Toji who got really drunk after a misunderstanding you left him to ponder upon one morning when you left for work. You missed a part of your routinely goodbye to him and at first it didn't bother him. He understood that you were running late, but once he started chugging the cold drinks and he sat with the sentiment, he realized it did strike him.
He hated the entire process of getting drunk, hated that drinking was unbearable unless it was chased with sweet kisses from you, but there he was, downing bottle after bottle. He was starting to feel liquid full but even in this intoxicated state he didn't want to put down the bottles. At some point he starting feeling uncomfortable being by himself and didn't want to feel that way anymore, so he called and texted you. Multiple times. You finally picked up after the eighth call.
-Hi, baby! Sorry, I missed your calls. I just left work and i'm heading home.-
-Baby? Who are you calling baby?- He scoffs, a roll of his eyes following.
-You... Toji. It's you. Who else would I be calling baby?-
-Honestly, I...- He laughs, the sound not coming off as one of joy with the next words he speaks. -I didn't think you even loved me enough to give me stupid pet names. I feel very unloved by you and... mhm, just want you to know that.-
Now, that's just entirely untrue and it hurts to hear. You prove your love for him every day. What is this sudden false claim against you?
-Toji, love, what are you saying? I'm coming home, already. Maybe we should talk in person. This is hard to discuss over the phone.-
-Uh-huh, you do that.- He sighs, heavily, his eyes lidding with sluggishness. -Can't win a verbal argument, s-so you're gonna come over here and try to seduce me with your pretty face. I'm just gonna say no when you try to touch me. Just no.-
-I'll see you in a bit, Toji.- you say, before abruptly hanging up.
He sounded off. You knew something was up the second you saw his eight missed calls and a stack of messages just saying 'hey'.
Your keys jingled as you pulled them out of your bag to unlock the front door. The house was steady, no sign of Toji watching TV in the living room or of the shower running. You walked further in, calling his name. It was kind of eery walking through your silent house. You also knew of Toji's tendency of scaring you, so you were on guard for that as you paced around the house. You had one more room to check and it was the bedroom. You dragged your feet over to the room, knocking when you noticed the door was closed. There was no answer after two more knocks so you just opened the door.
The sound startled Toji who was lying against the headboard of the bed, almost falling asleep. The second he saw you his demeanor changed. He perked up like a dog when their owner comes home, before melting back to the stoic state he had been sitting in.
"Hey," you say, almost tentatively, as you walk towards your shared bed, sitting down on the edge. You're met with an acknowledging hum of a response. "What's wrong, baby?"
"There you go calling me baby again. Baby is for people who love each other, so stop it."
You look over the bed, spotting the evidence that led to the bite in his attitude towards you— those bottles that spill the remaining drops of their content and Toji's backwash onto the bed, making the sheets reek of alcohol.
"Well, I love you, so no, i'm not gonna stop calling you baby."
He crosses his arms over his chest, huffing like a child. "That so? It didn't seem that way this morning. I've never felt so forgotten about by you."
"I told you I was gonna be late for work, but you insisted on keeping me trapped beneath you. Bring that part to light, handsome." You can see the corners of his lips twitching. He's holding back the most wicked smirk at the short burst of memories from the morning. "Plus, I still gave you your goodbye kiss, so what are you on about?"
"You didn't say 'I love you'. That's part of goodbye with you, so you can't blame me for feeling this way." His eyes express something of hurt. Maybe it's enhanced by the drinks he had, but you can't leave him that way.
"You're loved, baby. Very much so. Me not saying it this one time doesn't diminish the actual feeling." He's been reduced to a cub over this, so as his lover, you step in to mend the feelings that were grazed.
"Can you..." he rasps, patting his thigh, signaling for you to sit. You drag yourself towards him, and plop yourself onto his lap. You can smell the alcohol on his breath as he rambles on about how you can't forget to say 'I love you' to him ever again, even if it's a blurted, rushed one that he doesn't get a chance to respond to as you rush out the door.
The look he reserves for you is entirely soft, his hands are hot against your clothed back as they feel the warm body he's missed for hours. "I still..." he pauses to sigh, tiredness imbued into the sound. "Still want you to call me baby," he starts again. "I was just bummed. Don't stop calling me baby. Don't ever do that." He's letting his hands roam all over you. Your back, your waist, your hips—everything.
"Are you gonna let me touch you or are you gonna say 'no'?" You grin, remembering his words, verbatim, just incase he tries to tell you he never said them.
"Why aren't you touching me? Why would I not want you to touch me?" He looks insulted by the question and you have half a mind to remind him of what he said to you on the phone, but the heat in his eyes dies out as quickly as it appeared. "Really need a hug, mama. Please, hug," he says, the last part muffled by your chest as he keeps his face buried into it.
You held him tight and murmured 'I love you' countless times, while he hummed in response and groaned quietly as you ran your fingers through his hair.

Okay don't mind me, I'm going to yell into ether for a moment. It's four in the morning and I can't sleep and the slow-burn anxiety attack that has been building up all day seems to be finally coming to a head, and I feel like I'm about to crawl out of my skin.
This past month has been challenging. I knew stuff was about to get stressful way ahead of time and tried to mentally prepare for it, but life still managed to kick me in the liver and now that july is over, I'm left absolutely exhausted and frazzled and physically sick. And so goshdarn overwhelmed. Feels like my brain reached it's maximum capacity weeks ago and can't absorb anything new anymore, I'm just trying to get through each day without actively making things worse and all new tasks and information are just sliding off and pooling at my feet.
Acutely speaking, I'm also having a tiny little crisis here in my hands right now. It's silly but I've somehow managed to misplace my antidepressants somewhere and I haven't seen them since Thursday last week. Perhaps at this point I should just go and get them refilled early like a sensible person but some dumb mental roadblock is holding me back, so I'm just sort of stuck in this no-meds limbo. I'm normally seeing two separate therapists on irregular basis and both of them are currently unavailable until further notice and my sentiments about that aren't too gleeful.
I miss drawing, it's such an important part of my life and identity, but I haven't been able to do any of it lately and I feel like I'm strugging to get back in the right headspace for it. Every time I try to set aside a little bit of time to doodle something, my anxiety spikes massively and I have to try to do something else to calm down and it kills me.
I'm already dreading the upcoming winter. Every year my mood worsens with seasonal depression and I know I only have a limited number of months before life switches to survival mode again, and I have no choice but to try to live with that looming in the horizon.

Hii douma! May I request Shoto just in love? Just him being in love for the very first time and the concept of love just so foreign to him? Have a great day/night!

MY HERO ACADEMIA MASTERLIST

The cold spring air of U.A. High School's training grounds swept across Shoto Todoroki's face, his distinctive heterochromatic eyes glancing stoically at the horizon. As he approached the courtyard, the brisk wind tousled his dual-toned hair, and for the first time, a peculiar sensation stirred within him. It was an emotion he hadn't experienced before, a feeling that seemed to thaw the icy demeanor that usually defined him, yet he couldn't put a finger on what was it.
As the son of Endeavor, emotions had never been a territory he explored willingly. However, this day would mark a shift, an unexpected twist in the stoic narrative of Todoroki's life.
Shoto was no stranger to intense emotions. Anger, resentment, and the relentless pursuit of self-discovery had been his companions for as long as he could remember. But this was different – a foreign concept that had invaded the carefully constructed fortress around his heart.
As he walked past the cherry blossom trees, their delicate petals swirling in the air, his gaze landed on a figure standing by the fountain.
It was you, a fellow classmate whose presence had recently begun to captivate him. You were a presence in his life that had begun to defy categorization. You were just a person — a puzzle piece that didn't quite fit the mold he'd grown accustomed to. He admired you from afar, appreciating your strength and determination in both academics and combat.
It began innocently, Shoto noticed. A shared glance across the classroom, a casual comment during training, and the casual camaraderie of shared laughter. But as days unfolded, the puzzle piece shifted, creating a mosaic he hadn't anticipated. He was no stranger to intensity; after all, his own quirk bore the duality of fire and ice. Yet, this newfound sentiment was a flame of a different kind, uncharted and unsettling.
"Hey," he called out, his voice surprisingly steady despite the internal turmoil.
You turned towards him, a quizzical smile gracing your lips. "Todoroki, hey. Is everything okay?"
Shoto hesitated, his usual calm exterior cracking just a bit. "I… I wanted to talk."
Curiosity sparked in your eyes as you nodded, inviting him to continue.
"I've been thinking," Shoto began, his usually concise words replaced by a rare vulnerability. "About feelings. Emotions. And there's something I can't quite comprehend."
You listened intently, sensing the gravity of Shoto's words. "What is it?"
"I've always been driven by my goals, my desire to surpass my limits, and the need to prove my father wrong," he continued, "but lately, I find myself caught in a different struggle. It's like a flame inside me, burning with an intensity I can't control."
You tilted your head, intrigued. "Oh?"
Shoto nodded, his gaze meeting yours with an intensity that surprised even himself. "It's a distraction, an enigma that I can't unravel. It's like standing at the edge of a precipice, uncertain of the fall," he admitted, a rare flicker of uncertainty crossing his features.
Your lips curled into a gentle smile. "Love, Todoroki. It sounds like you're in love."
Todoroki's brows furrowed, the word foreign on his tongue. Love. A concept he'd analyzed in textbooks but never expected to encounter firsthand.
You smiled gently, understanding the conflict within him. "Love is complex, Shoto. It's not something you can control or quantify. It's a force that binds us together, that makes us vulnerable and strong at the same time."
Shoto absorbed your words, his internal battle slowly subsiding. "I don't know how to navigate this unfamiliar territory."
You reached out, placing a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "It's okay not to have all the answers. Love is a journey, not a destination. Take your time, Todoroki."
"I think… I might be in love with you," he confessed, the admission hanging in the air like the delicate petals of cherry blossoms.
Your eyes widened, a subtle blush adorning your features. "Todoroki, that's…" you began, but he silenced you with a tender touch as he placed his hand to your rosy cheek.
"Let me finish," he whispered, his breath mingling with the soft evening breeze. "I might not fully understand it, but I know that being around you feels just right. I love spending my time with you, it doesn't matter if we just chat or study together."
A heartbeat passed between you, the air charged with unspoken emotions. And then, in a moment both tender and profound, Shoto leaned in, placing a gentle kiss to your cheek. It was a sweet, hesitant kiss, a step into the uncharted territory of love.
As he looked at you, the world around seemed to fade, leaving only the two of you in the quiet embrace newfound feelings. Shoto's stoic facade melted away, revealing a vulnerability.
A quiet moment passed before you chuckled, breaking the tension. "Well, that's unexpected. I never thought I'd be the one to thaw Todoroki's icy heart."
A small, hesitant smile tugged at Todoroki's lips. Embracing the vulnerability he rarely allowed himself to show, Shoto took a deep breath. "Would you mind if I… explore this feeling with you?"
"I'd like that, Shoto," you replied, reaching your hand out to intertwine your fingers with his.

