.” My eyes never left the stars until I saw Osiris hand me something.
I turned to look at him, to see he was holding two large files out to me. I took them.
“I figured that there may be some stuff in there that maybe you didn’t know.”
“Thanks.” I said, then laid them beside me to go through later.
There was a moment of silence. Osiris leaned on the railing, also enjoying the view.
“Sora wanted to meet you.” I said, breaking the silence.
“Did she?”
“She wanted to gain some of your knowledge. She was always learning. Hoped that one day she would come across this breakthrough that would help the Last City.”
Osiris nodded. “I wish I had gotten to meet her. I saw that she wrote books?”
“Ikora was the only one besides Zane and I that she had told. She kept track of her studies, wrote notes, new things she learned, ect, ect. Never published them. Just kept them to herself.” I turned to look up at him. “If you ever want to read them, I’ve got em. Just stop by in the evenings. I’m usually at my room.”
“I’m glad you’ve found new friends. Everyone needs a few. A Ghost always keeps you company, but sometimes you need a human to talk to.”
“Heard Crow told you about our relationship.” I stated simply.
“Yes, he did.”
“How do you feel about it?”
“I could see there was something between the two of you. But, if or when we ever reveal Crow’s identity, and anyone finds out about you both, you do know that it will greatly hurt your reputation? People, especially hunters, will feel betrayed.”
“Yes, I know. I’ve thought about it. And I really don’t care. I honestly never thought that love would be something I’d ever experience. I’ve never even thought about it before. I’m so busy all the time, and used to I never talked to anyone. Though I could have had my pick with anyone if I had wanted to. I knew of many who had a crush on me.” I laughed at that, remembering when Guardians would come up to me to tell me that their friend had a crush on me, and I’d see their friend in the background, hiding their face. I had always let them down though. “Never did get in a relationship though. Most people only wanted to be my partner because of my fame. Gave em bragging rights and all that. But Crow, he’s different.” I spoke with compassion in my voice. “He wants me, not because of my heroic deeds in the past, but because of who I am. My personality. Never thought I’d find someone like that.”
“I had never thought I would find the time for love. Never thought any one would love me.”
“And now you have Saint.”
“Though of course, it isn’t entirely official.” He added, giving me a sideways glance.
“Yeah, yeah. I won’t tell anybody, since you’re keeping Crow and I a secret.” I said with a smile.
“I’ll see you tomorrow, Thera.”
He turned and walked away, then stopped. “Would you consider this place romantic?” He asked.
“Yeah.”
“I may bring Saint here sometime.”

Monsters Incorporated could be a ticking bomb waiting to happen at times. With its reliance on laughter to fuel their city, it wasn’t entirely uncommon that they’d receive laughter so powerful and potent that it would cause a shortage. This was one of those times. At least, for the upper floors of the massive complex where some sort of outage had taken place, and considering the CEO of the company had Boo with him, he didn’t want to turn her visit into a mess of running from floor to floor like the last time she was there. As much as he and his best friend loved her, they didn’t want Boo slowing them down either. They thought it might be best if she stayed in the lower levels where the power was, thankfully, still intact.
The good news for Mike Wazowksi and James P. Sulliven was that a certain fuzzy exterminator who carried an oversized key was in the neighborhood. Though, this time he didn’t have the one-eyed duck and green dog with heterochromia iridum accompanything him. Instead, it was an unfamiliar girl wearing a stylish pink dress with her periwinkle fur, large paws, four eyes, and horns. It was a far cry from the much more outlandish looks of Donald and Goofy they remembered.
After a quick introduction to Kairi and thanking the two for stopping by to do them a favor, Mike and Sulley scurried off to reach one of the main generators on one of the upper floors, leaving Sora and Kairi to care for Boo themselves, They entered Sulley’s office where the two had left Boo to play with her dolls while they stepped outside to have a chat with Sora and Kairi.
“Boo?” Sora asked no one in particular. The room seemed fairly standard for an office: a desk located in the back with a computer and shelves of books surely collecting dust. “Anyone home?”
As Sora and Kairi stepped further inside and searched the room for any signs of the young girl, Sora accidentally stepped on a doll and carefully picked it up.
“This must be hers,” Sora concluded.
“Do you think she’s okay?” Kairi asked, concern painted on her face.
Sora didn’t say anything. Monsters Inc. was a big place and there was no telling where she could have gone. Boo was a sweetheart but she could be a troublemaker as well if left unsupervised. Sora crossed his arms and closed his eyes, contemplating what their next move should be.
“Boo!”
“AGH!” Sora yelled, wincing.
When the dust settled, he saw the culprit reveal herself from behind Sulley’s desk, covering her mouth with both hands as she giggled at the reaction she was delighted to have witnessed from Sora.
“Whoa, Boo! Where’d you come from?” Sora asked.
Kairi laughed. “Looks like someone got a little spooked.”
Sora cleared his throat and rubbed right under his nose. “Yeah, scared that you’d get hurt,” he excused poorly.
Kairi gave a knowing smirk. “Yeah, sure.”
When Boo looked at Kairi, she tilted her head at the unfamiliarity of her. Kairi recognized the little girl’s uncertainty and hunched over with a friendly wave. “Hi, there! You must be Boo. My name is Kairi. I’m Sora’s girlfriend.”
Despite the validity of her bold statement, Sora couldn’t help but blush with a goofy smile lingering on his face that was only concealed thanks to his fur. Boo wasn’t sure what exactly a “girlfriend” was but she assumed it was something similar to Mommy and Daddy. With a giggle, she ran towards Kairi, talking to her as if she could understand whatever gibberish she spewed as she took her hand.
“You are just the cutest little thing,” Kairi cooed as she picked up Boo. “And probably a lot braver than Mr. Scaredy Cat over here.”
“Whaaaat?” Sora said. “I am not. I mean, okay...” he crossed his arms. “Some of the monsters around this place kinda give me the heebie-jeebies, but... I wouldn’t say I’m a scaredy cat.”
Kairi sent him a teasing smirk.
“What?!” he said defensively.
Kairi laughed, settling into a sigh. “Oh, Sora. Remember when you and Riku would come over and we’d steal scary movies from my parent’s room to watch at midnight? You pretty much hid under the blankets the whole time and couldn’t sleep with the light off for a week.”
“I was seven!”
Kairi shook her head, the smile on her face never leaving. “You haven’t changed a bit. Even your monster form looks non-threatening.”
“Huh? No way! I can totally be scary when I wanna be. Right, Boo?”
The only thing that came to mind for Boo was the unforgettable Funny Face Special that cracked her up the last time he visited. “Scary” was the last thing her developing brain categorized Sora as by any means. She giggled just thinking about it.
“Aww, no. Not you too, Boo!” Sora dropped his head in shame.
