I had this idea for a fic, but got stuck and it wasn't going nowhere so here's the basic idea:
Dean takes Cas out so he can get laid, because he's been interested in the concept of sex lately, but Cas isn't attracted to anyone and they come back home and spend the night watching tv instead.
The next morning Sam asks about the night out and Cas tells him he found some pretty intesrestimg people, but he "didn’t feel the urge to have sex with any of them".
"Wait, is this the reason why you gave up?" Dean's question was toned with amusement and followed by and eyeroll to Sam, 'can you believe him?'
Dean frowns when Cas answers with a nod.
"People don't actually do that, man."
"They... do."
"Hate to break that bubble, Sammy, but that’s something they made up to make porn more interesting."
"No, it isn't. Wait, don't you think people are attractive?"
"Where is this coming from? Of course I can appreciate when people are hot."
"So you want to have sex with them because of that."
Dean has to roll his eyes again, how could Sammy not get it?
"No? I have sex because it's fun and that's what you're supposed to do, but it's not like on tv, I won't be upset or frustrated if I don't get laid by someone with pretty eyes and nice smile or something. I thought you had known the basics already, college kid."
"But you check women out!"
"Because that's what men do!" He remembered Dad's implicit lessons (and others not so implicit) after Dean became, well, became Dean at the older Winchester's eyes.
"You have sex all the time!"
"Not in a long while, why would I when we're perfectly happy here? Why are we even having this conversation?"
"Because people do feel attracted to each other."
"Like what? They get an urge and have sex because they looked at each other?" Dean scoffs.
"Well, yes."
Idk what would happen here, Sam probably would try to explain what sexual attraction felt like and Dean would be like ??? No, never felt that.
Okay, it is a lot to take in, but Dean could accept that, especially when Cas said that some people were like Dean and there wasn’t anything wrong with it, not that the hunter was worried or anything. Well, at least he got why people liked sex, it wasn't like Sammy was saying they actually fall in love or actually believed in gender.

HAPPY PRIDE MONTH!
I'm only a little late, but better late than never!! Today I have for you: 16 recolours and an overlay, totaling to 17 pieces of cc!
Tumblr media
I know some of these have been recoloured for pride before, but I've never been happy with some of them, so I did it myself!
This started out as a personal recolour series for myself and my partner, but I wanted to share it with everyone! Because of that, please note that certain flags/terms were chosen with my personal wants/preferences in mind first, and then others I thought others might want/are never included in any recolour. If a flag is included that isn't the most popular version of it, or feels as though it might not fit, this would be why.
BGC, some meshes included, some not.
150 swatches per item, not including the overlays.
Overlays are located in the Toenail category.
The hoodies are an update to This Piece of CC that I made last year, and will replace the originals.
I realize this is a LOT of flags. It’s a lot for me to even remember. Feel free to remove swatches you’re not going to use, the original will always remain up if you want any back!
I won't be doing flag requests for these, but if you have a flag you'd like to see in game, may I interest you in This?
Every single item uses the same flags; if you feel something doesn't fit a particular piece of CC that's not my problem.
Don’t claim it as your own, and please feel free to tag me if you use it!
Most textures were sourced from Pride-Flags Deviant art, LGBTA Wiki, Tumblr, Twitter, or google search.
T[SW]ERFS/Bigots/Exclus die! You are not welcome to this CC :)
DOWNLOAD: [SFS] | [MF]
Meshes: [Answer] [Illusion] [Paper Plane] [Circle Earring]* [Bottlecap Earring]* [Adult Hoodies] [Bandana]* [Necklaces] [Child Hoodie] [Binder] * = REQUIRED
Below is a list of every flag included. Some flags include uncensored reclaimed slurs. If you don’t care for/disagree with a flag/term, just delete it from the file. I do not care, I will not be involved in any discourse, and if you message me about it, I will just ignore you. Please respect my boundaries. Thank you. Happy pride!
See also: [Pronoun Hoodies] [More Pride Flags v2] [Pride Thigh Highs] <- Made by my partner, using the same flags as below!
Usually I would link every single flag, but Tumblr refused to let me save the post while I was in the process of doing so. So, instead, you can find all the flag's sources and meanings [HERE]

