For anyone who wasn't on tiktok, it was a hell of an ordeal. There are so many small businesses either selling through tiktok (yes, really) or who rely on tiktok for exposure and as free advertisement for their products.

There are a ton of creators who have tiktok as their job (similar to youtubers) or who use the revenue from their videos to supplement their income. There are so many disabled people who are able to support themselves because they've built a viewership on tiktok.

And no one knew what was going on. Creators were panic posting their drafts. People were fleeing to other apps, with little hope of getting the same traffic or the amount of financial support - if any - they had been getting. People were on my fyp crying their eyes out because they might be losing their jobs. People had spent years and years building up their community.

Is tiktok full of misinformation? Yes, the same as anywhere on the internet. But it also was a place where people could share, in real time, what was happening in their part of the world, without media bias, without US corporations sifting through and deciding what can and can't be reported on. It did - and still does - connect you with real people.

After the ban? The amount of censorship is horrifying. Searches disparaging Trump show no results for US-based users. Comments and videos are being deleted. There will be warnings on videos that claim what you are watching might be misinformation, when it's something the current people in power don't want you to see. Other countries are keeping us informed, because our news and media is being filtered and censored. People are getting around filters and "shadow bans" with code words and swapping out letters with numbers and symbols. Funnily enough, people having to censor themselves for the algorithm (which has been seen bleeding into other spaces) just prepped them for this.

I'm actively getting information about US current events through tiktok, and I know I'm not the only one. I'm hearing what's happening to my trans sisters/brothers/siblings first hand, and it's terrifying. This information is not spread elsewhere the same way it is on tiktok. I've seen more protests in live videos on tiktok than I do through any news outlet.

Tiktok is not just an app. It is full of communities, with people helping each other, learning from each other and sharing information.

Just in case any of you are confused, TikTok being banned and coming back not even 24 hours later with a giant "we thank President Trump" message is NOT a win. It's a huge red flag and a sign that this was a thousand percent planned.

Petscop Special Stage

I was playing this weird game I found in the dumpster of our local abandoned Denny's when I found this really cool secret, I was wandering off in some weird dark grass land and messing around with the 2 Player controller trying to get the green thing to say "Penis" when I accidentally made it say "Checkpoint". Then, a weird sound played and I lost all of my money and the screen started to fade to white. After that, I appeared in this weird hexagon world thing with the objective of collecting "Pieces" (whatever those are), but I couldnt get far because when the minigame started I instantly fell into one of the holes in the ground and it threw me back into the scary grass land. I tried getting video of the event, but when I played the footage on my computer it exploded, but I managed to recover this screenshot, so enjoy that.

Jokes aside, I kinda like what I did here, some stuff looks weird like the squares in the top part of the hexagon but overall I think it turned out pretty alright. The concept was something I came up with while day dreaming, Knuckles Chaotix is like my personal favorite 2D sonic game (Sonic CD being second) so combining that with Petscop was just natural for my barin, also, just the concept of a "Petscop Special Stage" was really funny to me, also also, I went and had a little bit of fun with the colors and did some pretty wacky stuff like Green Guardian. So yeah, go watch Petscop if you havent, if you have, go watch Sheriff Domestic, if you have, then go die I guess.

i have some friends who have anxiety flying, and as someone who has always had anxiety flying too, but for very different reasons to most people, i wanted to send you a hug.

most people are afraid of the danger they think of, but flying truly is the safest way to travel. i imagine you drive in your day to day life. flying is safer. sadly, though, there is no KFC fly-through in the sky (yet). if there was you would be there, ordering wings through the triple-glazed windows.

