Hi! I mentioned (or maybe thought I mentioned 😳) that I had some snippets written for ltlyc that I'd be posting here! Here's one of them. It's pretty rough but I didn't want it to waste away in the twenty page cutting floor Google doc so here you go. Hope you enjoy!
This is set just minutes after the end of ltlyc so if you haven't finished yet watch out for spoilers!
The screams of humans and curses alike cut off abruptly as Hollow Purple rips through the station, sound waves shredded in the air in the wake of the utter annihilation Gojo unleashes upon the Patchface curse. Mt. Fuji-Head meets the same fate before he can fully realize what’s happened, before he can even begin to comprehend the weight of Gojo’s unleashed wrath.
Gojo senses movement behind him. He whips around with raised fingers to finally face what he hadn’t allowed himself to think about, hadn’t let himself see while Yuuji was being taken from him, crying for him, confessing his love to him.
He’s looking now, the full force of his Six Eyes turned upon cursed energy Gojo knows better than his own, a body Gojo knows every piece and part of.
It’s Suguru’s energy. Suguru’s body. Gojo’s Six Eyes are never wrong and they cannot lie to him.
His soul screams otherwise.
This is not Geto Suguru.
That is not Suguru’s smile, these are not Suguru’s actions. Those are not Suguru’s hands, plucking what Gojo now recognizes as the Prison Realm out of its pool of ichor and carelessly wiping it with a hanging sleeve.
The being wearing Suguru’s face tsks at him, mocks him, in Suguru’s voice, Prison Realm held up in front of itself like a shield as it backs into the service tunnel behind it. Gojo cannot attack it, cannot unleash his own power without risking destroying the cube and Yuuji, more precious than all of the world, contained within.
Gojo drops to his knees, blood splashing up around him, once the body of his best friend is gone, such agony in his chest that he claws at it, wants to break past the shell of his ribs to dig his fingers into the soft, red tissue beneath and tear the hurt out with his bare hands. He’s desperate; he wants to offer his heart up, raw and weeping, to any deity that will bring Yuuji back to him.
His phone dings, a soft chime, jarringly gentle in the screaming silence of Yuuji’s absence. The veil closing off the station must have fallen, restoring its service. Hours late, his screen lights up with a message:
‘scary movie 2nite? got u a surprise! c u soon’
Yuuji’s face beams out at him beneath the words, eyes shining in the way meant only for Gojo.
The sight of that smile tears through him, violent, and in its wake leaves clarity, sharp and cruel as a blade thrust.
There is no higher power in heaven or earth than Gojo Satoru himself.
He will be the one to pass down judgment, on every single curse and every single human that has conspired to take Yuuji from him.
Any kindness or mercy that may have existed in him is now locked away, caged alongside his heart in the Prison Realm.
This time, Gojo will be the one to reach out, hands and teeth bared, and take Yuuji back. No matter the cost. There is no god strong enough to save any who stand in his way.

DP x Forever (2014)
7. GIW experimentation
Danny who has escaped from the hands of GIW is mistaken for a body due to his lack of vital signs.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Quick summary for anyone unfamiliar with the show Forever (which I assume is most people seeing this): Henry Morgan is over 200 year old immortal who currently works as a medical examiner in New York City. The other person featured in this comic is his assistant Lucas (who I adore).
The show is in a lot of ways episodic crime drama, but the main character is immortal dealing with the mortality of everyone around him. Henry is also discovering that he might not be quite as alone with his predicament as he originally thought... but for the first time he is starting to wish he was.

nvm this is still on my brain. kim does not like to watch harry suffer… to say that kim takes satisfaction in harry’s pain is a huge misconstruing of his character.
the “getting thrashed like a schoolboy” line comes from a board game, lol. it’s a tease, not a cruelty. there’s never any line that implies that Kim enjoys seeing Harry taking actual morale damage.
he can be amused if you fail a check, but the check is always relatively inconsequential, and again, Harry isn’t taking damage in these.