Random aspec fictional character HCs
Matthew Cuthbert (Anne With an E)
Asexual + aromantic
Tumblr media
Lived his whole life unmarried like his sister but, unlike Marilla, never had any relationships in the past. Doesn't reciprocate Jeannie's feelings and tells her his love for his adopted daughter (Anne) is the only love he has room for. Was TERRIFIED when Anne tried to set him up with Jeannie.
*(this is specific to AWAE but I think it can apply to book Matthew as well)
Selah Summers (Selah and the Spades)
Asexual + aromantic
Tumblr media
Tbh this one might be canon (or at least heavily implied). Never has been in a relationship. Admits to Paloma that she's just never been interested in anyone in a romantic or sexual way.
Monkey D. Luffy (One Piece)
Asexual + aromantic
Tumblr media
Just doesn't seem remotely interested in romance or sex. Gets grossed out/ annoyed when people kiss in front of him.
*(this is specific to the anime, idk about the manga or live action adaptation)
**(I am not caught up on the anime, this may turn out to be incorrect)
Willie Jack Sampson (Reservation Dogs)
Asexual + aromantic
Tumblr media
Never had a love interest or showed attraction in the show (to the best of my knowledge. If she did, I missed it). Also, THIS OUTFIT SPECIFICALLY. Her hoodie is aroace colors and her socks look like a mix of the asexual flag and the aromantic flag.
Lucy Wells (Harlots)
Grey asexual/ greysexual (+possibly aromantic? Maybe demiromantic? I haven't decided yet)
Tumblr media
Born into prostitution but HATES sex. Avoids it as much as she can and by the last season finds a way to do her job without having to have sex. The reason I said grey ace is because she DOES seem sexually attracted to Fallon after some time of being with him (I think? I was a little confused about how she felt tbh).
Birdy (Birdy)
Asexual + demiromantic
Tumblr media
Everyone in his life thinks it's weird that he's so interested in birds and not girls. Admits to Al he doesn't see the appeal of sex at all. Very reluctant to go to prom with Doris and had no idea what to do when she parked the car and offered him sex. I can see him developing romantic feelings after close friendship (like with Al) which is why I think he's demiromantic.
Bilbo AND Frodo Baggins (The Hobbit/ The Lord of the Rings)
Both asexual (+ maybe demiromantic, though I can also see Bilbo as aro)
Tumblr media
Both remained bachelors all their lives. Bilbo lived alone and later with Frodo who was like an adopted son. Frodo lives for a long time with Sam and Sam's wife Rosie. I personally think that Sam and Frodo are in a romantic relationship, while Sam and Rosie are in a sexual relationship. Frodo seems content with this arrangement which is why I believe he's ace.
Ted Buckland (Scrubs)
Asexual
Tumblr media
Simply because of the part where Carla says "I don't want any MAN filming me giving birth unless he's completely asexual" and then Ted walks in with a camera and Carla smiles and says "oh hi Ted!". (I think this was a poorly-aged joke about him being "ugly" more than anything but I'm still claiming it). Also when he sings the duet with Gooch and Gooch says "I want to screw you" while Ted says "I want to kiss you.
Fabian Rutter (House of Anubis)
Asexual
Tumblr media
He's nerdy and into space (I know this is a stereotype but representation is scarce I take anything I can get... you get it right). Also his relationship with Nina is very innocent and I can't see him developing sexual attraction even when he becomes an adult.
Dirk Gently and Bart Curlish (Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency)
Dirk- Asexual
Bart- Aromantic
Tumblr media
Neither of them have love interests in the show (although Bart/Ken may have been implied) so this is just how I felt about the characters personally. I think Dirk definitely had a crush on Todd and is gay but I don't think he gets sexual attraction. Bart is the opposite. I can see her developing sexual attractions and feelings but being repulsed by kissing/ dating etc.
*(this is specific to DGHDA, idk about any other versions of these characters)
Anybody feel free to add thoughts and your personal aspec character hcs <3

Lesbians 🤝 Asexuals: people trying to make their identity more “palatable” by constantly bringing up that some of them can still have sex/with men.
As a greysexual lesbian it’s really annoying to see this in both of my communities. I’m not an “actual” asexual but I think people mention it too much and make it sound like “asexual” is just a little more sex-neutral greysexual. I wonder if bi lesbian truthers were inspired by this rhetoric like it happened with split attraction model
They absolutely love using the SAM to say how lesbians can be attracted to men 🙄
Both communities understand lack of attraction to men (especially if we’re talking about lesbian aro/aces or strictly aroace people) and share the feeling of isolation of having to listen to people center men in everything.

happy pride month here are my updated headcanons about the garde and co’s sexualities and genders
john: he’s a bisexual trans man and i will not be taking criticism on that. uses he/him pronouns.
five: he’s aro-spec and ace-spec but i don’t have any precise labels, also he’s agender and uses he/it pronouns (he only uses it/its with people he’s comfortable with).
six: she’s a bisexual demigirl, and uses they/she pronouns.
marina: she’s a trans lesbian and uses she/they pronouns with a preference for she/her.
eight: all shapeshifters are nonbinary and therefore they are nonbinary, more precisely genderfluid. he uses any pronouns but may prefer some on different days, and identifies as queer.
nine: he’s gay and nonbinary, and uses they/he pronouns. every pride month he paints his metal arm rainbow, and every pride month lexa yells at them for doing that.
ella: they’re nonbinary and still figuring out their sexuality, so they don’t label their sexuality and use they/them pronouns.
sam: he’s bi and greysexual, uses he/him pronouns along with many neopronouns because he thinks they’re really cool. he frequently uses his technopathy to shut down bigot’s accounts.
sarah: she’s a lesbian, and uses she/her pronouns. avid girl in red stan who owns all her music on vinyl.
adam: he’s queer and nonbinary, and uses he/they pronouns. he also identifies as genderpunk and genderqueer. he’s still very confused about human concepts of gender and sexuality, and was so clueless that malcolm had to give him the birds and the bees speech. he is now even more confused and also disgusted.
malcolm: he’s a trans man, uses he/him pronouns, and punched many cops in his youth going to gay bars. he also made his own testosterone and estrogen and sells them for 1$.

LGBT+ VIBES I GET FROM THE SUPERNATURAL CHARACTERS:
Castiel: Was a butchy, corporate straight woman named Cassandra who realized at like 40 that he’s actually actually a greysexual (or maybe just really focused on the grind) gay dude. Absolutely SLAYED the sexy corp lady look, so people (including he himself) had a hard time buying that he was actually a gay dude. Parents internally threw a fucking fit when he came out but buffered their own rage and instead opted for unhelpful words like “it’s just a phase” “we’ll love you even if you think you’re a man” and shit like that. Had to get financially independent and get his own hormones and surgery. Sometimes steps out in a sexy goth lady look (because he likes to remind himself he can still be sexy as a woman if he wants to) and makes poor Dean’s heart (and dick) explode.
Crowley: Was an extremely unconvincing pansexual ““woman”” who knew he was actually a dude since like first grade. Parents could NOT get ““her”” in a dress to save their LIFE. Moved out and lived the goth gay bear life the SECOND he turned 18. Getting T was hard because he liked to splash all his cash on fancy alcohol despite being a broke youngster.
Dean: Was the local hot butch lesbian until he realized he’s a bi dude. Didn’t even have to change his fashion sense. Was initially worried about liking men because he was afraid it would make him seem like a woman, but decided to overcome it when he saw Castiel being a sexy gay trans man. Decided to do more plastic surgery than T because he was hella picky about how he looks. Made some of his former lady lovers realize they’re bi when he transitioned into a hot guy. Still has his pretty plump girl lips and fluttery lashes 💋❤️‍🔥🥰😍
Sam: Cute, supportive cishet guy who will end up liking a guy or two and having a crisis about it, spending hours and hours researching the entire queer history of the world and all the terms to ever exist until he realizes he’s just heteroflexible. It makes all the gay guys cry in despair when they realize he’s not gay because who doesn’t want a nerdy beefy tall guy with an adorable face?
Bobby: Confused but supportive cishet dude. Dean was worried he’d be right-wing so he payed close attention to his possible political stance. Breathed a sigh of relief when he realized he’s just a Libertarian. Bobby banged a dude once when he was young, enjoyed it, but realized he still is in fact straight. Never talked about it because he’s totally chill about it and he literally forgot.
Death: Invented the gay deadly goth aura. Dracula, Hannibal Lecter, Wednesday Addams, and all the other queercoded goths who slay absolute cunt got their energy from him. Crowley got some of his energy from him. Castiel got some of it too, but his parents yelled at him for wearing “scary” clothes too many times so he decided on a more conservative, corporate style.
That cop lady (I forgot her name): Bi woman. Nothing more, nothing less.
Ellen: Everyone thinks she’s gay but she actually is, in fact, a straight lady.
Jo: Likes girls (and Dean because he’s a cutie).
Lmk if I forgot any of the major players!

