- he usually sleeps in his normal attire, he has no energy to get up and change

- sleeps 4 hrs MAX

- his thumbs are always I mean always are covered by the rest of his fingers tightly, he probably decays mattresses every couple of months by accident

- either super light sleeper or super heavy no in-between, probably doesn't even sleep most of the time

- there's no pre-sleep routine. mf just plops down into the bed and blacks out OR he sleeps in his gaming chair😭

- if you're sleeping next to him, he would make sure he's facing the opposite side with his hands dangling at the edge of the bed just to make sure nothing happens to you.

- one thing that makes him black out is playing with his hair, like blackout like snore mimimimi type shit

- he's so still in his sleep, barely moves to the point you might think he's dead if he wasn't breathing‼️

- Overall he'd be a pretty good person to sleep next to (if he even sleeps) just make sure he doesn't have nightmares or everything is done and dusted (literally)

- he either sleeps naked or something that can't snag on the staples/ irritate his scars (probably naked bcs have you seen his room?? ITS EMPTY EMPTY THERES NOTHING BESIDES HIS USUAL CLOTHES)

- I give him 5-6 hrs maybe then he wakes up but on nights where he's in too much pain, he takes a shit ton of painkillers and tries to sleep just to wake up 2 hrs later

- she has a pre-sleep routine and it's adorable, if it's in the broke era she steals face masks (specifically hello kitty ones), moisturizers, toners, face washes and skips back to the base with a smile on her face

Ok I love this chapter so much. Sakamoto is such a great father/brother figure to shin. They have such good chemistry as a family. Though I wonder if Sakamoto couldn't make it in time to stop Shin, what would happen? What happens if Shin breaks the family rule to protect the family? I doubt anyone would immediately chase and shun him away like he thought.

At this point, Sakamoto (and others) cares for him too much to let him go. Not saying they resolve this inner conflict too fast, but I hope we see more of Shin struggling with his dark feelings and learning to deal with it like Sakamoto. Shin's come so far, but he's still pretty naive tbf. He will soon face so many more hardships for him to get stronger. I hope he can still be that kind-hearted person that he is despite everything.

I'm really curious to know how far they'll go without killing (which I root for but I'd be lying to say that I'm not interested seeing any of the sakamoto kill anyone to protect/revenge at all).

Also lowkey sad we didn't get to see Torres vs Heisuke. A bit of Tenkyu listening to Sakamoto and Shin talk is interesting, the seer girl (sorry I forgot her name😭) was saying he could never get back to Uzuki so maybe either dead or join the Sakamoto?

deep diving into the angel hierarchy of heaven's secret:

disclaimers: a) most of what i'm writing here are my own thoughts and theories; b) i'm not yet caught up with the abh january update, so if there is anything missing from there i'll add it later on

in the original duology we never got much information about how the angels hierarchy work in this universe and only knew a few names, however we did get the full picture in hsr and the order goes: seraphims > cherubs > thrones > supremacy > authority > beginning > archangels > angels

so far into the hs we've only met representatives of 3 of these 'classes' (aside from regular angels ofc) and i put one for each here:

(moreover, keep in mind these rankings are not exclusively set by birth, as we've seen rebecca climbing from the very bottom to the very top)

now it differs a bit from most of the christianity angel rankings, in which supremacy and beginning don't exist, no alternate names that i found had these names but i don't think it matters. in this context they would be replaced by dominions and principalities, respectively. still going by these, there's an omission of virtues but they do what they gotta do (or maybe they belong to that empty spot in the middle)

going back to heaven's secret, the only visible difference between angels of different spheres is that those of the first sphere have yellow/golden wings, whereas everyone else has common white/fair wings. a good example is fencio, who lost his throne status and therefore - the colour of his wings as well

i also don't think they would've shown us the full ranking if it wasn't gonna be explored more, after all we went years without it with no issues. and it was only the angel's that was revealed, not the demons' as well

from the new characters we only know of mikael's ranking so far - archangel. which tbf makes it a bit hard to guess everyone else but here are some theories:

raphael: although he is not mikael's blood brother he could still also be an archangel. throughout the book we see he has a special connection to heaven and formidable power - he could be a regular angel with unusual abilities. i don't think he is higher ranking than mikael since he is his 'subordinate'

somnus/furius: higher ranking than mikael. i haven't seen the wings to put them amongst the actual big shots but if i had to guess i'd put them in the second sphere - they have enough power to be an archangel's superior but if they had actual power they'd be busy ruling heaven and not supervising earthly matters

anhea: regular angel. she has said it herself she fought the war against the mother of life on the outskirts while the big names were in the frontlines

edit feb/25: anhea confirmed she is a lower ranking angel

cain: everything about him is a mystery ngl. if we are to believe pileon's words about him going against his own family, the type of power he possesses, the easy superiority in fights/energy/strength against other immortals - i would say he is in the very least an archangel. the recent confirmation that his family is indeed dead (and he was very very likely responsible) made me think he either got a lenient punishment (which wouldn't happen if he wasn't 'important') or he got a punishment similar to fencio's and lost his original ranking. or maybe he's just old idk

There he was, sitting at the little table with a cup of ramen in front of him and his phone propped up in front of him.

“Soobin.” You glared at him. Sumin, bless her heart, tried to pretend she couldn’t sense the tension as she slowly opened up the door to the fridge.

“You know why they sent you to the basement, right, Y/N?” Soobin asked, raising his eyebrows at you.

“No, but I’m sure you’re about to tell me.” You rolled your eyes, turning to the fridge to fish out the salad you brought for lunch.

“Because they don’t trust you enough to do the important stuff.” He told you with an amused tone to his voice.

You spun around, slamming the fridge door behind you. “Really? Remind me, who did Taemin pick to help him with the Park case? Me! Not you!” You snapped, jabbing your finger in his direction pointedly.

“Y/N!” Sumin hissed your name scoldingly, as though he wasn’t the one who started it.

Soobin’s smug smile twisted into a scowl at your reminder. “That’s just because I had the flu and wasn’t here. You were just his second choice.”

You had successfully managed to get under his skin--which wasn’t very hard--and were satisfied as you sat down at one of the other tables with Sumin. “Sure, Soobin. Keep telling yourself that.”

He started to raise his hand, like he was going to make some sort of rude gesture at you, but flinched and tucked his hand beneath the table when someone else walked into the room. You furrowed your eyebrows together, and turned in your seat to see who it was. His ears must have been burning, because Taemin himself had decided to join the three of you.

