As a side note to the long post about Sex and the City, the thing that surprises me most on re-watch are the shockingly weak needle-drops (as the kids call it). The music is so forgettable and occasionally ill-timed.

You can tell by season four that the show was finally enjoying that HBO money, but the music is still really odd and occasionally off-putting. Maybe I need something from the same era to fairly compare it, but yeah... I don't love it.
