Some pictures I took of Max’s tape! Sorry about the quality, I was taking them with my phone.
Also, as I expected, I cried a little during Max’s final words. Very sad, idk why he always makes me tear up when the others don’t.
Also there’s a note to Max from Bob the Security Guard that’s telling him to quit smoking near the quarry, even in hard to reach places, or smt like that. Furthering my theory that Max is a tall skinny dude who hates instructions. My man.
Also also, Desmond seems a little more aggressive in his dialogue in this tape, just a bit. And so grows my headcannon that bro can feel the Shadows and his patient’s emotions while in their tapes.
And I have another headcannon that spawns from another headcannon that I added onto with another one of my own headcannons to make an amalgamation that will destroy my brain and turn me into a puddle of headcannon juice. Ahhh, life is so beautiful.

2024 Media Rankings: Video Game Edition
Ranking Every Media I was into in 2024, the video game list is fairly short and contains both ones I played myself as well as ones I watched playthroughs for. As with the other lists the rankings will not be based on quality but subjective taste.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
#11 - Firewatch - Firewatch was a very short and beautiful game that my friends convinced me to watch the Markeplier playthrough for. I don't have any strong feelings about it one way or anther though I do respect it - the visuals were very pretty and atmospheric, the themes of isolation and running away from your problems were well executed given the short run time, and the mystery resolved an interesting way. The games more of a vibe than anything, it's very melancholic and I think succeeds at what it wants to do very well. I can't critique the game play of a game I didn't play myself and don't really have any story critiques, so my more neutral feelings toward it is just because very short bittersweet media with characters who are written solely to aid the thematic narrative rather than be entertaining in their own right is just not the type of media I get obsessed over, even if I do recognize it's value. It's well constructed and I'm glad I watched it but I doubt I will think about it 10 years from now.
#10 - Pokemon Legends Arceus - Low on this list as I barely played it this year, it would've topped 2023s list for being the most fun and creative Pokemon experience I've had in a long time, even with all its graphical flaws. I love the character designs for the game and have still had some fun engaging in fan works for them, though the brainrot is gone for now.
#9 - Mouthwashing - I can't really say I understand why this one sitting indie horror game took off the way it did, but I did like it. While low res overall, the visuals had a good color pallet and an interesting setting. I don't feel like going into depth on something that has 1000 video essays on it already, but the themes of toxic masculinity, social responsibility, and hyper-capitalism were creatively executed especially given the short run time. I wasn't crazy about the characters the same way a lot of people were but they serve the plot well and all have some interesting dialogue. There were a lot of memorable moments as well, and some good body horror. My only real critique is feeling like Anya got the least amount of time to be viewed as an actual character outside of her centrality to the plot, which may have been intentional but was still a little disappointing. Overall very solid little story though, worth a watch if you don't mind the triggering content.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
#8 - Hatoful Boyfriend - Uh so this game is insane. It sells itself on being a goofy dating sim where the player is the only human in a world of intelligent eligible birds, and it is that, but it's also so much more in a way that has you continually pausing to stare in open mouth shock at the screen. I don't want to go into spoilers here as experiencing in real time the unpredictable chaos of the plot is half the fun, but just trust me that it's worth seeing all the routes and true ending and the DLCs if possible - It will never stop surprising you. I'll give it credit too that unlike something like Riverdale which has a similar level of continually escalating insanity, Hatoful Boyfriend is actually cleverly written with the full story in mind from the get go, meaning the slow descent into madness with the occasional concerning comments being expertly escalated into a bombastically insane true ending. It can be surprisingly touching at times but primarily it's just very witty and fun, it's definitely one that's fun to experience in a group but it's worth it in any setting. If you don't want to play it yourself I recommend the youtube channel JelloPlaysGames which has a fully voice acted playthrough of the whole thing - It's certainly an unforgettable experience.
#7 - Persona 5 Royal - Another game I played a lot of in 2023 but not much in 2024. I'm ranking it here as I do still love the characters, design aesthetic, music, and gameplay, but given how little I played it or looked up fan stuff for it this year I can't rank it any higher. Probably would have been 2023's game of the year though, I still have the soundtrack on loop.
#6 - Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door - PMtTYD is the best paper mario game and perhaps the best Mario game in general, so I was as thrilled as everyone else when it got a switch release. It was a good port too - the visuals were already great since they were stylized in the charming craft aesthetic that stands the test of time, but the port added a little flair and updated the again already great music a bit - It's definitely a visual and musical treat. Admittedly though I only played about half of it before getting distracted by other things - It's great but it's pretty long and I have played through the story before in recent memory, so my enthusiasm died down after a bit of time. Still I want to give the game it's flowers - the humor is great, the characters are great, it has an interesting story, the mechanics are fun if a bit simplistic, and it oozes charm out of every corner. If you've never played it I definitely recommend it, as usual with nintendo games the settings are easily adjusted for a leisurely playthrough for non gamers or a slightly challenging though still relaxed playthrough for those who like that sort of thing, so most people will be able to enjoy it fine. If you have played it then I don't have to tell you how good it is, if you liked it before you'll like it again though it is more or less just the same game so up to you if you want to play the slightly more HD version.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
#5 - Pathologic - Love Pathologic, one of my favorite games, have never played it and would absolutely hate to. Like some of the other things on this list this is purely here for affections sake alone, I didn't engage with this one too much this year outside of vicariously living through my friends experience and watching the occasional analysis video, with 2022 being the actual year in which I was thoroughly obsessed with it. Still I love the complicated characters, the off putting setting and music, the increasingly frantic plot pairing with the punishing game play, the contrasting endings that perfectly match each protagonist, the heavy philosophical dialogue and themes of progress and idealism coming up against exploitation, class warfare, and the erasure of minority culture, and the oddly charming yet disturbing theatrical nature of it all. Who knows, maybe when Pathologic 3 comes out, I'll even play it myself (lying).
