you know that scene in anastasia where rasputin uses a dreamlike state to try and lure anya to her death. thats vaguely how I interpret the vanny situation. it's not entirely glitchtrap taking over but vanessa herself is certainly not wholly present

This is. Incredibly self-indulgent and requires context.
You are a veteran FazCo employee who worked as a janitor (and eventually dates that location's DCA) when the Glitchtrap virus infects the plex. Unlike the game, this virus affects all the mega pizzaplexes, and it leads to you getting mauled by Moon. You nearly die, the DCA is deactivated and replaced after the virus mysteriously vanishes, and eventually you start working at a new plex, with a new DCA and staff.
After a long and bumpy road, you finally have your DCA's chips installed in a functional animatronic. It's time for a reunion.
Parts and Service still creeps you out, even with the changes the tech team here made. At the very least, you’re allowed to wait in the cylinder instead of outside with everyone else.
You take a peek through the glass, catching Gemma and Anika watching you. Your body locks up, and you manage a stiff little wave before focusing on Sun behind them. Sun isn’t watching you (at least, you’re pretty sure he’s not). Sun’s watching the body on the table. Your turn back to it as well.
It’s another Daycare Attendant unit, currently completely off. The color changing material of the animatronic’s pants and paint sits at a muted, muddy brown color, the light not bright enough to bring out Sun’s colors but too bright for Moon’s. When you touch its faceplate, it’s cold, unmoving. It’s an older model, a spare body for the DCA standing outside. And it currently holds the chip that is your
That is your Sun and Moon.
“Everything good in there?” Gemma’s voice is tinny over the speakers. You nod quickly, giving a thumb’s up. “Okay, I need you to back away for a second. Gotta plug in and give the OS one last check before we power them up.”
“Okay.” You give a reluctant half step back, then another at Gemma’s prompting, retreating closer to the wall and the people outside. Overhead, electricity thrums as the diagnostics and repair tools come online, a cable snaking down to plug into the back of the animatronic’s head. “You’ll warn me when they’re about to be turned on, right?” No answer. “Guys?”
The sounds overhead changes, with a chime sequence signaling that no, you were in fact not being warned ahead of time.. Some pseudo-soothing, corporate beeps that remind you of commercials advertising anti-depressants begin, but when you go to approach the body again, the speaker crackles on.
“Stay right there.”
“But I want—” You’re cut off before you can even turn to face the trio waiting outside.
Anika’s frown is made more severe by scarring distorting her forehead.
“We don’t know how they’re going to react to being woken up for the first time in three years. For them, it’s only been a moment since they shut down, and we don’t really know how that… hey. Don’t look like that. I thought you’d already worked past the guilt.”
“No, I have. But. I.” Another chime sequence has you whipping back around, but there’s no change. You shift so you can keep half an eye on what’s happening while you’re talking to everyone on the outside.
“Sunshine.” Sunny speaks over Anika, leaning forward to take the microphone. “Think about what might happen if they come online and hurt you.”
“It’d be—”
“It’d be an accident, but.” Sunny holds up one long finger, indicating that you should wait. You look back at the table again, but there’s still nothing to indicate what’s going on. “Friend, turn your screen around. They’re going to be fretful unless they know what’s going on.”
“Oh, right. Sorry.” Gemma turns one of the monitors around, showing off a series of progress bars that you don’t know what they mean. She taps the monitor. “Once this hits a hundred percent, they’ll boot up.”
“Thank you.” The lump in your throat eases, just a little. You stare at the little bars slowly working its way up.
“Sunshine.” Sunny catches your attention with his talking-to-children-about-complex-topics voice. “We should stay here until the other attendant wakes up and has a moment to process that they aren’t affected by the virus—and that they’re safe.”
“As safe as they can be in here,” you mumble, and Sunny’s smile widens as he gives a small nod, setting the microphone back on the table. The progress bar fills ever so slowly, and any noise behind you makes you twitch and look back at the animatronic with concern. Your palms itch, suddenly slick, and you wipe at them quickly before shoving them in the pockets of your overalls.
Overalls. You are bringing back your oldest, dearest friend that you’ve not seen in years and you’re wearing the world’s most fucked up, stained overalls. And that does count farmers and mechanics around the world. You take a peek at the progress bar and—how has it jumped up 30% already? It had been dragging just a minute ago! There’s now no way you can slip away into something better, and of course you couldn’t have gone anyway.
The noise from overhead changes, and there’s an error sound, sharp and blunt, followed by the mechanical squeak of the monitor getting jerked back around to Gemma. “Anika, can you grab the thingie?”
“The thingie?”
Gemma gestures vaguely behind her and Sun, who is standing frozen, rays partially retracted as he stares at the table. Anika zips off to find whatever it is Gemma needs, but you’re turning away again, watching as the spare daycare attendant unit twitches.
“Sun?” you ask, stepping closer. The animatronic twitches again, one hand, then a whole leg, spastic and out of control like it’s being electrocuted in bits and pieces. Their rays start to poke out, then snap back into place with an audible click. One gets stuck, tangled up in white and blue fabric. “Moon, Sun, it’s okay,” you say, voice barely audible over their fans starting and immediately going into overdrive. “You’re safe. It’s me.”
“Sunshine!” Sunny’s voice breaks when you are close enough to touch the twitching attendant’s foot.
Your ears pop as the doors open, and you twitch, turning just enough to hold out a hand. “Sunny, it’s okay. I know but… they’re glitching out. I think they’re going to Eclipse.”
“All the more reason to stay away!”
“You stay there if it makes you comfortable, but if they’re Eclipsing…” You turn back in time to catch the rays spring out, a handful caught in the hat, shredding into it. “I’m staying. Sun? Moon?”
There’s no reply from the animatronic, just more twitching and spasming. You want to free the rays from their hat, but this early model has no silicone softening the metal edges. They’re just a bunch of very dull knives and with no consciousness controlling their movements. You settle for touching their shoe instead, feeling the twitching of their actuators. Are they in pain? Can they feel anything at all?
“Hey, be careful in there! I’m unplugging the cords now and sometimes they can be a little whippy.” You grimace, pulling away as far as you could without relinquishing your touch over the moon patch. You give a thumbs up without looking away.
The cords are a little whippy, jerking away from the table and snapping back into the ceiling with such force that it makes them look alive. You hate Parts and Services.
“We’re at ninety percent now. Sunny, if you can step back? We don’t know how they’ll react to another Attendant hovering.”
“Right… right.” Sunny’s voice is closer, and you’re surprised to find he’d crept well inside the cylinder, the distance between the two of you halved. He holds his hands up, retreating back to the door. You stare and he gives a timid little shrug, his faceplate tilted towards the now waking animatronic.
You’ve been around FazCo branded animatronics for ten years now, been in love with one, this one, for almost as long. Even in a new body, even Eclipsed, you know they’re waking from the change in their fans, slowing briefly with a little click clatter click before returning to overdrive. The foot under your hand twitches one last time before stilling and pulling away.
There’s static, climbing up your arm and into your mind as you look up. There’s static there too, a thin, trembling stream from Eclipse’s hidden speakers. They’re staring at you, eyes locked on. You shift, and they shift, ever so slightly, eyes tracking the scars visible on your face.
“Eclipse?” you ask, holding a hand up as they start to answer. “No, it’s okay. I-I am happy to see you. You’re here. You’re safe. You’re both safe, right?”
You have to walk around the table. They still watch you, hands limp at their side until you reach for the nearest one. They flinch away, dragging their hand into their lap, claws catching on the coarse material of their waist ruffle. Once, a long time ago, you’d asked about those claws and Moon had explained they used to play stringed instruments, just like the glamrocks did now.
“You won’t hurt me,” you tell them, taking their hand anyway and squeezing it so hard you can feel a joint in your wrist pop. You toy with one of the claws with your thumb, worrying the little gear that makes it flip back into their fingers, sighing softly. “You didn’t hurt me.”
You look up to see them staring at you, and despite things, you give a little laugh. A wet laugh, something sticking in your throat uncomfortably. “It wasn’t you Moon.”
You don’t know how or when, but a cold hand brushes over the ruined half of your face, stroking the skin just under your eye. It pulls back, metal shiny with tears. You laugh again, hiccuping and holding your free hand up to your face as you force yourself to calm down. “I’m okay. I’m here. You’re here. I missed you so much you big stupid dummy.”
You can’t wait any longer, so you throw yourself at Eclipse, worming your hands under their arms, tucking your face carefully under their faceplate, away from the metal rays. They can’t see you crying like this, but it’s an ugly messy, human thing and their neck ruffle is horrifically itchy. The slow weight of hands on your back make you sob, voice breaking.
There’s a few minutes that are likely very awkward for everyone not currently on or half on the cylinder’s table, but you don’t notice any change until there are claws digging in your back. “Eclipse,” you mumble, lifting your head, but the hands pin you to their torso. “Eclipse, what’s wrong?”
“I-it might be me!” Sunny’s voice trips over itself. “I, we, all of us wanted to make sure you were okay?”
“I’m okay,” you say, a little too softly at first. You feel up for Eclipse’s cheek, stroking it gently. “‘Clips, let me up. Sunny isn’t going to hurt us.”
The hands dig, and you can feel those claws in your skin, but they loosen as you continue to push up. You settle on the table a little awkwardly, perched to avoid hurting Eclipse with your weight. You wipe at your eye, trying to clear your vision, before taking Eclipse’s hand again. “Sorry Sunny. I know things aren’t going as planned but…” You clear your throat, smiling weakly. “Sunny, this is Clips. They Daycare Attendant from my old plex. Eclipse, this is Sunny. He’s the Daycare Attendant here in Sandusky. He uh, he helped convince me it was worth trying to save you.” You hesitate. “He and his Moon went through it too,” you say more softly. Eclipse’s grip tightens on you and Sunny grimaces. “We’ll talk about it later, when everyone’s recovered. Sunny, move.” You gesture and he gives you a confused look before stepping out of the way.
Anika and Gemma are staring through the thick plexi of the cylinder. Gemma’s mouth is hanging open, but Anika looks vaguely smug. You hold up your entwined hands in a wave. “That’s Gemma and Anika. Gemma helped get this body back online and you in it, and Anika helped me save you. We saved you.” Oh, you’re starting to cry again.
“Welcome back to the world of the living.” Gemma’s voice is clipped, and she turns her monitor back to you. You can just barely see some graphs and charts, but the orangey-red lines, and the continued strain of Eclipse’s fans clue you in before Gemma can.
“Oh, oh, Eclipse, you need to restart with just one of you fronting.” You turn back to them, catching them staring at you once again. You twist around to hold their face, stroking over the edge and the craters, finding the large swirl of an eyebrow before you reach their hat. They flinch as you pull at it. “I know. But I’ll stay right here the entire time. I won’t even let go of your hand.”
“Sunshine, that’s—”
“I’m staying right here Sunny,” you say, a little more sharply than you meant to sound, but the intent remains. You don’t look away from Eclipse, leaning forward to press a kiss over the moon’s eye. “I am staying right here. You can restart. I’ll make sure nothing happens to you.”
Eclipse stares, and there’s a long, long minute where you worry they’re going to refuse until they burn out but finally there’s a soft stream of static and a nod. Eclipse leans forward as you pull on their hat, freeing it incrementally from their rays. The light from their eyes dims and goes out, their fans slowing a couple minutes later. You pull the hat free successfully, their hand slipping from yours as you check over the fabric. It’s torn and greasy where it’d gotten caught in the gears, but you can probably fix it, if they want. Or perhaps you’ll be able to get help remaking their old hat, if that’s what they preferred.
“Is everything all right?” Sunny’s voice is quiet, and his hand is soft as it rests on your shoulder. You twitch but don’t pull away, watching your attendant’s faceplate intently for any flicker of light. “They’ll turn on again.”
“I know they will. But will they be able to let go? It’s got to be Moon, I think. It’s always been more willing to take control.” Sunny’s gentle verbal prodding compels you to continue. “Sun’s a softie, even if she does have a spine about the rules, her rules. The ones that are important to her. She tried so hard…” You trail off into a cough, swallowing back the lump wrong and making it worse on yourself. You have to wipe at your eyes again, sniffing hard. “But if Moon is scared or upset, they might Eclipse again.”
The startup is quieter, so you miss it in your talking to Sunny, until you feel more than hear the thrum of the animatronic’s inner workings. Sunny steps back, out of reach, when the rays retract, one at a time, jerkily, like the mechanism controlling them is unfamiliar to the Moon currently in control. Because it’s Moon who is waking up now, and it’s Moon’s gravelly voice that lets out a surprised noise when you immediately push into a hug.
“Starlight?”
The nickname is enough to make you cry again, and you squeeze him so tightly your arms hurt. “I’m here Moony. I’m here. And I’m never leaving you again.”

