Ayo, someone by the name of Curly-B-Blog is redlining art of yours from 2020 (while pretending that it's actually Sai Scribble's work), and kind of being a dick about it. just thought you should know.

You know, originally I was just gonna brush it off, but then I went back to look at my old SU art from 2020 and did so much self reflection from then till now.

I think this was around the time I was just learning how to do perspective and tried to use the perspective tool on Procreate for the first time? :0 and I remember telling Sai “Sai I have this STUPID idea, I CANT believe it this stupid joke it’s so DUMBBBB, it’s living rent free in my BRAIN I SWEAR THIS IS GONNA BE SO STUPID DCIUWHEFIUWHIRFUIW4F” and being super excited to show her the finished product. People still think Sai created the Cursed Skin Gloves comic and I think it’s hilarious wjhwnuhwijwuiw

The comic was received very well and it made LOTS of people laugh and I’m still proud of this comic to this very day! :D and tbh if it wasn’t for my obsession for Sai’s Switcheroo AU I never would have found my passion in comic work! (love you you stinky hoe @saiscribbles 🩷)

HOWEVER…. I definitely still had lots to learn! I wasn’t very good at perspective at the time I’ll admit, but I was definitely having lots of fun learning :3

And throughout the past 4 years, ALOT has happened.

I graduated from college with TWO fancy pieces of expensive papers in Visual Development in Animation and Illustration learning from Will Kim and Jeff Soto, and as a I was working with the funny voice man Cougar MacDowall as a comic/story artist and reached in total around 7 million views for my fan series FNAF Security Malware Breached (it was even #21 on the trending list around the time of my birthday 🩷 what a lovely gift), had an insane opportunity to work with Mike Geno and with the voice cast from The Amazing Digital Circus for a fan song as a background and character asset artist, Vivienne Medrano liking and sharing my silly Overlord Husk AU comics, currently on my route to getting my certificate from Aaron Blaise’s Character design program and graduating from Marc Brunet Art School, and now I am completing my first year as professional colorist and art assistant for my storyboard and comic mentor Michelle Lam, aka Mewtripled! (Also I’ll be heading out to Lightbox Expo 2024 on October 26 with Michelle and the team so if y’all ever wanna meetup hahahajaj wink wink wink wink wink)

So you can say I learned ALOT and I enjoyed every minute of what I do :D I try to be humble about my accomplishments because blah blah being humble good yes yes but this time I wanna be selfish and say HELL YEAH I DID ALL THIS!!! AND IM SO EXTREMELY PROUD OF MYSELF FIUGEIURGERGGRS

Learn from everyone and everything! Yes, even then mean ones too! If you can learn to work with anyone, I promise you’ll get to where you want to be faster. People can be a little mean on the internet, but that shouldn’t stop you from being where you want to be in the future. I’m so EXTREMELY grateful for all the opportunities and to all the kind professionals who were willing to give me a chance. Seriously, I’m so graciously thankful for everything, and I hope everyone here will support me and my silly little comics I will do now and in the future!

And one more thing:

Don’t be a jerk. Be to be nice to everyone :D nothing good comes out when you’re bad to everyone.

imo you can't really brute force developing your own style. i think it slowly develops over time the more media you consume and get inspired by ! (i mean, i'm still trying to find my style so yk,,)

in my case, i tend to gravitate towards more semi-realistic styles, so i would need to develop my fundamentals (gestures, anatomy, line of action, etc, etc..) first as a base point. i would say learning your fundamentals is important even if you want your style to be super cartoony bc it really does help when it comes to deciding which parts you want to exaggerate and stylize and stuff. (it may be boring for some people but i promise u it rlly does help a lot !!!)

btw ur anatomy doesn't have to be perfect on the get go when u want to try stylizing 😭 shit even my anatomy was p bad before i started drawing in my 'style' so dont be discouraged !

ok when it comes to stylizing what i find helpful is copying certain aspects of an art style i like. ur not stealing their whole thing btw !! but u should try to analyze what parts of someone's style that you like !

