A look at what Osmp!Ranboo's backstory might be like. That's...pretty much it.

WARNING: MIGHT CONTAIN SCENES THAT TUG YOUR HEART, FLUFF, AND CHARACTER DEATH.
READER DISCRETION IS ADVISED.
Written as a gift for @azurecake16 for the @mcytblrholidayexchange. Sorry itās late!
Hey there! So sorry for the extra wait for your gift! I procrastinated a bit too close to the sun, I'm afraid. But I hope you like it.
I decided to go with something different to what I usually write, as you said you liked seeing people's headcannons and I could go wild with that. What's wilder than a whole personal interpretation of what Origins!Ranboo's background might be like? This uses the trasfem Ranboo headcannon and combines it with the headcannon that Ranboo has two moms. I've also added Aimsey as her cousin, but she's never really referred to by name. None of them are, really.
This'll make sense in the next part. But that might not be out for another month yet. It depends. Sorry about that!
As a bit of a reminder/to clarify: this whole thing is from Ranboo's POV.
But...happy reading!

I've played both divinity games, original sin and 2 and all I can remember is I liked a guy you can either kill or deal with named Ryker. Apparently Ryker:
- Is clearly an intelligent individual and foreshadows a lot with the way he expresses his words. It appears that Ryker is only interested in people if they can give him something, whether that is a friend, an item, a contract or anything else. He basically has a plan for everyone that he finds interesting.
- Although Ryker doesn't love his pets, he doesn't dislike them either. In his room his cat Cottontail and dog Dot are fighting over who he likes better and while no answer is right or wrong Ryker does prefer the cat because she helps get rid of the rats.
- Ryker hates it if you touch his items, or even look at them for that matter.
- Ryker is actually reading a tale about a Green Stone when you first enter his room and he seems to be extremely fascinated by it. Due to the many books and tomes in his home, it can be assumed that he loves to read.
- Ryker has a very neat handwriting according to the descriptions that describe his letters.
I keep falling for the same type of fictional man, it's literally the only one I like š©

Chapter Five: That Friday He Ruined Date Night
Friday was going to be an awesome day, if the morning was anything to go by.
Luka was by no means a morning person.Ā Back when he was still in school, he had had to set multiple alarms ā usually no less than five ā just to ensure he was up in time for class.Ā Sometimes even that hadnāt worked, and Juleka had taken to stashing a bucket by her bed for āemergenciesā (which, in her language, was any time she felt like being an ass and waking him up with ice water ā which happened more frequently once heād started dating Marinette).Ā After heād graduated and started to more actively pursue a career in music, heād found the life of a musician pandered better to the night life, as well.Ā Jagged Stone had told him on multiple occasions that was the life, and heād better get used to it if he was serious about this career path.Ā Heād been fine with that, as heād always worked better at night, anyway.
Marinette was the same way.Ā While she had tried to become more disciplined once she started lycĆ©e, her schedule was still chaotic enough that mornings were not her best time.Ā She also set multiple alarms, usually blaring the loudest rock song she could find (or the most annoying ā there had been that stint where sheād used an upbeat banjo song from an American zombie show; it had been absolute hell ā the song was catchy enough that it had been stuck in his head for months).Ā The alarms didnāt always help, as she often worked late into the night.Ā It seemed the creative mind was naturally a night owl, but it also meant that ā even with her still finishing school ā their schedules usually meshed, and it worked for them.
That Friday, however, found him up just before sunrise.Ā By all accounts, he shouldnāt have been: he had been up late the night before, and heād been enjoying a deep, restful sleep.Ā Possibly the best sleep heād had in about a week.Ā He was vaguely aware of a sound, of movement from Julekaās side of the room, and sleepily assumed she was getting ready for school.Ā It wouldnāt be the first time she had accidentally woken him up.Ā Usually heād just roll over and go back to sleep.Ā Probably stuff his head under his pillow.Ā And yet, that Friday, he found himself attempting to stay up.
Because, that Friday, there was a Marinette in his bed.
And he really liked having a Marinette in his bed.