“Oh, hi, guys.” He smiled at you as he walked over to the fridge. You glanced over at Soobin over Sumin’s shoulder. He was staring back at you, with his eyes narrowed and jaw clenched.

That was another thing about Soobin that had always bothered you. Especially in moments like now, where he looked like he was seconds away from murdering you, no matter how hard you tried to ignore it, he was extremely attractive. You had always thought so, even back a million years ago when you were friends. His dark eyes and his perfectly shaped lips just did something to you that you were slightly ashamed of.

You swallowed hard, diverting your attention down to your salad. You could already feel your skin becoming hot, and there was absolutely no way you could ever let Soobin get even an inkling that you might be attracted to him. It was just all so humiliating.

“Y/N, Soobin, I actually need to talk to the both of you. Could you meet me in my office after you finish lunch?” Taemin asked, and you immediately looked back over to Soobin to see if he knew what it was about. His eyebrows were furrowed together, though, and he looked just as confused as you.

“Um, do you mind me asking why?” You asked hesitantly, looking over at your boss.

“Don’t worry, it’s nothing bad. I just need your help with something.” He reassured the two of you wish a smile.

When he left the break room, you could hear Soobin grumbling in his corner. You wanted to ask him what he’d done to get you both in trouble, but you were also not in the mood to fight with him. Not when you had to go and face Taemin in just a few minutes. He said it was nothing bad, but you weren’t sure you believed him.

While you finished eating your food, Soobin stood by the doorway, huffing dramatically as he waited for you. Just for that, you took the smallest bites you could, which just made him even more annoyed. Sumin was clearly feeling very awkward as she ate her food, eyes flickering between you and Soobin like she was waiting for one of you to attack the other.

Once you had taken the final bite, Soobin stomped over, and grabbed your wrist to tug you out of your seat. “Clean up for her, will you, Sumin? I’m sure you already do that a lot.” He asked your friend, before dragging you out of the break room before you got the chance to protest.

Finally, you snatched your wrist free from his grip, rubbing the sore spot as you trailed after him in the direction of Taemin’s office. “Ugh, you’re such an ass, you know that?” You murmured.

“Me? You’re the one purposefully taking forever when our boss is literally waiting for both of us.” He snapped at you.

You don’t say anything else, worried that someone else in the office might hear your childish squabble.

When the two of you finally reached Taemin’s office, Soobin opened the door, and you’re shocked when he gestured for you to walk in first. Then, you remembered how much of a suck-up he is, and that your boss was on the other side. You shot him a glare as you walked in.

“Oh, good! You’re here!” Taemin greeted the two of you. “Please, sit.”

You obliged him, sitting down on the small couch across from his desk. Soobin sat down as well, and you immediately noticed his leg pressed up against your own. The same heat you felt before spread across your skin like a wildfire, and you cleared your throat.

“So, as you know, the Kang vs. Choi trial is happening next week. Now, Jun was supposed to be in charge of sorting through all the files and compiling them into binders, but his appendix burst and he had to get surgery.” He rolled his eyes, as though Jun was just being dramatic.

“So, now I have fifteen boxes full of papers that need to be sorted through… And I need to get them to the Court tomorrow.”

“Tomorrow?!” You blurted out, eyes wide.

Taemin nodded. “I know, it’s short notice, but Jun claims he had been ‘busy’ and was ‘getting around to it’ before his appendix burst. So, I was hoping you two would be willing to stay late tonight and finish his work.”

“Tonight?! But—“ Soobin started, but was cut off by Taemin.

“You don’t have to do it. I’m more than happy to ask one of the other interns. I figured you two would just like the opportunity to help me out with this…”

“Absolutely yes, Taemin! I can’t speak for Soobin, but I would be delighted to help you with this!” You might as well have held up your hand in salute from how militaristic your answer came out.

Soobin glared at you. “Yes, I am also very willing to help you.” He said as formally as possible, but he couldn’t hide the slight annoyance in his tone.

Taemin smiled. “Great! I’ll have Jisung bring up the boxes, then you can get to work later!” He told you, which you took as your cue to leave.

Soobin trailed after you as you left the office and started to return to your desks. “I can’t believe he’s making us work all night to sort through a bunch of boxes.” He muttered.

“What, did you have a hot date tonight, or something?” You teased, glancing at him over your shoulder.

He raised an eyebrow. “Why? Are you jealous?” He asked, and you immediately scoffed in response.

“Why in the world would I be jealous? If anything I would feel bad for whatever poor soul has been tricked into a date with you.” You quickly snapped back at him.

“Whatever you say, Y/N.” He said with a sigh.

You hated that a small, minuscule part of you was happy he didn’t have a date.

BY THE TIME EVERYONE ELSE HAD CLEARED OUT OF THE OFFICE, you and Soobin had managed to get through seven boxes. It was nine o’clock at night, and the exhaustion, as well as the hunger was starting to hit you. You still had eight boxes to go through, and you weren’t sure how you were going to make it through the night.

“God, I’m so hungry.” You muttered as you picked through the papers in the box you were currently working on.

You expected him to make some snarky comment or something, but he didn’t. Instead he just let out a small hum in agreement. “Me too. Should we try ordering some food?” He suggested.

You nodded, then made the mistake of glancing over at him. At some point during your sorting, he had lost his tie, unbuttoned his shirt down to the middle of chest, and rolled up his sleeves to his elbows. His dark hair, which had been meticulously styled when he came into work that morning, was now a disheveled mess. There was a thin sheen of sweat that glistened against his skin. He looked way too good under the soft glow of the office lighting.

“Sure. If anywhere is even open.” You replied, eyes flickering back down to your box.

“I know a good place. I order from there all the time when I’m working late.” He said plainly.

“You work late a lot?” You asked as you pulled out a thick stack of papers.

“Yeah. I mean, don’t you?”

“Of course I do. I just… I dunno, assumed that you had other things to do besides work…” You shrugged.

He leaned back against the table he was working at as he worked on ordering food on his phone. “Why would you assume that?” He glanced up at you with furrowed eyebrows.

“I don’t know. I guess I just thought that a good looking guy like you would have a bunch of girlfriends and friends to hang out with.” You felt your face grow warm as you worked, once again avoiding his gaze like it was the plague.

