Yes, your body still needs exercise. Yes, your body still needs good food that actually nourish you. Yes, that food can be a lot of different types of food including fucking carbohydrates. No, you don’t need to look like Bella Hadid to be healthy. Try to run a marathon, try to dance, try to box, try to be more flexible, try to lift weights, try to climb, try something that is physically challenging but that actually helps you and works for you and that won’t make u less healthy by obsessing over it. Try for yourself and fail. Try again. Try a thousand times until you get it right and then try another thousand things and keep trying until you die. Just don’t hate yourself for your body.

I used your sleep paralysis video and I entered the void state so easily. I'm acctually kinda annoyed right now because I was wasting so much time before.
What I manifested:
1. Finished college cuz girl, I was so fucking over it but now I made it so this semester is my last and ofc I revised so I had all As
2. Desired body, basically I'm out here with tinashes body
3. Desired face, Id just look at women who I thought were pretty (tinashe, beyonce, saweetie, jhene, the blackpink girls, anne hathaway, madison beer, megan fox, gigi/bella hadid) and I'd kinda just be like oh I like her eyes, I like her nose etc and then I just manifested my ideal perfect face and girl I look so good
4. I manifested winning this scholarship so I paid off all my student debt and have some money leftover
5. A cute apartment with my bf
6. Just being healthy, like I've always been kinda sick 24/7 iykyk but now I'm just healthy and living my best life
Yay, I'm happy for you anon 💗

i think we really need to accept that everyone’s body is different. some women are born with natural curves and a fat ass. some women are born with long slender petite bodies. no workout out routine is going to give you your dream body unless you have the bone structure and fat distribution to match. if you don’t have a long torso and a small ribcage then you probably won’t look like bella hadid after your pilates routine. if your body distributes weight to your stomach first instead of your ass then you probably won’t look like megan thee stallion after a glute routine. REALIZING that everyone’s bodies are different and require different things is not fucking ROCKET SCIENCE. every fat person you see is not unhealthy. every skinny person you see does not have an eating disorder. it’s a such a massive cope to me. people will see a naturally curvy woman and think she had a bbl because they can’t fathom a body that works different from theirs. people will see a skinny woman and assume she starves herself because they can’t fathom a body that works different from theirs. regardless, if you aren’t learning about your body and taking care of your body to be HEALTHY then you’ll always be in tough shit. there are 8+ billion people on the planet and you think what works for others will necessarily work for you???? fuck no. learn your body people. you wanna look like another fucking person when the body you have is the one you get. accept it, learn it, love it or go forever hating yourself ✌🏽💗

the vs model method.
VS angels have two different ‘modes’:
1. pre-catwalk prep — this is where you see the more extreme workout routines and stupid diet protocols (think: adriana lima only drinking liquids for a week leading up to the show or bella hadid doing 2 hours of boxing everyday.) not sustainable long term and leads to yo-yoing.
2. maintenance mode — this is their more relaxed approach that they do to stay in shape year round, but not absolutely ultra lean like they are during the show. the standard healthy diet and workout approach for models.
for this post i will be focusing on the first.
Tumblr media
typical stats:
height: 5’8” - 6’0”
average waist size: 23.6in
average hip size: 34.4in
average weight: varies a lot, as measurements are the most important in the fashion industry. not scale weight.
Tumblr media
the 5 tactics for VS angels:
1. resistance training is an absolute must — if the angel wants to reduce muscle, then they will avoid this and stick to more low weight/cardio based routines. however, for most models leading up to the show weight lifting is a requirement. lifting weights improves body composition by reducing fat and increasing muscle mass. this is how they look “toned” and not soft. they perform at least 2 sessions per week, however they will do up to 5 depending on their goals.
2. workout classes — boxing, pilates, ballet beautiful, spinning, etc. they attend at least 1 class of their preference each week. each class would be at least 20mins.
3. cardio — can be either a workout alone or thrown in at the end of weight training. both HIIT and LISS are used. HIIT cannot be performed more than 3x a week or else it interferes with recovery.
4. daily steps to increase NEAT — NEAT, aka non-exercise activity thermogenesis, is what energy your body burns that isn’t intentional exercise. most VS models live in NYC and walk everywhere. the average new yorker walks around 2-5miles a day. it’s estimated they get in 8k-10k steps each day.
5. high protein, whole food diet — again, about 2 weeks before the show they get insanely strict on their food. frankly, this isn’t something anyone should be doing. for most of their prep, however, they eat less extreme with a focus on high protein sources paired with healthy fats and complex carbs. daily protein should be .8g-1g per lb of body weight for muscle growth. carb and fat ratios are adjusted to what works best for the model individually.
that’s it! there’s no real secret other than time, consistency, and genetics.
Tumblr media
DISCLAIMER: many vs angels have come forward to state that their look was usually the result of weight controlling drugs, starvation diets, and overtraining. there are also heavy filters and editing on the show. plus the models have surgeries, injections, body makeup, etc. the list goes on! all of that is to say, don’t look to them for realistic expectations of what your body should look like year round. they don’t even look like that, and many get their healthy weight back once the show ends. the advice above can be used for healthy maintenance year round, but there should always be flexibility in your fitness routine to live your life.