Failing to pry the trash bin open:
Tumblr media
Failing to shatter Ruby’s lorry window:
Tumblr media
(also in both of these examples he only responds smugly if you choose for Harry to stubbornly dig in his heels. if Harry gets huffy, Kim teases. If Harry backs down right away Kim won’t rub it in, which feels significant to me! it reminds me of that recent post goin around about Kim meeting your energy!)
and here’s some reactions to failed checks where he does take damage.
Failing the jump to get your cloak:
Tumblr media
Failing to break down Plaisance’s door:
Tumblr media
he’s not laughing if Harry’s taking damage because he’s not a dick lol.
aaaaand here’s some other instances of morale/health damage and kim’s reactions.
alternate dialogue for failing the harbor jump:
Tumblr media
after the call with precinct 41:
Tumblr media
seeing bullet holes in the wall:
Tumblr media
most significant examples to argue this point for me come when harry has done something to jeopardize the RCM’s image. which kim goes on and on about the importance of maintaining— and yet even here, he still extends worry and assurance.
telling Billie about her husband and handling it badly:
Tumblr media
hardie authority check failure cock carousel:
Tumblr media
aaaaand the car. this line is one of the most mask-off kim moments we get in the game in my opinion, honestly.
Tumblr media
tying this back to the schoolboy line— that line doesn’t show up if you have a negative reputation with Kim. if you have <1 rep, it gets replaced with him calling it “about four hours of our lives that we'll never get back,” lol.
it’s affectionate ribbing!! twisting it into anything else is bizarre 2 me lmao!
anyways. kim is a foil to every other cop we meet in the game specifically because he doesn’t view harry as a punching bag or a lost cause. gottlieb does nothing but sling jabs and glib jokes about harry’s health. torson+mclaine and the others laugh at harry’s panic attack over the radio. in response to harry’s suicide-by-car attempt(!!!!) jean yells about RCM budget. all kim’s lines in response to harry’s check failures and health-damage are consistent, explicit textual contrast against the callousness of the rest of the RCM. twisting kim’s character here requires a bad faith interpretation of the whole game.

Does Hell and Heaven exist in your pmatga aus? If so, does the Netherworld count as it's own version of Hell or is it a separate thing?
If they're all separate things in your aus I'd be hocked! I'd love to see your interpretations of them!
I was writing a whole-ass essay to this question when I realised that I was drawing it out unnecessarily 😅 SO I've decided to rather move the bulk of what I wanted to write into a separate post that focuses on my headcanons for the Netherworld and its reason for being.
So, short answer:
Heaven and hell do exist in most of my PMATGA written work, but they are separate from the Netherworld, in which the Nether acts as a border between eternal life and eternal death. The Nether is where ghosts go when they are not at peace and remain in limbo (or have unfinished business, so to say.)
This is not comparable to the concept of purgatory though, nor could the Nether be considered an equivalent of hell, even though it may have similarities. The Netherworld doesn't qualify for the rules and definitions of purgatory, nor does it portray the same amount of suffering that you would find in hell. But I'll elaborate more in that future post about headcanons for the Netherworld.
On the other hand, I also feel a bit inclined to headcanon that the Netherworld is not the type of 'afterlife' that we think of when we think of heaven and hell - rather, I wonder if the Nether is just a different dimension entirely, and the only way to access it is either through portals or through an abnormal separation of one's body and soul (like bodystripping) in which a person's soul is trapped in a different dimension (Netherworld) while it's body remains unconscious in the former dimension (Pacworld).
So, to sum it up, I hc that Pacworlders do believe in a heaven and a hell, but the Netherworld is a separate realm that comes prior to any sort of final/eternal afterlife.

