Just imagine for a second. Cas and Dean working a case together near Fort Collins and Cas dragging Dean to the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. Dean doesn’t want to go there, because museums are boring, except maybe the part with the dinosaurs. Dinosaurs are kinda cool, otherwise there’s no point in visiting a natural history museum, but since Cas wants to, well, they go anyway.

They do the tour around the parts where all the rocks are exposed. Cas is amazed by all of them, by their shapes and colors. He sees that Dean is not as interested as he is, even when Cas tells him where the rocks come from.

“I remember. This one was formed during the splitting of the continents, precisely between Europe and Africa. It was slow if you look at it from the human perspective but it’s actually fascinating.” Dean nods here and there, but Cas knows how to get his attention. "Look, Dean. The color of that quartz, it's beautiful." He starts, bending a little over the glass case protecting the rocks, pointing at the bright green one in front of him.

"Yeah, yeah." Dean answers, quickly glancing at the object of Cas's amazement, but really, he doesn’t want to look at pebbles right now, he would have preferred to go watch a movie or grab a bite at the diner they saw on their way to the museum instead.

"The green here is almost as beautiful as the one in your eyes." Cas states, his fingers brushing along Dean's arm tenderly. Dean looks at him suddenly with wide eyes, his cheeks start to tint a little. "And this pink is almost as intense as the one appearing on your cheeks right now." Cas smiles proudly, pointing at a pinkish rock next to the green one, and kisses Dean's cheek as he intertwines their fingers.

He stops near Dean’s ear, his lips brushing it, his other hand cupping Dean’s jaw. “Maybe we can visit the bathroom later.” He whispers then he drags by the hand a speechless and flustered Dean behind him to continue the tour.

I think the reason jensen “can’t win” when it comes to destiel is his own fault. Like people are justified to be a little weary of jensen comments on destiel because of his past comments and remarks. Obviously it was a while ago but you can’t expect people to take what you say in good faith when you never had any before

not to be an asshole but this sounds like a bit of a skill issue. if you think one or two comments made years ago hold more weight than everything he's said and done in the time since, then i don't know what to tell you. i'm certainly not going to tell you that you have to get over something that hurt you (and i really do get why people are hurt by some of the things he's said and i'm not going to defend those things), but i am going to say that if you sincerely can't get past it, then you might need to move on from supernatural in general, because it doesn't seem like you're having any fun now and it seems unlikely that you will have any in the future.

because here's the thing: i do think you can expect people to take what you say in good faith when you've been acting in good faith for years now.

and he has been! he's been doing things like talking about how the more affectionate and/or emotional ways he plays dean specifically with cas get cut, talking with glee about the handprint, sending reaction videos to the confession back and forth between him and misha, liking tweets related specifically to the confession, complimenting misha's performance, calling dean's monologue in the trap his "confession," wanting to have the confession in despair filmed on his phone, being most excited for dean's storyline with cas in the last season, saying that dean should have told cas he loved him too, saying dean's biggest regret is that he couldn't save cas, creating a production company with a mission statement about diversity and then actually delivering on that, talking positively about a destiel reunion and how he wants to see that, the bajillion reports about how happy he is to sign destiel/queer dean fanart and do destiel/queer dean photo ops, etc.

the fact that he's even expressly acknowledged that he didn't handle everything perfectly in the past and is clearly trying to do better.

like, at a certain point if you are not taking what he says in good faith, it actually is on you. it's a choice you've made.

I honestly don’t understand the whole “it’s just a joke”, “that’s how guys talk” like no?

First of all that’s a lame fucking excuse for his behavior. Just because you’re a fan doesn’t mean you have to protect every fucked up thing he says.

Let’s be honest non of us know them personally, we see what’s online and hear what’s said. So pretending like you know them, saying “he’s a good guy” and defending him like you do is embarrassing.

I use to be a fan of Misha. Well, more like I use to respect him as an actor and I enjoyed him in SPN. This year I had the privilege to meet him at a con. I say privilege because I know that many can’t afford to or haven’t had the opportunity.

It was so awkward, he clearly didn’t want to be there. Everything he said during his q&a catered to the audience. It was over all very fake, I still can’t understand how people feed into the stuff he says.

It really put a bad taste in my mouth. I’ve never been his biggest fan, just thought that it would be fun to meet someone, from the tv show the show I’ve loved for years. That being said if I could go back, I’d save my money instead of wasting it.