Spoke to some folks on discord. Yep, I'm definitely on the asexual spectrum lmaoo. As for the aro spectrum, I feel like my asexuality influences my attitude towards attraction generally, to an extent that it's not possible to tell whether I'm allo or aro. So I identify as non-SAM ace. I'm not against the SAM. I think it's great and works for many people. But it doesn't work for me :P
This means my current label string is:
Oriented (Achillean) non-SAM greysexual transmasculine demiboy
... damn that's a mouthful

Survey results: Sexual dynamics preferences in the aromantic community
First of all, I apologize it took me so long to publish the results. Various others things came up, and there were more write in questions than I usually put in my surveys, so it took me longer to analyze.
I made this survey to find trends in the aromantic community regarding preferences when it comes to sexual relationships. A total of 816 people took part in it. As most questions weren’t mandatory, not everyone answered every question. The survey was split in three main parts: a demographics part, a personal experiences and preferences part (itself divided in three sections, one for people with previous sexual experience, one for people without, and one for people who preferred not to disclose), and a last part asking some opinions about aromanticism and sexuality.
This will be a very long post, with a lot of numbers. There will be a summary of the results at the end of the post.

18-20 - 40.8%
20-25 - 38.6%

36-40 - 2%
41-45 - 0.6% (five people)
46-50 - 0.1% (one person)
51-55 - 0.1% (one person)
Question 2: Which of the following do you most identify with?
Allosexual Aromantic - 32.2%
Aroace - 31.4%
Oriented or Angled Aroace - 11%
Non-SAM Aro or Just Aro - 10.2%
Questioning - 6.4%
I don’t identify with any of these - 5.3%
Aromid - 3.6%
Question 3: Which arospec identities do you identify with?
Aromantic - 81.3%
Arospec - 39.5%
Greyromantic - 17.8%
Quoiromantic or WTFromantic - 15.4%
Demiromantic - 13.1%
Questioning - 11%
Aroqueer - 9.3%
Aroflux - 9.1%
Cupioromantic - 6.7%
Aegoromantic - 6.4%
Lithromantic or Akoiromantic - 4%
Nebularomantic - 3.9%
Bellusromantic - 3.1%
Apothiromantic - 2.2%
Arospike - 1.7%
Reciproromantic - 1.1%
Freyromantic - 1%
Participants could also add their own orientations in an others section. Out of the commonly mentioned orientations, the most common ones were queer, fictoromantic, loveless aro, and romo aro.
Question 4: How would you describe your sexual orientation?
Queer - 43.4%
Asexual - 42.8%
Bisexual - 28.9%
Greysexual - 12.5%
Allosexual - 11.9%
Gay (man) - 10.3%
Pansexual - 10%
Other asexual spectrum identities - 8.9%
Demisexual - 8.8%
I do not label my sexual orientation - 8.6%
Questioning - 7.5%
Lesbian - 7.4%
Other mspec identities - 4.3%
Enbian or other nblnb label - 3.4%
Heterosexual - 3.4%
Polysexual - 2.7%
Toric or other nblm label - 2.6%
Trixic or other nblw label - 2.5%
Here too participants could specify other labels. Out of the ones that were submitted, the most common were aegosexual, fictosexual, abrosexual, multisexual, and omnisexual.
Question 5: Do you experience sexual attraction?
Yes - 45.1%
No - 29.7%
I don’t know - 24.3%

Question 6: What are your general feelings on sex?
Very favorable - I very much enjoy sex, or I absolutely want to try it in the future - 25.5%
Moderately favorable - I like sex, or I would like to try it in the future - 28.6%
Indifferent - I don't have strong feelings regarding sex either way - 11.8%
Moderately repulsed - I don't like sex, or I wouldn't want to try it in the future - 9.3%
Very repulsed - I very much dislike sex, or I absolutely do not want to try in the future - 4.2%
It's too complicated to be summed up in these options - 19.6%
I don't know - 1.1%
Sexual experiences
Have you ever had a sexual encounter before?
No - 49.1%
Yes - 45.8%
Prefer not to say - 5%
Before continuing, I would like to point out that the demographics of the survey very likely influenced this specific results. Regardless of any other factor at play, younger people are less likely to have had sexual encounters for no other reason than being less likely to have ended up in the right situations. For reference, if we consider the age group 25 and younger, which make up more than 3/4ths of the total participants, 40.3% said they have had past sexual encounters. If we consider the far less represented 26 and older group then we have that 67.3% had past sexual encounters.
Depending on how people answered this question, they were redirected to different subsections. I will list results for each subsection separately. Afterwards, I will make comparisons between the questions that were common to all the subsections.
Has previous sexual experience: yes
Question 1: How many sexual partners have you had in your life?
1-2 - 54.7%