#4 - Cult of the Lamb - Very cute and likable game about forming a cult worshiping the god of Death and either assimilating or decimating the local population. The plot is predictable but interesting and while some of the animal designs don't wear the front face but side nose look very well the main character and major NPCs all have nice designs that incorporate some fun interpret-able lore. The gameplay has two halves - the compound building part where you collect Cultists and direct them to farm, build, clean ect and build up a little community animal crossing style, then the dungeon crawling half where you go through randomized rooms killing all manner of cultists, creatures, and gods for materials and story progress. Neither half is difficult and both are enjoyable in their own right, though the dungeon crawling section is a little wonky on the switch and has a lack of variety that gets tedious after awhile. The variety of options you have in the former half of the game is fun though, your cult members have their own little personalities and you are able to dress them up, pair them together, sacrifice them, resurrect them, and send them on little quests which is quite fun. The base game is short but worth it with fun visuals, dialogue, and gameplay, though admittedly I have not played the majority of the quite extensive post game, as the lack of combat variety wore me out.
#3 - In Stars and Time - In terms of pure narrative and character ISAT was my top game for sure this year - every character is complex and endearing with really fun and memorable exchanges with each other and the plot is tightly written with a good sense of dread and escalation and some really interesting concepts. Unraveling the mystery of what's going on with the world and characters is half the fun so I won't spoil too much here, but the basic premise is that you play as the final rouge party member as they alone become trapped in a time loop of the day the party challenges the final boss. The fighting mechanic is pretty simple with a literal rock paper scissor based system where each party member has access to 1 or more type of ability that can be super affective or weak against the funny little creature enemies you fight with quick turn based combat that has buffs and heals and the like as well. It's satisfying enough but mainly exists to aid the narrative and put the player in a similar headspace to the player character Siffrin as you grind through the same motions only to have all progress reset the next day. I opened with the game's strengths but I really want to emphasize how good the character writing it here: All 5 party members are really endearing, well written, unique, and wonderfully designed characters whose dialogue swaps between being some of the funniest multi-person exchanges you'll see to incredibly emotionally resonant conversations that will warm your heart and/or hit you right where it hurts. In general the game looks quite nice, sporting a black and white color palette and cutesy but very emotive and occasionally intense art style that works really well for those emotional gut punches I mentioned earlier. The mystery element is done really well with it having just the right mix of letting you come to your own conclusions (with many clues hidden throughout the game to find) and revealing major twists/beats when needed, with some of the implications being pretty messed up in a 'oh that's a col concept' way. Also shout out for its racial, sexual, and gender diversity, not only is most of the cast queer and/or none white, the in game society is based around the concept of Change and experimentation, making for a setting with refreshingly progressive gender and sexuality politics. A personal favorite in that respect was Mirabelle, a refreshingly non-stereotypical character who's a cheery romance loving fashionable little lady who has some really great dialogue about her experience as an aroace person, which as a fellow aroace I really vibe with. I can't really go into more without digging into things that shouldn't be spoiled, but I 100% recommended this, it's really heartfelt, memorable, unique, funny, and tightly written.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
#2 - Pokemon Infinite Fusion - Fusing pokemon together has been a fun design exercise for Pokemon fanartists for years, so I guess it's not surprising that a game would eventually be made on that concept. While the plot is mostly a straightforward adaptation of Pokemon Red and Blue (with Johto being present as well), I was really impressed by every other aspect of this game - It's insane that a free fangame has this level of creativity and effort. The sprite art is beautiful with literally 200,000+ different fusion combinations which range from badass to adorable to stupid pop culture references and memes to cursed to insanely creative. Most of the normal sprites have original art too, I've honestly spent just as much time just admiring the fusion art on the website (X) as I have playing the game. Building your team is fun, as is seeing the odd and interestingly typed fusions that the NPCs have, it's not a hard game by any means but they do sometimes throw surprises and puzzles at you that you have to work for. The game also introduces a sidequest feature which involves more RGP like quests of finding specific Pokemon, cooking, racing within a time limit, ect which adds to the otherwise straightforward gameplay. The writing and dialogue has been improved as well, there's lots of clever and funny little lines that make talking to NPCs worth it. If you don't like the Pokemon formula I don't think this is different enough to make you a fan, but if you do like pokemon this is by far the best experience I've had with it since Heart Gold, it's an incredible passion project for sure. I'd love to do a nuzlocke in the future someday, I can only imagine the wonders and horror it could bring.
