😭 I got 2 packs of pokemon cards from half priced books and I got THREE doubles 😭😭 I guess that's what I get for getting the first two off the rack instead of "shuffling" the packs

Pika-Less Ash

“Young man – are you all right?”

“Huh?” Ash asked, blinking a few times. “What happened? I was leaving Pallet for my new journey…”

He rolled over, looking up. “Where am I?”

“Hisui,” the man standing over him replied. “I don’t think I’ve heard of Pallet…”

“Well, I’m Ash Ketchum, and I’m from Pallet!” Ash declared, then frowned. “Hisui? I think I’ve heard of that place… isn’t that ancient Sinnoh?”

“Sinnoh?” the man asked, as Ash got to his feet. “Isn’t that the god that the Clans worship?”

He looked up, and Ash followed his gaze.

“Oh, right,” Ash said, spotting the distortion at the top of Mount Coronet, and putting two and two together. “I get it! I’m in the past! Not the first time, huh, Pikachu?”

Silence answered him.

“Pikachu?” Ash asked, worried, then raised his voice. “Pikachu!”

“Ash, what are you doing?” the man asked. “Do you want to get the attention of a wild Pokémon?”

“No, just Pikachu’s attention,” Ash replied. “He’s my best friend! But, uh… if he isn’t around here, then…”

He scratched his head. “I guess maybe he’s got amnesia, that happens sometimes… if he has, then Team Rocket might have got their hands on him! I’d have to rescue him, then.”

“...amnesia?” the man repeated. “Ash, you… seem to be a very strange person.”

“Huh?” Ash asked, with a frown. “Why do you think that?”

He reached for his belt, ready to send out one of his Pokémon to help him look, and found no Pokéballs there.

“...okay, this is getting weird,” he decided. “Rotom? Do you have any ideas?”

When Ash brought out his phone, though, there was no sign of Rotom.

Instead, his phone had changed, bright white with gold spikes on it, and there was a message visible on the screen.

SEEK OUT ALL POKÉMON.

“Well, uh… I guess I could do that?” Ash said. “I wonder why my phone looks like Arceus…”

“I have so many questions,” the man admitted, then shook his head a little and introduced himself. “Right, sorry… my name is Professor Laventon. And I have to admit that I’m not sure if you’re crazy or not.”

“Huh,” Ash said. “I think Iris said that, once.”

The next day, in Jubilife Village, Ash had a fuller sense of the problems facing him.

“People here are scared of Pokémon?” he repeated. “But… why? They’re Pokémon!”

“Pokémon are dangerous,” Rei said. “You need to have a good understanding of a specific Pokémon before you can be sure that they’re safe to be around.”

He indicated the Pokéball on his belt. “My Pikachu is… well, I’m confident that he’s safe, but that’s because I’ve worked with him for long enough to be sure about that. Other people haven’t.”

“But… but…” Ash began, shaking his head as he tried to put it into words. “It’s… okay, you need to respect Pokémon, and not annoy them, and if you go out into the wilderness then sometimes you’re going to be barging into where Pokémon live so it’s best not to annoy them. But most Pokémon are nice! So many of the Pokémon I have on my team are friends who I didn’t even battle to have join my team, and most of the rest agreed to a battle to join me!”

He pointed at Professor Laventon, who was checking in on an Oshawott, a Rowlet and a Cyndaquil that Ash had helped retrieve. “You don’t think any of those Pokémon are dangerous, do you?”

“Ash, it’s… not about that,” Laventon said, trying to explain. “Here and now, we consider Pokémon dangerous unless there’s a good reason to think otherwise.”

“But there always is,” Ash replied. “They’re… Pokémon!”

Rei stifled a laugh.

“I guess things are just different in the future, right?” he asked.

“Not just then, in the past, too,” Ash said. “When I went back to Ancient Forina they had loads of Pokémon working with them there, only, that was so far back they didn’t call them Pokémon because Pokéballs didn’t exist yet.”

“...I’m starting to understand why you’re so all right with being in such a strange situation,” Laventon conceded. “All right… well, Ash, what are you going to do now?”

“He could ask Cyllage if he can stay here,” Rei suggested. “You know, on a long term basis. Joining the survey team, maybe. I’m pretty sure she’d be okay with it, since Ash is so fearless with Pokémon… or if that doesn’t work, maybe he could try the clans.”

“The clans, now there’s something I hadn’t considered,” Laventon admitted. “You know, Ash, their attitude to Pokémon is a bit closer to yours… and, now I think about it, if you have come here for a reason, maybe it’s related to the clans. There have been strange bursts of lightning striking down from the sky, driving the Noble Pokémon into rages-”

Laventon’s explanation was cut off as Ash’s phone went ding.

Then, as he was rummaging in his pocket, it went ding again.

“What is that, anyway?” Laventon asked, curiously, as the phone emerged.

“It’s a phone,” Ash replied. “This one looks kind of like Arceus, I’m not really sure why, it didn’t look that way before.”

