I've been asked this a few times so I'm gonna try and articulate my process a little for how I approach character design using my process for my fairy tail redesigns

Of course, OCs from scratch are harder since they're from scratch most of the time but im not super happy with my fantasy oc designs rn so u get this :P

First of all

PINTEREST IS UR BEST FRIEND

Whenever I’m struggling with a design I just scroll on Pinterest for a while until i find a vibe I want. For example, with Laxus I was struggling to find something interesting because all I had in my brain was something vaguely mafia boss leaning but none of the designs were hitting UNTIL i saw a guy with long hair and an open shirt and I realized i wanted to go more glam rock with him so this is his board:

Obviously, once this rabbit hole got me to billy idol that the concept I ran with

With his design there were 2 things I really wanted to keep; big coat and massive tits-

The coat specifically I wanted to keep bc not only is it iconic but I wanted to make sure his silhouette didnt match gajeels too much since I’m not great with drawing big buff men and I kind of end up making them look very similar in shape without meaning to so it was something I was very conscious of when drawing him.

A simple tick I use to make designs feel cohesive is just using repeating shapes

With laxus obviously it was easy to just incorporate cloud and lightning patterns while slapping some less subtle storm clouds on him

Other examples:

Kinda basic yes but i draw lucy very round and natsu more sharp 

As for making sure ur characters look unique, its all about being aware of what traits u tend to lean into and purposefully avoiding them

For example I tend to make characters very round and cute by default so I have to be very aware of that when designing more masc or less “cute” characters

I do also give almost all my more sporty athletic characters big baggy pants oops-

Hence why when I redid sting and rouge I intentionally gave them different pants because I really need to not default to this every single time lol

 Of course, I also changed their whole vibe in general to make them look very visually different from natsu and gajeel in general since I want it to visually read that even though they are dragon slayers they are VERY different from the gen 1 guys

Two Questions

How would you describe Shadow the Hedgehog as a character?

What do you think about Shadow using firearms?

Gosh it’s so hard to pinpoint it but if I had to break it down I think Shadow is basically Sonic, but he’s Sonic on a different wavelength, like he’s not spunky, or rambunctious or sociable. He keeps to his self because I think it’s hard for him to let others in after the Ark incident. I think he’s inspired by Sonic because Sonic represents freedom and freedom is something that allows people to live their dreams (basically what Maria wanted Shadow to help people achieve). Prime kinda has my favourite representation of him because the dude isn’t just edgy and gruff for the sake of it. He can be sassy and funny when he wants to be and he doesn’t hate being around Sonic (Prime Sonic is just a lovable idiot who deserves a punch or two for destroying the multiverse)

I feel like I can articulate what I think Shadows character is to me better but that’s all I got rn

I’ve basically grown up looking at Shadow with firearms attached to him at the hip so I’m absolutely fine with him using them (I think it would be super cool for the movie to have shadows absolutely hate firearms, kinda like how Batman hates them for obvious reasons)

@this-hopeless-war asked me for thanksgiving headcanons and I promise those are coming, but it got me thinking about mama mathews, who I’m calling Molly, so now of course I must yap

-Molly grew up on a farm in the country with an older brother and a younger sister

-their parents were very traditional and strict

-her brother was raised to take over the farm

-he was also raised to repress all his emotions other than anger!!!

-her little sister Elizabeth, nicknamed Betsy, is very close with Molly despite them being very very different

-Betsy marries her high school sweetheart and moves to his farm and they start a family together, which is everything Molly was expected to do, but she never wanted that life

-she always wanted to move to the big city in search of something more exciting

-sick of her parents nagging, she drops out of high school at the start of her senior year and moves to Tulsa

-she finds a job as a waitress and within about two weeks of having that job she meets a man named Keith

-He’s 19 years old and calls himself a ‘wild spirit’ and says that he and Molly share that

-they hit it off right away and he asks her out

-within a month they get engaged and elope

-two months after that, Molly finds out that she’s pregnant with two bit

-Kieth decides he should name their son after him, because of course they’re gonna have a son! Someone to carry on his Mathews name and effectively be his mini me

-four years later, Molly unexpectedly gets pregnant again

-she names her baby Elizabeth, after her aunt. She’s nicknamed Bitty by two bit and Beth by everyone else

-Kieth’s kinda had his foot out the door for a minute, saying that one kid is enough and he doesn’t want another one

-when Beth’s being born he shows up to the hospital clearly drunk

-when he finds out it’s a girl he explodes because what’s even the point in having a girl??

-Molly was holding her baby girl for the first time, and he was screaming at her, and she just had enough

-she told him that he wasn’t wanted here anymore, he never did anything to help her, he couldn’t keep a job, he was lazy, he considered himself a wild spirit like her, but in reality he’s just lost, living a pointless existence

-he gets super mad at her and skips town without a trace

-everyone always thinks that he left them cuz Molly doesn’t tell the story

I actually have so many thoughts on molly and keith, and Keith and two bit, but I can’t articulate them rn so I’m gonna go work on the thanksgiving headcanons.

in regards to what you pointed out a few posts ago, ngl one of my least favorite fandom things is when they make Kaminari the Har Har Stupid Joking ADHD Bi Playboy Who Is Never Serious Trope. like, he's very smart, 'worst in ___ area of a UA course' is very impressive and I don't remember if it even said that or just that he was studying with some other students, worried about his grades overall, calls himself stupid with implied insecurities about it, and didn't think he was very smart compared to the other people in the course. quirk overuse makes him loopy, incoherent, and think everything's funny. and yeah, he's a bit of a flirt and made a few perverted comments and actions that he clearly didn't think through that well. I'm pretty sure he's not ever stated to be bi in the manga because it was written by a coward, so I think people should think more about why they're associating and pairing together the idea of "hot flirty playboy who if legally able would sleep with everyone he meets" with emphasis or joke in the captions of whatever the content is on him being bi. I don't think this is inherently bad, even put together, but the execution feels kind of :/ and shallow. and I mainly just wish they'd pause to consider if there's any reason (subconscious or intentional) why one of those makes them think about the other, and at the very least lean back to see if they're blatantly making those traits centric around each other and tweak how they're showing them a little. Part of this is also because it's basically his fanon sexuality, but then they stick together "oh he's bi and everyone thinks that" and "he's made flirty or perverted comments and actions in canon at some point" and then mentally exaggerate and have this Canon Image of him as *waves hand at above* and I don't think that's happening consciously in most cases but. again. Cookiecutter Bi Party Playboy Who's Made a Date Offer to Everyone In The Building. not a flirty Person or a Playboy who is bi and flirts with more than one genders

I myself headcanon him as adhd and while the exact sexuality depends on my mood I think of/have him as bi in a lot of my content, but it's the same thing with why non adhd people see how he acts and label "adhd!" Especially about comprehension speed and derpy acting and intelligence and attention span jokes/tropes. Again, not bad in and of itself, but the specific parts of his behavior that make them think he's adhd, or that they start making jokes about or Ha Ha ADHD'ing, or that they think is why we project ADHD on him, (which they aren't necessarily wrong about, but like right in a really disrespectful look at how funny this is oh look squirrel way that's only funny when adhd people are doing it and it isn't all mocking like that) when they see other people calling him adhd, are the wrong ones, I think, and it shows in their characterization of him.

