the bathroom scene in the bourne identity is the most tension filled buildup i’ve ever seen?? the way it’s filmed, the silence, the gentle way bourne touches marie, how she moves first and he shies away from her kiss before kissing her back, the intimacy is palpable

#we’re reading Frankenstein in English rn #and honestly I’m loving it #but goddamn #this is difficult #the question is about human connection in the book so far #and #okay ig spoilers for the novel Frankenstein by Mary Shelley #but it is so difficult to just say #the characters in the book make assumptions based on appearances #and bc the monster is ugly and so not-human or wrong in so many ways #they don’t even give him a chance at human connection #which is shown as an important part of ppls humanity and goodness #thru frankenstein’s whole thing in chapter 3/4 #so like #human connection is one of the things that make us human #and because the monster isn’t human enough appearance wise he’s not even given a chance at human connection #they assume he’s just a horrible monster that’ll kill everyone #look o don’t even know if this analysis is close to correct but I’m too tired to know or care #The Crab Speaks

#hi. my name is pluto and i came up with yet another idea for a fic #will i ever finish the previous wips? who knows #anyways. imagine a spiderverse cafe au where the spiders run a small cafe/restaurant/bakery whatever #the parker surname is funny inside joke bc none of them are related #peter b is either that one employee whos been there longest (has a lot of experience) or is the owner #peter b's mary jane delivers the fruit and vegetables and whatnot. theyre exes and are trying to act professional #but they decide to try again (like in the movie). the drama is unreal and the rest of the spider squad tease him about it so much #gwen is that one punk teen thats kinda scary. feels like shes judging you but shes actually just tired #rude customers stand no chance against her. makes delicious coffee. makes the best playlists. chill coworker #peni is also a teen. the best coworker you could ask for. customers love her bc shes very pleasant and overall really really nice #miles is the fresh faced part timer. kinda clumsy. well liked amongst the aunties and moms #draws THE BEST doodles on the cups/bags and so on #noir is also the scary coworker whos very chill once you get to know him. takes care of the deliveries. makes the food #strong as fuck. all the moms and grandmas fawn over him but hes clueless #felix (male felicia hardy. kinda an oc at this point?? love him so much) is one of the delivery guys. very punctual and pleasant #also very charming. brings gifts and things like that to people he likes. sneaks in snacks #benjamin (noir) doesnt care much for him at the beginning but after some time he weirdly?? feels upset?? when the delivery person #is not felix?? they start talking while taking the stuff out of the delivery van. laugh. get to know each other better #then felix starts visiting the cafe/whatever. becomes a regular. benjamin starts giving him food/coffee 'for the road'#the rest of the squad thinks theyre disgustingly adorable and try to get them together #I JUST CAME UP WITH THIS BUT I WILL DIE IF I FORGET ABOUT THIS #midnightfangz.txt #fanfiction #writing #long tags #spiderman: into the spiderverse

I have been really loving Fruits Basket so far, but I’m at the end of the show and I gotta be honest.......I’m not feeling some of these resolutions?

#mostly how the curse has been broken #it had such a massive build-up so I really thought the key to solving it will be dramatic #like Idk maybe they had to climb a mountain and search a labyrinth to find an old temple with wall-paintings that had the answer or somethig #basically something groundbreaking #but nope apparently the curse just.....wore off on its own? So boring #there's also Akito #that hoe doesn't have one redeemable bone in their body #yet the show is really dead-set on giving them a 2nd chance and for what?#like years of beating insulting tormenting and straight up attempt-murders can't be brushed to the side like that #then there's Yuki still being a Mary Sue #still easily beating up Kyo in a one-sided fight without any retaliation from him even at the very end #I just want see someone beat or read him just once #3 eps left but I'm sleepy....#basically my biggest issue is how forced the happy ending is but lets see if they will do something to change my mind in these 3 eps #Fruits basket

#pondering #I can’t believe it’s been a year since I gave up on my last crush #it seems like so long ago I feel like I’ve lived eight lifetimes since then #but it also feels like just yesterday #and yet I feel so…. distant from him #I mean I also never see him anymore #the only reason I did then is because I’d seek him out #and even then….#idk what I’m trying to say #just that things change #and myself of two years ago would be amazed #that I’m able to have a normal life and think about him minimally and painlessly #because two years ago I was in the DUMPS #I went through this intense phase where I just felt like I *had* to be with him and got to the point where I’d just cry out of fear that #that I’d die before I got a chance to make him fall in love with me #it was so bad I was so paranoid and lovesick and and and.. ough #I still remember that night so well #it was also a Wednesday like today and it had been an awful day and I had a headache #and I just thought. I can’t take this anymore. where are we even going. he’s never going to notice me never #i GIVE UP #it was mostly an impulse but looking back I’m so glad I followed that particular impulse #it’s like when Edmund walked out of Mary’s house not because he was super resolved but more on an impulse of the moment #just felt like the thing to do. and I may have regretted it once or twice afterwards but in the end it absolutely WAS the right call #and a couple months later YOU-KNOW-WHO showed up #absolutely insane events happening to me last year.#but now I feel like the girl from that one video #“girl who is going to be okay” djdjdhdh #but really! (but, being no home, there’s always gonna be a huge honkin’ knife to accompany the fluffy friendship moments)

my current theory is that Haejoon is haunted by what happened to his mom (a literal haunting? maybe), but he’s also perturbed that he could be comforted like back when he was a kid from someone other than his mom?

like, Juwan cuddles Haejoon when they’re sleeping, which comforts Haejoon and allows him to sleep well, but he has mixed feelings about the fact that his guy friend is cuddling him like his mom used to because he’s 1) still torn up about what happened to his mom (UNDERSTANDABLE) and 2) had no friends when he was young, so he had never experienced touchy-feely platonic affection before

I’m sure the real reason is more complicated and heart-wrenching than my guess though!

#no home #Juwan really grew on me #he's still quick to jump to conclusions and treat his assumptions as facts #but he also tries really hard to reach out to folks and make friends #even if he didn't necessarily get along with them before?#like... from his PoV Hara just yelled at him for no reason when they were kids #but he still stuck by her and encouraged her after seeing how her mom interacts with her #and now they're best friends #he didn't really have a real reason to try to befriend Marie but he is conscious of the fact that she eats lunch alone after interacting #he talks to Eunyung normally even though they don't like each other #(or maybe he's just too dense to realize that Eunyung doesn't like him???)#anyway he's quick to forgive and willing to give people a second chance so far

Impulsively spent an hour making a big splat tune playlist and lemme tell you I forgot how much I just do not care for off the hook songs. Damp sock however? Absolute fucking perfection they take the best part of off the hook (Pearl and Marina's voices) and both let them properly shine and also fixed what I didn't like abt off the hook music (the boring ass instrumentals) by doing what sploon does best and going ham with the piano and guitar

do rlly like the idea of marie and mijaal managing to get along at least a Little entirely bc of the blood-alcohol automaton. it clings to the modiste bc shes one of the closest to it in its entire life but it also has this wary fascination w mijaal (built off the mija de haal misconception and then growing from there. it really likes lacewing <3)