#1 - Genshin Impact- Looking at this list you'd think I didn't spend a lot of time playing video games in 2024. I wish that was the case, but honestly I spent just as much if not more time gaming, it's just that 90% of that time went solely into infamous gatcha game Genshin Impact. I mainly blame my best friend for this - she became hooked on it this year and inspired me to pick up my previously abandoned account so that we could spend the rest of 2024 playing co-op, discussing story beats and theories, admiring and bullying the characters, and in general just giving me a topic and opportunity to regularly talk to and spend time with one of my favorite people. Real human connection is worth more than even my favorite media experiences so that alone would endear me enough to the game to rank it number #1, but to be fair I do think it's a pretty good game on it's own merits.
To get the negatives out of the way first - It is at it's core a transactional gatcha game, and in that sense it's no less predatory than any the the others. It's great that it's free and I'm sure plenty of people, including myself, have a great time with it without spending a cent, but the multiple weirdly exchangeable in game currency intentionally designed to obscure the prices, limited time exclusive characters, unreasonably expensive alternate skins, and constant time=money log in incentives are all designed to make those with addictive personalities pour an irresponsible amount of money into the game, which isn't cool. The story gets better as it goes but is starts very basic with the first few arcs being fairly standard JRPG stuff, with some of the arcs and quests containing really odd and inconsistent writing. While the character voice-lines and occasional main quest dialogue can often be pretty fun, as a whole the game has some of the worst flavor text I've ever seen, it's insane the sheer amount of unnecessary and boring text even minor quests have. It's also strange how little they have the relevant characters interact with eachother and instead solely interact with boringly designed and written NPCs - I know gatcha games work a by endearing the playable characters to the player insert but it's not surprising that people's favorites are mostly the characters who DO have multiple interesting dynamics with other characters - that's what makes you like them. On the gameplay side it can also have weird and uneven difficulty spikes, power creep for the newer vs older characters, occasional glitches, and some sturdy enemies that are just not fun to fight. Co-op is also something that could really be expanded on, as much as I do it there's not a lot of in game stuff to do other than farming for the absurd amount of level up materials your characters need. There's been a lot of limited time events featuring more unique co-op games like tetris, ball games, marketing, hide and seek, guitar hero and the like, so it would be nice if those could be more permanent features to play with your friends.
All that being said, the game succeeds at a lot too. Sale tactics aside it is entirely free, and gives you a generous amount of in game rewards through exploring, doing quests and stories, constantly running exclusive events, log in rewards, and weekly resets of the battle tower like spiral abyss, so even if you just play normally you'll get plenty of opportunities to save for characters you want and have a usable and fun account. I've been surprisingly lucky with my pulls, and have managed to get all 7 of the 5 stars I've actively tried for within a little less than 2 years of free play. I actually don't hate the gatcha system as a feature either - the game gives you enough characters you'd actually need to move through the story for free, so it can be kinda fun to test your luck and be surprised by the character or weapon you get, leading you to use characters and combinations you may otherwise wouldn't have. The battle mechanics are pretty fun as well, giving you 4 team slots to put in characters who will control 1 of 7 elements, each of which has a unique reaction when paired together - plants and fire will give enemies a burning status effect, water and ice will freeze them, electric and fire explodes in increased damage, ect ect. Building teams and battle strategies around the elemental reactions can be quite fun, and while it took a little while to get used to the quick swap mechanic of only having 1 character on field at once before quickly swapping to the next, once you do get used to it the control feels really nice. Individual characters all have their own abilities which can make gameplay more fun and interesting as well, so the game doesn't get too repetitive as long as you switch up teams every so often. While not mind blowing the visuals are quite nice, the world is really big with a lot of unique and pretty locations that feel fun to explore, especially given how often it rewards you for doing so with the insane amount of treasures, quests, and neat little surprises it packs into it. You're not likely to get bored is what I'm saying.
I have complaints with the limited body types and lack of racial diversity among the playable characters, but outside of that I do like quite a few of the designs and characters - especially in later arcs and events where both new and old characters are given a well written story to engage in and likable dynamics with each other. Again the voicelines for the playable characters tend to be the best written parts and are pretty funny and endearing at times. It's a large cast and honestly some of the characters are pretty archetypal, but others earn their blorbo status in being very interesting in their own right, so it's nice that there's so many events and quests that allow characters to feature outside of their spot in the main story. Also while I complain about the some features not being permanent, it is nice how often the game experiments with different types of game play, features (like a decoratable house and fishing mechanic), region specific puzzles, and story genres and the like, again there's a lot of variety to keep you from getting bored. The music and majority of the voice cast are pretty great as well. There's hints of a more interesting story underneath as well, we will occasionally get neat lore drops and foreshadowing that makes you go oooohhh which is fun if you like to theorize. More than anything it's just a fun game to play and talk about which has brought my bestie and I a lot of joy in a pretty freaking rough year. Be aware of predatory gambling practices but if you trust yourself to play casually and not get pulled in to spending past your means I honestly recommend it, you'll have a good time.