You're like one of my FWVEEEE authors!! And I'm so excited to see ur RQ's are open, because I've wanted to rq this for a bit.
Maybe surprising the boys, after you've given birth, with the babies name being something meaningful to them? Or something they wanted but didn't say anything bc they would assume you didn't like it. My sister recently did that with her husband, and I just am obsessed w the idea. Like, maybe with Wyll naming your daughter Francesca, after his mother? And Ulder hearing that? UGH I'm very sentimental lately.
ahhhh thank you so much !!!!

Gale:
The quiet of the early morning hours in the tower felt almost sacred as you cradled your newborn in your arms. You had just returned to the tower after a long and exhausting labor, and Gale had been nothing short of a perfect partner, by your side for every moment, but you had made sure to keep one small, precious detail to yourself until now.
Your eyes drifted to where Gale sat near the hearth, engrossed in the flames that flickered softly in the fireplace. His expression was contemplative, lost in thoughts that you couldn’t quite read. He had been gentle and supportive throughout the entire pregnancy, but there was something he had held back—a hesitation you had sensed but never pushed him to express. You knew it had something to do with the baby's name. You suspected that he had a name in mind but hadn’t spoken it, perhaps because he thought you wouldn’t share the sentiment.
As you rocked your baby gently, you decided it was time to reveal the surprise you'd been holding onto for these precious first few hours. With a quiet sigh, you stood, cradling your newborn in your arms as you approached Gale. The soft glow of the fire illuminated his face, and he looked up as you neared, his expression instantly softening at the sight of you and the baby.
“She’s finally asleep?” Gale asked softly, his voice barely louder than a whisper, as though he didn’t want to break the serene quiet that enveloped the room.
You nodded, sitting down beside him, the weight of the baby still comfortably nestled in your arms. Gale leaned in, brushing a gentle kiss on your temple before glancing down at the tiny bundle. His eyes shimmered with pride and awe, as they always did whenever he looked at your child.
“There’s something I need to tell you,” you murmured, your voice tender as you watched Gale’s expression shift to one of mild curiosity.
“What is it, my love?” he asked, his brow furrowing slightly, concern flashing briefly across his face. “Is everything alright?”
You smiled at the worry in his voice and reached out to take his hand, intertwining your fingers with his. "Everything is perfect. I just wanted to tell you her name."
Gale blinked, his eyes widening slightly as he realized you hadn’t yet shared the baby’s name. He had been patient, never once pressing you on the subject, but you had seen the way his gaze had lingered on your daughter with a quiet longing.
“I know we talked about a few names,” you continued, your voice soft as you leaned in closer. "But there's one name I think is perfect. And I know it’s a name that means a lot to you."
Gale's breath caught in his throat, and for a moment, he looked almost vulnerable, as though he was afraid to hope for what he thought you might say.
His eyes searched yours, filled with unspoken emotion. "What… what name?"
You smiled gently, your heart swelling with love for both Gale and the tiny life you had created together.
"Her name is Morena," you whispered, the name falling from your lips like a promise. "Mora, for short."
For a brief moment, Gale just stared at you, his expression frozen in shock. The name—his mother’s name—hung in the air between you, filling the room with its quiet significance. You could see the emotions flickering in his eyes: disbelief, joy, and a deep, aching sense of gratitude.
"Morena," he repeated softly, almost as if testing the sound of it on his tongue. His voice cracked ever so slightly, and you saw the shimmer of unshed tears in his eyes. "You… you named her after my mother?"
You nodded, squeezing his hand gently. "I know you never asked. I could feel how much you wanted it, but you never said anything because you didn’t want to push me. But Gale… the name is beautiful. And I want our daughter to have something meaningful to you. Something that connects her to the part of you that’s shaped who you are."
Gale let out a shaky breath, his chest rising and falling as the weight of your words sank in. His free hand reached up to wipe at his eyes, and when he looked back at you, there was such overwhelming love and appreciation in his gaze that it nearly took your breath away.
“You…” Gale began, but his voice faltered. He swallowed hard and tried again. “You don’t know what this means to me. I… I never thought you’d want that. But… Morena, Mora.” His voice broke again, but this time with joy. “It’s perfect. She’s perfect.”
He reached out tentatively, his fingers brushing the soft blanket that swaddled the baby. Mora stirred slightly, her tiny face scrunching for a moment before relaxing again. Gale’s breath hitched as he looked down at her, his daughter, named after the woman who had given him life and shaped so much of the man he had become.
"I hope she’s as strong and as kind as your mother is," you said softly, watching as Gale gently stroked Mora's cheek with the back of his hand. "And I know that she’ll be loved just as fiercely."
Gale exhaled shakily, his eyes never leaving your daughter as he spoke.
"She will be," he whispered, his voice thick with emotion. "I’ll make sure of it. And you… you’ve given me more than I ever thought I deserved."
He leaned in, pressing a tender kiss to your lips, his touch full of reverence and gratitude. When he pulled away, his eyes were shining with unshed tears, but his smile was full of warmth and love.
"Thank you," Gale whispered, his voice barely audible as he looked at you, his heart clearly overwhelmed. "Thank you for giving her this name. For giving me this family."
You rested your head on his shoulder, watching as Gale’s gaze returned to your daughter, his fingers gently tracing her tiny hand as she slept soundly in your arms.