I’m not saying he wasn’t nice to me, I did have a longer interaction than others that had been in line. But as someone who hasn’t ever been an obsessive fan, I think it might have been easier not feeding into all the crap he says.

People forget that he gets paid to do this stuff. The reason why he’s a fan favorite is because of destiel. So ofc he’s going to milk it, since that’s the only thing he has to talk about.

All the questions were destiel related, he has nothing else to say about the show. Honestly I don’t think he remembers anything that happened in the show, except from all of the scenes where he can confirm that destiel is canon.

Anyway after that con I watched a few videos of other panels online, because Jensen and Jared didn’t attend the one I went to. And I have to say I agree with a lot of the things you’ve posted.

It’s clear that he tries hard to push Jared out of the picture, he forces this idea of being besties with Jensen at cons. It’s always so awkward watching them together. Most of the time Jensen just goes along with stuff Misha says, so he doesn’t have to answer the same questions about destiel being canon or not.

Jensen obviously takes his acting seriously, he played Dean for 15 years. So I don’t get when he says over and over again, that destiel isn’t a thing. That people can’t accept it and move on. I love Dean, but I’m not going to pretend I know him better than Jensen. He WAS Dean. He knows him inside and out.

Then we have Misha that eggs the fans on during these panels. It’s like Jensen tries to answer the question seriously. Then Misha swoops in makes a small joke out of it, like Jensen has no idea what he’s talking about and proceeds to talk over him. Giving them the answer they want to hear.

It even feels like he’s making fun of the fans at times, knowing that they feed into this crap and thinking it’s funny that they do.

Gives me the same vibes of Regina George saying “I love that bracelet where did you get it”. Then going back to the green room and making fun of it.

I mean he’s made fun of the show and fans before, there are literally videos or posts online.

ALSO!!! The whole thing Jensen said about it not being subtext it was clear text, has been so fucking twisted.

This has turned into more of a rant, sorry. But what I mean to say is I agree with a lot of the things you’ve said. I just don’t understand how people can’t see it? It’s so frustrating.

Hi Anon! Saw your other message, and yeah, I don't blame you there, but you are good, so here we go. Thank you for the message btw. Very refreshing after my last few that's for sure.

I will start by saying that I have never seen a group of people so willing to turn a blind eye to the numerous inappropriate things their fave does/says as the hellers/Misha Stans. Their mantra in life is "oh, it was just a joke". I mean, they have to say it constantly because Misha can't stop being inappropriate. He kinda has to though doesn't he? Otherwise, he couldn't keep them entertained and he'd float on off into obscurity.

Unfortunately, that requires the use of Jared and Jensen's names.

I'll start with Jensen just because I happen to already have a link ready.

So, with Jensen, he's going to play that Destiel/Cockles card as much as he possibly can. Always has, always will. Jensen has always said that Destiel doesn't exist. (Thanks to @Sammyiscat on X for posting this today, just when I needed it!)

Once upon a time, Jensen did do a little fan service and lean into it slightly during JenMish panels. However, he always made it as clear as possible how he really feels. Then the hellers called him homophobic for it. So earlier this year, as you mentioned, he called it "clear text" not subtext. He tried to be as diplomatic as possible. The unfortunate part of being diplomatic is that it allowed the hellers to twist themselves into pretzels making it sound like Jensen said the opposite of what he actually was saying.

What I find the most interesting is that in the last few years, Misha is on his best behavior around Jensen. He only runs his mouth off when Jensen isn't around. Usually when he's at a European con alone. I'd LOVE to know how that transpired. Jensen is also usually in a pretty bad mood leading up to a JenMish panel these days as well. He was surprisingly ok in Charlotte (except for that one damn question). However, let's look back on San Francisco. Remember when he ran from Misha trying to hug him?

That is the definition of an unhappy Jensen....Yet hellers, CANNOT SEE IT! How can they not see that? Anyways...I could go on and on here....

So let's move on to Jared...

Sweet silly Jared. How anyone could be mean to him I'll never know. Something has changed there too. There was a lot more joking from Misha where Jared is concerned once up a time. Now, everything Misha says about his sounds bitter and or malicious.

He loves to point out that Jared was discovered just walking down the street, or that he has no training or that he didn't go to college.

