The Abema PPVs do, for me at least, prove that the vocalists are 100% singing the whole way and not lipsyncing

WARNING: LONG POST.
NCT Wish is the most compelling boy group to debut in awhile and that's no shade to any of these other boy groups. They just have a perfect combination of talent, potential, good production/vision for what they're going to be, charisma, hyung line visuals, and it-factor.
Like when Sion performs he serves in a way that reminds me of Yeonjun. Man dances his ass off and adds his own sense of musicality to every move. His lines are always so precise and his body shape adds to the look of the moves (long ass legs).
When Riku exists, his face card and charisma is unmatched. And he performs like old-school YG idols. Plus, he has that confident idgaf but am grateful for my opportunity vibe (lmao) that is so hard to cultivate in kpop idols. I straight up cannot name a single idol, ever, let alone one that has debuted under SM, that has that type of it factor.
Vocal Line. Their vocal line is solid for 4th/5th gen standards and I can definitely see them improving to the NCT standard. But what they already have with a 19-year-old leading the pack is wild already and covers different tonal ranges (Yushi and Daeyoung for the higher register light and round vocal, respectively; and Ryo and Sion for the lower register light and round vocal, respectively).
Rap Line. Flow-wise rap line is already one of the strongest in SM. Listen, we all know that's not SM's strong suit so it's not a high bar to clear lmao. But even within NCT--with SM's strongest rappers--you can see Wish's rapline's placement. I think Riku and Sakuya are really only second to Mark and Taeyong and we shouldn't even argue this point. Also, Wish's rap line has rule of cool w/Riku fronting which adds a lot. Cherry on top is that, like other SM rap lines, Riku and Sakuya also have pleasant vocals (especially Riku) to go along with their nice rap style.
Dance Line. Dance line is led by one of the most musical and natural dancers I've seen in awhile (Sion). Then there's a lot of young talent in Ryo and a cool/confident-efficient style in Riku. Some might consider Yushi to be one of the best dancers in Wish but--and I say this respectfully--no. (S/n: Respectfully, their dance ranking is like this: Sion, Ryo, Riku, Yushi, [a brick wall] Sakuya, Daeyoung. I think Sakuya's big problem is his taller height making him look a little awkward at times--but that can be overcome with age and practice). A Sion-Ryo-Riku dance line has potential to be one of the better dance lines in their generation (though Ryo will need to grow more since sometimes I notice his small stature physically limits him, and Riku will have to execute every move with the same power and fluidity as he does in killing parts).
Overall Performance Skills. Their overall performance style is energetic and visually interesting, if a bit stiff/awkward sometimes (probably due to nervousness). But one thing I can really appreciate is their stable live vocals while dancing. No one else can do that in the past couple of generations' boy groups and I commend them for that. And they've gotten some really unique choreographies so far that would look stupid if performed by anyone else, yet look nice on them (kind of like some of SHINee's choreos). Lastly on this point, their sound is very appropriate and matches their voices.
Variety/Personalities/Image. As for their variety skills, we haven't seen much from them and SM is obviously pushing certain images on them. Like it's clear what they're going for:
parent-type leader Sion
hot guy/possessor of a single brain cell that sometimes works Riku
complete idol/perfect role model-type Yushi
pure vocal/older brother-type Daeyoung (or Jaehee, whatever they're wanting him to go by)
super baby genius/atheletically gifted Ryo
chaotic maknae Sakuya
Despite the personalities SM is assigning them, their real personalities seem to shine through (which heavily contrasts their assigned roles in the group). This is a good thing. And as they get more experienced, I expect that what seems to be their real personalities will come out more in variety, social media, and interviews (a la TXT). This will do wonders for them because everybody knows that SM's assigned personalities are always boring and patronizing lmao.
The Issue All The Dumb People Have With Them. Now, the elephants in the room: the two 16 year olds and predominantly recent trainees under the NCT brand. Honestly, this doesn't bother me as much as it does other people. I know people want a mature/suave concept but like...that doesn't mean the kids aren't talented? I admit I'd like to see Sion and Riku do something a little more akin to 127 style but what they have so far is actually pretty good and very on brand with 127. Despite the fact that they skew younger, they don't sound too kidz-boppy like when Dream first debuted.
And when it comes to watching their content/you hoes wanting something to thirst after, you can just choose to only pay attention to hyung line lmao. Like the group as a whole is super talented and ready to debut to the world. HOWEVER, to me, clearly Sion-Riku-Yushi catch your attention very easily, with Sion and Riku feeling like damn near generations apart from Sakuya. I've watched some of their variety and Sion and Riku give similar vibes with Sakuya as Taeyong & Doyoung do with Mark & Haechan. And when it's just Sion and Riku, you feel a completely different vibe than when they're with the other members. I like that, so I tend to gravitate toward Sion-Riku (and sometimes Yushi) content.
I find the line of thought that you have to bias every single member weird because it puts people in fucked up positions. You don't have to force yourself to be interested in every member. Of course there's even downsides to that (like people thinking you only like, say, Sion, for his visuals/so you can thirst), but it's not nearly as dire as the other scenario. If you naturally like Sion more, even if it's for a superficial reason, you shouldn't feel bad about being perceived as an akgae. You don't have to want to get to know all the members. Plus, if someone is policing the way you consume your entertainment they're a loser lmao.
Also, that being said, if you're over 18, it's not that you can't find Sakuya/Ryo entertaining. You can obviously think they're talented, funny, etc.
Also want to say that all the people mad at this group for existing because of their ages are moving real weird because half of y'all stan enhypen and also stanned older groups when they had underage maknaes (despite you yourselves being adults at the time). It comes off as hateration.
Then there's the folks mad at them for not being RIIZE lmao. Those people are just weirdos that honestly don't even deserve to be addressed. Like who cares that SungTaro aren't in NCT? They got to debut, didn't they? They're successful, aren't they? And they will probably continue to interact with 127, Way-V, and Dream more than even Wish will lol. You can still ship RIIZE with NCT folks (since that's really what this is about...), calm down.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to Wish and hope SM will give them bangers.

[Kingdom Hearts] Old Habits, New Reasons
Summary: Three times in which Namine shies away from social functions just to draw, and the one time someone joined her. [oneshot][character study][NamiXi if you really wanna squint][also Namiku if you squint a little less]
Rating: K
Word Count: 3,469 words
If you liked this story, please reblog!
---
Their question had thrown Namine off slightly. She sheepishly looked down at her small sketchbook as if it could answer the question for her. The white page stared back at her in silence.
A part of Namine knew this would happen eventually. There was always that fear that someone would follow her, ask her what she was doing, and then tell her to rejoin the others. But that wasn't what they were asking, was it? They wanted to know why she was drawing. It was a simple question, and it was a bit odd that someone would have lugged a caboodle of art supplies with them to a banquet.
"Well?" the other girl asked. "Is there someone who would get mad you're drawing, even if you did it around your friends?"
"I don't think so." Namine decided, slowly. "But sometimes... it's just easier to draw without other people around you. And sometimes, when people find out that you're good at something, they make you do that something for them. It's not very fun."
"Do you always leave to draw, though?"
At first, Namine wanted to disagree with all her heart. But in introspection, it was more of a vice than she cared to admit. She loved drawing, but didn't like others watching her as she did it. When did that happen, she wondered. That didn't used to be the case...
"Sometimes." Namine finally said. She held her sketchbook a bit tighter before adding, "But only on certain occasions."
"Like?"
Namine looked over at the other girl with curiosity. She was greeted with a look just as inquisitive as her own. Maybe even more so. There was a genuine interest; that much was certain. Maybe there was a budding artist in their midst?
"Well..." she carefully said, moving her sketchbook a bit to flip through the earlier pages, "There was this one time..."
. . .
It was a small comfort that, while she wasn't a Keyblade wielder herself, the others considered her when they all got together. She still made sure that her presence didn't disturb anyone. Being quiet and observant was Namine's most reliable vice. That, and drawing. There wasn't much else she knew how to do. Her time as a Nobody barely ranged a year, and after that she was placed safely inside Kairi's heart until recently. Being a Somebody was... confusing, to say the least.
Being asked to join in on a slumber party with Kairi and Xion had been a surprise- perhaps even more so because Master Aqua herself gave her the invitation. Namine certainly didn't expect it to take place in the Land of Departure either. The world seemed far too grand to her -far too important in the history of Keyblade wielders- that it could be used for anything beyond a training arena. She was proven wrong after entering the Great Hall with Kairi. Aqua had given them a spot in front of the thrones, already decorated with sleeping bags for all four of them and a small assortment of snacks.
"I've never got to have a proper slumber party before, since it was me and Terra for most of our childhoods." Aqua admitted at some point. "Feels weird having one with you guys now. I feel like a mom."
It was Xion who, without skipping a beat, cheerfully declared, "And you're the best one I'll never have!"
"Xion!" both Aqua and Kairi declared, each with their own level of bewilderment. Namine only offered a stifled laugh. So proud at their reactions, Xion gave them all a smile so big, it almost rivaled Sora's.