He laughed. “Yeah, I wish. I’m way too busy for that…” His voice trailed off, and you could feel him look up from his phone to look at you. “You think I’m a good looking guy?”

You shook your head, while you started tapping the papers against the table to straighten them out. “No, I didn’t mean it like I think you’re good looking. Just, like, you’re objectively a good looking guy. I think. Sumin thinks you’re good looking. Not me, I definitely don’t—“ Your hand got too close to the paper, and you felt the edge slice straight through your palm.

You hissed loudly, dropping the papers onto the table. “Stupid fucking paper.” You muttered to yourself, and Soobin wasted no time rushing to your side.

“Did you cut yourself? Do you need me to go get a bandaid or something?”

“No, it’s fine. I just need to go and rinse it off.” You told him, trying to push past him in the direction of the bathroom. He pressed one of his big hands against your shoulder to stop you.

“Just let me get you a bandaid.” He rolled his eyes at you. “I think Sana keeps some in her desk…” He mumbled as he started digging through the said woman’s drawers.

You huffed, turning around to lean back against the desk. “You better hurry. I think I’m about to bleed out and die.” You called out to him.

He glanced up to give you that same annoyed look he always seemed to wear around you. “Maybe I should let you. Then I wouldn’t have to put up with you everyday.”

“But then who would keep you on your toes?” You asked pointedly. He finally found a bandaid, and started walking back over. “Admit it, Soobin. You need me.”

He didn’t say anything, instead focusing on opening up the bandaid. He held out his hand, gesturing for you to put yours in, which you did hesitantly. He had really soft hands.

You watched as he gently pulled off the tabs of the bandage, then laid it across your palm. He used one of his long, slender fingers to smooth it down and make it stick.

It wasn’t until he glanced back up at you when you realized how close he was to you. His dark eyes met your own, and you had the instinct to look away, but something about his gaze had you entranced, and you couldn’t look away, no matter how hard you tried.

“Fuck,” he breathed out, hanging his head down. He took a step back from you, and it felt like a warmth had disappeared. You blinked at him as he ran a hand through his hair. “I can’t pretend anymore, Y/N.”

“What do you mean?” You asked quietly, although you had a feeling you knew exactly what he meant, because it was the same thing you were thinking.

“I can’t pretend like you’re not all I can think about. At work, at home, at school, I can’t get you out of my head.” He confessed, and for a second the insecure part of you thought he might have been saying all of this as some sort of cruel joke, but the look in his eyes told you it wasn’t.

“Thanks…?” You played stupid, tilting your head at him. You needed him to just come out and say it, to confirm you weren’t crazy, and what was happening was really happening.

He let out a frustrated sigh. “When we were freshmen… And I told Hwang Hyunjin you were kissing the TA…”

Your ears perked up. Was he finally going to explain what that was all about, after all these years?

“It was because Hyunjin told me he was planning to ask you out. And I got jealous because I wanted to ask you out, but was too scared to do it.”

Oh.

“You did?” You asked quietly.

He nodded. “Of course I did. You were smart, funny, and gorgeous, of course I wanted to ask you out.” He was avoiding your eyes now, his cheeks tinted pink.

“And… How do you feel about me now?”

“I feel like you’re incredibly annoying, and sometimes you’re a bit of a know-it-all, and some days you dress sort of like a grandma—“

“Hey!”

“—but I also think you’re smart, probably smarter than me. And you still manage to make me laugh. And even though you do dress like a grandma…”

Your heart jumped up into your throat when he started walking back over to you, getting just as close to you as he had been before. But then he got even closer, leaning down so his lips were aligned with your ear.

“…You look like a sexy grandma.” He whispered in a low, sultry voice.

You immediately burst into laughter. “Oh wow, Soobin, you really know how to get a girl going.” You told him with a laugh, and he leaned back to look at you with narrowed eyes.

“Shut up.” He murmured while you continued to giggle.

“Here, let me show you how it’s done, okay?” You wrapped your fingers around the collar of his shirt, and gave it a tug so you could lean in close to him. You didn’t say anything for a moment, just letting yourself catch your breath.

“Are you just going to breathe in my ear the entire time?” Soobin asked in an irritated tone.

You shook your head. “No. I’m going to tell you, that right now, with your sleeves rolled up…” You gently dragged your fingernails against his bare forearms, and you felt him shiver. “And your shirt unbuttoned…” Your hand traveled upwards to trail across his exposed collarbone. “And your messy hair…” You reached around to brush your fingers against the hair on the nape of his neck.

“You look incredibly sexy.”

He leaned back and immediately bent back down to connect your lips to his. He kissed you harshly, like you were the only thing that could cure his hunger. His big hands found home on your hips, while your own nestled themselves deeper in his hair. Just like you had predicted, his lips were perfect for kissing.

One of his hands let go of your waist, and you heard a scuffle behind you. For a brief moment, you pulled away from the kiss to see what was going on, just to find he had slid everything off of your desk. With it all clear, his hands wrapped around your thighs, and he lifted you up onto the desk and slotted himself between your legs.

He went back to kissing you like a mad man, using one arm to hold you close against him by your waist and the other to stabilize himself against the desk. Your fingers moved quickly across the buttons of his shirt, undoing each one until the shirt was completely open. As you started to trace your fingers against his abdomen, he slid the hand that was wrapped around your waist under your shirt, practically burning against your bare skin.

Just as he was starting to prod at your lips with his tongue, there was a loud banging noise, which caused you to help and immediately cling onto Soobin.

“Oh my god! We’re gonna die! The killers always go for the people making out first!” You wail, digging your fingers into his collar to keep him close to you.

He rolled his eyes. “I take back what I said about you being smart.” He said with a sigh, and you gasped loudly.

“Shut up, you ass!” You hissed at him, smacking his chest and pulling away from him.

He gave you a lopsided smile. “Kidding. Anyways, I’m pretty sure it’s just our food.” He told you with a sigh, staring down at you while his thumb brushed against your swollen lip.

You shivered. “I guess we can always… Finish this later, right?” You asked quietly. As much as it pained you, you were still starving, and had lots of work left to do.

He pouted. “Promise?”

You nodded, then sat up to gently press your lips against his. As you sat back, you smiled at his dazed expression. “I promise.”

Lately I've been dwalling into the Batfam fandom again, even obsesing more in a fic that I've been writing in my notebooks since 2018, but that's for another moment.