i try to understand friends' anxieties, because mine is less about the actual flying (soaring, magic!) and more about particulars like the smell of aeroplanes and the food - but mostly the early mornings. as a family we always started our holiday with a 4am taxi to the airport, and as i hit my teens, early mornings made me sick. i hate being woken up, i hate the vulnerability and feeling like i'm walking around without skin, which i get when i'm very tired and woken from deep sleep. 8am is bad enough - 4 and im a nervous wreck. it used to get so bad that i couldnt breathe properly and would give myself trapped wind, which would result in swollen belly and nausea for 8-11 hour long flights from little old england to fabulous places in the US. i felt awful as if my parents thought me ungrateful, spoiling their flight with my ill. holidays were always worth it in the end, but i'd get so nervous to go back to the airport that it would spoil the last few days of the vacation too. i longed for the carefree feeling of being a kid again, one who revelled in flying above the clouds, so i tried to wean myself out of it by reverting to that childhood mindset. book! sweets! discman that you had to keep horizontal and carry a whole ass pack of actual cds with you if you wanted to switch music! taking my shoes off and snuggling down and letting the handsome-voiced pilot carry me off to an escape from my everyday life! dreamy.

and it worked. i went on holiday with friends, terrified they would discover my pathetic secret and think me silly. i managed it, and had a good flight. and in the end, friends didnt care. they took care of me instead, and i took care of them - one had been scared, too, for different reasons. she took a pill and it ended up like that fiasco from Bridesmaids. 'i am readyyyy to PARRRTAYYYYY' hahhaha

so i found a way around my fear: laughter, acceptance, and telling the truth.

now, it is years later and i have flown a fair few times, but not as many as i would hope. i sometimes watch videos of takeoff and landing from inside the plane if i want to transport myself, and it calms me in a way i never expected. the sound of the pilot announcement 'bing bong'... the strange hum of the air con... the giddy feeling of looking out of the window and seeing the world get smaller and smaller, until everything is toy town, and you recognise the strange insignificance and beauty of both yourself and the everyday troubles of every little ant-size person whizzing down the highway below.

and when the plane finally leaves mountains and land behind (which i imagine yours will do too), and goes over that endless blue? and if there are clouds below you as well? oh man, vinny. you've never known such a feeling. magic. it's pure magic. you'll feel like you're flying, a bird, defying gravity. and to do all this for the first time with the love of your life holding your hand - because i bet he will - will be a euphoria you've never known. my parents always took each others hands for takeoff and landing, and when we were kids me and my sister would cringe, but as we got older, we saw how beautiful it was. just silently taking each other's hands, no words needed, and i reckoned if i ever found someone who could share a silent love like that with me i'd be lucky.

so try not to think of the classic fears you have of flying, because you'll be in good hands, not only with your man but the pilot and flying staff too. maybe you guys can even indulge in some mile high club lovin, or make jokes about going into the cockpit and sharing in the sexy pilot to lighten the mood. make the travelling An Event instead of a means to an end, and it'll all be so much more enjoyable.

and lastly i always say to friends that it helps to learn more, learn about how planes actually fly if you can, to ease the anxiety and trust that, really, it won't go down. it all makes sense how it's up there in the sky.

so it'll be next july. it's one of my favourite things, laying on the lawn in summer and watching the planes fly over. the sound is pure summer to me. if the conditions are right, you get to see the little contrails puffing out behind long after the tiny plane has gone on its way. if we are both still here, and not freaking out about a possible newly dropped s5 in summer, i'll think of you up there somewhere in your little plane and hope you are feeling content and happy as can be.

I feel like this is the part of the sleepover where we've gathered our pillows and our blankets and we're having a little side heart-to-heart over in the corner while movie number 3 plays well past midnight. Your truth and story, sharing this personal insight, this vulnerability, oh babeeee truthfully, you've made me cry a bit. And that's ok!! It was a cathartic feeling. How did I get here? From making this silly blog for some off the cuff fandom silliness and now you wonderful folks are sharing these really insightful stories and trying to help alleviate something that is a massive fear of mine? I don't know. I'm so touched. Human connection is everything and I feel so happy we can all do that now.