After that, they started to talk about various things since they all met together. Apparently everyone's training was going rather well. Kairi was beginning to get a handle of second tier elemental magic, while Xion was working on personal techniques on and off for the past week. It was around this time that Namine politely excused herself from the others. They had been so caught up in their conversation that they didn't even notice.
Namine went to where she and Kairi had placed their personal things to find her caboodle. The caboodle was a neat little box with drawers that opened the same time she opened the lid. She was able to put all her art supplies in it. Most of them, anyway- her normal sketchbook was too large to fit. Instead, she used a smaller pad that was placed where the mirror in the caboodle was. Once Namine made sure she had everything, she carefully found a spot far enough away from the others so she could draw them. It honestly wasn't very far, but it was still far enough away that the other three didn't really notice her. That was fine. If anything, it was perfect.
The sounds of the others almost masked the sound of her pencil against paper. Spending most of her life locked away with nothing but drawing to distract her gave Namine a slight skill in speed drawing. However, she took her time when she started to work on her friends. She wanted as much detail as she could.
But she didn't bother to sketch her own sleeping bag. She tried to tell herself that it was because it ruined the composition. But deep down she knew it was because she didn't fit with the others, and so it didn't need to be included.
Namine finished her drawing without the others ever knowing she was gone. She placed everything back in her caboodle, then went back as Kairi went into a long story about Tidus and Wakka back on the islands. It was nice; the sounds of friendship. Namine had been the first to go to sleep that night.
. . .
At first, the only response she got was a quiet, "Oh..."
"It was a really fun time!" Namine quickly insisted. "And it really was a treat to be included."
"But you drew yourself out."
Namine flinched slightly. "It worked out better that way. From the angle I was at, it would have looked weird because I had the really light sleeping bag, and everything was so dark anyway..."
The other girl only looked more guilty.
"Do you still have the picture?" she wondered.
"I think so." Namine agreed. She adjusted herself so she could better go through her sketchbook before flipping through the earlier pages. "Here," she then offered as she handed it over.
There was a small hum as the other ran her fingers over the drawing. Namine had made deliberate choices in lighting around the three Keyblade wielders- light coming off of them as if they were lighting up the whole room. If you looked ever closer, you could see the detail of the castle's floor, and even make out the silhouettes of the three thrones in the background.
"Does anyone know that you go somewhere away from everyone to draw?" the other girl asked, handing the sketchbook back to Namine.
Namine gave a fond, almost bashful smile.
"There is someone..."
. . .
"There's a lot of people here." Namine noted as she tried to look over the crowd. Riku wasn't making the same amount of effort. Instead, he just casually looked on with a hand at his hip. Curse him being a full head taller than she was.
"Aqua said that Disney Town holds the Dream Festival every year." Riku agreed with a small nod. "Can't be that easy since Queen Minnie has almost been reigning the kingdom alone for the past few years. The effort is definitely amazing though."
Namine agreed with a nod and a small noise of affirmation. Disney Town looked absolutely splendid for the festival. All the colors, and the smells, and the energy was enough to put anyone in a good mood. The grip Namine had on her caboodle tightened slightly. A frown crossed her lips as she considered that there might have been too much commotion. There wasn't a good place to just sit and zone out without some kind of noise maker going off.
Riku must have noticed this. He looked over at her, and quickly saw her firm grip on the caboodle's handle.
"Are you sure you don't want to leave that in the Gummi Ship?" he asked. He even made a mild gesture to the box, which only made Namine hold it closer to her.
"No. I'm going to use it." Namine insisted. "I just... I just need someplace a bit more quiet..."
Riku nodded. He looked up again to see that Queen Minnie had taken the stage. The queen looked as beautiful as always in her formal pink and red ballgown. The jewels on her crown glittered under the multicolored overhead lights. Everyone cheered at seeing her- the love and admiration they had for their leader was enough to be felt from miles away. Minnie was a good queen, there was no contest about that.
As Minnie tried to settle the crowd down so she could speak, Riku bent down a bit to quietly tell Namine something.
"There's a sewage grate somewhere behind us. If you take it, there's a gizmo that will lead you up to one of the buildings overlooking the racetrack. Don't know about you, but a good aerial shot might be something to capture for later."
Namine grinned. "Thank you Riku." she said before giving him a small peck on his cheek. The young Keyblade master's face gleamed with a humble blush as he stood tall again, almost as if he had never moved at all. Namine laughed a bit at it before leaving.
Finding, and getting into, the grate had not been an issue. It did take her awhile to navigate the gizmo, though. But it was all worth it once she got to the top of a particular building. Namine let out a soft 'Oh...' of wonder as she sat down near the edge facing the racetrack. Riku was right- this was a good place to work. If only she was able to use larger sketch paper in her travelling kit.
When she was finished, Namine very quickly tried to find Riku again. She shouted his name after spotting him. He barely had time to turn around before she proudly displayed her new drawing to him.
"Do you think Queen Minnie will like it?" she asked, rather breathlessly.
Riku looked at her before looking down at the drawing. He put on a wide smile before telling her, "She's going to love it. It's perfect."
. . .
That story had brought about a rather brighter mood in the other girl.
"Did Queen Minnie like the drawing?" she asked. "You did give it to her after the festival, right?"
A sense of pride welled in Namine's heart, leading her to sit a bit straighter. "She loved it." she grinned. "She immediately had the brooms take it to the gallery to be expanded and mounted. You should have seen the look on Riku's face. He was as proud as I was, and probably more surprised!"
"I could only imagine." the other girl laughed. "Oh!" she then said, "Have you ever gone someplace with a view so nice that you just couldn't replicate it no matter how hard you tried? It's hard to recreate any atmosphere, in my opinion. I wanna know if you ever tried to as well."
Namine let out a soft hum as she thought about it. She let out a small noise of realization when it came to her.
"I did once before, yes." she agreed. "Since Kairi's parents don't mind me staying with them, I was able to join her, Riku, Wakka, Tidus, and Selphie to a beach party they had. It was still summer vacation, if I remember correctly. And Tidus really wanted to have a girls versus boys match..."
. . .
"Head's up!" Tidus shouted before serving the volleyball over the net.
"Cheater!" Selphie shouted back as Kairi managed to spike the ball back. Tidus only gave a rather sinister cackle back. However, at that point, no one was able to break their concentration just to smack talk each other.
Namine watched as Kairi and Selphie worked against Tidus and Riku in a rather well matched volleyball tourney. Wakka wasn't too far away- he had lost a bet earlier and had to make food for everyone. The smell of pineapples and fish hung in the air. It was the warmth of the midday sun that Namine loved the most. The feeling enveloped its way around her like a comforting hug. She let out a soft sigh as she got a bit more comfortable.
The sudden urge to draw made her fingers twitch.
This wasn't a good spot for it, though. She was too close to the others for anything but sand to get onto the paper than color. As much as she loved watching the volleyball match, it was still a bit too distracting. Namine started to get up and casually looked around for a better spot to draw. It didn't take long for her eyes to train to a crow's nest not far from the shore. It was part of a large treehouse that seemed to encompass the island. She looked back at her friends for a moment before quietly leaving them. If anyone noticed she was going, they certainly didn't question her about it.
After getting herself situated at the higher point, Namine found herself gaping at the scene below her. Her friends happily playing on the beach, the light reflections off the water, and even the island holding the paopu tree providing a view so beautiful, so rich, that she wasn't even aware that she was opening her caboodle at first. Seeing the Destiny Islands through Sora's heart was nothing compared to the real thing. Was it possible just to freeze time here and let everything else wash away? She smiled a bit to herself. She did have a way to freeze time, in a way.
The only unfortunate thing was that she wouldn't be able to capture it all. She couldn't encapsulate the smell of the sea, or the sounds of Tidus demanding the girls had leverage over him for some reason. She gave a small smile as she continued to work. Most of her effort was spent trying to reflect the sea around them. A certain impatience came over her as she carefully did each detail. You always had to start with the big stuff, then go down smaller. She was just so eager to capture this moment, anyway she could, that she was always picturing this drawing when it was done.
Namine had to force herself to stop after an hour. Her hands were starting to hurt, and her stomach was growling for food. She cracked her knuckles, barely relieving the tension in them, before putting her stuff away. There would always be time to clean the picture up later. For now, she needed to rejoin her friends.
. . .
And so, we were brought back to our initial setting- the banquet in Radiant Garden.
Namine had thought at first that this would be the perfect opportunity to work on drawing food. But the actual banquet itself had a lot more activity than she was anticipating. There were too many people at the tables to have space to stand at for a few minutes, and she had tried to get a plate for herself to take elsewhere- the allure of delectable aromas wouldn't let her go far without wolfing everything down. So she decided to get a higher view.
To her luck, there was a balcony overlooking the main area. It wasn't blocked off or anything, so Namine quietly crept her way to the top. She found a place to carefully overlook the area and found herself at awe. Even if she was aware that someone was behind her, she probably wouldn't have known it at first.
"Namine!" a voice suddenly said in surprise. Namine jumped a good foot before turning her attention to the newcomer. She relaxed a little when she found it was just Xion.
"Xion..." the blonde girl sighed. "It's just you."
"Am I interrupting you? I'm sorry. I'm not interested in food, and the boys are really going at it, so I really wanted to do this writing exercise where you describe an atmosphere, and..."