Creator Spotlight: @mimimar
Hi! Iām Michelle (Mimimar), an illustrator born and raised in Venezuela, currently based in Italy. I enjoy making colorful illustrations that reflect the things I love: fairy tales, fantasy, tenderness and queer (especially sapphic) stories. Occasionally, I also make paper dolls, comics and animatics. I have a lot of interest in book illustration and Iām currently developing my own stories that I hope to share as an author-illustrator someday!
Check out our interview with Michelle below!
Did you originally have a background in art? If not, how did you start?
IĀ always enjoyed drawing when I was a kid, but it only became a hobby that I did almost every day when I was around 11. At first I only used traditional mediums, but I decided to make a serious effort to learn how to draw digitally when I was 15, and once I got the hang of it I never stopped!
I didnāt go to art school so all ofĀ my learning was done through studying the tutorials and resources that other artists generously share on the internet and lots of practice / trial and error.
How do you want to evolve as a creator?
I want to do many things but what I want to do the most right now is work on books! I want to make art for other authorsā stories and also my own stories as an author-illustrator. I want to grow as a storyteller and create art and stories that will really resonate with people emotionally. Iām always striving to improve my skills as well.
I also really love dolls, so working on doll box art or as a doll designer is something I would love to do someday. I actually have been designing paper dolls onĀ my PatreonĀ for the past few months, itās been a fun project that is still ongoing right now!
What is one habit you find yourself doing a lot as an artist?
Probably using a lot of purple! Itās my favorite color so I find myself using it a lot. If I can find a way to sneak a little bit of purple into an illustration or a character design then I will.
Congratulations on finishing yourĀ Ivy Comic! Did the outcome turn out like how you expected or were there some unexpected bumps along the way?
Thank you! Itās a project that I worked on very slowly in between other art because I wanted to really take my time with every spread and make each of them a fully detailed illustration. I thumbnailed the full comic before starting but I kept changing the sketch for the final spread until the very end! Overall Iām really proud of the end result. I sprinkled a lot of hidden details in every page that I hope some of the readers will notice. For example: the meanings of the flowers in each page represent what the characters are feeling in that moment, and the colors of their wardrobe become gradually lighter as the story progresses to represent their emotions, as well as the changing of seasons.
Weāve noticed that you have created someĀ amazing cover art for TGCF. Is there another series you would like to do something similar with?Ā
That was another passion project that took some time to complete. Initially, I didnāt intend for them to be specifically covers, it was just a series of illustrations based on the 5 books/main arcs of TGCF. But since they were well-received and I had people telling me they wish they could use them as covers for their books, I decided to rework them into dust jackets for the english translation of TGCF!
I havenāt thought of any other specific series but I love doing cover art so maybe Iāll do something similar again in the future!
Whatās your favorite part of your style? Why?
Iāve heard from other people that thereās a delicate quality to my art, this is something that I like a lot! I like pretty things, fairytales and vibrant colors. I think all of these things probably reflect in the art I make as well.
If there is one thing you want your audience to remember about your work, what would it be?
I hope that they remember how it made them feel. Feelings and colors are the two things I give priority to in my work. Most of the time I like depicting tenderness, softness and emotional intimacy. If that could reach the viewer and stay with them it would make me very happy.Ā
I make a lot of art with queer (mainly sapphic) themes because theyāre the kind of stories I personally like and want to see more of, so whenever people tell me that my art has helped them in their journey to discover and accept themselves, or that they see themselves and their partner in my art, it is always extremely meaningful to me. When art that I made to give myself comfort can provide comfort for others, no matter how small, it reminds me once again that despite any hardships art is genuinely worth pursuing.
Who on Tumblr inspires you and why?
So many artists! To name a few:Ā I love @sakizoās amazing eye for fashion and detail,Ā @paneepsā gorgeous style and striking colors,Ā the sweetness of @bevsiās art,Ā @vickisighās pretty colors and concepts,Ā @idledeeās warm and heartfelt art,Ā @littlestpersimmonās dreamy wonderful art,Ā and @loish has been an inspiration for as long as I can remember.
Thank you so much for stopping by and sharing, Michelle! Be sure to check out their Tumblr blog over atĀ @mimimar.

Colonel Matthias Jung
31 years old Jung grew up in Northern Amestris and entered the military academy at the age of sixteen. After his graduation, he got transferred to Fort Briggs, where he began his career with zeal. Because of his efficiency and intellect, he caught the attention of Briggs' current commanding officer quickly, who then pushed his growth.