I don't usually read too many comics, and tbf, there are a lot and the timelines are a fucking nightmare, I do plan, however, in reading DCceased (?), I love the man that Damian became growing up, and sadly I spoiled myself with the ending, suffice to say, it will be heart-breaking.

Anyway, as I was reading some batfam fics, especially this one: Who tells a tale of unspeaking death? who will brave this bitter grief? by an orphan account, I absolutley loved it and I love Damian so much, so I wondered how things would've been if:

When Jon left to space with his grandfather to space, Damian was not supportive at first with that idea, as he was receiving some weird vibes from the whole situation with Jon's grandfather... and kind of Personal experience in a way.

Jon decided to ignore him and say that it will be fine, he needs and wants to learn more about his kryptonian side with his grandfather, Jon and Damian leave with a bitter taste of hteir friendship but, well, may Damian can do other things in the meantime then.

Damian decided to take the time for the Year of Blood penance and meets Maya and Suren; it happens like canon, except, Damian remains dead, things didn't work out and with Dick now being Ric, the family mourns the youngest and now they cannot resurrect him. They simply won't, against their wish, need to mourn and accept death.

In just a matter of a two weeks, the Batfamily are receiving the support they need, baby steps, however when Clark lears of the situation he is at the terrible position of notifying his son of his best friend's death. Its already heart breaking seeing his friend's grief over a child no older than 14... Clark is preparing with Lois to deliver the notice.

Its not until some week that Jon returns now almost 6 years older as a 17 teenager, with the determination of going home and speak with his family and best friend Damian, thinking how in response he will tell him an "I told you he was creepy af." and maybe, maybe go back with their friend shenanigans, save the cities and have more adventures... telling him a bout the people he met and the animals he saw in different worlds! Hopefully those 6 years haven't changed his friend much...

When he meets his dad, Jon has a heartfelt reunion with his parents, explains what happened as the years went by and the intergalactic heroes and community he met in his journey back home, and how Damian was correct about his grandfather and wishes to see how his friend has grown up!

Clark soon stops Jon from continue talking about meeting Damian very quickly, the atmosphere becomes akward after that and it's Lois who breaks the news to Jon, he has been out in space for weeks in the first place, not years, and even if he wants to see his friend, well... Lois doesn't get the words out of her mouth. She thought she could do it, but the words died in her mouth.

Jon is atonished, is that the reason why his mom and dad stayed so unchanged after 6 years? It was just weeks? He doesn't know what to think of it, until he just flies away from his parents without much of a thought but his heart beating faster and faster as he flies to a different direction and notices that everything is still the same, it dawns on him as he passes by multiple buildings he and his dad used to fly over years weeks ago ... how he was robbed of his childhood. Robbed!

Its not until dusk was setting that he realized he was flying directly towards Gotham City, he needed to speak with his best friend, unaware that his father was flying right behind him trying to stop him.

He wasn't fast enough, Jon is already knocking at the Wayne mansion and almost takes the doors down when there was no response.

Jon is taken aback by Alfred's appearence, he looked older, like he would supposed to look after some time, this already made him a little sick in the stomach, he knew grief, he saw it in his missions in space.

Alfred doesn't recognize Jon, not very much until he sees the Superman symbol in his chest, followed by the very same Superman behind him, apologizing to him and quickly explaining that Jon came back and they had a situation. Clark was planning on taking Jon away from the Wayne mansion until Jon asks where is Damian.

There is no response other than a slight flinch that doesn´t go unnoticed. Jon is insisting where his friend is, and cue Bruce, barely groomed and looking like someone has taken 30 years from him, he is a little surprise by Jon's presence, but when he is asked where Damian is for the third time, he just looks at a defeated and nervous Clark behind him and just... looks at him, either deciding what to do, if lcosing the door and ignoring a teenage boy who will most likely demand answers from him, but thankfully Tim and Jason arrive as well by seeing the conmmotion downstairs and they take it from there.

Jason tries to make small talk in the way, babling about a growth spurt or some cryptonain genes, ignoring that Jon aged faster in space, Clark is trying to explain the situation as well, following both vigilantes to a garden a little further from the mansion.

Tim and Jon are silent all the way, until they see Titus and Alfred the cat in a distance, Tim began talking about Damian going for a redemption journey from a mission he had years before where he had taken multiple lives in just one year, how he met the daugther of one of Damian's victims and the heir of an old Al' Ghul enemy who ended up befriending. They were silently listening to Tim until they stopped at a headstone, where it read in clear letters Damian's name, his birth date... and death date, plus a message and Robin Symbol.

Jon felt as if he was in space but falling into the Void. It was a lie. It has to be. He looked at his dad, saying that it was a cruel joke, but stopped himself from saying it out loud when Clark is looking away, from him and the tombstone.

Anyway, i haven't really given a thought to this, mostly I would love to read this scenario and Jon asking why they aren't bringing Damian back, and when he is being told that no, Damian will continue resting in peace, Jon would be devastated, at first angry... but later on crying on how if he had stayed, his dear friend would be alive and having a future... how he didn't say a proper goodby to Damian and their last interaction was a fight.

Just like Damian's family, all that is left are memories and regrets, something they'll carry for the rest of their lives. :)

What do you think would have happened if Izana hadn't died during the Tenjiku arc? Like he still got shot but survived instead of dying?

(OK just a warning before anyone starts reading this, this turned into basically a whole au and got a bit long)

Well this would heavily depend on two things, first how badly he injured he is and his recovery time and second is if everyone knows he's alive or if they think he's dead. But let's say he recovers a month after Kakucho (he did have extra wounds) and it's known he's alive. Once recovered I think he actually spends some time on his own instead of going straight to Kakucho. Izana just took some massive losses and basically had a lot of his ambitions turned upside down in that last fight, so I could see him having a bit of a depressive episode. Dealing with the grief of losing Emma, tenjiku his dream losing, his own physical injuries and possibly even guilt over having Kisaki in the gang and how he eventually shot Kakucho. So I think he has some time where he decides to retire and kinda just does nothing but survive.

And then South happens, after realising Kakucho got beat up and forced to join this random gang he's so mad. Kakucho is his! But it get's even worse when he learns the S62 have joined this random guy too (they did try to find Izana after they got out but he was too good at disappearing). He's also started hearing lots of rumours about Mikey too, how he has this new gang and he's changed. He's been conflicted about Mikey this whole time but until now he didn't realise how bad things had become for him. So he makes a clear plan to go get Kakucho back, knock some sense into his S62 and maybe talk to Mikey after. But that all changes when he's approached by brahman of all people.