like for example, i like how Alfons Mucha does hair, so i implement it in how i draw. i remember i liked how Ken Wakui does noses bc its simple enough, so that's what i currently do, i liked the nose bridge lines thing from mha and jjba so i added it to my drawings, and so on and so forth

obv these arent all my influences, there's probably thousands of artists i like, shows i've watched, comics and manga i've read that influenced me etc etc and our art styles are just a mish mash of all of that ! it's actually super cool to see how different people draw depending on what influenced them so ykkk

as for consistency don't be afraid to use your own art as references ! shit even i have a couple of my drawings in my inspo board because of how much i like them and sometimes i would look over and try to remember how i did those LMFAO

but idkkk i don't think you have to strictly adhere to your style. imo experimenting is good and seeing how it changes over time is super cool ! so you shouldn't stress urself out about that :3 eventually you'll develop the habit of sticking to your style, it just takes a bit of time !!

Long and Short of it is I've always hated how Vylad was there in Mystreet S1, PDH S1 and then he just... dropped off the face of the earth after that. It always irked me a bit when it would show Garroth and Zane having brotherly bonding moments (and trauma) and always having the thought of (Man wasn't there a third brother in all this?) there in the back of my mind.

I'm now going to do some little bullet points of my Vylads role in S2-6 but this is a great time to mention I've never seen past S4 so I'm running on Wiki Lore and the gospel of AO3 and @catzgam3rz; who collaborates (Read: Infodump and Ramble) on a hypothetical rewrite with me so it gets vague and murky for the later seasons.

S1:

Basically the same as canon (as in S1 is kinda just slice of life) but instead of Vylad just travelling around the world he is an off the grid hunter that wanders the wilderness all the time (The freak)

This is based on my very fuzzy memories of MCD Vylad always kinda just being in trees as he watched Lady Aphmau in the early seasons so I just put Mystreet Vylad in trees for fun this time

Has a vaguely similar relationship to his brothers as in MCD. in the sense it's better with Garroth and more strained with Zane

S2:

Goes to LLP with the rest of the main cast (which consists of the 11 big designs I made) because season 2 is not when you should be writing out characters Jessica

He wears little rainboots and unlike Laurance (Who FYI wears cowboy boots a majority of the time) the rest of the cast did not get him into flip flops before he went trudging into the ocean (again a freak)

I like to imagine that if any drama is going on in the story you could always see him floating around on an inner tube off in the distance

S3:

Again back to slice of life so he does a lot of shenanigans with the cast here

This is the season where the shadow knights feature but for the life of me, I cannot remember if Vylad was officially a part of them or not (And his Wikia is not even a paragraph~) But if it turns out he was there'll probably be more shenanigans around that.

He ends up leaving mid-season (Fall ish?) to go on a hunting expedition

S4:

Oh hey look Vylad is back because we don't believe in writing characters off with little rhyme or reason Jessica

Vylads hunting expedition ends up being in the same area as the lodge. and we all know nothing bad happens there!

there's now a little ski village downhill from the lodge which is where Vylad is staying at seasons start. He's good friends with a lot of the people there.

He's a werewolf now... Don't worry about it!

Oh, what's this? Is that relationship building between him and Zane on the horizon? Well, that won't hurt at all, will it?

AY:

A not-alone buddy comforts his not-alone buddy (I do not know much about Aphmau's Year but know it's short so that's all I got)

S5:

As he is a part of the Lodge crew he gets to go to Starlight!

Possibly is involved in a certain shenanigan with his brothers I'll be posting a comic about that in a few days

Get's lost constantly. Figures Starlight being an island means he can't really get lost since he'll hit ocean eventually and refuses to acknowledge how big said island is.