Jung is a rational and calculating man who prizes discipline and obedience. He takes great pride in his station at Briggs and joined the military for two reasons: To serve his country and to shape it. His subordinates value Jung for his strong-will and his visions and he has a huge following of Briggs soldiers that stand behind him. Loyalties that are keen on helping him in taking on the position of Briggs' commanding officer, as the current General is close to his retirement.
To his rivals and others that seem to endanger his plan, Jung is cold and merciless. After all "Survival of the fittest" is the law of Briggs for a reason and Jung learned to take this law literal. If he sees use in someone, he makes sure to understand their interest and to create a positive view of himself in their understanding. All to play the cards given to him with all their potential.
Jungās plan on taking on Briggs command seems flawless and inevitable, despite his rival, who also seeks to get to Briggs' highest position. In his eyes, Armstrong is simply too young and severely lacks important characteristics of a leader. Nevertheless, he looks vary at those two men who newly arrived at the Fort with Armstrong. While Jung doesn't understand the purpose of bringing the grey haired man to the Fort, he knows that there is something more to him. Something he can't yet quite name. But the young doctor who also came along could prove useful for his visions.
In the end, only the strong shall survive and Jung will do anything to be part of the new future.

So... Wicked is coming back in style. And as such I need to make a little informative post.
Because since as early as my arrival onto the Internet, in the distant years of the late 2000s, a lot of people have been treating Wicked as some sort of "official" part of the Oz series. As part of the Oz canon or as THE "original" work everything else derives from (literaly, some people, probably kids, but did believe the MGM movie was made BASED on Wicked...) And as an Oz fan, that bothers me.
[Damn, ever since I watched Coco Peru's videos her voice echoes in my brain each time I say this line.]
So here's a few FACTS for you facts lovers.
The Wicked movie that is coming out right now (I was sold this as a series, turns out it is a movie duology?) is a cinematic adaptation of the stage musical Wicked created by Schwartz and Holzman, the Broadway classic and success of the 2000s (it was created in 2003).
Now, the Wicked musical everybody knows is itself an adaptation - and this fact is not as notorios, somehow? The Wicked musical is the adaptation of a novel released in 1995 by Gregory Maguire, called Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West. A very loose and condensed adaptation to say the least - as the Wicked musical is basically a lighter and simplified take on a much darker, brooding and mature tale. Basically fans of the novel have accused the musical of being some sort of honeyed, sugary-sweet, highschool-romance-fanfic-AU, while those who enjoyed the musical and went to see the novel are often shocked at discovering their favorite musical is based on what is basically a "dark and edgy - let's shock them all" take on the Oz lore. (Some do like both however, apparently? But I rarely met them.)
A side-fact which will be relevant later, is that this novel was but the first of a full series of novel Oz wrote about a dark-and-adult fantasy reimagining of the land of Oz - there's Son of a Witch, A Lion Among Men, Out of Oz, and more.
However the real fact I want to point out is that Maguire's novel, from which the musical itself derives, is a "grimmification" (to take back TV Tropes terminology) of the 1939 MGM movie The Wizard of Oz. The movie everybody knows when it comes to Oz, but that everybody forgets is itself the adaptation of a book - the same way people forget the Wicked musical is adapted from a novel. The MGM movie is adapted from L. Frank Baum's famous 1900 classic for children The Wonderful Wizard of Oz - and a quite loose adaptation that reimagines a lot of elements and details.
Now, a lot of people present Maguire's novel as being based/inspired/a revisionist take on Baum's novel... And that's false. Maguire's Wicked novel is clearly dominated by and mainly influenced by the MGM movie, with only a few book elements and details sprinkled on top. Mind you, the sequels Maguire wrote do take more elements, characters and plot points from the various Oz books of Baum... But they stay mostly Maguire's personal fantasy world. Yes, Oz "books" in plural - because that's a fact people tend to not know either... L. Frank Baum didn't just write one book about the Land of Oz. He wrote FOURTEEN of them, an entire series, because it was his most popular sales, and his audience like his editor pressured him to produce more (in fact he got sick of Oz and tried to write other books, but since they failed he was forced to continue Oz novels to survive). Everybody forgot about the Oz series due to the massive success of the starter novel - but it has a lot of very famous sequels, such as The Marvelous Land of Oz or Ozma of Oz (the later was loosely adapted by Disney as the famous 80s nostalgic-cursed movie Return to Oz).