ok my brain has picked cora to brainrot on. cora ramble under cut
she and stephan are both in their early-mid 20s, im thinking either 23 or 24. her brother jr is 9 years younger than she is
her mom died frm medical issues when she was really young (like 5 or so) and jrs mom wasnt ever really around so her dad basically raised both of them on his own
she realized she was gay frm a young age (around 11 or 12) and after not really thinking it through and outing herself to people at her school she was treated pretty iffy by a lot of the girls there, which sorta spurred the confidence issues she has nowadays. shes more comfortable around guys bc guys were always more comfortable around her yknow. she also would never directly mention anything abt being a lesbian to the player. she doesnt exactly Need to but yk what i mean
she and stephan sorta bonded at first over the fact tht theyre both kinda cringe fail around women and frm there both just got closer as friends as time went on
probably demisexual but isnt big up on labels or anything
she has little to no future plans but not really in a lost or depressed way more just in a "im just trying to get to my next paycheck" kinda way
she and exie probably know each other through jackson and have probably hung out before, though exie's personality would be a little too much for her (also risking her accidentally unplugging exie or smth if she were to eat shit is not worth the trouble)
she likes a lot of casual/farming sim type games (think sdv, ac, that sorta deal) but also more violent games (think ultra.kill), and theres really no inbetween. the only time she'll really play anything else is if shes doing so with her brother. (she has played dating sims occasionally on particularly lonely days but we wont judge her for that)
in her route she wouldve passively fallen for the player but been too nervous to say anything, so she'd let them try and help her get dates elsewhere just so she can spend time with them, somewhat intentionally flunking chances with others bc of this

You've given me brainrot on your au so of course I'm going to ramble about an Idea I had for one of my favourite cc's- (Im just rambling, not suggesting stuff you can ignore and delete, legit this shits lonk-) I know Sam's probably going to be in a game like prison architect or The escapist but the thought of popping candy or poprocks sam,,,, His cart is pretty advanced, being one of the redstoners on the server, and it can scatter these poprocks on the ground? Like spike trap in pokemon and they slow people down but if Sam runs over them it sort of gives him a speed boost because of his wheels and it doesn't disappear when people run over it? It has a limited amount of uses, 2 on the smallest maps and 3 on the larger ones, 4 max on something like rainbow-roads shit because it's a double-edged sword- (players who win as him that day unlock the wheels to modify on someone else's cart for that roster that day so they get to use the speedboosts when not playing as him).
The downside being the wheels have bad grip for corners and turns, going off the course sometimes because of this. He's got bad controls for new players and very finicky. Most likely a middle-higher character to play as because of the terrible grip on the wheels.
Additionally, I feel like he'd be able to concentrate the poprocks into an attack that does the same but are used up. One shot per race that splays randomly and hits those in front of him. Very good for if he's in last place. I feel like advanced players would somehow find a way to like, push him forward on a map with it? Like they'd fire it at a corner with a wall and propell themselves over poprocks on the ground or something for a hella glitched but big boost because there's gotta be some broken gameplay-
Lines-wise I love the thought of him having a 20-10 position line when Ponk comes in the top 5/3, the one from the red banquet where he says 'you look so beautiful right now' and it's really fuckin' quiet, like the music overpowers it but you can just hear it. Pain. I have no other ideas for winning lines though.
Butbutbut! I do like the idea of him having a winning animation where Fran runs up to him and he catches her because he adores that dog so damn much. Like, If you've never watched Sam, think of how attached to Friend Ghostbur was, basically that but a little less.
nd yeah, Sam is just a favourite cc of mine and I had to word-vomit this stuff- yeah bye sorry for the long askbox thingy your au is so cool >_>
I appreciate all ideas when it deserves to be posted >:]!!! But yes this is very swag even if I can’t properly form sentences rn

dream smp asagao au, aka the very specific high school au
also aka the post thats very self indulgent for me and maybe 3 other people.
in short: its a dsmp high school au based on the game asagao academy, where everyone is part of a gaming club and compete against one another in tournaments. more in depth info about the AU/Asagao itself, as well as more info about the plot and roles of the AU itself.
Asagao Academy Basics
So to start, let’s cover the basics: what is Asagao Academy. ….well, an old Youtuber dating sim game (which, despite unfortunately including some fairly questionable CCs, IS still really good and well written and I recommend it) But what is it for AU purposes?
Asagao Academy is a highly elite world-wide boarding school set in Japan for those who are either rich enough to afford it, or those skilled enough to get scholarships. Within the game, there are two main clubs: Normal Boots and Hidden Block. They’re both gaming clubs, and joining is seen as super exclusive since they’re ALSO the most popular people in the school.