Then there was the airplane story from last month in DC. It was partially true, but heavily embellished to make Jared sound bad, and what happens every time that happens? Tons of hate descends onto Jared online. People telling him to kill himself. Just pure bullying and hate. Misha HAS to know that is what would happen.

Just this past weekend he mocked him: (Ignore the person who tweeted this. You don't want to go down that route)

What an asshole. I mean really. I know, I know hellers, "oh, it's just a joke" right? Let's not start the "you and your friends have no sense of humor" crap again.

As far as con experiences go? I've heard people say many times that they have had negative experiences meeting Misha. Unless you are known to him already he couldn't care less. Been there, done that, can confirm. Like I said in another post, glad I already didn't like him because I sure wouldn't now!

Obviously this isn’t the last chapter of my hero but even so I think the ending of this final battle was done very shallow anyways. Like happy for bakudeku people fr I’m happy they got their destiel moment but I sincerely feel like horikoshi said whatever to the actual story he was writing in favor of pleasing the izuku and bakugo fans which are the majority of the fandom. Because besides them literally every other character has just been side lined into an “okay? That’s it I guess??? “ ending. I’m so serious if you step outside of Bakugo and Izukus storyline not a single other character has had any proper wrap up for this war. Over half of these characters aren’t even acknowledged despite being set up for a more impactful story it’s crazy.

And I’m sorry but genuinely what is the point of anything right now if Touya, Himiko, and Tomura are dead. I literally don’t care if one of them did actually survive and we see that in the next chapter, we should see them alive now….getting help…being acknowledged. What was the point of emphasizing to your viewers how fucked and unfair hero society is and how so many people suffer and become villains because of never getting help if the three characters who represent the unfairness just die??? All of them??? Like okay… hope that their deaths impact the hero students so hopefully when they grow up they….feel more inclined to be sympathetic to future villains, instead of actually writing how current society should’ve acknowledged our marginalized characters and through enough help these people could be rehabilitated into a better society. Like the point of emphasizing this entire time how this new generation of hero’s, Izuku especially, are better than the hero’s before them and are going to right past wrongs should be shown in the characters actually doing that… not just hoping they will. Like because these characters are dead there can’t possibly be any justice brought. If they are all truly dead how can we see hero society face their mistakes and work to fix them because nobody else in this universe if going to care about the deaths of these villains besides Izuku, Ochako, and Shoto who knew them personally. It truly feels like he backed out of writing the harder story in favor of just pleasing the majority of fans there’s no other way to spin it.

Also….the way izuku didn’t even reach his goal like bro failed….and not poetically like you can spin it as “he’s just a teenager!!! He can’t be expected to actually succeed at everything!!!” We know. We’ve seen him fail plenty before. Showing us this in the final battle is unsatisfactory. “It’s realistic to show that you can’t save everyone! Not even the good guys can meet their goals it wouldn’t be realistic .” First of all this is a fantasy story. This is a fictional story written by someone to share a message to his audience. And he failed at showing the message he had built up since the start. Like there’s plenty of times you can show me how the good guys don’t win every battle and I love it but trying to say this at the price of your characters who represent abuse and mistreatment is bad writing and it’s lazy. You can not spin it any other way.

I’m just spur of the moment rambling so if anything I say is incoherent sorry I just genuinely expected so much better.

(i haven’t seen any posts about this so if there are any i would love to know about it bc i am passionate about this.)

firstly, i could pick that entire scene apart with how it relates to dean and what he’s going through as well as all the symbolism—the mother losing her child, billie in death’s library, the shots of the impala, the neon signs in shot when they finally drive up to cas—but honestly i would never run out of things to say about it.

the overarching themes of both that scene and this song are regret and guilt and wishing you could go back and do things, treat people, differently, and so putting them together in that way is perfect. more specifically, the song is about a man who had all these ambitions, mostly because of pressure from his parents, but finds himself grown up having achieved none of them and because of that, it starts to affect the people around him. sound familiar?

especially right now, dean is suffering so much loss, and (somewhat inadvertently) is taking it out on sam and jack, both his kids in a way (on your woman and your child / you release your bitterness). all he wants is his family back (i.e. mary and cas) but since there’s nothing he can do to go back and fix what took them away from him, he has a lot of trouble seeing the point in going on.

