so i sent her a random enjonine fic i wrote on wattpad (this was like 2014) but turns out i forgot it had a sex scene in it and the next morning she wouldn’t stop laughing at me and i hid in my room and cried for an hour straight
good times, good times
#the only reason i thought of this#was because she called me this morning asking me if i remember it#she’s always been supportive of my writing and in so grateful for that#she still reads some of my fanworks#and non-fandom short stories and poetry#i love her so much

Super Moon
Notes: Back to writing poetry because the super moon got me feeling all types of things. Remember to reblog and comment if you enjoyed! 😊
I look up at the moon tonight
And I can’t help but think
Is he looking at the same moon
That I see at this very moment
Is it shining across the sea
Where you find serenity?
I wish I could see you and feel you
The way I do the moon
But the giant bright light in the sky
Is my only reassurance you’re not too far
But I can’t help but long for you
The way the moon yearns to illuminate the night
There won’t be a moon like this until 2037
I’ll be 38 and you 42
We will have lived beautiful lives
Ones that we are just beginning
I will wait for your hug and kiss
Like the rest of the world
Will be waiting for the next super moon

The Professor (Pedro Pascal smut inspired by SNL)
Title: The Professor Fandom: RPF: Pedro Pascal, Hot for teacher AU Rating: Explicit Characters & Pairings: Pedro Pascal (professor of Latin American Studies) x Reader (bedraggled PhD candidate) Word Count: ~2000 Summary: As if that SNL skit wasn't going to launch a thousand smut fics... As always, lovingly beta-read by @bs-fangirl. Additional notes below the cut.
Notes: This is my first "real person fic," may God have mercy on my soul. Additionally, my Spanish is virtually non-existent; I've relied heavily on Google Translate and asking my coworkers questions on the sly, my apologies for any errors! As we all know, this is not a story about actual human Pedro Pascal, but the fictionalized version which lives rent free in our heads. And as proper fan girl culture dictates, we keep this shit locked down. But just in case:
This note is for actual human Pedro Pascal and Pedro Pascal only. I don't know why you would click "Read More" on a post clearly labeled "Pedro Pascal, Hot for teacher AU" but if you have, I beg of you LOOK AWAY, SIR. LOOK AWAY. If you choose to proceed, I will not be responsible for any trauma you may suffer as a result. Thank you.
For everyone else, I give you:
The Professor
Professor Pedro Pascal was the head of the Latin American Studies department at your small college. You had never been in his classes as an undergrad–Latin American Fiction and Poetry, and a special seminar on the Magical Realism of Isabel Allende–but it was well known around campus that his family had fled Pinochet when he was a child, which granted him unsurprising street cred among your communist-leaning circle of friends. He had been appointed the interim director of the campus’s Literary Center–after his predecessor was ousted for exposing himself in a virtual meeting.
As the Center’s Graduate Assistant Director, it meant although he wasn’t technically your boss, you were suddenly spending an annoying amount of time working around the throngs of freshman girls who flocked to his office hours. You couldn’t really blame them. He was, if not an outright heartthrob, a reasonably good-looking college professor. A strong face, with a short, rugged beard, a striking Roman nose, and deep brown eyes with the most charming crow's feet. He had a lean physique, with a hint of softness at the belly, just this side of a “dad bod.”
His modest good looks combined with a cheerful disposition and a penchant for quoting the love poetry of Pablo Neruda were like catnip for liberal arts majors. And although you were a card-carrying bra-burning feminist, you weren’t entirely immune.
“Professor,” his office door was open, but you knocked on the frame.
Pedro looked up from the stack of resumes you had been sent to review before the selection panel for a new director.
“Coffee?”
“Mi angelita,” he sighed, rising from his desk to graciously accept the warm cup from your hands. “What time is the first candidate arriving?”
“Noon,” you said. “You, me, Dr. Monroe, the Provost, and Assistant Dean are sitting on the interview panel.”
Pedro looked at his watch.
“Shit,” he sighed. “I have Intro to Creative Writing at 9:30.”
“I’ll set up the conference room,” you said as he shoved his papers into his messenger bag, slinging it over his shoulder, still carrying the open mug as he raced down the stairs.
“Thank you, Angel. Thank you!”
It was a six month process to find a new director. Six months of staring across the conference table, chewing on the end of your pen, pretending not to be affected by the way he leaned in when you spoke and stroked his thumb across his lower lip in concentration. Or the obscene way he spread his legs in a comfortable chair while speaking with candidates in front of a panel of students.
And having to do it all over again when your first choice–a student favorite–declined the position, to stay in New Jersey of all things. You knew Pedro was relieved to have reached a conclusion; he didn’t care for the administrative duties or politics. He wanted to teach, to be with his students. You admired that about him, he appreciated your organizational skills (and the fact that when you made coffee it counted as a meal.) You worked well together, but now that was coming to an end.
It was past 9pm and you had already closed up the Literary Center for the night, but Pedro was still in his office, reviewing students’ papers.
“I’m done for the night, Professor,” you said. “Is there anything I can do to help you get out of here?”
“That depends,” he said, with a wry smile that had you convinced he was only half-kidding. “How’s your Spanish?”
“Hmm,” you said, stepping into the light of the desk lamp. “¿Dónde está la biblioteca? ¿Como estas? Bien, gracias. ¡Qué lluvia! And that’s all I’ve got.”
Pedro chuckled. “I’ve heard worse.”
“That and un tequila, por favor.”
“Tequila,” Pedro repeated, intrigued. He reached into the bottom drawer of his desk, pulling out a bottle of Patron. “That I can help you with.”
Your mouth fell open in surprise.
“Professor,” you deadpanned. “I don’t know if you knew this, but alcohol is not permitted in academic buildings.”
"Lucky for me," he said, picking up the bottle. "I have tenure."
You laughed and Pedro laughed; you offered to run downstairs to retrieve a pair of glasses and a salt shaker from the kitchen while he finished grading papers in record speed.
“I worry about these kids,” Pedro said, three shots deep. “I do! The moment they hear something the least bit troubling, they refuse to engage with the material. Our world exists in shades of gray. They want things to be ideologically pure, when what they need is to learn to discern. To question. To decide!”
“I understand what you’re saying, Professor,” you said.
“Pedro, please,” he interrupted you. “Pedro.”
“Pedro,” you repeated. “I agree, but there’s no reason we need to elevate and spotlight the same tired canon of bigots, abusers, and dead white men year after year when there is so much more out there.”