The two clubs compete with each other in various tournament events with specific categories. For example: Satch (from NB) and Jimmy (from HB) both compete in the “Tech and Invention” category, where they have to create/invent something related to gaming and have it judged at the event like a science fair. Meanwhile, Jared (from NB) and Wallid (from HB) both compete in “Dance” aka DDR and the person with the highest score wins.
The other categories featured in game include: Puzzle games (like Bejeweled or Tetris), Video Game Trivia, Pinball, Retro Platformers, a three-person fighting game, and 100% completion speedruns. So tldr; the categories can be kind of fiddled with and be whatever you want them to be, because even the original ones are pretty wack.
Also, there’s no rules against competing in multiple categories— in fact, most of the HB members in game do! It’s more about balancing time and practicing for them alongside school and other activities.
The winner of the competition is the team/competitor(s) with the most total wins.
Another thing to note: despite competing as clubs, they’re all actually pretty good friends. It’s all lighthearted and fun in the end, hell the leader of the opposing club even helps the main character join the main club just because he wants a decent challenge.
Speaking of… the main character! Hana Mizuno! I don’t have any current plans to include her in this AU (a la new dating routes), but I wanted to mention her for a few reasons.
Tumblr media
For the main reason: her hair. Even as soon as she shows up, Mai (her best friend and roommate, who can break the 4th wall) immediately calls her out for her hair for looking like a main character which as we learn… isn’t an exaggeration. She’s literally a born protagonist, thus being born with naturally pink hair and a tragic backstory. Not only that, but other people are also born protagonists with pink hair as well— she isn’t an exception.
About the AU -- Revolution Era
A few things to note: in this au, when I first drafted it I… wasn’t looking to include 20+ people. I cut a lot of characters, but instead working with the idea that they’re still THERE, they just… don’t compete? Either they aren’t in the club and are just friends with the members, or they’re members who just don’t compete professionally. It’s nothing personal against those CCs and tbh as times goes they may get added more, but for now they’re just in the BG vibin.
It covers a really basic retelling of s1 for most of the planned au. It starts with One Club: the Dream Team. Members include: Dream (sophomore), Sapnap (sophomore), George (junior), Wilbur (junior), Eret (junior), and Fundy (freshman).
For reasons, possibly just as a goof or spite towards their American counterparts, Wilbur declares independence from the Dream Team and makes his OWN gaming club: L’Manberg. He takes Eret (a close friend from his grade) and Fundy (the freshman he immediately adopted) with him, causing the two teams to be 3v3.
But Wilbur’s got a dastardly surprise up his sleeve: TOMMY, HIS YOUNGER BROTHER (bc I am nothing if not a dedicated crimebros stan), AND TUBBO. They’re both too young to actually attend Asagao yet, but theres no age rules in the actual competitions so its fair play. They’re Wilbur’s secret weapon. After all, a 5v3 where the team with the most wins wins the competition? That’s a massive advantage.
… we all know how this goes though don’t we. Wilbur’s day be so fine, then BOOM, Eret betrayal 😔
In this case Eret feels it’s a LITTLE unfair to blindside them like that, plus Dream promised to make him the Leader of the Dream Team and, yknow, that kind of stuff DOES look good on resumes, so…
TLDR; Eret rejoins the Dream Team crew, as well as informing them of Wilbur’s plan with including Tommy and Tubbo and becomes leader. They’re still letting Dream and Co. basically actually do the leading, they don’t care that much, the title is just nice. L’Manberg cusses her out and promises to hold a grudge, but it’s all in good fun. After all, they’re just teens goofing around and playing. The clubs are again 4v4.
Dream tells the L’Manberg club that they can separate, sure… under one condition. They have to win the competition. If they lose, they have to rejoin the Dream Team club.
L’Manberg accepts, but come competition day… they lose. Tommy outright challenges Dream post awards to a speedrun competition for L’Manberg instead. …which Dream professionally competes in, and Tommy DOESN’T.
He loses, but he puts up a good fight despite having little to no actual practice put in, so Dream “grants” L’Manberg their “Independence”. (In this au, instead of being like… weirdly obsessive over Tommy, it’s a lot more “he sees himself in Tommy and wants to support/mentor him” and a “friendly rivalry” kind of deal bc its a damn HIGH SCHOOL AU)
So L’Manberg can be it’s own club! …Next year, when Tommy and Tubbo actually attend, since Wilbur and Fundy aren’t allowed a two person club.
About the AU -- Election Era
SO time skip! Congrats, everything up to now has been BACKSTORY. It’s now the next school year, with two main clubs (I’ve tried to keep them fairly balanced, which is why not all CCs are featured, sorry!)
Dream Team club:
Dream - junior
George - senior
Sapnap - junior
Eret - senior
Punz - junior
BBH - senior
Awesamdude - junior
Ponk - junior
L’Manberg club:
Wilbur - senior
Tommy - freshman
Tubbo - freshman
Fundy - sophomore
Schlatt - senior
Quackity - junior
Niki - sophomore
Jack - sophomore
(Also fun fact! Their grades are loosely based on the CCs actual ages! …Except Fundy, who got Baby-fied to fit the “Wilbur’s Kid” joke, and Eret bc it fit better to be the same age as Wilbur I thought. Oops HEKANDNSN)
So, for whatever Reason (listen this was an au I made in like one night when plagued with brainrot, it’s not all figured out), L’Manberg holds an election. Maybe it’s related to Wilbur wanting L’Manberg to be meaningfully different from Dream Team, maybe it’s a joke, idk!
