" there's a bit of amusement in mafuyu's voice , the corners of his lips turned for a subtle smile whilst observing the niwa from behind as he picked open the coin storage with precision and speed . then again , why did mafuyu wait until the last second to mention it ?

the arcade was bustling with its games' lights and claw machines to venture through , though it's weekday occupancy was rather weak thankfully - the two had made their way through specific ones to get prizes for niigo and the empty sekai's inhabitants ( or rather , those who had expressed interest ) ; with a combination of mafuyu's luck and daisuke's skills alike , it's only natural they would be walking about with several prizes now . the molang and piu piu plushies had caught mafuyu's eyes out of every oversized plush or rare prizes daisuke could have gotten for him , but its claw was rather weak to get through to anything , it seems .

ehhhh --- ?! ' w-well , yeah , but ... ! ' he sputters a little at first ; he can't help it ! something about mafuyu's words made him feel caught --- and not just in the act of theft but his own selfless selfishness , the way that even if mafuyu did still have a small mound of yen to freely spend , the niwa was sure he didn't have the heart to take from it . what would it have meant to take from mafuyu's share , anyways ? he's already picked the machine's lock in less than a blink , his usually hidden hairpin jammed in and twisted with phenomenal , kaitō-class precision and technique . there was comfort in knowing that the machine had neither malice nor human face to wield against him .

( --- and if it was rigged from the start , ) his other self murmurs with a ghost's peer into the glass chamber , ( then it was already a cheat for your money . so , taking it all back is only fair . )

... right , fair . was it really fair to walk out with this many prizes , or for a phantom thief to enter an arcade in the first place , though ... ? he stews briefly in his sense of frustration , and as his furrowed brows reflect in sets against the machine's paneling mirrors , he can't help but see dark's grin hovering by his shoulder as its devilish snickers start to echo throughout his thoughts .

( the more difficult it is to obtain , the more you start to want it , right ? ... especially if it's for the sake of someone's happiness . )

mafuyu says it's okay , and yet still daisuke's feet stubbornly linger . true : the very fact it was unfair made him want to somehow overcome its making all that much more , somehow . ( would akiyama-san have felt a sort of relief and justice , if he said that he had ? ) opening the case itself wouldn't have been difficult in the slightest , but ---

' ... ah !! wiz ?! what are you doing in there ?! ' before he can even complete any thought the little white familiar's scrambled and climbed up into the prize chute with a hard-working kyuu-kyuu-kyuu . there , surfacing amongst the push rabbits and chickens , he gives his master a bright and big-eared smile from behind the glass . daisuke's dissuasions , though quick to surface , are hopeless --- at first wiz only nibbles then bites at the ear of a stuffed rabbit , violently shaking it in a show of subduing --- and then he tosses it neatly against the glass , where it thunks hard then lands neatly into the bottom of the chute with a second soft thump .

( alright , wiz ! that's the way !! ) ' --- n-no ... ! '

though , it wasn't as if he could just put the plush back in , right ?! wiz's long tail happily wags ; he hops and scurries and digs through the mass blanket of plushies , selecting-then-throwing another , another , then another , before finally leaving to return to daisuke's feet . at the bottom of the chute , a fresh small pile of prizes practically spill over themselves . the niwa flushes red , yet his hands still take them --- the pile bashfully offered to mafuyu as he tries to somewhat hide the fast-growing flush razing his cheeks .

' ... um . ' was there anything left to say for himself ? a glance into the machine again , the sound of his heart pounding in his ears , and he's met with dark's face . the small fortune of prizes too is finally handed over , in tandem with a chaste kiss onto the top of mafuyu's head . ' --- here , for you . ' a smile : if it was what mafuyu wanted the most , then no one , not even their pets , apparently , should have ever settled for anything less .

' --- and now we've still got all these coins , too . anything else you want to play , mafuyu ? '