Astarion:
The soft glow of candlelight flickered across the stone walls of your shared room, casting long shadows as you sat by the fire, cradling your newborn in your arms. The long and arduous process of giving birth had taken its toll on you, but the sight of your baby’s peaceful face nestled against your chest filled you with a joy so deep that the exhaustion seemed to melt away.
Astarion had been supportive throughout the pregnancy, doting on you in ways you never imagined he would, but ever since the birth, he had become quieter, more reserved, as if he wasn’t sure how to step into this new role. He had gone out earlier that evening, likely to clear his head, as he often did when faced with unfamiliar emotions. You hadn’t pressed him, understanding that this was a profound change for him, one he likely never expected to experience.
Now, with your baby in your arms, a surprise lay in wait for him. You had chosen a name—a name that held deep meaning, not just for you, but for him. A name that would connect him to this new life in a way you hoped would touch the very core of who he was.
The sound of the door creaking open pulled you from your thoughts. Astarion stepped into the room, his pale skin catching the firelight, making him look even more ethereal. His red eyes found you immediately, softening as he approached, though there was still that cautious distance he had kept since the baby’s arrival.
He was hesitant, not out of disinterest, but out of fear—fear of this new chapter, of his own ability to be what you and the baby needed him to be. You smiled warmly at him, your heart swelling with love.
“Astarion,” you called softly, beckoning him closer.
He approached cautiously, his eyes drifting to the small bundle in your arms, and you saw the flicker of something vulnerable cross his face. His hand twitched as though he wanted to reach out, but he held back, unsure of how to move forward.
“I don’t want to intrude,” Astarion said softly, his voice tinged with uncertainty. “I… I’m not quite sure what to do in all of this.”
You shifted slightly, making room for him beside you. “You’re not intruding. You’re her father. Come sit with us.”
His eyes widened ever so slightly at the word father, but after a brief hesitation, he sat beside you, careful and measured in his movements. His gaze flickered from you to the baby, then back again, his usual confidence overshadowed by a nervous vulnerability that you had rarely seen in him.
"She’s so tiny," he whispered, almost in awe. "So… fragile."
You nodded, adjusting the baby gently so Astarion could get a better look at her. “She’s strong, though. Like her father.”
Astarion gave a soft, breathless chuckle, though it was clear he was still overwhelmed by the reality before him. "I’m not sure I deserve that comparison."
You reached out, gently taking his hand and placing it on the baby’s back, encouraging him to feel the steady warmth of her little body. He flinched slightly at the contact but quickly relaxed, his expression softening as he felt the tiny life beneath his palm. The look of wonder in his eyes made your heart swell.
“I named her,” you whispered, watching his reaction carefully.
His gaze snapped to yours, a flicker of curiosity and trepidation in his eyes. “Oh? What name did you choose?”
You took a deep breath, feeling a mixture of excitement and nervousness at the surprise you were about to reveal. “Her name is Astra.”
Astarion blinked, his face momentarily blank as he processed the name. Then, slowly, realization dawned on him, and his red eyes widened in disbelief. He opened his mouth to speak, but no words came out, his breath catching in his throat as the meaning behind the name sank in.
“Astra?” he finally whispered, his voice barely audible. “You… named her Astra?”
You nodded, smiling at him with all the love you felt. “Yes. Astra, the female version of your name. I wanted her to carry a part of you with her, always. I know how much your name means to you—how it’s the one thing that’s truly yours after everything you’ve been through. I wanted to give you something else, something between just you and her.”
Astarion’s eyes glistened with unshed tears, and for a moment, he seemed utterly speechless. His gaze dropped to the tiny baby in your arms—his daughter—and the depth of emotion in his expression took your breath away. His hand, which had been resting so gently on her back, now trembled slightly, as though the weight of what you had done was almost too much for him to bear.
“You named her after me,” he murmured, his voice thick with emotion. “I never… I never imagined…”
He trailed off, his usual eloquence failing him as he struggled to find the right words. His eyes shimmered with a vulnerability that was rare for him to show, and you could see the mix of awe, disbelief, and gratitude that swirled within him.
“Astarion,” you said softly, leaning in closer. “I wanted her to know where she came from. Who her father is. And I wanted you to know how much you mean to both of us.”
A single tear escaped the corner of his eye, and Astarion quickly wiped it away with the back of his hand, as though embarrassed by the show of emotion. But when he looked back at you, his face was alight with something that could only be described as love—a deep, profound love that he rarely allowed himself to express so openly. He leaned in, pressing a tender, lingering kiss to your forehead.
"You never cease to amaze me, you know that?" he whispered, his voice still thick with emotion.
When he pulled back, he looked down at Astra again, and a soft smile spread across his face—a smile that was filled with a mixture of pride and wonder. He gently traced a finger along the baby's tiny hand, and when her fingers instinctively curled around his, he let out a soft, breathless laugh.
"She’s perfect," Astarion said, his voice filled with awe. "Absolutely perfect."
You leaned against him, feeling the warmth of his body beside yours, and together, the two of you watched over your daughter, named in honor of a man who had been through so much yet had found love and light in the most unexpected of places.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Wyll:
The sun was just beginning to set over the horizon, casting a warm amber glow through the windows of your shared room. You sat by the window, gently rocking the newborn in your arms, her small body bundled up in soft blankets as she slept peacefully. The past few days had been a whirlwind of emotion and exhaustion, but every time you looked down at your daughter, you were filled with a deep sense of love and pride.
Wyll had been nothing short of incredible during the birth—strong, reassuring, and steadfast, even when it seemed the weight of his emotions might overwhelm him. But despite his joy, you had sensed a subtle hesitation in him when it came to naming your child. He’d mentioned nothing specific, always deferring to your wishes, but you knew there was a name that held deep meaning for him, a name he hadn’t suggested because he didn’t want to push his own desires onto you.
You had been planning this surprise ever since you realized what name would mean the most to him. And tonight, after all the love and sacrifice he had shown, you were finally going to give him that gift.
The door creaked open, and Wyll stepped inside, his posture weary but his face lighting up when he saw you with the baby. His dark eyes sparkled with a mixture of relief and adoration. He had spent the day attending to his responsibilities, making sure the city was safe and handling the myriad of duties that came with being the Blade of Frontiers. But now, here in the quiet of your home, he was just Wyll, your Wyll.
“Hey, love,” he said softly, approaching you with a tender smile. “How are my two favorite ladies doing?”
“We’re doing well,” you replied with a soft chuckle. “She’s been sleeping soundly.”
Wyll knelt beside you, his eyes fixed on your daughter. His expression was filled with awe every time he looked at her, as if he still couldn’t quite believe she was real, that she was his. Gently, he reached out, brushing a thumb along the baby’s tiny cheek.
“She’s beautiful,” Wyll whispered, his voice filled with emotion. “Just like her mother.”
You smiled, your heart swelling with love for him. He had been so patient, so selfless, never once pressing his own hopes or desires. And now, you were ready to surprise him with something you knew would touch his heart in a way that nothing else could.
“I’ve been thinking about her name,” you said softly, watching as Wyll’s eyes flickered with curiosity. “And I’ve decided.”
Wyll’s eyebrows raised slightly, his face a picture of attentive concern, but also restraint. “Oh? Have you? I know it’s been a difficult decision, and I didn’t want to rush you.”
You held his gaze, feeling the love you had for him radiating in every word you were about to speak. “I’ve named her Francesca.”
For a moment, Wyll didn’t react. It was as if the name hung in the air, sinking into him slowly, its meaning unravelling. His eyes widened, and his breath caught in his throat. He stared at you, his expression a mixture of disbelief and overwhelming emotion.
“Francesca…” he repeated, his voice barely above a whisper. “After my mother?”
You nodded, your smile soft and loving. “Yes. I know you never mentioned it because you didn’t want to sway me, but I’ve seen the way you talk about her. I’ve heard the love in your voice every time you’ve told me stories about her, that your father passed down to you. I wanted to honor that, and I wanted our daughter to carry that legacy with her.”
Wyll blinked rapidly, as though trying to hold back the sudden rush of tears. He stood up slowly, his hand coming to rest over his mouth as he turned away for a moment, struggling to compose himself. When he finally turned back to you, his eyes were filled with tears, but there was a smile on his face—a smile so full of love and gratitude that it made your heart ache.
“I… I don’t know what to say,” Wyll whispered, his voice trembling with emotion. “I never expected… I never thought…”
He knelt beside you again, this time more tenderly, as if the weight of your gift had overwhelmed him. Gently, he reached out and touched his daughter’s tiny hand, watching as her fingers instinctively curled around his. His tears finally spilled over, but he didn’t bother wiping them away. Instead, he looked at you, his eyes shining with gratitude.
“I promise you,” he said, his voice low and filled with emotion, “I will be the best father to Francesca. I will make sure she knows who her grandmother was, and I will teach her everything my mother taught me. I will protect her, love her, and cherish her, just like you’ve done for me.”
You smiled, leaning in to press a soft kiss to his lips. “I know you will, Wyll. I never had any doubt.”
For a long moment, the two of you sat there, watching your daughter sleep, the room filled with the quiet warmth of your love and the promise of the future you would build together. Wyll wrapped his arm around your shoulders, pulling you close as he whispered into your ear.
“Thank you,” he said, his voice filled with awe. “Thank you for giving me this gift. You’ve made me the happiest man in the world.”
The next morning, a warm breeze filled the air as you and Wyll prepared to visit Ulder Ravengard, Wyll’s father, with your newborn daughter. The weight of the decision you had made—the name that carried such profound significance—still lingered between you both like a quiet, shared secret. Wyll had held you close the night before, murmuring his love and endless gratitude. Now, it was time to share that gift with his father, a man whose stoic exterior hid the deep love and pain of having lost his wife, Francesca, so many years ago.
As you dressed your daughter in a soft blanket, Wyll stood by, watching with tender pride. His hands trembled slightly as he straightened the collar of his tunic, clearly nervous about the conversation ahead. He hadn't told his father yet. No one knew of the decision except the two of you.
"You look beautiful," he said softly, his voice filled with love as he gazed down at you and your daughter. "Both of you."
You smiled up at him, sensing his anxiety. "She’s going to love hearing her grandfather’s voice. And she’s already wrapped around her father's little finger."
Wyll let out a nervous laugh, rubbing the back of his neck. "If she’s anything like her mother, she’ll have me wrapped around hers in no time."
With your daughter safely bundled in your arms, the three of you made your way through Baldur's Gate. The city was bustling with activity, the markets alive with voices and the scent of fresh bread filling the air. Wyll walked close beside you, his hand occasionally brushing your back in a quiet gesture of reassurance. You could feel the weight of the moment in his silence.
When you finally arrived at Ulder Ravengard's estate, the sun was high in the sky, casting long shadows over the grand stone steps. A guard greeted you and led you inside, where Ulder sat at a large, intricately carved table, maps and documents spread out before him. He looked up when you entered, his stern face softening slightly at the sight of Wyll and the baby in your arms.
"Father," Wyll greeted him, his voice steady but filled with something deeper—something reverent. He reached out, shaking his father’s hand before glancing nervously at you and the baby. "We wanted to come by and… introduce you to your granddaughter."
Ulder’s gaze shifted to you, and then down to the small bundle in your arms. His brow furrowed slightly, his usual unreadable expression slipping into something more curious. He rose from his chair, approaching slowly, almost cautiously.
"She’s beautiful," Ulder said quietly, his deep voice rough around the edges. "You must be proud."
"We are," Wyll replied, his voice tight with emotion. He cleared his throat, glancing at you before continuing. "There’s… something important we wanted to tell you."
You stepped forward, offering your daughter to Ulder. He hesitated for a brief moment before gently taking her into his arms, his hands surprisingly tender for someone so often defined by duty and discipline. He looked down at her, a soft light filling his eyes that you hadn’t expected to see in a man as hardened by war and loss as Ulder Ravengard.
"Father," Wyll began, his voice steady but thick with meaning, "we’ve named her Francesca."
The name hung in the air for a long moment, sinking into the room like a warm, bittersweet weight. Ulder’s hands froze as he held his granddaughter, his gaze locked on her small, sleeping face. His expression was one of shock, disbelief, and something much deeper—a pain that had never quite healed, a loss that had never truly faded.
"Francesca…" he whispered, his voice so low you could barely hear it.
Wyll stepped closer to his father, his hand resting gently on the older man’s shoulder. "We named her after Mother. We wanted to honor her memory, and… we thought it was the right way to keep her close to us, through our daughter."
Ulder’s eyes grew wet with unshed tears, his grip tightening slightly around the baby as though she were the most fragile thing in the world. He looked up at you, his gaze soft but filled with unspoken emotion, before turning his attention back to Wyll.
"I… I don’t know what to say," Ulder admitted, his voice thick with emotion. His usual stoic demeanor had cracked, revealing a depth of feeling that rarely surfaced. "It’s been so many years since…"
He trailed off, unable to finish the sentence. You could see the memories swirling in his mind, the image of his beloved wife, Francesca, whom he had lost far too soon, a loss that had left a permanent scar on both father and son. But now, here she was again, in a way—in the form of this tiny life, this new beginning.
Ulder blinked rapidly, as if trying to force back the tears that threatened to spill over. He looked down at his granddaughter again, his large hands cradling her gently as he pressed a soft kiss to her forehead.
"Thank you," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "Thank you both."
For a long moment, Ulder simply stood there, holding his granddaughter with a tenderness you hadn’t expected to see in him. He was a man of war, a leader, but in this moment, he was just a father and a grandfather—grateful for the chance to remember and honor the woman he had lost so many years ago.
Finally, Ulder handed the baby back to you, his eyes filled with something deeper than gratitude.
"Francesca," he repeated, his voice stronger now. "She will grow up knowing who her grandmother was. I will make sure of it."
Wyll nodded, his eyes shining with emotion as he looked at his father. "Thank you, Father."
As you held your daughter close, you couldn’t help but feel the depth of what you had given Wyll, and by extension, his father—a piece of Francesca’s memory that would live on, carried forward into the future. Wyll wrapped an arm around your waist, pulling you close as you both watched Ulder wipe away the last traces of his tears.