Them having so many underground links (especially Takeomi's) allowed them to track Izana down and headhunt him for their gang. Of course Izana immediately says no though, he actually thinks their whole "save Mikey" plan is stupid. But they're persistent, basically popping up everywhere he is to try and recruit him, especially the leader. He ends up fighting Senju (he's actually curious about her skills and it's been awhile since he had a fight anyway) then eventually agrees to partner with them. He's not actually sure why he pattnered with them, maybe because he hadn't been around others in awhile or maybe because something about Senju reminded him of how Shinichiro used to describe Mikey, maybe because he has a fondness for little sisters or maybe he just wanted a fight. He didn't join though, he refuses to join a gang under anyone else. He also likely goes through some character development here. (Side note but because he probably wouldn't wear it but he'd look great in the uniform).

Time skip and the battle of three deities approaches, Izana's there and immediately targets South, changing the battle. Kakucho however, still goes straight to Mikey, he considers himself to be on Izana's side though. Kakucho gets thrown between the South and Izana fight. Now this really makes Izana mad and he charges at Mikey but get's taken out by Mikey who is fully consumed by the dark impulses, Mikey then kills South.

Izana wakes up in the hospital but he isn't sad this time, no instead he's furious. Mikey beat him that easily? How? (Tbf Izana was out of practice and Mikey had dark impulses) But it still makes him angry and he decides he wants a rematch. Kakucho, who didn't join kmg waits for him to recover then the two of them set off to do some training together. Until Takemichi finds Kakucho and asks him to join toman 2.0 (he wants Izana too but Kakucho is more approachable). Izana, who's been itching to fight Mikey again agrees to join. The fight goes kinda the same with the main difference being Hanma fights Kakucho, Takemichi fights to get to Mikey and ends up taking out a bunch of kmg and Izana does the same. For Izana especially though I think it would be cool if he ended up interfering in Senju's fight and was the one to take Sanzu out before the final blow he dealt Senju. Just because I love the idea of him going from being ok with his sisters death to saving someone else's sister/ maybe even saving Sanzu from making a mistake he made, seems like a good parallel. Anyway Sanzu get's knocked out but manages to regain consciousness and heads for the train. But this time Kakucho isn't with Takemichi when he has the vision, instead it's Izana who's with him since they're both trying to get to Mikey. Izana has a quick choice to make but decides to give up his revenge on Mikey to instead follow and help Takemichi save everyone, completing his character arc. He's the one to die saving everyone instead, this pushes Mikey even further over the edge and the dark impulses come out earlier then before but the fight still ends the same way.

Into the moonless night

(A Halbrand/Celeborn AU - Darksilver)

It was a night without a moon. The clouds covered the sky, and he could not see anything around him. He felt lost and disoriented. There was a throbbing in the back of his head. He touched it. He could feel the blood more than see it. He was hurt, which might explain the headache and his confusion. He couldn’t remember his name or where he was from. There was nothing from his past—just darkness around him and inside his mind. 

The elf, aware that he was indeed an elf, didn’t know how long he had been walking in the woods until he spotted a flickering red light. A fire! Finally, there was something good to look forward to.

Sauron sat in silence. The fire was the only light in his darkness. He had reassumed his Halbrand form to travel unbothered. His last victory felt like a defeat. Celebrimbor and Galadriel’s thoughts hunted him. And Adar? He was dead but still bedevilled him. 

Those were his thoughts when he felt a presence in the dark pitch of the woods. A battled elf approached him. He was hurt, that much he could see, and confused. His blond hair shone in the darkness—a bloody silver tone. Sauron could tell he was noble by his demeanour alone. 

Finally, new prey!

“My lord! - Halbrand said while getting up to come close to the stranger - You seem troubled. Come sit by the fire with me!”.

“Thank you, kind stranger! I do require help. I do not know where I am. Nor I recall what had happened to me!”. 

An easy prey indeed. 

“Do you remember your name, my lord?”. 

He was enjoying being Halbrand once again. 

“I fear I have no memory of that either!”. 

“My name is Halbrand, my lord! And I am at your service!”. 

Halbrand knew he would have so much fun breaking this kind spirit.

Things did not go as Halbrand had planned. The elf had no memories of his past. However, he was demanding and haughty, lethal and feral in battle. can i be riverpilled on main for a sec. if jughead has been controlling the narrative all along - which tbf we were told in the first five minutes of the show - then it makes sense that both betty and veronica are not representative of themselves, actually, but rather of himself. if we are to believe the story of riverdale, then two things are true: 1. that jughead has been in love with archie this whole time and 2. that jughead himself never wanted to be part of the narrative. think about it - each season, apart from 1 and 3, involve some kind of death/death threat for jughead (serpent battle, stonewall preps, rat…king? dead and sent to heaven for sabrina to retrieve him, literally booted out of the narrative). however, someone is still required for him to project his feelings onto. if you believe that riverdale is a story starting with the real events of jason’s murder, jughead takes on the role of investigator/narrator. this means he needs someone else to be the love interest: enter betty. someone he would’ve known since forever, and so all of sudden, as jugheads story starts, betty “réalisés” she wants to tell archie she likes him -> jughead’s own crush coming to light / vs. veronica coming to town and immediately catching archie’s eye (AND she resembles him, dark hair, dark clothing, pretentiousness galore) -> jughead wanting archie to want HIM. all of this explains why betty and archie never really click in s5, why betty repeatedly takes the chance to kiss archie despite her friendship with veronica being at stake (what jughead would do, if he could) why veronica cannot handle loneliness, why a lot of the time neither betty or veronica’s actions match up to the personalities that they actually have -> betty is repeatedly made out to be a “hero” struggling against her internal demons/serial killer genes despite everything that would condemn her as a bad person/friend whereas veronica tries to be better and still falls short at every turn -> representation of repressed homophobia re: how not confessing makes him feel better about himself, like he’s doing archie a favor vs. even thinking that he would LIKE to date archie makes him “feel evil”. in the end, betty and veronica don’t even actually care about archie, romantically; the one person betty misses more than anyone in the last episode is veronica (her long lost love) and veronica throughout the series spends more time trying to figure out what would actually make her happy even though she has archie and that should supposedly be the answer; this is their actual characters breaking through the shell of projection given to them by narrator!jughead. of course, this would’ve been solidified if cole sprouse wasn’t a coward and kissed kj apa on screen in the finale but you know what they say about the absence of a thing .