I don’t know if you guys saw this going around on social media of Doja Cat on her Instagram Live where she was clearly upset at this one lady, Lorry Hill. Basically, what had happened is that Doja Cat was calling Lorry a bitch and other insults because Lorry made a video talking about the possible surgery that Doja had. I totally understand where Doja is coming from because she has worked hard on getting fit and for someone to say that it was all surgery would make anyone upset. However, I don’t think that Lorry Hill meant to shame or bring down Doja.(Lorry also immediately took down the video by the way). I just want to say if you’ve watched Lorry, you would know that she is only speculating, talks to her plastic surgeon friends for research and that her reason for making the videos is so that her viewers can realize that not even celebs are perfect and her viewers shouldn’t be pressured to look like these beautiful celebs. I think that she is doing a great thing actually and that’s telling the truth although it might not always be accurate. This does bring up a good question: Why do celebs/influencers not talk about their surgeries but instead lie? Before I get started I want to say that I understand that getting plastic surgery doesn’t automatically make someone fake but if the person is lying about it then they are fake. I understand that a celeb/influencer should have privacy but at the same time they should be honest and themselves. While I was doing research is I found out that there are 2 types of plastic surgery: Reconstructive(correction of face or body) and Cosmetic(altering parts to appear more attractive). In the article, I was reading it also said that Teens want surgery to fit in, while Adults do it to stand out. This makes perfect sense because if a teen sees that her classmates all have plump lips, she’s going to want lip fillers but if a grown woman would get lip fillers it’s because she wants to be more attractive. I also don’t understand why celebs lie about their work because it doesn’t really benefit them especially if they give credit to something else. For example, Jennifer Lopez denies getting Botox and says it’s because of Olive Oil or when Olivia Munn said she got clear skin because of potatoes. Although eating healthy does benefit your skin, people will think doing these two steps will make them look just like JLO or Olivia. Another thing is when celebs will make excuses or try to make up a lie. Kendall Jenner said that her lips being bigger is because of makeup techniques she learned from Kylie or Bella Hadid also denied work a while back. I know celebs or people are going to say that it’s not their responsibility that someone wants to get surgery but it kind is. At the end of the day Celebs/influencers are technically a product. They are supposed to be perfect, beautiful, attractive, fashionable, basically represent the dream that normal people want or look up to. I’m not saying this is a healthy thing or something that should be normalized but it’s what works and what it means to be famous. I do think there is a difference between how celebs and Influencers talk about surgery. I feel that Celebs aren’t that honest about it but Influencers are. You could go to Youtube and type in BBL or Nose job and hundreds of videos would pop out from different influencers and their experiences. I’m just going say it, the BBL’s don’t look good, neither do the fillers. I think it’s because it never matches the person’s body proportions and their faces just look bloated. I don’t mean to shame, but if you're going to spend thousands of dollars at least make sure you have the right surgeon or it fits your face/body. It’s also funny when you start to hear these people’s reasoning for surgery. All of sudden they want to get surgery on their jaw, when their jaw is perfectly fine or their top lip is slightly smaller and now they look like a brat doll. My favorite is when they have to get a nose job because they can’t breathe well. I mean that one might be true, it’s just weird how humans will like to adopt other people’s insecurity. Like one person will say how insecure about their forehead space and now everyone has a big forehead. I also heard stories about how common it is for influencers to just go and get procedures done as if it’s like going grocery shopping. I think the worst reasons to get surgery is if you try to look like a certain celebrity, start looking like a different race or if you only get a procedure done because it was a trend. I don’t think I will ever get surgery. One because I can’t afford it and the second is because I have a bad feeling that I’m having a bad experience. I don't know if this is true but I've heard that a BBL is one of the most dangerous surgeries and that a lot of people have bad reactions to it. I also don’t know if there would be anything that I really need to change like yeah my lips are small, I don’t have a swooped up button nose or have Naomi Campbell cheekbones but I’m good with what I got. If I do want to change my body, I’ll just workout, eat healthier or get a good skincare routine done. By the way, I’m not trying to say not surgery, If you really want it and no one is pressuring you then go ahead. Just make sure it is something that is the healthiest choice for you and that you do your research.

Do u struggle with body image at all? I’ve been struggling really bad with even knowing what my own body looks like. Throughout my early years of high school I was literally stick thin but whenever anyone would mention how skinny I was I didn’t believe them. Like I was so insecure and never are but I never realized how small I was until I gained healthy weight my senior year. My senior year I had my best body and I was so confident. But then I graduated and it was around the time Covid started and I’ve gained even more weight since then and I feel fat now. But not like fat fat, but I’m also not skinny? So Idk wtf I am anymore. Some days I like my body and other days I feel like a legit cow. I wish I could see my body for how it is and understand it and my general size better but I can’t. I don’t even know what size jeans to get anymore because I used to wear a 00, then I moved up to a size 2 senior year, but now those are really tight on me but even some size 4’s hardly fit? Idk I’m just so insecure now but I don’t know if I’m just not used to having meat on my bones or if I actually need to start working out lol
ooo yes I deal with body image and have dealt with it for as long as I can remember. I think this year I having been doing a lot of reading and self growth when it comes to accepting my body. first off I never go by a scale or the number of jeans im wearing because those aren't accurate at all. one clothing brand I might wear a 0 but then another one I might wear a 6 just because they aren't the same. some brands run big and some run small! Remember that comparison is a thief of your own happiness. that being said, you cant compare yourself to anyone and you shouldn't really compare yourself to a weight you use to be. I have accepted that I will gain weight over time, and that is perfectly okay. everyone gains and loses weight, your not the only one. all that matters is how you feel, if you feel sluggish and you wanna tone up then maybe start working out. but work out to feel good, don't work out because you wanna be someone you use to be or you wanna look like Bella Hadid. workout and eat healthy to feel your best. instead of comparing yourself start telling yourself all the things you love. compliment yourself, put post its on your mirror with affirmations and telling yourself your beautiful, once you start saying it over and over then you will start believing and then you will be so much happier. its easier to love yourself than to not so start being nicer to your mind and body. I also remember no one notices if you gain 5 or 10 pounds, people are too focused on themselves to notice little shit like that! I think that if you wanna work out to feel confident then go for it!! but remember its perfectly okay to have meat on your bones and its perfectly okay for you to be any weight or size 💞

hi i have a question about beauty standards too, where do they even originate from? i feel like most people have their own preferences for what they are personally attracted to and it’s usually not very stringent and unrealistic, and i’ve also seen people who change their preferences based on what’s trendy so imo it doesn’t seem like standards originate from individuals but i don’t know so what do you think?