Doesn't float around like in S2 but you can still find him wading on the shore in his boots

being a hyperattentive freak, he get's some bad vibes from the island sooner than most

S6

Gonna be honest, me and Catz have not watched all of When angels fall but are planning to soon so I'll just leave you with the fun fact that all of my season 6 designs are supposed echo my MCD's designs for the characters (Since S6 is when it was decided hey maybe Diaries is really important here now)

He hasn’t seen the last of me his goofy ass can never escape my death grip

1. Adamai isn’t really know for personality, back then sure he was actually quite social but he never really fit in so he just kinda gave up.

2. This fucker has the WORST social skills horrible even since Adamai never really had friends besides yugo he doesn’t know how to socialize or start conversations

3. He fidgets a lot, although it’s not noticeable he does fidget with his hands when he gets impatient or annoyed.

4. He doesn’t show much emotion he’s very stoic (this is canon mind you) he can handle things like getting yelled at or being talked down he does complain about it later tho.

5. I like to believe Adamai is very oblivious to specific things like social cues and people dropping hints about wanting to surprise him or even be his friend.

6. He’s smart and VERY hyper-aware like extremely hyper-aware although yes he’s oblivious to specific things this fucker can pick up on things very quickly. Example: someone trying to sabotage him? He will immediately know.

7. He is very good at arguments and will go by any means necessary if he wants to win said argument.

8. He can fight, very VERY well this man can absolutely kick your ass.

9. He likes to draw

10. He doesn’t mind the heat or cold, it’s snowing outside? He doesn’t care. It’s 100 degrees? He can’t feel it.

11. There have been incidents where he has accidentally embarrassed himself. (He slipped and fell while restocking shelves, he’s ok tho.)

19. There are times where he drinks to much water and almost none at all, there is no in between with this man.

20. He likes to play videogames actually he’s pretty good at fighting games as well, look at my gamer boy.

24. He’s a bit of a morning person, but not all the time there have been times where he has (quite literally) threw his fucking alarm.

25. He’s actually very responsible with his money, he saves up a lot and doesn’t spend much.

26. I like to imagine he’s like a cat sometimes. He sees something shiny? He fucking TAKES IT, sees a red dot? He try’s to fucking grab it (imagine a cat with a red dot laser) his eyes get HUGEEE

27. He’s very cuddling, since he never gets physical affection he’s very clingy and protective. (My insert can agree SEE I DID IT AGAIN)

28. None of the other dragons seem to talk to him, although he doesn’t know why. (Adamai honey you aren’t really up to dragon standards.)

that is a catholic prayer we say before communion if i remember correctly. it is meant to absolve you from any minor sin you may have commited in the time between last mass and the current one, yknow, things like lying or thinking "bad things" etc etc. It is half of it; the rest directly names virgin mary and such so i didnt find it necessary to add it, it would have killed the vibe imo.

I wish i could add a translation, but honestly im not sure wheter if it gets used in other countries and/or how many variations of it exists, and i dont want to mess anything up, sorry :(

im thinking about loop. as usual. but today im putting a fun spin on things and thinking specifically about my botw au loop.

heres my original drawing of them from last year + another image for cropping. it feels pretty self-evident to me but this may be an instance of the one xqcd comic. about accidentally assuming what is common knowledge.

so. loop is fi. fi from skyward sword not breath of the wild yes. heres a little lesson on the zelda timeline for those of you who havent read the hyrule historia book cover to cover.

pre skyward sword—there is a manga in the back of hyrule historia about the first hero. the one before sksw link, who is the "first hero". this actual (non-canon, probably) first hero was wrongfully imprisoned for vaguely specified reasons that i dont remember and thus wasnt really able to do his hero things. i guess. and hylia (not zelda yet) who was in love with him . well shes important i dont rlly remember how shes relevant to this link specifically. but link sacrifices himself for the good of the people and hylia sends up the sky islands that would later become skyloft and others. because theres a war happening i forgot to mention that. i think the master sword is relevant but can you tell its been a while since ive read this. because it has.

