FORGOTTEN LAND'S SECOND ANNIVERSARY :3

I AM SOOOO BACK

I started this drawing yesterday around afternoon and finished it just a few minutes earlier.

I went with a messier type of drawing instead of more clean like the elfilin one from yesterday, i find it fun doing it like this, mostly cause i dont have to worry about making it perfectly so i dont get as frustrated as normal. Id place this one as my second best digital drawing. im pretty sure i havent posted what i consider my best digital drawing here, tho i do have it in instagram, i might post it here one day, tho these two are way too tied up, i love how this came out, its not exactly like how i imagined it but its really close to it, and also itd say that since i dont tend to play around lighting that much, this was such a joy to draw and i cant help but stare at it a lot, at least until i start hating it because i made quite a lot of errors. i also changed my elfilis gijinka just a tad bit from last time, but its not that big of a difference, mostly.

ofc i had to draw elfilis for forgotten land's anniversary, i tend to deny it in my head but yeah they're my fave of the kirby characters even tho i hate them a bit. I wanted to draw some more doodles, like, elfilis eating cake, kirby car, a bunch of other stuff (not elfilin cuz i already drew him yesterday) but when i tried i couldnt draw anything more, guess this drawing burned me out a lot, huh?

you can definitly tell i spent all the efforts on him cuz if you look a bit closer to the bottom part you'll see its almost barely detailed, but i mean, they're the focus so make sense i guess for me not add that much detail there. um also, maybe because i dunno i had OVER 130 LAYERS jeez no wonder firealpaca was slowing down so much, i need to manage my layers better next time, tho i did do something i keep forgetting, wich is naming them (most of them at least) that was a real life saver

Also, antares (fecto elfilis' spear/cadaceus), as always, was a pain to draw, but this time its probably been draw the most accurate out of every other drawing ive made with it in it, i didnt notice it was like, a little curved when it reached the blade

fun fact! actually, this is technically a redraw, somewhere around between february and march i started a fecto elfilis drawing for the first anniversary, but i couldnt finish it in time, and i never finished it

also his wings are like that cuz i did not want to draw the pattern, its way too hard, i literally copy pasted it, wait, i was talking about the 2024 version but i looked at the 2023 one and i just noticed it also has the pattern copy pasted, i guess some stuff never changes since i still abuse the ctrl+c ctrl+v to this day

Also i ended up making a huge error there, i was planing to add the phantom spears from orbital pulsar (the attack he does first when you battle them at lab discovera) but theres an innacuracy, when they do the attack, they always close their eyes, i had actually sketched him (well i mean both these drawings are basically the first sketch (2023) or second sketch(2024) with some color, shadows and lighting. i didnt do lineart in the 2024 one cuz i wanted to be a bit like the og i made (too bad i sketched that one with black since the og was sketched with white due to me drawing the bg first)) with his eyes closed but them decided to make them open for a reason i cant remember, maybe i thought itd look nicer? idk

I really love katfl, like a buncha whole lot, its basically almost my first mainline kirby game. 100% the demo, finished the game in almost one day, i literally play it monthly, like, every month i put the card in my switch, start it up, get morpho sword, and go shred elfilis in lab discovera. i would probably not even be here on tumblr and the kirby fandom if it werent for it. and i love it so much i genuinly cannot express how much i like it and treasure it with words or anything

When I usually state my opinion about something, I don’t really say it with the intention of having others lean towards it one way or another, I simply state it to get something off my chest.

Hemera is, without a shadow of a doubt, my favorite Sparklecare character. I never would’ve imagined that this would be the case, but nonetheless I strive to make content revolving her whenever I can.

But, just like rolling a rock up a hill, it’s seemingly becoming more and more common for this fox to have… something of sort happen, which inevitably leads to out roar and hate and whatever the fuck people come up with. I used to be apart of that crowd, I will admit, and I can see where these people are coming from.