I'm not saying that any of those traits are bad in a character, but as a queer adhd girl with very high annual test scores and Gifted Kid Intelligence but extremely poor grades, focus, and brain damage (admittedly nothing like his, it was a longterm passive thing that mainly just made me have a Lot of Really Bad headaches, and closest thing it did to me was make me sluggish and emotional on bad days and also techincally have the potential kill my language bit if left untreated or the surgery messed up, which it didn't, and it won't be a problem again. but even after explaining that it wasn't cancer or any sort of tumor, and after seeing it do very little at all to affect my behavior outside of irritability and performance, because y'know, constant migraines, gone after the surgery but this was before that, Certain People I Was Vaguely Kind Of Acquaintances With started to treat my like I was a fragile glass thing going to to drop dead and revive myself speaking like a comic relief cartoon crazy person at any moment which was. patronizing.) I've since had surgery for, the way the fandom combines them into stereotypes and portrays them really just rubs me the wrong way- "Flirty Bi(tm) Playboy" "Har Har ADHD Can't Focus Or Get Things After They're Explained To Him, He's Still Confused And An Idiot" "Stupid Person With Brain Damage Who Can't Take Care Of Or Think For Themself And Acts Stupid And Funny For People To Laugh At" which tbh is super ableist even and especially when people irl do fit that description, and also reminds me of the Autistic Person Freaking Out And Being Dramatic sense of humor. And I know it's not helped by canon, because it done for comic relief and to limit his powers, but explored more I think it as a limitation could have been used way more interestingly than canon did and also call me biased but that quirk induced brain frying sounds at least as concerning as Izuku's quirk's backlash.

And it's a shame!! Because he's so much more interesting than that! Instead, the fandom gives me the Cookicutter Funny Bi ADHD Flirt Who's An Idiot and I am sad about it.

tbh it reminds me of what happened to percy jackson, esp with the ADHD Idiot Trope thing. which sucks because apparently it originated in the author making up stories around characters like his adhd and dyslexic kid inspired by Greek myths to tell him after running out of actual myths because it was his special interest and he wanted more. and then the series got kind of all over the place and the fandom processed that the adhd and dyslexic main character who does dumb things sometimes but is very combat smart and great at strategizing and leading gets bad grades and has trouble focusing and has, y'know, adhd, and made him the ADHD Idiot and erased his Gifted Kid girl friend's traits and ADHD and dyslexia into No Nonsense Calls Him an Idiot And Thinks He's Stupid And Has To Tell Him What To Do And Manage His Life For Him and honestly that just kind of sucks and it reminds me of what happened to fandom Kaminari. and now that I think of it people have jirou like that around him a lot too.

I couldn’t agree more that a lot of fandom has messed up Kami’s character, which is why I’ve kinda been posting more about him cause he’s just stuck in my head.

I think a lot of fandoms have trouble with characters like this, people have a hard time with duality in characters and fast/fun posts are easier to make if you flatten a character down.

The did it to Kami, they did it to Percy, they did it to Ron Weasley, they do it to Thor, the list goes on. If being the Smart One ™️ isn’t your thing and you can be goofy than you get pigeonholed into the idiot trope.

I feel for Kami a lot(probably because I have adhd/brain damage too)

It sucks when you’re smart but it’s not the traditional, measurable kind of smart(even if by national comparison Kami technically is).

I got terrible grades growing up, and I pretty much got the absolute lowest gpa you can get and still graduate. But absolutely no one would have known if I didn’t tell them, because I’m not dumb.

(It’s okay if you are “dumb”, I love me a head empty just vibes friend. You’re 100% valid, stil worthy of joining discussions, and should be listened to and taken seriously. This just isn’t about that tho)

I joke sometimes that I’m clever and witty but not smart, because that’s exactly what it feels like.

I have lots of thoughts and ideas that I think I articulate pretty well, I am excellent at finding the humor in things and expressing it in a way that’s funny to others too, and there is almost zero problems I can’t find a work around. And the people in my life love it, and they love to use it.

But eventually everyone in my life finds out that I’m not smart. They see the way I have to pause to Google how to calculate a tip, that I don’t know the name of all 50 states or even where to find them on a map, or I legitimately just can not spell (if you ever see a post where it looks like I used a weird word choice it’s probably because I tried 4 times and autocorrect+Google couldn’t help me and voice to text wasn’t an option)

No one ever questions my intelligence until they find out about my adhd and/or catch me struggling with it. After the mask comes off it’s like they can’t even hear me anymore, nothing I say could be true or matter because I’m now just the goofy accident prone spacy girl. My family literally calls me Spacy

And ya know what sometimes I just let people think that because it’s easier, it’s easier than explaining that I’m dyslexic and that I didn’t have a single geography/history clas until 10th grade and shocker the capital of Iowa doesn’t come up much by then. And it’s easier for me to laugh off losing my keys again than dwell on the fact that sometimes it feels like I’m losing my marbles.

And I wouldn’t be at all surprised if after this post I get a lot more “fact checkers” and push back on anything else I post.(not talking about people who want to genuinely engage,y’all are always welcome, I’m talking those people who don’t wanna look it up themselves but no longer trust me to know what I’m talking about)

Kami is a sweet brilliant boy. He’s in a nationally high ranking school, he loves the weather channel, he’s careful about his quirk that could easily hurt his friends in combat, he has a very high emotional intelligence level, he wears dorky shirts with electricity puns on them, and he pays attention to his friends and remembers a lot of little things about them.

He wants to be a hero and he takes that seriously, and the series has tried time and time again to tell y’all that smiling and laughter are an important part of that. Kami excels at this part! So what if his history grades don’t rival the top of the class, the top 5 students would struggle hard to do what Kami does.

Iida can’t relax, Momos rather shy, Todo struggles with social cues, Midoriya is canonically not funny, and jfc where to even begin with Katsuki. I’m certain they’ll all grow up to be excellent heros in their own right, but none of them are going to bring the level of joy and camaraderie that Denki can. You can’t test that into someone.

Kami also just notices people differently and has any easy way of joining in with them, he doesn’t struggle approaching Katsuki or Shinso. Sure he doesn’t hit the the nail on the head the same way Deku does but he’s the only one who has the guts and skills to try. Also he’s not that kinda friend, he’s not looking to a save these guys but pal around with them

I think Kami 100% realizes what a special case and tough nut to crack Bakugo is, I don’t think he’s just careless or too dumb realize his life’s at stake or whatever.

I think he’s purposely testing Bakugos boundaries all while trying to not be a threat to Katsukis actual ego and calling Bakugo out when he needs it in a way that not to serious. Kami knows how to be just goofy enough that he’s approachable. He’s also keyed in that the way to Bakugo is through Deku, meanwhile everyone else is stuck believing the opposite.

Kami also realized how important music is to Jiro and saw an opportunity to let her display her skills and combin the two worlds she lives, and he wasn’t afraid to get some back lash from her for it.

Like Deku Kami isn’t afraid to be uncomfortable. You really can’t teach that level of social ease, you can teach the posture and feed people a couple of lines but it’ll never hit the same. Funny approachable people have spent a lifetime learning the craft, usually out of necessity.

It’s actually what gives me the biggest adhd vibes from him, because adhd is (speculated to be) a dopamine deficiency disorder. People with adhd are constantly trying to raise their dopamine levels, and that means looking for praise and reward and nothing makes the human brain light up faster than postative human connections.

Adhd children struggle a lot with connecting with peers and often find making people laugh a fast way into people’s circles and makes it more likely people will overlook being interrupted or spaced out on.