I prefer committed partners - 42.3%
It makes no difference - 35.8%

Yes, to some of them - 35.4%
Yes, to all of them - 27.9%
Question 9: If you answered yes to the previous question, how did they react?
This was a write in question, and people were fairly divided on what they said.
Some people said that their partners reacted in ways that were neutral to positive. This was especially the case if their partner was also aro. Some people who were in a romantic relationship continued that relationship, or changed it somewhat but didn’t break up.Some partners didn’t know what aromanticism was, and were more or less supportive upon learning about it. Other times, partners didn’t mind the person’s aromanticism since they weren’t looking for a committed relationship in the first place.
Other people said their partners had negative reactions. Some ended up breaking up due to their aromanticism, even if at times the partner said that wasn’t the reason. Some people were told fairly hurtful and/or arophobic things by their partners, the details of which I prefer not to detail. At times people were supportive of an aromantic identity at first, but that acceptance decreased with time.
Some people also said that some of their partners reacted positively and others negatively. Including some specifically mentioning that when they had partners who were also aro, their reactions were positive, but their alloromantic partners more often reacted negatively. It’s hard to get definite numbers over write in questions, but there was about a 50/50 split between partners whose reaction was positive or confused but supportive, and partners whose reaction was negative or dismissing.
There were also cases where a partner knew of the person’s aromanticism long before they got in a relationship, so it wasn’t an issue. There were also times when a person only told their former partners after their relationship ended, so their former partner’s reaction wasn’t too relevant to their current relationship.

Yes - 52.1%
No - 27.2%

Question 8: If you answered yes to the previous question, could you elaborate?
The main reason people mentioned is that if they were alloromantic, they would have probably looked for a romantic relationship already, and that often includes sex. As they aren’t interested in dating, that decreases their chances. This is particularly relevant to people who also aren’t interested in hook ups and/or would prefer their first time to be with someone they know and trust. Friends with benefits is also not a possibility for many people, either because they don’t trust the other person not to develop feelings for them, because they are afraid of rejection if they were to ask a friend, or because they are aplatonic.
Intersection with other identities was also mentioned. For example, some afab people mentioned how society pushes them to find romantic relationships and not have casual sex, and that they feel it would be easier for them to find a sexual partner if they were a cis man.
Some people said that they have a hard time finding someone who wants to have sex with them, as many people hear aromantic and are less interested in any form of relationship. This is especially relevant to aroace people, as many people avoid seeking out sexual relationships with asexual people too. Furthermore, those aros who do want a romantic relationship are often turned down when others find out about their aromanticism.
There’s also people who are themselves not particularly interested in sex (be it because of low libido or because they are on the asexual spectrum) and don’t feel like putting in the effort to seek it out, and since they never had a relationship the matter of sex just never came up. This was particularly relevant by people who identify as non-SAM aro or non-SAM ace, or otherwise feel that their aromanticism and asexuality cannot be separated.
Someone mentioned how being repulsed to specific acts like kissing also leads to having a harder time when it comes to sex, as kissing is expected to be part of it.