Pedro downed another shot and pointed an accusing finger at you.
“Look who’s talking,” he said. “Your PhD is in Shakespeare Studies!”
“I know,” you laughed, pouring yourself another glass. “I know, I’m a terrible person.”
“You are not,” he said, suddenly serious. “You have an incredible mind and the most beautiful way of looking at the world.”
You felt languid and relaxed and warm. You liked the way Pedro looked at you. There was something undeniably romantic about getting drunk in the richly furnished office, with its leather armchairs and oak bookshelves, debating the merits of Nietzsche and bell hooks.
“Okay,” you broke the silence. “Okay, here’s a fun fact you can pass along to your successor. There are 3 prints signed by Allen Ginsberg in this building, and you can see them all from this desk.”
“There’s the one on the wall,” Pedro said, pointing to the framed portrait hanging above the bookshelf.
“Yes,” you said, rising from your chair and moving to the other side of the desk. “And there in the hallway, on the right, that's an excerpt from "Howl" they set in the printshop downstairs.”
You perched on the arm of his chair to get closer to his eye-level, pointing through the open door. You slipped, nearly falling into his lap and he placed a hand on your back to steady you. He smelled amazing, like old leather and warm spices.
“And there, in the stairwell, you can just make out the top of his head on that linotype,” you explained. “Do you see it?”
“I do.”
When you turned your head, Pedro was looking at you. Perhaps it was the tequila, but you were almost certain he was staring at your lips, his eyes heavily lidded, smiling lazily.
“You look tired,” you warned. You should have gotten up to leave, but you didn’t want to. You didn’t want this warm, lovely feeling to ever end.
“Just thinking,” he said.
“About what?”
“Kissing you,” he said.
You were almost surprised; you had spent so much time trying to convince yourself that your semester-long flirtation was a one-sided puppy crush. You had been so busy with your research and recruiting and planning, you had forgotten somewhere along the way that you were a stone cold fox with tits and ass for days and enough sex appeal to blow the top off Mount St. Helens.
“You can,” you said, turning your body toward him. “I don’t mind.”
“I shouldn’t.”
“Fine then,” you turned to stand.
Pedro seized you by the waist, pulling you back into his lap and into a long, slow kiss. His lips were surprisingly soft and his mouth tasted like salt and lime as his tongue brushed into yours with careful, confident strokes.
“That was nice,” your eyes fluttered open as Pedro finally pulled away. “You’re a good kisser.”
“You, too,” Pedro said. “Again?”
You tilted your chin, touching the point on your neck, just below your ear. As Pedro leaned in, working the beginnings of a hickey into your neck, you guided his hands from your waist to your breasts. You pressed against him, moving to straddle his thigh.
“More?” Pedro asked.
“Yes,” you panted. You braced yourself on the back of the chair, one hand on either side of his head, grinding against his leg, feeling hot and wet as he kneaded your breasts with reverent appreciation.
“Mi amor,” he breathed.
“Pedro,” you held his face, nipping at his bottom lip.
“Dime, lo qué quieres.”
“Fuck.” His accent went straight to your cunt. You ran one hand up his thigh, groping at the crotch of his chinos.
Pedro let out an obscene moan and hoisted you up onto his desk. He slid his hands up your thighs, fingers slipping into your panties. He ran his fingertips through your folds, tracing circles around the swollen nub of your clit with an absolute shit-eating grin.
“Qué lluvia.”
You howled with laughter. “I know that one! I know that one!”
“A huevo.”
Pedro rose from his chair, bunching your dress up around your waist. You pulled his shirt free from the waistband of his pants, running your hands up the warm skin of his back.
“Want you,” you sighed. “Want you inside me.”
“Whatever you want, Angelita.”
Pedro pulled your underwear down to your ankles, pausing to retrieve a condom from the wallet in his back pocket, like an over-eager undergrad, pulling down his pants to roll it on. He pressed the head of his cock against your clit. You grabbed him by the ass, wrapping your legs around him to guide him into you.
Pedro flicked his hips into you with short, quick strokes, sending jolts of energy through your core.
“More,” you pleaded breathlessly. “Deeper.”
Pedro lifted your ankles onto his shoulders, pressing into you long and slow until you could feel him bumping against your cervix. You gasped, reaching behind you, scrambling for leverage, knocking the computer monitor off the desk.
“Oh no!” You turned, trying to catch it before it crashed to the floor.
“It’s okay!” Pedro said, taking your face in his hands to guide your gaze back to his eyes. “It’s a shitty computer. It’s fine.”
You moaned, letting your head fall back, grabbing for his chest with one hand as he fucked you.
“So soft,” he moaned against your ear. “So fucking good for me, Angel.”
“Give me your hand,” you said, guiding his fingers back to your clit. “Up and down, right there. Oh God.”
You grabbed Pedro’s shoulder to brace yourself.
“I’m close,” he warned.
“Not yet,” you pleaded. “Just a little more.”
You could feel your own climax building inside you. You just needed a little more to push you over the edge.
“Oh God!”
Pedro came inside you with a gasp as your inner walls clenched around him. He slowly withdrew, supporting your legs, and easing you onto your back, scattering papers and pens onto the floor. He kissed your neck and your breasts as his hands explored the curves of your body.
You woke the next morning on the couch in Pedro’s office. You were lying on top of him; your head on his chest. He had his arms around you, your head was pounding as you squinted into the daylight.
“We got fucked up last night?” you said.
“Yup.”
“It was nice."
"It was," Pedro agreed, kissing the top of your head as you blinked sleep from your eyes.
"What time is it?”
You grabbed his forearm, turning it so you could look at the face of his watch.
“Oh shit,” you gasped. “I have Freshman Seminar in half an hour.”
“I already missed my morning classes,” Pedro moaned, letting his head fall back against the armrest.
“Do you want to explain to Dr. Monroe why I can’t teach her class?” you said, rising from the couch and searching the office floor for your underpants.
“No,” Pedro said. “She scares me.”
You pulled your underwear back on, finding your bag, you used the satin scarf tied around the handle to cover the love-bites blooming on your throat and chest. You dabbed concealer under your eyes and added a fresh coat of red lipstick.
“Would you like to have lunch together? Not at the Caf. Somewhere nice, like a date.” Pedro asked, sitting up. He looked endearingly child-like with his bedhead and giant brown eyes.
You paused, checking your reflection in your compact mirror.
“Can we do that?” you asked.
“I don’t see why not,” he said. “You were never my student and after this week we won’t even work together any more.”