My fear - I'm so unsure how I'll completely shake it, and it's been a problem every time I've flown and I no longer medicate to alleviate the stress and terror my brain conjures as the plane lifts into the sky. I think it's a fear of being outside my control. Most public transport does this to me to some extent and as much as I dislike driving, I do prefer to be the one behind the wheel (excepting Z now - the rare person I don't even really worry when driving and it's been so nice giving that up and enjoying being in a car now. He's so calm and I don't need to be a control freak about it with him where before, being the one controlling the vehicle calmed my nerves). It's feeling powerless I guess. Train derailment. Subway car under a tunnel collapse. Car crash. I fear the airplane failing and that terror of knowing you're going to die, free falling as it plummets through the sky and there's nothing to do as the ground or water is closer and closer. I've had nightmares about it. You know that falling jolt sensation that wakes you up before you hit and then you're ripped from your sleep, out of breath? I've gotten pretty close to the ground in my worst dreams, from various circumstances.

Sorry for getting too heavy!! But it's tough to shake! I've been on a few vacations that required air travel and I had to fly several times for a past job - the opportunities were cool and I'll admit I barely remember those flights because I medicated as to not panic and just coast in haziness, but as I don't take that stuff anymore, this will be the first time "flying solo" so to speak since I'd used it. Scary! But... there's something about the way you've romanticized it that's really intriguing to me. And reassuring. And somewhat calming. Focusing on the technicalities, the reality of how flight works and understanding that the worst can happen any day in any random way and how rare a disaster actually is. How incredible it is that we live in a society that has mastered leaving the ground and joining the clouds despite being unable to fly ourselves - we've been to the freaking moon!! Men walked on a surface not of the planet and they returned home safe and sound. I can fly down to a resort on an island, footprints in the sand in lieu of moon dust. I have to learn to trust.

There are truly so many things I overthink and that freak me out and make me spiral into some place not so pleasant. I get lost in wonderful fantasies and my imagination takes me wild places - but it's a double edged sword. It goes to the worst places, too. He helps me so much. I don't know how someone like me by sheer stupid happenstance found my perfect person with this specific brand of kindness but I have it now. And I know, I know, despite my fear and irrational doom scenario hyperfocus - he's gonna make me feel alright. Clinging to him, just having him there. If it's a freefall, at least I won't be alone. But - I think I'll hold tight to his steady hand and ask him for the window seat so I can watch the clouds and see the dots of towns and see what the ocean looks like from far above and appreciate the magic of it all as I keep my breathing even.

I don't suppose my July trip will take me over to your part of the world - but maybe one summer you'll look up and my future adventures will take me to more places far from home.

so to start with barry, we need to start with palmer. he and chryssas dad (henceforth referred to as cd since he doesn't have an actual name yet...) were both from twinleaf and dreamed of becoming great trainers.

and they did! palmer made it to the champion level, though being champion bored him so he quit after a bit. when plans to build a battle frontier in sinnoh popped up, he jumped at the chance to join.

cd eventually became a ranger which he was good at, but killed him in a freak accident. a lot of turbulent emotions for palmer--his best friend died the same week his son was born.

that's all relevant because it led to barry being childhood friends with chryssa and lucas whenever his dad was around... and then chased off by johanna whenever he was at the battle frontier.

cd's death shattered johanna and she partly blamed palmer. she'd never say that to his face, but she did kinda take it out on barry as a proxy.

as a result, barry had a weird time with his best friend (lucas). they could only spend time together at school or when johanna wasn't looking.

barry, despite his extroversion, was a very lonely kid. he couldn't see lucas that often and both of his parents worked busy schedules. palmer spent 5 days of the week at the battle frontier while his mom (who I should really also name) was a teacher who was constantly busy.

he had a lot of trouble making friends at school. he was a bit too extroverted yknow? tolerated at best as a class clown. lucas was basically the only person who actually liked him. (even chryssa basically tolerated him at best lol)

that left barry with a lot of time on his own. to most people's surprise, he actually spent a lot of that time studying! battling of course, not schoolwork. he studied video of his father or cynthia or whoever, went to the library to learn strategy, went by the high school to watch the older kids casually battle.

so, obviously, he couldnt wait to go on his journey! he just needed to wait for palmer to get him the perfect starter : )