I GIVE, the first message said, just above the second. COME AND PICK UP YOUR POKÉMON AND TELL THEM TO STOP.

“Huh?” Ash asked.

death note x pokemon!!

i've been formulating pokemon teams for death note characters, figured i'd put them here. i haven't perfected light's team but he 100% has a charizard and an umbreon. there's a few others i don't have solid teams for, but if i complete them i will post them!

there are a good chunk of mons that are in large part there mostly for aesthetic purposes, so keep that in mind!

if anyone has any cool changes for the current teams or thoughts on characters not shown feel free to share :D

starting with L's team!

his first pokemon was given to him by watari, and it was a shiny rowlet (it's shiny because it fits the team's aesthetic but my justification is watari's rich as hell so of course he can get L a shiny starter mon). the whole line gives off big watari vibes, it even turns into a sharpshooter!! perfect for protecting the world's greatest detective.

he's got a shiny umbreon who serves the role of partner pokemon, and they have the closest bond in the team (except maybe decidueye, but they're pretty much at the same level.) it parallels light's own umbreon, who also serves as partner pokemon to light. it's complete coincidence they both have umbreon (just further proves that they are perfect for each other >:D )

he has an alcremie because of course he does!! he loves sweets, and since alcremie make the best whipped cream for desserts, he HAD to have one. specifically the vanilla cream kind with strawberry candies.

next is metagross because metagross is way smarter than a supercomputer and L has always been really into technology. having one around is very helpful for his investigations.

he has an experiment gone (sorta) wrong, a porygon-z. it's difficult to work with, but L has managed to figure out how to work with it anyway. yet another technology mon to feed L's tech obsession.

last mon on his team is a bronzong. because he hears the bells. obviously. also, when bronzong lets out warning cries, which sound like bells tolling, it can summon rain. i mean, come on. he can't not have one on his team.

now that L's main team has been explained, it's time for another group of pokemon L has-- his contest mons!! L is really into pokemon contests and participates in them frequently (he always wins, of course). he's even got a pokemon for each type of contest category!

the alcremie and umbreon are from his main team, they just also participate in contests. he has a luxray who is also used for protection on top of contests since they can see through walls. very cool, very useful. (also very indulgent for me since luxray is one of my favorite mons.) he loves food pokemon so naturally he's got some more on top of alcremie. speaking of which....

he's got even more!! the others aren't used for battle or contests, he just likes having them around <3

you may think that he has an insane amount of pokemon and would struggle to care for them all while working on cases and participating in contests so much, and you would be correct. which is why watari has it all taken care of :D (that poor, poor man)

next up, we've got misamisa's team!

were most of these mainly an aesthetic choice? yes! and there's a very good reason for it. misa would totally have a team of cute mons that match her aesthetic!! since she's a model, she also uses them in her photoshoots and they themselves are very famous pokemodels.

her main partner pokemon is spinda. it doesn't fit in with the rest of the team's aesthetic, she was just completely encapsulated by it and its adorable silliness. she HAD to have it. they are now besties.

misa isn't very interested in pokemon battling, so her team isn't fully evolved. but you know what she is interested in?

that's right, pokemon contests!! she's not only famous for her modelling career, but also her pokemon contest skills!

each one of her pokemon sans spinda have their own contest category they specialize in.

she's one of the top contest participators, only ever bested by L. they are very close competition, however. while light is L's competition in regards to intellect, misa is L's competition in regards to pokemon contests. they are able to bond over their shared interest and frequently hold their own at-home contests during the time L is chained to light. they force light to participate as well, much to his dismay.

the rest of the task force think it's a waste of time, besides matsuda. he LOVES watching them. he's always been a big fan of misamisa's appearance in contests and is overjoyed that he gets to see her compete up close :>

next is god of the new world, light!

while i don't have his team fully fleshed out, there are some pokemon he has outside of a battling team.

there's the family litten, who doesn't care much for any of the other household members. it spends most of its time curled up in light's lap during his study sessions or while he's cleansing the world of sin.

the other is an applin given to him by his mom. he doesn't care for the applin much, but there is someone who does....

light started breeding applin in response to ryuk's extreme desire to eat his own. he puts up a front to his family, saying it's a hobby of his he's been getting into. he makes money selling the applin and ryuk gets to eat one every now and then instead of eyeing light's applin or making him buy more apples, so he isn't bothered by it (he secretly enjoys figuring out how to breed for the best IVs and natures possible, but he's not gonna tell ryuk that)

his applin has a special ribbon so ryuk won't mix it up with the others-- ryuk is absolutely forbidden to eat the one his mom gave him.

his litten also helps hatch the eggs a bit faster. it doesn't have flame body, but it's still able to warm them up so it helps, even if just a little.

next up, rem!

yes, she has two shinies. they just work so well!!!

