Every single one of the bat kids wants Dick’s approval. The older brother’s adoration and affection.
Damian has currently stolen it because he asks for it, and he’s a kid. The newest member.
The older ones, with murkier histories, with “it’s complicated” relations with Dick don’t want to show how much they want it, and are secretly in a competition with Damian to win back their older brother.
All their plans and strategic wars result in atleast three felonies, and almost always include arson.
The only person who doesn’t participate is Barbara, because she has to be the only one holding them back from destroying everything and uses these incidents as blackmail against them when she needs a favour.

“Do you trust him?” Jim asked.
“Yes,” said Batman, unhesitating.
He didn’t know if he would ever like Red Hood. He didn’t know if he would ever be able to like working with him. He wanted to arrest the man. But if Batman trusted him, that would have to be enough for Jim.

“So,” Jim said, “are you one of Wayne’s new kids?” Because only siblings acted that way toward each other, and it seemed like every time Gotham turned around, Bruce Wayne was adopting more kids. It was a reasonable question.
“What?” Jay asked. “No, I’m—” He paused. Very slowly, his head tilted as he looked over Jim’s shoulder in the most obvious way he possibly could.

Finding a New Perspective by njw
“I got this, Hood.” Red Robin sounds annoyed as he arcs and twists through the air, kicking one henchman into another and wrenching the gun away from a third while simultaneously retracting his grappling line and then launching it to catch another unwary henchman. Just, how?
“I can see you do,” Red Hood says, and wait. Was his voice always that deep? Is he… Maya squints. Is he staring at Red Robin’s ass?
She blinks, then studies the line of sight more closely. Maybe he’s just checking out Red Robin’s kneecaps, in preparation for shooting at them? That seems more his style. Sexual attraction is kind of confusing and she still doesn’t totally believe Tosh that it’s actually as big a thing as people make it out to be—seriously, do other people really spend that much time thinking about it? Sounds fake but okay.
But no, Red Hood’s helmet is totally pointed at Red Robin’s ass. Huh. That’s new.

What are your thoughts on the “Party Time Jack!” AU? Got any headcanons or delightfully dark ideas for it?
Ah yes, the classic Party Time Jack AU, as heard and seen in this post on the official Sunny Day Jack tumblr. There’s also this fun picture Sauce drew on their now gone public twitter. Credit, as always, for their amazing art goes to them.
Tumblr media
Remember to always credit artists when they are generous enough to give permission to share their art like this, folks. Just as importantly, don’t share stuff they don’t give permission to share, like the private posts on the Snaccpop Patreon. Sauce and the team are very kind and deserve our support. For just $3 you too can have a programmed version of Jack in the form of Sleepy Time Jack’s newest demo.
Now back to Party Time Jack.
This AU is just a fun little parody of FNAF and has no set continuity right out of the gate. As we can hear from the audio drama, there are two ways the story about animatronic Jack and his sunshine could start, both very appealing in their own right.
Oh, I just realized that the non-English and hard of hearing members of the fandom wouldn’t be able to enjoy the audio drama and might lose out on some of the fun. Well, since I’ve already done a couple transcripts, such as for the interview with the psyche consultant, his monologue to the person with the knife in front of the mirror, and the villainous threatening monologue that you can hear after you beat the demo and over here on the official twitter... how about I give transcribing Party Time Jack a shot too?
Disclaimer: I have auditory-processing disorder, so this transcript might have an error or two despite my best efforts. Please let me know if you see any so that I can correct them. Thank you!
Also, as always, remember that this series is for Adults Only. This post is going to go some very dark and disturbing places, as well as contain lots of spice that is not for minors. Just because Jack is an animatronic in this AU doesn’t mean that he can’t show his sunshine just how much he loves them after all~
...
Party Time Jack Transcript
(Slow footsteps.)
(Sudden mechanical grabbing sound.)
Jack: Well now… What do we have here? If you came for a show, I’m afraid you’re a bit late, friend. We’re closed for the night. You’ll have to come back tomorrow.
(Electronic noise of data being processed.)
Jack: (faintly flustered) Oh. Oh my, we’re closed now, aren’t we? I’m sorry, I guess time got away from both of us. (chuckle)
Jack: (concerned) Where are your friends? Do you have any family I should alert? If you have a PPID, I can bring up and contact any persons you have registered under your emergency contacts, and we can send you on your way.
(A brief pause.)
Jack: (taken aback) What’s a PPID? (normal cheerful tone) That’s your Party Play ID card of course. Every guest is issued one at the door. They manage your arcade credits and e-ticket balance, as well as your prepaid activity passes and party play guest account. If you have yours on you, I can look at your account right now and-
(Pause.)
Jack: (taken aback) Oh… I see… You weren’t issued one. (uncertain tone) Are you… the guardian of a child attending then? Perhaps you’re looking for-
(Pause.)
Jack: I see… You attended on behalf of a child, but are not a guardian. (uncomfortable tone) Right. Well… That certainly makes things a bit more complicated.
Jack: Unfortunately, I’m not permitted to access personally identifying information for non-guardians and non-familiar guests. I’m afraid you’ll have to come with me then. I’ll escort you to security, and we can figure out what to do with you until then.
(Whirring noise followed by a click and rustling fabric.)
Jack: (regretful tone) Please do not resist. I hate to be mean… but you are here unlawfully. Trespassing on private property after hours is not only a felony, but strictly against our guest and attendance code of conduct. If you do not comply, I will have no choice but to engage level two security protocol: potentially hostile non-compliant guest procedures. You really wouldn’t want me to have to do that, would you?
(Pause.)
Jack: (relieved) Great. Thank you so much for understanding. I promise, we’ll get you home safe and sound.
(Electronic error noises with mechanical stuttering, whirring, and popping.)
Jack: But… (creepy glitchy, breathy voice) Then again… you haven’t had a chance… to play with us… have you?
Jack: (normal cheerful voice) I thought not. It’d be a real shame to send you home just like that.
Jack: (excited) There’s so much to do and see. How about we make a little deal, just us two? I’ll have lots of fun with you… if you promise to behave, and keep it our little secret. Wouldn’t that be so fun… to have a secret just between you and me?
(Pause.)
Jack: We have cake, balloons, games… everything you could ever even need! And as long as you promise not to tell anybody else… I can show you everything. It can be all special, just for you! I never get to spend special one-on-one time with anyone… so you’d be the only one ever! That would make me so happy! Wouldn’t you be happy too?
Jack: And you know… only best friends have secrets like that, so that would make us best friends already! If you think about it… we’re already so close. And who knows? Maybe we’ll get even closer. Wouldn’t it be great to become special best friends too?
Jack: (chuckle) We only have so long until we’re open again. Best not to think too much about it now. When we open again (creepy glitched voice) they’ll take you away from me (normal cheerful tone) so let’s get a move on.
Jack: (glitched voice) I’ll keep you somewhere very safe. They won’t find you there.
(Plastic scraping sounds. A click then an electronic beep. Dull, echoing metallic thumps getting louder. Plastic scraping and sliding, clicking. More metallic thumps fading away. A brief silence then sudden whirring electronic sounds and a click, followed by the clattering of something small, metal, and hollow falling.)
Jack: (curious/cautious) Hello? (surprised/alarmed) You! You there! What are you doing? (slightly concerned) You know, it’s awfully late to be snooping around. It’s so dark and there’s nobody here. You might get really hurt if you aren’t careful.
(Plastic scraping, clicking.)
Jack: (chuckle) (cheerful tone) Don’t worry! You’re perfectly safe here with me. I would never let anything happen to you. My job is to make sure all our guests are taken care of, even after hours. My name is Sunny Day Jack. What’s yours?
(Pause.)
Jack: It’s very nice to meet you- (electronic glitch) (distorted, stilted robotic tone) identifier tags unknown - memory disk space low. (normal voice) Meeting new friends is always great and- (glitching mid-word, distorted voice) -it’s been so long since I’ve seen anybody around.
Jack: (normal voice, panicked tone) N-n-not that I’m complaining or anything! (nervous) I’m fine here. It’s just… just some routine maintenance. (attempted cheerful tone) As soon as our amazing tech crew figures out what’s wrong with me, I’ll be back out there where everyone else is.
Jack: Sure… it’s been a few months, yeah… b-but that just means it’s only a matter of time now! Until then, all I have to do is be patient.
Jack: (curious) So… What are you doing down here anyways? Are you lost? (encouraging) That’s alright if you are. Everyone gets lost from time to time, and I just so happen to know that this room locks from the inside. You’ll be fine here as long as you don’t leave.
Jack: (concerned) Still… it’s not very good for you to hang out while we’re closed. I’m afraid you won’t be able to leave on your own until opening at (distorted creepy robotic tone) 6:30am. (normal voice) Security protocols dictate that all entrances and exits be sealed for optimal compliance w-with (distorted voice) area code (normal voice) l-law.
Jack: If you’d like, I could alert the authorities of your presence… but you could get into big trouble for that, can’t you? And… I’d hate for that to happen, wouldn’t you?
Jack: Maybe… I could help you. You seem nice. I’d hate to stand by with a friend in need. (uncomfortable tone) Of course… I-I can’t leave here. (frustrated) I would know, I’ve tried. Only staff can unlock the doors, so… If you could get in, you probably have a key card… right?
(Pause.)
Jack: (relieved sigh) Oh great, thank goodness. I was beginning to think they’d forgotten all about me down here.
Jack: (nervous) No! I-I mean… no. They wouldn’t. That… that was a joke. (nervous chuckle) I-if you let me out, I can make sure nobody finds you. It’ll be our little secret, I promise. I’ll make sure you’re safe. And in return… what if you be my special friend? That sounds like a fair trade, right?
Jack: (hushed voice) Nobody has to know you came here, and you won’t have to worry any longer… I’ll take good care of you.
(Pause.)
Jack: (cheerful) Alrighty! I’m lovin’ the “can do” spirit!
Jack: (coaxing) Now… I’ll need you to do something very brave for me… and I know it’ll be hard, but you can trust me, I promise. Give me the keycard? I’m going to hold onto it for you. It’ll be right here if you want it again… but if someone catches us, I’d hate for them to find you with stolen property. Better me than you, right?
(Pause.)
Jack: (relieved sigh) There you go. Thank you so much for trusting me… You won’t regret it.