Section comparisons
I have decided to do the comparisons between people who have previous sexual experience and those who do not. Since the sample size for the prefer not to say subsection was small, I have decided not to include a comparison with it.
When it comes to whether people would prefer committed or occasional partners, both groups as a whole preferred committed partners and roughly with the same percentage. More of the people who have had previous experiences say it makes no difference (35.8% vs 22%). On the other hand, more of the people who do not have previous experiences say they would prefer occasional partners (19.2% vs 13.7%) and that they would like no future sexual partner at all (15.6% vs 8.2%).
When it comes to whether people prefer closed or open relationships, more of the people with previous sexual experience say they prefer open relationships (24.3% vs 11.3%), while more of the people who don’t have previous sexual experience say they wouldn’t like either kind of relationship (15.1% vs 8.9%). As for the other percentages, they were very similar, with a small majority of people saying it doesn’t matter, and the others roughly even split between the other options.
As for the relationships people enjoy or would enjoy, comparisons get a little complicated as the people who had previous experience where asked both about what they enjoy and what they think the would enjoy in separate questions, while people who do not have previous experience where only asked what they think they would enjoy. I’ve done a bits of maths to put together the two answers for the subsection with previous experience. I calculated a total percentage for the section with previous experience over both questions, and the end results are as follows:
friends with benefits was the most liked/desired relationship in the group with previous experience (45.7%), and the second most desired in the group without previous experience (56.2%);
queerplatonic relationships were the most desired relationship in the group with no previous experience (63%), and the second most liked/desired in the group with previous experience (36.2%);
both groups had kink relationships as the third most liked/desired, although more so by the group with previous experience (32.3%) than from that with no previous experience (28.5%);
romantic relationships were the fourth most liked/desired by the group with previous experience (22.6%) and the fifth by the group with no previous experience (24.2%);
sexual partners with no other relationships was very close with romantic relationships in both groups, being fourth most wanted in the group with no previous experience (24.9%) and fifth in the group with previous experience (21.1%), with a very small distance from romantic relationships in both cases;
one night stands were the least desired relationship by both groups, with very similar percentages (19% and 17.1%).
When it comes instead to relationships that aren’t liked/desired, comparisons were easier to make, and the differences are:
one night stands are the least liked/desired in both groups (46.3% in those with previous experience, and 54% by those without experience);
romantic relationships follow in both groups with similar percentages (46% and 47.8%);
sexual partners with no other relationships is third least liked/desired again in both groups, although more disliked by those with no previous experience (41.4%), than by those who have it (37.7%);
on the other hand, kink relationships where fourth most disliked in both groups, but more so by the group without previous experience (27.5%) than by those with previous experience (17.7%);
friends with benefits were fifth least liked/wanted, disliked by 16.9% of those with previous experience and 19.5% of those without it;
lastly we have queerplatonic relationships, with very similar percentages (13% and 14.4%).
The “none of these” options was ignored in both analysis as I considered it too complex to factor it in the cumulative analysis of the relationships people like. In general, it seems the group with previous experience feels on average a little more interested in less committed relationships (one night stands, sexual partners with no other relationships) while the group without previous experience is more interested in long term relationships (queerplatonic relationships, friends with benefits). This is coherent with the comments left by people who talked about how being aromantic made it harder for them to find a sexual partner since they don’t like hook ups and would prefer a partner they are emotionally close to. Feelings regarding romantic relationships instead were very similar.
Lastly, both groups had a small majority of people who would prefer to have aromantic sexual partners, although this majority was larger in the group with no previous experience (42.4% vs 37.4%). The people with no previous experience also had a larger percentage of people who don’t desire future sexual partners (14.5% vs 7%), which apparently leads to a lower percentage of people who don’t care either way (22.8% vs 35%). In both cases, people who wanted alloromantic partners were a minority.
Personal experiences and discrimination
These last questions were in common for everyone.
Question 1: Do you think being aromantic makes looking for a sexual partner easier or harder?
Being aromantic makes it harder to look for a sexual partner - 47.2%
I don’t know - 39.5%
Being aromantic has no influence on this - 11.3%
Being aromantic makes it easier to look for a sexual partner - 2%
Question 2: Would you like to elaborate on the previous question?
Many people who believe being aromantic makes it harder to find a partner echoed similar sentiments to those people who didn’t have sexual encounters so far and believed their aromanticism is partially reason for it. Many potential partners do not understand or respect aromanticism, it’s hard to find a sexual partner who doesn’t want a romantic relationship, people who desire sex without a romantic relationship are often judged negatively, and it’s not always easy to find safe one night stands.
Some people have said being aromantic specifically makes it harder to find a long term partner, while it has no influence if you’re looking for one night stands. Other people instead said that for them being aromantic comes with a series of boundaries that are too complex to explain to a casual partner.
On the other hand, people who say being aromantic makes it easier for them to find a partner say that as they know exactly what forms of relationships they want it’s easy for them to exclude potential partners who wouldn’t respect them or their identity.
Some people have stated that since they prefer one night stands and casual partners they don’t have the risk of catching feelings for their partners, which makes it easier for them to find compatible people.
Question 3: Have you ever seen or heard someone say that wanting sex without romance is inherently sexually predatory?
Yes - 77.1%
No - 15.8%
I don’t know - 7.2%
Question 4: Have you ever seen or heard someone say that alloaros or other aros interested in sex are inherently sexually predatory?
Yes - 54.6%
No - 31.5%
I don’t know - 13.9%
Question 5: Has being aromantic influenced how you feel about your sexual attraction or desires?
Yes, being aromantic has made me view my sexual attraction/desires in a better way - 32%
I don’t know - 30%
No - 23.5%
Yes, being aromantic has made me view my sexual attraction/desires in a worse way - 14.5%
Question 5: If you picked one of the yes options in the previous question, would you like to elaborate?
Out of those who said being aromantic makes them view their desires in a better way, many says that knowing they are aromantic has made them more confident in themselves and what they want. Some also said that being aromantic has made them self-analyze far more than what they feel is average, giving them a better understanding of their feelings. Some people said that it’s easier for them to understand their sexual attraction and desires now that they don’t try to connect it to romance.
Various people said that being aromantic has helped them get over certain kinds of stigma against sex in general, non-romantic sex, or kinky sex in particular. They have also said that they now see better how sex can be a wonderful way to connect emotionally with people, without necessarily dragging romance into it.
Some people in particular were ashamed or disturbed by the way they felt before knowing they were aromantic, thinking that they were predatory or broken for experiencing sexual attraction without accompanying romantic attraction. They now don’t feel that shame anymore, as they know it’s a normal experience to have.
There’s many aroace people who believe that being aromantic made them see their sexuality better. On one hand, aroace people who also interested in sex say being aromantic has made them better accept the fact that they can want sex without feeling attraction. On the other, those who are less interested in sex say being aromantic has also helped them accept the fact that it’s alright not to want sex or to not have had sex yet by a certain age. Some aroace people said that they are relived to be both aromantic and asexual because they think trying to navigate a romantic relationship while asexual would be too complicated.
Out of the people who instead find their aromanticism makes them view their sexual desires and attraction in a worse way, various people cited how wanting sex without romance is stigmatized in society. Some people feel in general guilty about having sexual thoughts, worrying that the other people may see them as predatory for them.
A lot of people expressing these feelings mentioned how it intersected with their other queer/LGBTQ+ identities, saying that there’s a lot of pressure to be pure lately when you belong to this community. There were in particular various sapphic people who struggle with feeling sexual attraction to women without romance, and bisexual people who worried that being alloaro makes them play into the promiscuous bisexual stereotype. There were also multiple transmasculine people, both exclusively attracted to men and exclusively attracted to women, who struggle with feeling predatory due to their lack of romantic attraction (note: I say transmasculine because all people who left these comments specified being transmasculine, I don’t have data on transfeminine and transneutral people’s feelings).
Some people also talked about how the intersection between being arospec and POC gives them particular struggles due to how racism influences the way POC’s sexuality is seen.
Also, some people connected their negative feelings to the issues discussed above, where being aromantic makes it harder to find a sexual partner. They think that if they weren’t aromantic they may be able to find partners more easily.
Additional comments
There were various points in the survey where people could leave additional comments.
Some people said that being aromantic played a role in past break ups, or that they prefer not to share their aromanticism with their current partners for fear of causing issues in their relationships.
A few people mentioned that they feel their aromanticism takes precedence over their other identities. On the other hand, some people found that some of their other identities or past experiences have a bigger influence on the matters discussed in the survey than their aromanticism.
Many people talked about how sex is a complicated matter for them, in that they enjoy it in theory, but they don’t know if they would actually want it in real life or they don’t know if their fantasies are what they actually want or just what they enjoy in fiction.
Some said that they aren’t actively looking for sex, but wouldn’t mind doing it if someone offered in the right circumstances. In alternative, some said they may be open to attempting sex, but aren’t interested in making it a regular thing. Some also said they prefer to deal with their sexual urges on their own, while looking for a sexual partner would be more of a bother.
A couple people mentioned that they would be interested in non-sexual kink more than sex itself. Also, some people said that in the past they have found the kink community particularly friendly to aromantic people.
Conclusions
The survey participants tended to skew young (group 25 years and younger > 75%), with a higher percentage of aroallo people compared to other surveys on the aromantic community. Most identified with queer, asexual or acespec, and other LGBTQ+/queer identities, with heterosexual people being a minority. The majority of people who participated was either some degree of sex favorable, or didn’t think terms such as favorable/neutral/repulsed were enough to describe their feelings about sex. About half had not had a sexual encounter before, while a little less than half said they had at least one in the past.
For both groups, people tend to want or prefer committed sexual partners more than casual partners. Both groups also had a majority of people who prefer open relationships or don’t care about whether they are in an open or closed relationship. The most desired and least disliked relationships by both groups are queerplatonic relationships, friends with benefits, and kink based relationships. One night stands were both the least wanted and most disliked type of relationship by both groups. Sexual partners with no other relationships was also less popular than some other relationships. For both groups, less than a fourth of participants said they wanted a romantic relationship, and nearly half said they instead dislike them. The group with previous sexual experience seems moderately more favorable to less committed relationships.
There is also a general tendency of aromantic people to prefer aromantic sexual partners. Half of the people who do not have previous sexual experience said that their aromanticism is part of the reason they haven’t had sexual encounters so far, due to their aromanticism making it harder to find non-romantic partners for them. When it comes to people who do have previous sexual experience, out of the people who shared their aromanticism with previous partners, there was about a 50/50 split between people who said their partners were supportive and those who said their partners reacted badly.
In general, about half the people who participated said that finding a sexual partner while aromantic is harder, mainly because a lot of alloromantic people aren’t interested in non-romantic sexual partnership. More than 75% heard that people who want sex without romance are sexually predatory, and more than 50% hard that aromantic people who want sex in particular are sexually predatory.
About one third of participants said being aromantic makes them view their sexual desires in a better way. This includes both people who experience sexual attraction and aroace people, with many saying they feel more confident about their attraction/desires or lack thereof. About 15% on the other hand said their aromanticism makes them view their sexual desires in a worse way, usually due to shame or feeling predatory. This is particularly common between people who are otherwise members of the queer/LGBTQ+ community, and among people of color.