shiny hisuian zoroark is so perfect in every way i just can't. it's the "embodiment of death", which fits very well with the whole shinigami thing, and it looks so fucking rem coded. actually perfection. also, although i don't have ryuk's team ready yet, he does have a normal zoroark which i think is pretty cool >:]

she has a shiny gardevoir because, uh, of COURSE she does!! gardevoir is the protector pokemon. they protect the people they care about with their life, and even sleep standing up just in case they need to jump into action to save their trainer. yet another perfect mon for rem's team.

there's a gothitelle on her team because.... well.... let me just insert its black and white 2 pokedex entry: "It can see the future from the movement of the stars. When it learns its Trainer's life span, it cries in sadness." enough said. also, i think it's adorable that it matches misa's gothorita <3

the others are mostly for aesthetic purposes, but i think they work pretty well on her team regardless!

next, mello!

yet another team that heavily revolves around aesthetic, but similar to misa, i think he would care a LOT about that sort of thing. he slays so hard i just know he would want his pokemon to match his style.

he has a houndoom who he mega evolves in battles because it looks sick as hell and is strong as fuck. his houndoom's horns are sharply pointed back, showing its natural leadership.

garchomp, staraptor, blaziken, and zangoose not only fit in his team aesthetically, but they are also all very strong and courageous. most are also really hot-headed or aggressive, which works super well with his demeanor.

and his partner pokemon, lucario? well....

they can share his chocolate together c:

a little extra thing, mello has some pokemon that are a part of his mafia group.

they aren't really owned by any of the members, they're just there to chill and have a good time. maybe intimidate a few people for the gang. you know how it is.

last but not least, near!

now, you may be asking yourself, "how the heck did this child get an ultra beast on his team??" the answer to that is simple: he saw big stacked cube mon, he got big stacked cube mon. watari, being rich as hell, indulged in near's want for big stacked cube mon, so now this 13 year old has a massive, highly aggressive ultra beast (which isn't unheard of in the actual pokemon universe). where does he keep it? idk, that's for watari to figure out (that poor, poor man)

his shinx and metang are related to L's luxray and metagross, respectively. they were given to him by L himself when he saw near's potential.

meowstic and shiny reuniclus not only fit the aesthetic, but are extremely powerful/intelligent psychic types. it's mostly aesthetic tho.

he has a shuppet that he loves to play with. it not only serves to spend quality playtime with him, but feed off of any negative emotions near is feeling as well. he's super calm and collected most of the time, and while his shuppet isn't the whole reason, it definitely helps him keep his cool when the other SPK members are dropping dead around him.

while not a part of his team, he does have a bunch of magnezone that serve as a kind of satellite. they don't function exactly the same as his actual satellites, but they are still very useful to him in their own way.

and that concludes what i have so far!

It's time for Dorm Leaders with Ash's Pokemon headcanons!

Riddle- Bulbasaur

Bulbasaur is the ringleader of Ash's Pokemon, and Riddle respects it a lot

to be able to keep 50+ chaotic Pokemon in line, despite many of them having the ability to toss Bulbasaur around like a salad

Bulbasaur also has none of the Adeuce shenanigans and is constantly using his vines to stop them

Riddle and Bulbasaur have very peaceful teatime with each other

and by peaceful, I mean the two relax at a table drinking tea and eating cookies

while Ace, Deuce, Grim and Ash goof around

they need the "parental supervision" a Riddle put it

ignoring the fact that Ash has raised Pokemon from eggs like they were her own kids lol

all in all, Riddle and Bulbasaur are actually the most peaceful duo in this entire thing

Leona- Rowlet

ever since Rowlet arrived in TWST, Leona has been waking up with it sleeping somewhere near him

next to him

on his lap

on his shoulder

it was in his hair once

and every single time when he woke up, he would either scare Rowlet awake so it would fly away, or he'd just throw it

but last time he threw Rowlet, Ash threw him, so no more throwing Rowlet

as time went on, he sorta just learned to accept the fact that Rowlet was now his sleeping buddy

and no matter where he hid, he would always be found

no one brings it up to him either, because who wants to tell leona kingscholar that he's getting friendly with a fricking owl

that's right, no one

except Ash, of course >:)

Azul- Dracovish

Azul thoughts Dracovish was kinda derpy (tbh, he kinda still does)

but when he sees Dracovish's Fishious Rend practically obliterate the practice dummies

he suddenly glad that Ash didn't use Dracovish on him when he Overblot...

she did, he just doesn't remember :/

Dracovish was relentless btw

Dracovish loves being petted, and once jumped into the Octavinelle water tank just to make Azul get out of his office

then, once Azul gets out of the office, Dracovish pops out and asks for pets

at this point, Azul caught onto it, but doesn't have the heart to stop it

he won't admit it, but he does like Dracovish

Kalim- Totodile

Kalim and Totodile meet for the first time

then Ash has trouble getting Totodile to go back to Ramshackle with her

the two are immediately glued together and dancing and playing around in the water

jamil is tired

they're literally best friends when the day ends

Kalim and Totodile are hugging each other, huge crocodile tears in their eyes as Jamil and Ash have to physically separate them because it is past curfew, dammit Kalim