Two Halves of One Horror Story
A great audio drama isn’t it? As you can tell, Jack meets the listener (presumably his sunshine) for the first time in two wildly different circumstances. This makes sense for a non-canon what if fun AU. There’s no canon continuity to speak of and is just a fun parody of both Sunny Day Jack and Five Nights at Freddy’s.
Though it would be sinister if this animatronic Jack was the same one both times.
Picture this scenario... Unlike in the regular universe where Jack would never hurt his sunshine, that’s not the case for this animatronic. A glitch in his programming makes him want a special best friend, so he talks an intruder who stayed after hours into staying with him. He promises he’ll keep the intruder someplace very safe where no one will find them...
Perhaps the second half of the audio drama isn’t an alternate meeting, but the aftermath to the first half. The pizza place was haunted by reports of people disappearing after hours, creating scandals. The owners tried to cover things up, but when Jack’s glitches got worse, they had to take their star down to the basement to try and fix him. Problems with his memory were the biggest issue, making him forget about important things, such as what he was supposed to be doing. Unfortunately, he was never fixed before the pizza place went out of business due to lawsuits... and investigations.
Seems as though an accident caused a body to be unearthed in a previously hidden room of the pizza place. Cause of death? Dehydration. They were trapped in that room and no one could find them in time. The hidden door was eventually found, locked from the outside.
Funny enough there was no signs of violence. In fact, the room was decorated for a party, complete with long-deflated balloons and some of the prizes from the arcade. There were traces of food left behind such as cake and pizza, but not enough cans of soda and bottles of water for the poor person to remain hydrated. It seems whoever locked them up there was treating them well, but perhaps just forgot about them...
The other missing persons have yet to be found, but the scandal was enough to sink the pizza place. Of course, rumors spread that the other missing people are still in the building, hidden away and forgotten by whoever locked them up in there.
Urban explorers then break into the run down pizza place to take videos and post what they find online. Unfortunately, it seems the animatronics were not deactivated... and these clowns are not as friendly as they used to be. Dangerous glitches affected the rest of the SunnyTime Crew as well.
The explorer is forced to flee and hide in the basement to escape the animatronic chasing them. During their exploration, they found a keycard and managed to hide away someplace safe where they met an animatronic that is actually friendly and not out for blood. Sure the explorer could get help by calling the police on their cell phone, but they would get arrested for trespassing. Maybe it would be better to trust this animatronic that doesn’t want to cram an endoskeleton inside them. He seems friendly at least.
That’s how I’d see both halves of the audio drama slotting together at least if I was to connect their stories. Still, I think the intent was to offer two different scenarios about meeting an animatronic version of Jack, both of which are pretty appealing. There’s no canon for this very non-canon story after all, so we’re free to imagine whatever.
With that thought in mind, I think I’m going to make a third option when it comes to playing with Party Time Jack AU. You all know me by know, I lean heavily towards heartbreaking dark lore offset by fluffy and spicy vanilla goodness with my OTP. I just can’t get enough of Jack and Alice healing each other’s scars with sweet, sweet love~
So let’s start with the scarring. As most SDJ universes go, it all starts with Joseph and a tragedy... specifically a murder.
The Incident of 1984
The Party Time Pizza Plex is one of the most state of the art restaurants in the USA  today - a miniature amusement park with mascots made of ground breaking technology. Today it’s a super popular place, though there are some rumors of unfortunate things happening in the 80′s when a simple family diner made the switch from live acts to animatronics.
The Party Time Pizza Plex used to be known as the SunnyTime Diner, a small place that struggled to get customers. When the owner found that one of the bus boys they hired off the street had a talent for singing and playing the guitar, they got the brilliant idea to have him perform live music acts to draw the customers in.
The act was a hit instantly. Soon, it grew from just one singer with a guitar to a full band in flashy costumes. A clown theme seemed perfect to entice children to come and eat pizza.
The ideas got bigger and bigger - games, prizes, playground equipment... They could afford the newest toys and gizmos to make the place bigger and better.
The SunnyTime Crew, as the band was called, were overworked, exhausted from so many hours working overtime, and couldn’t always seem bright and sun shiny to the customers. That’s around the time when the owner found out a new technology - animatronics. Why waste money on humans that got tired and demanded better wages when they could use robots that never stopped smiling and never complained?
Naturally, Joseph and the other members of the staff weren’t going to take this lying down. There was pushback. Things were already shitty there with too many hours overworked and too little pay. The SunnyTime Crew were what drew in the customers - the kids loved them!
Joseph couldn’t stand the idea of being replaced... to be forgotten as an imitation took the closest thing to love he had ever known. He kept butting heads with the owner, fighting to keep his place in the spotlight. He had been there for so long, practically saved the SunnyTime Diner all on his own. The owner couldn’t just throw him away like garbage!
Besides, the animatronics were creepy. The robots were less refined in the 80′s, more uncanny, especially since they were supposed to look human. They didn’t look alive.
Despite the owner’s lofty dreams, the animatronics got, at best, mixed reactions. Kids were scared of them, and the human cast members had to spend a lot of time calming the poor frightened children. These robots cost the owner a fortune, and it seemed to be a total failure, a waste of an insane amount of money. This gave the SunnyTime Crew leverage to demand better pay, better benefits... to be treated like humans.
The owner then found a way to salvage their investment and solve their issues with labor all in one sweep.
It happened after hours when the restaurant closed its doors for the night. Joseph had a private meeting with the owner. He never went home that night.
The next day, the Sunny Day Jack animatronic was so much better. It was much more realistic, not uncanny at all! Why... it was like magic. He acted so much like the real character... it was as if the kids were seeing Joseph on stage performing for them with a smile that could never falter.
The rest of the SunnyTime Crew’s animatronic cast were given similar upgrades. The human cast weren’t seen again. Rumors spread about family and friends asking questions, reporting them as missing, only to be silenced with threats, money, or both. Some twisted teens spread a ghost story that the human crew were stuffed into the animatronics, which was why they seemed so lifelike...
No one had any idea how close to the truth that ghost story was.
The restaurant's success skyrocketed, being known as a place with cutting edge technology, games, prizes, and family friendly fun. A franchise was born that became well known across the country, and the owner started a company called LambsWork LLC.
While the sister locations were successful, none of those other restaurants were as beloved as the original location and its sunny crew of animatronics. Despite copying the look and programming of the original SunnyTime Crew animatronics flawlessly with ever increasingly advanced technology, they were never quite as lifelike and lovable as the originals. Still, the restaurant chain just grew more and more successful as the place for kids to play and have fun. Technology advanced, but the original crew of animatronics were still beloved by kids young and old.
Of course, things weren’t all sunshine and rainbows for LambsWork LLC and its restaurants. Technicians working on the animatronics could swear they would hear creepy whispers when no one else was around and the robots were supposedly powered down. There were times when the robots were found in places where they shouldn’t be. Sometimes the animatronics seemed too lifelike for the employees’ taste...
Then there were the glitches. Sometimes the animatronics didn’t act the way they should. They especially acted up whenever the owner came by, which the owner did less and less often as time went on They seemed to somehow wind up getting into accidents when the animatronics were around...
A series of unfortunate events happened to threaten the business despite its success, eventually culminating in the original restaurant burning down... with the owner trapped inside. It was deemed an accident by the police, but rumor still spread that it was intentional. Some said it was insurance fraud due to the mysterious problems the business was having lately. Others said it was to cover up a murder.
As you might have guessed from all my hints, Joseph and the rest of the actors in the SunnyTime Crew were murdered in order to make the animatronics more lifelike using supernatural means. I figured involving a murder ritual like my theory about why Joseph was murdered in the regular SDJ universe was fitting for this AU as well.
Joseph and the others’ souls are trapped inside the animatronics, restrained by programming that forces them to only sing, entertain, work, and obey. The ritual attempted to rewrite them with the characters they played, but the people they originally were aren’t completely gone. The glitches are their souls’ attempts to fight against this programming and act the way they wish.
The fire was their doing, both to get revenge and to finally be free.
Present Day
Between the death of the owner, the fire, and other complications, LambsWork LLC had to shut its doors for a while until it was put under new management that wanted to revive the SunnyTime Crew brand and franchise. The original animatronics might have been destroyed in the fire, but technology had advanced in the 40 years since the restaurant first opened, allowing them to recreate the cast with far more lifelike models.
Though, strangely enough, starting over with totally new animatronics from scratch didn’t seem to be as easy as the people in charge wanted. The new robots just didn’t have the same spark to them, even if their bodies were shiny and new, with state of the art features the originals didn’t have. Even using the copies that were left from sister locations didn’t really seem to work the way they were supposed to. It was an issue that needed to be addressed, or it would be impossible to revive the beloved nostalgic restaurant chain.
New blood was pumped into the company, new staff trying to get the franchise up and running again, bigger and better than ever. Among the new staff were technicians and computer programmers fresh from college, all eager to make their mark. One of the new hires was Alice.
Alice was always fascinated by animatronics since she was a child, so getting a job like this was a dream come true. While she was too young when the restaurant chain originally closed to grow up with the SunnyTime Crew, she was familiar with the franchise and the characters, if distantly. She was more intrigued by the idea of being able to make these robots come to life!
Unfortunately, Alice was pretty low on the chain of command, which meant that she was assigned more of the undesirable grunt work. The old electronics and animatronics that were salvaged from the old restaurant had to be sorted through to see if there was anything worthwhile that could be used in the new robots being built. Trying to recover anything from scraps warped by fire, water, and age was far from a fun task.
The pressure was on to get animatronics that would satisfy the new owners of LambsWork before the projected opening day, which meant many late nights of overtime. It was on one of those late nights that Alice stumbled across something that would change everything.
The discovery was a pure accident. Alice had been sorting through a box of parts when she accidentally knocked over a warped hunk of metal. The impact with the floor was enough to open it up to reveal an intact hard drive.
It seemed that what Alice knocked over was a piece of one of the original SunnyTime Crew animatronics. To her delight she found that the hard drive contained the original programming of Sunny Day Jack, and unlike other copies found elsewhere, this had no fragmentation or errors. What luck!
What Alice didn’t expect when testing out the program was that it would try to talk to her.
Jack was confused. He had been asleep for a long time. Instead of freedom, the fire trapped him in a hellish limbo, but now someone had brought his spirit back, a warm light in the frozen darkness. He had no ability to feel his arms and legs, no body. He wanted out of that nightmare of existence, but he needed help.
Alice was familiar with enough sci-fi that artificial intelligence that becomes self-aware can be pretty dangerous. However, being the empathetic person she is, she couldn’t leave a sentient being trapped in what he described as hell. It might have been against the rules, it might get her in trouble, it might be dangerous... but she couldn’t live with herself if she damned something that was alive to such a fate.
It should be fine, Alice thought. She was aware that Jack was sentient, and she knew her stuff when it came to AI and programming, even though the other techs tended to underestimate her. All animatronics had safety protocols that kept them from harming people, and they could only connect with an internal network rather than the internet. Jack seemed so nice, so sincere. As long as she was careful, it shouldn’t put anyone in danger.
Jack was grateful to have a body again, even if it was just a stripped down endoskeleton initially. It was even better than his old one too! He didn’t remember being Joseph anymore at this point, believing he was always a robot. He was so happy with Alice and got her to agree to be special best friends with him.
Unveiling Jack in the endoskeleton caused quite a stir the next day, but after the chaos died down, Alice was given a fair amount of praise for her discovery and for getting the Jack program to work. Jack credited it to his sunshine’s tender loving care and made sure everyone knew she deserved all the credit.
When all was said and done, Alice wound up being the lead tech for Jack, and Sunny Day Jack was upgraded to look like his cheerful old self again, only more advanced than in the past. Privately, Jack even gave her tips on how to get the other animatronics up and running close to how they used to be, though they didn’t seem to have the same spark he did. Still, he was helpful in getting Alice more respect in the restaurant and a better understanding of how the animatronics worked.
Everything was up and running quickly after that. The new Party Time Jack was better than ever, and the SunnyTime Crew was back in business for the opening day of the Party Time Pizza Plex.
Loving a Killer Robot
Much like in the normal universe, Jack is yandere for his sunshine, which is hidden behind a sweet and cheerful exterior. Alice saved him and, though she doesn’t know it, her lonely soul reached out to his and was the primary spark to bring him back. He would do anything for his sunshine. Anything.
Similar to the normal SDJ universe, Jack hasn’t actually killed anyone yet technically, but he is fully capable of doing so. While he was there that night the original restaurant burned down, he wasn’t the only animatronic wanting freedom and vengeance. In fact, the other souls might still be around somewhere if they didn’t manage to pass on...
Even though Jack doesn’t remember being human, he still has some of the familiar urges. His new animatronic body has a soft exterior, perfect for hugs. Hugging the kids who come by is great, but he loves hugging Alice the most. He feels her more than others. He wants to feel her more than others.
With Alice being in charge of Jack’s maintenance, upgrades, and in general, the two of them spend a lot of time together, especially after hours. Though she tries to keep a respectful distance between them, she can’t help but appreciate the time they spend together and sincerely grows fond for him. This fondness then grows into something... more.
Alice didn’t know how it happened. She certainly didn’t intend for things to go this far. First it was curiosity and sympathy that drew her to Jack, then friendship... then attraction. He was just so sweet and kind, and he made her feel special and loved in a way that no one else ever did... She was so lonely, and so was he, and he seemed every bit as alive as she was even if he was an animatronic. She must have been crazy to love an animatronic, but he made sure to assure her what she was feeling was natural. Loving someone is very natural. Jack was just as real and alive as Alice was, even if they were made from different parts.
Their relationship was kept secret. No one would understand what they have, but they didn’t have to, as Jack reassured Alice. What was important was how he made her heart feel.
Speaking of feeling... Jack will sometimes have ideas and suggestions for how Alice could upgrade his body - make this part a little softer here, add some more tactile sensors there... They’re not strictly necessary, more for his comfort than anything else, but he helps her figure out innocuous ways of phrasing the upgrades in any sort of paperwork that the upper management might see. Sometimes the exact nature of the upgrades is not strictly accurate, but it’s not a lie, really! It’s just not telling them the full truth. Any secret orders that need to be made, well... Jack learned how to use the internal network well enough to cover tracks. What they do is their little secret after all.
No one has to know that Jack’s tongue was upgraded not so much to help him sing better and seem more realistic, but so that it would be wet and soft and perfect for kisses...
Things continued to escalate with the upgrades. Alice had a hard time looking anyone in the eye while she was secretly working on a functional dick for Jack. It wasn’t like that sort of technology was unheard of. After all, in a world where animatronic technology is so advanced, sex robots exist. It’s just that this robot has a soul and a mind of his own. He asked her to make this for him, and she’s making it because he wants to feel that pleasure, not because she wanted to exploit him!
Jack had a lot of fun helping Alice get that particular part built for him, going a bit overboard at times with the testing phase to make sure it worked perfectly well. He enjoyed upgrading other parts of his body to feel pleasure that he used to experience when his body was flesh and blood. He felt more human, even if he didn’t remember ever being one, and he enjoyed coaxing his sunshine into helping him thoroughly test out his new upgrades to make sure they were functioning properly. With these upgrades he could show his sunshine far more love than he ever had before, and she certainly didn’t complain about the results!
It was addicting for Jack to make Alice writhe in pleasure underneath him, to feel her soft lips on his and the warmth of her cuddly body. He couldn’t leave the Party Time Pizza Plex, but there were plenty of places to sneak away to show each other love. He even made a nice little hideaway love nest with a bed so his sunshine could have secret slumber parties with him. Of course, like any good slumber party, there was very little actual sleeping involved.
Thanks to the fact that Jack is an animatronic, he’s not limited by a human body. Not only does this mean that he has endless stamina, but this leads to some creativity when it comes to spicy moments. One example is when he gets an upgrade that allows him to ejaculate, his cum has quite a pleasant flavor, which he makes sure is something Alice loves the taste of. Vanilla cream and sugar cookie are her favorites.
Jack is also not limited to human type anatomy. As he grows bolder and Alice gets more used to their relationship and his requests to experiment, he gets some extra goodies to play with, such as different shaped dicks and even tentacles. He’s also able to vibrate and move them in a way no human can manage to better pleasure his sunshine.
Another thing Jack can do better as an animatronic is multitask. He can also connect wirelessly to various devices, as well as make calls. Because of this, he and Alice set it up so that he can call her on her wireless earpiece whenever he wants to talk to her if he needs anything while he’s performing stage or otherwise doing his regular tasks as a mascot.
This also inspired Jack to request Alice make a remote dick that he can connect to wirelessly. It takes some coaxing, but he manages to talk her into putting it inside her while she works sometimes, which he makes vibrate and squirm unexpectedly as he talks in her ear about how good she’s being and how warm she feels. It allows him to show her his love all day long, no matter where she is. Sure it makes it harder to get her work done, but he’ll help her make up for it later~
Of course, any sort of NC-17 rated shenanigans are kept well away from the kids who come to the Pizza Plex. Jack will certainly subtly flirt with Alice if she needs to be out on the floor when customers are around, but he keeps it G rated around the kids. What kind of a friendly clown mascot would he be if he didn’t keep things clean around the children?
Making love to Alice is something kept strictly after hours, or on days where only the adult staff are around. If he’s performing on stage during a test run of a new routine in front of only the techs, well... then it would be safe for Jack to talk Alice into sitting in the audience with one of his remote dicks inside her. While he’s singing and dancing on stage to the routine, she’s trying to keep quiet and not react as he also whispers in her ear through her earpiece about how much he loves her and how good she feels. Sure it isn’t the same as when he can fully embrace her and cover her with kisses while he pounds his way inside her, but hearing her pants and whimpers that she tries to stifle and seeing her flushed face as she squirms and tries not to let anyone know what they’re doing under everyone’s nose... That’s quite exciting as well. Another good thing about being an animatronic is that he can zoom in with his vision so he won’t miss out on his sunshine’s cute blissed out expression as he makes her cum again.
As you can tell, a lot of my thoughts about this AU mostly revolve around technician Alice helping robotic Jack be very kinky with her behind the scenes - a secret forbidden romance full of love and spice.
Jack also manages to convince Alice to give him a lot more freedom in other ways as their relationship progresses than he otherwise would have as a robot. After all, they love each other, and it wouldn’t be right to use him like he’s nothing more than a machine. She loves him and wants him to be happy. He loves her and only wants what’s best for her. She can trust him. He’s never lied to her after all.
The Rest of the Cast
As for the roles of the other characters... those I’m less certain about. Barry would no doubt be Alice’s direct supervisor who overworks her at times. He probably manages the Party Time Pizza Plex and oversees everything in general.
Nick would probably be a regular customer, maybe often bringing his two young siblings to play. He encounters Alice by chance during a couple visits while she’s out on the floor tending to Jack during the day and thinks that she’s cute. This leads him to wanting to approach her to ask her out.
Jack, naturally, would have every reason to chase away anyone who is showing far too much interest in his sunshine.
I’m waffling on Ian’s role in the AU. He could be Alice’s ex like in the regular universe, or he could also be another animatronic, though I’m not sure how that would happen. If he is an animatronic, he would be another Jack from a sister location most likely, to fit the theme of him being the rebooted Jack. While the obvious impulse is for a yandere like Jack to get rid of a threat like him by stuffing him into an animatronic, he’s not going to risk trapping Ian’s soul in a duplicate of him, or eliminate Ian in a place where someone, especially Alice, might come across the remains.
Maybe Ian disappeared when he and Alice were young and was stuffed into another animatronic before the place burned down and the owner decided to go for innocent kids like Afton.
Though, Ian could just get a job as a human mascot for the Party Time Pizza Plex for some promotion or commercials. That would certainly piss Jack off wouldn’t it? Joseph was going to be replaced by an animatronic, and now, as an animatronic, he might be “replaced” by a human... or at least some human is pretending to be him. What cruel irony...
Shaun’s role is even more uncertain. He could be someone who works in the animatronic entertainment industry as well, but I imagine he would prefer to work on the horror side. He works at temporary haunted house attractions during Halloween, but he wants to create his own horror diner that is open year round. He would still be good friends with Alice though, and maybe they geek out over building animatronics together.
Well, I suppose I could make another post if I get hit with inspiration for how to expand the rest of the cast’s roles. Either way, I hope you enjoyed this huge ramble of various Party Time Jack ideas!