Posting this here because I just know there's something to this, but I have neither the sanity nor the patience to try to dig into it as a full theory myself: For all the talk of murders, possessions, and everything else in the FNAF franchise, has anyone else noticed that there's a heavily repeated theme of stolen/mistaken identity that keeps coming up? I'm just going to create a list:
In order to commit the original murders in the first place, William disguised himself in the Spring Bonnie suit.
Michael is mistaken for William by Circus Baby and the other animatronics in "Sister Location."
Circus Baby and the other animatronics then steal Michael's skin to parade as him in order to hide as regular people. (In hindsight, if the illusion discs are a thing by that point in the story as some theorize, then what was the point of needing a skinsuit...?)
In "Pizzaria Simulator," Baby was tricked into entering Henry's trap partly because she believed William called her there.
In "Into the Pit," Springtrap takes over as Oswald's dad.
In "To Be Beautiful," Baby/Eleanor steals Sarah's identity.
In The Fourth Closet Series, Baby pretends to be Charlie.
In "Lonely Freddy," the Lonely Freddy toys have been swapping bodies with and taking over the identities of various children.
In "He Told Me Everything" and "The Puppet Carver," Faz-Goo creates clones that sap the life force and steal the identities of its victims.
In "Friendly Face," we have Fazbear Entertainment using animal DNA combined with animatronics to recreate pets, which results in the Jack/Faraday abomination.
We have an animatronic literally called the Mimic who pretends to be Gregory in the Ruin DLC.
The multiple cases of possessions involving the living such as with Glitchtrap's control can even count, as the consciousness of the original people were lost/sealed away.
Even on a meta-level, identities are mixed up and hard to distinguish in the fandom--like Princess Quest's Cassidy/Vanessa debacle, questions about the relationship of Patients 46 and 71, and the various names that fit for characters with similar/matching stories between the books and games,

just found ur gamer girls but its murderous series and i just gotta say amazing work ur making me start to like vanny thank you
WOOO!!!! IM GLAD!!!!! (i am rubbing my hands together in a sinister fashion. my plan to get everyone to like vanny is working)
Vanny is such a fun character fr though. She is so tragic if you really think about it. Like... the concept of a reluctant follower, doing terrible things because you feel like you have no choice (or PHYSICALLY not having a choice if you assume Glitchtrap is taking over Vanessa's body). Isn't there a major implication that Glitchtrap also got her the job at the Pizzaplex? She's trapped with no way out, just going thru the motions until someone helps her out (Gregory in canon, Staff in GGBIM). I have so many emotions about the whole thing. FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDYS IS A TRAGEDY, BABY!!!!

I'm just thinking about how much he physically is suffering, like all the fucking time, I'm pretty sure it's mentioned in a book or hinted at it that he still felt things while springlocked. Like holy shit you survived springlock failure once, was probably in a body cast for months upon months causing weight loss and him not taking care of his teeth, or hair, and not getting decent sleep being in constant pain.
Then he goes through it but permanently.
Permanently.
And he feels those springlocks in his body all the time 24/7 every time he moves, blinks, opens his mouth, or moves a finger.
That's horrible.
Then you get burnt alive multiple times.
No wonder you're out of your mind and have completely fucking lost it.
Not to mention the remnant desperately trying to heal around the twisted and heat-warped metal all the time!!
Every single day his body is trying to mend itself, but every single move he makes completely undoes that progress!!
And I think that if William enjoyed ANY incarnation of himself, it would have been Glitchtrap. His movements weren't hindered anymore, he no longer felt the pain of his physical body, he was free. And I think it shows in the excited movements and carefree dancing we see from Glitchtrap. I don't think it was just an act tbh, why would he NEED to keep up the act once he already had Vanessa right where he wanted her?
He didn't.
He didn't need to keep it up anymore. That dance in the end was for him. Not because it was an act he needed to keep up anymore, but because it was something he could do.
And yes it's frustrating to see so little of him in Security Breach, but it makes sense. His body is trying to come back from the WORST injury yet, he's trying to regrow his ENTIRE BODY, and it probably hurts! It's a process his own remnant can't do on its own, so much so that he needs MORE remnant than he had available. He just can't do it on his own anymore, so of course he's not doing much of anything, he wasn't ready to do anything yet. But of course, once his life was threatened, he reacted exactly as expected. I think all that pain, all that agony keeps him going, because it's the only thing he can still feel anymore. It reminds him that he's still alive.
William is far from done with his life. Giving up is the easy option here, but he has something in mind. He has a goal so meaningful to him that all this pain is worth it. It all cycles back to that devotion I keep talking about. William Afton is the most devoted man you'll ever meet, and that can be a good thing... until his obsession shifts towards revenge.
And I also think a lot of his newfound unhinged behavior is directly because of UCN. Trapping a man like William in a world where failure is the ONLY option does horrible things to his mind. Reliving the same failure over and over again, putting him in a position where he is powerless to the outcome... It's just going to reinforce his need to be in control. It's going to make him want to prove that he is the one in control of everything, no matter the cost, no matter how long it takes.
He's had to have learned an incredible amount of patience after thirty years of sitting in rot and decay...

Okay, I have a complete interpretation and theory in regards to the ending of Fnaf Sb Ruin.
So I’m just gonna lay it out here.
SPOILERS
So based on the fact that Freddy doesn’t have a head, and Vanessa and Gregory aren’t at the Pizzaplex, we now know that the three star ending. Is canon.
In other words, the Burntrap ending..
Is no longer canon.
And the ending where Gregory, Freddy’s head, and Vanessa escape, is now the canon ending.
Probably because of fan service, and because so many people loved that ending.
So now, the Mimic
Why is it here?
How is it here?
Well, here’s my explanation.
The game, is not based off of the Mimic story from the books. Instead, I believe that the story of the Mimic in Fazbear Frights, is actually based on early development of Fnaf Ruin.
So in other words, the writers of Tiger Rock saw what Steel Wool was doing with this character, and decided to take the character along with what it would do, and make an entirely different story with that character.
Now calling it, the Mimic.
But what about the freaky costumes that the Mimic wears?
Well.. I guess that’s just Steel Wool nodding towards the story of the Mimic. I guess they didn’t mind what the writers of the story was doing with this character, and put those costumes in the game as a way of saluting them.
Again, this is just a theory, and I could just be completely wrong.
But back to the theory.
So if the Mimic isn’t from Fazbear Frights, then what’s he doing here?
Well I think, that the Mimic, is actually Glitchtrap.
Let me explain,
- Glitchtrap has lost control of Vanessa after the three-star ending. So now he has to make himself a new body.
- That new body being the Mimic. One that looks more human, one that can mimic voices, and fit into costumes whenever it needs to.
- Vanessa and Gregory eventually realized that Glitchtrap isn’t actually dead, so they create a security system to keep Glitchtrap from escaping.
- Said security system being the blue Glitchtrap that chases Cassie during the game.
Yeah, I think that the blue Glitchtrap is actually the M.X.E.S. Security system that Gregory was talking about.
But why does the security system chase and scare us?
The answer.. is because Steel Wool needed an enemy that looks like Glitchtrap in order to throw off the audience, and make them believe that Gregory is actually trapped. And also, for the sake of the scares, it needed to be scary.
Also, the blue Glitchtrap doesn’t actually kill us during the game, it just blurs our vision when we have the Vanny mask on, and tries to stop us from progressing. And it’s disabled when Cassie frees the Mimic.
But that also alludes as to why the glamrock animatronics are aggressive, if Glitchtrap has no control over the Pizzaplex anymore?
Well, they’re likely still unhinged after everything that happened to them. Freddy’s body no longer has a head, is probably just acting on its own. Monty was lost his shell, and is now an animatronic gremlin, Chica is also gone mad, and has decayed over time.
But the reason why I don’t think M.X.E.S has taken over the animatronics, is because of Roxy.
Roxy still remembers Cassie after all this time, and if she was under the influence of M.X.E.S, then she would probably attack her or hold her hostage in some way. But she doesn’t.
And it’s thankfully wholesome yet heartbreaking.
Roxy is a treasure, I love her.
But now onto the endings, what’s the deal?
Well.. in regards to the elevator ending, it appears that now that Glitchtrap (or the Mimic) is free, Gregory apparently decides to leave Cassie to her death.
Yet there’s still conflicts in amongst the community, some saying that Gregory didn’t do it, and it was the Mimic now regaining control over the Pizzaplex and copying Gregory’s voice.
Regardless of which one it is, there is some slight hope that Cassie is still alive. Because we hear Roxy saying “Cassie” after the credits roll.
Then there’s the Fredbear ending, or as I like to call it, the WTF ending. The only thing I can make of this ending, is Cassie is looking at another illusion, that shows that the three-star ending is the canon ending now, and then the Mimic presumably catches up to her and kills her.
Now, finally, the Scooper ending as people call it. The ending where the Mimic puts on one of the weird costumes, gets picked up by a Scooper, and is killed. That stills leaves a ton of questions like:
How is that scooper there?
How did it locate and destroy the Mimic?
But whatever the answer is, it still destroys the Mimic and the day is supposedly saved.
Woohoo.
The big threat is destroyed and Cassie hopeful finds her way out of the Pizzaplex, because she deserves better.

More AU Concepts and Ideas
:| I have to write these down so I don't forget lol
[Amphibia: Good King Andrias] Andrias is never evil or bad in this AU. He truly cares about getting the girls home. But he is also still aware of the Core and its plans. So to avoid the Core getting its hands on Marcy or any of the other girls, he keeps it a secret and helps the humans and their friends recharge the gems and even helps Marcy understand why they can’t truly stay there. In the end, the Core eventually gets a hold of the Calamity Box and uses it to escape to Earth and try and take over. Andrias confronts the Core himself but gets badly wounded, revealing his cyborg body. Eventually he explains what happened and helps the girls gain the power of the gems, even being able to retake the Calamity Box from the Core and use it to do so. In the end he is able to help stop the invasion and banish the Core forever using old Amphibia magic. He helps establish a permanent portal so the girls can go to and from Amphibia as they please. He also steps down from the throne and goes to farming.
[Amphibia/FNaF Fusion] Vanessa, Micheal, and Charlie take the place of the Calamity Trio, different eras of Animatronics are the different Frog species (Frogs=Classic, Toys, Withered/ Toads=Phantoms, Nightmares, Scraps/ Newts=Funtimes, Glamrocks, Rockstars), the Core is Glitchtrap, and the Calamity Box is called the Remnant Chest. The story is pretty much just Amphibia’s but maybe with minor changes. Ah yes, two trauma fandoms brought into one. MMMMMMM.
[Owl House: Good Odelia] Odelia is actually a very caring and understanding mother, which allows the Blight Twins and Amity to grow up to be more like what we know of them after their interactions with Luz. Odelia often visits the Owl House, motherly instinct wanting to see how Luz and Amity are doing as girlfriends. She also would be there to help try and stop Belos. And (for a fun twist) be there with Amity and the rest of Hexsqaud when the Collector appeared and sent them all to the Human Realm, now including Odelia. So Hexsquad now has an adult representative to help in their trials and errors in the human realm.
[Star Wars: The Stasis Base] Ashoka is approached by her old mentor Plo Koon to be part of a special and secret mission… only known to Plo Koon, Bo Katan, and Padme Amidala. Plo Koon has increasingly grown suspicious of Chancellor Palpatine, the supposed Inhibitor Chips, and the increasingly friendly actions towards Anakin. So he extended a hand to Bo Katan and Padme Amidala explaining the situation and telling Bo Katan if she helped he’d help her. Now with Ashoka on board, Plo Koon reveals a secret base hidden on Kamino, avoided from all Kaminoain and Republic and even Jedi records. The base holds over two legions worth of Stasis pods. So the plan is to secretly recruit clones to go into stasis in case the Chancellor indeed pulls a move. And so the deed is done, and Bo Katan hires some of her Mandalorian allies to help guard the base alongside some clones who have had their chips removed. Spoiler alert: The asleep clones are awakened by the Rebel Alliance to deal with the Empire.