Kalim is actually one of the very very few that a majority of Ash's Pokemon like

Totodile especially

did I mention that they're best friends now?

cause they are

it's fun loving Water UM/Type solidarity

Vil- Unfezant

ahhh Unfezant

so agile, so graceful

done so dirty in all of her battles, she deserves better

Vil first meets Unezant as she's flying around with Ash's other Flying-types, and he's never seen a bird do as many elegant aerial tricks as her

is intrigued with how well maintained she is

meanwhile, Unfezant is wondering who the hell this boy is and why he's looking at her like that

is, ironically, unsettled by Vil at first because all he does when he sees her is analyze her, which makes her very uncomfortable

retaliates by sending string gusts of wind to mess up his hair

and Ash has to proceed to tell a very irate Vil that he's making Unfezant very uncomfy and the wind thing was her way of making him stop

guess Rook rubbed off on him more than he's like to admit...

slowly, Vil begins to actually talk to Unfezant, especially complimenting her flying prowess, and Unfezant starts to kind of like him a bit

now messes his hair up as a sign of appreciation :)

Idia- Pikachu

literally who else could I pick?

the biggest lil shit there is >:)

despite being a cat guy, Idia was immediately interested in Ash's only Electric-type

"kinda like a marketable plushie..."

was almost zapped for that comment

but he WAS zapped for picking Pikachu up to look at him

Ash tried to warn him, even went to grab Pikachu back from him

cue Pikachu zapping BOTH of them

cue Ash having to explain that Pikachu does that with people he doesn't like

also cue Ash having to explain that she's used to it because Pikachu literally electrocutes her as a sign of affection

Idia is mildly concerned, but seeing as she isn't hurt he lets it slide

tries to keep making friends with Grim and Pikachu and the two are not having a good time :/

keep the crazy cat boy away from the electric mouse pls

Malleus- Charizard

“ah, what a fearsome yet protective dragon you have”

“but… Charizard’s not a dragon…?”

he even has Ash pull it up on one of her Pokédex’s

at this point, with what happened with iris, Ash is used to people mistaking Charizard for a dragon

Charizard, however, is a bit ofended (cuz that's just how he is 😅)

so he tries to flame Malleus

doesn't work on him, but Ash gets caught in the crossfire and gets covered in soot

cue malleus being genuinely concerned for the human

cue ash having to explain she's used to it and it's a sign of affection

rather impressed with Charizard's display of moves

technically pokemon review: best / worst green shinies? though i don't know if anywhere sorts shinies by colour so. it's just the meme

(Note: I am not mentioning every single green shiny here because there's like 50+ of them, so don't freak out if your fav isn't mentioned.)

Best:

Rowlet: Grass-types always look good in green, but it works particularly well with Rowlet because there wasn't an abundance of green in the original design, making it a fairly obvious high-contrast shiny. The green color they choose has subtle blue tones to it that gives it a pleasant, almost minty look, and they adjusted the green and orange accents to better compliment this shade instead of just leaving them as-is. (Shoutout to Vileplume and Venusaur, who follow the same concept and just aren't being mentioned for redundancy.)

Lileep: Here's a tip—because blue is an analogous color to green, you can color shift basically any blue Pokemon to green with some degree of success (Poliwrath is a good example of this). Lileep is unusual though because the color shift is actually happening with purple rather than blue. It works, though—the green compliments the yellow well and the color feels natural for its typing. They also shifted the petal color over to be more yellow to match the green base, seeing as the original's pink matched the purple.

Applin: No, a Pokemon doesn't have to be a grass-type to make a green shiny look good (Masquerain is a good example), but they seem to pull it off really well—probably because the color choice feels like it could've been the original color, instead of it "feeling" like a recolor. This is especially true for Applin, which swaps the standard red out for a classic green apple. The shift is pretty straightforward, but making the green at the top darker instead of lighter to make sure there's enough contrast between the green of the eyes and the body is a well thought-out touch.

Worst:

Larvitar: This might be a controversial hot take(TM), but I will always take a bold shiny, even one that's objectively ugly or an ill-fitting color choice, over one that's subtle and boring. Say what you will about Dragonite or Espeon, but at least they feel like you have a special Pokemon when you catch them. Larvitar here is just... really boring. And even if you put that aside, the darker green lowers the contrast between it in the red, making the colors look muddied. Tyrannitar makes the very logical choice to just swap the green out for brown; why Larvitar didn't just do the same is beyond me.

I ended up making an Iruma trainer sprite

It’s based on his Heartbreaker arc design but without the second year accessories.

This look:

I just realized that I never explained the lore of the au at all. Anyway through the Pokémon world’s Iruma’s sheer inability to say no he ends up working for Team Rocket. He’s actually pretty good at battling but he absolutely sucks at being evil. So, at the beginning he’s working on one of Team Rocket’s schemes to hustle people with Magikarps. They put water proof paint on the Magikarps to make people think they are shiny and sell them.