So, like I mentioned in my other post, I think there are really (at least) two different beauty standards that exist.  The first is what men find most physically attractive, and the other is the standard of beauty that women hold other women to.  Those sometimes overlap, but not always; the male-oriented Maxim’s Hottest List typically pick people like Kate Upton as the “sexiest woman”, while many female-oriented outlets opt for Bella Hadid instead.  Another distinction one could make would be “contemporary instagram beauty standards” vs “traditional runway beauty standards”, but that would make this a way longer post and it’s already wordy.
In terms of partner choice, who we’re attracted to in the “real world”, those are individual choices and impacted by other factors (chemistry, personality, proximity).  But on a cultural scale, we have beauty standards that are outside of our individual control and that we’re held to whether we like them or not.  We don’t generally think of ourselves as upholding cultural beauty norms, but if you’ve ever liked a picture of Kylie Jenner or learned to do cat eyeliner because it’s trendy, you’re engaging in it, too.
In terms of female physical attractiveness from the male perspective, the answer is relatively simple. Those beauty standards are hypothesized to have developed based on evolutionary indicators of fertility- basically, physical cues that suggest a woman will be able to have many healthy children.  These include everything from facial symmetry to waist to hip ratio to size and shape of breasts and butts to very specific, random things like thick, dark limbal rings in the eyes.
Female beauty standards for other women, or what we might think of as the larger “cultural beauty standard”, are a little bit more complicated in their nature.  These are generally indicators of status or culture; in some places, being overweight is seen as ideal because it means you have enough money to afford an abundance of food.  In the US, where food is very inexpensive but free time is at a premium, our beauty standards revolve around bodies that are expensive and time consuming to maintain.  We aestheticize a thin, toned body because it requires you to have enough time to cook at home, access to healthy ingredients, knowledge of nutrition (or a nutritionist), money for a gym membership and exercise classes, time to take those exercises classes, potentially money for cosmetic procedures and makeup items, etc.
Culturally, beauty standards function as an easy way to distinguish one’s self from the “other”- whether the “other” is race, gender, sexuality, class, religion, etc. For the “other”, cultural beauty standards can be aspirational- if you can just crack the code of cultural beauty (and respectability politics), then maybe you, too, will be afforded the power that the majority has.
In terms of how these beauty standards proliferate, it’s largely through the media and advertisement.  At any given time, a certain celebrity will have a body that is an aesthetic representation of our culture at large.  Marilyn Monroe, for example, or Twiggy, or Kate Moss, or the Kardashian/Jenners now.  In years where women are gaining more social standing, those beauty standards are less heteronormative- the flappers of the 20s, which coincided with the suffrage movement, or the mods of the 60s, which coincided with second wave feminism.  But as a backlash to those rights being acquired, the beauty ideals again become more heteronormative and stringent- for example, the Hollywood golden age of the 30s or the supermodels of the 80s.  In the words of Naomi Wolf in her book, The Beauty Myth, “the more legal and material hindrances women have broken through, the more strictly and heavily and cruelly images of female beauty have come to weigh upon us.”
That “look” that’s popular during any given time period then trickles down to us through TV, advertising, movies, magazines, and now, social media, until it’s the most prominent look in advertising and in high street stores, and until it’s all you see the people around you wearing/looking like.
This cycle is perpetuated and quickened by capitalism; the more frequently the beauty standard changes and the more varied features are needed to achieve it, the more products there are to sell.  More and more “problem parts” get created in order to create insecurities that will result in purchases. For example, I remember when “hip dips” first became a Thing that people were insecure about.  Before that, it was just a normal way that some hips looked- but all of a sudden, it was something you should be ashamed of, and coincidentally, all of a sudden there were tons of workout programs you could purchase, clothes that promised to hide them, and products that promised to make them go away.  I think the beauty standard is also becoming less realistic on purpose- if your standard includes features common in many different ethnicities, it’s more likely that the majority of consumers will need to buy at least one product to achieve that standard.
We live in an interesting contradiction right now.  On the one hand, at least vocally, we no longer have a beauty standard.  Everyone is beautiful!  You go, girl!  You do you!!  Embrace your imperfections, or don’t!  Whatever choice you make is EMPOWERING because it’s YOUR CHOICE, and there totally aren’t any cultural or social factors that are manipulating what that choice might be. But at the same time, the people who say that are frequently selling something- makeup, workout classes, clothes- that claim they’ll make you look just like your favorite influencer.
More types of beauty as, in theory, becoming “acceptable”, but at the same time, more people seem to be looking like KarJenners than ever.  Although we claim to be embracing diversity, I think many companies are really just capitalizing on a trend by showing a few token minority models, and then going back to selling a homogenous standard of beauty that creates insecurities and makes them the most money.  Even then, those minority models generally must conform to standards of beauty in some other way- trans models Hari Nef and Hunter Schafer, for example, could pass as a cis tall, thin, blonde runway models.  2020 Model of the Year runner up Adut Akech is Sudanese, but she’s also cis, tall, and thin.  Ashley Graham is plus size, but she’s also cis, tall, proportionate, straight, and white.  Kendall Jenner can suffer from “debilitating” acne, because she’s cis, tall, white, thin, straight, and famous.  We’re giving the appearance of expanding our standards, but in many ways we’re still enforcing them.
I hope that kind of answers your question.  This is just my take on it, and it’s not really backed by a ton of academic study (although I did try really hard to find some), so feel free to disagree and tell me what you think.

things that i can never change about my body and i am okay with
if you have similar struggles, you can take inspiration from this post to accept things you can never change about the way your body is built. I have added some positive examples and ways to cope with these problems.