I’m pretty sure the Mimic in the books HAS to be based off of SB.
Otherwise, it just makes no sense of the Mimic is here, because of the books.
Not only would it screw up everything that happened with Glitchtrap, but it would also make no sense with the timeline of the game.
Because in the books, Gregory lures people down to where the Mimic is. But that doesn’t happen in SB, because the ‘Gregory’ that we’ve been following is actually the Mimic copying his voice.
Gregory clearly doesn’t want Cassie down there, he just wants to get her out.
So I’m pretty sure that the book authors got the idea for the Mimic from the game.
And here’s my take on the ending.
Glitchtrap no longer has a slave to control to build his new body, so he decides to ditch the Burntrap body since Vanessa would probably tell and warn people about it.
Thus, he somehow builds the Mimic body, but he still needs to ensure that someone comes down to let him out.
So he chases and programs the animatronics to hunt down Cassie, in order to make it seem like Gregory is actually trapped down there.
But all of this is just a stage, for Cassie to believe that Gregory is in danger, and therefore to come down to the sinkhole and let Glitchtrap (in his new body) out.
As for why Glitchtrap appears to be suddenly sucked back into the computer at the end where we first see the Mimic…
I guess it’s just him acting like he’s been defeated. So Cassie goes to find ‘Gregory’ and help him get out. Then Cassie sees Glitchtrap in his brand new body, the Mimic, and now Glitchtrap has to kill her otherwise the public will find out and stuff gets messy.
So yeah, I’m pretty sure the books took the idea for the Mimic from the game, because it makes no sense to do it the other way around.
it HAS to be. it wouldnt be the first time fnaf released something early (looking at you Circus animatronics, but that's funko). if the book people really did release this early and let so much lore loose in their book they kind of ruined it not gonna lie. they didnt just use their information and make something out of it they just straight up wrote the exact villain out for us all to see. kinda sucks
and that purple rabbit isnt glitchtrap, I'm pretty sure its just the security system in M.X.E.S. it was trying to stop you because you were deactivating the security to let the mimic out, but remember 'gregory' had the ability to cause it to be shut away for a little while. I imagine that's what the mimic did
I do think glitchtrap and the mimic are one and the same. the mimic could have just been mimicking Afton this whole time and still taken control over vanessa. when you think about it this is the same exact story just with a different villain but same role

The investigation report with the earliest timestamp. Documentation of prior events must have been made by someone other than Sylvia.
With the details of Gregory's 'visions' analysed by Cassey, team A's first objective becomes recovering Freddy's body before William can get to it.
Note:
Sylvia was the guard at the Pizzaplex the night Gregory got locked behind and was the last human guard.
Ness was the one posessed by Glitchtrap.
Gregory is possessed by Evan Afton who is a deceased US army soldier and the 1983 bite victim.

Investigation report: 12 AM, sector codename: Lazer Ace.
Our first port of call was Fazerblast. Our intention was to locate what remained of Freddy so we could begin repairs.
Instead, we were ambushed by Glitchtrap, who stood in the window of the control room and used the same staffbot control panel that she had apparently used on that day.
He said "Disassemble Vanny."
At first, we hoped that the staffbots wouldn't recognize her as Vanny, as she had dyed her hair back to its natural colour and was wearing her own form of the EMP rabbit costume with her jacket over the top of it, but the staffbots headed straight towards us, so they clearly knew she was one of us.
We wound up at a chokepoint on one of the bridges, and we attempted to hold out there. Vanessa (aka, Ness, the one William calls 'Vanny') took the first swing, but the staffbots managed to block it and grab her bat. Cassey managed to snatch the bat back as the bots only seemed to care about getting to Ness, and then begun whacking the staffbots away and off the bridge. I helped on Cassey's side of the bridge using my baton. Mike was on the other end of the bridge, using dual pistols.
Ness told Gregory to go up to the control room, as he's the only one small enough to slip by the staffbots unnoticed. The kid is too small to fight, and as laser weapons can only stun the bots for so long, it's better for him to help end the fight with the panel rather than attempting the total destruction of all staffbots.
Gregory then ran off into the maintenance tunnels. Luckily, I had already given him a few pointers on staffbot commands and thier priority a few days prior to this raid, so he knows the main commands and the format, so should be able to get the bots off of Ness as soon as he gets there.
We had to keep batting off the staffbots, and didn't even have time to see one fall off the bridge and shatter on the floor below before another would take its place.
Whacking machines is taxing on the body, and Cass was the first to fall. They just pushed her to the side, and she was sent flying into the lower section of the arena. She survived, which was expected as the fall is only six feet, but there was no way she'd be able to get back through to here with the massive crowd of bots.
Mike was the next to fall. But he didn't fall off the bridge. They tried to drag him out of thier way, he dodged, but due to the tight space, he tripped whilst trying to remain on the bridge. Whilst he did succeed, he was stuck on the ground as he didn't have the time to get back up. Despite this, he kept shooting at the bots, as having them deactivate and fall was the only defense he was capable of providing now, but we were losing ground fast. Each time he reloaded, the bots inched closer inched in closer.
That left us vulnerable on one side and me on the other.
I did see Gregory run across the maintenance catwalks before I fell too. And I fell completely off.
I didn't see much, but I did hear her scream before the tannoy went off - a sign that he had hit the control panel.
"Apprehended Vanny."
The highest priority command word with the only valid target he knew.
He didn't seem to want to take any risks with this. Smart kid.
He jumped down, looking like he was about to puke, and I ran back up to the bridge to dismiss the staffbots, as the apprehended command can be dismissed by security, unlike disassemble, which requires a senior technician. Now that the panel was under Gregory's control, we should be safe. And whilst Ness was alive, she was not in any good shape.
If it wasn't for her crying and heavy breathing, I'd have thought she was dead.
There was so much blood running out onto the floor below this mesh bridge, and her intestines were on show through a large gash in her gut. One of the staffbots had already tried to take a handful; Gregory had called them off just in the nick of time, it seemed.
Mike was already administering first aid, as whilst they had tore her skin badly and heavily dislocated her arm, she was alive and nothing had been torn out yet.
I tended to Cassey, who just had a minor head injury and bruising from the fall. She also seems to have dislocated her wrist, and she says she's dizzy. That's pretty concerning, but we'll have Dr May S. deal with that later.
Gregory said that he saw Freddy's body in the maintenance tunnels. It must have been dragged there by something some time between us all leaving that day and now, but as I went to retrieve it, we were ambushed again. Endos this time.
I immediately returned to the group empty handed and kept an eye on the door they were pouring out of, yet they were pouring out of every door in this place.
We moved in a circle, trying to get to the elevator, but we were quickly surrounded again. Endos don't have command controls like staffbots, but who needs a disassemble command when they'll strangle someone to death anyway.
We could have stood a chance if there were more of us and we were all in fighting shape, but as it stood, only three of us were in any shape to fight, one of whom was incredibly dizzy.
Glitchtrap manifested again, demanding we hand over either "Vanny, Gregory, or Vanessa".
He called Ness 'Vanny' and called me 'Vanessa'. Figures that a man like that would use those identities for us.
Being the least injured aside from Gregory and Mike, I handed myself over on the condition that he would make the endos fall back and not attack.
Everyone was quite surprised that I of all people didn't try and fight back, but the endos are strong; I know that better than anyone and have the scars around my neck to prove it, and even though I could take twenty of them, we are still vastly outnumbered. To boot, Glitchtrap is a non-physical entity. We had to play along this time.
As promised, he called off the endos. "A deals a deal" he said (businessman habits die harder than he does thankfully).
I must have blacked out as I woke up in parts and services.
In the cylinder.
Two things were instantly off; my right arm was tied down to the side that is on the left if you stood in front of it, and I was just left limp hanging off the side of the chair. Not even in the chair, I was at the side.
From the machinery aimed at my arm, I figured it was because he needed a certain angle.
A needle shot into my arm, and I'll level with you, it was agony.
I did grab the machinery with my free hand and did attempt to drag it away, but it tore a slice into my arm and I started to bleed out. Fast. And whatever the hell substance it was injecting me with got everywhere.
I suspect the substance to be remnant or an adjacent substance to remnant.
Glitchtrap was at the controls and cussing me out, sounding more like a mad CEO scientist than a mascot, but I didn't listen.
I heard footsteps that seemed to be coming from the elevators that go to rockstar row, and Glitchtrap just left.
When both the rest of A team showed up with the whole of B team and C team, I was pretty relived.
The head of the hurricane paranormal department (John), an engineer (Charlie), a mechanic (PT), and Mike had to force the cylinder open to get me out, the first three being the muscle and Mike being there to try and get Frederico (the ghost who possesses him, Note: Frederico is mostly dormant unless requested to aid) to unlock the mechanisms to help force the door up faster. Meanwhile, Fritz was trying his best to get the machinery to stop, but it was me pushing it away that made it break and go limp first. He was pretty close though, but snapping the arm was faster. His hacking did stop the limp machinery from squirming though.
They were relived to see me alive, but less relived to know that the hallucinations of the ginger girl had started again.
Dr May S. had already patched up Ness, and as she patched up my arm and took samples of the black gunk that the machine was injecting, I explained what little I remembered, and of all people, Gregory spoke up.
Gregory had never seen Evan to appear as a soldier; he saw a small brown haired boy, and it was apparently after he started lingering around the Pizzaplex which was when Evan went from being a hallucination of a sobbing boy to acting as a guide for him. He muttered something about what happened to my arm being the same as what happened to his eye, but he didn't elaborate with anything other than "You already know. If you don't, I'll show you later."
Even though I'm not entirely sure of my deductions, I think I know what's going on. I'm not even posessed and I've seen Evan manifest as a soldier, and I don't want to think that such a thing can happen to a child, but I think that remnant must be involved with whatever happened to his eye. I remember an incident, another one related to the comatose man with the dog bites. An incident before the man was sent into his coma: his son was kidnapped, and when he said 'I just want to see my son safe again', he panicked as if he had said something wrong, but the next day, he called in and said that his dog had found the kid and brought him back alive and safe. I don't know what happened to the kid during his involuntary time away from home, but I know that one of the kid's eyes was incredibly bloodshot. More bloodshot than what crying would cause. That must be what he was on about.
Ness has already informed Luis as to what happened in the atrium with the staff panel and what happened in Fazerblast, and his reaction was, and I quote from Mike here, that he "gave Ness and Gregory the biggest hug I've ever seen", and he's seen some big hugs.
Also we've got confirmation from Dr May S. That the substance was indeed remnant adjacent: remnant but without the molten metal holding it together, so more volatile but less fatal. It was mostly blank (thank fuck), containing traces of a ghost that's over thirty years dead, was between three and ten years old at the time of death (the stuffs old, getting even this info from such a sample is nigh impossible), and female. If anything, it's more concrete proof as to the identity of the hallucination girl, and just the proof I needed.
But that alone won't make her leave me alone. I don't think anything will.
I'll add a copy of these notes to that file once we get out of here. And, I'm genuinely surprised that I can still write in this state.
It's only half 12 right now, and all we've done is get injured, but we know where Freddy is and that Glitchtrap is now clutching at straws to get us. As Gregory predicted, he's likely protecting the body that he forced Ness as Vanny to revive.
We're here to find it and destroy it.