Note
For the ask game: how about 1-10? Love your blog! <3
answered here
How would you describe your identity? I would describe it as like. Quoiromantic aroace loveless aro because I don't relate to love in the romantic way at all, so in that way I feel loveless, though I do relate to love in other ways
Do you use aro-spec microlabels? Yep! I generally only identify as aro but i also use quoiromantic and cupioromanticflux
Are you romance favorable, neutral, or repulsed? It changes based on the mood I'm in, usually romance-neutral most of the time but romance-repulsed when im in a really bad mood or I see romance on TV or smth, but romance-favorable when I interact with romantic content that involves characters I'm personally attached to
What kinds of attraction do you feel? [platonic, queerplatonic, aesthetic, alterous, etc.] Hmm, I'm not really sure, I'm pretty sure I feel aesthetic, alterous, queerplatonic, and platonic sometimes, sexual sometimes, but never romantic.
Do you feel tertiary attraction? If so, what kind? Yea sometimes, generally I can never tell what kind of attraction I'm feeling but I'd say some kind of queerplatonic attraction is most common!
Do you use the SAM? [split attraction model] Yep! I id as aroace, omniaspec, and pan and omni!
Are you also acespec? Do you use the term aspec? Yep I'm also acespec, and I do use aspec for myself! I say I'm aroace, but I'm greysexual so I also say I'm arograce
What made you realise you were aspec / arospec? Oh, a lot of things- I never felt crushes anymore, romance confused me, love songs and the concept of it made me just feel kinda gross and i've never ever understood breakups or why they were made out to be some huge deal, and I just realized when I think of romance and romantic attraction, thinking of it makes me feel nothing and I simply feel no connection to romance so that's what made me realize :3
What would you rather do instead of a romantic relationship? Literally anything lmao, but like in terms of something in place of a romantic relationship, I would much rather adopt and raise kids with my best friend or just raise kids on my own :3

Metal Gear LGBTQ Headcanons: Updated
OK so I made one of these when I just got back into MGS after several years away from it. It wasn't very well written though as I did most of it at like 3am and falling asleep, but also I hadn't fully reacquainted myself with everyone yet. So, here's a new and improved LGBTQ headcanons post! (with a lot of canon influence tbf)
This heavily focuses on sexuality over gender because to be honest my gender headcanons for many characters fluctuates so often that it would be redundant to put them all down as "variable based on the whims of Armel's genderfluid ass". Basically though quite a lot of characters can be transgender when I feel like it, or remain their AGAB (or at least aligned with such) when I feel like it. Anyone who I have a more solid (heh) gender headcanon for will get mentioned, but if it's not just assume I could see them as either cis or trans depending on my mood at that moment.
Characters are listed by the game they debuted in (release order), then alphabetically. Also it's under the cut bc it gets LONG
side note: wow this series is bisexual af and so am i
Metal Gear 1
Big Boss is bisexual. He's also polyamorous.
Fox is bisexual.
Snake is bisexual with a preference for men, as well as agender/demiboy (any pronouns). Also headcanon him as trans (i.e. AFAB) more often than not. To elobarate: he doesn't really identify with gender as a concept, it's just never been that important to him. He likes having a masculine body, but otherwise is completely indifferent to things like clothing, gender roles, and pronouns.
Metal Gear 2
Campbell is cishet.
Kaz Miller is bisexual and polyamorous.
Metal Gear Solid
Liquid is gay.
Mantis is asexual, demiromantic, queerplatonic, and agender (they preferred, he accepted). AGAB varies.
Mei Ling is bisexual and AFAB demigirl (she/they).
Meryl is biromantic, greysexual, and cis.
Ocelot is gay. Home of sexual. Whopping huge fruity man. The fact that some people insist he's not is hilarious to me, because even in a series absolutely full of queer coding he really stands out. He is not straight/bi/pan and I will die on this hill. Also he's not polyamorous by default, but he'll make an exception for BB+Kaz.
Otacon is bisexual. I lean heavily towards cis for him too, but not always.
Raven is the token cishet of FOXHOUND.
Wolf is bisexual.
Sons of Liberty
Emma is cishet.
Fortune is queer.
Olga is bisexual and a demigirl (she/her).
Raiden is transmasculine, non-binary, and bisexual with a preference for women (he/they). If you're wondering how he got Rose pregnant, this is a series that features advanced medical/scientific methods, genetic engineering and asexual reproduction. [EVA voice] Figure it out~
Solidus is gay and cisgender, though in the public eye he's straight (America wasn't/isn't ready for an out gay president hfghf;dg)
Vamp is bisexual, obviously.
Snake Eater
EVA is bisexual and cis.
Paramedic is cishet.
Raikov is gay.
Sigint is cishet.
The Boss is bisexual and cisgender.
The Sorrow is cishet.
Volgin is bisexual and cis.
Zero is ace-spec, biromantic and cis.
Guns of the Patriots
Sunny is too young for me to comfortably headcanon as she is, but I imagine her growing up to be some form of m-spec like her dads. Probably pan tbh.
Peace Walker
Amanda is a butch lesbian.
Cecile is bisexual, cisgender, and polyamorous.
H*ey is cishet (derogatory).
Paz is bisexual, but very closeted/in denial. Also cis.
Strangelove is lesbian. She is not bisexual in my eyes; she canonically only married H*ey so he could be a sperm donor for her and The Boss's genius child.
Metal Gear Rising
(I'm not as familiar w MGR's lore as the main series so these are based on vibes more than actual character analysis, be forewarned)
Armstrong is cishet.
Courtney is bisexual and cis.
Mistral is a lesbian.
Monsoon is gay.
Sam is pansexual and nonbinary (he/they).
Sundowner is cishet.
The Phantom Pain (+GZ)
Skull Face is cishet.
Quiet is bi with a preference for women, as well as asexual and genderqueer (she/they). Or, as I said in my original LGBT headcanons post: she's straight for Venom and Venom only.
Venom Snake is demisexual and biromantic. Also headcanon him as trans (FTM) more often than not tbh.
Finally, you have reached the end! As a reward here are my main MGS ships just so you can see how some of these headcanons play out.
BONUS: My Main MGS Ships
Otasune
Bosselhira polycule :3 (also Bosselot/BBKaz/Ocelhira)
Liquidmantis QPR
VKaz (+MKaz but they never acted on it at the time)
Strangeboss
Boss/Sorrow
Meryl/Mei Ling
Raiden/Rose