If you were to show me dialog from V1 and V4 spoken by Hemera, I would’ve assumed that they were two different people. Hemera doesn’t feel like a main lead anymore, rather a side character that gets outshined by the other leads. It makes you think that this whole ordeal is necessary, when it really just causes more confusion and mistreatment of the fox by the community.

And the fact that this hatred only got worse around the time V3 came out, with it hinting in multiple pieces of teaser material that she was going to DIE, only for KC to be like "You all REALLY thought I was going to kill off Hemera" YEAH??? What the fuck does this shit mean then????

Reminder that the volume before this revealed that Hemera suffers from the trauma of having THE LIMBS OF SOMEONE SHE CARED ABOUT STITCHED TO HER BODY

I'm writing these all where the character of the post talks second and I'm doing it in reverse character order because I wanted to start with ABA becausei like her. Akashi for the ship tier list please, because i'm very predictable

Ok Im not going to give a long explanation about each ship. But I totally am going to give an explanation about most of them.

Senpai♡♡♡: My top 1(they share a position) ships with Akashi, his first captain(and love) and his shadow. I could go on a rant about why they both make such good pairs but then this post would exceed 100,000 words. Ill just conclude by saying that they are top tier(literally)

SS+: MidoAka & TakaAka(they are a package deal) are absolutely adorable. I live both of them Individually but I prefer TakaAka along witb Mido(because MidoTakaAka is superior)

MibuAka: Ive already explained my thoughts on these two about a 100 times so ill just summarize. Both of them love each other so much it doesnt even matter whether its romantic or platonic. Reo just cares about Akashi so much and Akashi views Reo as someone so special to him its just a very good ship.

NashAka: Nash has a crush on Akashi. Enough said.

AoAka: Also have spoken about them quite a bit. Their friendship is so sweet and they have so much trust and faith in each other. They think so highly of eachother. Plus that dialogue in the kuroko's birthday ova was very cute.

KiAka: Very cute and fluffy pairing. Akashi saw Kise's potential from the beginning and encourage him to grow. Kise would definitely include akashi in a bunch of them and make him happy.

SS: This post is getting very long and I want to talk more about the other tiers so ill just include all of them here. All of these ships are very cute and Akashi would benefit a lot from these relationships. The friendships alone are great and the characters themselves are some of Akashi's greatest friends. Riko and Akashi would be a spectacular duo and im not elaborating any further.

I read one fic about these and I see the vision: I read a HanaAka fic(Beyond the waiting room and its sequel by sweet rosei) and I absolutely adored it. It does not only have the ship but it also talks about akashi's mental health, the selectivism about violence and Hanamiya's violence as well. Overall great fic 10/10 would recommend. Im definitely more open to this ship because of it.

OgiAka is a very special ship. I imagine that after the winter cup the GoM apologise to Ogiwara for the 111-11 match and afterwards Ogiwara asks akashi whether he likes basketball and this time Akashi says yes and I think it would be a very cute moment between the two.

Brothers: I know that AkaAka is a ship(pretty weird if you ask me) but I really cant see them as anything other than brothers. They love and care for each other more than anything. Bokushi was created to protect Oreshi and would do anything for him. One of my favorite things about them is thr character song "Return" when Akashi says " Now along with my other self" or something along those lines and its just so sweet that Oreshi is bringing his little brother with him on his healing journey.

Polyam: NijiHaiAka and MuraHimuAka that is all

Respect it but no thanks: Ive already explained my thoughts on AkaFuri before. All I will say is that I prefer their friendship more than their romantic relationship. Mostly because the fandom ruined it for me.

Soulbonded: Akashi and Kuroko's relationship cannot be justified with a word as simple as romance. Their bond is so deep it goes deeper than the mariana trench.

idk how to describe it bc i still need to collect my thoughts, but like Avra is very SK-adjacent as it is, sooo im basically wondering 'how close to godhood can i put Zenix, who is canonically one of the most powerful sks, before someone calls me out for favouritism',,,

and like i still feel like that's not an accurate summary of what i'm trying to figure out for im but it'll do

First things first: You are fully allowed to play favorites with characters, especially when those characters have amazing plot points but no lore. Zenix had so much goin for him but was never truly explored while being integral to the plot. So objectively speaking, it's less favoritism and more properly fleshing out a character. He is majorly important and needs to be a favorite.