…. SOMEHOW, Schlatt wins. Which ticks off Wilbur a lot. It’s his damn club, and the whole point was to avoid Americans, tf?? The two start to feud a lot and it threatens to split the club entirely via ppl taking sides. Worse, it means people aren’t practicing for the competition.
All while this is happening, there’s a new intrigue building. Dream catches word of an infamous player in the area, someone known to win entire competitions against teams of people all by HIMSELF. A man with bright bubblegum pink hair called Technoblade. That’s right, literal universe-assigned protagonist Techno. If Dream could enlist him, there’s no doubt in hell they’d be able to beat L’Manberg.
L’Manberg hears of him too and works to try and enlist him as well, so he basically gets courted by both clubs trying to get him to play for them to mixed results. He’s pretty chill vibin by himself, so what’s in it for him? (….I don’t know, remember how this is a WIP au I worked on once?)
Eventually, a teacher named Phil (who’s been the honorary sponsor of the L’Manberg club) gets pissed at Schlatt and Wilbur’s fighting and bans both from competing (aka this AUs version of them dying). Which fucking SUCKS for L’Manberg. They’re now going 6v8 with a wildcard player who’s undeclared on which side he’ll join, if at all.
… honestly, that’s as far as I got. Theoretically, Techno joins L’Manberg to reflect Pogtopia and they win. I never had plans to go into s2 due to its darker theme, but there are definitely changes that could (and might?) be made for the s1 plot just so it flows better.
I already had to shift Wil and Schkatt’s “deaths” to fit, unless I were to have them LITERALLY make a new club. Maybe Schlatt uses his power as Club President to make them work with Dream Team (to the point it basically merges the clubs). Sure, they might be guaranteed to win now but it removes the competition and fun as well as the spirit of OG L’Manberg. So then Wilbur rebels and makes his own club AGAIN, calling it Pogtopia with the intent to get L’Manberg back. Then Techno, intrigued with this group of like 2-3 ppl going against a team of like 13ish people, decides to join them. Idk! Alternative possible plot based more closely on s1 I guess!
I’m gonna add a list of characters in full with their age, their club, and what they compete in (if it’s already brainstormed, most ppl are unknown) below

- Karlnapity is real and canon bc I say so
- both for balance/laziness, every person only competes in one category. also bc it makes Techno that much more Protagonist-y that he does

BUCCI GANG AND HOW THEY WOULD PLAY UNDERTALE
Since I got my friend into the UT fandom, and the brainrot for this game is slowly coming back, I've figured that I'd fuse my favourite franchises and make this post, enjoy!
GIORNO:
-This may surprise you, but Giorno would almost do a Blind Pacifist run
-While at first, he was planning on taking out whoever got in his way, he changed his mind in the moment he saw Toriel
-After she taught him how to resolve the various conflicts peacefully, he decided not to fight, but to show MERCY to every monster
-He finds the multiplicity of choices a very interesting mechanism, especially since he's not much of a gamer, and he's pleasantly surprised to see such an innovative game
-While most of the times he would completely avoid the FIGHT button, if a monster got on his nerves a little too much, he may attack it until it doesn't want to fight anymore
-He takes the time to interact with everything and everyone, he wants to enjoy the game at its fullest
-He was so freaking lucky to meet Gaster on his first run
-Actually brought the piece of snowman with him
-He's part of the "Chara defense squad", and finds them strangely...relatable
-He was just about to do a full Pacifist route, but he couldn't bring himself to SPARE Flowey, and killed him
-"I won't let you hurt her"
-Ultimately, he regretted it, and reset his save file
-After doing a TRUE Pacifist, he left the game, leaving the monsters alone and giving them an happy ending
-Only knows about the Genocide through gameplays
-Favourite character: Toriel, but also likes Chara quite a lot
-Favourite OST: Memories, followed by home, Undertale, Megalo strikes back and Star (he doesn't care if they actually don't play in the game)
-What SOUL would he have: DETERMINATION
BRUNO:
-My man wouldn't hurt a fly if he had the chance to, off to the Pacifist route he goes
-Similar to Giorno, he finds Toriel a very comforting character, but he feels bad for pretty much every monster he meets. He thinks it's unfair for them to be forced to stay in the UNDERGROUND, and wants to find a way to destroy the barrier at any cost
-He's never played a videogame before, but he gets the hand of it quite quickly, even though he still ends up dying a couple of times.