and now the master sword. i havent actually finished sksw and dont know the whole story even though i really. should by now. but i know the basics. fi is the spirit of the master sword and i think she was made by hylia to aid in that whole war i mentioned. or something like that. shes only present in sksw but technically shes in botw too bc the master sword speaks to zelda and uses her little chime and like. obviously thats a callback to sksw.

so. loop.

loop in this au is the first hero. kiind of. theyre more of the chosen hero (sksw) in terms of story elements but first hero in terms of like, situation? this gets into a lot of the Lore which ii wont explain. bc that would like triple the length of this post. but BASICALLY the rundown of the situation is that Loop is in a Situationship (aka messy QPR) with Change's First Chosen (aka Mirabelle); Chosen gets nabbed by the first King; Loop sacrifices themself to save her. the Chosen then puts Loop's soul in their sword bc of how much she cares for them. and maybe kills the King with it for dramatic effect.

and then the Universe and Change God are so moved* by this they decide if it aint broke dont fix it. and thus begins the Cycle.

(*the universe just saw a Situation that tied itself up in a neat bow while also progressing things and was like yeah ok lets just keep doing that. and change went along with it bc they were actually moved by it. and wanted to play toys)

SO. now Loop is in the sword. dead. tragic. aand (fast forward several thousand years and heroes (and theres one in particular they remember so well. they dont speak of him. he doesnt matter anymore.)) here comes a Siffrin who. also dies! but gets to come back and try again. because life just isnt fair i guess. and this motherfucker is so useless (helpless) and doesnt know anything and they cant just watch it all go wrong again so. they break their several thousand year silence and help him.

Firstly - where have I been? Work REALLY picked up in a way I wasn't expecting over the last...4 months? I was working double and often triple the hours I was used to. With work, vacations, random illnesses, and many video games I got a bit too obsessed with, this blog took a backseat. Plus, sometimes I get disinterested in vore when obsessed with something else. Sometimes, that lasts months, and it did this time.

But now I can confirm that work will FINALLY chill for a long period of time. I'm free! And more motivated than ever! Wahoo! Thanks for your support ALWAYS.

Next big question - when am I going to do more of my story? The one with Asyr? AHHHHHGHHGHH this story has consumed my life. I think about it daily. I dream about it. And yet I'm not as comfortable writing as I am drawing, so writing is a slow process that my perfectionist ass struggles with. I can assure you that there is a story in the works - and I am working on it at a snail's pace.

We're going back so far that I think this is about my naga oc (which I'm in the midst of redesigning cough cough). For him, he would never tolerate being prey, extremely unwilling bahaha. In general, I haven't thought much about naga or snake prey! I get the appeal of slurping up a noodle, but I just prefer human prey :)

This is fanfiction where Abe got a peculiar child, and since in canon Franklyn felt like Abe neglected them, this a story from Franklyn's perspective and a dribble of a comic that was drawn before this short story was written and is not finished. Next story will be from Alice's point of view

Franklyn POV

As long as I can remember, Dad has always loved Alice more than me and Susan.

Why? To this day I still wonder.

He would often bring Alice with him on his many trips. I remember I would beg Dad to bring me too, and that just ended in disaster and nightmare for a month, yet he kept bringing Alice with him.

Alice, father‘s favorite. What was so special about Alice? What could she do that we couldn't? She was weird, she had peculiar opinions and did strange things.

When I was younger I was so jealous of Alice and all the attention dad gave her. In a way, I still am, even as an adult. The way Dad mourned her, I can't help to wonder if he would mourn me and Susan as much if we died.

Still, I do regret how I treated her when we were younger. Mocery, pettiness, and resentment. Mocking her for being dad's favorite when I myself wished even an ounce of that attention. Not helping her when she asked, and resenting her for taking Dad's attention and love.

She and Dad have always been quite… Peculiar. I guess that's what they had in common. Or perhaps me and Susant just weren't good enough.