♡My leg length. I have shorter legs and that's completely okay. You cannot change your skeleton. My legs will appear shorter no matter what I do. I am okay with having shorter legs. The shortness of your legs will be determined by it's proportion to your torso, so your height does not really matter. If you hate your shorter legs, check out Gisele Bündchen for inspiration. She has shorther legs in proportion to her torso and other models and she still rocks it.
♡Hip dips. Hip dips are caused by your bone structure, muscle tone, and fat storage. You can try to exercise your hip dips off. But you can never change how and where your body stores fat. The lowest dip on your hip dips store no fat and have no built muscles. The fat that's store on your lower belly and back creates hip dips. Even if you have a little fat, your hip dips will stay unless you're working out to build muscle. I am so over hip dips. I don't care if I have them or not. If you hate your hip dips, take inspiration from Bella Hadid. She has an amazing body that's envied by many and her hip dips are still noticable. Her hip dips adds character to her walk and her legs, makes her appear sharper. If you're struggling with hip dips, get a few pairs of high waisted, seamless panties that are a size smaller. The compression from the fabric will have a spanx effect on your hip dips if you adjust it accordingly.
♡I will never have a thigh gap. Thigh gaps, like hip dips are also determined by your bone structure and how you store fat. If your hip bones are wide it's possible that you will have a thigh gap. If your hips bones are narrow, you may never have a thigh gap even though you are skinny. I never wanted a thigh gap because I knew it would be an unrealistic expectation. I have narrower hips and I store my fat on my thighs for the most part, so it is unrealistic of me to strive for a thigh gap. You should focus on things you can change about your body and ignore what you can't change. Do not beat yourself over things you have no control over and let go.
♡Fat ankles. Again, that's just how my body is built. Women in my family have thicker ankles and I do too. It's not something that will change by losing weight. I do not beat myself over it. I dress accordingly with chunkier shoes so my ankles will appear more delicate.
♡Stretch marks. I remember when they first appeared and how painful the process was. Your cells are multiplying like crazy so you can grow. They would be super itchy and red for days. I don't care about stretch marks because everyone has them. I don't care if it's caused by natural growth or weight gain. I literally couldn't care less. If you're unhappy with stretch marks, you can look into laser options to get them removed. That's the only way to get rid of them. However, you can try and prevent stretch marks. If you are scared you'll get them, moisturize 2 times a day to keep your skin hydrated and flexible. If you have naturally dry skin that is prone to eczema and such, you're more prone to stretch marks. If you moisturize everday and still got stretch marks, you probably have very dry skin and there is not much to do and you will have to learn to accept them.
♡Wide ribcage. A wide ribcage means that my waist will never be small and dainty. My mom would make fun of me for having a wide and thick waist and would talk about how small her waist was at my age; we had an 8 inch difference. But her bone structure and the way her body stores fat it different than mine. I don't care if my waist is small. My wide ribcage gives me the appearance of a wider and stronger upper body. It also means that my ribs are visible even when I am at a 'healthy' weight. I love my wide ribcage because it makes me look strong and badass.
♡Undefined collarbones. Another part of my body that I cannot change. The visibility of your collarbones is determined by its build and the thickness of your skin regardless of weight. If you are struggling to get collarbone definition, chances are your skeleton is not built that way and you have thicker skin. A thicker skin means the skin on your collarbones will age slower compared to those who have thinner skin. You cannot change your bone structure to make your collarbones more visible. However, you can change your posture. Have you noticed how ballet dancers have beautiful collarbones? It's not because they are skinny, but have been trained from childhood for proper posture. Working on your posture may have a more positive effect on the look of your collarbones than losing more weight.
♡Big thighs. That's just where my body stores fat mostly. The only thing that can slim them down is by working out and building muscle. However, what little fat I have will be stored there no matter what. I'm not complaining about my bih, squishy thighs. Tyra Banks always had fleshier, softer thighs at every weight and she looks amazing.

Like take one look at Bella Hadid’s comment section, every single one shaming her on her body doesn’t show themselves on their page.

That would be a correct assessment if we weren´t talking about people who on multiple occasions have put online their "thought" on people that don´t look like they "want", yes want because not even they look as skinny, fit or healthy as they like to think they do which is completly different of what´s going on with Bella, who as far as I understan has a reputation of being sweet but with an awful mother.
Personally, I go 5 days of the week to the gym and walk as much as I can and still wouldn´t put a pic of myself online because I don´t want the attention, something you can´t say about Alblabla and friends who do the most to act cool and like they are the best people in the world.
Also pointing out that she looks like an unhealthy mess is not the same as "skinny shame".

Could YOU eat like a celebrity?
From catwalk stars to social media sensations, celebrities usually have an army of nutritionists and private chefs on hand to make sure their diet keeps them looking in tip top shape.
But which stars have the healthiest regimes and who could be sacrificing essential nutrients in favour of keeping calories low?
British-born Mia Challiner, who now lives in France, went viral on TikTok eating meals inspired by her favourite celebrities, using information found online, for 24-hours – racking up nine million likes on the social media app.
Now nutritionist Mays Al-Ali, from London, has analysed her videos for FEMAIL to work out how healthy these meal plans really are, revealing that while many are low in calories, not all of them have the nutrients your body needs.
For example, while Victoria’s Secret model Adriana Lima’s high-protein diet is well-balanced and full of all three necessary macros, Dua Lipa’s low calorie regime may leave you feeling hungry, and in need of complex carbs and vegetables.
Hailey Bieber
Breakfast: Scrambled eggs, nutritional yeast, smoothies, mango, mixed berries
Lunch: Salad bowl with vegetable sushi, avocado, edamame beans, sweet potato, black rice, be a sprouts, kale, tofu
Dinner: Gluten-free pasta and tomato sauce
 How healthy is this diet?