okokok. i am not entirely sure i have ever seen you talk about this and how dividing the books all are is fascinating to me so... what's the opinion on the novel trilogy, or even frights/tales if you're willing to touch that w/ a ten foot pole --scrappedbaby
I feel like this is a pretty controversial take but I think the Silver Eyes itself is… fine. Okay, I tried to actually read it once and I couldn't get more than a couple pages in, because it read like when someone posts their homework assignment that was secretly fanfiction on fanfiction dot net. I have a little bit of a soft spot for the graphic novel, actually, due to it being bad in an interesting way rather than blandly decent like the other 2, which I've only flipped through. (Also the shitty saturated coloring fucked over the inks. Setting aside any opinions of the artist as a person, i think her style has character and added something to the series that is still present in other parts I like much better, like the glamrock concepts. And the muted test pages that someone scrounged up from a trade show copy or whatever would have probably done wonders for the atmosphere.)
As for the story of TSE itself… Idk, I think it's kind of funny that it's Stephen King's IT for fourth graders. Also, because it's aimed at that demographic, they had to conjure a young protagonist from somewhere, and I think the concept is pretty solid, and Charlie's a good character, and I'm also fond of what a little freak Dave-era William is. That's really my favorite concept of the villain motivation in the series, actually: creating this twisted little dollhouse to go sit in and pretend to be a robot. The immortality/mad science/lich/trancendance from the flesh thing is… it's fine. I made my peace with it. But it's a little too Herbert West for my tastes. (Also like… this is why I like Glitchtrap. He's kind of doing the same thing, making is little diorama and reliving his glory days.) All in all, for what it is, a solid 7/10, imo.
As for the rest of the trilogy……. ah, it's not for me. Like I said, I've flipped through the graphic novels a bit, and own them secondhand as curiosity pieces/weird little relics, but it seems like it gets up its own ass to cater to people who like lore (a separate but related demographic as people who like the horror part of the games, in my 100% honest opinion). I hear about the illusion disks and I am austin walker's iconic "do you ever see a take so bad you immediately have to go to sleep?' tweet.
As for Fazbear Frights: I'm not gonna lie, i think it's pretty good. I feel so fondly about the ghostwritten chapterbooks of my youth (I was a Babysitter's Club and Animorphs girlie, and weirdly… not an inaccurate cross-section for Fazbear's Frights), and I think it's perfectly fine to play around in the universe and create a bunch of AUs and related concepts. Is there criticism to be had of the stories themselves? SURE. They're very weak on diversity, QUITE fatphobic at times, and some of them are unnecessarily ghoulish, though there's only so much disgust I can muster for undeserved child death in the child death series… NONE of them deserve it, even the ones that are mean to their siblings or too vain or whatever, and the fact that it's equally likely for any given story to end in brutal death or "wow I really learned my lesson!" is actually pretty fun. Reminds me of Goosebumps a bit (though I was never a huge fan. Too easily creeped. That was my brother's preferred ghostwritten series though, so I sampled here and there. I also somehow had my hands on a novelization of one of the Tales from the Crypt movies too, and that made a big impression).
I don't love that FF takes every fan theory and milks it, and I'm sure the process for actual production has some ethical problems based on everything I know about the industry. But I do firmly believe that a little body horror is good for the youths, and just making it a multiverse rather than sticking to any one canonical thread lets you have your animatronic rabbit and wear it too, as it were. I also kind of like the lower middle class vibe that the series has… There's very frequently a sense of economic desperation and cheap escapism that resonates so well with the games, and reminds me of how going to Chuck E Cheese truly was the marquee birthday activity of my youth (though I liked the arcade more than the animatronics as a wee millenial).
Part of my fondness for FF is just that I had 2 months during late quarantine where I would buy a copy of the next one I hadn't read while I was doing my weekly grocery/target run and ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ELSE OUTSIDE OF MY HOME, and I would read these very unchallenging short stories and be like "I liked that one! …I did NOT care for that one" and it was a little pumpkin full of meat to chew on in my cage. I stopped it pretty abruptly when the proof of Scott's Republican political donations came out (I mostly do not buy any new fnaf items now, though I have ended up doing it here and there, and I mostly class it on the scale of like, buying Overwatch microtransactions even though activision blizzard is a shitty abusive company or smth. Not a moral good, but not on a "funding a person actively involved in politically crushing trans people" level of problematic).
As for the stories themselves, I liked Into The Pit (it really reads like a reused movie script, but in a good way), Count The Ways (a friend of mine, iirc, did NOT like the two non-title stories in vol 1, but I have a soft spot for Funtime Freddy's villain era in that one, and Millie's safe and self-inflicted teenage self pity reads as an affectionate self-callout to me), Out of Stock (this one's just so CLASSIC kiddie horror and also a really good use of an otherwise forgettable part of canon), Room for One More (another good use of forgettable parts of canon, i think the series really shines when it clicks into stuff like that), Coming Home (the jewel of the series, and gets me in the Sixth Sense nostalgia too), Bunny Call (mostly forgettable obvious moral lesson story with a surprising twist of poignency in the middle and an iconic antagonist), The Man in Room 1280 (I wish this was better utilized in the game series, it feels like Security Breach juked around this concept for a much worse and dumber version, and also Andrew is my special little bastard child), and The Real Jake (a sweet, if maybe a bit maudlin, exporation of the deeper concepts in the lore that is solidly a cut above the average FF story, and i like the stitchwraith parts of the books too).
There's none that I have a huge hate-on for, though I thought 1:35 am in particular was VERY bad (I skimmed the last half). While it's notorious, to me, In The Flesh is just dorky, particularly fatphobic and I don't know how everyone is getting MatPat from it. Mat's persona is kind of smug, but not cruel and hateful towards women or a shitty friend (if anything, his peers speak SO warmly of him that makes me give him more credit than he deserves as a cc), and you'd think a real hit piece on him would involve... a theory. A G A M E theory. Okay, I did it the legally required time.
I stopped at Book #6 and i'm not sure if i'll ever go back. I just got a library card so maybe I'll get around to it the next time i'm sucked into the franchise, but for the most part, I'm dormant except for things I really adore about the series (Springtrap, the Funtimes, Afton Family Drama in general, nostalgia for the first few games, etc), so I can't muster up too many more opinions on middle reader books as a 34-year-old. Tales has no appeal to me even as a future "maybe if the fixation hits hard" option, because a bunch of satellite stories around a setting that couldn't muster a third act in the tentpole game is just. Sad.