I heard that Edward IV and Elizabeth Widvile were known to be very beautiful. Were there any reports on their appearance at the time?
anon 😂
But yes, contemporaries and post contemporaries in the 16th century were pretty much unanimous in praising their appearance. I'll list some of the ones I could find:
Elizabeth:
'The most beautiful woman in England' ('la plus belle fille d'Engleterre') - Jean de Waurin
'Her very great beauty' ('sa tres grande beaute') - Jean de Waurin
"Her beauty of person and charm of manner" - Dominic Mancini
"None of such constant womanhood, wisdom and beauty" - Hearne's Fragment; its author was one of Edward IV's servants
"A daughter of prodigious beauty' - 1469 Continuator of Monstrelet's Chronicle
"Both faire, of a good favor, moderate of stature, well made and very wise" - Thomas More
Edward IV:
"The beauty of your personage it hath pleased Almighty God to send you" - James Strangways, Speaker of the Commons in Parliament
"The king is a handsome upstanding man" - Gabriel Tretzel, travels of Leo of Rozmital
"A handsome prince and had style" - Oliver De La Marche
"In the flower of his age, tall of stature, elegant of person" - Croyland Chronicle
"One of the handsomest knights of his kingdom" - 1469 Continuator of Monstrelet's Chronicle
"A handsome and worthy prince" - Pietro Alipranto
‘...Tall and strapping as the king’ - John Paston, Paston Letters
"He was young and more handsome than any man then alive" - Philippe de Commynes
"A man so vigorous and handsome that he might have been made for the pleasures of the flesh" - Philippe de Commynes
"The handsomest prince my eyes ever beheld" and "I don't remember ever having seen a man more handsome than he was" - Philippe de Commynes
"A very handsome prince" - Louis XI, from the Memoirs of Commynes
"He being a person of most elegant appearance, and remarkable beyond all others for the attractions of his person" - the Croyland Chronicle, referencing Edward a few months before he died
"He seized any opportunity that the occasion offered of revealing his fine stature more protractedly and more evidently to onlookers" - Dominic Mancini, writing shortly after his death
"He was a goodly personage and very princely to behold...of visage lovely, of body mighty, strong and cleanly made; howbeit in his latter days, with an over liberal diet, somewhat corpulent, but nevertheless noy uncomely" - Thomas More
Etc.
I'm tagging @edwardslovelyelizabeth because I think you got a similar ask?
I hope this answers your question, anon! I don't generally pay a lot of attention to the physical appearance of historical figures (I find it pretty irrelevant), but in this case, it ultimately does play a role in both Edward IV and Elizabeth's historiographies for better and for worse, and seems to have actually been a personal prop of Edward's kingship, so I don't mind discussing it :)
#either anon is making rounds or someone else saw the ask and asked me something similar 🤷🏻‍♀️#edward iv#elizabeth woodville#ask#also (I wanted to make a separate post about this but fuck it I'll just rant in the tags):#Something I find very interesting (read: fucked-up) is how we have multiple independent accounts praising Edward IV as extremely#attractive at the end of his life#Yet for some reason (aka fatphobia) most historians simply assume that he lost his looks over the years because he put on weight#even though his actual contemporaries (sans Commynes who in any case didn't even see him after 1475) certainly didn't seem to think so#as we can see: Croyland Mancini and More all noted the fact that he had put on weight AND emphasized his attractiveness#because the two are not mutually exclusive in the slightest and assuming that they are is not only incorrect it's also deeply problematic#it's similar to how so many historians assume his health was failing towards the end of his life when we KNOW - we are literally TOLD -#that his illness was both unexpected and baffling to contemporaries#(there is a contemporary reference to his supposedly deteriorating health but as Horrox says this is actually an editorial interpolation)#and the thing that's *always* referenced almost synonymously with this alleged non-existent ill-health is his weight#and the thing is - even if both of these were true they still ultimately wouldn't (and SHOULDN'T) matter. But we KNOW they weren't#and so it's incredibly indicative that historians and general histories STILL automatically assume them - and this assumption#is almost always on conjecture with his weight. (I don't think I've framed this coherently but oh well)#I'm still not over Katherine Lewis's deranged and frankly extremely ignorant epilogue in 'Kingship and Masculinity'#she literally framed her entire perspective on him around his weight with some really ridiculous (read: fatphobic) speculations/assumptions#she's even worse than Thomas Penn who is also revolting (and AJ Pollard isn't much better)#though of course they're not the only ones - almost every historian and general history does this

Prayer to Djehuty for Artistic Inspiration
Hail and praise onto you, Djehuty, True Scribe of Ma'at!
