Very disappointed to see Jacob, Delainey, and Assad didn't get nominated. They all put in hard work this season and gave top notch performances. It's just very disheartening to see that they were snubbed. I'm still holding out hope though that Jacob and Delainey can secure those Golden Globes nominations. Golden Globes please don't let me down.

Regardless, I do want to say congrats to all the amazing people who are behind making the show. From the writers to the actors to the sound guys to the interns. They are all so important and have truly helped make such a phenomenal piece of media and I was very excited to see that the show has been nominated! It's about time critics start giving IWTV the recognition it deserves.

She/they pronouns, an introvert disguised as an extrovert I think. I can be super outgoing, but it drains me, and my idea of a fun time is definitely sitting at home with my favorite coloring app and Law&Order: SVU. I usually have music playing at any given time, and my top artists are Hozier and Sleep Token. I wear a lot of leggings and hoodies and depending on how cool I wanna look I’m either in my Birks or Docs lol. When I’m not being a homebody, I like bookstores, dungeons and dragons, and concerts. Oh, and I don’t want kids, like, at all. So my partner has to be okay with that.

My favorite tropes are friends to lovers and Coffeeshop AUs (also a big fan of Only One Bed cause who isn’t?)

I like guys taller than me (not hard since I’m 5’2” lol) who have a darker aesthetic. Gotta be smart, usually very serious on the outside with a goofy side that not everyone sees. I admire people with hobbies, something they’re really passionate about.

My favorites from wbk are hiragi (obviously), ume, togame, and arima, and my faves from Tokyo rev are akkun, takemichi, mitsuya, and kisaki.

I don’t really have any characters that I loathe from either fandom, though I can’t see myself ever being with someone who’s, like, super crazy peppy and outgoing all the time.

Satoru Nii and me are besties we literally just got off the phone and he was like “Yeah ofc RagiMel is canon.” I just think you guys are such a good match for eachother. I am a firm supporter of things are boring if you are the exact same personality wise and I feel like your differences and similarities attract you to one another.

⤜♡→ Hiragi would much rather sit at home with you, his head perched on your lap as you explain the plot to one of your shows to him. Is he a little worried you’d be able to dispose of his boy too well with the amount of Law and Order episodes you both have binged? Sure. But its always nice to keep them on their toes, yk?

⤜♡→ Hiragi was the first to confess, but he took his sweet time doing it, poor man was so nervous. He was more than ready to take out Umemiya for not so subtly pointing out his (very obvious) crush on you. I feel like he isn’t the best at hiding his feelings. Being openly stern and even aggressive with the others but always kind and gentle when it came to you. His favoritism was just so blatantly obvious.

⤜♡→ This may be a hot take but I feel like Hiragi is more than okay with not having kids. I know a lot of people look at him and are like “ahh, yeah he’s totally a guy who wants a family.” But hear me out here. Hiragi has had his fair share of being an older brother almost fatherly figure to those like Sako, Kaji, and Sakura. He’s done his fair share and he is more than happy to just spend the rest of his life loving you and maybe even getting a pet or two. Your love is more than enough for him. You and Bofurin are his family, and that’s all he could ever ask for.

He pulls over into a clearing putting the car in park, getting out to properly set up the bed of the truck with pillows and blankets, humming to himself. He approaches our door after a moment opening it and offering you his hand, helping you out of the vehicle and walking you to the back. Grinning he allows his large hands to cup your waist, leaning down to slot his lips against yours. It didn’t matter how long you had both been together, every time kissing Hiragi felt like the first time. The all-encompassing love he slipped into every kiss still had you weak in the knees. Pulling away from you, he looks into your eyes, his own soft and lidded with adoration. Pressing his forehead against your own, his breaths fanning your face as he speaks. “I love you darling, more than you could ever possibly know.” With one more love-stricken smile he lifts you, helping you into the bed of the truck. Climbing in after you he settles you both against the blankets, lying down next to you.