Answers have come with more questions, as they tend to do in One Piece fashion, but with Shamrock and Gunko setting sights on Elbaf, the stage is slowly beginning to set itself

Oh? Shanks went back to Marejois? Wonder why that gives him a little more leeway with the Navy

He grew attached to the world though - which Shamrock calls 'filthy' - which is why he left again

Hearing that Shanks went back only makes Loki dislike him more, but also notes that now he has beef with an entire family it seems

He continues to pledge violence once he's free, hoping to avenge his animal friends

Shamrock asks if it's a threat, Gunko tries to calm him but he agrees it's not worth dirtying himself over

Luffy notes that as far as he knew, Shanks was raised on a pirate ship, so he assumes that Roger and Rayleigh were his family

Over to Franky and Ripley who are at Treasure Tree Adam - lucky guy

Franky marvels how there's so much of the tree, expecting it to be rarer given its black market value

Ripley didn't know that it was rare and jokes about selling it on the side

Seems Saul is more protective of the tree, demanding that Franky didn't cut into it because it's a sacred tree - Ripley was sent to keep an eye on him

Ripley enjoys Franky's Saul impression, also she is still beautiful

Franky concedes that the value is probably because it'd be difficult to steal from Giants, but he then spots something, a mural

Ripley calls it graffiti, thinking it was likely down to kids a long time ago, which made it a heritage site - because it was done sometime around the Void Century

Aw Franky immediately thinks of Robin when he hears it's from the Void Century

He notices though that the drawings aren't all of giants, which Ripley confirms since it's full of multiple races

She thinks the mural was some kid's dream because of the cooperation

Class starts in the Walrus School, very unaware that soon to be 3 God's Knights are likely to be targeting them

Over to the Owl Library, Saul shows Robin and Chopper the Harley text

Chopper marvels at the size, but catches a big ball of giant dust

The Harley's cover also has the circle symbol we've seen a lot in One Piece, the circle with eight mini circles around it

The tome also holds other myths too apparently

As we were told before, the Harley's different interpretations have led to different interpretations of the Sun God

Robin asks to read it and Saul happily obliges

Turns out the Harley is split into 3 different texts; 3 states of the world - which explains why Giants believe the world has been destroyed twice before

The only common thing agreed upon is that Nika appears laughing to the rhythm we've heard before, with Saul also doing the dance

Robin decides to read aloud, which plays over Franky's marvelling of the mural

The First World allegedly burned in endless flame, the Sun God rose from the prayers of the enslaved

The enslaved must've done something though, since they are said to have 'reached the forbidden star', which angered the god of the land

With a Serpent of Fire, the God of the Land cast the world into ruin, darkness and death reigned

'They would not meet again'

The Second World was a breath that stirred in the abyss

The God of the Forest nurtured devils

The Sun lit the embers of war, those of half-crescent and full moons dreamed

But the ones who slew the sun deified themselves, angering the Sea God

Once more 'they would not meet again'

And finally the Third World: Chaos reigns, the world drifts into void

Time does not erase the memory of the promised day

The voice of the half moon echoes through the ages, and once more the Sun God will rise

In the final act, the sun is reborn, a new dawn will break

'Surely, this time, they will meet'

The mural itself is marvellous, while it's possible to be all three worlds I think it mainly depicts the first and second

To the left you can see the enslaved carrying fires in a factory

These fires look like stars next to the moon though

A dragon fights a big serpent, and between them is a ship similar to the Ark Maxim

The ship seemed to crash, and bring winged people and animals

In the middle there's the tree, but there's another fire or star to the side of it

Then on the left is a battle, a demon holding the sun battling armies led by Nika

Emeth, a whale, a giant, a mermaid, a fish, a samurai's boat, another boat adorned with the symbol, possibly a Lunarian and a Mink, a tontatta and two other species are also in battle

And in the middle is Franky soaking it all in

There are spreads like these where you just have to sit back and be in awe of it for a while, because this feels big.

I believe the mural depicts the first and second world since it was made during the Void Century, and thus the world had yet to fall into void. The image of Emeth implies that the second world is Joy Boy's time - 'those who slew the sun deified themselves' is likely a nod to the Celestial Dragons. It's just so much to dissect, but from what I'm seeing it sounds like Devil Fruit powers were perhaps initially due to the 'forbidden star', which probably led to Nika's creation, the resulting war brought Skypeians, Birkans and Shandorians to the planet from the moon - as depicted in Enel's cover story - but Nika lost, the world plunged into darkness.

The second world implies that the God of the Forest created Devil Fruits, and that they are rejected by the ocean because of the Twenty Kings putting themselves at the top. Perhaps Devil Fruits were a gift and they used it to overthrow the world, it also implies that DF users could potentially not be weakened by the ocean under some circumstances. The mention of the moons is interesting too, the full and crescent moon are common in One Piece, but since it's the sun who 'lit the embers of war' it's probably Joy Boy's revolution that did it. Interestingly, they don't say the Sun God in this World, just 'the Sun'; we know Joy Boy awakened his fruit because of Emeth but why isn't the Sun God listed here.

And finally we expect the Third World to be the current one; the Void happened but people don't forget, the sun god shall rise guiding the world to its final act. But there's some things that aren't too clear; who is the half moon that echoes through the ages? What is 'the sun' that'll be reborn after its demise in the Second World? And who will meet?

In terms of Norse myth I do feel like the first and second world have Muspelheim and Niflheim influences; endless fire and breath in the abyss (Niflheim meaning 'world of mist'). When the ice met the flames of both realms the ancestor of jotnar (giants) was born, Ymir.

But anyway, I'm interested in there being three shadow creatures too, I've seen some say that Imu is the one on the right, and they could very well be, but what if Imu's powers are a set of three? What if Blackbeard has another that needs to be awakened the same way? Three dark entities of the world's destruction...

We could go on all day about it, but there was a first half of the chapter to get to as well, so we'll leave it for now with me being glad that Robin, Chopper, and Franky had parts in the chapter for once, and Ripley ofc, though I do wonder if Lilith and Bonney were overhearing Robin's reading of the Harley. Now we need something from Usopp, Sanji, Jinbe and Brook.