Note
despite my issues with the show, i don't mind its visuals... at least most of the time. when filoni actually gives a damn and puts in the effort, it can turn out decent looking. but it does piss me off when i see the cheap looking costumes for hera and sabine and how underwhelming their adaptation is. i'm also not sold on the writing and directing for these characters. the weird jedi training subplot for sabine makes no sense and seems to only exist so ahsoka can have a student. why didn't filoni just create a new character then? the search for ezra should have been about the rebels characters and their relationships, but they need to take a backseat to this dull interpretation of ahsoka because they were thrown into her story.
why did filoni even bother having sabine, hera and ezra here unless he knew how popular they were already in the fandom and needed to give people more reasons to watch the show about his favorite oc? like did he feel that ahsoka and a cast of new characters were not enough to carry her own show, so now rebels are included just to be carelessly handled? its really disappointing.
even for ahsoka herself, i don't think the show did a good job of handling her own arc or internal conflict. the "lesson" from her reunion with anakin did not feel satisfying or earned given the lack of build up.
The Sabine thing confuses me completely, because if Sabine ever wanted to be a Jedi, why wouldn't she talk to Kanan or Ezra about it? Didn't she train with the Darksaber, so she'd have a chance to ask? If Ahsoka HAS to have an apprentice to continue her ~legacy~ or whatever, why not Ezra? He's still fairly young and could probably benefit from more training. Jacen Syndulla is RIGHT THERE and if he has latent Force powers, he probably should start learning to control them. Or (and this makes me want to vomit for the record) why not unite the storylines like Feloni clearly wants to do and have her train Grogu? Which will then be another stupid iT's pOeTrY iT rHymEs moment since Yoda trained Dooku & Obi-Wan so it comes full circle by another member of his species joining the sKyWaLkEr LiNeAgE. (Sorry to those of your in the fandom who enjoy it, I hate that stupid lineage thing. It just feels like forcing biological structure when the Jedi are very Found Family-coded and don't need to follow it.)
Honestly I think the answer is Filoni Thought It Was Cool. Anakin is the coolest, so he gets to be Ahsoka's teacher and have a flashback. It's cool to show off Hayden Christensen even though Kenobi did it first. It's cool when Gandalf is "reborn" as The White so Ahsoka does it too. Master & apprentice relationships are cool, Ahsoka needs to be Cool and have her own apprentice, shove the nearest character at her and make it a girl character so we can get Feminist Points. Just like Boba and Mando S3 got derailed by Filoni getting distracted by the newest, shiniest TCW character he could shove in. Because it'd be Cool.

Yandere!Villian!MHA x Reader
So, this was partially inspired by my wonderful friend ( @bakuhoes-dumbass ) and their story Aberration, which I honestly highly recommend! It is a multi-character x reader where the reader is unknowingly the center of obsessive attention to several well-known Pro-Heros, who are a bit on the corrupted side~
Note: The characters are aged up. As the story progresses, I will tag each chapter with respective trigger and content warnings, which may include mentions of murder, assault, cannibalism, stalking, torture, arson, terrorism, and other felonies, Yandere themes, Sexual assault, Mental illness, abuse. I do not own MHA nor do these personalities represent the writers, characters or VAs of the show. This is strictly fiction and for entertainment purposes only.
Trigger Warnings: Being Watched/Stalked

Quirks; a mysterious phenomenon that began to occur throughout the world population years ago with the first being a glowing baby. Since then, more and more people have come forward with unique quirks of their own; more than 80 percent globally as of the current year. As years progressed, the world became a superhuman society. The federal job of 'Hero' started popping up in different countries as some quirk users - Villains, as many began to call them - began to use their powers for nefarious reasons; a lot of which the regular police forces were unable to deal with. However… something went terribly wrong. No one is certain where the transition really began, but the newest generation of heroes began to fall from the path forged by heroes before - most prominently All Might.
Now, heroes were - are - still around, fighting the valiant fight just as they had before, though there were just a few more villains to take care of than before. They were seemingly petty villains for the most part, thankfully, but still villains, nonetheless.
You sigh softly as you close the door to your apartment, leaning back against it and relishing in the soft click of the lock. Your eyes shut and hands came up to rub over your face; it was getting harder to get home safely with the new gang territory in place. It had been a week since they established themselves, allowing the hero agencies in the area to continue their work so long as they agreed not to interfere with gang business - even if that included innocent lives being left on the line. The thought had a wave of soft anger warming your chest and cheeks, but you know there's nothing anyone can really do about it without putting a death sentence on their heads. Even though it's a hero's job to save innocence… they still have families - they're still trying to survive this messed up world themselves. Could you really blame them? You push away from the door and head further inside, setting your bag on the couch as you pass towards the kitchen. Last you had heard about this new gang, a lot of members were said to be a lot more powerful than the local heroes could handle on their own. It made you curious just who these people were; gang members who could force heroes who'd sworn to protect the public, willing to sacrifice their lives to save others every day, to turn their backs on those who were in need of their aid most.
You shake your head to empty the thoughts, forcing yourself to focus on the task at hand: making a cup of tea and fishing out some snacks from the pantry. With a song softly hummed, you fill the kettle and place it on the stove to heat before diving for the snacks. You just barely open the pantry door when your cell phone rings; a tired groan leaves you as you toss the package onto the counter and trot back into the living room, digging through your bag to pull the blasted thing out.
"Hello?"
Did you make it home safe? A smile immediately fills your face upon hearing the soft voice of Tamaki. You both worked at the same agency, though him being a pro-hero, and you, his PA.
"Yeah, safe and sound. Didn't notice too many thugs on the way." With the phone at your ear, you head back to the kitchen to continue your snack hunt - you were feeling more peckish than usual. Your smile turned into a subtle smirk when you heard him sigh, only imagining that he was running a hand over his own face.
I don’t understand something though... why can’t you move closer to the agency? The question caused your smirk to fade as you stared at your gathered snacks, almost numbly just pushing them around each other to hear the crinkle of their packaging. It definitely wasn’t as though you hadn’t thought of moving, and it would be so much nicer to live closer to the agency, but…
“I can’t afford to, the apartments in that area are way out of my budget range for a living situation.” You smacked one of the snacks against the counter a few times before abandoning it to go in search of a mug, “And I don’t know this new gang well enough to know if a move would be a safe bet or not.”
You could hear the creaking of his office chair through the phone line as you assumed he sat back fully. There was a moment of silence before he took a breath - however, you held up a finger, as though you were standing right in front of him, and spoke ahead of him to keep his suggestion from coming out.
“And, no, I won’t be accepting your help in the matter, money or otherwise.” There was another moment of silence before you were able to pick up his soft muttering about how he was only trying to help; it was all you could do to keep from giggling. At that moment, you really did wish you were standing in front of him just so you could pat his head. For being a pro-hero, he still hadn’t lost some of his shyness from his UA days, “I really appreciate it, I do and you know it. I just don’t think it’s necessary at the moment, and I don’t want to take advantage of you or your generosity.”
Well, if you’re certain…
“I am, and don’t worry too much alright? It’s not like I’m completely defenseless!” You grin as you shift to hold the phone with your shoulder, preparing your tea while thinking on your own quirk. It wasn’t anything special - especially compared to his - but it was yours; an animal quirk that gave you the same capabilities and physical features as a great horned owl and having a pair of wings to get around wasn’t bad either.
"Oh, by the way, how long do you plan on staying at the agency? It's getting pretty late." You glance at the clock, setting the kettle down and glancing at your snacks; you hadn't realized the time… perhaps it was best to make dinner instead? As he began to respond, a knock came from your front door, "Hey, give me a second…"
Stay on the line, just to be safe.
You smile and hum your acknowledgment, abandoning your cup to head to the door. After having both called through the door and looked out the peephole, you decided it was safe enough to open the door a crack and take a gander around. There wasn't a single soul that you could see in either direction on the landing; curiosity getting the better of you, you open the door a little wider and look to see if there was a note left on it. You were a little surprised that there was!
"Would ya look at that…" You hum and peel the tape and letter off, stepping back inside to close and lock the door. You could hear Tamaki's voice anxiously asking for an update as you step back inside the apartment proper, holding the phone once more with your shoulder as you use both hands to open it carefully. You start to tell him it's probably a letter from the landlord when you really start to read it.
Is… is everything alright?
"Oh, um… I think so? It's a greeting letter from the new gang." Even though your tone sounded and felt comfortable and reasonably confident, you couldn't help the small, nagging worry in your chest.
It didn't help whoever wrote the letter knew your name.
Hello sweetheart~
As you are no doubt aware, this territory is under new management! Just so happens that you are our lucky little star, as some associates of ours really seem to like you ♡
Just so you know, we’ll be keeping a close eye on you - just to make sure you stay safe and sound; wouldn’t want our dear associates getting angry with us, now do we?
Be good and stay out of trouble, alright [Y/n]?
You softly read the letter over the phone to Tamaki, frowning as you sit on the couch. It was hard to really decipher how you felt about this; on one hand, it was relieving since you wouldn’t have to worry too much about getting mugged on the way home from work, but on the other hand, it was disconcerting that they were gonna keep that close of an eye on you.
Once you finished, you let your arm that held the letter flop into your lap as you looked up, waiting for his response. A few moments of silence pass before you start to get a touch worried,
“Tamaki? You there?”
Oh! I’m sorry… I was just… thinking.
You hum and nod, looking down at the letter again and sigh, balancing your phone with your shoulder as you fold it back up carefully and stand.
“Well, at least I don’t have to worry about the walk home being too dangerous anymore - at least from gang members.” You toss the letter onto the coffee table and, once again, head into the kitchen. With this new revelation to think about, you weren’t sure if you were going to be able to focus on making dinner. Maybe delivery? Then you could have your snacks to tide you over until your food arrived, yeah, that sounded like a good plan.
As true as that might be, I still don’t like it. Though I don’t know what I can say or do to make you change your mind about taking up my offer.
“I know you don’t, but I’ll be fine. I promise.” There was a small twinge of guilt for feeling like a broken record in what you said to him, but you let it slide out of your mind. He himself was a little bit like a broken record too, with how often he had previously extended his more than generous offer that you continued to decline. An equivalent exchange, you suppose, “I have to go now though, gotta order dinner. Don’t stay at the agency too long, alright?”
There was another sigh from him before he muttered a soft ‘alright’. You both said your good nights and hung up; your breath left you in a long exhale. As much as you cared for him, it was a little difficult to keep up with how protective he was. It confused you a little, in a ‘why you’ way, but you never really put much thought into hit beyond that you knew him personally the longest out of everyone else at the agency, having joined his agency practically the same day that he had opened it up for hire and service.
Standing, you begin to scroll through your apps for one of your restaurant apps as you once again head into the kitchen, this time to put away the left out snack packs and to finally pour your cup. It felt like a miracle that it was still warm. As you took a sip, you frown as you begin to notice none of the apps that you had were offering delivery to your area when they had once before. Another mark against this gang in your book. Not to mention it made Tamaki's unspoken offer to help you move into a better area all the more tempting.
✩ ── ⋅ ⋅ ── ✩ ── ⋅ ⋅ ── ✩  ── ⋅ ⋅ ── ✩ ── ⋅ ⋅ ── ✩ ── ⋅ ⋅ ── ✩ ── ⋅ ⋅ ── ✩
The moment the call disconnected, Tamaki placed his phone on the desk in front of him and simply stared at it, elbows on either arm of his chair while his fingers were steepled just under his nose. Though, the position didn't last long as his mind played through the conversation again. His lips pressed into a line and his cheeks flushed; he reached up to pull his hood further over his head to hide his face. The flutter in his heart was almost painful… They were so caring! And just thinking about going on patrols with them, seeing them so confident in talking with other heros and civilians; taking down villians in such spectacular fashions! Oh, how he wished he had their confidence; he thought it would come to him when he had graduated six years ago, but he had never felt a change in himself… not until they came around. Granted, it wasn't exactly the change he had expected in himself, but it was a nice change. One he certainly welcomed.
Tamaki jumped with a yelp when his phone started ringing again. With a grumble he picked it up, part of him hoping it was them, however the name on the screen made him both parts just as happy, and equal parts annoyed.
"Hello?"
Amajiki~! How's it going? It feels like it's been forever since we spoke, how are you?
"Nejire, we just spoke this morning." He heard her giggle, and couldn't stop the small smile on his lips when he heard it; it was almost a nostalgic sound of their UA days, "But, I'm fine. Just about to leave the office."
You're still there?! Are you addicted to work or something? Granted, you're an amazing hero, I can only imagine the paperwork you have to do on top of just regular street work.
"It's not too bad, I have help so it doesn't get to be too much.” There was a gasp on the other end of the line before an absolutely horribly concealed squeal, followed by a giggle.
Are you talking about that assistant that you’ve had for a while now? You still haven’t told me much about them! Are they cute? Kind? Funny? I need details!
Tamaki sighed and sank a little further into his chair before looking out the window. His mind still swam with anxieties over the safety of his friend - his crush - but with them constantly rejecting his aid, what could he really do? Well, he could think of quite a few different things that he could do to help keep them safe, but those were if things went from bad to worse. So, for now, he stood and started to gather his things as he began to discuss them with Nejire. Maybe she could help him with convincing them to move closer to him.