...yea. he uh didnt. palmer knew barry wanted a pokemon but was also away from barry a lot. being home reminded him, but a lack of object permeance is mayhaps a family trait. barry ended up getting his starter from professor rowan.

which barry isn't bitter about at all! he's lying

barry really does love his daddy. he looks up to him as the coolest, greatest, awesomest person on the planet. the fact that palmer doesnt seem to be aware of how deep barry's admiration goes stings juuuust a tiny bit.

but he was on his journey now! and he had a rival in chryssa! (lucas was a boring nerd who worked under professor rowan)

....except chryssa avoided him. and turned down all of his offers to battle when he did find her. and the very few timea they did battle, she absolutely crushed him.

barry's journey was maybe a bit lonelier than expected.

but then he got a chance to study under crasher wake! ignore that wake didnt seem to want him around like everyone else! he was going to be as strong as his dad and this was going to help!

....if team galactic doesnt blow up sinnoh first. barry, despite a desire to help, doesn't get much done. he couldn't stop team galactic from blowing up the great marsh. he couldn't stop jupiter from taking uxie. he couldnt even make it to the peak of mt coronet in time to help there.

barry felt a bit useless and superfluous. he's strong, yea, but what's the point? he hasnt gotten his dads attention, he cant keep his friends, he cant make new ones, he cant help out.....

and uh. this is about where i am for barry. one of the things on my to do list for potential sinnoh fic is wrap up barry's plot line. have him talk to his dad, deal with his growing inferiority complex, all that. its one of those things i feel will be easier after actually writing it, alas, so I don't have much more to say.

but some other barry stuff!

starts dating lucas as an adult. when they tell chryssa, she just kind of stares at them and says she thought theyd been dating for the past 5 years.

does make up with his dad and have a good conversation about everything. palmer never meant to make barry feel bad (and feels quite bad hinself for doing so on accident) and tries to make it up to him

eventually becomes a frontier brain? i have him as taking over from argenta but I'm not 100% married to that specific concept. i kinda want to see what others have for barry before definitively picking something

when he plays with Juliet, Romeo and May, they all make fun of him. if it’s live everyone joins in. he is so sad

people think the funniest thing they can ever do is tell Frankie to make the wrong choices on live. and sometimes they tell him to make the right choices but he doesnt trust them. and then he dies

when he started, he went by Francois, but then Juliet called him Frankie and it stuck

the fans always ask how May’s doing and he VERY happily responds/brings them in to talk

whenever May comes in, they’re wearing the fucking gayest clothes ever seen. and of course Frankie is gay about this.

^Frankie wears the most average outfits ever, like jeans and a hoodie. the hoodie has May’s embroidery on it though so it is actually pretty gay. he just kind of stares at them though. of course, he does wear nice clothes, but not for streaming

his favourite games are The Prototype, Little Misfortune, Amanda the Adventurer, The Classrooms, Untitled Goose Game, Ouija Sleepover, 98xx & Teke Teke

his introduction is “hey guys, i’m Franpucchino!” because he couldnt be bothered with a creative one

all his fans call him Frankie (except for the ones who use Francois) and calling him Franpucchino is the equivalent of a tv show mum calling their kid by their full name

chipspeech rambles so i dont explode

hi this is prolly gonna be a long post that makes no sense srry i just need to brainrot dump. but most important thing if ur not weird and you like chipspeech PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE dm me here so i can give you my discord or instagram where i am actually active more ahhhhhh.

ok anyway blue robots woohoo. these little bastards have been stuck in my brain for like a month now and its just gotten worse. the cool thing about chipspeech is it like doesnt entirely go with the rest of the vocal synth/vocaloid fanbase but rather than being its own seperate things its like this neat little extension of it in like multiple ways. it not only is just a really cool software that tried a lot of new cool things that we dont really see with like vocaloid and synthv and stuff but it also kinda shows the history of how we got to the point of modern vocal synth software in a cool way! even if you dont dive into it like i have you still get the basic “oh well voder was made in like 1939 and it had to be operated by hand how cool” and like through chipspeech you kinda get to see the evolution of how we got to where we are now and i think that thats really neat. 