"No, no, no. You're fine." Namine insisted. She moved her stuff a bit before gesturing for Xion to sit down next to her. "Here," she offered, "Sit next to me. The view is nice from this area."
Xion smiled in thanks before carefully sitting down. She looked out over the balcony and gasped.
"You're right, this is a good view!" Xion marveled. Her eyes expanding in wonder. "This is the perfect place for Ebba to plant a listening device onto an enemy!"
"Ebba?" Namine wondered. "Who's Ebba?"
At Namine's confusion, Xion's face lit up in a deep scarlet.
"She's my... I think Pence called it 'self-insert.' It's a character that's based on me, but sometimes has a few differences. I've based most of the stories I write on stuff I did in the Organization. It's helped a lot with trying to cope with it. You know?"
Namine shrunk a little. "Yeah..." she agreed in a tiny voice.
"But it's real fun too!" Xion told her, trying to divert the heavy topic a bit. "I base everyone in story with someone in real life! You should see the guy I based on Xemnas... I do a lot of mean things to him."
Namine let out a small chuckle. But then a thought occurred to her.
"You based the characters in your story on us?"
"Of course I did!" she happily declared, her blush growing a bit, besides. "Roxas is Lucas, Master Aqua is head knight Meikai, I even have Pluto as the brave pup Mercury!"
"Do... Do you have someone based on me?"
Xion paused for a moment. Her face going still. However, just as quickly, her smile came back as wide as ever.
"Not yet, but I can!" she decided. She hummed a bit as she thought it over some more. "But I don't have to if you don't want to. I think I'll call her... Syrena."
"Syrena..." Namine hummed in thought. She then gave a bright smile in appreciation. "I like it."
"Great!" Xion beamed. She let out a rather contented sigh before asking, "What about you? Why did you come here?" She looked down at Namine's sketchpad and art supplies for a moment then added, "Did you come all this way just to draw?"
After some hesitation, Namine told her. Carefully, and in her own time. Xion listened intently- only asking questions when Namine was done relating a certain day. When the subject came back around to where they were, Xion seemed to understand much better.
"I get it now." she said.
"You do?" Namine wondered.
Xion gave a thoughtful little nod before explaining, "It's easier for you to draw when it's more quiet. That was how it was before. I think it's great that you're still drawing, even though you started because you were held hostage by the Organization. But the Organization didn't give you the skill you have, Namine. That’s all your own. Kinda like how writing is my special thing. We have ways to just... be ourselves, you know? It's comforting. It's like knowing that, even though we didn't start out in this world with our own goals or ideals, we can make them on our own now. We're free now, Namine. Free to do whatever we want."
Namine absently hugged her sketchbook. "I like that thought." she admitted. "I never really saw it that way before, either. Drawing is something that I know I can do. Something that won't harm others. But you are right- it's what makes me... me. Thank you."
Xion grinned. A wide, bright grin that could have lit up a room. It gave Namine an idea.
"What does Ebba look like?" she questioned, at the same time she pulled out one of her sketching pencils. "Does she look just like you, or are there a lot of differences?"
There was a moment of confusion on Xion's face, then a bright flicker of joy. Not a second after, she burst into a long babble about her character. She even used her arms to illustrate certain concepts and mannerisms. Namine laughed, and did her best to keep up. Xion was so passionate about her characters- it almost made Namine jealous. For the next few hours, Namine did a blend of Xion's idea for Ebba, while Xion herself got to writing about how Ebba got to meet a new acquaintance; a mysterious girl named Syrena, who -while mostly shy- was very well loved.

I’m Gonna Make This Place Your Home (Part 4)
Bakugo x reader
Runaway reader finds a home with Bakugo, but will trouble follow?
Words : 3175
Tumblr media
*****************************************************************************************************
Bakugo’s leg bounced up and down as his anxiety climbed. He had left you all alone at the apartment. He got up extra early despite the fact that he had been up most of the night tossing and turning because of another one of your nightmares.
He made you breakfast, left instructions for how to make lunch and even left some emergency cash with a note letting you known where he was going to be, for how long, and a number to reach him at if you needed him. He wanted to be prepared for anything. What he hadn't anticipated was you not calling him at all.
He wasnt some clingy bitch. He knew he didnt need to hold your hand through everything. You were a smart and capable girl. And he needed to chill out.
You had gotten out of bed a little later than usual. Your nightmares had done a number on you and without Bakugo there to drag your ass out of bed you slept way longer than you should have. It was well past noon by the time you were up, showered and dressed. You put on your best outfit and hurried out the door taking the breakfast Bakugo had made to go. You were on a mission. You were going to get a job.
You had the route to the coffee shop memorized at this point but it did take longer than you remembered without Bakugo there to provide small talk on the way.
It wasn’t busy when you finally got there, in fact there were only three people there including you who didnt work there. You confidently strolled up to the counter and asked a very annoyed looking Tasha if they were still hiring.
She raised her eyebrows at you, “You are even dumber than you look...You really want to work here? With me? Do you even have any experience?”
You shrugged ignoring her little jab at you, “Bakugo taught me how to make coffee at home... and I really really love coffee...”
She simply scoffed and rolled her eyes,  “Pushing a button on a coffee pot and being a barista are two totally different things.”
You bit your lip and nodded, “Yeah of course... I would never dream of insinuating that your job is easy. But I’m a quick leaner I promise!”
Tasha stared at you for a few nerve wracking moments before rolling her eyes, “You’re lucky it’s not up to me. I’ll go get the manager.” You started to walk away but she grabbed your wrist. Panicking you pulled back but her grip tightened. She looked you straight in the eyes, “Look I shouldn't even be telling you this but I feel like its my job, one woman to another... The manager... he's a little handsy. Just.... be warned.”
You slowly nodded, “Uh... thanks. Does the owner know? About the manager I mean... Bakugo knows him and I’m sure he could help if you want...”
She yanked her hand back from yours, “I can take care of myself thanks. I don’t need a man to fight my battles for me unlike some people I know.”
She turned on her heels and headed to the back office before you could respond. You desperately wanted to help her. Just because she could take care of herself doest mean she should have to. You pulled the note that Bakugo had left you and considered giving him a call but the manager was already walking out of his office and giving you a megawatt smile.
“Well hello there. You must be Y/n. Tasha said you were interested in a job?”
You politely nodded your head, “Yes sir, that would be correct.”
His smile looked so sleazy, “Sir huh? I like the sound of that. Most of the girls around here aren't as respectful as you seem to be. Come take a seat. My name is Riku. I’m the manager here and I just have a few questions before we move any further.” He motioned to one of the couches that you had sat on many times before with Bakugo. But you knew better and your instincts drove you to take one of the single chairs next to the couch.
If he was annoyed by this he hid it well. “So... Y/n. Tell me a little about yourself and why you would like a job here.”
You wiped your sweaty palms on your jeans and cleared your throat. “Well I’d like to work here because I absolutely love coffee, and I really like this place. I come here so often and it’s very cozy. I’ll admit my skills are limited, but I’m a quick leaner and a hard worker.”
He nodded as you spoke, “So what about you. You answered why you want a job but you haven't told me anything about yourself.”
You simply shrugged, “Not much to know honestly. I just uh... moved here. I don’t have many friends yet. I like to read, drink coffee, and my roommate is currently teaching me how to cook.” It felt so weird referring to Bakugo as your roommate. It felt like a lie almost as soon as you said it. But there was no need to dread on it now.
“Are you 18?”
You frowned, “I’m well over 18. Why? Do you have to be 18 to work here or something?”
He shook his head, “I just prefer to have a more... mature staff here. That way we don’t run into any.... childish drama.”
You averted your eyes away from his growing more and more uncomfortable the longer you sat there. “So uh... did I get the job or...”
He leaned over and put his hand on your thigh giving you chills, “Oh yes of course! Come with me and we’ll get you an apron and a name tag.” He stood up, “I hate to ask but would you mind starting today? Tasha, despite being a brat, is our best trainer and she’s here today.”
You swallowed back your instinct to slap him for touching you, “Yeah that shouldn't be a problem.” You allowed yourself to relax as soon as his back was to you. Why were you doing this? Was this job really worth it? Working for a scummy boss and a trainer who for whatever reason hated you... But you needed a job. You couldn’t depend on Bakugo forever.
You followed him behind the counter to what looked like a small break room. It consisted of a table a few chairs and cubbies to put your things. Tasha was currently occupying one of the chairs scrolling through her phone. Riku walked over and squeezed her shoulder, “Okay break time’s over. You need to start training the new girl.”
She looked up from her phone and locked eyes with you, “You’ve got to be fucking kidding me.. you actually hired her?!”
Before he could even respond you sat down next to her, “Yes he did hire me, and I would like to officially burry the hatchet.” You reached your hand out to hers but she didnt take it.
She stood up, “Whatever. Go get your stupid apron and meet me by the register.”
You looked at Riku who just shrugged, “Like I said... she's a brat. But I’m sure she’ll warm up to you eventually.” He handed you and apron, “Now get out there before she throws another fit. I can only handle her in small doses.”
You pulled your hair up into a bun, threw your apron on and scurried out to catch up with Tasha. She was already by the register taping her fingers in annoyance, “Hurry up will ya! I don’t have all day.”