He hums in contentment as you lie your head against his chest. He had taken you here many times before, the calm of the area where you could both just enjoy each others presence while looking up at the night sky, gazing at the array of stars. He craved these moments with you, where it was just the two of you, where nothing else mattered but holding you in his arms. He smiles, arms squeezing you tightly to him, smile adorning his features. One hand carding his fingers through your hair. “We haven’t been able to come here in a while, we have so many good memories here.” He hums, pulling you closer to him, recalling the very first time he brought you here. “This is where I told you I loved you for the first time, remember?”

His heart soars when he hears you laugh, recalling the memory, him taking his medicine to qualm his aching stomach from nerves. The way he felt as if his face would melt with the heat from his red cheeks. His words came out nervously, surging in to capture your lips with his own when you reciprocated his confession. His teeth clashing with your own in the kiss, so much so that he had punctured your lip. “How could I forget?” Your voice pulled him from his thoughts, his smile aimed at you once more. As he felt the weight of the velvet box that weighed down his pocket, he just hoped you could make yet another memory in your special place.

Summary: Olivia Williams is Formula One royalty. Her father is a racing legend and all Liv wants is to be one of only six women in the world to have raced in the most elite racing division in the world. “Olivia?” 

Bucky continued to try and reach her as he watched the rescue vehicles and track officials head to her car.  

Andy came running over.  “Have you reached her?” 

“Negative. Olivia? Can you hear me?” 

Sam ducked his head. “Rogers is about to approach the scene.”  

“Fuck.  Ok. Just keep him calm,” Andy said. “I’ll jump on it as soon as we know.”  

The ambulance and officials worked to get Liv out of the car.  They carried her to a gurney and Andy called directly to the officials.  

“What the fuck?” Bucky can hear Steve over his radio.  “Is she ok?” 

“We don’t know yet Steve,” Sam says.  

Andy paces back and forth as he waits for an update. His mind raced, not sure how he would explain what happened to Liv’s family when he heard a crackle on the other line.  

“Mr. Barber?” 

“Yes?” 

“She’s moving, she was unconscious when we got her out.  She’s awake now and responding to commands.  We’ll be transporting her to hospital.” 

“Thank you.  I’ll see you at the hospital.”  Andy hung up and ran with Bucky and Frank to head to the hospital.  Sam jumped on the radio to Steve.  

“Steve, she’s moving.  They are taking her to the hospital.  The yellow ends in two laps and we have five to go.”  

Steve gritted his teeth. “Copy.”  

“Breathe Steve.  She’s going to be ok.  Let’s finish and we can head to the hospital.���  

“Copy.”  

Steve tried to concentrate but his mind is racing with thoughts of Olivia.  He had been avoiding her, hurt by what he had heard.  But he found it curious that Mercedes hadn’t announced her new contract.  The race came to a close, with him winning.  He just went through the motions until he got to his trailer and saw Suzanne there.  He rolled his eyes and tried walking past her.  

“Stevie, baby, congrats on the win. You wanna…” 

“What did I tell you last time? I don’t want you.”  

She pouted.  “I thought you were just saying that.”  

24 hours earlier… 

Steve was in the garage, avoiding everyone, reviewing the qualifying tape. He saw that Liv had done well in qualifying but would start last due to an engine problem.  He sighed, leaning back on the stool. He was being stupid. He should have just talked to Livie but his stubbornness got the better of him.  

“You look like you could use a friend.” A blonde approached him in a tight white polo and a rather short leather skirt.  

“Not really.  Just needed some perspective.  Can I help you?” 

“I’m Suzanne.”  

“Nice to meet you, Suzanne.  What are you doing down here?” 

“I’m interning and I was just getting to know how a garage is set up.”  

“Well,” he looked at the polo to see the Mercedes logo, “you must be lost because this isn’t Mercedes.”  

“Oh, I know.  I just saw an incredibly handsome man looking kinda sad and I wanted to see if I could help.” She slid into the space between his legs and wrapped her arms around his neck.  