Also adhd people are pretty much forced by their own brain structures to be genuine in all they do, low dopamine levels make it very hard to do things you don’t enjoy because there no promise of dopamine from the activity and you don’t have enough to spare, plus impulsiveness makes it really hard to not show when you do or don’t enjoy something.

I agree that Kami is also painted as overly perverted at times, he’s a little flirty but in a fun casual way but it’s not the foundation of his personality and it’s really mellowed out over the course of the series.

And while I subscribe to the bi hc from his interactions with Jiro and Shinso, we should all be very mindful that we don’t lump these characteristics together. The are separate facets of his personality that are not dependent on each other in anyway.

Kami deserves all the respect and love, I can’t wait to see our electric king again 🖤⚡️🖤

What He Looks For In An S/O~

Someone who appreciates animals. Of course, dogs are his favorites, but he doesn’t hate animals at all, not even cats.

Someone wild who knows how to have a good time, just like Kiba. He won’t enjoy dating a square, just being honest.

He wants a woman who’s not afraid to stand on her own two; the Inuzuka clan is primarily a matriarchy, meaning he’s used to strong-willed women.

He’s going to need an emotionally open person, he pretty much wears his heart out on his sleeve, so Kiba needs someone who can articulate their feelings.

He’s a possessive person, it’s in his nature, so a patient s/o would suit him best.

The saying ‘she’s beauty, she’s grace, she’ll kick you in the face’ is literally everything he’d ever want.

I can see him with someone smaller than him just because he has a thing for size differences.

He loves confidence and would swoon if his s/o took charge sometimes, in daily life, and in the bedroom.

Kiba is big on physical affection, so someone with the same love for touch is preferable.

Kiba leaves constant hickeys and you can’t convince me otherwise, so they’d best be used to it.

Akamaru has to like you. Period.

Relationship With Kiba Stuff~

This boy loves HARD, like with his whole heart, and he’s not afraid to show it either.

He’ll love taking you out on adventurous outdoorsy dates, usually, Akamaru will come with but every once in a while it might be the two of you.

He likes games and challenges. I could definitely see him turning a treasure hunt into a date.

He actually loves going on missions with you (there’s nothing sexier than watching his girl kick ass) and will let you do your thing without unnecessary worrying.

He’s not huge on giving gifts all the time, but he does enjoy treating you to nice places and dates.

He has the nose of a dog. So he can smell your… week before you even know it’s there.

He’s not the greatest at picking up on moods, but once he figures it out he’ll be all over it.

He definitely takes you to see the dogs and the puppies, especially when one is just born.

How To Annoy/Lose Him~

First of all, if Akamaru and you don’t get along. Akamaru was there from birth so, you know, if he doesn’t like you, sorry hun.

It’s one thing to be appropriately possessive, like not letting girls walk all over you to your man, but he does have female friends and he does not want to be caged.

If you’re not family-oriented. The Inuzuka clan is very much a pack family and everyone is very close.

Don’t ignore him or neglect him, he will be hurt.

Kiba enjoys playful banter, but he also knows where the line is and he expects you to as well

Being a genuinely rude person. Okay, yes, Kiba has anger management issues, but he’s not a mean person.

Not having compassion/empathy for others. It’ll disturb him, I promise.

Arrogance and vanity. Kiba knows he’s the shit alright, but he’s not a total jerk about it, and he expects the same from you.

Soft Kiba Things~

He’s actually pretty good at remembering things like important dates (thanks to his trusty calendar) so you’ll be hard-pressed to find him forgetting things like birthdays or anniversaries.

He has a dog plush toy that he will give to you when he’s off on missions. But when you’re off on missions, he’ll use your pillow since it smells like you.

He’s a huge cuddler and the position doesn’t matter as long as he’s close to you. (makes an adorable little spoon btw)

He definitely has a secret photo album/box full of candids, drawings from Sai, and little things that reminded him of you (i.e. a pretty flower, a quote, or a trinket) but he’d rather die than let it be found, it would ruin his bad-boy persona.

I feel like Kiba would like to feed you every once in a while. Like not in a weird, fetish way (iykyk) but a romantic thing that was rare?

He would love to train with you, like wow that’s my s/o and they’re so strong?

Kiba genuinely melts inside when he sees you and Akamaru interact. Like that’s his life long companion and the love of his life being friends? Woah.

He’s touch starved but for no reason at all except for the fact that he loves physical affection so please give him all the cuddles.

Random Kiba Facts~

His love languages are physical touch/quality time.

He’s not scared of thunderstorms in a traditional way, but just like dogs, the sounds and lightning are overstimulating and he’ll usually spend it with ear canceling headphones and in the basement.

Since everyone has a unique natural smell (he really liked yours) he’ll most likely complain if you wear heavily scented perfumes/body wash.

He knows he’s not naturally responsible so he creates detailed lists and schedules for himself.

Kiba has a perfectly working bed, but he always ended up on the floor so that’s where he sleeps now.

Contrary to popular belief, he likes to go as vampires for Halloween (he says he’s a werewolf 364 days of the year let him have one day) because of his fangs and ‘drop-dead beauty’ (his words).

He radiates heat like a furnace but somehow still finds a way to be cold at night?

Kiba has a good singing voice. It’s deep and melodious and no one can tell me differently.

He’s alright at regular cooking but amazing at gathering spices because he can smell the combinations and stuff so he’ll help you season things, but that’s about it.

He’s a huge overthinker please help him

Little Things~

Favorite:

Place to kiss: The space where your neck meets your shoulder, something about it just really riles him up.

Way to hug: He loves lifting you up so your legs wrap around his waist. He loves holding you and being able to kiss your neck.

Thing to do with you: He loves hiking or going on long walks, especially at sunset or sunrise.

Cuddle position: He actually loves to lay on your chest and listen to your heartbeat with your arms wrapped around him.

Type of date: Basically anything that includes physical activity or adventure.

This or That:

More of a spring person, a lot of new puppies are born then and the weather is finally nice again.

Morning kind of guy, he loves to go go go and his activities usually require daylight.

He likes to cook, even if he’s not that good at it. He’ll enjoy helping you in the kitchen.

Rarely reads for any reason. Don’t read to him either, he’ll be super bored.

Conflict Happenings~

The two of you will probably have more stupid ‘I’m right, you’re wrong’ type arguments, more than real fights tbh.

That is not to say that Kiba won’t participate in a fight. Cause he will.

The both of you are probably screaming so loudly no one knows what anyone is saying it’s just loud.

You getting mad will turn him on tbh (and vice versa too tbh)

Depending on how bad the fight is, he might just start making out with you or yell at you more for distracting him with your hotness.

You’ll be hard-pressed to make him back down during a fight if he’s truly heated, so pick your battles wisely hun.

He really can be sensitive, especially since he will value your opinion so much, so be careful with your words.

In general, he’s not really focused on hurting your feelings, more on winning the argument.

Will probably storm off for a while to calm down, but he is always back before the day is over.

The two of you are used to having fights like that, so a big cuddle session is in order when it’s all said and done.

Modern Kiba~

He’s definitely the sexy bad boy you couldn’t bring home to mother and he both owns and rocks his persona.

He secretly (not so secretly) likes dogs more than his peers, even if he is usually very social.

He’s the one who always manages to bring alcohol to the parties.