“Oh,” you nodded. “Yeah, that sounds nice.”
“I’ll pack things up here and meet you after class.”
You smiled. “I’ll see you then.”

things I would like to know about fellow writers
I was tagged by @dustdeepsea, thank you!! (:
Putting a cut in this because I'm very specific in some sexual language (not about my sexual history).
For this reason I'm too shy to tag anyone else, but if you see this and want to answer the questions, please consider yourself tagged by me.
Last book I read: The last book I finished must've been American Gods.
Greatest literary inspiration: I don't know. I like reading for reading and for learning, but no one that I really want to write like, and I feel bad for naming big names, still. JRR Tolkien, Douglas Adams, Diane Duane, Isaac Asimov (the short story Liar! has really stuck with me). And even then, that might influence how I used to write original fiction, but not at all how I write fanfiction, which I do almost exclusively now. I write far more original poetry than original fiction, and then ... I'm inspired by my mother, people in my community, all the music I listen to.
My fanfiction is a little inspired by my friends. I was going to link their a/o3 accounts but realized they may not want that. fghdfghdfg
Things in my current fandom I want to read but I don't want to write: Let's think of 3 for bg3 and 3 for fire emblem.
Vlaakith's defeat. - Idk enough about githyanki politics / how many "elite" forces (if any) are at her disposal.
Minsc's homecoming. - I feel like I'd have to play the first two games to be up to this.
He Who Was in control of his faculties but subbing very sweetly for Tav/Durge of any gender with bondage, hair pulling, overstimulation, spanking and the presence of a knife (I'd say knifeplay, but I don't mean bloodplay / cutting for him). - Reminder that this isn't a w/endy's, it's my blog.
Slowburn, longfic of Marianne moving to Faerghus with her eventual marriage to Dimitri. - Time.
Shura holding Kana for the first time. - I could write this. I won't.
Kink scene, free-use Hilda where her inner monologue is as complex as she is while still being wildly indulgent. - I started this wip; Hubert was also up for grabs in it. But it isn't happening.
Wait, also, Sylvain x Mercedes x Dedue starting a relationship with miscommunication and pining. - Planning this feels hard. fghdfg
Things in my current fandoms I want to write but I think nobody would be interested in them but me:
With the note that I know I have at least 5 enablers who will (probably?? fdghfgdhfdg) always express interest in my completion of a project even if the won't read it, and so "nobody" being interested applies to strangers:
Komira and Locke, either domesticity or sexual intimacy.
A fic where Wyll and Ulder talk and it results in reconciliation, and then a bigger rift, and then understanding (people really don't like Ulder).
My Blaiddyd Bastard oc Almanzor learning to let go of the hang-ups on sex his parents gave him and fucking my oc Peregrine.
My oc Fae as a Student AU longfic.
You can recognise my writing by: The temptation to insult my own writing is so, so strong, but I don't mean to insult anyone who reads my stuff and enjoys it so I have to be nice. Hm. I don't know. "The way I write dialogue / inner reflection" is vague, but it's all I've got.
My most controversial take (current fandom): You guys (gender neutral and vague) can't call that shit self-insert if it's a non-human Tav (or Durge). It's first or second person writing (often, and not even always lately???), and x Reader fic, but self-insert To Me means that either any reader or at least the author has to be able to picture themself Being Inserted into the story. I haven't seen 1 isekai situation using this tag, which isn't a requirement, but you're giving the self-insert tiefling-tails and backstories, which is fun, but that's not a self-insert to me.
Top three favourite tropes: Slowburn (or emotional slowburn, sexually complicated), Hurt/Comfort (emotional or physical, whatever), Battle Relationship.
What’s your current writing mood (10 – super motivated and churning out words like crazy, 0 – in a complete rut): How current is current? Because potentially 0/10. I'll say 4/10 though.
Share a random frustration: I hate psyching myself out of a project because I worry something won't make sense (and I should post it anyway) or that it won't be up to my personal standards for myself.

Random. But do you have any star wars fic recs ? Fics recs of any kind are welcome actually ^_^
Oh, uh, sure.
Let's see, I've mentioned @chancecraz a bunch of times, I love all their stuff, if I had to pick a favorite I'd say Of Queens, Knights, and Pawns but how does one really choose?
I've also mentioned @fialleril and Double Agent Vader, which really got me into the SWs fandom in the first place. I love everything I have ever learned, it hits me so hard in the feels each time. (I also really loved Sigyn's Saga if we're also talking not-SW stuff.)
I enjoyed The Desert Sun series by @blue-sunshine-mauve-morning. (I will be honest, I have only read the first series I have not started Rise and Fall.) It's engaging and fun and thoughtful.
doing it by my lonesome and staring down the barrel of the hot sun by magneticwave are two fun Luke/Din stories featuring appropriately cute Grogu. I also liked pages filled with scribbled ink, which is an epistolary Padmé/Obi-Wan fic that had me cackling. (their non-SW stuff is good too, I especially enjoyed just me against the sky)
Other...serious(?) recs include: The Wingless Dragon by husborth if you like being sad and horrified about Vader's bad choices. Food Scandal by Malicean for some situational hilarity and for lots of OC perspective on Imperial bureaucracy (my other weakness aside from politics). PRojects IN Controlled Environments by Beth Winters for Imperial R&D bureaucracy, more situational hilarity, and very relatable coworker nonsense.
More silly/fun premises include: Compromising by samvelg, which inspired me to write a (very different) Piett POV of Luke and Vader nonsense. Memo: Jedi Maintenance (The Care and Feeding of Your Jetii) by RainofLittleFishes is exactly what it says and what you would hope for from such a title. Luke Skywalker is Altogether Too Likeable by Mokulule is another Piett POV of Skywalker nonsense.
As far as Non-Star Wars recs
It would be a crime and sin if I didn't mention Embers by Vathara , an Avatar the Last Airbender fic which honestly changed my life and how my brain was shaped.
World Ain't Ready by @idiopathicsmile is a Les Mis fic I've gone back to a few times. The dialogue is just really good. I spend a lot of the fic laughing, and also screaming at the characters.
I fell absurdly in love with Second person familiar, I think because it tickles some part of me that just dies over linguistics, and I'm a fan of pretty much everything @jackironsides has done for The Witcher.
Salvage by @muffinlance is a very fun Avatar the Last Airbender fic about Zuko getting reluctantly adopted by Hakoda (it's so good).
Finding the Line by Miss_Lazy_Tuesday is a Batfam fic that sort of ruined me at one point, it's fine. (I enjoy their other stuff too.)