“No, seriously, I’m ok.”  He went to push the girl off, but she pulled him towards her and planted a deep kiss on him.  He lost himself for a moment before realizing that this girl was not his Olivia.  He stood up and pushed away.  “Sorry, but you need to leave.”  

“But…” 

“I’m in love with someone and I can’t do this. Leave or I’ll call security.”  

Suzanne huffed as she walked out of the garage.  Steve runs his hands over his face but heads out.  He needed to talk to Olivia.  

“I wasn’t just saying that.  Sorry but I’m not interested.  Excuse me.”  He left a raging Suzanne and headed to the car to get taken to the hospital.  

As the team paced in the waiting room, Steve and Sam showed.  “How is she?” 

“Waiting on the doctors,” Bucky explained, a flicker of anger crossing his face.  “We watched the replay.  She was clipped from behind by Drysdale.”  

“Son of a bitch,” Steve growled. “I hope the FIA is investigating.  That is twice.” 

“And why do you care Rogers?” Frank asked.  “Liv told us you’ve been avoiding her so why the hell are you here?”  

Steve went to reply but the door opened.  “For Olivia Williams?”  

Andy stood up, “Yes?” 

“She’s conscious. Alert and moving all of her limbs.  She has a grade 2 concussion which we will monitor but no other serious injuries.  She’ll be sore for a while but once she passes concussion protocols, we can clear her to race again.  She’s asking for you.”  

“Thank you, Doctor.” Andy walked towards him to follow but turned back to his team. “I don’t want you guys fighting. Rogers, if you have a problem with Liv again…” 

“I don’t. I just needed to deal with some stuff.”  

“Fine. Let me check on her and then go on from there.” Andy walked back to the room where he found Liv with her eyes closed and the light turned down.  “Hey Bug.”  

Her eyes sprang open, and she smiled.  “Hey boss.”  

Andy sighed in relief.  He leaned over and kissed her forehead.  “You scared me to death Liv. How are you feeling?” 

“Like I was in a car wreck.”  She shifted on the bed and groaned.  “What happened?” 

“From the video, it looks like you were aiming to avoid the water and stepped out of the racing line but Drysdale was running on intermediates still and tapped you, trying to get to water. The nose of the car went into the water, spinning you and then you clipped the grass, which caused you to flip.”  

“Jesus, just hearing that hurts my head.” Liv sighed. “Everyone here?” 

Andy nodded.  “Steve and Sam just got here.  Is everything…” 

“Everything is fine Andy.  Have you talk to my mum?” 

“Yeah, she ripped into me. She’s worried. She’s on her way with your sister.”  

“God. I’d rather be unconscious.”  

“Not funny.” Andy looked at his phone.  “The rest of team is chomping at the bit to see you. Ready?” 

“Sure.” Andy kissed her head one more time before he left and a few moments later, Frank and Buck came in. She visits with everyone but soon grows tired and falls asleep before Steve can make it into the room.  

He watches her sleep, her face serene and he knows that he is really and truly in love with this woman. She was perfect and he was an idiot.  He sat next to her, brushing away a strand of hair. “I’m sorry Liv.” He kissed her forehead and left.  

His mind was everywhere.  I’m not good enough for her, he thought to himself.  She’s going to leave and go on to be better. And I’m just holding her back.  He headed back to the hotel to pack for the series break.  Three weeks, two of which he would be home visiting his mother.  

Liv woke up the next day, still with a headache but with more heartache than before. Steve hadn’t visited her or left her anything.  She stared out the window until the door opened and she saw her mother and sister in the doorway.  “Livie,” her mother breathed.  

“Hi Mama.” Annabeth swept her daughter into her arms, hugging her tight. Jenny came in right after, holding her baby sister.  Andy walked in and almost turned around when Annabeth saw him.  

“Andrew Steven Barber, you get back in here now!” Andy froze and turned to Annabeth.  