I could see him on a football or soccer team, and being really good too.

He’s charismatic, funny, good looking, street smart, and has all the It Man™ qualities and I know he’s the captain/president of some club or team.

He’s not naturally super smart but his mother ingrained good habits into him so he’s generally pretty good at studying, probably still has a tutor though.

He’s a very subtle F-boy, has a few girls he does regularly that don’t know about each other and that’s that.

He probably has a part-time job at a shelter, since he’s not big on working.

Always at parties and is always the center of attention. Everyone loves him.

The red fangs were a result of him being absolutely hammered yet everyone seemed to find them incredibly hot.

He’s a loyal friend, but he also won’t hesitate to cut you off if you wrong him (he liked his dog better anyway)

He’s so messy it’s up to his roommate to keep him in shape, and thankfully it’s Shino, who somehow manages to keep it a decently tidy living space.

Has the worst hangovers ever but still never learns??

Piers was not a stranger to poor mental health. Spikemuth was not an easy city to grow up in, and at times, the spotlight could be just as stressful.  As an adult, he’s learned how to handle this in healthier ways, but sometimes, it’s just too much.

 So, when you started showing signs that you were going through something, Piers noticed immediately.  He started doing little things for you; nothing major. Just simple things like bringing you dinner or offering to straighten things up a bit.

He wasn’t sure how open you were.  Whether or not you were ready to talk about it.  To his knowledge, you weren’t engaging in anything super dangerous to yourself, so he waited for you to come to him.  Piers just didn’t want to cross a line; emotions are tricky.  Even if what was going on was really obvious.

But then you began distancing.  That’s what scared him.  You started staying at your home more often than his. You texted less.  Went out less. Some days, he couldn’t even get a hold of you.

After a little while of this, he decided he needed to finally see you in person again. He was beyond worried.  His schedule was booked, between battles and concerts, and while it hurt him to do so, he canceled one of his smaller concerts so he could have time to come see you.

He dropped by late morning, electric blanket in tow.  It was a cold winter’s day, and in Galar, winter’s could be brutal.  And he knew how much you loved that blanket.  He made a mental note to order one for you later.

Piers let himself in with his key.  The house was silent, smelled a bit musty.  All of the blinds were shut closed and a layer of dust coated many of your possessions.

He checked the living room first.  Nope.  The kitchen was nearby, and you weren’t there, either.  So that meant the bedroom.

Yep, it was the bedroom.  Like the rest of the house, it was dark.  He only knew you were in there because of the lump on the bed.

He quietly walked up to you.  It was difficult to tell if you were asleep, but once he was nearly there, it seemed like you were.  He plugged in the blanket, and slipped into the bed with you gently, pulling the blanket over the two of you.

You shifted but did not wake.  So, he waited.

It took a couple of hours for you to finally wake up.  And when you did, and realized what happened, you apologized profusely.  Piers assured you it was okay; he was just worried about you and peppered you with light kisses.  

Finally, though, you actually started talking.  If you are vague, he’ll still pick up on what you mean.  He knows the signs, he knows the symptoms, and even if you can’t articulate it, he knows what you mean.  This isn’t his first time around this block, after all.

You two end up talking throughout most of the day.  There was so much you two missed.  Marnie was doing well; the Champion Cup was coming up, and she had a good shot at winning!  Piers had also decided to quit being a gym leader, too…

And for him? He missed how much pain you had been in, and even though he tried his best to reach out, he couldn’t help but feel a bit guilty.

The two of you talked and agreed to improve your communication with each other.  A mental health break is fine but shutting everyone else out might only make you feel worse.

So, you agreed that the next time you began to feel like this, you would at least try to tell Piers what was going on and try a bit more to reach out when you needed help.

Hopefully, this would prevent a break from lasting too long again.

And yes, you spent most of the day in that electric blanket, curled up together in the warmth.

Your muscles ached as you found yourself waking up pressed against the cool ground. A harsh voice pulling you from your slumber “Wake up!” It barked, jabbing a stiff boot harshly into your side.

You winced and hissed at the pain, “I can’t fight anymore tonight.” You said struggling to stand up.

A man in a uniform reminiscent to the military roughly grabbed your elbow and pulled you to your feet, “We’ve got something better for you.” He said letting go of you.

Your knees buckled under you, you were weak after having gone and won five rounds in the cage. They allowed you a break from your last fight because you were ‘making too much of a mess bleeding everywhere,’ that’s when you found yourself tossed into a cold dark cell and locked behind bars. Typically, you could hold your own in a cage fight, but this time your opponent had been significantly larger than you and had a strength enhancing mutation leaving you totally blind sided.

The guard pushed into your back with the barrel of his gun, the cold metal digging into your skin and pushed you forward, your mind was still hazed over with a sleep and exhaustion induced fog, “We need you to keep the Champ from tonight company.” He said giving you a wink that churned your stomach.

You felt bile stinging the back of your throat as you pushed it down, now over come with far “No!” You said harshly and turned to push past him. After a brief and weak struggle, you found the guards strong arms wrapped around you, pulling you kicking and screaming down the hall “Let me go!” You yelled trying to fight despite you weakened state. You would never let one of these sleezy men use you like that, over your dead body.

“You’ll have to kill me before I do anything with whatever pig you’ve got me lined up for.” You hissed, scratching at the arm that firmly gripped you.

The guard chuckled “I’ll leave that up to him.” He said, reaching to unlock the door before pushing you in and shutting it behind you.

You fell to your knees and scrambled up, running towards the door only to hear the lock on the outside click.

Locked in.

You looked around the room, it was nicer than the one you had but still shitty as far as living conditions went. It had a couch, an actual bed, a few books and records strewn about, and even a back room that you assumed was the bathroom. You continued to scope the room in a desperate attempt to find some where to hide. Your chest rose and fell rapidly as your breathing and heart rate increased, your panicked eyes darting around the room.

Moments passed and you found yourself with your knees pulled up against your chest sitting on the side of a dresser near the corner of the room, hopefully concealed by the shadows. You pressed your body against the wall and held your breath once you heard the shuffle of heavy footsteps coming into the main living area.

“I know you’re in here.” The voice sounded gruff, “Come on.”

You weighed your options, you could either A: go out and face him head on, or A: remain hiding in the shadows. Despite your urge to fight your brain settled with B, while your body was pumping with adrenaline your muscles screamed with your every move.

The footsteps padded around the room in search of you before a large, wide shadow loomed over you. You pressed yourself closer against the wooden dresser an pulled your knees tighter against you. A long feathery wing came into view and lowered as the man who held then knelt down, getting eye to eye with you.

He couldn’t have been much older than you, just barely twenty you guessed, his brows looked as though they were permanently furrowed with frustration, but his eyes were a surprisingly bright blue color and his chest was bare and scarred.

“Angel,” Your voice was soft and hoarse. He had horror stories about him in the ring, often going over 10 rounds before they pulled him simply just to shake up the predictability of a fight.

He winced at the sound of his fighting name and sat on the floor across from you; his wings relaxed at his sides, the feathers lightly gracing the floor. “Warren, please.” He looked away, avoiding eye contact.

You frowned and began to sputter an apology before you were interrupted, his hand reached up to cup your face and you winced, pulling away instinctively from his touch, he let out a soft ‘sshh’ to calm your skittish nerves “’M not gonna do anything.” He calmly spoke.