but then if youre a nerd like me you get to have a ton of fun diving into all of the history and cool old tech stuff. liking chipspeech has made me find a new interest in old computers/tech/software/videogames do i fully understand how they work? hell no! do i love looking at them and having them explained to me by some dude on youtube? hell yeah!! and like its just so cool to go in and research the machines/softwares that inspired the chipspeech bots because even though its difficult sometimes you get to see these advances made and how each one differs from each other in how it was made, how it was operated, its function, etc. and thats SO. FREAKING. AWESOME. like dude have you seen the video of one of the tests for the votrax?? (the one that bert gotrax is based on) if you havent basically it was made so that people with disabilities so they couldnt talk could have conversations over the phone. they tested it by trying to order a pizza using only the software. it took like 3 tries before someone took them seriously and they got the pizza. and the moment they were like “yeah deliver that to the msu computer center” i got so excited cuz that just felt so badass!! like put yourself in their shoes, its 1974, you’re testing your new speech program, and it finally worked. a room full of people, a camera, a news broadcast (iirc), theyre all watching you struggle to order this pizza and then you finally do it and get to tell them to deliver it at the lab you just proved your intelligence to and fehjvddsujfs i cant explain my thinking but DUDE its just so cooooooolllllll!!!!!!! 

but like yeah i need to rant cuz in one of my lovely friend’s words i need to “GET THESE QUEERS OUT OF MY BRAIN!!” (a silly thing my irl said) also like i love the way the voices sound. like yeah sometimes i have no clue what theyre saying but thats not the point of chipspeech!! like vosim has such a nice buzzy voice and like dee no matter their range just sounds so.... great. i dont even know how to describe it it just makes my brain sooooo happy. like sam to most people would be like static weird... idk man but i loooove the staticky sounds theyre just so neat. but its so hard to find nice chipspeech covers/songs. luckily im starting to find how to discover chipspeech stuff but its still so difficult :(

oh all sorts i cry VERY easily i cried yesterday and ill probably cry tomorrow. but sadder stuff aside...hm well last week my parents were at home watching top of the pops and wings doing mull of kintyre came on so my mum videoed it (she always videos these things for some reason rather than just telling us it was on) and sent it to me and it made me cry because it made me a little homesick...but im going home for christmas on friday!! and i cant wait : ^ )) also the other day i was very drunk walking home alone and was very happy listening to the warmest room by billy bragg on a constant loop so i started crying. worse things to cry over!

i watch some tiktoks (</3) with this german couple about stereotypes of german people and i swear. half the time i just see link and giggle, kicking my feet. theyre so hilarious, its like 'going on a biking trip' and hes SO overly prepared with stuff and the partner wants to have nice chats while they bike in the scenery :) and he just goes 'i am trying to keep my speed and breathing steady. we can look at the scenery in silence' AND JUST. SKSKSKSK some of them doesnt fit him as well obviously, but its my main form of entertainment when i want to think of link in Situations. i think their handle is Liam Carpenter if tiktoks youe thing!!!!!!

yall. discovering the good omens parody made me rewatch @thehillywoodshow parodies i remember from my teenhood and.

this makes me experience shrimp emotions. idk where to even start explaining how this makes me feel. but ig i will try

like first of all the fact that ive watched enough of this show to know all the references. and that all these references happened at all and this show happened at all and that i watched most of it and loved it as a teen. its like awe and suprise and nostalgia and sadness and joy and a little bit of mortification but then vindication for having been so passionate about something and enjoying it

second of all the song, im not a massive fan of swift and never really was but shake it off and a lot of her stuff was pretty unavoidable during those years, and i def cant deny this and others are absolute bops and still make me smile and dance... and the message is positive and fun, the way lyrics are changed in the parody mostly fit really well and sound really good so its a song i can enjoy without the context too

and how its like. intentionally combining this... idea of a misogynistic perception of fandom that used to be a lot more prominent, of like the "squeee fangirl" and just being super silly and fun because why the fuck not! and combining it with this show, which is (at least at the start meant to be) more like kinda broody and classically masculine and stuff, and just embracing that combination so genuinely and happily, it was so wonderful to see in 2015 and still so wonderful, and such a fuck you to THA HATERS literally

and just. the production quality is incredible and inspiring, theres so much going on so many scenes and so many meme and culture and show references that bring a smile to my face, the cosplay is wonderful and high quality and makes me want to cosplay spn(really? oh god) for the first time again...