although you’re trained to make your mark / you still don’t quite know what to do

yeah. he’s lived like that for a while, but he’s especially feeling it now. his reaction to billie telling him he still has work to do was not exactly enthusiastic.

as he says to sam in this ep, he’s taken every previous loss in stride and just kept going, kept working, and (in some ways) kept starting over despite it all. but he might not be able to do it anymore. we’re seeing him at his lowest, all he wants is to die, but he’s finally let sam in, even if neither of them are sure where to go from here. and what happens next? his phone rings, and his best friend is on the other end.

we all know there’s a stark difference in dean from one episode to the next (13x6 is tombstone), and why is that? dean got the win he needed. he got cas back, and he’s no longer just watching time slip by until his death. a reason to live just walked back into his life. he’s learning that, maybe, it really is never too late.

this happens a lot for dean, specifically with losing cas, where it feels like he’s finally lost for good this time, but he’s always managed to get cas back or to find some way to keep going.

another line i find very fitting for dean is in the second verse:

the god of your childhood you can’t find / to save you from your emptiness

obviously, this could be about chuck and how unreliable he is, especially when dean (and sam) needs him most, which we saw most recently at the end of 13x1. (“the god of your childhood” could also be the samulet, but thats a different discussion.)

again, there’s a lot of lines that i think reflect dean’s character and everything he’s been through really well, but rather than enduring the essay i could write about it, go (re)listen and you’ll see what i mean. it’s just so beautifully fitting, especially given it’s 60s/70s rock which i think dean would appreciate.

that ending scene of dean and cas seeing each other again, particularly with that song in the background, is one i think about a lot and, to me, is criminally underrated in terms of destiel moments. it’s one of my favs and it makes me cry like a baby.

so yes, it’s never too late by steppenwolf is THEE dean winchester song and i hope you agree. it’s also just an excellent song tbh go listen to it and cry with me xx

Genuine question, I’m new to supernatural (I’m on season 4) and I can definitely see what people mean about dean and cas and obviously I know about the confession scene but I’m confused if it’s true that deans feeling are “up to interruption” or if he just doesn’t like him back? Also I’ve seen some people saying he’s like homophobic? Ive just really confused and dean is my favorite so I wanna know lol

So let's talk about that. Are Dean's feelings up to interpretation?

Simply put, yes.

Basically, in s15e18 "Despair", when Cas is giving his whole "I love you" speech, Dean doesn't say very much. At random intervals, he gives NPC-type comments* like "Why does this sound like a goodbye?" and "Don't do this, Cas". He does not ever say "I love you too" (unless you're watching the Spanish dubbed version, where he says exactly that).

On the surface, I know my friends (who only get their spn info from me holding them hostage in my discord server), took issue with the line "don't do this". They kind of read it as Dean not respecting Cas in Cas's final moments-- in their eyes, Dean didnt want Cas to confess because he's uncomfortable with Cas's feelings. But the speech isn't about Dean-- it's about Cas giving himself permission to be happy.

That line of thinking plus the past allegations of Jensen Ackles being homophobic is usually where people get the idea that Dean is homophobic. From what I can see, the "Dean is homophobic" is mostly part of the meme of the scene in general, and not something most people actually believe, but some people do genuinely believe he is homophobic. This belief is also supported by Dean's hypermasculine personality in general and the comments he makes; we never once see him outwardly homophobic to any of the openly queer SPN characters, but especially in earlier seasons, he makes jokes (like Sam being a girl because he has long hair) that you would expect someone homophobic to say.

I do think homophobic Dean a valid interpretation, but the logic kind of ignores some of the context of the scene.

For one, there's a moment after the confession where Dean gets a call from "Cas" (it's Lucifer) telling him that Cas is outside the Bunker and needs to be let out. Dean breaks into a sprint to get to the door, and I think this action speaks louder than words (or, lack thereof). Whether or not Dean reciprocates, he cares about Cas as a friend and he wants Cas to be alive again.

For two, when it comes to "don't do this", the more common interpretation is that Dean doesn't want Cas to sacrifice himself. Again, Cas starts the speech by explaning that he will die during his happiest moment, and then transitions into saying that confessing his love to Dean is his happiest moment. Dean doesn't want Castiel to defeat Billie by sacrificing himself.