Your breathing hitched in your throat as you felt his warm, rough hand cup your face, the pads of his thumb lightly ghosting over the swollen bruise on your cheek. You hissed out and winced in pain before he pulled away “Let’s get you cleaned up, yeah?” He asked.

You were surprised by his softness but accepted the hand he stretched out to you and allowed him to pull you from the ground, leading you into the bathroom. It was nice, nicer than what you had. There was a toilet, sink, and full shower and back. Just like you used to have before you were quite literally thrown into cage fighting.

Warren put the lid of the toilet seat down and motioned for you to sit which you promptly followed, “He grabbed an old and worn washcloth and wet it in the sink before pressing it against the patches of dried blood and dirt that had crusted to your face. You sighed against the warmth, you hadn’t been touched this kindly in what felt like ages. He pulled away, frowning, “I’m sorry,” He started before rinsing and ringing out the rag before going back to cleaning the muck and grime off your face, “That you got sent here.” He added, swallowing thickly.

You shook your head “It’s okay,” You added, it really wasn’t okay but then again it wasn’t either of your faults you ended up in this situation.

When Warren pulled away, you found yourself leaning in for more of his soft touch only to frown when he began to leave, “You can use the bathroom to clean up if you’d like.” He said and pulled out a worn-out towel from a shelf, “You look like you went a few too many rounds tonight.” He added with a small laugh.

You nodded your head and sheepishly looked away, “Can…” You tried to find your voice, “Can you stay with me?” You asked playing with the hem of your shirt.

Warren nodded his head, “Yeah,” He said before walking towards the shower and turning on the faucet and letting the water run. He plugged the tub, assuming you would want a bath considering you could hardly stand without wincing or walk without a limp. You adjusted the temperature to your liking and started to undress, letting out small gasps as your muscles ached with your movements. Warren’s face flushed pink when you asked him to help you into the tub, but he agreed, averting his eyes to allow you some modesty.

The water stung your open cuts but soothed your aching muscles and bones. The contrasting feeling causing a content sigh to escape your lips. You couldn’t remember the last time you properly bathed, it felt nice to be enveloped by warm water once again. After you bathed you felt refreshed even wrapped up in this raggedy old towel, Warren laid on his bed, his wings comfortably spread out underneath him. You stood on the side of the bed shifting nervously, still wrapped in your towel and damp.

Warren flashed you a clever smirk and patted the side, “I’m not going to let you sleep on the floor, come on.” He said moving to make room.

You felt your face flush before you nervously slipped onto the bed, laying atop the sheets. Your curled into yourself, your damp towel and wet skin doing nothing to keep you warm in the dark and cool room. You let out a small yelp, feeling Warren’s arm pull you onto his chest, his wings wrapping around you. His feathers tickled your skin lightly, they were soft and proved to be a good barrier against the cold.

You wrapped your arms around his neck and buried your face into the crook of your shoulder. The two of you held each other tightly, for fear that you would never get a chance to be this close to someone again. But you still craved a closeness that hadn’t been achieved yet. Your arms wrapped tighter and tighter around him, pulling you flush against him and not cheek to cheek.

Warren’s chest rumbled with a deep laugh, “Christ you’re going to choke me if you keep that up.” He said straining against your surprisingly strong grip.

You loosened your arms, “Sorry,” You muttered into his shoulder, “I- I just,” You struggled to gather your thoughts “I just want to be close.” Your voice cracked with emotion.

Swallowing thickly Warren glanced down at you with a sympathetic expression, “I… well,” he chewed on his lip in ponderous thought “we… we can’t get closer, unless we -uh- well you know.” He struggled to articulate. Both of your faces flushed at his suggestion, “I mean we don’t have to actually do anything.” He quickly added, “It can just be inside… I guess.”

The cogs in your brain turned as you pieced together his poorly worded sentence, the thought of laying together so intimately caused your walls to clench, “Okay, we can try it.” You said and licked your lips nervously.

Warren had managed to slip his pants and boxers off with out much of a fuss leaving the two of you bare. You sat up and sank down on his half hard length and let out a shaky breath as you felt him stretch your walls. His brows furrowed and he let out a needy whine, struggling to control himself. You leaned forward and allowed his arms and wings to wrap firmly around you once again while the two of you shuttered with each one of your movements.

You wrapped your arms around his neck held Warren tight against you as he kept one hand firmly anchored around your waist with the other stroking lazily up and down your back. It felt surprisingly nice to be held and as close as humanly possible to someone, even if that someone was all but a stranger to you.

Soon Warren’s hand was running his fingers through your damp hair, lightly scratching against your scalp. You shifted, causing his hips to lightly buck against you, you gasped, and Warren muttered out a strangled apology. His arms squeezed you lightly against him and the heat radiating off his body was unimaginable.

Your breath was ragged as he held you close, neither of you dared to move, the threat of what might happen looming over and hoping to tempt either one of you to finally break. You sat up slightly to see him, your faces close and mouths just barely touching before he cupped your face and pulled you into a soft kiss. You moaned into his tender touches causing your hips to lightly rock against his own. You both pulled away and hissed from the pleasure erupting from your small movements and rested your forehead on Warren’s. Your noses touched as the two of you continued to make little and slow movements with your hips. Soft and needy whines escaped your mouth as you lazily moved against him, your slow languid motions both fulfilling and leaving the two of you wanting more.

aw, thank you!!! i am feeling better having had a little break. and i am also VERY much enjoying throwing myself into caos talk, especially given what’s going on in the world. (sigh)

i did a big initial review write up to the show here [x] and that contains most of my general thoughts, but i’ll try to throw down a few other newer stray thoughts/theories/hopes:

-i really want to know who else is out there. the more i think about dr. cerberus, the more literally i do interpret his name. he’s definitely....something. be it real vamp, werewolf, or essentially a hell hound, i’m curious! either way, i hope hilda gets a cute love story out of it lol

-i want a jewish werewolf character. i want this joke so bad. gimme it. what’s the point without it 

-to the point about how literally do we take the name references of characters, a lot of people have brought up nick scratch being a combination of nicknames for the devil and suspect he’s actually satan in disguise. i am less inclined to take this at face value, truthfully, just because.....i don’t know. the stuff he was talking about in terms of love and romance just felt genuine? 

and i don’t even think it’s a shippy thing, because i’m not super sure where i stand on any ships rn (harvey and sabrina are tres cute and i suspect the pining/distance in s2 will gut me, but i just wish we had a bit more development into why they love each other)

i just feel like....in some ways these teen shows will always be a little bit dedicated towards making themselves a sensation, and i think they really want a love triangle. and i just think it’s more compelling if nick isn’t actually satan, seducing her in disguise. but that’s possibly bias because seduction-deception tends to gross me out. 

-BUT i think he’s definitely got an agenda, and he’s definitely got plenty of shady moments, so---i’m back to my original theory (before the show aired) that he’s working with/for the devil to get sabrina in the witch world. whether that’s because his arm is twisted for a layered reason or just because he was called to do it after signing his name, who knows. but i lean more towards “sabrina gets close to falling for him and then finds out he was working for satan” because, as we saw early on, she does not take deception well. and yanno, drama. anyway, that’s what i would do. 

-as i’ve mentioned a few times, i am just loving how the aesthetics and campiness are used deliberately, not just as references. which they are, of course (vinegar tom and daniel webster are my current faves) but they’re really used to further the plot and character development. the nightmare ep was kinda so/so but it did a lot for the spellman’s growth, and is a good example of how aesthetics can be used to bring internal things forward as external obstacles. 

susie and harvey kinda got the same treatment, as i posted in my big first write up. 