Headcanons: bachelors, general
Okayyyy my peeps this is just gonna be a few headcanons for each of ‘em as this is my first ‘official’ one.
Just doing the bachelors here. I’ll do bachelorettes soon.
For sexualities, I didn’t make anyone outright gay/straight b/c they’re all canonically multi-sexual (I think that’s the right term?) and I didn’t want to ruin some girl’s chance at Sam or somethin’. So here ya go:
Sam: trans boy, he/him. Homoflexible. 19 years old at the beginning, making him the youngest bachelor. He prefers someone who likes the same interests as him, and likely someone who has a lot of band-aids because… skateboarding doesn’t always go perfectly, let’s leave it at that.
Shane: demimale, they/he. demisexual, no preference in gender. 33 years old at the beginning, as he’s one of the ‘older bachelors.’ They don’t care about anything about you, just that you’ll always be there for him. (p.s. don’t buy them beer. Sparkling water? Sure. Jojacola? Maybe. No alcohol. Make your farm an alcohol-free place if you marry him, will ya? Or at least keep all your drinks in places they won’t go…)
Elliot: cis male, he/him. Greysexual omniromantic with a preference towards androgynous people. 31 years old at the beginning, giving him many years to perfect the art of writing. He obviously loves fellow authors, but anyone will really do in his book!
Alex: intersex trans male, he/ve. Androsexual, ve doesn’t care about gender, as long as you seem ‘masculine.’ Twenty-one at the beginning, but acts like a teenager a lot. He wants someone who’s strong and can carry him when he’s feeling sad, because it does happen.
Harvey: cis male, he/him. Heteroflexible, he’s never actually felt attraction to a male but when that farmer moved in… wow. Thirty-five at the beginning, the oldest bachelor. Looking for someone braver than himself, but honestly I think Harvey’s the most flexible in choosing a partner.
Sebastian: non-binary, they/he. asexual demiromantic, it takes a LOT to form an attachment with this guy. Twenty-two when you first begin. He wants someone who won’t be bothered by his silence, definitely needs another introvert what with his family situation.
What’re your headcanons?