Second: you can probably get Zenix really close to godhood, especially if you explain it well. You have mentioned before that there are other gods in your series so having Zenix be the child of a minor god would already grant him a natural boost on top of being a shadow knight. It would also explain how he was able to do some of the things he did.

Third: Zenix was incredibly powerful base series, as you mentioned, and it is never fully explained how or why. We don't know how he became a shadow knight, and his entire mystery does need an answer. He managed to get enough souls/materials TO GET TO THE WYVERN DIMENSION!

Fourth: We all literally have our own little blorbos and if I haven't been called out on favoritism for Liochant yet (Despite how obvious it is) I think you are good.

it's funny that 2/3 of the companions i ship astarion (the 3 being halsin, wyll and karlach) with are people who are objectively just lovely, selfless people but in a way that's just... too far. both in their own ways don't acknowledge they give/have given too much away for the good of others and a big part of the healing they need is setting even a single limit on what's "too far".

(under the cut cos it got long but this is more a ramble about character dynamics than romantic stuff so please enjoy even if you don't care for the 'ship' aspect. ive also got a LOT to say about karlach but i don't here im sorry i love her so much pls--)

wyll's willing to give his immortal soul (TWICE) for the sake of a city and father that turned his back on him with barely a moment to reflect on the unfairness to himself (at least in a 'and that's why it shouldn't be expected of me' way, anyway). halsin's given a hundred years of devoted research to the shadowcursed lands and cut himself off from deeper connections in order to remain committed to lifting the curse, not the mention the way he skirts around really acknowledging his trauma from the Underdark as a trauma instead of just a Fun Halsin Fact!TM

now... like all relationships between companions this is a compelling area without any romantic undertones, this is more what's driving my interest in the ships at all, but i find the above level of self-sacrifice really interesting in contrast to astarion. similarly, setting boundaries doesn't initially come naturally to him - he's not in the practice of being able to say no, and getting through the 'disgust' is something he tries to handwave as worth it for the rewards. but when in control, he's very much got selfish goals in mind. personal safety, mostly, being considered useful enough to keep around under the protection of the artefact. and in addition his moral compass is very much not aligned with the above, but does seem to shift in that direction the more compassion he's shown. it's never all the way flipped but... still.

two things that are interesting about that - both the selfish and selfless goals are, in isolation, completely understandable? save a city? well that's a good thing! protect yourself? can't argue with that!! but "no matter the cost to my mental and physical health" ooh never mind. astarion is, out of the three, seemingly much better positioned to understand and admit that? which is what's particularly interesting about either wyll or halsin's relationship (romantic or not) with him. cos any efforts they make to help astarion out with his own boundary issues and healing creates a big ol' elephant in the room with their own deal that i think astarion would, like, push back on y'know? he's already incredulous about heroes and do-gooders for both understandable and dnd-evil reasons but once an established rapport comes into play, then you get that incredibly tasty dimension of "okay, so you spent all that energy encouraging me not to loan myself out to make us stronger but you're gonna sell your eternal soul to a demon for a bit of information? and you're going to keep neglecting any aspect of your life that isn't shadow-curse related, to the point where you rushed in to enemy territory without regard for your safety and would have died if we hadn't stepped in?"