After a scuffle with the resident Pokémon protagonist (so basically a walking child god) Ethan the scheme is busted and everyone is arrested. At the police station Sullivan arrives after Iruma’s parents have sold him. Considering that his options are go to jail or go with Sullivan and all of this gets cleared away he goes with Sullivan.

Much like canon Sullivan is the headmaster of a school which in this case is a Pokémon one. However…there is a bit of a twist. There’s some mafia au mixed in here actually 😅. Sullivan is actually the elderly leader of an old evil team and as his new grandson Iruma is to be his new successor. The elite Pokémon school is secretly helping train up the children of the criminal underworld of the Pokémon world.

Honestly I only really have thought of the basic premise. I dunno maybe Ethan will maybe a reappearance later.

His team at the beginning is in the early twenties. When he was a Rocket Grunt he owned three Pokémon: Kangaskhan, Gyarados, and Togepi. Gyarados is his strongest at the time because it’s Gyarados.

As for his Rowlet I was thinking that he receives it either from Sullivan or Bachiko. His first Pokémon was Kangaskhan which he became close with after she took care of him while he was left alone in the wild by his parents. He only ended up catching her so that she wouldn’t be caught by poachers. Even though he is now 14, Kangaskhan still treats him like he’s a baby. As for the Togepi he befriended one while he was being taken to various places to perform jobs.

Round 2 Poll Stats

Hello everyone! We've done it! Made it through the entire pokedex a second time, and finished voting on every poll. Here's a collection of stats that you'd see in the previous pokestat posts (Gen 1, Gen 2, Gen 3, Gen 4, Gen 5, Gen 6, Gen 7, Gen 8, and Gen 9), plus a couple more I found interesting!

Ride the cyclone au where they have pokemon!! It's taken me a rlly long time but I've figured out who would have which pokemon.

Explanations for most of them below. I tried to use a read more but Tumblr was not having it

Also the types are on there, just because.

A lot of them were based on character's vibes so be prepared for some to not be explained. Feel free to ask about them and I can try to explain what made me choose them

Ocean O'Connell Rosenberg

- She'd get loads of grass types but idk why

- Wooper bc I wanted a water pokemon (bc "Ocean") and I feel like that's the one she'd pick

- Snivy bc he looks rlly stuck up and also bc she's a mega slytherin and I wanted to give her a snake bc of that

- Rowlet bc she'd absolutely love the bowtie

- I bet she'd hate poison pokemon and I feel like her parents would have loads of them

Noel Gruber

- You know he'd love ghost/poison/dark pokemon. He'd love the aesthetic.

- Lampent bc it is smth he'd want but more importantly it's bc I couldn't miss out on putting Noel's Lampent in this

- Roserade bc he needed a rose pokemon and that was the most dramatic one

- Umbreon bc of the aesthetic but also bc it evolves based on friendship and I think he would want to do it like that

- Some fire types because fire is symbolic of passion and he got the "sign of passion"

Mischa Bachinski

- Cubone bc it matches his vibe and he'd want one but the dead mother thing was a part of it (look up cubone's lore if you don't know)

- He wouldn't want to catch anything in Canada. I doubt he'd go out enough to find any he liked

- He and his mother were around radiation a lot, so I think in the pokemon universe there'd be a lot of poisonous pokemon around that area

- Mareanie bc I saw a hc that he grew up near the sea and I like it. She's a water/poison type so I thought it worked

- I picked a fighting type because he's the angriest boy in town

Ricky Potts

- His family still has a total of 14 but Espurr is specifically Ricky's

- I think psychic types would be good for medical reasons. Like a medical aid helper pokemon? idk how to explain but they can help him do stuff he'd struggle with (like carrying things when he's using crutches yk)

- His family just collect cat like pokemon. The word cat is in the pokedex for a lot of them so I can still say "14 cats" and "sexy cat ladies"

Penny Lamb / Jane Doe

- The aspiring pokemon conservationalist, she'd want hundreds but her foster family doesn't let her get many big ones.

- I needed to give her a sheep her name is lamb

- Normal types bc she didn't stand out enough for people to remember her

- Ezra borrows her pokemon a lot and when the cyclone crashed most of them were with him. Mimikyu was with her in the afterlife but didn't recognize her without her real head.

- I picked Mimikyu bc no one knows what they look like, they're kind of a doll and they're seen as creepy despite trying to be friendly

- Eevee bc it could turn into anything. Penny would find that exiting and it relates to Jane because no one knew who she was either

- In Elysium I think the lambs' parents would've used grass types to help grow weed. I picked sprigatito for that bc it looks the part

Constance Blackwood

- I used mostly fairy types because that the vibe she has. I was looking for ones based on desserts since her family runs a bakery

- Milcery bc they're created from sweet smells so I think there'd be a lot in Constance's family.