“Hi Annie, Jenny.”  He approached Liv’s bed to kiss her forehead.  “How you feeling Bug?” 

“Better. Just sore. About to have a headache.”  She nodded towards her mother. Andy sighed as he heard Annabeth took in a deep breath.  

“Olivia Elizabeth Williams what were you thinking?! I told you that this was dangerous.  And Andrew, why would you put her on slicks when there was still water on the track? I mean...” 

“MUM!” Annabeth stopped and looked at her daughter. “It wasn’t his fault; it wasn’t my fault.  I got tagged from behind. It was an accident.  I am fine, that’s the important part.”  

Annabeth eyes watered.  “My baby.  I was so scared when you flipped.”  She cried into her daughter’s shoulder as she held her.  

“I’m fine Mama, please relax.”  She looked at her sister who pulled their mother away.  

“Mama, its ok.  These cars are very safe now.  I mean it’s a concussion, right?” She looked at Andy, who nodded. “Frankie said that the car protected her, but these things happen.”  

Ransom stood around the corner, out of sight as he listened in on the conversation. “Look, mama, if Ransom hadn’t tagged her...” 

“She’s right Annie, it was an accident. The FIA is already investigating it and we’ll get it taken care of.” 

Annabeth looked at her daughter.  “I don’t want you to race anymore.”  

“What? Why?” 

“I just lost your father, and I can’t lose you too.”  This made Ransom smile. He wanted her gone since she wouldn’t go back to him, she couldn’t stay.  

“Annabeth, be reasonable.” Andy looked at Liv’s crumpled face and her mother’s determination.  “This isn’t what David would have wanted.  He would have wanted her to get back up, dust herself off and keep going.  Holding her back isn’t going to help anything.”  

“Mama,” Liv took her mother’s hand.  “I know, I know I’m your miracle, but Papa would have wanted me to keep racing.  We are doing it safe.  Bucky makes me stretch before I get in the car, Frankie double checks everything, Tony is all over the electronics.  Please Mama, trust me.  I want to finish the season.  I want to know that I can do this.  And if I stay in F1, then I stay.  But if I leave, I’m just telling the world that another woman failed. I can’t do that.”  

“Livie...” 

“Mama, I’m a Williams.  And we don’t quit.  We fight, we overcome, and we win.” 

Great news coming out of Formula One that Olivia Williams, driver for Red Bull has been released from the hospital one day after her horrifying crash in France.  She is said to have a concussion and bruising but has cleared the first set of tests of the concussion protocol.  She will be released before being allowed back into the car.  

The FIA has also investigated the crash and found the Ransom Drysdale, the lead Mercedes driver, was at fault for causing the accident.  The team was fined, and Drysdale will be docked starting positions at Spa and lose any points earned for France.  This would be his second accident caused after he tagged James Barnes during the opener.  Mercedes should really be looking at Drysdale and see if he is worth keeping on after his dishonorable actions.  

Liv sat at the doctor’s office with Jenny and Natasha, her best friend, two weeks later.  Sitting on the exam table, she sighed loudly.  The Belgium Grand Prix was a week away and she just wanted to start getting prepared for it.  The doctor came in.  “Miss Williams, good news.  I will clear you today from the protocol.”  

“Yes.  Thank you.”  She shook the doctor’s hand and left.  Nat decided to have lunch with the Williams sisters.  

“So Liv, seeing any of the drivers?” Nat sipped on her wine.  

“Not really.” Liv pushed her salad around.  

“Not really? What does that mean?” Jenny studied her sister. 

“Well, I started to get really close to someone and I don’t know what happened.  He stopped talking to me and then I saw him making out with some moto-ho and I just...” 

“Oh Liv. Babe, if he thought that was ok then he wasn’t right for you.” Nat patted her hand. “Just glad you weren’t hooking back up with Ransom.”  

“After what that asshole did to me, not a chance,” Olivia scoffed. “No, I think I’ll just stick to racing with the boys instead of dating them.”  