Halsin:
The soft murmur of the forest outside your home was a constant, soothing presence as you gently rocked your newborn in your arms. The late afternoon sunlight filtered through the trees, casting a warm golden glow over the room. You sat by the open window, the scent of pine and fresh earth drifting in, mingling with the soft coos of your daughter. The world felt at peace in this moment, and your heart swelled with love for the tiny life you now held in your arms.
Halsin had been an incredible partner throughout your pregnancy. His calm, reassuring presence had been your anchor, his strength your shelter, but also his tenderness, that unshakable connection to nature, was ever-present. Now that your daughter was here, he had been even more attentive—both in caring for you and in gently bonding with your newborn. His large hands, capable of such strength, were so gentle with her, cradling her as if she were the most delicate thing in the world.
But even with all his devotion, you had noticed something in him over the past few days. A slight hesitation, as though something was on his mind that he didn’t want to burden you with. It was subtle—Halsin was never one to impose his feelings on you—but you could see it in the way his eyes softened when he looked at your daughter, a fleeting glance of something unsaid. You had a suspicion about what it was, but you had waited for the perfect moment to surprise him.
That moment had come.
The door creaked softly, and you looked up to see Halsin entering the room, his presence filling the space as always. His expression immediately softened when he saw you holding your daughter, a gentle smile tugging at the corners of his lips. He approached quietly, as though not to disturb the peaceful atmosphere you had created.
"How are my two loves?" he asked, his deep voice as warm as the sunlight streaming in through the window.
"We're perfect," you replied, smiling up at him. "Just enjoying the quiet and some time together."
Halsin knelt down beside you, his large hand resting on the arm of your chair as he gazed down at your daughter with an expression so full of love it made your heart ache. He gently reached out to stroke her tiny head, his fingers brushing through the soft tufts of hair.
"She is perfect," he murmured, his voice filled with awe. "Every time I see her, I am reminded of how precious life is… and how much I have to be thankful for."
You watched him closely, seeing that flicker of something unsaid in his eyes again. It was time to give him the surprise you had been waiting to share.
"I've been thinking about her name," you said softly, catching his attention. His eyes flicked up to meet yours, his expression attentive but patient.
"Of course," Halsin replied, a gentle curiosity in his tone. "It is important to choose a name that carries meaning, one that honors the spirit of life she represents."
You smiled, your heart racing a little in anticipation. "I’ve already chosen it. I’ve named her Thania."
For a brief moment, Halsin froze, his expression one of pure shock. His lips parted slightly, and his golden eyes widened as if he couldn’t quite believe what he had heard. He stared at you in stunned silence, as though trying to process the weight of the name you had just spoken.
"Thania?" he finally whispered, his voice so soft it was almost a breath. His hand stilled over your daughter’s head, trembling ever so slightly. "After Thaniel?"
You nodded, your smile tender and full of love. "Yes. I know how much he means to you. Thaniel was a part of your life in such a profound way, and I wanted to honor that. So, I thought… what better way to honor the bond you had with him than to give our daughter a name that reflects that connection to nature and life?"
Halsin stared at you, his chest rising and falling as emotion swirled within him. You could see the conflict in his eyes—the joy, the disbelief, the overwhelming gratitude that he struggled to put into words. His hand moved to cover yours, his grip firm but tender as if grounding himself in the moment.
"I…" His voice caught in his throat, and he paused, taking a breath to steady himself. "You’ve given her a name that is sacred to me. Thaniel was not just a spirit of the land… he was a part of my soul, a symbol of everything I fought for, everything I believe in. To name her after him… it is more than I ever could have asked for."
Tears welled in his eyes, though he did nothing to hide them. His usual composure was shattered by the depth of his gratitude and love. He leaned in closer, pressing his forehead gently against yours, his breath warm and shaky.
"Thank you," Halsin whispered, his voice thick with emotion. "Thank you for this gift. You have honored not just me, but the land itself, the spirit of life. She will grow up knowing the importance of that connection."
You felt your own tears sting at the corners of your eyes as you leaned into his touch. "She’ll know, Halsin. We’ll teach her together."
Halsin pulled back slightly, his eyes shining with unshed tears, but his smile was radiant. He turned his attention to your daughter once more, gently taking her tiny hand in his and brushing it with his thumb.
"Thania," he whispered, testing the name on his lips as if savoring it. "You are a child of the earth, of the wilds. You carry a name that is tied to life itself, and you will always know the beauty and strength of the world around you. I will make sure of it."
He gently kissed the top of her head, his touch reverent, before turning back to you. Without a word, he cupped your face in his large hands and kissed you deeply, a kiss full of love, gratitude, and promise. When he pulled back, his eyes were full of nothing but adoration.
"I love you," he whispered. "More than words could ever express. You’ve given me more than I ever thought possible."
You smiled, your heart overflowing with happiness. "I love you too, Halsin. "
For a moment, the three of you sat there in the warmth of the fading sunlight, surrounded by the quiet serenity of the forest. Your daughter, Thania, was nestled between you and Halsin.
Halsin gently cradled his daughter in his arms, looking down at her with a sense of wonder and awe. His voice, soft and full of promise, carried through the room as he whispered to her, "You will grow strong, little one. As strong as the land itself. And I will be by your side, every step of the way."

Annabeth was, unsurprisingly, a night owl. Camp had kept her on a pretty early morning scheduled, but the late start of most college classes meant she could stay up late into the hours she worked best, and sleep through most of the early morning.
And then her feminist philosophy course chose to do something she considered deeply unfeminist: get scheduled for nine in the morning. The coffee shop near campus recognized her at this point. She only needed to step in the door at 8:40 and look at the familiar barista for them to start making her red eye - a cold brew with a shot of espresso - and toasted bagel.
It didn't help that Percy also liked to sleep in, and was usually still snoozing when she dragged herself out the door. He looked so comfy. It would be so easy to ...
Annabeth grabbed her backpack and dragged herself out of their apartment, before she could give into the temptation to skip. She'd actually done all the reading this time. She couldn't not go.
When Annabeth got back from class, the apartment was empty. Percy would be in his own class for another two hours. Annabeth dropped her backpack, shucked off her jeans and bra, and slipped back under the blankets.
She woke up gently to the feeling of an arm slipping around her waist. Her mind must have subconsciously recognized Percy's familiar smell, because she didn't jump into action. Either that or the safe life in New Rome was making her lazy.
"Hi baby," Annabeth said, her voice coming out in a whisper, her eyes still closed.
Percy gave her a good squeeze. "Hey, sorry, didn't mean to wake you."
"'S fine," she said, snuggling back into his chest. Percy held her tighter, burying his face in her hair. "How was class?"
"Pretty cool," he said. Annabeth knew Percy really liked his pedagogy professor, and that he was genuinely enjoying the work he had to do for that class. It made her happy to see him happy and actually excited about school.
"I'm glad," she said, her mind drifting off again.
She felt Percy's hand move some of her hair off her neck, and then felt his lips press against her pulse. His legs slotted between hers, tangling them together as his hand slipped up under her shirt. It wasn't particularly sexual, she knew. He just wanted to be close to her and feel her heart beat under his hand. Annabeth relaxed under his protective touch.
"This is all I've ever wanted," he whispered to her, stunningly sentimental for a Thursday afternoon.
Annabeth hummed, content. "Sons and daughters," she mumbled.
"What?" Percy asked, nuzzling his head into her shoulder.
"You also want sons and daughters," she reminded him. He'd told her about his future dreams enough. And anyway, Annabeth wanted them too.
"Yeah, I want that too," Percy promised with another kiss to her neck. "Is this your way of telling me you're pregnant?" He joked.
"Yep, quadruplets. Two of each," she joked back.
"Hell yeah," he said, and then: "we probably shouldn't joke. You'll end up thinking four babies into existence."
Annabeth made a little pouting noise. "Oh, would that be so terrible?" She teased.
"Yeah," his hand slipped from where it had been resting on her chest down to her abdomen, "would rob me of the chance to dote on my pregnant wife."
Annabeth reached back to get her hand in his hair, twisting a bit until she was able to actually kiss him. "I love your little domestic fantasies," she told him. "Most twenty-year-olds are dreaming of hot girlfriends, handles of vodka, and sports cars."
"Already got a hot girlfriend," Percy said, "and vodka sucks, and Apollo kind of ruined sports cars for me."
"I guess babies are all that's left," Annabeth said.
"Guess so," he agreed, kissing her one more time. He snuggled back into his big spoon position. "Anything else you want, baby?" He asked her.
Annabeth thought for a moment. She tried to think of something sexy to say, but her thoughts were interrupted by a sudden awareness that she was so fucking hungry. She hadn't eaten since the morning, and now it was passed lunch time.
"Maybe like a cupcake or something," she said. "Oh! Or pho!"
Percy laughed. "You do kind of sound like a pregnant lady." She kicked him a little under the sheets, which only made him laugh more. "I can bake some cupcakes if you want to order pho?" He suggested.
"Okay," Annabeth said, before dramatically stretching her arm behind her, reaching helplessly for her phone.
Percy rolled over to get it for her, and she took the opportunity to roll over with him, until she was on top of him, pressing him into the mattress on his back. Annabeth rested her chest on his, her head on his shoulder, and breathed in his familiar smell as she relaxed on top of him.
"Hi," Percy said, rubbing her back. "Whatcha doing?"
She shrugged, not really sure how to answer. "Chillin'," she said finally.
"Sounds good. Food though?" She nodded and let Percy order on her phone as she stayed comfortable on top of him.
"Forty-five minutes," Percy said, as his other arm, now free of her phone, wrapped back around her.
"Wanna snuggle till it gets here?" She asked.
"Thought you wanted a cupcake?" Percy asked.
"I can wait," Annabeth said, letting herself relax again, until she was sleep on top him.

dec. 14 ✧ day one ✧ preparing your home for winter - itoshi sae x reader fluff, blue lock. note: reader is close with her mother in this, and has some personality.
Tumblr media
"Cute." Sae raises a soft toy out of the box of them, squeezing its head in your direction as if it's nodding. You can't help but laugh at his nonchalant face whilst doing something so childish.
The box is full of them, never thrown out since the day you were born. It makes him about what you must've been like as a child. With a room full of stuffed toys, he imagines, from how many he's seeing in the box right now. Did you covet them, similarly to how you do with him now?
"I don't know what my mom was thinking, buying all of these for me." You sigh, sifting through them for a bit before shutting the box back again, a lift of dust catching the light like fireflies.
"She loves and spoils you. Are you sure you wanna throw all this out?" He gestures to the row of boxes lined against the wall.
You sigh again. You've done that a lot throughout this process, something like pain and grief and fatigue all in one.
"My grandmother was a huge hoarder. It might seem strange but… This is the best thing. The thing I've wanted to do for so long."
You take his hands in yours, lacing your fingers together. "Thank you for being here for me through this. The donations… it feels like a good thing."
He's never sure what to do or what to say when you get like this. Your heavy-heartedness, the sentimentality you hold. Sometimes, he can't believe that all you feel fits in your chest.
It must be heavy, he thinks. He loves you. He'll hold it with you.
He pats your head, and the way you beam at him makes everything a little lighter.
"You've provided so much for me, Sae," you wrap your arms around his neck. "You've given me so much. It feels right, to be able to at least give back a little." You stare out at the boxes, a nostalgic look passing over for just a moment. "This'll all go to homes. It's something my mom and I used to do together, give them out. She'd be happy to hear it's finally going to be of good use. I'll call her and let her know."
You've said this before, that he provides for you. Something about having a home, about security, about finally being able to relax. He's not always sure what you mean, just happy to make you happy. What you provide for him, someone to come home to, a love that feels bigger than the world, your innovation and communication and compassion -- That, he knows. He imagines it's something like that. He hopes it is.
"Giving back does sound good," he hums.
"My mother says it's good feng shui, too, you know. To clear out a home before the new year starts."
"New year, new me?" he jests, and you smack him in the chest.
"It sounds weird when you say it!"