- Eevee because they're quite plain and seen as nice. During sugarcloud it would evolve into Sylveon because Constance is finally letting herself love things openly

- I used a flying type because of sugarcloud and for me spritzee fit the best

- Constance would be insecure about her fairy pokemon bc they were linked to the bakery so she'd probably keep them in their balls

Talia Bolinska

- We only ever see her in the field so she gets associated with flowers a lot. That's why I picked mostly grass & bug types

- I asked what Mischa would have and someone said he and Talia would get matching mienshao. I don't think it fits him but it does fit her so

- Electric type because we only really know about her through her online appearance

- Fighting types to connect her to Mischa more

Virgil the rat

- Virgil the rattata now. Alolan form bc it looks more like Virgil than the regular one

Ezra Lamb

- Doesn't really catch many pokemon. Not because I ran out of ideas but bc I just don't think he'd want to? He'd research the hell out of them but I doubt he'd want to look after them

- Sableye bc it pranks people and it has similar vibes. Idk if he'd have one but he'd definitely love them and tell Penny random facts he finds out ab them

Karnak

- can't own pokemon but I think he'd have Dialga painted on the side of the fortune box bc he sees the future

Members:

Perdita (aka Perdi)

Gender: Female

Species: Cyndaquil

Age: 16(?)

Details:

Perdita is a smart cookie, small and kinda chubby with large round glasses.

She is obsessed with all things pokemon biology, to a slightly insane degree.

Quick as a whip at rooting out weaknesses, and absolutely CRACKED at sentry duty.

She can be a little blunt dry and sarcastic, which is off-putting to some. She also has a slight ego that can make her stubborn at times, but she's deeply empathetic and will often look out for others even to her own detriment.

Can't produce flames from her back at first, so attacks are weak, thus she prefers to stick to throwing items such as thorns, seeds, and orbs. (When she has her glasses anyway, she's blind as hell without them)

Darius

Gender: Male

Age: 19

Species: Rowlet

Details:

Darius is a bit of a cynical young man, lean and prefers to stand tall, overall friendly but likely to hold a grudge.

He doesn't know much about Pokémon, but he's incredibly agile and aware of his environment at all times. Highly likely to fight head on.

He's a crack shot with his feather darts, as if he'd been doing it his whole life. If given a target he's more than likely to hit the mark straight on.

Cannot fly early on due to an injured wing, thus tends to stick to the ground and has to get good with his footwork.

HOW THEY MET

Two pokemon awoke side by side on the beach, soaked in saltwater.

A Cyndaquil and a Rowlet, strangers, gripping each other's hands as if for dear life.

The pair pull apart, confused as to who the other is and why they were holding onto them. Neither can give an answer.

They exchange names, Perdita and Darius. They're good names, they both like the others.

As they talk they discover something odd, they both share the exact same story.

Both seem to have amnesia, they can remember nothing beyond their own names before waking up here,

And, most oddly, they both recall being human prior to this, with no idea how they suddenly appeared as talking pokemon.

Tucked beneath one wing the Rowlet holds something close to himself, a stone, emblazoned with an odd pattern. It isn't familiar to either of them, but neither is anything anymore.

So that's all they have between them, two eerily similar stories and an odd chunk of rock.

Eventually, deciding they'd rather not sit in the cold salty air any longer, they stand and wander off until they reach the nearest building, which luckily isn't too far away.

A large imposing tent towered over them, with a large wooden grate fitted into the ground. Darius attempted to approach when a harsh voice BELLOWED up from beneath them, both fearing hostility and frightened for their lives they fled back to the beach.

They catch their breath and try to discuss what to do, when a pair of pokemon whom they hadn't noticed tailing them pounced, knocking them aside and swiping the stone fragment before making their getaway.

Panicked at the loss of their one potential link to the past, Perdita and Darius give chase, stumbling through the winding corridors of Beach Cave as they figure out their new bodies and capabilities.

(Perdita in particular struggles, she can't see clearly and is certain she must have had glasses but they're gone, resulting in the pair needing to hold hands again to stick together)

When they reach the end of the cave, they battle Zubat and Koffing and somehow come out on top, taking back the stone. Though even they admit they don't know what it is, or if it's even worth fighting for, but it's the one thing they have.

Upon leaving the cave they're quickly approached by another figure, speaking in the first friendly voice they've heard other than each other.

A Bidoof, a pleasant round faced little fellow who seemed to have been running after them. He explained that he'd seen them approach the Guild and then run away, he'd shouted but they'd been in such a panic they'd blasted right past him.

His eyes begin to sparkle as he asks if they just cleared that Mystery Dungeon by themselves, and if they were themselves an Exploration Team.

Perdita and Darius have no idea what to make of any of this. Guild? Mystery Dungeon? Exploration Team? What did any of those mean?

Bidoof, upon realizing, explains to them that Exploration Teams are groups who delve into Mystery Dungeons, like the cave they just cleared, in search of treasure and the mysteries of the world. He figures they'd make a good team! And (rather eagerly) insists if they had nowhere else to go then they should join the Guild!

With no other idea what to do, Perdita and Darius agree. They return to the tent and stand on the grate, this time bearing the shouting as their footprints are identified and they are granted access.