“What about Bucky?” Jenny asked.  “He’s not a driver.”  

“But he will be next year. Besides, Bucky doesn’t see me like that.”  

“And that is where you are wrong dear sister.” Jenny smiled at her. “You didn’t see him in the hospital.  According to Frankie, he was beside himself when you were hurt and refused to leave after you feel asleep.” He was there this morning and left before you woke up.  

“He did?” Liv’s mind was swimming. She hadn’t thought of Bucky like that before.  As someone who was more than just her crew chief.  But she shook her head.   “No, that’s my chief.  It would never work.  I’m just going to get through this season and then figure out life after.”  

But her thoughts remained on Bucky.  And Steve. And she was confused. Very, very confused.

1. Idk how I missed your follow celebration but i hope not too late!! It’s the 29th where I am! First of all congratulations on the follow count! Second can I please request a ship request and a bestie request? I’m bisexual so either gender is fine! Here we go:

You get a bit bashful because it's just a rough sketch and the dimensions are all off and tbh it was really just a warmup but Rey falls in love with it and it warms your heart so much you give it to her. She scrimps and saves money to get it properly matted and framed and she just adores it. Also, pls get this girl some healthy emotional relationships she would just flourish on Naboo. The water!! The greenery!! It's warm enough for you both but it's not a desert! HUGE plus. The war ends and Rey just wants to come home with you, to a peaceful place where she doesn't feel weighed down by her past and her powers and her responsibility. She wants a place where her friends came come and go and enjoy being there. She loves that her friends can become your friends. But the both of you also get overwhelmed with too much social interaction, and quiet nights in together, ones where Rey sits and tinkers with some mechanical bits and bobs. Ones where you've ordered takeout and you're sitting working on a new piece of art or reading Space-Dracula with Space-Ella Fitzgerald playing quietly in the background. Peaceful nights. "I call dibs on the single!" Dean shouted upon entering the motel room, plopping himself onto the bed in a starfish position.

"And why exactly do you get the single bed?" Y/N sassed, one hand on her hip.

"Because I'm the oldest and because I said so," he grinned cheekily.

"Well, then who gets the double?" she asked.

"Easy. You guys can share."

Y/N rolled her eyes, but reluctantly walked over to the bed and threw her bag down. She considered that it wasn't the first time they'd had to share a bed, in fact, they'd had to do it multiple times in college.

Sam seemed hesitant, but then again, she'd just chalked it up to him being a gentleman. Though she wondered sometimes if it was because he felt as nervous around her as she did around him, she'd pretty much convinced herself that he'd never feel the same way she did.

"I can take the couch," Sam offered.

Almost too quickly, Y/N blurted out, "No, Sam, the bed is big enough for both of us."

He silently nodded, walking over to the bed and placing his bag down as well.

"I call dibs on the shower," they spoke in sync, both looking through their overnight bags at the same time.

"You can go first," Y/N said, looking up at him.

"No, it's OK, you go," he insisted.

"Suit yourself."

And with that, Y/N took off for the bathroom, toiletries and pajamas in hand.

As Sam continued to unpack his things, he felt a certain set of green eyes looking at him. "What, Dean?"

"You might as well share the shower too, Sammy," he giggled from his own bed.

After successfully throwing and hitting Dean with one of the pillows on the bed, Sam sighed, "Of all people, why did I have to get stuck with you?"

"You think you got it bad? I have to sit here and watch you to subconsciously flirt with each other while thinking the other person hates you," Dean commented. "And that is very painful."

"Shh, she can probably hear us," Sam whispered.

"Just tell her!"

"Yeah, when pigs fly."

A couple hours had passed and Dean was sound asleep in his own bed. Y/N and Sam had stayed up doing research on the current creature they were hunting, but eventually decided to get some sleep themselves.

Originally, the two had been lying as far apart as they could without rolling off the bed, but as soon as Sam fell asleep, Y/N quickly learned he was a cuddler.