Please learn more than just a Phrase.
I don't expect people to be subject matter experts on issues of global politics.
But false equivalency is rampant in online discourse regarding three major conflicts in the world today. I am using the word conflict in this post, however, when applicable, i will use other words to describe specifics. (Nuance folks... it's a thing)
So i start off with an assumption that most people don't understand the basics of most international events. As an american, i only know some of the stuff that is happening within my own nation. This is not an insult to you, dear reader. Rather, it is a position we all must realize we are in. You do not understand most world issues.
You just don't.
you aren't there. it isn't your life. you don't have the academic background.
I saw a post recently calling for "freedom for Palestine, Sudan, and Congo."
And it bothered me. Not because i am opposed to peace, (how is asking for ceasefire a bad thing?) but rather because i believe simplifying the conflicts with this wording showcases the ignorance of the differences.
Not all conflicts are the same.
In palestine, we have a convoluted mess where two groups claim a territory as home. getting into the in-depth story of this conflict takes time. Foundational elements of it take place thousands of years ago, but the conflict itself is only about 75 years old. So it is a long and short story. Currently, the sovereign state of Israel is engaging in a genocide in Gaza. Asking for freedom for palestinians makes sense. they live in an apartheid state and would like a state of their own. they wish to be free of occupation. you can argue with the details, be pro-israel, or whatever, but that is the basic ask of palestinians. (if you want to get into anti-semetic regional sentiment or the desire of certain groups to eradicate the israeli jewish population or Israel as a nation that's a different topic, not the point of what i'm talking about.)
In the Congo and Sudan, it is a different story.
Let's start with the Congo. First of all, Which Congo?
Let's please understand that there is the Republic of the Congo and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The Republic of the Congo is a former french colony. Then there is Democratic Republic of the Congo. Some of us might remember this country as Zaire.
the DRC is the congo we are talking about in the news. This was a former belgian colony and the atrocities committed by the belgians there rival any genocide in human history. i've seen estimates between 5 million and 20 million deaths. some estimates state the population of native congolese were cut in HALF. since the turbulent start of the country after their independence in 1960, the country knew relative peace until the 1990s. Then a mixture of a weak central government and the Rwandan Civil war (which had it's own genocide you may have heard about) spilled over into what was then Zaire. Zaire dissolved, and the DRC took it's place, But the wars have been raging off an on since then. earlier this year, more civil war violence erupted AGAIN. This displaced millions, AGAIN. while the DRC is a bit of an autocratic and repressive regime, the rebel groups are groups with ties with the Rwandan government and the other group with ties to Isis. It's awful all the way down.
Sudan has had an ongoing civil war for over 20 years. I remember this because i helped lead some anti-genocide protests regarding Darfur when i was in college 20 years ago. I've been following this conflict for nearly my entire adult life. you may have heard about this with regards to the Save Darfur coalition regarding the genocide in Darfur. Well, that genocide has continued (albeit with less intensity) for 20 years. the civil war lasted until 2021, but restarted in a different form in late 2023. the conflict is now between two different sides of the military government fighting each other.
It is an awful conflict full of awful leaders. Sudan's government suffered a revolution in 2019 from a dictator, only to have that government overthrown in a coup by the current dictator. The Sudanese military is supported by folks like Russia and North Korea. you might see that among the other countries that support sudan, bunch of communist countries, and you might think "hey, maybe al-Burhan is a leftist".
no... no he is not.
He is a military despot. He has no ties to any real ideology. He just runs sudan as a military dictator.
So who is opposing him?
The Rapid Support Forces. and you may be thinking "ok, so they are the good guys? trying to overthrow the dictator?"
No... They are the ones that instigated the Genocide in Darfur.
This is a situation is "no matter who wins, the people of Sudan lose."
So when folks claim these are all the same. Or wonder why folks talk about one and not the other.
there are reasons. These are very different conflicts. Please learn about them. It matters more than spouting some 4 word slogan calling for "freedom."
Find out what the people of these areas actually need. Learn more about what is happening. My description above is incomplete. I may even get some things wrong. I am trying to keep informed, but I am not an expert, nor do i live there. Raise voices from the region and find out if there are ways to help.

Can I plz rq hcs for being married to both shisui and Madara? Like how would they be with their s/o, domestic vibes, etc?
uchiha bride
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
[🗼] yesss I love this idea!! I've been in the madara feelings lately hahah I wanted to post this yesterday but I ate way too many tamales I felt sick
characters: shisui uchiha; madara uchiha
genre: sfw
warnings: gn!reader; possessiveness; mentions of discrimination ?; mention of manipulation; stalking; obsessive traits
Tumblr media
..
..
..
..
-shisui husband of the year!! hellooo, this uchiha is just so sweet and mindful of you all the time
-your wedding was probably very traditional although very small. both shisui and you didn't want a lot of people there. he is a very private man after all
-if you are not uchiha, you must learn all to their customs and their culture, im sorry. shisui may disagree with some of his clan's ideals, but he still finds some of them very important and he loves them
-but of course he will also be very very open to learning more about your clan's traditions and if your clan has something special (like a kenkkei genkai or a physical feature), he wants to learn all the history behind it
-as we all know, the uchiha can be a bit hostile to foreigners, so if you were of another clan or even another village, shisui can even feel a bit pitiful that you have to go through all of this because of his dumb clan
-he assures you all the time that you are the perfect person for him, regardless of the loud, rude words that you can hear on your way to his house. which may lead to shisui and you moving to a house a bit secluded from the others, but still in the compound
-yeah im sorry but I sincerely do not see shisui dropping his duties as an uchiha and as a villager of konoha just for you. yes he loves you tons, but he always manages to divide equally his commitments. he will stay in the compound because he is an uchiha and has his own obligations in the clan
-even though it was a bit hard at the beginning because you were expecting different, shisui will not treat you any different. as a boyfriend, he was the best the version of himself, and now as a husband, he still is the best version of himself. he believes he shouldn't treat his spouse worse or better just because they are married. he always gave his 200% ok
-very domestic husband although he is out for work a lot. there are times he feels guilty for leaving you alone too much, but he is a provider okayyy he needs to work hard enough so you have everything
-which is why he will try to convince you to stay home if you are a shinobi. if he succeeds, he is deeply happy and relieved that you are safe now. but if you decide to keep your job as a ninja, he just lectures you to always be cautious and blah blah blah he is just worried okay? he doesn't want to lose his boo
-shisui will come with you to the gates of the village to bid you farewell with the longest, knee-dropping kiss. you only wish to end the mission soon so you can come back to have another one of his amazing kisses
-on canon universe, you only knew half of what was happening with the village and the clan. but on his final day, he made time to tell you everything, and just love you one last time oh no im not ok
-other uchiha and of course other villagers would respect you a lot of course. you are the spouse of sunshin no shisui hellooo. people will know of you immediately since shisui was quite the popular in the village. and ohh!! I am convinced many girls would be jealous of you because you took shisui first aughhh I wanna elaborate on this idea more haha
Tumblr media
-madara is the most sensible and sentimental uchiha out there istg. he does not fall in love, and if he does, then i'ts over for the person, either they die or they both get married
-no but seriously, I don't want to get too much into this, but I deeply believe canon madara would not really get married because he is way too traumatized and obsessed with peace and war and dreams. so let's pretend this is another kind of au where madara is kind of normal and sane
-as much as you both wanted a small, quiet wedding, you just couldn't get it. madara is the clan leader and let's not forget he has the most booming, extrovert, and simple-minded best friends so of course it couldn't be a simple wedding
-hashirama wanted your wedding to be very special, and even though it was a bit too extravagant for your first ideas, it ended up being very cute and nice. madara is deeply in love with you, and from now on, you become his
-not that wasn't like that before. you were his everything the moment he realized his wanted you, and you were his from that second too. it's just that now he can say it out and wouldn't be called weird haha silly guy
-you gained the title of madara's spouse and by no means is that to take unseriously. all the uchiha clansmen respect you, at least in front of you. if you were from a different clan, you are to be judged there sorry. at least they are not dumb and do not say it out loud, but there are still whispers and well-masked judgmental faces every time you walked through the compound
-madara decides it is best for you two to live in the compound, and you can't really complain since he is clan head. however madara makes sure you are satisfied every day. always obtaining what you want thanks to the servants madara assigned you. and of course when he is home with you, he is very attentive to you
-you are never alone. if you're in your house and if madara is not there, there is always someone there with you, either the housekeeper or your servant. if you are out, there is someone there following your every step. when you realize this, you get mad at madara. he promises he will stop though he only reprimands the shinobi for being too noticeable and replaces him
-you get to know two faces of Madera. the one he shows everyone else, and the one he is with you. at first you are a bit taken aback by his sudden changes of demeanor and personality. he is firm, dominant, and stoic in front of others, even of his clansmen. his essence is dominant. but with you? he still is but a lot less lol
-he just can't help it at first, he says some things so bluntly that they even hurt. but he learns that you are no enemy, that you are his temple, he shouldn't be harsh to you. he ends up being very soft, you become his weakness, if you say something, he complies
-BUT the only thing he can't get rid of is his possessiveness, you are his, why do you need to go with someone else? you have him, is he not enough? do you want him to make some shadow clones so he is always your first choice? madara doesn't like seeing you with a lot of people; he has a mental list of the only people he is okay with, please respect his list
-he always needs to know what you do, where you will be going and what you will do. if you don't dare to spare any details, he will find out himself, though he will be hurt and disappointed
-and lets be reals guys... madara will at some point, manipulate you. either he doesn't like something you're doing or someone you are seeing, he will be very subtle with his words and just guide you toward a decision he wants you to make. he isn't stupid and tells you right there, no. he wants you to feel some sense of control of your actions when in reality, he is in charge of them
-he is a great husband though lol a bit insane but he deeply deeply loves you. he fears somethings happens to you and that's why he wants to control your life