-i also want more development into the sisters and have their personalities start to come out a bit more clearly. dorcas (lol her name) is clearly the space cadet of the three, and prudence is devout and a clear leader, and agatha is....the most devilish? but that’s not really an individual personality. i hope to see more of that. 

-i think my fave character rn is sabrina herself---she’s just such a good heroine, especially in the way that her strengths also lead to some seriously big flaws. flaws that allow her to be fairly easily manipulated, frankly, because she only listens to what she wants to hear. and she gets humbled by it, but i don’t think we’ve seen the end of it. 

-as far as the “twins” thing i’ve seen floating around---i interpreted that to be more about sabrina worrying about her dual nature, not so literally that she has an evil twin running around. and/or it was foreshadowing for the blackwoods

-which leads me to my next theory, which is that father blackwood’s creepy warlock club is probably gonna be a large plotline of s2. as well as the murder of the guy from the first ep, that leads through the whole season and doens’t get resolved. ambrose’s bf clearly killed connor’s (the murdered warlock) familiar and i don’t think anyone believes his adopted parents actually committed suicide? so i do love a good whodunnit, even if it feels a bit obvious who dun it. 

i know i have more thoughts, but this is all i got at the moment. i’ll edit in more as i think of them!! let me know if you want to talk more specifically about one of these---i have to keep myself in check in a single post, but i’m happy to go off about one of these threads in more detail if you want. let me know!

hey ive been trying to figure out how to do this for awhile and since some anons have asked im gonna try 2 articulate my feelings about f*nn and this is not going to be very polite and im sorry, its nothing personal and if you have a perspective on him that i dont its fine and i absolutely get you and im glad you can enjoy that! i just wanted to try and work through how the fuck i feel about him and this is ultimately a pretty personal post and not a Manifesto on How F*nn Is Bad (i dont think he is, particularly, ftr), so like, if youre not interested which I CANNOT FAULT YOU FOR AT ALL, just know that its cool to go on! this isn’t trying to start shit or anything, i genuinely dont want to, im just writing this for Me, basically. its alright.

what...does f*nn have even. he’s good in the ring but he’s surrounded by people who are better. he doesn’t have a character. what motivates him? what the fuck is he even fighting for? what is his personality, even? he absorbs the storylines of everyone around him in any feud he does too often for him to be as underdeveloped as he is and yet we are here and WHY???

i mean. apollo. let’s look at apollo! apollo is similarly kinda underdeveloped character-wise and most of who he is comes from who he is irl, and people don’t really play characters up irl! but like. it’s not glaring in the same way f*nn is, because

1) apollo got called up SUPER SUPER EARLY in nxt where f*nn had YEARS to develop a character and still holds a spot as longest reigning nxt champion, and

2) apollo plays a support role! he’s not a main event player (which is fucking criminal in and of itself but thats another issue) and him being underdeveloped+not as fleshed out lends itself pretty well to him supporting people however they need support at the moment. it’s not Ideal but it works well for who he is in the context of story stuff, which is not the case for f*nn

(also 3 secretly but apollo’s moveset is actually really varied and interesting which f*nn’s is...not but that’s a subjective thing obviously lol)

like. f*nn is just. such a nothing of a wrestler. i’m sorry but genuinely i don’t know or understand what there is there. he doesn’t have a character besides...vagueing people on twitter until he gets what he wants and yes okay i know that’s not an entirely true unbiased thing to say and im sorry but also i dont think im exactly Wrong

(also about vaguing people on twitter i know that has something to do with how bad his 2017 booking was, i WON’T deny that, and multiple people are booked badly in dubya at once and they all deserve more than that, but also f*nn’s the only person who really got any rage on his behalf as far as i’ve seen and it’s definitely affected my feelings about that)

the only thing he’s got going for him is a storied history in new japan, which itself feels lacking in the ring, and which honestly...gets...a lot more credit than deserved (and mostly SOLO credit at that)? he DID create the bullet club but his bullet club was essentially an entire stable of Foreigner Heels. cheap heat. any story he told (and i only know that there was apollo 55, im unaware of any other feuds, so bear that in mind) feels so...like...secondary to that of anyone he worked with. he could be a support role and get away with being the white bread he is but GOD FORBID that should happen, and so he just engulfs the story of anyone around him and does nothing and it’s just

it’s disappointing and its boring and exhausting to see him get shot after shot after shot doing the same thing over and over again because He Can. i have nothing much against him, i think he’s petty and petulant and very...self-absorbed, like, not in an entirely bad way but in the sense that he buys a lot of his own hype? and its...off-putting. i don’t know him personally though obviously, that’s just how i feel about him based on what ive seen, but like, as a person, its whatever. i just can’t stand him as a wrestler or a character. he’s generic and unmotivated and so. NOTHING and it’s exhausting to watch and try to make something meaningful and enjoyable out of. especially juxtaposed with the miz rn, and even with s*th, who i hate but who at least HAS a personality even if it’s a genuinely awful one

not even going into the fan reception of f*nn vs anyone else who’s more deserving and interesting than he is, lmao, i’m bitter as anything about how f*nn is treated compared to the cruiserweights because NATURALLY and OBVIOUSLY i’m biased, you all know this, i don’t deny it, i cant say this comparison is all the way fair when im so so so FUCKING cwuisewweights, but like, the reaction to f*nn getting Beachballed vs any of the 205 dudes getting Beachballed was so heartbreaking in how much More he gets just for the name he’s got

i don’t know. i don’t know. i just think he’s such a nothing of a character, surrounded by people (taguchi, joe, kevin, hideo, FUCK IT, even s*th or like, fucking, KENNY, or the young bucks, or ANYONE) who really care about the character and story they have against him, and instead of being relegated to a supporting role where he’d be like, Worth anything, he’s thrust into whatever title picture or main event there is because He’s F*nn B*lor and it’s so...so much less talked about or acknowledged and for the life of me i don’t understand why. i don’t know what it is im missing

again, i don’t have much against him as a person, i personally don’t like how he acts but he doesn’t seem Proublematique in any way beyond...the foreigner heel stuff which is inherently built in anti-japan sentiment EVEN THOUGH that is strictly kayfabe afaik (though he does fucken. support the special olympics and did some Cool Trendy Straitjacket Entrances as prince nevitt and that is a very VERY personal thing i have against him) i guess that’s what matters. i just. ugh. im over it

i appreciate him being vocally supportive of queer fans but i don’t owe him for that and i still think it sucks that he, a (as far as i know) straight white dude, is getting the platform to do that instead of people who are actually queer and out in the same company. sonya isn’t getting this chance, and more blatantly, darren never got that chance. despite having the block the hate movement, and despite the fact that his coming out is what got him a face turn while it was ENTIRELY and COMPLETELY unacknowledged in the canon universe of wwe proper. like, i guess that’s not f*nn’s fault but there’s a common trend of men of color being pushed down to boost him up and it’s not the best. i don’t think that’s all his fault but i don’t like it

again this isn’t like, denouncing Liking F*nn, its fine! this isnt decrying everything about him, i don’t wanna fight about this, and if you like finn, sincerely i’m glad you can find something there to like and i hope you’re having a good time with him! and to boot i really DON’T know much about anything he did before dubya, and so i could very well be wrong about everything. like, calling the gullet blub just a Cheap Heat Stable? that interpretation could be and probably is wrong. i know that, and i know that’s probably gonna affect how i feel abt him, but also god i do not care even a bit enough to learn and i would rather die than look at pr*nce nevitt/gullet blub anything

1. What makes you feel smart?

When someone asks me a question and I’m able to answer it in a well articulated manner. I second guess myself a lot and my mind is often a jumbled mess. To be confident in my answer, answer someone correctly and be understood, that makes me feel smart. 

