❤️Red Son

He always reminds me of one of my classmates from elementary school(due to his thick eyebrows, glasses, and short temper), so I guess his design was partially inspired by that classmate.

For some reason I’ve always headcanoned his skin color as tan, but he blushes a lot so he has that red tint on his face.

I thought it would be nice to give some patterns to her coat, as she comes from a very powerful family.

I tried to emphasize the blueish colors(violet, purple, and indigo) just a little bit. When people draw fire, they tend to focus on just a few colors like orange, red, or yellow when when in fact flames have a wide variety of colors, including blue. The cooler colors of Red Son’s design represents the more ‘unexpected’ side of them.

💛MK

MK has ‘rounder’ shapes than Red Son, reflecting his easygoing nature that contrasts Red Son’s impatient and short tempered personality.

His sneakers are important to him since he works as a delivery boy and has to run around a lot of places, even when he has his tuk-tuk.

I added some light blue to his original design because… well, because it looked pretty. It doesn’t clash with the yellow and red and makes his design more appealing in my opinion.

💚Mei

Mei is very affectionate and outgoing, that’s why she doesn’t have any sharp edges to her face and body.

But she’s very energetic and athletic as well, so I tried to draw her shoulders and legs like it had visible muscles. Her shoulders, the area that receives more focus than her legs, are covered with a soft jacket so the muscles aren’t that visible, but since she’s wearing tight white pants they can show the exact silhouette of her legs. That’s why her body looks so soft AND firm at the same time.

Despite being short and stocky I think she’d have a very light and graceful walk and a good sense of balance so I gave her some dainty sneakers with metal soles so she can literally kick ass.

The more I consider it, the more I’m thinking about actually making Bowser is a set of identical twins and one is genuinely evil while the other is just kind of an asshole canon to my personal ‘verse. That would mean Mario, prior to the events of Untarnished, actually did kill Bowser… but he doesn’t know that, because Actually Evil Bowser’s twin brother immediately steps in for him and no one’s any wiser.

I like to think the Bowsers weren’t particularly close. Koopas are fiercely loyal to their own, but when your brother keeps using you as a stand-in to do his dirty work while he broods and plots when you could be spending time with your eight beautiful children, wouldn’t you get fed up too? Nevertheless, Kamek delivers the news of the King’s death to The Other Bowser, declaring that he’s now ascended to the throne. He expects a lot of reactions: rage, sorrow, vows of revenge screamed into the heavens. But the new King’s actual reaction?

“Well, I mean, can’t say he didn’t have it comin’. He was a real dick, y’know? And I’M a real dick, so if I’M sayin’ it, you know it’s true!”

Bowser #2’s first kingly declaration has nothing to do with funeral arrangements or doubling down on national defense or even revenge against that filthy plumber who murdered his twin. His first decree is made to his children: “Uncle Bowser’s dead! Let’s go karting!”

“I really don’t think your brother’s untimely death is something we should be celebrating, sire,” Kamek admits a while later as he watches the Koopalings and Junior scuffle over karts in the garage.

“Too bad,” Bowser says, looking on at his kids’ antics and beaming with pride. “We’re celebrating.”

something about mei and mk being ‘the hero and the warrior’ except they’re more based

theres been a few instances of mei being upset about not being able to spend as much time with MK (the one i remember more vividly was her in s5 wanting to go on a ‘classic MK and Mei adventure!’ but im p sure there was an instance in s4 too that i cant recall) which lead to some thoughts

ive seen a lot of stuff about them and how mei might end up like macaque, bitter and abandoned by MK, like wukong did. but i just feel like it isnt true. so this is my future theory:

there’d be a build up of more instances like this. mei wants to do stuff with MK, but he prioritizes his hero training/duties. each time, she’s shown subtly being more and more upset until one day she snaps. she confronts him and is visibly upset, yelling at him.

but then, instead of snapping back (like Wukong did) he apologizes. maybe it can parallel the first fight they had in season 1 during the race somehow?

in the end, the two do what Wukong and Macaque couldnt, and make up. MK owns up to his mistake and they both get better. they have their own little adventures together, or something like that

and like that, it shows how they’re different from the Hero and the Warrior. it shows how Wukong and Macaque couldve turned out if theyd just put down their pride and communicated. it shows what they couldve been.

basically i just think they wouldnt turn out like macaque and wukong. ive seen a lot of people theorize that but they arent emotionally constipated enough for that to happen, plus we’ve seen them argue and make up on screen already.

also i think itd just make for some cool opportunities for art and visual parallels