“Then it’s settled,” Kairi concluded as she and Boo laughed.
“Hmmm.” Sora folded his arms and looked to the ceiling, thinking to himself until an idea came to him. Maybe if he scared Boo, it would show just how intimidating he could be. With a sinister-looking grin, Sora raised his hands and wiggled his fingers, a low growl murmuring under his breath.
However, what Sora perceived to be a sinister smile came off more as a silly, non-threatening look Boo assumed was meant to be as funny as it looked and once again rewarded Sora with affectionate laughter.
While Sora loved making her happy, he wasn’t sure what he was doing wrong either. He spent the next ten minutes doing whatever he could to make Boo at least a little fearful; he made every face he could possibly muster, but they all resulted in either blank, confused stares or laughing frenzies from the girls.
A lightbulb popped over his head as an idea came to mind. “Stay right here,” Sora requested as he hurriedly turned off the lights, blanketing the three of them in complete darkness.
“Boooooooo,” Sora sang in a deep, haunting voice. “I seeeeeee youuuuuuu.”
Sora couldn’t see it, but Boo’s lips quivered. Thankfully, she had Kairi to hold onto tight, making the dark not as scary as it normally would’ve been. Sora carefully and quietly crept around the office.
“Boooooooooo,” Sora echoed.
“Kitty?” Boo said in hopes of her favorite monster friend coming to her rescue at any moment.
Sora stealthily crept closer to where he pinpointed where Kairi stood and snuck behind her. He lifted his finger, ready to tap Boo on the shoulder in hopes of giving her a good fright, but instead, Boo heard him at the last second and grabbed his finger just before he could touch her.
“Boo!” she said.
“WHOA!” Sora cried,  rushing back to turn the lights back on. Kairi howled with laughter at how poorly Sora’s plan backfired. He groaned. Maybe that was what he deserved, trying to scare a little girl just to prove a point. Still, as he watched Boo laugh heartily with Kairi knowing that he was the cause, it did make him feel warm and fuzzy inside. .
“I guess you’re just too cute to be scary, Sora,” Kairi teased. “Just stick to what you do best, okay?”
Sora smiled. Kairi was right. If anything, he was more glad to have been able to bring Boo such joy rather than be the reason she would have a nightmare that night. “Looks like you win, Boo,” Sora said. “You’re tough! Guess nothing ever gets you down, huh?”
Boo only responded with more giggles before she spoke a set of words he wasn’t expected. “Funny Face! Funny Face!”
“Huh?” Sora questioned aloud. To his surprise, she really did remember that from the last time he visited.
“Funny Face?” Kairi asked. “Oh, you mean like when you first met Donald and Goofy, right?”
Sora rubbed the back of his furry head with a bashful smile. “Ah, I guess you would remember that, huh?”
“Yup!” Kairi affirmed with a laugh. “And honestly, I’d like to see it, too.”
“Well, I guess I can’t disappoint,” Sora said. He set his feet, tied his hands behind his back, dipped his head down with an imaginary drum roll playing in his mind before he shot back up with his eyes nearly rolled to the back of his head, showing off his pearly whites.
Just like last time, Boo laughed like a little madwoman. Kairi found the sight amusing as well, it was her first time seeing this face from a third-party’s perspective rather than when she was inside his heart when he first did it.
Sora chuckled. “Hey, Kairi, give it a try!”
“Oh, m-me?” Kairi asked.
“Sure! Let’s see how silly you can be.”
“Well, I guess I can give it a try,” Kairi said. She turned Boo in her arms to give her a better look at her before she dipped her head down, imaginary drum roll and all, before she lifted her head with her crossed-eyes pupils and her tongue sticking out. “Neeeeeeeeee!”
Boo was hit with gut-wrenching laughter she couldn’t contain, tears leaking from the little girl’s eyes as the deadly combo of both Sora and Kairi sending her the silliest faces they could manifest was too much for her to handle. Before long, Sora and Kairi noticed the lights in the room beginning to flicker at a rapid rate. They ceased their onslaught of silly faces, but Boo didn’t stop laughing at the fresh memories.
Pop!
In an instant, the lights cut off and shards of glass from the broken lightbulb crashed onto the floor, thankfully out of reach to not hurt Boo but close enough to make Kairi let out a slight shriek.
“What happened?” she asked.
Sora nearly forgot that laughter was what fueled the city of Monstropolis. Having Boo laugh so much must have caused some sort of overload. He chuckled nervously. “I think we might have gone a bit too far.”
Before Kairi could ask a question, they heard Mike Wazowksi’s muffled voice from the other side of the door. “See, Sull? What’d I tell ya? That generator was a piece of cake. Still, where’s the electrician when you need ‘em?”
“You probably could’ve used the exercise yourself, Butterball,” Sulley replied as the two entered the office only to find that it was pitch black.
“Uh, guys? You in here?” Mike asked.
“Yeah, Mike,” Sora said, leading Kairi outside into the light of the hallway.
“You guys playing hide and seek?” Sulley asked.
Sora rubbed the back of his head. “I, uh... think you guys might need a new lightbulb.”
“What the heck is that s’posed to mean?” Mike asked. “What in the world were you two doin’ to make Sull’s whole office pitch black?”
“Making Boo laugh,” Sora admitted bashfully.
“Yeah, like this!” Kairi said, offering a demonstration as she made a similar face from before.
Sora, Mike, and Sulley reached out their hands dramatically. “Kairi, no!” all three said a variation of.
But it was too late. Boo went into another burst of laughter and before they knew it, the hallway lights flickered and after another resounding pop, they stood in the midst of darkness.
“Oops,” Kairi squeaked. “Sorry... I didn’t think her laughs were that powerful.”
“But if the entire hallway blacked out, then does that mean...?” Sora prodded.
Sulley sighed. “You guys think you might wanna take a trip down to the generator in the basement?”
Mike nearly had a heart attack. “OH, FOR THE LOVE OF—”
Fin.

The Lost Princess Chapter 32

You and the trio had exited the Eighth Floor world entrance and had entered the world of Atlantica.
“Gawrsh! This looks like the bottom of the sea,” Goofy said.
“It sure does. So how come we can breathe?” Sora said.
“Hmm... Beats me! Maybe someone cast a spell on us?”
“It's just like breathing air!” you said.
“But it's not air. See? Someone's swimming this way!” Donald said. Ariel appeared and swam over to the four of you, holding a trident.
“If anyone asks, you didn't see me!” she said.
“What?” Donald asked.
“Sorry, I don't have time to explain. Just promise you won't tell!”
“Hey, what's that sparkling thingy you got there?” Goofy asked.
“Oh, nothing---nothing at all! Remember, you didn't see me!” She swam away leaving you and the trio confused.
“What was that all about?” you asked.
“Well. Looked like she was in a hurry,” Donald said.
“She was hiding something,” Sora said.