Over with the Loki stuff, it is a surprise that Shanks went back to Marejois, maybe he did want to see what life was like there among his birth family? Regardless he still turned away from it. As I said before I'm sure Loki's alive, though he seems more and more like a potential ally as the chapters go on, where does that leave Hajrudin though? We're getting a lot of layers but no conflict right now.

But conflict will soon come, targeting kids is a scummy move but it may set the floor not only for Colon to encourage bravery from the others but for Elbaf to show its fighting spirit, I could definitely see Ripley going ham. When Gunko and Shamrock arrive though I do worry for Robin's group, including Saul, that feels like the next place shit will hit the fan.

We have more mysteries too with that cloaked guy appearing after Luffy mentioned Shanks' family, the shadow guy from earlier chapters has yet to show too, and a third God's Knight is coming, but the numbers are still quite uneven, things are gonna get a lot crazier before we see the full picture.

Now that I'm finally though with DBZ here a some ver general bullet points I made while watching of things I'm still thinking about after watching the whole thing (- the movies, I'm still gonna catch up to them) in a somewhat chronological order

The fact that we had that Goku and Gohan eyecatcher for 200 episodes and Gohan wore that outfit for 5 episodes at most

Every jump or dodge is on an olypmic gymnast level of complexity, like why was Goku doing so much when he jumped down from the Nimbus to face Raditz? Did he learn that from Kami or what?

Saiyans wearing only slips under their armor

Nobody mentions the complete colour change of Vegetas pallete from his first appearance; red head Vegeta will always be true to me 😔

I'm still not sure if they ever restored the moon after the second time they blew it up

How is Yajirobe getting up and down Korrins tower? I know he has a flying car, but where does he park it?

King Kai's presence as an unreliable narrator irritated me somehow

I don't get how Yamcha's death is such a meme? Like I don't question it's existence but him getting dragged so much even though there were way funnier deaths imo

I think this was also the last time Chiaotzu was relevant in any form

Why introduce the Saiyans as this cool alien giant monkey race if you never go anywhere with it after the Saiyan saga?

Vegeta crying out all the pent-up frustration from being used as a slave by Freeza at Goku's feet and Goku being emotionally unavailable to the whole thing

There is no way Goku would have been able to start Freeza's ship if it didn't crash into the core, I refuse to believe his button mashing had any thought behind it, that man does not know how to start a spaceship

The sounds of the planet exploding everywhere while Goku and Freeza are fighting haunt me

Bulma is so freaky for flirting with Porunga

Death has literally no consequences

Popo and Kami running for like an entire episode while Piccolo Gohan and Krillin were fighting was so funny

Also, Popo and Kami are a married couple, don't come at me. I'm just stating the facts

Freeza coming back from death and introduced back as this bloodthirsty entry out for revenge along with his father, who we've never seen before, only to be cut up by a teenager with a cool sword immediately upon arrival

So many situations and problems could have been avoided if Goku actually properly used Instant Transmission and I'm not fighting on that one

ChiChi must be the most loyal and faithful person on the planet if her man is dead or absent throughout most of the time

The whole drivers licence episode is peak to me

Piccolo telling Kami he needs to fuse with him again, Kami rejecting the idea saying he still needs time to think about it then agreeing immediately after 5 seconds

I don't get the logistics of Trunks hair growth. At the same time, boy drop the routine

The super saiyans of the Cell Saga were peak designs

Somehow Goku being really relaxed the days before the Cell Games really unsettled me

ChiChi saying thery were late to Kame House because Goku left them in the car and non of them knew how to drive while KRILLIN, who we have seen driving a car in the beginning of DBZ, was sitting in the back; I guess he just didn't want to drive with ChiChi

What's the purpose of the guardian of the Earth again? Except the making the dragon balls neither Kami nor Dende ever really did anything

ok, so i just finished the last book from HoO and i need to say that, even though i LOVED this saga, i am kinda disappointed with the ending... and here is why:

(tbh, i don't know if these are controversial or general agreement topics, but pls be nice!)

i felt like a lot of things were missing, like, for example, WHY the hell didn't have a scene with Percy and his mother??? not even a LETTER?? 😭 my boy went missing for so long, his mum must be dying from worries and we don't even get a chapter with them both talking?? after everything Sally has done on the first saga?

another character that i felt was forgotten is Grover. tbf, i didn't expect like a whole scene with a long dialogue with him, but, how much it would cost just to say that, for example, Nico saw him, Percy and Annabeth talking together? the og trio. he deserved so much better 💔

ok, so we miss all these, but what do we get?? JASON AND PIPER KISSING! like, i understand the importance of the scene (a new begining and shit) but is not like we haven't seen it happening before, they say it was their first kiss but that part didn't had any impact on me like???? and they're just a OK couple, doesn't even gets close to that Percabeth kiss scene in the end of the last PJO book. so, yeah, was this REALLY necessary??

Leo's "death" was a really weak angst. don't get me wrong, leo is one of my favourite characters of all time, and i know some of the readers got really sad, but i didn't, because i knew he wouldn't die (ok, this was my fault maybe, but i saw that he was the one who narrates the last chapter) and we kinda of knew his plan, i knew he had the cure with him yk?

and, complementing topic 4, the last chapter being about him and Calipso was just 😐😐 like, everyone thinks he is dead, but we know he is not, so it doesn't have this weight anymore, and, then, he goes to Calipso... i know he is obsessed with her, and talk about her throughout all the book, but, why this was the last chapter??? A WHOLE SAGA SAYING ABOUT MONSTERS AND GAIA AND IT JUST END WITH TWO "TEENS" TALKING ABOUT OH YEAH WE DONT KNOW WHERE WE ARE GOING BY THE WAY

And, in the topic of monster and battle, the Gaia battle was SO DAMN BORING!!! Ok, so Rick passed 5 whole books saying to readers "hey, pay attention! they can't let Gaia wake up or else will be THE END OF THE WORLD" and we are like "ok lol" and then she wakes up and i was like "OH SHIT WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY GOING TO DO?? IS THE END!!! NOOOO!!!" ... she appears... they drag her to the sky... one explosion (and an unnecessary Octavian death) and BOOM! its over. "simple" like that. AND without any relevant deaths.

i am just angry because the end of PJO was wonderful. they had to do hard sacrifices, (Charlie), it had betrayal plot (Silena) and redemption (Silena and Luke). they had to use ALL the forces they could think of and still was a difficult battle. and the main villain was a TITAN!!!!! Gaia was supposed to be SO MUCH DIFFICULT, and yet, it was not. the giants were harder to fight.

and talking about fight. the way that the amazons and the hunters didn't appear back was so 😐😐 too. like, it seemed they were forgotten like Grover and Sally. not even a change of letters? just to guarantee they were ok...

my verdict: pjo CRUSHES hoo

anyway, i know that there's "more" but i also know that The Seven™ will not be all together again, so its just kinda of disappointment to know that was the end... feel free to also give your opinion (but try to avoid future spoilers please!)