2. What compliment do you wish people would give you more often & why?

I’m trash for compliments about anything I’ve written, drawn or made. I’ve gotten some of the loveliest comments on my recent fics and the idea that I’m able to move people with my words just floors me.

3. If you had 3 lives and each life had to be completely different who would you be in each? Where would you work? who would your friends be? Where would you live? Why? 

In one I would be a pro ice hockey player. I’d probably look like Kris Letang or Erik Gudbranson. I’d be dating Eddie Lack on the DL. My friends would be my old college team mates who I wouldn’t see often but we’d still be super tight. And also my current team mates, obvs. I’d live in Canada, so probably play for Vancouver? That’s where I met Eddie and our relationship has been difficult since he was traded. </3

In the second one I’d work for Siv in Norway. I feel like she’d be a good boss and I could enjoy a nice work relationship with Henrik (if he still works there? it’s fine if not) without being hella creepy or stalking him. I’d also be able to speak Norwegian fluently and wouldn’t have to use a VPN to watch Skam.

Finally, number three. I would be a drag queen. I’d be an all round queen. I’d be able to act, sing, lip sync, tell jokes and dance. I’d even be able to sew. Then I’d go on RPDR and slay the competition. My friends would be my drag family from before the show and all my drag sisters from the show. I’d be particularly friendly with my favourites. I’d travel around doing the BOTS tour and meet all my adoring and wonderful fans and seeing beautiful countries.

At the minute it’s get into bed around 11:30pm. Scroll on social media (mostly Tumblr rn) until 2/3am. Put on an audiobook to fall asleep to. Wake up to audiobook around 4/5am. Turn off audiobook. Go back to sleep.

7. What is something you’re proud of yourself for and why? 

My winning personality. Oh, and modesty.

8. What is your best self care tip and why? 

Realise that sometimes you just need to take time. I see people beating themselves up so often for needing time. Or having to put themselves first. Understand that it’s okay. Oh, also... buy yourself shit. That always makes me feel better.

I love getting to know new people and making friends. Just because I don’t initiate it very often because I’m too socially anxious, doesn’t mean that I don’t want to. I want people to know that so I can make more frans. My ask box and dms are always open! Haha.

Falling in love with them. I mean, have you met me? Dude was lucky af.

hello hello !! i’m julian or jules, i’m 17, from pst, and my pronouns are he/him, and i am SUPER LATE !! i’m so sorry about that yikes !! this is my son hyun . i love him . i’d call him trash but that would be mean tbh he’s just doing his Very Best™ and you can find out more abt him under the cut !!

okay basically .. hyun was born in daejeon, south korea, to a relatively poor family. his father worked in a low level position in an office, and his mother was a homemaker. he had one younger sister, and honestly, they were never that close — all of them. money was too tight for his father to ever spend time with them, his mother was high strung and just didn’t have a kind or ‘motherly’ personality, and he just had nothing in common with his sister. it was kind of like ... living on an island.

despite this, hyun had one desire: to be happy. he saw the path to happiness, as per general korean culture, through backbreaking hard work. he couldn’t ever articulate exactly why, but he always knew, even as a child, that he’d need to be the best, because he’d have a lot to prove.

and that was the truth, more or less. he was always very smart, and wherever he fell short, he was an even harder worker. he was detail-oriented, obsessive and would do whatever he had to to get the job done, and that did him good in his life! he went from a public elementary school to an exclusive private school on scholarship and, in high school, was sponsored to study abroad in america.

in america, he continued to work hard and achieve high grades. he learned to speak english fluently, and, in general, had a better time than he did at home. his homestay sister was a nice lesbian girl named serena, who had bright red hair and sewed homemade patches onto her jeans, and they became very close friends — which was rare for hyun, as he never really was good at making connections. while he remained very studious, he also started hanging out with serena’s friends, most of which were queer. this got him thinking about his own identity, and over the two years he spent abroad, he realized he was trans.

when he got back to korea for the final year of high school, he came out to his parents as trans. they rejected him, but, in the nature of korean conservatism, told him he was allowed to live in their home and remain their daughter until he graduated high school, as they didn’t want to make a spectacle of themselves. 

knowing that his time with a family and a roof over his head was limited, hyun redoubled his school efforts, since the situation was quickly becoming dire. he ended up graduating with the top marks of his school, and full scholarship offers from all three sky universities. he ended up at seoul national university.

eventually, he graduated, and decided he wanted to move to america. he started applying for work there, and found a job in a fashion magazine based out of new york. that’s where his host family had lived, and when he told them, they invited him to live with them again. he took that opportunity readily.

there’s something to be said about hyun’s work ethic. he started at this magazine as a glorified assistant and, by the end of his time there, had worked his way up to a significant member of the publicity team, having created several successful marketing campaigns. after his biggest advertising campaign, he was contacted by a large san francisco-based cosmetics company to work as their coordinator of social media.

he didn’t realize what kind of commitment it would be when he took on the job, which far outpaced all of his previous work, both in korea and at the magazine company. he ended up directing his own small department, and was at the office from early morning ‘til late at night, even staying over on busier weeks. still, he wouldn’t trade it for the world. this is the path to happiness and fulfilment. someday, all this work will pay off. it doesn’t matter that he can’t hold down a relationship and has devolved from serial monogamy to straight-up one-night-stands. it doesn’t matter that he’s being worked to the bone and severely under-compensated for it. he’s doing what he loves — working hard and being challenged, and if this is what he has to do to climb the ladder, win the game — he’s going to do it.

so that’s his background .. as for his personality:

super type a does everything he can and, above all, does it well . SUCH a perfectionist and doesn’t take failure well bc .. he’s never failed

incredibly persistent !! he’s had so many doors slammed in his face that he now knows when to jam his foot in the door and how to keep a straight face through the pain

SUCH a slytherin just ... incredibly so ... definitely ambitious 100% cunning and honestly he’s lookin out for #1 that’s just the way it is

kind of twitchy and definitely high strung ?? while he can roll with whatever curveballs are thrown at him, he doesn’t take things not going as planned .. well .. in a surface way . he’ll get shit done but he’ll be swearing angry korean under his breath nd freaking out the whole damn time u better belieb

he’s this weird dichotomy between extremely professional and extremely outspoken .. he’s always ready 2 read a bitch but u aren’t gonna know you’ve been read for like a hot minute until he’s already moved on bc it was just so neutral and factual sounding

cannot STAND people with poor work ethics , or people who are really privileged or , the worst in his opinion , lazy rich people . he’ll tell them off . he doesn’t give a fuck . he had to fight tooth and nail for everything he has in this world and if it was handed to u and u don’t even do anything with it then what use do you have ??

