Hello Basmathgirl!
I’m a bit embarrassed to ask, but are you the same Basmathgirl, who writes fanfics over on AO3 (e.g. Dancing with Dad)?
If you’re the AO3 author: Do you plan to write more fics in the future, especially stories including the fourteenth Doctor? + I looove your stories!!! <3
In any case I enjoy scrolling through your blog, even if you don’t write fanfics ;)
Hello kind Anon
Nah, there's no need to be embarrassed when asking me questions (I'm used to that: people not knowing).
I can happily confirm that I am indeed Basmathgirl who writes fanfic; not that tumblr acknowledges that with a suitable badge, but hey ho.
Oooh, thank you for loving my stories! There are definitley more fics in the planning stages; and I hope to include the Fourteenth Doctor at some point - I'm wrestling with 3 Tenth Doctor ones at the moment, pushing them to get finished.
Then again, my muse might insist that I write a Fourteenth Doctor fic right this second. You just never know. Perhaps I ought to try a drabble and/or 15 minute writing exercise again? Worth a try, surely.

I usually post about Odd Squad on my main but it's cluttered with other stuff that happened today, so I present a beautiful story in two images:

I adore the idea of Arthur & Eames knowing each other from when they were young(er) & in the military cos I LOVE the idea of them seeing the evolution of the other over the years. It also makes me think... what did eames think of the The Very Tragic Death of Arthur’s Long, Curly Hair? Cos you KNOW after the military A grew it out long as maybe an act of rebellion but then he got sick of being treated/seen as a college kid so cue the slicked back hair. Anyway. I imagine eames being devastated.
I raise you this: what if Eames was the executioner in The Very Tragic Death of Arthur’s Long, Curly Hair? What if, before their first job out of the military together, the day before they meet their team, Arthur went to Eames last minute and asked him to cut his hair for him? To help him look more professional?
What if Eames hesitated because this is a terrible thing that Arthur could ask of him, but after some Arthurian pleading (Arthur huffing and shoving a pair of shears in Eames face and telling him to get the fuck on with it), eventually agreed because it's Arthur and he is asking something of Eames and how could he say no, how could he not even try. Moment number three that Eames realises he is wrapped tightly around Arthurs finger. It grows back, he tells himself. So he does it, snip after snip, cutting back the excess, expecting them both to regret this. Maybe Eames shows Arthur how to slick back his trimmed tresses the way he does it himself to help make him look older, maybe he gives him his first tin of pomade straight from Eames own toiletries.
Maybe Arthur looks different - not bad, but different. Maybe he turns up the next day, hair slicked back and Eames isn't a fan of the difference at first, missing the way Arthur's hair would fall over his face, how he'd tuck it behind his ears, run his fingers through it in frustration - these little things were part of the fabric of the Arthur that Eames knows. But he grows to love it. Because while everyone else sees Arthur with his professional appearance Eames knows exactly what he looks like underneath all that. He knows a different Arthur. He knows better.

hello everyone!! i just wanted to do a quick survey since i'm writing and really want to know everyone's opinion on something since i've seen people do it and wanted to gauge opinions
okay!! so imagine this odd squad wise, with the characters as is, no aging up, as canon
if you could reply/reblog with reasons for your choice, that'd be greatly appreciated!