-He would also be the kind of player to interact with EVERYTHING, paying close attention to whatever the passing monster has to say
-Sometimes, he likes to take a break, lay down and listen to the OST of the place he's exploring
-The most challenging enemies for him were Undyne and Asgore. It took him a while to realize that the only way to spare her was to run away, and he just really didn't want to hurt Goat papa
-He lets the bird carrying him to the other side, even if he doesn't actually need to move around. He just wants the little guy to feel appreciated
-Veeeery reluctantly, he decided to SPARE Flowey, it would have been a waste to kill somebody now, after everything that he had done so far
-He almost cried at the Pacifist ending
-He refuses to even acknowledge what happened in the Genocide route
-Favourite characters: Toriel and Asgore
-Favourite OST: Fallen down, but he also likes Heartache, Home and Waterfall
-What SOUL would he have: KINDNESS
MISTA:
-Mista's first run would be a Neutral. It's not that he enjoys killing the monsters, he's mostly just too lazy to think of a way to spare them
-If it's obvious, however, he'll just casually show the enemy MERCY, there's no need to take out absolutely everyone
-The only one who he genuinely looked for a way to spare was Papyrus. Honestly, he couldn't bring himself to just hurt him 'cause he had the chance to. Besides...He was afraid of what Sans would have done
-Speaking of him, he finds his jokes HILARIOUS, and he will use them in real life conversations if he gets the chance to
-He basically wasted all his money fighting Undyne
-He didn't buy the spider donut in the RUINS, and was forced to farm gold for 3 entire freaking days and buy one directly from Muffet
-After finishing the neutral route, he decided to go back and try the others. His next route was a Genocide
-He was about to shoot his computer AND himself while fighting Sans, but he eventually managed to beat him. Of course, after swearing at 3 A. M., drinking 10 cans of Sprite, listening to Megalovania on loop and threatening to throw Narancia out of the window because he interrupted him while he was playing
-His favourite moment during the Pacifist was cooking with Undyne
-He immediately questioned his life choices when he finished the route and saw Chara taking over Frisk's body. Closed the game and never opened it again
-Favourite characters: Papyrus, Sans and Undyne. He refuses to choose an absolute favorite
-Favourite OSTs: Megalovania and Song that might play when you fight Sans. He also likes Bonetroulse and Spear of justice
-What SOUL would he have: BRAVERY
NARANCIA:
-Narancia playing this game would be a total mess. Ironic, considering he's the one in the gang that likes video games the most
-Despite Toriel's guidance, at first, he would FIGHT every monster that got in his way, following the simple "It's an rpg, the more I kill, the better it is" logic
-When he saw the "but nobody came" screen, however, he freaked the hell out and immediately reset
-After that mini heart attack, he went on a full Pacifist route. However, sometimes, he would snap and accidentally kill a monster. He lost count of how many times he had to reload the file
-He also really likes Toriel (she's just very popular among the Bucci gang). The reason for it...Is not a very happy one, like in Giorno's case
-He genuinely tried to stay with her, he didn't want to leave Goat mom
-He's the one who gets emotionally invested in the game the most, he even forgets it's a game at times and just erase the surrounding world from his head
-He LOVES to voice the characters while he plays, it makes the story feel way more alive for him. He makes a very good Papyrus impression
-Speaking of which, his favourite parts of the game were the interactions between Sans and Papyrus.
-He lost his s**t when he arrived at the Temmie village. He stayed there FOR HOURS farming money. Heck, he even bought the Temmie armor
-He refused to open the game for two days after Flowey stole the SOULS
-He wanted to ask someone to play the TRUE lab with him, but he refused to admit that he was scared
-While he's not the kind of player who stops by to read every dialogue, he makes an exception for Snowdin. He really likes that area of the game!
-While he would never admit it, he cried three times during the Pacifist route. The first time when he left Toriel, the second when he heard Chara and Asriel's story, and the third when he finished it
-His favourite fight in the game is the one against Asriel. He kept on repeating the "Don't you have anything better to do" dialogue for 20 minutes, before giving up to the idea that there was really no way to save him
-After giving the monster an happy ending, he was overwhelmed by his own curiosity, and decided to try the Genocide route...Boy did it go wrong
-You thought he cried a lot during the Pacifist? He became a freaking fountain during the Genocide. Every single time he killed a Boss, he cried, with no exception
-He spent days trying to defeat Sans, until he was given the option to SPARE him, and so he did
-...The others could hear him yelling from the other floor after what happened next
-He got tired of Sans' bulls**ts, reset and did a Pacifist again
-He watched a gameplay to know what happened in the Genocide ending. Chara's jumpscare still haunts him
-Narancia gets really involved in the stuff made by the fandom, especially fan made songs and comics
-He listens to "To the bone" religiously, it's part of his routine
-He tried and failed to figure out how AUs work
-Favourite character: Papyrus, followed by Toriel and Asriel. He used to like Sans a lot too...But now he gets Vietnam flashbacks every time he thinks about him
-Favourite OSTs: Bonetroulse, Hopes and dreams and Snowdin. He can't choose between them
-What SOUL would he have: INTEGRITY
FUGO:
-Fugo would categorically refuse to reset on his first run. What it's done, it's done, and he has to take responsibilities for his choices