At one point, he'd even had his arm thrown over her stomach, but Y/N managed to wiggle away, for fear of him waking up like that.

She lay awake, staring at the ceiling and wondering how in the world those two could fall asleep so quickly. She felt like she'd been staring at the ceiling and counting sheep for hours.

"It feels so nice to hold you," was what broke her from her thoughts.

She blinked a few times, trying to process the words Sam had just mumbled in his sleep. She played it off, assuming he'd been dreaming about someone else, anyone but herself.

"It feels really nice to hold you," he mumbled again, almost like he was making sure she heard him that time.

"You too," she whispered back, though she didn't know if he'd heard her or not since he never replied.

Finally having settled into his touch again, Y/N convinced herself that cuddling with Sam wasn't so bad, and the thought of that was enough to finally send her to sleep.

"Rise and shine, ladies and gents," Dean greeted them the next morning.

Immediately upon stirring awake, Y/N realized it was now her arm over Sam's stomach. As quickly as she could, she rolled away, embarrassed that Dean had found her like that.

"What time is it?" she complained, smashing her pillow over her head to hide her eyes from the sun.

"Like 9:00," he laughed. "I'm gonna go get some brekky so I'll be back in a few," he said before heading out the door.

Y/N attempted to roll out of bed, but was stopped by a strong arm being thrown around her hips and pulling her back in.

"Sam-"

"Mmm, five more minutes," he groaned.

With a sigh, Y/N answered, "Fine, but only five. Dean's gonna kill us if we sleep all day again."

"Hey, last time was his fault," Sam mumbled, followed by a yawn, "He shouldn't have taken us out for all-you-can-drink tequila."

Y/N quietly giggled at his words, settling back into his embrace.

The two lay in silence, enjoying the other's company more than they'd ever know. Y/N noted that Sam still somehow smelled like his aftershave, though it had been at least twelve hours since he'd applied it. Meanwhile, Sam observed that Y/N's hair smelled strongly of her vanilla shampoo, one of his favorite scents he'd ever inhaled.

Suddenly, Y/N found herself blabbing, "You know, you're unbelievably cute when you're tired." Immediately, she covered her mouth with her hand, unsure how she'd let that slip. She found herself trying to cover it up by saying, "I mean, cute in a puppy way. I'd never watch you sleep if you were cute in a human way. You're cute like a German Shepherd," she continued, "Oh no, this is way worse. I'm gonna stop talking."

"Well," Sam started as he awkwardly scratched the back of his neck, "I think you're really cute when you're tired too."

Y/N's eyes lit up when she processed his sentence. "Really?"

"Like a German Shepherd," he nodded bashfully. "Unless…"

"Unless what?" she asked.

"Unless you want me to mean it less German Shepherd-y," he chuckled, still scratching at his neck.

"I'd like that a lot actually."

The two looked away from each other, not knowing they were feeling the exact same butterflies floating around in their respective tummies. Y/N felt the sudden urge to lean over and kiss him, but for fear of embarrassment, she held back. Unbeknownst to her, Sam was thinking the same thing, but he also held himself back.

"Would you two man up and kiss each other already?!" Dean grumbled.

Y/N jumped back, nearly going through the headboard. "Dean, you scared me."

"When did you get back anyway?" Sam asked, nearly under his breath.

"Long enough to know that you two are clearly experiencing some sexual tension."

Sam rolled his eyes at his brother's statement before looking back over to Y/N.

"Well?"

"Well what?" Sam chuckled at her question.

"Aren't you gonna kiss me?"

"I thought you'd never ask."

Y/N felt a thousand fireworks go off around her when Sam lips collided with hers. She felt a tinge of embarrassment when she remembered she hadn't brushed her teeth yet, but the feelings ignited by the fact that her best friend was finally kissing her was enough to outweigh it.