You spent the next several hours learning in great detail about how to ring things into the register. She may not be very nice but she was in fact a great and thorough trainer. You were so excited to move on and start learning about all the machines and what they did. As the day went on she became more patient and her voice started to lose the board and distasteful tone.
It was about an hour before close when the bell rang signaling a customer had walked into the store. Tasha gave you a look. “Alright lets see how much you learned. I’ll let you do this all on your own.”
Giddy with excitement you skipped over to the  register, “Hello welcome in! What can I get-” Your eyes locked with a very, VERY, angry Bakugo.
His hands were firmly planted on the counter in between the two of you. “Where the fuck have you been? I go all day without hearing from you then I get home to see that the food I had left for lunch was untouched and you were nowhere to be found! What the fuck Y/n!? Are you trying to kill me! I thought something had happened to you... I thought... I thought.”
You reached your hand out and placed it on top of his, “You thought the worst. I completely understand, and I’m sorry I caused you to panic. I should have called to let you know but I wanted to surprise you... Surprise... I got a job...”
He ran a hand through his hair in frustration, “Well you could have at least left a note..” He was already starting to calm down. As soon as he knew you were okay and safe he found it hard to actually be mad. “You know you don’t need a job right? It’s not like I’m going to start charging you rent..”
You rubbed your thumb over his hand, “Yeah but you should. You’ve been helping me adjust and part of that means I need to make my own money. I cant depend on you forever.”
He scoffed, “Says who? You’re an idiot if you think I’d ever kick you out to fend for yourself. I may be an asshole but I’m not that mean.... Is it even safe for you to have a job.”
You smiled and lightly shrugged, “Why wouldn't it be?”
He narrowed his eyes, “Think about it... A public place where anyone could see you.”
“I’m here practically every day anyways!”
“Yeah but usually you're here with me...” He groaned, “Don’t make me get you a fucking babysitter. Because I fucking will.”
You giggled, “Please Bakugo! It’s part time. I’ll only be here 3 days a week. I really want to do this. I need to do this.”
He groaned again, “Fine. But I’m waiting until you get off and I’m walking you home. It’s late enough as it is and I dont want you walking home alone.”
He started to walk towards one of the couches when you shouted after him, “Well you might as well order something while you wait! You’ll be my first customer.”
He could see how happy you were and it softened him up just the smallest bit, “Alright I’ll take the usual.”
You crinkled your nose, “Your usual or my usual?”
He cocked an eyebrow, “We have the same usual dumbass. You practically forced me to drink that girly cinnamon bun latte shit and now its unfortunately my favorite drink...”
You blushed, “Right.. Coming right up.”
He paid for his coffee and took a seat in his usual spot. The very same couch Riku had tried to get you to sit on earlier. You wondered if you should tell him about that. But you also barley got him to agree to you having a job. Not that he really had a say in what you do, but you still valued his opinion. You knew he would never say no to something unless he truly believed it was harmful in some way.
You skipped around as you made the delicious latte that was also your favorite. Your mouth practically watering, craving one for yourself. When you were done you looked to Tasha. “So did I do it right?”
Looking bored, “Considering how often you guys come in here, and how often I’ve had to make those... Yeah it looked like you did it right...” She took a step closer towards you, “You’ve worked pretty hard today and surprisingly haven't been a pain in my ass so how about I make you another one and you take a quick break with your boyfriend..”
“Oh, Bakugo isn’t my boyfriend. He’s my roommate. I can see why you'd be confused though. He's very protective. Believe me we’re working on that.” You fiddled with the lid of the coffee you had just made, “I just.... I just went through a lot. In a way its like I’m a bit broken and... well he’s taken it upon himself to help me put the pieces back together. Its not his job, and he knows that but he's determined to do it anyways.”
Tasha gave you a regretful look before averting her eyes down to the floor, “I’m sorry... for being a bitch. Not that there’s any excuse but... I basically flirted with him like every day for years and he never even gave me a second look. And then all the sudden you were there and he was so nice and caring to you and I..  I was just a jealous bitch.. I’m sorry I hope you can forgive me.” She picked her eyes up to meet yours, “And just so you're know... He may not be your boyfriend officially, but he's definitely not just your roommate. In my experience guys don't care as much as he does unless they like you.”
You felt yourself blush, “I promise you he doesn't like me the way that you think. He's just a really nice guy... and of course I can forgive you. I’m not the kind of person who holds grudges. Besides... I could really use a friend who isn't Bakugo.”
Tasha smirked a bit, “I dont know if you want me as a friend. I dont know if you’ve heard but I’m kind of a brat.”
You laughed, “You're not so bad. As much as you didn't like me you never once gave me bad coffee. You always made my drink delicious despite hating me and I think that says a lot about you. You also had no reason to warn me about Riku but you did anyways. I think you're better than you give yourself credit for.”
“OI! Dumbass! I know you’re new here but usually you get the persons coffee to them before it gets cold.”
You both laughed and you rolled your eyes, “I better get his majesty his coffee before he explodes.”
You walked over and plopped onto the couch besides Bakugo and handed him his coffee, “Has anyone ever told you you’re impatient?”
He chuckled, “People dont usually have the balls too. But I think I’ve heard someone say that once or twice.”
Tasha came up and handed you your coffee, “Alright just a quick break okay. 15 minutes and then I need to show you how to close up and clean the machines.”
You smiled and took a sip, “Oh this is delicious thanks Tasha!”
You turned back to Bakugo who was giving you such a soft smile.
“What? Why are you looking at me like that.”
He quirked an eyebrow “Is there anyone you cant wrap around your finer? That girl hated you yesterday and now she's smiling at you and making you coffee.”
You shrugged, “I find that being patient and empathetic gets you pretty far in life. You should try its sometime.”
“I think I’ll pass. But I will try this coffee... You didn’t poison it did you?”
“Only a little bit, not enough to kill you though so don’t worry.”
He let out a heavy laugh, “Look at you, picking up on sarcasm already. I’m such bad influence on you.” He took a sip of his coffee and gave you an unreadable look. “Alright Y/n. I have to tell you... this coffee... is fantastic. I will be purchasing a latte machine for the apartment, and your rent will from here on out be you making me coffee. I’m sorry I don’t make the rules.”
You were both laughing when you could hear someone clear their throat behind you. You turned to see Riku crossing his arms across his chest and looking very annoyed, “Y/n... We have a strict fraternization policy. We don’t allow our girls to sit with the customers while on shift for any reason.”
Your hand immediately went to Bakugos arms and squeezed. Trying to signal for him to let you handle it. “Sorry Riku. This is my roommate Bakugo. Tasha said it was okay for me too take a quick break out here before we start closing up.”
Bakugo was staring at Riku but it didnt seem to affect the man what so ever. Instead his eyes just flicked to where you hand was on Bakugo’s arm and he grew even angrier. “I don't care what Tasha said. I’m the manager. All breaks are to be taken in the break room. Employees only. And speaking of closing, it’s about time your little friend left.”
Before you could stop him Bakugo was standing up and getting in Riku’s face, “You may be her boss, but you don’t tell me what to do. It’s late and it’s dark outside. So I’m going to sit my ass down on this couch until she’s ready to leave and then I’m going to walk her home. You got that asshole?”
You were straight up panicking now. What was he doing? Was he trying to get you fired on your first day?! You put your hand on Bakugo’s chest, “Honestly I’m fine. You can wait outside if you want Bakugo it’s no big deal.”
You started to walk back to the counter when Riku grabbed you arm but his eyes remained glued to Bakugo’s, “If you know what's best for you you’ll wait outside. I have the power to make Y/n’s life here.... difficult. If she wants a job here then she has to follow my rules like the good little girl that she is...” He gave your ass a quick slap and that was it... all hell broke loose.
Bakugo had Riku by the neck and pushed against the wall in seconds. His other hand that was sparking furiously up next to his face. “Who the FUCK do you think you're talking to?! I am Ground Mother Fucking Zero! You have NO RIGHT to touch her like that!” His hand got closer to Riku’s now terrified face. His voice dropped an octave and you had to admit it was terrifying, but it was also kind of... hot. “You’re fucking lucky I dont send you to the fucking hospital, but honestly I dont want to deal with the paperwork. So instead I want you to pack your shit like the good little boy that you are.... and get the fuck out. And you better fucking PRAY that I never see you again.”
With that Bakugo threw him to the ground and turned too you. “You sure you need a job?”

Momo Twelve Hits! Rabbit Chat Part 2: Request Hits 1
Part 1 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5
Tsumugi: Thank you for joining, everyone. We'll be accepting requests for Momo-san's RADIO STATION Twelve Hits! here.
Tsumugi: I'll be your moderator, just like I was for IDOLiSH7 and TRIGGER. I look forward to chatting with you!
Momo: Heya, guys! ヾ(*´∀)(∀`*)ノ゛
Rinto: Thank you for taking the time to come here. We look forward to your requests for Momo-kun!
Yuki: We sure are ^^
Tamaki: Yukirin's been interrogating us every time he sees us
Momo: Interrogating!?