it's just such a chewable way of a bond developing right? both sides changing each other with something they initially might have found deplorable/insufferable about the other? but it both ultimately resulting in healthier boundary setting and the valuing of their own bodies and hhrhghruguhgguh. which is the sort of thing i Need when it comes to ships. man. oog. the list of little scenes i need to write gets longer by the second i swear. we can add shadowheart to the "dynamics i need to explore with wyll" list too ahrghr oogrhg

it's also making bl**dweave conceptually more interesting as an antithesis to this although i honestly haven't stumbled on anything that actually fits this particular niche so [handwaves] but to me that's two men who are gonna make each other Worse actually (this is not inherently a bad thing for Drama but all im saying is im pretty sure if you put those two together for too long you'll end up with a god + ascended ending ok). censoring the ship name cos i see much more fluffy stuff and im not here to ruin fun with opposing headcanons in a search ahaha

Daisies

It was early morning, the sun carefully rising up to welcome the fresh blue of the morning sky into the world that many were barely waking up in. Though "many" did not include a certain stressed out, dark colored hedgehog and his rather delighted, brightly colored friend. Both awake either due to it being one of their usual routines, and the other because of the event that'd been planned for today. Shadow was much more focused about cleaning himself, their clothes, and this place they'd been using as a home for a while now.

"He's going to be here any minute now!" Both of the early risers had said, Amy with an eagerness in her voice and the latter with an anxious tone, unsure if he was expected to make some sort of snack to offer their guest or not. Why was he so worried about this? Well, the guest in question was actually someone quite bizarre, even strange as some others could say, for one simple fact alone. Their guest was a mobian willing to actually be Shadow and Silver's friend.

Silver, who'd been enjoying sleeping in, woke up due to the ruckus Amy and Shadow's rummaging around made, the sound of Shadow's giant boots especially causing him to stirr. Without needing any demands from his brother though, he went about getting himself ready and primed to go, using his powers to make and levitate some breakfast to himself just in time as a knock had came from the front door. The sound had snapped Shadow out of his cleaning frenzy and took the three hedgehogs' attention over to the barely awake seeming goat that was waiting outside.

"Hey, I forgot to turn on my alarm but no worries, the sun blinded me. Sooo, you two ready to go?" Stickers said casually, gently kicking his foot across the ground as he smiled to the happy Rose that had greeted him. "Hi! Yes, of course they are!! Cmon, cmon, off you all go! Enjoy your walk!! Have fun", Amy excitedly ushered them out as she spoke, the brothers making surprised noises of complaint due to the suddenness of the action.

Before they knew it, they were already outside, the orange and cream colored goat nearly stumbling backwards. By the time their guest caught himself, he was already heading off with an almost unbalanced stride. "Alright then i guess, c'mon! Where we're heading is real nice. I'm sure you two will like it- maybe. Im hoping you will." With that, they'd all began heading out towards one of the forested paths, the sound of their feet traversing the terrain and Sticker's tail wagging in silent excitement being the majority of the only sounds that disrupted the noises the forest made.

It'd been a couple of minutes now after having heading out, and while they didn't feel tired, they couldn't seem to place down why their rare companion wanted to do this of all things over maybe eating at a cool restaurant. Silver was the first to disrupt the quiet. "So, why did you want to walk out here again? I know we're heading somewhere but we could've gotten you there a lot faster than you, you know, youre pretty slow", the gray hedgehog said in an almost judgemental tone, earning a jab in the side from his darker brother, "ow- hey! I was just asking!"

Stickers's ears flopped up for a second before resting back in their usual position, the fluffy mobian turning to look toward his new friends with a grin. "No big reason really, I just really like seeing how pieces of the world have changed since I've left them. I've been here many times, yet everytime I pass through here the forest always shares something new and wonderful", he hummed a bit, looking around and getting a small skip to his walk, the muffled sound of the contents in his backpack rustling together joining each of his excited movements.

The two squinted their eyes a bit in confusion to the response they'd been given. "Im...sorry- if this comes across as rude but what does that even mean?" Shadow furrowed his brows a bit as he'd spoken, not understanding the weird mystical wizard message the goat gave. Making a small amused face though, Stickers just chuckled as he responded. "Oh, I just like lookin's at stuff. Like those weeds, they're pretty, aren't they?" He'd pointed off to some small wildflowers that were trying to grow out of a mix of grass and tree roots.