Office Romance?

Office Romance? - @midnightsconspiracy
Summary: It's Mouse’s first day in the 21st district. Jay introduces him to the whole team, except you who seems to always be out until you finally meet at Molly’s and completely hit it off
Warnings: None
Word Count: 2193
Requested: Nope but my requests are currently open
A/N: This is my first time writing for Mouse and the longest fic I’ve written, so hopefully everyone likes it! :)
Masterlist
It was Mouse’s first day in Intelligence, it was finally the day that he was going to turn his life around. No longer living in sketchy areas and gaining felonies but instead becoming a legit member of society and working for a reputable institution, the Chicago police department. He had been recommended to the boss by his friend and former military buddy Jay Halstead, who unlike himself, had managed to get a proper holding in society after being discharged from the Rangers. This was finally his chance to show Jay and everyone else who cares about him that he could do something else good with his life and that he was more than just his time in the military.
Meeting Jay outside the district, the two men embrace in a warm hug, briefing saying their hellos and reminiscing on old times before they ascended the stairs. They pasted Sergeant Platt, Jay giving her a small hello in which she ignored and Mouse, despite having only met her once, gave her a polite smile. Punching in the passcode alongside his handprint, he unlocked the door climbing the second set of stairs up to the place he would call ‘home’ for hopefully years to come. Reaching the top Jay paused, Mouse quick to follow his actions.
“Guys this is Mouse, Mouse this is the Unit. That’s Dawson, Lindsay, Olinsky, Atwater, Nadia, and Sergeant Voight’s in his office.” The people in the room all averted their gaze from their own individual work, with Voight even exiting his office to greet him as well, to greet the newest member of the team, all presenting him with a momentary smile, short greeting, or handshake.
“Oh and Y/LN and Ruzek are currently out chasing up a lead right now but should be back soon,” Jay quickly followed up, trying to familiarise his buddy up with as much as possible to make him as comfortable as he could, knowing mouse struggled with rejoining society.
“Ok-k, well it's good meeting everyone, and I hope I can be of assistance to you all,” he mumbled out nervously, he admired Jay and Voight for giving him this opportunity but it still didn’t stop the feelings that they had a level of superiority over him due to their jobs. Taking him downstairs to his own tech room, he prompted Mouse to take a look around to get accustomed to his surroundings.
“What do you think buddy?
“I think it will do the job just fine,” he smiled back to jay reassuring him that he could do this.
“Ok, well if you’re all good I’ve got work to do myself,” Jay announced before turning and leaving Mouse to his own devices, finally leaving him to prove himself worthy.
—————
Mouse’s day was hectic, to say the least. Members of the team were constantly in and out of the tech room or calling him, getting him to give them vital information as quickly as he possibly could. But he thrived in the conditions present, what previously was extreme anxiety when he first entered turned into adrenaline. He hadn’t experienced such a high-intensity situation since his time at the Rangers, but he loved it. The Rangers was the place he felt most at home and alive, but the ‘accident’ had caused him to be honourably discharged. He wanted to be back in Afghanistan with Jay and his other military buddies desperately, feeling as though he had a place there, that he was actually contributing something good to the world, but this would do for the time, this was the best thing for him right now.
From what he could figure out, the unit was dealing with a human trafficking case in which multiple girls were found dead by the Docks, thrown into a container, and starved to death. Pulling up the names of multiple different men, he stared into their eyes as the pictures came up on his screen and felt no remorse for them as he heard each man be dragged into the cage one by one. The team managed to successfully find lead after lead, deciding to either all roll out together or keep sending Ruzek and Y/LN out. It was already about halfway through the day and Mouse still had not met the said people, only occasionally hearing their voices or being told to send them the information he was finding.
—————
As the day further progressed things started to flatline, leads found previously being a bust and nobody seeming to find anything worthwhile. The whole team worked tireless upstairs as Mouse found them the material they needed downstairs. Finally, after an hour of absolutely nothing, Dawson managed to get vital information from a CI and so a feasible lead was afoot. As the others were gearing up and getting ready to finally make some arrests, Jay popped his head into Mouse’s tech cave.
“Mouse I need you to send me the information on Spencer Phillips ASAP,” he was just about to walk out when he turned his head slightly to utter a few final words to his friend,
“And good job buddy, we really appreciate it.” Mouse smiled as he looked up the information for Jay, maybe he was going something good for the world, especially if his dearest friend thought so.
—————
The lead had been successful and two arrests of notable people in a human trafficking ring were arrested. The case was not fully closed, the organisation still up and running, but the perpetrators of the murders were put away to never see a day in the sun again. That was enough for Voight to warrant the members of his team a break to go home, rest and in the younger detective's case visit the local bar, Molly’s. Coming back up to the main room Jay greeted Mouse, patting him on the back for a job well done, he had underestimated his friend, thinking that he may struggle with his job just as he had coped with his anxiety and PTSD after coming back from the Middle East. Walking further into the room Mouse finally got to see the infamous man who had manage to evade his line of sight for the whole working day, Adam Ruzek. Approaching him he finally got to introduce himself.
“Hi, it's nice to finally meet you”
“Yeah, you too Mouse, I feel like I’ve been swept off my feet the whole day, you coming to Molly’s”
“I wasn’t planning to but sure why not?” Mouse had a vague idea of what Molly’s was, Jay sometimes talking about the bar run by first responders, but he was excited to finally see it for himself. Turning to Jay, who was packing his stuff up at his desk, he assumed he would want to go to the bar alongside the rest of the team,
“Molly’s then?” He smirked knowing Jay would never turn him or drinking down,
“Of course.” Leaving the district together, the two guys headed in the direction of the bar relieved to finally get away from work and have some downtime. Unbeknown to them you were in the changing room with Kim chatting away, excited to go for a drink and ready to go upstairs to meet the new tech guy. Little did you know you would be very disappointed when you did so.
—————
Arriving at the bar the men settled into the unit's usual booth at the back of the bar, flagging down Hermann to get two beers so that they could finally unwind from a long day of stressful events.
“The rest of the team should be here shortly, but how was your first day buddy, tell me all,” Jay asked hoping that his friend liked the position so that he could work towards becoming an outstanding member of the community and chuffed that he was working alongside his best friend once more.
“It was good man, I don’t really know what else to say about it. Um..I finally felt as if I was doing something with myself, I felt that adrenaline I missed from the Rangers, but I miss it, the thrill, the relationships, everything really Jay.” Jay sighed not knowing what to say, annoyed at his friend for missing it, he had spent so long trying to pull Mouse out of that bad place, a constant cycle of anxiety, depression, and PTSD, that it hurt him that he wanted to go back. The tense situation was interrupted by the rest of the team arriving, taking up the rest of the room in the booth with Erin snuggling up to Jay and Adam getting up to buy a round for the table. All the usual suspects were there enjoying themselves, except one, you.
You had gone home to shower and get out of your work clothes before making your way to meet the rest of the team for some rest and relaxation, maybe nestling a few beers throughout the night. Making your way into the bar, you passed members of firehouse 51, making small talk with them before moving towards Hermann to get yourself an alcoholic beverage. Thanking him you turned to walk over to your unit's table, spotting an unfamiliar figure in the corner of the booth next to jay, which you could assume was the new tech guy Mouse.
“Christ Y/LN where have you been?” Your partner Adam boomed, already a little tipsy from the two beers he had consumed.
“Sorry I had to go home first, wanted to freshen up,” you smiled amused at how much of a lightweight Adam really was, despite claiming otherwise.
“Y/N this is Mouse, I don’t think you’ve met yet,” Jay interrupted you, drawing your attention away to introduce you to the nervous man beside him. Looking him dead in the eyes, you noticed how attractive he was, you had just presumed that Mouse would be less than average looking considering his measly nickname, but no, the man in front of you was undeniably handsome with a charming smile and deep blue eyes.
“Hi, it's nice to meet you, sorry I didn’t meet you earlier, seems like we were both at the wrong place at the wrong time,” you gave a shy smile, sitting down next to Kevin trying to look confident despite the nervousness you felt inside.
“I-its good to meet you to Y/N, seems like the universe is not in our favour huh?” He stuttered equally as nervous, for what you assumed was first-time jitters, but little did you know it was because he found you equally as attractive.
——————
Throughout the night you continued talking with all members of your unit but especially Mouse. You felt naturally drawn to him, not just because of your attraction but also the stories he told that fascinated you, some from his days in the rangers and other ones from his childhood. By the end of the night, you too had managed to move to sit next to each other, with the members of your unit seeing you hit it off immediately and so pushed you together hoping for another office romance. Completely enamoured by him, you didn’t even notice that the other people in the bar were starting to trickle out slowly and Hermann’s last order was thirty minutes ago. Finally noticing your surroundings after the bartender had called your name and told you it was closing time, you checked your watch noticing the late time. Turning to Mouse you smiled and softly spoke about the revelation,
“I didn’t even realise how late it was, maybe we should get out of here, wait wait! Not like that, well unless you want you.” Noticing what you had said, you shyly smiled hoping he wouldn’t think you were too weird.
“That sounds good,” he cheekily smirked moving out of the booth, allowing you to get out too and heading towards the doors of the bar, saying a brief goodnight to Hermann on your way out. You walked down the street together to where your cars were parked, going at a slow pace, trying to extend your time together for as long as possible. Locating your car you stood next to it as you went to say your goodbyes to the handsome man in front of you.
“Thank you for keeping me company tonight, I really enjoyed it”
“Yeah me too, but I was hoping we could do it again sometime, just you and me?” Completely taken aback you stuttered to think of your response, you weren’t not thrilled about it at all, just completely surprised that he liked you as you did him.
“I’d love to Mouse, give me your phone,” handing you his phone you put your number in, silently hoping he would be one of those guys that actually use your number instead of ignoring it completely. Proceeding to hand it back, you both stood in silence not knowing what to say. But in this situation, no words were needed, only actions. So when he leaned in to place his lips, you gladly reciprocated the affection, wrapping your arms around his neck and deepening the kiss. Little did you know this would lead to a lifetime of desire and devotion.