They descend below into the guild and register themselves, the name Team Galaxy comes so easily and somehow feels so fitting that neither object.

Before long they're laying on bundles of straw in a dark room, staring up at the ceiling.

They have no idea what to make of any of this, of why they washed up together, their memory loss, the strange relic they fought for, or what any of this Exploration business was.

But for now it seemed they had a roof over their heads, food, and a place to sleep. It only made sense to stick together, it was undeniable that in some way their pasts connected to bring them both here this way.

So if these Exploration Teams really did look into the mysteries of the world, then maybe they could help them find the cause of what brought them here, and the truth of their strange stone.

Perdita and Darius tell each other it's nice to meet them, and say goodnight, turning over to try and get some sleep.

Both conclude that there was nothing they could do but try their best tomorrow, and maybe, just maybe, things would start to make a little more sense.

I will forever be graceful that my mom talked me out of doing the gym run. Like, dude, you were 15, had your starter (who was still a weak rowlet) for 10 months and you really thought you could travel the region and get all the badges? I was a really delusional kid. My friends didn't enjoyed their summer vacation at all and the only one who got all the badges and became champion class was the one friend who had been preparing a team since middle school (3 years before getting our starters) and who's dad was a gym leader so she could stay at nice hotels instead of camping. When they told me all about it at the start of 11th grade I made sure to thank my mom for helping me dodge that bullet.

yeah, seeing kids go on actual journeys at this point is a pretty rare thing nowadays, and honestly i think it's for the best. the truth is, the vast majority of gym challengers don't win more than two badges; i think the most recent survey by the international pokemon league said that dropout rate is between 68-83% by the third gym depending on the region, and 89-92% by the fourth?

battling on a competitive level is such a rare occurrence, and most gym challengers will never get to that point. so the idea of disrupting such a formative time in your life for it really perplexes me. i think in some ways the concept of the pokemon league has gotten away from the original purpose of pokemon battling, which was to further the bond between trainer and pokemon. a lot of it's about winning competitions these days, so people start early to have the best shot. if less focus was put on beating gyms and entering tournaments, i think more people would wait, and it'd ultimately be better for them and their pokemon.

espurr - has a ton of psychic power they cant control, i feel like crystal would relate to, with her discovering her powers are more complicated than she thought

espeon - suggested by a couple of people on twitter!! espeons give off a mysterious and standoff-ish vibe thats similar to crystal

she was also the first one I drew and posted so she only has two pokemon Q_Q i want to give her more

Niko

shiinotic - i imagine niko found one of these bad boys while in the woods where she ran into the sprites. she's also got a mushroom themed green outfit in the time loop ep.

togetic - evolved from a togepi from high friendship, and i think friendship is what niko is all about. she has so much love to give! it feels fitting for her to have a friendship based pokemon!

whimsicott - they are mischievous prank loving annoying as hell pests of a pokemon (per their pokedex entries). i like them as representative of the sprites. someone said jumpluff instead but i disagree because jumpluffs aren't considered pests. i think edwin, charles, and crystal hate her whimsicott but niko loves to snuggle her <3

Charles

toxtricity - amped form cause that one gets natures similar to charles (If i had more time i would even map out the pokemon natures, abilities, and move sets they would each have. i played comp pokemon...) toxtricity is also music themed, and has know anger issues, so i think charles would relate to that

scraggy - scrappy little fighter!! also punk-ish. a little guy who gets bullied but will put up a fight. i think charles would love him and want to protect him.

hitmontop - little fighting dude. i like that hitmontop has steadfast ability (incr. speed after flinch), cause i interpret it as getting back up to keep on fighting and protecting those you love, even after getting your ass beat, which is how charles operates.

Edwin

rowlet - on god, this is purely cause of the bowtie. also i think rowlet would keep edwin company while he reads his books very late into the night.

mimikyu - a lonely pokemon who just wanted to be loved. HMMMM. edwin felt its pain and adopted it into his family.

sirfetch'd - suggested by some people on twitter, cause of the actor being a fencer. but also i think edwin would have a pokemon that would protect him, before he met charles.

polteageist - hes a fancy british boy. i know his ass drinks tea with the pinky out. i think he rescued the polteageist during one of their cases.

GOTCHA! [Prologue]

This is a Genshin Impact x Pokemon crossover. I'll be using an Original character for the main protagonist, instead of the usual X reader or Y/n prompt. But feel free to change her name to yours if you want.

"I know you don't like it that much, but I promise it'll only take a few minutes"

A woman wearing a lab coat reassured, petting the creature on the head. It only let out a small grunt, not at all looking forward to what was awaiting him later.

"Come on Mudbray, don't give me that look" She chuckled, finding the Pokemon's annoyance amusing.

"We both know that checkups are mandatory, and yes that includes dental"

She reminded, looking at her checklist as she counted all the Pokemon who were due for their Monthly check-ups. She lets a small flock of Pikipek land on her head and shoulders, curious to see what the Trainer was doing.