hyun doesn’t have many friends and like the one friend he does have he doesn’t even really like as a person ... but when he decides ur one of his he’ll die for u tbh he’ll give u the clothes off his back he’ll go out in the middle of the night to bail ur ass out AS LONG as he thinks you’d do the same 4 him

huge commitment issues tbh like he genuinely doesn’t think he can have a functioning relationship which .. at this point .. is probably tru BUT that’s more bc of work than his personality yk ?? anyways .. most of his relationships now that he’s stopped trying are just him going out after work, getting drunk , and having meaningless hookups which is honestly fine w him where he is in his life rn

yep, it seems like i have existential crisisies every damn time before i have a huge assessment (which is all the damn time in this hell forsaken ib program)

i just i dont know like always i feel kinda empty, in fact i’ve kinda felt like this for awhile, not just a sorta sadness but also a kind of tiring emptiness

even when i laugh or smile or im having fun, theres still this kind of underlying sadness or worry at the back of my mind

theres a lot of reasons i feel this way, and i dont think i can pinpoint it on one particular thing or event, but i guess to sum it up i feel like im sort of regressing. I used to have these big dreams of being some lawyer and going to a super legit ivy league, and being successful and happy.

but because of this fuckign program i realised i cant do that, i guess yeah its good the difficulty helped me realise that life is hard eariler than later, but a part of me quite frankly would have prepared 2 more years of blissful ignorance. so like last year i decided no i cant do that i cant take the stress im not smart enough that jist blah blah so i guess i kinda haphazardly decided ummm ill do psychology?? its something im interested in and my friends always go to me when theyre down and im pretty good at cheering them up and i did well on the psych course i took 

but the thing is im so unsure o fgoing into this when all my friends are doing ““successful”“ majors like comscip or engineering or premed. and im not even sure of the major i want to do....

i know my parents say therye okay with it but like the truth is i know they arent. like my dad looked so dissapointede in me when i told him i didnt apply to any buisness schools

what im also scrae dof is doing psych at uni and having the whole being assesed thing make me hate it. nothing kills passion than having it associated with dissapointment and stress

my parents sort of instilled this idea in me that if something isnt useful dont do it. which is causing me a lot of grief and stress rn with the recent intersts and hobbies i have. there around 3 but ill just talk about one right now

languages, since like grade 6 ive been fascinated baout languages, i wanted to learn more and wanted to be those cool polygots. i didnt get that far you konw preteen attention span, i learned the cyrillic alphabet and really basic german in the brief period of time tho

in like grade 11 i spent time (and still am) spending time relearning how to read and write chinese, that wasnt a struggle because well i am chinese and its a DAMN useful language

but then grade 12 (aka me last  2+ weeks) i stumbled upon the langblr community and i remembered the interest and spark i used to have about languages, and i saw so many people and so many RELALY GOOD RESORUCES and i was like wow.

so i was like ugh whatever i guess il download duolingo just to check out the features ill probably ditch it anyway

well two weeks and 100 lingots later... guess i didnt ditch it.... but then like theres this nagging voice in my head thats telling me to stop wasting my time learning french, russian, spanish (and german kinda but i haveent startred that yet) these languages arent going to be useful for my future i should sjust stop im wasitng my time

im wasting my time just like i always do, i waste my time doing meaningless things i wont even be able to speak or read these languages that well ill forget eventually so why am i wasitng my time now?

this voice is just so damn loud and i wish i could tell it to shut up

i wish i could truly enjoy something that makes me happy wtihout thinking im wasting my time and im a loser i really ohenstly dont feel that im good at anything or have any geniune long lasting passion i feel like ill ditch the whole langauges and the other two hobbies soon i just feel like ill continue my cycle of mediocirty

another part of me just wonders if im seeing tthe past through rose coloured glasses, so i went back to read some of my old journals and stuff  and i think with the exception of some periods of time

i was geniunely happier then than i am now

but i also had some unhealthy ideas about myself, interests, and i was kind of unhealthily obsessive over some things, granted i still have some problems with that. but i think the main difference is now i’m aware

and to be frank, being aware im not entirely sure if thats a GOOD thing, in fact it kinda makes my not so good feelings feel worse since im aware.

what is geniune happiness? what is the difference between a hobby or interest that brings true joy or just unhealthy escapism? i dont know well i think i know what the answer might be but its still blury and vague

well from this i think one thing im not that bad is im alright at expressing myself and my emotions, im almost too in tune with myself, but the problem is yes i may be aware yes i may be able to articulate myself. but i dont do anything to change

so my circumstances and my feelings and the general state im always in, i guess its just my fault

i hope to look at this months or a year or maybe even years from now and say i didnt have anything to worry about and that things became better

but then again, maybe in the future ill be saying “wow yo u had it easy, i wish i could go back things are much worse now”

honestly i have way more to say but this already seems to o long so maybe another time i have an exam tmrw anyway

i just watched the movie and wanted to reflect on it. i think i really wanted to reflect on it bc i’ve been talking to homie who i think is super intelligent and kind and thoughtful and i wanted to present something of my mind, that is hopefully unique to him.

another reason why i actively wanted to reflect on this is to have myself become  a more thoughtful person. to be able to articulate ideas from things that have evoked new thoughts and ideas. 

the movie has got me thinking about love, sensitivity and technology. i guess the thing that stuck out to me the most was the fact that theodore was able to be one ver sensitive person amidst the high tech world that he lives in. i;ve always thought that with more technology and ways to minimize human connection (lmao how cheesy) we would forget how to interact with humans. 

but i guess that’s also what the ilm was trying to talk about with theo’s relationship with samantha. she is not a human being. she is a computer. but she seemed so real. she was able to be patient, loving, funny, kind and smart. 

i love that theo was a sensitive dude. it was frustrating how he was questioning samantha’s place in his life in front of her. but i guess at that point he didn’t realize that she had valid feelings, that she was a being, with human emotions, just not inside of a  human being.

watching the film made me yearn so deeply to have what theo and samantha had. i want physical love as well. i want a present being in my life. but someone to share everything. someone who will be excited for me. every little accomplishment even if it is as little as getting out of bed. someone who adores me. someone who wants to talk to me. someone who wants to pick my brain. 

i wouldn't understand why anyone would tho. and i think I'm talking about krish rn. after the psychic reading i was set on us being a thing. after all the truths that the psychic told me, i was certain that this had to be true as well. I guess i was also excited to speak with him after acca was like, y'all should date lmao. that was the first time it was planted into my head. because i guess I've always thought that he was too good. too smart and too kind. i guess i automatically situated him in my head as an older brother. i would love to stop thinking about this because i feel like any time i feel deeply about something, it’s about a boy who is not completely present in my life HAHA. 

i felt inspired after i watched the movie though. i had a surge of energy to sing, to create. that;s something else i;ve been thinking about too; what does it mean to be a creative? honestly i think it;s because I've been questioning acca and i guess i was more so annoyed that she decided labelling herself as a creative because she is one to compartmentalize things very quickly and claim them. but i don't know. i guess I've been jealous of her. and i feel like I've always needed to do what she does. in high school, in college. i’ve wanted to be more political because she was and i thought people respected her because of it and i wanted to be respected and thought of as intelligent.

i don't know. it seems like a lot of my aggravation with her stems from myself and how uncertain i am and have been with myself. i guess that makes sense when i was growing up at least. i didn’t know what i wanted and i saw someone appear to be successful, i opted to be like them.

i don't know if i will end this conclusively or with any sense. i want to take more time to do this. more time to take time for myself. to do things i like and actively question things. i feel lighter after it .