kyle broflovski x reader who is seen as the weird kid because she doesn't talks alot, has social anxiety, and likes things like five nights and Freddy's and listens to weezer ( also if your comfortable with it can they be dating pretty please it's ok if not I completely understand also how have you been hopefully good?)
I am currently getting over being sick, so I've been aa huge baby for the last 2 days but all is good! I hope you've been doing well too!
I tried to make sure I included everything- sometimes a little subtly and I hope that's alright! (I also don't think any of those things is weird, but I also know how shallow people get with interests so I wrote that in!)
Summary: Kyle's got a girlfriend that some of his classmates find a little odd. While he loves how different she is, he can't help but feel anger at how others have been treating her (fluff)
a/n: Cartman is an ass in this because I think he makes for an easy antagonist. I did add a bit of conflict because we know Kyle is protective over people he cares for and you'd have to pry that hc from my cold dead hands.
An Odd Pair- Kyle Broflovski x Weird!Reader
“Kahl, what the fuck is wrong with your girlfriend?”
“Watch your goddamn mouth, fat ass,” Kyle narrowed his eyes at the large boy to his left. It was game night at Stan’s and while Kyle wasn’t super into board games, he wasn’t going to pass up a chance to spend time with most of his favorite people, Cartman excluded.
“I’m just saying, the bitch is weird and you need to drop her if you want your social stock to rise,” shoving a handful of cheesy poofs in his mouth, Cartman continued talking through his mouthful. “I’m just trying to help you, Jew.”
“Cartman, lay off. Let Kyle like who he likes, it’s not like it affects you,” Stan jumped in, the instructions to their game loosely held in his hands. Kyle could tell he was already growing irritated as it had been an hour passed and they had not gotten any closer to actually playing the damn game.
“Nuh-uh! I have to see her everywhere!”
Standing up abruptly, Kyle strode out of the kitchen to the back porch, taking in the fresh air. He was getting really tired of this shit. It was one thing when it was Cartman since he was always an asshole, but lately he had started hearing the same sentiments from other friends of his and he was growing more and more pissed off.
He can easily recall the first day he met you, a fond smile finally breaking out on his lips. He had seen you around before in hallways around school or at lunch, always with earbuds in and eyes glued to the phone in your hands. To most people you would be just another character in the background, but to him you were different. Interesting.
Most kids around here hid their more…special interests. After elementary school the true popularity contests started making others bury hobbies and loved activities deep underground. Stan had his board games, Butters had his cozy sims, even Cartman had his interest in animation, but none of it was considered public information to the masses.
You, however, wore yours on your sleeve. Shirts depicting games, movies, and bands you constantly wore showed off many of those things you so loved. More than once, Kyle had even caught sight of your phone and recognized some of the let’s plays you watched. You did that one quite openly, phone propped up on your desk or the lunch table as you ate.
It was…off putting. In a small town, differences set you apart in a bad way. As a result you were either straight up ignored or talked about in hushed whispers behind your back. Kyle, however, only felt a pull towards you.
He knew you were quiet and preferred solitude to being in crowds from how he watched you. It was a Friday afternoon when school had let out that he finally caught you sitting on a bench outside of the school. You had immediately frozen at the sight of him, but before you could rise and dash away he pointed to your shirt.
“Five Nights? I, uh, played that with my little brother. It’s pretty good, right?” His voice was uncertain, unsure if it was the right thing to say. When your eyes widened and a shy smile appeared, he knew it was.
You sat there for close to two hours after school had let out, talking about various games, which turned into discussing music, which eventually led to him dropping you off at home with the promise to talk on discord. Oh how he really liked you then.
He could say with certainty that he loved you now.
It had been months of late night chats, watching let’s plays, and listening to each other's playlists that slowly started sounding very much the same. Kyle had a lot of his own safe-for-school hobbies like playing a few sports casually and being on debate (which thanks to Wendy Testaburger was considered a popular thing nowadays), but you brought out things about himself that made him feel young and relaxed. There wasn’t any shame in liking those things- especially since you liked them.
And he wasn’t going to stand for any slander against you.
_____
“Hey pretty!” Kyle greeted you with a quick kiss to the cheek. The hallway was bustling with students socializing and preparing for the day ahead. All you wanted to do was grab your books and get to your classroom before even more people could flood in.
“Hey,” your quiet voice was sweet to his ears, “Weren’t you supposed to drive Ike this morning? I figured I wouldn’t see you til lunch!” Something about Kyle always gave you a fluttery feeling on the inside. He was insanely sweet and kind, and if you were honest, the only person you knew outside of family that didn’t give you some sort of anxiety.
“He hitched a ride with Kenny’s sister. I actually wanted to ask you something…” he had been thinking this over all night, looking for a possible solution to the little problem with his friends. He thought that perhaps if he could show how wonderful you were to his friends, that they might just lay the fuck off. And maybe that could spread to some of the other people he knew, like a domino effect.
It was a long shot but he needed to do something.
“We’re having a little get together at Cartman’s, and I wanted you to go with me.”
You just stared owlishly at the boy in front of you.
“Why?” Kyle blinked at the question.
“You’re my girlfriend…I don’t know, I just want my friends and my girlfriend to hang out every once in a while.” He rubbed the back of his neck. He wasn’t expecting you to jump for joy at the thought but didn’t expect you to just stand there frozen.
After a few moments you seemed to break out of your daze, scrunching your eyebrows in thought. You really didn’t want to do this, the thought of being in a space like that with people you knew didn’t like you was…a lot. You heard the whispers, it’s not like they were being particularly that quiet about it, you just ignored them. But being at a party…you couldn’t ignore it then.
But Kyle looked so disappointed, like he already knew what your answer would be. He did so much already, like putting up with you and dealing with your little quirks. Maybe you could do this one thing, and everything would be fine.
“Sure.” The beaming smile he gave told you all you needed to know. You were going to your first party.
_____
It had already been going on for a while by the time the two of you arrived, music pouring out of the teen filled home.
You already wanted to leave.
“He said it was just going to be a few people…” Kyle muttered, the hand that wasn’t holding yours clenching. He turned to you nervously. “If you want to bail, I get it.”
Taking a deep breath, you shook your head. It would be fine.
Kyle led you through the crowd in the front room, heading resolutely to the kitchen. He heaved a sigh of relief seeing Kenny and Stan at the counter.
“Hey dude! Was wondering when you’d show- oh hey Y/N!” Kenny’s bright toothy grin did little to calm your nerves. You had spent very minimal time with Kyle’s close friends, much less with Cartman who would loudly proclaim that you were ‘ruining guy time.’ It wasn’t like they were awful to you, but it was painfully awkward at the best of times.
“Hi…” with a small wave of your hand you tried to smile back in greeting. You quickly noticed the look Stan gave over your head to Kyle, and went to look at the red head who only gave you a reassuring hand squeeze.
“Want a drink?” Stan angled the question more at you than Kyle, making you shake your head. “Not a big drinker, that’s alright!”
The three boys started their conversation easily, with a comfort you could only wish to have in that regard. You tried to be a part of it the best you could, really, but every time there was a pause where you could insert yourself in you just stayed silent. But still, this wasn’t as god awful as you thought it would-
“Kahl. What the hell is she doing here?” An obnoxious voice boomed from the doorway making you flinch. Eric Cartman was as intimidating to you as anything. He was brash and loud, two things you did not mesh with in the slightest.
“She’s my girlfriend asshole, I’m allowed to bring her to a party if I want.” Kyle kept his voice steady but the malice behind the words was heard loud and clear. A few other party goers in earshot stopped and turned.
You could feel a prickling feeling behind your eyes, your brain starting to go fuzzy with all the thoughts flying around in your head. Eric and Kyle had begun exchanging heated words but all you could hear was the little voice in your brain chanting ‘You need to leave.’
Your eyes darted around, spotting the sliding glass door to the back yard. It wasn’t a direct exit to the front, you thought as you turned towards the door, but it would have to do. Before you could take a step however, a hand firmly, but not painfully, gripped your upper arm.
“Hey, mind if I come with?” Kenny still had that carefree smile on his face as he maneuvered you outside, sliding the door shut and cutting out some of the party noise. Sitting down on the small wooden porch, he gestured for you to do the same. He lit a cigarette, letting smoke rise into the air for a few minutes while you calmed down.
“Y’know, Kyle talks about you a lot,” he said with a chuckle, “like I don’t think I’ve ever heard the guy express affection the way he does with you.”
Your cheeks heated at his words. Fiddling with the bracelets at your wrist you said nothing, not because you didn’t want to, but because at the moment your brain could only draw blanks.
“He’s a lot more relaxed now too, which is great because I’m sure you know how stressed he gets,” putting out his smoke on the damp grass below, the blond turned and looked at you. “I know you’re a little shy and all, but we would like to get to know you a little more outside of what Ky tells us. After all, if our ginger is serious enough about you to make this kind of scene, you must be something special.”
Sure enough you could hear the faint sound of Kyle drilling into Cartman, but refused to look. You struggled to keep your eyes on Kenny’s face as you tried to stamp down the anxiety that had been steadily coiling throughout the day. It meant a lot that Kyle thought so highly of you, even if no one else here did, and you thought the same of him. He obviously wanted you to be around his friends in some capacity…it couldn’t hurt to let them in, at least a little.
_____
It took Stan, Clyde, and Tolkien to separate the two boys before it came to blows. It wasn’t unlike Cartman to instigate things to such a degree, but Kyle had been on edge for a while now when it came to you. Stan figured it was about time for things to come to a head.
“Hey man, chill out for a minute. Turn away from him.” Stan had a strong grip on Kyle’s shoulders, forcibly turning him away from the rest of the room. “You alright?”
“I am just so sick of people saying stuff about her!” Kyle’s voice had dropped, but the anger was ever present. “She’s just trying like everyone else to be happy. She’s allowed to like different things, so what if it’s not ‘cool’ or some shit! You know she-”
Kyle’s eyes caught something over his friend’s shoulder, causing Stan to turn around. Through the sliding doors sat you and Kenny hunched over your phone, laughter barely heard from their place inside.
“Well, she seems to be doing just fine,” Stan smiled at the sight. He had been a little wary of you at first, but once he saw how happy Kyle had become once getting together with you, he was sold. Despite how odd a pair the two of you may have seemed to the superficial social hierarchy of South Park, he saw that you two fit each other perfectly.
“I really shouldn’t have dragged her here,” sighing, Kyle sagged a bit next to his friend. “She’s got some social anxiety and I know this is not her cup of tea. Maybe I shouldn’t have been so hasty.”
Both boys watched for a moment as you and Kenny talked. After another minute you both made your way back inside with twin grins. Kyle was relieved that even after his fit you didn’t hesitate to mold yourself back to his side, fingers interlacing with his own.
“Stan, get this, Weezer is going to be in Denver next month. You, me, Y/N, and Kyle. If we pool our money together we can easily have enough gas to get there and back,” Kenny then turned and bowed to you, who had since erupted into giggles. “Miss Y/N here has graciously informed me that she knows how to get discounted tickets.”
“Oh I’m fucking down!” Stan was grinning now too, his eyes bright, “and it would do Cartman well to miss out on something he likes for once.”
“Oh, he’s a fan?” You asked, tilting your head. You had recalled hearing that same boy make fun of another kid for wearing a band T shirt, so the whole thing was rather confusing.
“Oh, big time,” Kyle peered down at you, affection clear in his eyes. “Besides, it’ll be much more fun with just us four.”
The party was forgotten as your group of four stayed huddled in the kitchen discussing possible plans and having a much more relaxed time than you had expected. Kyle watched as his friends happily talked with you, and for once you talked back with a confidence he never saw out of your private moments together. The whole picture in front of him made him feel warm, knowing that you were making two new friends that he knew were good enough for you.
Maybe he didn’t need everyone to like you. If they didn’t, they certainly weren’t worth it. In his mind nothing about you or what you liked was wrong or weird, that you were perfect regardless of anyone else’s opinions. That’s all that mattered to him.