Yuki: Tamaki-kun, I'll come bring you King Pudding after this
Tamaki: Yaaay
Tamaki:
Tumblr media
Banri: What an aggressive distraction tactic.
Kaoru: Literal bribery.
Momo: Wait, what do you mean by interrogating? I need to know!
Yuki: What do you want, Momo?
Momo: Bribery isn't gonna work on me!
Yuki: I'll take time so serenade you for a whole day
Yuki: With complementary fanservice
Momo: Your bribery is working on me~ ((ヾ(*>∀<*)ノ))
Tenn: Are you sure about this
Ryunosuke: I'm sure it'll be a great day!
Momo: I'm happier than anyone in the whole universe right now! d(`・ω´・+)
Yamato: By the way, his interrogations were constantly asking us if we'd decided on a request for Momo-san yet.
Riku: Yamato-san just went and revealed it..!
Gaku: Merciless..!
Yuki: You've betrayed me, Yamato-kun
Yamato: I don't remember ever being on your side in the first place.
Momo: Wait, you asked everyone that!?
Mitsuki: Every time we saw each other at work, lol
Nagi: He sent messages when he could not see us face to face.
Sogo: I could really feel how strongly the two of you feel about each other.
Momo: Aaaaaaaaaah I'm so sorry, guys! lolololol
Yuki: I was curious about what they were going to request from you
Yuki: So I kept asking them, completely unconsciously.
Iori: So you're saying those messages were all sent unconsciously...
Tsumugi: It's making this request chat even more intense..!
Tsumugi: Let's get right to it. As always, we'll start with Tamaki-san, the youngest of us!
Tamaki: Yup
Tamaki: Can you do a reverse version of Re:vale's married couple thing?
Momo: You mean something like me being the husband who asks Yuki "What's for dinner, honey"???
Mitsuki: That's some high level marriage acting, lol
Tamaki: I mean Yukirin calling you a hunk and stuff
Momo: Huh!?
Momo: No way, absolutely not! If a hunk like him calls me a hunk, we'll get stuck in a hunk loop where I keep telling him, "No, you're  a hunk!"
Rinto: The word "hunk" is starting to lose all meaning!
Yuki: Don't be silly. You're a hunk too, Momo.
Momo: You're such a hunk for complimenting me, Yuki..!
Gaku: So this is the hunk loop (lol)
Tamaki: lmao
Tsumugi: I'd love to see Re:vale's new (?) marriage routine..!
Tsumugi: Iori-san, you're next!
Iori: Right. I want Momo-san to woo the listeners with a phrase he thinks will make their hearts race.
Momo: Ah! Isn't that the request I came up with for your show!?
Iori: Yes. I thought I'd like to see you give it a try, as well.
Momo: Thanks for doing my request (・ω<)☆
Mitsuki: I know you said something about taking revenge on your show, but I'd totally forgotten about it..!
Momo: In other words, it's a challenge from you to me? I'm already itching to show off my skills, lol
Momo: You're gonna receive something that'll make you so flustered that you turn off the radio!
Momo: In short, my Heartthrob Cannon!
Gaku: Wait, what is it supposed to be short for!?
Ryunosuke: That sounds like a strong weapon from a shonen manga!
Nagi: You understand nothing, Tsunashi-shi. A Heartthrob Cannon is the kind of sweet technique magical girls use.
Iori: I'm going to receive some kind of nonsensical attack..?
Riku: I'll be checking whether or not your Heartthrob Cannon has an effect on Iori!
Momo: I'm counting on ya, Riku (゜▽^d)
Riku:
Tumblr media
Iori: Besides, I want you to woo the listeners, not me!
Tsumugi: I feel like if  anyone will find the words  to make even Iori-san's heart skip a beat, it's Momo-san..!
Tsumugi: Riku-san, it's time for your request.
Riku: Okay! Mine is to try out personality tests!
Riku: Have you done any before? It's really fun, you find out things you didn't even know about yourself!
Momo: Wow! I've played around with that kinda stuff, but never seriously. That sounds fun~!
Riku: There's this app for doing them, and I've been using it a lot. You can do them over short work breaks, or when you're on the move.
Yamato: Riku's personality was something like, "Rude and uncharming. Doesn't even care if you think he's cute or not~" (lol)
Momo: Are you sure that's accurate!?
Riku: I thought I should get rid of my spoiled emotions and become more honest..!
Iori: Please stop phrasing it in such a familiar way.
Momo: But you're super honest already, lolololol
Tenn: There's no way that test was accurate
Momo: That sounds like a fun app. I'm kinda curious to see what I'd get, lol
Momo: It'll be fun to challenge the app to see into my heart (*`ω´)
Riku: I'll tell you the name of the app later!
Ryunosuke: But if he checks it now, what will he do for his request corner!?
Riku: Aaaah! I forgot!
Momo: Riku, you're just the cutest~ (○´∀`)σ)д`○)♪
Tsumugi: Personality tests, now that sounds fun! Riku-san, tell me what app you're using later, too...
Tsumugi: Kujo-san, you're next!
Tenn: Right. Mine is to tell the fans something you want them to know.
Tenn: I felt that was one of the strengths of hosting a radio show by yourself during my Twelve Hits! broadcast.
Tenn: It lets you engage with your listeners properly. I think they'll be happy if you remind them how you feel about them
Momo: Great idea! I don't get to so solo radio shows often, and I do have a ton of stuff to tell my fans!
Gaku: You're pretty quick to tell the fans how much you appreciate them during lives, too.
Mitsuki: Yep! It always makes me think about how happy your fans must be that you love them so much!
Sogo: Same here. Because you respond positively to your fans' feelings of affection, it lets them know that they're allowed to like you.
Tamaki: Can't they  just like you anyway?
Sogo: Of course they  can. But doing that gives them a sense of security that makes them happier.
Tenn: That's important.
Ryunosuke: We should be more aware of that, too.
Gaku: Yeah!
Momo: Our job isn't to smile at our fans, it's to make them smile.
Momo: I know what kinds of miracles idols can make happen. So I just want to share the happiness I've received!
Yuki: I knew you were a hunk, Momo
Momo: No, that's you \(´д`;)ノ
Yamato: That started out nice, but you ended up going straight back to the married couple (?)  shtick again.
Tenn: I learn a lot from Re:vale's lives, too
Tsumugi: I think I understand why Momo-san makes people so happy a bit better now..!
Tsumugi: Nagi-san, you're next.
Nagi: I have a wonderful request for Mister Momo :-)
Nagi: He may ask anything he wants of me, and I will do it.
Momo: Wait, so it's a reverse request!?
Nagi: Precisely. Re:vale have been good senpais to IDOLiSH7, so I want to repay you somehow.
Nagi: It most certainly has nothing to do with me being unable to come up with a request.
Momo: You're so upfront about this, lolololol
Mitsuki: Nagi, you little...
Tenn: As always, your generosity only extends to members of IDOLiSH7.
Nagi: Whatever do you mean?
Momo: Your reasons aside, you're gonna fulfill my request properly, right?
Nagi: Of course. Whether it is an all-night Cocona marathon or merchandise hunting in Akihabara, I will help you with anything you want.
Iori: That's nothing but your own hobbies, Rokuya-san...
Momo: That sounds kinda fun! I don't really do either of those things, so it might help me find a new hobby!
Yuki: Another one?
Yuki: Make it  something you can do at home
Momo: Don't worry! I'll make sure not to even look at the TV if I'm watching the DVDs with you \(*´∀`)ノ
Banri: Yuki... Can't you at least let Momo-kun do what he wants in his free time?
Yuki: Momo's too busy
Momo: You're a hunk even when you sulk, Yuki~!!!
Nagi: Wait a second. Even if Cocona would forgive such an insincere way of appreciating her, I will not.
Nagi: You must devote every fiber of your being to watching her!
Momo: Your Cocona marathons must be pretty hardcore, lol
Momo: I'll think of something you can do for me~(・∀・)ゞ
Tsumugi: I'm excited to see Nagi-san's request get chosen!
Tsumugi: Sogo-san, you're next!
Sogo: Yes. Mine is to talk about something you're secretly proud of.
Sogo: It can be some kind of special skill, too. You've got a wide range of interests, so I thought you probably have many skills, as well. It'd be nice to know something completely new about you.
Momo: Huh!? I don't think I've got anything to brag about, lol I'm just an average guy, lol
Gaku: An average guy couldn't become a top idol!
Ryunosuke: You're setting a very high bar for what counts as average..!
Sogo: I won't mind if it's something really small, so could you please do it..?
Momo: I'm sure I've got some, but I'm not coming up with anything...
Tsumugi: What kind of secret skills could you have, I wonder..?
Choices/outcomes:
1. Maybe you're really good at cutting your own hair?
Momo: I cut it myself sometimes, back when we were really broke, lol I got pretty good at it. I even cut Yuki's hair a few times!
2. Maybe you can predict when your phone is about to ring?
Momo: I'd have to be psychic to do that, lol Though I like to think I've got a sharp sixth sense!
3. Maybe you can take a nap while making it look like you're still awake?
Momo: Back in school, I did that a lot in morning classes because I was tired from soccer practice, lol Don't you think Iori and Tamaki could pull it off, too?