The Angel of Hell's Kitchen by MarbleGlove is a Daredevil fic. I don't really go here, but this was about social structures, bureaucracy, and doing the work, and we all know I can't help myself.
Reconstruction by rageprufrock is the story of Stephanie Rogers, but like, it's Pru writing it. So. Characters are great. World building is great. Tension and longing and grief are great. I cannot stress enough how good the academic and news article asides are. Like, it's good. Incomplete, but so good.
Ordinary Numbers by BootsnBlossoms and Kryptaria, a James Bond fic that I keep coming back to because I too would be a sucker for someone who sent me needlessly expensive gifts.
And This, Your Living Kiss by opal_bullets is a Supernatural fic about poetry. I am not in this fandom, but again, my weakness for language gets me every time.
ever fallen in love (on national TV)? by ganymede_elegy is a GoT Jonsa modern Bachelor AU and...guys I cannot express how much I Do Not Go here, and how much I still recommend this fic. Like, it's just...I don't know. It worked. In spite of me knowing nothing about GoT or The Bachelor. wtf
survival of the fittest by cywscross is a short Naruto fic about a very unpleasant adventure for Sakura and Shikarmaru that just...worked. As a story. Dunno, I just really like it.
I could be wrong, I could be ready by harryromper is a Harry/Draco fic where they are disasters and traumatized, and it is about healing and building houses as a metaphor for overcoming trauma, and it's fine, I'm fine.
eternity will be born from hope by theseviolentdelights99 is a Yuri!!! on Ice fic that is about a time traveling Yuuri who (you'll never guess) goes back in time and does bureaucracy in his hometown and his sport to help the people that he loves. The unreliable narrator is excellent, the social media asides are wonderful, and it's not complete but it is exactly my poison.
(Wow, this is so long and all over the place...)
#fic rec#I did not think I would find this many things#huh#please tell me if a link doesn't work#there are so many

Saw this on Reddit:
I take issue with the "barely edited" part -- I put as much care into my fanfic as I do anything else I write -- but the rest is accurate.
I've written two (original fiction) novels and spent years shopping one around to agents or small presses with absolutely no nibbles -- the best I ever got was some personalized (non-form-letter) rejections. And I have successfully published short stories and poetry and other things, and I'm sure people read them and maybe even liked them but I'll never know about it because whoever is reading those lit mags or zines or whatever have no way to get in touch with me about it.
Meanwhile, I have a tab open on my phone with my AO3 stats, and even for my quiet little account in a quiet little fandom, I can still watch my hits creep steadily up, plus the occasion kudo, and every comment I get absolutely makes my day. Like I honestly probably only have ten or twenty loyal readers, but I love all of them so much and it is so freaking gratifying that people appreciate my work.
I'm sure I'll write original fiction again one day -- I've got a couple half ideas rattling around in my head, and it would be undeniably cool to see a book of mine at the library or a book store -- but right now fanfic is so much more satisfying.

New Year's Ask Game for Fic Writers
To close out 2023…
1) What fic did you have the most fun writing this year and why? Or, if you can’t decide, what was most fun about writing this year for you?
It was a lot of fun writing the Masquerade story, because there was a lot to consider. Should I use my own voice or try to mimic someone else's? Should I write a story that I normally wouldn't take a chance on? Game-ifying fic writing makes it really exciting. And now it's fun to guess on everyone else's stories!
2) What’s a scene/story that you finished and felt “wow, I really accomplished that, that actually went so well”?
Chapter 13 of Out of Nowhere. I knew from the beginning that I'd have to write that angsty sex scene, and I felt like I was training for a marathon leading up to it. It had to balance anger and love, had to involve force but not be rapey. There were so many complex and competing forces in the scene, and I wasn't sure I could pull it off.
3) What helped provide the most inspiration for stories, if anything? Was it poetry? A song on repeat? A gorgeous gifset? A walk outside? A book you read that made you want to change everything? Whatever it was! Tell all.
Songs! Always songs. Murder ballads. Heavy metal opuses. Raw 2000s emo. Give me all of it.
4) What is something you want to share about what you’ve written this year? A particular line, a comment that made you feel really good, a scene that was difficult to write — you get to choose! What do you wish someone would ask you about when it comes to what you’ve written?
I tried to write novels back between 2012-2018. I wrote 2 YA fantasy novels and pieces of four others. But none of them ever felt complete. None of them gelled in my mind. I don't know why. I shelved them all. Then, I discovered the Gallavich fandom. I read the fics and a fire got lit inside me. And now I've written five novel-length stories. FIVE. And they all feel right! I can't thank this fandom enough for being supportive, inspiring, and transformative. I may not have a ton of fics, but completing a fifth multi-chap makes me feel like a superhero.
And to start off 2024…
1) Do you have any writing/creation goals for the year? What are they?
Finish Out of Nowhere, which will happen ... any day now!
2) Is there a fic or idea that you’re really excited to be able to continue to work on in the new year (shout out to my fellow fic writing folks who take forever to finish wips, sometimes it’s nice to be able to continue working on something even if you wish you’d gotten it done! Now you get even MORE time with it!)
I am exited to continue the @galladrabbles series No Sleep 'Til Nashville. It makes me giggle to put all the fandom tropes in there. It might go on for the entire year, who knows? There's a lot of story left to tell, and I have a lot of shenanigans planned.
3) What’s something new in your writing you want to try/are going to try? A different writing style? Different fandom? Darker works? Fluffier? Longer or shorter?
I might write more short stories this year. I might write a non-Gallavich original novel (if the idea strikes). All I know is that I'll always be writing something.
4) What’s something you love about your own writing that you will continue to appreciate in the new year?
I love creating suspense — in a scene, in a chapter, in an entire fic. I enjoy the challenge of making every scene sing, or at least having narrative tension. I don't see that going away. Here's hoping I can succeed!
Tagging, if you'd like to participate: @sweetperversiongirl @sweetbee78 @depressedstressedlemonzest @juliakayyy @notherenewjersey @metalheadmickey @creepkinginc @whatthebodygraspsnot @arrowflier @crossmydna

I wanna read those book reviews.). I am actively seeking out creatives in the LGBTQIA+ community who make the kinds of works that don’t get the attention or respect of mainstream queer culture. That said, FANE is all encompassing and we welcome submissions from peoples of all different walks of life (from CisHet to TransQueer, and everything before, in between, and after).