Joey B Blurbs: Say You Love Me
Tumblr media
————————————————————————-
summary: you prank Joe by not saying “I love you” back after seeing another couple do it on TikTok.
warnings: fluff, unserious/funny, pranks, illusions to smut at the end.
pairing: joe burrow x reader
Imagine universe: Into The Mystic
————————————————————————-
*no particular date for this blurb!*
(y/n’s pov)
It was a quiet afternoon in the Burrow home, which lately seemed to be a very rare occasion. Joe was upstairs getting ready to go over to Sam Hubbard’s house since a few of the guys were getting together over there. Mostly captains and a couple of other players.
The twins currently sat next to me on the couch while they babbled back and forth with the cartoons playing on the TV.
When I found out I was pregnant, Joe and I had set very strict guidelines for our future kids. Cartoons and tech limit being a huge one we both agreed on.
Well, that was before we became parents. We quickly realized that having two toddler boys at the same time meant using anything to calm them, distract them, keep them content, etc. The list could honestly go on forever.
Now that Joe was going to be leaving soon, I planned to keep them occupied with the TV til they eventually had to take a nap.
As I noticed Miles starting to get tired, Joe came bounding down the stairs loudly making an introduction as usual.
“Hey baby, I'm going to Sam’s now. I'm gonna make sure to get home before dinnertime so I can grill steak tonight.” - Joe
“Mmm. Sounds good.” - you
He made his way over to the couch and bent down to be at eye level with me.
“I've been craving a good steak for a bit so I'm def looking forward to it.” - Joe chuckled
“Okay, babe. Have fun.” - you
Joe leaned forward to give me a quick kiss before pulling away and standing up with a smile.
“Bye, mama. I love you.” - Joe
Let the prank begin.
In all honesty, as fun as this prank was going to be just to see how he'd react it was also kinda sad. Joe has always made it apparent to verbally profess his love for me, and not matching his statement would certainly be something he'd dwell on.
When we first started dating back in high school, Joe made it known to me that the statement “I Love You.” was not something he just threw around. To him, it was a more intimate thing and he'd only tell it to someone if he truly meant it.
I was lucky enough to be one of the people on the receiving end of those three special words leaving Joe’s lips.
But for right now, he wasn't getting the return of those special words.
“Bye Joe.” - you
I tried to study his expression when he realized the fact I didn't say it back but for a second it didn't seem like he had. When he did though, it was very obvious. Maybe she didn't hear me? Joe thought.
Joe leaned down and kissed me once again, this time a lot longer than the first.
“I love you.” - Joe
“Have fun at Sam’s!” - you smiled
The look he gave me wasn't a reflection of hurt but more of confusion and worry.
“You okay?” - Joe
“Yeah, why? I'm great!” - you
He stood there for a second trying to take in my body language, but there wasn't a noticeable difference to him.
“Okay, just checking.” - Joe
Leaning down once again, Joe pressed a very thorough kiss on my lips. My hand rested on his cheek and my thumb rubbed under one of his eyes as we kissed. After, our foreheads stayed touching, and Joe just smiled at me.
“Bye, I love you.” - Joe
“Bye, baby. Tell the boys I say hi!” - you
Joe abruptly stood up after that. They way you kissed him wasn't matching your lack of sentiment.
“y/n? Did I do something?” - Joe
“No. Joe are you okay?” - you
He scoffed before collecting his thoughts and speaking.
“Well I was but i’m kinda confused now.” - Joe
“About what?” - you
I watched Joe cock his head to the side as he narrowed his eyes at me, he was completely and utterly lost.
You were acting completely normal, and happy; kissing him and calling him baby, but you wouldn't say I love you back?
“Do you not want me to go?” - Joe
“What no? Do you want me to not want you to go?” - you
“I mean I wasn't going for that, but I feel like I should stay now.” - Joe
“Why?” - you chuckled
Joe crossed his arms across his built chest, making his muscles bulge, and huffed out a loud breath.
“Are you mad that I was gonna go hang out with the guys today? If you didn't want me to go you could've told me.” - Joe
“You know I don't care if you hang out with your teammates if anything I encourage it. Why are you acting like this?” - you
“What do you mean me?? y/n, what the hell is happening?” - Joe
“I don't even know what you're referring to.” - you
He dropped his arms and ran a hand through his soft curls while heaving a sigh.
“Okay nevermind, whatever. I'm going now. I love you.” - Joe
Joe watched me intently and very closely to see what my next move was.
“Have fun, Joe. I'll be here with the boys waiting for your return.” - you
His expression and body language stayed the same but the words that left his mouth next said the opposite.
“Do you not love me anymore?” - Joe
My mouth dropped open and my eyes widened at his question, have I gone too far?
“What?! Where did that even come from? That's a stupid question and you know it.” - you
“Yeah, sorry.” - Joe looked down at his feet
There were a few seconds of silence before Joe looked back to me.
“I’m gonna go now, or else I'll be late.” - Joe
“Okay, c’mere give me a kiss.” - you
Bending down once again, Joe pressed little pecks on my lips over and over again before pulling away.
“Love you.” - Joe smiled
“Thanks.” - you
“y/n… I’m your husband. Why won't you say it back?” - Joe
“Say what back?” - you
“Don't play dumb. Every time I say I love you, you completely dodge it. What’s that about? If I did something tell me. Please.” - Joe
“Dont know what you're talking about.” - you
Joe’s jaw clenched up and he looked at his two boys who were by now watching him and I instead of their show.
“Hey guys can you go upstairs so Mommy and Daddy can talk?” - Joe
Oh shit.
The boys nodded and eventually went upstairs to their room. Once Joe saw their little frames disappear he turned back to me, his nostrils were flared and he looked mad.
“y/n, what the fuck did I do? It's not our anniversary, you're not on your period, we were literally cuddling an hour ago, and you are kissing me like nothing is up. Why won't you say you love me? It's fucking me up like hell, y/n.” - Joe
I stood up abruptly and wrapped my arms around him, pressing my face into his neck.
“If this is a joke- I swear to literal God.” - Joe
“I'm so sorry Joe. It was just a little prank but I took it way too far, please don't be mad at me. I seriously didn't intend to get you this worked up. I didn't know it'd mess with you like that.” - you
He stayed silent and I moved my head to his chest, his heart was beating unhealthy fast.
“Joe? Baby, are you okay? Your heart is beating really really fast.” - you
I looked up at him as I rubbed his back with one hand, the other rubbed over his heart. Joe was looking straight ahead at the wall, trying to not acknowledge me.
“Say it.” - Joe
“Say wha-” - you
“Say it.” - Joe looked at you
I moved my hands to cup his cheeks and placed a huge kiss on his lips.
“I love you. I love you so much, Joe. I love you more than anything.” - you
“Thanks.” - Joe smirked
“You ass!” - you shoved him as he laughed
We eventually stopped laughing and pulled each other into a hug.
“I love you.” - you
“I love you too.” - Joe smiled and kissed you
Joe and I kept kissing as our hands started to roam over each other’s bodies. Though I protested, Joe pulled away eventually and pulled his phone out of his pocket.
“What are you doing?” - you
“Texting Sam and saying something came up last minute.” - Joe
I smiled and came up with a quick response.
“Oh, something def came up.” - you held eye contact with Joe before flicking your gaze down to his crotch
“Now you're in trouble.” - Joe
He tossed his phone onto the couch and picked me up bridal-style, running to the stairs as we both giggled.
I really loved Joe with my whole heart.

Genuine question; In the most recent molecast there was a bit where you and Penny briefly made fun of the WB "these depictions were wrong then and wrong today" racism warning. I've seen this sentiment going around lately, though it seemed well received back when it first came around. I'm just wondering where the turnaround came from? Obviously racism shouldn't be endorsed, but is that not the point of the message? Isn't a company admitting fault in that way at least a little better than erasing history and pretending to always have been squeaky clean? Is there a level of problematic beyond which critical engagement is no longer possible? You always seem level headed about these things so I was hoping you could elaborate
the mention of the WB title card was not in mocking the title card.
by bringing it up in reference to halloweentown, we were instead telling the hyperbole-based joke that this 1998 disney channel movie's use of ghost stereotypes warranted the same forewarning that a racist cartoon made in the 50s did.

Tumblr media
Armando watched his mother walk away, the clicking of her heels hitting the floor fading away in the distance. For a moment he was stuck in place, feeling uneasy about this entire thing. He understood her wanting revenge against those who'd put her in jail. but who was this detective to her? His name wasn't on any files, and she seemed to hate him the most.
Taking a few steps towards the window, he pulled out his phone to call the only person he truly ever spoke to outside of the cartel.
"Hello." Her soft voice filled his ears. "Hey, I didn't wake you up did I?" He laughed a bit once she informed him that he had but that it was ok. "I was just taking a nap, but I like talking to you, what's up?" He loved that about her, how she was always there for him and was willing to wake up from her beloved naps just to speak with him.
"I-uh. I'll be honest baby. I've been up to some bad shit lately." He confessed, as far his she knew, he was a banker here in Mexico. Unbeknownst to her, her distant love was a walking weapon. "Bad shit? Like what? Letting people cash bad checks?" She snorted with laughter, and he could practically picture her pushing her glasses up the bridge of her nose while doing so. "Very funny, y/n. But no. Seriously, I've been up to some shit here that I can't explain right now, but I will when I see you." He sighed, hoping that he actually got the opportunity to after tonight. There was all too real possibility that he may not make it out alive. "All I can say right now is that something's not right here, so the first chance I get I'm coming to you. "
Y/n sat up, now concerned at the seriousness of his tone. "Armando, seriously, what's going on? Is everything ok? I can come down there if you need me to." "No!" She was met with his immediate rejection. "Do not, and I mean under any circumstances do not come down here, y/n. Stay where you are, and I'll come to you. I'll explain everything and if you'll still have me after I tell you the truth, I'll never leave." Her end was silent.
His eyebrows furrowed together; one hand shoved into his pocket trying his best to control his nerves before she finally spoke. "I don't like this, Armando; you sound scared and that makes me scared. Just please, come back to me in one piece." Her concern for him was truly the only driving force he needed to survive; he couldn't leave her on this earth without him.
"I may have a few bumps and bruises." His strained laughter was an attempt to lighten the somber mood. "But I'll be in one piece, but if I don't.. Just know, I'll love you forever."
Their mutual sentiment of love was spoken simultaneously but the call ended. Whatever happened tonight, he'd be making it back to her come hell or high water.