Momo: Hmm... Sorry  for being so slow! I’ll  think of something by  the show!
Sogo: It's fine! I look forward to your broadcast.
Riku: Excuse me! Can we take a little break!?
Riku: Yamato-san's in kind of a bad shape..!
Momo: Huh!? Did something happen to him? Is he okay!?
Mitsuki: We don't know. He's getting hounded by Iori and Tamaki..!
Gaku: A fight..!
Sogo: It's not anything that serious...
Mitsuki: The geezer forgot a whoopee cushion in the living room, lol
Ryunosuke: As in, the thing that makes a fart noise when you sit on it?
Momo: Ah... Now I get what's going on, lol
Tsumugi: The message log has gotten so long that we may as well take a little break!
Rinto: Right. We'll resume in just a moment!

Day 19+20/30 of DID
I am doing two since one is really quick and easy.
Have you ever met another multiple offline? Tell us about it.
Nope. Technically I have met two people that MIGHT be, but other than that no. My fiance thinks his mom (who dissociates and has a few other disorders that are common with C-PTSD) might have it from some things she’s asked him to get for her therapy and just how similar a lot of our symptoms are but thats just speculation. My oldest sister PROBABLY does, but hasn’t gotten treatment and currently isn’t in a place to actively be involved with it as I am. She does keep an eye out for it though.
Do you have a favorite book or TV show about or including DID?
I have a few books that I plan to read regarding DID or things similar to it but book wise, not particularly. To be entirely honest, when it comes to the media I consume, I tend to forget it shortly after so I can’t elaborate beyond my general main take away’s and impression it left me with. I will probably forget one big one, but ya know.
For me - while they are by far not 100% accurate and have problems in their own (and one isn’t even meant to be DID, it is literally demonic but just reminds me of DID) - two shows that feature / sort of feature DID in a way that has been good for me is Kuroko no Basket and Owari no Seraph. ((yes I watch anime))
Kuroko no Basket is a basketball anime with the main antagonist (Akashi Seijuro) being a character that canonically has two personalities and thus is heavily implied to have DID or at least OSDD due to lack of memory barriers. Personally speaking, Akashi has honestly played a huge role in my life and coming to understand myself and even further in trying to understand my DID and generally my trauma and how to work around it and really has been one of the characters / inspirations to how I wanted to shape myself and my life.
I have actually done a decent length analysis on his psychology and what not and compared and contrasted it to DID / OSDD and it does decently follow a good amount of the check list for things needed for DID / OSDD including childhood trauma and the personalities follow suit to match with the trauma that he had experienced as a child. Of course I do have two problems with it from a DID depiction stand point in that 1) It is exaggerated like all animes do - but on the same coin they make basketball look like war so... and 2) The not-normal-Akashi personality “Bokushi” while not as bad as most media is kind of in that “crazy kinda violent” alter personality. For the second one though, it kind of fits when you take into consideration everything, except for a moment or two that were just a bitttt over the top.
Even though I have some gripes with the depiction, Akashi has honestly been by far a huge importance to my mental health recovery and holds a special place in my heart - thus why I chose to make him the small image on my blog page for those that might have noticed.
As for Owari no Seraph, I am specifically talking more into the Light Novel where they go more into the demonic possession and how all of that works. It is BY NO MEANS discussed as DID or meant to be DID from the sounds of it, but while reading it, a lot of it rang home to have a lot of feelings that related to DID - especially in the sense that the demonic possession in this book were less “MUAHAHAHA! EVIL DEMON I AM DANGEROUS” and more of a spirit that fed on desire that lived in your body and head. This spirit pretty much would frequently tempt you to give into your desires and in exchange gave you powers and the theme / idea that really felt a bit relatable was how humanized the demons were and how the trick to mastering the power the best was to bond with the demon.
In that later phase it just kind of really felt like a superantural-tied DID / OSDD for me and I really kind of related and resonated with it even if it wasn’t MEANT to be DID or OSDD.
I also really enjoy Danganronpa, but Toko and Genocider Syo I have way too many gripes with the presentation to be able to mention it here. In Another Episode, the dynamic Toko and Syo has is very reminiscent of alters pretty accurately, but the way DID was depicted in Danganronpa 1 and the whole “sneezing” and “electrocution” to switch thing is just way way way too bad and not excusable as a DID thing imo. I still enjoy their characters but it is poor representation in all ways outside of Toko and Syo’s interpersonal dynamic in a spin off game to actually mention beyond this on my DID blog.
WAIT. I don’t remember SHIT about it, but I was playing through Kingdom Hearts 3 and spent a portion of it going like “I feel like this is a DID analogy” but I don’t really remember what. I think it was the part with Sora and the hearts and communication or something? I really don’t remember #DissociativeAmnesia

Light[s] - One.
Hey there everyone, and welcome to Light[s]. This is a Kingdom Hearts original story, featuring Riku x Reader! I’m really excited for this story, and I’m introducing a LOT of different ideas and worlds that haven’t been visited in the Kingdom Hearts franchise yet! So, I really hope that you guys enjoy this? Let me know what you think, and if you’d like to be tagged!
Thank you~
The bookstore was something of a mystery to you, despite the fact that you worked there. It had always been in your city, perhaps there before the city even existed. You remembered, during school, that everyone had rumored that the city popped up around the bookstore.
Did that stop you from applying? No, of course not. Nor did it stop you from accepting the job and IMMEDIATELY making your way up to a keyholding position, AKA, one of THREE managers that worked the ancient two story building. Because of that, you knew the building inside and out, all of its nooks and crannies, the best places to read, all of the inventory.
So…when you found a leather bound scroll you didn’t recognize in the hands of a curious student, you had to take it. “I’m sorry, we can’t sell this, I don’t even know where it came from,” you admitted to them. They just shrugged and went on to find something else, leaving you to examine the object. It was a solid scroll, carefully wound with a supple leather strip and tied with a bow. The bow itself was held together by a metal, circular charm, like something on the end of a string. You spun it around the knot of the bow, searching for a way to take it off.
All you discovered was that it was silver, a little tarnished, and held the engraving of a heart, its single looping line forming curls in on itself, each curve carefully touching to form a deep indentation. You set the scroll in the top drawer of your desk, locked it, and returned to work.
But ‘out of sight, out of mind’ didn’t stick. You kept thinking of the scroll as you worked, wondered just what it could be and why you had never seen it before. You sent associates home, counting the tills, locked up the safe, and all the while wondering what the heck was inside that leather.
Finally, at eleven pm, you stood in front of your desk and stared at the drawer. Heaving a sigh, you unlocked it and yanked it open. The scroll smacked against the front, tilting until it couldn’t anymore, and from the back of the drawer you heard a gently ‘tink’. Pulling the scroll out, you reached it and patted until your fingers hit cold metal. It was a pin, maybe an inch long, and as thin as a needle. You thought back to the charm as you picked it up, the indentation right in the middle of the heart.
“No…” you whispered to yourself as you took the pin and stabbed it down into the heart charm.
It fell apart. You yanked at the leather ribbon until it was on the floor and the scroll was rolling across your desk. There were…outlines? Trails? Of different, oddly shaped planets that moved around the aged parchment. Some lines overlapped, others didn’t even touch. You leaned closer to it as one moved closer to the front…of…the perspective? You squeezed your eyes shut and shook your head. It was like looking at a video? But on paper. Drawn onto paper, and moving? You rubbed your eyes and looked at the parchment again.
The orb closest to the surface of the page was your city, with the bookstore in one spot, and the spire of the university in another. There were other landmarks of your hometown: a wrought iron clock, a stone bridge across the deep set lake, the single largest coniferous tree that was always in red and oranges no matter the year. You stared until you were cross eyed. The sketch took up the entirety of the parchment.
You rolled it back up into the leather and shoved it into your bag.
The world was quiet as you walked home, with a warm breeze and a clear sky. You clenched the straps of your bag as you walked, looking around at the neighborhood you found yourself in. If you looked at the map, would it be on there? Was it actually a map? The thought slowed you down.
It was then that you heard a sound, a scuttling, like shoes dragging on concrete, only faster, like a little kid running too fast. You looked around for the source There weren’t even any cars on the road. But, from beneath a bush, crawled a slender rainbow white creature, with ears that twitched in the air like a cat, head twitching from one side to the other. It clung close to the ground as it moved towards you. Another appeared on the wall beneath a window flower box, then melted into a white that dripped towards the sidewalk. The street lamps cast oily, broken rainbows against their white fur.
You turned in a circle. More, and more, and even more started to appear. The wind started to gust around you. Thunder roared in your ears and you looked up see a storm in the once clear sky.
The ground shook. A massive creature unfurled from behind the narrow townhomes around you, stretching so far into the sky you thought it might touch it. You gripped your bag until your fingers went numb and your stomach dropped.
It was, in all honesty, the last thing you remembered before waking up in a brightly lit courtyard, curled up on your side. Someone leaned over you, gently shaking your shoulder. You couldn’t hear a word they said as you stared up at them, struggling to bring your eyes into focus. There were large round things on the sides of their head and a massive, gloved hand lifted your head from the stone ground. You squeezed your eyes shut, counted to three, opened your eyes. His face came more into focus and you found yourself staring into a massive, now smiling, mouse man.