FANE is 100% volunteer. Everyone involved is donating their time and content. The digital version of the zine is available completely free. The print version will full color A4 Print-on-Demand by Lulu.com Any kind of profits made or donations received will go towards building an online presence, securing future hosting/domain related fees, etc.
Examples of what we’re looking for:
Music Reviews, Live Show Reports, Photography, Painting, interviews (both interviewers and those willing to be interviewed), indie film makers, queer activists/artists, anything that defies convention, short stories, poetry, anyone willing to share honestly their struggles with mental health or other health issues, anyone into body modification, anyone with an unconventional body structure comfortable showing their body and discussing it, anyone willing to share terrifying personal experiences they’ve overcome, comedic works as prose or illustration, sex workers willing to share what their lives are like. Anything & anyone who deserves their “15 minutes” currently denied by surface culture. Contributions don’t have to be small, and you don’t have to do any page layout/framing (we can set up the pages from your content/files). Aesthetic: glitchy, dark, dusty, ash, noise, industrial, goth, experimental electronics, metal, punk, esoterica…
Examples of what we’re NOT looking for:
Pornography, edgelord shit for the sake of edgelord shit, right wing/conservative bullshit, Racists, animal cruelty, white nationalist propaganda, Nazi sympathizers, homophobes, transphobes, sexists, and other generally shitty human garbage. This doesn’t mean journalistic articles about such things can’t find inclusion, just that I don’t want to print the actual things themselves. For legal reasons, we’re also not accepting fandom art, fan fiction, etc. We respect those of you who create such things, it’s just they’re not a good fit for us.
All submissions to FANE must be your original work or works you have the legal right to use. When submitting, you give FANE the right to reproduce your material in perpetuity within the context of magazine print runs, website/blog postings, publishing collected editions of the zine, etc. (we’re not going to sell your works as prints or shirts or mugs or any kind of similar shenanigans). You are NOT giving us exclusive rights to anything, and your works will always be yours to do with as you wish outside of the zine.
No matter what you’re submitting, we ask everyone for a photo of themselves in the portrait orientation. If you are uncomfortable sharing a photo of yourself, we can go with an artistic interpretation or simply a “No Photo Available” generic pic. There’s also a short questionnaire. Any question you don’t want to answer, you can put “No Comment” or something sassy, etc. The Bio bit should only be about a paragraph (2-5 sentences).
Name:
Age:
Pronouns:
Gender:
Location:
Primary Medium:
Other Mediums:
Bio:
Links:
For each visual artist that has contributed so far, I’ve created a Bio page for the issue. I don’t know how that will translate to written works (would make sense for poetry submissions, or long journalistic works, but probably not for short reviews, know what I mean?), but better to have the info/pic and not need it than the other way around.
Please make sure to include a direct link, or links, to your work. You can also send files via email, but keep in mind we’re not touching anything that looks shady (Archives, Executables, etc). Also be sure to tell us what it is we should be looking at, and what your contribution idea is (Example: Photographer who provides links to their photos and states they want to share new works for the zine.)
Questions? Suggestions? Contributions? You can contact me here on tumblr or use FANEmag at gmail. I’m working on other communication methods as well, but I’m an Elder Millennial so please be patient with me :)
Feel free to reblog/spread far & wide.
Here are some visuals from Issue 1 to give you an idea of what the overall “vibe” of the zine is. The full issue can be downloaded for free from FANEmag.com
Asked & Answered:
* Hey! What does the name FANE mean/stand for?
It’s a noun. It means a church or temple. I’m not a religious person, but the most spiritual I feel is when I’m submersed in the arts, hence the name choice. Major world religions aren’t exactly friendly to the LGBTQIA+ community, so the zine, in my head at least, is an alternate experience where people can find community, inspiration, and acceptance.
I’m a self deprecating sarcastic asshat too, so the fact it rhymes with “feign” as in “to feign interest in this boring zine” is absolutely intentional. As is the fact that it’s a four letter “F” word :)
* Who are you?
Hi, my name’s Rob, and I’m an alcoholic (recovering). I’m a married cisgendered gay white male who uses he/him pronouns living on the East Coast USA. I’m medicated for anxiety and depression, and I believe I may have undiagnosed ADHD and/or ASD. I’m an amateur creative that’s been doing the best I can for the last 30 or so years with zero professional training. I’ve put out a good chunk of experimental music, some of which is still available online (“Vermilion Sky” is my best if you go looking). I’ve also collaborated with other musicians, labels, etc. I’m currently working on histological and minimal photography, as well as graphic design and illustration (digital).

Top 5 Most Horrifying Cubicle Stories: A Fanfic Rec List
For @sickbaysaturdays, this seems like SUCH a fun event. Something the Murderbot Diaries fandom does very well is exploring the inherent horrors of Being A SecUnit, and part of that is dependence on cubicles for medical treatment. It's sort of a sickbay, but more dehumanizing! (De-person-izing?)
So here are some of my favorite horrifying cubicle repair stories.
-
Cubicle Cough by Skeletalcat
1,172 words. OCs, no canon characters. Not Rated, Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings. Corporation Rim employee POV.
Relevant tags: Sick Character, Despair.
All the secunits did it. They walked their strict, stoic patrols in perfect harmony, only ever interrupted by a quick uncomfortable clearing of their throats. Their helmets muffled the little noise into a sharp huff. None of my co-workers seemed to mind. I began thinking maybe constructs always did it, I just had never heard it over the chaos of my old contract. It was a shame, because, besides the coughing, the only other sound was blissful white noise.
The PINNACLE of the Despair December form, in my opinion. Short, sharp, horrifying in its implications. The SecUnits all catch a disease through the cubicle. One tech decides to do something to fix that.
-
2. Repair by Alex van Gore (avg)
1,887 words. Teen and Up, Graphic Depictions of Violence Cubicle Repair. Cubicle POV.
Relevant tags: Medical Horror, Robot gore, Identity issues, Body Horror, Body Modification.
A cubicle tries to fix what does not want to be fixed - a SecUnit, newly rogue, not yet Murderbot.
Screaming internally forever about this one. The cubicle is trying so hard to repair this SecUnit that’s not reading right! The visceral descriptions, the poetry of the gore, the pain of being put back together, the way the cubicle is so earnestly helping and believes itself to be safe. Horrific! Beautiful! The gore is real!
-
3. Trapped by Skits
397 words. General Audiences, Major Character Death (OC). SecUnit OC POV.
Despair December 2021 #3: Locked in a Cubicle It was getting colder.