“I wonder what it was?” You, Sora, Donald, and Goofy entered the throne room of King Triton, and met a crab named Sebastian.
“Oh, woe is me...” Sebastian said.
“Is something wrong?” Sora asked.
“Someone stole the king's magic trident. Atlantica is defenseless! And to top it off, Princess Ariel has disappeared! King Triton's worried sick. He won't leave his chambers.”
“Ariel? She disappeared?” you asked.
“Ariel's friend Flounder would know where she is, but now he's gone, too.” Sora turned to you, Donald, and Goofy.
“Wait a sec... Didn't we just see Ariel?” he asked.
“Yep. But she didn't look real happy to see US! Hey, wasn't she carrying something when we saw her?” Goofy said.
“You don't think that was the trident?” you asked. Jiminy hopped down.
“You know, maybe it was,” he said.
“Wak? But that means Ariel stole it!” Donald said.
“There must be some explanation.” Sebastian was talking to himself while the five of you were talking.
“Ariel! Where did you swim off to this time? If anything happens to you... The king will think it's all my fault! He told me to keep an eye on her, and now this! What if she ran away because of something I said?! King Triton will banish me forever!” he said.
“He'll pop his shell if we tell him Ariel took the trident,” you said to the trio.
“Guess we'll have to get to the bottom of this ourselves!” Goofy said. You and the trio left the throne room. You, Sora, Donald, and Goofy found Ariel and the trident in her grotto.
“There she is!” Sora said.
“This is all my fault. I wish I'd never taken Daddy's trident. I should've known things would turn out this way,” Ariel said to herself.
“She DID take it!” Donald said.
“Pipe down! Somebody's comin'!” Goofy said.
“No need to worry, child. You did the right thing,” someone said. Suddenly, Ursula appeared in a cloud of black smoke.
“Why, I'm sure you'd do anything in the world to help your little friend. Poor Flounder has been swept away to the human world. No place for a little fish. Why, if we don't hurry, you might not have a friend to save---” she said.
“No!” Ariel said.
“Besides, you're not GIVING me the trident, dear---just letting me borrow it for a bit. You can save Flounder! Lend me the trident, and I'll help you!”
“I know. But Daddy needs the trident to defend Atlantica. I need time to think.”
“Well, it's all the same to me. Just remember, your little friend is dodging fishhooks while you twiddle your fins. Well, you can come see me once you've made up your mind.” Ursula disappeared in a cloud of black smoke.
“What am I going to do?” Ariel asked. You, Sora, Donald, and Goofy walked up to Ariel.
“Don't trust HER, that's for sure,” you said.
“How long have you been listening?” Ariel asked.
“Oh, long enough,” Sora said.
“It doesn't matter. (Y/N)'s right! Don't trust that sea witch! She's up to no good. You can see it in her face!” Donald said.
“Then we all agree! The problem is, I don't have any idea where Flounder is. And she's the only one who can help,” Ariel said.
“What about us? C'mon. Let's go talk to her. You shouldn't have to do this by yourself,” Sora said.
“Really? You'll come with me?”
“You bet! Sora and I know how it feels to have friends in trouble. Let's get going!” you said. You, Sora, Donald, Goofy, and Ariel entered Ursula's lair. Ursula came out of the shell at the end of the room and down to the ground.
“My, so many guests! Have you made up your mind, my dear?” she said.
“I'll do anything for Flounder. But I need proof I can trust you. You said we could save Flounder if I gave you the trident. Well, prove it!” Ariel said.
“But of course! See?” Ursula waved her hand, and Flounder appeared in a shroud of darkness.
“Ariel!” Flounder said.
“I knew something was fishy!” Donald said.
“There you have it. If you want your precious Flounder back, give me the trident!” Ursula said. The trident glowed and levitated over to Ursula.
“Ha ha! Mine at last! Now I'm ruler of all the seas!” she said.
“Let Flounder go!” Ariel said.
“But of course! I'm feeling generous.” Ursula let Flounder go and he swam over to Ariel.
“Which reminds me... You always wanted to see other worlds, didn't you? Well, dear, I know just the world to send you to! Unfortunately, this will be a one-way trip!” Ursula said. She created a strike of lightning with the trident. You and Sora was transported to a single platform. Ursula, who had grown gigantic with the power of the trident, slammed her tentacles down.
“The sea and all its denizens shall grovel before me!” she said. You and Sora fought and defeated Ursula. Everyone was back in Ursula's lair afterwards.
“Please don't be mad, Ariel. That ol' witch tricked me,” Flounder said.
“Flounder, as long as you're safe, nothing else matters. Now all we have to do is return the trident and everything will be okay,” Ariel said.
“But what if the king finds out you're the one who took it in the first place?” you asked.
“I'll be grounded forever...” Sebastian's voice was heard somewhere in the area.
“Ariel! Ariel! Where are you, girl? If you can hear me, please answer!” he said.
“It's Sebastian! He came all this way just to find me,” Ariel said.
“Yep, and when he does, you're gonna get it!” Goofy said.
“Hey, I know! Why don't you just say the sea witch stole the trident? And you got it back all by yourself! Then there's no way you'll get in trouble!” Sora said.
“I just had the same idea! But...I can't do that. I don't want to get in trouble, but I can't lie. Not about this. I know I haven't made the best decisions lately. It was a mistake to take the trident. But I made that mistake because I wanted to help you, Flounder. I'm proud of that. Blaming someone else would mean giving those feelings up. So, I'm going to tell the truth,” Ariel said.
“She's right, Sora! Honesty is the best policy,” Jiminy said.
“Hey, I was just kidding! Great, now I'M the one in hot water!” Sora said. You and the gang soon left Atlantica and entered the Eighth Floor Exit Hall. You and Sora saw Riku walking to the next floor and gasped. The two of you then ran to Riku.
“Take the hint... I told you two to go home,” Riku said.
“Not until we rescue you 'n Naminé,” Sora said.
“I don't remember ever asking you two to rescue me.”
“Did you forget? Kairi's there---waiting for us to come home,” you said.
“You're the one who forgot. I told you at Kingdom Hearts when we closed the door... ‘Take care of Kairi.’” You and Sora gasped and looked down.
“Give it up. I'm not going back to the islands---for anything,” Riku said.
“It's not just for Kairi! What about the rest?” you said.
“You can have those losers. Already forgot 'em.”
“That's enough!” Sora said as he summoned his keyblade and you with your dagger.
“What about you, guys? Do you actually remember what they all look like?” Riku asked.
“Of course we rememb---” Sora said. Sora looked down causing Riku to laugh.
“Don't feel bad. That's what this castle does to you---after a while. It's good. You forget all the useless stuff and remember for the first time what really matters. I remembered it. I now know the one thing that is most important to me. Protecting Naminé. Nothing else matters---not a thing,” Riku said. You and Sora looked at Riku and remembered when the three of you used to fight using wooden swords as children.