As a destiel shipper, my interpretation of this scene is a slight variation of the previous one. In my general view of SPN, Dean has known he's in love with Cas since at least s11, and he's known Cas has loved him back for a while, but he's just never felt like it was the right time to start a relationship (constant apocalypses and everything) and he's worried that he'll screw it up. In my head, when he says "don't do this", it means more like "don't do this [love confession like this]". Like, Dean doesn't want their first ILYs* to be marred by the fact that Cas is sacrificing himself.

So, last question-- how do people read the scene as Dean liking Cas back when he never verbally reciprocates?

Some people see Dean's silence as him either not liking Cas back or not realizing he likes Cas back yet, but there's another option here. The reason Cas is dying is because he believes this is his happiest moment. His speech outright states that he believes Dean does not love him back ("the one thing I want is the thing I cannot have"). It's totally possible that Dean reciprocates, but in his mind, saying that really would trigger Cas's happiest moment. There are some great fix-it fics built on the premise of "Dean insults the sht outta Cas to spoil Cas's happiest moment and stop him from being taken by the Empty".

* okay last point. I wasn't sure where to insert this but I think it's insanely interesting. The scene in s15e18 is not actually the first time Cas tells Dean he loves him. In s12, there is an episode where Cas believes he is dying, and he says the line "I love you. I love all of you" to the small crowd of Dean, Sam, and Mary. NPC behavior from Dean ensues as he insists Cas isn't going to die without ever acknowledging the "I love you". The common interpretation is that the first ILY is for Dean, and the second ILY is Cas speaking to the Winchesters as a whole. Do with that as you will lol

and the way the leviathan looks at dean specifically seems to me like he is trying to insinuate something

I don’t know if I’m in the wrong with this or not (I love misha btw) but the things he’s saying about dean and cas .. I dunno it feels weird.. I’ve been a Destiel shipper for a long time but… damn I don’t know.. talking about a coworker’s character like that with your own I just.. man I don’t know like I understand what he’s doing like I get it but it feels strange… I feel awful saying this because I understand completely what he’s doing

And I understand that completely, Misha is not everyone's cup of tea and people have every right not to vibe with what he is saying all the time (which 99% he's wilding)

However he and Jensen know each other 15 years now? And they're really close irl, Danneel is also really close with Misha and they hang out outside of work as well and I'm certain that if Jensen was truly uncomfortable with what Misha is pulling 99% of the time, they'd definitely talk about it behind the scenes.

Like Jared used to joke about W*ncest/went on a homophobic rant about Cas and Jensen never said anything about it, I'm sure Misha joking about Destiel which is what he's been doing at cons with Jensen on stage as well, won't be such a big deal between them and if it is then I'm sure it will be discussed between those two.

Like you said, these are fictional characters and the majority of the fandom is literally asking for what Misha's been joking about, if Jackles is uncomfortable with such jokes, I'm sure he will discuss it with Misha since they are friends and not just coworkers.

Idk to me, it's all just humour, is it questionable? Most of the time yes which is why it's not for everyone, is it offensive/problematic to joke about two fictional men fucking? I honestly don't believe so and if it is they can talk about it.

P.s there's no "in the wrong/in the right" about everything, people can have different opinions on such things (not extreme situations obviously) and it's okay!!

omg please tell us about your endverse Cas and Stanford era Dean WIP!!

I'm so happy you asked about this one. The idea came from this art and the ficlet that goes with it on the link above. See for me it looks like Endverse Cas and Stanford era Dean. Probably because Dean looks younger since he doesn’t have a beard. So I worked with that.

And then, I wrote this:

What if, Endverse Cas ended up somehow in early 2005. Just before everything went sideways, because despite acting all defeated, he still has hope to save Dean. Because this is what this is all about. He loves Dean and wants to save him from being hopeless and helpless after Sam said yes to Lucifer. He wants to avoid him that nightmare.

So, he finds a way.

He meets Dean in a bar, drinking alone. His father out on a hunt somewhere and Sam in Stanford.

Cas talks with him and buys him a beer. He tells him he is a hunter, lies about knowing John Winchester to gain Dean’s trust. Because what does he have to lose?

He knows Dean so well. He recognizes him so easily. He changed but not really. He is still him. Still the most loving human being he knows. Still beautiful, still Dean Winchester.