This one isn’t bad. Breakfast and lunch are great but dinner lacks protein, If the pasta was made from lentils, this could have boosted it.
If it was white pasta then that isn’t ideal, always better to go for wholemeal pasta or lentil/bean pastas.
Also there are not enough veggies in the dinner either, definitely need to boost it with a salad.
I would also say it might be a little light for her daily requirements but its hard to know without knowing her activity levels or portion sizes.
Model Hailey Bieber had a decent diet, according to Mays , with a great breakfast and lunch but a dinner lacking in protein
Kim Kardashian West
Breakfast: Acai bowl: Mango, berries, banana, goji berries, granola
Lunch: Tortilla wrap, beans, sweetcorn, greek yoghurt, salad
Dinner:  Avocado, sweet potato fries, tofu, green beans
How healthy is this diet?
This one is ok, but breakfast could do with a boost of protein and if the granola is quite sugary, as it often can be when its shop bought, thats not ideal either as we want to minimise sugar in our diet which is inflammatory.
The wrap for lunch if its made from white flour won’t be the best either as its better to have a wholemeal wrap thats less refined.
Dinner is good as contains all three macros and veggies. Again, it could be a little light on food depending on her activity levels and the portion sizes.
Mays said reality star Kim Kardashian could do with a boost of protein in her diet
Bella Hadid
Breakfast: Apple cider vinegar, two eggs half an avocado, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries.
Lunch: Salad, beetroot, carrot, cheese, salmon cucumber, red cabbage
Snack: Ice cream
Dinner: Pizza
How healthy is this diet?
This one isn’t so good in the snack and dinner area, we all know that ice cream is high fat, high sugar and affects our blood sugars negatively and in turn can also disrupt our hormone balance.
Add into that a high refined carb and dairy pizza for dinner, then you aren’t doing your body any favours at all.
Plus there are no veggies in the dinner and I always like to encourage my clients to have at least three portions in every meal to try and near more to 10 fruits and veggies a day (beyond the NHS requirement of 5 which individuals more rainbow antioxidant benefits or these fruits and veggies).
As well as that, having apple cider vinegar with your meal doesn’t have as much benefit as having it 30mins before, as this way it stimulates digestive enzyme production which will improve how the meal is digested.
Breakfast is a little light on complex carbs, she could have added some sweet potato or wholemeal/sourdough toast to the meal.
Mays felt supermodel Bella Hadid’s diet could do with improvement, with high refined carb and dairy pizza for dinner
Dua Lipa
Breakfast: One banana and almond butter
Lunch: Tortilla wrap with greek yoghurt, half an avocado, sweetcorn, two cherry tomatoes and kidney beans
Dinner: Three slices of pizza
This one isn’t so good. Breakfast is really small – this wont keep her energised for the morning.
There’s not much protein in there either and it could do with more low GI fruits like berries, she could have put it in a smoothie with veggies too.
Lunch is ok but again if its a white tortilla wrap then this could definitely be improved to wholemeal.
Dinner isn’t ideal, pizza isn’t the healthiest of choices as made from refined white flour usually so wont keep you full and will affect your glucose metabolism and no veggies in there at all.
Overall its doesn’t contain enough calories to sustain her daily needs, is low on veggies and low on complex carbs which are needed to keep us full for longer and avoid blood sugar crashes.
Mays felt singer Dua Lipa’s diet was too low calorie, with her breakfast leaving her feeling unenergised
Taylor Swift
Breakfast: Buckweat wrap with one egg, cheese, tomato and a glass of orange juice
Lunch: Avocado or cucumber sandwich
Snack: Cucumber and hummus
Dinner:  Pasta, salmon, asparagus, broccoli, carrots
Dessert: Brownie or cookie.
How healthy is this diet?
Another one that could be improved. I like the buckwheat wrap for breakfast thats a great complex carb addition, but she could have increased the meal with two eggs.
The orange juice, I would avoid entirely – having sugary fruit juice without the fibre really spikes our glucose levels and I would always recommend to eat the orange rather than have the juice. If it was a green vegetable juice this wouldn’t have the same sugary effect and would be beneficial however.
Lunch doesn’t have enough protein and doesn’t seem very filling or enough.
The snack is good and dinner is ok, but it depends on the pasta choice, I would always go for wholemeal pasta over white refined carb pasta or even better you can get some great lentil and bean pastas that are high protein.
The dessert of brownie or cookie isn’t a great addition either, usually very high sugar. But you can make healthier alternatives and add in sweet potato or even beetroot into chocolate brownies, which may sound weird but tastes delicious. So it would really depend on the ingredients.
Mays felt singer Taylor Swift’s diet could be improved with less sugar and more protein
Rihanna
Breakfast: Three eggs, one piece of toast and berries
Lunch: Fish, lettuce, cucumber, cheese, sweetcorn, walnuts, lemon, chia seeds
Dinner: Curry and rice
How healthy is this diet?
This one is very good for breakfast – great high protein breakfast. I love the three eggs, they’re a great protein source when you have three.
Lunch is nice and high protein but could do with a more complex carbs in it, for example sweet potato or butternut squash.
The curry dinner, depends on ingredients and if it was brown rice. Curry can definitely be made healthier – however it can be unhealthy with lots of oils, cream and white rice etc.
So if it’s that version then the dinner choice could be improved with more veggies added too.
Rihanna ticks the boxes with a high protein breakfast, but might want to introudce more vegetables into her daily diet
Barbara Palivn
Breakfast: Two cups of coffee, porridge, frozen berries, chia seeds, soya milk
Lunch: Lentils, chicken or fish, sweet potato, celery, spinach
Dinner: Goulash
This one is ok, but the coffee should ideally be away from meals, and also sticking to one coffee would be much better.
Porridge could do with a boost of protein powder and again depending on portion sizes and her activity levels this could be a little low calorie for her energy requirements.