“Hey...Riku... I think I'll jog your memory,” you said. Sora readied his Keyblade while you readied your dagger. Riku snickered and raised his Soul Eater.
“Go ahead and try,” he said. You, Sora, and Riku battle. After the battle, Riku laid on foot on the ground, defeated. He used his weapon to get up.
“Hmph. Too bad, you two. You can fight me all you want, but I still won't remember a thing,” he said.
“C'mon, Riku... Let's quit fighting---let's go help Naminé,” Sora said.
“Together---right. So like you... ...Sora, (Y/N)---you're always trying to worm your way into my heart!” He held his weapon to you and Sora in a hostile manner.
“Hold on! When did we ever do that?” you said.
“Hmph, you forgot that, too? You two never cared. It never mattered to you!” Riku said. He ran away into the next floor.
“You won't push us away,” Sora said. You and the gang left the Exit Hall. Meanwhile, the girl was still in the white room. Axel appeared and walked over to her.
“Does it hurt, Naminé? Watching your three childhood friends fight all because of you? You have my sympathies. From the heart,” he said. Naminé picked her head up and looked angrily at Axel.
“But don't waste your time. We Nobodies can never hope to be somebodies,” Axel said.
~~~~
You, Sora, Donald, and Goofy entered the Ninth Floor. Sora sighed and you put your head down while Donald and Goofy looked at each other, worried.
“I don't get it. Riku and I---we both want the same thing. Both of us want to help Naminé out. How come we're fighting each other? I mean, Riku and I have argued about stuff in the past, but...” Sora said.
“I know. But he was always so kind around me. What happened to him?” you said.
“Could be 'cause ya care what happens to each other,” Goofy said. Donald nodded in agreement.
“Hm... I really thought so, too, but...maybe Riku doesn't...” Sora said.
“You can't give up. You're friends---tied together. (Y/N), Sora, Riku, and... and... What was her name?” Donald said. Goofy thought but came up with nothing.
“Hm. It seems our memories are fading mighty fast. Sora, (Y/N), we gotta hurry. I bet Riku will come around if you just talk to him,” Jiminy said.
“You're right. We three were never apart. Me, Sora, 'n Riku... ...and Naminé,” you said. You and Sora held up the next card at the Ninth Floor world entrance, and entered to the next world.
To be continued...
spoilers My thoughts on KHMoM
Although I’m not done with the game yet I already finished the story, and with 30 hours of game time under my belt I think it’s enough to share my thoughts on it, both good and bad:
At first I thought Kairi’s narration would come to a close with her retelling the memories of her heart to someone (Ienzo, Ansem the Wise, etc), but it’s obvious by the fact that she mentions things there’s no way she could know of that the narration is more likely for us the players. This took me out of it a little because it couldn’t fit with MoM’s story; yes they were searching Kairi’s heart and it would have made sense if it was only Kairi’s perspective, but a lot of it has no place in her memory at all. It was just the franchise’s recap, and anybody else could have been narrating. Chirithy could have been a better option since he may actually know a lot more than Kairi does.
Alyson Stoner does a good job voice acting, but she’s not good at voicing Kairi. Her narration sounds more like Xion than Kairi, so you can tell she’s not able to separate them like Jesse does with Ven and Roxas. Alyson’s hoarse raspy voice in the narration gives Xion vibes, but idk if she was directed to do so because in KH3 her Kairi actually sounds a little more high pitched than she does in the narration of MoM.
Although the mapping of some songs could have been better I immensely enjoyed most of the songs in the game. I played in Proud mode and it felt balanced, challenging and fun.
The memory tracks were fun as well since the slight difference in gameplay, and I liked how they adapted it to boss battles as well.
Mickey changing outfits depending on what team you’re using is nice. I especially appreciate his look with the black coat it looks so silly I love it xD
I can’t believe there are 6 songs for Neverland plus Ruler or the Sky’s theme and “Neverland Sky” did not make the final cut goshdangit.
I’m genuinely surprised there were no Pirates of the Caribbean tracks. Probably something to do with copyright.
Seeing Aqua fly was lovely she looks so graceful and pretty I loved it QwQ
I appreciated that One Winged Angel made it, it was a pleasant surprise xD
Original Simple and Clean was nice but I was kinda hoping we’d have at least one of the remixed versions. Oh well.
It was so strange being able to interrupt Aqua’s animations to have her attack or jump because of how I used I was to having to wait for all her animations in BbS xD I mean it was nice! But it felt weird like ‘woah I can do that???’ Crazy stuff.
To this date KH3D is one of the games I like the least of the franchise and after playing the songs I realized how much I don’t like its soundtrack either xD Only songs I can actually hum from memory is All for One. For me most of the Disney world songs are pretty meh.
I can see what they were going for adding the extra Disney songs of Circle of Life, Beauty and the Beast and A Whole New World but because they can be kinda slow songs I don’t feel like they fit so good for a rhythm game? Specially Beauty and the Beast I did not like as much.
Seeing Elsa being shoved on the back of the box felt so shameless from Disney’s part you can tell they had Square at gun point and told them to have her there. That and also that Arendelle’s song was Let it Go instead of the actual world song like the rest of KH3′s Disney worlds.
VS Battles online are fun, I like ‘em c:
In the final battle it felt so wrong that Sora was the one to fight Xehanort instead of Kairi. It felt like a slap to the face after Kairi was so hyped as protagonist for this story. You wanna include Sora in this fight? Have Kairi fight with the Kingdom Key instead of Destiny’s Embrace, that way Kairi gets to fight Xehanort while also letting the players know that Sora is there helping her.
Seeing the flashback of her being taken by student Xehanort was hella interesting and creepy but in a cool way. I liked it.
I... don’t know how to feel about the fictional world. I’m still taking it all in xD but I’m open to it.
The way Kairi and Riku were so excited to see each other was hella cute ngl <3
I was kinda hoping Nameless Star would be Strelitzia, but it really seems like she’s Yozora’s gf. That’s fine I can live with that, she’s nice and I like her.
I can understand the logic of why Kairi did not go with Riku. Really, I do. But it felt like another slap to the face xD Like damn this poor girl barely got the spotlight before Riku went away with it again.
Kairi is gonna be Aqua’s student!! I’m actually really looking forward to this and I hope we get to see more of their interactions c:
Mickey trying to run off after Riku and having Donald and Goofy tackle him was so funny like bro who the hell are you kidding? You went off on your own to do shit without telling anyone all the way back from KH1.
“But Master Yen Sid, he’s all alone in a world we know nothing about!” That didn’t stop you before from taking your sweet time to rescue Aqua did it??? 💢💢💢
See? I told you guys there wouldn’t be any new Ven dialogue :’v
The final credits with everyone flying with Sora that one moment where it was him, Roxas and Ven just made me go 😍😍😍😍😍 !!