Return to the Daycare
Also on Ao3
Masterlist
Summary: Authorization denied, Return to the Daycare.
Just Sun, stuck in the flames, watching his home burn... alone.
Author’s note: This might become a series, but I really just wanted to write a bit of tragedy. Or what seems like a tragedy at least.
You know how in Sister Location they had Controlled Shocks for misbehaving animatronics?
...Yeah
Pairings: Moon/Sun! They're not siblings and I see them as two separate animatronics who just share the same body.
Warnings: This is Hurt No Comfort and a bit Whumpy. Fire, body horror (but they're robots so...), the glitchtrap virus, Fnaf SB Spoilers (kinda), Controlled shocks, Angst, blood and techincally Character Death! (Moon kinda uses bad language too). Protect yourselves!
Word Count: 4643
—————————————————-
The lights were off.
When Sun woke up, he isn't sure what exactly he was expecting. Maybe the happy bounce of the Daycare music or the lights blinding him from above, but what he's facing is… much worse. The lights are off and there’s no bouncing playful music. A smog of grayish black covers the air and the room is abnormally hot, enough that there are red flashing words on his UI letting him know that his system temperatures are increasing higher than they should be. With a click, his vision reboots and he sits up from where he’s laying flat on the playmats– The reason he is out looming over him.
Fire flares at the daycare entrance, growing at a rapid rate that has Sun freezing at the sight. It was bright, lighting up the whole area in an orange hue that would have been beautiful in any other circumstance. It burns at the walls and nearly reaches the second floor of the Mega Pizzapex, threatening to tear the place down and take everything inside with it. What had happened when he entered rest mode? All he remembers was switching out with Moon about two hours after that little rulebreaker had been banned from the daycare. Did the child cause this? But how?! Is the little ray okay? Safe?
Panic shoots through Sun and he jumps up, looking around even as his joints squeak and groan in protest. Fire! What’s the fire procedure? Sure there’s tucking and rolling, but he’s not on fire! Moon would know this, but he has no way of contacting Moon right now! The fire extinguisher! Of course! Sun whips around and rushes to the security desk, pausing and twitching. He isn’t supposed to be back there, it’s against the rules! There are no humans to go back there for him, but then again there is a fire! Oh, fudge-buckets!
Sun shakes his hands, overwhelmed, before diving behind the security desk and looking around until he spots the red metal shine. He picks it up with a triumphant squee and turns around to look at the approaching fire. It had started to eat its way at the rope on the walls, the ones he often has to pick the kiddos off of because they challenged each other to see who could climb the highest. They could get very hurt!
Sun rushes over to the fire and looks over the extinguisher, a quick search lets him know just how to use it and he pulls the pin out, squeezing the trigger and watching with fascination as the white substance sprayed out and over the fire. Sun hurries around, spraying it desperately, hoping that this could fix the whole pizzaplex in one go, like in one of the many stories he would read to the kids! Oh, those stories where one knight takes down a dragon by himself, or when one little duckling saves her whole family from the evils of an alligator! But as the fire starts to consume more of the rope, he feels the pit behind his chest plate expand and sink until it makes him drop the now empty tank. This isn’t a fairytale, this isn’t a knight against a dragon. This is a fire, devouring his home bit by bit.
He needs to leave.
Sun turns on his heel and rushes to the slide just above the ball pit that leads out to the other entrance of the Superstar Daycare. It’s another exit, another escape. Though it doesn’t take long for him to realize why leaving isn’t a choice.
Authorization denied, Return to the Daycare.
Sun’s body locks up, making him wheeze through his vents as he slides down and back into the ball pit. Once back properly inside, his body unlocks and he vents like he needs to breathe, air forced out of his system. Sun looks up into the dark caverns of the slide and tries again, pushing himself up and into the passage.
Authorization denied, Return to the Daycare.
A static sob escapes from Sun as he’s forced back down into the ball pit, this time an electric shock zapping through his system as a warning. He lays his face down and shakes, whimpering as dread washes over him. He can’t leave, not without burning, not without being forced to shut down a foot away from freedom. Without authorization or Moon, he isn’t allowed to escape the Daycare.
A loud crash meets his auditory system and he turns to watch as part of the second-floor collapses and crashes to the ground, crushing a security bot underneath it. The fire rises higher, a giant bright maw ready to engulf him and everything he has.
So, Sunrise stands and turns to the balcony that holds his and Moon’s makeshift room. The cord swings over once he calls it, allowing it to hook to his back before raising him up into the air and dropping him onto the balcony. He turns and stares out onto his kingdom, his small slice of heaven going up in flames in front of him. If only Moon was here– he wouldn’t feel so alone right now. He lets the scene glaze over as his mind drifts a bit.
Sun was for playtime– He had the energy for the kids, the big smile and happy attitude, and the large imagination for making things up on the spot. He was made to be like a kid, but still, be mature enough to tell them to follow the rules and keep them safe.
Then there was Moon. Sun loved Moon, even if he hasn’t been able to meet the animatronic formally, but from what he heard about Moon and what he saw through his visual feed, the animatronic was perfect. He was soft, with a pleasant and soothing voice that easily put the kids to rest when it was nap time. Moon was more strict than Sun, he had an easier time focusing and doing the more serious work, which made sense, he was a security bot as well. A security bot couldn’t be as unfocused and flighty as Sun was, but that just meant they complement each other.
When Sun first learned about the other side, he cartwheeled with joy. He had too much energy for naptime! Someone made for it was absolutely perfect! The only issue is that he had no way of connecting with them. Maybe there is a way to talk to them? He didn’t find any in the report log and usually, he was asleep when they were active, maybe they were awake right now, he always feels the other processor working when he was moving around with the kids.
Sunrise scanned around– The children gathered around each other, playing a game of tag while he watched them from on top of a play structure. Other kids were drawing and coloring and some were playing pretend– Ooo, a space adventure! No one needed him at the moment, so maybe this would be a good time. He flaps his hands, trying to think of what to say.
“Hey!” Was that weird? He was talking to himself. Lowering his voice a bit, he pointed his permanent smile at the ground. “Um, hey. I heard that your name was Moondrop?”
He paused a moment, not exactly sure what he was waiting for, though he did feel a sort of shift as if the usual background processor perked up in attention.
“Um, I’m not sure if you can hear me, I usually sleep while you’re out.” He laughs a bit nervously, not sure why he felt so shy all of a sudden.
Well, that’s not true, he knew why. He never got to see any other animatronics nor speak to them. The Glamrocks were big stars and had things to do! The only one he’s talked to is Freddy, but that was during a huge birthday party that rented out the whole daycare! He was nice, but they barely got to talk because of all the kids that arrived that day. Sun had heard there was another called a DJ or something, but like Sun, he couldn’t leave his confined area. So he couldn’t talk to this DJ guy.
Moondrop, however, was here. He could talk to him and stay with him because they’re in the same body! He has a friend that doesn’t leave once the clock hits 10 pm! So it does make a bit of sense that he’s nervous.
“I just thought that, since we’re in the same body, we can be friends! If you want to– of course.” Was he talking too fast? He wasn’t even sure if Moon could hear him right now. He paused, venting out some air hard with his nerves before perking up. There was a soft buzz in the back of his head, something that felt sort of confused, but also sweet, akin to maybe fondness. Sun felt his processors heat up a bit and his rays spun in a quick circle.
“That buzz… is that you?” He asked, pressing his hand to his face plate. The feeling stopped for a moment before another, bigger, feeling of affection was pushed into his mind through their connection. Sun felt himself smile wider, even when that was impossible with his still face plate.
“Well, Moondrop, it’s a pleasure to meet you! I am Sunrise! Though, I prefer if you call me Sun.” He laughs a bit, something inside of him fluttering at the affection sent his way in waves.
He wasn’t sure for sure if he was actually talking to this other animatronic until nap time came along, “Okay friends, grab your blankets and pillows! It’s naptime and time for Mr. Moondrop to come out!”
The kids all scramble around, picking up their own blankets and pillows; Sun walks around, making sure they are sharing and not fighting with each other for specific blankets or stuffed animals. Once all the kids got what they needed, he walked his way over to the light switch, dragging the tip of his finger over the Freddy-shaped button before clicking it. The lights dimmed and Sun relaxed, allowing the swapping code to slide over his own.
A heavy sort of exhaustion pushed over his mind, usually forcing him to sleep while Moondrop took over. It takes effort for him to stay awake, his code twitching as he cuts off the rest mode process.
This is odd. Sun looks out through their eyes– he was still able to see everything and hear everything, but it was a bit more distant. He couldn’t control their body, he couldn’t speak to the kids or feel the rays on his head. It was like he was possessed, or maybe more like he’s the one doing the possessing. He observed the internal space he was in, never having a reason to do so until now. It was filled with 1s and 0s, code moving and buzzing around with what looked like a pliable barrier cutting off part of it from him. The code blocked by this barrier was running faster than his own, it must be Moondrop’s. He’s never seen it before
“Alright little stars, lay down now.”
Sun turned his attention back to the ocular receptors, watching through his own eyes once more. Was that Moondrop’s voice? Deep and raspy, relaxing and pleasant to listen to compared to his own higher pitched and more energetic one. Captivating. Sun pulled closer, watching as the kids listened to Mr. Moondrop, laying down and getting comfortable while he sat in the middle of the sleep circle the kids made. There was a soft click, then a gentle tune played from the area speakers, flowing out and around the daycare, replacing the theme. All the little kids relaxed, holding their stuffed animals while watching the Moon animatronic. Then he started to sing.
It was beautiful. Sun was worried his code would just enter rest mode right then and there from how wonderful the Moon sounded. His singing, much like his voice, was hypnotic, tired, and comforting. It left a shiver going through Sun’s code. Sunrise focused on how he felt and tried to push it forward, hoping that Moondrop could feel it right now. He wasn’t sure, there wasn’t a response, but that makes sense. He’s busy right now.
The singing soon ended and the little rays were all asleep. Sun was overcome with love, he’s never seen them all so relaxed and calm. It was new, he could see the appeal. The Moon animatronic rises up, moving with more grace and focus than Sun had in his whole existence. He saw them rise high into the air after a small clack of metal on metal and soon they were sitting high above the sleeping children, able to watch over all of them with the gentle lull of the lullaby in the background. Sun relaxed, realizing that maybe he should go to sleep now before he was interrupted.
“You stayed up this time,” Sun paused, taking a second too long to realize that Moondrop was talking to him. “I’m very glad you liked my singing.”
Sun’s code buzzed with embarrassment but also joy, glad that he was doing this correctly. He heard the soft chuckle from the Moon animatronic.
“I guess if you introduced yourself, I should too. I am Moondrop, but you can just call me Moon.”
Sun’s eyes flick up, watching the fire crawl close like a predator. The destruction is overwhelming– the ceiling falls apart and crashes down to the ground. The plastic of the mats on the floor melt with ease and the play structures start to wade and bend from the heat. His home falls to ash, joining the growing black collecting on the floor. Sun vents again, fear making everything feel like a burden– The smoke enters his system, ash sticking to the internal walls and starting to collect there. He’ll need a deep cleaning after this.
After this.
“I wish we could talk properly.” Sun spun, hands on his hips as he stared up at the wall of drawings the kids had left behind for them to keep. There was a mix of him and Moon hanging there, they both loved all the little creations the kids made. They had a little area for crafts, origami, and sock puppets, there was even a homemade blanket of Moon that one of the kids, Nina, created after learning to knit from her grandma. They were all small and sweet little presents that they cherished with their whole being.
Sun tilted his head, feeling a wave of mischief being pushed through their connection before he vented in a huff, rolling his fully white eyes.
“No, you are not messing with our code.”
Moon was smart, very smart. Sun doesn’t know how he does it, but the other half always finds loopholes and technicalities in their program. It must be his security code, but he taught himself to do many things like program and small fixes like when one of their panels got disconnected when a kid pulled it off by accident. Not hard to do when they haven’t had an upgrade of any kind in almost a year. Moon says it’s because they’re not important enough to management, or in other words, they’re not Glamrocks. Moon’s blunt and more observant than Sun, then again that made sense with him being a security bot. He pointed out how bullpucky humans were and how unfairly they’ve been treating Sun. The daycare attendant doesn’t really see it himself, but then again, this is what he’s been dealing with for so long, Moon too. That’s probably why he takes things into his own hands so often.
Moon modified his code so he easily ignored the profanity filter installed in them. He took full control of the cameras in the daycare and took the parental locks off of their internet access. Sun didn’t really see the point in most of these, well the cameras made sense actually, but why need to swear? What does Moon need to search that requires him to turn off the locks on their search functions? Sun’s not sure he wants to know honestly.
“I’m sure we can do something else that doesn’t require us completely rewriting our code.” Sun sat down in their nest of pillows and blankets stolen from lost and found or the daycare– Most of them are misprints or patchwork not wanted by anyone else or not missed. His legs cross and he flaps his hands as he thinks. He could feel the way Moon moves around in their shared space, gently caressing his code against Sun’s with a wave of adoration.
“It would be easier if we just had our own bodies, not one we could control at separate times.” He whined, flopping back on a soft Roxanne Wolf pillow with her name spelled “Roxne.” After a long pause, Moon jerked away from their internal cuddling, making Sun hum out loud while trying to feel where he was going. He sent a wave of confusion to Moon, making sure he was alright.
The nighttime animatronic raced to the back of their code, the part that controlled different parts of their systems. From what Sun remembers, it contains the most physical things, sight, sensory, body movement, voice, etc., etc. It was the part that was most affected by their switching; While they both always stayed attached to the auditory or ocular systems, when they changed places, control over the different parts of the body, voice, touch sensors, and all of that swapped to whoever was in the forefront.
Now, what exactly does Moon need back there?
“Moony?” Sun asked after a few minutes of nothing, his hands start wiggling, crossing, and uncrossing as he waited a bit impatiently. Luckily not too long, Moon’s code soon moved back to his, pressing against him reassuringly. Then there was a slight change from somewhere within them.
Sun’s arm went completely limp.
“Uwaah!” Sun yelped, sitting up. “Wha- What happened?”
He tries moving it around, twitching the fingers, picking it up with his other hand only for it to hang limply. Worry overtakes him– A faux numb feeling in his lanky limb. Moon wraps around his code, waves of reassurance and calm pushing to him. It’s okay, don’t panic, it’s alright. Sun relaxed slightly at that, trying to move the arm again.
“What did you do?” Moon’s code shifted around a bit, then he felt the arm starting to move again, though it wasn’t by him. The hand rose and flexed. “Oh, my stars! Are you doing that?!”
Waves of excitement came from Moon and the right hand formed a thumbs up. Sun jumped up. “Oh! I got it!” He rushed to the side of the room, picking up a blue marker and a stack of construction paper. He sat back down and laid the paper on his lap, passing the marker to the right hand. “See if you can write.”
They worked together to uncap the marker then words started to get scribbled across the paper.
I love you, Sunny
Sun backs up as the ball pit below bubbles, the plastic melts and melds together under the heat. His fans kick up to their highest level, trying to cool down his core and displace the debris entering his ventilation system.
He rushes into the backroom with a nest in the middle and an arcade machine off to the side. He looks back, already knowing that the fire was going to catch up quickly and eat through the wall with ease. His metal panels rattle from his shaking, then his eyes look to their nook of children's drawings. Sun leaps over, grabbing as many of the drawings and cherished gifts as he could just so he can cuddle them close.
“Moony?” Sun whispers, sitting with his back against the farthest wall, watching the hole with a dead stare. He isn’t expecting an answer of any sort, he hasn’t gotten one in so… so very long. He can feel Moon’s presence because the AI is always active, but Sun can't get close. There was always a haze of purple surrounding the other– it scratched at his code, clawing to try and grab him in a painful grip. Waves and waves of HateViloenceChasePursueDestroy–
It left him alone.
“I think there’s something wrong.” Sun’s code pulled a bit closer to the front. He just finished his rest cycle, which means Moon just finished his patrol. It's usually so they could switch back, but Sun was happy to give Moon all the time he wanted in control.
What do you mean?
Sun wrote in a sloppy blocky way compared to Moon’s pleasant looped letters. Just another thing that makes Moony that more lovable. He wished he could see him properly.
“Ever since maintenance last week, I feel like I have holes in my memories,” Moon explained, sitting on the top of one of the play structures, notebook on his lap. Sun buzzed with curiosity, pulling up Moon’s memory logs to start going through them. “You’re always asleep during them though, even at odd times.”
There is a block of time tonight where there's no information.
“That’s what I mean. I hope those assholes at Parts & Service didn’t fuck up my logs.”
Language! >:(
Moon laughed a bit, petting his other arm gently while sending waves of apologies to Sun. The Daycare attendant accepted the sensation with open arms.
I can send in a maintenance request.
“Thanks, love. Wish I could kiss your handsome face.” Sun’s code whirled with love, drawing multiple hearts on the notepad and sketching a blushy face with his orange marker. They chat happily throughout the rest of the night, only pausing when Moon has to go out on his regular patrols.
The next time the topic came up, Sun sat in Parts & Service with a red substance dripping down his hands, coating the ribbons on his wrists and the ruffles on his neck. He was frozen, the humans around him making sure to keep a safe distance and the lights on.
“What happened?” He whispered. They didn’t have a notepad or any way to speak, not that they would want to do that in front of the technicians. Moon said that they’ll figure out that he was messing around with things they weren’t supposed to and try to patch it out, and Sun believes him. What he doesn’t get in words, however, he gets in a truckload of fear, panic, and disarray, rising the more Moon tries to non-verbally explain. Sun understands, he woke up to this when he shouldn’t have been asleep. Moon shouldn’t have been in control, but then one of the kids touched the light switch and everything just turned off.
“Did… did you hurt a kid?”
The solemn feeling grew to a numb defeat. Moon wasn’t sure.
The last time Sun communicated with Moon was when he woke up, standing at the light switch. He looked around, seeing a group of children huddled silently in a corner far away from him, staring with clear terror on their faces– The security guard standing in front of them, tremoring with dilated eyes. Sun’s eyes then drift back to the switch, seeing a note covering it with shaky blue handwriting.
KEEP THE LIGHTS ON
Naptime was canceled for a week, then the Daycare was closed until further notice. The kids stopped coming and the lights were never turned off. Sun couldn’t connect with Moon anymore, a wall keeping them separate covered by a purple haze. Anytime he pushed a feeling to the other, all he got back was static and violence. He told the mechanics about this virus, but they didn’t do anything about it. Moon still went out on patrols– at least he thinks so. There were always scraps of broken security bots left in their room and trash all around. Sun kept cleaning it though, every single time. He left notes, hoping that maybe Moon would be able to respond, but they were always ignored and ripped apart. Eventually, Sun gave up.
He was alone.
Sun was alone.
He flinches back, the fire reaching the room he was in and burning away at everything around him. He hears snapping and the next thing he knows he’s falling through the floor. Sun yells, holding onto the papers in his arms with a vice of desperation. His body hits the ground below with a few metal clangs. Many of the drawings fly across the room, catching in the surrounding fire and burning away.
Authorization denied, Return to the Daycare.
“No no no no.” Sun wheezes as his program locks up, trying to force him back the way he came. He’s not sure where he is– the fire was surrounding him in all directions and he never left the daycare to know even if there weren't flames obscuring his vision–
Authorization denied, Return to the Daycare.
His body freezes entirely, trying to follow protocol, but he couldn’t fly and the only way he’s aware of returning back to the daycare was too high for him to climb and get to, surrounded by fire. He’s frozen here, unable to move without a path to follow, and the flames slowly creeping in.
Authorization denied, Return to the Daycare.
“I can’t!!” A sob rips through his voice box, the pitch making it crackle and peak a few times. In response, a painful shock rips through him, a shriek leaving him.
Core temperature is critically high.
He tries to move his body again, but all connections to his movement have been removed because of his rule-breaking. It left him motionless and in pain as the flames licked at his fingers and rays.
It hurt, oh it hurt worse than any of the reprimanding shocks or the hurtful remarks he’s ever received. His voice box works overtime as he shrieks again, the paint and rubber layers on his hands melting away and metal bending under the flames.
Authorization denied, Return to the Daycare.
Another shock runs through his system, forcing his body to spasm in response. His cries get louder, wishing this would somehow go faster. It would be easier if he can just throw himself into the flames or turn himself off, but with the security protocol looping, he can’t touch anything. He can only watch as the fire ate away his arms, leaving the burning endoskeleton underneath. His eyes flicker down, his pants had caught on fire and all his bells had melted to nothing by now, burning and merging painfully with his touch sensors.
Authorization denied, Return to the Daycare.
Core temperature is critically high. Shut Down imminent.
Another scream and more flames and shocks. His face plate was bending and folding in on itself and soon his left eye went out completely– in fact, he can no longer feel the left side of his body. He peaks over the best he can, seeing all that remains of his left arm and leg is boiling metal and puddles of oil– That soon caught on fire as well. There’s a harsh click and his voice box cuts completely.
Cracking then an explosion– the ceiling is falling. It crashes around him and lodges a metal beam right into his abdomen. Though there’s only static as red warnings pop up on what was left of his vision.
Authorization denied, Return–
–Battery level is critic–
–re temperature is critically hi–
–cal damage to–
Sun ignores the text, barely shivering as another shock wracks through him. He uses the last of his energy to push to Moon, ignoring the purple and clawing just to be near him, weak waves of love being sent to his other half. He gets nothing but hate in return.
–denied, Return to the Day–
Shutting Down . . .