They exchange about hunt stories and Dean just confesses about the current case he is working on. Cas lies that this is why he is here, to work on the same one. And Dean offers to join forces. He invites him in his motel room, because Dean is not as wary as he became, because Cas didn���t betray him yet and he is still young.

They work that case together. Cas feels almost like an angel, it’s like he can fly again. He doesn’t want to leave Dean’s side, he’s got to make sure he is safe.

Dean accepts his help, that’s not the first time he worked with another hunter that is not his family. Plus, the guy knows how to use a gun, and a blade. He is surprisingly good at it for someone who is on drugs all the time.

One night, he settles in his queen bed, next to Dean’s, his joint in his mouth. Dean approaches to take it out of his mouth, mumbling something about the smell being so strong he feels like it never leaves his clothes. But Cas grabs his wrist before he can do anything and pulls him on top of him. Dean obviously falls on him, surprised and struggling. But Cas’s hands on him are so gentle and so careful. The kind of touch he never received from a man. Especially not his father.

So he melts into it. He closes his eyes, when fingers snake between his locks. He gasps when soft lips brush his. He just lies there, when a hand strokes his back.

When Cas kisses Dean’s neck, his stubble scratches Dean’s throat.

Maybe Cas took too much drugs, or Dean inhaled a lot of it, because at some point Cas offers Dean to ride him and Dean accepts. They both strip and settle back on the bed.

2. parks and recreation. rewatching p&r is an interesting experience because it was such a product of obama-era liberal america and the optimism just oozes out of every scene. also we don't like crisp ratt anymore. but it's also so genuinely funny and heartfelt and comforting! this show had a massive impact on my sense of humor, as well as i think framed failure in such a positive light: every character failed drastically at something over the course of the show, but through caring for each other were able to pick themselves back up and never let their shortcomings define them. i first watched it at a point in my life where i really needed that, so it has always stuck with me.

3. leverage. my comfort show to turn to when living in a post-capitalist hellscape that continues to reward billionaires for their moral bankruptcy while shitting on everybody else gets too depressing (so… like every day). is it campy and unrealistic? yes. do i care? no. sometimes you need escapism via direct action, heist hijinks, and extreme displays of bisexuality. also aldis hodge is one of the most beautiful human beings on planet earth.

4. supernatural. yeah yeah it's the hehe destiel meme show. but it was also tons of fun to watch every week, the worldbuilding started out fantastic (and then got progressively more and more insane), i think it's really the epitome of "really cool ideas with mostly lackluster execution". the bloody mary episode remains one of my favorite episodes of tv ever, and the fandom drama just keeps giving! i also met some of my dearest friends through the fandom, so maybe the real destiel love memes were the friends we made along the way.

5. twin peaks. the only show that made me so insane i went and got a tattoo of it. impeccable vibes, the experience of watching s3 and then memeing about it on reddit with everyone else who were all equally confused is an experience that will never be replicated.

6. love island uk. listen. fucking listen. i don't want this show to be listed here any more than any of you do, i'm sure. absolute bottom of the barrel brain rot that consumes my life and brings my workday to a grinding halt (thank you timezones) for the 2 months that each season is running. i absolutely have nothing good to say about love island uk other than it's sometimes really funny, usually unintentionally. but iain stirling's voice and those stupid neon pillows/beanbags and atrocious cursive font and catchphrases have wormed their way into my brain and nothing short of a complete lobotomy can remove it.

7. how to get away with murder. this wouldn't even be on here if saff and i didn't go on an insane binge of all six seasons last fall. but since we did… here we are. michaela pratt is an icon and has never done anything wrong ever in her life and i will die on this hill.

8. cunk on earth. this is probably recency bias speaking but oh my god i adore this show. it is exactly my brand of humor and i have so much respect for all the experts and miss diane morgan herself for making it through those interviews without breaking, because i would be fighting for my fucking life. this is the show that i will henceforth be recommending like a madwoman to all my friends.