"I also need to give your homes a good spring cleaning" She said counting all the Pokeballs that were all safely secured together inside a container.

They were placed there temporarily for the night, She already got started cleaning some of their Habitats, so that once she's finished doing everyone's Checkups tomorrow morning they'll be free to go back to their freshly cleaned homes.

"It's only for one night, I'll even start with you and your friends first thing tomorrow. once I'm done you can eat as much mud as you want"

She says putting away the checklist once she realizes that all the Pokemon that she needed were already inside their respective pokeballs.

"Come on bud, please?" She pouted trying her best to give him the puppy dog eyes as she offered his pokeball to him.

Mudbray gave her a look of un-amusement, clearly not looking forward to another Dental check-up tomorrow.It was basically routine around here, they've done this plenty of times for years, but that doesn't mean he'll get used to it anytime soon.

"For me?"

Oh for the love of Arceus.

Mudbray only let out a defeated sigh before he carefully booped his snout against the ball's surface.

Causing the small device to open, surrounding the Pokemon with a familiar light before letting him inside.

The Trainer showed a small smile of gratitude, giving the round device a small kiss, before putting it with the others.

"Alright guys, it's time to go back"

She says turning to the flock of Pikipek, she approaches the door and slides it open, revealing a familiar Pokemon sanctuary on the other side.

She watches them bid her a goodnight before flying out of the building, which she made as her personal Pokemon center.

She double-checked everything to see if they were in order, she gave her checklist one last look before placing it down.

"Guess that's it" She muttered to herself, grabbing the container of Pokeballs she approached the exit only to stop mid-step, she chuckles as she looked over her shoulder.

"Wanna come with?"she asks staring at one of the curtains where a certain Pokemon was hiding.

A Rowlet, a new member of their big family flinches, peeking his head out of the curtains, letting out a sheepish Hoot before flying over to her.

she grinned letting him land on her shoulder before she proceeded to climb up the ladder that leads outside, the woman could be seen exiting out a maroon-colored backpack, leading to one of the cabins she rented out.

"I see that you guys are getting comfortable" She says, seeing her Team making themselves at home inside the room, some were laying on her bed.

some of them greeted her while some were already asleep.

Rowlet made himself known by flying around the room, greeting everyone excitedly, before deciding to settle himself on top of the headboard on the bed.

"Good to see you feeling better Rowlet" She giggles, placing the container of Pokeballs on her bedside table.

Rowlet is a new member of their family, Mavis found him two weeks ago, He got into a fight with a Bellsprout over a Berry and ended up getting poisoned. Mavis took him in and took care of him since then.

"Guess I should get ready for bed too"

She yawned, she stretched her arms, before grabbing her lab coat, wanting to change into her night wear before joining the other on the bed.

but before she could even take it off, she was interrupted by the ground shaking aggressively. She lets out a small shriek, grabbing a hold of a table to keep herself steady.

The rest of her team immediately perked up, sensing Danger as the ground continued to shake.

"What's Happening?!" She yells, glancing out the window to see frequent lights flashing in the distance.

She flinches when she hears an ear-piercing roar, forcing her to cover her ears in an attempt to not let her eardrums pop.

She tried to get a good look outside, but she couldn't focus, whatever was causing the Earthquake was too far away for her to see, she saw a few people running out of their Cabins to check out the commotion.

Mavis struggled to go to the door, wanting to check for herself but before she could grab the doorknob, she felt as if she was slowly sinking down.

She gasped, looking down to see the ground turning into this giant vortex that took up all the space in the room.

She could only watch as it began to suck in everything in the room, including herself and her Pokemon.

"No, no, no, Wait!" She cried out, panicking on what to do as her Team called out for her, only for each of them to get pulled into different directions.

she looks around, her heart dropping at the sight of the Container in the process of getting sucked in as well.

She grunts, using a table to boast herself towards it, she desperately reaches for it as it continued to float away.

She felt a spark of relief when she managed to get a hold of it, but it was immediately interrupted by Rowlet letting out a panicked cry, flying towards his Trainer, Tackling her just in time before the bed could hit her.

but in the process, she accidentally lets go of the Container.

"No!"

She shouted, watching as the container hit the bed's edge, forcing it open, spilling all the Pokeballs in different directions.

Mavis held into Rowlet, feeling herself get sucked into another smaller vortex.

That's the prologue done, it's only an introduction so far but it has important information on it, I'll make the actual chapters longer in the future.

rowlet my bb is no. 1 forever and ever, unbeatable, roumd, precious. i have nothing to say but [babytalking to animal sounds].

and honestly even without reviewing any other pokemon or thinking abt it in-depth, conkeldurr. it's conkeldurr. i hate that fucking thing. i dislike many a pokemon, i don't vibe w many of them. but conkeldurr Disgusts Me.

there are pokemon that i hate for phobia reasons and i just consider that separate from "i hate this thing bc it's hideous and awful" like i don't like malamar or ANY of the spider pokemon, but That's On Me. conkeldurr is entirely responsible for itself.