and the fact that they got so many actors and people involved with the show involved!! seeing fancontent aknowledged by "official" sources is still pretty baffling to me sometimes, and it def wasnt as regular in 2015 as it is now to my knowledge, so this was super BIG and awesome back then...

i fell off the latter end of spn, so the only like offical fan depictions and fandom aknowledgements in the series itself i remember are Fan Fiction and the novels and the larper ghostbusters?? or whatever, and those werent always the most sympathetic, or rather made fun of the fandom... which like, parody is fine, spn is a fun meta show, but it did often feel somewhat meanspirited and disapproving, which i understand but dont like. So seeing a fan-MADE parody that is just genuinely celebrating the work AND its fans is such a joy!!!

MY OPINIONS ON MUTANT MAYHEM (spoilers)

remember this is all just MY OPINION. whether you loved the movie or hated it, great, just as long as you give it a chance then whatever you feel about the movie is valid.

(yes i do have a rottmnt pfp but rottmnt is not my first or favorite tmnt, and even tho i am salty that rottmnt is paused ik that mutant mayhem is not the reason why rottmnt got paused in 2020. anything negative i have to say abt mutant mayhem has nothing to do with rottmnt. also this is not the only tmnt i have negative opinions on so please dont think im trying to single this movie out)

the good

the soundtrack, animation, action and character design was amazing.

 i loved the dynamic between the turtles and splinter, they really felt like a family. 

there were moments that were funny. i tally marked the moments i thought were funny and got 12 tallies.

 i enjoy superfly as a villain. the voice acting for superfly was great, the movie really started to improve for me when he was introduced. 

the bad

pop culture references. too many of them. i couldnt help but roll my eyes by the 5th celebrity name drop. i actually tally marked how many pop culture references there were, i mightve missed a few, but there were at least 7 celebrities mentioned and at least 8 pop culture references. it was a bit ridiculous. 

a lot of uncomfortable jokes. things like them speculating what splinters rectum might smell like, talking about being milked and having nipples, the puking, when splinter kissed the roach woman.... yea moments like that that made me wince in the movie theater and while watching at home. i also tally marked this, i was made uncomfortable about 17 times watching this movie. 

the bayverse movies get criticized for having a shitty method of them learning ninjutsu, but i thought mutant mayhem was worse. they learned ninjutsu through youtube videos? i mean maybe its not impossible but it seems a little more silly to me than learning through a book.

the turtles, while yes they do have different personalities, i felt like they were the most similar in this movie, personality wise. it often felt like they were merging into one character, with them constantly talking at the same time, and none of them having much time alone on screen. i had a hard time deciding which turtle i liked the best in the movie, because well they just seemed so similar to each other. 

i have mixed feelings on april. i actually really liked her design. i guess my problem comes from her seeming distant, as ive seen another say. also i hated the puke jokes.

im not sure why, but i felt bored for the majority of the movie. it wasnt until superfly was introduced 45 minutes into the movie where things started to pick up. but i think im in the minority here, as ive only seen one other person say they were bored by the movie. 

the mutants besides superfly were very forgettable. i dont remember any of the new mutants names even after watching for a second time. ofc i do remember bebop and rocksteady, leatherhead, mondo gecko.... but they arent new characters. i also dont like how all the mutants besides superfly are now allies with the turtles. 

i dont like how they are not secret and they start going to high school. i guess theres nothing wrong with it, i just prefer when the turtles are secret. 

ik this seems quite negative, its just easier for me to talk about things i dont like vs the things i do like. 

i thought the movie was decent, i give it a 6/10

i get that a lot of people are protective of this movie, and i understand why. i think that as long as you give it a chance, any opinion you have of it is valid

summary: it's movie night, halloween is coming up, and two idiots are hopelessly in love.

a/n: hi there lovelies! sorry its been a few days since my last post. i just want to say a massive thank you for all the love! this is just a silly one, major fluff warnings. also i've been struggling wit a bit of burnout recently, but this is such a cute idea i couldnt not at least try and write it. hope you enjoy!