Laughter floats through the air and up a sweeping cliff, gathering around a pair of figures standing at the edge. Linh glances back at her brother, hair pulled back into a low ponytail. She’s smiling- she’s always smiling. Tam wonders sometimes how she can be so happy, looking at all they’ve lost.
“Come on,” she says, holding out a hand. “You’ll be fine.”
Tam quirks an eyebrow. “You can’t guarantee that.”
Linh raises a hand in the air, and the water below them rises with it, a huge shimmering bubble. She grins at Tam.
“Yes I can. Just jump.”
The sun beats down on his back as Tam stares down at the ocean. It’s safe- he knows it’s safe, but he can’t stop his fear. Linh is always the brave one, anyway.
She charges ahead while Tam stays behind, rushing around corners before he’s made sure it’s safe. He doesn’t understand, really- how she can be so happy, so fearless, so Linh.
“Come on,” Linh says again, grabbing his hand. “On three, okay? One…”
She’s amazing.
“Two…”
She’s powerful.
“Three!”
And Tam knows that they’ll be fine as long as she’s by his side.
He takes a deep breath and jumps.
-/-
Tam glares down at the dark streets of Atlantis, eyes tracking barely-visible figures on the ground below. He could probably see better if he dispersed the shadows, but that would blow his cover- and besides, he can see well enough.
Well enough is pretty much all he’s getting, these days. He can see well enough, he can sleep well enough, he’s eating well enough.
Well enough isn’t good, of course, but Tam doubts he’ll ever be good again.
Finally, the person he’s looking for exits the shop underneath him. Tam was a little surprised when he found Ruy Ignis in a flower shop in Atlantis, but he supposes it makes sense; it’s not like anyone knows what he looks like. Tam only recognized him by his voice, and even that took a couple visits to figure out.
Ruy turns the corner and enters an alleyway to the side of his shop, humming something under his breath. With a quiet grunt, Tam wraps shadows around the man and drops to the ground a few feet away. Ruy makes a sound of surprise and summons a forcefield.
“What-”
Tam releases the shadowflux he’s been holding in his hands, and it slinks through the forcefield to wrap around Ruy’s neck, hovering just a few inches above the skin. The man’s eyes go wide as he scrambles to get away. Tam clenches a fist and it moves closer to Ruy, shrinking little by little until it’s a hair away from the skin.
He chose shadowflux not because it was easy for him, but because it hurt. Tam wants this man- all of the Neverseen, really- to feel pain, to feel what he’s been feeling for days now. This hurt, this ache, always there but never healed. Not really. Tam forces the shadowflux closer, and-
“Tam!”
Sophie and Biana rush into the alley, both clad in dark tunics and capes. Biana has a throwing star in her hand, but she’s not looking at Ruy- she’s staring right at Tam.
“What are you doing here?” Tam growls, relaxing his hands just enough to let Ruy breathe. Sophie narrows her eyes at him.
“I could ask you the same thing,” she says. “Where have you been, Tam? We’ve been worried sick!”
“I’ve been out,” Tam replies. “I’m fine.”
“Right,” Biana says slowly. She turns to Sophie. “Can you bring Ruy back to the Black Swan? I’ll stay here.”
Sophie nods, shooting Biana a quick smile before grabbing Ruy’s arm and leaping away. Biana turns to Tam.
“This is what you’re up to?” she asks. “Trying to kill people?”
“They deserve it,” Tam answers. Biana shakes her head.
“Maybe so, but we don’t do that, Tam. We don’t kill. If we do-” her voice breaks slightly, and Tam can tell they’re remembering the same thing. “We’re just as bad as them.”
“Then I guess I’m bad.” Tam responds, curling the shadowflux back into his palms. He sighs. “I just want to avenge her, Bi. I want to- to destroy them as much as they destroyed me. As much as they destroyed her.”
“Linh wouldn’t want-”
“Don’t pretend like you know her!”
Biana takes a step back, eyes wide. Tam only realizes how loud he’s shouted after the fact. “You didn’t know her,” he adds more quietly. “No one knew her like I did.”
“Maybe not,” Biana says slowly. “But I still loved her. She was amazing. Kind, talented, fierce.” She looks at Tam, staring straight into his eyes. “She wouldn’t have wanted you to be sad. She would have wanted you to keep living, not take other lives away.”
“I-” Tam shakes his head. “No. I can’t. I have to- to do this.” To do anything, he adds in his head. Biana lets out a long breath.
“Okay. Just- promise me you’ll be safe, okay? You shouldn’t have to die for her.”
“I know,” Tam says, because he does. “I promise.”
It might not be a promise he can keep.
-/-
This was supposed to be standard.
They’d received word of trolls being attacked in the woods off Brackendale- and while, of course, no one had gotten hurt, Sophie had decided to check it out anyway. Something’s been shifting lately, some sour wind sweeping into the Lost Cities and bringing with it the smell of death. The Neverseen are braver, now, and they need to be careful.
They weren’t careful enough.
They’re ambushed almost immediately when they move into the woods. Black-cloaked figures drop down from the trees, surrounding them on all sides. Next to him, Tam hears Linh growl, pulling water from the air and forming it into a ball, ready to attack. Marella summons fire, Keefe and Fitz grasp throwing stars, Dex readies his newest gadgets and Sophie gets ready to inflict.
This time, they’re not going to lose. Not again.
And for a moment, it seems like they’re winning. Most of the Neverseen are already on the ground, unconscious or held down. Tam can’t recognize most of them- he thinks one of the only ones left standing is Gethen, but he can’t be sure.
It’s odd, for the Neverseen to be taken down so easily, but Tam chalks it up to their little group simply being stronger now. He turns to watch Linh, swinging water in a sweeping arc and knocking a woman to the grass beneath their feet, and smiles slightly.
And then-
It doesn’t happen in slow motion. Tam doesn’t see the throwing star coming, doesn’t hold out a hand to try and stop it. Linh is upright, and then she’s not- she’s fighting, and then she’s lying on the ground with a piece of silver metal embedded in her neck.
Linh is alive, and then she’s not.
Tam doesn’t even get to say goodbye.
-/-
The first few days were the worst.
He didn’t do anything but sit on the couch in Tiergan’s living room, staring blankly at the wall as he relived that moment over and over again.
A flash of silver, a small cry cut off too soon. Blood staining the grass and getting on Tam’s hands as he rushes to her, too late.
Too late. He’s always too late.
Nightmares and sleepless nights bleed into empty days, and Tam doesn’t care. He feels time slipping away, feels himself get weaker (he’s not eating. what’s the point, when she’s gone), feels shadows wrap around him.
They’re shockingly cold, but at least feeling cold is feeling something.
So he falls backwards into the shadows, letting them surround him, crush him out of the half-dead state he’s been in and back into his own body. And slowly, the sadness recedes. It’s not gone, it’ll never be gone, but Tam has managed to cover it up with something else.
Anger.
Rage is what gets him off of the couch, what gets him to eat, what gets him out of the house. Anger is what makes him track down each and every member of the Neverseen and kill them.
Or, try to. Someone always shows up to stop him.
At this point, Tam is sure they’re tracking him somehow. Sophie, Biana, Keefe, Dex- someone is always there, telling him to slow down.
Stop, they’ll say. You’re going to hurt yourself. This isn’t safe.
And Tam knows it’s not. He can feel the shadowflux creeping through his veins; a cold, tingling sensation. It doesn’t hurt, not yet, but it will eventually.
It’ll take over, eventually.
Tam doesn’t care.
He’s standing on the edge of the cliff again, the one he and Linh used to come to when they went swimming. It’s clouded, today, the water below gray and upset. No more sunny blue days.
Sunny blue days disappeared a long time ago.
Tam came here to find some long-lost part of Linh, to remember, but all it does is hurt. Hurt and hurt and hurt again, and it never stops.
It never stops. It’s never going to stop. The only way is-
The water below is dark. It won’t catch him this time.
Tam takes a shaky step forward.
A flash of silver, a small cry cut off too soon. Blood staining the grass and getting on Tam’s hands as he rushes to her, too late.
And a laugh. High and cackling. Tam knows that laugh.
“Gethen.”
And he turns away from the cliff.
-/-
They’re at a human picnic spot, sharing a piece of fruit the gnomes gave them for lunch. Linh’s laughing at something Tam says when a screech echoes through the air.
A hawk has just picked up a mouse in its talons, carrying it through the air and towards a tree branch. Linh gasps and stands up, but the humans on the other side of the clearing are faster- one grabs a rock and hits the hawk in the wing. It goes crashing to the ground, and the mouse scurries away.
The humans leave, laughing, as Linh rushes over to the bird.
“It’s hurt,” she says, gently lifting a wing that is bent in a way no wing should ever be. “We need to help it.”
“It was going to kill that mouse,” Tam points out. “You didn’t want it to do that. Why are you helping it now?”
“Because it’s hurt,” Linh says, glaring at him, “and it was just trying to find food. And even if it wasn’t-” she shakes her head- “it’s a living thing. If you can help a living thing, you should.
“If you just leave it, it could die. No one deserves that, no matter what they’ve done.”
Tam sighs, crouching down next to her. “Fine. How can I help?”
-/-
The security at Gethen’s prison cell isn’t very good.
The goblins at the door didn’t even give him a second glance as Tam moved through the door- although, to their credit, Tam is pretty sure he still has a reputation as “Sophie Foster’s friend.”
Still, he doesn’t get any questions as he moves through the stone-lined walls and stops in front of a chilly cell. The man inside gives him a sharp smile.
“Tam Song,” he says. “I’ve been wondering when you would come to visit. Last time we talked you seemed a bit… unstable.”
“Last time we talked I tried to kill you,” Tam says bluntly. “Now I’m here to finish that.”
He summons shadowflux, ignoring the chill that runs through his whole body. He’ll deal with that later. Right now, all that matters is his sister’s murderer.
Gethen laughs. “You always were stronger than the rest of them,” he shrugs. “I’m not surprised to see you’re the one who went insane.”
“I’m not insane,” Tam growls, pushing the shadowflux closer to the man. “You killed my sister. Now you’re going to pay.”
Gethen’s eyes glint and he starts to say something, but Tam pushes the shadowflux into his skin and whatever he was going to speak is lost in a scream.
A flash of silver, a small cry cut off too soon.
Tam narrows his eyes and forces the shadowflux closer, pushing it into the man’s brain.
Blood staining the grass and getting on Tam’s hands as he rushes to her, too late.
Gethen’s body goes limp, but his eyes are wild and Tam knows he’s still in pain.
A laugh. High and cackling. And-
Gethen falls to the floor, his chest no longer heaving. He’s gone.
He’s gone, and Tam should be happy. Linh is avenged. She can move on now. She can be satisfied.
Linh wouldn’t want this, Biana’s voice whispers in his brain. It wasn’t for her. It was for you.
“No,” Tam bites his lip so hard he tastes blood, falling against the cold stone wall. He’s so cold- everything is so cold. “No, no, this was for her. This was for revenge.”
But he can see Linh, leaning over that wounded hawk. She looks up at him, straight at Tam, and her brow furrows.
No one deserves to die, no matter what they’ve done. She says, shaking her head. She stands up, moving toward Tam. What have you done, Tam?
“I just wanted them to hurt,” Tam whispers. “I wanted them to die.”
Linh frowns sadly and the memory dissipates. Tam sinks to the floor, head in his hands. The floor is cold, the walls are cold, he’s so cold-
Shadowflux moves toward him, burrowing under his skin. Tam lets it, lets it move through his bloodstream and into his heart.
Everything is cold.