Perfect sad little ficlet. A cubicle is supposed to be safe… and isn’t, necessarily.
-
4. Release by Alex van Gore (avg)
1,060 words. Teen and Up, Graphic Depictions of Violence Cubicle Repair. Cubicle POV.
Relevant tags: Rogue Cubicle, Blood and Gore, Medical Procedures, robot gore, Body Horror, Body Modification, Cubicle is trying its baby best
A cubicle is tasked to fix something it doesn't understand, and in trying to help the incomprehensible becomes rogue itself.
Less horrifying. Not not horrifying, but less. Sweet, almost cute, in a messed up way. (Still messed up in a very fun and creative way. Still Medical/Body Horror.) Cubicle wants to HELP. Cubicle knows what clients do to SecUnits :(
-
5. Hard Reset by Skits
2,538 words. Teen and Up, No Archive Warnings Apply. Murderbot POV.
Relevant tags: Memory Loss, Memory Alteration, Body Horror, Non-Consensual Body Modification.
Company technicians attempt to wipe the memory of a SecUnit that was involved in a war crime.
It resists.
Okay, most of the repair here isn’t actually done by the cubicle, but 1) a cubicle features and 2) it’s real good and DEEPLY creatively horrifying, so it counts!
Takes place in Skits’s “Reclaim the Sky” AU, but except for a few lines, reads as pretty canon-compliant as well, and does REALLY interesting things with SecUnit repair and how Murderbot might have been put in a position to hack its governor module in the first place.
-
Bonus: Unwound Assumptions by Thylacine_Wishes. Doesn’t actually take place in a cubicle at all (instead, it’s in ART’s MedSystem), but oh my GODDDDDDDDD the gore! The horror! The pain! EXQUISITELY done in the most disturbing and horrific way possible. I had to read this through my fingers like I was watching a horror movie and I mean that as praise. Graphic depictions of violence, Major character death, Medical horror to the highest degree. Three isn’t sapient and ART is going to prove it. I’ll let the tags speak for themselves: “Vivisection, Body Horror, to prove this machine isnt a person ill simply take it apart, Hurt No Comfort, okay but what IF other constructs arent sapient.”
-
Happy Sickbay Whump Saturday!

Okay okay okay *inhales deeply*
First of all: I'd like a male character, if platonic or romantic is irrelevant to me and I'm leaving that up to you.
So my personality is pretty bubbly I'd say, I can talk a shit ton and keep a conversation going as long as I'm interested in it, if I'm not you'll most likely notice bc I'm not good at hiding my non exited interest in things (and I don't want to hide it either). I'm out going, I love to meet new ppl - both irl and online. But I can also listen. Like sitting still and keeping eye contact is not something I can do but I can stare at a wall and listen to people for hours - I forget most of it the second they end their sentence but that's bc my short term memory is trash (thank you social media, you ruined my brain for good)
I love art. No matter what type of art. Poetries, stories, painting, music whatever it is I love it. I also love my hyperfixations and will teach you the lore of whatever it is that's stuck in my head - I usually send like 10 minutes voice messages to my bestie just rambling about whatever's going through my head. I love to watch the stars, out of my friend group I'm the star (my childhood bestie is the moon, my other bestie's the moon) so that only makes sense ig
My personality type is ENFP if that helps idk.
My hobbies are bouldering, skating, painting, writing uhhh going on late night drives w das homies. I design and sew clothes, I create OCs (sometimes) I'm super interested in fashion bc that shit's simply my thing. I know how to style stuff to make it look good (my friends literally ask me for advice sometimes which makes my lil fashion heart bloom, I love to channel my inner Velvette)
I'm pretty self reflected and self aware, I curse a LOT (trying my best to not write "fuck" or "fucking" in every sentence, it's hard) I am confident mainly bc idc what ppl think about me, like fuck em who r they to judge?
I have short, messy brown hair, green eyes and fucking pale skin (basically a vampire at this point) before I get tan I get my skin burned bc my skin's sensitive af. I do have freckles though they're more visible during summer. I'm 5'3 ish, dress like your typical skater punk and love to wear eyeshadow (brown eyeshadow simply looks good on me)
People say I'm funny so I'm gonna say I'm funny. Uh I think that should be it.
Fandom: Helluva Boss
Blitzø!! (Romantic)
After knowing you for a while (not enough we must be friends for life shawty) we are very Blitzø coded.
Which is why you need him to be your partner in crime!!
100% rants to you about his love for horses
Will get all lovestruck when you take him horse riding!!
"I had no clue I could fall in love with you anymore. But holy fuckin' hell babe... I'm going to suck the shit outta your dick tonight."
Your personalities mesh so well together!!
He's your hype man!!
And you're his!!
"Yeaaa!! You get him babe!!! That's my boyfriend you know. Did I mention I suck his dick every night? Fuck him up danger dick!!"
Both of you forgetting literally everything. It's so bad please take either Millie or Moxxie with you when you're on missions.
This is the both of you -> (´・ω・`)?
"Wait what were we gonna do?"
"I don't remember."
"Fuck- Moxxie what are we doing?"
Adores all forms of your art. Thinks your patchwork is so sick!! Your painting and writings too!! He loves all of it!!
"Holy shit- You made that jacket? Babe. Can you make me one?"
He finds your sense of fashion so hot. The whole vibe is so hot to him. Just watching you walk around all relaxed and confident has him all black in the cheeks and flushed. (Cause they have black blood see what I did there hehe ( •̀ ω •́ )P )
"Fuck. Your outfits make you look so hot..."
Doesn't mind listening to your ramblings but he must have his turn to ramble too!! ♪(^∇^*)
"Wait so the British man- kills kids?? Slow down- start again what is this about a robot bear-"
Seeing as me and him have the same MBTI type (ENTP gang pull up) You will get along just fine with him.
Please please please please I beg of you get into debates or arguments with him, spice up your life. I'm saying this with personal experience that if you don't jokingly bicker with each other shit gets so boring so fast.
Besties that are dating vibes.
Thinks that your skating is so cool too.
"Do a flip!! Oh shit he did a flip-"
You swear a lot? He swears a lot. Don't worry about it.
"FUCK FUCK FUCK- Ohh shit!! MOXXIE GET YOUR FLAT ASS IN HERE RIGHT NOW!! OR I'LL CUT OFF MY OWN DICK AND IMPALE YOU WITH IT FOR FUCKS SAKE!!"
Wants you to do makeup on him but is too scared to ask.
Steals your clothes I don't make the rules.