It took the two a second to slow down and really stare at the sight, letting Stickers pass them a little, they hadn't even noticed those flowers around before. As they stopped to see the tiny wild flower patch, they began noticing other types of flowers were all around them too, hidden between grass blades and the shadows of trees. All of them were such different colors and sizes. Even the same kinds had something special to it, richer colors or more pastel hues. How long had these all been around them? How many flowers had they torn apart in their father's missions, all without even noticing they were there to begin with?

"Huh...I guess they really are...Yeah, they're nice..", the dark hedgehog said quietly, his awe interrupted by the sound of Silver letting out an excited "ooo" noise. He then noticed his brother's eyes seemed to light up with a feeling he knew he must've had taking over his own face too, wonder. "Yeah! They're real nice. It's hard not to just stop and look at them, buuut- I'll try not to slow you both down to watch. Where we're heading is even nicer anyways", Stickers said, trying to speed up a little and avoid getting too distracted. Despite this, the ex-villains found themselves now walking at the same pace as their traveler companion. With their eyes feelings drawn to finding as many new sights as possible, they couldn't help but be enthralled by the scenery, nature whistling around them softly.

The rest of their hike was spent with the sheltered mobians asking about some types of plants, Stickers telling them or admitting he doesn't know either, and them enjoying the walk. At some point, it seemed the flowers were getting scarce on their path, only tiny yellow flowers decorating their path. In response, the not-as-fancily dressed wanderer's tail began wagging more as he began trying to run, sometimes jokingly nudging one of the brothers as they all began traveling up the path, encouraging them to join in play until they were all lightheartedly speed walking and shoving each other in unrewarded competition. It was a bit difficult, and they did have moments of panic where one might've shoved their not super-powered friend into the floor or a tree. Regardless though, Stickers would always laugh, scratch away at any dirt at his fur, and rush back to shove whoever had done it and speed off further down their path.

This lasted for a while until suddenly, Stickers had grabbed their hands and practically rolled them off the path a bit, the two nearly going into defense mode on him for this until they quickly noticed the world he'd yanked them into. They'd fallen into a sea of white flowers, the scent of a very subtle version of that classic plant smell hitting them in the rush of falling into them. Stickers rolled himself up into a sitting position and sighed contently, laughing a bit as he saw the confusion on the two's faces.

"What- what are these?" The hedgehogs asked, almost at once as they were in complete shock at the lovely sight they'd landed into, Silver sounding more excited and desperate to know. Happily setting down some cases full of foods and drinks he'd gathered for their trip, the he-goat grinned and gently brushed his hand through some of the flowers around him. "They're daisies! Though on another note, let's eat. We had a long hike and I'm starving!"

As they took in their surroundings, Shadow and Silver pulled themselves up and sat by Stickers, slowly letting themselves relax in the cluster of whites, purples, and yellows as they got their shares of what this strange friend had brought for them to eat. Letting themselves sit still within the daisies, it was hard not to notice why exactly Stickers wanted to bring them here. It was beautiful. The trees, while providing them shade, were spread out to make a clearing that held flowers that soaked in the sun's light, the grass a thriving green, and not too far from it was a nice creek that glistened like it was magical.

Everything worked together to highlight other details, like a painting, perfected from what could've been thousands of years to make this exact image. Silver and Shadow were in awe, just smiling as they enjoyed their meals and took in the melody of the forest around them, every distant animal noise, the rustle of the trees being shaken by the breeze, and every song the wind brushing against the other types of flora brought. It was nice. It was pretty.