Then when she was 16 she suddenly left for France, apparently having enough of Dad and his ways, whatever that meant. Parts of me can't help to wonder if I too was a reason for her leaving. Years later I got news of her death, but the strange thing was that I didn't feel as much sadness or grief as I should.

Sure she was my baby sister but to me Dad and Alice were strangers. A sad thing to realize but it's the truth. My father the man who was supposed to be my role model and hero, was a man I felt only had children because he had to, to compensate for his family. And Alice my baby sister, the one I as a big brother was supposed to protect and keep safe. They say her death was a tragic accident, that she was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

My sister was killed in a freak accident still I don't feel anything. She was my sister yet I didn't even know her, not really.

I never truly knew who she was or what she and Dad did, or anything about her. Now she is dead and all that I'm left with is storys about her that i was told by other people. And it makes me angry, sad and fills me with guilt that I never got the chance to get to know my own baby sister.

gabby i dont think you understand how genuinely impressive your stuff is on a technical level. you somehow have the motivation to draw EVERY DAY, and the majority of those drawings are colored, shaded, full/nearly full body pieces with at least two characters in them. like dude. that shit takes EFFORT. and you make COMICS too ?@!??@! I'VE TRIED TO MAKE COMICS BEFORE AND IT KILLED MY MOTIVATION INSTANTLY, AND I WASN'T EVEN DRAWING ANY BACKGROUNDS OR ANYTHING. YOU ARE A WIZARD TO ME. you clearly understand how to make characters interact with each other and their environment believably and it shows so well.

you're also able to TURN characters. you don't just draw a front view, you draw back views and side views and you do so consistently. I can pick out a bunch of artists who i think draw very good but they don't seem to draw poses as diverse as you do. you're also INCREDIBLE at depicting different body types and have a good grasp on color and lighting. and you do all this on top of keeping your art expressive and adorable. LIKE BRO. YOU'RE SO MUCH MORE SKILLED THAN YOU GIVE YOURSELF CREDIT FOR. you are an AWESOME illustrator and comic maker.

no but serious,i really needed to hear something that make me feel less inferior....i always see other artists doing fantastic works and i always fell bad for me for not doing those stuff but then i remember that i just started ACTUALY fully drawing in december and i still leaning good drawing techinques with a actually GOOD program...i had dreams abt pushing my artist talent foward in this fandom but...i ended up not doing half of i was planing to do for.... a lot of reasons...i feel if i was more emocionally mature i would be WAY better than i am but idk how to stop this feeling...

but thanks me anyway,idk if artists are ALWAYS that critical of themselves or im just that insecure,but i will try to work in that okay?

Welcome to the fandom! I'm very curious to see what type of lu fan you are, as it's always great to see the diversity of people that enjoy any given thing.

I saw you're a fan of Wild, and you've read some fics and such, are there any that you'd recommend to someone that wants to get to know a bit more of his character? I'm biased to Legend, as he's easier for me to draw, but I've been wanting to dive deeper into the personalities of the others in the chain, particularly Wild, as he's set up for a lot of character growth in the og comic.

(not lu but still really good :)) ) the worldbuilding is,,, mwah things that go unnoticed about hyrule - this entire series of oneshots eats but this one is probably my favorite. hyrule & wild bonding but in the You Get It way

it's me wild! find me in the future! - wild stays for totk and the chain goes through the stages of grief live. i just??? enjoy the characterization for this???? everything that didn’t kill me - basically a 50 things that wild told the chain how he got his scars. this one is here for the whimsy. while reading i literally went "I GET IT. I UNDERSTAND" bc of some of the things listed also happened to me while playing botw. this one isnt serious in the slightest only the wild ones - the chain meet wild at various stages in his life. big brother twilight baybeeee mixing our history into our batter - aurora and wild bake together. this one just made me happy dude idk its just full of whimsy and silliness from castle town to ordon - wild is socially anxious, rich, and a menace, more at eleven i'm a riddle in nine syllables - the chain are ghosts that help wild on his adventure. i read this one real recently and i!!!! yk?