-He would do a Neutral, killing whoever he encounters, but without specifically looking for the monsters just so that he can kill them
-That doesn't mean, however, that he dislikes to play with the timeline. It's quite the opposite, to be honest
-Fugo enjoys messing around with the save files A LITTLE too much, dude basically became an hacker playing this game
-In his attempt to make a Pacifist run, he fu**ed up and accidentally got the Hacker ending
-"...THIS IS NOT WHAT I MEANT WHEN I SAID I WANTED EVERY ENDING"
-He toned it down a little after that, but he still managed to modify the FUN value enough to meet Gaster and his followers
-He's also the only one who unlocked Sans' room. He doesn't trust him, but he finds him an interesting character
-Neither the Pacifist or Genocide endings particularly picked his interest, even though he did punch the walls a couple of times fighting Sans
-He likes to try the different Neutral endings, he doesn't do all of them, just the ones he thinks that would affect the monsters the most
-The only character he got attached to emotionally was Alphys, he can see himself a lot in her
-He's very interested in the various theories that surround this game, and he's waiting for Deltarune to come out, he just wants to know more about Gaster
-Favourite character: Alphys, but Gaster is a close second
-Favourite OST: Darker, darker, yet darker, followed by Here we are, Waterfall and Premonition
What SOUL would he have: faded BRAVERY
ABBACCHIO:
-MERCY? Is that a food? Yeah uhm...No, that doesn't exist with Abbacchio, nothing but Genocide for him
-It's already a surprise someone convinced him to play this game. He'll play in his own way, and that means killing literally everyone, not simply the ones he encounters, but even looking for them just to earn more Exp
-He was...Weirdly satisfied when he saw the "But nobody came" screen, and he was lucky enough to find every monster almost immediately
-He hadn't found a single character that he liked until he reached Undyne. Her sense of justice reminded him of his old self, which wasn't exactly pleasant at first, but at least he felt something
-He was finally happy to see a monster actually trying to stop what he was doing, and killing her was the only thing in the game that made him slightly sad
-He's still offended for not having the chance to kill monster kid, he couldn't stand that child
-He skipped through pretty much every dialogue in the game, not that there are many people to interact with during the Genocide...
-He'd eat a piece of the snowman right in front of him just to spite him, then take the rest and leave
-He didn't care about whatever Flowey was trying to tell him about his past. That's also because without knowing he's Asriel, most of what he says doesn't really make sense
-In the moment Sans dodged his attack, he realized that he had screwed up REALLY bad. After dying against him a couple of times, he considered resetting, but he wouldn't have let "the lazy skelefu**" have it his way
-He let out a huge "YES" and a sigh of relief when he finally managed to hit him, it took him around a week
-However, little did he know, that the worst still had to come. When he noticed that he wasn't the one who had just killed Asgore and Flowey, he freaked out a little, and Chara staring directly at him made him feel a small shiver down his spine
-Still, he decided to decline their offer to destroy everything, not because he regretted what he had done, he just wanted his revenge on the child for scaring him
-He closed the game after the jumpscare, and never questioned what the hell he had been through
-Favourite character: Undyne
-Favourite OSTs: But nobody came and Battle against a true hero, he also likes The fallen child
-What SOUL would he have: very very faded JUSTICE
TRISH:
-Trish got into this game just because of its music, she kept on hearing it everywhere and wanted to understand where it came from
-She was kinda scared at first, videogames aren't exactly her forte, and her encounter with Flowey didn't help
-She slowly got used to the dynamics of the game, even though she died at least three times in every area, exept for the RUINS. (She only got a game over two times there)
-She doesn't have the heart to hurt anybody, she thinks the monsters (well...Most of them, at least) are adorable! Shyren is her favourite minor enemy, and when she saw the "Taking piano lessons again" text, her heart melted a little
-She refused to take off the faded ribbon until she found she tutu, but she never sold either of them
-She loves flirting with literally ANYONE. You can? Well then...You must!
-Her favourite area is Hotland, including the Core too. She loves the whole "artificial" theme of the place, and she had a lot of fun reading Alphys's posts!
-She would pretend to be an actual part of Mettaton's programmes, but only when she was 100% sure nobody could hear her
-Needless to say, the boss fight against him was one of the funniest parts of the story for her
-Another thing she absolutely adored were the dates with Papyrus and Alphys, especially the latter. After everything that had happened, it was a nice opportunity to relax for a bit
-Similar to Narancia, Trish gets really involved emotionally in playing the game, and she had to take a little break from it before facing Asgore
-The ending genuinely made her cry, but it was the only time she shed a tear through it
-She doesn't care about trying the Genocide, she's worked hard to give the monsters an happy ending, and she wasn't going to throw it away
-She's in love with the Undertale Musical by Man on the Internet, she knows pretty much every song by memory
-Favourite character: Mettaton, but she honestly really likes all of them
-Favourite OST: Death by glamour, followed by Metal crusher, Power of NEO, and Another medium
-What SOUL would she have: INTEGRITY
Yes, I know that Narancia's part is longer, but it's just so funny to write about this baby, bear with me please 😌