Who knew this was all just out of their reach. They began to realize what Amy was trying so hard to protect exactly. They'd never experienced it themselves to fully understand her love before, never thought to find what she saw in things until now. Now they saw that this was what she'd been defending all this time. This is what was worth fighting for, daisies.

aaaaand welcome to the official announcement of the winners for the first round of the came back wrong showdown! i'm your host, the admin, and i'm here to announce the wins and the overall results of the poll so far!

following much debate about whether or not dokja came back wrong or he came back the same because he was Always wrong, jason todd takes the first lead with a very funny margin! congratulations to everyone who voted jason!

now, our next poll caused quite the stir everywhere, we've seen decent amounts of propaganda from both sides of rosamund and buffy supporters — but in the end, buffy came out victorious alongside the loud cheers and shouts of over a thousand votes in the whole poll!

and in a shocking turn of events, william wisp, the character with the second most submissions, fails to take the win against sydney sargent of camp here and there. that aside, we've heard that both franchises often land against each other in poll brackets, perhaps it's fate after all~

next up we have the character the host is totally not rooting for, mitsuba sousuke against leif from bug tales! [you know. as a person who has seen a bit of both franchises— Personal commentary is not allowed! Please disclose such information somewhere else, host!] anyway, with lots of propaganda from both sides, mitsuba comes out with the win for this one with 61.1% from an overall 627 votes!

now, here are two characters we've been told are the exact same person with only very minor differences. while we can swear putting them against one another was unintentional, shadow lands the funny number win against the macaque! congratulations!

and here is yet another stirring poll, with akane kurashiki and owen harper at each other's tails for supposedly the first few hours, akane steals the crown with a fair margin of 63.3% ! we congratulate all her supporters and wish owen luck in a possible reanimation round!

okay, we'll be honest. this one was... interesting. while link took an unfortunate loss against the prehistoric fauna, it's nice to see a margin that's closer than our usual. someone's already said it but they should really make link vs dinosaurs into the next game. anyway, congratulations, dinosaur truthers!

and here we have another funny little thing. frankenstein's monster, we repeat, the monster folks, wins against tsukasa yugi by a large ratio. while that in itself is hilarious, for those familiar with jshk as well as tsukasa's ties with mitsuba, who got a win, it's a bit funnier. or maybe that's just me

the following poll felt a bit quieter when it came to propaganda, but the results have come to light and gideon nav was pronounced the winner in round one! we wish everyone who voted well and for those who voted celica, i'd keep my eyes open for a possible reanimation round!

didn't want to ask this in the replies but what is your process like for designing clothing for characters bc not only do they look gorgeous but you always put so much thought into your stuff, esp the historical kind. it smthin i've always kind of struggled with tbh and you make it so interesting

oh man it kinda. varies? depending on what kind of clothing i want out of a character. this gets kinda long too but bear w me lol

the fashion pieces i do, i spend a lot of time going thru fashion editorials for poses and pick up pieces of different outfits or silhouettes that i want out of a piece. for stuff like a set occupation (hunter, butcher, blacksmith) it's abt knowing time period and finding the pattern between different photos.

the more complicated ones are like. odelia and euan. where im creating a whole piece that's frankensteined from a couple different styles (rococo, georgian, regency, etc). i think the three main types of information i depend on are Goal, Silhouette, and Fabric.

so Odelia and Euan. the goals for them are very different, bc Odelia strives to be the center of attention while Euan tries to blend in with the background.

Odelia needs something extravagant and flashy, maybe brightly colored and shiny; pastels and wide skirts would be good for her, and rococo is a good place to find both. satin is good for shine and lace is good for detail, and both are relatively light materials. Euan would want something a little more subdued, possibly a tighter silhouette so he's not taking up much space. i found a picture of a russian noble while i was sifting thru various noble clothing designs, and i liked the way the silhouette was tighter and cleaner. he'd also need darker colors if he wants to hide in the shadows. i like the way darker colors look in velvet, and it's a thicker, heavier fabric, which was another trait in the photo i was referencing. i also like the weight and thickness of quilted fabric so throw that in there for fun and detail. lastly, being as they're twins and high priests, they need a way to tie the designs to each other, and i settled on a thicker neckline that suits both styles in different ways. the finished concept looks a bit like this.