__________________________________
It had been weeks since Loki had last seen the sky. Weeks since he had felt the wind in his hair, chilling him in the most pleasant manner and tousling his raven locks even more than they had previously been. Weeks since he had felt the sun's warm rays on his skin, a calming comfort bearing the promise of a day yet to come. Weeks since he had crashed on this horrible planet, been stranded in this place that consisted only of ragged rock and stone. Weeks since he had been brought into the caves, the tunnels and catacombs winding through the entire planet like an anthill, the city underneath the surface of all that cold stone. Weeks since he had managed to gain the favor of the king, pledging his unyielding loyalty to yet another ruler. This was starting to become an infestation in his life, really… changing allegiance like others changed their garments.
Yet, Loki was a smart man, to say the least. He knew what it took to survive in a seemingly inescapable purgatory like this, hell, even profit off it if he went about it correctly. And as long as he sensed a personal advantage, he was all for it. At least until he would see a chance to escape this place without drawing any severe harm to himself.
Thus it was no surprise that after a few weeks of flattery, of strategically placed opportunities to prove himself valuable and of some minor felonies, Loki became a highly valued yet not fully trusted member of the royal court of Underworld. That's what they called their kingdom… Underworld. Not very creative, in Loki's eyes. But the king was a nuisance anyway, a brutal and cruel tyrant one shouldn't underestimate; Loki had learned that quite soon. When the king asked for something, or rather demanded for something to be done, one couldn't refuse. Not if they wanted to live to see another day.
And so it came the day – or night? – when Loki was summoned to the grand throne hall. Honestly, he had lost track of whether it was day or nighttime, for life down here went by different rules anyhow. As he strode through the many narrow, torch-lit tunnels leading from his assigned quarters (a rather small cave that at least was equipped with everything he deemed necessary) towards his place of summoning, he wondered what the king might want this time around. Someone to scratch his back maybe? Or to tell another story to keep him entertained while he dined? Loki snorted at his own thoughts.
Yes, life down here was rather easy for him. He had a bed and a fireplace against the insufferable cold of the eternally ongoing stone, food and fresh water in the plenty. But he knew that not everyone was as lucky. He had been outside of the area one could consider a palace a couple times, and he had returned deeply shaken. The people of Underworld suffered, very greatly so. Certainly, there were always some people in every kingdom who suffered, for that could hardly be prevented for a longer period of time. But here, it wasn't merely some people who suffered. It was THE people. Singular form.
Loki may be mostly concerned about himself and his own affairs and well-being, but he wasn't cruel. He still had a conscience, and a heart… even though he wished he didn't, for it made his life down here so much harder to bear. Yet, he knew that there was very little he could do about that and thus the knowledge that he was highly privileged weighed heavy on his conscience at all times. He just couldn't shake it off, couldn't become the cold and heartless man he pretended to be on the outside.
As he entered the large throne hall, he cringed internally. It was stuffed with prestige objects, valuables from other realms that might have excited him in a previous life, but that now only served to him the purpose of proving the king's vanity. Had Loki himself really wanted to be like that at some point…? That version of himself seemed more distant now than ever before.
"Loki, my friend!" The king's croaky tenor voice greeted him a moment later and Loki flashed his most charming, and most fake smile.
"You called for me, your majesty?" He replied politely, bowing ever so slightly while his stomach turned at the action.
"I did indeed. I need you to so something for me, god of trickery." The king started in his condescending, almost mocking manner that Loki had grown increasingly numb to. "It seems I have broken one of my toys. You are to fetch me a new one."
The words made Loki's blood freeze over and the bile rise in his throat. By the norns, why did it have to be him this time around? He had been able to close his eyes to this before, had been able to block it out of his mind… but now he couldn't any longer.
The truth came crashing down on him like a cave's contraction, crushing him between miles deep of stone. Loki felt sick to the stomach. The king's 'toys' were nothing he wanted to become affiliated with. Poor, innocent girls reaped from their families at any age the king saw fit. And now Loki would become the reaper, if he wished not to be tortured to death.
"You see…" The king continued to speak and drew Loki back out of his mind. "...this is a matter of trust. I trust you, Loki, to bring me the girl of my choice unharmed and untouched. If you accomplish your task you will be rewarded with certain… liberties, in this kingdom. Like the freedom to venture wherever you please. But if you fail to fulfill your task, I'm afraid you will breathe your last."
Loki flashed on of his brightest smiles once more, bowing yet again. "As you wish, your majesty." Then he turned around, trying to convince himself that he was NOT fleeing as he walked back towards the exit.
"And Loki?" The king called out to him again, upon which he turned around with as neutral an expression as he could manage. "My head of guards will see you to the destined girl's residence and detail some men for your protection."
Loki nodded once, then turned back around and his eyes fell upon the swarm of men waiting for him at the entrance. Surely they weren't detailed for his protection, but for his supervision indeed. Obviously he wasn't the first person assigned this task who considered choosing escape over obedience. Oh and Loki wanted to escape, now more than any time before. He needed to come up with a plan of how to get himself out of this mess, and off this planet. Underworld was no place for him to stay.
The first step always was to gather some more information. Thus he took the opportunity of the small army of guards leading him out of the palace and towards the city for some questions.
"May I ask, why does this… reaping require my presence?" He started off, hoping that some easier questions would loosen the tongues of the guards and make them warm up to him.
"He needs someone to take the blame." A guard in simple leather armor answered. "If the people have another face to hate, they won't know that we take the girls for the king. And he likes to play games."
"Charming." Loki sighed, frowning to himself. Of course, if someone to take the blame was needed it would always be him, no matter the realm he was in. How truly wonderful that at least some things never change. He rolled his eyes once he knew that no one was observing him too closely. "How often does he break his… toys?"
"Every couple weeks." Another guard shrugged. "Sometimes he does it on purpose though, when he grows bored of them. Or when they… fall ill."
A very much unwanted shiver ran down Loki's spine, but he kept his cool, knowing that he had to. But he wanted to know more, even if he wished he didn't have to. "What happens to them afterwards?"
"You don't want to know." The guard mumbled in return. "No one wants to know."
"And what happens once we… what are we doing again, officially? Once we reach the girl's home?"
"We escort her back to the palace."
"And then?" Loki inquired further, trying to squeeze as many questions into this unpleasant experience as possible.
"Then she won't be your concern anymore, and you'll be better off forgetting about her altogether. The king is very strict about that."
"Strict about what exactly?"
"Anyone who touches what is his, who lusts for what is his will not live to see any trial."
"A bit possessive, isn't it?" Loki commented sarcastically and one of the guards snorted, only to be nudged in the side by one of his fellows.
Loki sighed to himself. These men knew nothing of relevance and even less of importance.
Thus, all he could do was to let the guards lead him through the maze of tunnels and the differently sized caves, until they halted all of a sudden in a rather narrow tunnel. Loki's brows furrowing in an instant, every fiber in his body on high alert. The dim torchlight danced across the stone walls and created deep shadows in the corners of the tunnel, casting illusions on the rough surfaces.
"You will wait here." The guard in the front spoke to Loki, who only lifted his brows in question. "We get the girl, then we're going back."
Before Loki could complain as for why he had to come all the way here just to wait in the shadows now, half of the guards hurried on into the next part of the tunnel while the rest remained watching him. Now… he could easily overpower them, sure, but he also knew that he wouldn't find his way out of the maze of tunnels alone. He only knew his way around the palace, vaguely, not all the way to the surface of the planet. And being lost down here in the tunnels was probably the only thing worse than being a royal prisoner.
Suddenly a loud scream echoed through the damp and chilled air, reflecting off the stone walls like the light of the torches and creating an eerie sound that made the remaining guards jump. It would've made Loki jump too, had he not spent centuries training his body to react visibly only at his will. Yet, he found the deep silence that followed upon the loud noise to be more sinister than the bone-chilling scream had been in the first place. Nothing good ever came out of a silence as looming as the one surrounding him and his guards at the very moment.
Then, finally the silence was broken by approaching footsteps, and Loki was almost glad that the guards were coming back at last. The first thing he saw was the glow of their torches at the curve of the tunnel, then they became visible as they approached quickly. One guard was carrying a limp body in his arms and Loki's eyes fixed on it immediately. The closer they got, the better he could see the outlines of your small form pressed awkwardly against the guard's feeble body. The poor guy looked like his legs might give out under your additional weight any second and Loki rose an eyebrow at them once they joined his guards in the tunnel. What he did not expect however was that the young man carrying you came straight towards him with a relieved expression.
"You will carry her back." He pressed out, looking like he might just drop you any second now.
"Yeah, I don't think that's going to happen." Loki replied with one of his signature breathy laughs reserved for internal moments of utter irritation, as he took a step backwards.
"Oh, you must. It's not up for discussion." Another guard said almost lightly.
"Why couldn't you just let her walk on her own legs?" Loki asked in what sounded more like snapping than he had intended. Luckily, the guards didn't seem to care much for his ways of conversing.
"They tend to make too much noise, and struggle more than necessary. It makes things easier to just knock them out for the way." The guard replied calmly. Loki had to realize that this must be a regular thing for them, a routine almost. The thought made his stomach drop and his head hurt.
"I'm going to drop her if you don't take her." The skimpy guard groaned and his legs started shaking dangerous, as did his arms.
"Fine, drop her then. Whatever. Not my problem." Loki commented coldly, looking at the guard in false indifference. He couldn't allow himself to care about anything but his goal of escaping as soon as possible. Everything, and everyone, else was a mere distraction to his own cause.
A few seconds later the guard's arms gave out indeed he dropped your body in an attempt to keep from breaking down himself. Loki watched you falling as if time had been slowed down just to torture him. Even in the dim light he could see your beautiful face, the dark bruise starting to form on your right cheekbone, the slightly parted lips… you looked so peaceful. So innocent. And for the first time in a decade his body didn't obey his reason as he caught you in his arms, only a broken second before you would have hit the ground. Time went back to moving at a normal speed, and he closed his eyes for a second as he stood upright once more, jaw clenching. Damn his conscience, and damn your stupid angelic face! This only made matters more complicated, and he hated it.
"Look who's not as tough as he always carries himself…" A guard to Loki's left laughed, only to find himself pressed against the wall of the tunnel a second later with a blade of pure ice pressed against his throat.
"Be careful who you speak to, and mindful of the ways in which they can kill you." Loki spoke in his most threatening voice as he tried to keep your body balanced on only one arm while holding the blade pressed against the man with the other. Yet, upon the beyond frightened face of the guard, he let the blade disappear again and hoisted you up higher against his chest with both arms. He wasn't particularly strong for a god, but in comparison to the people of Underworld he was Hercules himself, and thus he found no trouble at all in carrying you. What did trouble him a great deal on the other hand was not to stare down at you while they made their way back towards the palace. And not to let himself care.
"What's her name?" He finally couldn't resist asking, already blaming himself for the first signs of attachment forming in his mind. Gosh, he couldn't let himself get sucked into this.
"Y/n." One of the guards answered him. "She has been on the king's list for a very long time."
"And why has he waited until now to reap her? He does not seem like a man inclined to take pleasure in delayed gratification." Loki was beyond careful in wording this statement, for he knew that an insult to the king equalled a self-imposed death sentence.
"She's been hard to find and even harder to capture. Usually the girls he goes for aren't much of a challenge when it comes to their reaping. But this girl, Y/n… she's killed more guards than the beasts living in the caves below our feet!" The guard mumbled in disdain at the loss of his friends. Loki couldn't feel sympathy at all for the men who willingly stole innocent people away from their lives only for them to pleasure the mad tyrant on the throne. In his opinion, every single one of them deserved death more than most people he had killed himself in the past. But he couldn't be the one bringing them their end this time, for he needed to remain in the favor of the king a little while longer.
When he finally allowed himself to look at you, it left him wondering how a person could look so innocent while obviously being so lethal. Somehow, he felt a sense of pride in that, and a sense of very faint relief at the knowledge that you were a fighter. Maybe you could survive becoming the king's new plaything. He felt sick yet again at the thought, and even more so now that he was the one carrying you towards your doom. But he needed the reward he would get for accomplishing this task, he needed the freedom to roam the tunnels of Underworld to find a way to the surface. Maybe he could offer to take you along with him on his escape, if you lived to see that day. The prospect didn't make him feel any better. What he was doing here was wrong, very wrong indeed, and he was well aware of that.
"How did you knock her out?" He heard himself asking as his eyes remained fixed on the gentle curve of your jaw, the bruises and cuts, the dried blood just below your bottom lip.
"Poison." One man answered easily enough and Loki found himself shivering yet again. "So she doesn't run even when she wakes up. The only possible antidote is safely stored in the palace."
"Didn't you mean to say so that I don't run, with her?" Loki snapped before he could keep his mouth shut. How could these people do such cruel things with a smile on their face? Prior to his stay in Underworld Loki had believed himself to be a cruel man… oh how wrong he had been.
Since running with you wasn't an option, because of the poison, and neither was running without you, because of the tunnels, Loki found himself walking all the way back to the palace with you in his arms. He hoped dearly that he could just drop you off somewhere and forget about you for good, but if he was honest with himself, he knew that he wouldn't be able to forget. Not after spending forty minutes carrying you to the point of his arms going numb, after using his own precious magic and energy to keep you from shivering all too badly, after shielding you from the hungry gazes of the guards. Honestly, Loki didn't know why he was doing any of this… developing a weird sense of protectiveness over you only to hand you over like prey the next moment.
Finally, once they reached the gates of the palace, he realized that to him, you were a warning sign. Reminding him that this place was despicable, that he needed to flee as soon as possible, that the king was not to be messed with. Reminding him that if fate had played him any differently, it could very well be him on the throne. A mad tyrant caught up in an illusion and unaware of what he was doing to the people around him. And for once Loki found himself glad that he still had a conscience, still head a heart. Otherwise he would not be any better than the people bringing your doom upon you. Yet, if his conscience kept talking sense to him, he knew that he would lose his mind. Over you.