The dinner could definitely do with a boost of veggies too because she isn’t hitting her five a day here.
May felt model Barbara Palivn’s meal plan was okay, however advised avoiding so much caffeine
ARIANA GRANDE
Breakfast: Oatmeal with almond milk, blueberries, raspberries, chia seeds and black coffee
Lunch: Quinoa, tofu, flageolets, cucumber, avocado
Drink: Coconut water
Snack: Mixed raisins, iced coffee
Dinner: Sweet potato, brown rice, green beans, flageolets
How healthy is this diet?
This one is a good one, my only notes would be, try to drink coffee 30mins-one hour after meals.
The tanins in tea and coffee reduce absorption of important minerals such as iron so having caffeine away from our meals helps optimise mineral absorption.
Also caffeine disrupts our sleep so I recommend to all my clients to try to avoid it past 11am, so her iced coffee snack could ideally be brought forward if it was in the afternoon and actually I wouldn’t recommend more than one cup per day either as that can also affect sleep quality.
Also her breakfast needs more protein in it, she could add a scoop of vegan pea protein to the porridge.
Its important to eat enough in every meal for optimum energy maintenance, blood sugar balance and muscle repair and protein is the most satiating macro so will help keep you full until the next meal.
Singer Ariana Grande has a good diet according to Mays, however the nutritionist advised not drinking caffeine after 11AM
Adriana Lima
Breakfast: Smoothie with banana mango, berries and protein powder
Lunch: Poke bowl with brown rice, cucumber, salmon, mango, walnuts, kidney beans, chia seeds, soy sauce
Snack: Mixed nuts
Dinner: Salad with figs, avocado, beetroot, goats cheese onion.
How healthy is this diet?
This one is very good, enough protein in every meal, complex carbs, veggies, healthy fats – all the macros included.
I really like how the dinner is quite light but still has protein in the goats cheese and complex carbs in the beetroot as well as some healthy fats in the avocado, and fruit and vegetables.
I always advise my clients to eat lightly for dinner for optimum sleep.
Mays told that Victoria’s Secret model Adriana Lima’s diet was near perfect, with healthy high protein meals

Meet Jesse Jo Stark, the Seductive Star of New Rock’n’Roll
Every week, we ask one artist a set of quick-fire questions that all start with ‘the first’, from their first shows and paycheques to the first time they fell in love and got drunk. Here, LA cool-girl turned rock femme fatale Jesse Jo Stark talks making it in music, loving hard and why self-belief is still a daily struggle.
Jesse Jo Stark was destined to be rock royalty and she’s got the tour bus to prove it. I meet her on an unseasonably – even by our new global warming standards – windy day in London, where she’s parked up outside around the back of Camden Roundhouse. She’s been supporting The Vaccines on their UK tour, captivating audiences across the country with her punk-chic meets LA-infused indie sound and style. As these glorified coaches go, this one’s got some serious, badass personality. Metallic pink tassels, leopard-print cushions, mirrors on the ceiling and a rhinestone megaphone (Stark says bedazzling it herself has helped soothe her through a breakup) all contribute to the crazy cowgirl theme. Little surprise, then, that she describes her vibe as “hillbilly horror”.
As the daughter of Richard and Laurie Lynn Stark, the founders of ultra-cool rocker brand Chrome Hearts, the 27-year-old singer-songwriter has been around musicians since her earliest years. Raised on a diet of David Bowie and Fleetwood Mac, Stark boasts Cher as her godmother, Duff McKagan of Guns N' Roses a family friend and her first EP, Down The Drain, was produced by Sex Pistols guitarist Steve Jones.
There’s no doubt that Stark is well-connected (Bella Hadid is her BFF), but it’s sheer talent that’s really taking her places. Stark is a seriously good songwriter and a captivating performer. She’s also bringing a much-needed female voice to the indie rock scene, like a Patti Smith or Viv Albertine for the Instagram generation (she has a very healthy 212,000 followers of her own). Here, the indie darling speaks to GQ about everything from to self-belief and stage fright to heartbreak and media misperceptions.
The first time you realised you wanted to be a musician...
"Straight from the womb, I came out singing. Honestly, I don’t think I knew what that meant, but, yeah. I wrote my first song when I was seven. It was about a boy who didn’t like me."
The first time you played in front of a live audience...
"I was, like, 17 or 18 and I’d done a million little things before, but my first real big show was when I did a collaboration with Vans. We threw a huge party at the Troubadour in LA. It was a full show and we set up the collaboration like a merch booth. That was horrifying. My band wasn’t my band now, I didn’t know how to move my body, it was so scary and there was a ton of people there."
The first time you got silly drunk...
"I remember stoned. Drunk? OK. It was Santa Margarita, bottle of wine, in my friend Lily’s car, by the beach. There was a bonfire. And I threw up a lot. I was about 13 or 14."
The first time you fell properly in love...
"Oh, my God, like, seriously, out of the womb. I have to tell you, this is really hard to talk about, but I loved this Chinese boy at my kindergarten. I have a really bad memory, but I’ll always remember we were on the swing set. I loved him. It was deep. It was passionate. I’m not kidding. My best friend, Sorcha – he liked her and he asked her to go on the swings and not me. I was traumatized. Heartbroken. I love hard."
The first record you ever bought...
"I bought a lot of CDs at one particular store in Malibu. It was probably Ricky Martin or the Spice Girls."
The first time you put together a stage outfit...
"The one that I remember is when my godmother [Cher] let me design my 'Shoop Shoop' costume – she let me perform in one of her shows. And I still have it, it’s tiny. It’s a brown vest with a ‘P’ sign, fringe and fur. Then the pants were denim with leather ‘P’ sign patches on them. I was really little, like seven. It was horrifyingly scary: I remember the whole front row staring at me."
The first time you made money out of being a musician...