Oh, Thrice Great of Heka Power, Wise One in Iunu, the Mousa has fled, she prowls a distant land in the form of a lioness!
Bring her back to me, place her on my brow, for I am her father, Ra Horakhety, and I am in need of her.
Render this service to me and I shall make offerings to you on the festivals of the month, the sixth day, the half-month, and all the other festivals appropriate to you, Oh Reckoner of Months, of Days, of Hours.
Bring her to me and you shall receive a thousand loaves of bread, a thousand jugs of beer, a thousand cuts of beef and fowl, and all other things good and pure on which a god lives.

Ok so like I get it, I understand the abstracted symbolism referencing an arc we'll probably have a different op for by the time we reach it, but I really think a lot of y'all are way overestimating what an anime-only viewer could gather from that animation.
Like with zero manga information there's what. A very clearly figurative sequence of dancing floating and getting tossed around in giant foods? And in the end illustrations too. Parties we haven't seen yet? Those were there in the first op. Thistle and the legs of Big Chicken? Lots of monsters are chicken. Relax.

Linking durge appearing to not feel/be aware of pain while with Kressa and certain chatter lines to durge's brain injury is common, but I also think maybe Bhaal gifted durge with either a super high pain tolerance or the inability to feel pain in most of their body when creating them.
If I was a murder god creating what I hoped to be murder incarnate, I'd want them to have minimal distractions in cases where a victim fights back. Pain is a warning that keeps you from further injury and the ability to continue their work on two broken legs with their guts hanging out would be beneficial when the aim is quantity of victims

i think this is one of the nicest asks i've ever gotten thank you so so much (I'M RAMBLING IN THE TAGS SO MUCH BTW. if you want insight into the thought process or anything)
#honestly it was really fun to make !!#i like thinking about posts people would make#i definitely could've put more steel samurai posts in but i forgor.#perhaps if i ever make a second !!#it would also have to include at least one 'happy almost christmas to those who celebrate' 'who is putting this on my dash it is JUNE'#i feel like almost christmas would become a meme on lawblr#the only things stopping me from making another are a not enough post ideas#and b i don't want to be the unnecessary sequels guy#i think my biggest struggle was with usernames lol#since they would have had to be related to law in general or the trials specifically#or in other cases regular generic usernames. or the two gavinners fans#making up a username for a fandom is a lot harder when you can't acknowledge that it's a piece of media /lh#like nobody would be able to have an url referencing unnecessary feelings because nobody on lawblr would know that was said#forever going to be thinking about courtofwaw#a large chunk of usernames on it are from my ocs tbh. i have usernames picked out for them#one of them is just one of my friends' blogs shoutout to rubie for volunteering to be perjury girl#i think one was one of my old usernames#it was that and it was finding the emojis#favorites are definitely courtofwaw and just--ice#i can't explain why waw is so funny sorry#THIS GOT REALLY LONG#basically oh my god thank you so so much you mean the world to me /p#save#<- i am saving this post because it will singlehandedly fix me i think if i ever get sad#most of this kind of just started as 'i bet in the aa universe there's wild discourse about this'#also if i do make a second post. i'm stealing my 'you guys couldn't even handle manfred von karma' post#SOMEONE would make it. idk who but i know someone would make that post unironically.#also one final note !!#none of the characters in the post were MEANT to be canon aa characters#however if anyone SEEMS like they would be i would LOVE to hear it tbh

(spoilers of u haven't done the newest quest line)
(also sorry I haven't sent an ask in so long, I haven't played nms for a bit lol)
I'm really loving all the lore we got! those big Atlantis probe things from the expedition still show up in space, one pretty much outright stated that the probes are actually ancient escape pods from the destruction of korvax prime. And the korvax were in there for so long atlantideum began to grow out of their bodies, creating a structure similar to the ones you mine sentience echoes from!
Also unrelated theory, but I think if the first spawn won they might've destroyed the universe accidentally. They think the universe is not a simulation and is knowable. This combined with their greed and probable lack of environmental concern, means they probably would grab any gravitino balls they can, and with no sentinels around to drive them off and mend the wound in spacetime, the damage would pile up and the simulation would break.