Michelle, Marvel, & Pride 25
Link to questions.
What sort of pride apparel do you think the characters would wear/have, if any?
Joey Gutierrez: He has a wristband he wears often enough, and for pride month he wears a bit more stuff. He wears things like backpacks with rainbow straps and a shirt with the gay flag (holy heck I just realized his sexuality is never confirmed as solely gay. He could be bi or something, but I'm pretty sure he is gay).
Peggy Carter: I don't know enough about queer history. She would have something subtle from her time period. Very subtle. This is a time where it was illegal for homosexuals to have federal jobs, such as director of S.H.I.E.L.D. But more recently, I like to think Sharon gave her a little bookmark or something colored like the bisexual flag.
Valkyrie: If she was on Earth, I think she would look really nice with thread braided into her hair to make a bisexual flag. It would look super pretty.
Ayo: Again, I don't know how pride is celebrated in Wakanda, but if there is anything, that's what she would do. I get the vibes from her that she'd like have rainbows on social media or something though.
Loki Laufeyson: He would have some clothes in the colors of the greyromantic, pansexual, and asexual flags, but not straight out the flags. And he'd have a couple of easy to hide apparel, things like this.
Tumblr media
Also, I like to imagine Scott doing a card trick in front of him, joking that he can do magic too. Loki is interested (because he's being nice) and he finds it funny that Scott insists on showing him a bunch of ace cards. So Scott starts jokingly buying him stuff with aces of spades, and Loki is down because that is ace as heck.
Bucky Barnes: He has lots of shirts, flags, and all sorts of stuff. I like to think he has rainbow laces he wears with his shoes. He has lots of things that, even if they aren't explicitly queer, give him vibes. Things like the purple lava lamp he found on clearance and a red, purple, and teal tie dye shirt he found at a thrift shop. They aren't mean to be greysexual or bisexual, but they give off the vibes.
Wanda Maximoff: She'd have things with all the flags that apply to her. Those being abrosexual, bisexual, pansexual, aromantic, and asexual. On days where she's aroace, she'll wear her aroace stuff. Pan stuff on pan days. You get the point. And she wears her abrosexual stuff all of the time. She has things like rings, denim jacket with the flags ironed on, maybe shoes kind of like these.
Tumblr media
Lance Hunter: He has a watch with a bisexual flag band that he wears a lot. And he likes to throw in bi stuff or rainbow stuff wherever he can. Things like the soles of his shoes being rainbow or his jacket being lined with bi colors.
Daisy Johnson: She does her make up in bi and demi colors, but that's mainly during pride month. Normally, she has a bracelet like the one I had pictured with Loki. She has a T-shirt that says something like "Inhuman, Queer, & Proud" she got because there are starting to be queer inhuman groups.
Jemma Simmons: She'll dress in pink, purple, and blue as a subtle bi flag. In June, Daisy does her make up sometimes. Jemma has cute little decorations she'll have, like a cup in bi colors to hold pencils or her phone's wallpaper as a cool pink to blue ombre with stars or something. Her and Fitz have matching bi wristbands someone got them as a wedding gift.
Leopold Fitz: He has the bi wristband same as Jemma. Other than that? I don't see him being the type of person to do all sorts of flag or pride or whatever stuff. He's heteroromantic bisexual, that's all. Part of it is that he doesn't want to be given crap for being varioriented ("you can f*ck a guy but not fall in love" sort of bs), but even if he was biromantic and bisexual, it's just not really his thing, so have a bunch of random colorful things shouting to the world that he's queer when he prefers to keep this very, very private.
Steve Rogers: Steve has bi and rainbow gear, but it's not something he normally wears. More of a pride thing.
Carol Danvers: She changes her suit to the lesbian flag for pride month! Outside of that, she seems like a person to wear lesbian flag socks. Which is totally random and idk if those even exist, but I get the vibes.
Peter Parker: MJ bought him some bi pins that he has saved in his room. He has some general mspec ones he wears around, that make him look supportive of hims omnisexual girlfriend, and he also can be secretly proud of his bisexuality. He also has an mspec solidarity shirt he only wears at home, with MJ, with Ned, or with Tony. It has bisexual, pansexual, polysexual, omnisexual, abrosexual, and other flags and has some phrase about them all being friendly.
MJ Watson: She'd wear lots of omnisexual and mspec pins. Omni for her, and mspec for her and Peter. She'd have a pair of black doc martens that she doesn't wear often but have rainbow laces. She also has a plaid shirt with the omnisexual colors.
Tess: Again, sad day, she doesn't really have anything for pride.
Sam Wilson: Most of his stuff is rainbow things. He was pretty certain he was queer but didn't know in what way, so he only got rainbow stuff for a long time. And he isn't in a spot where he's comfortable to come out as aromantic, so he just says he's queer. But he has an aro flag on the boat, and a tiny little aro flag magnet he keeps on the wings.
Mantis: Gamora gave her a bunch of whatever the galaxy terms to be ace stuff.
Nebula: Someone on Earth would buy her this shirt as a joke.
Tumblr media
And the tank top, and the mug, and the short sleeved shirt, and the 3 quarters sleeved shirt, and the hoodie, and anything they can find with this.
That same person also gets a million things (this time including a bumper sticker they put on her ship) with this design or similar.
Tumblr media
Vision: Dude can literally make his own clothes pop out of nowhere. He makes himself a non-binary cape sometimes. He also has a couple of enby gifts from Wanda

No 13: Do you know any facts about aro history? & No 14:What piece of media that you like has a canon aro-spec character?
ask me aro things
13: unfortunately no. but i just found an interesting blog post about it!!
https://www.aromanticism.org/en/news-feed/aromantic-history
14: i literally cannot think of a single canon aro-spec character in media. i went to look some up and the only ones i found were from things i’ve never consumed, so i’m gonna give you some aro headcanons instead (my favorite aro hcs are allosexual because that’s how i am, sue me. aro/ace rights tho)
Geralt of Rivia- the witcher  bisexual/aromantic I love Geralt and his relationship to relationships. he’s definitely allosexual, but he doesn’t seem to have any drive to settle down. in the netflix show he literally has negative interest toward romantic relationships (until yennifer :/ ) i’m not mad about geralt and yennifer’s relationship, but it does feel a little ooc for both of them sometimes
Ed Nygma- Gotham bisexual/greyromantic this is cause i read a really good fanfiction about Ed being aromantic and it helped me realize that i was too. but apart from that, Ed being arospec makes sense to me because while he wants a partner in order to feel normal, he doesn’t seem to really care about the relationship itself. nygmobblepot makes just as much sense as a QPR as it does a romantic relationship, and i think that’s neat
Aziraphale- Good Omens greysexual/arospec this could be argued to be canon but as it isn’t discussed textually i count this as a headcanon. i think aziraphale is aromantic because he seems perfectly happy living a life in solitude in his bookshop. he loves crowley, yes, but that doesn’t come with a desire for romance (especially compared to crowley). i also headcanon crowley as pansexual/arospec. maybe it’s just a celestial thing?
Dean Winchester-SPN bisexual/demiromantic Ok listen i know what you’re thinking but i have reasoning-
dean is really bad at maintaining romantic relationships, even when he loves the person he’s with
while dean wants domesticity, that isn’t attached to the ideal of romance
dean enjoys sex but generally has one night stands (demon dean especially, i could write a whole essay on that)
when sam is in relationships dean isn’t shown to be jealous or give him advice regarding wooing women. you could argue he wants his own chance at romance in season 15, but i think it has more to do with the ideal of breaking free from chuck’s narrative and living a life other than hunting.
re: cas, i think dean started out sexually attracted to him but fell into romantic love at the end of season six, didn’t realize it until season eight (at least) and didn’t do anything about it until season eleven. also i headcanon cas as pansexual/romantic.