Family Video was quiet, save for a few stragglers wandering the isles at the back of the store. Robin was manning the counter, her head in her hands as she struggled to stay awake, caught in the drone of the eight hour shift delirium. Despite her valiant fighting, sleep was beginning to take over as her only source of entertainment was stuck sorting through videos in the back. 

However, the liminal silence that haunted downtown Hawkins was quickly broken as the front door swung open. Dustin marched in first with Eddie following close behind, the pair caught in a heated debate about their next DnD campaign; pausing only to offer their hellos to Robin. Behind them, half-listening to the squabbling of the pair in front of her was Y/n. Robin perked up a little, offering a tired grin as Y/n leant against the counter, mirroring Robin with her head in her hands. “How long have they been like that?” Y/n’s eyes peeked out from behind her eyes, exhaustion from school and the incessant argument clouding their usual warm glow. “Pretty much since we left school. I’m hoping they shut up for the movie, although who knows…last time we watched Little Shop of Horrors they sang all the way through it…bless them.” Y/n cast a small smile over her shoulder to Eddie, her annoyed gaze softening as she watched him wind up Dustin. He had his arm thrown around the kids shoulder, whispering to him, probably trying to sway his movie choice to one of his favourites like Ferris Bueller or Beetlejuice. A laugh escaped her as Dustin pushed Eddie away by his face, insisting ‘he could choose his own movie’. 

“I see your busy as ever.” Y/n’s teasing brought a faux frown to Robins face as she pushed her arm, rolling her eyes simultaneously as she looked around at the deserted video shop. “My usual entertainment is stuck in the back…speaking of, wheres dingus numero dos?” 

As if on command, Eddie appeared by Y/n’s side. His arms automatically worming around her waist, his head resting on top of hers as he pulled her so her back was against his chest. “Movie night Buckley, Henderson’s turn to choose though. Hopefully it’s better than that yuck fest my girl here made us watch last time.” Eddie’s head moved to the side, smiling as angelic as the devil could. “Hey! Don’t think i didn’t catch you crying by the end, Munson.” The couple stuck their tongues out at one another, soon breaking into laughter as they both noticed Robin’s disgusted face. “I know you idiots are in love, but can you please keep the cutesy stuff to a minimum? I think my heart might vomit.” 

The couple responded in tandem, tongues out and scrunching their eyes shut with furrowed brows. Robin countered through mime, acting out violently vomiting her guts out whilst Eddie lead Y/n over to the sci-fi section. Halloween was fast approaching and the couple were notorious within their little freaky family for having the best costumes in all of Hawkins, maybe even Indiana. Y/n has suggested going as Columbia and Eddie (as in Meatloaf) from Rocky Horror which Eddie wasn’t totally opposed to. But he had some other plans which of course included Dustin. 

Eddie had spent weeks thinking of the right costume, finally settling on it a few days prior after their cinema date. Y/n had been begging to do a vampire theme, only settling with Rocky Horror because it was his favourite. She was always doing that, putting others wants and needs in front of her own. It’s what had got her caught up in all the mess with the Upside Down, what had brought her and Eddie together. He had wanted to do something special for her, and he knew how much Dustin meant to her. The kid was basically her little brother, he had thought they actually were siblings when they met.