“You’re okay!” he squeaked.
You promptly rolled backwards and out of his grasp. Your head thonked against the stone beneath and you groaned. “I’m something.”
The mouse man followed you as you rolled again and onto your knees. “You should be careful! You took a pretty nasty fall there.”
“From where, I was on the street?” you groaned. You looked up and watched as he moved closer. “Who are you?”
“You can call me Mickey!” he answered. He shrugged, hands opening at his sides. “As for where you fell from, well…you fell from the sky!”
You lost your balance and rolled onto your butt, staring up at him. “The sky?”
“Yup!”
You thought of the storm. “Was there a storm here? Like at home?!” You climbed to your feet as you spoke, touching your shoulders. “Where’s my bag?!”
“Woah, now, hold on!” He held his hands out as you spun around, stumbling. Take a deep breath, you’ve been through a tumble!” As you stopped, raking your hands through your hair, he balled his hands on his hips. “What storm?”
“There was this storm, and these little – well not little – little white cat things and this massive thing and the storm came out of nowhere—”
“Oh no…” Mickey’s hands flew to his mouth.
You stared at him. “ ‘Oh no’?” you asked. “Do you know what happened?”
“Well, it hasn’t happen in a long time! But, it sounds like your world was swallowed by darkness!” His hands waved as he spoke.
You just stared at him. “Michael—”
“It’s Mickey!”
“Mr. Mouse,” you continued, “My…what, did what?”
As he opened his mouth to explain, a chorus of voices rang out through the courtyard, “King Mickey!”
You stared at him, eyes narrowed, mouth agape, trying to figure out if this or the map in your bag was more disorienting. You rubbed your face. “Okay,” you mumbled, “Can we start from the beginning? Please? It’s been a very long day.”
“Of course we can,” he said as he turned to you with a brilliant smile. You tried your hardest to return it with one of your own. “I’ll explain whatever I can!”
“Thank you, Mickey.”

When Kairi returned, sitting on the Paopu tree, Sora wasn’t with her.
Everyone there at the Islands felt his loss; felt his absence as tears rolled down Kairi’s face. They decided to stay for a week or so as Kairi and Riku got over the reeling shock of having Sora, kind constant Sora ripped away from them.
So, then, they weren’t sure how to feel when Sora returned- sort of.
A version of Sora washed up on the beach of the Islands, fingers shaped into claws, eyes almost glowing red, and shrouded in the Darkness they never thought he’d fall to.
He crouched defensively if anyone approached until Kairi and Riku came running up the beach, shouting his name.
Not-Sora whirled, growling and running at the two.
“Riku! Kairi!” shouts of alarm rang out as Sora pounced, knocking Riku to the ground.
Riku blinked as the creature on top of him nuzzled his neck instead of attacking.
“Sora?”
Not-Sora purred at the sound of his name, curling up in Riku’s lap as the other boy sat up.
Kairi sat down next to them. “I think it is Sora.”
“What happened to her?”
“Anti-form.” Roxas cut in softly, almost in a trance.
Riku looked up quickly. “What?”
Shaking his head, Roxas replied, “I can wield pure light as a weapon. Sora does… almost the opposite. It’s not really wielding Darkness but when he gets desperate enough, Sora’s Darkness… wields him, in a way.”
“How do you know that?”
“I lived in that guy’s heart for the better part of a year. I know how much Darkness he hides.” He smiled, “I’ve also fought Anti-Form.”
Riku ran his fingers through Anti-Sora’s hair. “You’ve fought him like this? He seems harmless.”
“Only because it’s you. He was growling at the rest of us earlier.” Lea cut in.
Roxas nodded. “As far as I could tell, that’s Sora with most of his cognitive abilities stripped away. He doesn’t really recognize us.”
“So why does he recognize me?”
Kairi laughed. “Isn’t it obvious, Riku? It’s because you’re Sora’s Light.”
“I’m what?”
“His Light. Sora loves you.”
“I…” Riku flushed. “He loves a lot of people. He loves all of you.”
“Not the same way he loves you. And you love him.”
He spluttered, starting to defend himself, “I don’t-”
Kairi cut him off with a look and he pulled Anti-Sora a little closer.
“So how do we get our Sora back?”
Turns out, no one knew how to get Sora back.
It was okay though; Anti-Sora was content to lounge next to Riku on the beach. They hadn’t tried to get Sora back to the Main Island; there would be too much to explain and they weren’t sure how he’d react.
That just meant Riku couldn’t leave the Play Island either. He’d started moving both of them into the tree house; Kairi was bringing him clothes and food, but he needed a more permanent solution.
So he’d started building the treehouse out. Riku had honestly been planning on moving to the Play Island anyway. His parents hadn’t survive Destiny Islands’ fall to Darkness, the stress too much for them- they’d always been on the frail side.
Sora tended to sit in the shade while he worked; seemingly relaxed. He’d perk up when he heard a boat coming, reluctant to leave when Riku shooed him into the bushes.
It was Old Man Natsu who’d stepped onto the Island, with a generator and wiring in hand to rig up the new built out tree house.
Riku smiled as the man taught him wiring and how to start the generator- it was hydro-powered, so all Riku needed to do was make sure the rotor was in flowing water, which was easy enough on the Play Island.
An old fridge and stove were installed next, and the old treehouse was pretty much a home for Riku and Anti-Sora.
Their bed- there was only one, as Anti-Sora only slept if he was on Riku- was little more than a mattress on the floor. (Riku dragged it from the Gummi Ship hidden in the Secret Place.) But it was enough for them.
Almost enough.
Riku sighed, looking down at Anti-Sora curled up on his chest. It was almost like owning a very large cat. Which was nice, Riku loved cats.
But he really wanted his best friend back.
He ran a hand through Sora’s hair.
“Hey there,” he’d caught Sora’s attention, smiling. “I know I talk to you a lot like this, but can you even understand me like this?”
Sora tilted his head further into Riku’s hand, letting out a little “chirrup” noise.
Riku chuckled, “I… gods, I miss you, Sora.” He pressed his forehead to Sora’s, “I know you’re here but it’s not enough. I need you, I need your light.”
Again, Sora chirruped, pressing curious hands to Riku’s cheeks, which were wet with tears.
“Kairi said I’m your Light…” Riku urged, “So follow me home.”
Sora let go of his face, curling up again in Riku’s lap in response, still shrouded in Darkness.
“I don’t know how to help him,” Riku sighed, glancing at the gummiphone set up on the counter as he cooked. “He eats, but not really enough, and he still doesn’t talk.”
“Well, if it’s a problem with his cognition it makes sense that he’d be nonverbal,” Ienzo speculated, brows furrowing, “but the not eating is concerning. How have you gotten him to eat when he does?”
“Physically put it in his mouth.”
“That’s… odd.”
“It works.”
“For now,” Ienzo glanced at his computer. “I wonder if Sora isn’t eating because he doesn’t recognize food.”
Riku glanced at Sora, curled up around his shirt. “It’s very possible. There are days he doesn’t even recognize Kairi.”
“Who does he recognize most often, aside from you?”
“Ventus, surprisingly.”
Ienzo made another note. “Maybe then it’s hearts he’s recognizing. I think Ventus’s heart is the one he knew the longest, aside from yours.”
“So he’s what like… a Heartless?”
“No, not that. He can just sense hearts, so he stays by the ones he knows the best.”
Riku hummed. “That still doesn’t really tell us how to get him back.”
“I know. I wish I could help more but it’s hard when I can’t see him in person.”
“I can try to bring him to Radiant Garden, but I don’t know how he’ll react to the Gummi Ship. Or you.”
“If you can come, let me know. Oh, and you should probably tell the King. They couldn’t be there when Sora returned, I’m sure Donald and Goofy are worried.”
Riku nodded. “You’re right, thanks. I’ll let them know.”
“See you, Riku.”
“Have a good day, Ienzo.”
As soon as he hung up the phone, Sora was wrapped around his middle.
“Well, hello to you too.” Riku chuckled, accustomed to being randomly attacked by Sora. “Was I on the phone too long?”
Sora growled in response, arms tightening around Riku’s waist.
“You’re possessive today. Is everything ok?”
Sora grumbled.
“Bad day? Would you like something to eat?”
A mumbled noise behind him got Riku to turn around.
“Sora?”
His face was pinched, as if he was trying to think of something he couldn’t quite remember.
“…ku…Ri…ku…Riku! Riku, Riku!”
Riku grinned. “That’s right! I’m Riku!”
“Riku!”
“Come on, Sora, let’s eat.”
Sora grumbled again but followed Riku to the table.
There were two chairs at the table, but it seemed that Sora preferred to curl up as much as he could on Riku’s lap. It was almost as if the boy was touch starved and Riku realized with a jolt that he hardly hugged Sora anymore- keeping a distance unconsciously because he didn’t deserve Sora’s friendship, but couldn’t bring himself to actually leave.
He frowned, recognizing slowly that his fears and denials about his feelings were hurting his friend.
But he couldn’t say it. Not to this Sora.
“Hey, do you want to go on a trip today?”
Sora tilted his head.
“We can go see a friend who can help you.”
“Riku?”