So... To return to my original point. The current Wicked movies are not directly linked in any way to Baum's novel. The Wicked musical was already as "canon" and as "linked" to the MGM movie as 2013's Oz The Great and Powerful by Disney was. As for Maguire's novel, due to its dark, mature, brooding and more complex worldbuilding nature, I can only compare it to the recent attempt at making a "Game of Thrones Oz" through the television series Emerald City.
The Wicked movies coming out are separated from Baum's novel at the fourth degree. Because they are the movie adaptation of a musical adaptation of a novel reinventing a movie adaptation of the original children book.
And I could go even FURTHER if you dare me to and claim the Wicked movies are at the 5TH DEGREE! Because a little-known-fact is that the MGM movie was not a direct adaptation of Baum's novel... But rather took a lot of cues and influence from the massively famous stage-extravaganza of 1902 The Wizard of Oz... A musical adaptation of Baum's novel, created and written by Baum himself, and that was actually more popular than the novel in the pre-World War II America. It was from this enormous Broadway success (my my, how the snake bites its tail - the 1902 Wizard of Oz was the musical Wicked of its time) that, for example, the movie took the idea of the Good Witch of the North killing the sleeping-poppies with snow.

ik you were joking but I would be genuinely interested to hear about the flux cowriting credits strife if you feel like going into detail on it
So I have a big conspiracy theory about season 13 of Doctor Who ("Flux"), namely that there's a lost episode was scripted and even possibly filmed in near entirety, but ended up being cut and cannibalized in post production due to behind the scenes issues, and the fandom has yet to pick up on it.
For anyone who doesn't watch the show: Flux is a miniseries of Doctor Who; a full season was not commissioned because it was produced during Covid. The most important stuff about it for the purposes of this post are:
It's 6 episodes long (Ā¹). The episodes are all directly continuous and could not be shuffled around. (I should clarify here that, no, the showrunner can't simply choose on a whim to make 10 episodes, or only make 4; they had to stick to 6, as that was the amount they were picked up and scheduled for)
The showrunner, Chris Chibnall , wrote every episode apart from episode 4 (Village of the Angels) which he has a co-writing credit on.
(More subjectively but perhaps relevant) The season is largely considered to be kind of a structural mess and (less subjectively) there appears to some abnormal and consistent production issues (Ā²)
So the first thing I need to evidence here is that Chris Chibnall, aforementioned showrunner and writer of the entire season, was late. Like, really late.
Word of mouth gossip had been circulating for a while that there was some sort of on-set problem involving filming having to be paused because he was still finishing scripts: (Ā³)
This would later be confirmed at a Gallifrey One panel (ā“) with Matt Strevens, the executive producer, who suggests that filming stopped to allow Chris Chibnall to finish scripts; he further implies that large swathes of episode 5/Block 2 weren't written until Episode 4/Block 1 (in which Kevin McNally debuts) was filming:
So with that context, let's talk about that Episode 4, "Village of the Angels", the only episode not attributed solely to Chris Chibnall. Co written by Maxine Alderton.
The filming pics reveal an interesting bit of trivia for Village: namely, the clapperboards show that the story was actually filmed as episode 5, not 4:
As the above tweet suggests, this doesn't make much sense. The miniseries is, again, a single continuous plot. It's not like they flipped Village and the current episode 5, Survivors of the Flux; the latter explicitly takes place chronologically after it. And yet, Village having been intended as the penultimate episode 5 is further evidenced by the original trailer for it, in which a character states that the story takes place on the 28th of November. This line is dubbed over in the final episode and subsequent trailers to instead say the 21st:
Why is this line important enough to dub? Because that's meant to line up with the air date of the episode. Episode 4 aired on the 21st and 5 on the 28th. But something happened in post production, and now it's episode 4 on the 21st instead (āµ):
So if none of these episodes were moved around but it does seem like Village was meant to be episode 5, where and what is the original episode 4?
I have a theory.