Painted in Scarlet and Seafoam/ Buggy x fem reader.
Tumblr media
The waves crashed against the hull of Buggy's floating circus, sending salt spray into the air. You stood on deck, watching as the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange and crimson. Buggy's crew hustled around you, laughing and bickering as they prepared for the night ahead. The distant sound of laughter and music from Buggy's circus echoed in the background, a constant reminder of the madness you had chosen to embrace.
"You! Y/N!" A sharp, familiar voice snapped you out of your reverie.
You turned around to see Buggy himself striding toward you, his colorful costume as ostentatious as ever. His wild blue hair framed his face like a twisted crown, the bright red paint of his nose gleaming under the fading light. Despite the chaotic energy he radiated, there was something almost magnetic about him that drew you in—a paradox of laughter and cruelty wrapped in one outrageous package.
"What are you doing out here?" Buggy demanded, eyes narrowing suspiciously. "Shouldn't you be making yourself useful instead of slacking off?"
"I'm just keeping watch, Captain," you replied calmly, your hand instinctively resting on the hilt of your dagger. You'd been with his crew long enough to know that Buggy valued results over explanations. "In case those Marines get any funny ideas."
Buggy's eyes scanned the horizon, his expression softening ever so slightly. "Right... those idiots wouldn't dare come near me." He cackled, the sound echoing eerily over the waves. But when he turned back to you, his gaze held an intensity that sent a shiver down your spine.
"Still... you better watch your back," he added in a low voice, leaning in so close you could smell the hint of rum on his breath. "I can't have my favorite crewmember getting snatched by some two-bit Marine, now can I?"
You raised an eyebrow, trying to hide your surprise. Buggy wasn't exactly known for his sentimentality. But you'd noticed the way he'd been hovering around you lately—sending you off on fewer dangerous missions, keeping you closer to the ship, and even snapping at anyone who dared insult you.
"Don't worry, Captain," you said, flashing him a grin. "I can handle myself."
Buggy's eyes flicked down to the curve of your lips before darting back up to meet your gaze. For a second, the air between you seemed to sizzle. But then, just as quickly, Buggy pulled back, clearing his throat as though nothing had happened.
"Yeah, well, don't get cocky," he said, his tone sharper than before. "You might be tougher than the rest of these clowns, but you're still just one woman."
You fought the urge to roll your eyes. Buggy's protectiveness was almost suffocating at times, but you'd be lying if you said it didn't warm you somewhere deep inside. After all, the Grand Line was no place for softness or sentiment—yet here was Buggy, the feared pirate clown, making sure you stayed safe.
As you turned to head below deck, you felt a sudden tug on your arm. Before you could react, Buggy's disembodied hand—one of his favorite tricks—had latched onto your wrist. The rest of him stood a few feet away, grinning wickedly.
"Wait," he said, his voice uncharacteristically soft. "I, uh... I've got something for you."
You watched, half amused, half confused, as Buggy's severed hand floated back toward him and retrieved something from his coat pocket. It returned holding a small, delicate trinket—a polished sea glass pendant strung on a leather cord.
Your eyes widened. "Is this... for me?"
Buggy's cheeks darkened, though it was hard to tell with all the makeup. "Don't make a big deal out of it," he grumbled. "I just thought it might... suit you or something. Don't read into it."
You couldn't help the smile tugging at your lips. "Thanks, Buggy. It's... really nice."
"Yeah, yeah, whatever," Buggy muttered, looking away with a huff. "Now get below deck before I change my mind and send you out to swab the whole ship."
You laughed softly, tucking the pendant into your shirt as you turned to leave. But as you walked away, you couldn't shake the feeling of Buggy's eyes lingering on your back, watching you with an intensity that made your heart race.
Later that night, the crew celebrated with wild revelry, laughter, and ale spilling like water. You found yourself in a quiet corner of the ship, away from the chaos, toying with the sea glass pendant. The moonlight glinted off its smooth surface, casting a soft glow.
"Admiring my gift, huh?" Buggy's voice startled you. You turned to find him leaning against the railing, watching you with a smirk.
You shrugged, trying to play it cool. "I was just wondering why you'd give something so... pretty to me."
"Because," Buggy said, stepping closer, his tone low and serious, "if any of those morons out there forget you're mine, I want them to remember."
Your breath hitched as Buggy's face hovered just inches from yours, the scent of salt and spice surrounding you. His eyes were half-lidded, the usual madness tempered by something... softer. His gloved hand brushed a stray lock of hair behind your ear, lingering longer than necessary.
"Buggy..." you began, but whatever you were about to say was cut off when he abruptly pulled away, his usual manic grin snapping back into place.
"Enough chit-chat, Y/N!" he barked, but there was a strange tightness in his voice. "Back to work! Can't have you getting soft on me!"
You watched him storm off, your heart racing in your chest. The Captain was unpredictable, cruel, and utterly insane—but there were moments, like this one, that hinted at something deeper beneath the layers of paint and bravado.
Maybe, just maybe, the infamous Buggy the Clown wasn't as heartless as he wanted everyone to believe.

Masterlist AO3
It's one thing to take their government mandated holidays, as a hunter. It feels wrong, they know they need to take time off. People need breaks. If they don't rest, they fray. As a hunter, being sloppy means letting someone get hurt.
They know that.
Still... they've never been good at taking time off. It was easier with their family around, if Caleb hadn't dragged them home occasionally, they'd have burned themselves out frequently.
Now they just face the disapproving looks of their dear doctor... who is far less enthused, but far too professional to do any dragging.
It's another thing when their favourite captain tells them to go home because they look like shit. Alright, maybe not in that many words, but the sentiment was there. They try to imagine Jenna cursing and while it feels right, they also feel like they've seen something they really shouldn't.
She's right though, they muse. Dark circles, clothing tattering, ache in limbs.
If they'd been asked when they last took a holiday... well they couldn't answer.
Tara nudges them, warm smile on her face, "I'll text you. Go sleep." And with a warm hand on their back, she pushes them towards the door.
They're tempted to look for Xavier to say goodbye for the day, but it's late and he could be anywhere. (Though they're willing to bet he's stolen a break room for a nap.)
Instead they leave the Hunters Association, standing in the street below, staring up at the holiday decorations lining the street. It's cold enough that their teeth chatter...
And they come face to face with the loneliness of being stood here, an empty home and the knowledge that all their loved ones are still busy, working, wrapping everything up.
They could go visit Zayne, but he's got such an important job they don't want to intrude. (The voice in their head that sounds a bit like his tries to remind them they could never intrude.) They could message Xavier, but if he's finally resting they'd had to disturb him. (They never could, he's pleased whenever they spend time with him or join him for a nap.) They could go check in on Rafayel, but he's preparing for an exhibit and they don't want to break his creative flow. (How could they when they're his muse? The reason he found purpose in a paintbrush again.)
Instead they stand and stew and struggle. Internally debating how much they can exist in a space, before a caw snaps them out of their shuddering. Arms wrapped around them through the too thin coat, not at all built for the snow and chill.
Mephie perches on their shoulder, his red eyes gleaming. They're hit with the strange feeling that the robot bird knows and sees far more than he should, before the non metal feathers puff up, snuggling into the crook of their neck.
In seconds all the tense strain in their limbs ease up, and they breathe out a long exhale. "Hey." They manage, forcing their teeth to stop chattering and their smile comes gently.
They're unsure if it's for the birds benefit, or for his owner, but they realise it doesn't matter. Both bring unrivalled comfort.
Their new companion, caws again, tone deaf and glitchy, before clacking his beak at them. Extending his foot, a small message tied to it.
Why Sylus doesn't send them messages in any normal way, they'll never understand. He enjoys phone calls, texts them constantly, but whenever he wants to be dramatic, in flies Mephisto with a letter or a note, on a blaze of feathers and metal.
Gently, they untie it, patting the pretty bird's head as they do so with one hand.
He preens and coos at them happily, glitchy static and very real pleasure at their attention.
'You have time off. I'm booking it for the week.'
They'd question how he knows, but he always seems to know. They should find it creepy, but they've since learned if he doesn't watch their back constantly, people who want them hurt do.
Perhaps they've grown too soft on him, his attentions, his affection, his constantly presence, but they find it more soothing than unnerving.
Still. They would like to know how many ways he's keeping track of them.
If only for the curiousity lurking under their skin, one of the traits he teases them for.
"I guess you're my accompaniment then Mephie?" The bird puffs up, proud and preening, and he looks far too much like his prideful master for a moment for them to not chuckle. As their guide kicks up into the sky, flying off, they follow him a little lighter.

Note
hotch being protective after a bullet grazes Y/N’s ear causing her ear to bleed and to have trouble hearing??
JJ's talking but you're not listening. Well, you're listening, but you're not hearing. There's a dull ringing in your left ear, brought on by the bullet that had whizzed past it hours earlier. The EMTs had let you go with copious amounts of bandages and a warning to stay away from loud noises as much as possible, but here you are on the jet, straining to hear your teammates converse.
"She said she caught Michael drawing on the bathroom wall," A deep voice from beside your right ear startles you, the only clear words you've heard for an hour. Hotch has leaned himself down to hover beside your ear, lips a centimeter away as he fills you in.
"Oh," You breathe, a chuckle lost in the sound, "Thanks."
"Mhm." He nods once, you know from the way his nose grazes your ear. "Does your head hurt?"
"A bit."
"I figured. Ears are sensitive, when we land you should go straight home and sleep. Set your phone to vibrate instead of ring, and stick it under your pillow. Trust me, alarms won't work."
Your brow furrows, "How do you know so much about this?"
"A while ago," Aaron starts, hesitant, "Before you joined. A bomb went off next to me, and it damaged my ear. The only time I've ever been late to work was because I couldn't hear my alarm."
"That and the time you got stabbed," You grumble, "I never knew a bomb went off next to you."
"It's not exactly small talk," He reaches for your hand, using the edge of his short fingernail to scrape dried blood out of the bed of your nail, a remnant from when you'd grasped your ear after the gunshot.
"This job sucks," You sigh, knocking your head against his shoulder. You've caught Rossi's attention, and he offers you a fond smile while you use Hotch as a pillow.
"It has its drawbacks. How's your ear?" Morgan lifts his chin in your direction, and though you've heard him clearly, you decide to tease him.
"What?" You lift your head from Hotch's shoulder, leaning in like you can't hear him. Prentiss snorts, and you double down.
"How's your ear?" Derek taps his own, and you scrunch your nose.
"Huh?"
"Stop," Aaron chuckles, elbowing you in the side. Derek finally catches on amidst his team members giggles, and kicks you softly under the table.
"It's okay," You groan, burying your face in your crossed arms on the table when JJ leans into your side. One of Hotch's large hands comes up to rub against your back in soothing circles, and the tension in your shoulders loosens.
Conversation resumes after a sympathetic moment of silence for you. You aren't roused from your drowsy snooze when the plane lands, unable to hear the rough rumbling of the engine, but Aaron gets close to your ear to let you know you've arrived.
"Y/N," He brushes hair away from your face, hand heavy on your shoulder, "We're here. I got your bag, can you drive?"
"I'm deaf, not blind," You huff, grumpy when awoken, "I can drive."
"Okay," Aaron chuckles, familiar with your post-nap grouchiness, "Here. Your bag is on the table, okay?"
"Mhm," You nod, rubbing sleep from your eyes as he heads for the door, "See you tonight, Aaron."
You don't need to hear him to know that he tells you he loves you when he steps off the jet, but you see the blush on his cheeks just fine when you return the sentiment.