FNAF SB: Montgomery and Gregory
The ball fell into the hole as a number 14 glowed in illuminated lights. “Hole in one” he muttered to himself. His joints and gears felt stiff. Almost hurting at times but as a performer he had to keep up his work and make the kids happy. He waltzed over to the hole and picked his ball up to head over to the next hole but stopped when he felt something touch his shoulder pad. He jumped and snarled at them. Only to realize it was only Glamrock Chica. “Hey Chic, sorry about that.”
Chica had her feathered hand over her chest in a way as if grabbing her chest to soothe pounding heart. “Geez Monty, what was that for?” She noticed him rolling his shoulders and stretching his neck. “You ok? You seem tense. Cheese and crackers, your wires are stiff!” Monty only rolled his eyes and shook her hand off his shoulder. “I can’t get tense Chica. I am made of metal. And what do you want? I am busy.” He growled his last sentence to her. Her response was to put her hands on her hips. Almost resembling an annoyed mother. “Don’t get an attitude with me. Vanessa just notified us that she’s bringing Gregory over again to see all of us. That’s why I came here to tell you.” She said with a glare. Monty would admit that she could be scary at times. Sure he was the strongest of the group and argue with Freddy sometimes and fight with Roxanne but there was no way he could take on Chica when she was angry.
Some kind of “mother hen” instincts or something like that. “Sorry momma,” with another roll of his eyes. Chica just shook her head. “Look, just... try to relax and be nice to Gregory when he gets here alright? I don’t want Freddy or Vanessa hassling you later for being rude.” He merely nodded and went back to his golfing. He could feel that Chica was still staring at him. Not out of irritation but in concern over her friend. He could hear her metal feet pound against the fake grass and walk out of his golf course. He rolled his head to stretch his wires and pulled his arms over his head. “Gregory’s coming over huh?”
He would’ve guess that the kid would have stayed away or better yet be terrified of them after what happened but the kid surprised him. He was still shy of them but he was still able to interact with them and play with them. Well most of them. The child was still timid of Montgomery. Maybe it was because the alligator was much more intimidating than the others. He was more of punk, get physical kind of guy, or gator. Taking a look into his room, many people would get an idea of what he was like, or assume what he was like. Taking aim he putted his ball. He wasn’t really the emotional type. Watching it roll towards its goal and once again, another hole in one.
He could feel his gears tensing again. He growled in pain grabbing onto his bicep. “Time for a break.” He grabbed his ball and golf club and went to his green room to relax for a bit. Before he could he heard two voices coming his way. He turned his head over to the left to see the nightguard, Vanessa and Gregory walking together as they were talking. “I am not sure about that Greg. But you can ask them.” Vanessa told them as she ruffled his hair and went off to do her job. Leaving Gregory alone as she called Monty over to watch him. “W-what? Why? Isn’t he your responsibility?” He argued. “You guys entertain kids don’t you? Besides I have to secure the place, be nice to him alright.” And just like that she walked away. He threw his arms in the air and shouted “The hell?!” after her. “Are you serious? Our regular nightguards don’t pull this shit!”
Vanessa shouted as she was a few meters away “I have work to do!” Gregory’s shy demeanor appeared and shyly smiled at Monty. “H-hi Monty.” The animatronic nodded at him. He looked around expecting Freddy or at least Chica to watch him but none of the gang were around. He swore to himself that he’ll get her back for that.
He felt kind of out of place. When he did interact with Gregory it was very awkward as he would usually hide behind the bear animatronic or hide his face when he is holding him in his brawn arms. It was as if the kid was intimidated by him, which was no doubt in his head. Like he was going to eat him or something. Which was, in his opinion, was impossible as he had no way of swallowing no less chewing anything. Biting, sure. But that’s all he could do. He rubbed his snout and groaned as he felt his gears grind and the pain shot up his left arm.
Gregory noticed and asked if he was ok. “Just tired kid,” he responds. He rolled his shoulders and placed his golf club back into his golf club pack. When his back was turned he felt something grab onto his tail. He jerked and turned around to see him holding his tail. Actually his was very close to him and tried holding his tail for comfort. He wondered why he was clinging to him only to hear shifting gears and what sounded like metallic laughter. He immediately knew who it was. “Son of a bitch.” He murmured. Looking at the green room entrance to see a thin, jester like animatronic. It’s fabric colors consisted of dark shades of blue and had golden stars plastered on its body. Its face plate was in the shape of a crescent moon. Along with bright red eyes. A huge grin plastered on its face. “Hiya Gregory,” it cheered. The animatronic was named Moondrop.
“What ya want? I am in no mood for your games.” The moon animatronic giggled and said “I know, I just came to say hello~” He crept closer to Gregory in a slow playful manner. But to Gregory it was down right scary! He clung closer to Monty and tried to hide from him. Unknowingly Monty wrapped his tail around the boy and help him close. “Not in the mood, and while your at it,” He squares his shoulders to seem more intimidating. “Don’t try to pull any pranks.” “I wasn’t. Tiiiiiillllllll NOW!” Monty felt something tug at him as Gregory was snagged from tail and taken out of the green room by the sun animatronic Sunnyrise. “Hey!” He yelled as chased after them. “Monty! Help!” Sunnyrise was slightly bigger than Moondrop and carried him with slight ease.
They jumped from metal beam to pipeline making sure his balance was on point. “Freddy!” He cried. Hoping the bear animatronic would hear him and come save him. He tried to struggle and get out of the sun animatronic’s grip but as thin as it appeared to be, it was stronger than it originally looked. “Put me down! Please!” He begged. “In a minute, lets mess with gator boy for a bit!” The sun animatronic laughed in response to Moondrop’s answer to the boy’s plea.
He felt a bit nauseous from the frantic movements before he landed on something soft. He realized it was a pillow. A large pile of them actually. Mainly consisting of two types of styles, moon and stars, sun and clouds. The duo jumped down in front of him and the boy began to whimper as he tried to back away from them. Although no longer controlled by Vanny or that Glitchtrap character, that didn’t mean he felt comfortable with them. “MOONDROP! SUNNYRISE! WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU!? BRING THE KID BACK NOW! I MEAN IT!” He hoped that he would come to find him. He heard another voice along with Monty’s. It was Chica’s voice, “Gregory? Where are you sugar dot?”
Gregory called out to them as he heard low growls. He heard what sounded like clanging on metal to see Monty climbing the ramp the three were on. “Monty be careful!” Chica shouted after him as she is afraid that he or Gregory would get hurt. “Coming up!” He shouted. Sunnyrise and Moondrop laughed comically and abandoned ship. “W-what the- get back here!” He reached out to snag at least one of them but they were too far out of reach. “Damn!” He looked over to Gregory. “You good?” The boy nodded. He tried to pull him over the ledge as he was, although won’t admit it, scared to fall. He hated high heights. Gregory came closer to him and grabbed his right arm to pull him up. But being an animatronic made of dense metal it wasn’t an easy task. “Don’t strain ya self kid. I’m toov heavy for ya to pull.”
Gregory didn’t listen and kept pulling as Monty pulled himself up. Gusts of air seeping through the cracks of his metal plates. “Monty? Gregory? You boys alright?” “We’re ok.” Gregory answered. Tired from his attempts to pull Monty. “Can you get down?” “You for real? It was a hassle for me to get up here! I doubt I can climb down, no less with the kid on my back! Screw that shit!” He can hear Chica shouting angrily “Language!” Monty rolled his eyes and sighed. Falling backwards and laying his back on the pillows Gregory didn’t say anything and hid a small smile in the form of a yawn. He was actually tired. He was hanging out with Roxanne as Freddy was busy and Chica was helping him. He wanted to ask him about them having dreams or better yet nightmares but didn’t how to phrase it. He asked Roxanne and she told him she would dream sometimes but didn’t give thorough details.
“H-hey Monty?” “Yeah kid?” He thought for a minute before saying “Can you dream? Or have nightmares?” Monty sat up and looked at him. A confused expression or so it seems, appeared on his face plates. “Why ya asking?” Gregory’s face said it all. “You had a nightmare? Is that why you’re asking? What does it have to do with us?” The boy shyly nodded. Gregory fiddled with his shoelaces and said in a low tone “It was about you.” It would be an exaggeration to say that his jaw dropped. It was about him? He had a nightmare about him? Why? “Monty! Gregory! I’ll be back with help! Don’t do anything!”
Chica’s voice was drowned out by the awkward silence between them. He didn’t know what to say. He thought about his restless nights after the incident. The feeling of his body being controlled by a living virus. He was still there but as a passenger and watched in horror in what happened and he attempted to do. Especially to the boy. He couldn’t stop himself no matter how much he fought for control. He could hear its taunts and demonic laughter as it held him as a host till its body was complete. It still scares him. “Yeah Gregory, we...we can dream....we also have....bad dreams you could say.” The boy looked at him stunned. “You can? I asked Roxy about it and she said she would get strange dreams but didn’t explain much to me.” Monty nodded.
“Well I wouldn’t say they are dreams...more like processed memories. Mainly what we experienced during the day and they are placed in our processors. Mainly to replay like a movie.” “So its a movie in your head?” “Hell if I know, its a guess of mine. There were even times I get weird dreams like I don’t know, like a large chicken chasing me around and pecking at me for cursing. I didn’t even think it was possible as...well...I am a machine.” Gregory giggled. “Was the large chicken Chica?” “Maybe~” He laughed. “But in all seriousness, what was your nightmare about? Why me?” Gregory took a deep breath, he won’t hurt you. He told him what he remembered. From playing golf together to Vanny possessing him with the malware and him killing him by biting down on his head. Monty stared horrified. “That’s your nightmare?” The boy nodded. Not looking up.
“I...I didn’t realize. Jesus kid, that must’ve been scary for ya. Can’t imagine how that would’ve felt for ya.” “After that nightmare, I wanted to know if you had nightmares yourself, since you seem so...so...” “Sentient?” “Uh...I guess so.” “The gang and I even have bad dreams ourselves. I don’t understand the reasoning for it but it does happen. Sometimes its scary and we’ll forget about it as there isn’t much to it y’know. Just a fluke dream, but some are more horrifying than expected. So terrifying that even I can’t sleep.” “Monty? Do you have bad dreams and refuse to sleep? I did that when I came home...that day... I didn’t want to sleep as I was afraid to see Vanny and Glitchtrap laughing at me and taunt me, and having images of...what they did.” He shivered due to the cold and the sickening feeling of dread. He knew that feeling all too well.
Monty noticed and grabbed a blanket he was sitting on. He guessed Gregory never saw it as he was distracted by the twins. Well since bearball isn’t here and Chica isn’t here...I’ll try to comfort him till they come by and get us down. I hope they don’t see this. He reached out his tail and wrapped it around the boy’s waist and wrapped him up in the blanket and held him in his lap. Gregory was confused and looked up at him. “I know kid. It’s not easy to confront or deal with. What happened was traumatizing for you and us. I wouldn’t blame you having nightmares after that day.” Gregory reached out and hugged the gator around his neck and nuzzled his lower jaw. “I don’t blame you either. I bet you were scared too. And I remember what Freddy told me about you all being family.” Monty was stunned. The child was actually hugging him. The one kid who was intimidated by him, was hugging him. “He did huh?” “He said I was a part of that family too. Which means that I would consider you as an older brother, Roxy an older sister, Chica and Freddy as the mom and dad.” “Well,” He ruffled his hair making his chuckle. “I guess you are our little brother eh?”
Line Break:
Chica and Freddy managed to get Vanessa to grab the ladder from storage to help the two get down. Well, mainly Monty as they would just get Sunnyrise or Moondrop to grab Gregory and set him down nicely. “Are they alright?” Freddy shrugged. “Have you seen the twins?” he asked. She nodded no. “Nope, not after Monty chased after them.” Vanessa set the ladder and made sure it was stable. “Well wherever they are, they might get their due later.” “Gregors? Monty? You guys ok?” Roxy looked towards the platform but didn’t see anything.
Vanessa told Freddy to hold the ladder and climbed up. “Be safe, the twins might be around to scare you.” Roxy said. “God I hope not!” Vanessa shouted down to her. When she reached the ledge, she had to hold back a laugh. Right in front of her was something she never thought she’ll ever see. It was Montgomery Gator, the big, tough brute of the group cuddling little Gregory. He was wrapped up in the big arms of the animatronic and she could’ve swore that his tail was wagging slowly. “Oh! This is adorable!” Gregory was wrapped in a blanket and his head was nestled under Monty’s chin. She reached out and took out her phone. Making sure the flash was off and taking a picture of the duo before coming down to show the others. Who would’ve known that the big gator was a huge softy sometimes? Was he going to kill for it? Maybe? Was it worth it? Oh yes it was!