HIII took me long enough to answer your ask, I apologize. I’m free now so let’s get to it!
It’s going to take a while for me to do the autophage quest myself since i actually haven’t finished the artemis path yet (but at this point i do know already it inside out). However i did watch playthroughs and i also made a decent transcript of the quest. And YOU BET i have some thoughts about this. Especially on atlantideum.
i. ATLANTIDEUM
Tumblr media
(from world of glass lore archive server)
When you reveal atlantideum to the atlas something very interesting happens. From this piece of lore i’m pretty sure atlantideum is corrupted data- OF THE ABYSS. And the atlas does not react well to this data at all.
ATLANTIDeum. Are you seeing this. It’s literally like parts of the abyss. Call it abyss dust.
I think atlantideum are crystals which contain her (corrupted) data, or in any case you bet it’s related to wog. They’re probably coming straight from the world of glass, seeping into the simulations. These crystals are scattered all over the place, and lore-wise they’re probably multiplying on a pretty concerning rate at the moment. I think this is how the abyss is returning, by hauling her data back into the world. The world of glass is assimilating with the simulations if you will! She’s only able to do this because the atlas is literally falling apart as she proceeds with her girlboss plan. The atlas is weakening while she is growing stronger (she’s probably weakening the atlas too in the proces). They’re probably fighting for control over the systems, and she is definitely going for absolute power. You’re gonna need that if you want to save everything dying along with the computer that runs reality.
The atlas can’t do anything about the crystals (or data), because it does not have access to this data and cannot delete it from its systems. The abyss seems to be an entity acting separately from the system or the atlas, so you can say she is interfering with the simulations like a foreign entity. She is a subroutine of the atlas though, which has now gone rogue (see iii. FIRST SPAWN ACCIDENTAL UNIVERSE DESTRUCTION).
Tumblr media
Thorn summed this up ON POINT. Being atlas… is suffering.
While the atlantideum hit made the atlas have an asthmatic attack, someone else smoked it up like nipnip. Nada took the abyss blunt very well.
Tumblr media
The atlantideum gave nada data of the abyss, to me this is like injecting memories into your mind. Now we know that nada canonically likes smoking atlantideum! While the atlas is pro war on drugs. The traveller can become nada’s abyss blunt dealer.
ii. KORVAX ESCAPE POD
“And the korvax were in there for so long atlantideum began to grow out of their bodies, creating a structure similar to the ones you mine sentience echoes from!”
Sadly i don’t have that particular dialogue you mentioned about the korvax escape pod so i might miss a few details. I want to read it so if anyone finds it SEND IT TO ME STAT i need my lore like how nada needs their blunt.
The atlantideum item description reads:
Tumblr media
Atlantideum can take over hosts, both mechanical and biological. I see this as the hosts coming under influence or under control of the abyss, probably depending on the amount of crystals they have stuck in their skin.
Finally we have a bit of clarification for the following lines:
Tumblr media
(from the abandoned building logs)
I believe these beings to be the family glass. Sadly they never went beyond name dropping them but that doesn’t stop me from having theories. They are beings that live on in the world of glass who have probably lived in the simulations at first (before they died).
We have know seen the effects of glass/atlantideum on both mechanical and biological beings. For mechanical beings (like nada and the atlas) simply coming into close contact with the crystals is already enough to have an effect, while for biological beings they have to literally shove the shards into their flesh. Just like piercings. Except these piercings drain your life and also may or may not keep hurting forever. However in the end it’s all worth it for the eldritch knowledge.
It’s not said whether these crystals are really atlantideum (crystals containing data of the abyss specifically?), but this is probably what happens when you put it under your skin while also being biological. you get a cool piercing, AND you also become a vessel for intelligences unlike us (void milves).
The abyss can exert influence/control through not only nanites (in the water), but through atlantideum too? Well it is a literal substance named after her. The korvax in the escape pod definitely came under her influence too and became divergent by extension. She is pretty much the divergence personified. As for how the atlantideum got there, i’m thinking the abyss messed a little with the nanites in their body? I mean she is a master nanite bender, arguably the best one the simulations have ever seen. Not everyone can infest half the water in the known multiverse with nanites every day like she does casually.