granted this is always subject to change, and its a v simple version of the design i want, but its a good start

with designs like that i also like looking for textiles! rococo patterns are so pretty too, so i picked one for Euan as well. the off white would be shared between the two designs, the lighter blues for Odelia, and the darker blues for Euan

wheeze that's a rough estimation of how i go thru designs, there's a type of practicality and personality i want out of most of them so i try to research what i can when i want smth specific. part of this is admittedly bc i. am a lil obsessed w period clothing, so i already have some of that in my back pocket, but i also think just typing in "[year] fashion" is a fair place to start. regardless, having fun is a Must when you're designing clothes for a character so dont forget that bit lol. i wish you luck and godspeed, friend!

Sorry friend I’m behind something g force with my responses. I’ll get to them all but life is crazy right now.

All the Hamato clan members get nimpos. It is the power of the families love for one another. Bio kids and adopted kids all get powers (even in-laws might get power) as long as the clan accepts you your good.

I am still planing some of the powers out for characters. I know the twins for sure.

Sakura

Her nimpo is a pastel pink

Her’s is based of of the spells sunbeam or sunburst in dnd with my own flare.

She glows. As she gets control she can determine the brightness and also manipulate other light sources.

When she is young they are blinding flashes of light that blinds the people around her.

She learns how to control her glow. She can limit it to certain parts of her body (glowing eyes) and she will act as a walking glow stick in dark areas.

Later she learns how to manipulate other light sources, such as fire embers into dancing shapes. Sparkles of light dancing around. She used this to enhance dance performances but also to distract enemies.

She thought it was a little lame when she was younger but grew to really love her power. She plays with light all the time bending the shape and creating colors.

It will be fun to play with this as both a combats power and a defensive power.

Ume

Her nimpo is a pastel orange

She actually has two abilities.

The fist is invisibility. This makes her the opposite of her twin. Where Sakura glows Ume disappears. I think she often feels in her out going twins shadow and their powers show that dynamic.

Eventually Ume comes into her own. Her ability is super helpful on missions and Sakura often used her light to distract from where her twin is.

The second power is astral projection. Her spirit appears as a pastel orange version of her. She can move around unknoticed at first but as she gets more practice her projection can have a caporal form as well.

She is the spy of the group.

Jotaro and Kaida

I am still debating these two.

You suggested fire for Kaida but I already have some fire plans for someone else.

But it did make me think of ice and fire for them but as stated I have fire planed for someone else.

I will let you know when I have the two of them figured out.

(Though Kaida with fire reminds me of a dnd campaign I did with my friends. I got chese/blessed with fire powers. I tried to make a flame in my palm to light up a cave for my companions but I failed the roll and set myself on fire. My dm tried to give me damage and I argued back that I was Tiefling and was fire resistant. They agreed that I took no damage and oh boy was that a mistake. I lit myself on fire all the time from then on. We need light? I’m on fire. We need to intimidate an enemy? Fire. Poor sales man doesn’t discount items? I set myself on fire and threaten to burn down the store. Needless to say fire abilities and me do not mix well.)

i. real question ok so whats up with this pre attack glance screen

acxording to this mr slay has 2 attacks which will do ten damage right. and that would be 20 damage, which like ok yeah this is a grown ass man with a lance on horseback that makes sense. and like based on previous child battle knowledge they always do one damage, which explains our worried boy lowering slay from 27, to 26 (as seen in that red bubble above the health bar). however. that same red bubble is now telling me that worried boy will take. four damage?? i assume closer to 8 looking at the two different glowy segments, but like still that doesnt add up. in my previous fremblem expereince, this before stabbing screen did all the calculstions for you already, but even assuming it doesnt, our boy evidently onky has 3 defense, which even in he most generous idea of both hits get subtracted by 3, then. ohhhh then thats 7×2 an thats 14 which leaves him with four i see now.

well since the above question has been deduced bettwr question whats up with the bars here what do they mean