Yen Sid asking Donald and Goofy to tell everyone to stop their respective searches was such a relief Terra, Aqua and Ven can finally get out of the Realm of Darkness after a year of searching there QwQ
The setup for the next entry in the franchise got me definitely excited! I’ll be looking forward to anything new Nomura releases, and I’ll be on the lookout for KH’s 20th anniversary in 2022 c:
Sora/Nao Getting Together and Relationship Headcanons!
Wow lookit me posting twice in one day!
Please read this post of HCs about their third year or this will make absolutely no sense to you! You can also read part two but it’s long and you don’t need to for this to make sense.
However, if you don’t want to read either of those, the run down is: Sora is cap, Mokichi vice; their year are all on first-name basis since around the end of second year; when people ask if any of the three boys are dating, all four of them just shrug and smile cryptically, because they got really sick of people asking; Nao briefly had a boyfriend named Nakamura but turned out he was just trying to get info on her team for his school so he cheated on her and the team rioted. Tobi and Madoka beat him up.)
This is four and a half pages of a Google Doc, so please see below the cut for the HCs!
Oh also btw this has minor Tobi/Mokichi because, hello, Tobi is living in my mind rent free and he’s not letting me evict him. (Even though I would really, really like to.)
In the middle of Sora and Nao's second year, the entire rest of the boys' team plus the girls' team made a pact not to interfere with Sora and Nao's relationship, and let them sort things out on their own, because some people were getting antsy and tempted to get involved. And they are... starting to regret that.
Tobi, especially, is starting to regret that, and he kind of wants to strangle them both because they're both so dense jfc-
Chiaki is the only one who doesn't know about the pact, since the fact that Nao likes Sora has been very carefully kept from him, and basically so is anything about Nao in general. There’s a pact on the team to make sure to keep such things from him. (Momoharu is the one responsible for this and he's not the least bit sorry. It’s saved him so much pain.)
Nao has been crushing on Sora since first year, and Sora not denying it when people ask if they're dating is NOT helping her feelings, good God.
She spends like a solid twenty minutes every day panicking and/or crying in the arms of one of her friends on the girls' team and/or Tobi.
He is arguably her closest friend on the team beyond Sora (read here for my post about why I think they’re friends), and has long since passed the point of sympathetic into "Oh my God just ask ‘im out, Jesus-" and honestly, so has pretty much everyone except Mokichi, but Mokichi has the patience of a saint.
Sora probably got over Madoka in his second year if he confessed to her (again) and she gently rejected him or if she found a boyfriend (read: Momoharu, probably. I dunno if they worked out, but if they didn’t they remained very good friends. Yes, that’s actually a thing people can do!)
Some time passed, he was over it, and then he developed a more serious crush on Nao after a while.
And it just keeps getting worse and Sora is not thrilled with that. In fact, he's panicking, because feelings.
He's spent a grand total of at least nine hours on the phone ranting to Momoharu (because again, Nao does not get mentioned to Chiaki, so Momoharu it is!)
The entire rest of the team is suffering. First years, second years, Tobi and Mokichi, and those who have graduated. No one is spared. The girls' team has been roped in as well. More than a few people bond over sheer doneness with these two idiots.
Tobi, calling Momoharu: I wanna Die.
Momoharu: Mood, why?
Tobi: Nao ‘as the biggest crush on Sora and won’t do anythin’ about it and I'm sufferin’.
Momoharu: CHRIST, NO -- HE'S DOING THE SAME THING I’M -- WHY IS THIS MY LIFE???
Tobi: Oh my God.
Tobi: I hate them both so, so much.
Momoharu, vehemently: Mood.
Tobi and Mokichi are bearing the brunt of it, and Momoharu is also dealing with quite a lot of the bullsh*t.
Tobi, bitterly, lying on his bed while on the phone with Mokichi and Momoharu: How immoral is it to lock two of yer best friends in a broom closet or locker an’ not let ‘em out ‘til they deal with their feelins like adults?
Mokichi, tiredly: Kenji-kun, no.
Momoharu: I hate to say this because I would like to see that, and it would be very cathartic, but no because they would die in that closet before fessing up.
Tobi:
Tobi: I hate that yer prolly right.
Shigeyoshi "literal actual angel" Kaname has been dealing with ranting from both parties since second year, and he and Tobi have taken to meeting up weekly for lunch or coffee for the sole purpose of complaining about their dumbass friends, and honestly? They get a lot closer because of it.
Tobi, throwing open the door to Mokichi’s house with a bang: KANAME YA ARE NOT GOIN’ TO BELIEVE THIS SH*T-
Mokichi, exasperated, staring down at his phone with its messages from Sora: Oh, I’m pretty sure I will.
Mokichi’s sister: How do you keep getting in-
Tobi: Oh I nabbed Kaname’s key like three months back.
Mokichi: wAIT is that where that go to I thought I lost it?!
Tobi: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Tobi gets roped into Sora's group of "people to rant to" with Mokichi and Momoharu and, at this point, Chiaki as well (Sora eventually told Chiaki, and Chiaki acted all comically betrayed but things were fine) (Momoharu mostly told people not to tell Chiaki in order to annoy Chiaki in all honesty.)
Tobi: Why the f*ck did I agree ta stay at this school
Mokichi: Why did I come to this school at all
Tobi: Why did I join tha basketball team
Tobi: Why did I let Sora become my friend
Tobi: How did I let Sora become my friend?????? Like how did tha’ even happen Jesus I'm still not sure
Mokichi: Poor decisions were made?
Tobi, vehemently: Poor decisions were made.
Then Nao gets a boyfriend and literally everything goes to sh*t (please read THIS POST for the context. It’s the same one I linked at the top. Again, this will make no sense without it. Go read.)
Nao is trying to get over her feelings for Sora because despite having no reason to believe so (having not... asked him about it), she firmly believes that he doesn't return them.
Mokichi has to actually physically restrain Tobi to prevent him from strangling them both on at least two occasions. Like seriously. Tobi might have really punched Sora if he hadn't been held back by local noodle-armed beanpole.
To this day absolutely none of the underclassmen (or Nao and Sora) are sure how Mokichi did that, because third-year Tobi is 180-something centimeters of pure wiry muscle and Mokichi, despite being a two-meter tall noodle, is still a noodle, and his arms are very very noodley.
Where he found the physical strength to restrain an angry Tobi is literally a complete mystery, because Tobi is strong to begin with but when you're trying to restrain his entire person from walking where he wants to? Good luck.
(The answer is he just wraps his longass noodle arms around Tobi and clings to him and is like "kay have fun dragging me around" and Tobi is like "ಠ_ಠ Kaname ya are heavy" "yes that is the point" "f*ck ya.")