Plot Description: When Dean learns that the angels have decided they no longer need him, he joins with Sam and Castiel to take on Zachariah

Would I Survive the First Five Minutes??: I mean. Obviously not. Though, I can’t remember the last time I was in a bar, so maybe I’m saved from depressed angels drinking away their sorrows over getting fired only to get reinstated because I’m simply not there

I hate how often I can see where Dean’s coming from. He’s had to fight nearly his whole life and he’s tired and he’s been shown the opportunity to stop the apocalypse, save people, maybe be able to repent for the time he spent torturing in hell, and at the end it’s over? It’s not the worst option…especially since no one else is offering anything

It’s a good thing something happened to Cas or that tension would have never broken

I love when the angels physically fight because they all look like boring accountants in dark suits and then all of a sudden they’re doing hand to hand combat with a long dagger

Okay folks, since we're approaching October and that means the release of The Winchesters I want to make something very clear:

I am excited about this prequel. I'm looking forward to finding out what happened to John and Mary before they apparently got mind wiped and forgot everything. I wanna see Carlos and Latika and all the other new (and old?) characters we're gonna meet.

Maybe it's gonna suck, maybe it's gonna be amazing. We don't know that yet. But I am here to see it for myself.

Now here's the thing:

No one is forcing you to be excited about this show.

No one is forcing you to watch it.

If you've already decided it's gonna suck and you're gonna hate it - good for you. Make an anti tag and shit on it to your heart's contend in a little corner where I don't have to see it.

But I'm already annoyed at people reblogging posts about the show, from blogs who are obviously excited, and saying in the tags how much it's gonna suck.

Let me remind y'all that we can all see your tags. And it's incredibly rude when you just want to be enjoying something and people instead of just ignoring your post feel the need to constantly remind you that they hate it.

Omega Dean has lived a harsh life prior to being selected to be a demonstration model at a party unveiling the latest product that Morningstar Enterprises is set to produce. Alphas Castiel and Jimmy Novak are guests of honor at the event, but when they lay eyes on the Omega that is clearly at the center of something that was not a part of the party, the twins leap into action. Unfortunately, they are separated. Now Jimmy must keep Dean safe until Castiel can be rescued.

But the more that Jimmy learns about this very well-trained Omega, the more he questions what was really going on that night. The problem is will he be able to figure out the puzzle and still rescue his brother?

Except from Chapter 15:

Castiel could feel Dean tensing, the anticipation almost more than he could bear.  As his soft words continued to encourage Sam to wake up, to come back to both Dean and Jimmy.  So that Sam could be there when Dean presented Castiel with the child that they had created in a moment of love, when the stars had aligned, when sacrifices were made, even if the results of those action had been a truly terrible catastrophe of epic proportions.  Dean needed Sam to wake up so that he could reassure his nephew that he was alright, and that everything would work out in the end. 

Castiel froze as the words penetrated him, as their deeper meaning became clear.  The tenses that Dean was using, he wasn’t referring to a possible future child, he was speaking of a current present child that was nestled safe and sound in his womb.  The womb that lay under Sam’s rather massive frame, as Dean held him so very close.  Wrapped in arms that had sworn to protect him.  To protect all that Dean felt was in his charge.  And the little one that had found a safe place to burrow in, so that he might grow big and strong; he was absolutely one that Dean would fight for until his very last breath, to defend this innocent being from all harm.  To keep safe so that he might present him to his Alpha. 

Castiel was in such a state of shock, that he almost missed the joy Dean felt as Sam’s eyelids began to flutter.  As those thick eyelashes finally pulled away from their resting place against his tear-streaked cheeks, as distraught hazel eyes turned up to look at his big brother, locking onto a pair of gold-flecked leaf-green eyes that were so filled with love, they filled with tears quickly, and with a breathy sigh, “Heya, Sammy” filled the quiet of the room.  Castiel could hear Sam’s groan for just a moment, before he focused back on Jimmy.  His twin was laying deathly still, obviously still not reconnected with his Omega through their bond. 

“Jimmy, wake up.  Jimmy, try to feel Sam.  Jimmy!”  Castiel had raised a hand, cupping Jimmy’s face as he tried to rouse his twin.  Pressing his forehead against his little brother’s, trying to re-establish the natural connection that had existed between them since the time that they had shared a womb.  But Jimmy was pale and limp beside Castiel, not responding in any way at all.  Castiel quickly grabbed the handheld radio and called for Dr. Redfield, requesting his presence in the harshest of tones before he dropped the radio and focused all of his attention on Jimmy once more. 