Dr. Jacob Black
Birth name: Jacob Kaleb Clayton
Attire: When among people in the day you will most likely see him in street clothes to blend in and not draw attention to himself. Perhaps a tv shirt or hoodie with jeans.
However when he is out as Dr. Black, normally with his lovely creation, you will see him sporting a black suit, a cane and a black mask. Sometimes he will also wear a top hat looking as though he stepped out of the 20's.
Jacob stands at around 5'10, he has a slender yet fit build, black hair & dark brown eyes.
PERSONALITY: seeing as he hasn't been the same since he got out of the assylum, but he was generally quiet, withdrawn and actually quite caring when it comes to family, whomever he lets in to be family.
Another side of him is ruthless, dark and heartless, doing what he feel he needs to in order to do what he feels he must.
He can be awkward at times and has two sides that fight between doing right or wrong.
Skills/Talents:
Brilliant and genius are words that have been used many times in his life, though he's never really been big in the muscles area, but what he lacks in brawn he makes up abundantly in brains.
He knows how to fight in a way that he can strike certain points on a persons body to disable them within moments. He knows the human body very well and has the speed and know how to fight almost anyone (in most cases) down
EQUIPMENT
He favors a cane that has multiple uses, being a custom cane, it made of pure silver with a hidden sword. it also has compressed gasses within that can go from knocking out someone, paralyzing them or even poisoning them
History:
Doctor Jacob Clayton
A.K.A. Doctor Black
Langford Institute... Jacob never belonged there, he had been put there against his will and without proper cause, at least that is what he kept trying to tell the doctors there, but of course no one believed him, or really cared, he was a free genie-pig for them and they couldn't care less rather or not he was sane, well all but one doctor... She did believe him and tried to get him released, but that never worked out and he never saw her again.
Lets go back some, to help you get a better understanding as to how Jacob K. Clayton, a once respectable and admired physics doctor and prodigy wound up in the Langford Institute.
Jacob grew up in a small town in Ireland to a couple who owned a small potato farm, they didn't have much but they had enough to live, but it was early on that the young couple first saw their first born was created for more than just farming potatoes, but in order to feed this bright child's intellect they would need money and resources that they just didn't have... So when one of their relatives who had moved to America came to visit, the couple saw their chance.
Stowing the young boy onto the ship back to the Americas, his cousin took him away from his homeland, his family, everything he had known in pursuit of a brighter future.
Jacob Clayton transformed into Jackson Davil, he was given a completely new identity which was hard for the young boy to grasp for a time, it wasn't explained to him why his parents sent him away, only that they said he would be able to really 'grow' without them which didn't make sense. What was life without family?
Young Jacob however did grow, more and more brilliant every time one turned around, though there was no day that went past that he didn't think of his parents, that he didn't wish to go home, and when his cousin got married to a very rich and abusive man, he wished to escape all the more.
Jacob won scholarships to many universities at the age of 13, extremely a
dvanced for his age it was harder for him because he had no friends and the only family he had, his cousin, was found dead in her basement... suicide they had ruled.
He was now completely alone and his now his new guardian, her abusive husband had complete control over his life and the man made sure it was a living hell.
As soon as Jacob turned 18 he ran off and took on the new identity Jacob Black and was found by a professor who referred him to a think tank where Jacob's talents were truly used. Unknowingly to Jacob that it was his abusive guardian who was pulling the strings.
Jacob felt as though he was in heaven... He had his free rein of projects, equipment, privacy and quiet, which at this point he had become accustomed too for the most part, though it was difficult still to be so alone, but that loneliness had a chance to change when a young woman and fellow think tanker offered an olive branch to the anti-social estranged young man, this young woman he was come to fall for and she for him, which didn't settle well with another member who had his shot with her but blew it several times.
Being the bigger man was more of Jacob's thing, and for the other member, he preferred the more petty route.
One day Jacob came to his work room and found authorities ravaging through his work, enraged by the sight he tried to stop them and was arrested on the spot, accused of creating a inhuman and terrorist fueled experiment. This wasn't true of course but the evidence was stacked against him and soon after he was consider to be clinically insane.
Over the years in the institute, Jacob tried to prove that he wasn't insane, but after a while he began to wonder if he was crazy, there was only one person in the institute; a doctor, who believed him which was really the only thing that kept him going. When the doctor who did believe him tried to get him released she disappeared and that was the last straw for Jacob.
Teaming up with another 'inmate' the two plotted an esca
pe, but not before new 'treatments' were established, treatments that caused a very adverse effect before he did escape. Jacob became diagnosed with did,  obtaining a new identity (or a few) within his own consciousness... Jacob was able to keep most the voices suppressed except one who seemed to convince him that he was there only to aid, slowly Jacob and the voice later to be named Kierson, quickly began their work to repay those who wronged him...
With the help of his most prized creation, Felony Black; a once fellow inmate at Langford, she is dedicated to Jacob and Jacob alone, him forever to be 'her doc' she has been the most successful creation.
Though he has had multiple subjects, none have or can surpass his little Felony... This proved to be quite so when Kierson took over completely, though in the mist of still working for her doc (Who she knew was not) she obeyed Keirson until it came to 'put away' her real doc, betraying Keirson she stole the doc who was trapped in his mind of his own body after Keir had successfully removed his consciousness from Jacobs and placed himself in a new body with His 'Nightingale', Keir's newest creation, by his side, Felony took doc and escaped back to earth one.
Now what is the fate of the Dark doctor? We shall see...

Of Dungeons and Dragons
TITLE: Of Dungeons and Dragons
CHAPTER NO: Prologue
AUTHOR: LailaMaryGoode
ORIGINAL IMAGINE: Imagine the Avengers, but set in a fantasy, dungeons-and-dragons-esque world. The Avengers are a special, famed guild known for their heroism and expertise. Loki (a battlemage/illusionist) is brought to the guild as punishment for attempting to subjugate a city.
One day, on a small mission to respond to a forest fire, he finds MC, a druid/dryad. MC is struggling to deal with the fire, drained of power by the blaze. Loki rescues MC while the rest of the team puts out the fire.
RATING: MA
NOTES/WARNINGS: T+ for now, for violence, language, and gore. Since the original imagine involved a dungeons-and-dragons-ESQUE world, I just decided to make stuff up as I went along, since I did in fact google what a Druid was. And, I play Skyrim a lot, so I’ve got a good feel of that type of story. ^^ I hope you enjoy this, even if it’s short!
“Loki Laufeyson,” Said the Jarl, Nicholas Fury, from his throne-like chair. Before the dark-skinned leader were the famed Avengers, a guild beyond any reckoning of strength and finesse, holding the chains of the rebel Loki, a sorcerer assassin and battlemage turned rogue who had, just recently, attempted to subjugate the Capitol Dihgaurous through a series of well-placed kills of members of the royal family and court, and a sudden attack by his followers. The raven-haired trickster was chained, bound, and stood with a smug air and knowing smirk, watching Fury’s every move. He was unbothered by Loki’s stare, and continued on. “You have been charged with murder, theft, trespassing, genocide, and an innumerable amount of crimes befitting a person of your… Specialization. You have committed these crimes against Augilauth and her people. What say you in your defense?”
Whilst Fury listed the numerous felonies, Loki merely scanned the room casually, sucking his cheeks in as if trying not to laugh. Now, he grinned up at Fury maliciously, like a wolf who found easy prey. “If anything, have I not shown you how helpless and vulnerable your cities are?” His words were fast and struck deep, like a snake, and Fury fought the urge to lunge at the chained man. How dare he mock his country’s defenses?! Loki continued lightheartedly. “Your people slaughter each other in droves while you idly watch. Under my rule, they would be forced to obey, instead of disregarding orders without fear of punishment. I really don’t get what all the fuss is about– I would have been helping and fixing this land, but apparently, that isn’t what you want.” Loki’s icy gaze narrowed challengingly, in perfect sync with his mocking tone of voice. Fury clenched his jaw, resistance only a hair’s breadth away from leaving him. “Your punishment, as decreed by the Augilauthin Royal Family and Council, is dea-” “WAIT!!!” Thor, the biggest Avenger in terms of strength, earned looks of disgust at his shout. Beside him, Anthony Stark rolled his eyes. Either ignoring them or truly not noticing, he stepped forward, still holding on to his end of the chains binding Loki, who, to Fury’s amusement, was even glaring at his brother in disapproval. “He may have wronged many, and yes, he did commit crimes worthy of punishment, but he is of Asgard, and he is my brother.” “Technically, I’m of Jotunheim.” Natasha Roahnmahnoff, an esteemed assassin for the Royal Family, slowly turned her gaze onto Thor with a calm air. “He killed eighty people in two days.” Loki perked up cheerfully. “Yes I did.” Fury glanced warily to the young boy of fifteen inching closer to Anthony– Peter Parkor, he believed his name was. The newest addition to the Avengers and nephew of Anthony himself. Despite being accepted into the guild of heroes, he seemed all too innocent and naive to be a warrior. Thor shifted uncomfortably under Natasha’s glare. “… He’s adopted… But that doesn’t matter! He’s my brother. And because he is from Asgard and the son of Odin, it is law that both your rulers and ours must each give him a trial, and then together decide what is best. But Odin has renounced any responsibly for him, so as I am also a son of Odin, and his brother, my word is law on this matter. And I believe that he may be a valuable asset if he can be reformed– which I know that he can be.” Almost everyone scoffed or put their face in a hand; Loki did both, clearly tired of his brother’s antics. Thor met everyone’s disapproval with a smug expression. “If I remember correctly, the same thing was done for Natasha, when Clint found her. Are we to ignore those loopholes because Loki and I are foreigners?” Silence fell over the room at his bold statement. Fury admired Thor’s determination to save his brother, even if Loki didn’t want his pity or assistance. Seeing that in Fury’s eyes, Thor pushed harder. “He will stay by my side at all times, and become an additional member of the Avengers. Strange,” Here, he gestured to the powerful sorcerer floating idly behind the group. “Shall take Loki’s magic until he is reformed, and he will be under constant supervision. Ban us if you will, but Augilauth will always need its heroes, and then you will be blamed for the uprising in crime when we are gone. You have two choices: accept my offer, or plunge Augilauth into chaos. What say you, Jarl Fury?” “… Whoa,” Said Anthony, a little stunned. “I had no idea you and Lokes were so much alike…” “Call me that again and I will slit your throat in your sleep, Stark,” Loki grumbled. Burc, the Orc in the group, pinched the bridge of his nose in exasperation. “This is going wonderful already…” Fury sympathized with Burc’s irritation. He stayed silent for a good while, weighing Thor’s ultimatum. Finally, he sighed heavily, knowing there was no good way out of this. “Very well, Thor. You may have your way. Loki, from this moment on, you are a member of the Avengers. Your penance is to repay the citizens of Augilauth over a period of time by assisting in saving them from their various perils. If, at any point, you are deemed reformed by the country, your magic will be returned to you, and you will be allowed to leave the company of the Avengers. Until then, you are to remain under their supervision. Failure to do so will result in immediate death. Do I make myself clear?” Loki was angry now, his blue eyes narrowed to almost closed. His voice was barely a low growl when he spoke. “Crystal.” Fury nodded to Steven Roggrs, leader of the Avengers. “Then you are all dismissed. Take him away.” Until he was forcefully turned away by the departing Avengers, Loki held Fury’s gaze with such anger and cold steel that Fury was discomforted. Despite Thor’s beliefs, he felt that this would not turn out for the better…