"I’m not making that much money even now. I would say when I did my Vans collaboration, that really incorporated my music, that was the first thing that I did alone. I saved that money and put it towards house stuff."
The first time you won at anything...
"OK, you’re making me really go down memory lane. I just got an award last week during this British tour – it's not an actual award, but it’s like a plaque from a man who owns a venue I played at and he wrote my name and my lyrics on it. I seriously was so touched, because I never won anything, not sports or a spelling bee, nothing, so I felt like that was my moment. I want to send it to my volleyball teacher, like, ‘Look’. It says 'burning in the fire of love, alright'. He was really cute to me and I love him."
The first time you got stage fright...
"I still get it. It’s like a formula every time, I have to center. I love being around the guys - my band - I feel like the fact that they believe in me allows me to do what I’m doing. So I’m really lucky to have such a cool family. To prepare, I say a little prayer, take a really big breath and then just switch my mood. I like to be angry rather than happy when I go on stage."
The first time you threw a punch and meant it...
"I punched my ex-boyfriend – he let me, though. I punched him, like, ten times. It wasn’t a joke, but he let me."
The first time you realized your friendship circle was famous...
“I don’t think of me like that. I think Bella is famous. It’s interesting because I’ve known Bella for such a long time. She’s younger than me and we’re both from Malibu and we got close before she blew up… I’m so proud of her, she’s my number one babe. I pick her over all the babes. The only thing that’s weird is the awkward pictures of me bending over and fixing her bikini. She looks amazing. I look awful.”
The first time you read a piece of fake news about yourself...
"That I’m a drug addict, a party animal who is always out. I’m really not. I love being at home and I love my family. I mean, everybody has their moments when they go out, but I don’t think that’s cool in any way."
The first thing you'd do if you became president...
"I’d say funding. There are so many major things going on right now that are important, and I don’t know what the first thing to tackle would be because it’s so tragic seeing the suffering that’s going on, the mess we’ve made. I think they all go hand in hand. I can just say that I do think it’s time for someone to sort the crap out and it’s not going to be the president right now."
The first person you'd call if you were in real trouble...
"At the moment, I’d say my guitar player Thomas. We’re sharing the same space emotionally right now. He helps me anywhere, from styling me to making me coffee to saving me from a burning building."

i felt the need to write this as a reminder that you should NEVER be wishing to be anyone but yourself. i'm sick of girls these days damaging their bodies in a horrible way just so they can look like bella or gigi hadid or kendall jenner - they are all naturally beautiful but these types of girls are not healthy in the slightest and i'm sure internally their bodies are suffering quite terribly because they chose to compromise their natural look for an extremely unhealthy appearance. it's scary and sad at the same time to watch people i know slowly fall into the trap of skipping meals or worse, smoking, just so they can be thinner - this is doing your body SO MUCH MORE HARM THAN GOOD and yet girls don't actually realise what they're putting their body through because those models do it, right?! and they're perfect and beautiful ?! well no, they're actually extremely unhealthy and are actually promoting long term illness rather than a fit, healthy lifestyle. fun fact: marilyn monroe was actually a size 12 in her modelling days, and she has been deemed iconic in the modelling/acting world because she embraced what she had, and she let her natural beauty shine through. this is what we need to start talking about. girls have GOT to learn to love themselves and embrace their flaws because each one of you are truly beautiful in your own way, and changing that to fit in with society's standards is going to cause a lot of emotional and physical pain in the long run. so please, i beg of all of you out there, remind yourself of your beauty and your worth, and stop trying to be someone you're not. you're all so incredibly gorgeous, so embrace it :) 🌻🌻🌻

Plus-Size Model Shares Cellulite in Photo: ‘It’s Nothing to Be Ashamed Of’
Tumblr media
Model Charli Howard shared a body-positive photo on social media embracing her cellulite. (Photo: Instagram/Charli Howard)
Plus-size model Charli Howard is letting the world know she’s perfect as is — cellulite, be damned.
On Sunday, Howard reposted an older Instagram photo of herself clutching her backside and showing off her dimpled skin. The British beauty captioned the body-positive shot, “They say do something each day that scares you, so re-posting; this is mine for the day. Despite the fact I speed walk everywhere, squat, run and occasionally do @pure_barre, I’m still left with cellulite.”
They say do something each day that scares you, so re-posting this is mine for the day. Despite the fact I speed walk everywhere, squat, run and occasionally do @pure_barre, I'm still left with cellulite. I went to an all-girls' boarding school and really used to envy the girls in my class who seemingly had none, and whose bodies looked, to me, nothing less than perfect. Whenever I opened magazines, the models and celebrities I saw didn't have cellulite either – and if they did, they were shamed in the tabloids because of it, or knocked off their perch by nasty journalists who probably have it themselves. (Note: fuck you.) As a result, I felt like my cellulite was shameful, or an oddity. It wasn't until I got older and saw other women's bodies that I realised HOW BLOODY NATURAL IT IS. ✔️ It's nothing to be ashamed of. Your boyfriend isn't gonna care if you have it, and if he does, dump him for his mate. ???????? Just kidding (or am I?). Don't get me wrong – my cellulite isn't my favourite part of my body, nor is it something I shout from the rooftops about. But I know it doesn't make me any less ugly, or is something I need to feel embarrassed about. ✖️ So don't let it make you feel that way, either! In the words of my old pal Kendrick Lamar, "Show me something natural like ass with some stretch marks" ???????????????????????????????????????????????????? #iamallwoman @allwomanproject @heatherhazzan
A post shared by Charli Howard (@charlihoward) on Apr 9, 2017 at 12:49pm PDT
Howard described how, while growing up, she attended an all-girls’ boarding school and felt envious of her classmates and the models in magazines who didn’t appear to have cellulite. “As a result, I felt like my cellulite was shameful, or an oddity,” she wrote. “It wasn’t until I got older and saw other women’s bodies that I realized how bloody natural it is.”