Castiel heard the door open, felt the hands that rather foolishly tried to separate him from Jimmy on his body, lashed out at them.  Castiel could hear Dr. Redfield speaking, ordering the nurse not to touch Castiel.  The soft and reassuring tone of the good doctor was soon filling Castiel’s senses, urging him to release his hold on Jimmy so that they could help him.  But he just couldn't, Jimmy was empty, like he had been hollowed out.  Like everything that made Jimmy the frustrating, compassionate, annoying, loving, aggravating, and amazing little brother that he was, it was simply gone. 

All that was left was a cold husk, a shell that had once contained an Alpha of exceptional quality.  Castiel panicked further then, not understanding what could be happening.  Hadn’t Jimmy felt Sam wake up?  Hadn’t Jimmy heard the conversation that Dean had had with Sam as he held him in his arms?  Hadn’t Jimmy experienced the love and joy that Castiel had tried to show him as Dean had reveled in the fact that Sam had come back to him?

The Road So Far: Season Four

Well that was a ride.

With that out of the way, let's talk about season 4.

Can I start with the poetry? If you gave me enough time, I could write a whole essay about the symmetry in this season. I mean, start with the obvious -- the titles of 4x01 Lazarus Rising and 4x22 Lucifer Rising (and don't get me started on comparing Dean to Lazarus, one of Jesus' closest friends. If you haven't read that story, please do. It adds so much). And I mean, all of the episode titles are on point this season. At least one Zeppelin song, a Peanuts reference, a Sesame Street reference (which I mentioned in my post about the episode, 4x18 The Monster at the End of This Book).

This season really highlighted how Sam and Dean have evolved in just four short years. Obviously there were extenuating circumstances to make them that way, but I feel like both characters were really stripped to their cores to see what makes them tick, and it's so fascinating to watch them react to what's happening around them. Dean is finally coming to see that his life actually has meaning, while Sam is falling apart from the life he never wanted. It's plain to see that neither of them wants to keep hunting, but season 4 has also provided plenty of evidence that hunting is undeniably in their blood.

It's also interesting to see how Azazel's plan fits into the greater storyline. I think I mentioned back in season 2 that his whole plot didn't make much sense on its own, and it's gratifying to see everything fall into place.

Once again, it feels like the writers are forcing Sam to be the main character, even though this season definitely has more Dean-centric episodes and Dean gets a lot more development and limelight. It's almost funny to think about.

Before I forget, I suppose I should pick my favorite episode. I do have to say, while this was my favorite season as a whole, none of the episodes really stand out to me as amazing. 4x06 Yellow Fever is a fan favorite, and I'm no exception, 4x17 It's A Terrible Life was incredibly light-hearted, which was much needed after On The Head of a Pin. 4x13 After School Special gets an honorable mention, but it's not on the same level as the other two. My all-time favorite episode remains to be 1x12 Faith, which surprises even me because I'm generally not a fan of overly emotional and heavy media. I tend to prefer more lighthearted stories, but Faith really hits. I've already said that 4 is my favorite season, even if the individual episodes were a bit lacking. I think I preferred the overarching plotline of this season over others; it had much higher stakes and I was much more invested in what was happening. I really felt more emotional about certain plot beats and the characters felt a lot more real. I sped through this season pretty quickly, at least in terms of how many watch-days it took (as opposed to total elapsed time since the last season). It helps that I was on a road trip, so I got a lot of time in the car, but I think I would have finished quickly anyways because the story was so riveting.

This season we got to meet Cas! I have to admit, he wasn't exactly what I was expecting. Then again, neither were Sam and Dean. I feel like I simultaneously know so much and so little about Cas compared to the two brothers, but that'll change as I get deeper into the show.

While I'm not a Destiel shipper (I know. But Dean is Ben's dad and I will fight you) I can definitely see where they're coming from. I'll probably keep making comments on it as I see it, because it really is an interesting take that could add to the show. As it is, it's exciting to see Cas evolve into a member of Team Free Will (and I'm honestly a little surprised that it's happening so quickly). Even though most angels are pieces of crap, it's still fun to see a new player on the field.

Speaking of, let's talk about Chuck. I've already had a lot of the show spoiled for me being on Tumblr, so a lot of the plot twists won't be as twisty to me. One of said plot twists is the fact that Chuck is God. Now, obviously I already know this, but what I don't know is why he's acting the way he is. Is he lying? Was his memory actually wiped? If so, by whom? Lots of fun questions, and I can't wait to see them answered.

And with that, I think it's time I wrap this up. I'll start season 5 hopefully sometime this week. Carry On!