Flux has a recurring subplot involving two side characters, a married couple (Bel and Vinder) who have been separated by the titular disaster and are traveling the universe to reunite with each other. This story is told through segments sprinkled throughout the episodes. These have a different writing style (including a diary-esque narration only present in these scenes) and an internally consistent visual style that looks somewhat different to the other parts of the season.
Village of the Angels, for instance, is a moody, dark episode set in a village in the 1960s:
However, Bel and Vinder's segments in the episode have a somewhat different look:
On top of this, they never intersect with the episode's A plot (literally or in any clear thematic way), and the majority of these segments piece together into one single scene that seems to have been cut up.
So, what I think is that the bel and vinder scenes across the middle of the season were originally a single full story, an episode 4 that took a breather from the main plot and characters to follow the lives of these two side characters; the differing visual and writing style is due to it originally having been filmed separately and with a somewhat different artistic intent. I believe Chris Chibnall's cowriting credit on Angels exists because these specific scenes are from a script he wrote, but that otherwise the Angel script can be credited solely to Maxine Alderton by normal cowriting standards.
"But wait," you might say, "I thought there were already 6 episodes that are all plot relevant? If no episodes existing right now can be cut, how could this 7th episode exist?"
Remember this tidbit:
The adventures in question comprise a large amount of the next episode (Episode 5: Survivors of the Flux), nearly 20 minutes of a 50ish minute runtime (and frankly, much of the rest of the episode is somewhat fluffy build up that feels like it's taking advantage of an extended runtime). A version without this added plot would, in my opinion, only warrant one final episode rather than two.
I think the showrunner, still scrambling to finish scripts as the episodes were being filmed, and making a snap decision to include a new major subplot (ā¶), wrote a finale script so long and with so many plot threads that the only way to keep all this material of was to split it into two episodes, 5 and 6. And because they only could only make 6, he had to get rid of one of the previous 5 episodes - the already scripted and filmed ones - to make room for this new episode 5. A tough order when it's a plot-heavy miniseries... if not for episode 4 being a standalone divergence from the main plot about the lives of two side characters, one that could, in theory, be cut up and dispersed throughout the season without continuity issues for the main story.
(Some notes and clarifications under the cut)
(1) some sources initially reported the episode count as 8; this wasn't inaccurate - the 2022 new years/easter special were part of the episode order. Flux itself was always meant to be 6 episodes long. (2) A few of the production issues include: - episodes filming without a second draft:
- the fx team that had been on the show since 2005 abruptly leaving midseason (because they "didn't feel like part of the team anymore") and returning as soon as the creative team changed, including the head of the studio implying they weren't properly credited (mild vfx body horror warning in link):
- people working on additional projects such as books not receiving clear information on the characters they were assigned to write:
- and likely a director who was put on hold due to a script being rewritten:
Among other things I can't directly cite at the moment, including vfx artists having to do whole episodes solo in crunch time and writers not being told their work was massively overhauled until it aired due to major changes being extremely late in production.
While I don't wish to pontificate too much here and many of these things are pretty normal by themselves, I do think it could paint a picture of a production where an episode well into filming may genuinely be cut on a whim and without consideration for the crew, artists, etc. working on the show. (3) This reddit post comes from a leaker who was known to be consistently accurate. (4) Gallifrey One does not allow filming of panels. I know Kevin's livetweets of panels to be accurate. (5) It's very, very unlikely the entire season was moved back a week, as the premier is a Halloween special that was certainly always intended to air on Oct. 31st. (6) I don't wish to insinuate Chris Chibnall is, throughout his career, an inherently poor showrunner, but I do think that maybe his jump from police procedural - a genre that doesn't involve quite as much concept art, vfx work, marketing, convention panels, set building, episodic storytelling, and keeping in touch with expanded universe producers - to flagship science fiction adventure show may have contributed to some of these issues, especially when he was already in the mindset that things could be changed on a whim (perhaps not such a major issue when it's broadchurch and no new sets need be built)
(source) Basically I don't really think this is "the showrunner's fault" or anything; more that a perfect storm of a showrunner who was habitually late on scripts, used to writing lowkey cop dramas, covid, an entirely serialized season, etc. may have led to these issues
#sorry this is insane#thirteenth doctor#flux#doctor who#long post#thank u to my friends and allies who helped me track down those sources for the scripts being late. i remembered them but couldn't find any
