Briar's Tales (Plus concept animation)

Briar was born in the year that the wild rose bushes growing around her house bloomed the most vibrantly, thus how she got her name. 

Briar was no prodigy, her abilities all came from hard work and practice, or so she claims. Even as a Graveborn, she still spends most of her time honing her violin and magical skills.

The roses on Briar’s outfit and violin are picked straight from her garden, then preserved with magic. She specifically chose white roses, as she thought they fit her outfit more.

In her previous life, Briar dreamed of becoming one of the greatest musicians ever, and worked extra hard to pursue that dream. Now she has peaked as a violinist, but lost the chance to shine on stage forever.

Briar makes rose-scented candles from the roses in her garden, as well as the wild ones growing around her house. That way, she can still enjoy the flower scent when the roses are out of season.

Briar returned as a Graveborn after having passed away from a young age due to forcing herself to overwork. Now exhaustion will never be one of her concerns again.

At some point, Briar decided to send anonymous letters containing sheet music that she wrote all over the Lightbearers’ territory. But that only lasted for a short while, as she found out some people had frantically started searching for the author of those sheet music.

Briar claims that Cecia looks exactly like a taller and more mature version of someone she knows, but nobody believes her.

There have been reports of hauntingly beautiful violin sounds at night. People try to follow the sound, but as they arrive at the scene, all they see are just a few petals of white roses, while the music has already ceased to play.

Having wasted her life because of something she had complete control over, Briar believes that becoming immortal and being forced to witness the death of her loved ones is the price she has to pay.

thank you all for the advice, sympathies, and concerns. i appreciate it greatly.

but i legitimately think im gonna have to kill this thing. or at least try.

i have no way of proving this and it could very well just be the stress of the situation, but i think it's somehow making me sick. ive been having the worst night terrors of my life, waking up bruised and extremely ill, and (like i mentioned in the tags of my original post) my eye has been bleeding. ill post a picture if anyone's interested but idk if it's too gruesome for tumblr.

some of yall have been saying to feed it + house it, which feels slightly absurd to me given how overtly threatening it has been, and a handful have mentioned contacting either an exorcist or "The Pines", both of which i do not have the means to do. i have never had the desire to hurt another living thing in my entire life before. i cry when i squash bugs in my attempts to take them outside. but then again, i haven't been feeling like myself. and i am overwhelmingly terrified.

i don't have my gun license but i do have a toolshed and knife block. i am not very strong but i dont feel like i have any other option. if anyone has any better ideas id love to hear them now because i do feel my life is in serious danger. it tries to grab me when i peek in the bathroom.

STUMBLES IN COVERED IN BLOOD. hi! sorry i haven’t posted art in a while!!!! i redrew every single isat battle portrait. including 15 custom sprites, totalling up to 78 sprites total. use these for anything you want!! as long as i’m credited and it’s not for commercial purposes, go nuts!!!

i labeled all of the custom sprites as such in the drive, but for anyone that doesn’t want to sift through that, the custom sprites are bigfrin damage (2), act 6 siffrin KO and timefreeze, mira timefreeze, bonnie hurt, KO, buff, and timefreeze, and All Of Loop’s Sprites. the wiki doesn’t include the act 5 buff sprite but like. i assume it exists so i’m not counting it as custom.

anyways!! this took about 2 Weeks of drawing every day. i literally drew for like 8 hours straight on one of those days. siffrin here has 39 PORTRAITS IN TOTAL i’m not kidding. that’s straight up half of all the sprites. he doesn’t need that many.

i promise. i will not be making more redraws. for at least a week. i will resist the temptation to draw the battle cgs i promise i swear i prommy. this was really fun to work on!!!! really made me appreciate just how much adrienne drew for this game jesus christ. god’s strongest soldier. with all that aside, here’s all of the portraits! enjoy!! falls over dead on the ground