The size 6 model added, “Don’t get me wrong — my cellulite isn’t my favorite part of my body, nor is it something I shout from the rooftops about. But I know it doesn’t make me … ugly, or is something I need to feel embarrassed about. So don’t let it make you feel that way, either!”
More than 4,000 people liked Howard’s post. “This photo has made me feel better about my cellulite and squishy legs,” wrote one fan. Another wrote, “You’re helping so many girls build self love.”
“It’s interesting how [cellulite], something so natural to women, can feel so unnatural at the same time,” Howard tells Yahoo Beauty. “We’re not used to seeing public images like this, despite the fact that more than 90 percent of women have cellulite. But if it makes one woman feel good about herself, then I know I made the right decision in posting it!”
In March, a before-and-after photo of Howard went viral, showing her at a thinner weight where she described herself as a “miserable girl” in one photo next to an image of her happy and healthy at her current weight. She previously told Yahoo Beauty, “These days, everyone has an editing app on their phones to spruce themselves up. But it’s important to show one’s flaws — a zit, some cellulite — because we’ve become obsessed with chasing perfection.”
Let me tell you a little tale regarding the selfies pictured here. In the words of Nicki Minaj, I was "feelin' myself" in the photo on the right, despite being in Texas and having eaten more food than is humanly necessary. But hey, it was a holiday, and I was enjoying myself. Life isn't about restricting. ✖️ It's taken me a longggg time, but I like how my shape is developing. ???? I like how womanly I'm starting to look. I like how my boobs and thighs are getting bigger, which I never thought I'd say. ???????? I don't want to look like that miserable girl on the left, whose gums were always bleeding, hair was falling out, periods didn't come etc. ☹️ So anyway, I posted that "feelin' myself" photo & carried on with my day. A couple of days later, I was sent an article that had been written about me with that selfie included. The article itself was very nice, as is the girl who wrote it (she frequently writes about body positivity)… but then I made the mistake of viewing the comments. ???????????? In a nutshell, I was described as "fat", "ugly", "arrogant" and "not model material". One person said I should go and work in porn because that's all I was good for. ???? I just began sobbing at Austin Airport, which was a bit embarrassing, but it was a reflection of how I felt inside. MORTIFIED. Ashamed. FAT. Suddenly, all the old thoughts & feelings I felt in the left photo came rushing back, like how I should stop eating for the rest of the day, or start over exercising to compensate. ???? But then a random lady came over to me and gave me a hug out of the blue. Like those dickheads on the internet, she was a total stranger, but she decided to show me kindness, despite not knowing me or why I was crying. ❤️ I suddenly realised that my worth wasn't representative of some mean trolls on the internet. It's taken my years, but I LIKE MY BODY & MY SHAPE. I'm finally healthy ???? My body isn't validated by anyone else's views of me. And neither is yours! ✌???? Be kind to other girls online. You never know how your words may affect someone. ???? #bodypositive #curves #iamallwoman
A post shared by Charli Howard (@charlihoward) on Mar 26, 2017 at 7:40am PDT
Howard has always been an outspoken body-positivity advocate. She’s openly detailed her struggle with food restriction and the physical effects of that behavior such as bleeding gums, hair loss, and the absence of her period.
In 2015, Howard wrote an open letter on Facebook to her former modeling agency, sharing that the company dropped her because she was too “out of shape” to work. She wrote, “I will no longer allow you to dictate to me what’s wrong with my looks and what I need to change in order to be ‘beautiful’ … in the hope it might force you to find me work.”
That same year, Howard penned an essay for Dazed magazine about homogeny in the fashion industry, writing, “The industry needs to stop using the same tall, skinny white girls as a way of selling fashion. That’s not exciting. It certainly doesn’t reflect the general public, or account for the vast amount of beauty in the world.”
Howard is hardly alone in her quest to celebrate so-called real bodies. In January, plus-size model Ashley Graham shared an image of the cellulite on her leg in a bikini photo that received more than 395,000 likes.
I workout. I do my best to eat well. I love the skin I'm in. And I'm not ashamed of a few lumps, bumps or cellulite.. and you shouldn't be either. #beautybeyondsize #lovetheskinyourein
A post shared by A S H L E Y G R A H A M (@theashleygraham) on Jan 25, 2017 at 6:41pm PST
And in February, fitness model Anna Victoria posted two Instagram photos in “good lighting,” which concealed the cellulite on the back of her arm, and in “bad lighting,” which revealed her natural skin tone. “So, do I love the look of my arms on the right?” she wrote. “No, but I don’t hate it or myself for it, either. And you shouldn’t either.”
Lighting. Is. Everything. 99% of pictures you see on social media are taken in the best possible lighting and that ain't no accident ???? so when I got into the elevator with the lighting on the right, I zoned in on the cellulite on the back of my arms. Yes, cellulite on your arms is a thing! I've had it since the beginning of my journey and while it's lightened up since then, it's still not totally gone… because I'm human. Seriously, girls, stop thinking you're the only one with cellulite and that it's some kind of disease! Yes, it absolutely can be reduced through healthy diet, exercise and proper water intake, but another component which you can't control is genetics, and just being human. It's not bad to want to reduce the sight of cellulite just like it's not bad to want to lose weight and feel more confident overall, but don't set out to lose weight JUST to have less cellulite. It can be a cherry on top of all the other amazing benefits. If you ask me how to reduce the appearance of cellulite, my answer will be: healthy diet, regular exercise and proper water intake – that's it. I will not suggest creams or wraps or whatever else the current fad is because those are only short term fixes (IF that..) and perpetuate the idea that health/results can be found in a bottle/package. So, do I love the look of my arms on the right? No, but I don't hate it or myself for it, either. And you shouldn't either ❤️ #fbggirls #realtalk #cellulite www.annavictoria.com/guides