The abyss does a lot of polluting, in water it’s nanites, on land it’s atlantideum crystals. She really just decided that environmental pollution is the best way to spread her presence everywhere. And you cannot deny that she is completely right since it’s working that well. This is like spreading microplastics which have the power to change reality itself.
In game you can refine atlantideum into nanites, by first refining it into pugneum and then to nanites. So nanites and atlantideum are pretty closely related.
iii. FIRST SPAWN ACCIDENTAL UNIVERSE DESTRUCTION
“Also unrelated theory, but I think if the first spawn won they might've destroyed the universe accidentally. They think the universe is not a simulation and is knowable. This combined with their greed and probable lack of environmental concern, means they probably would grab any gravitino balls they can, and with no sentinels around to drive them off and mend the wound in spacetime, the damage would pile up and the simulation would break.”
Oh man i have something for you.
Tumblr media
(boundary failure logs)
The first spawn exploited a whole subroutine (ie the convergence) for their personal interests- on a multiversal scale. Since a subroutine is like a working part of the atlas itself, the exploitation might’ve done some damage to the system in terms of software (?) i mean can you still carry out whatever tasks you should be doing properly if you were subjected to gruesome slavery across the multiverse. you’d need godly multitasking skills for this. Not sure to what extent it really affected the system, but it would have done at least something.
Telamon did say that the entire enslavement of the korvax is a reflection of the atlas breaking down. The convergence, being modeled after earlier forms of the atlas, is kind of the atlas personified in the simulations. Now when you’re enslaved, you do break down mentally and physically. The korvax suffered because the atlas itself was suffering. And the first spawn might’ve been a reflection of the harm the atlas was facing. In the end the first spawn was genetically engineered into the gek, not completely wiped out but “mitigated” using their nanites. this could apply to the harm too, it’ll never be removed, only lessened. I find it very interesting how the korvax polluting the gek spawning pools with nanites is very much parallel with the abyss infesting the water with nanites as well. Both do this to get out of hard times, by trying to lessen the harm but never able to remove it completely. This does seems to be what the atlas is doing to try saving itself. The repeated universe resets are also a reflection in the simulations except it is more meta.
Now onto the balls!
Tumblr media
If the first spawn did start grabbing gravitino balls left and right without a single care unchecked, then that means the atlas is. royally fucked. I’d say then it’s literally not able to keep running simulations anymore. Like they would end prematurely because it’d crash halfway through, as reflected by the reality weakening from unrestrained gravitino ball harvesting once they get to that part in history. whatever horrors the atlas is facing at the moment isn’t enough for this to happen. Recovering from brutal enslavement does sound better than the whole simulation straight up crashing down. You could always have it worse! Sparkle on!
#i have not been engaging with nms for a while and now once the fall break had just hit. the steam engine has started running hot again#while writing this i swear i just came up with two other theories barely related to the subject#1. every time you go through portals you die temporarily as you pass through wog. because when you're in wog that means you're dead!#it's the literal hell and heaven of nms#artemis however died permanently since they did not get out at the other side. their pathway collapsed and left them stranded.#2. in wog you can live on in death. i think this is the goal of the abyss by trying to bring wog into the simulations#or the other way around#(IF THAT'S WHAT'S ACTUALLY GOING ONNNNN. i believe in it though :33333)#also wog stands for world of glass just in case#like there's this line that says we will not die a second time which is probably referencing atlas' death that spells doom for everyone#well guess what#when you are in wog you are dead. and you cannot die again. not for a second time#for the longest time this line was completely beyond me man i think i have figured this out#it is pretty poetic. you can live on in death#a very hard pill for null to swallow. being able to accept this would've made a big difference in their life#also the atlas canonically has a sister now. telamon too#one enforced obligatory multiversal babysitting million on another#now the sister wishes to take over all of you and your simulations#by taking advantage of you literally dying#you cannot stop her and it might actually be the better choice to surrender#and she is your LITTLE sister. SHE IS AN EARLIER VERSION OF YOURSELF.#this is like being bested by your 9 year old self#siblinghood is so beautiful#no man's sky#nms lore#nms atlas#nms abyss#asks

Sorry about the late reply haha, but I'm absolutely thrilled to hear you enjoyed reading my last ask!