Mokichi, whispering frantically on the phone: Momoharu-san please help Kenji-kun is trying to commit murder.
Tobi, yelling in the background: YA KNOW FULL WELL THA’ I CAN HEAR YA, KANAME!
Sora cries about Nao and Tobi is very tempted to just let him sulk, but Mokichi strongarms him into coming over to a sleepover at his house with Sora and basically the three of them just form a giant cuddle pile on the couch and watch stupid movies and eat a lot of ice cream while Tobi ribs Sora over anything and everything, and Sora soon finds himself laughing instead of crying.
Sora loves his friends so much??? He’s so glad he stuck with the basketball team????
Momoharu is this close to just blocking Sora's number.
"Sora. Sora you are one of my closest friends, and you know I love you, but I am in class for f*ck's sake-"
Seriously Sora keeps calling him just to b*tch about how horrible Nao's boyfriend is and Momoharu might actually go crazy.
If Sora drags on Nao’s boyfriend on more time Tobi is going to throttle him, he's had enough.
Mokichi is hitting the limits of his patience too, and that's actually an accomplishment.
But Tobi won’t lie, he’s getting a bad vibe off that guy? He does seem kind of sleazy? And when he hesitantly points that out over lunch with Mokichi -- they meet up just to complain about Nao and Sora at least once a week now -- Mokichi agrees, with a pensive frown, that he also has a bad vibe.
He doesn’t know, Mokichi says. Maybe they’re just all protective of Nao. Tobi sighs and agrees.
Tobi is fully aware of his big brother reflex by this point, but he will never, ever admit that he has such a thing out loud.
Turns out Sora was completely right about Nao’s boyfriend, though. (Even if it was just Sora being jealous, not actually Sora being intelligent.) The guy cheats on Nao, because he's a terrible person, and Sora is this close to hunting him down and committing murder, but he doesn't know what school he goes to.
Madoka calls Tobi to give him the guy's location, and Tobi goes, "please don' tell Sora tha's a bad idea" and Madoka goes "do you think I'm insane??"
Tobi and Madoka then absolutely thrash the guy and then get coffee afterwards and bond over oh my god, our friends are so dumb, because Madoka has been putting up with Nao's rants since first year.
Eventually Sora and the rest of the team convince (the very easily convinced) Tobi to give up the idiot's location and they all take a trip to beat the crap out of him.
Madoka then joins the I Have Pining Idiot Friends support group, which consists of Tobi, Mokichi, and Momoharu.
It's actually Madoka who finally decides to break the "no interfering" pact, after hearing about the sheer extent of the bullsh*t that's been happening, the parts that Nao didn't mention to her. She calls Sora and very tiredly goes "please just ask Nao-chan out, everyone is suffering."
Sora: wHAT
Tobi, eavesdropping as they're all changing: She told ya to ask Nao out
Tobi: Or I'm goin’ to deck ya I stg -- my patience is a very much finite resource, Sora.
Mokichi, tiredly: Please don't kill our captain
Tobi, ignoring him: Sora I am dead serious. Ask her out, or I will break yer nose, consequences be damned.
Tobi is So Relieved that the pact is over. He knew he'd catch grief for it if he broke it, and the second Madoka does, his reaction is "TIME TO PHYSICALLY THREATEN SORA INTO CONFESSING! YAY!"
Tobi, no.
Madoka is wheezing somewhere in the background but is also in full support of this movement.
After a large number of threats, Sora, bright red, stutters through asking Nao out to the amusement park or something, and Nao, also bright red, screams "WHAT" and Sora goes "Uh -- God, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have-" and goes to run.
And smacks directly into Mokichi who's like, "Uh, no, you're going nowhere. I am so done."
Tobi, internally: Oh thank God fer Kaname.
Nao, still a tomato, manages to squeak out "I'd love to!"
After Sora and Nao get through the "Really?!" "Really!" part, Tobi dramatically falls to his knees and yells "THANK F*CKING GOD, FINALLY," which, fair.
(And as Sora and Nao are stuttering through a semi-normal conversation after that, maybe Mokichi is in the background, shyly asking Tobi out for coffee without the excuse of talking about Sora and Nao, because maybe their relationship went from "I don't want people to think we're friends" to "I guess you're decent" to "we're friends" to something unnamed and fragile and delicate and maybe a little bit precious. And maybe when Tobi leans against his shoulder and Mokichi wraps an arm around his waist at practice, no one is surprised.)
It's on their third date, in a park after going to a cafe, when Nao abruptly asks, "Sora-kun, can I kiss you?"
Sora short circuits (again.) And Nao freezes up and goes, "Sorry, sorry, too soon, I'm so sorry-" and Sora freaks out and goes, "NO, NO IT'S FINE, I was just -- just surprised!"
They both calm down and take deep breaths, and then Sora steps closer and gently cups the back of her head as her eyes go wide and he asks, "is this okay?" She nods and nervously places one hand around his neck. They lean into each other and kiss softly, and it feels right.
They’re both bright red but they’re both smiling like idiots, and Sora holds her close and thinks, “Godd*mn I got lucky.” He whispers that to her, and she laughs, flustered, and says “Yeah, I did too.”
After six weeks or so of going out, Nao and Sora make it a "boyfriend/girlfriend" thing and now if Mokichi or Tobi are asked if they're dating Nao, they say that she's dating Sora; Nao blushes and shyly corrects the person if they asked about Mokichi/Tobi, or shyly confirms if it was about Sora; Sora just smiles, and confirms that he's dating Nao, blushing.
Mokichi invites Momoharu, Madoka, and Chiaki to lunch with the third years when they have a day off from practice for the sole purpose of giving Nao and Sora a hard time about their mutual pining
Tobi swears up and down that he's going to read out the most embarrassing speech at their wedding and expose them to everyone there, and Nao and Sora both turn bright red and short circuit for a solid five minutes at the mention of marriage while the others laugh at them.
At the end of the year, Nao and Sora receive a trophy from their kouhai that says "Most Disastrous Couple Ever." Tobi and Mokichi didn't stop laughing for a solid twenty minutes, and Tobi is still giving them sh*t about the trophy five years later.
They both attend university and maintain their relationship throughout. Sora proposes when they’re both 29, at the same park where they had their first kiss, on the anniversary of the day they met, because he’s sappy AF. Tobi is rolling his eyes somewhere in the background.
It’s a warm summer night. They get dinner at an expensive formal restaurant. He takes her to the park, and reminisces about the first time they went there together. It was the day Nao joined the team, he recalls. She had left after the practice game, and he had followed her. He had been so impressed by her, he tells her, and he still is. He doesn’t know how he came to deserve her, and she blushes and says she feels the same about him, that he’s just as amazing.