 She had burst into the drama class, glasses slipping off the end of her nose and wearing scuffed sneakers. Dustin had actually yelped, gathering up his things as whilst she glared at him. “I know this club means a bunch but thats the second time this week Dusty? We’ve already missed the trailers and Steve isn’t gonna wait for us for..ever” Eddie had already been standing, his eyes felt like they were gonna pop out of his head as she offered a small smile. “Sorry to barge in but we’ve got a date with David Bowie.” Dustin had offered a sorry as he ran out the class, not bothering to wait for Y/n that had lingered, caught under something she couldnt quite place. Eddie had moved to stand in front of Y/n, towering over her as the rest of Hellfire watched. “Henderson never mentioned he had a pretty older sister” He was weird, Y/n had always known it. The two had sort of been friends but that was too long ago for either of them to remember. “That’s probably because I’m his babysitter, dingus.”

Back in Family Video, Eddie and Y/n browsed the isles. Eddie was paying more attention to Y/n, his eyes watching her whisper the films titles, hands sliding over the glossy covers. Today he had his pinky locked with hers, letting her drag him along as something new caught her attention. “So…yknow we were thinking about costumes?” Y/n nodded, her attention still not quite on Eddie as she read the blurb for some new tacky rom-com. “I know we always do couples, but why not add in a…not add in but i have a fun idea but it needs three of us.”

Dustin and Robin were watching from the counter, adding their own commentary to the pair. “I mean she’s literally got him by the pinky, Munson is quite literally wrapped around her finger.” Steve had finally appeared from the back store room, his comment making Robin and Dustin jump. Robin sighed, head in her hands once more, no longer having the energy to watch the happy couple. “How do you put up with this all the time Henderson?”  Dustin offered a smile, patting Robin on the head before continuing to watch the unwitting show in front of him. “Still no joy then?”

 “Nope, not a single iota, not even dingus numero uno could help, its hopeless.” 

“Speaking of hopeless.” Steve motioned towards the couple, a small smile growing on his face. 

Y/n had known for a while that Eddie wanted to include Dustin on their Halloween costume plans, but the opportunity to tease the boy was too good to resist. “Are you, Steve and Dusty finally going as the three stooges?” Y/n couldn’t help but laugh at Eddie’s deadpan face, standing on tiptoe to smash his face before wandering a bit further away, egging him on. “Y’know that movie we saw a few weeks back?” Y/n nodded, letting Eddie pull her back towards him. “You mean the one we were almost late for because you forgot?” That pulled a groan from Eddie, sent his eyes rolling as he frowned down at his beautiful but frustrating girlfriend. “When will you let that go? Anyway, i was thinking and me, you and Dustin would be perfect for Michael, Star and Sam? If you want…of course…if its dumb..” Eddie was cut off as he noticed the bright grin, the love soaked stare that had taken over Y/n. “We are so winning costume of the year, in your face Buckley!” 

Before she could stop him, Eddie had picked her up, twirling her around, his hands tight on her waist as she giggled uncontrollably. “Did i ever tell you that i loved you?” Finally Eddie had set Y/n down, ruffling her hair once before before squishing her face in his hands. “Only every five minutes!” Dustin answered, his grin falling as Eddie raised an eyebrow. Already racing towards him as Dustin hauled ass to the back of the store. Y/n chased after them, laughter taking the air from her lungs as she offered a smile to Steve and Robin. 

“Those two are idiots.”

so, first things first: big huge kudos to the actor who played Pran's dad. yall. i love Pran's dad. the actor really went "my character may not have a name, but he has big heart eyes for his wife!!!!" he didn't have to give us that, but he did, and i love him for it.

at some point, Pat's going to get him onto tiktok to watch something, and then Pran's dad is going to make a video that pretty much sums up into ":D i love my wife!! :D" and it goes viral. he's going to get a decent following of people being like "omg, he's so wholesome!!" and then he'll post something with Pat in it, and that's when the story idea REALLY takes off

-like that time a guy tripped over the set wires backwards into a bin

-you both glance at each other

-she basically turns red trying not to laugh, because if she breathes then she'd burst out laughing

-have to excuse herself

-when you get out of earshots her laugh is really contagious