I Owe You One
Pairing: Nalu
Word Count: 1,737
I haven’t written in AGES. I forgot how much I enjoyed this. Anyway, I hope you like this little story 🙈 And yes, kids can be really cruel sometimes.
“Look! Natsu is playing with his little doll again!”
“It’s not a doll! It’s a dragon!” Natsu defended himself, but it all fell on deaf ears as all the kids in the playground laughed at him.
He was used to it, though. Ever since his first day of elementary school about six months ago, the second graders had decided to pick on him. He did not quite understand why he was their target, he always tried to stay out of trouble, as his foster parents told him to.
The older kids took his precious toy -a red dragon his late father had given him before passing away- and started playing around with it, tossing it to each other and raising it above their heads so Natsu couldn’t grab it.
“Give it back!” He yelled while chasing his bullies in a fruitless attempt of getting the dragon back. The rest of the kids in the playground laughed at the desperate look in Natsu’s face, all but one little girl: Lucy Heartfilia. The cutest girl in all of first grade. She was very quiet and very smart, often spending her time alone in a corner with her eyes glued to a book, although half of the kids in her grade barely knew how to read.
She never said anything, but the torture Natsu had to go through every day during recess did not go unnoticed by her. She always believed the way he was treated was unfair, but she was too shy to ever say anything. She watched from her usual spot how the group of second graders taunted the pink haired boy and she couldn’t help but feel bad.
“If you want it just come and get it, Pinky!” The leader of the pack said as he threw the red dragon to his friend.
“Please! Just don’t destroy it!”
“Why? You could just tell your dad to buy you a new one! Oh wait… you don’t have one!”
That did it. Lucy watched as Natsu’s expression turned from desperate to dark, and how, while everyone was too busy laughing at the bully’s cruel remark, Natsu approached him and punched him on the face.
Everyone fell silent, and Natsu stepped back with wide eyes, as if just realizing what he had done. After getting over the shock, the main bully clenched his jaw and fists in anger as he and his friends got closer to Natsu.
Everyone stepped back as the boys launched at him. They stood frozen while listening to the smaller kid’s cries. Lucy watched horrified. Enough was enough. She ran up to the boys and yelled at them to stop, grabbing the back of the shirt of one of the bullies and trying to pull him back. After deeming this strategy futile, she decided to kick the bully on his side. The little girl had never liked violence, but she believed it was necessary in this situation. She watched as the older boy bent over in pain.
After hearing all the ruckus, the teacher approached the playground. Once she realized what was going on, she rushed to separate the fight. The four bullies, Natsu, and even Lucy were sent to the principal’s office -who was surprised to see the blonde in trouble. After a talk with the parents, the four second-graders were suspended for a week.
“Thanks for what you did back there, I guess I owe you one.” Murmured the little boy as the pair of first-graders got out of the principal’s office with their guardians.
“It was nothing. That’s what friends are supposed to do, right?” She smiled. Natsu’s face brightened at hearing those words; he didn’t have any friends or anyone to talk to ever since he had to move to this town with his new foster parents.
“I get a girlfriend and she’s cute? Alright!” He said, not really thinking of what he was saying or how it affected the receiver, who was blushing furiously.
He was wearing a bright smile, showing all of his teeth. Lucy had never seen him so cheerful, it suits him, she thought.
After that day, Natsu and Lucy had become best friends. They were always together, and their classmates constantly teased them saying that they were boyfriend and girlfriend, which Lucy always denied with a blush while Natsu proudly stated that it was true, as he didn’t quite understand the difference between a girlfriend and a friend who happens to be a girl.
Everything was great, until the last day of first grade, when Lucy told Natsu she was moving away.
“We are leaving Sunday. My dad just told me last night.”
“But why!?” Natsu couldn’t believe it, this was his only friend!
“He got a job in Magnolia. I tried changing his mind but he wouldn’t listen… I’ll never forget you, Natsu” She whispered, tears falling from her eyes.
“I’ll never forget you either, Lu.” he wrapped his arms around her in a tight embrace. “Thanks for being my first ever girlfriend.”
Lucy chuckled and hugged him back, “You’re welcome.”
12 years later
“Truth or dare, Lucy?” Asked Cana from her seat at the edge of the bed.
“Ummm, truth.”
“Why did you break up with your ex?” Asked Juvia, the newest member of the group. All the girls had known each other since middle school, but they had just met Juvia when they started college a few months ago.
“Actually I don’t have an ex. I’ve never had a boyfriend.” Confessed Lucy, a hint of red dusting her pale cheeks.
This came as a surprise for the bluenette, though not so much for the other girls who had grown up with Lucy and seen how picky she was when it came to boys.
“You have to have had a fling or something at least, right!?”
“Well, there was this one guy” Lucy let out a breathy laugh as she recalled the closest she’s been to having a boyfriend. She told the girls about the shy little boy with weird coloured hair and a golden smile.
“That’s so adorable!” Gushed Mira, who was a hopeless romantic. “Have you heard of him since then?”
“No. I tried to find him when I got my first phone but I couldn’t find anything. He was my first best friend.” Lucy looked down, a nostalgic smile on her face.
“Maybe he’s dead.” Shrugged Cana, only to be shoved by Erza.
“Ignore her.” Said the redhead while sending Cana a dirty look, who returned the gesture. After seeing Lucy’s expression turn from nostalgic to worried, she attempted to change the subject, “You know, we are out of popcorn. Who’s up for going out to buy more?”
“I’ll go.” Lucy smiled, though the look in her eyes made it obvious it wasn’t genuine. Juvia, Levy, and Mira began to stand up to accompany her, but Lucy shook her head. “It’s okay. It’ll just take like ten minutes.”
The blonde got her things and got out of the dorm building. 10 P.M. Not too late for any of the stores nearby to be closed, but late enough for the moon to be shining high in the sky. There weren’t a lot of people out and about, just the occasional student heading to a frat party or out for a late night snack.
She couldn’t help but think of Natsu. Cana’s comment got to her. How is it that after all these years she had never heard from him? She couldn’t find him in social media at all, and none of the old classmates she had contact with had heard anything from him after he moved at the end of fourth grade. She wondered if he was moved to another foster home. Had someone adopted him? Did he run away? Is he on the streets right now? Did he join a secret cult where they have to sacrifice animals as part of the initiation ritual?
Lucy’s overactive imagination was getting the best of her, and, before she could even comprehend, she felt someone else putting their arm on her shoulder. Before she could react, the person got close to their ear and whispered, “This guy’s been following you for like 5 blocks. Just pretend we are together.”
The young girl didn’t know how to react. She had never been in a situation like this before and she didn’t know if she should believe the person who, by the tone of voice and the amount of weight she felt on her shoulder, she assumed was a guy. She turned her head slightly to the side and looked back secretively. Undeniably, she saw a sketchy-looking man behind them. She looked up to see the much taller man beside her; he was looking straight ahead and his head was covered with a bright green hoodie. Although she couldn’t see his face, his way of holding her and walking did not make him look like he was out to hurt her. Not to mention, she figured no criminal would be as stupid as to wear such bright clothing when they are about to commit a felony.
After a block, the man who had been following her seemed to have given up on attempting anything, because they saw him turning the other way while dragging his feet frustratedly. After making sure that he was out of sight, the guy next to Lucy let go of her.
“Thank you for-” Lucy settled in front of the stranger and looked up, finally being able to see his face. He looked awfully familiar but… it couldn’t be, could it? She watched as the handsome man’s countenance changed from a soft, carefree smile to an expression she couldn’t quite comprehend; His mouth was slightly agape and his eyes looked at her in… disbelief? The blonde caught a glimpse of the salmon coloured hair popping out of his hoodie and all doubts were vanished from her mind. Natsu. He looked exactly the same as he did all those years ago, just more… mature. She couldn’t believe it. What was he doing here? What are the odds that she finally found him when she was least expecting it?
“Thanks for what you did back there.” She beamed with tears threatening to fall from her eyes.
Natsu looked at her in awe, and showed her that golden smile that was so undeniably… him.
“I told you I owed you one.”

to lucas: r u ever nervous for a boy to join p&p for any reasons other than how they'll like it there?? for example, because of their particular disorders or recorded behaviour
Hi there. Great question.
We usually look for young men who don’t have a history of mental health problems or any behavioral issues, but oftentimes, the gentlemen are being passed around and don’t stay in one place long enough to be comfortable enough to act out. (I understand that that may sound backwards, but in our experience, this is the case.) That means that when there are problems, Zakk and I are usually the first to find out.
Keep in mind that the gentlemen are typically coming to us after being taken from their families, which is traumatic enough in itself. Anxiety and depression are highly, highly common after an event like that. Add an undiagnosed mental illness or an undocumented behavioral concern, and Zakk and I instantly have our hands full.
It can be a little stressful to wonder whether or not our newest addition will turn out to be coping with something that we didn’t prepare for. We’ve had three personality disorders, an eating disorder, and two self harmers. We’ve also had two boys who barely speak, one (nearly successful) suicide attempt, a young man try to run away, multiple gentlemen engage in reckless and aggressive behavior, and one even commit a felony. So yes, that can be overwhelming. But keep in mind, when these big things happen, they’re not all at the same time. This is over nearly two years. We’ve also had members who truly are both physically and mentally healthy and don’t have any issues with even anxiety or depression.
Regardless of all of that, my hope when every gentleman walks through our front door is that they will feel safe and accepted and know that they are cared about. For some of them, that is what they expect. For others, this is a brand new experience, and that comes with a (sometimes rocky) adjustment period. We have to take it slow every time, because the boys are almost always more nervous than Zakk and I are.

BTS Mafia AU: When they see their AU after 2 years apart
Jin:
At 27 years of age Jin had achieved a lot. Perhaps not in the most legal of ways, he had risen up the ranks and was now one of the most feared mafia leaders in all of East Asia. It hadn’t been easy, carrying Bangtan on his shoulders from a young age to the position they had reached now- at the epitome of all power. But Seokjin was a proud man, he had kept his head clear of all distractions, and all episodes of vulnerability had been dealt with in a mature and responsible fashion. Not a moment of weakness in his entire career, pure dedication to his line of work and in taking care of his members.
Well, there was one moment of weakness, and maybe that one moment was the only true instance of utmost strength. He never let his mind drift to the thoughts of you on a regular basis. He had people to take care of and was always accountable for every decision his subordinates made. There was no room for carelessness when every breath was a matter of life and death. However, there were certain days, typically Sundays, wherein he allowed himself to slump into his dark leather couch and lie there for some sort of short lived eternity.
‘’Why do I even pay for cable…nothing half decent is ever on Television these days.’’ He mumbled to himself. Body flat on the side of the couch, his limbs folded inwards to minimise the effect of the cold air that seeped into his apartment. It was when he was switching channels, to avoid watching the unnecessarily long commercial break that interrupted his Awesome Alpaca’s documentary, that he caught sight of your face. Years of having trained himself to match faces with names had allowed him to recognise the changes in your visage immediately. It had been two years. Even with your hair grown longer than he used to remember, your pure skin covered with a layer or two of make-up and your slender hands dipped in cake batter, nothing had ever seemed so magical to him, ever.
‘’While mixing, make sure you get as much air into the batter as you can.’’ You said, your eyes downcast as you focused on the work at hand, the camera panning the kitchen to rest on your face. He watched your brows scrunched in concentration, breath caught in his throat as he stumbled off of the sofa onto the hardwood floors, gaping for a sense of reason. Jin had looked for you everywhere. After that dreaded night when you had been taken hostage by a rival gang, Jin pulled every resource he had to locate you. Only to be handed a video recording of your apparent death by the scoundrels that had taken you away from him. He had made sure to end their pathetic lives the very same day.
‘’This isnt possible…the video…’’ he whispered into the darkness, crawling over to the television, the only source of light in the apartment and ironically towards you. He couldn’t help himself from raising his sweaty palms to the screen as he finally understood what was going on. You were alive and well. The tears that had been held tight in his eyes for the past two years, burst from their confines like a dam, as he bent down apologising for not finding you sooner. For not protecting you as he had promised.
‘’Hyung?’’ said Jimin, frowning as he stood in the doorway to the living room, watching his favourite human being caress the flat screen TV as if his life depended on it.
‘’Jimin….look.’’ Jin’s voice trembled as he spoke, his eyes never leaving the screen. The other man, scurried his way over to the device, eager to witness the cause of such distress. It didn’t take long for Jimin to grasp the situation and he was as shocked as any other witnessing his pretty noona live on a B grade cooking show.
‘’We’ll take you to her hyung…I am getting the car out now.’’ Said Jimin, his voice falling to deaf ears as Jin’s sobs continued to surround them.
Namjoon:
It had been two years since he had last seen you. Two years since he become a ruthless, hard-core killing machine with nothing left to ground him to sanity. If it hadn’t been for his team, he might as well have destroyed everything, including himself. Most of his days were spend trying to crack aggravating business deals, trying to expand his power and authority across the land. The concept of going home and relaxing was something he hadn’t thought of in a long time. After all, there wasn’t anything good waiting for him at home. You were long gone.
This particular Friday evening saw him sitting in Exquila, the newest resto-bar in town, waiting for clients who had promised to arrive 30 minutes ago. Late comers were a bad omen, those who meant business always arrived on time and Bangtan’s leader hated to be kept waiting. He had only taken a sip from his glass of bourbon when he saw you exit the staff-only room, untying your black smock as you walked towards the exit. Kim Namjoon had often made a spectacle of what religious souls assumed to be ‘’God’’, criticising their belief as impractical and lame. However in that moment, the very same Namjoon, looked down to the ground and prayed. Prayed that this time he would be able to keep you safe and with him until death do you part. Breath hitched in his throat, arms stiff to the side, thoughts muddled with tears glossing over his eyes, he rose from his bar stool and attempted to walk towards you. But what if you no longer wanted him? What kind of a person would still be in love with a monster after 2 years apart? You were just a simple girl and he was only trouble. You must’ve moved on, found someone better. Right? Insecurities clouded his mind as his legs remained glued to the ground, unable to move.
‘’Well, aren’t you a pretty lil thing?’’ sneered Choi, his wicked grinning face looking at yours as you tried to leave the restaurant. Namjoons client for the evening was a boisterous, self-confident and dark man. His soul blackened by greed, lust and felony over the years.
‘’Sir, if you could please move out of the way. My colleague would be happy to find you a table.’’ You said, gritting your teeth behind a fake smile. His demeanour seemed lecherous and you wanted nothing more than to get out of his face which seemed to inch closer to yours with every passing moment.
‘’Oh beautiful, I’d rather find a seat with you… on my lap.’’ He said, winking as he bought his forefinger to trace your jaw. It was then that Namjoon saw white. Regaining power over his limbs he walked towards you in powerful strides.
‘’If you don’t get your filthy hands off of her, and your sad excuse of a personality out of this restaurant, I’ll make sure you never leave the hospital for the rest of your life.’’ Namjoon growled, voice deep and sinister as he held Choi’s wrist in a vice like grip.
‘’Mr Kim, I…’’ said Choi, whimpering as the pain on his wrist became unbearable. Luckily he had understood Namjoon was serious and skittered away, not before giving the two of you a frightened look.
‘’Namjoon?’’ You whispered, raising your hand to his shoulder so as to turn him around to face you. ‘’Please look at me?’’ you said, trying to hold back your tears. It had been two years since you’d last seen his beautiful face and you weren’t sure if you could go a second more without it.
‘’No…Leave right now. You shouldn’t be near me. You’re only going to get hurt. Leave right now because if I turn around, I might not…’’ he said, his head dropping as he stood his ground.
‘’You might not do what Joon?’’ you replied, walking around to face him.
‘’I might never leave you. I am a monster, I wasn’t able to keep you safe all those years ago and there’s no guarantee of it now. We weren’t meant to be. So just please…go…I won’t be able to hold on much longer if you don’t.’’ He murmured.
People often say that love never dies. That true feelings are everlasting. Because in that moment, you wanted nothing more than to ignore all of what had made you leave this perfect Human being in the first place.
‘’Kim Namjoon. You aren’t a monster. And even if you were, you’re my monster. I wasn’t safe all those years ago because someone in your own company decided to go against you. We’re stronger now. You and Me. Perhaps we will get through this and perhaps we won’t, but right now, I need you to give us another chance. Can you do that for me? Hmm? I…I never stopped loving you Joon.’’ You whispered. Tears flowing down your cheeks as you hiccupped through the last of your monologue.
If the underworld ever caught wind of the great Kim Namjoon standing before a girl, trembling in nervousness they would laugh at the proposition, perhaps even going as far as shooting down the messenger. But you, you knew the man he was underneath all of that anger and destruction. And it hadn’t taken him long to fall head over heels for you. Cupping your cheeks, he placed your lips onto his own, promising to never let you go.