Sora covers her eyes and leads her to a ring of trees in the middle of the park, and uncovers them to reveal that they’re standing in a gazebo covered in flowers and fairy lights. And he smiles at her, and gets down on one knee. Nao’s hands fly to her mouth as he says, “I have been in love with you for well over ten years, and I would like to call you my family officially. Nanao Nao, my light, the love of my life, my everything, will you marry me?”
“Of course I will, you big sap!” she cries, tackling him, tears in her eyes, and kisses him. Neither of them care that they’re getting dirt on their suit and dress; the only thing that matters to either of them is each other.
They get married roughly a year after. Madoka is Nao’s maid of honor. Sora’s best man is probably Momoharu, Tobi, or Mokichi. Maybe Chiaki? I don’t know.
I almost want to make it Momoharu just because he would first completely drag Sora and Nao for their bullsh*t back in high school, grinning, and then invite Tobi up on stage to polish it off. Tobi, on the other hand, would just roast them on his own, which is probably why Sora decides not to make Tobi his best man. (“I trusted you, Momoharu-kun!” “Well that’s on you, Sora.”)
(And if Tobi catches the bouquet and gives it to Mokichi, no one’s saying anything.)
(They will, however, be saying things when Tobi gets down on one knee in the center of the dance floor an hour into the reception and says, “Given that our relationship was formed by bondin’ over these two idiots takin’ two and a half years ta get together, it only seems right that we tie tha knot because they did too. Kaname, will ya marry me?” Mokichi cries and says yes. Nao and Sora also cry. Yes, Tobi got their permission to steal their thunder beforehand. He was sorely tempted not to, just to get back at them, because yes he’s still salty about high school, but he figured he’d better ask.)
When they’re about 38, they adopt a daughter! And yes the others are her aunts and uncles.
Her name is Akari, which means light, and she is a problem child, but she's definitely not Tobi/Hanazono twins levels of problem child, and they love her anyway.
Her name is Nanao-Kurumatani Akari, because screw gender norms, says Sora. Nao’s reaction is “oh my God I love you so much.”
She was about 5 when they adopted her.
Her favorite uncle/aunt is Mokichi (absolutely no one understands why including Mokichi himself) and yes Tobi is mad.
Also Tobi adores her. Tobi sees a small child? Are you kidding me, have you seen him with his sister? Tobi seems like he'd be with horrible with kids but he loves the little sh*ts.
She plays basketball as a PF and she is so tall and yes, Sora is salty.
Scoring machine and inside player, but also learned strategy from Nao (after a terrible loss, she asked her mother to teacher her) and.... fear.jpg.
Basically, Sora and Nao are the most tooth-rotting-ly sweet, romantic, cliché in the best way, sappy, and adorable couple ever, and it’s bad for everyone’s dentist bills.
Here’s a Sora/Tobi edition (I apologize to SoraNao shippers because it’s twice as long and I didn’t even realize that for ages), because again, I have Tobi brainrot. God help me.
For Valentine’s Day.
Sora and Kairi’s dates from the end of Re:Mind.
Change of Focus Sora had wanted to see fireworks with Kairi, ever since he'd seen them going on during a Struggle Tournament in Twilight Town. Those hadn't been particularly spectacular, however, as they’d just been pale white fireworks upon a light backdrop. But since they had been the first ones Sora had ever seen-right before he'd found Riku and Kairi at the World That Never Was—they held a special place in his heart. And so, the Keyblade wielder was thrilled that he was experiencing this with Kairi now (and Chirithy). Sora wanted to give Kairi everything he possibly could—as he’d realized after Kairi had said how excited she was about sailing, on that night long ago—before his time in this world was up... though he refused to think about that part of it, just yet. "This is so lovely, Sora!" Kairi chirped, as a dark purple firework lit up overhead, to make Kairi even more beautiful in Sora’s eyes. "Where did you even learn about fireworks… and get the idea to set them off here?" It was Sora who had set up the fireworks being used, when Kairi, Chirithy, and himself had first come to Disney Castle—when Sora and Kairi had decided that they wanted to go on a nice date, already, but also wanted to secretly check on their friends as they did so—Sora had found said explosives in Disney Castle, and had gotten them out in the hopes that his friends would set them off... And now they were. And as that fact made this the perfect experience for Kairi and himself in every way imaginable, Sora couldn't have felt more love in his heart now for both his girl and his friends. "I first saw them in Twilight Town, Kairi," Sora explained, as he took the love of his life’s hand in his own and selfishly found himself wishing that Chirithy wasn't with them, after all (if for just a moment), so he could maybe finally kiss her. But Sora let it go, as he lost himself in conversation as he always did. "And they were so cool, I became instantly addicted. Y’know? So I just had to show them to you! And I kinda figured King Mickey deserved ta see ‘em with Queen Minnie, too." And Sora scratched his cheek awkwardly, when he realized that he’d pretty much just compared Kairi and himself to the king and queen—and had admitted without really saying a thing about the matter, that they were dating—but when Kairi giggled, and leaned into Sora so that her head was on his shoulder and her arm around his waist—Sora decided all was right in the world. She then showed him a glowing stick she’d gotten from Merlin when he’d visited her in the Enchanted Forest. So, both him and Kairi were showing each other glowing lights… it made Sora happy to know this; and he rested his head atop her own in response. … Sora and Kairi weren't exactly acting like the… best surrogate parents to Chirithy, when they visited The Land of Departure again for the first time. Instead, the two had way too much fun playing on Terra, Ventus, and Aqua's training grounds. Sora splashed Kairi with water, the way that he had Rapunzel here… Kairi gracefully jumped through some loops while summoning water magic there (she was clearly taking a page out of Aqua’s book)… and then the two of them were rolling down a hill. And though Sora accidentally landed on top of Kairi—and they did gaze into each other’s eyes longingly for a second when it happened—they didn’t lock lips with each other, or anything, like that (that would have scarred Chirithy for life), but they did end up throwing grass at each other... and if Sora dreamed that maybe he could get some of it off of Kairi by using his mouth—what?! Grass was edible!