vent to us about vanny and glitchtrap. how much do you hate them and why, here for the drama
OH GOD where do i even START ( this is said gleefully and i am rubbing my hands together like a cartoon villain )
GENERALLY im not a huge fan of the newer fnaf lore. 1-3 is good purely for nostalgia purposes but generally everything pre pizzeria simulator + UCN? its decent! got some characters you can get attached to while not removing the spooky factor (SECURITY BREACH) you had the dead kids. you had the old creepy bastard getting a taste of his own medicine. a proper conclusion, even if it was the . um. third? proper conclusion in the series
i ALSO love william aftons character. hes horrendous. truly the worst. great antagonist as long as i dont look scraptrap in the...anywhere. he's always been my favorite character, and ive been into fnaf before #3 even came out so you know thats SAYING SOMETHING lmao
takes the cake as my favorite game series of all time. piqued my interest in horror. piqued my interest in art. fnaf is one of my favorite things ever in GENERAL, actually. shaped who i am today! my favorite hyperfixation then and one of my favorites now! if i never got into five nights at freddys, i wouldnt be as skilled of an artist. id have never gotten into online spaces, i wouldnt have the same interests, and id probably be an asshole all things considered. it made me happy for years and years -- i poured so much love into making content for this silly little horror game series and i genuinely wouldnt have it any other way.
anyways then glitchtrap shows up and fucks everything i like about the series
YOU HAD THE DEAD KIDS. IT MADE SENSE. THEY DIED AND POSESSED THE ANIMATRONICS. I KNOW ITS NOT THE 80S ANYMORE IN THE NEW GAMES BUT THE WHOLE DIGITAL SOUL THING OR WHATEVER HE'S GOT GOING ON THROWS A WRENCH INTO EVERYTHING THE SERIES HAS ESTABLISHED UP TO THIS POINT. IT'S NOT THAT IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE IT JUST ISNT...THERE HAS BEEN NO MENTION OF ANYTHING LIKE THIS UP UNTIL THIS POINT. it'd have been more satisfying if springtrap just fucking crawled outta the rubble and then shuffled his decrepit ass at you as you played the game or something. The Adventures Of Springtrap. Springtrap visits and burns down a burger king. Springtrap smashes your head against the pavement simulator. ill take anything. anything but this. please. fuck
It genuinely just makes me kinda sad in a weird way. Whenever im catching up on lore I'll be (reluctantly) accepting new theories about whatever the hell is going on then it gets to glitchtrap and vanny and it feels like someone walked up to my soul with a vacuum and turned it on high suction. what the hell did they do to my boy
right. so we HAD possessed animatronics. we probably still do, i dont know anymore. now we have a glitchy rabbit suit that looks like it smells like piss and apparently contains a serial killers soul. awesome. okay. whatever. if i ignore it, itll be fine. he wont be that relevant, right? i wont have to think about him anymore if i try hard enough WRONG NOW WE HAVE ANOTHER RABBIT SUIT THAT LOOKS LIKE IT SMELLS LIKE PISS
vanny. vanny dearest. vanny sweetie honey pumpkin darling. i fucking hate her
first impression of her was that she looks like she was designed for rule34 artists. shes not scary. shes not intimidating. she looks like a strong breeze would knock her over because her head is ten times the size of her body. toy chica is also guilty of the r34 thing but toy chica isnt associated with glitchtrap and therefore i do not hate her out of spite
i dislike security breach as a whole because it feels like a fnaf fanfic or fan comic series youd stumble upon on deviantart. that being said, fnaf fanfics and fancomics can be really enjoyable- they just dont feel like an actual piece of fnaf content. if security breach is the fanfic, vanny is someones oc that was made because they wanted to draw horny self insert art with springtrap and was unceremoniously shoved into what couldve been an entertaining story
despite my hatred for glitchtrap, he at least kinda makes sense and at least falls in line with fnaf in terms of general vibe. i feel bad for vanny. shes an antagonist. ive never been scared of her. and i cannot stress enough that she 100% feels like she doesnt belong in fnaf. shes the first antagonist to be just Some Person (unless you count micheal in fnaf 4. i dont) and she is fucking useless LMAO she shows up for like 3 cutscenes and barely does anything despite being hyped up and shown in trailers for fucking ever
guess burntrap is also guilty of the 'being useless' thing. i am neutral toward him though. hes got cool claws
didnt even touch on the mind control manipulation thing. god. i would but i dont know enough about it to properly tear it apart and i dont want to invest energy into learning about it