Sam knew it was cheesy to say, but he too felt sparks flying when their lips connected. Sam had kissed a few girls in his lifetime, but he knew one thing after kissing Y/N: she was the only one he ever wanted to kiss again.

"Took you long enough, Sammy," Dean chuckled once the pair finally parted.

"I agree," Sam and Y/N giggled in sync.

"Hey, I just have one question," Dean started.

"What's that?" Sam replied, his eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

there's something about cobra kai's attitude towards parents/parenting, where parents fit into five roles as I see it atm:

AN ACTUAL PARENT: A character that you see onscreen more than once that directly impacts their biological offspring's character development on multiple occasions/across longer arcs (Daniel & Johnny)

ALLEGEDLY AN ACTUAL PARENT: the women who are around enough that you know they ought to be an influence on their kids and it's easy to read what that influence could be, but we don't get to see that much or any of that influence directly onscreen (Shannon, Amanda, Carmen). All the women on that list are in/have been in relationships with Johnny or Daniel

WHATSTHEIRNAME: a parent whom you see in one or two scenes that's just there to push a plot moment or character introduction forwards, and otherwise doesn't really factor into the kids' stories/growth (Eli/Hawk's mom, Kenny's dad, Aisha's mom, Sid) or a parent who is only mentioned (Kenny's mom, Eli/Hawk's other parent, Aisha's dad, Kyler's dad, Terry's parents, Kreese's mom, Daniel's dad, Johnny's bio dad)

MORE WOMEN: A parent who is factored just enough that you know there's potentially something to explore there, but it's not in the foreground to the point that you have to invent the dynamic based on tiiiny scraps of information (Laura, Tory's mom, Shannon again, arguably Rosa in both a parent and a grandparent role) or Lucille, who has built-in Emotions because we've seen her since the karate kid, but if you didn't watch those movies wouldn't feel as emotionally tethered to the story or Daniel, in the same way as, say, Miyagi does

YOU'RE NOT MY REAL MOM/DAD: and then there's "we know that narratively these are their parents, even though that's not how real life works" which is where you find most of the Focus of parenting stories going on: the OG one ofc was Miyagi for Daniel, and then there's Kreese for Johnny (and possibly for Tory), Daniel for Robby, Johnny for Miguel, (possibly Amanda for Tory in s5? they've lain the groundwork, c'mon one woman -- there were also strong hints of Amanda and Robby) -- does it matter that they're not biologically related? No. Does it matter that they may only have met a brief time before the decision to mentally adopt this kid? No. Congrats kid, you know have a bunch of new parents

It's interesting because there are certain kids that narratively do not have parents, even if they.... technically have parents (whether through having literally seen a parent, heard of a parent, or just because the assumption is There Is A Parent Even If We Never Hear Of Them)

There is a difference in how Johnny and Daniel treat Miguel and Robby, to how they treat Tory or Eli (Demetri briefly feels like a third sibling to Sam and Robby, but not after season 2 -- also see: any of the secondary characters at their dojos, who are simply students, even if some are shown to get on well with their senseis, like Devon and Johnny). In a narrative that's very driven by intergenerational parent-based conflict, there are some teen characters who aren't related to that conflict at all, and it's not necessarily a bad thing, it just makes them seem like karate orphans in an odd way, because the world is built on a different set of rules than ours is and your karate parent is just as much -- if not more -- your parent as whoever packs your school lunches

TL;DR: if you don't have a karate parent, then you're basically an orphan on this show

Hon mentions: the parents who show up at the school to trash the LaRussos for the school fight, and parents who come to karate tournaments, but otherwise may as well not exist

Also: I didn't mention Terry because so far he hasn't exhibited a parental bone in his body, which brings up the odd difference in his relationship with Daniel in comparison to all other karate mentor/mentee relationships, which was at least as informative as any parental influence, but uh... definitely not of that vibe....

I also wonder if Terry will become The Worst Parent Ever to Kenny and/or Tory (and then ofc there's Kim Da-Eun....)