Fanfiction Writer Bingo - Three Bingos!
Tagged by @voxofthevoid. The scrungiest writer I know. Like a wet cat noodle, all bite and scratches.
Mine
Fandoms I Write For
Sasaki to Miyano
Harry Potter (didn't think I'd be on that train again, but here I am 1.5 years later apparently)
Fandoms I've Written For
Vocaloid
Hetalia
K Project
Code Lyoko
Haikyuu
Yuri on Ice
Detroit Become Human
The Royal Tutor
Natsume Yuujinchou
Bungou Stray Dogs
Bleach
The Sandman
Trigun Stampede
So as you see, I got into fanfic writing because I'm a weeb. And sometimes, western property gets mixed in.
About The Boxes I Didn't Pick
Didn't have a Wattpad phase. I believe I have one or two burner accounts to cross-post one project to see what engagement and the readership was like. I have no intentions of diving further into that site when AO3 is the best fic home for me.
I have a weird relationship with fluff. Writing it actively tries to kill me (no exaggeration, I can count on two hands the number of times I've nearly died while writing it and I'm not taking many chances). While I find it cute to enjoy, it's not my go-to for enjoyment unless there are additional genres/tropes playing into it. It seems the most palpable way I can enjoy it without dying (literally) is combining it with comedy, because laughter is the best medicine.
The only "outline" I do is a short, abridged scribble of the main reason why I'm writing the story. And then I finish the rest of it, beginning to end, through vibes alone. I used to hardcore outline until I realized it doesn't work for me. Outlining feels like I've already written the story, and then I get disappointed when I actually have to write it. So I just skip that entirely and adjust as I go.
Fanfiction, much like poetry and screenplays, is a writing form. It has its own rules and conventions of what makes a fanfic, and the look of it is slightly different than a traditional short story to novel you see in non-fic spaces. I see it that way, because I don't see it as a genre. You can stuff any genre into fanfic, and it's still fanfic. It can be long or short or whatever it wants to be. What differentiates this form from non-fic work is primarily the leeways that fics offers, that other non-fic types struggle to do.
Gets ideas in the middle of the day.
Has written fics while drinking a virgin mojito. No clue what being drunk is like.
Needs water to write because I'm reaching out loud. Coffee makes me tired, and I don't like the taste. Tea also tastes bad, unless it's fruity. But if I'm having fruit tea, I rather play games.
I had aspirations to go pro one day. Until I found out a few years ago I don't have to go pro to tell the stories I want to tell or to reach the readers I want. And my style of writing and storytelling is not commercial (in western publishing), and that's alright with me.
Tagging (softly): @duplicitywrites, @feu-eau, @flowercrown-bard, @rebrandedbard, @afusiek, @fatexweaver, and @markala5

➤ ─── ☆ Extras
⋕ I really love OCs!! If you have any, (please) feel free to tell me their entire lore anytime! ♡
⋕ Before you ask— no, I have no ships. I just like to reblog whatever's on my dashboard
⋕ I love calling people by petnames but not in a weird or non-platonic way
⋕ My first ever work was posted in Wattpad. It was a horror-drama story about a deceased girl haunting her murderer. Had to give up on it due to my poor writting skills, plus the severe social anxiety I used to have. But now I'm healed, if you're wondering <3
⋕ I speak both portuguese and english, but all of my works will be in english so it can reach more audience. I'm trying to learn russian but I'm pretty sure I'm gonna give up on it.
^ Edit: I did give up on it, now I'm learning swedish and I don't plan to give up on this one, it's actually quite fun to learn ^_^
⋕ I LOVEEE insects and bats!! My favorite insects are moths and my favorite bat species are the Desmodus rotundus ♡♡♡
⋕ Despite my frequent use of religious symbols in posts, I am not a religious person. Not saying I'm an atheist nor that I do believe in something. My beliefs simply do not fit into any labels. Yet, please don't take it as something offensive. Religion is beautiful to me and I was never intentionally disrespectful to one of them
⋕ I've been a huge horror fan ever since I was a toddler (probably has something to do with me being an adrenaline junkie lol), any type or subgenre is very enjoyable and comforting to me. My favorites are the supernatural, psychological, apocalypse that includes infection/mutation/transformation of living beings and found footage ones. And I love love LOVEEE body horror, a lot of my ocs carry that aspect :3 :3 :3 :3
^ Talking about that, I am absolutely feral for horror aus of my fandoms
⋕ I fucking love zombies
⋕ And vampires, but zombies are superior (oh, how much I love gross creatures :(( ♡)
⋕ My mbti is either ENFJ or ENFP, I don't know which one!!
⋕ My favorite colors are red and green
⋕ I'm a dangerous combination of procrastination and perfectionism
⋕ I suspect I might have alexithymia, synesthesia and pica
⋕ Currently obsessed with Naruto 😿

I started realizing I liked writing around 1st-2ndish grade
The first story I made was called “How to Make Friends” . . It was more so a bit more non fiction, but I might do a remake to compare how different my mind has changed lol
Poetry, nonfiction, fiction, fable, fantasy, adventure, short story, comedy, autobiography, comics, action, romance, mythology. . More of them are incomplete than complete though
Fantasy, poetry, adventure, and comedies
I write more poetry than anything else, so I daydream the tropes. I have like a lot of tropes, but my current obsession is ‘Ray of Sunshine’ aka the Golden Retriever x ‘the Gremlin’ or the cat, I also like to call them yellow and purple
Character development
A Pinkie Pie, but is going through an existential revolution every week. . . I kinda forgot what characters are like that, but the closest OC I have to that would have to be ‘???’ because she's still shrouded in mystery
Kiawe without a doubt. He has Can flirt like it's his second nature, I can't. He can enter a conversation naturally, while I can only listen in and think up my own opinions in my head.
I have yet to kill off any of my characters
My ‘Alice in Wonderland’ novel that still has yet to be named at the moment
I've made little bits of fanfics of an oc if that counts
‘As the’, ‘like a’, ‘he/she said/thought to himself/herself’
I have some run-off sentences, and I have great diction!
I cannot for the love of me, write about romance. So I've started reading some romance novels for a different novel that iI'm working on
Writing everytime I have an idea, influence, and motivation
From Youtube, my drawings, writing prompts, daydreams, real life situations, and other stories/fanfiics
It's a romance fantasy novel, and the OCs that are being starred are from a fandom having nothing to do with my story
“Its not impossible, it's just a challenge!” *I think I got from Draculara in Monster High*
“I know it's hard, and it feels impossible. But that's today, tomorrow you'll be in a different place in life”
Write, type, and scribble everything that comes to mind down on something
Writer's Ask Game

20 Fanfic Questions
@ryqoshay tagged me in this (yeah! answering questions is fun); if you are reading this and write fanfic, consider yourself tagged. I also like reading other people's answers.