Idea 5: Vanessa visits the graves of her victims and sees ghosts
An idea that I've seen exceedingly few fics try and cover is Vanessa encountering the ghosts of the people whom she (as Vanny) murdered after the 3-star ending.
I am unsure as to how one would make this situation happen. Maybe it could be a dream.
A scenario that I like most has to do with the idea that Vanessa visits the graves of the children she (no vanny) killed. After she was freed, she reported the location of the bodies so that they could recieve a proper burial. Vanessa knows that it isn't enough, she doesn't think that she will ever be able to do enough to atone for what she did to all of those children (it wasn't you, it was Vanny.) At the very least she tries to go and visit their graves once a week, making sure to bring flowers for them everytime. Vanessa doesn't say anything during the visits, what is there to say? "I'm sorry?" Yeah right, as if SHE is deserving of forgiveness...
I really like it because there are a lot of things you could potentially cover, including:
How would the ghosts react to seeing the freed Vanessa? Would the children be enraged? If so, what would they do?
Or would they be able to see that the person in front of them is not really the same as the one who murdered them, not mentally, at least? Maybe (relating back to idea 2) the children who were taught by her would be able to convince the other children of this.
How about the therapists? They would likely be more willing to listen, being adults trained in understanding psychological conditions.
One could discuss how Vanessa has been dealing with having 2 sets of childhood memories, a fake abusive one (put there by Glitchtrap for reasons of trying to make her more obedient, which ended up failing) and her true, standard, evidently normal one. (in this universe patient 46 and their tapes didn't exist, save for that one line about lying about childhood, just pretend it was in one of Vanessa's tapes)
And, of course, we can't forget Vanessa. What would she do? It is most likely that she would curl up into a ball and await the punishment that she thinks she deserves (she doesn’t). After all, it is HER fault, right? (No, it’s Vanny's.)
If you include Gregory in this encounter, he, being the "no fear" gremlin that he is, would probably try and start to defend his… uh… paternal guardian of unspecified rank in some way, either by trying to explain that Vanny is no more, or try and actually fight the ghosts.
As you can see, there are many ways that I think someone can make a mini story out of this concept.
GHOST SIGHT NESSA GHOST SIGHT NESSA GHOST SIGHT NESSA
Oooouuugghhh her doing all she can to apologize to those kids? She woouuulldd. She's such a sweetheart, she'd do whatever she can.
The kids can definitely tell the difference though, I think. Especially if they were haunting the Plex before their burials? I think they'd be able to see Glitchtrap's presence around her, especially when Vanny is in control. That being said, if Nessa continues to see them around, they could probably warn her about others who've been affected by the virus as well, or even try to warn others if Nessa becomes infected again. (hrghrghrhrgrhrgrh we need a story with these two ideas now ooooo it would be so good) Ooooooo and Gregory being there too? Seeing them as well? Aaaaaa its so good -w- Especially with the idea of them trying to help others caught in the virus or Nessa getting affected again hehehe
Imagine like.....an afterstory where Nessa, Gregory, and GlamPlush Freddy are trying to stop the virus as best they can, with Nessa's friendly ghost entourage to help, but something happens during their "quest" and Nessa gets caught by (what I'm forever going to call) the Glitchtrap cult and exposed to the virus again. And now they're trying to find some way to stop the virus from fully taking over Nessa as well as destroying the virus if at all possible.

Do you have any upcoming fics you’re working on? If so, what are they about?
i do! i’ve been kinda focused on my dnd campaign for the past week, but i definitely wanna get back into writing fics soon.
but yes, i definitely have some WIPs brewing in my docs! the titles may not be for sure, but there’s:
regret.mov — the fic about Vanessa’s recordings while she was a beta tester. 90% humor, 10% horror.
Over the sound of the Phone Guy speaking, footsteps can be heard.
“Wait, why— what—”
The camera pans to the left. The door’s light flickers on to reveal Bonnie walking down the hall.
“OH MY GOD! THAT’S— CLOSE THE DOOR!”
Vanessa’s hand smacks the button. The door slams shut.
“Why are they so BIG?! I—”
“Uh, the animatronic characters here do get a bit quirky at night…”
“GOTTA GO!”
Vanessa slams the phone down on the receiver. Phone Guy keeps talking.
olly olly oxenfree — taking the time travel idea and making it about the fave! Glitchtrap forces Vanessa into a never-ending time loop where the only way to end it is by killing Gregory. psychological trauma, horror, and a truck-load of death ensues!
“DISASSEMBLE VANNY!”
Then, pain. Hot, white pain that blooms all over, rips her apart. Yes, she can feel as her limbs burst at the seams of her flesh, tugging and pulling in every direction, trying to destroy her like a toddler would to a puzzle their older sibling just completed. Her body is a jigsaw of all things wrong and horrible.
The void shudders as though it’s cold, her waterfall of blood providing no warmth to its mass. She opens her mouth to try and scream, but nothing comes out.
Something then materializes in the abyss, flickering and vaguely rabbit-shaped. It stares at her with glowing purple eyes, and its voice is both everywhere and nowhere when it opens its mouth to speak.
“You will always come back.”
Suddenly, the whole world bends, twists, flips upside down, and then collapses on itself.
vermillion bones — Vanessa falls down some stairs, breaks her ankle so bad the bone comes out of her skin, and then instantly things she’s stuck in the utility tunnels forever
If there was one thing Vanessa didn’t like, it was the dark.
Well, and public bathrooms, but this was about the dark right now.
Anything could be dwelling within a black shadow, just waiting to come out and rend the flesh from your bones. In the darkness, horrible things beyond the mind’s imagination lurked. She hated how vulnerable it made her feel, taking away her vision and leaving her helpless to whatever had its bloodshot eyes on her.
For that reason, Vanessa preferred to avoid the utility tunnels down beneath the Pizzaplex. Some people thought they were cool, but Vanessa wasn’t one of them. She didn’t like how dark and tight they were. She felt trapped down there, like she was locked underground in some kind of hellish catacombs.
However, when her boss told her she had to go down there for some god-knows-why reason, she didn’t have much of a choice.
can’t sneeze if you’re in a coma! — Vanessa takes Benadryl and NyQuil during her shift and then blacks out. requested by an anon that i have only half-written 😅
There’s a burrowing rabbit at the back of Vanessa’s throat, scratching and scratching and scratching away at the soft pink tissue. She tries to drown it with swigs of water, but it keeps swimming up through the torrent to resume its digging. She finally just accepts it: she has a cold.
Vanessa, in part, blames it on her stupid brain and its stupid insistence on being stressed all the time. She knows stress and anxiety can weaken the immune system, and she’s definitely been stressed a lot lately. Really, she can’t remember a time when she hasn’t felt stressed out.
But alongside that, it’s winter in Utah, and she did get locked out a few nights ago. It was only a matter of time before her body’s natural defenses against illness decided to retire and leave her to fend for herself.
Stupid white blood cells not doing their job. She really needs to start charging them every time they fail to protect her body.
you should be able to eat what you want: an essay by freddy fazbear — Freddy finds Vanessa stressing over homework for her Nutrients and Diet Therapy class and decides to help her out. there’s also some hurt/comfort over body image issues and eating habits in there.
“Officer Vanessa, I—”
The comment dies away in Freddy’s mouth as he takes in the scene before him: Vanessa hunched over the security office’s table, the surface covered in papers, pens, and a bulky textbook; her eyes shadowed by bags so big they could probably hide bodies; a mini mountain of coffee cans in the trash can. More interesting, though, is the fact that she’s wearing glasses.
the strength to go on — the bad ending to the dad!Mike au
This wasn’t supposed to happen.
It was the thing that wouldn’t stop running through his head.
This wasn’t supposed to happen.
Animatronics should not be able to feel human emotions. They simply were not capable of perceiving such a large spectrum of sensation and awareness. And yet, the pain in his chest was intense and fiery, like holding a smoldering point to the twisted metal of his core. It was real. This was real. And kneeling here now, witnessing what laid before him, he was sure nothing could hurt any worse than this.
In his arms he cradled a fragile body. It was not the body of the boy he had been chauffeuring around the Pizzaplex all night, but instead the body of the night guard that the boy insisted on not trusting. His daughter.
run for your life — me? projecting my trauma onto a fnaf character? more likely than you think!
There are nails in her flesh, similar to wolf claws, drawing bright red blood. They’re so strong they managed to rip the fabric of her uniform, and she hopes her higher ups won’t be angry with her when they find out. Will they give her a new one with no charge or will they berate her, blaming her for its destruction? She doesn’t know. Frankly, she doesn’t want to tell them about it. She doesn’t want to tell anyone about this.

FNAF Security Breach AU ~ Underground Bunny Burrow
AU is Underground survival with Bonnie being a guardian for the Night maintenance lady Kiania
Follows Vanny Good Ending with a combination of the Afton Ending in one idea to explain why parts are happening. The theory that Vanny decommissioned Bonnie to use his parts is why he's not coming back (No, I have nothing against Monty, he's scary and badass in his own right I love him for it.)
The Glitchtrap virus has been taking effect for over 2 weeks. Kids have already been disappearing so suddenly over that period of time. Everyone thought it to be some coincidence since always involved with them disappearing during closing time with ‘no evidence' of them being still in the building.
Vanessa introduced her fellow coworker that is night Maintenance Kiania. One of the best in her line of work, been going there for a long time as a kid so she familiar with the place and animatronics with business. With her anxiety, she took the night shift to avoid stress working.
Vanny took a high interest in the young lady's talents better yet her being on the night shift. So after coming to an agreement with Glitchy that if She ever has the hope to get Glitchy body to be new with free movements like the Glamrocks. She needed working parts from the bunny bot and someone knew how to make those big repairs. She knew how to program but not build. She was fed up wasting more time learning from Glitchy how to restore and rebuild. Made more apparent that having Kiania around there would be issues just because she had the ability to take out the virus.
Vanny Decommissioned Bonnie after he for one saw Vanny bring a kid to the back after hours, two were for his bunny-built endo with abilities Vanny sees fitting for Burntrap the most. Left a notice he had disappeared as she hide him away in the underground for later.
Vanny tested her control programming with the glitch virus. Let everything in the building lead the lady to her during the night shift. All the way to the main surveillance room purposely.
Kidnapping the girl when she was out of breath and energy from being consistently chased.
Forced Kiania to tear parts from Bonnie to build Burntrap new body structure and features.
After days of being held hostage, she finally figured out a chance to get away from Vanny. She escapes after getting Bonnie working again. Becoming a duo that has to explore and find a way out of the endless underground hallways and garbage dumps to escape. Dealing with staff bots and more, when Vanny isn't chasing Gregory she down there hunting to kill the Kia and tear Bonnie apart before they could tell anyone about her master or the operation she has going on.
Bonnie's chest cavity is storage inventory since she teenager size.
Runaway faster Bonnie holds her or piggyback rides away.
unlike Gregory, this spans over a few days and nights.
Lots more action and robot dismantling in this. Since Bonnie system tweaked by Kia best she could into his safe mode. Letting willingly protect and fight other staff and others if needed. Let him override his programming hopefully protect him for the Glitch affecting everything and people.
Bonnie doesn't hesitate to protect and fight after a bit of time. Our boi isn't afraid to punch another bot since everything trying to tear him apart and his friend.
She has anxiety problems can get overwhelmed after a fight. Bonnie sings to her as he carries her to let her rest, if finds a guitar he strung a soft song to calm her nerves as well when they safe and Vanny left (go do her actually job or after Gregory depending on when). His very calming presence tries to keep her spirits high.
Of course, he's a dork who will do or find ways to have fun when they're safe or not. Anything to have fun when it isn't risking their lives is worth it to give them a break from the tension. Even if its locked in a room to sleep for a while.
When the lights go out of above with Greg I'm gonna say it becomes nearly pitch black in the underground. Since it's dimly lit anyway. (Outside sun gonna burn). Bonnie eyes glow for him leaving Kia to her flashlight only hoping it keeps working. If not she'll charge just let Bonnie carry her to be safe. (There's so much garbage and scrap metal that's old she could hurt self easily)
Kiania nicknames are Kia or KeKe, 21 years old that self-taught with a lot experience in a shop for robotics and animatronics. Been going the Pizzaplex for a long while. Got a big time pass because her mother use work for the company. (Where Kia has gotten lot of knowledge from previous places from). She gotten to be friends with animatronics in time she got to be night Maintance to her luck. Was allowed to come in before closing. So she got truly hanging out with the whole band happily.
Kia can help majorly with the animatronics and Vanny. If they just get to the surface.
Tumblr media
Just quick sketch and colors of the AU idea.
Everything still working progress so changes may be made while making it. (Written and/or Art)
What do you guys think?