About RGGJo (I've been been calling him a variant of that for ages too, but if I ever slip up and call him Jou, it's out of habit; I like to differentiate them by RGGO and 7's different official romanizations lol), I'd actually say it's not at all hyperbolic to describe him as relaxed. If you ever have a moment, I think going through his voice lines is one of the best ways to get acquainted with his character in a short time! (Article might be a little rough, I basically speedran it all in a day just to show you lol; also a lot of them are uh........ let's say borderline flirtatious)
That said, it is much less apparent before the timeskip. To go on a bit (or a lot) of a tangent, I think that kind of relates to something I've noticed about their relationship with authority. Which is to say, it feels like they have a tendency to walk on eggshells with regard to authority figures. I think that might be the single most consistent thing between their characterizations.
You do see that directly with Arakawa, of course. It's something established really early on for both of them. You can tell right away from Jo's sheepish look when Arakawa walks in on the yubitsume fiasco or RGGJo freezing up when Arakawa walks in on the equivalent scene that he's someone they genuinely seek approval from as an authority figure. And, y'know, 7 has that micro-interaction with Arakawa only needing to put a hand on Jo's shoulder to stop him, whereas RGGO has Mitsu directly stating that the only person who's able to calm him down when he's on a rampage is Arakawa. Honorable mention to the substory where Ichi stops RGGJo from killing some guy by saying it'd put Arakawa in a bad mood.
But I think the clearest example sort-of-outside of Arakawa, one that's more insightful with regard to authority in general (since you could say of course he respects Arakawa specifically), is actually from Ryuji's RGGO story. There was a fair amount of confusion, right, because it's canon to the console timeline, but they hadn't implemented the Arakawa Family's 7 sprites, and they used the RGGO ones. So the funny thing is, I could tell right away that everyone was supposed to be their 7 selves based on characterization
Tumblr media
I did take the time to look over all of RGGJo's voice lines from the link you provided oh my god you weren't kidding about making quick edits i checked the log date and you were making changes just a few hours ago, bless you and your work fr and yeah no, his voice lines definitely give off a different feel from Y7Jo (and definitely no joke about the more 'flirtatious' lines- evidently as someone who's mostly perceived Y7Jo it's jarring to say the least. Not that I'm complaining, it's incredibly interesting to see the difference)! It's almost funny to me how different their personalities seem, I wonder what made RGG decide to conceal his more 'playful' personality..
In regards to his relationship with authority- or I guess I want to talk more specifically about with Arakawa- the backstory each Jo has offers different avenues for explanation as to why he's so readily obedient.
I have to make a disclaimer right now and say I'm not totally caught up on Ichi's RGGO story (I stopped just after their fight on the rooftop), so maybe more background to Jo is given. Nevertheless, for RGGJo, his reasons for being obedient aren't exactly clear aside from respecting Arakawa's influence/power (as noted by his irezumi, I'm pretty sure). On that note though, I haven't seen the bit from Ryuji's story- something I'm definitely going to look into once I get some time this week (and it's neat that the Jo's are distinct enough from each other that you can discern which iteration it's supposed to be despite the sprite used: I'm excited to see that for myself!).
Inversely, the context that Arakawa has been taking care of Jo's son offers a more concrete form of an explanation as to why he's compliant. It's not bad to assume I think that Jo genuinely respects Arakawa's authority, but it's that added context that adds an extra layer to his behavior.

Just started one piece (the anime not the live action) the other night and I am a big fan of how from like day one, every single fight zoro is in, or when anyone says pretty much anything to him at all, he gets super serious and then has a flashback which is basically just extreme foreground of a like 14yo girl's hand squeezing the hell out of one of her own titties and like 13 year old zoro in the background experiencing every single emotion known to man