Ok here are some answers

A. Yeah the voice acting is pretty good

B. Honestly I'm not really a big fan of the premontions at the start. I would rather they not be there

C. Yeah definitly gonna be the kids slapping him. Definitly

D. Yes, those are some pretty good classes indeed

E. Yeah the expressioms are based on how the combat will go

F. Yeah echoes animations go hard

G. Wdym it's kiterally the thing that says hit right there above attack?

H. Rip faye, you won't be missed that much (also she isn't dead)

I. Ok so that's because echoes starts out on the confusing menu. You can change it back to the normal fire emblem battle forecast in the settings. But basically the red bubble is how much health is left after the attack assuming they all hit. But the attack stat is how much damage you do BEFORE defense and it's just needlessly confusing for no reason. I recommend just changing it in the settings to be the usual fire emblem forecast. Also, those white bars are the bonuses to avoid, so basically, by standing on a grave you get an addative 60% more avoid

And yeah, that's about it

Sorry to bother you with this i love all your takes except the shadow ones </3 but speaking of him and not even as being my fave but "blorbo in law" i have to disagree and defend him. Personally as an only game enjoyer i think his character hasn't been butchered like people say at least in the games except for forces(with the infinite thing), by contrast in all the other sonic media (that sega hasn't confirm canon btw)yeah there i can clearly see the butchery and occ moments and also a lot of misinformation due to his popularity that is exaggerated that has created a distorted version of him, maybe your dislike and desinterest of him has to do more with the fans and fanon perception influence? And the fact that with his polularity he is bound to be shoved everywhere, cuz to me the distorsion about his character comes from fans and outside sonic media that are not the games.

Also it's kinda funny and not a coincidence to me your love for gerald(not that he isn't interesting but come on he didn't love shadow, that was his creation and possession to help and save maria, yeah it is a complex relationship with affection for his creation but not love)(and i can never side with the doctor frankestain archetype as a good guy) and dislike for shadow lol fhdh Anyway those are my two cents trying to see it from a more neutral position✌excuse my english

hm.

1) it’s true i fucking HATE fanon shadow. people scrape off all of his interesting personality bits to make him more palatable and shippable. often they just make him exactly like knuckles but with More Trauma and slightly Angrier and that annoys the hell out of me.

2) it is also true that i hate the marketing they do with him. i hate the sonic twitter takeovers with him. and i HATE how he’s just often shoved into places where he shouldn’t have been (ie sonic colors & sonic frontiers twitter takeovers. he wasn’t IN THOSE GAMES. why is he THERE). they’re using him as a markability tool and little else and that’s honestly a huge disgrace.

3) my main issue with game shadow and other versions of him is that i just don’t like the direction they took with his character, at the very least lore wise. i think he should have stayed dead. sa2 was a narrative best self contained. the whole amnesia plot line was fucking stupid considering sa2 was ABOUT discovering shadow’s past. why have him forget it. the alien thing is fucking hilarious but also objectively kinda dumb as well. they brought shadow back from the dead and didn’t have a cohesive story for him because his arc was already solidified in sa2 and they just. keep repeating that arc over and over again, of him being Mad and then remembering Maria’s promise and then becoming Normal. because they want to keep shadow as sonic’s edgy rival without giving him a good enough reason to be. boom & forces are the worst examples of this. that’s my main issue with him. they don’t know what to do with him- his story is basically over with but they keep bringing him back over and over for no reason.

4. there’s honestly not that much evidence to support that gerald DIDNT love shadow. he literally gives shadow a soul based on maria in sonic battle. he cheers shadow on to destroy the black arms in shadow the hedgehog 2005. i really do think that gerald did love shadow, which makes it a whole other layer of tragedy for gerald to decide his hate for humanity outweighed his love for shadow and altered his memories to destroy the world. im just not fond of the narrative that gerald never loved shadow and only thought of him as an object when i don’t particularly think that’s true. i think it erases a whole level of nuance to both gerald’s character and shadow’s frustrations. he loved you but that wasn’t enough.