—he kept it to himself. And it was when Kairi was pulling a shard of blue grass off of Sora's chin, with her lips parted, that he noticed it: Terra, Ventus, and Aqua were solemnly carrying their wayfinders with them towards a makeshift grave made for Master Eraqus. It was then that Sora and Kairi got up, stopped goofing off, and tried to usher Chirithy towards Ven. Sora in particular was doing this with words, as his little friend continued on trying to fight the natural order of friendship. "Come on, Chirithy. Friends help friends through moments of grief! You being there for Ven is exactly what he needs right now and will help him accept you again!" "Yes!" Kairi jumped on the bandwagon, as she nodded her head enthusiastically. "If you're kind to Ven, I'm sure he'll remember you! When Sora believed in me when I faced Xehanort, it reminded me of when he said I should pursue drawing when we were young: since I was better at art than him, in his eyes." For some reason, a slight blush had risen up to stain Kairi's cheeks as she’d said this; that somehow also made her freckles more visible to Sora than they usually were, and he couldn’t get over just how cute she was. And Sora could really appreciate it now, because Chirithy had listened to them and was back where he belonged. And. so Sora took one of Kairi's hands in his own. … "I'm more than okay with being in Twilight Town again, Sora. I want to check in on dear Hayner, Pence, and Olette—but if we're going to get ice cream while we're her... Do you mind if we try other flavors, too?" And after the amazing chocolate that he'd had in San Fransokyo with Big Hero Six, Sora could only say “yes”. He got where Kairi was coming from, after all. The part of him that was still Roxas was fighting this idea in his head tooth and nail... but after having had so much sea salt ice cream from Scrooge McDuck near a year ago, Sora was getting a bit sick of the blue treat himself. "Yes, Kairi. Anything you want!" Sora assured his girl, as he took her hand in his and she leaned against him. And they did do anything they wanted to do. Like, in traversing around Twilight Town, Sora and Kairi found something called "Dip 'n Dots", that was apparently the “ice cream of the future”—something Sora was hyped for, even despite the fact he didn’t have a future—and it was great! Though there was some confusion when Hayner, Pence, and Olette came to join them—and some ice cream fell out of Kairi's cup, and Olette thought they were beads from her bracelet and tried to grab them up—but other than that, it was one of Sora’s top five instances, for sure. And after Sora and Kairi bought Olette some gloves, to try and make her cold hands feel better, the couple finally got some sea salt ice cream (having had enough of vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, and orange sherbet at this point), and headed up Twilight Town clock tower as far as they could. Sora wanted to “fly” with Kairi again, after all. And it was when the two of them were nibbling on their second bar of it—…so maybe they'd realized they liked sea salt ice cream more than they were earlier thinking. Stomach aches, be damned—that they noticed Roxas, Lea, Xion, Isa, Hayner, Pence, and Olette all sitting beneath them! "Do you think we should say anything?" Sora asked, cocking his head to the side: because as nice as Roxas, Axel, Xion, Isa, and the Twilight Town trio’s hangout was seeming right now, what if Hayner, Pence, and Olette remembered that Axel had kidnapped Kairi and needed them to step in to tell them everything was alright?! But Kairi was quick to convince Sora otherwise, as she placed a gentle hand on his own. "This is between all of them, Sora. Bridges need to be mended for them, the way they were for us with Riku. And in that way, it’ll be a more real and cherished memory for them that way, when all is said and done." …And Sora couldn’t help wondering if he’d have to find a way to mend bridges with Kairi, if he found a way to become corporeal again in the future and return to her… Probably. And there’d probably be quite a few fights before he could prove himself to her again. But Sora had always enjoyed Kairi’s fire, despite everything, and if he had to go through even that to stand by her side again, he gladly would. And for the first time ever, Sora’s lips found Kairi, as he pressed them to her rose red hair. ... "…Sora, why did you let me get so hung up on seeing the worlds with you?! We’ve both been remiss on helping Naminé!" Kairi exclaimed, pulling at her hair in an agitated manner, said suddenly to Sora, exited the station together. "…But why am I placing blame on you, Sora, when it’s really my fault? I just... got caught up with everything--and what you said to Chirithy about seeing new places with those you care about--and how there’s clearly something wrong with you and you won’t tell me why… but can we go to her Replica body now?” Sora certainly didn't have to be asked twice. He opened a Corridor of Light—something he’d recently learned from being connected to Terra—and pushed Kairi through it: his hand on her back lingering for just a moment, as he tried to use a cure to heal any scar she might have still have there, from… from- And Kairi must have noticed what Sora had done there, because she rocketed back towards him and kissed him on the cheek. And if her purity, and the feelings she made him feel, melted Sora into a pile goo and made him realize he could never tell her what was happening to him... well, that was his business and his alone, wasn’t it? … Sora and Kairi positively ran to Radiant Garden castle—wanting Naminé by their side again instantly—but it ended up being the waiting game, anyway, as Ansem, Ienzo, and Even had to set up the Replica body first. As so as Sora and Kairi waited, they alternated between running a hand through Naminé's hair here, or massaging her face with a thumb there, and playing paper games together as they waited. But eventually, the scientists came and joined the pair—telling Kairi they were ready for Naminé's heart—just when Sora began panicking. Thankfully, the Organization members decided to leave Sora when he began to second-guess himself, so they’d be able to say they hadn’t witnessed him lacking tact at all. "Kairi..." Sora began, hanging his head—as memories of when Xehanort had separated them all heart from body came to mind --"I don't know about this. I don’t want to risk hurting your heart!" But Kairi, as she so often did, knew exactly what Sora needed—and put her hand over his heart, as she looked at him with pure unadulterated love and trust. "But Sora, it has to be you since you care as much about Naminé as I do." And when Kairi put it like that, there was no way to deny what needed to be done. Was there? More and more memories of Naminé from Castle Oblivion were coming back to Sora now, and he’d do anything to put a smile on that face again. And as for Kairi… well, there were no words to describe just how good she was and what she meant to him. He would die before he ever harmed her. And so Sora would do this, and make sure nothing happened to Kairi or Naminé, because he loved them both, wouldn’t he? …Besides, the way Kairi wanted him to do something as intimate as freeing her heart, and perhaps cradling it in his hands,, spoke of other intimate bonds she'd maybe want them to have in the future... someday. And since Sora was her first love, he didn’t want to break this kind of trust in her or him so easily. So, Sora ushered the scientists even further away from them—because he and Kairi had done everything else alone in the worlds they’d visited, thus far; And Sora at least wanted to pretend that it had been the same way here—and felt for two hearts that were nearly one, and smiled when he was rewarded with then was light. …And that while they were leaving, that light appeared to find something worthwhile with the dawn. ... It had been no question to Sora that he would take Kairi home when everything was said and done. He had promised her she could always come back to this place, hadn't he? And he was determined to keep his oaths to Kairi now. And Sora also recalled how he'd told his friends both he and Kairi would come back here safe, before they knew it. And he would keep that promise, too. The lovers sat on the paopu tree together—where their destinies had first become one—and while Sora could sense his friends behind them and internally marveled at their joy, his real focus was on Kairi's beauty. And Sora held Kairi’s hand in his, tighter than he ever had, as he felt himself begin to fade away. And as he did, he had to try and reassure her some, via with the truest words he'd ever uttered, and close his eyes against the tear Kairi cried, that he had never wanted to see, Before Sora was fully gone, he heard a lovely "You're not getting off that easily" from Kairi. And next thing he knew, he was catching Kairi’s tear in the hand that had held hers last… and he was alive and whole again.