Oughh i love vampires so much, and the concept of humans being sires is really cool!! Actually, recently, i remembered i had a library app and started reading a long ass book about vampires! :3

A rouge fledgling vamp would more likely kill the human they imprinted on for food than actually be so enamored by them. The survival instinct just kicks in more. It's just Sapnap and George have the added benefit of most of their childhoods being old ladies always yelling at them about different vampire legends and warnings pfft So they like....know what to do....kinda..... Humans only know so much tbf

And all they know is Dream needs blood. And thats all they think he needs. What's really happening is that they're feeding Dream animal blood which is....not the best source of nutrients for a fledgling nor is it enough to be fully satiated...but it is enough for that survival instinct to calm down and for the inner fledgling to pop in and beg for affection and love and protection! It's just a baby you gotta take care of it!!

And they lack that kind of....communication really! Dream is lacking the mental connection a typical fledgling will have with their Sire and coven. The inner fledgling is constantly trying to reach out to George and Sapnap and because there is no mental reciprocation, it leads to Dream being even more desperate for their attention. But they still leave him in this lonely cave to sleep all alone :( He must not be a good fledgling for them....the few times he tried to follow them made them super mad and made his inner cry out more, making Dream literally cry. Sapnap and George thinks just the fact of being undead, the idea of being technically dead, is making Dream much more emotional...not that this is necessarily a vampire thing.

Dream just can't properly communicate that he Needs them to stay with him. He can say outloud all he wants that he doesn't want them to leave, stay for a little longer please, it's lonely here :((( But snf not really quite grasping how Serious this all is for Dream.

Like it probably does suck to be alone in this forest while your 2 closest people are off doing things you can't participate in anymore :/ like he can't even eat his favorite foods anymore!! They themselves probably wouldn't want to be alone and bored in this dumb forest but that's just a small sacrifice for now! Not really knowing...the mental anguish and despair Dream is going through everytime they leave :(

And they've tried taking turns but it never really quite worked out for a various number of reasons. Such as it taking two of them to actually hunt and also steal various things from town and bring stuff over. But the initial...fear...of just one of them with a vampire was not great...Even if it is just Dream...Though. I think once that's worn off, there is a sort of....pleasure?...that the two of them experience when they get back and Dream is running up to them and hugging them as tight as he can and being generally weepy about them returning every single time. A sort of gratification that Dream needs them so much now and they're so good at taking care of him that he's reduced to this kind of vulnerability. Dream /needs/ them to survive and they /love/ being able to provide for him. They love they have their chance to take care of Dream now.

It probably has something to do with underlying guilt of causing Dream's death tbh...If Dream wasn't trying so hard to take care of them he wouldn't have died. So they want to make up for it as much as possible! Trying....a little too hard tbh....hmmm.

And that's the other thing about human sires. How does a fledgling affect the humans themselves!

While there is no clear mental connection between them, there is a sort of.....amplification of feelings that a fledgling gives off. It's just a survival mechanism tbf, a way to make sure they're not abandoned by their Sires. Super effective on vampires(most of the time)! Not very....effective on humans...but still working!

And it works in odd ways, at least for George and Sapnap. They're a unique case and not human researchers nor bitten vampires themselves would be able to really understand how Sapnap and George are being affected. Just that they are.

They care for Dream unconditionally of course but now theyre under the added influence of... fledgling should just be taken care of and that's all a fledgling can/should do.

This insatiable need to care for Dream always lingering in them but not to the point of not being able to pull away from him. They need to leave to take care of him, of course! Not that they like the obvious evidence of Dream being desperate for their care pfft no never! That just means they're doing a good job! (Not really lmao)

Until...Dream becomes a little more clear headed...and starts doing things on his own again...Fighting back against them more and insisting to allow him to help too...hrmmm...

His inner fledgling begging to just stay in the cave(nest) and be good and wait for Sires...but Dream knows he can help out...and his inner likes the idea of making his Sires happy so....Dream tries....and then snf /aren't/ happy. And his inner is crying and crying and Dream wishes the weird guilt and sad feelings and tears would stop!! He knows he's right on this!!!

And it's a huge conflict in Dream really. He does recognize to a degree that his autonomy is being stripped from him but.....he isn't /too/ bothered by it really....he's more acting cause he cares about George and Sapnap. His rational brain constantly worried about them getting hurt because of him...dying because of him...

It's a real conundrum when Dream is able to fight against his inner fledgling more(due to the lack of an actual vampire sire) but snf can't shake off the feelings of "Dream needs us and should be dependent on us". Quite a pickle!

There's a few conflicts that are bouncing in my head, just putting them in Situations lmao

Like George and Sapnap facing the reality of.. are they really choosing some vampire over their own fellow human(yes of course duh, Dream isn't just some vampire pfft) and sacrificing a bit of their humanity(i.e. murder) to protect Dream (much to Dream's horror and his inner fledgling's delight)

Or Dream facing off another rogue vampire born from the same town and now Dream facing the reality of him being a Monster...perhaps it was one of the brat rich kids that always messed with them and treated them poorly. The curse isn't picky with who the troublemaker is apparently, no excuses! Though....that does lead to a lot of the townsfolk becoming suspicious of Sapnap and George...(The townsfolk could never believe this good and well behaved kid turned on his own, he must've been bitten! And they never got to cremate Dream's body as a precaution...hmmm)

There's also the idea of a bitten vampire coming across Dream while snf are out. Seeing a vulnerable fledgling ripe for the taking. It can't be a rogue because Dream is so well put together, obviously still having his mind in tact! Poor baby trying to survive in this shit cave... And struggling against them! Must have been freshly abandoned and still bonded with his Sire...well, nothing a little of their own blood can't override :)!