“I’m going to take that as a yes,” Riku smiled, popping a piece of chicken into Sora’s mouth. “Remember you need to eat.”
Sora chewed and looked up at Riku, and the two finished their lunch quickly in this way before walking around the Island.
“Do you remember the Secret Place?” Riku asked as they wandered vaguely in that direction.
Sora, ever the silent shadow, had no response for Riku, though he did recoil slightly at the entrance, torn between following Riku and memories of the Secret Place.
“Sora?”
Tentatively, Sora stepped into the Secret Place, following Riku.
“We’ll be out of here soon. We just need the ship.” He herded Sora onto the Gummi Ship, smiling as Sora curled up at his feet. “Ready?”
The trip to Radiant Garden was, surprisingly, uneventful.
Getting from the Gummi Ship to the castle, however, was not.
Riku hadn’t counted on Leon, Cloud, and Yuffie showing up as soon as the ship landed.
“Sora?” Leon called, looking around for the kid.
Riku chuckled nervously. “He’s—ah—not himself right now. You guys might want to step back.”
“What happened?”
“I was hoping Ienzo would be able to help. Roxas- Sora’s Nobody who grew a heart- called it ‘Anti-Form.’ It’s… well…”
Sora bounded out of the Gummi Ship into Riku’s back.
“Sora!” Riku stumbled before turning and catching him. “I could have fallen.”
Sora muttered an apologetic, “Riku…” as the other three gaped.
“Sora?” Cloud questioned, stepping forwards. “Are you ok?”
Almost immediately, Sora growled, shifting into a defensive stance.
Cloud stepped back, confused. “What…?”
“He doesn’t really recognize anyone.”
“What can we do?”
Riku shrugged. “I’m about to ask Ienzo. I’ll let you know when we find something.”
Leon nodded. “We’ll clear the streets for you and Sora. Try to make sure you see the fewest people possible.”
“Thank you,” Riku smiled as they left, Sora relaxing at his side. “I’m sorry, Sora. I didn’t realize this would be so stressful.
Sora grumbled, curling close.
“Come on. We just have to talk to Ienzo, then we can go home.”
So on they went, streets blessedly empty thanks to Leon, Cloud, and Yuffie.
Ienzo looked up when the two entered the lab, smiling. “Hello.”
“Hi,” Riku replied with a wave. He kept a hand on Sora’s, making sure he didn’t hurt himself on the equipment. “Here we are.”
“How is he?” Ienzo asked, nodding towards Sora.
“He’s still not eating on his own, but he can say my name.”
“Riku! Riku, Riku!”
“Yes, Sora,” he laughed, “I’m right here.”
“Riku…” Sora all but purred, unaware of Ienzo’s stare.
“Well, that’s good.”
And with that, they got started. It took several hours, and Sora has gone to curl up in the corner before Ienzo sat back with a sigh.
“It seems that I am not the one who can help him.”
“What do you mean?”
“He can’t find his way back. Not all the way. But I’m not the one who can lead him home.”
“Who is?”
Ienzo chuckled. “I’m sure you can find the answer, Riku. He’s around you most often.”
“That’s not an answer.”
“It is,” he smirked. “Go home and think about it, I think Sora’s getting tired.”
Sora perked up at the sound of his name, chirruping tiredly.
“Alright,” Riku conceded, “Thank you for trying.”
“Of course.”
Days passed back on Destiny Islands.
It was getting harder for Riku; harder to be near Sora while he wasn’t really Sora, harder to keep his feelings in. Harder to stop thinking of Sora as his.
“Sora, why can’t you come back to me? To us?” Riku ran his fingers through Sora’s hair. “What else do you need?”
Sora curled further towards Riku’s hand, fingers gripping his shirt. “Riku… Riku.”
“Me? What do you need me to do?”
“Riku…” Sora whined.
Riku shifted, pressing his forehead to Sora’s. “I’m right here. Come home to me. I—I need you. You’re my Light, Sora. I—” He squeezed his eyes closed. “I love you.”
A sharp gasp above him had Riku opening his eyes, watching as the shadows retreated from Sora’s face and, for the first time in months, he gazed into crystal blue eyes.
“Sora,” he gasped, pulling the boy to him. “You’re back.”
Sora smiled, pulling back slightly. “Did you mean it, Riku? You love me?”
“Yes,” Riku laughed, “Gods, yes, Sora, I think I’ve loved you since we were kids.”
Sora grinned, eyes welling with tears. “I love you too, Riku. I love you.”
Riku choked on a sob before pulling Sora into a kiss.
“Welcome home, Sora.”

Top 5 Crack Fighters for Smash Ultimate.
Tagged by @pfrankly and @mahoshojogojiradesu.
Well, another day, another tag list. I don’t play a ton of Video Games but I do love me some Smash.
Rules:
First, choose 5 video game characters that you would like to see as fighters in Smash Ultimate and be as detailed as you’d like to be in why you chose them, what their moveset might be, etc. These characters do not need to be from a Nintendo franchise, nor do they need to come from a game that has been released on a Nintendo console. Any character goes!
Then, list any possible Echo Fighters that would make good additions to the fighter roster (these Echo Fighters do not count towards your top 5 characters). You can details about how these Echo Fighters would differ from your main pick, but you don’t have to.
Finally, tag a few people who you think would offer some interesting additions to the Smash roster (and, most importantly, have fun)!
(Spoilers ahead for some games)
1. Spyro the Dragon
Tumblr media
Pretty obvious choice, especially with the upcoming HD remake of the original games coming out!
Spyro’s primary move would obviously be his ability to ram into other combatants to deal damage, though this would also leave him at risk of missing his target and becoming easy pickings for a ranged attack. Naturally, he would also have firebreath, but only in small, limited bursts. To use Spyro correctly you would have to take advantage of his agility. You may not hit hard, but you sure as hell can hit fast and often.
Echo Fighter would be Crash Bandicoot. They seem to get teamed up a lot, so why the heck not?
2. Wander (Shadow of the Colossus)
Tumblr media
The well-intentioned though ultimately tragic boy who slayed giants to save his love.
The key aspect of Wander is his durability. He can take multiple hits and still not be phased. It will take something a little more, dare I say, colossal to knock Wander off balance. Like Link, Wander can preform close ranged combat with his sword while also using Bow and Arrow for ranged attack. If a character is large enough, Wander could cling on and deliver a devastating blow with his sword.
Echo Fighter: Dorman possessed Wander. Less maneuverable, but delivers MASSIVE damage to anyone unfortunate enough to encounter him.
3. Amanda Ripley (Alien: Isolation)
Tumblr media
It is very unlikely that we will ever see Sigourney Weaver agree to have her likeness portrayed fighting Mario and his buds in a powerloader (god, I wish.)
Fortunately for us, Video Games have given us an answer to introducing the dark world of Alien to Smash: Ellen Ripley’s daughter, Amanda, who it turns out also had an encounter with The Perfect Organism.
Ripley is quick and sneaky, able to fight if necessary, but avoids it if able. Instead, Ripley uses her tech skills to craft weapons from whatever she can get her hands on. Molotov Cocktails, Sound Grenades, if she has time to gather enough scrap, she’ll have something to send any foe packing. With that in mind, Ripley is, unfortunately, only human. It will not take much to send Ripley careening into the stratosphere, but like the Aliens she’s been forced to fight, she is a survivor.
Echo Fighter: Samuels. Unlike Ripley, Samuels is not Human. If he gets close, he can deal MASSIVE damage. Though he will be very polite about it.
4. Oliver (Ni No Kuni: Wrath of The White Witch)
Tumblr media
The Boy Wizard from another world. With his friends and the power of The Mornstar, Oliver can overcome any trial thrown at him.
Oliver is primarily a ranged fighter, able to deal massive damage with spells like Fire and Ice. He can also call upon his Familiars, many of which are capable fighters in their own right, to fight alongside him. Like most Long Range Fighters, Oliver is most susceptible to melee and close range combat, but thanks to his small stature, he is a target that proves sometimes difficult to hit. He also receives support from his closest ally, Mr. Drippy, who can heal Oliver in emergencies. This is limited however and usually only heals a small amount.
Echo Fighters: Shadar, Oliver’s dark, twisted counterpart in the alternate world. Unlike Oliver, Shadar is older and uses dark, ancient magic. Also unlike Oliver, Shadar deals devastating damage when he gets close.
5. Sora (Kingdom Hearts)
Tumblr media
Yeah, y’all knew this was coming.
Yet another duel Close Combat and Long Range Combat fighter. Sora can cast spells, but his specialty is whacking baddies with his Keyblade. I think it would be cool to be able to change the Keyblade into it’s various incarnations by picking up keychains that fall around the stage, changing the Keyblade’s stats and abilities. Different versions of Sora would forgo the color changes of the other characters and instead be the different versions of him we’ve had over time. (Original, KH2, 3D, Tron, Pirate, ect. All Humanoid versions obviously)
Echo Fighters: I know I should probably say Riku...
But let’s be real: it’s Donald and Goofy. I don’t care if Disney doesn’t want it’s characters in fighting games, it HAS to be the Trinity!
I’ll tag @horizendreamer, @borderwar-cowabunga, @small-lady-of-the-sea