How many fics do you have on Ao3?
105. Just broke the 100 barrier recently.
2. What's your total AO3 words count?
933,098
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Mostly Love Live. I'm excited about Wednesday and Wenclair, but I've only written one short fic and one unfinished LL crossover so far there. Have also written (crossovers with Love Live): Star Trek, Monthly Girls Nozaki Kun, Little Witch Academia and (pre JKK terfdom) Harry Potter.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Casual Lunacy (complete) NicoMaki College Theatre Coffeeshop Werewolf AU, with Pablo Neruda poetry and Fangs, a musical adaptation of Dracula on the side. Maki's a werewolf, Nico's Nico, Rin's also a werewolf, Maki gets grounded, at least one universe cracks open, and all this happens before opening night.
Idol Protection Program (one shots) Present and future μ's. Nico (Idol) and Maki (Doctor) sneak off and get married, have two small children, DIa and Ruby, and end up hiding out from fame in Numazu. Lots of non linear short fics, some mainly with Aqours characters. Lots of shenanigans.
Parent Trap (ongoing) The official summary: Dr. Nishikino Maki is a single mother, not in search of anything besides a few quiet moments. Yazawa Nico is a singer on the rise who did a favor for an old friend. Are they more connected than they realize?
tl;dr Famous Nico and single mom Maki try to get together, but parents and paparazzi keep intruding,
What Are You Doing New Year's Eve (complete) My first Hallmark/Lifetime movie style Christmas fic. Doctor Maki Nishikino has new neighbors, celebrity singer Nico Yazawa and her siblings. HOA president Eli Ayase is not happy about someone famous in the neighborhood. Maki's business partner, Hanayo Koizumi is a HUGE Nico Ni fan. With her limited dating experience, how will Maki navigate all this extra holiday bustle?
Moonlight Becomes You: Apocalypse Midnight Dance Party (ongoing) Los Angeles: Maki's a DJ, Nico's an actress, Eli's a werewolf, we have BOTH μ's and Aqours, plus time travel, pizza, dancing, selkies, fallen angels, prophets, whatever the heck Hanamaru is, and a Mari party.
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Yes. First off, I think it's polite to respond, although I understand when authors don't. Mostly, I reply because I'm grateful when people take the time to interact. For Casual Lunacy, as sprawling as it is, it was a big help to me having a several regular commenters who helped me realize if things were unclear or if there were characters they wanted to know more about.
I don't get many comments now so there's an extra bounce in my step when someone posts one on a story.
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
The Star Trek ones end on deliberate cliff hangers with characters actively endangered due to the format.
Perilous Pastel is one of the rare times I just let the characters be upset. Nico is not in the Christmas spirit, Covid has cancelled her tour, and she's feeling useless. There are also a couple of other Idol House stories that deal with bullying and rumors: Rooftop Run-In and Protect All Idols
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
What Are You Doing New Year's Eve, my first Christmas movie based fic, I think, because it has an actual ending. You get the whole rom com experience in a neatly wrapped package.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I have gotten some really awful comments on fanfiction.net. And sometimes, but only sometimes, I get a sense that certain people do not enjoy my NicoMaki perspectives.
9. Do you write smut. If so what kind?
Nope. I much prefer setting a mood to graphic descriptions. Plus, I think I'd be pretty bad at writing smut.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
I love crossovers. Reading and writing them. My theory is the more crossovers I write, the more people who might fall in love with Love Live ; ) For craziest, I think it was Teenage Mutant Ninja Idols, my Love Live X Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle one, where thanks to a Tumblr vote, *spoiler*, all the Love Live characters involved were werewolves. I want to revisit it.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Don't know.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Not aware of one.
13. Have you ever cowritten a fic before?
Yep. Adventures Of The U.S.S. Helicon
I'd been wanting to collaborate and vnvDarkangel and I were chatting about Maki as a Chief Medical Officer and general Star Trek lore one night on Twitter and decided to dive in. So far, we have five full episodes and one in progress.
14. What's your all-time favourite ship?
NicoMaki. I love their dynamic. It resonates and makes so much sense to me. I started reading NicoMaki and Love Live doujins, then fanfic, then watched the anime. As a demisexual, I get excited about media when it has a relationship I understand: NicoMaki, Korrasami, Wenclair. But NicoMaki actually got me writing. First major project was filling in the gaps I thought the anime had left: Choreography: Steps To A First Date and The Dance: Lead Me To I Love You.
15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
*sighs* technically, I've started the sequel to Casual Lunacy, but I'm wary of picking up that story again. I am reluctant to mess with the original.
More practically, Parent Trap keeps getting more involved. The original pace in my head had more dramatic flareups, but they seemed fake-y so I followed what was building between the characters and it's turning into more of a slice of life story, which could continue indefinitely. But I also want to give the readers closure so I've been mulling plot arcs and character dynamics. A lot.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Conversations. I do love reading snappy patter so I put a lot of effort and thought into the dialogue I write for my stories.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Describing settings. I'm used to theatre scripts. We build sets rather than describe a room. I always go through a draft specifically to add more of a picture. I also research fashion to know what the characters are wearing.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I could maybe manage French. I do strive to use Japanese honorifics properly when the fic is actually set in Tokyo or at high school. I sometimes throw in poetry but drop a translation in the notes.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Buffy. I needed to ease my way into No Buffy when it was cancelled so I wrote a Willow Kennedy Tara Oz fic. It's not posted anywhere. It was before I discovered there was fanfic out there online.
20. Favourite fic you've ever written?
I'd like to say Casual Lunacy but it's too long to reread in one sitting. Which I sometimes do with my Christmas fics when I need cheering up or reminder that I have written some fun and cool things. My favorite of those is probably Santa Cutie And The Christmas Cookie Queen because it has all of μ's and is darn fun. I took a chance on magic and whimsy and it went really well. The μ's personalities fit into their individual roles, everybody gets some romance, and Eli is as much of an obstacle as she ever is in canon. Christmas and Maki really is a magic combination; Nico adding that essential heart eyes Idol sparkle.
If you've read this far, do you have a favorite of my fics? Or one you're now wanting to try? I'd really like to know.
